1st (6) (1/14 +80%) Tripoli Flyer |
1/14(+80%) | (6) Tripoli Flyer 1/14, Getaway gelding who improved with each start in bumpers last season, off the mark at second attempt at Lingfield before excellent second in Aintree Grade 2. Beaten only by another decent prospect on hurdling bow/return at Chepstow and hard to oppose here. Useful in bumpers; clear second at Chepstow on the switch to hurdles; the clear form pick. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (25/1 +24%) Bennettshill |
25/1(+24%) | (2) Bennettshill 25/1, Irish point winner in 2023 but little to shout about in 2 hurdle runs recently. Irish point winner; only a modest second on latest hurdles start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (100/1 -52%) Elusive Shine |
100/1(-52%) | (4) Elusive Shine 100/1, Made frame all 3 starts in Irish points but beaten a long way both starts over hurdles. Poor claims on rules form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (6/1 -33%) Catchim |
6/1(-33%) | (1) Catchim 6/1, €72,000 3-y-o, £3,000 6-y-o, Doyen gelding. Made frame all 5 completed starts in points and was good enough to make a winning start under Rules in 14-runner novice hurdle (10/1) at Southwell (20.4f, good) in June. Giving 7 lb to Tripoli Flyer is a tough ask, however. Absent since Southwell success (rules debut) in June; one of the main form contenders. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (150/1 -200%) Milan Milos |
150/1(-200%) | (5) Milan Milos 150/1, Made frame first of 3 starts in bumpers for Tom Weston but was tailed off in maiden at Fakenham on hurdling debut/return last week. Achieved little switched to hurdles last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (125/1 -25%) Elite Etoile |
125/1(-25%) | (3) Elite Etoile 125/1, Well held in bumper/maiden hurdle for John Joseph Hanlon. Soundly beaten in two runs for Shark Hanlon. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Catchim put in a fine round of jumping when scoring on his debut under Rules at Southwell in June and could take a big step forward from that effort. Even so, he might find it tough to give his 7lb penalty away to TRIPOLI FLYER. Fergal O'Brien's five-year-old took the silver medal in a Grade 2 bumper at Aintree prior to running with plenty of promise when finishing second on his hurdles bow at Chepstow earlier in the month. With normal improvement, he can prove hard to beat. Point-to-point winner Queens Wish completes the shortlist.
TRIPOLI FLYER was most progressive in bumpers (shaped best when runner-up in Grade 2 at Aintree) and made a highly encouraging hurdling debut after 7 months off when beaten only by another decent prospect who had both a fitness and experience edge at Chepstow 3 weeks ago. Fergal O'Brien's charge can land the odds en route to better things. Penalised winner Catchim and expensive point-recruit Queens Wish can battle for minor honours.
Useful TRIPOLI FLYER is the clear form pick. Queens Wish and Catchim look best of the remainder.

1st (4) (9/4 +10%) Just Lucky Sivola |
9/4(+10%) | (4) Just Lucky Sivola 9/4, Promising individual who came in second of 5 in novice hurdle at Plumpton (20.5f, good to soft, 10/3) on hurdles bow 23 days ago. Should progress. Well in the mix. Pushed short-odds favourite all the way to the line when second at Plumpton this month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (5/2 +50%) Tom Doniphon |
5/2(+50%) | (6) Tom Doniphon 5/2, Useful winner at 18f in bumpers. 4/1, encouraging third of 11 in novice hurdle at Exeter (18.5f, good to soft) on hurdles bow 36 days ago. Should improve. Bumper winner; shaped well before fading into third on last month's hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (11/4 -38%) Ebony Warrior |
11/4(-38%) | (1) Ebony Warrior 11/4, Fairly useful winner at Worcester in July and in very good form since, second of 13 in novice hurdle at Wetherby (19.7f, good to soft) 42 days ago, going with enthusiasm. Leading form claims. Three good seconds since his ready win at Worcester in July; holds strong claims here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (10) (200/1 -150%) Tom Taggle |
200/1(-150%) | (10) Tom Taggle 200/1, Thrice-raced maiden under NH rules. 125/1, sixth of 10 in novice hurdle at Ffos Las (15.8f, good to soft) 17 days ago. Back up in trip with more required. Showed promise on bumper debut but has not been competitive over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (250/1 -150%) Jaunty Galaxy |
250/1(-150%) | (3) Jaunty Galaxy 250/1, Twice-raced maiden under NH rules. 200/1, eighth of 10 in novice hurdle at Ffos Las (21.9f, soft) on hurdles bow 45 days ago. Struggled to get competitive when 200-1 for last month's hurdling debut at Ffos Las (2m6f). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (40/1 -150%) Tikiti Dino |
40/1(-150%) | (9) Tikiti Dino 40/1, Twice-raced maiden under NH rules, better effort when third of 6 in novice hurdle (7/2) at this C&D (good) on hurdles bow 23 days ago. Can take another step forward. Made just a mildly encouraging hurdle debut when remote third over C&D this month.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (200/1 -100%) Falstaff |
200/1(-100%) | (7) Falstaff 200/1, Twice-raced maiden under NH rules. Seventh of 14 in novice hurdle (150/1) at Fontwell (17.7f, good to soft) on hurdles bow 19 days ago, not knocked about. May still do better. Tailed off at Fontwell (2m1f) on recent hurdling debut; moves up in trip here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (11) (80/1 -142%) Damzon |
80/1(-142%) | (11) Damzon 80/1, Fair form in bumpers, fifth of 7 at Uttoxeter (15.8f, soft) 165 days ago. Makes hurdles debut up in trip. Blinkered for 1st time too. Second in one of her three bumpers but needs improvement on this hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (400/1 -300%) Hugo Alko |
400/1(-300%) | (2) Hugo Alko 400/1, Pulled up in novice hurdle at Newton Abbot (21.6f, heavy, 125/1) on NH debut. Off 14 months. Maiden pointer who struggled when a big-priced outsider for last year's rules debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
JUST LUCKY SIVOLA finished a close second to a progressive type on his hurdles debut over the extended 2m4f at Plumpton 23 days ago and Paul Nicholls' gelding is sure to have learnt plenty from that experience. The consistent Ebony Warrior commands respect despite picking up a penalty for winning a maiden hurdle at Worcester four starts back. Presenting Star boasts a solid jumps pedigree and warrants a betting check on his racecourse debut.
EBONY WARRIOR possesses the best form on offer so is fancied to gain a deserved success after a run of three very good runner-up placings. Both Just Lucky Sivola and Tom Doniphon are in good hands and capable of better so can chase home the selection in that order.
The pick is EBONY WARRIOR, who has posted three good efforts in defeat since his Worcester win in July.

2nd (4) (50/1 +24%) Mix De Gris |
50/1(+24%) | (4) Mix De Gris 50/1, Modest on the Flat and pulled up on hurdling debut at Newcastle, so hard to make any sort of case for. Didn't show much on the Flat and pulled up at 40-1 on hurdle debut at Newcastle. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (8/1 -100%) Rukaana |
8/1(-100%) | (5) Rukaana 8/1, Fairly useful handicapper on Flat (should be suited by 1¼m), successful once in 2024, no threat last time. Sold from Charlie Hills 46,000 gns and one to be interested in first time over hurdles. Two-time Flat winner (peak RPR 79) who could have a part to play on hurdle/stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (80/1 -60%) Jailbird |
80/1(-60%) | (7) Jailbird 80/1, Modest handicapper on Flat (stays 1½m), cashing in on a reduced mark at Lingfield in July. Sold from Richard Bandey £11,000 prior to an uninspiring start to life over hurdles at Sedgefield. Others preferred. Badly hampered when pulled up on hurdle debut; Flat form was modest; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (13/8 -18%) Global Eclipse |
13/8(-18%) | (1) Global Eclipse 13/8, Brother to fairly useful French 2¼m hurdle winner Quiniland. Dam (h115) 17f-19f hurdle winner. Solid showing when runner-up on hurdling debut over C&D and should have learned from that. Definite player. Second of the two finishers in very eventful C&D contest; leading claims for top yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (10/1 +60%) Mandarb |
10/1(+60%) | (2) Mandarb 10/1, Dam half-sister to useful but temperamental hurdler (2m winner) Song Light. Fairly useful on Flat (stays 12.5f), won French claimer (for S. Wattel) penultimate start but always behind on stable debut last time. Hurdle debut; some useful Flat form in France but well beaten at 50-1 on stable debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
A beaten favourite on debut over C&D last month, GLOBAL ECLIPSE was badly hampered by a loose horse in what turned out to be an eventful contest and, with that experience under his belt, he can go one better on this occasion. The Jamie Snowden stable can do little wrong at present and Marche D'aligre should be monitored for market support on his hurdling bow, having been purchased from France. A relatively decent sort on the level for Charlie Hills, Rukaana must also enter calculations on his first run for new connections.
MARCHE D'ALIGRE was picked up for a reasonable sum having shown plenty on the Flat in France and he should be well prepared for this, so he's preferred to Global Eclipse, who has the benefit of hurdling experience. Rukaana is another one to note.
Preference is for French Flat winner MARCHE D'ALIGRE, who makes his hurdle debut with new trainer Jamie Snowden in fine form.

