1st (1) (5/1 +17%) Sharp Distinction |
5/1(+17%) | (1) Sharp Distinction 5/1, Course winner. Eleven runs since last win in 2023. 2/1, really well backed but proved a let-down when last of 6 in handicap at Newcastle (12.4f) 24 days ago. Blinkers on 1st time. Back to a potentially lenient mark. 3lb below last winning mark but needs further than this now; blinkers on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (11/4 +50%) Switchel |
11/4(+50%) | (2) Switchel 11/4, 11/2, finally got off the mark with the hood discarded in 9-runner handicap at Chelmsford City (10f) 2 weeks ago, leading inside final 100 yds. Did that a shade cosily and can feature again from just 3 lb higher. 3lb higher than when off the mark at Chelmsford a fortnight ago; one for the shortlist. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (5/2 +79%) Bohemian Breeze |
5/2(+79%) | (4) Bohemian Breeze 5/2, Thirteen runs since last win in 2023. 80/1, given a considerate return from 6 weeks off on first outing since leaving Charlie Johnston (sold 16,000 gns) when tenth of 14 in handicap at Kempton (11f) 36 days ago. Interesting to see which way he goes in the market. Won three times last year; little impression on stable debut but that was in a better race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (17/2 -31%) Hill Station |
17/2(-31%) | (6) Hill Station 17/2, C&D winner. Keener than ideal and could run just respectably when 3¾ lengths fifth of 9 to Arazzo in handicap (5/2) at Wolverhampton (12.2f) 10 days ago. Must improve. C&D winner; behind a couple of these at Wolverhampton ten days ago; needs more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (12) (25/1 -108%) Pablo Prince |
25/1(-108%) | (12) Pablo Prince 25/1, 3-time C&D winner. Latest win at Kempton in September. 10/3, creditable fourth of 12 in handicap at Kempton (12f) 17 days ago, running on. In good heart and could well be involved. Three-time C&D winner; may just be found wanting back in a Class 5. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (40/1 -21%) Mildyjama |
40/1(-21%) | (10) Mildyjama 40/1, 28/1, ran no sort of race when well-beaten eighth of 9 in handicap at Epsom (10.1f, soft) 10 weeks ago. Watching brief advised on the back of that. 7lb below last winning mark, but not really threatened since returning for this yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (11) (50/1 -127%) Anisoptera |
50/1(-127%) | (11) Anisoptera 50/1, Course winner. Sixteen runs since last win in 2023. Run best excused when sixth of 11 in handicap at Windsor (11.4f, heavy, 28/1) 38 days ago, unsuited by drop in trip. Losing run up to 16 and hard to see her ending the drought over this trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (12/1 -60%) Sea Stream |
12/1(-60%) | (9) Sea Stream 12/1, Still green when fourth of 7 in novice at Bath (10.2f, good, 9/1) when lasts seen 6 months ago. Step forward needed on handicap debut. Makes her handicap debut after six months off; should stay this far on breeding. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (5/1 -25%) Arazzo |
5/1(-25%) | (5) Arazzo 5/1, First run since leaving Harry Charlton (8,500 gns) when winning 9-runner handicap at Wolverhampton (12.2f, 18/1) 10 days ago, leading over 1f out then soon clear. Carries penalty and worth consideration if arriving in the same mood. Won well on stable debut at Wolverhampton last time; major player under penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (3) (50/1 -150%) Blue Universe |
50/1(-150%) | (3) Blue Universe 50/1, Failed to capitalise on the drop in grade when second of 8 in juvenile hurdle (10/3) at Fakenham (16f, good to soft) 7 months ago. Fair on the Flat, respectable fourth at Wolverhampton back in January. Others more appealing. Returns to the Flat after an eight-month absence; market may indicate what is expected. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Switchel is only 3lb higher than for her recent triumph over 1m2f at Chelmsford and she must enter calculations in her current mood. However, this distance does appear on the edge of her stamina so fellow last-time-out winner ARAZZO edges the vote. The three-year-old made a successful debut for the Bernard Llewellyn stable at Wolverhampton last week and a 6lb penalty might not prevent him from following up. Pysanka finished behind the selection in fourth that day and is another to consider.
A host in with chances but SHARP DISTINCTION has dropped to a very tempting mark and in first-time blinkers, Amy Murphy's charge can leave a dismal effort behind and notch career victory number 3 at the expense of Upepo, who was given a mountain to climb by his inexperienced rider here on Tuesday and is clearly much better than that. Switchel and Pysanka round off the shortlist.
Another chance is given to UPEPO, a distant third of five in a farcical race here on Tuesday. He was 3-3 here prior to that.

4/1(+33%) | (9) Sea Scout 4/1, 10/1, fifth of 9 in novice at Kempton (1m) on debut 38 days ago. Up in trip. May do better. Fifth on last month's Kempton debut; possibilities if taking a step forward. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (15/2 -125%) Anglophile |
15/2(-125%) | (1) Anglophile 15/2, Promising sort. 4/1, second of 8 in novice at Redcar (9f, heavy) 24 days ago. Capable of better again for top stable. Went close at Redcar on second start and longer trip should suit; sets the standard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (16/5 -28%) Majestic Leo |
16/5(-28%) | (6) Majestic Leo 16/5, 5/2, tenth of 12 in novice (5/2) at Newbury (1m, heavy) on debut 27 days ago, very slowly away and always behind. Up in trip. Evidently thought capable of better. Completely blew the start on Newbury debut; was sent off just 5-2; should do better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (11) (3/1 +88%) Serviceman |
3/1(+88%) | (11) Serviceman 3/1, 20/1, eighth of 11 in maiden at Doncaster (1m, good) on debut 68 days ago. Up in trip. Eighth on his Doncaster debut in September; needs to step up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (12/1 +0%) Crackergee |
12/1(+0%) | (4) Crackergee 12/1, 28/1, fourth of 12 in novice at Newbury (1m, heavy) on debut 27 days ago. Up in trip. Should have more to offer. Showed ability on last month's Newbury debut, but may need an even stiffer test. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (4/1 -14%) Secret Force |
4/1(-14%) | (10) Secret Force 4/1, Frankel colt. Dam winner up to 1m (2-y-o 7f winner). Highly respected on debut for top yard. Stable won a division of this with a newcomer in 2021; market support significant. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (100/1 -203%) Navalanche |
100/1(-203%) | (7) Navalanche 100/1, 13/2, last of 5 in maiden at Chelmsford City (1¼m) on debut 35 days ago. Will need to leave that well behind. Tailed-off last of five on his Chelmsford debut five weeks ago; enough to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (20/1 -100%) Radical Design |
20/1(-100%) | (8) Radical Design 20/1, 180,000 gns Sottsass colt. Half-brother to smart winner up to 7.4f I'm A Gambler and 6f winner Perianth. Dam winner up to 1¼m (2-y-o 8.6f winner) who stayed 1½m. Respected on debut for a leading yard which has won this race twice in recent years. Well bred and stable has won two of the last three runnings; market revealing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (200/1 -33%) Expect Anything |
200/1(-33%) | (5) Expect Anything 200/1, 40/1, twelfth of 15 in novice at Redcar (1m, soft) on debut 34 days ago. Up in trip. Cheekpieces quickly reached for. Beaten a long way on last month's Redcar debut; cheekpieces on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (12) (18/1 -13%) Warrnambool |
18/1(-13%) | (12) Warrnambool 18/1, Promising type. 28/1, third of 12 in maiden at Kempton (7f) on debut 29 days ago, running on. Significantly up in trip. Should progress. Promising third on last month's Kempton debut; should stay the extra 3f; in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (3) (250/1 -67%) Burano Murano |
250/1(-67%) | (3) Burano Murano 250/1, Planteur gelding. Half-brother to 11.4f winner Barafundle Bay. Likely outsider on debut. Stable not known for winning 2yo newcomers and has the outside stall. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
ANGLOPHILE offered much more encouragement when coming home a close-up second over 1m1f at Redcar. The son of Too Darn Hot should have little issue with the extra furlong now reverting to the all-weather and a breakthrough victory could be in the offing. The biggest threat may emerge from Warrnambool, who caught the eye in third on debut at Kempton, although market support for Charlie Appleby's Frankel newcomer Secret Force would be interesting.
The suggestion is Godolphin newcomer SECRET FORCE, with confidence in his chance increased should the betting vibes be strong. Anglophile should have more to come on the back of his Redcar second and is feared most. Andrew Balding's Radical Design is a newcomer to monitor in the betting, while the fact that Majestic Leo went off at quite a short price on his debut suggests he's thought capable of better than he showed on that occasion.
Preference is for Godolphin's SECRET FORCE whose yard won a division of this race with a debutant three years ago.

1st (6) (9/4 +25%) Tashan |
9/4(+25%) | (6) Tashan 9/4, Only narrowly failed to make a winning debut in 5-runner juvenile hurdle at Hereford (16.2f, good) 38 days ago. Since joined Emma Lavelle and likely has more to offer yet. Went close at Hereford for John Butler last month; likely contender for new stable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (5/1 -82%) Denzil |
5/1(-82%) | (1) Denzil 5/1, Disappointed in Wensleydale Juvenile Hurdle at Wetherby earlier this month but had easily won a 3-runner event on debut at Stratford (16.3f) previously and must enter calculations. Left clear for wide-margin debut win; well beaten after refusing to settle in Listed race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (6/5 +70%) Livingit Du Large |
6/5(+70%) | (4) Livingit Du Large 6/5, Nirvana Du Berlais gelding. Half-brother to useful hurdler/fairly useful chaser Gua du Large, stays 2½m, and winning hurdler/chaser up to 25f in France Embrun du Large. Newcomers from yard often fancied. Half-brother to useful Irish jumper Gua Du Large; in good hands; a possible on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (6/1 -20%) Lenjoleur De Palma |
6/1(-20%) | (3) Lenjoleur De Palma 6/1, Shaped encouragingly when third of 5 in juvenile hurdle at Hereford (16.2f, good) on NH debut 38 days ago. Likely to improve and merits consideration. Behind Tashan when third of five at Hereford but shaped well there and can improve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (25/1 -150%) Romancier |
25/1(-150%) | (5) Romancier 25/1, Roman Candle gelding who was well supported for his Wetherby debut earlier this month but was brought down early on. This run should reveal more. Out of a fair Flat winner; 9-2 when brought down in early stages of recent debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (28/1 -300%) Blossom Tea |
28/1(-300%) | (7) Blossom Tea 28/1, Territories filly. Half-sister to bumper winner Fresh Perspective. Dam 1m winner who stayed 1½m. Could be a player on debut from shrewd yard. Out of a useful 1m Flat winner; does not have a daunting standard to reach on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (33/1 -32%) Jackson's Bay |
33/1(-32%) | (2) Jackson's Bay 33/1, €4,000 3-y-o, Joshua Tree gelding. Closely related to fairly useful hurdler/chaser My Manekineko, stayed 3¼m, and half-brother to 6 winners, including smart hurdler Marsh Warbler. Market check advised on debut. Half-brother to useful hurdler Marsh Warbler; cost 4,000euros in June; market may guide. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
The Wensleydale at Wetherby was all too much for DENZIL, but he booked his ticket to that Listed affair by strolling home in an admittedly weak three-runner event on his Stratford introduction and he can get another win on the board before possibly having his sights raised again. Tashan was more than four lengths ahead of the third Lenjoleur De Palma when touched off at Hereford and is an obvious danger. Romancier could bounce back from an unfortunate debut experience, and newcomer Livingit Du Large is worth a second look.
TASHAN made a good start over hurdles at Hereford last month and is taken to make a winning debut for Emma Lavelle. Denzil looks the likeliest danger on form, whilst Livingit Du Large may be the pick of the newcomers.
Denzil can features if he settles better than last time but the answer might be TASHAN, who went close on his debut at Hereford.

1st (6) (9/4 +84%) Oakley Boy |
9/4(+84%) | (6) Oakley Boy 9/4, 18/1, last of 6 in nursery at Yarmouth (6f, good to firm) 63 days ago. Visor on first time. Others more persuasive. Profile looks patchy but his three peak RPRs have been his three AW runs; now visored. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (11/2 +39%) Forager |
11/2(+39%) | (4) Forager 11/2, Winner at Beverley in July. Respectable fifth of 12 in nursery (25/1) at Kempton (6f) 29 days ago. 5f turf win in July; has had excuses since but none at Kempton last time; drawn wide. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (20/1 -100%) Roysdelight |
20/1(-100%) | (8) Roysdelight 20/1, Modest maiden. 7/1, respectable third of 5 in nursery at Bath (5f, heavy) 31 days ago. Should be very competitive from a handy draw. 0-9 but best form gives him claims and a sharp 5f should suit ideally; good draw; claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (17/2 -143%) Toolatetonegotiate |
17/2(-143%) | (7) Toolatetonegotiate 17/2, Lightly-raced maiden. Good second of 8 in nursery at Wolverhampton (5f) 45 days ago, staying on well. Gets the vote. Good second at Wolverhampton on nursery debut; capable of better; one for the shortlist. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (11/2 -65%) Sonic Si |
11/2(-65%) | (2) Sonic Si 11/2, Fair form at the start of the season, going close in maiden at Catterick (5f, soft) when last seen at the end of May. Gelded and his mark looks workable if fully primed after nearly 6 months off. In frame in four runs in the spring; gelded since; opening mark looks tough; yard in form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (18/1 -80%) Over Spiced |
18/1(-80%) | (3) Over Spiced 18/1, Winner at Leicester in May. 7/1, sixth of 8 in nursery at Wolverhampton (5f) 45 days ago. Makes polytrack debut. Not progressing and she was down the field on her nursery debut last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (10/1 -67%) Bacor |
10/1(-67%) | (1) Bacor 10/1, Winner at Ripon in June. Seventh of 8 in novice at Yarmouth (5f, soft, 9/2) 30 days ago. Makes handicap and polytrack debut. 5f turf win in June; held under penalty in 3 novice runs since; good draw for front-runner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (7/2 +61%) Loudan |
7/2(+61%) | (5) Loudan 7/2, Lightly-raced maiden. Seventh of 8 in nursery (15/2) at Sandown (5f, firm). Off 113 days. Makes polytrack debut. This is weaker than her first handicap run; widest draw not ideal though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (50/1 -25%) Miss Nifty |
50/1(-25%) | (9) Miss Nifty 50/1, Winner on debut at Brighton in June but struggled since, including 7f AW nurseries on last 2 starts. Remains to be seen whether the drop back to 5f helps. Not beaten many home since winning a Brighton maiden on debut (6f); now drops in trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Sonic Si has acquitted himself with credit in all four maiden/novice events to date and a gelding procedure may improve him on this move into nursery company. Even so, an opening mark of 74 does look on the stiff side and TOOLATETONEGOTIATE rates a more solid proposition. The daughter of Havana Grey arrives on the back of a solid second at Wolverhampton and that looks strong form given the third has subsequently scored. Bacor may fare best of the remainder.
TOOLATETONEGOTIATE looks capable of winning a race like this judged on her latest Wolverhampton second. David Loughnane has his team in good form and Sonic SI looks feasibly handicapped if he's ready to roll on his first outing since May. Roysdelight should also be competitive from the inside stall.
Oakley Boy is feared back on AW but TOOLATETONEGOTIATE bumped into a well-treated rival last time and can gain compensation.

