1st (3) (4/11 +60%) You Some Girl |
4/11(+60%) | (3) You Some Girl 4/11, Finally got off the mark as a hurdler in 3m Newcastle handicap last week, hard to believe it took her so long given the way she won, no inkling of her getting out of it after she scythed through the field under this rider. Good chance under penalty having landed a bumper here. Drew clear to win quite stylishly at Newcastle last week; obvious contender here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (4/1 -45%) Planet Legend |
4/1(-45%) | (1) Planet Legend 4/1, Placed in 3 handicaps in a row at around this trip this year, finding only one too good back from a break at Worcester in September. Folded as though amiss at Huntingdon since, but clear shout if shrugging that off, and expected to kick on in front. Ran poorly last month but has strong claims if judged on earlier Worcester second. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (16/1 -113%) Balkotic |
16/1(-113%) | (4) Balkotic 16/1, Modest handicap hurdler, last win came in this in 2022 while he was third last year. More needed. Won this in 2022 but no joy since, and has been out of form this autumn. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|S| (2) (10/1 -100%) Captain Potter |
10/1(-100%) | (2) Captain Potter 10/1, Hurdles winner for yard at the start of the year and also opened account on the level in 2m handicap here last month. Needs more from this mark. Won 2m4f maiden hurdle in January but a couple of the others appeal more here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
YOU SOME GIRL readily took care of her nearest rival by over four lengths at Newcastle last week and now has a 7lb penalty to carry for that triumph. If the daughter of Dylan Thomas can back that performance up, she will prove very difficult to beat. Planet Legend ran too bad to be true when pulling up at Huntingdon last month and is a player based on his second at Worcester prior to that. Captain Potter can beat Balkotic home for third.
YOU SOME GIRL isn't straightforward but won well at Newcastle under Charlie Maggs last week and can follow up under a penalty if in the same form. Planet Legend might be the danger.
You Some Girl looked in excellent nick at Newcastle last week but it might pay to oppose her with PLANET LEGEND.

1st (5) (2/1 +20%) Moylussa |
2/1(+20%) | (5) Moylussa 2/1, 16/1, first run since leaving T. Hogan when fifth of 7 in novice hurdle at Galway (21.4f, heavy) 26 days ago. Down in trip. Good chance on form of his fourth over further here in the summer. Maiden hurdle form over further a cut above most of these; looks the likeliest winner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (11) (2/1 +33%) French Hill |
2/1(+33%) | (11) French Hill 2/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Tenth of 14 in novice hurdle at Fairyhouse (20.3f, heavy, 33/1) on hurdles bow 10 months ago. First run for yard after leaving Denis Hogan. May well do better returning for another new stable. Showed promise in a mares' bumper at Galway last October; first run for Gavin Cromwell. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (9/1 -80%) Happy Me |
9/1(-80%) | (2) Happy Me 9/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 50/1, seventh of 17 in juvenile hurdle at Cork (17.3f, good) 6 months ago. Looks capable of getting involved in such a weak race if handling the likely soft ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (28/1 -273%) Catchabird |
28/1(-273%) | (7) Catchabird 28/1, Seventh of 18 in novice hurdle (150/1) at Limerick (16f, heavy) 13 months ago. First run for yard after leaving W. J. Burke. Debuts for a new yard here and could get involved if fit enough to do herself justice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (16/1 -33%) Finnicky Filly |
16/1(-33%) | (10) Finnicky Filly 16/1, 12/1, eighth of 11 in novice hurdle at Tramore (16f, good to soft) 43 days ago. Going the wrong way. Good run on hurdling debut when fourth here in May; well below that level since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (8/1 -33%) Couldntmakeitup |
8/1(-33%) | (1) Couldntmakeitup 8/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 33/1, fifth of 7 in bumper at Punchestown (16.3f, good) 37 days ago, making effort earlier than ideal. Makes hurdles debut in a very weak race. Glimpses of form in a couple of bumpers; hurdles debut and not without a chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (80/1 -100%) Rorkes Drift |
80/1(-100%) | (6) Rorkes Drift 80/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 125/1, fourteenth of 17 in novice hurdle at Limerick (16.3f, good to soft) 34 days ago. Soundly beaten on all three starts, major improvement required. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (50/1 -150%) Isthereonemoreinme |
50/1(-150%) | (3) Isthereonemoreinme 50/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 250/1, tenth of 11 in novice hurdle at Naas (16f, good to soft) 12 days ago. Jumping issues have been evident, little to suggest he can feature. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (8/1 +68%) Cullig |
8/1(+68%) | (9) Cullig 8/1, Thrice-raced maiden under NH rules. 250/1, thirteenth of 19 in novice hurdle at this course (20f, good to soft) on hurdles bow 7 months ago. Showed ability in a Galway bumper; this is by far the weakest contest she has competed in. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (13) (22/1 -83%) Shing Shilla |
22/1(-83%) | (13) Shing Shilla 22/1, Unreliable individual. Below form seventh of 15 in novice hurdle (100/1) at Clonmel (19.5f, good to soft) 29 days ago. Reluctant to race last twice; has the ability to be a factor but clearly risks involved.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (12) (33/1 +0%) Light Of Life |
33/1(+0%) | (12) Light Of Life 33/1, Poor hurdler. Unseated rider in novice hurdle (200/1) at Gowran (16f, good to soft) 13 days ago. Promise in a Cork bumper in 2022 but shown nothing since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (33/1 +18%) Mega Speculator |
33/1(+18%) | (4) Mega Speculator 33/1, Sixth of 9 in hurdle (200/1) at Clonmel (19.2f, good to soft) 15 days ago. Failed to complete in three points and shown very little under rules so far. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (50/1 -25%) Cullagh West |
50/1(-25%) | (8) Cullagh West 50/1, Last of 6 in bumper at Clonmel (16.8f, good, 100/1) on return 50 days ago. Has shown little in three starts apart from not being straightforward; makes no appeal. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
These are often not the easiest contests to work out and MOYLUSSA may prove the pick having shown some solid enough form. The Jukebox Jury gelding was a well-beaten fifth in a strong contest at Galway last time, but his run here in July would make him a big player. He wasn't beaten far when fourth to Secrecies Of Stone then. Couldntmakeitup ran well for a long way in a winners' bumper at Punchestown last month and he could be a contender now in this grade on his jumping debut. Gavin Cromwell runs the well-bred French Hill and she may do better now in this company.
A poor maiden and FRENCH HILL could be worth chancing starting out for another new yard. She's related to above-average jumpers and won't find many easier openings. Moylussa's best run came here in the summer and he's an obvious player. Couldntmakeitup might also be a player on his hurdles debut.
A sporting selection goes to FINNICKY FILLY who's best effort came over C&D back in May

1st (1) (10/11 +60%) First Confession |
10/11(+60%) | (1) First Confession 10/11, Bought for £140,000 after winning sole outing in points and made a highly encouraging hurdling debut when third in 8-runner novice at Cheltenham (19.9f) 4 weeks ago. Open to significant improvement. Point winner; well-beaten 3rd on hurdle debut at Cheltenham but it was a hot race; player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (13/2 -95%) Oak Grove |
13/2(-95%) | (3) Oak Grove 13/2, Expensive purchase after winning his second start in points and he showed promise in 2 bumpers last season. Type to do well over hurdles but this is a tough starting point. Point winner; promise in bumpers; improvement needed but the step up in trip can help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (6/4 -36%) Milan Tino |
6/4(-36%) | (4) Milan Tino 6/4, Placed in listed and Grade 2 events at Auteuil earlier in his career and by no means disgraced when third to Sir Gino in a Grade 2 juvenile at Cheltenham in January. Below form both completed starts since, including in Group 3 back at Auteuil last month, but still sets a good standard. May have needed latest run; leading claims on last season's Grade 2 juvenile form. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
MILAN TINO will find this easier than the Grade 3 events he contested in France last month. The son of Milan is still of low mileage and having finished a respectable sixth when sent off favourite for the Boodles at the Cheltenham Festival when last seen on these shores, could be hard to beat at this level. With both Oak Grove and Marvellous Mick needing to find improvement, the promising First Confession may be the biggest threat to the selection.
FIRST CONFESSION made a highly promising start over hurdles in a field of previous winners at Cheltenham last month and, open to oodles of improvement, he can make his second outing in this sphere a winning one. Milan Tino sets the standard on the pick of his form and is the obvious danger.
Point winner FIRST CONFESSION showed promise in a hot novice hurdle at Cheltenham last month and is taken to score.

1st (8) (4/5 +100%) The Bluesman |
4/5(+100%) | (8) The Bluesman 4/5, Expensive recruit from points and made short work of 3 rivals second time up in bumpers here 7 months ago. Has had a breathing operation since and good prospect for hurdling. Course bumper winner who is likely to make his make over hurdles sooner rather than later. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (15) (50/1 -52%) Western Article |
50/1(-52%) | (15) Western Article 50/1, £20,000 purchase in the spring after finishing second in an Irish point on debut, was sent off at long odds but showed ability switched to hurdling at Exeter (66/1) 4 weeks ago. Shaped well before fading into fourth on last month's hurdle debut at Exeter; e-w claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (12/1 +52%) Prophesea |
12/1(+52%) | (6) Prophesea 12/1, Successful pointer who made a winning debut under Rules in an Exeter bumper in April. Shaped as if needing the run on hurdles debut for new yard over C&D 3 weeks ago and should improve. Unable to justify good market support when soundly beaten over C&D on stable/hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (8/1 -7%) Murphy's Milan |
8/1(-7%) | (4) Murphy's Milan 8/1, Bred to stay well and plenty of promise in Exeter bumper and good C&D novice hurdle 6 months apart. Can surely win races, especially when upped in trip. Made promising hurdle debut when fourth over C&D last month; considered each-way. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (7/1 -75%) Seatoit |
7/1(-75%) | (7) Seatoit 7/1, Reached the frame in 2 Irish bumpers at the end of last year and having changed hands for £120,000 in January, shaped as if needing the run at Cheltenham starting out for Kim Bailey (sent off favourite). One to note now hurdling, bred to stay well. Disappointed on recent stable debut but looked very promising in Irish bumpers last year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (33/1 +0%) Far From Over |
33/1(+0%) | (2) Far From Over 33/1, £4,250 3-y-o, Valirann gelding. Dam, unraced, closely related to fair 21f hurdle winner Once And Always. Dual point winner, third latest start in May 2023. Work to do on hurdles debut. Dual point winner; has a future under rules but makes hurdle debut after long layoff. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (9/2 -29%) Espoir Des Forges |
9/2(-29%) | (1) Espoir Des Forges 9/2, Made a very promising start over hurdles in 19f Warwick maidens in the spring, finding only a Willie Mullins-trained rival who'd taken in such races as a Greatwood and Betfair Hurdle too good when last seen. Should go well on return. Placed in pair of 2m3f Warwick maidens in the spring; probably won't be far away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (12) (80/1 -300%) English Willow |
80/1(-300%) | (12) English Willow 80/1, Telescope mare. Half-sister to bumper winner/modest hurdler Little Else. Dam 2m-2¾m hurdle/chase winner. One to note on debut given pedigree and connections (1 of 2 runners for yard). Out of a fair hurdle/chase winner for these connections; makes her debut here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (150/1 -127%) Following Chapter |
150/1(-127%) | (10) Following Chapter 150/1, Pether's Moon gelding. Dam, multiple point winner, sister to fairly useful chaser (barely stayed 3½m) Following Dreams. First foal from a three-time point winner; seems unlikely to meet the standard required. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (3) (200/1 -400%) Grand Sabre |
200/1(-400%) | (3) Grand Sabre 200/1, Well held in Newbury bumpers and 2m Sandown novice hurdle. Can only be watched on return. Well beaten on hurdle debut at Sandown in February; moves up from 2m today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (5) (40/1 -150%) Nube De Trueno |
40/1(-150%) | (5) Nube De Trueno 40/1, Flemensfirth gelding out of a useful hurdler. Of interest on debut for leading yard. Newcomer; out of a smart Irish hurdler; interesting to see how he fares. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (9) (200/1 -33%) Devon Blue |
200/1(-33%) | (9) Devon Blue 200/1, 17/2, well held in Taunton bumper for Victor Dartnall in February. Tailed off in soft-ground Taunton bumper for Victor Dartnall in February; hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (250/1 -67%) Bestgetgoing |
250/1(-67%) | (11) Bestgetgoing 250/1, No show in bumper/novice hurdles. A well-beaten outsider on both hurdling starts this autumn; moves up from 2m today. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
The Bluesman ended last season in bumpers with a dominant display at this venue. Paul Nicholls' charge scored by 14 lengths that day and he must enter calculations on his hurdles bow. However, ESPOIR DES FORGES has hit the frame on both appearances over timber and that experience could prove crucial. Seatoit is another who is making his first appearance over the smaller obstacles and it will be interesting to see if his supporters return after a slightly underwhelming 10th at Cheltenham last month.
THE BLUESMAN won a 4-runner bumper here when last seen in April and looks a good hurdles prospect for Paul Nicholls. He's preferred to Espoir des Forges and Nube de Trueno in a maiden where the betting could be revealing.
The Bluesman is respected but SEATOIT is taken to deliver on promise shown in Irish bumpers last year.

16/1(-300%) | (5) Game Management 16/1, Fair 1m scorer for Kevin Ryan on the level in September. Possibilities going hurdling now for new stable. 1m winner on Flat for Kevin Ryan; now makes hurdling/stable debut and market should guide. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (66/1 -65%) Sweet Soul Music |
66/1(-65%) | (8) Sweet Soul Music 66/1, Poor Flat maiden who has shown similar form in a pair of Sedgefield juvenile hurdles this autumn. Lots more is required with visor added. Well held in both hurdle runs this autumn and needs a transformation with visor added. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (10/3 +49%) Battle Of Omdurman |
10/3(+49%) | (1) Battle Of Omdurman 10/3, Fair maiden on the Flar who made a winning start over hurdles for current yard at Stratford (2m) in July. Matched that form when second under a penalty at Uttoxeter but has run poorly twice since. Something to prove. Stratford winner who had a tough task behind a top juvenile last time; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (14/1 -155%) Normandy Legend |
14/1(-155%) | (7) Normandy Legend 14/1, A fair 1m Flat maiden for James Ferguson. Changed hands for 20,000 gns in July and posted an encouraging third of 5 in Ludlow juvenile hurdle 15 days ago. Considered. Seven-race maiden under both codes and he has a very patchy record; down the list. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (3) (11/8 +31%) Character Testing |
11/8(+31%) | (3) Character Testing 11/8, Fair scorer on the Flat up to 10f for Tom Clover. Left that yard for £9,000 and matched that form over hurdles when second of 6 in juvenile at Warwick 17 days ago. Holds leading form claims. Finished well to go close at Warwick and has leading claims on that form; key player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (6) (5/2 +62%) Maple |
5/2(+62%) | (6) Maple 5/2, Modest at up to 1m on the Flat for Sir Michael Stoute. New connections acquired him for 11,000 gns in July and he has shown a fair bit in juvenile hurdles at Sedgefield and Wetherby this autumn. In the mix. Some promise over hurdles so far but he needs improvement here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (22/1 -83%) Alfie Boy |
22/1(-83%) | (2) Alfie Boy 22/1, A fair 7f winner on the Flat who comes here fit and needs considering starting out in this sphere. Sole Flat win was over 7f and not sure he'll have the stamina for hurdling; best watched. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
CHARACTER TESTING produced his best effort over hurdles when hitting the woodwork at Warwick earlier in the month and that form reads well in the context of this race. Tom Ellis' three-year-old might not need to improve in order to get off the mark. Battle Of Omdurman finished a well-beaten fourth at Wincanton last month but it would be no surprise to see him get involved in this weak event. Maple completes the shortlist.
CHARACTER TESTING possesses the best form on show so this fair Flat winner is taken to open his account in this sphere. Normandy Legend and Maple are the dangers.
The vote goes to CHARACTER TESTING, who has leading claims on his close call at Warwick two weeks ago and is open to more progress.

