1st (3) (2/7 +38%) Mashaaer |
2/7(+38%) | (3) Mashaaer 2/7, Fairly useful filly who is yet to win but is best not judged on her last effort at this track (10f) 11 months ago (saddle slipped and also left poorly placed). Looks to have been found a weak race to open her account provided she's ready to roll. Not seen for 11 months but sets a clear form standard in this line-up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (9/2 -29%) On The Cards |
9/2(-29%) | (1) On The Cards 9/2, 16/1, hinted at ability when seventh of 8 in maiden at Wolverhampton (9.5f) on debut 19 days ago. May do better with that outing under his belt. Showed a bit on recent Wolverhampton debut and could give Mashaaer most to do. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (25/1 -108%) Moda Minx |
25/1(-108%) | (5) Moda Minx 25/1, 125/1, went with little promise when thirteenth of 14 in minor event at Kempton (8f) on debut 19 days ago. Step forward required but that's possible. Never involved on recent Kempton debut; big step forward is needed to trouble Mashaaer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (9/1 -20%) Electric Avenue |
9/1(-20%) | (4) Electric Avenue 9/1, Outstrip filly. Dam 5.7f/6f winner. Betting can guide expectations. Won't need to be any great shakes to play a prominent role on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (200/1 -203%) Peruvian Sunset |
200/1(-203%) | (6) Peruvian Sunset 200/1, Last in minor event/maiden. Tongue strap on for 1st time. Failed to beat a rival at Wolverhampton or Leicester in September; tongue-tie on now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (150/1 -127%) Timely Artist |
150/1(-127%) | (2) Timely Artist 150/1, Has failed to beat a rival in 3 minor events (tongue tied latest) so can only be watched. Huge prices and tailed off on all three starts. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
MASHAAER was largely disappointing after finishing second in the Pretty Polly at Newmarket in May 2022, but she returns from a lengthy absence in a very weak race and she should be capable of getting off the mark as a result. On The Cards showed some promise on his debut at Wolverhampton recently and is the clear main danger, although Electric Avenue is a newcomer to note.
A low-key start to proceedings and provided she's ready to roll after 11 months off, sole 4-y-o MASHAAER is strongly fancied to belatedly open her account at the expense of On The Cards, who hinted at ability when down the field at Wolverhampton recently and should be capable of better. Newcomer Electric Avenue can edge out Moda Minx for third spot.
Although she hasn't been seen for nearly a year, this still looks a gilt-edged opportunity for MASHAAER to get off the mark.

1st (9) (12/1 +25%) So Chic |
12/1(+25%) | (9) So Chic 12/1, 18/1, returned to form when second of 10 in handicap at this C&D (AW) 20 days ago, nearest finish. Merits consideration. Step back in right direction when second over C&D latest; another who can't be discounted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (17/2 -70%) Sixties Chic |
17/2(-70%) | (5) Sixties Chic 17/2, Career best when winning 12-runner handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f, 33/1) 8 days ago, suited by way race developed. Makes polytrack debut. Fancied to feature from just 2 lb higher. Came from well off pace to lead on line on recent 6f AW debut; should stay 7f; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (9/2 -13%) Storymaker |
9/2(-13%) | (3) Storymaker 9/2, 4/1 and blinkered for 1st time, ran up to best when third of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 8 days ago, running on having been forced to switch early in straight. Can build on that effort. 0-12 but showed she can go close from this mark when third last week; considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (9/2 +63%) Dors Toyboy |
9/2(+63%) | (6) Dors Toyboy 9/2, C&D winner. 9/2, respectable third of 8 in handicap at this C&D (AW) 29 days ago. Has dropped below his last winning mark. Third here last month and won a division of this race off similar mark last year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (4/1 -60%) Laura's Breeze |
4/1(-60%) | (8) Laura's Breeze 4/1, Didn't need to improve to win 12-runner handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 2/1) 19 days ago, leading final 100 yds. Effectively 1 lb 'well in' given Morgan Cole's 3 lb claim so she looks sure to go well again. Came good at Wolverhampton 19 days ago and 2lb rise may not stop her going in again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (10/1 +0%) Media Guest |
10/1(+0%) | (4) Media Guest 10/1, One win from 28 Flat runs. First run since leaving George Margarson (4,000 gns) when creditable third of 8 in handicap (11/1) at Chelmsford City (7f) 3 weeks ago. Tongue strap back on. Solid start for new yard when third over 7f at Chelmsford; should be competitive again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) (11/1 +21%) Ajrad |
11/1(+21%) | (10) Ajrad 11/1, C&D winner. Eleven runs since last win in 2022. 4/1, wasn't disgraced under a negative ride from tumbling mark when sixth of 10 in handicap at this C&D (AW) 20 days ago, left with lot to do. Won division of this off much higher mark last year; bit better than recent results imply. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (11) (8/1 +0%) Purple Poppy |
8/1(+0%) | (11) Purple Poppy 8/1, Sole win from 23 Flat runs came over C&D in April. 5/1, good second of 12 in handicap at Kempton (6f) 17 days ago, every chance inside final 1f. In the mix. C&D win in April and arrives in form after three successive in-frame efforts at Kempton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (12) (33/1 -32%) Aviary |
33/1(-32%) | (12) Aviary 33/1, One win from 25 Flat runs. Sixth of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 11/2) 32 days ago, no extra final 100 yds. Cheekpieces on 1st time. 8lb below her sole winning mark but not obviously in the form to take advantage. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) (12/1 +40%) Hurricane Kiko |
12/1(+40%) | (7) Hurricane Kiko 12/1, 50/1 and blinkered for 1st time, got back on track with the help of an uncontested lead and enterprising ride when fourth of 10 in handicap at this course (8f, AW) 30 days ago. Just as likely to run poorly here, however. Mixed record lately but latest 1m course fourth in blinkers (retained) was better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (2) (33/1 -450%) Fly The Nest |
33/1(-450%) | (2) Fly The Nest 33/1, C&D winner. 3 wins from 7 runs earlier this year. Didn't need to be at best when winning 9-runner handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 11/4), suited by way race developed to lead post. Off 8 months. Had excellent spell on AW last winter, including two C&D wins; been off 257 days. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (1) (22/1 -10%) Bobby Dassler |
22/1(-10%) | (1) Bobby Dassler 22/1, Ran poorly back on all-weather when last of 13 in handicap (66/1) at Kempton (8f) 45 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Has work to do. Well held on AW latest; needs refitted cheekpieces to help spark revival. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
LAURA'S BREEZE got off the mark over this trip at Wolverhampton earlier in the month and a 2lb rise may not be enough to prevent the three-year-old from going in again here. Purple Poppy has made the frame on her last couple of starts and is likely be in the mix once more, while Sixties Chic and Fly The Nest complete the shortlist.
LAURA'S BREEZE didn't need to improve to get off the mark at Wolverhampton earlier this month and, with Morgan Cole's 3 lb more than negating a small rise in the weights, Ed Dunlop's filly is fancied to follow up at the expense of Sixties Chic, who made a winning all-weather debut recently and may well have more to offer on synthetics. Storymaker and Purple Poppy are another couple worthy of a mention.
Lots with chances. LAURA'S BREEZE has improved for the switch to AW this autumn and might be able to defy a small rise for last time.

2nd (3) (11/4 -22%) Lark In The Mornin |
11/4(-22%) | (3) Lark In The Mornin 11/4, Fairly useful Flat winner, making GB/IRE jumps debut. Fourth of 5 in minor event at Cork (10.1f, good to soft, 7/2). Off 7 months. Useful Flat form up to 1m2f and sire has a good strike-rate with his jumpers. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Open to progress. Winner on very soft in France; beaten odds on fav' here last week and didn't jump fluently. |

5th (10) (100/1 -203%) Burvea |
100/1(-203%) | (10) Burvea 100/1, Fair maiden on the Flat. Twice-raced maiden. 25/1, fifth of 6 in juvenile hurdle at Listowel (16f, good to soft) 69 days ago. Minor promise on the Flat; hasn't really shown anything in two hurdle starts; best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

20/1(-67%) | (11) Green Sky 20/1, Fairly useful Flat winner, making GB/IRE jumps debut. Fifth of 8 in handicap at Gowran (8f, soft, 11/1). Won Flat maiden earlier in the year but seemingly down the order on jockey bookings here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (13/2 +7%) Biggerthanbigtime |
13/2(+7%) | (1) Biggerthanbigtime 13/2, Thrice-raced maiden. Third of 10 in juvenile hurdle (12/1) at Galway (16.4f, heavy) 28 days ago, doing better under change of tactics. Showed more over timber last time when third at Galway but surprise if he's good enough. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (8/1 -60%) San Guido |
8/1(-60%) | (6) San Guido 8/1, Promising type. Tongue strap on for 1st time, third of 7 in juvenile hurdle at Down Royal (16.9f, soft, 12/1) on NH debut 14 days ago, not knocked about. Likely to improve. Modest Flat form but more promise when 3rd at Wexford on hurdle bow; should progress. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (33/1 +34%) Tranquil Sea |
33/1(+34%) | (8) Tranquil Sea 33/1, 1,000 gns 3-y-o, Teofilo gelding. Dam 1½m-13.5f winner on Flat in France. 12/1, sixth of 11 in juvenile hurdle at Fairyhouse (16f, heavy) on NH debut 18 days ago. Didn't jump well when tailed off in a maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse earlier this month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

250/1(-150%) | (12) Tiny Angel 250/1, Yeats filly. Dam (h100), bumper/2¼m hurdle winner, half-sister to useful hurdler/chaser (stayed 33f) Golden Chieftain. Sixth of 7 in juvenile hurdle (80/1) at Down Royal (16.9f, soft) on NH debut 14 days ago. Tailed off when 80-1 for her hurdle debut a fortnight ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (9) (250/1 -25%) Better Choice |
250/1(-25%) | (9) Better Choice 250/1, Twice-raced maiden. Eleventh of 13 in juvenile hurdle (200/1) at this course (16.5f, soft) 9 days ago. Shown nothing at huge prices in two maiden hurdle starts so far. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (250/1 -150%) Td's Approach |
250/1(-150%) | (7) Td's Approach 250/1, Modest maiden on the Flat, making GB/IRE jumps debut. First run since leaving Ciaran Murphy when last of 13 in handicap at Dundalk (12f, 25/1) 8 days ago. Poor Flat form including when tailed off at Dundalk last week and not bred for this. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Lark In The Mornin achieved a decent level of form in two starts on the Flat and has to warrant the utmost respect on his first attempt over timber. Similar comments apply to his stable companion Harsh, although the vote goes to MIGHTY BANDIT. Gordon Elliott's charge boasts a pedigree that suggests he can make an impact straight away in this sphere and he could be yet another exciting recruit for the Cullentra House stable.
MIGHTY BANDIT is an interesting newcomer for Gordon Elliott and market confidence for him would look significant. Lark In The Mornin showed plenty on his 2 starts on the Flat so is another to consider, while San Guido has the best form over hurdles.
Joseph O'Brien does well with his juveniles and LARK IN THE MORNIN is the pick of his 3 having shown a useful level of form on the Flat

1st (4) (5/1 +29%) The Wise Traveller |
5/1(+29%) | (4) The Wise Traveller 5/1, Won C&D handicap in February. Ended his time with Charlie Longsdon (sold £9,000 in August) with a below-par effort in April and fared even worse than in a couple of tries over fences previously after 6 months off when tailed off here last month. Now back hurdling with a bit to prove. Won over C&D in February and could have a big say now back over hurdles for in-form yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (11/2 -38%) Oceans Red |
11/2(-38%) | (7) Oceans Red 11/2, Three-time winner over fences, including twice last season. Possibly needed the run after 5 months off (breathing operation in interim) when fifth of 6 at Sedgefield (26.9f, good to soft) last month and connections now attempt to exploit his lower hurdles mark. Below best over fences on last three starts but not discounted off a lower hurdle mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (7/2 +30%) Poker Master |
7/2(+30%) | (1) Poker Master 7/2, Won 3 on the bounce during 2021/22 campaign and progressed again on first 2 starts of last season, landing back-to-back 20.7f handicaps at this track (4 course wins in total). Ran creditably on return when fourth at Plumpton (20.5f) 19 days ago and fancied to be in the mix back here. 4-time course winner (2m/2m4f); stamina to prove but nevertheless respected now back here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (14/1 -211%) Quiet Thunder |
14/1(-211%) | (5) Quiet Thunder 14/1, In a bit of form over the summer but produced a particularly laboured effort when last seen at Fontwell (21.8f, good) in September. Blinkers back on but she's not one to place too much faith in. Hasn't progressed but the step up in trip could be a positive move; possible player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (11/1 -22%) Anger Management |
11/1(-22%) | (3) Anger Management 11/1, Exploits distinctly mixed following scoring here last October but returned to form from out of the blue to double career tally at Bangor (19.5f) in September, the increase in trip suiting well. However, failed by a long chalk to back that up at this track since so must bounce back. Inconsistent & unraced beyond 2m4f but this course winner scored at Bangor two starts ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (9/2 +0%) Masterdream |
9/2(+0%) | (2) Masterdream 9/2, Dual winner at Worcester (20f) last year and successful on the Flat at Ffos Las (2m) in July. Upped in trip on his return to hurdling, produced his best effort in this sphere when scoring comfortably at Hereford (25.5f) but bit below that form when third at Market Rasen since. Won in good style at Hereford; beaten since when unpenalised but on slower ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (33/1 -175%) Mr Palmtree |
33/1(-175%) | (6) Mr Palmtree 33/1, Dual chase winner in 2020/21 before missing the following campaign. Back over hurdles this year, showed he retains his ability when successful in handicap at Warwick (3m2f) in March, though not in the same form on both subsequent starts. Makes return after 6 months off. Won in March but that was his sole bright run among five starts earlier this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (6/1 +8%) If I Say |
6/1(+8%) | (8) If I Say 6/1, Placed 4 times over fences this summer, latest when a well-beaten third of 8 in handicap at this course (23.6f, good to firm) last month, plugging on past beaten horses late on. More experienced pilot back on board and she's fancied to be in the shake-up. Poor strike-rate & below par over fences latest but in good form in that sphere previously. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (8/1 +50%) Counteract |
8/1(+50%) | (9) Counteract 8/1, Campaigned over fences in recent seasons and standout effort last term came when third at this track 12 months ago. Finished well held having a rare outing over timber at Plumpton (25f, good to firm) when last seen 6 months and given his patchy record, he's probably best watched on return. Fair third over fences here last December but struggled on his next two starts. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Poker Master is a four-time course winner who shaped nicely on his recent reappearance, but this is very much unknown territory trip-wise for him and he's maybe best taken on with MASTERDREAM. Neil Mulholland's charge proved his stamina for this trip with a convincing victory at Hereford earlier this month and he wasn't too far off on softer ground than ideal at Market Rasen last time. Oceans Red, a three-time chase winner, looks potentially well treated back over hurdles and is also worth considering.
Plenty in with a squeak but the vote goes to IF I SAY, who finished with running left when well-beaten here last month and, with Lilly Pinchin back in the plate, Charlie Longsdon's 6-y-o can take advantage of a reduced mark back hurdling with headgear applied for just a second time. Oceans Red, Poker Master and Counteract are just a handful of possible dangers.
Sarah Humphrey's horses are running well and C&D winner THE WISE TRAVELLER is the pick now back hurdling on his second stable start.