1st (2) (12/1 -41%) Drumgill |
12/1(-41%) | (2) Drumgill 12/1, Fairly useful hurdler. 3 wins from 15 runs this season. Fourth of 6 in minor event hurdle (25/1) at Fairyhouse (20.5f, good) 16 days ago. Warrants respect on chase debut. Landed hat-trick over hurdles in August; chasing bow in weak race so market watch advised. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (4/9 +17%) Jigoro |
4/9(+17%) | (3) Jigoro 4/9, Useful hurdler. Below best when last seen at Punchestown in May but will be tough to beat if taking to this discipline. Strong hurdles form but needs to overcome an absence and he might want rain; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (25/1 0%) That's About Right |
25/1(0%) | (4) That's About Right 25/1, Fair hurdler. 3 wins from 7 runs this season. Seventh of 11 in handicap hurdle (14/1) at Gowran (16f, good to soft) 12 days ago. Up against it on chase debut. Plenty to find with some of these tackling fences for all the step up in trip will suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (125/1 -25%) Haveuseentherain |
125/1(-25%) | (5) Haveuseentherain 125/1, Poor chaser. Remains a maiden after 19 NH runs. 50/1, fourteenth of 18 in handicap hurdle at Limerick (21f, good to soft) 33 days ago. Switches from hurdles to chase. Hard to fancy. 0-19 under rules and 0-16 over hurdles; okay effort only chase start but best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (1) (5/2 -43%) Caesar Rock |
5/2(-43%) | (1) Caesar Rock 5/2, Boasts plenty of experience over fences and ran up to best, in first-time blinkers, when second of 9 in handicap chase at Limerick (19.2f, good to soft, 10/1) 32 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Should go well again. Fair effort in second when tried in blinkers behind The Big Chap (won again since off 140). |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
JIGORO should prove hard to beat here on his chase debut. The French-bred had some smart novice hurdle form before struggling in handicap company on his final two starts of last term. After winning on his second outing at Navan, he was runner-up in Grade 2 company the following month in Punchestown and, like a lot of the yard's horses, will have been bought with chasing in mind. Caesar Rock has the chase experience in the book and he's the obvious danger. Drumgill was progressive over hurdles and is another to note on his chase debut.
JIGORO acquitted himself well in useful company over hurdles and has been found a good opportunity to make a winning start over the larger obstacles here. Caesar Rock is the obvious danger.
CAESAR ROCK is a longstanding maiden over fences but he won't find a better opportunity to get off the mark in this sphere

17/2(-13%) | (3) Prairie Diamond 17/2, Bounced back to form when solid third of 9 in handicap hurdle at Fontwell (17.7f, good to firm) 83 days ago. 1 lb lower now and can't be ruled out. Lightly raced 5yo who was a fair third at Fontwell last time; could be in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (3/1 +45%) Sassified |
3/1(+45%) | (9) Sassified 3/1, Operating below his best at present, including in first-time blinkers at Exeter latest, but is now 9 lb below his last winning mark and has the assistance of a promising claimer. Enters calculations. Unable to pose a threat this season but on a reduced mark and Callum Pritchard rides. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (7/2 -17%) Imperial Jade |
7/2(-17%) | (2) Imperial Jade 7/2, Largely disappointed last term but had ended previous campaign with victory at Chepstow (16.1f) and got back to that sort of form when creditable third of 14 in handicap hurdle over same C&D (good to soft) 23 days ago. Returns to longer trip now and holds solid claims. Reappeared with good third at Chepstow; can be hope she'll be fine now back up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (22/1 +12%) Kentford Mallard |
22/1(+12%) | (7) Kentford Mallard 22/1, Failed to come on for return effort at Chepstow earlier this month and has something to prove at present. Well treated on her form in the spring but down the field on both outings this autumn. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (50/1 -100%) The Punt |
50/1(-100%) | (5) The Punt 50/1, Second in sole bumper. Unable to make a significant impact over hurdles, though, including on handicap debut, and has lengthy absence to overcome. Lightly raced bumper runner-up but pulled up on handicap debut and returns from absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (3/1 +0%) Catboy |
3/1(+0%) | (4) Catboy 3/1, Off the mark at Fontwell (17.7f) in September and improved again when second of 15 in handicap hurdle at Exeter (18.5f) last month. Unsuited by emphasis on speed at Fakenham latest and is one for shortlist. Improved form in the cheekpieces this autumn and latest run may have come too soon. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (28/1 -100%) Red Windsor |
28/1(-100%) | (1) Red Windsor 28/1, Sole success came over 2 years ago and arrives on back of poor effort, in first-time cheekpieces, at Warwick 16 days ago. Runner-up over fences last November and now 20lb lower, but he's struggled since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (10) (16/1 +52%) Too Sharp |
16/1(+52%) | (10) Too Sharp 16/1, Modest maiden hurdler who failed to improve on switch to handicaps in recent months. Hard to fancy. Open to improvement if cutting out the mistakes but his claims aren't overly compelling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (8) (20/1 -25%) African Lady |
20/1(-25%) | (8) African Lady 20/1, Modest maiden who has made little impact in 5 starts for current yard. Tumbling in the weights but makes limited appeal. Hasn't run badly when sixth the last twice but needs something extra today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (6) (15/2 0%) Ryder's Rock |
15/2(0%) | (6) Ryder's Rock 15/2, Newton Abbot winner in September who returned to form when respectable third of 15 in handicap hurdle at Exeter (18.5f, good to soft, 20/1) 30 days ago. 1 lb lower now and warrants respect. 11l behind Catboy at Exeter last time but perhaps the step back up in trip will help. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
CATBOY may have been inconvenienced by a quick turnaround at Fakenham after filling the runner-up spot at Exeter just eight days prior and the four-year-old is expected to bounce back on this occasion. Imperial Jade benefited from a wind operation when third at Chepstow on her return to action and is respected along with Prairie Diamond, who reached the frame at Fontwell in August.
IMPERIAL JADE has dropped to a handy mark and made a pleasing reappearance at Chepstow last month. She gets the nod. Catboy and Sassified rate the principal dangers.
The mare IMPERIAL JADE returned to form with a good third of 14 at Chepstow on her reappearance and earns the vote.

1st (4) (5/6 +100%) Castle Ivers |
5/6(+100%) | (4) Castle Ivers 5/6, Easy winner sole start in Irish points and scored twice in bumpers. Ran as if amiss in Grade 2 event at Aintree final start but clearly an interesting hurdling debutant for in-form yard. Created very good impression when winning Wetherby bumper by 7l in March; hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (3/1 +25%) Don't Mind If I Do |
3/1(+25%) | (7) Don't Mind If I Do 3/1, £75,000 half-brother to 3 winners, including fairly useful hurdler/chaser Lord Baddesley and bumper winner/fairly useful hurdler Robins Reef. Ran a cracker in Newbury sales bumper on debut in March, faring best of the newcomers and staying on well. Good jumps prospect. Very promising debut when second in 20-runner Newbury bumper in March. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (9/1 +64%) Aviation |
9/1(+64%) | (1) Aviation 9/1, Half-brother to bumper winner Flemensface and fairly useful 2¾m hurdle winner Flemenstide. Fourth in Market Rasen bumper 6 months ago. Promising fourth in Market Rasen bumper in May but needs improvement here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (80/1 -100%) Dangerous Touch |
80/1(-100%) | (5) Dangerous Touch 80/1, £135,000 buy after finishing runner-up sole outing in Irish points but has yet to make a real impact under Rules. Did not emerge from the rear division on his two hurdling starts this autumn. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (12) (4/1 +27%) Lanesborough |
4/1(+27%) | (12) Lanesborough 4/1, £70,000 3-y-o, Diamond Boy gelding. Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler Foillan. Dam unraced, closely related to fair hurdler (stayed 3¼m) Bold Conquest. Placed both starts in Irish points and commands respect. Placed in both Irish points; with good stable for rules career; market may guide. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (14) (50/1 +0%) Seek Him There |
50/1(+0%) | (14) Seek Him There 50/1, Showed a bit in bumpers and shaped as if in need of the experience on his hurdling debut at Uttoxeter in May. Will probably do better further down the line. Second on bumper debut a year ago but showed only minor promise in a maiden hurdle in May. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (11) (250/1 -150%) Klic Boum |
250/1(-150%) | (11) Klic Boum 250/1, Fourth in bumper at Fontwell and well held at big prices in novice/maiden hurdles, not unduly punished. One for handicaps. Posed no serious threat in three novice/maiden hurdles this autumn. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (150/1 -50%) Beaufort Breeze |
150/1(-50%) | (2) Beaufort Breeze 150/1, Irish point winner well beaten in Cheltenham novice on hurdles debut 4 weeks ago. This is easier. Struggling from fairly early stage on last month's hurdle debut at Cheltenham. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (40/1 -400%) Jumbo Mills |
40/1(-400%) | (10) Jumbo Mills 40/1, From a successful French NH family. Easy to back and never dangerous on hurdles bow at Worcester 5 weeks ago after a breathing operation. Never really got competitive on last month's debut but improvement is possible here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (15) (200/1 -33%) Polly Pi |
200/1(-33%) | (15) Polly Pi 200/1, Shaped with promise in both bumper starts and looked badly in need of the experience making her hurdling debut after a 6-week break at Stratford. Struggled when 150-1 for last month's hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (8) (100/1 +33%) Granemore Road |
100/1(+33%) | (8) Granemore Road 100/1, Half-brother to a point winner but pulled up both starts in that sphere in Ireland. Pulled up in both Irish points last season; can only be watched on this rules debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (16) (250/1 -25%) Runaway Bride |
250/1(-25%) | (16) Runaway Bride 250/1, Mid-division in maiden bumper at Tipperary for Mrs Grainne O'Connor. No promise in maiden/novice hurdle (tongue tied last time). Ex-Irish mare who was soundly beaten in two Stratford hurdles in early part of this season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (3) (100/1 -150%) Call Your Bluff |
100/1(-150%) | (3) Call Your Bluff 100/1, Better effort over hurdles starting out for this yard at Kempton recently. Looks one for handicaps. Just a respectable third on recent stable debut; others here look much stronger. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (13) (25/1 +0%) Out Out |
25/1(+0%) | (13) Out Out 25/1, Shaped well amidst inexperience first time up in bumper here in October 2023. Not seen since. Second in course bumper on debut last October but not seen again since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
15th (9) (33/1 -230%) Jafimgoso |
33/1(-230%) | (9) Jafimgoso 33/1, Bumper winner here who showed just modest form when odds on and held for hurdles debut at Uttoxeter in June. Had nothing go right during his brief stay in the race returning from 4 months off at Ludlow 4 weeks ago. Won course bumper in April but not much has gone to plan on first two hurdle starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
16th (6) (18/1 -157%) Diskatek |
18/1(-157%) | (6) Diskatek 18/1, Cost a bit and showed promise with a hood on for his debut in 2m Southwell novice hurdle in February. Not so good at Ludlow next time but remains with potential on return. Shaped well on both hurdling starts last season and can improve this term. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Castle Ivers paid his way in bumpers, with a fine Lingfield third behind a couple of promising types sandwiched by wins at Southwell and Wetherby. He then came up short in the Grade 2 at the Grand National meeting but remains a bright prospect, although so is DON'T MIND IF I DO. Alan King's four-year-old chased home the exciting Regent's Stroll in a Newbury race that usually works out well and is expected to come into his own now tackling obstacles. Jafimgoso and Out Out have races in them, so it is perhaps surprising that Harry Skelton partners their stablemate Jumbo Mills.
CASTLE IVERS and Don't Mind If I Do are good prospects for jumping and could be the pair to focus on, with narrow preference for Olly Murphy's charge. Diskatek can do better, while Ben Pauling's Lanesborough is a newcomer from the pointing field to note.
Two of these looked very promising in bumpers last season. CASTLE IVERS is narrowly preferred to Don't Mind If I Do.

1st (3) (4/1 +33%) Harb |
4/1(+33%) | (3) Harb 4/1, C&D winner. Latest win at Sandown in August. Backed at big prices and shaped well when second of 12 in handicap (10/1) at this course (6f, AW) 8 days ago, running on from an unpromising position. Has to be of serious interest (equally effective over 5f). Talented for this level and finished well for second here (6f) last week; betting useful. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (12/1 +0%) Recon Mission |
12/1(+0%) | (7) Recon Mission 12/1, C&D winner. Twenty six runs since last win in 2022. 17/2, respectable fifth of 12 in handicap at this course (6f, AW) 8 days ago. Very free that day and now back over 5f. On a losing run but effective over C&D and not impossibly treated; each-way shout. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (5/1 +17%) Alafdhal |
5/1(+17%) | (9) Alafdhal 5/1, Three wins from 24 runs this year. Respectable sixth of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f, 13/8) 3 days ago. Had been in good from prior to that and blinkers now fitted. Threatening at a modest level; blinkers now reached for; should go well again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (6/1 -33%) Mumayaz |
6/1(-33%) | (1) Mumayaz 6/1, Three wins from 19 runs this year. 7/2, tongue tie removed when winning 9-runner handicap at Bath (5f, soft) 21 days ago, despite being slowly away. Up 4 lb but sure to be a factor again at this sort of level. Versatile performer but this sharp 5f, even if strongly run, may prove inadequate. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (20/1 +20%) Lion Ring |
20/1(+20%) | (10) Lion Ring 20/1, C&D winner. 4 wins from 15 runs this year. Latest win at Chelmsford City in October. Tenth of 12 in handicap at this course (6f, AW, 10/1) 8 days ago having been very easy to back. Four wins since September but flopped here last week (6f) and is drawn widest today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (4/1 +33%) Agostino |
4/1(+33%) | (4) Agostino 4/1, Latest win at Chelmsford City in October. Good second of 6 in handicap at Chelmsford City (5f, 13/2) 14 days ago, carried right. Another bold bid on the cards. Two good runs at Chelmsford the last twice; well drawn; high on the list. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (15/2 +6%) Pop Dancer |
15/2(+6%) | (2) Pop Dancer 15/2, C&D winner. Creditable third of 7 in handicap at Chelmsford City (5f, 9/2) 35 days ago. Lurks on a dangerous mark these days. In good form in recent months but unlikely to be left alone up front. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (40/1 -344%) So Obsessed |
40/1(-344%) | (6) So Obsessed 40/1, 4 wins from 11 runs this year. Latest win at Windsor in June. 10/3, fourth of 6 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f). Off 121 days and can boast a good strike rate for this sort of level. Four 5f wins this year but absent since a lesser run at Wolverhampton four months ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (28/1 -40%) Alfa Moonstone |
28/1(-40%) | (8) Alfa Moonstone 28/1, Creditable eighth of 19 in handicap at Thirsk (5f, good, 11/2). Off 158 days. Makes polytrack debut. First run for yard after leaving Craig Lidster and a hood goes on. Starts out for new yard after five months off and in a competitive race; hooded first time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) (7/1 -17%) Moe's Legacy |
7/1(-17%) | (5) Moe's Legacy 7/1, Three wins from 20 runs this year. 7/1, career best when winning 10-runner handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 10 days ago by ¾ length from Alafdhal. Carries penalty but clearly in good order. Beat Alafdhal at Wolverhampton (5f) ten days ago; looks vulnerable under a 6lb penalty. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
MOE'S LEGACY was pushed out to score with more in hand than the winning margin suggests at Wolverhampton and she gets the vote to make light of a 6lb penalty. Mumayaz did it well when justifying favouritism at Bath last month and must enter calculations off 4lb higher, while this step back to the minimum trip can see Harb in a better light and he completes the shortlist.
This looks a reasonable race for the grade with plenty of these in form. MUMAYAZ cashed in on a drop in class at Bath 3 weeks ago and likely to be dropped in from his wide draw, he could be the answer with plenty of pace forecast. Harb also looks a big player having shaped well over 6f recently, while Alafdhal is dangerous is reacting positively to blinkers.
Agostino and Harb are high on the list but the addition of blinkers could see ALAFDHAL resume winning ways.