1st (1) (5/1 -82%) Chief Sunday |
5/1(-82%) | (1) Chief Sunday 5/1, Down the field in 2 Warwick bumpers in the spring. Offered more when fourth of 6 in 2m Perth novice hurdle in September but failed to improve for the longer trip at Aintree (20f) the following month. Makes handicap bow back in trip. Unexposed 4yo and he looks a possible improver back in trip on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (1/1 +47%) Brave Jen |
1/1(+47%) | (3) Brave Jen 1/1, Didn't need to improve to get off the mark in 12-runner maiden at Sedgefield (16.8f, good, 4/1) 22 days ago, benefiting from the emphasis being less on stamina. Respected back in handicap company. Made her breakthrough with brave win at Sedgefield and she's respected back in a handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (11/8 +69%) Traveling Soldier |
11/8(+69%) | (5) Traveling Soldier 11/8, Runner-up sole outing in Irish points and showed a fair bit more than in a heavy-ground bumper when second in 7-runner maiden at Perth in May. Well held both starts since but not knocked about and will hold more chance now handicapping. Tailed off in last two runs and needs to get back on track on handicap debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
CHIEF SUNDAY produced a better effort over 2m at Perth prior to 2m4f possibly stretching his stamina when well beaten at Aintree last time. Nigel Twiston-Davies' four-year-old now makes his handicap debut on only his third start over hurdles and could appreciate the drop back in trip to defy an opening mark of 104. Brave Jen got off the mark at Sedgefield earlier in the month and she has to be considered on her return to the handicap ranks, while Traveling Soldier is another to consider.
BRAVE JEN finally opened her account at Sedgefield earlier in the month and can follow up back in handicap company. Chief Sunday and Traveling Soldier could both do better now handicapping and merit respect.
Recent Sedgefield winner Brave Jen is respected but preference is for the unexposed handicap newcomer CHIEF SUNDAY.

1st (1) (6/5 +36%) Paddy In The Caddy |
6/5(+36%) | (1) Paddy In The Caddy 6/5, Advanced his form under a change of tactics when landing 8-runner handicap chase at Warwick (16.2f, soft) 7 days ago, making all. The one to beat under a 7 lb penalty. Made all for clearcut success at Warwick a week ago; obvious contender under 7lb penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (16/1 -78%) Flamelco |
16/1(-78%) | (3) Flamelco 16/1, It's now 13 runs since his last win in 2022 but he shaped well for his new yard after 4 months off (formerly with Gary & Josh Moore) when a fading sixth of 8 in handicap chase at Fontwell (19.5f, good) 64 days ago. In the mix with hood/tongue strap back on. Put in good front-running shift over 2m3f on stable debut; drops back in trip here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (6/1 +14%) Smart Casual |
6/1(+14%) | (6) Smart Casual 6/1, Yet to register a victory but he recorded a respectable third of 13 in handicap hurdle at Ffos Las (15.8f, good to soft) in May. Resumes for his first go over fences and can't be discounted. Placed twice off today's mark over hurdles in spring; makes chasing debut today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (13/2 +19%) Iron D'ex |
13/2(+19%) | (2) Iron D'ex 13/2, Scored on his chasing bow at Ludlow but only seventh of 10 in handicap chase at Bangor (20.3f, heavy) next time. Cheekpieces back on. Scored on last month's seasonal/chase debut but quickly back in the doldrums since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (12/1 -100%) Dunstall Rambler |
12/1(-100%) | (4) Dunstall Rambler 12/1, Remains winless but he posted a creditable third of 7 in handicap chase at Ludlow (16f, good to soft) 20 days ago. Needs considering. Jumping has been an issue since he switched to chasing but the raw ability is there. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (18/1 +10%) The Big Man |
18/1(+10%) | (8) The Big Man 18/1, Failed to build on his chasing debut promise when tenth of 12 in handicap chase over C&D 23 days ago. Still low mileage so may still do better. Not yet fully exposed but was beaten just over 30l in his first two chases. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (5) (16/1 -14%) Coup De Gold |
16/1(-14%) | (5) Coup De Gold 16/1, Arrives in good nick over hurdles, third of 6 in 2m handicap here 15 days ago. Much respected on his chase debut. Twice in the frame over hurdles this autumn but has left it late in the day to try chasing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (15/2 -15%) Wellwillya |
15/2(-15%) | (7) Wellwillya 15/2, Took form up a notch when getting off the mark on fencing bow in 12-runner handicap chase at Exeter (17.5f, good to soft) 36 days ago. Well on top at the finish there so not taken lightly despite a 4 lb rise. Pulled up twice over hurdles in May but caused 25-1 surprise on last month's chasing debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
PADDY IN THE CADDY got off the mark over fences at just the second time of asking when emerging as the ready winner of a similar contest at Warwick last week and has to be a serious player turned out quickly under a 7lb penalty. Dunstall Rambler worked wonders to stay on his feet after a bad mistake four out at Ludlow most recently and also enters calculations given that effort can be upgraded. Chasing debutants Smart Casual and Coup De Gold are others to monitor in the betting.
PADDY IN THE CADDY took his form up a level on just his second run over fences when an all-the-way winner at Warwick and can make light of a 7 lb penalty now connections have discovered the key for this son of Doyen. Comfortable Exeter scorer Wellwillya appeals as the one to chase him home ahead of chasing newcomers Coup de Gold and Smart Casual and the handily-weighted Flamelco.
Paddy In The Caddy is respected but FLAMELCO may not allow him an uncontested lead here and might be worth chancing.

1st (2) (11/4 +8%) Caithness |
11/4(+8%) | (2) Caithness 11/4, Comfortable all-the-way winner of maiden/handicap over hurdles at Kelso last year. Hit-or-miss after but made an encouraging start over fences after 4 months off when head-second of 5 to The Churchill Lad on chase debut at Hexham 54 days ago. Definite player. Dual hurdle winner and his near-miss on chase debut was encouraging. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (11/8 +31%) Skycutter |
11/8(+31%) | (3) Skycutter 11/8, Useful Flat performer and back in good form in handicap hurdles for new yard last term, winning at Carlisle. Positive start to chasing at Warwick on return and mark looks potentially lenient. Flat/hurdle winner; chased home the fav on chase debut and he jumped fine. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (5/1 +38%) Coup De Coeur |
5/1(+38%) | (5) Coup De Coeur 5/1, Pair of 17f Sedgefield hurdle wins under Brian Hughes last winter and returned with a creditable second at this course 11 days ago. Has chasing experience in France, so respected back over larger obstacles. 0-4 over fences in France; has done well over hurdles and reappearance was solid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (18/1 -29%) Rich Spirit |
18/1(-29%) | (1) Rich Spirit 18/1, Has some fairly useful winning hurdles form to his name but pulled up in handicap hurdle at Newcastle (20.3f, heavy) final run last season and fell on chasing debut last month. Bit to prove. Competitive off this mark over hurdles; not ideal that he fell midrace on chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (6) (5/1 +50%) Saladam |
5/1(+50%) | (6) Saladam 5/1, Fair hurdler who has only been seen once since April last year, returning from a further year off now. Has a pointing background, though, and in good hands, so could be of interest switched to chasing. Hurdle winner; returns from an absence for chase debut with yard going great guns. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
CAITHNESS made a highly promising start to his career over fences when narrowly denied at Hexham last month. A 3lb rise for that effort looks manageable and having scored on soft ground before, the eight-year-old gets the vote ahead of Skycutter, who ran well himself on his chasing bow at Warwick when second over 2m4f. Not outside the first three in his last five starts, Dance Thief is another to consider.
The handicapper has taken a big chance with SKYCUTTER's mark and, after a solid start to chasing, he makes most appeal for all that Caithness is open to improvement. Coup de Coeur can also be considered.
Although not bred for fences, SKYCUTTER (nap) looked a safe conveyance on his first attempt when chasing home the favourite at Warwick.