Good chance if in the same sort of form back over hurdles. Back over flights and the drop in trip looks like a negative but respected nonetheless. |

10/1(+0%) | (18) Duffys Hodey 10/1, Good fifth of 15 in handicap hurdle (7/1) at Cork (16f, heavy) 7 months ago. Respectable efforts in a pair of handicap hurdles at Clonmel and Cork in the spring. |

Not without interest starting out for new yard and a market move would be significant. With a top yard now but best watched after 13 months off and considering his form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (16/1 -113%) Mahlers Cove |
16/1(-113%) | (5) Mahlers Cove 16/1, Twelve runs since last win in 2023. Bit below form fifth of 9 in handicap chase (16/5) at Limerick (17.7f, good) 6 months ago. Switches from chase to hurdles. Consistent over hurdles and fences last spring; likely to come on for whatever he does. |

16/1(+20%) | (15) Joeswayornoway 16/1, Unreliable sort. Two wins from 45 NH runs. Sixteen runs since last win in 2022. 12/1, bit below form sixth of 15 in handicap hurdle at Gowran (19.8f, good to soft) 13 days ago. Visor back on. Ran okay in a mares handicap at Gowran two weeks ago; chance on her best form. |

50/1(+0%) | (16) Grivei 50/1, Pulled up in handicap chase (50/1) at Galway (22.5f, heavy) on debut over fences 26 days ago. Back down in trip. Runner-up in a bumper for Willie Mullins in January 2022 but has gone backwards since. |

SCEPTRED ISLE is interesting here on her return to jumping. The Cityscape mare had a good campaign on the Flat this year for George Kingston, winning twice, and handles soft ground. She was a cosy winner at this venue back in late May in testing conditions and could be nicely treated back over timber having been an improver on the level. Irish Impulse came good over fences at Clonmel just over two weeks ago and switches back to hurdles off a 6lb lower mark. Mahlers Cove was knocking on the door earlier in the year and could be place material on his return.
IRISH IMPULSE proved a totally different proposition in a first-time tongue strap when running out an easy winner of a Clonmel handicap chase a fortnight ago and can follow up if the headgear works as well back over hurdles. Go Gill Go is a player, while Gavin Cromwell's pair Shantou Princess and My Good Pal, for whom market support would be very significant, also need respecting.
After the progress she showed on the Flat this year, SCEPTRED ISLE (nap) could hardly be better handicapped and she really should win

1st (5) (7/2 +75%) Bucksy Des Epeires |
7/2(+75%) | (5) Bucksy Des Epeires 7/2, Fairly useful handicap hurdler who made a successful return at Lingfield a year ago. Good second at Ludlow when last seen and very much the type to do better over fences, though this might be a tough starting point. 5yo who is from a good French chasing family and could improve for fences; one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (5/2 +44%) Rare Edition |
5/2(+44%) | (2) Rare Edition 5/2, Continued his good record fresh when making successful start over fences in 2m Uttoxeter novice on return 7 weeks ago. Switches to handicaps up in trip now and more to come. Won on last month's chase debut at Uttoxeter; could have more to offer over fences; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (11/8 +61%) Bad |
11/8(+61%) | (4) Bad 11/8, Fairly useful handicap hurdler, sometimes a weak finisher but often running well here. Produced a promising first effort over fences over C&D 3 weeks ago, making the winner work. Up 3 lb and should improve. 0-9 in Britain but may have bumped into smart prospect when second over C&D on chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (6/1 +33%) Riskintheground |
6/1(+33%) | (3) Riskintheground 6/1, Much improved over fences since dropped back in trip, bagging his fourth success at Bangor in September. Found 25f in the Badger Beer handicap too much a fortnight ago and this is a bit easier. 4 chase wins this term; failed to stay 3m in Badger Beer; could put experience to good use. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
A Grade 2 winner over hurdles at Cheltenham before possibly running too keenly in the Albert Bartlett at the Festival in March, GIDLEIGH PARK carries huge potential now he switches to fences and Harry Fry's smart prospect can make a big impact here. Bad has to be feared after his promising C&D second, while Rare Edition and Bucksy Des Epeires are also unexposed in this discipline and betting support would be noteworthy.
GIDLEIGH PARK is one of the most exciting chase prospects in the UK and can make a successful start over fences off what might be a very lenient mark. It could be close for the forecast, with Bad, given his good Ascot record, narrowly preferred.
An intriguing little race and a case can be made for all of them. BAD was a clear second over C&D on chase debut and can go one better.

1st (1) (4/1 -33%) Ryan's Rocket |
4/1(-33%) | (1) Ryan's Rocket 4/1, £110,000 Irish point winner who has made a very bright start over hurdles, winning novices around 2m at Taunton and Kempton in the spring. Disappointed when fourth in Grade 2 Persian War here on return last month but he remains a good prospect now chasing/stepping back in trip. Won Irish point in 2022 and two 2m novice hurdles in the spring; handicap/chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (9/1 -6%) Lucky Lugger |
9/1(-6%) | (7) Lucky Lugger 9/1, Standout effort over hurdles came when third in a C&D maiden in April. Easy to back, ran well on first try chasing when second of 5 in C&D novices' handicap 16 days ago, clear of remainder. Feasible to think he can do better again in this sphere. Improved on very modest form when 2nd in a C&D novice handicap chase latest; can improve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (9/2 -29%) Western General |
9/2(-29%) | (2) Western General 9/2, Hurdles winner who confirmed previous chase promise and more following wind op/6 months off when readily taking 7-runner Newton Abbot handicap (16.3f) 23 days ago. This undoubtedly rates tougher but he remains with potential to progress further in this sphere. Won in good style at Newton Abbot back from break; 8lb higher mark may not be excessive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (7/2 +22%) Hasthing |
7/2(+22%) | (3) Hasthing 7/2, Smart in bumpers and bright start over hurdles last winter, winning first 2 starts in novice company. Well backed, could only manage sixth in EBF Final on handicap debut at Sandown (19.8f) in March but overall profile suggests he's one to be interested in now chasing on return. Won two hurdles at 2m4f last winter; 2m a minimum but has handicap potential now chasing. |

5th (4) (11/4 +21%) Just Over Land |
11/4(+21%) | (4) Just Over Land 11/4, Consistent sort over hurdles last season and bright start in this sphere after 6 months off when second of 8 in handicap at Ffos Las (2m) 6 weeks ago. Likely improver with that under his belt and he looks sure to give another good account. Hurdle winner who took well to fences when 2nd at Ffos Las (2m); can achieve more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (25/1 -39%) Gris Majeur |
25/1(-39%) | (5) Gris Majeur 25/1, Point/bumper winner who capitalised on falling mark when registering a third career success over hurdles at Hereford (21.7f) in October. Not in same form when fourth at Warwick 17 days ago and this looks a hot enough chase introduction. Irish point winner; three 2m5f hurdle wins; lesser effort latest; chase debut back at 2m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (28/1 -100%) Jackpot Cash |
28/1(-100%) | (8) Jackpot Cash 28/1, Cokoriko gelding. Not without promise in 2 of his 4 starts over hurdles, equipped with a first-time hood when fourth of 13 in a Southwell maiden (15.8f) back in May. Interesting connections make a quick switch to chasing for handicap debut and the betting should guide. In the frame in 3 of 4 hurdles; first handicap/chase; likely that easier options await. |

|PU| (6) (40/1 -60%) Rangatira Jack |
40/1(-60%) | (6) Rangatira Jack 40/1, Fair form without tasting success in novice/maiden hurdles last season. Well-beaten on return in a Wincanton maiden (15.2f) 26 days ago and others more persuasive now attentions switch to larger obstacles. Showed ability in maiden hurdles; well held latest; tricky start to handicap/chase career. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Although disappointing when finishing a well-beaten fourth in the Persian War here last month, RYAN'S ROCKET appeared too keen for the extended 2m3f distance. The six-year-old previously completed a double over hurdles, which worked out well, and a mark of 121 on his chase debut could prove fruitful, more so reverting to 2m. Western General warrants respect racing off 8lb higher than his victory at Newton Abbot 23 days ago and he may serve the most resistance to the selection, ahead of Just Over Land.
An interesting novices' handicap chase with a host boasting potential. RYAN'S ROCKET ran below his previous hurdles best in a Grade 2 here in October but he'd previously looked a good prospect when twice successful in the spring and, as a former point winner, he could yet get back on the up now chasing. Just Over Land, Western General and another chase debutant Hasthing are others well worthy of consideration.
Western General looked good at Newton Abbot but it's worth chancing HASTHING to make a winning start to his chase career.

1st (3) (11/10 +20%) Imperial Rule |
11/10(+20%) | (3) Imperial Rule 11/10, Much improved sent chasing/handicapping when scoring impressively at Perth in May and left a couple of dismal efforts behind after 4 months off when doubling his tally at Sedgefield (19.3f, good) recently, forging clear after leading last. Remains lightly raced so can follow up from 6 lb higher. Made it 2-4 over fences when scoring at Sedgefield and he's respected off 6lb higher. |

2nd (5) (10/11 +44%) Suitably Surprised |
10/11(+44%) | (5) Suitably Surprised 10/11, Improver in handicaps, landing a conditional jockeys' race at Sedgefield (17f, good) last week before following up at Leicester (15.5f, good to soft) 4 days ago. Was a runner-up on her last start in Irish points so every chance she will continue her progress now sent chasing. Won over hurdles last twice and is on same mark as last time; big player on chase debut. |

3rd (6) (40/1 +20%) Pure Surf |
40/1(+20%) | (6) Pure Surf 40/1, Twice successful over hurdles for Iain Jardine but big prices and no impact all 4 starts under Rules for present yard. Returns in a change of headgear and tough to see her getting involved. Has generally struggled in points and handicap chases this year; lots to prove. |

4th (2) (18/1 +45%) Hazard Collonges |
18/1(+45%) | (2) Hazard Collonges 18/1, Would have every chance if reproducing something akin to 2022 form for Alan King but ran poorly in a hunter chase in March. Failed to complete in a couple of points since and was well held on his debut for another new yard at Huntingdon (19.9f, good) recently. Longstanding maiden who has struggled in the last 24 months and can only be watched.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Suitably Surprised successfully completed a double over 2m at Leicester four days ago and should mount a bold bid. However, she will need to transfer that form to fences and IMPERIAL RULE gets the nod as a result. Rebecca Menzies' seven-year-old regained the winning thread in smart style in a stronger event than this at Sedgefield last time and a 6lb rise might be lenient. Just Gino is the pick of the remainder.
IMPERIAL RULE was a poignant winner at Sedgefield earlier in the month and Rebecca Menzies' 7-y-o gets the verdict to follow up with not many miles on the clock at the expense of progressive hurdler Suitably Surprised, who made it 2 wins in 4 days at Leicester on Monday and can continue her good work switched to the larger obstacles. Just Gino is starting to look a disappointment considering his cost but can fill out third here.
Hat-trick seeker Suitably Surprised is respected on her chase debut but preference is for IMPERIAL RULE, who is 2-4 in this sphere.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
It looked like a decent bumper that JAZZ DE COTTE won in Ayr back in April and he may be able to make a winning start over hurdles, despite giving weight away to a couple of principal rivals. The French-bred beat previous winner Thistle Be The One then and the third horse, Califet En Vol, was an impressive winner over hurdles at Kempton recently. The Willie Mullins-trained Gorvitho is obviously one to note on his Irish debut. The No Risk At All gelding was runner-up on his sole start on the level in France. Taponthego ran well when chasing home Fleur In The Park at Wexford and is another for the shortlist.
JAZZ DE COTTE is an exciting hurdling prospect and can make a winning start. Taponthego was a promising second at Wexford and seems sure to improve up in trip. Ballysax Hank should be winning races over hurdles before long, while Gorvitho is an obvious contender on debut for Willie Mullins.
Preference is for TAPONTHEGO, a good second to a decent horse at Wexford, with the extra trip and possibly the softer ground a plus

Up to making his mark in this stronger company on that evidence. Two-time bumper winner; won easily on hurdle debut and he's a leading candidate today. |

10/3(-52%) | (6) Joyeuse 10/3, A half-sister to Champion Hurdle winner Epatante who landed a French maiden bumper in 2022. Changed hands for €235,000 thereafter and made light of 15-month absence when winning 14-runner novice hurdle at Taunton (16.5f) in January. Exciting prospect for this campaign. Won maiden hurdle at Taunton in January and that form has worked out very well. |

4th (2) (15/2 +12%) Nothing To Sea |
15/2(+12%) | (2) Nothing To Sea 15/2, Progressive 2-time winner on Flat for Ralph Beckett (stays 2m). Perfect start sent hurdling for new yard with hood/tongue tie fitted, landing 4-y-o event at Compiegne (17.9f, heavy) in October. Good prospect with progress anticipated. Very useful in light Flat career and 1-1 over hurdles; could be up to this tougher task. |

250/1(-213%) | (7) Kenmya 250/1, A fair 5-time winner on Flat in France (stays 10f) but easy to back and offered little after 15 months off when ninth of 10 in novice hurdle at Uttoxeter (15.8f, good to soft) on yard debut 21 days ago. Stable look to hold much stronger claims with Royal Infantry. Five-time French Flat winner but at ordinary level; tailed off on recent hurdle debut. |

6th (5) (300/1 -140%) Kingston Bresil |
300/1(-140%) | (5) Kingston Bresil 300/1, Not without promise in pair of bumpers but didn't offer much short-term promise (on back of wind surgery) when fifth of 6 in a C&D novice on hurdles bow 3 weeks ago. Pitched in to a hot heat here and he's best watched. Runner-up on debut in point-to-point bumper in May but opposable on his rules form. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
The 14-length success posted by CELTIC DINO on his hurdles debut at Wincanton last month suggests the Sam Thomas-trained gelding has the potential to significantly build on the promise he showed by winning two of his three starts in bumpers. With Nothing To Sea, Wade Out and Joyeuse also picking up penalties, this should be an informative event, with the last-named of that trio feared most after making a successful start to her UK career at Taunton back in January.
Nicky Henderson has farmed this race in recent seasons, and he looks to hold prime claims once more with 5-y-o JOYEUSE. A half-sister to connections' smart performer Epatante, she looked a good prospect herself when winning on stable debut at Chepstow back in January and very much appeals as the type to rate significantly higher this term. Celtic Dino may well emerge as the chief danger.
Two-time bumper winner CELTIC DINO made an excellent impression when winning easily on last month's hurdle debut at Wincanton.