2nd (3) (10/3 0%) Someone's Wish |
10/3(0%) | (3) Someone's Wish 10/3, 5/1, bit below form eighth of 23 in handicap hurdle at Navan (16f, good to soft) 4 days ago. Switches from hurdles to chase. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Can make presence felt. Won beginners' before two narrow chase defeats and ran okay over timber on Sunday. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (7/1 +13%) Ricky Langford |
7/1(+13%) | (7) Ricky Langford 7/1, Moody sort. 25/1, fifth of 12 in handicap hurdle at Punchestown (15.5f, good to soft) 6 days ago. Switches from hurdles to chase. 3rd chase win in August but not at same level since; needs to be at best to defy this mark. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (13/2 -44%) Must Be Dreaming |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (2/1 +56%) Baltinglass Hill |
2/1(+56%) | (9) Baltinglass Hill 2/1, Latest win in hurdle at Roscommon in June. Fair winner at 17f over hurdles. Good fourth of 8 in handicap chase (10/3) at Sligo (17.6f, good) 50 days ago. Has to be taken seriously. Promising start to life over fences and won over timber earlier in the year; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (14/1 -87%) Andyourbirdcansing |
14/1(-87%) | (5) Andyourbirdcansing 14/1, Fair winner at 18f over hurdles. 25/1, last of 3 in minor event chase at Clonmel (18.4f, good to soft) 28 days ago. This more realistic. Hurdle winner; left chase debut behind when 4th on h'cap bow; 3rd of 3 since but respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (40/1 -21%) Brog Ahaon |
40/1(-21%) | (6) Brog Ahaon 40/1, Latest win in chase at Limerick in May 2022. 50/1, thirteenth of 20 in handicap hurdle at Punchestown (16.3f, good). Off over 2 years. Switches from hurdles to chase. Tailed off twice since first chase win in May 2022; 772-day absence to defy. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
BALTINGLASS HILL has run well on his two outings over fences and has a nice weight in this, with Tiernan Power Roche taking off 7lb. The Cable Bay gelding was fourth in a competitive enough contest at Sligo last time and remains on the same mark of 93. Must Be Dreaming won well on her penultimate outing at Tramore before finding Grade 3 company too hot in Punchestown. She has a shout here if on a going day. Someone's Wish didn't run too badly over timber at Navan the other day and his chase form is stronger. He's another for the shortlist.
SOMEONE'S WISH couldn't capitalise on a lower mark over hurdles at Navan on Sunday but he'd been in good form over fences so remains of interest back in this sphere. Andyourbirdcansing and Baltinglass Hill head the dangers.
The unexposed SOMEONE'S WISH has looked promising in three chase starts so far and he's unexposed

Noah's Light |
(7) (12/1 +14%)12/1(+14%) | (7) Noah's Light 12/1, Beaten a long way on all 3 starts now when attempting to repeat the tactics of his all-the-way win at Newton Abbot in July, dropping away quickly at the end of the back straight at Plumpton 4 weeks ago. Others preferred. Inconsistent & only 1-18 over fences, but some good form this term; might not be far away. |

1st (9) (28/1 +15%) My Mate Polly |
28/1(+15%) | (9) My Mate Polly 28/1, Stepped up considerably when third from 7 lb out of the handicap on chase debut at Exeter (17.5f, good to soft) last month. Ran out when well beaten at Huntingdon since, though. Cheekpieces go back on. 100-1 3rd on last month's chase debut but beaten when running out at Huntingdon last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (2/1 +11%) I Shut That D'or |
2/1(+11%) | (2) I Shut That D'or 2/1, Had been given a big chance by the handicapper (23 lb lower mark than for his chasing debut last autumn) and returned to form reverted to fences when scoring at Plumpton recently, proving a different proposition with regard to both his jumping and finishing effort. Could go well again up 3 lb. Returned to form to win at Plumpton this month; leading claims if backing up that effort. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (7/4 +50%) Cave Article |
7/4(+50%) | (6) Cave Article 7/4, Backed as if defeat was out of the question on handicap hurdle debut at Fakenham (20f) on return but disappointed. From a pointing background so interesting to see if the money comes for him again on chase debut now. Achieved little over hurdles but this point runner-up could be a big improver now chasing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (8/1 -100%) Celtic Ned |
8/1(-100%) | (1) Celtic Ned 8/1, Fair hurdler who shaped as if needing the run sent chasing after 8 months off at Fontwell. Has the physique and pedigree for fences so seems sure to do better. Upped in trip now. Has to leave chase debut form well behind but may have needed it; remains lightly raced. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (16/1 -14%) Always Busy |
16/1(-14%) | (3) Always Busy 16/1, Modest handicap hurdler, possibly amiss when well held on reappearance. Goes chasing now and 1 of 2 for the yard. Chase debut; tailed off latest, may have needed it; showed spark in March; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (11/2 +8%) Mr Sociable |
11/2(+8%) | (8) Mr Sociable 11/2, Poor maiden hurdler/chaser but he's given it a good go the last twice, placed again from out of the weights here last time. Could yet find a race. 18-race maiden but third over C&D last time and that form has worked out extremely well. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
I SHUT THAT D'OR got off the mark over fences at Plumpton earlier in the month and a 3lb rise might not be enough to stop Joe Tizzard's charge from taking another step forward. The booking of Harry Cobden for chasing debutant Cave Article shouldn't be ignored and it would be no surprise if he left behind the level of form he achieved over hurdles. Celtic Ned appeared to need his return at Fontwell and is expected to be a lot sharper.
CELTIC NED could do a lot better over fences on the back of his Fontwell return and he gets the vote up in trip. I Shut That d'or did everything right for once when winning well from the front at Plumpton and can go well again if in the same mood up 3 lb. It will be interesting to see if the money comes for Cave Article again now he goes chasing.
Preference is for I SHUT THAT D'OR, who won at Plumpton last time and represents the bang-in-form Joe Tizzard.

13/8(-9%) | (15) That's Nice 13/8, Won her only outing in Irish points in February and has switched to a top stable for her hurdle career. Interesting runner, particularly if backed. Snapped up by JP McManus after leading close home in a 3m Irish point. |

2nd (5) (6/4 +100%) Honky Tonk Highway |
6/4(+100%) | (5) Honky Tonk Highway 6/4, Expensive purchase after winning her only start in points and justified strong support when landing a listed contest at Sandown on her Rules debut in March. Down the field in Aintree Grade 2 a month later but remains a good hurdle prospect. Has had wind surgery. Listed winner in bumpers; looks made for this longer distance now sent over hurdles. |

3rd (10) (66/1 0%) Eileen's Orders |

20/1(+20%) | (9) Briery Bee 20/1, Dartmouth filly who reached the frame in a pair of bumpers in the spring. Fitted with a first-time tongue tie now hurdling after 6 months off. Bumper positives and she's bred to be much better now sent hurdling over further. |

5th (1) (250/1 -150%) Arctic Stream |

7th (6) (66/1 +34%) Kayf Hope |
66/1(+34%) | (6) Kayf Hope 66/1, Cost £55,000 after winning an Irish point in 2022. Only modest form when third on Exeter hurdle debut last November and can only watch on return. Beaten near enough 40l in her two runs under rules, the latest her hurdling debut (2m7f). |

8th (13) (100/1 -203%) Molly Mason |
100/1(-203%) | (13) Molly Mason 100/1, Related to winners but didn't offer any short-term encouragement on her Ludlow debut 2 weeks ago. In trouble some way out when beaten a long way in a 2m5f maiden at Ludlow (good; 8-1). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (40/1 -186%) Hit For Sixty |
40/1(-186%) | (4) Hit For Sixty 40/1, Half-sister to 3 winners, including useful hurdler/smart chaser Cheddleton, but she offered only minor promise on her Ascot bumper debut in February. Switches to hurdles back from 9 months off. Only eighth of the ten runners in her bumper but that was at Ascot behind a smart winner. |

11/2(+8%) | (2) Definite Dream 11/2, Has reached the frame on all 5 starts over hurdles, including second on 2m course handicap debut 16 days ago. Will be at least as effective back at 2½m. Likely to be in the shake-up yet again. Latest second came in a Class 5 handicap; unlikely to be winning a decent maiden. |

|F| (7) (200/1 -100%) Reely Delightful |
200/1(-100%) | (7) Reely Delightful 200/1, Last in bumper/2 mares' maiden hurdles. A first-time hood needs to spark major improvement. In good hands but has looked very limited in a bumper and two maiden hurdles; hood added. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (11) (200/1 -100%) Ironed Out |
200/1(-100%) | (11) Ironed Out 200/1, Has more than hinted at ability but probably won't come into her own until handicapping. Tailed off at huge prices in her three runs over hurdles, from 2m to 2m3f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (3) (200/1 -100%) Hill Of Scarriff |
200/1(-100%) | (3) Hill Of Scarriff 200/1, Successful on sole outing in points but looks more one for handicaps judged on her 2 efforts last month. Point winner but tailed off in her two hurdles; stablemate of Honky Tonk Highway. |

12th (14) (250/1 -150%) Princess Keri |
250/1(-150%) | (14) Princess Keri 250/1, From the family of Welsh Grand National winner Potters Corner. Runner-up on last of 3 starts in Irish points but never involved in novice hurdles at Ludlow and Ffos Las in recent weeks. Second in a point; beaten 43l and 52l in two runs over hurdles; very opposable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (66/1 -100%) Shakiyra |
66/1(-100%) | (8) Shakiyra 66/1, In good hands but only modest form in bumpers ahead of this switch to hurdles. Has shown a bit in bumpers but without suggesting she'll be the answer to this. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
HONKY TONK HIGHWAY was very disappointing in a Grade 2 bumper at Aintree, but she beat the winner of that race in a point-to-point before making a successful beginning to her career under Rules in a Sandown Listed event, so it may have been just a blip. She can get back on track now faced with hurdles, although That's Nice has to be feared having joined Nicky Henderson since a debut success between the flags. Briery Bee and Hit For Sixty are the pick of the rest.
Although HONKY TONK HIGHWAY failed to fire in a Grade 2 bumper at Aintree in the spring her Sandown listed success prior to that marks her down as a good hurdle prospect for her top stable. Nicky Henderson Irish point winner That's Nice would rate a possible threat if the betting vibes are strong. Definite Dream will be suited by the return to a longer trip and looks best of the remainder.
A big field but this might develop into a shootout between HONKY TONK HIGHWAY and That's Nice. Both are potentially smart.

10/11(+48%) | (6) Noble Champion 10/11, 11/4, fifth of 15 in novice at Newmarket (7f, good to soft) on debut 20 days ago. Tongue strap on first time. Likely to improve and respected. Showed ability when fifth on this month's Newmarket debut; can do better; tongue-tie on. |

2nd (10) (5/1 +64%) Vocal Legend |
5/1(+64%) | (10) Vocal Legend 5/1, 50/1, sixth of 9 in novice at Doncaster (7f, good to firm) on debut back in July. Off 119 days. Sean Levey partnered a 2-y-o winner for the yard last weekend. Open to improvement. Had excuses when well held on Doncaster debut in July; watch market on return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (12) (4/1 +43%) Wilhelmina |
4/1(+43%) | (12) Wilhelmina 4/1, Promising type. Second on 7f AW debut. Only sixth of 15 in maiden at Newmarket (7f, good to soft) 25 days later but she hinted at promise again. Thereabouts. Runner-up on Kempton debut and sixth in Class 2 maiden at Newmarket; shortlisted. |

4th (2) (33/1 +18%) Cancel Culture |
33/1(+18%) | (2) Cancel Culture 33/1, Twice-raced maiden. Fourteenth of 16 in maiden at Doncaster (7f, soft, 25/1) 27 days ago. Probably has a bigger effort in him, but that may not come until handicapped after this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (16/1 -88%) Astral Sea |
16/1(-88%) | (11) Astral Sea 16/1, €100,000 foal. Sea The Stars half-sister to several winners, including useful 2-y-o 7f winner Lose Yourself and 1¼m/11f winner Hafez. The mount of Harry Davies from the stable pair. Respected. Interesting newcomer for double-handed stable that does well with 2yos first time. |

6th (8) (28/1 +44%) Rumseg |
28/1(+44%) | (8) Rumseg 28/1, 50/1, twelfth of 14 in maiden at Goodwood (6f, good to firm, 50/1) on debut in July. Off since. Well beaten on his Goodwood debut in July; may need more time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (16/1 -33%) Thurso |
16/1(-33%) | (9) Thurso 16/1, 68,000 gns Dutch Art colt. Dam 5f winner out of Italian 5f/6f winner Rebecca Rolfe. Worth a betting check for stable which had a 2-y-o winner here at the start of the week. Stable can get them ready first time so well worth a market check. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (50/1 -150%) Dragon God |
50/1(-150%) | (4) Dragon God 50/1, £50,000 Territories colt. Half-brother to 3 winners, including 6f-1¼m winner Ajwad and 1m-1¼m winner Lightning Attack. The betting should help guide to expectations. Had wind surgery in September; watch market. |

17/2(+79%) | (3) Dios De La Guerra 17/2, Legends of War colt. Half-brother to 7f/1m winner Rey de La Batalla. Stable not a regular source of first-time-out 2-y-o winners and likely best watched. Half-brother to an AW winner; yard wouldn't be known for winning 2yo newcomers. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) (100/1 -52%) Juanfortherhode |
100/1(-52%) | (5) Juanfortherhode 100/1, €12,000 breeze-up buy. Starspangledbanner gelding. Dam winner up to 1m (2-y-o 6f-7f winner) who stayed 10.5f. A watching brief is advised unless the betting strongly hints otherwise. Stable not associated with winning 2yo newcomers. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
BEST RATE offered encouragement when third over this trip at Kempton on his debut and, after then shaping with plenty of promise in fifth over a mile here, he gets the vote to land a first career success. Noble Champion was well supported when fifth at Newmarket and, with that experience under his belt, he can emerge as the main danger to the selection. Of the newcomers, Oxford Circus is respected most.
BEST RATE caught the eye from a long way back here last week and gets the vote. Noble Champion and Wilhelmina are others who have shown promise, while Astral Sea, the mount of Harry Davies from the Crisford pair, looks pick of the newcomers before any betting clues are known.
This can go to NOBLE CHAMPION who showed enough on his Newmarket debut this month to make him of interest.

