1st (6) (6/5 +56%) Suitably Surprised |
6/5(+56%) | (6) Suitably Surprised 6/5, Runner-up on her final outing in points and left previous efforts under Rules behind when second over C&D from out of the weights 9 days ago. Now 4 lb lower and is an obvious player. Second to thriving rival over C&D nine days ago and effectively 4lb lower this time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (11/4 +8%) Foster's Fortune |
11/4(+8%) | (2) Foster's Fortune 11/4, Improved greatly for the switch into handicaps when winning in May and has run with credit on both starts since. Merits respect. C&D winner on handicap debut in May and back from break with two good runs last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (16/1 0%) I'm Too Tired |
16/1(0%) | (1) I'm Too Tired 16/1, Breakthrough success in this sphere came here in January. Hasn't fired since but worthy of a market check back at this track after 6 months off. 2m4f course winner in January but absent since a poor 3m run in April. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (7/1 -250%) Love True |
7/1(-250%) | (3) Love True 7/1, Fairly useful Flat winner at up to 13f in France. Improved on previous efforts in this sphere when third in a novice at Huntingdon 7 months ago and has the scope for better on handicap debut. Big player on comeback. Triple Flat winner in France; placed twice over hurdles in Britain; handicap debut today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (66/1 +34%) Solway Staree |
66/1(+34%) | (7) Solway Staree 66/1, Little form in bumper/over hurdles and looks firmly up against it again. Ten-race maiden who has struggled to get seriously competitive in all five handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (16/1 -45%) Inoue |
16/1(-45%) | (8) Inoue 16/1, Down the field in 2 bumpers for Stuart Crawford and yet to offer any encouragement over hurdles. Switches to handicaps with a tongue tie on. Well beaten in his three qualifying races and 7lb wrong for this handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (28/1 -229%) Three Platoon |
28/1(-229%) | (4) Three Platoon 28/1, Out of form when last seen in this sphere and failed to beat a rival on the Flat recently, so needs blinkers to have a positive effect if he's to make his presence felt. Dual AW winner this autumn but tailed off when back over hurdles; others look safer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (100/1 -100%) Gieves |
100/1(-100%) | (5) Gieves 100/1, Worcester hurdles winner last September and bettered his low-key chase debut third in a 2m Uttoxeter handicap in July. Poor efforts both starts since, though, leaving Ben Pauling prior to latest. Tailed-off outsider over fences on stable debut; back hurdling in refitted cheekpieces. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
LOVE TRUE took a big step forward when third at Huntingdon (winner followed up next time and second rated 124) and she makes plenty of appeal starting handicap life off a mark of 95, especially as Ben Smith takes a handy 8lb off her back. Foster's Fortune has posted a couple of solid placed efforts since winning over C&D in May and will likely give another good account, while Suitably Surprised also merits consideration following her recent track-and-trip second.
LOVE TRUE showed improvement when last seen 7 months ago and, based on her French Flat form, she could be well in here, so she's preferred to Suitably Surprised, who ran well over C&D (from out of the weights) last time and is now able to race from a lower mark. Foster's Fortune is another one to consider.
Foster's Fortune is respected but SUITABLY SURPRISED (nap) took a good step forward when second over C&D last week and gets the nod.