7/4(-8%) | (6) Camino Rocio 7/4, Landed a gamble making a winning debut for this yard under an attacking ride at Wincanton and followed up in hard-fought fashion at Huntingdon 2 weeks ago, outbattling runner-up. Should make another bold bid. 2-2 since joining new yard and fitted with visor; may progress further; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (9/1 +36%) Jessmae |
9/1(+36%) | (9) Jessmae 9/1, Successful just once from 8 starts between the flags and well held all 3 starts over hurdles. Makes chase debut. May well benefit from this switch to chasing; largely consistent in Irish points. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (11/1 -69%) Sadler's Bay |
11/1(-69%) | (3) Sadler's Bay 11/1, Fair maiden hurdler who took well to fences season, finishing runner-up in 3m handicaps at Southwell and Exeter. Good run of form came to a halt at Catterick final start but type to bounce back. Consistent maiden who has form figures of 4223 over fences; solid contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (16/1 +11%) Dunworley |
16/1(+11%) | (7) Dunworley 16/1, Maiden pointer. Well held only start over hurdles and poor on balance of form over fences (trained by Richard Pringuer in hunters first 2 starts), no match for principals when third of 7 in handicap chase (9/2) at Huntingdon. Off 6 months. Still a maiden but ran with some promise on last appearance in the spring. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (11) (8/1 +68%) Nothinelsematters |
8/1(+68%) | (11) Nothinelsematters 8/1, Poor maiden hurdler who offered little after 6 months off at Ludlow. Makes chase debut (made frame completed start in points). Chase debutant whose record in points doesn't augur particularly well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (15/2 +70%) Record High |
15/2(+70%) | (1) Record High 15/2, Fontwell bumper winner in February 2022. However, very lightly raced since and modest form only in 3 novice hurdles. Well held on chase debut at Worcester on return. Well held on chase debut but is the type to do better judged on Irish point form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (16/1 +20%) Knocknagappagh |
16/1(+20%) | (2) Knocknagappagh 16/1, Long-standing maiden who was runner-up on 3 of first 4 starts over fences, but little impact both starts since. Has left Peter Fahey and off 7 months. Longstanding maiden in Ireland; market may prove best guide on stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (17/2 +6%) Grass's Jet |
17/2(+6%) | (5) Grass's Jet 17/2, Fair maiden hurdler for Thomas Gallagher. Yet to fire for his current yard, so bit to prove sent chasing in a change of headgear. Could well improve for this switch to chasing and new headgear; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (17/2 +58%) Some Bro |
17/2(+58%) | (10) Some Bro 17/2, Placed a couple of times between the flags but well held in 3 runs over hurdles. Needs to take a step forward on chase/handicap bow. Irish point form included two placed efforts and two falls; mixed messages. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (20/1 -43%) Goguenard |
20/1(-43%) | (8) Goguenard 20/1, Progressed well switched to handicaps last season, again showing a good attitude when scoring for the third time at Stratford (22f, heavy) in March. Next 2 starts were poor but type to bounce back on chase bow/return. Three-time hurdles winner; regressive in Irish points; not sure what to expect. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Camino Rocio is unbeaten in two starts since joining the Jim and Suzi Best stable and he should remain competitive off 6lb higher than his latest victory at Huntingdon. However, a chance can be taken on GRASS'S JET, who makes his first start over fences after showing a lot more when fifth over hurdles at Newcastle last time. The seven-year-old sports first-time blinkers and might be able to score off a career-low mark. Knocknagappagh completes the shortlist.
CAMINO ROCIO can make it 3 from 3 for this yard with in-form opponents thin on the ground. Sadler's Bay and Goguenard look the types to bounce back so are feared most.
Hat-trick seeker Camino Rocio has to be feared, while STUTI and Grass's Jet are interesting switched to chasing.

2/9(+90%) | (1) Nowmelad 2/9, Made it third time lucky over hurdles when making all at Uttoxeter last month. Found out under a penalty but still emerged with credit when third of 14 in novice at Stratford (16.3f, good to soft) just under 4 weeks ago and fancied to be bang there once again. Clearcut winner of Uttoxeter maiden in October and placed under penalty since; big player. |

2nd (4) (7/2 -5%) Not So Sobers |
7/2(-5%) | (4) Not So Sobers 7/2, Fairly useful bumper winner who arrives fit from a good fourth at Cheltenham (16.4f, good) last month, ridden too far back to make much impact. One to consider on hurdle debut. Won Market Rasen bumper in spring; fourth at Cheltenham last month; hurdle debut today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (50/1 -100%) Bobby's Fortune |
50/1(-100%) | (2) Bobby's Fortune 50/1, Bought out of Tjade Collier's yard for just £3,000 and made a winning start in a Ludlow bumper (15.8f, soft) in October 2023. Safely held on hurdles debut at Kempton the following month, though, and it's easy enough to look elsewhere having not been seen since. Won run-of-the-mill bumper in October 2023; off since low-key hurdle debut a month later. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
The winner of a maiden hurdle at Uttoxeter on his penultimate start, NOWMELAD currently sets the standard and, on the back of another solid display when third at Stratford last month, is presented with a good opportunity to add to his tally here. Not So Sobers has shown a lot of promise in bumpers and is taken seriously on his debut over hurdles, while point-to-point winners Mossy Fen Road and Wild Nephin are other notable recruits as they debut under Rules.
Harry Derham continues to impress in the training ranks and his winning Irish pointer MOSSY FEN ROAD is selected to make the perfect start under Rules at the chief expense of Nowmelad, who made it third time lucky in this sphere at Uttoxeter last month and has since performed with credit under a penalty. Not So Sobers and Wild Nephin can fight out minor honours.
Nowmelad has a solid record over hurdles but might find it hard to concede his penalty to Market Rasen bumper winner NOT SO SOBERS.

1st (5) (2/9 +44%) Let It Rain |
2/9(+44%) | (5) Let It Rain 2/9, Looked a good prospect when winning both bumpers last winter and recorded a solid start to hurdling when second in a novice at Chepstow three weeks ago. Should be able to go one better. Listed bumper winner who finished a clear second on hurdling debut; one to beat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (4/1 +11%) Rockola Vogue |
4/1(+11%) | (1) Rockola Vogue 4/1, Bumper winner who built on promising hurdling debut when comfortably landing a 10-runner Hexham novice last time. Can do better again if she brushes up her jumping. Hexham winner; tackles classier opposition this time and burdened with a penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (11) (80/1 +0%) Uokhun |
80/1(+0%) | (11) Uokhun 80/1, Arcadio mare who is bred to stay well and shaped with some encouragement when fourth of 11 in bumper at Musselburgh in March 2023. Limited promise over hurdles since, though. Departed early last week at Carlisle but did go off at 66-1 after quiet start over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (13/2 +35%) Magical Annie |
13/2(+35%) | (8) Magical Annie 13/2, Related to a bumper winner and off the mark at the first attempt in 16-runner event at Galway. Failed to build on that for Ben Pauling but now goes hurdling after 8 months off having moved yards again. Irish bumper winner; well beaten in two British bumpers and had a further wind op. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (18/1 -13%) Longhouse Legacy |
18/1(-13%) | (7) Longhouse Legacy 18/1, Cost £175,000 after getting off the mark in Irish points and bettered previous bumper efforts when second at Huntingdon in March. Proved far too headstrong on last month's hurdles debut and she needs to settle down. Bumper promise but stopped quickly and was pulled up on hurdling debut at Chepstow. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (150/1 -200%) Genies Girl |
150/1(-200%) | (4) Genies Girl 150/1, Half-sister to bumper winner/fair 23f hurdle winner Olivers Travels. Signs of ability in bumpers but will probably need this hurdling debut for both fitness and experience. Her two bumpers were won by the now useful hurdler Gale Mahler; was beaten 12l and 24l. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (200/1 -100%) Bean Alainn |
200/1(-100%) | (2) Bean Alainn 200/1, Finished only fifth in an Irish point and yet to show anything under Rules. Fifth of seven in her point and has shown nothing so far over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (250/1 +0%) Paywave |
250/1(+0%) | (9) Paywave 250/1, Isn't much on looks or pedigree and could hardly have shown any less in two outings to date. Hard to fancy back from 6 months off. Tailed off and pulled up in her first two races over hurdles and makes no appeal. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
A Listed bumper winner at Ascot last December, it is difficult to look past LET IT RAIN, following an encouraging second on her hurdles bow at Chepstow recently. Dropping back in trip looks like a good move for the daughter of Kayf Tara, and she can make it three wins in four starts at the main expense of Rockola Vogue, who has a 7lb penalty to overcome for a comfortable success over 2m4f at Hexham last month. Longhouse Legacy and Magical Annie, who makes her first start for the Fergal O'Brien yard, complete the shortlist.
Bumper winner LET IT RAIN sets the standard on the form of her hurdling debut and she shouldn't have much trouble opening her account in this sphere. Rockola Vogue can compete under a penalty if her jumping improves and Magical Annie is worth monitoring in the betting.
Despite coming up shy on her hurdling debut, LET IT RAIN remains a very smart prospect for her powerful stable.