Handicaps over further after this likely to be more suitable. Improved form when 3rd at Worcester to two who have advertised the form since; considered. |

Michael Millar at Uttoxeter (15.8f, good to soft) 5 weeks ago and attentions are now switched to hurdles. Promising in the 2nd of two Irish bumpers; likely prospect for hurdles at some stage. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (12) (50/1 +0%) As Fast As Wind |
50/1(+0%) | (12) As Fast As Wind 50/1, Fair maiden at best on the Flat in Ireland (stays 1½m) and caught the eye making late gains from an impossible position sent hurdling after 8 weeks off at Exeter last month. Failed to repeat that fitted with a hood 17 days later and others look far more obvious. Had Flat ability in Ireland during 2023; hinted at ability in two hurdle runs for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (11) (150/1 -127%) V Power |
150/1(-127%) | (11) V Power 150/1, Fair on the Flat (stays 1¾m) but has run well below that level on both recent hurdles starts. Fair Flat maiden (RPR 74); very modest in two hurdle runs; handicaps more realistic. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (13) (200/1 -100%) Ballyhiho |
200/1(-100%) | (13) Ballyhiho 200/1, Placed on 2 of 4 starts in Irish points but has made an unpromising start to career under Rules, showing nothing in novice/maiden hurdle last month. Placed in 2 Irish points; down the field in both hurdles; ordinary handicaps soon. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (150/1 -50%) As Good As Can Be |
150/1(-50%) | (2) As Good As Can Be 150/1, Milan gelding who hails from a good family but looks limited on early evidence, tailed-off ninth of 10 in bumper at Worcester (16f, good) 5 months ago. Best watched on hurdling debut. Modest form in Irish points and way back on bumper debut (100-1) for this yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (3) (200/1 -100%) Atlantic Power |
200/1(-100%) | (3) Atlantic Power 200/1, Placed on last of 3 starts in Irish points but tailed off in bumper/maiden hurdle in recent weeks. Can only be watched. Not beaten far in sole completion in Irish points; modest bumper/hurdle form in Britain. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (14) (250/1 -150%) Bellever Tor |
250/1(-150%) | (14) Bellever Tor 250/1, Showed nothing when tailed off in novice hurdle at this C&D (good to soft) on debut earlier in the month. Little expected on C&D hurdle debut and she finished remote; early days yet. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Byzantium is entitled to build on last season's hurdles bow when runner-up at Taunton, but that maiden contest hasn't worked out as hoped and the four-year-old may be worth taking on. Although penalised for his breakthrough victory at Uttoxeter 35 days ago, the Ben Case-trained WINDSURFER is entitled to build on that return to action and he looks capable of following up. The Winslow Boy arrives on the back of a respectable third at Worcester and he shouldn't be far away.
A big field but plenty of deadwood in this novice, BYZANTIUM selected to build on his hurdling debut second at Taunton back in the spring having had a breathing operation prior to his return. Windsurfer opened his account 5 months on from his hurdling debut at Uttoxeter recently, so he heads up the dangers carrying a penalty, with Diskatek and The Winslow Boy taken to fight out minor honours.
Only a few of these are likely to play a part and BYZANTIUM deserves the chance to put right a disappointing defeat on his hurdle debut.

1st (2) (7/4 +36%) Duke Of Luckley |
7/4(+36%) | (2) Duke Of Luckley 7/4, Finished runner-up in pair of Worcester handicaps and, after 3 months off, landed a weak 5-runner handicap chase at Southwell (15.8f) 4 weeks ago, forcing pace and quickening clear from 2 out. May find things tougher from this career-high mark, however. Back up in trip. Was as good as ever when making all at Southwell and he's respected back up in trip. |

2nd (1) (9/4 +55%) Peejaybee |
9/4(+55%) | (1) Peejaybee 9/4, Successful 3 times over hurdles and notched second win in this sphere when accounting for 6 rivals at Perth (2½m, soft) in September. Seemed to find the test inadequate when keeping on third at Carlisle (20f) 4 weeks ago but he's evidently in rude health. Two chase wins this year and was good third in big field at Carlisle latest; respected. |

3rd (8) (10/3 +58%) Ribeye |
10/3(+58%) | (8) Ribeye 10/3, Dual chase winner who stepped up on his reappearance run at Hexham, when 6 lengths third of 7 in handicap chase at Newcastle (23.4f) 3 weeks ago. Merits a second look operating just 1 lb above the mark he last tasted success from. Hard to predict but he ran well at 2m7f last time and has claims if he can back that up. |

4th (7) (22/1 -57%) Dreams Of Home |
22/1(-57%) | (7) Dreams Of Home 22/1, Largely struggled for Donald McCain last season and a change of stable/switch back to hurdling has failed to spark a revival this autumn. Given a big chance by the assessor returned to chasing with cheekpieces now enlisted and his stable have been amongst the winners. On reduced mark back over fences but he has plenty to prove back up in trip; headgear on. |

|U| (5) (6/1 +40%) Mount Gallion |
6/1(+40%) | (5) Mount Gallion 6/1, Lightly raced in points and fair form when making breakthrough over hurdles in a Huntingdon maiden (15.8f) in March. Below that level on 2 of his 3 starts since but interesting if the market spoke in his favour now attentions switch to chasing. Hurdle winner who is still lightly raced and has claims if he takes to this new discipline. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
PEEJAYBEE lost little in defeat when third in a competitive 15-runner handicap at Carlisle last month. A 1lb drop in the ratings could prove to be lenient and a third victory over fences could be on the cards. The biggest threat may emerge from the Martin Keighley-trained Duke Of Luckley, who returned from a 90-day break to score at Southwell in October. Ribeye and Dream Jet also have the form to figure.
HIGH MOON has eased in the weights and hinted firmly at a revival after 5 months off when fifth at Carlisle 4 weeks ago. Entitled to be sharper now and with his yard firmly amongst the winners, he could be worth siding with to build on that effort here. Ribeye at the foot of the weights and Hexham-scorer Dream Jet head up the dangers.
Several have possiblities but the vote goes to DUKE OF LUCKLEY (nap), who was as good as ever wehen making all at Southwell last month.

16/5(+29%) | (9) The Nagger Reidy 16/5, Improved when winning 16-runner handicap hurdle at Listowel (18f, soft, backed and 10/1) on return 55 days ago, going clear. Open to further progress and leading claims here. Handicap debut winner at Listowel; 8lb rise for that but remains very much of interest. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
There looks to be more to come from THE NAGGER REIDY, who scored on his handicap debut at Listowel in late September. The Kayf Tara gelding asserted in good style on the run-in and was value for a bit more than his winning margin. Going up again in trip now could bring further improvement. Empire Succes was well backed when winning his maiden hurdle at Wexford late last month. He has been given a mark of 109 and it will be interesting to see how he fares against older horses. Mexican Moonshine takes a drop in class after running in a couple of good novice races and looks on a competitive mark.
SHRAHEEN goes off the same mark as when first past the post in a Kilbeggan handicap in June and can gain compensation. The Nagger Reidy landed a few bets when improving to take a Listowel handicap on his return and should go well again. Empire Succes is another last-time-out winner to keep on side.
Absent since being disqualified after winning at Kilbeggan in June, SHRAHEEN makes plenty of appeal on return off the same mark

1st (7) (10/3 +52%) Gemirande |
10/3(+52%) | (7) Gemirande 10/3, Gained his second win of 2022/23 at Wetherby (19.4f). Better for return when fifth of 16 in Grand Annual at the Cheltenham Festival in March but proved to be a disappointment in Grade 2 Silver Trophy there the following month. Handicapper drops him 3 lb ahead of this return so folly to ignore. Has dropped to an attractive mark and trainer has won three of the last nine runnings. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (7/1 +13%) Nocte Volatus |
7/1(+13%) | (6) Nocte Volatus 7/1, Took advantage of a drop in the weights to score for the first time in over 2 years at Uttoxeter in May and picked up where he left off when last seen 6 months earlier to score at Chepstow (19.4f, good to soft) last month. 5 lb higher but should make a bold bid for the hat-trick. Rejuvenated 9yo who has won his last two and could play another leading role. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (17/2 -183%) Terresita |
17/2(-183%) | (2) Terresita 17/2, Improved switched to fences last season, likely to have recorded a third success had she not fallen 2 out at Sandown final start. Made amends when taking the scalp of Galia Des Liteaux in listed company at Carlisle (20f, good to soft) on return and is capable of better still. Listed mares' win at Carlisle on comeback; handicapper has reacted but she's progressive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (11/4 +69%) Sageburg County |
11/4(+69%) | (8) Sageburg County 11/4, Three-time winner over fences last season, including at Chepstow in April. Ran poorly at Uttoxeter following month but saw things out better than is often the case when 5½ lengths third of 14 to Nocte Volatus on return at Chepstow last month. That will have blown away any cobwebs, too. Returned from break with solid third at Chepstow and could build on that run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (5/1 +23%) Mylesfromwicklow |
5/1(+23%) | (5) Mylesfromwicklow 5/1, Has taken his form up a notch this season, putting up just about a career best when second of 6 at Market Rasen (21.4f) last month. Unsuited by a change of tactics when sixth of 10 at this course (23.8f, good) just under 3 weeks ago and it's likely he's still in good nick. Soundly beaten over 3m here latest but better known for exploits over this sort of trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (11/1 -69%) Corrigeen Rock |
11/1(-69%) | (1) Corrigeen Rock 11/1, Thoroughly likeable sort who is building a fine strike-rate over fences taking his record in this sphere to 5-11 when landing a big pot at Musselburgh (20.3f, good to soft) when last seen in February. Clearly goes well fresh (won on return last season) so demands considerable respect. Lofty mark to defy on reappearance but he's progressive and an impressive 5-11 over fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (13/2 +28%) Persian Time |
13/2(+28%) | (3) Persian Time 13/2, Won 2 of his first 4 starts over fences last season, doubling his tally when rallying at Kempton in March. However, well below that level on his final 2 starts of the campaign and showed little spark on reappearance back at Kempton (18f, good to soft) last month. Well beaten on comeback but may have needed it; has 2-3 record here; capable of bold show. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
TERRESITA enjoyed a productive campaign last term and looked the likely winner when coming down two from home in a hot Sandown handicap. Lucy Wadham's progressive mare made amends in a Listed event on her return to action at Carlisle and appears the one to be with, despite her career-high mark. Nocte Volatus arrives in search of a hat-trick and must enter calculations off 5lb higher than for his game Chepstow victory. Persian Time is better than he showed over 2m2f at Kempton and he merits respect.
Cases can be made for several of these but it could pay to side with GEMIRANDE, who ended last season with a bit of a whimper but has slipped back to a potentially good mark as a result and his yard has twice won this in recent years with horses returning from a break. Corrigeen Rock took his form up a notch when landing a big pot at Musselburgh back in February, so he heads up the dangers on reappearance, with Terresita and Nocte Volatus both fancied to go well, too.
Venetia Williams has a good record in this race and the attractively handicapped GEMIRANDE is the selection on his reappearance.

11/8(+59%) | (1) Range 11/8, Won novice at this course on second of 4 starts over hurdles last season. After 8 months off, was in process of showing improved form when fell 5 out in handicap at this C&D (good to soft) on chasing debut, yet to be asked for effort at time. Enters calculations. Fell on last month's chase/handicap debut but was a promising novice hurdler last season. |

2nd (8) (15/2 +38%) Enjoy Your Life |
15/2(+38%) | (8) Enjoy Your Life 15/2, Fairly useful ex-French winning hurdler/chaser who bounced back to best when recording second win for current yard in 4-runner handicap chase at Taunton (23f, soft) in February. Excuses final 2 outings, failing to stay when last seen in April, so he's not ruled out. Dual chase winner last season, latterly off this mark; player if tuned up after break. |

3rd (3) (15/2 +38%) Bashers Reflection |
15/2(+38%) | (3) Bashers Reflection 15/2, Improved hurdler last season, scoring at Wetherby and, in first-time cheekpieces, beaten less than 3 lengths when ninth at Cheltenham in April. However, his jumping lacked confidence when sixth of 11 in handicap back at Cheltenham (19.8f, good) on seasonal/chase debut. Four-time hurdle winner; didn't jump well enough on chase debut but can do better. |

4th (6) (11/4 +69%) Donnacha |
11/4(+69%) | (6) Donnacha 11/4, Consistent over hurdles last season, winning 3 times including at Exeter in April. After 6 months off, shaped as if better for the run when third of 5 in handicap at Carlisle (15.9f, good to soft) on chasing debut, so he's open to improvement upped in trip. Three hurdle wins last season; shade disappointing on chase debut but still considered. |

14/1(+0%) | (4) Can You Call 14/1, Fairly useful hurdles/chase winner who ran well on 3 of his 4 starts returned to fences last term, including when runner-up at this C&D on reappearance. However, after 8 months off (had a wind op) he ran poorly back over C&D (good to soft) 24 days ago. Made low-key seasonal debut last month but can be dangerous off this mark if back on song. |

Pulled up on final start of the season, but likely to strip fitter for a run over hurdles last month. Could bounce back. Won five times over fences last season and further progress is possible this term. |

11/1(+8%) | (11) The Boola Boss 11/1, Showed improved form to notch a third victory over fences in 6-runner handicap at Stratford (22.6f, good) in May. Ran to similar level when third at the same C&D in October, but found it tougher at Cheltenham (25f, good) last time. Has something to find. Good winner at Stratford in May but others appeal more on this competitive race. |

|PU| (9) (66/1 -100%) Byzantine Empire |
66/1(-100%) | (9) Byzantine Empire 66/1, Back to winning ways over hurdles at Worcester in July and has shaped better than result last 2 starts, in contention approaching straight before weakening when third of 6 in seller at Stratford (18.7f, good to soft) 22 days ago. First run over fences since 2022. Beaten in a selling hurdle last month and reverts to chasing on a tough mark. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Barring a mishap at Ayr two starts ago, BILLYTHEREALBIGRED would come into this contest unbeaten for the Oliver Greenall and Josh Guerriero stable. The four-year-old made a strong impression on his chase debut at Bangor last month and, with further improvement likely, he could prove hard to beat. Donnacha failed to fire when he finished third at Carlisle last time, but he is an interesting contender on his first attempt at this distance off a 2lb lower mark. Range is another to note.
Having won all 3 completed outings in handicap hurdles, BILLYTHEREALBIGRED made an impressive start over fences at Bangor last month and he can continue his progress to add to his tally. Range was in the process of showing improved form on his chase debut and could be the main danger, with Heros de Romay completing the shortlist.
A promising novice hurdler last season, RANGE was travelling well in the lead when falling on his chasing debut. He gets the vote.