1st (6) (15/8 -50%) Morning Suit |
15/8(-50%) | (6) Morning Suit 15/8, Shaped as if better for the run when fourth of 12 in minor event at Kempton (6f, 9/2) on debut 10 days ago, fading final 1f. Leading claims with improvement to come. Sibling to two AW winners; duly shaped with promise at Kempton last week; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (16/1 -14%) Rothay Park |
16/1(-14%) | (8) Rothay Park 16/1, Still in need of the experience when eighth of 12 in minor event (80/1) at Chelmsford City (6f) 28 days ago. Looks one for the longer term. Holds weak claims on his two efforts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (12/1 -118%) Global Asset |
12/1(-118%) | (4) Global Asset 12/1, Showed bit more than on debut when seventh of 8 in maiden (11/2) at Newcastle (6f) 2 weeks ago. Could yet do better for his leading yard, so he merits consideration. Both efforts suggest he'll find better opportunities in handicaps shortly. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (12) (16/1 -78%) Salaamaat |
16/1(-78%) | (12) Salaamaat 16/1, Fifth of 7 in minor event at Doncaster (6f, soft, 8/1) on her second start in July, merely plugging on. Off 4 months ahead of first run for yard after leaving Charles Hills. Absent since July and now makes debut for new connections; follow the market signals. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (7/4 +61%) Arctic Thunder |
7/4(+61%) | (1) Arctic Thunder 7/4, Foaled February 17. 110,000 gns yearling, Night of Thunder colt. Half-brother to 1m-10.5f winner Al Khamsin and 1m winner Inishnee, both in France. One to note on debut. 110,000gns yearling; Night Of Thunder half-brother to two winners; interesting debutant. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (20/1 -43%) On Song |
20/1(-43%) | (7) On Song 20/1, Still green when sixth of 9 in maiden (50/1) at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 23 days ago, again slowly away. Further progress needed. One of several runners who should prove better suited by handicap shortly. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) (12/1 -71%) Gultari |
12/1(-71%) | (10) Gultari 12/1, Very green when ninth of 12 in minor event (28/1) at Kempton (6f) on debut 10 days ago, slowly away. Needs to have learnt plenty from that first experience. Hood now applied. Related to four winners for her connections; should improve on Kempton debut effort. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (11/1 +45%) Cherryblossom Time |
11/1(+45%) | (9) Cherryblossom Time 11/1, Didn't shape with much immediate promise when eighth of 9 in minor event (16/1) at Salisbury (6f, good) in August on debut. Major improvement required after 3 months off. Absent since her humble debut at Salisbury in August; market can guide. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (50/1 -52%) Eccentric |
50/1(-52%) | (3) Eccentric 50/1, Well held in a pair of quick runs already this month, again running green when fifth of 8 in minor event (50/1) at Kempton (6f) 5 days ago. Likely to need more time. Gives the impression he'll be more interesting in handicaps shortly. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (11) (66/1 -313%) Lunar Rocks |
66/1(-313%) | (11) Lunar Rocks 66/1, Half-sister to several winners but didn't offer much when last of 12 in maiden at Wolverhampton (6.1f, 14/1) on debut 12 days ago. Will need to leave her first effort well behind. Hindered by wide trip at Wolverhampton last week; may step up plenty on that form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (2) (20/1 +60%) Dashing Willie |
20/1(+60%) | (2) Dashing Willie 20/1, Foaled April 26. 6,500 gns yearling, Cable Bay colt. Dam, unraced, closely related to useful 1m-9.5f winner Caserta and 13f-15f winner Destruct out of smart 1½m winner Daring Miss. Only the third 2-y-o runner for yard this year. Cable Bay colt; yard not generally noted for winning newcomers. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (5) (250/1 -279%) Jussonemor |
250/1(-279%) | (5) Jussonemor 250/1, Down the field in a pair of minor events in September, last of 11 at Wolverhampton (6.1f, 125/1) on the second occasion. Easy enough to look elsewhere. Holds poor claims on form. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Morning Suit is the pick of those with form after showing some ability on his debut over this distance at Kempton recently. That said, the level he sets is not very high and a chance can be taken on ARCTIC THUNDER, who lacks race experience but he is well related and cost 110,000gns as a yearling. Salaamaat and Dashing Willie are others to consider.
MORNING SUIT shaped as if better for the run when fourth at Kempton 10 days ago, so he can take a step forward from his debut effort to get off the mark. Newcomer Arctic Thunder represents a leading yard and is one to consider first time up, while Global Asset could be capable of better and completes the shortlist.
Likely improvers MORNING SUIT, Gultari and Lunar Rocks are on the shortlist, along with newcomer Arctic Thunder.

1st (6) (3/1 +33%) Kamsinas |
3/1(+33%) | (6) Kamsinas 3/1, Fairly useful bumper winner who made an impressive start over hurdles when landing the odds in a 2m Worcester novice in October, jumping on at the last and cruising clear. Built on that when runner-up in Cheltenham Grade 2 since and appeals as the sort to go on improving. Leading contender. His second at Cheltenham looks good, including with the winner 2nd since in the Greatwood. |

2nd (7) (16/1 -300%) Making Headway |
16/1(-300%) | (7) Making Headway 16/1, Successful on second of 2 starts in Irish points and created a positive impression when running out a comfortable winner of a Carlisle novice (17.2f) on his hurdling debut last month. Sure to progress. Promising 5yo but into deeper waters here and drying ground might not be ideal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (10/1 +0%) I Love My Baie |
10/1(+0%) | (5) I Love My Baie 10/1, Successful on the first of 2 starts in bumpers and impressed in making a winning hurdling debut in 5-runner event at Perth in July, just shaken up to assert. Not match for Primoz under a penalty at Ayr subsequently but wasn't helped by a bad mistake 4 out and remains capable of better. Beaten under a penalty at Ayr when 5l behind Primoz. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (66/1 -313%) Flash Du Pistolet |
66/1(-313%) | (3) Flash Du Pistolet 66/1, Placed twice from 5 starts in Irish points and went very close to landing a gamble on last month's Kelso hurdling debut (16.2f), collared only late on. Likely to improve but this asks for a good deal more. Looks up against it in this company despite his near miss at Kelso. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (40/1 -150%) Rich Spirit |
40/1(-150%) | (9) Rich Spirit 40/1, Just modest form in 2 bumpers but improved on his hurdling debut form when third at Aintree (20f, soft) 27 days ago, getting first run on the pair that beat him. Faces a stiff task up in grade. Improved third at Aintree but they went no pace and he could be flattered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (125/1 -89%) Bullets Hill |
125/1(-89%) | (2) Bullets Hill 125/1, Imposing sort who showed fairly useful form in bumpers but proved to be a disappointment when tailed off on recent Ludlow hurdle debut. Tongue strap on for 1st time. Dual bumper winner but tailed off on his hurdling debut at Ludlow; now tongue tied. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (4/1 -33%) Primoz |
4/1(-33%) | (8) Primoz 4/1, Runner-up both starts in Irish points in spring 2023. Bought for £150,000 after and looked a good prospect in making a winning hurdling debut at Ayr (2m) 3 weeks ago, quickening clear run-in. Sure to do better. Made all for a comfortable defeat of I Love My Baie at Ayr and looks highly promising. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (1) (Evens +56%) Bowenspark |
Evens(+56%) | (1) Bowenspark Evens, Isn't without his quirks but won his first 2 starts in bumpers last term and wasn't beaten far in 20-runner Grade 2 event at Aintree on final outing in that sphere. Proved a class apart when easily landing the odds on his hurdling debut at Stratford (16.3f) 23 days ago and is open to improvement. Smart bumper performer and couldn't have impressed more on his hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (66/1 -267%) Forcing Bull |
66/1(-267%) | (4) Forcing Bull 66/1, Point winner who left his disappointing bumper debut effort well behind when scoring on hurdles bow at Sedgefield (16.8f, heavy) in March. Made the most of a very easy opportunity over the same C&D 9 days later dropped away quickly on handicap debut at Ayr on final start. His latest run was too bad to be true but he has a lot to prove at this level. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
Some smart prospects go to post, with slight preference for KAMSINAS, who ran well when second behind subsequent Greatwood runner-up Lookaway in a Grade 2 at Cheltenham last month and can build on that. Bowenspark rates as the biggest danger after winning as he liked at Stratford, with any amount of improvement expected following that impressive hurdling bow. Primoz got off the mark at Ayr on his first run under Rules and he should also be in the shake-up.
KAMSINAS built on his impressive hurdling debut success when runner-up in a Cheltenham Grade 2 last month, so is the obvious choice with further progress on the cards. Bowenspark has hinted on more than one occasion that he isn't totally straightforward, but he clearly possesses plenty of ability and ought to make his presence felt up in grade, while Primoz shouldn't be taken lightly either having shown lots of speed when making a winning hurdling debut at Ayr 3 weeks ago.
Kamsinas is hard to knock on his Cheltenham form but impressive Stratford winner BOWENSPARK looks exciting.

Several of these are interesting prospects and expensive point-to-point winner Mossy Fen Park has stacks of potential. Jhentong Enki also struck between the flags and was a fair third at Roscommon on his timber bow, while Brennus Lescribaa is another with some hurdling experience to call upon now and rates as the pick of Gordon Elliott's two contenders. However, it is difficult to get away from PREDATORS GOLD, who impressed in a bumper at the Festival here in April and could be one of Willie Mullins' more interesting novices this term.
PREDATORS GOLD looked a good prospect when making a successful bumper debut at this course 7 months ago and is taken to maintain his unbeaten record now switched to hurdling. Mossy Fen Park is a fascinating Rules debutant having changed hands for big money after winning his second start in Irish points in easy fashion, while Jhentong Enki and Doctor Elvis are others to consider in an intriguing maiden.
It was an impressive performance from PREDATORS GOLD in the Goffs Defender Bumper when last seen and that's the key piece of form

1st (1) (4/5 -142%) Chianti Classico |
4/5(-142%) | (1) Chianti Classico 4/5, Bumper winner who passed first 3 tests over hurdles with flying colours. Outclassed in Albert Bartlett at the Cheltenham Festival but resumed winning ways/progress back in much calmer waters on chase bow at Chepstow on return. Excellent chance of following up with his 2 opponents out of the weights. Won chase debut without much fuss; 8lb higher but has potential and faces only two rivals. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (2/1 +60%) Scrum Diddly |
2/1(+60%) | (2) Scrum Diddly 2/1, Progressive over hurdles for Oliver Sherwood but failed to meet expectations starting out for this yard after 5 months off at Newbury on chase bow 16 days ago, soon done with. Clearly better than that. 2 lb out of the handicap. 112 in handicap hurdles; tailed-off favourite on recent chase debut; 2lb out of handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (9/2 +18%) Llandinabo Lad |
9/2(+18%) | (3) Llandinabo Lad 9/2, Useful hurdler. Not quite so good over fences but stepped up on reappearance run when second to a potentially smart sort at Ludlow. 4 lb out of the handicap. 4lb out of handicap; well treated on form late in 2022; doubts on recent form and new trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
There was plenty to like about CHIANTI CLASSICO's first attempt over fences at Chepstow when jumping with real enthusiasm before staying on strongly to win in fine style. The manner of victory suggested the 8lb rise was more than warranted for Kim Bailey's gelding and this appears to be a fine opportunity for him to take another step up the ladder. Scrum Diddly, twice a winner over hurdles last season, appears the most likely to chase home the selection, with Llandinabo Lad needing a step up in trip to make a difference.
CHIANTI CLASSICO had found the Albert Bartlett all too much on his final start over hurdles but he created a sufficiently big impression when making a winning chase bow at Chepstow on his return and has an excellent chance of following up with his 2 rivals out of the handicap.
With doubts about the other two, CHIANTI CLASSICO can make it two from two over fences despite giving plenty of weight away.

1st (4) (4/11 +55%) Tellherthename |
4/11(+55%) | (4) Tellherthename 4/11, £200,000 half-brother to useful hurdler Whatsnotoknow and offered plenty to work on when runner-up on his Ascot hurdle debut (15.7f) 3 weeks ago. Sure to progress and win races. £200,000 buy after Irish point win; pipped in a novice hurdle at Ascot (1m7f, soft). |

2nd (3) (7/1 -155%) Lucky Place |
7/1(-155%) | (3) Lucky Place 7/1, €48,000 3-y-o. Half-brother to 4 winners, including fairly useful hurdler/chaser Ultra Lucky. Shaped like a stayer when second in a C&D bumper 6 months ago and, although longer trips will suit better in time, he still warrants plenty of respect making hurdling bow for top yard. Bumper 2nd here was nothing special but he should improve and represents a top yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (9/2 +18%) Zain Nights |
9/2(+18%) | (7) Zain Nights 9/2, Useful and consistent on Flat (stays 2¼m), creditable effort last time. Subsequently sold from Harry & Roger Charlton for 75,000 gns. Interesting hurdling debutant for in-form yard. Stayed 2m when useful (best of these) and consistent on Flat; left Charltons for 75,000gns. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (12/1 -20%) Jour D'Evasion |
12/1(-20%) | (2) Jour D'Evasion 12/1, Shaped quite well in a bumper on debut and did so again sent hurdling in first-time tongue strap after 5 months off when third of 16 at Ludlow 30 days ago. Open to improvement. 22-1, third of 16 in a novice at Ludlow (2m, good to soft), no match for the first two. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (25/1 +0%) Soigneux Bell |
25/1(+0%) | (9) Soigneux Bell 25/1, Made a winning debut on the Flat in France in May and ran to a fair level when second in a 1¼m Epsom novice on his first run for Gary Moore. Pulled too hard when a well-held sixth on his Kempton hurdle debut but should improve, particularly if settling better. Fair Flat form (two starts); needs to settle and jump better than on Kempton hurdles debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (125/1 -279%) Bridge |
125/1(-279%) | (8) Bridge 125/1, Modest maiden on the Flat for Brian Meehan but comfortably held both starts over hurdles. Needs this for a handicap mark. Poor in both Flat runs this year and the same in his two hurdle races for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (50/1 -257%) West Warhorse |
50/1(-257%) | (6) West Warhorse 50/1, Brother to useful hurdler/very smart chaser Western Warhorse. Has shaped with some promise in a trio of bumpers but needs a step forward on this switch to hurdling. None of his bumper form (three races) suggests he's the one to be on yet. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (100/1 -100%) Total Lockdown |
100/1(-100%) | (5) Total Lockdown 100/1, Fair on Flat (stays 1½m) but ran below form on most recent outing and would be an unlikely winner on hurdle debut. Hood retained. Usually hooded; fit from the Flat (1-19; fair form) and not totally dismissed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (66/1 +34%) Gino's Girl |
66/1(+34%) | (10) Gino's Girl 66/1, Modest maiden on Flat (stays 2m), mid-field in handicap last time. Easy to look elsewhere. Modest six-race maiden on the Flat, tried at up to 2m; needs a transformation. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (300/1 -809%) Eklil |
300/1(-809%) | (1) Eklil 300/1, Fairly useful on Flat (stays 11.5f), won in June, but disappointed only outing since. Subsequently sold from Rae Guest's yard for 15,000 gns. Hooded. Left Rae Guest for 15,000gns in September; fair middle-distance Flat performer; now hooded. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Zain Nights, an 89-rated Flat handicapper for Roger Charlton, looks an interesting recruit to hurdling for Lucy Wadham, but it's still hard to look beyond expensive point-to-point winner TELLHERTHENAME, who produced a performance full of promise to push the highly-regarded Jango Baie close at Ascot on his recent hurdles debut. It's still early days for Jour D'evasion and Lucky Place but both have already shown enough to merit some consideration in an event like this.
TELLHERTHENAME was well backed and shaped with plenty of encouragement when runner-up on his Ascot hurdle debut 3 weeks ago and should take a bit of stopping with improvement on the cards. Zain Nights, a useful and consistent Flat performer, is an interesting hurdling debutant, with Jour d'Evasion entitled to build on his Ludlow third.
This looks a good opportunity for TELLHERTHENAME who lost out by a nose at Ascot. Zain Nights is useful on the Flat.

Capable of getting involved off his current mark. Hood back on. Well handicapped and more than capable but frustrating; draw hasn't been kind. |

5th (8) (20/1 -150%) Recon Mission |

Not in the same form as previous outing when seventh of 11 in handicap at Sandown (5f, good to firm, 12/1) 71 days ago. Mark has eased further, but others still more persuasive. C&D winner; well drawn and on a dangerous mark so not ruled out after a ten-week break. |

7th (6) (9/1 -64%) Harb |
9/1(-64%) | (6) Harb 9/1, C&D winner. C&D winner; in good form on turf when last seen; more appealing than most. |

8th (4) (18/1 -50%) Lulworth Cove |
18/1(-50%) | (4) Lulworth Cove 18/1, Successful here in June. However, she hasn't been in the same form since, ninth of 10 in handicap (18/1) at Kempton (6f) 40 days ago. Cheekpieces applied as she makes first run for yard after leaving Richard Hannon. Course win (6f) in June came off higher mark; mixed since; headgear on for stable debut. |

9th (1) (33/1 -500%) Speedacus |
33/1(-500%) | (1) Speedacus 33/1, Three wins from 12 runs this year. Below-par sixth of 11 in handicap at Leicester (5f, good, 18/5) 46 days ago, but had been in good form previously so could bounce back. First run for yard after leaving David O'Meara. Three 5f turf wins for D O'Meara this year; well drawn on stable debut; AW form patchy. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Harb returns to the all-weather following a short break and he is one to note, but a fighting-fit HOLKHAM BAY gets the nod. He came agonizingly close to supplementing his Kempton success at Chelmsford two weeks ago and, despite a further 1lb rise, looks sure to be in the firing line again. Alexi Boy remains unexposed and is worthy of consideration, as is the Oisin Murphy-ridden Betweenthesticks.
HOLKHAM BAY has shown improved form on his last 2 starts, headed only close home at Chelmsford a fortnight ago, so he is taken to resume winning ways in his current mood. The main danger could be Harb, who shaped as if still in top form when third at Goodwood on his latest outing, while Speedacus also enters calculations.
With two key players drawn widest, perhaps HARB will be the answer. He was at the top of his game on turf when last seen.

