12:35 Southwell Handicap Chase (Class 5) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A comprehensive winner over an extended 2m6f at Leicester last week, NORTHERN REEL is flourishing for the in-form Olly Murphy and appeals strongly on her bid to follow up under a 7lb penalty. Having won a point-to-point over 3m, the selection has proven stamina and scope for progression over fences. Smurfette and Shesupincourt are the pick of the remainder, in that order of preference.

NORTHERN RELL arrives on an upward curve and a 7 lb penalty for her wide-margin Leicester success doesn't looks sufficient to prevent her from following up. Smurfette also comes here in great nick and appeals as the one to chase home Olly Murphy's mare ahead of C&D winner Eightytwo Team.

This will be more competitive than at Leicester last week but NORTHERN REEL won in good style and can get the better of Smurfette.

12:45 Tramore Maiden Hurdle 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

KARNIQUET is a half-brother to several jumps winners and was runner-up in both starts over hurdles in France early in the year. He went down by less than length on heavy ground at Auteuil when last seen in February and can make a winning start here for Willie Mullins. Point-to-point winner Downmexicoway disappointed when sent off favourite for a Punchestown Festival bumper last year but made an encouraging return from a layoff when narrowly beaten on his hurdling debut at Galway. Olympy De Cerisy, runner-up in three bumpers, was well held on hurdles debut on his penultimate start. Crescent Moon and Buckaway Freddie have also shown promise in bumpers and have place claims now starting off over flights.

KARNIQUET showed fairly useful form when runner-up in a pair of juvenile hurdles in France and is fancied to take a step forward now starting out with Willie Mullins and go one better. Henry de Bromhead's Downmexicoway rates a big threat though on the back of his promising Galway second, with hurdling debutantes Crescent Moon and Buckaway Freddie also worthy of consideration.

DOWNMEXICOWAY (nap) can gain compensation after going close on his hurdles debut at Galway last month

12:55 Sedgefield Novices Hurdle (Class 4) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

MR ESCOBAR will be the first of Willie Mullins' Closutton outfit to grace this track and he appeals as the one to beat. A useful sort on the Flat, he chased home a stablemate for second at Listowel on his latest start over hurdles. This race doesn't look as deep and any further improvement can see him go one better. Maghlaak was equally as useful on the level but he will need to leave a disappointing hurdling bow behind him, while the 107-rated Kingston Narcissus, twice a runner-up over this C&D, heads the remainder.

MR ESCOBAR is something of a ticking timebomb in terms of temperament but did little wrong when thwarted only by a stablemate at Listowel on his most recent outing in this sphere in September and sets a pretty high standard. Kingston Narcissus is likely to give his running once again, while Maghlaak should do better in this sphere at some stage given his fairly useful Flat form.

Willie Mullins' first Sedgefield runner MR ESCOBAR has his quirks but sets a clear standard on hurdling form.

13:05 Southwell Handicap Chase (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

JASMIN DE GRUGY was profitable to follow over hurdles earlier in the year and he completed a hat-trick in a highly-pleasing manner when last seen. Prepped for an autumn campaign over fences since then, this progressive son of Masked Marvel appears to have been found an ideal starting point for his introduction to chasing. Imperial Bede represents the same owner and also warrants consideration, while Great Samourai is notable back over this trip.

JASMIN DE GRUGY was most progressive in handicap hurdles this spring and remains one to keep on the right side of now going chasing. Onewayortother is worth another chance to build on his promising chase bow at Warwick so is next best ahead of Great Samourai.

Preference is for IMPERIAL BEDE (nap) who showed a return to form last time and is 6lb lower than when winning over C&D in February.

13:15 Tramore Maiden Hurdle 21f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

CAMAN EILEEN came back to form when third at Sligo and Kieran Callaghan's claim means that she only has to give 3lb to her rivals. A bumper winner at this venue last year, she was second on her hurdling debut at Roscommon in the summer and left behind a couple of moderate efforts when stepping up to 2m4f last time. A half-sister to a 2m4f hurdle winner, Nastya was bought for 50,000 pounds after winning a point-to-point in April and her trainer landed all three maiden hurdles at Punchestown over the weekend. Workinonadream had been consistent prior to a poor run when favourite at Sligo, while The Great Nudie shaped well in a couple of summer bumpers.