5/6(+49%) | (1) Kilbarry Hill 5/6, Consistent hurdler who made the most of a good opportunity to get off the mark in 6-runner novice hurdle at Hereford (19.7f, good) 18 days ago, heavily eased down. Has to be respected under a penalty in a race lacking depth. Easy win at Hereford on recent return and he's strongly respected under a penalty. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Although a maiden over hurdles, HOW ABOUT NO hit the frame in all four outings over timber when trained in Ireland. Now under the tutelage of Lizzie Quinlan, the four-year-old looks to have been found a suitable opportunity to open his account and he gets the vote over penalised winner Kilbarry Hill. The Blue Bresil gelding drew well clear of his rivals at Hereford 18 days ago and he isn't taken lightly. Balally Park may fare best of the remainder.
HOW ABOUT NO has shown signs of temperament but he sets a clear standard and is difficult to oppose in receipt of weight from his main market rival Kilbarry Hill.
The ex-Irish How About No is respected, but the vote goes to KILBARRY HILL, who was an easy winner at Hereford 18 days ago.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
LADIAM may improve a bit from her comeback run in Limerick last month and could be worth a shot here. The Malinas mare just faded a touch late on then and that was understandable as it was her first outing since June 2023. She has been eased 1lb since and looks on a workable mark. Milanaway was well beaten in maiden company last time, but had run well previously in a Fairyhouse handicap and is capable of getting involved here. Slip Jig didn't run too badly when sixth on her handicap debut in Limerick having won a maiden hurdle here previously. She takes a big step up in trip now.
This is wide open so it could be worth siding with LADIAM who shaped well on her return from a long absence when seventh at Limerick last month and figures on a very handy mark if building on it. Barryroe Madam heads the list of dangers on the back of her good Galway third, along with Hill Rocket, Milanaway and Workforadime.
A strong-finishing third over this trip at Galway last month, BALLYROE MADAM can reverse placings with Walk On Time

2nd (6) (11/1 -22%) Alnilam |
11/1(-22%) | (6) Alnilam 11/1, A fair winner on the Flat who has improved for his current yard, hooded when an excellent 1/2 length second to Williethebuilder at Wetherby 20 days ago. Enjoys a 3 lb pull with that rival so can go well again. Went close behind Williethebuilder at Wetherby; can build on that if jumping better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (9/1 +0%) Mirabad |
9/1(+0%) | (10) Mirabad 9/1, Fairly useful on Flat in France and he has scored twice over hurdles for his current handler, easily bagging 2m Hereford novice 18 days ago. This is much tougher but no forlorn hope on his handicap debut. Two from five in novice hurdles; in a warm race but has potential off handicap debut mark. |

4th (7) (13/8 +54%) Break My Soul |
13/8(+54%) | (7) Break My Soul 13/8, Fetched £290,000 after landing Irish point and scored twice over hurdles last spring at Chepstow/Fontwell. Upped her form a level when second of 10 in handicap over C&D on her return and not taken lightly here despite a 4 lb rise. Went very close over C&D on h'cap debut; remains open to further improvement for top yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (9/1 +18%) Afadil |
9/1(+18%) | (8) Afadil 9/1, Landed a Musselburgh handicap last February and followed that with a series of creditable efforts in good-quality handicaps. yet to hit top form this term but not disgraced when fourth over C&D 20 days ago. Should be sharper now. Not at top of his game on either run this autumn but worth a second look off a handy mark. |

6th (1) (5/1 +17%) Aurigny Mill |
5/1(+17%) | (1) Aurigny Mill 5/1, Took his form up a level for his new yard (formerly with Victor Dartnall) when a most impressive winner of 7-runner handicap hurdle at Newbury (2m) 15 days ago. Up 7 lb but he's a player. Bolted up on recent stable debut at Newbury and a 7lb rise could have been worse. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (10/1 -82%) Gin Coco |
10/1(-82%) | (2) Gin Coco 10/1, Took this 12 months ago and teed himself up well for a repeat off the back of a wind op when a good second of 7 in 2m handicap at Chepstow 42 days ago. Very much one to consider. Won this 12 months ago and returned from wind op with neck second at Chepstow; key player. |

|F| (3) (14/1 0%) Spirit D'aunou |
14/1(0%) | (3) Spirit D'aunou 14/1, Scored at Sandown last December and signed off with a solid fifth of 19 in handicap hurdle at Aintree (20f) in April. Possibilities off a 2 lb lower mark for his return. Hit the buffers in final part of last season but promising previously; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (10/1 -82%) Williethebuilder |
10/1(-82%) | (4) Williethebuilder 10/1, Has advanced his form this term after breathing surgery, scoring at Wetherby (2m) 20 days ago by 1/2 length from Alnilam. Can progress further so must enter calculations. Won at Wetherby last month; 5lb higher in tougher race here but could continue to progress. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
BREAK MY SOUL still appears to be learning on the job and looked the likely winner before being denied in the shadows of the post over C&D on her return. Upped 4lb but with the promise of more improvement to come, she gets the vote to atone for that near-miss. Recent comfortable Newbury scorer Aurigny Mill is a danger, for all that a 7lb rise asks a question of him. Gin Coco completes the shortlist off just 2lb higher than when taking this prize 12 months ago.
Lots with chances but AURIGNY MILL impressed greatly when going in at Newbury recently for his new stable and edges the vote from Nicky Henderson's progressive mare Break My Soul. Wetherby-scorer Williethebuilder, the handily-weighted Afadil and last year's victor Gin Coco are others well worthy of consideration in a highly competitive event.
This could go to the lightly raced 5yo BREAK MY SOUL who was beaten just a nose over C&D on this month's handicap debut.

2nd (14) (16/1 -146%) Zero Tolerance |
16/1(-146%) | (14) Zero Tolerance 16/1, Still a maiden but he bounced back to form when second of 8 in handicap chase at Newton Abbot (21f, soft) in May. Can give a good account after a break. Bettered underwhelming chase debut when clear second at Newton Abbot (2m5f) in May. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (5/1 +23%) Eceparti |
5/1(+23%) | (9) Eceparti 5/1, C&D winner who signed off last term with a respectable fourth over C&D in April. Has won when fresh so he merits consideration on his reappearance. Dual course winner last autumn; resumes on workable mark and enters calculations. |

4th (13) (18/1 -50%) Mortens Leam |
18/1(-50%) | (13) Mortens Leam 18/1, Veteran scored at Stratford (22.5f) in March and resumed from 7 months off with an encouraging fourth of 16 there 22 days ago, set a lot to do. Can make his presence felt. Placed in big field on last month's seasonal debut but younger rivals appeal more. |

5th (1) (12/1 -20%) Fern Hill |
12/1(-20%) | (1) Fern Hill 12/1, Ended last term out of sorts and fared little better when fifth of 8 in handicap chase at Uttoxeter (20.9f, soft) in May. Lots more is needed after 6 months off. Badly out of form when last seen in spring but resumes on very dangerous mark. |

6th (12) (25/1 -79%) Bobmahley |
25/1(-79%) | (12) Bobmahley 25/1, A dual 3m chase scorer in 2022/23 but off since falling 4 out (still leading) over C&D 20 months ago. No forlorn hope though on his comeback with yard going well. Did well over fences during 2022-23 season; returns from long absence on good mark. |

20/1(+20%) | (5) King Of Brazil 20/1, A fair hurdler/chaser who twice over fences last season. Pulled up on his return at Bangor though before unseating rider first at Chepstow. Has a bit to prove. Three non-completions have followed his 2m3f course win in March; stamina unproven. |

8th (3) (5/1 +29%) Haas Boy |
5/1(+29%) | (3) Haas Boy 5/1, Failed to meet market expectations several times last season for Charlie Longsdon. Shaped well (over hurdles) on seasonal/stable debut and has possibilities on chase return. |

40/1(-21%) | (8) Daring Plan 40/1, Lightly-raced maiden hurdler who posted a respectable third of 11 in handicap at Exeter (23.1f, heavy) when last seen out 9 months ago. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (6/1 +57%) Valens Bruyee |
6/1(+57%) | (7) Valens Bruyee 6/1, A two-time winner over hurdles last seson but he jumped ponderously before being pulled up in handicap chase at Bangor (20.3f, heavy) on his debut over fences 24 days ago. Ran no race on last month's chase debut but could still have a future over fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (9/2 +18%) Cooleenymore |
9/2(+18%) | (10) Cooleenymore 9/2, Took very well to fences last spring (scored at Hereford) and she made an encouraging return from 6 months off when fifth of 16 in handicap chase at Stratford (22.6f) 22 days ago. Expected to be bang there with that run under her belt. Chase/hurdle winner in the spring and shaped well last month, after a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (25/1 -79%) Petticoat Lucy |
25/1(-79%) | (6) Petticoat Lucy 25/1, Successful at Newton Abbot and Exeter on her first 2 starts over fences. Off 10 months before pulled up in 21f Stratfford handicap chase on her reappearance however. Won first two chases last year; not much has gone to plan since but she can bounce back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (33/1 -267%) Gats And Co |
33/1(-267%) | (2) Gats And Co 33/1, C&D winner but pulled up in handicap chase at Ffos Las (28f, good) when last seen out in May. It's now 11 runs since his last win in 2022. Went close in C&D hunter chase in April but struggled in a handicap the following month. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
PETTY CASH occupied the runner-up berth in this grade at Stratford in May and has since undergone a wind operation. The son of Getaway shaped as if he would relish this extra distance on that occasion and could be the one to beat off 1lb lower. Haas Boy finished a well-beaten third over hurdles on his first start for the Emma Lavelle yard last month and might be able to get closer in this sphere. Zero Tolerance looks the best of the remainder.
Not as competitive as the numbers suggest and Robert Walford's likeable mare COOLEENYMORE is taken to build on her encouraging Stratford fifth after a lay-off and resume winning ways. Veteran Mortens Leam could emerge as the main danger, with Petty Cash, Eceparti and Zero Tolerance also in the mix
There might still be more to come over fences from COOLEENYMORE (nap), who ran well for a long way at Stratford three weeks ago.

1st (1) (2/1 +11%) Presentandcounting |
2/1(+11%) | (1) Presentandcounting 2/1, Twice a winner in small-field contests in 2023. Largely underwhelming since but hinted at a revival in first-time cheekpieces when fourth of 6 at Ludlow (23.8f, good) in October. Pulled up next time, though he's not dismissed from his current mark. His mark continues to fall but this 10yo was pulled up last time and he has to bounce back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (4/6 +0%) Just Loose Change |
4/6(+0%) | (2) Just Loose Change 4/6, Dual winner over hurdles who ran well when making the frame twice last season. Offered little on chase debut but much improved when rallying for success in novices' handicap at Huntingdon (23.6f, good) 19 days ago. The one to beat. Won at Huntingdon last time on second chase start and is just 3lb higher; solid claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (7/1 -17%) Mister Bells |
7/1(-17%) | (3) Mister Bells 7/1, Took advantage of a much-reduced mark having his first start in veterans' company at this C&D (soft) in February. Looked rusty after 6 months off when pulled up at Sedgefield in October, but he needs to leave his recent run well behind. Won over C&D in January and he may have needed last month's reappearance at Sedgefield. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Just Loose Change remains open to improvement over fences and must be respected up 3lb for his recent Huntingdon success, but preference is for PRESENTANDCOUNTING. Although pulled up in a class 2 event recently, Donald McCain's charge looks likely to lead and, if slipping clear, he will be tough to peg back. Mister Bells failed to complete on his reappearance last month but he ought to be sharper this time around.
JUST LOOSE CHANGE proved a different proposition to on chasing debut when successful at Huntingdon last time, suited by the step up in trip, and he can build on that effort to follow up. The biggest threat could come from Presentandcounting, who has now dropped to 13 lb below his last winning mark.
The 7yo JUST LOOSE CHANGE was a winner at Huntingdon last time on his second chase start and he can follow up.

8/11(+68%) | (6) Mirazur West 8/11, Very useful 2m hurdles winner who posted a good fourth of 6 to Ballyburn in Champion Novices' Hurdle at Punchestown (20.6f, soft) 6 months ago. Goes over fences now and this brother to the top-class chaser Ferny Hollow has loads of potential. Most interesting. 138-rated hurdler and brother to classy chaser Ferny Hollow; big shout. |

3rd (11) (14/1 -27%) Theatre Native |
14/1(-27%) | (11) Theatre Native 14/1, Winner over hurdles at Fairyhouse in February but offered little both runs after in the spring. Remains with potential though now sent over fences for her top yard. Like many in the yard, expected to make a better chaser but this looks a stiff task. |

4th (8) (9/2 -64%) Westport Cove |
9/2(-64%) | (8) Westport Cove 9/2, Useful hurdler. 22/1, respectable eighth of 24 in handicap hurdle at Punchestown (16.7f, good to soft). Off 6 months but one to consider starting out over fences. 137-rated hurdle rating may flatter him; still respected on chasing debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (50/1 +0%) Splashing Out |
50/1(+0%) | (10) Splashing Out 50/1, Promising sort. 40/1, seventh of 13 in novice chase at Wexford (16f, heavy) on debut over fences 25 days ago. Open to progress. Well beaten on chase debut at Wexford behind another in same ownership; similar scenario. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (10/1 +29%) Conyers Hill |
10/1(+29%) | (5) Conyers Hill 10/1, Useful winner at 17f over hurdles. Promising fifth of 13 in novice chase (12/1) at Wexford (16f, heavy) on debut over fences 25 days ago. Holds very good form claims. Okay chase debut effort in good-class Wexford beginners and expected to come on for that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (16/1 -78%) Built By Ballymore |
16/1(-78%) | (4) Built By Ballymore 16/1, Useful hurdler. 8/1, pulled up in handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse (23.8f, heavy) 7 months ago. Needs considering on his first run over the larger obstacles. Quite smart novice hurdler last season; greatly respected on chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (80/1 +47%) Secrecies Of Stone |
80/1(+47%) | (7) Secrecies Of Stone 80/1, Fair hurdler. Winner in hurdle here in July. 150/1, last of 13 in novice chase at Wexford (16f, heavy) 25 days ago. Two chase efforts have been poor and looks a more likely one for handicaps down the line. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Willie Mullins has always thought a lot of MIRAZUR WEST. The full-brother to Ferny Hollow is a keen-going sort but has plenty of ability, as he showed when winning at Grade 2 level over timber last season. Mullins is hopeful fences might settle him a bit more and, if so, he could take high order among the novices this term. The stable also has a strong second string in Westport Cove, who was last seen running off a mark of 137 in a Punchestown handicap hurdle. Built By Ballymore is another who could fare better now over fences. His campaign ended on a couple of disappointing notes last season, but he had won twice previously.
MIRAZUR WEST quickly made up into a very useful hurdler last season and this brother to the top-class chaser Ferny Hollow is fancied to go in at the first time of asking over the larger obstacles. Conyers Hill rates the pick of those with chasing experience and appeals as next best, although other fencing debutants Westport Cove, Built By Ballymore, Only By Night and Theatre Native all merit plenty of respect in an intriguing beginners chase.
A good-class beginners with MIRAZUR WEST, a brother to the classy Ferny Hollow who was unbeaten in three chases, getting the nod