13/8(+28%) | (9) One Horse Town 13/8, Promising type. Third of 13 in maiden (8/1) at this C&D on debut 14 days ago, slowly away. Should progress. Raced prominently when third here on debut, should be involved with the benefit of the run. |

66/1(-100%) | (3) School Of Athens 66/1, Twice-raced filly. 80/1, eighth of 13 in maiden at Punchestown (7f, good) 71 days ago. Looks held by No Return on Tipperary running, no impact at Punchestown, needs to improve. |

150/1(+0%) | (7) Deep Vein 150/1, Twice-raced colt. Eleventh of 12 in maiden at this course (8f, 200/1) 19 days ago. Huge price in two 1m starts at this venue, no sign of winning potential; easily ruled out. |

80/1(-60%) | (8) Diva Time 80/1, Once-raced colt. Tongue strap on, ninth of 12 in maiden (66/1) at this course (8f) on debut 19 days ago. 66-1 when down the field over C&D first time out, unlikely to make a major impact. |

Joseph O'Brien's ONE HORSE TOWN can progress from an opening third over course and distance a fortnight ago. He couldn't go with the winner in the final furlong, but that horse is clearly more than useful and there was merit in his placed effort. Wait For It is interesting up in trip as she hit the line well for fourth on debut at Navan last month, while O'Brien's Fortuna Vera should be all the better for a keeping-on sixth over course and distance earlier in the month. Ken Condon's Frankton is worth a market check as he is by Romanised, who won the Irish 2,000 Guineas for the stable, out of a Frankel mare.
ONE HORSE TOWN fared best of the newcomers when third in a C&D maiden 2 weeks ago and is preferred to stablemate Fortuna Vera, who caught the eye when sixth on her debut here. Form pick No Return is another to consider.
Two once-raced runners may dominate and slight preference is for C&D third ONE HORSE TOWN over Navan fourth Wait For It

1st (3) (3/1 +60%) Supreme Gift |
3/1(+60%) | (3) Supreme Gift 3/1, A useful chase/hurdles winner who resumed from 6 months off with an encouraging seventh of 12 in handicap hurdle at Cheltenham (24f, good) 32 days ago, fading only on the run-in. Very much one to consider. Interesting in the retained visor with Cheltenham reappearance under his belt. |

2nd (2) (2/1 +33%) Harbour Lake |
2/1(+33%) | (2) Harbour Lake 2/1, Course winner who resumed his progress when landing 8-runner handicap hurdle at Aintree (24.7f, good) 18 days ago. Up 6 lb but he merits serious consideration once more. Successful in a Pertemps qualifier at Aintree this month; 1-1 here; solid claims. |

3rd (8) (7/2 +56%) What A Johnny |
7/2(+56%) | (8) What A Johnny 7/2, Off 5 months/had wind op before a fading sixth of 9 in handicap hurdle at Carlisle (20f, good to soft) 24 days ago. Tongue strap goes on for the 1st time now and no surprise to see him get back on the up. Below par last time; consistent and progressive otherwise; not written off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (14/1 +13%) Willaston |
14/1(+13%) | (7) Willaston 14/1, A three-time hurdle winner since joining Mark Walford but proving hit and miss of late, a well-held fourth in 3m Aintree handicap 18 days ago. Others appeal more. Inconsistent of late and finished 24l behind Harbour Lake at Aintree. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (18/1 +36%) Giovanni Change |
18/1(+36%) | (9) Giovanni Change 18/1, A 3-time C&D winner but he beat only one in handicap hurdle over C&D in August. Has something to prove. Four wins here; second in this race last year; far from solid on 2024 form. |

|R| (6) (11/2 +45%) Idem |
11/2(+45%) | (6) Idem 11/2, Scored at Kelso in May and in good nick since, eighth of 12 in handicap hurdle at Cheltenham (24f, good) 32 days ago. One for the shortlist. Perhaps hindered by losing a shoe last time; in good form otherwise this term. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (25/1 +24%) Bold Endeavour |
25/1(+24%) | (1) Bold Endeavour 25/1, Very useful hurdler and chaser at his best for Nicky Henderson in recent seasons. Rejoined Laura Morgan after 6 months off when only seventh of 8 to Harbour Lake in handicap hurdle at Aintree (24.7f, good) 18 days ago but can take a step forward now. Useful on his day; two heavy defeats this term, latest on debut for new yard. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
Course winner HARBOUR LAKE sets the standard on form following a clear-cut success over further on his return at Aintree earlier in the month. A 6lb rise for that victory could prove lenient and Alan King's charge is preferred to the progressive Skyjack Hijack, who has won his last five and should have no issue with going back up in distance, but he is 19lb higher than for his last win. West To The Bridge may be without a win since March 2023, but he ran a fine race when third at Bangor-on-Dee last time out and is dangerous to ignore.
HARBOUR LAKE got back on the up when scoring at Aintree and this course winner edges the vote in this tight-knit handicap. Dan Skelton's handily-weighted West To The Bridge rates a big threat though, while Skyjack Hijack, Supreme Gift and What A Johnny can all have a say too.
Solid-looking HARBOUR LAKE is taken to follow up his Aintree win. Supreme Gift is second choice, ahead of Skyjack Hijack.

80/1(-186%) | (3) Face D'music 80/1, Placed on only start in points and off the mark over hurdles at Hereford in May. However, let down by jumping both starts over fences this term. Course winner over hurdles in May but has not made a good start to chasing career. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (4/1 -60%) Harrys Hope |
4/1(-60%) | (7) Harrys Hope 4/1, Irish point winner who has left her hurdles exploits well behind sent chasing last month, completing a quickfire hat-trick at Stratford with a bit in hand. Further 7 lb rise is fair enough and she's the one to beat again. 3-3 since switched to fences last month; could easily have more to offer over new trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (9/2 +59%) Shot Boii |
9/2(+59%) | (5) Shot Boii 9/2, Won C&D handicap at the start of the year and a couple of good seconds after. Not disgraced at Ffos Las on return and entitled to come on for that. Not very reliable but won here last season and may come on for recent reappearance run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (12) (28/1 -56%) Puddlesinthepark |
28/1(-56%) | (12) Puddlesinthepark 28/1, Only win came at Ffos Las over hurdles. Appears to have lost his form, however, eleventh of 13 in handicap chase (7/1) at Ffos Las (23.8f, good to soft) 17 days ago. Lurks on a dangerous mark but has been out of form this autumn; needs to turn a corner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (13) (9/1 +44%) Unspeakable |
9/1(+44%) | (13) Unspeakable 9/1, Hurdles winner who ran well back in this sphere when third at Huntingdon last month. Remains with potential over fences. Ran quite well at Huntingdon last month but his overall profile is not that appealing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (11/1 +56%) Kapamazov |
11/1(+56%) | (10) Kapamazov 11/1, Running respectably in the summer without shaping like he's ahead of his mark, though might have needed the run on second start over fences at Stratford last month. 0-10 under rules but significant positives can be drawn from both chasing attempts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (11/2 +45%) Faded Fantasy |
11/2(+45%) | (9) Faded Fantasy 11/2, On a losing run over hurdles but came close to getting off the mark at the first attempt over fences over C&D 2 weeks ago, closing all the way to the line. Headgear goes on now and he needs considering. Inconsistent over hurdles but rallied well to go close over C&D on recent chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (2) (11/2 +21%) Ultra Beat |
11/2(+21%) | (2) Ultra Beat 11/2, Placed sole run between the flags and bettered previous hurdles form by some way when third in a 14-runner novice at Ffos Las in May. Backed that up switched to fences when second at Bangor on handicap bow/return last month and entitled to progress. Made jockey work hard before eventually staying on for second on chasing debut at Bangor. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (8) (28/1 -27%) No Rematch |
28/1(-27%) | (8) No Rematch 28/1, Denied only by an unexposed type in 15-runner handicap hurdle at Exeter (21.6f, heavy) on final outing for Evan Williams in December. Not seen to best effect both starts for this yard in the summer but record over fences not as good. Ran okay over hurdles on stable debut in June and had ground excuse next time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (9/2 +44%) Hermes Du Gouet |
9/2(+44%) | (1) Hermes Du Gouet 9/2, Point/hurdles winner and best effort over fences last season when second of 4 in handicap chase at Fontwell (26f, heavy), though went with little fluency. Off 8 months. Game second in Fontwell chase in March and remains well handicapped on hurdle form. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
A 6lb higher mark wasn't enough to prevent the progressive HARRYS HOPE from completing a hat-trick at Stratford last time out. Ben Pauling's mare idled and scored with something up her sleeve that day and, although hit with a further 7lb rise, she may still be ahead of the handicapper. Faded Fantasy offered plenty to work with on his second-placed chasing bow over C&D 15 days ago and is feared most, ahead of fellow in-form rival Ultra Beat.
Chasing has clearly been the making of HARRYS HOPE and she looks up to completing the 4-timer over this longer trip. Faded Fantasy and Ultra Beat both made a positive start to their chasing careers when runner-up over C&D and Bangor respectively and they head the dangers.
Harrys Hope has taken very well to fences this autumn but slight preference is for C&D winner SHOT BOII, who has a visor refitted.