1st (13) (15/8 +53%) Typhoon Flyer |
15/8(+53%) | (13) Typhoon Flyer 15/8, Fairly useful form when placed all 3 starts in bumpers and shaped well on hurdles debut when third of 14 in a Ffos Las maiden (2½m, good) in May. Not at the same level back from a break at Worcester but he probably needed that and this drop in trip could prove to be a good thing. Placed in bumpers/2m4f maiden hurdles; drop in trip may help this keen goer; sets standard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (8/1 -60%) Inishnabro |
8/1(-60%) | (5) Inishnabro 8/1, Half-brother to a couple of winning hurdlers and won by a wide margin on the second of his 2 runs between the flags. Yard's strike rate over hurdles is pretty modest (stable enjoys more success over the larger obstacles) but he's one to note in the betting nonetheless. £43,000 buy after Irish point win in April; interesting to see what betting makes of him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (11) (13/2 +28%) Sun Art |
13/2(+28%) | (11) Sun Art 13/2, Hooded on debut (retained here) when coming home an encouraging enough sixth of 12 in a 2m Worcester bumper. Entitled to come on for that and he's well worth a second look now switched to hurdles. Showed ability on last month's bumper debut and no shock if he goes well on hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (22/1 -120%) Achille Des Rocs |
22/1(-120%) | (1) Achille Des Rocs 22/1, €80,000 3-y-o, Coastal Path gelding. Dam 2¼m hurdle/chase winner. Placed 3 times from 5 starts in maiden points and it'll be interesting to see which way he goes in the betting. Placed on three of five starts in Irish points; the betting should guide now hurdling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (5/1 +9%) Dark Mix |
5/1(+9%) | (4) Dark Mix 5/1, Narrowly prevailed in a 5-runner bumper on debut here last December, despite being sent off the outsider of the quintet. Struggled at Warwick the following month but that was in a significantly stronger race (also wasn't helped by taking a circuitous route) and he's of interest now hurdling. Course bumper winner on soft last winter; interesting hurdle newcomer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (125/1 -25%) Jingle Jangle Jet |
125/1(-25%) | (7) Jingle Jangle Jet 125/1, Showed modest form in a couple of bumpers but there have been no positives at all to take from his efforts over hurdles so far. Showed a bit in bumpers in 2023 but well held on completed start over hurdles this autumn. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (66/1 -32%) Jack Hoola |
66/1(-32%) | (6) Jack Hoola 66/1, Bought for £58,000 after finishing runner-up sole start in Irish points but sent off at 66/1 and was never really in the hunt on Rules debut in a Uttoxeter novice last month. Second in Irish point but well held on last month's Uttoxeter hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (12) (100/1 0%) Tony's Tipple |
100/1(0%) | (12) Tony's Tipple 100/1, Offered little both starts in maiden points and didn't fare any better sent hurdling on recent Rules debut at Warwick. No promise in two points and never involved when sixth of seven on recent hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (200/1 -300%) Rochester Brinks |
200/1(-300%) | (9) Rochester Brinks 200/1, Pulled up sole start in Irish points and it would be an understatement to say that he looked somewhat recalcitrant on Rules debut in a Uttoxeter bumper (pulled very hard and ran out before the halfway point). Hood worn that day is retained for this hurdles bow. Pulled up in point and hung violently right and ran off course in bumper on rules debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (9/4 -20%) Spirit Of Kinsale |
9/4(-20%) | (10) Spirit Of Kinsale 9/4, €115,000 3-y-o. Half-brother to 4 winners, including Welsh Grand National winner The Two Amigos, and fair hurdler/fairly useful chaser De Forgotten One. Obvious appeal on paper for in-form yard and confidence behind him in the betting would look highly significant. Rather belated debut but well bred and in-form yard gets lots of winners here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (33/1 +50%) Chilled Out |
33/1(+50%) | (3) Chilled Out 33/1, Winner of back-to-back 1¼m handicaps on first 2 runs for this yard during the spring. However, form has nosedived pretty badly since and, having offered little in half-a-dozen hurdles starts in Ireland, he is opposable back in this sphere. Dual Flat winner but didn't show much over hurdles when trained in Ireland. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (200/1 +0%) Chantilly Moon |
200/1(+0%) | (2) Chantilly Moon 200/1, Made frame on first of 2 starts in bumpers but pulled up both appearances over hurdles to date. Hooded on debut in this sphere prior to also tried in a tongue strap last time but goes without headgear this time. Pulled up in two hurdles this autumn and can only watch. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
An open contest, but DARK MIX won a bumper here at the end of 2023 and the son of Black Sam Bellamy is likely to prove competitive now hurdling. The headstrong Typhoon Flyer has placed on both starts over hurdles so far and can improve on his third at Worcester in September if settling better, while Sun Art is one to note on his hurdling debut.