After 5 months off ahead of stable/hurdling debut, possibly needed the run at Chepstow last time, so she's one to note making handicap chase debut. 7th (4) (12/1 -20%) Laskalin |
12/1(-20%) | (4) Laskalin 12/1, Useful at his best and, while he hasn't got his head in front this term, he returned to form in first-time cheekpieces when runner-up at Taunton (28.4f, soft) in March. Pulled up at Cheltenham when last seen in April, but he's not dismissed from his current mark. Second at Taunton in March but soundly beaten otherwise last season; first run since April. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (12/1 +14%) Concetto |
12/1(+14%) | (6) Concetto 12/1, Mixed record last season but won 2 of his last 4 starts, making all in blinkers at Huntingdon (23.6f, soft) in April. With cheekpieces reapplied after 6 months off, shaped as if better for run at Kempton in October and blinkers now back on. Capable if on a going day. Inconsistent but won twice earlier this year and can make a bold bid if back on song. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (22/1 -57%) Northern Bound |
22/1(-57%) | (5) Northern Bound 22/1, Winless since 2022 but he was placed at Chepstow and Aintree this spring. After 11 weeks off, left behind a lesser effort when fourth of 8 at Worcester (20f, good) 17 days ago and return to this longer trip should suit. Lurks on a dangerous mark. On a handy mark on last season's best form but this 10yo's losing sequence continues. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (28/1 -75%) Morfee |
28/1(-75%) | (8) Morfee 28/1, At least as good as ever having another try at chasing last season, making it 2 wins from his final 3 starts when successful at Plumpton (25.7f, good to soft) in January. Possibly needed the run after 10-month absence over hurdles at Exeter last time, but others still preferred. Could leave reappearance run behind now back chasing; progressive over fences last term. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
REGARDE scored quite comfortably in the end at Kempton and the stiff nature of Ascot should play to his strengths as he attempts to notch up a fourth win over fences. A 6lb rise could prove lenient and he is preferred to Regatta De Blanc, who will appreciate a return to the larger obstacles having let down odds-on backers on her Chepstow reappearance. Of the others, keep a close eye on Law Of Supply, who won well at Worcester.
A winner in points, LAW OF SUPPLY was successful at the first attempt in chases when scoring eased-down at Worcester last month, so with further improvement to come he could be capable of following up. Regatta de Blanc is a big player, while Kempton winner Regarde can go well again.
The lightly raced point winner LAW OF SUPPLY (nap) impressed on last month's chase debut at Worcester and can defy a 10lb rise.

Has had wind surgery ahead of reappearance. Won by 6l against other mares on h'cap debut in February; contests much deeper race here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (18) (6/5 +70%) Loverdose |
6/5(+70%) | (18) Loverdose 6/5, French Flat winner who has been much improved over hurdles since handicapping, winning at Exeter in March and following up on course reappearance (2m, good to soft) last month. Longer trip should be within range and can complete a hat-trick. 2-2 since fitted with cheekpieces and switched to handicaps; moves up in trip today. |

3rd (8) (15/2 -25%) Holly Hartingo |
15/2(-25%) | (8) Holly Hartingo 15/2, Bounced back to her best to win a 15-runner C&D handicap (good to soft) last month. Should remain very competitive up 5 lb. C&D winner off reduced mark last month; ought to remain competitive after 5lb rise. |

4th (6) (15/2 +32%) King Of Tara |
15/2(+32%) | (6) King Of Tara 15/2, A fairly useful 2m novice hurdle winner last season. Shaped as if in need of the run when fifth of 10 in 17f Carlisle handicap on reappearance, weakening approaching the last. Should be sharper now. Shaped well before tiring on last month's seasonal debut; up in trip today; shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (13) (28/1 -75%) Maximum Effort |
28/1(-75%) | (13) Maximum Effort 28/1, Fair third in a C&D maiden in February but pulled up in an Exeter handicap the following month and well held in another C&D maiden on his reappearance 24 days ago. Third in C&D maiden in February but subsequent handicap debut was disappointing. |

25/1(+11%) | (11) Sambezi 25/1, Fairly useful hurdler who took handicaps at Fontwell and Worcester in spring 2023 but has found life harder since, finishing well held back from a break at Hereford last month. Back on a good mark now but was well beaten last month, after a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (16/1 +52%) Kepagge |
16/1(+52%) | (5) Kepagge 16/1, Good record at Ffos Las and bounced back to form when runner-up there at the end of May. Below par in 2 comeback outings this autumn, though. A change of headgear (first-time blinkers for visor) needs to spark a revival. Back from break with two disappointing runs; headgear switched in bid to perk him up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (16) (40/1 +0%) Looking For Larry |
40/1(+0%) | (16) Looking For Larry 40/1, Point winner who posted career best in this sphere when taking 15-runner handicap at Exeter (17f, good to soft) in March 2023. Below that form when sixth at Taunton the following month and not seen since. A watching brief has to be the percentage call after such a long time off. Dead-heated on handicap debut in March 2023; absent since lesser run a few weeks later. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (15) (10/1 -67%) Push To Pass |
10/1(-67%) | (15) Push To Pass 10/1, Modest form in 3 qualifying runs but unexposed now handicapping for a good stable. Market confidnece would look significant. Unexposed 4yo who could easily have improvement to come in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (3) (12/1 -20%) Sirekoff |
12/1(-20%) | (3) Sirekoff 12/1, Runner-up twice for Shark Hanlon in Ireland and made a successful start for David Pipe in maiden at Newton Abbot (18.5f, good) in August. 13th (2) (100/1 -150%) Imperial Storm |
100/1(-150%) | (2) Imperial Storm 100/1, Bumper/ hurdle winner for Fergal O'Brien but off for 500 days prior to pulling up in a point in May and absent for a further 6 months since. Best to look elsewhere unless the betting strongly hints otherwise. Hurdle winner in 2022 but pulled up in a point in May, after long layoff; too risky. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (14) (16/1 -88%) Boyles Hill |
16/1(-88%) | (14) Boyles Hill 16/1, Runner-up in his only bumper and took well to hurdling over the summer, winning a 20.5f Market Rasen maiden in August. Could have more to offer in handicaps. Made a solid start to rules career but is not obviously well treated on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
15th (7) (125/1 -89%) It Could Be You |
125/1(-89%) | (7) It Could Be You 125/1, Won a claiming hurdle in Ireland in the spring but pulled up in a Punchestown handicap when last seen in June. First outing for new trainer Clare Ellam. 25/1(-178%) | (12) Captains Road 25/1, Winning pointer. |PU| (4) (150/1 -127%) Brazos |
150/1(-127%) | (4) Brazos 150/1, Fairly useful winning hurdler at his peak but out of sorts for this yard in spring 2023. Absent since. Can only be watched. Badly out of form at end of 2022-23 season; back from long absence today. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Harry Cobden has an impressive 20-percent strike-rate when riding for Robert Walford and he could enhance that record further courtesy of LOVERDOSE. Worth more than the winning margin would suggest over 2m here last month, a step up in trip should suit the unexposed five-year-old, while a 6lb rise in the handicap does not appear overly harsh. Hidden History defeated a now 129-rated rival at Lingfield when last seen in February so he could prove far better than an opening mark of 115. Others to note include Holly Hartingo, Push To Pass and Boyles Hill.
The way LOVERDOSE got on top towards the finish over 2m here last month suggests this trip could suit and he can defy the handicapper again and complete a hat-trick. Handicap newcomers Hidden History, Push To Pass and Boyles Hill head the dangers in a competitive race.
Handicap debutant PUSH TO PASS was given quite a lot to do before keeping on steadily in a 2m novice last month and can improve here.

1st (4) (13/8 +64%) Kids Say Lastgojoe |
13/8(+64%) | (4) Kids Say Lastgojoe 13/8, Half-brother to French bumper winner/hurdler Jewel Star. 17/2 and hooded, showed a bit on debut at Newcastle 3 weeks ago, pulling hard. Will need to learn to channel his exuberance more efficiently if he's to build on that. Pulled hard when fourth at Newcastle and is open to progress if he can settle better. |

2nd (6) (6/4 +8%) Mighty Gesture |
6/4(+8%) | (6) Mighty Gesture 6/4, €32,000 3-y-o, Sholokhov mare. Sister to bumper winner/fair hurdler Slige Dala and closely related to bumper winner/useful hurdler/chaser Knock House. Plenty of appeal on paper and yard do well in these. Wears tongue strap. Has a striking pedigree and she's an interesting newcomer for Fergal O'Brien. |

8/1(+20%) | (2) Dermo's Boy 8/1, £12,000 3-y-o, Shirocco gelding. Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser Gun Digger and fair hurdler Bazarov. Dam bumper/19f hurdle winner (stayed 23f). Has several bumper winners in pedigree and needs checking in market on debut. |

4th (5) (16/1 +60%) Fancy Nancy Pants |
16/1(+60%) | (5) Fancy Nancy Pants 16/1, 14/1, well beaten in Sedgefield bumper on debut 6 months ago. Made a low-key start at Sedgefield in May and needs a transformation on return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (33/1 +50%) Frontier Force |
33/1(+50%) | (3) Frontier Force 33/1, 66/1, green and well beaten in Sedgefield bumper 2 months ago. 66-1 on Sedgefield debut (2m1f, good) in September and was a tailed-off last of seven. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
This isn't the deepest of contests and if Kids Say Lastgojoe is able to build on a promising debut effort, he is likely to mount a stern challenge. Fergal O'Brien often does well in bumpers and Mighty Gesture, a relative of two useful types, must be taken seriously. That said, SNAPAUDACIAHEROS finished second to one that has gone on to win twice over hurdles already at Southwell last time and she is taken to go one better for her in-form yard.
MIGHTY GESTURE makes plenty of appeal on paper and could have found a good opportunity first time up. Snapaudaciaheros can go well on her return and looks the danger.
It might be worth siding with Fergal O'Brien's striking newcomer MIGHTY GESTURE, who is a sister to a smart bumper winner.

Merits serious consideration again in hat-trick bid. Bids for a hat-trick off a 5lb higher mark; may not have finished improving just yet. |

2nd (7) (13/2 -8%) Oriental Art |
13/2(-8%) | (7) Oriental Art 13/2, One win from 32 Flat runs. 12/1, creditable second of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (12.2f) 11 days ago, finishing with running left. Worth bearing in mind from this sort of mark. Runner-up last time, but a record of 1-32 makes him hard to warm to. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (16/1 -78%) Galahad Threepwood |
16/1(-78%) | (4) Galahad Threepwood 16/1, Fourteen runs since last win in 2021. Fourth of 6 in handicap at this course (16.2f, 12/1) 35 days ago, no extra final 100 yds. Back down in trip. Others rate stronger. Not as good as he was under either code; best watched for now. |

Enters calculations returned to class 6 company/back up in trip. Ultra-consistent since the spring including two wins here; likely to run his race again. |

6th (10) (40/1 +20%) Bamboo Bay |
40/1(+20%) | (10) Bamboo Bay 40/1, Ended long losing run at Redcar (14f) in September but ran poorly in trio of starts on Flat/over hurdles since, pulled up in handicap at Sedgefield (19.8f) 8 days ago. Best watched. Has beaten a total of one rival in three starts around here; look elsewhere. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (12) (80/1 -142%) Star Of Markinch |
80/1(-142%) | (12) Star Of Markinch 80/1, Creditable fourth of 8 in handicap (25/1) at Musselburgh (16f, good to soft) 16 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Back down in trip. Makes tapeta debut. 0-24 under rules and this is a very belated AW debut. |

8th (3) (4/1 +11%) Laudable |
4/1(+11%) | (3) Laudable 4/1, 3 wins from 14 runs this year. Latest win at Catterick in September. Creditable second of 6 in handicap at this C&D (10/3) 25 days ago. No reason why he won't give another good account. Running well since completing a hat-trick on turf; runner-up over C&D the last twice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (16/1 +27%) Carlos Felix |
16/1(+27%) | (6) Carlos Felix 16/1, C&D winner. Sixth of 9 in handicap (12/1) at Catterick (12.1f, good to soft) in June, ridden 3f out and never involved. Return to all-weather needs to have positive effect back from a break. Off the same mark as when successful over C&D this time last year after a similar absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) (28/1 -155%) Tilsitt |
28/1(-155%) | (8) Tilsitt 28/1, Course winner. 13/2, creditable third of 8 in handicap at Musselburgh (12.5f, good to soft) 16 days ago. Each-way possibilities returned to an artificial surface. Has run well over similar trips on turf; losing run of 31 is a concern. |

11th (11) (80/1 -60%) Typewritten |
80/1(-60%) | (11) Typewritten 80/1, Unreliable individual. Sixteen runs since last win in 2022. Shaped as if needing the run after 8 months off when ninth of 10 in handicap (80/1) at Southwell (14.1f) 32 days ago. Cheekpieces back on and this should reveal more. Losing run up to 16 despite a falling mark; little appeal. |

12th (5) (40/1 -21%) Dundory |
40/1(-21%) | (5) Dundory 40/1, Last win came at Doncaster (11.9f) in spring of last year but more miss than hit on the Flat this time around. Better effort when third of 14 in handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter (15.8f) 5 weeks ago and switched yards ahead of this. Market can prove a useful guide. Losing run up to 20 and 0-16 on the AW; change of stable needs to make a big difference. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
A highly encouraging third when staying on from off the pace over 1m2f here last time out, HUMBLE SPARK should appreciate another go at this distance and he may be able to notch up a third course victory of the year. The hat-trick seeking Fast Fred arrives with strong claims on the back of a comfortable success at Southwell, while Laudable needs a change of luck having been runner-up on his last three starts, including the last twice over C&D.
FAST FRED has picked up the progressive thread since switched to handicaps, following up his breakthrough success in comfortable fashion at Southwell (12.1f) 2 weeks ago. Unexposed at this trip, he's very much of interest again from his revised mark and earns the vote. Humble Spark, back down markedly in class, Oriental Art and Laudable head up the dangers.
The late-maturing FAST FRED can complete the hat-trick. He looked as though he had more to offer when winning at Southwell last time.