THE GREAT NUDIE shaped well both starts in bumpers following her emphatic maiden point success and, with the promise of better to come now faced with a stiffer test on this handicap debut, she could be the answer. Nastya, who was successful on the second of her two starts between the flags, is of strong interest, along with newcomer Sainte Tartare, who Paul Townend opts to ride instead of Caman Eileen. Millie B needs a second look given her strike rate in points.

The point winner NASTYA is preferred. She's proven on testing ground and she is sure to be well prepared for her racecourse debut.

13:25 Sedgefield Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

National Question pulled well clear with the runner-up when on target by a narrow margin at Hexham last time and he may have more to offer after a 5lb rise, but the vote goes to BATHGATE. Philip Kirby's charge has yet to truly shine in handicaps, but better was expected at Ayr recently. Eased a further 1lb in the handicap and dropped in trip, the four-year-old might be able to sustain his finishing effort now. Others to note include King Otis and Trafalgar Square.

TRAFALGAR SQUARE took his form up a notch with a recent C&D fourth and can now capitalise on a handy-looking mark on his first venture into handicap company. La Quarite started life well for his new stable when sixth at Newcastle and heads the list of dangers with King Otis, National Question, Bathgate and Lahire all in the mix too.

This can go to LAHIRE, who ran one of his best races since winning over C&D last year when fourth in a Kelso handicap last time.

13:40 Southwell Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 20f (See Speed Six0 Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

BROUGHSHANE, who went up 9lb after winning cosily over 2m3f at Fontwell last month, appeals back in trip after filling second over 3m at Ffos Las 16 days ago. The six-year-old has to be of interest as a result and a resumption of winning ways is feasible. The recent Warwick scorer Solar System appears the chief threat without a penalty for that success, while Asian Star and Red Panda are other notable contenders.

SOLAR SYTEM resumed his progress when going in at Warwick last week and is hard to oppose given he escapes a penalty for that conditional jockeys' success. Broughshane rates the main threat on the back of his very good Ffos Las second, with handicap-debutants Asian Star and The Blueberry One also worthy of consideration.

Unpenalised Solar System is high on the list but THE BLUEBERRY ONE is an interesting one now having his first go in a handicap.

13:50 Tramore Handicap Hurdle 21f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Heavy ground will hold no fears for four-time hurdles winner KILLINURE LASS, who stays further than this trip and reverts to the smaller obstacles after a couple of non-completions over fences. Runner-up in a chase here in August, she was poised to challenge when falling two out at Sligo and was running another decent race when exiting at the last at Gowran earlier this month. Onefortheditch has been consistent since recording back-to-back wins in the summer but heavy ground would have to be a concern for the in-form six-year-old. A maiden winner over C&D in April, Roxhill Roise has form on testing ground and made a pleasing return from a layoff when fifth on handicap debut at Gowran.

The vote goes to ONEFORTHEDITCH, who has done very little wrong this year and a 3 lb rise for her solid second at Limerick last week looks fair enough. Chase winner Garde La Peche remains unexposed and needs close consideration on her handicap debut in this sphere, while Grace Faraday will be a danger to all if ready to roll following a break. Roxhill Roise was successful over this C&D during the spring and also enters calculations.

A chance is taken on the fitness of the reappearing GRACE FARADAY, who handles these testing conditions

14:00 Sedgefield Handicap Chase (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

There has been no stopping CLEAN GETAWAY of late. A C&D winner over fences from 3lb lower in October, the son of Getaway has since recorded a brace of hurdling successes and there could be more to come. Mutual Respect completed a double in somewhat fortuitous fashion at Bangor last time out but he merits respect from 2lb higher nonetheless. Minella Youngy showed more at Hexham recently and is another to enter calculations from 6lb below his last winning mark.

AUGHARUE was headed only late on by a subsequent winner at Kelso last month and he looks ready to shed his maiden tag. Thriving pair Clean Getaway and Mutual Respect are the obvious threats.

The most obvious answer is bang-in-form 7yo CLEAN GETAWAY (nap), who has already collected three course wins this autumn.

14:10 Southwell Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

SERGEANT FURY was picked up for 38,000 pounds following an Irish point-to-point win in May before showing clear signs of promise on his Rules debut at Wincanton earlier this month. The son of Diamond Boy looks certain to relish a switch to hurdles and he gets the nod over Lawrenny, who hasn't been seen since winning at Newcastle in March but is returning with his yard in great form. Dinofromberlais and King Ulanda are others to consider.