1st (1) (1/3 +0%) Minella Sixo |
1/3(+0%) | (1) Minella Sixo 1/3, Promising sort. Built on winning Fairyhouse debut when second of 8 in novice hurdle at Cheltenham (19.9f, good, 2/1) 27 days ago. Likely more to come yet. Only found Potters Charm too good at Cheltenham; strong form and worthy favourite. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (5/2 -11%) Mister Pink |
5/2(-11%) | (2) Mister Pink 5/2, Fairly-useful bumper winner who was returning from a year off when taking 8-runner novice hurdle at Punchestown (20f, good) 37 days ago, pushed out. Remains with potential in this sphere. Off the mark on his second start over hurdles when making a winning return at Punchestown. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (40/1 -150%) Born Bright |
40/1(-150%) | (3) Born Bright 40/1, Fair hurdler. Winner in hurdle at Fairyhouse in October. Tailed-off fourth of 6 to Oscars Brother in listed hurdle (80/1) at Cork (24.4f, good to soft) 18 days ago. Up against it. No good upped in grade at Cork and might not possess same ability as market leaders. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (66/1 -100%) Love Like This |
66/1(-100%) | (4) Love Like This 66/1, Modest hurdler. Remains a maiden after 8 hurdle runs. 14/1, creditable fourth of 9 in novice hurdle at Sligo (25.7f, soft) 27 days ago. Plenty on plate here. Modest placed form over hurdles in August but no progression since; hard to fancy here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Just four line up and, realistically, it looks between two. MINELLA SIXO ran into a good horse in Potters Charm at Cheltenham last month and can pick up the winning thread again. The Shantou gelding was no match for Nigel Twiston-Davies' charge then, but that was no disgrace as the winner has gone on to post an impressive Grade 2 win since. Mister Pink is two from four after his bumper and maiden hurdle wins and looks the obvious danger. He was a good winner at Punchestown last month, but needs to step forward from that. Of the two mares, Born Bright may be the one for third.
MINELLA SIXO found plenty of improvement when runner-up at Cheltenham last month and should be suited by this longer trip. He can bag his second victory over hurdles. Punchestown winner Mister Pink remains low mileage and is the obvious danger.
Mister Pink commands respect but MINELLA SIXO (nap) bumped into a smart horse at Cheltenham last month and his form is standout

4/1(+64%) | (4) A Perfect Day 4/1, £35,000 4-y-o, second foal: dam unraced half-sister to useful chaser (stayed 25f) Burning Ambition. Runner-up only outing in Irish points (May 6). Point runner-up who makes rules debut with trainer in fine form; one to be interested in. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (22/1 -38%) Remember Moi |
22/1(-38%) | (6) Remember Moi 22/1, Had a breathing operation after finishing placed in a bumper on second start in June but failed to repeat that form when fifth back at Worcester in August, hanging left. Hurdles debut up in distance. Placed on the second of her three bumper starts; improvement needed on hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (8/1 +33%) Dino Magic |
8/1(+33%) | (2) Dino Magic 8/1, Closely related to a winner on Flat and half-brother to fairly useful hurdler/chaser Los Banderos. Showed very little in a brace of bumpers, reportedly bled after Huntingdon run in April. Already had 2 breathing operations ahead of hurdles debut but he's certainly in the right hands. Tongue tie on. Hint of promise in the first of his two bumpers; has had two wind ops; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (1) (1/3 +54%) Ambion View |
1/3(+54%) | (1) Ambion View 1/3, Achieved only modest form when third in a pair of bumpers last winter but returned for in-form yard and looked a totally different proposition when making a successful hurdles debut at Exeter a month ago (18.5f). Penalty to carry but there's more to come. Won over 2m2f on hurdle debut at Exeter and he's bred to be suited by this longer trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (200/1 +0%) Diamond Dusty |
200/1(+0%) | (5) Diamond Dusty 200/1, Little encouragement in a brace of bumpers and as many starts over hurdles. Big odds and well beaten or pulled up on all four starts. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
AMBION VIEW's victory at Exeter was boosted by the runner-up winning at Cheltenham on Sunday and the manner of that performance suggested a step up in trip would see him in an even better light. A Perfect Day was second on his only start between the flags in Ireland and has to be of interest on his Rules debut, while Dino Magic and Remember Moi are the pick of the remainder.
AMBION VIEW left his bumper form trailing in his wake when making a successful hurdles debut at Exeter a month ago and this scopey sort looks up to defying a penalty up in distance. Tinklers Hill has been off the track over a year but he represents a leading yard so he's sure to be well prepared for this and is the obvious danger.
Joe Tizzard's representative AMBION VIEW made a winning hurdle debut over 2m2f at Exeter and is bred to be suited by today's trip.

1st (2) (11/4 +58%) Georgi Girl |
11/4(+58%) | (2) Georgi Girl 11/4, Won back to back 2m handicaps at Sandown and Kempton to start 2024. Found out in stronger races at Sandown and Cheltenham in the spring but may do better back in these calmer waters for a stable going quite well. Dual 2m winner last season and ran well when upped to 2m4f at Cheltenham in April. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (9/2 +25%) The Lord Maid |
9/2(+25%) | (1) The Lord Maid 9/2, Made a successful hurdle debut in maiden at Clonmel in February (for Josh Halley) and followed up for new yard in 20.5f Southwell novice in April. While an opening mark of 125 isn't obviously generous she has obvious unexposed potential. 2-2 over hurdles, the latter win on stable debut in April; makes obvious appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (9/1 -100%) Masked Dance |
9/1(-100%) | (4) Masked Dance 9/1, Second handicap success when seeing off 13 rivals at Aintree (2½m) in May. Did that quite readily and should be very competitive off 7 lb higher assuming she's fully primed after 6 months off. Drew clear on run-in at Aintree in May but needs to be in prime form again after her break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (6/4 +25%) Little Miss Dante |
6/4(+25%) | (3) Little Miss Dante 6/4, A dual 2m novice winner last term. Ended that campaign on a low note but back on track when third of 7 on Bangor handicap debut and reappearance last month. Shaped as if that outing might have just been needed and should be spot on now. Good third on last month's seasonal/handicap debut (2m3f) and still has potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (10/1 -11%) For Gina |
10/1(-11%) | (7) For Gina 10/1, Three handicap wins around 3m last season. In good form when last seen in the spring but got to be a chance she'll need this comeback run over a trip shorter than ideal. In good form when last seen in spring but resumes on tough mark and 2m7f+ suits her best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (12/1 -20%) Looking As You Are |
12/1(-20%) | (5) Looking As You Are 12/1, Runner-up 3 times in bumpers and struck in maiden/novice hurdles around 21f in the spring. Switches to handicap company for the first time on return. The stable has been doing quite well in similar races so market support would look significant. Dual novice winner last term (2m5f/2m4f); makes h'cap debut after layoff; still considered. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Little Miss Dante is entitled to improve for her third-placed reappearance over an extended 2m3f at Bangor last month, with this afternoon's 2m5f distance likely to help her cause. Olly Murphy's mare isn't taken lightly, but MASKED DANCE shades the verdict. The six-year-old was last seen in winning action at Aintree in May and a 7lb higher mark may not be enough to stop her on this return from a break. The hat-trick seeking The Lord Maid is also noted on her handicap bow.
The Alex Hales stable has had a couple of handicap hurdle winners in recent weeks so it might be worth chancing the returning LOOKING AS YOU ARE. Little Miss Dante shaped as if needing the run more than the betting suggested on her Bangor reappearance and is second choice ahead of Georgi Girl.
Olly Murphy's LITTLE MISS DANTE (nap) got back on track with a decent third at Bangor last month and is probably on a good mark.

6/1(+25%) | (10) Lady Wingalong 6/1, C&D winner. Latest win at Salisbury in July. Third of 5 in handicap (11/4) at Chelmsford (7f) 14 days ago. Enters calculations. C&D winner who has become expensive to follow and looks handicapped to her best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (5/1 -67%) Nammos |
5/1(-67%) | (1) Nammos 5/1, In good form over this trip at Chelmsford since rejoining Jane Chapple-Hyam, winning twice and second in between. A further 4 lb rise is unlikely to prevent another prominent showing. Record since returned to AW at Chelmsford reads 121; hard to dismiss in her current mood. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (7/1 -17%) Bint Havana Gold |
7/1(-17%) | (9) Bint Havana Gold 7/1, Dual AW winner over 6f at the start of 2024. Plenty of creditable efforts in defeat since, looking unlucky not to finish closer when fourth of 9 at Chelmsford (6f) 3 weeks ago. Big player if as effective now tackling 7f for the first time in her career. Looked unlucky at Chelmsford last time, but has something to prove back up in distance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (33/1 -136%) Lahina Bay |
33/1(-136%) | (8) Lahina Bay 33/1, 16/1, respectable third of 11 in handicap at Kempton (6f) 15 days ago. Has faded on both previous attempts at 7f, though. Mainly consistent since returning in June, but has something to prove back up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (7/1 +65%) Havana Force |
7/1(+65%) | (6) Havana Force 7/1, Creditable fifth of 9 in handicap at Southwell (7f, 9/1) 19 days ago. Blinkers on first time. Something to find on form. Placed in each of her first six starts, but not so good of late and now 0-9; blinkers on. |

18/1(-100%) | (2) Capuchinero 18/1, Latest win at Brighton in July. Creditable 1¾ lengths fourth of 10 to Nammos at Chelmsford (7f) 21 days ago. Finished behind a couple of these at Chelmsford three weeks ago; bit more needed. |

7th (12) (33/1 -65%) Thundering Breeze |
33/1(-65%) | (12) Thundering Breeze 33/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Respectable eighth of 14 in handicap at Kempton (7f) 38 days ago. Has work to do. Has been messed about at the start in both handicaps; probably has a bigger effort in her. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (7/1 +7%) Whoop Whoop |
7/1(+7%) | (4) Whoop Whoop 7/1, Pair of C&D wins in September. Showed she's still in form when third of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7f, 4/1) 61 days ago. Record over C&D reads 311; respected back here after a short break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (5/1 +64%) Resonance |
5/1(+64%) | (7) Resonance 5/1, Creditable third of 9 over C&D 77 days ago, finishing with running left. Looks competitive on form but the outside stall could make life awkward. 0-9, but she ran one of her better races when third over C&D in September; each-way claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) (10/1 +50%) Smouldering |
10/1(+50%) | (5) Smouldering 10/1, Winner at Kempton (7f) in May. Third on 7f Haydock handicap debut in July but has struggled in her 3 outings since. Has beaten a total of one rival in her last three outings; needs a resurgence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (3) (13/2 +0%) Miss Sunset Strip |
13/2(+0%) | (3) Miss Sunset Strip 13/2, 10/1, good ½-length second of 10 to Nammos in handicap at Chelmsford City (7f) 21 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. 2 lb better off with that reopposing rival and has to enter the reckoning. Closely matched with Nammos on recent Chelmsford running; open to more progress. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (11) (66/1 -100%) Angel Mac |
66/1(-100%) | (11) Angel Mac 66/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 40/1, fifth of 8 in handicap at Leicester (1m, heavy) 24 days ago. Improvement will be needed. Some promise on her Yarmouth debut, but disappointing since; best watched. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
NAMMOS (first) got the better of Miss Sunset Strip (second) by half a length when the pair met over this trip at Chelmsford last month and, with a claimer enlisted to more than offset a 4lb rise for that display, she gets the vote to confirm the form here. This step back up in trip should help the consistent Bint Havana Gold get competitive and she is respected most out of the remainder.
It's worth chancing the stamina of BINT HAVANA GOLD on this first attempt at 7f as she's on a winning mark and shaped quite well at Chelmsford last time. Nammos has thrived since rejoining Jane Chapple-Hyam and heads the dangers along with Lady Wingalot and Miss Sunset Strip.
The vote goes to WHOOP WHOOP (nap) whose record over C&D reads 311. She holds strong claims on her return from a short break.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Getting the weight allowance here for being a non-winner may prove the difference for GROOVEYKINDOFLOVE. The Muhtathir mare has been knocking on the door with three runner-up efforts and hasn't done a lot wrong in her last couple of outings. Going a bit further now may help her. Fillusin has also been hitting the crossbar. She is a bumper winner and, as a result, has to give the selection 8lb. Reina Del Mar stayed on well from the last when runner-up on her hurdling debut at Cork and may confirm that form with fourth-placed Meet My Loreley. Joseph O'Brien's charge is entitled to improve a bit up in trip.
There was plenty to like about REINA DEL MAR's opening second at Cork and she can improve past Henry de Bromhead's Grooveykindoflove. Meet My Loreley wasn't too far behind the selection at Cork and is next on the list.
A chance is taken on REINA DEL MAR, who made an encouraging start to hurdling at Cork last month and is a potential improver up in trip

Since scored on the level at Kempton (16f, 11/4) 22 days ago and she should do better in this sphere. Won on the Flat at Kempton (2m, AW) three weeks ago; may need a longer trip in this code. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (18/1 -227%) Golden Dove |
18/1(-227%) | (1) Golden Dove 18/1, Fair on the Flat (stays 1½m) and progressed from her hurdling bow when second of 7 in novice hurdle at Kempton (16f, good to soft) 10 days ago. Place claims again, Fair second at Kempton on second hurdle start and could give another good account. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (11/2 -38%) Loud And Proud |
11/2(-38%) | (4) Loud And Proud 11/2, €50,000 3-y-o, Shirocco mare. Half-sister to useful hurdler Russian Ruler. Dam, ran twice in bumpers, half-sister to fair hurdler/fairly useful chaser (stayed 2½m) Royal Choice. Placed on her 2 last starts in points and has to be respected for the Derham yard. Placed in points and has joined up-and-coming trainer for rules career; could go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (200/1 +20%) Mon The Hoops |
200/1(+20%) | (5) Mon The Hoops 200/1, No promise in 2 bumpers or on hurdles debut. Well beaten in both bumpers and likewise when 300-1 for last month's hurdle debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
SUNSET MARQUESA achieved a high level of form in bumpers last season before finishing a well-held second on her hurdling bow earlier this month. She did have a tendency to jump left at Uttoxeter but, with improvement likely in that department, Joe Tizzard's mare looks to have been found a fine opportunity. Loud And Proud brings plenty of pointing experience to the table and is sure to have a future in this discipline. Hello Cello can also progress now sent hurdling.
SUNSET MARQUESA was an above-average type in bumpers and finished a clear second despite her hurdling lacking fluency on hurdles bow, so sets a good standard even without considering potential improvement. Kissinthebackrow arrives on the back of a Flat win at Kempton and is expected to do better second time up over hurdles, while Loud And Proud rates as an interesting Rules newcomer for Harry Derham.
Bumper winner SUNSET MARQUESA was runner-up on her hurdle debut at Uttoxeter and can go one better today.