4th (2) (4/1 +0%) Captain Cody |
4/1(+0%) | (2) Captain Cody 4/1, Useful Grade 2 winner at 20f over hurdles. Interesting chasing debutant for top yard. Good novice hurdler; unproven over the trip and might well be best watched this time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (6/1 -20%) Nas Na Riogh |
6/1(-20%) | (4) Nas Na Riogh 6/1, Fairly useful hurdler. 5/2, career best when winning 8-runner novice hurdle at Killarney (20.2f, good to soft) 6 months ago. Chaser on looks and seems sure to up his game again now. Looks a chasing type and the step up in trip likely to be suit; interesting debutant. |

9/2(+36%) | (3) Cleatus Poolaw 9/2, Useful hurdler. Respectable fourth of 14 in hurdle (17/2) at Punchestown (19.3f, good to soft) 6 months ago. Makes chase debut and point winner should have a good future in this sphere. Best form is on soft ground and already proven himself a strong stayer; should go well. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
A deep contest, with Willie Mullins saddling three of the seven, and the vote goes to CAPTAIN CODY on his chase debut. The Arctic Cosmos gelding won a Grade 2 in impressive fashion last season and any further rain will suit him. He looks to have the potential to make into a smart staying chaser. Stablemate Sa Majeste has the benefit of a run under his belt. He stayed on to chase home Search For Glory at Galway last time and is entitled to improve from that experience. Jockey bookings would suggest that Cleatus Poolaw is the pick of Gordon Elliott's pair and he has the potential to improve over fences.
Another interesting beginners chase that can go to SA MAJESTE who has a very encouraging performance over fences at Galway under his belt and seems sure to better his useful hurdles form in this sphere. Captain Cody, Nas Na Riogh and Cleatus Poolaw are all fascinating rivals now going chasing themselves.
The one to beat looks like SA MAJESTE, a good second to a very useful stayer at Galway last month on his chase debut

2nd (1) (13/8 +7%) Blues Singer |
13/8(+7%) | (1) Blues Singer 13/8, Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler Music of Tara and overcame inexperience to make a winning start in Kempton junior bumper in March, green (took keen hold) but coming clear. Will improve and good chance of defying a penalty. Impressive on debut at Kempton in March and has to be respected under a penalty. |

7/1(+22%) | (5) Little Ledgend 7/1, £46,000 4-y-o, Yeats gelding. Dam bumper/19f hurdle winner, half-sister to bumper winner Hard To Swallow. Fourth sole start in Irish points (Mar 2024). Bred to do well in this sphere. Close fourth in Irish maiden point and in-form trainer has healthy strike-rate in bumpers. |

4th (2) (5/2 -11%) Calvino |
5/2(-11%) | (2) Calvino 5/2, €130,000 Walk In The Park gelding out of useful chaser for yard. Appealing newcomer for leading yard who took this last year with a good prospect starting out. Dam was smart for yard; top trainer has won last two runnings; has to be in calculations. |

5th (3) (18/1 -100%) Flimsy Nosebag |
18/1(-100%) | (3) Flimsy Nosebag 18/1, Much improved from debut when third of 6 in C&D bumper on return 3 weeks ago, not beaten far, although it was a messy race. More needed again. Close third over C&D on second start but further improvement is needed today. |

6th (7) (33/1 -65%) Top Tier Gossip |
33/1(-65%) | (7) Top Tier Gossip 33/1, Getaway filly. Closely related to fair hurdler Gentle Connections, and half-sister to yard's useful hurdler/very smart chaser Midnight River. Showed some ability but failed to match the turn of foot of the more speedily-bred winner when second in weak Stratford bumper on debut 7 weeks ago. Second of five at Stratford on debut but needs a sizeable step forward today. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Paul Nicholls has already had one smart newcomer score in these colours this week and CALVINO has the potential to be another. The four-year-old is out of a mare who won a Listed race over fences for the stable and he may have enough to see off the experience of Blues Singer, who has a 4lb penalty to overcome for a taking debut success at Kempton in March. Kdeux Saint Fray must be monitored for market support as he starts out for shrewd connections.
BLUES SINGER created a good impression when scoring on debut at Kempton in March and is taken to defy a penalty on his return. Calvino and Little Ledgend are very appealing newcomers and the betting should be informative.
Paul Nicholls has won the last two renewals and saddles the attractively bred CALVINO, who earns the vote ahead of Blues Singer.

There has been no stopping Paul Nicholls following a slow start to the season and Sinnatra appeals as a likely candidate with that in mind, but the newly-formed father and son partnership of Jonjo and A J O'Neill have started brightly too and ASSERTIVE WALK might be worth chancing. The stoutly-bred son of Walk In The Park fetched 85,000-euros as a three-year-old and, on paper at least, looks to hold a live chance. Pure Blue and Harry Bright are just two others to consider.
In a concluding bumper where the betting should be informative SINNATRA gets the vote for last year's winning stable. Harry Bright, Hillwalk, who was closing in second when falling at the last in his sole point, and Assertive Walk are other interesting runners before any market clues are known.
There are several interesting types among the newcomers, particularly SINNATRA and Assertive Walk.

1st (4) (18/1 -29%) Dandy Magic |
18/1(-29%) | (4) Dandy Magic 18/1, Fair form in maidens for Emmet Mullins but ran poorly having changed hands for 15,500 gns when last of 10 in maiden at Musselburgh (7.1f, good to soft) 16 days ago. Needs to leave that well behind making handicap debut. Beaten a very long way on stable debut; needs a transformation switched to the AW. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (10) (9/2 +10%) Blue Lakota |
9/2(+10%) | (10) Blue Lakota 9/2, Limited impact in his qualifying runs but well backed following wind surgery, much improved when second of 6 in nursery (15/8) at this course (5f) 21 days ago, coming back at the winner late on. Remains low-mileage and return to 6f promises to suit. Just beaten on nursery/AW debut here three weeks ago; return to 6f may suit; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (12/1 +25%) Harswell Ruby |
12/1(+25%) | (6) Harswell Ruby 12/1, Showed improved form when second on nursery debut at Southwell (6f) in October but, equipped with a hood, seemed to find rise in class too much when fifth of 7 in nursery back at that venue (7f) 2 weeks ago. Could do with cutting out the slow starts. Went close at Southwell last month and latest defeat was in a better race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (11/4 +73%) Hundred Caps |
11/4(+73%) | (1) Hundred Caps 11/4, Thrice-raced maiden. Fifth of 17 in novice at Thirsk (6f, good to firm, 25/1) 76 days ago. Gelded ahead of handicap debut and no surprise to see a better showing for good yard. Showed ability in his last two starts on turf; dam was a smart performer on the AW. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (17/2 -13%) Kodi Fire |
17/2(-13%) | (2) Kodi Fire 17/2, Kodi Bear colt who ran below pick of his form despite making the places when third of 7 in maiden at Southwell (6.1f) 15 days ago. Needs to bounce back on nursery debut. Has shown some ability, but still needs to take a step forward now switched to a nursery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (5/1 -67%) Bow Street |
5/1(-67%) | (3) Bow Street 5/1, 5/1, career best when winning 9-runner nursery at this C&D 17 days ago, by ½ length from Ghostman. Well suited by the return to this trip then and he's respected once more from 3 lb higher mark. Beat Ghostman by half a length over C&D 17 days ago; one of the likelier winners. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (14/1 -56%) Beerwah |
14/1(-56%) | (5) Beerwah 14/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 10/3, respectable fourth of 9 in novice at Redcar (6f, soft) 35 days ago, switched over 1f out and keeping on. Not ruled out on nursery bow. Signs of ability in four starts on turf, but still more needed on nursery/AW debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (66/1 -100%) Auntie Jo |
66/1(-100%) | (8) Auntie Jo 66/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 50/1, last of 8 in nursery at this C&D 25 days ago, pushed along over 2f out and not threatening. Much more needed. Failed to beat a rival on nursery/AW debut over C&D last month; enough to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (7/2 +13%) Ghostman |
7/2(+13%) | (7) Ghostman 7/2, Dandy Man gelding who produced best effort to date when ½-length second of 9 to Bow Street in nursery at this C&D 17 days ago. Not taken lightly meeting that rival on 2 lb better terms. Closely matched with Bow Street on latest C&D running; should be bang there once again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (9) (50/1 -150%) What What What |
50/1(-150%) | (9) What What What 50/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 100/1, eighth of 9 in maiden at Doncaster (6f, heavy) 13 days ago. Needs to take a step forward on nursery debut. Not set the world alight in four start on turf; best watched on nursery/AW debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (11) (80/1 -100%) Good Reward |
80/1(-100%) | (11) Good Reward 80/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 200/1, seventh of 8 in maiden at Southwell (6.1f) 18 days ago. Needs to take a marked step forward to feature on handicap debut. Shown little in three starts; open to improvement now handicapping but it will be needed. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
BLUE LAKOTA was a major improver for both wind surgery and making his handicap debut when narrowly denied here over 5f earlier in the month, and a 2lb rise may not be enough to stop him from going one better. Bow Street had Ghostman half a length behind in the runner-up spot over C&D last time out and he can uphold that form, despite being 2lb worse off at the weights.
BOW STREET benefited from the step back up in trip and overcame trouble at the start when opening his account over C&D 17 days ago. He's fancied to make another bold bid up 3 lb, with Blue Lakota and Ghostman, who was just behind the selection latest, others to consider. Market confidence behind nursery debutants Hundred Caps and Kodi Fire would also look significant.
The choice is HUNDERED CAPS who has shown ability on turf while his dam was smart on the AW.

This should reveal more. Modest effort in soft-ground contest at Newmarket; may do better in this scenario. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (11/1 -38%) Criminal Shore |
11/1(-38%) | (2) Criminal Shore 11/1, Kodiac colt. 40/1, showed plenty to work on amidst inexperience when fourth of 11 in novice at Southwell (7.1f) on debut 32 days ago, no extra final 100 yds. 7th (5) (4/1 -45%) Jamaican Storm |
4/1(-45%) | (5) Jamaican Storm 4/1, Foaled April 12. Havana Grey gelding. Promising third in similar event over C&D one month ago, keeping on; the form pick. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (4/1 -60%) Lemurian |
4/1(-60%) | (7) Lemurian 4/1, Foaled April 29. Dubawi colt. Brother to very smart 1¼m-1½m winner Journey, 11.6f-14.5f winner Mimikyu and 2-y-o 1m winner Indigo Girl, latter 2 smart. Dam winner up to 15.5f (2-y-o 1¼m winner), won Prix Royal-Oak. Very appealing newcomer representing leading stable. From a good family that his notable connections know well; respected debutant. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (80/1 -60%) Transfuse |
80/1(-60%) | (10) Transfuse 80/1, Makes plenty of appeal on paper but could only run to a modest level when twelfth of 14 in maiden at Dundalk (1m) on debut 28 days ago. Changed hands for just 1,000 gns since and he's best watched here. Down the field at Dundalk on sole start for Joseph O'Brien; sold for 1,000gns since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (3) (125/1 -150%) Dutch Duke |
125/1(-150%) | (3) Dutch Duke 125/1, Foaled April 21. £21,000 yearling, Massaat gelding. Brother to 6f winner Granny Budgie. Dam, 9.5f winner, half-sister to useful winning sprinter Caledonia Lady. £21,000 yearling; stable is 0-33 with 2yos this year; best watched. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
This can go the way of JAMAICAN STORM, who shaped with abundant promise on debut when keeping on well for third over C&D, having dwelt at the start. With normal improvement expected, Bryan Smart's charge can break the maiden at the main expense of newcomer Lemurian, who hails from a family that connections have been very successful with in recent years, although he is likely to need further in time. Southwell fourth Criminal Shore is another to note, as is debutant Brooklyn, who cost 175,000 euros as a yearling.
LEMURIAN makes plenty of appeal on paper, hailing from a family his leading stable has enjoyed plenty of success with, so he's selected to get off to the perfect start before the benefit of market clues. Jamaica Storm sets the standard of those with previous form on the back of an encouraging C&D debut third 31 days ago and he's feared. Brooklyn and Ventura Dream are another pair of newcomers to note, whilst Criminal Shore commands respect, too.
With the form standard not particularly high, interesting newcomers LEMURIAN, Brooklyn and Ventura Dream comprise the shortlist.

6/4(+33%) | (5) Eclairage 6/4, Lightly-raced winner. 12/1, career best when winning 11-runner nursery at this C&D 28 days ago, always holding on. That form is working out well so big shout. Off the mark on AW and handicap debut here last month, up 4lb, go well again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (9/2 +25%) Moonhall Lass |
9/2(+25%) | (4) Moonhall Lass 9/2, 6/1, creditable 2 lengths fifth of 11 to Eclairage in nursery at this C&D 28 days ago. Can give a good account. Six-race maiden, shaped well both runs here, 1lb lower for 2l defeat latest, big claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (5/2 +17%) Skillman Ave |
5/2(+17%) | (2) Skillman Ave 5/2, Blinkered for 1st time, good length third of 11 to Eclairage in nursery (7/1) at this C&D 28 days ago. Not taken lightly with the headgear again sported. Good C&D run on handicap and AW debut, blinkers retained, dropped 1lb, thereabouts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (14/1 -40%) Charanda |
14/1(-40%) | (1) Charanda 14/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Eighth of 11 in maiden at this course (7f, 40/1) 23 days ago. Back down in trip. Makes handicap debut. Stiff task. Good run over this C&D on debut, hard to assess on handicap bow, watch the market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (8/1 -7%) Vanilla Baby |
8/1(-7%) | (7) Vanilla Baby 8/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 12/1, below form eighth of 13 in nursery at this course (7f) 2 days ago. Back down in trip. Yard in good form. Narrowly denied over 6f on h'cap and AW debut, poor effort here over 7f on Wednesday. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (10/1 +9%) Tino Pai |
10/1(+9%) | (8) Tino Pai 10/1, Respectable 3¼ lengths sixth of 11 to Eclairage in nursery at this C&D (11/1) 28 days ago. No forlorn hope. Beaten 3.25l over C&D behind Eclairage on latest, better off at weights but more needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (40/1 0%) Nell's Dream |
40/1(0%) | (9) Nell's Dream 40/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 300/1, last of 13 in maiden at this course (7f) 23 days ago. Down in trip. Makes handicap debut. No show in three maidens over further, 5lb wrong, best watched dropped in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (33/1 -136%) Kensington Hope |
33/1(-136%) | (6) Kensington Hope 33/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 18/1, first run since leaving Kevin Philippart De Foy when creditable sixth of 14 in nursery at this course (6f) 16 days ago. Tongue strap/cheekpieces on 1st time and in the picture. Minor promise for former yard, drop back to 5f should suit, cheekpieces and tongue-tie on. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
With the form of her recent C&D win in a similar grade having been boosted in the interim, ECLAIRAGE should be capable of following up. Smartly away from the stalls, the Danny Murphy-trained filly made all to score comfortably by half a length. A 4lb rise doesn't appear too harsh given how well the race has worked out subsequently. Skillman Ave, who finished a staying-on third in that contest, has a chance at the revised weights. Gavin Cromwell's filly has plenty of experience, which should stand to her here. Just Jump would be of definite interest off a mark of 72 if settling better than last time. The Andrew Slattery-trained gelding could be suited to this drop back to 5f.
An open nursery in which ECLAIRAGE earns the vote with the form of his recent C&D success having been franked. Skillman Ave chase home the selection that day and is again feared most with Tino Pai, Moonhall Lass and Vanilla Baby also well in the mix.
MOONHALL LASS is preferred. She hasn't much to find with Eclairage, she's better off at the weights with her and Keane is on board

13/2(+7%) | (7) Kylian 13/2, C&D winner. 13/2 and blinkered for 1st time, sixth of 8 in handicap at Ascot (5f, good to soft) in September, weakening final 1f. Unexposed on synthetics and no surprise to see a good showing back from 76 days off. C&D winner at two; has some useful form this year and he's edging down the weights; chance. |

2nd (4) (9/1 +0%) Malc |
9/1(+0%) | (4) Malc 9/1, Useful at 2, notably runner-up in the Norfolk at Royal Ascot. Good fourth on return at listed level in May but struggled in Group 1 company next start and only sixteenth of 21 on handicap debut at York (6f, soft) 6 weeks ago. Eased 3 lb ahead of tapeta debut. Norfolk Stakes runner-up at two; one good run and two lesser efforts this year; AW debut. |