LAWRENNY progressed with each run in bumpers and receives the vote to make a successful hurdling debut. King Ulanda and Sergeant Fury are a couple of potential threats.

They all finished in a bit of a heap at Wincanton but SERGEANT FURY should improve for hurdles and a truer pace.

14:20 Tramore Handicap Hurdle 21f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Three miles looked a bit far for THE DOONER CITIZEN when he ran respectably on his second handicap start at Clonmel last month. The lightly-raced six-year-old made late headway over 2m back in maiden company last time and this intermediate trip could suit. Beggars Rock was a beaten favourite when finishing ahead of the selection at Clonmel and was well beaten at Limerick last week when again at the head of the market. Dropping back in trip may help but he's unproven on testing ground. Rochestown is a dual course winner over fences who was runner-up on his most recent hurdles start. He is rated 11lb lower in this sphere and ran well first time out last season.

BEGGARS ROCK comes here in very good nick and looks the way to go here now he drops in trip off a lenient mark. The Dooner Citizen could emerge as the main threat back in handicap company, with Rochestown and Carrig Carol also in the mix.

ROCHESTOWN goes well fresh, has won twice here over fences, handles testing ground and is rated 11lb lower over hurdles

14:30 Sedgefield Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

LASER FOCUS arrives here on the back of two impressive victories earlier in the month and the progressive six-year-old is hard to oppose, despite being 20lb higher than when successful at Fakenham last time. Harper Valley hit the crossbar at Kelso a couple of weeks ago and could prove to be the main threat to the selection. Others to note are Knacker Trapper and Punxsutawney Phil.

The vote goes to HARPER VALLEY, who landed this race last year and looks poised for a repeat following his recent near miss at Kelso. Knacker Trapper's turn also appears near judged on his solid placed efforts the last twice, while the hat-trick seeking Laser Focus has to be feared. Salsada is not the easiest to predict but she will have a serious chance if on-song.

Laser Focus is in superb form but HARPER VALLEY might win this race for the second year running.

ROCKOLA made a pleasing return over 2m Southwell last month and this step up in trip is likely to suit. From an opening mark of 91, Alan King's filly is expected to take a step forward. Elle Est Beau wasn't always the most consistent last season but she may show more in first-time cheekpieces, while Coco Brave is capable of improvement on her handicap bow.

This represents a welcome drop in class for ELLE EST BEAU on her return to action and given the yard she represents, fitness won't be a concern. She looks the answer, ahead of Well Done Dani and Rockola.

A chance is taken on a refreshed ELLE EST BEAU, who was perhaps remembering her Sandown fall when only sixth in her last two races.

14:50 Tramore Maiden Chase 22f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

The Gavin Cromwell-trained JOUSTER can strike on what is only his second career start over fences. Runner-up at this track on his introduction to chasing last month, the lightly-raced five-year-old should be all the better for that experience. With his trainer continuing to be amongst the winners, the son of Gris De Gris looks the one to beat. Pipers Boreen, who finished third in a handicap chase at Galway on her fencing debut, should have benefitted from that initial outing, while New Barn Lane's third at Wexford last month gives him a chance of being in the mix.

PIPERS BOREEN matched the pick of her hurdles form sent chasing after 7 months off when a close third at Galway and shades the vote over New Bar Lane, who's getting the hang of things over fences now. Jouster is another to consider having made a promising start in this sphere when second here on return.

It could be wise to side with those with chasing experience, PIPERS BOREEN being preferred to Jouster and The Great Unknown

15:00 Sedgefield Handicap Chase (Class 5) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Bebside Banter beat The Paddy Pie into second over C&D three weeks ago and both are likely to be in the mix once again. That said, preference is for PEP TALKING, who bounced back to form on his second start for this yard when scoring over 2m4f at Uttoxeter at the beginning of the month. A 5lb rise for that win appears to be fair as he may have more improvement to come.

PEP TALKING raised his game when scoring on second start for this yard at Uttoxeter and looks capable of going in again off this 5 lb higher mark. He won't have things all his own way, though, as Bebside Banter is carving out a reputation as something of a course specialist (form figures over fences here read 1121). Kicksaftersix has been knocking on the door and he is third choice ahead of The Paddy Pie, who was second to Bebside Banter over C&D last time, and top-weight Tom Creen.