1st (6) (10/3 +5%) Torn And Frayed |
10/3(+5%) | (6) Torn And Frayed 10/3, Winless last season but he signed off with a solid fourth of 12 in handicap chase at Cheltenham (20.6f, good). However, started this season with a performance so clumsy at Aintree last month. Ended last season with good fourth at Cheltenham; didn't jump well enough on reappearance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (15/8 +25%) Eldorado Allen |
15/8(+25%) | (1) Eldorado Allen 15/8, Capable of smart form on his day over fences, proving as much when fourth in Coral Gold Cup at Newbury in December. Well beaten having rare start over hurdles at Plumpton in January and struggled in Ultima at Cheltenham and Grand National since. This much easier on return. Not seen since well beaten in Grand National but on good mark for veterans' chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (9/2 +40%) Rapper |
9/2(+40%) | (4) Rapper 9/2, Three-time winner over fences who shaped as if retaining ability after 6 months off when third at Aintree, but predicting his good days even when fitness was assured last season proved a thankless task. Inconsistent in recent seasons but ran quite well on last month's reappearance at Aintree. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (3/1 +54%) First Lord De Cuet |
3/1(+54%) | (8) First Lord De Cuet 3/1, Produced one of his best efforts in this sphere when second to Anglers Crag at Market Rasen (23.8f, good to soft) in January. However, he didn't quite match that level in 4 subsequent starts and record over fences now stands at 0-14. 3 lb out of the handicap. 0-14 over fences but ended last season with some very respectable efforts; a possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (3) (12/1 +40%) Bennys King |
12/1(+40%) | (3) Bennys King 12/1, Not the force of old but has paid his way in hunters in recent seasons and signed off latest campaign with excellent second in the Foxhunters at Aintree. Record suggests he'll need this after 7 months off. Second in major Aintree hunter chase in April but needs to prove he's worth current mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (33/1 +0%) Diol Ker |
33/1(+0%) | (7) Diol Ker 33/1, A useful chaser for Gordon Elliott but well held both starts for this yard last month. Needs to take a big step forward. Very useful at his best but well beaten on both starts for new stable this season. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
ELDORADO ALLEN faced some tall assignments at the end of last season when pulling up in the Ultima at the Cheltenham Festival and then weakening late on in the Grand National, having given a bold sight for a long way. Joe Tizzard's charge should prove far more competitive now pitched into veteran company and an overdue victory could be on the horizon. Bennys King arrives on the back of a fine second in the Foxhunters' at the Merseyside track and is feared most, ahead of Torn And Frayed.
It could be worth chancing the reliable SMARTY WILD, who has been off for almost 2 years but has been given a chance by the handicapper and is from a stable that is in good form. Eldorado Allen often keeps much better company than this and is the obvious threat ahead of Empire Steel.
The class act in the line-up is ELDORADO ALLEN, who is attractively weighted on his form in major handicaps last autumn.

Two AW wins here in April but she's lost her way and needs a major revival. |

15/8(+46%) | (3) Havana Sky 15/8, Career best when winning 10-runner handicap (8/1) at Southwell (6.1f) 8 days ago, leading under 2f out and keeping on. Consistency hasn't been his strong suit so far but respected with a repeat turned out under a penalty. Smooth win at Southwell last week and he's a big player again, under a penalty. |

2nd (5) (11/2 -83%) Poetic Jack |
11/2(-83%) | (5) Poetic Jack 11/2, Creditable second of 11 in handicap (11/2) at Chelmsford City (7f) 12 days ago, nearest finish. Could resume winning ways. Has been knocking on the door this autumn and he's respected on this drop back in trip. |

3rd (6) (11/1 -38%) Neptune Legend |
11/1(-38%) | (6) Neptune Legend 11/1, Course winner. 3 wins from 18 runs this year. Seventh of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f, 11/2) 52 days ago. Has fallen to a handy mark but his slow starts are a cause for concern. Three wins this year but he needs to rediscover his spark; equipment removed. |

Lurking on a handy mark if bouncing back returned to this venue. 12-time AW winner but last success was 13 months ago and he needs to get back on track. |

5th (7) (12/1 0%) Bishop's Glory |

Strong in the betting then and worth noting if support come for him again. Inconsistent sort with a record of 1-20 and he comes with risks attached back in trip. |

40/1(-60%) | (12) Enchanted Night 40/1, Unreliable type. One win from 57 Flat runs. Seventh of 10 in handicap at Chelmsford (5f) 7 days ago. Others make greater appeal. Record of 1-57 and was well held back on AW last time. |

8th (8) (25/1 -25%) Revolucion |
25/1(-25%) | (8) Revolucion 25/1, One win from 37 Flat runs. Eighth of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f, 18/1) 10 days ago, racing in rear and never a threat. Others stronger. Only one win from 37 starts and he's been well held on AW in his last five runs (6f/7f). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (50/1 -257%) Moorgate |
50/1(-257%) | (10) Moorgate 50/1, C&D winner. One win from 23 Flat runs. 28/1, eighth of 11 in handicap at Kempton (6f) 15 days ago, merely closing up late. May well be sharper now given that was his first start for 5 months. Just one win from 26 starts and he's been laboured in his last five runs. |

10th (4) (28/1 -75%) Bobby On The Beat |
28/1(-75%) | (4) Bobby On The Beat 28/1, 3-time C&D winner but out of sorts when last seen, last of 8 in handicap at Chelmsford (6f) 13 months ago. Likely best watched on this belated return. On dangerous mark but has something to prove after 390 days off. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Havana Sky returned to form at Southwell last week and is respected, despite being 2lb wrong under a penalty. However, POETIC JACK might be the one to side with following a string of consistent efforts, including when runner-up at Chelmsford earlier in the month. Lilkian was third here in August off an 8lb higher mark and a return to this venue might see him in a better light.
POETIC JACK has eased in the weights and arrives on the back of a string of consistent efforts so, from a handy draw, he could be the way to go returned to this shorter trip. Havana Sky hasn't been the most consistent but arrives on the back of a career-best success so has to enter calculations. Neptune Legend is another with claims from a basement mark for all his slow starts are a cause for concern.
Top of the list is HAVANA SKY, who was a smooth winner at Southwell last week and may well be able to follow up under a penalty.

22/1(+21%) | (1) The Little Yank 22/1, C&D winner. 17/2 and blinkered for 1st time, last of 4 in handicap chase at Gowran (16f, good) 12 days ago. Back up in trip. Chance if rediscovering old form. Last of four at Gowran latest; C&D winner in the past but hasn't won in over 2 years. |

17/2(-89%) | (7) Make Sunshine 17/2, Excellent second of 8 in novice hurdle at Naas (18.9f, good to soft, 9/1) 11 days ago, no match for promising winner. Can go well again now handicapping. Far from disgraced when second behind a potentially classy sort in a Naas maiden hurdle. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
WARM IN GOREY made an eyecatching return to hurdling in Punchestown, making up plenty of ground to stay on into second over a similar trip. Trainer Philip Rothwell and jockey Tiernan Power Roche are in a rich vein of form this month. Gordon Elliott's Boston Rover has faced difficult tasks in maiden hurdles, but is one who could have a say on handicap debut. Delias Pet has had a busy November, with victories over flights in Fairyhouse and Gowran Park before a third place off her revised mark at Punchestown, so she has to come under consideration. Make Sunshine and Stowaway Lass are others eyeing prize money.
MAKE SUNSHINE chased home a promising one at Naas and makes a fair bit of appeal now handicapping. Boston Rover could also have more to offer on his handicap debut. Pipers Meadow is another to consider, while last year's winner Ragin Cajun could revive.
Gordon Elliott's BOSTON ROVER was a big eyecatcher at Down Royal latest and Jack Kennedy is aboard for his handicap debut

6/4(+88%) | (6) Getalead 6/4, Returned from 6 months off in fine form, winning handicaps here/Warwick and not disgraced from inflated mark when eighth in competitive Cheltenham handicap (21f) 6 days ago. This less demanding and no surprise to see a good showing in present groove, re-united with this rider. Two wins this autumn and faced tough task at Cheltenham last week; could play leading role. |

2nd (1) (5/2 -25%) Irish Hill |
5/2(-25%) | (1) Irish Hill 5/2, Plenty of creditable efforts without success last term and dispelled a low-key reappearance effort in Silver Trophy at Chepstow when successful in handicap at Plumpton (20.5f) 17 days ago, perked up by change of headgear. Needs considering again up 3 lb. Returned to form to win at Plumpton recently and he's just 3lb higher today; player. |

3rd (2) (5/2 +38%) Pyffo |
5/2(+38%) | (2) Pyffo 5/2, Upped his game again this summer, career-best display when winning 13-runner handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter (23.3f) in June. Respectable fourth from 5 lb higher mark at Market Rasen (20.6f) followed a month later and respected now starting out for new yard/after a break. Won two in a row earlier in the season and respected on first run for Harry Derham. |

4th (3) (18/1 -157%) War Lord |
18/1(-157%) | (3) War Lord 18/1, Has tumbled in the weights in recent seasons and posted another good effort when third in handicap at Exeter (18.5f) on penultimate start. Second in 3-runner handicap chase at Plumpton (19.8f) 31 days ago but this looks tougher returned to this sphere. On a long losing sequence but there have been encouraging signs the last twice. |

|PU| (4) (9/1 -125%) Geezer Rockstar |
9/1(-125%) | (4) Geezer Rockstar 9/1, Bumper/maiden hurdle winner who ran poorly on handicap debut at Sandown (2m) in April. Off 6 months, back on track whilst shaping as if he'll come on for the run when fifth of 14 in novice hurdle at Carlisle (20f) 28 days ago but his mark does demand progress. A return to form is needed but he's on a competitive mark judged on Ascot maiden win. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Pyffo had excuses at Market Rasen in July and he'd been progressive prior to that so is worth a second look now in the care of Harry Derham. However, it looks best to side with IRISH HILL, who recorded a determined victory at Plumpton recently and a 3lb rise ought to be no barrier to further success. War Lord has been running with credit since returning in September and it would come as no surprise were he to be in the shake-up too.
IRISH HILL left his reappearance effort at Chepstow in his wake when successful in refitted cheekpieces (retained here) at Plumpton 17 days ago and a 3 lb rise shouldn't prevent another bold showing. Getalead will find this less demanding than last week's Cheltenham assignment and better can be expected. Pyffo is another to note on debut for Harry Denham.
The rejuvenated GETALEAD (nap) ran respectably in the face of a tough task at the weights at Cheltenham last Friday and he's the pick.

13/2(-44%) | (1) Regal Renaissance 13/2, Resumed winning ways over hurdles at Chepstow in March and backed it up with 2 good efforts, just touched off at Ludlow on chase debut in May. Shaped as if in decent heart after 6 months off when fourth there 4 weeks ago, a mixed round of jumping seemingly taking its toll late on. Can build on that. Went close on chase debut in May and made satisfactory reappearance last month. |

5/2(+44%) | (3) So Said I 5/2, Opened his account in this sphere at Lingfield in February. Aided by blinkers towards end of last season and ran okay on last month's return. |

9/2(-100%) | (2) Lady Jago 9/2, Won only start in Irish points. Promising novice hurdler this autumn; switched to fences for this handicap debut. |

4th (6) (3/1 +40%) Cluain Aodha |
3/1(+40%) | (6) Cluain Aodha 3/1, Fair handicap hurdler who belied unflattering odds sent chasing after 15 months off when third at Uttoxeter 20 days ago. Big shout off same mark if this doesn't come too soon. Solid start to chasing career when third of 13 at Uttoxeter this month; high on the list. |

|PU| (4) (20/1 -67%) Jeune Belle |
20/1(-67%) | (4) Jeune Belle 20/1, Useful bumper winner who landed short odds on her 2m Lingfield hurdle debut in December. Failed to kick on after, however, and pulled up at Fakenham on chase bow/return. Promising novice hurdler last season; pulled up on chase/handicap debut; can bounce back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (22/1 -144%) Fancy Stuff |
22/1(-144%) | (5) Fancy Stuff 22/1, Bumper winner who failed to progress over jumps for Dan Skelton. However, she's come good over fences this season, impressing greatly with the way she moved into contention when scoring at Bangor in June. Was notably easy to back after 5 months off when always behind at Southwell 4 weeks ago. Twice a stylish chase winner in spring but returned from break with poor run last month. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Narrowly denied at the finish over shorter at Huntingdon last time out, LADY JAGO looks just the type that could excel over fences as a former point-to-point winner. Harry Skelton getting back on board is another plus, and she is narrowly preferred to the more experienced So Said I, who was a winner at Lingfield in February over fences. Regal Renaissance should appreciate dropping back in trip and she has the ability to go close after a highly consistent last campaign.
CLUAIN AODHA made a promising start over fences after an absence when third at Uttoxeter and looks the one to beat off the same mark. Irish point winner/progressive hurdler Lady Jago is an interesting recruit to chasing and is feared most.
One with significant potential is Irish point winner LADY JAGO, who switches to fences after three promising hurdle runs this autumn.

40/1(-21%) | (10) Haveagobeau 40/1, Remains a maiden after 18 Flat runs. Blinkered for 1st time, seventh of 9 in handicap (33/1) at Chelmsford City (5f) 21 days ago, never nearer. Cheekpieces back on. Yet to be placed after 18 starts and he needs to raise his game back up in trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
SISTERS IN THE SKY went close at Wolverhampton on her first appearance on the all-weather since April and the five-year-old, who remains on the same mark, may have been found a decent opportunity to go one better. Time Patrol has been running consistently well of late and has to enter calculations. Others to note include Midnight Flame and Apple A Dey.
SISTERS IN THE SKY could be set to resume winning ways judged on last week's Wolverhampton second. Time Patrol and Midnight Flame are dangers.
Preference is for SISTERS IN THE SKY, who has won three times at sprint trips this year and had a near miss at Wolverhampton last time.

4/1(0%) | (5) Arthur's Victory 4/1, Creditable fourth of 12 in handicap hurdle (16/1) at Punchestown (15.5f, good to soft) 6 days ago. One to consider. Encouraging signs over timber including last week's 4th when unlucky not to finish closer. |

Pulled up in handicap hurdle (14/1) at Gowran (16f, good to soft) 12 days ago, folding tamely between 4 out and 3 out. Booking of Stone-Walsh a plus. Clonmel maiden hurdle winner on penultimate start and too bad to be true latest. |

8th (4) (14/1 -87%) Buttoned Up |
14/1(-87%) | (4) Buttoned Up 14/1, 20/1, sixth of 11 at Wexford (16.4f, heavy) 24 days ago. Hasn't gone on as expected over hurdles, a return to maiden company failing to revive her fortunes last time. Minor promise in maiden hurdles but shown very little since handicapping and on tough mark. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
ARTHUR'S VICTORY came home fourth in a higher grade at Punchestown last week, which ought to bring her into contention for this handicap hurdle. San Aer would prefer more cut in the ground, but has been in decent form on the Flat and could show up well. It is a long time since Willywampus has been seen over flights but his chasing form merits respect, although the concern is that he certainly appears to prefer fences. Marlpark has to bounce back from being pulled up at Gowran Park, but he did win on his penultimate start in Clonmel. Perhaps the ground caught Romella out when she weakened out of contention at Limerick on Tuesday. Better ground will help, but she may be best watched.
A pretty moderate handicap and it could be worth chancing WILLYWAMPUS who won a handicap chase here in December and returns from a lower hurdles mark. Romella could bounce back and take a hand, while Arthur's Victory is another to consider.
This can go the way of ROMELLA who has been knocking on the door again in recent starts and is still very well treated

1st (3) (9/2 -50%) Famoso |
9/2(-50%) | (3) Famoso 9/2, Largely consistent type who stripped fitter for his recent hurdling spin to make a winning return to fences at Hereford (16f, good) earlier this month, taking his record at that track to 2 wins and 6 placed efforts from 9 starts. 5 lb higher and fancied to be bang there. Three wins last season and scored at Hereford this month; respected up 5lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (6/4 +79%) Torneo |
6/4(+79%) | (6) Torneo 6/4, Fairly useful Flat winner in France and won a weak juvenile hurdle at Wetherby in January. Found only one too good on handicap debut at Fontwell following month but couldn't cope with a no-hiding-place introduction to chasing on return at Uttoxeter last month. Should improve, though. No match for first two on chase debut but it was a warm race and he could improve for it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (11/4 +45%) Hatos |
11/4(+45%) | (4) Hatos 11/4, Off the mark in this sphere at Ffos Las (16f) in February and improved when following up in 4-runner C&D handicap. Well supported but unable to live with a couple of chasing debutants on return/first outing since leaving Anthony Honeyball at Fontwell recently and now cheekpieces are applied. Completed double with C&D win in February; could improve for last month's reappearance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (11/1 +45%) Delpotro |
11/1(+45%) | (7) Delpotro 11/1, Successful 2 out of his 3 starts over fences at Nort-sur-Erdre earlier this year. Claimed from Gabriel Leenders for €9,106 but has been well below that level on both starts for this yard (keener than ideal. Handicapper eases his grip but will need to settle better if he's to finish off his race. Two-time French chase winner; hasn't really shone on first two British starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (12/1 -41%) Call Off The Dogs |
12/1(-41%) | (2) Call Off The Dogs 12/1, Made a fine start to the campaign, making it 3 wins from his first 4 starts (all at Fontwell) in September. Run of good form halted back there just less than a fortnight ago so needs to bounce back dropped back in trip. Three wins at Fontwell this season; below par there a fortnight ago but not discounted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (15/2 -25%) Karaktere D'enfer |
15/2(-25%) | (5) Karaktere D'enfer 15/2, Close second to a useful sort in a newcomers race at Fontainebleau in March 2023 and more encouragement for this yard after 8 months off in 2m Uttoxeter maiden on return, considerately handled (reportedly had breathing problem). Failed to build on that here next time and now goes chasing. Benefits from valuable 4yo allowance on chase/handicap debut; interesting contender. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
FIRST ANGEL enjoyed a productive campaign after joining this yard in the spring of last year, culminating in an impressive all-the-way victory over 2m1f at Stratford. Nudged up 2lb on his return from the sidelines, he gets the vote to land the spoils. Torneo should strip fitter for his chasing debut third at Uttoxeter and he must be of interest off 2lb lower, while last-time-out Hereford winner Famoso completes the shortlist.
A few in with chances but the suggestion is FAMOSO, who made a winning return to fences at Hereford earlier this month and Matt Sheppard's 8-y-o is fancied to defy a 5 lb higher mark at the expense of First Angel, who made it 2 wins from 4 starts for this yard (both at Stratford) when last seen back in summer 2023. Torneo should improve on his initial effort over fences so can edge out Hatos for third.
The 4yo KARAKTERE D'ENFER is a possible improver on today's handicap and chase debut and he is taken to exploit an 8lb age allowance.