3rd (12) (11/2 +61%) Spirit Of Applause |
11/2(+61%) | (12) Spirit Of Applause 11/2, C&D winner in October and remained in very good order since, shaping much better than the bare result when fifth of 9 in a C&D handicap 6 days ago, noted finishing with running left. This tougher from out of the weights but he's evidently thriving at present. C&D win last month; met trouble galore here last week; 4lb out of weights; e-w claims. |

4th (3) (15/2 +25%) Sommelier |
15/2(+25%) | (3) Sommelier 15/2, Twenty-third of 28 in handicap at Royal Ascot (5f, good to firm, 14/1), merely passing beaten rivals when last seen in June. 2-5 on the AW and he merits respect back from 5 months off given his low-mileage profile. Has some smart form, including here; absent five months but not fully exposed just yet. |

5th (6) (15/8 +46%) Bergerac |
15/8(+46%) | (6) Bergerac 15/8, Resumed winning ways over C&D in June and has held his form well since, good third having set sound gallop in Ayr Silver Cup (6f) in September. Undergone wind surgery since and he's one to consider. 2024 has been a damp squib but goes well here and a wind op could revive his fortunes. |

14/1(+0%) | (5) Juan Les Pins 14/1, Fourteen runs since last win in 2023. Eighth of 12 in handicap at Southwell (6.1f, 20/1) 20 days ago, badly hampered. Others make greater appeal. Dangerous mark and type to revive at some point this winter; stable quiet this autumn. |

9th (11) (125/1 -468%) Strong Power |
125/1(-468%) | (11) Strong Power 125/1, Twenty one runs since last win in 2022 but did bounce back to form from much lower turf mark when second of 9 in handicap at Doncaster (6f, good to firm) in June. Possible this first for 6 months will be needed but the betting should guide all the same. Better on AW but handicapped accordingly and this looks tough back from 174 days off. |

10th (8) (18/1 +28%) Bond Chairman |
18/1(+28%) | (8) Bond Chairman 18/1, Won on return at Doncaster in 2023 but more miss than hit since, going backwards from his reappearance effort in July when ninth of 14 in handicap at this C&D 31 days ago. Others preferred. Down in the weights but it has been a while since he threatened in a handicap. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
A C&D winner off 4lb lower in the Gosforth Park Cup back in June, BERGERAC has held his form well since then. Kevin Ryan's likeable sprinter again acquitted himself with great credit when finishing third in the Ayr Silver Cup and, nudged up 1lb back at the minimum trip, he gets the nod. Kylian is yet to deliver on the promise he showed in his juvenile days, but his mark is fast becoming attractive and he commands respect. Equilateral, runner-up to last weekend's brilliant Golden Rose winner Night Raider at Kempton, is also noteworthy.
Having resumed winning ways over C&D in June, BERGERAC has remained in excellent form since, first home in his group having set a sound gallop when third in the Silver Cup at Ayr. He looks sure to give another good account and shades the vote. Significantly, back from a break/wind surgery, and Kylian are others to consider. Spirit of Applause also commands respect despite operating from out of the weights.
A strong race in which Equilateral, Bergerac and SOMMELIER appeal most. A stiff 5f on AW could be ideal for the selection.

JACKIE BROWN holds leading claims now that she drops back to 6f. Runner-up here over an extra furlong last time, the Tony Martin-trained filly held every chance before weakening inside the last. Although consistent from 5f to 7f, the four-year-old gives the impression that this could be her optimum distance. Champion apprentice James Ryan takes a valuable 3lb off her back. C&D winner I'm Spartacus has been running well in recent weeks. The Ado McGuinness-trained gelding will appreciate the extra furlong having run on strongly over 5f here last time. Jazzy Dancer would be a threat to all if afforded an easy lead, while Devil's Angel would be a serious threat if getting a run.
This is wide open but RATTLETHEONIONBAG signalled he's ready to strike when a very good recent C&D runner-up so looks the way to go. Jackie Brown and I'm Spartacus both arrive in good nick and can chase home the selection in that order. Crystal Luna completes the shortlist.
It might be worth siding with CRYSTAL LUNA. Her yard does well here, she shaped well in a 5f maiden here latest and she's bred for 6f

125/1(-279%) | (8) Ravenswing 125/1, Creditable fourth of 8 in handicap at Southwell (7.1f, 20/1), slowly away. Off 22 months. First run for yard after leaving Archie Watson and betting likely to prove the best guide. Maiden; absent since January 2023; debut for new yard; market instructive. |

11th (7) (66/1 -164%) Ice Shadow |
66/1(-164%) | (7) Ice Shadow 66/1, Dual winner during 2023 who was clearly not 100% after 6 months off when last of 11 in handicap (25/1) at Nottingham (8.3f, good) in June. Returns with yard having displayed positive signs in recent weeks but she remains 3 lb above last winning mark. Trailed home last (had an irregular heartbeat) in sole run this year. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
HITCHED was value for more than the winning margin when getting up late on to bring up a double at Lingfield on Tuesday and he gets the vote to make light of his penalty again. A 1lb rise for a recent C&D second doesn't discount Wheres The Crumpet, while Roman Harry wasn't disgraced when third over this track and trip last week and he looks the pick of the remainder.
HITCHED arrives having landed back-to-back Lingfield handicaps, the latest 3 days ago, and he's fancied to defy a double penalty and complete the hat-trick. Roman Harry, Al Shabab and Wheres The Crumpet are a trio of others to consider.
The suggestion is ROMAN HARRY, who may still have more to offer on non-turf surfaces. Al Shabab is second choice.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Back over 7f, PERFECT JUDGEMENT can strike on what is only his second start for trainer Stephen Thorne. Held up to get the trip when fifth over a mile here last time, the three-year-old can be ridden a bit closer to the pace on this occasion. Well treated by these race conditions, he can register a third career success. Naas maiden winner Whispersinthewind is thoroughly unexposed at this level. Twice placed on the Polytrack last winter, the Donnacha O'Brien-trained filly has to be respected. Punk Poet is at his best over a mile, but the Eddie Lynam-trained gelding would be dangerous to underestimate if allowed too much of a lead under Chris Hayes.
A case can be made for plenty of these but HIGHTIMEYOUWON rates just the pick of the weights on the back of his very good second here last time out so edges the vote. Course specialist Punk Poet heads the list of dangers, with Perfect Judgement, No More Porter and Imperial Dream all well in the mix too.
Preference is for WHISPERSINTHEWIND. She beat a decent sort in a Naas maiden last time and she has solid placed C&D form in the book

80/1(-60%) | (5) Dream Show 80/1, Eighth of 9 in handicap (100/1) at this course (7.1f) 21 days ago. Lot to prove. Poor results for current yard; enough to prove dropped in trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
BRUMMELL overcame trouble in running when fairly bolting up over 5f here recently and, stepping back up in trip, the suspicion is that a 6lb penalty may not stop Julie Camacho's sprinter from going in again. Pals Battalion was too keen for his own good when runner-up over 7f at Redcar and this cut back in distance can see him put up the most resistance to the selection. Phoenix Of Dreams remains relatively unexposed in handicaps and he is also a noteworthy contender.
BRUMMELL and Fahrenheit Seven are a pair of 3-y-os going the right way so they may fight this out. Marginal preference is for the former, who is understandably turned out under a penalty for what was an easy win here recently. Of the rest, Evocative Spark can remain competitive.
Topweight FAHRENHEIT SEVEN (nap) looks the type to do well on AW this autumn/winter and is first choice ahead of Evocative Spark.

12/1(-71%) | (4) Habari 12/1, Twice-raced colt. Fifth of 12 in maiden (16/1) at this C&D 14 days ago. May well do better. Possibilities. Slightly better when fifth of 12 over C&D latest and stable do well at this venue. |

14/1(+0%) | (6) March To The Band 14/1, Foaled January 24. 40,000 gns foal, £120,000 yearling, Footstepsinthesand gelding. Half-brother to several winners, including 7f-1m winner Ajrad and 2-y-o 7f winner Cryptoqueen. Wears cheekpieces. No forlorn hope. £120,000 yearling has a lovely pedigree and Colin Keane is booked; watch the market. |

10th (3) (10/1 -18%) Faro Luminoso |
10/1(-18%) | (3) Faro Luminoso 10/1, Once-raced colt. Tenth of 27 in maiden at the Curragh (8f, good to soft, 18/1) on debut 19 days ago. Open to improvement. Ideal draw here will help matters but he will need to be out fast to take advantage. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (11) (150/1 -20%) Southgreen |
150/1(-20%) | (11) Southgreen 150/1, Once-raced gelding. Twentieth of 27 in maiden at the Curragh (8f, good to soft, 125/1) on debut 19 days ago. Sent off a big price on debut at the Curragh this month and ran according to the market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (9) (200/1 +0%) Rushes And Bushes |
200/1(+0%) | (9) Rushes And Bushes 200/1, Thrice-raced gelding. Last of 12 in maiden (200/1) at this C&D 14 days ago. Has failed to beat a single rival home in two runs around here; impossible to recommend. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Fourth on his debut over 7f here last month, AEON'S AEGIS should appreciate stepping up to a mile. The Joseph O'Brien-trained colt was held up in the early stages before staying on well up the straight to get within six lengths of the winner. Granted normal improvement from that initial outing, the son of Not This Time can open his account. Habari showed huge improvement from his first outing to take fifth here over this trip. If he can take a similar step forward from that run, he should be involved at the finish. What's Your Game shaped well enough on his debut at the Curragh to suggest he can win his maiden soon.
Joseph O'Brien's AEON'S AEGIS made a promising start when a recent fourth here and this son of Not This Time is fancied to build on it and open his account. A few newcomers offer a fair bit of potential here, not least Purview and All Told and they can chase home the selection in that order.
AEON'S AEGIS (nap) finished fourth in a hot 7f maiden here on his debut and should take all the beating with the cobwebs blown away

1st (4) (9/4 +63%) Alfa Whiteburd |
9/4(+63%) | (4) Alfa Whiteburd 9/4, C&D winner. 2 wins from 5 runs this year. Latest win at Southwell in October. Below form eighth of 13 in handicap at Redcar (6f, soft, 11/4) 35 days ago but could easily get back on the up returned to the AW. C&D scorer; repeatedly short of room on hat-trick bid at Redcar; remains unexposed. |

2nd (9) (20/1 -67%) Bellagio Man |
20/1(-67%) | (9) Bellagio Man 20/1, C&D winner. Sixteen runs since last win in 2023. 9/2, creditable third of 9 in handicap at this C&D 14 days ago. Dangerous if building on that from his lowly mark. More encouraging signs with C&D third; on long losing run but too well treated to dismiss. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (7/1 -180%) Monsieur Kodi |
7/1(-180%) | (2) Monsieur Kodi 7/1, 2/1, won 6-runner handicap at Chelmsford City (6f) 15 days ago, kept up to work. Shortlist material with a 3 lb ruse perfectly fair (retains handicap scope). Had slipped in the weights prior to scoring at Chelmsford; should be thereabouts again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (6/1 +50%) Sacred Falls |
6/1(+50%) | (5) Sacred Falls 6/1, Latest win at Carlisle in May. Respectable fifth of 12 in handicap (7/1) at this C&D 6 days ago. Didn't get rub of the green here last time; ought to make her presence felt off same mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (3/1 +50%) Northern Spirit |
3/1(+50%) | (1) Northern Spirit 3/1, C&D winner. Latest win at York in September. 20/1, creditable fifth of 15 in handicap at Doncaster (6f, heavy) 13 days ago. This represents a big drop back in class so he's a major player. Creditable fifth in warm race at Doncaster last time; dual C&D winner; leading contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (18/1 -13%) Bowman |
18/1(-13%) | (6) Bowman 18/1, Creditable third of 9 in handicap (33/1) at Chelmsford City (6f) 41 days ago. Others more persuasive for all he's been holding his form pretty well. Hard to knock in terms of consistency but others appeal more for the win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (4/1 +50%) Last Outlaw |
4/1(+50%) | (3) Last Outlaw 4/1, 2 wins from 5 runs this year. 5/1, bit below form fourth of 9 in handicap at Nottingham (5f, soft) 16 days ago. Makes AW debut and return to 6f will certainly suit. Lightly raced 3yo; Nottingham winner in October; bit disappointing next time; AW debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (20/1 -67%) Bella Kopella |
20/1(-67%) | (7) Bella Kopella 20/1, Four-time course winner. Eighth of 10 in handicap at Beverley (5f, good to firm, 9/2) 83 days ago. Not taken lightly given he's in better heart than her form figures suggest. Goes well here, has fallen in the weights and has won after a break; interesting. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Last Outlaw is still of very low mileage and is one to monitor closely in the betting on his all-weather debut. However, there are many old hands for a race of this nature and the likes of last-time-out Chelmsford winner Monsieur Kodi, along with previous C&D scorer Alfa Whiteburd, also need taking seriously. However, slender preference is for NORTHERN SPIRIT, whose recent form has a strong appearance and he looks worth chancing off just 3lb above his last winning mark.
Plenty to consider but MONSIEUR KODI looked good back on the AW when cashing in on a drop in grade at Chelmsford a fortnight ago and his new mark looks well within his compass. Northern Spirit is used to competing in better races than this so he demands respect, with Bella Kopella one to consider at longer odds.
Course specialist Bella Kopella is feared but the vote goes to SACRED FALLS who didn't have much luck in running here six days ago.

2nd (5) (2/1 +20%) Dancing Teapot |
2/1(+20%) | (5) Dancing Teapot 2/1, Promising Camelot filly who shaped well when a debut second of 14 in maiden (17/2) at this course (7f) 14 days ago, best work finish. Yard in good form. Sure to improve, especially now her stamina is drawn out more. Interersting. Wide draw here makes life tougher but she looks very talented and is entitled to improve. |

14th (9) (250/1 -67%) Miss Susanna |
250/1(-67%) | (9) Miss Susanna 250/1, Twice-raced filly. 300/1, last of 11 in minor event at this course (6f) 7 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Has failed to beat a single rival home in two starts here (5f-6f); no chance. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
The twice-raced CAROLINA JETSTREAM can make it third-time lucky for the Adrian Murray stable. Third on her debut in what was arguably a strong maiden at the Curragh, the daughter of Pinatubo ran a big race when fourth on her first run on the Polytrack here last month. With the benefit of those experiences to call upon, she should be good enough to win. Stepping up to a mile for the first time in her career also looks a wise move. Recent runner-up Dancing Teapot is another who should benefit from the extra furlong. The Joseph O'Brien-trained filly flashed home when only just denied here earlier this month. Jamie Spencer is an intriguing booking on the Henry De Bromhead-trained Nuit. Third on her debut at Naas last month, the Sea The Stars filly is entitled to be sharper now.
DANCING TEAPOT was going on well at the finish when a promising debut second over 7f here and is fancied to take a sizeable step forward now upped to 1m. This daughter of Camelot gets the nod over form pick Carolina Jetstream with Nuit also firmly in the picture if, as expected, building on her debut Naas third. Debutantes Denim And Diamonds and Camevere also need factoring in, especially if the market speaks in their favour.
Classic-entered DANCING TEAPOT was an unlucky loser here over 7f on her debut but will relish the step up in trip.