15/8(+0%) | (4) Real Stone 15/8, Left opening pair of exploits over fences in his wake when successful at Ffos Las in January and matched that form when second at Uttoxeter (20f) in April. Respectable fourth on return (following wind op) at Aintree (15.8f) 2 weeks ago and he's one to be interested in. May have needed his reappearance fourth and he has potential off his current mark. |

2nd (3) (22/1 -100%) Daly Tiger |
22/1(-100%) | (3) Daly Tiger 22/1, Very smart chaser in his pomp for Noel Meade. Not got near that level in handful of starts for present yard but did at least hint at a revival before stamina run dry over extended 3m at Aintree 4 weeks ago. Task now is to build on that effort. Nothing like the force of old but showed some spark over 3m1f at Aintree before weakening. |

3rd (5) (11/2 +27%) Fearless |
11/2(+27%) | (5) Fearless 11/2, Lightly raced on the back of success at Aintree (15.8f) last June, and he again ran well when third of 10 in handicap chase at Sedgefield (17f) in October, plenty to do home turn and staying on gradually. May not have reached his limit in this sphere but this understandably tougher. Has returned from a layoff in good form; up in grade here but might not be far away. |

Teed himself up nicely for a return to chasing with a good fourth over hurdles at Carlisle (20f) 3 weeks ago and worth considering from handy mark. Made an encouraging recent comeback over hurdles and he's on a handy mark; contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (10/3 -67%) Pay The Piper |
10/3(-67%) | (2) Pay The Piper 10/3, Successful from 3 lb lower mark at Musselburgh (15.8f) in February and produced another good effort when fifth in Red Rum handicap in April. Unseated early on return in October but entitled to be sharper for his run on heavy ground at Kelso (17f) 4 weeks ago. On a good mark on last season's form and he could improve for last month's outing at Kelso. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
CHEDDLETON returns to the larger obstacles and runs off 4lb lower than his last chase start, when beaten just over two lengths into second at Wetherby last Christmas. The Jennie Candlish-trained eight-year-old shaped as if he needed the run when fourth over 2m4f over hurdles at Carlisle earlier this month and should benefit from the run. Pay The Piper is feared most having been given a chance by the handicapper, while Real Stone is also noted.
An intriguing small-field affair with the narrow vote in favour of Dan Skelton's REAL STONE. Successful at Ffos Las in January, he shaped as if he would come on for his reappearance effort at Aintree 2 weeks ago and there's a strong suspicion he remains on a good mark. Cheddleton, with an encouraging hurdles return under his belt, and Pay The Piper, from an easing mark, head up the dangers.
The Dan Skelton-trained REAL STONE could be on a good mark judged on his second at Uttoxeter in April. Cheddleton is a danger.

1st (6) (4/11 +18%) Gaelic Warrior |
4/11(+18%) | (6) Gaelic Warrior 4/11, Smart hurdler. Career best when winning 9-runner War of Attrition Novices' Hurdle (4/5) at this course (23.8f, good to soft) by 10 lengths from Affordale Fury, forging clear. Very exciting chase prospect. Smart novice hurdler; took out 3m Grade 1 here when last seen; has a clear class edge. |

2nd (7) (4/1 +43%) Inothewayurthinkin |
4/1(+43%) | (7) Inothewayurthinkin 4/1, Promising individual. Second of 11 in novice chase at Fairyhouse (16.5f, heavy, 11/4) on debut over fences 18 days ago, staying on strongly from the last. Step back up in trip promises to suit and he's open to improvement. Useful novice hurdler; highly promising start to his chase career when 2nd this month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (9/1 -38%) Senior Chief |
9/1(-38%) | (9) Senior Chief 9/1, Point winner/Useful dual scorer at 22f over hurdles. 10/3, creditable third of 12 in minor event hurdle at this course (19.8f, good to soft). Off 7 months. Good prospect now chasing. Point winner; won maiden hurdle here and novice hurdle last term; should take to fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (8/1 -14%) Cool Survivor |
8/1(-14%) | (3) Cool Survivor 8/1, Promising type. Second of 10 in novice chase at Limerick (19f, heavy, 7/4) on debut over fences 34 days ago, edged out near finish but well clear of remainder. Fancied to be in the mix. Smart form over timber and highly promising chase debut last month; should progress. |

5th (1) (18/1 +0%) An Epic Song |
18/1(+0%) | (1) An Epic Song 18/1, Useful hurdler who posted a career-best effort when just touched off in last season's Coral Cup (21f) at the Festival. Not in quite the same form here (19f) the following month and the betting may prove a useful guide now attentions switch to chasing. Won h'cap hurdle at this venue; narrowly denied in last year's Coral Cup; chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (40/1 -150%) Figaroc |
40/1(-150%) | (5) Figaroc 40/1, Fairly useful winner at 19f over hurdles. Carried out in handicap hurdle at this course (16.2f, good to soft, 12/1) in April. Overall profile over hurdles was a positive one but he may well have to settle for a minor role on chasing bow. Maiden hurdle winner; bright prospect but plenty to find and yard's second-string. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (100/1 -25%) Daily Present |
100/1(-25%) | (4) Daily Present 100/1, Useful winner at 2ff over hurdles during 2021/22 campaign. However, very lightly raced since and rates a likely type for handicaps in this sphere judged on his pair of efforts in maiden chase company in recent weeks. Beat Bronn in novice hurdle 2 seasons ago; tailed off in 2 starts over fences. |

8th (11) (250/1 -25%) Celebrating Katie |
250/1(-25%) | (11) Celebrating Katie 250/1, Last of 9 in novice chase at Down Royal (19.6f, soft, 200/1) 15 days ago, always behind. Hard to make a case for. Shown very little under rules so far including since going over fences on last two starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (250/1 -67%) Bushmans Pass |
250/1(-67%) | (2) Bushmans Pass 250/1, Bumper winner on Rules debut for Michael Shannery during spring of last year but well beaten in maiden hurdle/2 tries over fences for this stable. Can only be watched. Bumper winner but shown little since and tailed off in two runs over fences this season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (12) (125/1 -213%) Soldaro |
125/1(-213%) | (12) Soldaro 125/1, Promising individual. Fair winner at 19f over hurdles. 28/1, sixth of 9 in novice chase at Down Royal (19.6f, soft) 15 days ago. Should have more to offer in this sphere but handicaps likely to be more her bag. Some minor promise in beginners' company this term but would need a major step forward. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (250/1 -213%) One Horse Army |
250/1(-213%) | (8) One Horse Army 250/1, Modest hurdler. 14/1, ninth of 15 in novice chase at Thurles (20.9f, soft) on debut over fences in March, always behind. This a very stiff task on return to action and low-grade handicaps will be more his bag in this sphere. Tailed off on chase debut when last seen and well below the level of form required. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
All eyes will be on GAELIC WARRIOR, who already heads the ante-post market for the Brown Advisory ahead of this first over the larger obstacles. The five-year-old's only defeat last term came when chasing home potential superstar stablemate Impaire Et Passe in the Ballymore, after which he ran away from his rivals when upped to 3m in a Grade 1 here. Inothewayurthinkin is feared most after an eyecatching second behind Imagine over the extended 2m at Fairyhouse, while Cool Survivor can build on his chasing bow, when making Quilixios pull out all the stops at Limerick.
GAELIC WARRIOR landed 4 of his 5 starts over hurdles last term, runner-up in the Ballymore at Cheltenham prior to bagging Grade 1 glory himself here in April. An exciting prospect for his all-conquering yard, he looks the way to go on chase debut. Inothewayurthinkin and Cool Survivor, both of whom boast chase experience, rate the chief threats, with Senior Chief and An Epic Song others to keep an eye on.
GAELIC WARRIOR (nap) will be hard to beat if he takes to fences having looked in a different league to these rivals over timber

4/1(-113%) | (1) Farnoge 4/1, Runner-up on his sole outing in Irish points and 2-2 under Rules, namely a Uttoxeter bumper in March and 17f Newton Abbot novice hurdle last month. Could be plenty more to come for top yard. Won bumper at Uttoxeter (2m, soft) and a novice at Newton Abbot (2m1f, heavy); promising. |

2nd (3) (3/1 +25%) Leader In The Park |
3/1(+25%) | (3) Leader In The Park 3/1, Cost £250,000 after making a winning start to his point career in February. Interesting recruit for new connections. The betting should help guide to expectations. Evens, left miles clear in an Irish maiden point; sold for £250,000 later in February. |

3rd (5) (5/4 -14%) Excello |
5/4(-14%) | (5) Excello 5/4, Useful form over hurdles and fences at up to 2¾m in France, including a win over fences at Auteuil in March. Sets a good standard for a yard seeking a third win in this race since 2018. Front-running in France; Listed chase second; off since April; sets the standard on form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (11/1 +56%) Genietoile |
11/1(+56%) | (2) Genietoile 11/1, Point winner who showed promise on the first of 2 outings in Ffos Las bumpers in the spring. Ran to a fair level when fifth of 16 on his Chepstow hurdle debut last month. Has potential but needs a good chunk of improvement to get very competitive here. 5th of 16 in maiden hurdle at Chepstow (2m3f, good to soft) last month; needs better again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (7/1 +56%) Saladins Son |
7/1(+56%) | (4) Saladins Son 7/1, Bought for £95,000 after landing a maiden point at the end of last year and has shown promise when reaching the frame in a Taunton bumper and Chepstow maiden hurdle for new yard 8 months apart, with the reopposing Genietoile 1¾ lengths behind him in latter. Won Irish maiden point; significant ability in Taunton bumper and Chepstow maiden hurdle. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
Nicky Henderson's French recruit Excello and Leader In The Park - an expensive recruit from the pointing ranks for Ben Pauling - are two fascinating participants here, but a race-fit FARNOGE could take some stopping. Paul Nicholls' bumper winner produced a professional performance to score on his hurdling debut at Newton Abbot recently and, with that experience to draw upon, a penalty may not be insurmountable with this stiffer test likely to play to his strengths.
EXCELLO sets the bar quite high on his French form and can make the most of the weight he receives from Newton Abbot winner Farnoge. Expensive point recruit Leader In The Pack could also have a say if the betting vibes are strong.
Farnogue is 2-2 for Paul Nicholls and is highly regarded but Nicky Henderson's new recruit EXCELLO has the better chance on form.

1st (3) (4/5 +12%) Sashenka |
4/5(+12%) | (3) Sashenka 4/5, Fairly useful on the Flat and similar merit over hurdles, battling well for a second success over timber in handicap at Newbury (20.5f) in March. Back on the level, met with interference when seventh at Goodwood (2m) when last seen in May. Leading contender on her chase debut. Flat bred; the one to beat if her 2m4f hurdles form is transferred to fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (5/2 +55%) Impression Chic |
5/2(+55%) | (1) Impression Chic 5/2, Ex-pointer who stepped up on her hurdles form when making a winning chase debut in a first-time tongue strap at Fontwell in October. Good second at Musselburgh (20.3f) next time, before racing freely upped in trip at Leicester (22.7f) 5 days ago. Can give her running again. Has done well switched to fences but two of these rivals have much better hurdles form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (10/3 -122%) Holly Hartingo |
10/3(-122%) | (2) Holly Hartingo 10/3, Runner-up in an Irish point and scored at the second attempt over hurdles in novice at this course (20.7f) in January 2022. Lightly raced since, having only one outing last season before pulled up on her chase debut here (23.6f) in October. It remains early days over fences, though. A leading contender on hurdles evidence but pulled up on chase debut here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (80/1 -142%) Stop This Train |
80/1(-142%) | (4) Stop This Train 80/1, Placed once from 4 starts in Irish points but has offered little in a trio of maiden hurdles, finishing well held on her only completed outing at Fakenham (20f) 12 days ago. Looks to be up against it on her chase debut. Runner-up in one of four Irish points; no worthwhile form in three hurdle races. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
SASHENKA was the pick of these over hurdles and this looks an ideal starting point for her chasing debut, particularly in light of the unconvincing, error-strewn effort from her principal ratings rival, Holly Hartingo, on her own fencing bow here last month. Impression Chic has shown up well in some minor handicap chases but faces a stiffer task conceding weight to better-rated rivals in this event.
SASHENKA had been in good form over hurdles earlier this year, showing a willing attitude when scoring at Newbury in March before running creditably at Cheltenham the following month, so she is taken to make a winning start over fences. Holly Hartingo could fare better with her seasonal/chase debut behind her and is feared most, ahead of Impression Chic.
Impression Chic has shown she can jump fences but Sashenka and HOLLY HARTINGO are at least 20lb better judged on hurdles form.

1st (2) (5/1 +29%) Coachello |
5/1(+29%) | (2) Coachello 5/1, Useful gelding. Travelled well but again found less than anticipated when 6 lengths fourth of 7 to My Eyes Adore You in listed race (6/1) at Naas (5.9f, soft) 42 days ago. AW record is good and he looks on workable mark. More miss than hit since Listed win in January but back on good mark for in-form yard. |

2nd (4) (7/1 -27%) Fivethousandtoone |
7/1(-27%) | (4) Fivethousandtoone 7/1, Respectable sixth of 12 in handicap at Kempton (6f) 17 days ago on return from 9-month absence. Shaped as if he'd come for that and he makes plenty of appeal, albeit he could do with cutting out slow starts. Only 2-21 overall but he may have needed recent run after a break; very useful on his day. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (9/4 +25%) Baldomero |
9/4(+25%) | (6) Baldomero 9/4, Twenty one runs since last win in 2022 but has been shaping up really well of late, picked off by one ridden further away from strong gallop when second of 8 in handicap at Chelmsford City (6f) 4 days ago. Lots to like again. Infrequent winner but arrives in top form after three good placed efforts on AW this month. |

4th (7) (9/1 -38%) Master Zoffany |
9/1(-38%) | (7) Master Zoffany 9/1, In first-time cheekpieces, creditable fifth of 11 in handicap (12/1) at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 29 days ago. Makes polytrack debut. Can give a good account without posing serious threat to principals. Third Chester win in September; closely matched with Street Kid on latest effort. |

5th (1) (9/2 +0%) Misty Grey |
9/2(+0%) | (1) Misty Grey 9/2, Eleven runs since last win in 2022. Respectable third of 6 in minor event at Kempton (6f, 5/1) 52 days ago, running on. Still yet to fully fire this year and others are preferred. Not at very best lately but this five-time AW winner would be dangerous if staging revival. |

6th (5) (7/2 +0%) Street Kid |
7/2(+0%) | (5) Street Kid 7/2, Latest win at Haydock in September. 11/2, creditable fourth of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 29 days ago. Makes appeal from same mark. Turf win in September; creditable fourth back on AW latest; unlikely to be far away. |

7th (3) (40/1 -344%) Mqse De Maintenon |
40/1(-344%) | (3) Mqse De Maintenon 40/1, Useful performer in France, only beaten narrowly in listed race at Chantilly in May. Not in same form at Marseilles Borely last time and has since left Fabrice Vermeulen for €185,000. Best watched dropping back in trip. Two wins in France (including AW) came over further; best watched on British debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
Slow starts have certainly been hindering Fivethousandtoone and stepping up from 6f could prove a wise move, but MISTY GREY looks a much more solid option. He arrives following a narrow defeat in a conditions event at Kempton and his class may shine through now back in handicap company. Street Kid and Baldomero have both been in good form and add further spice to the race.
BALDOMERO was value for extra when runner-up at Chelmsford on Tuesday, doing well to sustain his effort for so long having raced on the shoulder of a strong gallop, so he gets the nod over Street Kid, who backed up his Haydock success with another good effort at Wolverhampton. Fivethousandtoone should also be sharper with a run now under his belt and is respected.
A useful but rather trappy handicap. BALDOMERO's poor strike-rate hardly makes him one for maximum faith but he arrives in top form.