25/1(+11%) | (2) Annie Hathaway 25/1, Getaway mare. Sister to fair hurdler Forget The Way, stays 2¼m, and half-sister to 2 winners, including fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser Midnightreferendum. Has a good pedigree but jockey bookings suggest Charisma Cat is Alan King's main hope. |

80/1(+20%) | (4) Cinderello 80/1, Half-sister to a point winner from the family of fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser (stayed 4m) Cogry. 14/1, well held in Southwell bumper on debut 4 weeks ago. Too green to do herself justice when fifth of seven at Southwell last month. |

10th (5) (50/1 -52%) Dartmouth Rose |
50/1(-52%) | (5) Dartmouth Rose 50/1, Better effort in bumpers in May when third at Market Rasen, albeit possibly flattered after being well positioned. Bred to stay well. Belied 200-1 odds when third at Market Rasen but this race looks much deeper. |

11th (9) (25/1 -39%) Good Buy Dolly |
25/1(-39%) | (9) Good Buy Dolly 25/1, £8,000 3-y-o, Battle of Marengo filly. Half-sister to fairly useful hurdler Tintintin and fair hurdler/chaser Gipsy Lee Rose. Dam modest French chase winner around 2¼m. Wears tongue strap. Half-sister to connections' useful hurdler Tintintin; market may point the way. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Fresh off a successful weekend at Cheltenham, the Nicky Henderson team could have a talented newcomer on their hands in DIAMONDS GALORE. A half-sister to Willmount, she can get off the mark at the main expense of Flamingo Grove, a well-bred debutant from the stable that landed this contest last year. A 7lb penalty will make life tougher for Charisma Cat after scoring first time out at Southwell, while Twistthenightaway and Beauty In The Park are other newcomers to monitor for market support.
This will probably go a newcomer and the betting will be revealing. BEAUTY IN THE PARK, Diamonds Galore and Flamingo Grove are three of the more appealing ones as things stand. The penalised Charisma Cat looks to have work to do if she's to follow up in a deep bumper.
The suggestion is FLAMINGO GROVE, who changed hands for a six-figure sum after her impressive Irish point debut in April.

18/1(-29%) | (6) Apache Canyon 18/1, Winner at Southwell in October. Seventh of 9 in handicap at Southwell (12.1f, 7/2) 14 days ago. Contrasting efforts in his last two starts at Southwell; not quite sure what to expect. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Johnjay has been knocking on the door on his most recent starts and stepping back up to 1m2f may suit providing the four-year-old settles in the early stages. Crafter almost caused a huge surprise over C&D last week and has to be considered, especially being 2lb well-in, but the vote goes to RENESMEE. Second at Chelmsford a fortnight ago, Alice Haynes' filly might have even more to offer.
BLUE COLLAR is better than he could show at Newmarket 3 weeks ago and hasn't been with David Evans long so could be worth chancing back in headgear on his first go on AW. Johnjay and Crafter are a couple of the other likely types.
Preference is for CURTIZ who ran well to finish second on his return from a break at Chelmsford last month. That form has been franked.

JARRIVE DE MEE is likely to be an above-average recruit for Willie Mullins. He won his point-to-point at Curraghmore in April and the horse he beat into second has since landed an auction maiden hurdle on racecourse debut at Bellewstown. Jacob's Ladder switches to hurdling after winning his bumper in Down Royal at the start of the month. He is sure to be well schooled for this assignment. Beauforts Storm outran her odds when keeping on for second in a maiden hurdle at Naas and that was a marked improvement on previous performances in this sphere. Therellbguddaysyet was placed in a bumper over further at Listowel in June, so is worth a market check.
JACOB'S LADDER and Jarrive de Mee are good jumps prospects for top yards, and with race-fitness on his side, Gordon Elliott's charge can make a successful start in this sphere. Beauforts Storm has place claims again.
JACOB'S LADDER impressed when landing a Down Royal bumper on his return and could be an exciting prospect over hurdles

5th (1) (40/1 -471%) Demilion |
40/1(-471%) | (1) Demilion 40/1, Fairly useful handicapper at best on Flat (stays 12.5f) for Charlie Johnston but ended 2023 out of sorts. Yet to get near that level over hurdles but could show more now handicapping. Some useful Flat form in 2023 and he has potential off his opening jumps mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (4/1 -20%) Dirty Den |
4/1(-20%) | (2) Dirty Den 4/1, Fair winner at 14f in bumpers and not disgraced when second of 10 in a maiden hurdle at Hereford (16.2f, good) in May. Ran to a similar level at Fakenham despite making mistakes and warrants respect now switching to a low-level handicap after a break for new yard. Listed bumper runner-up who could be on a good mark for this handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (66/1 -100%) Kauto Kawai |
66/1(-100%) | (4) Kauto Kawai 66/1, Poor maiden hurdler who was well held on first outing since leaving David Pipe in 14-runner handicap at Chepstow (16f, good to soft) 23 days ago. 2nd on debut in France in September 2023 but he's struggled to get competitive in Britain. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Joe Tizzard has his string in fine form at present and his AMERICAN LAND gets the vote to bring up a double. The six-year-old gets in unpenalised for last week's Taunton success and he should prove tough to stop with a repeat of that effort. Highly tried last season, this represents an ease in grade for Dirty Den and he looks the main danger to the selection on his handicap debut. Demilion is respected most out of the remainder.
AMERICAN LAND escapes a penalty for last week's Taunton success and should prove hard to beat if turning up in similar form. Dirty Den and Penna Rossa are feared most.
This revolves around AMERICAN LAND, who won comfortably at Taunton last week and escapes a penalty. Dirty Den is second choice.

2nd (2) (2/1 +50%) Solvency |
2/1(+50%) | (2) Solvency 2/1, Fair colt. 1 win from 1 run this year. Winner at Hamilton in September. 11/1, 13¾ lengths eleventh of 12 to Une Pointure in listed race at Deauville (5.5f, heavy) 31 days ago, slowly away. Both starts on turf, winning at Hamilton then comfortably held in French Listed event. |

66/1(-164%) | (6) Dreambird Dolly 66/1, Twice-raced maiden. Third of 4 in novice (10/1) at Nottingham (5f, soft) 15 days ago. Form of latest turf effort is modest but she is bred to make bigger steps. |

5th (8) (9/2 +25%) One For Harvey |
9/2(+25%) | (8) One For Harvey 9/2, Lightly-raced maiden. 11/4, creditable fourth of 11 in maiden at Chelmsford City (6f) 21 days ago. Makes tapeta debut. Not taken lightly. Proving consistent (form figures 3334) and has a fighting chance at the weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (33/1 -175%) Fancy Dancer |
33/1(-175%) | (4) Fancy Dancer 33/1, 38,000 gns foal, 60,000 gns yearling, Dandy Man filly. Half-sister to 3 winners, including 2-y-o 7f winner Tawafag and winner up to 7f Bagara. 12/1, sixth of 8 in maiden at Southwell (6.1f) on debut 17 days ago. Only a modest sixth at Southwell and needs a significant step forward. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (80/1 -21%) Rovinia |
80/1(-21%) | (9) Rovinia 80/1, Twice-raced maiden. 40/1, fifth of 10 in maiden at Chelmsford City (6f) 21 days ago. Drop in distance needs to prompt sizeable further progress. |

8th (1) (7/2 -5%) Rock Hunter |
7/2(-5%) | (1) Rock Hunter 7/2, Fairly useful gelding. Blinkered for 1st time, good fourth of 10 in novice (15/2) at Chelmsford City (6f) 12 days ago. Makes tapeta debut. Player. The most exposed contender and is 0-9 since debut win but has leading claims on form. |

9th (7) (200/1 -203%) Dusky Rain |
200/1(-203%) | (7) Dusky Rain 200/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 50/1, ninth of 13 in nursery at Chelmsford City (6f) 21 days ago, slowly away. Blinkered for 1st time. Combination of new trip and first-time headgear needs to make a big difference. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
ROCK HUNTER was a close fourth in a similar event over 6f at Chelmsford earlier in the month and a repeat of that form may well be good enough to take this contest. That said, Elouise's Prince is an obvious threat having got off the mark over C&D a month ago but he carries a 7lb penalty as a result. Others to note are One For Harvey and Solvency.
ELOUISE'S PRINCE left his debut form well behind switched to AW when scoring over C&D in good style last month and can defy a penalty with more improvement likely. Rock Hunter made a positive start to his AW career when a close fourth at Chelmsford and is next best ahead of One For Harvey.
Being drawn wider than last time isn't ideal but ELOUISE'S PRINCE is otherwise an appealing sort. Rock Hunter is second choice.

2nd (5) (5/2 +38%) Fernando |
5/2(+38%) | (5) Fernando 5/2, 7/1, showed improved form despite still looking green when winning 7-runner nursery at Yarmouth (8f, good) 45 days ago, leading final 1f. Makes tapeta debut. Sure to have more to offer so has to be taken seriously up 4 lb. Hung left but kept on stoutly to win a 1m nursery at Yarmouth last month; can do better. |

3rd (8) (50/1 -100%) Georginio |

18/1(-80%) | (2) Mayor Of Maghera 18/1, Winner at Musselburgh in August. 14/1, respectable fourth of 10 in nursery at Newcastle (7.1f) 23 days ago. Will be suited by this return to 1m. Chance on his turf best but needs to step up on his last two runs on AW. |

6th (4) (11/5 +51%) Anthropologist |
11/5(+51%) | (4) Anthropologist 11/5, 6/1, showed improved form when winning 6-runner nursery at Newcastle (8f) a fortnight ago, leading final 1f and just kept up to work. Merits serious consideration from 3 lb higher. Attracted support prior to a game Newcastle win two weeks ago; respected despite 3lb rise. |

7th (9) (15/2 -88%) Montbeliarde |
15/2(-88%) | (9) Montbeliarde 15/2, 15/8, wasted no time getting back to form when second of 8 in nursery at Kempton (8f) just over 5 weeks ago. Makes tapeta debut. Should be in the mix. Has bumped into handicap blots on both runs on AW; up in weights but still a key player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (14/1 -133%) Queen Of Good News |
14/1(-133%) | (1) Queen Of Good News 14/1, Possibly needed run when tenth of 18 in valuable sales event at Newmarket (6f, good to soft, 28/1) just under 7 weeks ago, unable to sustain effort. Makes handicap debut and should make more of an impact. Below par in sales race latest; promise in maiden/novice company; new trip for h'cap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (10/1 +29%) Fast Bullet |
10/1(+29%) | (3) Fast Bullet 10/1, 80/1, proved a different proposition when second of 7 in novice at this course (7.1f) 24 days ago. Makes handicap debut. May do better still now upped in trip. Good step forward upped to 7f/switched to AW last month; can progress again at a mile. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
This looks open on paper and only a tentative vote can go to RIYADH GEM. Picked up for 10,000gns as a yearling, the Oasis Dream colt fetched 150,000 euros at the Breeze-Ups earlier this year but hasn't yet been able to justify that price tag. However, a step up in trip looks certain to suit while the switch to nurseries, off an opening mark of 67, is another interesting angle. Yarmouth scorer Fernando merits respect from 4lb higher, while others to note include Anthropologist and Montbeliarde.
FERNANDO showed improved form to get off the mark on nursery debut at Yarmouth last month and Ed Walker's charge can make light of a 4 lb rise at the expense of Anthropologist, who found a jolt of progress to open his account at Newcastle a fortnight ago and could kick on now up and running. Montbeliarde and Queen of Good News can fight out minor honours.
Montbeliarde has bumped into a couple of handicap blots and should run well but NIDAAMI is an interesting runner now up in trip.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Ghaiyya boasts an attractive profile and has to be noted, while the well-bred Empire Power could get competitive on her racecourse bow. Cape Flora and Falakeyah are other noteworthy newcomers, but the verdict is for HONOUR WHIM. She must be pleasing connections at home to be pitched in at Newbury on debut and it was a decent effort in third. The winner looked really useful and this filly might be worth another chance on her all-weather bow.
This can go to one of the newcomers, with the costly Kingman yearling CAPE FLORA making the most appeal before market clues. Falakeyah and Empire Power are other likely types.
Ghaiyya is the pick of the runners with experience. FALAKEYAH, Empire Power and Cape Flora are very interesting newcomers.

11th (6) (11/1 +8%) Gunlock |
11/1(+8%) | (6) Gunlock 11/1, Confirmed debut promise when off the mark in a Newcastle maiden (1m) in April. Disappointing since, including in handicaps when last seen in June. Absent since but too soon to be writing him off. Looked a good prospect when scoring at Newcastle in April but failed to go on in handicaps. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
ROGUE ENCORE might be one to look out for over the winter months and, following a brace of successes at Newcastle, the improving three-year-old is taken to defy a penalty and complete his hat-trick. That said, Helm Rock appeared to be an unlucky loser when second at Chelmsford a fortnight ago and he merits respect from just 1lb higher. Waiting All Night will look to lead and will be a threat to all, while Chuzzlewit should not be written off now dropped in class.
HELM ROCK has been given a big chance by the handicapper and may well have capitalised with a clear run when just failing to get on top at Chelmsford (1m) 2 weeks ago. He earns the vote to confirm the promise of that run, with hat-trick seeking 3-y-o Rogue Encore next best. Gincident and Waiting All Night are others to consider.
Richard Fahey's GINCIDENT figures on a lenient mark and wasn't seen to best effect when sixth at Doncaster last time, so gets the vote.