The vote goes to TOM CREEN, who ran well when third here last time and overall has a good record on this track.

15:10 Southwell Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

NEIGH BOTHA drops in grade and, having won over the chase course here the last time he contested a class 5 handicap, a bold showing is expected as he bids to break his duck over hurdles. With most of the remainder struggling for form, perhaps Window Of Time can figure prominently given that she gets a three-year-old allowance. Illucidate and Northern Rose complete the shortlist.

Given his solid form on the Flat this year, EARLY MORNING DEW is of strong interest returned to this sphere off a very attractive mark. He gets the nod but there are several who could leave their previous form well behind now handicapping, not least Window of Time, who is second choice. No No Espresso, Tarbaan and Runaway Train (in order of preference) all fall into that category, while top-weight Neigh Botha also needs a mention.

The vote goes to the topweight NEIGH BOTHA. Normally seen over fences these days, he drops to this grade for the very first time.

15:20 Tramore Handicap Chase 22f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

A dual winner over hurdles, the Colm Murphy-trained TANGENTAL is unquestionably well handicapped over fences. However, aside from a promising third at Down Royal in April, the eight-year-old has yet to replicate that form since going chasing. Returning here off the back of a summer break, the gelding is worth another chance to show what he is capable of. Plain Or Battered has to be of interest on what is only his second start over fences. The Philip Rothwell-trained gelding, who is rated higher over hurdles, was placed in a hunter chase before falling early on his only subsequent chase outing. Top-weight Ishan looks very well treated in this discipline but may just prefer a stiffer stamina test.

PLAIN OR BATTERED didn't last long on his chase bow in March but he's potentially well handicapped reverted to fences given what he's achieved over hurdles since. Ishan is open to significant improvement in this sphere given his subsequent exploits over hurdles so rates the main threat ahead of Bite That, who continues to knock on the door.

A much improved hurdler ISHAN looks very well in here back chasing and has his ground, although lacks a recent run

15:30 Sedgefield NH Flat Race (Class 5) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SNAPAUDACIAHEROS confirmed the promise that she displayed on debut when finishing second in a Southwell bumper on her latest outing in June. If finding any further improvement, the four-year-old could be hard to beat in this company. However, Moonbow has to be of interest having won between the flags earlier in the year, while Is That Alright and Old Blue Eyes are others to note.

The market will be revealing but OLD BLUE EYES is a half-brother to a dual-bumper winner for the same connections so a winning debut at this sort of level would come as no surprise. Moonbow and Sweetlikechocolate displayed ability in points so they need considering, along with Snapaudaciaheros.

It could be worth taking a chance on the well-bred OLD BLUE EYES making a winning debut with Is That Alright another to consider.

15:40 Southwell Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

After a brace of chase wins over 3m at Fakenham, LUNAR CONTACT is an attractive proposition back over hurdles from the same mark as the latest of those two dominant displays. Callum Pritchard retains the ride and switching back to timber looks a canny move by connections. Sedgefield winner Topkapi Star heads the list of dangers, although Bergentown and Mrs Tabitha should also be competitive.

LUNAR CONTACT escapes a penalty for last week's easy Fakenham win and assuming he's as effective over hurdles, he'll take plenty of stopping. Topkapi Star and Getaway With You look to be the chief threats.

Most of these have a lot to prove but LUNAR CONTACT has looked on very good terms with himself over fences.

15:50 Tramore NH Flat Race 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Runner-up on his only point-to-point start, SORTUDO can make a winning debut under Rules. Having his first outing for champion trainer Willie Mullins, the four-year-old should be primed for this contest at a track where his stable do particularly well. Leading amateur jockey Jody Townend is also a big positive in a race of this nature. The Philip Fenton-trained Kared'as De Cougny sets the standard amongst those that have already raced on the track. Second over course and distance last month, he should have benefitted from that experience. Aine O'Connor is a significant booking on the Jimmy Mangan trained Kates Choice. The Soldier Of Fortune filly finished fifth at Wexford on her sole start to date.

Willie Mullins saddles 2 and unless the market strongly suggests otherwise, SORTUDO is taken to go one place better than he did in his point. Runcok will surely show more this time, while Bossing It also makes some appeal on pedigree.

The Jody Townend/Willie Mullins combination have won this race in two of the last three years and may do so again with SORTUDO