1st (10) (3/1 +60%) Park Annonciade |
3/1(+60%) | (10) Park Annonciade 3/1, Went the wrong way in bumpers but building up a solid record over hurdles, finding some improvement back under less testing conditions when successful at Ayr (2m) 3 weeks ago, running on. Possible there's a little more to come from him up in trip. Gamely won at Ayr three weeks ago and that form has been boosted; might be the answer. |

2nd (3) (16/1 -88%) Stainsby Girl |
16/1(-88%) | (3) Stainsby Girl 16/1, Excellent start for this yard last season, landing this corresponding race and dispelled pair of lesser efforts to land back-to-back Newcastle handicaps in the spring. Seemed to find listed company too much on return but more needed from career-high mark in any case. Doughty front-runner; stiff task on reappearance; won this race last year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (5/1 -11%) Carnfunnock |
5/1(-11%) | (7) Carnfunnock 5/1, Lightly-raced 6-y-o who relished the increase in trip when doubling his hurdles tally at Naas (19f) in March. Not seen to best effect when third in listed novice at Perth (3m) on final start in April but he's of interest returned to handicaps on seasonal bow. Progressive; has added two hurdles wins to two in bumpers and still has untapped potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (12/1 -33%) Lac De Constance |
12/1(-33%) | (2) Lac De Constance 12/1, Won all 3 starts in novice hurdles, including listed Exeter event, in 2021/22 before making a winning start over fences at Kempton. Let down by jumping subsequently over the larger obstacles but feasible to think he'll come on for last month's return over hurdles at Aintree. One to note. Needs to step up markedly on form of Aintree reappearance but it's possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (6/1 +33%) Luttrell Lad |
6/1(+33%) | (6) Luttrell Lad 6/1, Ran well to finish eighth in last season's County Hurdle at the Festival and having eased in the weights, ended losing run stretching back to his novice days at Cartmel (17.2f) during the summer. Returns with yard firmly amongst the winners and he's worth a second look. Positively ridden to win handicap at Cartmel; up 7lb but commands respect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (3/1 +25%) Park Hill Dancer |
3/1(+25%) | (9) Park Hill Dancer 3/1, Exeter bumper scorer who matched previous hurdles best when off the mark in a Huntingdon maiden (20.6f) in May and further progress to follow up on handicap debut at Uttoxeter (20f) later that month, overcoming a pace bias. More to come this winter. Rattled off a quick double in May, impressive at Uttoxeter on second occasion; big player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (15/2 -25%) Fingal's Hill |
15/2(-25%) | (8) Fingal's Hill 15/2, Real credit to connections, finding further progress as he extended his winning sequence on return from 6 months off at Carlisle (20f, soft) 3 weeks ago, typically finding plenty. This rates tougher but 4 lb rise shouldn't prevent him making his presence felt again. Thriving 7yo; completed four-timer at Carlisle three weeks ago; unlikely to be far away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (25/1 -108%) Lunar Power |
25/1(-108%) | (1) Lunar Power 25/1, Useful handicapper on the Flat in Ireland who posted a career-best effort (in blinkers) when successful over hurdles at Ballinrobe (22.4f) in May. Creditable midfield effort back from 5 months off on Flat at Naas in October and since joined new yard for €50,000. Not discounted. Five wins Flat and jumps for Noel Meade in Ireland; has to be respected for new stable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (40/1 +0%) Jason The Militant |
40/1(+0%) | (4) Jason The Militant 40/1, Smart hurdler for Henry De Bromhead and also bagged a listed race on the Flat in October 2021. Didn't kick on from a respectable stable debut run here in 2 subsequent outings in the spring and fared no better on return at Cheltenham in October. Tumbling in the weights but has barely beaten a rival on his last three outings. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (5) (16/1 -33%) Albert's Back |
16/1(-33%) | (5) Albert's Back 16/1, C&D winner who enhanced his good record at Wetherby when successful over 2m in March. Confirmed he retain plenty of ability when third on return at that venue (19.7f) earlier this month but he wouldn't be sure to build on that here. C&D scorer; only 3lb above last winning mark but could be vulnerable to younger legs. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
PARK HILL DANCER made a mockery of a mark of 115 when scoring in ready fashion on his handicap debut over 2m4f at Uttoxeter in May and an 8lb rise may not be enough to halt his progression. Nicky Henderson's charge, who dug deep to break his duck at Huntingdon prior to that, is fancied to complete a hat-trick, although Irish raider Carnfunnock has to be feared on his return to the fray. Fingal's Hill is on an upward trajectory and is also respected as he goes for a five-timer.
This is comfortably PARK HILL DANCER's sternest assignment to date but he could hardly have won any easier at Uttoxeter in the spring, overcoming a pace bias in the process. Returning with his leading yard firmly amongst the winners, there's surely more mileage in him from his revised mark. Irish-raider Carnfunnock is a threat down in trip, with Lac de Constance another to keep an eye on. The Likeable Fingal's Hill can also figure.
This represents a step up in class for PARK ANNONCIADE, but he's going the right way and receives lots of weight all round.

Took to fences well when winning 4-runner novice with plenty in hand at Cheltenham on return 4 weeks ago and should go on to better things in this sphere. Won 6-runner novice chase at Galway (22.5f, heavy) on debut over fences 27 days ago by 1½ lengths from Favori De Champdou, bit in hand. Remains an exciting chasing prospect. A decent renewal of this Grade 2 but dual Stayers' Hurdle winner FLOORING PORTER could take some stopping after a highly satisfactory chasing debut at Cheltenham last month when beating Broadway Boy, who gave the form a mighty boost when scoring emphatically last weekend. Affordale Fury also got the job done nicely enough on his chasing bow at Galway and is open to plenty of progress, as is the reappearing Churchstonewarrior, who landed a Grade 2 when last seen in February.
FLOORING PORTER isn't the most obvious chaser on looks and is coming to it relatively late, but he took to it well when making a winning start at Cheltenham on his return and obviously has scope to improve given his hurdling ability. Affordable Fury promises to make a better chase than hurdler so must be feared after beating Favori de Champdou with a bit in hand on his chase bow at Galway.
A cracking novice chase for this stage of the season. FLOORING PORTER' best form is going left-handed but still gets the vote

1st (1) (5/2 -25%) Pic D'Orhy |
5/2(-25%) | (1) Pic D'Orhy 5/2, Only defeat in an excellent 2022/23 campaign came when unable to live with Shishkin over C&D in February. Rounded off the season with a deserved first Grade 1 success at Aintree. Should give a good account but highly likely Shishkin will have too much for him if at the top of his game. Went 4-5 last season (including a Grade 1) but Shishkin beat him easily here in February. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (40/1 +0%) Straw Fan Jack |
40/1(+0%) | (4) Straw Fan Jack 40/1, Had a good first season over fences but his limitations were exposed in Grade 1 novice company in the spring and he's surely up against it again on his reappearance. On these terms, he's clearly relying on all three of his rivals being below their best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (13/2 +54%) Minella Drama |
13/2(+54%) | (3) Minella Drama 13/2, Smart and consistent performer but Pic D'Orhy was 7 lengths ahead of him in Aintree Grade 1 on final start last season. Gave it his usual good shot when second in Old Roan back at Aintree on reappearance but will need Shishkin to underperform if he's to go close here. Rock-solid chaser but twice beaten by Pic D'Orhy in the past and looks vulnerable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|RR| (2) (8/13 +7%) Shishkin |
8/13(+7%) | (2) Shishkin 8/13, Firmly back on track after a wind op when pulling 16 lengths clear of Pic D'Orhy in C&D Grade 1 in February. Jumping errors probably cost him a win in Ryanair at Cheltenham but he underlined what a top-class chaser he is on his day when scoring at Aintree (3m) in April. Cheekpieces on. Hard to beat. Top-class chaser who hammered Pic D'Orhy here in February; hard to beat if at his best. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
SHISHKIN had no problem handling the step up to 3m1f when taking the Aintree Bowl on his most recent outing and that followed his second in the Ryanair at Cheltenham. The nine-year-old readily accounted for his main rival Pic D'Orhy when winning the Ascot Chase over C&D in February and it is hard to see that form being reversed here. Minella Drama and Straw Fan Jack both have plenty to find with the aforementioned pair but the former is the pick of the duo.
If SHISHKIN is on song there'll surely only be one winner. Pic d'Orhy chased home Nicky Henderson's top-class 9-y-o in the Ascot Chase back in February and can fill the forecast spot again.
This is all about SHISHKIN who should take care of these if on his game and can maintain an unbeaten record at Ascot.

1st (1) (9/4 +72%) Beachcomber |
9/4(+72%) | (1) Beachcomber 9/4, Looked useful when winning easily at Chepstow on his second bumper outing but career has been rather stop-start since and hasn't yet bettered the form of his hurdles debut fifth at Worcester. Bit to prove now. Bumper winner; ran okay on hurdling debut but took backward step last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (4/1 -167%) Transmission |
4/1(-167%) | (6) Transmission 4/1, Runner-up at Wexford on debut and got back on track after a couple of lesser efforts when fourth at Tipperary on final outing last year. Well held on debut over fences since, but he'd have a chance if bouncing back on debut for new yard. Had mixed record in Ireland but best form gives him strong claims here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (9/2 +63%) Hey Brother |
9/2(+63%) | (2) Hey Brother 9/2, £75,000 buy from the Irish pointing field and showed fair form when making the frame in a pair of bumpers in the spring. Below that level when tenth of 18 in novice hurdle at Wetherby (19.7f, soft) on hurdles bow 21 days ago but could well do better up in trip. Disappointed on recent hurdling debut but his point/bumper form offers hope. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (9/4 -105%) Mumford's Magic |
9/4(-105%) | (5) Mumford's Magic 9/4, Maiden pointer wasn't beaten far when third at Hexham on second hurdles outing and backed that up another good effort there 15 days ago. Leading player now up in trip. Close second over 2m4f on heavy this month; big player if today's trip/ground suits. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (66/1 +34%) Lindaka |
66/1(+34%) | (4) Lindaka 66/1, Showed ability in a point but there's been little to shout about under Rules so far, shaping as if amiss when up in novice hurdle at Uttoxeter (23.3f, good to soft) in February. Needs to leave previous form well behind. Struggled on both hurdling starts in early part of this year (2m3f/2m7f). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (17/2 +29%) Ideal De Romay |
17/2(+29%) | (3) Ideal De Romay 17/2, Successful at the third attempt in Irish points and shaped as if possessing more ability than the distance beaten would suggest when beaten a long way at Warwick on Rules debut. Big step forward needed, but he looks open to improvement. Irish point winner; showed some promise before tiring quickly on recent hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (50/1 -25%) Warrior's Fate |
50/1(-25%) | (7) Warrior's Fate 50/1, £14,000 5-y-o, Soldier of Fortune gelding. Half-brother to fair hurdler/chaser The Road Home, stays 2¾m. Dam unraced. Placed on last of 3 starts in Irish points. Others preferred. Bought for £14,000 since Irish point third in May; probably best watched on rules debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
MUMFORD'S MAGIC has progressed with each start over hurdles and the five-year-old appears to have been found an excellent opportunity to shed the maiden tag following his recent second at Hexham. Transmission sports cheekpieces for the first time on his UK debut following an underwhelming chase debut at Kilbeggan in the summer. Ideal De Romay and Hey Brother appeal as the types who can leave their recent efforts behind them.
MUMFORD'S MAGIC appeals as the most solid option here after a pair of sound placed efforts at Hexham. Transmission would be able to give him plenty to think about if getting back to the pick of his Irish form on his stable debut for Neil Mulholland, with Beachcomber most appealing of the remainder.
The safest option is MUMFORD'S MAGIC, who shaped as though stamina is his strong suit when going close over 2m4f at Hexham this month.

9/2(+44%) | (5) Achillea 9/2, Winner at Yarmouth in July. 40/1, respectable fifth of 14 in handicap at Newmarket (8f, heavy) 21 days ago. Not dismissed on polytrack debut. Sole win came off this mark; fighting chance if back to that form. |

2nd (2) (7/2 +65%) Jilly Cooper |
7/2(+65%) | (2) Jilly Cooper 7/2, Course winner. 28/1, seventh of 10 in handicap at Chelmsford City (7f) 9 days ago, slowly away. Operating below her best at present. Raced over 7f this year but looks worth another crack at 1m; handy mark. |

9/2(-157%) | (6) Britannica 9/2, Proved to be a disappointment when third of 4 in minor event at Newcastle (7.1f) 18 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Needs to get back on track. Frustrating six-race maiden but may improve for new trip on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (7/1 -17%) Nikki's Girl |
7/1(-17%) | (7) Nikki's Girl 7/1, Course winner. Latest win at Wolverhampton in August and again ran respectably when fourth of 6 in handicap at Chelmsford City (8f) 15 days ago, unable to sustain effort. On a workable mark but has done her winning in lower grades. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (11/2 -38%) Victoria Grove |
11/2(-38%) | (4) Victoria Grove 11/2, Course winner who got back on track following a small break when second of 11 in handicap at Chelmsford City (8f) 42 days ago. Big chance with a repeat. Solid second at Chelmsford on the return to AW; won off 4lb higher last year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (16/5 +20%) Perfect Thunder |
16/5(+20%) | (3) Perfect Thunder 16/5, 12/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, respectable fifth of 12 in handicap at Newmarket (8f, good to firm) 58 days ago. This looks slightly easier and she remains unexposed at the trip. Well treated on best Irish form; possibilities if she takes well to new surface. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (20/1 -67%) Amber Island |
20/1(-67%) | (1) Amber Island 20/1, Returned to form to take advantage of a reduced mark at Leicester in June but has been below form since. Multiple 7f winner; return to 1m isn't an obvious plus; new headgear. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Perfect Thunder has steadily been slipping down the ratings and warrants respect, as does Britannica, who has yet to get her head in front but enters handicap company for the first time now. The vote, however, goes to VICTORIA GROVE. Henry Spiller's filly only found a subsequent winner too good at Chelmsford last time and is effectively 2lb better off with Grace McEntee's claim taken into consideration.
PERFECT THUNDER ran respectably in a slightly stronger race than this on her most recent outing at Newmarket and remains unexposed at the trip, so she's taken to cash in on a reduced mark having her first start on all-weather. Victoria Grove got back on track with a good second at Chelmsford last month and is second choice.
Well-handicapped VICTORIA GROVE (nap) is taken to record a third AW success. Perfect Thunder is second choice.

1st (3) (2/1 -6%) Grey Dawning |
2/1(-6%) | (3) Grey Dawning 2/1, Winner of 3 of his 4 completed starts over hurdles last term, including a Grade 2 at Warwick, and he made a promising chase debut when third of five in novice at Exeter (24.2f, soft) 15 days ago. Can build on it now. Grade 2 novice hurdle winner who is open to improvement on second chase start; player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (6/4 +0%) Gaillard Du Mesnil |
6/4(+0%) | (1) Gaillard Du Mesnil 6/4, Very smart chaser who landed the National Hunt Chase at the Cheltenham Festival before signing off with a fine third in Grand National at Aintree. Effective at shorter trips too under testing conditions so he's the one to beat on his seasonal return. Third in Grand National; sizeable drop back in trip for reappearance but he's a class act. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (2/1 +20%) Apple Away |
2/1(+20%) | (5) Apple Away 2/1, Signed off last season's progressive hurdles campaign with a gutsy front-running display in a Grade 1 3m novice at Aintree Grand National meeting. This former Irish point winner could take high rank among the staying novice chasers this season. Grade 1 novice hurdle winner at Aintree; strong claims if transferring ability to fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (50/1 +0%) Hardy Bloke |
50/1(+0%) | (4) Hardy Bloke 50/1, A fairly useful hurdler/chaser who was running well in second when unseated rider last in handicap chase at Wexford (25.2f, good to soft) 6 months on his final run for Emmet Mullins. Faces a tall order on his yard bow/return. 0-6 over fences; bought for £4,000 in May and he'd be a shock winner on his stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (100/1 -257%) Scipion |
100/1(-257%) | (2) Scipion 100/1, Built on earlier chasing promise when winning handicap at Lingfield in February and ran at least as well when runner-up at Kempton in April. Disappointing in the summer though, offering little on first outing for new connections at Perth in June. This is a very tough ask. Won Lingfield handicap in February but up against it here even if back to his best. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
Last season's National Hunt Chase winner Gaillard Du Mesnil brings bags of fencing experience to the table and he's a fascinating runner for Willie Mullins. However, he has to concede plenty of weight to two very exciting prospects in GREY DAWNING and Apple Away, and this trip is short of his optimum. Apple Away won the Grade 1 Sefton Novices' Hurdle in which Grey Dawning fell at last season's Aintree Festival and she may well improve for a fence, but the latter's recent run could prove crucial. Dan Skelton's charge did nothing but improve throughout the last campaign and a lovely pipe-opener, and first spin over fences, at Exeter will have put him spot-on.
GAILLARD DU MESNIL is ideally suited by longer distances but last year's Grand National third is the clear form pick and still looks the way to go under these testing conditions. Apple Away rates a most interesting fencing newcomer and can chase home Willie Mullins' very smart chaser ahead of Grey Dawning.
Grand National third Gaillard Du Mesnil is a class act but, at this trip, preference is for the promising novice GREY DAWNING.