Wild Angel is more than capable of making the frame in a race of this nature but could be vulnerable once again. With that in mind, the vote goes to PATAGONIA GIRL following her encouraging second at Kempton a few weeks ago and she may have more improvement left to come. Kate O'Riley and Rock Diva are others with valid form claims, while Orionis and Safe Idea are newcomers to consider.
Preference is for PATAGONIA GIRL, who was doing her best work at the finish at Kempton last month and remains with potential. Wild Angel and Crepe Suzette rate the principal dangers.
Preference is for ROCK DIVA, who has very solid claims. Patagonia Girl and Wild Angel are also respected on form.

A couple of interesting newcomers in the shape of Gamrai and Wolfpack are unleashed by their powerful yards and both warrant market checks, but experience could win the day and it is AR RAYYAN who shades preference. Sent off as second favourite and finishing fourth on debut behind a colt deemed good enough for the Futurity at Doncaster last month, Ralph Beckett's charge showed up well for a long way and is expected to step forward.
Despite blowing the start, AR RAYYAN shaped with plenty of encouragement when fourth in a Kempton novice 6 weeks ago, impressing with how he travelled for a long way. Open to significant improvement, he could be worth siding with to confirm the promise of that run and come out on top. Gamrai makes loads of appeal on paper and is respected along with Cy Twombly. Wolfpack and Atlantic Sunset are another pair of newcomers to note.
Ralph Beckett's AR RAYYAN really caught the eye on his Kempton debut fourth and is taken to put that experience to good use.

A return to 7f worked just the treat for AMAYSMONT when regaining the winning thread at Chelmsford a fortnight ago. A 3lb rise in the ratings looks more than fair for Kevin Frost's inmate and a third win from his last four outings looks a distinct possibility. The biggest threat may be posed by dual C&D winner Global Warning, who arrives on the back of a close-up third over track and trip. Harbour Vision is another to note.
RUSHEEN BOY arrives on the back of an excellent close third at Chelmsford 3 weeks ago and looks ready to strike. In-form veterans Global Warning, Harbour Vision and Amaysmont are others to consider.
This should be run at an honest pace and that will suit both AMAYSMONT and Global Warning, who both arrive in solid form.

3rd (5) (1/1 +50%) Pride Of Donegal |
1/1(+50%) | (5) Pride Of Donegal 1/1, 100,000 gns yearling, Saxon Warrior colt. Promising start when fourth of 12 in novice at Newcastle (1m) 2 weeks ago, staying on final 1f without being knocked about. Open to improvement with that under his belt and he's respected. 100/1(+0%) | (6) Return With Gold 100/1, Once-raced maiden. Ninth of 12 in novice at Newcastle (8f, 200/1) on debut 14 days ago, merely passing beaten rivals. Looks one for low-grade handicaps later on. 200-1 when ninth of 12 at Newcastle two weeks ago; work to do with Pride Of Donegal. |

7th (4) (11/1 +21%) Hibernate |
11/1(+21%) | (4) Hibernate 11/1, Kodiac colt who was unable to match debut form when ninth of 13 in maiden at Leopardstown (7.1f, soft) in October. Changed hands for 21,000 gns later that month and another appealing as the type who could do better in handicaps moving forward. Down the field in two runs for J O'Brien at top Irish tracks; sold 21,000gns last month. |

9th (7) (33/1 -32%) Ridgemaster |
33/1(-32%) | (7) Ridgemaster 33/1, Twice-raced maiden. 66/1, showed more than on debut when fifth of 9 in maiden at Nottingham (8.3f, heavy) 22 days ago. Will need to take another step forward if he's to play a lead role here. Well-beaten fifth in two turf runs last month; may find his level once handicapping. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Hailing from a family that has had plenty of success in recent years, including with first-time-out winners, WRITTEN FOR YOU could be primed to strike on debut for leading connections. The son of Lope De Vega may have too much for Pride Of Donegal, who rallied well for fourth on debut at Newcastle and is likely to improve plenty for the experience. A promising fifth over shorter here last time out, Hallelujah U should appreciate going back up in trip.
WRITTEN FOR YOU makes plenty of appeal on paper for the Gosden stable, so could be the way to go before market clues in what doesn't appeal as a strong novice. Pride of Donegal rates the pick of those with form and commands respect with progress on the cards. Hallelujah U is another capable of better for the red-hot James Owen yard.
The well-bred Written For You makes plenty of appeal on paper but HALLELUJAH U could yet have a much bigger effort in him.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Having hit the frame on both subsequent outings since her wins here in October, PORT NOIR looks ready to collect again. Robert Stephens' mare scored on her last appearance over C&D and she edges the vote over fellow in-form rival Ravenglass. The five-year-old is only 1lb higher than his latest second at Southwell and another bold showing looks assured. Angel Of Antrim may fare best of the remainder.
STELLA HOGAN starts out for shrewd connections on a potentially good mark so could be worth chancing. Ravenglass is a solid alternative, while Sorontar is worth another chance to build on his Windsor run.
A few with chances but on another day ANGEL OF ANTRIM would have been a lot closer last time at Newcastle.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
CHAMPAGNE PRINCE maintained his unbeaten all-weather record with a comfortable success over C&D last month, and a 5lb rise may not be enough to prevent him from going in again. Not in action since finishing fourth in the Gordon Richards at Sandown in April, Artistic Star has not run outside Group company since May last year and, if ready to roll, he could be thrown in off a mark of 106. Andaleep and Max Mayhem have the form to get involved too.
CHAMPAGNE PRINCE improved for the return to all-weather when scoring over C&D 7 weeks ago and could be up to defying a 5 lb rise given he remains totally unexposed on an artificial surface. Dark Moon Rising is expected to bounce straight back to form after a poor showing in the November Handicap, while the likeable Andaleep and Paradias are others to consider.
Max Mayhem and Artistic Star are high on the list but CHAMPAGNE PRINCE (nap) won well here last month and can defy a 5lb rise.

1st (1) (9/4 +44%) Haku |
9/4(+44%) | (1) Haku 9/4, Back to winning ways over C&D last month and ran as least as well in defeat when close second of 8 in handicap at Southwell (11.1f, 14/1) 8 days ago. Can race off same mark here and is one for shortlist. Record of 11121 over C&D; went very close at Southwell last week; 2lb higher in future. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (10) (14/1 -115%) Something |
14/1(-115%) | (10) Something 14/1, Disappointed at Southwell latest but had found improvement when landing back-to-back handicaps at Newcastle (both 12.5f) previously and must enter calculations. Couple of clearcut wins over 12.5f at Newcastle last month; below par over 1m6f since. |

3rd (7) (9/4 +59%) Kitty Furnival |
9/4(+59%) | (7) Kitty Furnival 9/4, Off the mark at Kempton (11f) last month and found further improvement when following up in 8-runner handicap (7/4) over C&D 17 days ago by neck from Way of Life. 3 lb rise fair and another bold bid is anticipated. Low-mileage 3yo who bids for an AW hat-trick; beat Way Of Life over C&D last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (17/2 -13%) Lordsbridge Blu |
17/2(-13%) | (3) Lordsbridge Blu 17/2, Lightly-raced winner. Course winner. Winner here in September. 11/2, good 2 lengths fourth of 8 to Kitty Furnival in handicap at this C&D 17 days ago. Not out of things. Ran creditably over C&D last time, taking form figures to 43124; frame possibilities. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (12/1 -9%) Way Of Life |
12/1(-9%) | (6) Way Of Life 12/1, Not the easiest to win with but made the frame again when creditable neck second of 8 to Kitty Furnival in handicap over C&D (10/1) 17 days ago. Just 1 lb higher now and ought to be in the mix again. Ties in closely with Haku and Kitty Furnival on last two efforts (both over C&D). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (11) (25/1 -56%) Selwan |
25/1(-56%) | (11) Selwan 25/1, Fifth of 8 in handicap at Kempton (12f, 10/1) 22 days ago, left poorly placed. Work to do on tapeta debut. 0-12 in Britain but has bits of encouraging form; could go well off reduced mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (33/1 -175%) Mighty Nebula |
33/1(-175%) | (2) Mighty Nebula 33/1, First run since leaving Roger Varian when last of 9 in handicap (80/1) at Newmarket (8f, heavy) 19 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Bit to prove at present. Seems a doubtful stayer over this distance on second outing for new stable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (66/1 -230%) Cephalus |
66/1(-230%) | (5) Cephalus 66/1, Seventh of 9 in handicap at Chelmsford City (8f, 20/1) 14 days ago, slowly away. Significantly up in trip. Can give a good account without posing serious threat to principals. Very productive spell featured five wins over 1m; this trip is unknown territory. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (7/1 +56%) Brodie's Boy |
7/1(+56%) | (9) Brodie's Boy 7/1, First run since leaving Barry Brennan when creditable sixth of 11 in handicap at Nottingham (10.2f, heavy, 25/1) 15 days ago. Others more appealing, though. Sole attempt over 1m4f resulted in Kempton maiden win; second run for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (4) (18/1 -80%) Ludo's Landing |
18/1(-80%) | (4) Ludo's Landing 18/1, 3 wins from 18 runs this year. Latest win at Kempton in September. Thirteenth of 14 in handicap at Kempton (11f, 14/1) 17 days ago. Needs a couple of these to falter. Well held in series final at Kempton last time; largely consistent otherwise in 2024. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (8) (6/1 +25%) Fighter Command |
6/1(+25%) | (8) Fighter Command 6/1, Tongue strap on for 1st time, last of 14 in handicap (9/2) at Kempton (11f) 36 days ago. Makes tapeta debut. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Others more appealing. Couple of underwhelming efforts since being gelded; first-time headgear needs to help. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
The hat-trick seeking KITTY FURNIVAL supplemented her breakthrough success at Kempton when landing the spoils on her handicap bow over C&D earlier this month. A 3lb higher mark is unlikely the ceiling of the three-year-old's ability and she rates as the one to beat. Recent 1m3f Southwell runner-up Haku should appreciate a return to this 1m4f trip. Mark Loughnane's gelding looks the biggest danger, ahead of Way Of Life.
HAKU goes particularly well here and arrives in fine heart. He makes fair appeal in what looks a competitive contest. Kitty Furnival and Way of Life head the list of dangers.
With further improvement plausible, KITTY FURNIVAL (nap) is taken to complete a hat-trick. In-form Haku is feared most.

1st (3) (11/8 +31%) Dashing Harry |
11/8(+31%) | (3) Dashing Harry 11/8, Latest win at Kempton in October. Good second of 9 in handicap (2/1) at this C&D 3 days ago, headed post. Obvious claims. Headed in the final stride over C&D on Monday; major player off the same mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (9/2 +25%) Paddy's Day |
9/2(+25%) | (1) Paddy's Day 9/2, Twelve runs since last win in 2023. Creditable third of 9 in handicap (13/2) at this C&D 9 days ago. Holding his form well and likely he'll be thereabouts again with his rider taking off handy 5 lb. Banging at the door on AW of late; hard to win with but looks sure to go well once again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (13/2 +41%) Angle Land |
13/2(+41%) | (4) Angle Land 13/2, C&D winner who found run of good form coming to a halt when last of 6 in handicap at Yarmouth (5.2f, soft, 16/1) 30 days ago. Type to bounce back and booking of Rossa Ryan an obvious plus. Runner-up twice in September; below par on soft ground latest; others look better treated. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (16/1 +20%) Popular Dream |
16/1(+20%) | (9) Popular Dream 16/1, Lightly-raced maiden who shaped as if needing the run after 4 months off when fifth of 9 in handicap at this C&D (66/1) 9 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Entitled to be sharper now but others look stronger on balance. 0-8 but has shown promise, including here last week; this could be run to suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (4/1 -100%) Strong Johnson |
4/1(-100%) | (2) Strong Johnson 4/1, Ended losing run from the front at Newcastle (5f) earlier this month. Latest Wolverhampton effort 6 days ago best overlooked (rein broke early) and he remains of interest from this sort of mark. Tack issues when well backed last week; impressed at Newcastle beforehand; contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (40/1 -186%) Jeans Maite |
40/1(-186%) | (6) Jeans Maite 40/1, 5-time C&D winner. Eighth of 9 in handicap at this C&D in March, weakening when headed over 2f out. Has gone well fresh in the past so she's not dismissed lightly after 7 months off. Multiple C&D winner; can go well fresh; not discounted back from eight months off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (20/1 -67%) Dark Side Prince |
20/1(-67%) | (7) Dark Side Prince 20/1, 3-time C&D winner who completed a quick-fire hat-trick at Chelmsford (5f) in May. Fourth of 7 in handicap back at that venue 5 weeks ago. On a workable mark on the pick of his form. Three 5f wins at Chelmsford this year; recent efforts not his best; others look stronger. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (66/1 -136%) Stone Of Destiny |
66/1(-136%) | (10) Stone Of Destiny 66/1, C&D winner last winter but operating below best in handful of starts since returning from an absence this autumn and his win record leaves a lot to be desired. Passed over. Veteran who has struggled since returning to action in October. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (22/1 0%) Crow's Nest |
22/1(0%) | (5) Crow's Nest 22/1, 100/1, first run following a second wind op when last of 11 in handicap at Kempton (6f) 22 days ago, folding tamely. Makes tapeta debut. First-time blinkers need to have a positive effect. Struggled since handicapping; change of headgear/drop in trip not enough to tempt. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) (33/1 -65%) Lettuce Leaf |
33/1(-65%) | (8) Lettuce Leaf 33/1, Lightly-raced maiden who ran best race when second of 9 in handicap at Pontefract (5f, soft) in July. Easy to forgive her return at Nottingham (5f) 15 days ago with rider having lost irons halfway. Certainly not one to be writing off back on all weather. Two promising runs on slow turf this summer; had an excuse latest; not fully exposed. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Turned out again quickly after a narrow reversal over C&D on Monday, DASHING HARRY can gain compensation off the same mark on what is just his third start for new connections. Paddy's Day has been knocking on the door of late and is likely to be thereabouts again, while Strong Johnson is big player if bouncing back to the form of his success at Newcastle two starts ago.
DASHING HARRY returned to his best when going down narrowly over C&D 3 days ago and a repeat should see James Horton's charge firmly in the mix once more. Strong Johnson and Paddy's Day may well emerge as the lead dangers.
This should be fast and furious and DASHING HARRY is fancied to atone for Monday's narrow defeat. Strong Johnson is feared most.