17/2(+0%) | (12) Mr Trick 17/2, 50/1, creditable third of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 6 days ago. Well weighted if able to back that up. May cope with the drop back to 7f at this stiff venue; 4lb below last winning mark. |

4th (10) (10/1 -33%) Concert Boy |
10/1(-33%) | (10) Concert Boy 10/1, Twenty-nine runs since sole win, gained over C&D in 2023. Good second of 7 in handicap at this C&D (11/1) 15 days ago, running on. Not taken lightly for all he does need everything to fall right. Recent C&D form includes a couple of good seconds; still has a poor strike-rate. |

9/2(+18%) | (8) Muddy Lynn 9/2, Bounced back to form when winning 10-runner handicap at this course (6f) 24 days ago. Shortlist material up 4 lb returned to 7f. Steadily back to form in a light 2024 campaign, winning over 6f here most recently. |

5/1(+9%) | (3) Keep Me Stable 5/1, Three-time C&D winner. Latest win here in September. 7/2, second of 4 in handicap at this C&D 14 days ago, travelling powerfully. One to consider. Three C&D wins, the most recent in September; close second back here this month. |

10th (1) (28/1 -100%) Athollblair Boy |
28/1(-100%) | (1) Athollblair Boy 28/1, 11-time course winner. Last of 9 in handicap at this course (6f, 20/1) 14 days ago. Possibly needed that run after 11 weeks off and should run closer to form here. Multiple course winner but failed to beat a rival back here last time. |

11th (9) (33/1 -267%) Mumcat |
33/1(-267%) | (9) Mumcat 33/1, Course winner. 7/2, won 13-runner handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f). Off 7 months so market may prove to be the best guide. Absent since Wolverhampton win in April; has never won when fresh. |

12th (7) (28/1 -75%) Eyeeye |
28/1(-75%) | (7) Eyeeye 28/1, Remains a maiden after 17 Flat runs. 9/1, first run since leaving Thomas Mullins when seventh of 9 in handicap at this course (8f) 14 days ago. Cheekpieces on first time down in trip. 4yo maiden who recorded a poor RPR here two weeks ago on AW/stable debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
C&D winner CONCERT BOY has been running well in defeat of late and, with this not looking any tougher than some of his recent assignments, the well-handicapped son of Kodiac could be worth a shot in a wide-open contest. Muddy Lynn ran on well to score under this rider over 6f here last month and commands respect off just 4lb higher. Keep Me Stable and The Gay Blade are a couple of others to consider.
This looks open but Newcastle-specialist KEEP ME STABLE showed she's back in excellent nick when runnr-up here a fotnight ago and is taken to build on that. Muddy Lynn was strong at the finish when winning over 6f at the track last time so she's a danger, along with Mr Trick.
Attractively handicapped DRAFTED is taken to build on his latest effort and record a first win since joining Danny Brooke.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Well backed prior to finishing mid-division on her debut at Naas in August, STUDY THE LADY is likely to be a different proposition here. Ger Lyons has given the filly plenty of time to recover from those exertions and it is surely significant that he runs her again before the end of her juvenile campaign. Galway runner-up Permission Tospeak holds every chance for the in-form David Marnane yard. Only just denied on her most recent start, the daughter of Blue Point should be bang there under Leigh Roche. With an official rating of 78, Calrissiana sets the standard. A gradual improver who ran her best race to date when third at Leopardstown last time, the Too Darn Hot filly merits consideration.
A chance is taken on STUDY THE LADY to improve past form-picks Cal Rissiana and Permission Tospeak. Love Is Blind is another one with potential.
LOVE IS BLIND was an eyecatcher on debut at Galway and should step forward for a stable with a fine strike-rate on the AW

1st (4) (10/1 -122%) Tomorrow Day |
10/1(-122%) | (4) Tomorrow Day 10/1, Career best when winning 12-runner handicap (7/2) at this C&D 25 days ago, leading final 100 yds. Up 4 lb and every chance he can get involved with a fully-fledged rider back on board. 2-2 over C&D, both wins gained this autumn; folly to rule out. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (17/2 +6%) Gunnerside |
17/2(+6%) | (5) Gunnerside 17/2, Course winner. Ran well up against a much younger rival after just 3 days off when second of 10 in handicap at this course (7.1f, 11/2) 3 weeks ago. Course winner over 7f and second over that trip last time, but still capable over 6f. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (33/1 -65%) Badosa |
33/1(-65%) | (11) Badosa 33/1, C&D winner. 5½ lengths ninth of 12 to Tomorrow Day in handicap (9/1) at this C&D 25 days ago, not clear run 2f out. Easy to look elsewhere. 7lb lower than when winning over C&D in March, but not shown a great deal since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (4/1 +50%) Kapparis Kid |
4/1(+50%) | (3) Kapparis Kid 4/1, Temperamental sort. Twelve runs since last win in 2023. Ran well when fourth of 11 in handicap (5/2) at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 7 days ago, nearest finish. Player if building on that. 0-12 in handicaps but not beaten far at Wolverhampton a week ago; not dismissed easily. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (7/2 +22%) Ana Emaraaty |
7/2(+22%) | (7) Ana Emaraaty 7/2, 3/1, career best when winning 10-runner handicap at this C&D 24 days ago, suited by way race developed to lead final 100 yds. Looks competitive on form. 4lb higher than when successful over C&D last time; could again have race run to suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (12) (25/1 -79%) Evoluir |
25/1(-79%) | (12) Evoluir 25/1, Winner at Southwell in October. 8/1, creditable fifth of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 7 days ago. More required to double his tally. Won at Southwell last month, but just fair efforts in two starts for this yard since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (11/4 +39%) Supernova Steps |
11/4(+39%) | (1) Supernova Steps 11/4, Showed much improved form to get off the mark in 10-runner handicap (9/1) at Southwell (6.1f) 9 days ago. Carries penalty and could well more to offer on synthetics now she's up and running. Made a successful AW debut at Southwell nine days ago; respected despite the penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (50/1 -52%) Jems Bond |
50/1(-52%) | (10) Jems Bond 50/1, 3-time C&D winner. Sixteen runs since last win in 2023. Seventeenth of 18 in handicap (33/1) at Thirsk (6f, good to firm). Off 6 months and hard to fancy (has had a wind operation). Last five wins have come here, but has been off six months and undergone wind surgery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (2) (33/1 -200%) Monsieur Fantaisie |
33/1(-200%) | (2) Monsieur Fantaisie 33/1, Returned to winning ways making his first start at 7f since 2022 in 12-runner handicap at Southwell (7.1f, 16/1) when last seen 7 months ago. Nudged up 2 lb and should remain competitive provided he's ready to roll. Off since winning at Southwell in March, but can go well fresh; shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (8) (14/1 +0%) Arlington |
14/1(+0%) | (8) Arlington 14/1, Dual C&D winner, latest in August. 12/1, ran poorly when eleventh of 12 in handicap at Redcar (6f, good to firm) 3 months ago. Others more persuasive. 2-2 over C&D, but may need this after three months off. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Effective when fresh, Monsieur Fantaisie won gamely over 7f at Southwell but having never won races back-to-back, nor raced at this venue before, plenty needs taking on trust as he returns from a 236-day absence. Therefore, the far less exposed SUPERNOVA STEPS, who was a ready winner at the same venue last week, could be the way to go, with a 6lb penalty unlikely to be an issue. Fellow in-form contenders Ana Emaraaty and Tomorrow Day should also be competitive again.
Plenty of these arrive in form including SUPERNOVA STEPS, who took a step forward to get off the mark on his first attempt sprinting at Southwell recently and David Loughnane's filly can defy a penalty at the expense of Ana Emaraaty, who came with a wet sail having been outpaced early to score at Newcastle last month. Tomorrow Day and Kapparis Kid can both go well, too.
This can go to ANA EMARAATY, who remains unexposed as a sprinter and is taken to follow up last month's C&D success.

14/1(-17%) | (10) Jarvis Brook 14/1, Creditable sixth of 13 in handicap (10/1) at this C&D 16 days ago, left poorly placed. Can give a good account without posing serious threat to principals. Missed the break but stayed on well when only beaten 2l over C&D latest; could improve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) (14/1 +30%) Wrecking Ball Paul |
14/1(+30%) | (6) Wrecking Ball Paul 14/1, C&D winner. 2 wins from 6 runs this year. Thirteenth of 14 in handicap hurdle (10/1) at Kilbeggan (18.6f, good) 91 days ago. Off 91 days. Back down in trip. Below form latest Flat start and needs to bounce back. 15-length win here back in March; runs off the same mark; dangerous if allowed to dictate. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (11) (25/1 -56%) Suityourselfboss |
25/1(-56%) | (11) Suityourselfboss 25/1, Course winner. Bit below form eighth of 16 in handicap (12/1) at Cork (7f, good to firm) 72 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Fair effort when midfield at Cork on her return but she's not bred to get this far. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Runner-up in a stronger contest here last time, LETIZA can gain some form of compensation. The Henry De Bromhead-trained filly lost her race in the stalls, giving away many lengths at the start. Still having plenty to do early in the straight, she stayed on strongly in a manner that suggested she would appreciate stepping back up to this distance. Granted a better break, the four-year-old should prove hard to beat. Also taking minor honours in a better grade on his most recent run here, the Tony Martin-trained Pralognan has to hold strong claims. Although dropping down in trip, the top-weight should have the pace to cope with it. Wrecking Ball Paul is one who the others would do well not to allow an easy time of it on the front end.
PRALOGNAN is having only his second start since returning to Tony Martin, and is chanced ahaed of Letiza and Hurricane Helen.
A chance is taken on the consistent STORMIE OUTLOOK, who seldom runs a bad race and will take all the beating if she sees out the trip

1st (1) (5/4 +79%) Enough Already |
5/4(+79%) | (1) Enough Already 5/4, Fourteen runs since last win in 2023. Twelfth of 26 in handicap (50/1) at the Curragh (7f, good to soft) 19 days ago, keeping on having been left poorly placed. Effective at this longer trip and lurks on a handy mark if things drop right. Worth a second look. 3-24 on the AW, 12lb below last winning mark, ground no good the last twice, go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (6/1 0%) Elsa's Pride |
6/1(0%) | (2) Elsa's Pride 6/1, Course winner. Latest win here (10.7f) in September. Below form eighth of 14 in handicap (9/1) at this course (10.7f) 35 days ago. Likely type to bounce back. Won here off 4lb lower in September, no impact on latest, others may be better treated. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (13) (10/1 -82%) Imperial Miss |
10/1(-82%) | (13) Imperial Miss 10/1, Bit below form sixth of 13 in handicap (8/1) at this C&D 23 days ago, short of room over 1f out and making little impression. Remains early days at least and first-time blinkers could have positive effect here. Not discounted. Ran well over 10.5f here in September, 3lb lower now and blinkers go on, place claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (25/1 -79%) A Daughtersdelight |
25/1(-79%) | (9) A Daughtersdelight 25/1, 33/1, eighth of 9 in handicap at this C&D 7 days ago, headed under 2f out and soon beaten. Remains a maiden and overall record is a patchy one. Well beaten over C&D latest, Keane up but she needs more; tongue-tie and cheekpieces on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (6/1 +29%) Just Another Eagle |
6/1(+29%) | (11) Just Another Eagle 6/1, Bit below form eighth of 14 in handicap (13/2) at this course (10.7f) 16 days ago, merely closing up late. Needs a couple of these to falter. Ran on well over 10.5f here latest, this trip should suit, yard in form, can't dismiss. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (14/1 -87%) Lauroline |
14/1(-87%) | (7) Lauroline 14/1, Remains a maiden after 19 Flat runs. 15/2, seventh of 11 in handicap at this course (8f) 23 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Hood on 1st time. 0-11 on the AW, placed here in maidens at 7f-1m, hooded and goes up in trip, hard to fancy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (14) (12/1 -33%) Fine Print |
12/1(-33%) | (14) Fine Print 12/1, Still a maiden but ran up to best when third at Thurles (12.5f) on penultimate start last month. Not in same form when sixth of 9 in handicap (3/1) at this C&D 7 days ago but each-way claims if bouncing back. Disappointing on AW debut over C&D last week, career-low mark now but more needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (12) (12/1 -85%) Thegooseiscooked |
12/1(-85%) | (12) Thegooseiscooked 12/1, Visored for 1st time, good fourth of 12 in handicap (8/1) at this course (10.7f) 9 days ago, keeping on. Cheekpieces the headgear of choice now and this step back up in trip promises to suit. Shaped like this trip would suit the last twice, cheekpieces go on, claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (17/2 -42%) Nusra |
17/2(-42%) | (4) Nusra 17/2, C&D winner. 14/1, below form seventh of 17 in handicap at Tipperary (12.5f, soft) in May. Holding form well prior to that and not discounted returning from 6 months off having won this race last year. Won this last year off 47, lacks a run but has gone well fresh before, watch market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) (66/1 -65%) Tea Olive |
66/1(-65%) | (6) Tea Olive 66/1, Eleven runs since last win in 2023. Blinkered for 1st time, eleventh of 12 in claimer at this course (10.7f, 66/1) 35 days ago. Recent efforts hardly inspiring ahead of this. No impact in two runs for this yard, well beaten over 10.5f latest, others more likely. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (8) (33/1 -65%) Meritorious |
33/1(-65%) | (8) Meritorious 33/1, First run since leaving John McConnell when pulled up in novice hurdle (80/1) at Thurles (23f, good to soft) last December. Percentage call to look elsewhere on this belated return. No win since 2021, pulled up over hurdles on stable bow last year, hard to make a case for. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (3) (33/1 -136%) Turf Range |
33/1(-136%) | (3) Turf Range 33/1, 3-time C&D winner. Eleven runs since last win in 2023. Twelfth of 14 in C&D handicap in February and percentage call to look elsewhere now returning from 9 months on the sidelines. Three wins over C&D, well handicapped, has gone well fresh before, check the market. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Top-weight ENOUGH ALREADY can resume winning ways now faced with this significant step back up in trip. Noted staying on late in mid-division over 7f at the Curragh last time, the Ado McGuinness-trained gelding moves up five furlongs here. However, having been placed over this trip earlier in his career in Britain, the veteran is worth taking a chance with in what is arguably the weakest race he has contested for some time. Thegooseiscooked has shaped well enough on a couple of starts here to suggest she is worthy of consideration in first-time cheekpieces. The mare returns to this trip having shown ability over shorter since her return from an absence. Turf Range, who can run well fresh, is another to consider in a competitive heat.
ELSA'S PRIDE disappointed on her latest outing, yet she'd previously looked one to keep on side when scoring at this venue in September and, with the longer trip holding no fears, she's fancied to go well. Thegooseiscooked, Imperial Miss and Just Another Eagle are others to consider, with Enough Already another worth keeping an eye on.
Preference is for JUST ANOTHER EAGLE. Her yard is flying, the step up in trip should suit and Chris Hayes is a positive jockey booking
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