2nd (4) (15/2 -25%) Mars Harper |
15/2(-25%) | (4) Mars Harper 15/2, 2 wins from 5 runs this season at around 2m6f but failed to get home when tenth of 12 in handicap chase (13/2) at Limerick (24f, heavy) 34 days ago. Tongue strap on 1st time and can bounce back reverted in trip. 3m possibly too far last time; progressive up to that so considered back in trip here. |

3rd (8) (9/1 +44%) Coqolino |
9/1(+44%) | (8) Coqolino 9/1, Useful winner at 16f over hurdles. 12/1, running creditably when fell 2 out in handicap chase at Gowran (16f, heavy) 14 days ago. Significantly back up in trip. Should progress. Better for recent comeback run (despite falling) and this more his trip; respected. |

7/2(+46%) | (1) Adamantly Chosen 7/2, Course winner. 11/1, pulled up in handicap chase at this course (21f, good to soft), pulled up some way out. Off 7 months. Stable having good spell so he enters calculations. Jumped poorly over C&D final start last season; reappears with questions to answer. |

4/1(+60%) | (6) Life In The Park 4/1, 17/2, respectable tenth of 17 in handicap chase at Listowel (24f, soft) 66 days ago. Stable having good spell. Possibilities. Balance of form on better ground; others preferred. |

17/2(+39%) | (5) Upping The Anti 17/2, 9/2, running well in third when fell last in handicap chase at Listowel (22f, soft) 63 days ago. Trainer going well. Considered. Poor recent completion rate; trip/ground concerns too. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (6/1 -200%) Ha D'or |
6/1(-200%) | (2) Ha D'or 6/1, Latest win in chase at Fairyhouse in December. Fell 9th in handicap chase at this course (21.2f, good to soft, 11/10). Off 7 months. Has to be taken seriously off a handy-looking mark for his in-form stable. Halfway faller in valuable C&D handicap at the festival; hard to be confident in. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
A case can be made for most of these but marginal preference is for HA D'OR, who is well handicapped based on the pick of his form as a novice last season. He fell when favourite for a valuable event at this venue when last seen in April, but it would be no surprise to see the six-year-old make amends here. Adamantly Chosen is capable of giving his stablemate plenty to think about, while Idas Boy edges out Mars Harper and Walk Away to be best of the rest.
Plenty with chances but the vote goes to HA D'OR who resumes on a lenient mark and can take full advantage for a yard among the winners. Gordon Elliott's duo Mars Harper and Coqolino both look to have better days ahead of them too and can chase home Willie Mullins' 6-y-o in that order in an intriguing handicap.
Concentrate on two at the foot of the handicap, WALK AWAY narrowly preferred to Coquilino, although both have jumping issues

1st (4) (4/1 +20%) Blueking D'Oroux |
4/1(+20%) | (4) Blueking D'Oroux 4/1, Useful hurdler who returned with a cosy success in 2m novice at Cheltenham 28 days ago. This is much tougher, however. Plenty to find on the figures but he's an unexposed 4yo who looks set for a personal best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (5/2 +64%) Strong Leader |
5/2(+64%) | (3) Strong Leader 5/2, Progressed really well over hurdles last term, winning first 3 starts in novice company at around 2m and signing off with second in Aintree Grade 1. Came in last of 10 though in Ffos Las handicap on his return last month so has a bit to prove now. Needs to bounce back from poor reappearance run but was progressive last term; up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (7/4 +42%) Theatre Glory |
7/4(+42%) | (5) Theatre Glory 7/4, Smart mare who picked up her fifth win over hurdles in Warwick listed event in February. This consistent sort is well on the mix on her seasonal return. Likeable mare who won a Warwick Listed race last term; reappears with yard in top form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (7/1 -300%) Goshen |
7/1(-300%) | (1) Goshen 7/1, Quirky sort but he's very smart at his best and took this event 12 months ago. Back after a recent run on the Flat and he's a big player once more. Unpredictable over the years but won this 12 months ago; big chance if repeating that form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (9/1 -80%) Sceau Royal |
9/1(-80%) | (2) Sceau Royal 9/1, Very smart hurdler/chaser but he resumed with a below-par fourth in 2m Kempton listed hurdle last month. This likeable veteran is the sort to bounce back though. Excellent servant for many years but age finally seems to be catching up with him. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
Goshen won this race in blistering fashion 12 months ago and a repeat of that form would make him tough to beat today, but he can be very hard to predict, despite being the highest rated of these rivals. Therefore, the more solid proposition of THEATRE GLORY is fancied to reverse the form with Gary Moore's runner after little separated the pair in the Grade 2 Select Hurdle over the extended 2m5f at Sandown in April. Nicky Henderson's charge (third) might have gone closer than the selection (second) in that race had she benefitted from more luck in running and she has gone well fresh in the past. Blueking D'oroux could be up to this step up in class, while Sceau Royal isn't ruled out if he can return to form.
Gary Moore's GOSHEN has his quirks but he's highly talented at his best and off the back of a recent Flat run is fancied to follow up his success in this contest 12 months ago. Nicky Henderson's consistent mare Theatre Glory rates the chief threat ahead of the likeable veteran Sceau Royal.
The 4yo BLUEKING D'OROUX is not an obvious candidate on ratings but has plenty of potential and could spring a minor surprise.

Big shout nudged up just 1 lb. Clear second to well-treated rival at Plumpton this month; likely contender again here. |

2nd (11) (16/1 -100%) Casi Crudo |
16/1(-100%) | (11) Casi Crudo 16/1, Fair maiden on Flat for Charlie & Mark Johnston and off the mark over hurdles in juvenile at Market Rasen in December. Resumed with a good second in 2m Ludlow handicap so he's very much one to consider. Signed off with creditable second at Ludlow in May; major player if fully tuned up here. |

7/1(-27%) | (3) Bubble Dubi 7/1, Let down by his jumping when third of 4 in handicap chase at Uttoxeter (16f, soft, 11/10) on debut over fences 48 days ago. Quickly switches to hurdles and this fairly useful 2m scorer can't be ruled out. Flopped on recent chase debut but his spring hurdling form makes him of strong interest. |

4th (12) (9/1 -29%) Welsh Charger |
9/1(-29%) | (12) Welsh Charger 9/1, Fairly useful hurdler who landed the odds in 2m novice at Ludlow when last seen out in March. Goes handicapping on his return and he's one for the shortlist. 2-4 as a novice last season and could easily have more to offer in handicaps this term. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (9/1 +10%) Shetland Tony |
9/1(+10%) | (4) Shetland Tony 9/1, Drew a blank in 5 outings for Gordon Elliott but returned an improved performer for his new stable when easily taking 2m Stratford novice. Only tenth in Cheltenham handicap since but still can't be discounted. Wide-margin maiden winner on stable debut; safely held in warm Cheltenham handicap since. |

6th (9) (22/1 +33%) Galahad Threepwood |
22/1(+33%) | (9) Galahad Threepwood 22/1, Fairly useful winner on the Flat for Mick Channon who opened his account over hurdles in 19.4f Doncaster handicap in March. Below-form seventh on his return at Sandown though so needs to get back on track. Well beaten on recent seasonal debut and has a lot more to prove than some of these. |

9th (7) (6/1 +50%) Black Hawk Eagle |
6/1(+50%) | (7) Black Hawk Eagle 6/1, Fairly useful Flat/hurdles winner for Noel Meade who was in good form when last seen out in the summer. Merits consideration for his new yard. Better than ever on the Flat in Ireland this year; back hurding for new stable. |

|PU| (1) (40/1 +0%) Jante Law |
40/1(+0%) | (1) Jante Law 40/1, Off 20 months before coming in only ninth of 11 in handicap hurdle (40/1) at Carlisle (17.2f, soft) 30 days ago. A fairly useful winner at his best but he has it to prove now. Seen only twice again since pair of Hexham novice wins in spring 2021; hard to weigh up. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
WELSH CHARGER is yet to finish out of the first two in four outings over timber, with both of his victories coming at Ludlow, and the five-year-old makes plenty of appeal on his handicap bow. Hidden Beauty won on her penultimate outing at Doncaster and is another strong contender, while Black Hawk Eagle is of considerable interest making his first start for Kerry Lee.
PARC D'AMOUR rates the pick of these weights put up only 1 lb for his excellent Plumpton second so looks the way to go in this competitive handicap. Bubble Dubi heads the list of dangers quickly reverted to this sphere after jumping poorly on his Uttoxeter chasing debut, although the returning pair Hidden Beauty and Welsh Charger merit respect too along with Kerry Lee's new recruit Black Hawk Eagle.
Last month's chasing debut didn't go to plan but BUBBLE DUBI (nap) remains open to further improvement on this quick return to hurdling

1st (4) (6/1 +8%) Warren Hill |
6/1(+8%) | (4) Warren Hill 6/1, Winner at Nottingham in August. 9/2, respectable fourth of 11 in handicap at Kempton (11f) 19 days ago. Can give good account without posing serious threat to principals. Opened her account the last time she raced in this grade; possibilities. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (7/1 +13%) Royal Dream |
7/1(+13%) | (9) Royal Dream 7/1, C&D winner. Latest win at Wolverhampton in August. Found run of good form coming to halt when seventh of 13 in handicap at Kempton (8f, 5/1) 17 days ago. Needs to bounce back. C&D winner this summer; could go well, being proven in this scenario. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (2/1 +44%) Tiger Beetle |
2/1(+44%) | (2) Tiger Beetle 2/1, Arrives after a pair of 9.5f victories at Wolverhampton, the latter rating as a career best. Up another 3 lb and he's likely to go well again with Murphy in the saddle. May complete a hat-trick provided he transfers Wolverhampton form to new scenario. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (3/1 +31%) Falcon Nine |
3/1(+31%) | (6) Falcon Nine 3/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 4/1, respectable fourth of 11 in handicap at Ripon (9.8f, good to firm), albeit seeming unsuited by step up in trip. Still low mileage and connections persevere over this distance. Well bred and should do better still; looks interesting on return from five-month break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (18/1 +0%) Hi Clare |
18/1(+0%) | (7) Hi Clare 18/1, Latest win at Pontefract in June. Again below best when 4½ lengths eighth of 10 to Tiger Beetle in handicap (16/1) at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 11 days ago. Makes polytrack debut. Others preferred. Drops in grade off a workable mark; new trip; fighting chance on best form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (11/1 +44%) Masqool |
11/1(+44%) | (8) Masqool 11/1, C&D winner. 13/2, respectable fifth of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 19 days ago, not ideally placed. Generally consistent sort and he holds frame claims. Exposed sort but recorded two wins off slightly higher marks in the spring. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (11) (40/1 +0%) Merry Minister |
40/1(+0%) | (11) Merry Minister 40/1, Won minor event at Thirsk in June but has finished down the field in handicaps since and looked hard ride last time. Hard to fancy. Has struggled in handicaps; enough to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (11/2 -63%) Shoot To Kill |
11/2(-63%) | (1) Shoot To Kill 11/2, Course winner. Latest win here in September. 10/3, creditable third of 12 in handicap at this course (7f, AW) 18 days ago. Holding form well at present and he's a player if seeing out longer trip. Solid record (at 7f/1m) since returned to AW; new trip presents a question mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (80/1 +0%) Seaborn |
80/1(+0%) | (10) Seaborn 80/1, Six wins from 20 Flat runs. Off 28 months/first run since leaving Gary Moore when tenth of 13 in handicap (100/1) at Kempton (12f) 31 days ago. Hard to know how ability he retains. Still needs to prove he retains peak ability; second run back from layoff. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
SHOOT TO KILL enjoys it here and after a close-up third over 7f earlier this month, he has strong claims of registering a fourth Lingfield victory. Robyn Brisland's charge runs off the same mark and this extra yardage shouldn't be an issue. Tiger Beetle has solid claims of notching the hat-trick after successive wins at Wolverhampton, although a further 3lb rise may be tough to defy, while the returning Falcon Nine is worthy of a closer look.
TIGER BEETLE is still fairly weighted on bits of his form for his former yard and can land the hat-trick at the chief expense of. Shoot To Kill, who would definitely pose a threat if seeing out this longer trip. Falcon Nine is unexposed.
Nicely bred FALCON NINE should still prove capable of better at this level and gets the vote ahead of Warren Hill.