5/2(+29%) | (6) Mr Bramley 5/2, Progressive in bumpers and won a pair of novices at up to 19.6f on first 2 starts over hurdles. Matched rather than improved on previous form switched to a handicap when third of 8 at Uttoxeter on final outing in April. Remains unexposed. Promising start to hurdling career earlier this year and he's open to further improvement. |

85/40(+36%) | (4) Hourvari 85/40, Fairly useful in bumpers and quickly reached a similar level over hurdles in 2022/23 season, successful twice in novice company at up to 19.5f. Failed to meet expectations on handicap debut at Aintree 13 months ago but returns from another absence with stable in red-hot form. Ran just once last season and was below par; promising novice in 2022-23; check the market. |

3rd (5) (9/2 +31%) Fingal's Hill |
9/2(+31%) | (5) Fingal's Hill 9/2, Consistent and likeable hurdler who looked and shaped as though in need of the run in first-time cheekpieces at Carlisle 24 days ago. Likely to be much closer to form this time and needs considering. May have needed this month's reappearance run and he's below his last winning mark. |

4th (3) (10/1 -54%) Matchless |
10/1(-54%) | (3) Matchless 10/1, Fairly useful hurdler who didn't need to be anywhere near that level to land the odds in 4-runner seller at Plumpton (15.9f, good) 9 days ago. Faces a stiffer task back in handicap company under 7-lb penalty, however. Had to work hard to win Plumpton seller last week but no surprise if he plays major role. |

|F| (2) (10/1 -67%) Rafferty's Return |
10/1(-67%) | (2) Rafferty's Return 10/1, Front runner who scored at Carlisle in February and quickly back on the up when landing a 6-runner event at Newcastle the following month. Unable to dominate and ran poorly on final outing at Perth in April. Cheekpieces refitted on this return to action. Two wins last season and reappears with yard going very well; could make a bold bid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (12/1 -71%) Herbiers |
12/1(-71%) | (1) Herbiers 12/1, Useful handicap hurdler and similar form over fences, again running well when second of 4 in handicap chase at Warwick (16.2f, good to soft) when last seen 19 months ago. Has long lay-off to overcome but is likeable and reliable. On a handy mark and he's one to watch in the betting but has a hefty absence to defy. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
This is wide open and while the race-fit Matchless, a comfortable winner of a seller at Plumpton recently, ought to prove popular under the penalty, it might pay to side with HOURVARI. Progressive before disappointing in a warm class 2 event at Aintree when last seen in October of last year, he returns with his yard in irresistible form and, all being well, he may well resume progress from 5lb lower. Mr Bramley appeals most of the remainder.
FINGAL'S HILL is a most likeable and consistent type who seems sure to be all the better for his reappearance, so he's fancied to notch a sixth career win over hurdles. Hourvari has a 13-month absence to overcome but reappears with his stable in red-hot form, with Herbiers another returner to keep an eye on in the betting.
This could go to FINGAL'S HILL, who is below his last winning mark and may have needed the run at Carlisle.

14/1(+44%) | (13) Clonmacash 14/1, Course winner. 80/1, creditable eighth of 14 in handicap at this course (6f) 12 days ago, would have benefited from stronger handling. Not discounted with Whelan on board. 6f course winner last year, stable appears to have a much better chance with Nikki Swango. |

11th (6) (25/1 +0%) Catherine Chroi |
25/1(+0%) | (6) Catherine Chroi 25/1, C&D winner. 6 wins from 18 runs this year. Tenth of 26 in handicap (33/1) at the Curragh (7f, good to soft) 24 days ago. Could be back on her game. Nine-time winner including five on AW, has been a 6f specialist but gets this trip. |

12th (9) (14/1 -133%) Skontonovski |
14/1(-133%) | (9) Skontonovski 14/1, 7-time course winner. 3 wins from 20 runs this year. 10/3, didn't need to improve to win 11-runner handicap at this course (8f) 28 days ago. Should go well again. Gained seventh course win on latest, 4lb higher now, should not left out of calculations. |

13th (10) (12/1 +64%) Star Mind |
12/1(+64%) | (10) Star Mind 12/1, 18/1, eleventh of 12 in handicap at Yarmouth (6f, firm) 70 days ago, slowly away. First run for yard after leaving Jack Jones. Others more persuasive. Two AW wins in Britain, below best on final two starts so best watched on Irish debut. |

14th (7) (12/1 +25%) Port Louis |
12/1(+25%) | (7) Port Louis 12/1, 28/1, last of 10 in handicap at this course (8f) 19 days ago. Others more persuasive. Good effort at Fairyhouse in May, no impact in two outings this month after break. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
NIKKI SWANGO was somewhat unlucky when pipped in second over course and distance last week. She was tardy from the gates and suffered a less than clear route approaching the final two furlongs. She finished well, though, and is on a dangerous mark. Her stablemate, Skontonovski, is one for careful consideration as he arrives in winning form and his rider's 10lb claim has him on an appealing rating. Shoot To Kill got back to winning ways over this trip a couple of weeks ago and is dangerous despite an 8lb hike from the handicapper, while Mehman and Rampage are others in there pitching for prize money.
MEHMAN is on a good mark and shaped like he's ready to capitalise when a staying-on third here recently, so he's fancied from a good draw. Skontonovski and Little Empire should also be involved.
Rated higher at the start of the season, NIKKI SWANGO shaped well here on her second start for this stable and may go one better

1st (3) (11/4 +21%) Marsh Wren |
11/4(+21%) | (3) Marsh Wren 11/4, Quickly developed into a useful chaser last season, winning 3 of her 5 starts including listed mares novice at Thurles in February. Improved further when third in Grade 2 Mares Chase (20.6f, heavy) at Cheltenham and she's respected on return. Big player provided she backs up Cheltenham Festival effort and stays this longer trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (13/8 +28%) Apple Away |
13/8(+28%) | (2) Apple Away 13/8, Wide-margin winner on second start over fences last season and back on the up when successful in listed mares chase at Perth (23.8f, soft) in April. Shaped as if better for the run at Kelso last month, so she could still have more to offer. Bagged a similar event at Perth in April; Grade 1 winner as a hurdler; in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (15/2 +46%) La Renommee |
15/2(+46%) | (4) La Renommee 15/2, Has improved since upped in trip, winning mares handicap at Cheltenham in April before building on a run over hurdles to also score in a Ludlow handicap (23.8f, good) in October. However, bounce back called for having been pulled up at Kelso last time. Defied top weight in two handicaps this year; dismal effort last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (3/1 -33%) Fantastic Lady |
3/1(-33%) | (1) Fantastic Lady 3/1, Winner of this race on return in 2022/23 and, after several good efforts in defeat, better than ever when landing Grade 2 Oaksey Chase at Sandown (22.8f, good) on final start last season. Off 7 months but she looks to hold leading claims. Won this race in 2022; career-best performance in Sandown Grade 2 on last appearance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (6) (12/1 +0%) Sine Nomine |
12/1(+0%) | (6) Sine Nomine 12/1, Has a likeable profile both in points and under Rules, making it 4 wins from 6 starts in hunter chases when landing the Festival Challenge Cup at Cheltenham (26.3f, heavy). Strong traveller, though will need to find more again after 8 months off. Progressive in hunter chases, most recently landing the big one at the Cheltenham Festival. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
FANTASTIC LADY ended last season with a career-best Grade 2 win at Sandown in April and although she has a 6lb penalty to carry on her return, Nicky Henderson's mare should appreciate the step back up in trip and drop in class. The nine-year-old won this contest on her only previous try at 3m in 2022 and she may have too much for Marsh Wren, who scored at this level last season and was a creditable third in the Mares' Chase at the Cheltenham Festival when last seen. An inconsistent yet capable sort on her day, La Renommee is capable of being in the shake-up as well.
FANTASTIC LADY produced a career-best effort when winning the Oaksey Chase at Sandown in April and she can land this listed prize for a second time having been successful in the 2022 renewal. Marsh Wren boasts a good record fresh and is feared most following her excellent first season over fences, while Apple Away could take a step forward from her recent run.
Very useful FANTASTIC LADY could well record a second win in this contest. Sine Nomine is second pick.