1st (3) (5/1 +29%) Rogue De Vega |
5/1(+29%) | (3) Rogue De Vega 5/1, One win from 21 Flat runs. Nineteen runs since last win in 2023. Bit below form sixth of 11 in handicap (11/1) at Newcastle (5f) 20 days ago, never nearer. Needs a couple of these to falter. Hard to win with but in fair form and feasibly weighted; 6f perhaps better around a turn. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (16/1 -129%) Under Curfew |
16/1(-129%) | (8) Under Curfew 16/1, 10/1, bit below form sixth of 12 in handicap at Southwell (5f) 14 days ago. Visor back on. Not taken lightly. Handy mark on 2024 best but he needs to raise his game judged on last two starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (18/1 -300%) Basholo |
18/1(-300%) | (2) Basholo 18/1, Three-time C&D winner who made an encouraging return from 5 months off when third of 8 in handicap at this course (5.1f) 45 days ago. 1 lb lower now and expected to be bang there. Three C&D wins in the first half of the year; promising return last month; one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (5/4 +83%) So Grateful |
5/4(+83%) | (4) So Grateful 5/4, Seventeen runs since last win in 2023. Seventh of 10 in handicap at Catterick (6f, heavy, 18/1) 23 days ago. Others more convincing. Better on AW than turf and returns to Tapeta off an attractive mark; lots to like. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (4/1 +43%) Street Life |
4/1(+43%) | (7) Street Life 4/1, Returned to winning ways here (5.1f) last month and posted creditable efforts since, latest when fourth of 10 in handicap over C&D 6 days ago. Likely contender. Comes here in good form and he's a key player dropping down from a competitive Class 5. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (25/1 -56%) Red Walls |
25/1(-56%) | (10) Red Walls 25/1, 3-time C&D winner. 3 wins from 19 runs this year. Last of 11 in handicap at Southwell (6.1f, 25/1). Off 95 days. Others look better treated. Quiet when last seen but back to his last winning mark; perhaps better over 6f these days. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (8/1 +50%) Doctor Vuby |
8/1(+50%) | (6) Doctor Vuby 8/1, Still looking for first success and is operating well below his best of late. Big chance on last winter's form but he's gone cold since June; stable run two. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (40/1 -186%) Desert Master |
40/1(-186%) | (5) Desert Master 40/1, Last of 10 in handicap at Wetherby (5.5f, good to firm, 33/1), unable to sustain effort. Off 171 days. Likely best watched. On a dangerous mark but returning from 171 days off; stable run two here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (9/1 +0%) Wakai Umi |
9/1(+0%) | (1) Wakai Umi 9/1, C&D winner. 9/1, eighth of 12 in handicap at Southwell (5f) 14 days ago, doing too much too soon. Can give a good account without posing serious threat to principals. 0-12 since a C&D win as a 2yo; dangerous mark now though and good apprentice booked. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
A tad unlucky when suffering interference inside the final furlong over C&D last time out, that was BASHOLO's first start since May and she is entitled to come on plenty for it. The five-year-old has already scored three times over C&D this year and she is preferred to another course winner Street Life, who has strong claims on his penultimate second at Chelmsford. So Grateful and Under Curfew are likely to be thereabouts as well.
Preference is for BASHOLO, who posted a solid return from a break here last month and remains feasibly treated. Street Life and Darkened Edge can also make their presence felt.
Street Life can go well but SO GRATEFUL looks to have plenty to recommend him back on the AW.

1st (4) (3/1 +14%) Raagi |
3/1(+14%) | (4) Raagi 3/1, Wootton Bassett colt. 14/1, fourth of 10 in maiden at this C&D on debut. Yard's newcomers often improve for the run, but 8 month absence perhaps tempers enthusiasm. Raced freely when 4th over C&D in March; gelded since; Rossa Ryan booked; more to offer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (11/8 +31%) Wind River |
11/8(+31%) | (6) Wind River 11/8, Lightly-raced maiden. 10/1, very good second of 8 in handicap at Newcastle (8f) 20 days ago. Sets the standard on that effort returned to novice company. Consistency an issue but a repeat of latest Tapeta 2nd would give him claims back in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (50/1 -25%) Empress Of Hope |
50/1(-25%) | (7) Empress Of Hope 50/1, Twice-raced maiden. 40/1, fifth of 7 in maiden at Kempton (7f) 36 days ago. Seemingly being brought along gradually. Modest form in two fillies' maidens; improvement may come when handicapping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (10/3 -11%) Swift Storm |
10/3(-11%) | (5) Swift Storm 10/3, Thrice-raced maiden. 13/8 and tongue strap on for 1st time, rejoined former yard from Dominic Ffrench Davis when third of 7 in novice at Leicester (7f, heavy) 37 days ago. Amongst the standard setters on the pick of his form and he may well come on for his recent run. Third in all three of his starts; not at best on heavy latest; return to AW should suit. |

100/1(-400%) | (2) Stoneacre 100/1, Third of 4 in novice (22/1) at Newcastle (8f) on debut 13 days ago. That was a muddling contest but he did show some ability and could hit the frame. Not beaten far at Newcastle on debut (1m) but the pace was slow until halfway; more needed. |

|F| (9) (12/1 +0%) Sapience |
12/1(+0%) | (9) Sapience 12/1, Study of Man filly. Half-sister to 1m-10.7f winner Manbehindthemoney. Likeable pedigree and represents a yard who can ready a debut winner, so certainly worth a second look. Half-sister to a 1m-10.6f winner; dam a 1m3f AW winner; starts out at a realistic level. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
In an open event a chance can be taken on RAAGI, who has been off since his debut over C&D in March but Marco Botti's gelding showed plenty of promise on that occasion. Wind River could prove to be the main threat following his handicap second at Newcastle last time. Any market support for either of Khaleejy or Sapience would have to be noted.
WIND RIVER produced an improved effort dropped back in trip when runner-up in a Newcastle handicap at the start of the month and sets a good standard racing over shorter still. Swift Storm showed plenty to like on his first 2 outings and is likely to come on for his recent comeback run, whilst there's plenty to like about James Tate's newcomer Khaleejy on paper.
The inconsistent Wind River is respected but RAAGI is open to improvement and can progress past more exposed rivals.

11/1(-38%) | (1) National Health 11/1, 12/1, seventh of 10 in handicap at this course (8.6f). Off 9 months. Still lightly raced and is worth a second look in the market on return to action. Returns from another 285 days off and probably best watched. |

11th (8) (200/1 -203%) Glen Esk |
200/1(-203%) | (8) Glen Esk 200/1, Barely beaten a rival home since coming back from a long absence this year. Has beaten a total of one rival in four starts on the AW since returning in September. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
BOYD CROWDER may not have shown much in three career starts so far, but he is bred to improve for going up in trip and remains unexposed. A mark of 55 on handicap debut could prove lenient and he gets the vote ahead of Zousca, who performed creditably when third over 1m at Southwell last time out. A winner here last November, Boujee Gold has yet to rediscover that form but must be of interest.
ZOUSCA has upped her game in recent starts and remains relatively low mileage. She can land the spoils. Boyd Crowder and Enzos Angel are also of interest.
It may be worth chancing CRYPTOS DREAM who has dropped to an appealing mark, including on the form she was showing here last winter.

22/1(-10%) | (1) Dereham 22/1, 18/1, fourth of 7 in handicap at Chelmsford (2m) 26 days ago, seemingly found wanting for finishing speed. Winless this season but he comes here in decent nick; ought to be thereabouts eased 1lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (33/1 +0%) Shy Nala |
33/1(+0%) | (8) Shy Nala 33/1, Offered little all 6 starts to date, including when finishing remote third of 7 in handicap at Yarmouth (10.1f, soft) 37 days ago, merely passing beaten rivals. Significant step up in trip/switch to tapeta needs to bring about significant improvement. Not disgraced when third at Yarmouth last month; more needed on her Tapeta debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (80/1 -300%) Blonde Arrow |
80/1(-300%) | (7) Blonde Arrow 80/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 150/1, last of 6 in novice at Ascot (12f, soft) 48 days ago. Dam was successful up to 17.5f so this significantly longer trip ought to suit now handicapping. Hood also reached for and betting can guide. Has offered little on all her three runs; hooded for handicap debut with plenty to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (28/1 -100%) Uther Pendragon |
28/1(-100%) | (6) Uther Pendragon 28/1, Course winner. 12/1, respectable fifth of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (14f) 17 days ago. Effective at this longer trip but losing run does temper enthusiasm. Not discredited at Wolverhampton 17 days ago; this course winner enters calculations. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
SIR JOSEPH SWAN bolted up over C&D last week and the six-year-old is very hard to oppose on the back of that performance, despite being 6lb higher. Payment Plan beat the selection a couple of weeks ago and has to be of interest once again, while Albert Lasker edges out Uther Pendragon and Dereham to be the pick of the remainder.
PAYMENT PLAN has re-opposing and subsequent winner Sir Joseph Swan just behind him when opening his account over C&D 17 days ago and, remaining with greater potential than most here, John Butler's charge could well be the answer once more. Aforementioned Sir Joseph Swan heads the dangers, ahead of Albert Lasker.
John Butler's progressive PAYMENT PLAN remains unexposed at this trip and he can make light of a 2lb rise for his recent C&D success.

12/1(-50%) | (9) Casa Luna 12/1, One win from 33 Flat runs (came over C&D in April). 22/1, fared little better when fifth of 9 in handicap at Southwell (14.1f) 24 days ago. Sole win in 33 starts came over C&D, but not compelling on recent efforts. |

2nd (6) (11/1 +8%) Bond Spirit |
11/1(+8%) | (6) Bond Spirit 11/1, Took a step back in the right direction when sixth of 12 in handicap (14/1) at Southwell (12.1f) 19 days ago, unable to sustain effort. On a handy mark if able to build on that back up in trip. 2lb below last winning mark, but shorter trips seem to suit him better; first visit here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (85/40 -6%) Alex The Great |
85/40(-6%) | (3) Alex The Great 85/40, 9/2, stepped forward from his stable debut 8 days earlier to finally get off the mark in 8-runner handicap at Southwell (14.1f) 9 days ago by 2¼ lengths from Shaad, leading over 2f out. Escapes a penalty for that so there's every chance he can follow up. 4lb well in after winning a Southwell apprentice event last time; hard to beat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (16/5 +80%) Mamdoh |
16/5(+80%) | (4) Mamdoh 16/5, Last of 10 in handicap (14/1) at Chepstow (10f, good to firm) when last seen 4 months ago, later said to have made a respiratory noise. Significantly up in trip. Makes tapeta debut. First run for yard after leaving Owen Burrows (1,000 gns). 0-5; up 4f in trip on debut for new yard after four months off; lots to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (28/1 -40%) Two Plus Two |
28/1(-40%) | (7) Two Plus Two 28/1, Confirmed the improvement shown at Lingfield stepping up to this trip when third of 11 in handicap (40/1) at Chelmsford City (14f). However, he's not been seen for 12 months so the percentage call is to look elsewhere. 0-13; has ability but also looks a tricky ride; off for over a year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (6/1 -20%) The Resdev Way |
6/1(-20%) | (5) The Resdev Way 6/1, 6/1, ended long losing run when won 10-runner handicap at this C&D 17 days ago, leading inside final 1f. Can give another good account nudged up 3 lb. Ended a lengthy losing run over C&D 17 days ago; could go well again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (6/1 +0%) Virtual Hug |
6/1(+0%) | (2) Virtual Hug 6/1, C&D winner. 7/1, back to form after 9 weeks off when 1½ lengths fourth of 10 to The Resdev Way in handicap at this C&D 17 days ago. Each-way claims from the same mark. Three-time course winner; not far behind The Resdev Way here last time; frame material. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (15/2 -67%) Breccia |
15/2(-67%) | (1) Breccia 15/2, Course winner. Creditable second of 10 in handicap at this course (16.6f, 7/2) a couple of months ago, taking time to get going. Cheekpieces back on. Fancied to be in the shake-up. Sole win in 19 starts came over further here, but this may not be a sufficient test now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (200/1 -203%) Ballet Blanc |
200/1(-203%) | (10) Ballet Blanc 200/1, Remains a maiden after 19 Flat runs. 150/1 and tongue strap on for 1st time, never involved when last of 7 in handicap at Chepstow (8.1f, good to firm) 80 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Some time since she has shown any worthwhile form and now 0-21; look elsewhere. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (11) (50/1 -150%) Highland Lil |
50/1(-150%) | (11) Highland Lil 50/1, 33/1, ninth of 11 in handicap at Newcastle (10.2f) 2 weeks ago. Tongue strap on 1st time, cheekpieces back on. Has a bit to prove all of a sudden. 0-12 and needs the addition of a tongue-tie to make a big difference. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
ALEX THE GREAT showed major improvement when scoring comfortably at Southwell last week and a 3lb rise for that success may not be enough to prevent him from going in again. The Resdev Way arrives with similar claims after a taking success over C&D earlier in the month, while Virtual Hug (fourth), who has just under two lengths to make up with him, is noted too.
ALEX THE GREAT finally got off the mark on just his second start for Tony Carroll last week and, escaping a penalty for that success, he's fancied to follow up at the expense of Breccia, who took a while to get going when runner-up at this track a couple of months ago and the reapplied headgear should help on that front. The Resdev Way and Virtual Hug met over C&D earlier in the month and they can fight out third.
It's hard to get away from ALEX THE GREAT who is 4lb well in following his success in a Southwell apprentice event nine days ago.

Down to a mark her new yard should be able to exploit. Placed on debut for this yard three days ago but that was a Class 6. |

4th (9) (22/1 -57%) Emily Post |
22/1(-57%) | (9) Emily Post 22/1, Ran respectably when fifth of 12 in handicap at Thirsk (7f) on penultimate start in September. Easy to overlook latest run (anticipated start and unseated rider) and she's not dismissed back on AW. Needs to leave this summer's form behind her now returning to AW. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (10/3 +26%) Grenham Bay |
10/3(+26%) | (8) Grenham Bay 10/3, 7/1, respectable sixth of 11 in handicap at Kempton (6f) 22 days ago, needing stronger gallop. Lurking on a good mark if getting the race run to suit. Consistent this year; had excuses last time at Kempton having found some trouble. |

6th (1) (33/1 -83%) Surprise Picture |

7th (5) (11/1 -69%) Call Time |
11/1(-69%) | (5) Call Time 11/1, Career best when winning 5-runner novice at Bath (5f, soft, 4/5) 21 days ago. Makes tapeta debut. Not ruled out back in a handicap. Back from a break to justify odds-on favouritism in a Bath novice; unraced on Tapeta. |

8th (11) (7/2 -17%) Call Glory |
7/2(-17%) | (11) Call Glory 7/2, Fifteen runs since last win in 2023. 7/2, creditable second of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 5 days ago. Good chance if building on that. Having just his third run for this yard when second at Wolverhampton last week (6f). |

28/1(+0%) | (10) Hail Sezer 28/1, C&D winner. Latest win at Catterick in May. 33/1, tenth of 13 in handicap at Redcar (6f, soft) 34 days ago. Won at Catterick in May but below that level in his four subsequent runs. |

40/1(-43%) | (3) Reveiller 40/1, Eleventh of 12 in handicap at Newcastle (6f, 40/1) 49 days ago. Some promise two runs back but well beaten at Newcastle since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (4) (28/1 -155%) Shalaa Asker |
28/1(-155%) | (4) Shalaa Asker 28/1, C&D winner. Fourteen runs since last win in 2023. 4/1, creditable fifth of 11 in handicap at this course (7.1f) 53 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Adrian Keatley. On a tempting mark. Likes Chelmsford but he wasn't far away over 7f here last time and 6f seems his best trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Call Time has to be noted after his success at Bath three weeks ago, but the vote goes to CALL GLORY, who bounced back to form when second over 6f at Wolverhampton on Saturday. Ian Williams' gelding has to be of interest on the back of that performance. Ormolulu made the frame over C&D earlier in the week and could go well once again.
CALL GLORY has tumbled to an attractive mark and ran his best race since joining Ian Williams when second at Wolverhampton under Billy Loughnane on Saturday. He's got strong claims if in the same sort of form here. Ormolulu, Grenham Bay and Shalaa Asker are others to consider.
Well-handicapped CALL GLORY gets the nod after running his best race for Ian Williams at Wolverhampton five days ago.
Ths is the racecard key.