1st (10) (11/4 +21%) Slate Lane |
11/4(+21%) | (10) Slate Lane 11/4, Much improved for Emmet Mullins, readily making it 3-3 for the stable in 3¼m Newton Abbot handicap in September. The handicapper hasn't missed him with a further 14 lb rise but there's a good chance he still has plenty more to come for this yard. 3-3 for Emmet Mullins (3m2f latest); even today's 14lb rise might not have his measure. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (13) (22/1 -38%) Fine Margin |
22/1(-38%) | (13) Fine Margin 22/1, Showed promise in maiden/novice hurdles at up to 2½m for Matthew Daly in Ireland last season. Has been the subject of a very interesting trainer change and it'll be fascinating to see how much strength there is behind him in the market now handicapping over a longer trip on his reappearance. Handicap/seasonal debut; a lot more is needed; switch to Willie Mullins catches the eye. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (5/1 -43%) Crambo |
5/1(-43%) | (5) Crambo 5/1, Dual bumper winner who took his hurdle record to 4-6 when readily seeing off the reopposing Santos Blue in 2½m Aintree handicap on reappearance 4 weeks ago. Remains of interest after a 6 lb rise and this longer trip could suit him. Asserted late on for both 2m4f handicap wins and this trip could help; raised another 6lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (14/1 +0%) Gowel Road |
14/1(+0%) | (4) Gowel Road 14/1, Very useful hurdler in 2021/122. Absent since easily winning a small-field Ascot handicap chase 13 months ago but has been given a bit of a chance by the handicapper and returns with his yard in fine form. Unraced beyond 2m5f and has first run for 392 days but his stable has been going well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (12/1 +14%) Bold Endeavour |
12/1(+14%) | (1) Bold Endeavour 12/1, Won twice in this sphere as a novice for Laura Morgan and successful first 2 starts over fences for Nicky Henderson last season. Posted some good efforts back hurdling in the spring and made a solid return from 6 months off when third of 11 at Newbury recently, although Emitom was ahead in second. Highly competitive in handicaps back over hurdles and was second of 16 over C&D in May. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (14) (11/1 -38%) Lord Snootie |
11/1(-38%) | (14) Lord Snootie 11/1, Improver when sent handicapping last season, including a 3¼m win at Warwick. Yet to be asked for his effort when all but coming down at the second last on his Galway reappearance 4 weeks ago. Remains capable of better and an interesting contender. Bad late mistake on return; could still do better but this may not be enough of a slog. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (11/1 +45%) Santos Blue |
11/1(+45%) | (7) Santos Blue 11/1, Progressive sort who won his first 3 handicaps last season. Shaped well when 2¼ lengths second of 8 to Crambo in 2½m Aintree handicap on reappearance 4 weeks ago, keeping on despite usual rider Ben Sutton dropping his whip. Respected. Has form figures of 11132 (at 2m3f-3m under Ben Sutton) since handicapping; stays 3m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (14/1 +13%) Howlingmadmurdock |
14/1(+13%) | (3) Howlingmadmurdock 14/1, Rapidly developed into a useful hurdler last season, winning a Plumpton novice and Sandown handicap before a good fifth of 15 in 3m Grade 1 novice at Aintree in April. Unexposed profile provides the hope for better again this term. Concern that Grade 1 novice 5th has blown his handicap mark but he is very lightly raced. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (15) (50/1 -52%) Schalke |
50/1(-52%) | (15) Schalke 50/1, Ended last season in fine form, scoring at Kelso before a good fourth at Sandown (23f). Ran as if needing the run on his Ayr reappearance but he'll need to have come on a lot to get competitive in this stronger race. Two big runs over 2m7f last winter; needs to resume improvement with recent under his belt. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (2) (25/1 +0%) Wakool |
25/1(+0%) | (2) Wakool 25/1, Won Grade 2 Rendlesham over C&D in February but it was a weak renewal and he's been comfortably held in handicaps in his 2 hurdle outings since. First-time visor replaces regular cheekpieces. Looks vulnerable under a big weight. Won C&D Grade 2; failed to get competitive (Flat/hurdles) this autumn; headgear switch. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (16) (12/1 +40%) Goshhowposh |
12/1(+40%) | (16) Goshhowposh 12/1, Promise in each of his three outings in maiden/novice hurdles last winter and improved to make a successful handicap debut/reappearance at Exeter (23f, soft) last month. More needed up 4 lb in this deeper race but unexposed profile provides hope for better. Won handicap debut; more to give after just 4 races but this one is much more competitive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (12) (15/2 +46%) Dubrovnik Harry |
15/2(+46%) | (12) Dubrovnik Harry 15/2, Third in the competitive EBF Final at Sandown in his novice hurdle season. Failed to progress in a light campaign last term but more encouraging signs when fourth of 20 on 3m Cheltenham reappearance 4 weeks ago. Staying-on fourth of 20 at Cheltenham (3m, good to soft) on last month's reappearance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (8) (50/1 -25%) Pyramid Place |
50/1(-25%) | (8) Pyramid Place 50/1, Proved better than ever when landing the traditionally strong Silver Trophy at Chepstow (19.5f, heavy) for Milton Harris in October. Respectable 3 lengths fifth of 8 at Plumpton (20.5f) since. Now under the care of Syd Hosie. First attempt at 3m. Came from off the pace to land the Silver Trophy at Chepstow (2m3f, heavy) last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (6) (33/1 +0%) Sholokjack |
33/1(+0%) | (6) Sholokjack 33/1, Dual hurdler winner in 2021/22. Useful effort to win a 2½m Lingfield handicap chase last winter but he had jumping issues in that sphere (fell on 2 of 4 starts) and now back hurdling on reappearance. Could have more to come in this sphere and 3m promises to suit. Stamina remains unproven but he could be thrown in if judged on his 2m4f chase win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (8/1 +43%) Emitom |
8/1(+43%) | (9) Emitom 8/1, Grade 2 winning hurdler earlier in his career who justified support when making a winning start for the Alan King yard over 3m at Newbury in March. Bettered that when runner-up at the same venue on his reappearance 16 days ago and should be very competitive from an identical mark. Very smart at his peak (early 2020); first and second in his two runs for new stable. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
CRAMBO looked a high-class prospect when taking the EBF Final last season and he confirmed his well-being when beating Santos Blue at Aintree last month. A 6lb rise for that latest success appears to be fair and the step up from 2m4f may bring about further progression from Fergal O'Brien's six-year-old. Slate Lane is an obvious threat given his connections and a mark of 127 may still underestimate him, while Bold Endeavour and Goshhowposh are the pick of the remainder.
SLATE LANE came clear with one who has plundered a couple of decent prizes over fences since when completing a hat-trick at Newton Abbot in September so even a 14 lb rise may not prevent the Emmet Mullins-trained 5-y-o from going in again. Emitom was nicely clear of the rest when second on his Newbury reappearance so he's much respected off the same mark. Last month's Aintree 1-2 Crambo and Santos Blue are also on the shortlist along with Fine Margin, a new recruit for the Willie Mullins yard.
Crambo and Slate Lane make clear appeal but Dan Skelton fields two live contenders in Santos Blue and SHOLOKJACK (nap).

1st (3) (1/6 +48%) State Man |
1/6(+48%) | (3) State Man 1/6, Couldn't live with Constitution Hill in last season's Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham but that's his only defeat in his last 8 starts, including this race last year. Will take all the beating. Top-class hurdler set fair to make winning return in this race for second consecutive year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (7/1 -40%) Echoes In Rain |
7/1(-40%) | (4) Echoes In Rain 7/1, Smart hurdler, including a Grade 1 win at Punchstown in April. Arrives fit from Flat (6½ lengths second to Falcon Eight in 2m Curragh Group 3 20 days ago). Might be the one to follow her stablemate home. Winner at the festival against the mares; fit from the flat and competing for second here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (33/1 -32%) Fils D'oudairies |
33/1(-32%) | (1) Fils D'oudairies 33/1, Smart hurdler. 3 wins from 5 runs this season. 9/2, didn't need to be at best when winning 3-runner Horse & Jockey Hotel Hurdle at Tipperary (16.2f, soft) 55 days ago by 99 lengths from Deo Bellator. Dual Grade 3 winner this term the likely pace angle here but lots to find on ratings. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (12/1 -140%) Pied Piper |
12/1(-140%) | (2) Pied Piper 12/1, Very smart hurdler. Course winner. Creditable second of 31 in Cesarewitch on Flat at Newmarket (18f, good to soft) 42 days ago. Should give his running back hurdling but a big career best will be needed to trouble State Man. Recent Cesarewitch second with fitness assured and likely one to follow State Man home. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
STATE MAN proved too good in this contest last year for the first of four Grade 1 victories in a campaign that would have been flawless were it not for superstar Constitution Hill, who swatted him aside in the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham. Willie Mullins' six-year-old remains a class above anything in this division on home soil and should be set for another dominant season - in Ireland, anyway. Echoes In Rain landed the Mares Champion Hurdle here and could get closest to her illustrious stablemate, although Pied Piper may have something to say about that.
STATE MAN was comfortably the best 2m hurdler in Ireland last season and can provide Willie Mullins with a remarkable twelfth win in this since 2011. Stable-companion Echoes In Rain can follow him home.
Following last season's path STATE MAN can't be opposed on his seasonal return

1st (3) (11/2 +15%) Midnightreflection |
11/2(+15%) | (3) Midnightreflection 11/2, Registered a fourth career success at Doncaster (24.4f) in February and not disgraced on 2 of her 3 starts thereafter last term. Unseated rider at start on return at Chepstow but proved as good as ever when runner-up at Ludlow (21.2f) 9 days later. Good second in this race in 2020 on her only appearance at Ascot; 2nd at Ludlow last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (15/2 -150%) Whitehotchillifili |
15/2(-150%) | (1) Whitehotchillifili 15/2, Rarely stands much racing and doesn't always deliver off the bridle, though didn't do anything wrong when finding only one too good at Newton Abbot (26.5f) on her reappearance. Possibilities if backing that up. Beaten a neck at Newton Abbot (3m3f) latest; soft or heavy ground may well be preferable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (3/1 +0%) Lassue |
3/1(+0%) | (5) Lassue 3/1, Point winner who confirmed the promise of her hurdling debut when getting off the mark in a Ludlow novice (21.2f) in February 2022. Followed up on handicap debut at Chepstow 21 months later and is open to further improvement. 629 days off, won handicap debut at Chepstow (near 3m) tidily by 2l from Fortuna Ligna. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (5/1 +55%) So Said I |
5/1(+55%) | (4) So Said I 5/1, Progressed well in 2021-22, winning an Exeter novice and a brace of handicaps at up to 3m. Below that level both starts last season but has eased in the weights and returns with her stable amongst the winners. Interesting. Year off before two heavy defeats this spring; well treated if back to her best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (3/1 +14%) Fortuna Ligna |
3/1(+14%) | (7) Fortuna Ligna 3/1, Fair form in bumpers and similar form over hurdles, justifying cramped odds when landing a mares' maiden at Chepstow (19.5f) in April. Made a respectable reappearance when second to Lassue back at that venue last month but was found to have bled. Blinkers back on. Good front-running second off this mark to Lassue over nearly 3m at Chepstow on return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (11/2 -10%) Miss Milano |
11/2(-10%) | (6) Miss Milano 11/2, Completed a hat-trick last season and shaped better than the bare result when fourth at Wetherby (24.1f) on reappearance, rallying well after bad mistake 2 out. Needs considering with that under her belt. Looked in good form at Wetherby (3m) last month, rallying well after a bad stumble two out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (16/1 -45%) Go Chique |
16/1(-45%) | (2) Go Chique 16/1, Resumed winning ways in 5-runner handicap hurdle at Market Rasen in August but disappointing both starts since, producing a laboured effort at Exeter latest. Won at Market Rasen in August but in the doldrums on her other four starts this season. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Lassue (first) returned from a lengthy absence to get the better of FORTUNA LIGNA (second) when the pair met at Chepstow at the end of last month. The former is open to further progression, but the latter has every chance of reversing the form, especially with blinkers being reapplied after they were left off for her return to action. Midnightreflection whipped round at the start and unseated her rider in the aforementioned contest, but she has since finished second at Ludlow and is capable of a decent showing.
SO SAID I was below form on both her starts last season, but she's fallen to a handy mark and returns with her yard amongst the winners, so could well be the answer. Lassue made light of a 21-month absence when making a winning handicap debut at Chepstow recently and could easily have more to offer, while Miss Milano would've likely finished second but for a significant late error on her reappearance at Wetherby and isn't dismissed lightly.
Five of them ran well last time out and preference is for LASSUE who is the striking candidate to make further progress.

1st (3) (7/2 +30%) Mylesfromwicklow |
7/2(+30%) | (3) Mylesfromwicklow 7/2, Point winner who has finished runner-up on all 4 starts in maiden/novice hurdles around 2½m, including at Worcester on reappearance. Shaped like a non-stayer on handicap debut at Aintree since. Back down in trip now and type to make a better chaser. Disappointed on handicap hurdle debut but still looks interesting on chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (7/4 +30%) William Cody |
7/4(+30%) | (6) William Cody 7/4, Did very well in his first season chasing last term, winning twice over this C&D. Good second upped in class at Wetherby on his return and strong chance of going one better. Dual C&D winner last season and ran big race in defeat on recent reappearance outing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (12/1 -50%) Family Business |
12/1(-50%) | (2) Family Business 12/1, Landed 2m handicap chase at Newbury in February and had a wind op before posting a good third back there next time. Well held next 2 starts 6 months apart, however. Change of headgear. Has good strike-rate over fences but needs today's headgear switch to perk him up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (5/2 +55%) Maclaine |
5/2(+55%) | (1) Maclaine 5/2, Made most of a good opportunity to get off the mark in a Fontwell novice a year ago and good placed efforts last 2 starts in the spring. Off 7 months. Makes chase debut. First run for yard after leaving Oliver Sherwood. Creditable second on final hurdle start for Oliver Sherwood; makes stable/chase debut here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (6/1 +40%) Zestful Hope |
6/1(+40%) | (4) Zestful Hope 6/1, Fair hurdler who made a positive start in this sphere towards the end of last season. Likely to have needed both his runs this term and better expected now. Well beaten on both starts this season but ran well to a point; not ruled out. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
The hat-trick chasing TOM CREEN is going from strength-to-strength over fences and, given he ran a blinder when second on his only previous run over this course and distance, the gelding has a live chance off just 5lb higher than for his most recent Sedgefield victory. William Cody won over C&D last December and is feared most despite an 11lb higher mark, while chasing/stable debutant Maclaine is notable given he was low mileage over hurdles and has scope to do better in this discipline.
WILLIAM CODY is set for another good season judged on his fine second at Wetherby on his comeback 3 weeks ago and can enhance his excellent record around here. The thriving Tom Creen is the obvious threat, while Mylesfromwicklow is an interesting chasing debutant back down in trip.
Preference is for dual C&D winner WILLIAM CODY, who began this season with a very good run in defeat at Wetherby three weeks ago.

15/2(-150%) | (5) Operatic Artist 15/2, Cheekpieces on for 1st time, career best when winning 9-runner handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f, 8/1) 12 days ago. Remains of interest from a 3 lb higher mark. Took well to first-time cheekpieces at Wolverhampton last week; may build on that win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (6) (22/1 +33%) Pride Of Nepal |
22/1(+33%) | (6) Pride Of Nepal 22/1, Looked rusty after 5 months off when ninth of 10 in handicap (80/1) at Windsor (10f, heavy) 33 days ago. Needs to leave that well behind. Runner-up over C&D in April but isn't guaranteed to reproduce that effort. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
OPERATIC ARTIST won well over the extended 1m1f at Wolverhampton earlier this month and she looks primed to offer another bold effort. Ollie Sangster's filly has been raised 3lb for that one-length success, which doesn't appear overly harsh. Measured Moments rates as the biggest danger after a good second over C&D off this mark, while King Of Scotia has been given a chance by the handicapper and could also have a say.
FOLK STAR resumed her progress when doubling her tally here 19 days ago and, with that form likely to prove strong for the grade (third already successful since), a 3 lb rise may not be enough to prevent her from following up. King of Scotia is still lightly raced for his current yard and is well worth a crack at this longer trip, with Operatic Artist also feared on the back of a career best.
With the new trip a possible plus, class-dropper KING OF SCOTIA gets the vote. Measured Moments is second choice.

1st (4) (5/1 +50%) Royale Pagaille |
5/1(+50%) | (4) Royale Pagaille 5/1, Very smart chaser whose 2 best performances came when winning the Peter Marsh here. Creditable 14 lengths second to Bravemansgame in King George on his reappearance last season before respectable sixth in Cheltenham Gold Cup. Let down by jumping in Irish National final start. Ideally wants the mud. Trainer form and liking for Haydock are the positives, but limitations exposed in Grade 1s. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (8/11 +82%) Bravemansgame |
8/11(+82%) | (1) Bravemansgame 8/11, Top-class chaser who won Charlie Hall at Wetherby and King George VI at Kempton last season. Also excellent second in Cheltenham Gold Cup. Unable to land the odds in this year's renewal of the Charlie Hall on return 3 weeks ago but it was still a decent effort. Excellent chance. Last season's King George winner & Gold Cup runner-up; can improve for Charlie Hall return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (18/1 -80%) Corach Rambler |
18/1(-80%) | (2) Corach Rambler 18/1, Notched second successive win in the Ultima at the Cheltenham Festival in March before a fine performance to land the Grand National at Aintree the following month. Looked very much in need of the run at Kelso on reappearance and better expected now, though does need to step forward again. Grand National winner who could have more left in the tank but needs a clear career best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (5/2 -11%) Protektorat |
5/2(-11%) | (3) Protektorat 5/2, Recorded a second Grade 1 success of his career in this race on his return last season. Not quite at that level in Cotswold and Cheltenham Gold Cup both starts since, but big run expected now as he bids to defend his crown. Impressive on his reappearance in this 12 months ago; respected on this season's return. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
Cheltenham Gold Cup runner-up BRAVEMANSGAME is taken to atone for the disappointment of his narrow defeat in the Charlie Hall at Wetherby on his return. Three weeks on from that run, Paul Nicholls' King George winner can be expected to be ready to go again and he could be a different proposition with his match-fitness topped up. Royale Pagaille goes well fresh and has proven himself over these fences, but last year's winner Protektorat looks the principal danger given he has undergone wind surgery since his fifth in the Gold Cup. Grand National hero Corach Rambler should run his race but faces a stiff task on these terms.
BRAVEMANSGAME proved himself to be a top-class chaser when winning the King George VI at Kempton last season and should prove hard to beat after a decent reappearance in the Charlie Hall at Wetherby 3 weeks ago. Last year's winner Protektorat is the obvious threat.
Last season's King George winner and Gold Cup runner-up BRAVEMANSGAME can improve for his reappearance second in the Charlie Hall.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (6/1 -9%) El Champo |
6/1(-9%) | (2) El Champo 6/1, Career best when winning 15-runner handicap hurdle at Galway (16f, heavy, 8/1) 27 days ago, always holding on. Raised another 8 lb but this thriving front-runner still merits respect. Won 3 of his last 4 all in h'cap hurdles; 8lb rise possibly harsh for latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) (13/2 +54%) Sonny May |
13/2(+54%) | (8) Sonny May 13/2, 28/1, creditable third of 14 in novice hurdle at Naas (19f, soft). Off 8 months. Makes handicap hurdle debut. Promising C&D 5th; bounced back from lesser run with maiden hurdle 3rd latest; good mark. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
YEATS STAR left the impression there was plenty more to come when pulling clear for a comfortable 2m2f maiden success at Downpatrick and while an opening mark of 122 may not leave him with too much room for error, he looks the most likely winner for his in-form trainer/jockey combination. El Champo made all to complete a Galway double but has a further 8lb rise to contend with and the biggest threat to the selection may come from Striking, who impressed when landing a maiden here in June.
There's been no stopping Gordon Elliott in November and his YEATS STAR gets the nod to make a winning start to his handicap career. The thriving El Champo and Noel Meade's Poets Cottage head the dangers.
A chance is taken on the fitness of SONNY MAY who showed promise last season and looks well treated on his handicap debut here