As a half-brother to a Welsh Grand National winner it could be that SPIRIT OF KINSALE will also be at his best when eventually tackling the larger obstacles and faced with a stiffer test. Still, there is enough in his pedigree to suggest that there will be races to be won with him over hurdles in the meantime and the hint should be taken if the market speaks in his favour. Typhoon Flyer is feared most, while Kingsley and Sun Art can both be expected to leave their debut form well behind in time.
Typhoon Flyer is best of those with hurdle experience but doesn't set the bar high and is taken on with bumper winner DARK MIX.

1st (2) (1/6 +33%) Jet Of Dreams |
1/6(+33%) | (2) Jet Of Dreams 1/6, Got off the mark in 9-runner handicap chase at Hereford and improved again back from a break when following up at Sedgefield. Good placed efforts next 2 starts and excellent chance of resuming winning ways. Two wins over fences already this season and excellent chance of another. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (7/2 -17%) Thirtyfour Thirty |
7/2(-17%) | (1) Thirtyfour Thirty 7/2, Bumper/hurdles winner but offered little on return after 4 months off at Wincanton 4 weeks ago. Switches to fences now. Well held back from break last month and takes on an experienced rival on chase debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
JET OF DREAMS got up for second in this grade at Huntingdon earlier in the month and competes off the same rating. Warren Greatrex's six-year-old remains in good heart and might only need to produce a repeat of that display in order to regain the winning thread. Thirtyfour Thirty failed to fire on his first start for the Anthony Charlton stable, but he now makes his chasing bow and could put up a good fight.
An excellent opportunity for the in-form JET OF DREAMS to resume winning ways up against a chase debutant who offered little on his comeback over hurdles last month.
This looks a gilt-edged opportunity for JET OF DREAMS to gain a third chase win.

1st (2) (5/2 +9%) Mill Street |
5/2(+9%) | (2) Mill Street 5/2, Made frame on 3 of 4 starts in US Flat maidens and showed plenty to work on sent hurdling when runner-up at Newton Abbot in June. Sent off a well-backed favourite but fell well short of expectations at Stratford (16.3f, good) the following month but worth chancing to get back on track. Flat maiden in USA; second on jumps debut but well beaten last time; quite interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (4/1 +38%) Masonbrook Meadow |
4/1(+38%) | (8) Masonbrook Meadow 4/1, Fair maiden on Flat (stays 1¼m) who hit the frame on first 4 starts over hurdles. However, she ran badly in a much deeper event than she'd previously contested at Wincanton (15.2f, good) last month but can get back on track returned to calmer waters. Some promise over hurdles, but not progressed and pulled up last time; bit to prove now.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (4/1 +53%) Malinka |
4/1(+53%) | (1) Malinka 4/1, Fair Flat performer who made a winning debut over hurdles in smooth style after 11 weeks off for new yard at Cartmel in August, responding well. Disappointed under a penalty at Market Rasen the following month and finished well held back on the level at Catterick recently. Hood applied. Won at Cartmel on jumps debut but well beaten both starts since; could bounce back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (11/2 +31%) Trafalgar Square |
11/2(+31%) | (5) Trafalgar Square 11/2, Fair maiden at up to 1½m on the Flat and showed an aptitude for hurdling when second of 12 in juvenile at Market Rasen in June. Pretty disappointing in both codes since, however, first-time blinkers failing to have the desired effect at Newcastle (16.2f, good) a fortnight ago. Modest on the Flat; winner on jumps debut but hasn't progressed (tried blinkers latest). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (100/1 -355%) Sweet Soul Music |
100/1(-355%) | (4) Sweet Soul Music 100/1, Modest maiden on the Flat but lame when tailed-off last both starts at Newcastle this year. Offered little tried over hurdles over C&D (good to soft) recently so can only be watched. Modest on the Flat; well held over C&D on jumps debut; others appeal more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (3) (50/1 -52%) On The Bubble |