5/2(+67%) | (2) Don Rafael 5/2, Winner at Stratford in July. Creditable third of 7 in handicap hurdle at this C&D (good, 3/1) 23 days ago. Has been in good order for a while and another solid showing is on the cards. In the frame in all three handicaps since his maiden win, the latest over C&D this month. |

2nd (7) (9/4 +81%) Mactavish |
9/4(+81%) | (7) Mactavish 9/4, Recorded back-to-back wins here (both at 21.7f) last year and back on the scoresheet with cheekpieces refitted at Worcester (20f) in June. Exploits mixed subsequently but needs respecting at this track after a break. Very well suited by this track but not at best lately and recent rain no help. |

3rd (1) (50/1 -25%) Just Go For It |
50/1(-25%) | (1) Just Go For It 50/1, At the veteran stage and wasn't at her best when last seen 6 months ago. Has left Mitchell Hunt and rejoined former yard, but there's a fair bit to prove. Good winner at Taunton in March but absent since 35l defeat over C&D in May. |

4th (8) (14/1 +13%) Leave Her To Me |
14/1(+13%) | (8) Leave Her To Me 14/1, Bumper winner in 2022 and came good at the second time of asking over hurdles back from an absence at Uttoxeter in July. Not quite in the same form since. Maiden winner this summer; both handicap runs this autumn were respectable; e-w claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (11/8 +8%) Any Biscuits |
11/8(+8%) | (3) Any Biscuits 11/8, Much improved in spring of 2023 with 2m2f handicap wins at Market Rasen and Exeter. Hit the ground running back from 18 months off with an excellent second at Stratford 39 days ago and is worth a chance to resume winning ways. Ran big race in defeat last month, after a long layoff, and may still have more to offer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (50/1 -127%) To Be Sure |
50/1(-127%) | (5) To Be Sure 50/1, Back to form from out of the blue when taking advantage of a reduced mark in a Ffos Las handicap chase (3m, soft) in April 2023. Out of sorts when last seen a year ago and others are more persuasive. Out of form when last seen last autumn and seems best at around 3m. |

|F| (10) (100/1 -100%) Great Threat |
100/1(-100%) | (10) Great Threat 100/1, Showed fair form at best in 2 hurdle/chase starts in France, but well beaten in a hurdle/chase in Britain when last seen. Off 12 months and hard to fancy. Very unexposed in Britain but has struggled in a novice hurdle and a handicap chase. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (40/1 -100%) Gillespie Road |
40/1(-100%) | (9) Gillespie Road 40/1, Successful on sole outing in Irish points. Down the field so far over hurdles but now upped in trip for handicap debut, so well worth a market check. Soundly beaten in three 2m novice races this autumn; possible improver in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (66/1 -32%) Eagle Court |
66/1(-32%) | (11) Eagle Court 66/1, Fair performer on Flat but no real impact over hurdles, including in handicaps. Up against it. Quite useful on he Flat in his prime but has not yet shown a great deal over hurdles. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Having returned from a 547-day absence to finish second at Stratford last month, Any Biscuits is entitled to build on that promising return. A 2lb higher rating shouldn't prevent another prominent showing from Harry Derham's charge, but DON RAFAEL is slightly more compelling. The four-year-old finished third behind a subsequent winner over C&D earlier this month and a similar performance off a 1lb lower mark may prove good enough. Wide-margin Perth scorer Limerick Leader also enters calculations on his first outing for Alison Thorpe.
ANY BISCUITS is in excellent hands and boasts an upwardly mobile profile, so he gets the nod over the in-form Don Rafael. Limerick Leader was an impressive winner on his final outing for Olly Murphy and shouldn't be ruled out on debut for a smaller yard.
Low-mileage 7yo ANY BISCUITS (nap) hit form with two wins in spring 2023 and was quickly back in the groove last month, after a layoff.

2nd (1) (20/1 -67%) Senor Lombardy |
20/1(-67%) | (1) Senor Lombardy 20/1, Multiple winning pointer, again runner-up last time (Apr 13), but probably best watched on belated return to Rules. Multiple point winner; 0-10 over regulation fences and turns 12 pretty soon. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (18/1 +0%) Monaghan Boy |
18/1(+0%) | (9) Monaghan Boy 18/1, Runner-up 3 times on the bounce prior to belatedly shedding his maiden tag at Sedgefield in February. Ran no sort of race at Hexham final start and 4 lb out of handicap on return. Ran poorly when last seen in April and he's 4lb wrong for this return to action. |

4th (2) (10/3 -48%) Chemical Warfare |
10/3(-48%) | (2) Chemical Warfare 10/3, Most progressive for this yard this season, winning for the fifth time at Newcastle last month. Raised another 7 lb for that but looks sure to go well again. Has won five of his last seven races, the latest fairly decisive; up another 7lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (11/1 -175%) Camp Belan |
11/1(-175%) | (3) Camp Belan 11/1, Thorough stayer who cashed in on his reduced mark at Ayr (24.1f) in February. Creditable efforts in defeat have followed, including when 6¼ lengths third of 6 at Ayr on return. Likely to be sharper here. Dual chase winner and left the impression that recent Ayr run would bring him on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (17/2 +66%) Great Ballinboris |
17/2(+66%) | (8) Great Ballinboris 17/2, Failed to make an impact over hurdles and not much better over fences. 2 lb out of the handicap. Beaten 17l and 33l in his first two chases before pulling up at Sedgefield in May. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (66/1 -230%) Rostello |
66/1(-230%) | (5) Rostello 66/1, Not straightforward but put it all together under a good ride when winning 4-runner Southwell handicap in April. Took little interest there following month, however, and remains a risky proposition. First run for yard after leaving Dr Richard Newland & Jamie Insole. Six-time chase winner but pulled up in May and then sold on for £5,000. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (7/2 +78%) Asa |
7/2(+78%) | (7) Asa 7/2, Off the mark in 10-runner handicap hurdle at Cartmel (2¾m, good) in June and made quite an eye-catching start to her chasing career when fifth at Kelso last month, finishing with running left. Return to further will suit and she's a player. Encouraging fifth on chase debut at Kelso (2m1f) and her win over hurdles came at 2m6f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (11/2 +0%) Whosmydaddy |
11/2(+0%) | (6) Whosmydaddy 11/2, No significant impact in maiden/novice hurdles but proved a different proposition sent handicap chasing in headgear when winning over 3m at Musselburgh and Ayr. Came up short in his hat-trick bid at Hexham in May but remains low mileage. Getting back on softer ground will be no bad thing but others might be better treated. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
CHEMICAL WARFARE was able to shrug off an 8lb rise to complete his hat-trick at Newcastle last month and given the progressive nature of David Pipe's gelding, a further 7lb hike might not halt him here. That said, Whosmydaddy is two from three over fences and he must be respected having been given some time off since a disappointing effort at Hexham in May. Camp Belan is unlikely to be far away either.
CHEMICAL WARFARE is proving to be a real money spinner for this yard and a further 7 lb rise doesn't look insurmountable given his straightforward win at Newcastle last month. Asa caught the eye on her chase bow at Kelso and is next best ahead of the low-mileage Whosmydaddy.
Chemical Warfare commands respect but CAMP BELAN is an experienced chaser who should strip fitter for his respectable return.

20/1(+20%) | (9) Ragtime Milly 20/1, Last of 14 in handicap at this C&D (16/1) 19 days ago. Needs to bounce back. Best effort when fourth behind Rock Etoile at Gowran in September but well beaten since. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
KNOCKMORE PRINCE left a string of 'duck eggs' behind when keeping on for third over 7f at this track last week. That was the first time that Rory Mulligan had partnered him and his 7lb claim is enlisted again. Pillar Of Hope has changed stables since an encouraging fifth in a higher grade at Punchestown in September. Previous all-weather efforts have been unconvincing, but he is on a very appealing mark with Patrick McGettigan's claim factored in. Mullacash Buzz is just 1lb higher than when last successful over 7f at this track, so has his chance. The Bog Bank hasn't been at her best in her last three outings, but does know how to pick up prize money.
MULLACASH BUZZ has a solid course record and has been threatening to come good from a handy mark, so he takes preference over Rumbled Again, with Rock Etoile also of interest down in grade.
After a good run here last week with no luck in running, perhaps KNOCKMORE PRINCE can land this back up to 1m

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Having made a winning stable bow when clinging on at Ayr earlier this month, another bold showing is forecast from Pats Dream. However, a 7lb higher mark demands more from the seven-year-old and it may be worth chancing PERCY VEERING on the back of a wind procedure. Kim Bailey's gelding had little difficulty in completing a hat-trick over fences last season before his yard started to struggle and he could resume his progress given the upturn of his stable's form in recent months. Coolmoyne and Duke Of Moravia are others to consider.
PATS DREAM was quick to make his mark for his new yard at Ayr last time out and can make light of a 7 lb rise given he remains handily weighted on past exploits. Kim Bailey's returning Percy Veering is another who figures on a good mark and merits plenty of respect on the back of another wind op, while Coolmoyne and Anytrixwilldo must enter calculations too.
Several have possibilities but it's worth sticking with PATS DREAM (nap), who justified favouritism on his recent stable debut at Ayr.