1st (1) (11/4 -46%) Boothill |
11/4(-46%) | (1) Boothill 11/4, 3-time winner over fences last term (including this race) who proved better than ever when running out a convincing winner on return over C&D 3 weeks ago, produced to lead between last 2 and just kept up to work. Respected on that evidence despite career-high mark. 3-3 in handicap chases, including a win in this race last year; won here on reappearance. |

2nd (8) (7/2 +50%) Frere D'Armes |
7/2(+50%) | (8) Frere D'Armes 7/2, Did well over hurdles and improved for switch to chasing, landing handicaps at Kempton/Newbury this time last year. Subsequent efforts suggest he can defy his revised mark and entitled to come on for his C&D reappearance run behind Boothill earlier this month. Interesting. Second-season chaser; shaped better than bare result here on reappearance; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (7/1 +36%) Triple Trade |
7/1(+36%) | (7) Triple Trade 7/1, Got his act together over fences during the spring, winning twice and continued progressive theme this autumn, going one place better than on return when staying on to lead late at Cheltenham (15.9f) 8 days ago. Led close home at Cheltenham last week; improving chaser who can't be ruled out. |

4th (5) (10/1 -100%) Corrigeen Rock |
10/1(-100%) | (5) Corrigeen Rock 10/1, Progressive 6-y-o who made light of a 6-month absence when gaining fourth success over fences at Kempton (18f) 5 weeks ago, briefly looking held before staying on to lead again run-in. Possible there is more to come still. Kempton reappearance success took his chase record to 4-8; could well improve further. |

5th (4) (5/1 +69%) Aucunrisque |
5/1(+69%) | (4) Aucunrisque 5/1, Bright start in trio of starts over fences before a valiant front-running display to land last season's Betfair Hurdle. Mixed bag followed but entitled to come on for last month's reappearance third over hurdles at Fontwell (19.2f) and he's of interest returned to larger obstacles. Finished 1l second to Boothill in Kempton Grade 2 when last seen over fences. |

6th (2) (9/1 +25%) Funambule Sivola |
9/1(+25%) | (2) Funambule Sivola 9/1, Runner-up in Champion Chase in 2022 and landed the 4-runner Game Spirit at Newbury (16.4f) for the second year running in February. Poor effort final start but possible he'll be sharper for his return sixth behind Boothill over C&D 3 weeks ago. Dual winner of the Game Spirit; seemed to need the run in C&D event on seasonal debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (40/1 -21%) Malystic |
40/1(-21%) | (3) Malystic 40/1, At the very top of his game last season, ending a productive campaign with success at Ayr (16.5f) in April. Entitled to be sharper for last month's Kelso return effort but this is a tough enough ask. Northern chaser who is useful but needs to leave his Kelso reappearance effort behind. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (6) (5/1 +9%) Saint Segal |
5/1(+9%) | (6) Saint Segal 5/1, Has made an encouraging start to his chasing career, winning first 2 starts, and ran well under a positive ride when third behind Boothill here 21 days ago, rallying late on. Remains low-mileage and he's not out of things. Third to Boothill over C&D on reappearance; promises to do better yet; big player. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
Boothill impressed when notching a second C&D win on his reappearance but he's picked up a hefty 6lb rise for that and better value may lie with one of his younger victims, SAINT SEGAL, who was only six lengths back in third that day despite racing far keener than ideal on his first start for eight months. Corrigeen Rock still looked progressive when scoring at Kempton on his reappearance and should remain competitive despite a 7lb rise, as should Triple Trade, who shoulders a 5lb penalty for last week's Cheltenham win.
FRERE D'ARMES was behind Boothill when the pair met over C&D 3 weeks ago but he gets a very handy pull at the weights ahead of this and, expected to be much sharper with that run under his belt, he could just be worth chancing to come out on top. The latter-named is clearly operating at the top of his game and is a big threat, with Aucunrisque another fancied to feature.
A career-high mark may well not stop last year's winner BOOTHILL (nap) from following up. Saint Segal is feared most.

Dodger Long has bumper experience and is a notable contender on his first run for Syd Hosie. However, several of the newcomers appeal on paper, with the Flat-bred COMPOSITE capturing the imagination on his debut run for George Boughey. A half-brother to Cameraman, a winner over 1m6f in the UAE, the selection is introduced at a modest level and could have an edge in a race where the emphasis will be on speed. Dirty Den and Reteti are also considered.
COMPOSITE was bought cheaply from Juddmonte and picked up by an adept Flat trainer, so he's worth chancing on debut, particularly if the market speaks in his favour. Dirty Den is another notable newcomer and Dodger Long sets the standard of those with experience.
There's not a lot to go on. COMPOSITE is a rare bumper runner for his good Flat yard and he might be the one.

50/1(-25%) | (10) Afterlife 50/1, Last of 11 in handicap (28/1) at Chelmsford City (6f) 9 days ago, unsuited by drop in trip. Won final 2yo start for the Gosdens; dismal form figures this year but retains ability. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
A very competitive heat but a chance is taken on STAR OF LADY M, who was only just touched off at Wolverhampton last week and can go one better. David O'Meara's filly was beaten by the narrowest of margins on that occasion and having been raised just 1lb subsequently, compensation for that near-miss could await. On Edge is feared most after a sequence of wins but another 3lb rise in the ratings isn't ideal, while South Dakota Sioux should also be thereabouts.
STAR OF LADY M came very close to taking advantage of her reduced mark at Wolverhampton last week and looks ready to strike. The thriving On Edge is the obvious threat ahead of Sarah's Verse, who's on a workable mark.
Porfin can give a good account but STAR OF LADY M can gain compensation for losing out late on over 6f at Wolverhampton recently.

15/2(+63%) | (7) Haute Estime 15/2, Off the mark over fences when taking 5-runner novice at Warwick in March and going well when falling heavily 3 out on return at Perth (23.8f) in September (race won by Wasdell Dundalk). Unable to build fully on that run at Carlisle since but certainly not one to write off. Only a 6yo; yard had lots of success in staying handicap chases here; improvement needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (12/1 +33%) Dubai Days |
12/1(+33%) | (5) Dubai Days 12/1, Gained reward for his consistency when landing 10-runner Carlisle handicap chase (20f) in March before a fine second at Ayr (20.5f) in April. Encouraging reappearance fourth over that track/trip 3 weeks ago and he's unexposed granted this sort of test. Untested over a staying trip under rules but it's worth a go and he's not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (9/1 -50%) Docpickedme |
9/1(-50%) | (2) Docpickedme 9/1, Multiple winner over hurdles/fences for Harry Whittington and, well backed, he ran a cracker back from 6 months off for new yard when second at Warwick (25.5f) 17 days ago, edged out near finish. Just the type this yard do well with. Respected. Inconsistent but went very close on stable debut and leading claims if repeating that form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (33/1 +0%) Cap Du Nord |
33/1(+0%) | (6) Cap Du Nord 33/1, Grand servant to connections but out of sorts in recent months, again going with little fluency minus cheekpieces (refitted here) when failing to complete at Cheltenham (25f) 7 days ago. Best to look elsewhere until showing more encouraging signs. Below last winning mark and market check advised, but a major turnaround is needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (12/1 -50%) Wasdell Dundalk |
12/1(-50%) | (9) Wasdell Dundalk 12/1, Has relished the step up to 3m over fences this season, completing a hat-trick at Perth in August/September. Runner-up on both outings at Carlisle since and another good showing anticipated for all his mark is creeping back up. Completed Perth hat-trick in September and has continued in fine form; could be in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (22/1 -159%) Sidi Ismael |
22/1(-159%) | (1) Sidi Ismael 22/1, Proved as good as ever when making a winning return over hurdles last autumn and ended last term with brace of runner-up efforts in staying handicaps over fences at Taunton/Ffos Las in the spring. Had wind op ahead of return. Better than ever last season and has a fine reappearance record; firmly in calculations. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
FAMOUS BRIDGE ended last season with a brace of victories at Wetherby and made a promising comeback when three-parts-of-a-length fourth over an extended 2m4f at Ayr. With that run under his belt, and likely to appreciate stepping back up in trip, he looks to have a huge chance in a competitive finale. Credo ran out an impressive winner on her reappearance at Wincanton and she should remain competitive off a 7lb higher mark. Docpickedme and Wasdell Dundalk also merit shortlist inclusion.
FAMOUS BRIDGE shaped well, not least with a view to stepping back up to this trip, when staying on well for fourth at Ayr 3 weeks ago. Still unexposed granted a staying test, he's fancied to make a bold bid. Docpickedme ran a cracker to finish second on return/yard debut at Warwick 17 days ago and he's a threat, along with low-mileage 8-y-o Bali Body.
The unexposed FAMOUS BRIDGE was a very close fourth at Ayr on his reappearance and can build on that now he's up in trip.

1st (6) (8/11 +58%) The Enabler |
8/11(+58%) | (6) The Enabler 8/11, Cost plenty on the back of a second-placed effort in a point and filled the same position at Thurles on Rules debut. Should be able to open his account this time. Clear bumper debut second at Thurles last month puts him right in the mix here. |

2nd (4) (2/1 -14%) I Am Mimi |
2/1(-14%) | (4) I Am Mimi 2/1, £155,000 3-y-o, Gris De Gris gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to useful hurdler (2m winner) Allblak des Places. Expensive purchase representing a shrewd stable, so worthy of respect. Cost 155,00GBP as a 3yo; yard in top form and newcomer has to be respected. |

13/2(+90%) | (3) Champagne Kid 13/2, Vadamos gelding. Half-brother to 4 winners on Flat, including 5f-1m winner Black Treacle. Worth monitoring in the betting. Newcomer for whom market likely best guide. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
A second at Curraghmore on his sole appearance between the flags prompted Gordon Elliott to go to 200,000 euros for THE ENABLER. He could only fill the runner-up spot on his first start under Rules at Thurles last month, but the experience won't be lost on him and he can go one better. Scamall Bawn had Toor Khov back in third when making a successful beginning to his career at Cork, although he isn't guaranteed to confirm that superiority on the revised terms. In any case, perhaps 155,000-pounds newcomer I Am Mimi will give the selection most to think about.
THE ENABLER has filled second spot in a point and bumper to date and this looks like a good chance for him to open his account acknowledging that Scamall Bawn was impressive when scoring at Cork first time out.
Cork winner Scamall Bawn could struggle to concede weight to the Thurles second THE ENABLER

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (15/8 -7%) Tradecraft |
15/8(-7%) | (7) Tradecraft 15/8, Blue Bresil gelding. Dam fairly useful 12.3f-16.5f winner on Flat. Of obvious interest for top connections on debut. By top jumps sire Blue Bresil; bang-in-form yard does very well in this sphere. |

3rd (1) (7/2 -40%) Wellington Arch |
7/2(-40%) | (1) Wellington Arch 7/2, Brother to bumper winner and followed suit at the first attempt in 10-runner event at Worcester 44 days ago. Nothing to spare but should have learned from the experience. Looked useful when making winning start at Worcester; big player despite a 4lb penalty. |

5th (3) (50/1 +24%) Minella Miracle |
50/1(+24%) | (3) Minella Miracle 50/1, Runner-up on last of 3 starts in Irish points. Looked hard ride fitted with tongue tie when third of 8 in maiden bumper at Southwell (20/1) in July and went backwards from it at Lingfield 11 days ago. Modest form at best in two outings under rules for this stable; needs to raise his game. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (40/1 +20%) Johns Dream |
40/1(+20%) | (2) Johns Dream 40/1, Malinas gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to very smart hurdler/smart chaser (stayed 3m) Fingal Bay. Third on completed start in Irish points (Oct 22). Worth a market check. Third in an Irish point; new yard 0-13 (all unplaced) in bumpers in last five years. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
WELLINGTON ARCH carries a penalty for his debut victory at Worcester last month but the form has worked out reasonably well, with the runner-up acquitting himself with credit in a Listed contest at Cheltenham last weekend, and he may put that experience to good use here. Regent's Stroll and Tradecraft both make plenty of appeal for leading connections, while Shy Love, a half-brother to smart mare Brandy Love, completes the shortlist.
TRADECRAFT and Regent's Stroll both represent excellent connections and should be above-average newcomers. Preference is marginally for the former, with Wellington Arch also considered following his winning start at Worcester.
The vote goes to newcomer TRADECRAFT, by the same sire as Constitution Hill and out of a fairly useful 1m4f-2m Flat winner.

However, she's in very good hands and may have more to offer now handicapping. Bred to be useful but has shown only modest form; now wears cheekpieces for handicap debut. |

Subsequent break/switch to handicaps needs to have positive effect ahead of AW debut. Doesn't have much worthwhile form; makes AW/handicap debut, having been gelded. |

22/1(-120%) | (9) Goldmine Girl 22/1, 9/1, seventh of 11 in nursery at Newcastle (7.1f) 8 days ago, pushed along 2f out and one paced. Not out of things from a handy draw. 0-8 but has reached the frame three times and ran respectably on latest; cheekpieces on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (9/1 -50%) High Sport |
9/1(-50%) | (3) High Sport 9/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 33/1, showed more than previously when fifth of 8 in novice event at Lingfield (6f, AW) on qualifying run 29 days ago. Longer trip may well bring about improvement now handicapping for all she's not ideally drawn. Could have potential now stepped up in trip and contesting a handicap; wide draw a worry. |

12/1(-50%) | (8) Calafrio 12/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 16/1, respectable fifth of 12 in nursery at Newcastle (6f) 18 days ago, keeping on. Return to 7f rates a likely plus here. This return to 7f should suit; possibilities as long as stall 12 is not a major negative. |

66/1(-164%) | (10) Someone Like You 66/1, Blinkered for 1st time, ninth of 12 in nursery (66/1) at Chelmsford City (5f) 16 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Makes tapeta debut. Needs a couple of these to falter. Out of the first five on all eight starts; difficult to fancy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (4) (5/1 +64%) Roubay |
5/1(+64%) | (4) Roubay 5/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Seventh of 10 in C&D novice event in July. Absent since and market best guide now attentions switch to nurseries. Hard to pin down after three runs but has had a break; market support would be significant. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
WORD PLAY has displayed hints of promise in her three outings to date and the application of cheekpieces for her nursery debut may see her take the step forward required. High Sport is expected to benefit from the extra furlong on the evidence of her recent fifth at Lingfield, while others for the shortlist include Polly The Rocket and Green Sigma.
A wide-open nursery to kick off with the narrow vote in favour of GREEN SIGMA. Not without promise in a trio of maiden/novice events, she's probably best not judged too harshly on her handicap debut effort at Chelmsford 3 weeks ago. With cheekpieces now enlisted, she's fancied to be seen in a better light. Havanarama, on the back of being gelded, Polly The Rocket and Word Play are others to consider.
It's hard to make a compelling case for many of these but CHINA TRADE may have some potential and should go close, at the least.

11/2(+25%) | (4) Craven 11/2, Creditable fourth of 13 in handicap at York (7f, heavy, 17/2) 43 days ago. Can give a good account. 7f turf winner in July; several good runs since but below par in one AW run. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Silvretta justified very short odds to shed the maiden tag at Newcastle earlier in the month and the step back up to 7f may yield further improvement. Triggered returned to winning ways here last month and is respected off a 4lb higher mark, but the vote goes to HE'S A GENTLEMAN. A narrow winner on his penultimate start, he backed that up by finishing second here and the return to 7f is unlikely to be an inconvenience.
SUPREME KING wasn't seen to best effect when fourth here last time so is taken to gain a deserved first success off a 2 lb lower mark. Course-specialist Visibility is next on the list ahead of in-form pair Craven and He's A Gentleman.
Plenty of possibles but TRIGGERED found plenty when winning here last month and can get the better of Silvretta and Hieronymus.

DOCTOR KHAN JUNIOR has turned a corner since the visor was applied, winning three of his last five starts, and the four-year-old gets the vote once again in a contest that looks to be more than winnable on paper. How Impressive has been in consistent form over the past few months and he is likely to enter calculations, along with Hot Chesnut and Satirical.
HOT CHESNUT shaped well when just edged out at Chelmsford City last time and can make amends here off just a 1 lb higher mark. How Impressive is feared most on the back of his good Lingfield second, with both Doctor Khan Junior and See You Boy not discounted either.
The one to beat is HOW IMPRESSIVE (nap) who can compete off the same mark as when going down narrowly last time.

28/1(-250%) | (6) Night Horn 28/1, Foaled May 15. Golden Horn colt. Half-brother to 3 winners, including useful 7f-8.3f winner I'm Available and 1m-10.3f winner Ocala. Dam 5f/5.7f winner (including at 2 yrs). Considered newcomer. Golden Horn half-brother to three winners; interesting newcomer for strong connections. |

8th (8) (18/1 +0%) Yeomanry |
18/1(+0%) | (8) Yeomanry 18/1, Twice-raced maiden. Seventh of 10 in maiden at Kempton (8f, 14/1) 19 days ago. Needs to take a step forward. Only seventh here and at Kempton; may be of more interest when tackling handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) (9/1 +18%) Shaleel |
9/1(+18%) | (11) Shaleel 9/1, Foaled March 17. 120,000 gns yearling, Land Force filly. Dam, maiden (stayed 1¼m), out of winning half-sister to smart 6f/7f winner Desert Fantasy. Interesting debutante. Stablemate of Sea Stream and interesting to see which one the betting favours. |

10th (9) (150/1 -127%) Luna Catena |
150/1(-127%) | (9) Luna Catena 150/1, 66/1, sixth of 9 in minor event at Haydock (6f, good to firm) on debut. Off 163 days. Significantly up in trip. Lots to find judged on her debut form but at least this longer distance should suit. |

11th (5) (80/1 -142%) Mr Tibbs |
80/1(-142%) | (5) Mr Tibbs 80/1, Foaled April 16. Washington Dc gelding. Dam, third at 7f, closely related to 1¼m-13f winner Silver Tigress. Debutant by Washington DC; stable 0-8 with 2yos this season. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
MAJED, whose debut run reads well, sets a reasonable standard and appeals most from those with previous experience. Having run respectably when stepped up to a mile at Lingfield 24 days ago, the fitting of cheekpieces could provide the missing ingredient as the son of Magna Grecia bids to get off the mark at the third time of asking. Saviour is also going the right way and warrants a betting check, while expensive purchase Shaleel and the well-bred Night Horn are notable debutants to consider.
MAJED has gone with some promise when in the frame on both his runs so is fancied to put his experience to good use and get off the mark at the chief expense of Hugo Palmer's Saviour who also looks to have better days ahead of him. Newcomers Bold Style, Shaleel and Night Horn all bring potential too and need monitoring in the betting in an intriguing novice.
Most of the newcomers make some appeal on pedigree but the percentage call is MAJED who already has two promising runs under his belt.

1st (3) (4/1 +71%) Civil Law |
4/1(+71%) | (3) Civil Law 4/1, 3-time C&D winner. 18/1, last of 12 in handicap at Kempton (11f) 19 days ago, unsuited by way race developed. Likely to be back on his game if he breaks on terms. Below par at Newbury and Kempton the last twice but last four wins have come over this C&D. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (13) (11/2 +21%) Miss Bluebelle |
11/2(+21%) | (13) Miss Bluebelle 11/2, C&D winner. Latest win at Bath in August. Respectable fourth of 11 in handicap at this course (12.2f, 6/1) 19 days ago. Return to this trip should suit and she could be worth chancing. C&D winner who has had excuses the last twice and is on the shortlist today. |

3rd (7) (7/2 +56%) Urban Sprawl |
7/2(+56%) | (7) Urban Sprawl 7/2, 11/1, creditable fourth of 12 in handicap at Newcastle (8f) 10 days ago. Liable to be on the premises again. In good form over 1m on AW of late; could have the necessary stamina; contender if so. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (11) (7/1 +13%) King's Code |
7/1(+13%) | (11) King's Code 7/1, Latest win here in October. 17/2, last of 14 in handicap at Newmarket (8f, heavy) 21 days ago, reportedly bled. Had been in top form prior to that, so not one to rule out. Did very well after joining this yard and perhaps Newmarket last time was just a blip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (15/2 +6%) Great Max |
15/2(+6%) | (1) Great Max 15/2, Sixteen runs since last win in 2021. 20/1, creditable fourth of 9 in handicap at Yarmouth (9.1f, good to soft) 66 days ago, sticking to task. Makes tapeta debut. One to consider. Not as good as he was but on a reduced mark and not ruled out for in-form yard on AW debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (12) (7/1 -75%) Master Of Combat |
7/1(-75%) | (12) Master Of Combat 7/1, C&D winner. Latest win here in October. Creditable second of 10 in handicap at this course (9.5f, 11/4) 11 days ago. Another bold showing seems likely. In fine form here of late; climbing the weights but still has strong claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (28/1 -75%) Precision Storm |
28/1(-75%) | (4) Precision Storm 28/1, 3-time C&D winner. 22/1, tailed-off last of 11 to Miss Bluebelle in handicap at Bath (10.2f, good to firm), possibly amiss. Return to AW should help after a 3-month break. Tailed off at Bath in August when last seen but this 3-time C&D winner is not discounted. |

8th (9) (12/1 +14%) Hartswood |
12/1(+14%) | (9) Hartswood 12/1, Latest win at Ayr in October. 18/1, twelfth of 15 in handicap at Newmarket (10f, soft) 22 days ago. Others make more appeal. Didn't shine on last two runs but case can be made on previous form (including on Tapeta). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (14/1 -250%) Spirit Genie |
14/1(-250%) | (5) Spirit Genie 14/1, Latest win at Leicester in October. Excellent second of 14 in handicap (28/1) at Newmarket (8f, heavy) 21 days ago, just failing. Can make presence felt. Has got back on track for new yard and he could be in the mix if his good form continues. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (16/1 -33%) High Spirited |
16/1(-33%) | (10) High Spirited 16/1, Winner at Windsor in May. Eighth of 10 in handicap (6/1) at Newmarket (8f, good) 63 days ago, very slowly away. Makes tapeta debut. Others make more appeal. Slow starts can be an issue but she's lightly raced and has potential off her current mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (2) (40/1 -21%) Throne Hall |
40/1(-21%) | (2) Throne Hall 40/1, Eighteen runs since last win in 2021. 40/1, last of 9 in handicap at Lingfield (10f, AW) 7 days ago, needing stiffer test. Makes tapeta debut. Chance on old form. Has dropped down the weights but form has gone the wrong way and he has plenty to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (6) (33/1 -106%) Southern Voyage |
33/1(-106%) | (6) Southern Voyage 33/1, 11/1, tenth of 12 in handicap at Newcastle (12.4f) 10 days ago. Down in trip. Has work to do. Has won off a higher mark on Tapeta but has struggled to get competitive this autumn. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Civil Law landed last year's corresponding race off 1lb higher and is one to note, despite arriving on the back of a moderate effort over 1m3f at Kempton 19 days ago. Conversely, the in-form Master Of Combat rates as a player in spite of being nudged up 2lb for finishing second over C&D last time. Nevertheless, URBAN SPRAWL, who was second in a class 2 handicap on his penultimate start, has more scope to improve on Tapeta and earns the vote having shown progression with cheekpieces applied recently.
SPIRIT GENIE arrives on the up and, having just been denied in a more competitive event than this at Newmarket, he's worth a chance to resume winning ways at the possible expense of Master of Combat, who is also bang in form. Miss Bluebelle is another one to consider dropping back to a more suitable trip.
Having been in fine form at this course of late, MASTER OF COMBAT is the selection ahead of Miss Bluebelle.

10/3(-48%) | (1) Chase The Dollar 10/3, Eleven runs since last win in 2022. Creditable second of 12 in handicap (9/2) at Newcastle (12.4f) 10 days ago, well positioned. Solid claims once again. Bumped into a handicap debutant from a leading yard over 1m4f at Newcastle. |

10/3(-11%) | (7) Absolute Queen 10/3, Latest win at Windsor in July. 8/1, good third of 12 in handicap at this course (12.2f) 7 days ago. Should go well again. Only a length off the winner over 1m4f last week when running on. |

9/2(+36%) | (2) Typical Woman 9/2, Latest win at Haydock in July. 7/1, bit below form sixth of 11 in handicap at Kempton (12f) 24 days ago. Shouldn't be dismissed. Did well to be second at Kempton before an excusable defeat back there last time. |

33/1(-83%) | (3) First Charge 33/1, Course winner. 28/1, ninth of 13 in handicap at Kempton (12f) 31 days ago. Needs to do more. Course winner but very slowly away in his last two races and comes with risks. |

6th (5) (12/1 +14%) Now Then Wendy |
12/1(+14%) | (5) Now Then Wendy 12/1, Lightly-raced winner on Flat. Eighth of 11 in handicap at Kempton (11f, 20/1) 19 days ago, ridden too aggressively. Up in trip. Only eighth in two runs following an absence and bit to prove now. |

9/2(-13%) | (9) Luna Effect 9/2, Respectable sixth of 11 in handicap at Newcastle (12.4f, 9/4) 15 days ago, needing stronger gallop. Still unexposed and can't be dismissed. Went close at Yarmouth and ridden more forward when not so good at Newcastle; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (25/1 -25%) Swift Tuttle |
25/1(-25%) | (6) Swift Tuttle 25/1, Respectable seventh of 12 in handicap at this course (12.2f, 50/1) 7 days ago. Others make more appeal. AW debut when never dangerous over 1m4f here last week, finishing behind Absolute Queen. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (11/1 -22%) Fox Flame |
11/1(-22%) | (8) Fox Flame 11/1, Course winner. 3 wins from 16 runs this year. Latest win at Lingfield in September. 14/1, respectable sixth of 12 in handicap at this course (12.2f) 7 days ago, left poorly placed. Not dismissed. 1m4f/1m5f wins on the AW this autumn but has struggled in her last three races. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Returning to this distance could be beneficial for CHASE THE DOLLAR, who has shown that he retains ability and is fancied to exploit his currently lenient mark. Giving weight away to the rest obviously complicates matters for the selection, and the likes of First Charge and Swift Tuttle are respected, given they have also proven their stamina. However, Absolute Queen has a touch more scope for improvement and could emerge as the biggest threat now she tries this trip for the first time.
ABSOLUTE QUEEN may not have reached her peak yet and, having shaped well from a poor position at this course last time, she's worth a chance to defy her current mark at the possible expense of the in-form Chase The Dollar. Luna Effect has few miles on the clock and deserves respect, too.
Preference is for TYPICAL WOMAN who did really well to be second at Kempton before doing too much too soon back there last time.

Unexposed sort who could have more to offer. Two 5f wins in the spring; yet to shine in handicaps but latest run better than it looks. |

3rd (1) (7/2 +0%) Dickieburd |
7/2(+0%) | (1) Dickieburd 7/2, Latest win at Newcastle (6f) in November. Creditable second of 11 in handicap at Newcastle (5f, 11/2) 8 days ago. Back up in trip. Respected. Two good runs at Newcastle this month; return to 6f a plus and still looks well treated. |

4th (5) (5/2 +50%) The Waiting Game |
5/2(+50%) | (5) The Waiting Game 5/2, A revelation dropped to 6f, winning 54 in a row on AW between August and October. Winning run came to a halt at Chelmsford last time but he had an excuse (poorly positioned). Well drawn to attack here. Five 6f wins since August but came up short in her bid for a six-timer two weeks ago. |

5th (4) (4/1 +56%) Clipsham La Habana |
4/1(+56%) | (4) Clipsham La Habana 4/1, Two AW wins at the end of 2022. Three good placed efforts on turf this summer but not at best in recent stats. Bounce back needed. Below par the last twice but gelded since and well treated on 2023 best; drawn widest. |

6th (2) (6/1 -140%) Muscika |
6/1(-140%) | (2) Muscika 6/1, Winner at Epsom in August and landed a third C&D win when seeing off 11 rivals 23 days ago. Had a bit in hand so should still remain very competitive after a 5 lb rise. Chasing hat-trick after wins at Epsom and C&D; did it well last time; greatly respected. |

6th (8) (18/1 -200%) Maysan |
18/1(-200%) | (8) Maysan 18/1, Winner on turf at Lyon in June. Much better effort for new stable when third of 12 in handicap at Kempton (7f) 19 days ago. Claims if she can build on that now. 7f winner in France and ran well over that trip at Kempton latest; up in class today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (18/1 -29%) She's Centimental |
18/1(-29%) | (7) She's Centimental 18/1, Dual C&D winner at the start of her career but has disappointed more recently. Mark on the slide but she's a hard one to be confident about. Tapeta record reads -2111; needs to bounce back after a break but that's quite possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (66/1 -164%) Flag Flying |
66/1(-164%) | (9) Flag Flying 66/1, Has struggled in 4 handicap runs this year. Mark on the slide but can only watch for now. Yet to find his best for this yard and others come here with more pressing claims. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Admirable veteran Muscika has rolled back the years with successive wins but a 5lb rise for his latest success may just prove too much. Dickieburd arrives here on the back of two strong efforts at Newcastle and looks sure to remain competitive but any value may lie with CLIPSHAM LA HABANA, for whom Jim Crowley looks an interesting booking. Kevin Philippart De Foy's charge, twice a winner on the all-weather last winter, has dropped below his last winning mark and may improve for being gelded since his last run in September.
A poor draw ended THE WAITING GAME's winning run a fortnight ago but she has an inside berth this time and might be able to show she's still on a good mark. The main threat may come from the 3-y-os, with Dickieburd, another who is handily drawn, second choice ahead of Crimson Angel and Maysan.
She's Centimental is of interest back on Tapeta but the in-form DICKIEBURD is taken to win again now back up to 6f.

5th (9) (10/1 -25%) Miss Woo Woo |
10/1(-25%) | (9) Miss Woo Woo 10/1, Winner at Brighton in September. Very good third of 9 in nursery at this C&D (20/1) 32 days ago, clear of rest. Can make presence felt. Never far away when close up over C&D a month ago and just 1lb higher for this. |

10/3(+5%) | (5) Bulldog Drummond 10/3, 4/1, creditable second of 12 in nursery at this course (6.1f) 7 days ago, faring best of those ridden prominently. Looks ahead of his mark and worth a chance to open his account. Looked to have it in the bag here last week until headed late on; 2lb rise. |

Makes tapeta debut. Blinkers on 1st time. Some tough tasks since winning her maiden; this is more realistic in new blinkers. |

25/1(-25%) | (10) Whiteley Way 25/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Eighth of 11 in nursery at Kempton (6f, 18/1) 31 days ago. Makes tapeta debut. Modest latest run but nursery debut was promising and they take off 5lb here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (6) (11/4 -38%) Looby |
11/4(-38%) | (6) Looby 11/4, Lightly-raced winner. Winner at Brighton in September. Respectable second of 5 in nursery (4/5) at Chelmsford City (5f) 72 days ago, just failing. Makes tapeta debut. One to consider. The race didn't really go to plan when just missing out under a penalty at Chelmsford. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Having won her nursery debut with plenty in hand at Brighton in September, LOOBY couldn't quite follow up under a penalty at Chelmsford when clearly unsuited by the sedate early gallop. There should be much more to come from her after a break and her current mark looks exploitable, though the likes of Miss Woo Woo, Blue Storm and Bulldog Drummond shouldn't be underestimated.
BULLDOG DRUMMOND is steadily going the right way and he was better than the result at this course a week ago, so he's worth a chance to open his account at the possible expense of Looby. Miss Woo Woo is another one to consider.
She's been off for 72 days but LOOBY's latest run can be upgraded and she remains of interest off her current mark.

The penny has well and truly dropped with GIRL FROM ITALY, who followed up a Newcastle win with a resounding success over this C&D last week when defeating Voltaic by almost three lengths. On that evidence, Mark Walford's three-year-old filly remains one to keep on the right side of in the short-term and it would be no surprise to see her defy a 5lb rise. Sir Titan and Kodebreaker haven't been far off recently and they can again make their presence felt.
RICH WATERS caught the eye tackling AW for the first time since joining Grant Tuer at Newcastle recently and is given a chance to build on that promise now stepping back up in trip. The hat-trick seeking Girl From Italy rates an obvious danger. Tony Carroll pair Sir Titan and Voltaic also make the shortlist.
The 5yo RICH WATERS hinted at a return to form over 6f last time and his best efforts for Godolphin were over longer trips than that.
Ths is the racecard key.