3rd (3) (12/1 -118%) Saisissante |
12/1(-118%) | (3) Saisissante 12/1, Fairly useful Flat winner at up to 1¼m in France. Refitted with blinkers/tongue tie combination when landing juvenile hurdle at Ludlow (15.8f, soft) in November 2023 and ran to a similar level when third at Newbury the following month. Makes return/handicap hurdle debut with headgear discarded. Ex-French 4yo; back from a year off but she needs a close look on handicap hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (5/2 +17%) Billams Legacy |
5/2(+17%) | (2) Billams Legacy 5/2, Hard to knock her consistency over hurdles and ended a sequence of seconds of rare length (seven) when getting off the mark in 7-runner novice at Uttoxeter (15.8f, soft) back in July. Freshened up since and every chance she can kick on now up and running back in a handicap. Easy win in 2m maiden in July; raised 5lb but she's respected back in a handicap on return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (25/1 -14%) Missy Mole |
25/1(-14%) | (8) Missy Mole 25/1, Runner-up completed start in Irish points but little to shout about all 3 outings over hurdles (hooded on latest). Likely to make more impact now tackling low-grade handicaps. Still early days in this sphere and now goes handicapping but she needs a transformation. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (14/1 +65%) Simply Belle |
14/1(+65%) | (9) Simply Belle 14/1, Reached the frame 3 times in bumpers but the form is only modest and she's made little impact over hurdles in a handful of starts, latest after 7 months off at Southwell (15.8f, good) 5 weeks ago. Could have something to offer now handicapping, however. Handicap newcomer but she needs to find plenty of progress to make a big impact. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (11/1 -10%) Doyen Magic |
11/1(-10%) | (5) Doyen Magic 11/1, Down the field sole start in bumpers and only modest form at best so far over hurdles, always around the same position in mid-division on handicap debut at Wexford (16.7f, good to soft) back in August. Has since left Paul Nolan and she'll need to take a step forward to feature. Ex-Irish; still lightly raced over hurdles but she needs improvement for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (1) (4/1 -33%) Irish Chorus |
4/1(-33%) | (1) Irish Chorus 4/1, Just modest form at best in 3 bumper outings but promise over hurdles, shaping quite encouragingly after 6 months off when third of 8 in novice at Uttoxeter (15.8f, good to soft) earlier in the month. Remains with potential now handicapping so she's high on the shortlist. Placed in maiden hurdles last twice and she's an interesting contender on handicap debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Billams Legacy landed her maiden in impressive fashion at Uttoxeter in July and is respected off a 5lb higher mark returning to handicap company, while Saisissante, who was far from disgraced in Listed company in December of last year, warrants a market check. However, preference is for CULLIGRAN, who would not need much more improvement to strike having finished a close-up third under similar conditions from 1lb lower at Worcester in July.
Having finished runner-up on seven consecutive starts, BILLAMS LEGACY gained a deserved first win over hurdles at Uttoxeter in July and now up and running, Fergal O'Brien's 9-y-o can follow up returned to handicap company. The main threat may emerge from Irish Chorus, who shaped quite encouragingly after 6 months off last time and is open to improvement now handicapping, with Saisissante and Culligran rounding off the shortlist.
The vote goes to BILLAMS LEGACY, who was an easy winner at Uttoxeter in July and still looks feasibly treated off her revised mark.

15/8(+46%) | (9) Queenofthejukebox 15/8, Was still in need of the experience on debut at Aintree last month (tongue tied) despite having found only one too good in a point in March, going on well as the penny dropped late on. Should improve and strong claims. Promising fourth on last month's bumper debut at Aintree and holds leading claims. |

3rd (13) (100/1 -203%) Vienna Pearl |
100/1(-203%) | (13) Vienna Pearl 100/1, 200/1, well held in Aintree mares' bumper on debut last month. Has work to do with Queenofthejukebox judged on their Aintree clash. |

5th (8) (66/1 -32%) Polkaface |
66/1(-32%) | (8) Polkaface 66/1, £28,000 Vadamos filly. Half-sister to numerous winners, including smart 2m hurdler Cockney Sparrow and fairly useful hurdler Dino Mite. Little encouragement in deep Aintree mares' bumper (40/1) on debut last month. Attractive pedigree but she was well beaten at 40-1 on last month's debut at Aintree. |

33/1(-106%) | (11) Spectress 33/1, Passing Glance mare. Dam 2¼m hurdle winner, half-sister to fairly useful hurdler/chaser (15f-17f winner) Fair Loch. 1st foal; dam point/2m2f hurdle winner (RPR 94); she may be one for further down the line. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Queenofthejukebox shaped with promise when fourth at Aintree on her debut last month. Noel Williams' filly ought to mount a stern challenge with improvement on the cards, but BLUE BETTY gets the vote. The daughter of Blue Bresil, whose dam is related to a trio of bumper winners, seems certain to know her job for a team who often do well in these types of contest. Others to note include Rene's Walk and Apieceovfortune.
RENE'S WALK and Blue Betty are appealing newcomers and Dan Skelton's charge is taken to make a successful start before market clues. Queenofthejukebox fared much the best of the three of these who contested a class 2 mares' event at Aintree last month and should improve.
This could go to the £90,000 newcomer BLUE BETTY, whose trainer Fergal O'Brien does extremely well in mares' bumpers.

It is no surprise to see MISS ABBY JOOLS out again quickly after she travelled well on stable debut before being beaten a neck into second a week ago. She has an excellent record on the Polytrack at Dundalk having only once finished out of the first three. Morning Approach stayed on for third over C&D recently and is certainly in the hunt for another cheque. Man Is King is closely matched with Miss Abby Jools as he was just a head behind her in third in that aforementioned race.
Lots with chances but MORNING APPROACH returned to form when a good C&D third recently and edges the vote. Shining Aitch heads the list of dangers, while Lorr's Girl, Cousin Shay and Man Is King also need factoring into this open handicap.
A tentative vote goes to WHAT A SQUEEZE, who has dropped well down the handicap but ran encouragingly over 7f here last month

GREAT FLEET lost little in defeat when finding only a subsequent Chepstow bumper winner too strong in an Irish point-to-point for previous connections in May. Now under the tutelage of Dan Skelton, the son of Doyen boasts enough speed in his pedigree to suggest he'll cope with today's extended 2m distance and he's fancied to make a perfect start. Newcomers Pertemps and Top Jimmy are both appealing on paper and market support for either would be interesting, while Blue Bellamy could put his experience to good use.
This could go to one of the Rules debutants, GREAT FLEET making plenty of appeal having finished runner-up in an Irish point ahead of joining his leading trainer. He is preferred to newcomer Top Jimmy, who represents a yard who does well in bumpers, with Blue Bellamy the pick of those with previous experience in this sphere.
Irish point runner-up GREAT FLEET is taken to go one better. Pertemps and Top Jimmy are interesting newcomers.

Olly Murphy often does well in bumpers and with the yard in a rich vein of form, KEFIR D'OUDAIRIES is taken to enhance that record. Picked up for 48,000-euros in June of last year, the son of Seahenge makes plenty of appeal on paper and might not have to be anything out of the ordinary. The booking of Harry Cobden aboard Kashmir De Corton is noteworthy and he warrants a market check, as does Sangpoursangamoi who, akin to the selection, represents a team in flying form.
Newcomers KEFIR D'OUDAIRIES and Sangpoursangamoi make most appeal before market clues, with Olly Murphy's charge narrowly preferred.
Newcomers SANGPOURSANGAMOI and Kefir D'Oudairies both represent trainers with good bumper records and may fight this out.

Won at Laytown again in September; well beaten here two weeks ago and needs to bounce back. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
DAAMBERDIPLOMAT took the scalps of Harry's Bar and Dontspoilasale over course and distance at the start of the month and could repeat the feat. With Ben Coen riding abroad, it looks a shrewd move to put 7lb claimer Rory Mulligan up to more than offset the 6lb rise in the weights Daamberdiplomat has been given. Harry's Bar is well versed in quality sprints and looks poised for a big run. Among his 15 victories, eight have come in Dundalk and he is a terrific horse for rookie-trainer Stephen Thorne to go to war with. Dontspoilaslae dominated off the front on his latest race and should be in the thick of the action. Inishmot Prince is a different prospect back at Dundalk and has to be respected, while last year's winner Dream Today and Apache Outlaw cannot be ruled out.
INISHMOT PRINCE looks on a handy mark back on the AW and can record his 4th C&D success (won this 2 years ago). Dontspoilasale and Daamberdiplomat both arrive on the back of career-best wins so are feared most.
Preference is for INISHMOT PRINCE, who broke his turf duck at Navan and should be effective once more back on his favourite surface

SAY IT SO has been well campaigned to win over hurdles at Killarney and on the Flat at Navan. The Navan success was particularly notable as he was slowly away and had to pass the whole field which he did in style. The handicapper has had his say as he is 11lb higher, however, he remains in the same 47-65 grade. Pat Flynn's yard are in good form and Duke Otto has been acquitting himself well over hurdles. He looks well worth another go on the Polytrack. Nicola Burns gets another spin on Bright Start after the pair finished well for fourth over 1m4f at this track earlier this month, while Jinxs Link is another with a squeak.
This is wide open. SAY IT SO has taken a hike in the weights following his Navan victory but still looks the way to go here. Jinxs Link could emerge as the main danger on his handicap bow ahead of Jet Times, Bright Start and Tastyee.
The one to beat should be top-weight SAY IT SO(nap), up 10lb for a decisive win at Navan and will be hard to stop in this company

1st (6) (5/2 -25%) Tribal Star |
5/2(-25%) | (6) Tribal Star 5/2, Lightly-raced gelding. Creditable third of 13 in maiden (10/11) at this course (10.7f) 12 days ago. Stable in good form. Ought to go close. Good third latest; likely market leader and sets the standard if the step up in trip suits. |

2nd (7) (11/2 +31%) Inthesmallhours |
11/2(+31%) | (7) Inthesmallhours 11/2, Once-raced filly. Fifth of 13 in maiden at this course (10.7f, 33/1) on debut 12 days ago, never nearer. Respected with the potential for better. Quite a promising debut here two weeks ago; might well improve enough to go close. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (11/1 +0%) Sportingsilvermine |
11/1(+0%) | (4) Sportingsilvermine 11/1, Fairly useful gelding. Remains a maiden after 15 Flat runs. Bit below form seventh of 14 in maiden at this course (8f, 6/1) 26 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Below best under positive ride in 1m maiden latest; unknown territory here trip-wise. |

4th (8) (20/1 +20%) Shaool |
20/1(+20%) | (8) Shaool 20/1, Twice-raced filly. Sixth of 13 in maiden at the Curragh (12f, soft, 200/1) 36 days ago. Needs more. Ran respectably at the Curragh; not much more needed to have a squeak. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (150/1 -20%) Saga Des Aigles |
150/1(-20%) | (3) Saga Des Aigles 150/1, Twice-raced filly. Eighth of 12 in maiden at Bellewstown (12.2f, good, 150/1). Off 145 days. No show in two maidens on turf over this trip; will get a mark after this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (5/4 +44%) Bowmore |
5/4(+44%) | (1) Bowmore 5/4, Useful jumps winner. Running below form when fell in Gr 3 chase (3/1) at Roscommon (16.7f, soft) 58 days ago, Worth chancing on first go in this sphere. First start on the Flat in preparation for a target over fences and not one to dismiss. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (6/1 -9%) Dahab |
6/1(-9%) | (2) Dahab 6/1, Lightly-raced gelding on Flat. Cheekpieces on for 1st time, respectable fourth of 13 in maiden (11/1) at this course (10.7f) 12 days ago. Not dismissed. Another good effort over 1m2f here two weeks ago in cheekpieces; should go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (125/1 -150%) Tassarolo |
125/1(-150%) | (5) Tassarolo 125/1, Thrice-raced gelding. Eighth of 13 in maiden (150/1) at this course (10.7f) 12 days ago, merely passing beaten rivals. Okay run latest; more needed and stable second-string but could be going the right way. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
INTHESMALLHOURS could be worth chancing on her second start. She shaped like a step up in trip wouldn't inconvenience her when keeping on for fifth over an extended 1m2f on debut at this racecourse. Tribal Star sets a more than fair standard with a rating 82. She was just in front of Inthesmallhours in third just under a fortnight ago, but wasn't as strong at the finish and could be vulnerable over this trip. Bowmore is an interesting Flat and Polytrack debutant after victories in a maiden hurdle at Wexford and in a beginners' chase at Tipperary. Dahab and Shaool should not be underestimated either.
BOWMORE has shown a useful level of form over jumps and, despite falling in a Grade 3 chase last time, he's the most appealing on his first go on the Flat. Tribal Star is an obvious danger and Dahab will likely be on the premises.
Improvement from her debut run here can be expected from INTHESMALLHOURS, and she can reverse form with Tribal Star and Dahab

2nd (3) (9/2 -29%) Tudor Manor |
9/2(-29%) | (3) Tudor Manor 9/2, 2/1, career best when winning 9-runner handicap at this C&D 12 days ago, pushed out. Ought to be in the shake-up. Contributed to stable's good current form when scoring over C&D, good chance off new mark. |

20/1(-43%) | (5) Rockview Consort 20/1, Course winner. Respectable fifth of 10 in handicap (20/1) at this C&D 19 days ago. Not taken lightly. Has a solid overall record at this venue, signs of a return to her best last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (11/8 +39%) Enough Already |
11/8(+39%) | (1) Enough Already 11/8, 5/4, improved on recent efforts to win 12-runner handicap at this C&D 5 days ago. Scored cosily there so big shout under a 7 lb penalty with trainer going well. Has 7lb extra having justified favouritism with a smooth win last Friday, solid chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (5/1 +17%) Glyde Ranger |
5/1(+17%) | (8) Glyde Ranger 5/1, C&D winner. Latest win here in October. 11/4, good second of 10 in handicap at this C&D 19 days ago, nearest finish. Can go well again. Backed up 4l C&D win with good second off revised mark, one of the leading candidates. |

7th (4) (14/1 +0%) Dark Note |
14/1(+0%) | (4) Dark Note 14/1, 20/1, thirteenth of 15 in handicap hurdle at Navan (16.2f, good to soft) 11 days ago. Down in trip. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Merits consideration if shrugging off latest effort. Has been struggling over hurdles recently, cheekpieces tried, hard to be confident. |

80/1(-220%) | (10) Slowdownbarney 80/1, Respectable seventh of 12 in handicap at this course (10.7f, 22/1) 14 days ago. No forlorn hope. Some initial promise in maidens for Gavin Cromwell but has laboured so far in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (14/1 -17%) Warrior Lion |
14/1(-17%) | (6) Warrior Lion 14/1, 9/2, seventh of 10 in handicap at this C&D 19 days ago. Blinkers on 1st time. Huge price when a creditable second over C&D three starts back, below that form last twice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) (12/1 +52%) S'all Good Man |
12/1(+52%) | (2) S'all Good Man 12/1, C&D winner. Tongue strap on for 1st time, tenth of 13 in claimer at this course (8f, 66/1) 14 days ago. Significantly back up in trip. Chance if rediscovering old form. Two C&D wins when trained by Bill Farrell, no sign of his best form in three 2024 outings.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (12) (50/1 -52%) Key To Glory |
50/1(-52%) | (12) Key To Glory 50/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Sixth of 15 in maiden (80/1) at Gowran (9.4f, heavy) 37 days ago. Up in trip. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Makes handicap debut. Hard to fancy at these weights. Remote sixth of 15 at Gowran on third qualifying start, up in trip, cheekpieces added. |

GLYDE RANGER looks worthy of support in this handicap. He won in this grade, over course and distance, at the end of last month and followed up with a solid second in slightly higher company. The form of that race has been franked. Enough Already hacked up when dropped into the basement grade here last Friday, so he has to be respected running under the mandatory 7lb penalty. Robyn Donaghue-Leahy has partnered Tudor Manor to two victories and the duo ought to be well involved, while this is a marked step up in trip for Pepper Noir, who isn't out of it.
ENOUGH ALREADY still looks ahead of his mark under a 7 lb penalty for Friday's stylish C&D success so gets the verdict in this very competitive handicap. Course scorer Rockview Consort is next on the list, although Glyde Ranger, Tudor Manor and Pepper Noir can all have a say too.
An additional 6lb may not prevent TUDOR MANOR from adding to the C&D win achieved under this rider 12 days ago.
Ths is the racecard key.