50/1(-52%) | (3) On The Bubble 50/1, 1m Flat winner at Redcar in May and made a successful start over hurdles at Hexham (2m, soft) the following month. Little encouragement to glean from 3 subsequent starts (previous 2 on the level last month) so the percentage call is to look elsewhere. 1m Flat winner; won modest event on jumps debut but has been well beaten since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (6) (2/1 0%) Vinny's Dream |
2/1(0%) | (6) Vinny's Dream 2/1, Fair form on Flat, running at least as well as previously when third in novice at Chelmsford (10f) 5 weeks ago, no extra final 100 yds. Worth a second look on hurdling debut for a yard adept with similar types in recent seasons. Lightly raced Flat maiden; best run at 1m2f on AW; quite interesting on jumps debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (28/1 -155%) Jailbird |
28/1(-155%) | (7) Jailbird 28/1, Modest handicapper on Flat (stays 1½m), cashing in on a reduced mark at Lingfield in July. Sold from Richard Bandey £11,000 last month and worth monitoring in the betting on hurdling debut. First-time tongue tie applied. 1m3f Flat winner in July; worth considering on jumps debut with tongue-tie tried. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
A chance is taken on VINNY'S DREAM, who has earned a rating of 73 on the Flat with three decent enough efforts and he looks the sort that should take to this sphere. It's also encouraging that his stable are currently two from three with their hurdle runners at this venue. Mill Street is interestingly Ben Pauling's only runner on the card and may bounce back from a disappointing effort at Stratford, while Masonbrook Meadow also holds claims on her best form.
MILL STREET fell well short of expectations at Stratford in July but having been freshened up since, Ben Pauling's charge is fancied to go one better than on hurdling debut at the expense of Vinny's Dream, who has run to a fair level on the Flat and represents a trainer adept with similar types in juvenile hurdles. Masonbrook Meadow can edge out Malinka for third.
Although disappointing last time MALINKA showed a fair level of form when winning on his hurdles debut and is taken to bounce back.

1st (4) (1/2 +13%) Rula Bula |
1/2(+13%) | (4) Rula Bula 1/2, From a good family and left her debut well behind when landing a mares' Warwick bumper last November. By no means disgraced in a couple of listed events since and she could prove to be a useful recruit to the hurdling ranks. Useful bumper winner who is the one to beat on hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (6/1 +14%) Fireball Frenzy |
6/1(+14%) | (6) Fireball Frenzy 6/1, Half-sister to 4 winners, including fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser Cyclop. Won sole start in Irish points during the spring but shaped as though amiss when pulled up on last month's hurdles debut at Chepstow. Point winner; better than being pulled up suggests on last month's hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (13/2 +0%) Zarhanya |
13/2(+0%) | (5) Zarhanya 13/2, Related to winners and showed a bit when seventh of 18 in a Cheltenham bumper in April, doing her best work late in a style which suggests this trip could suit now hurdling. Ran on for seventh in Cheltenham bumper in April; should have a future over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (22/1 +12%) Pepite De Saphir |
22/1(+12%) | (7) Pepite De Saphir 22/1, Probably more of long-term project judged on what she showed starting out in a mares' bumper at Newbury last December. No real encouragement on bumper debut last winter but she's bred to make a jumper. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (7/1 -75%) Natus Vincere |
7/1(-75%) | (2) Natus Vincere 7/1, Half-sister to 3 winners, including French hurdler/chaser Here I Am and modest chaser Khairagash. Decisive winner of her sole start between the flags in May and she's an intriguing prospect now embarking on a career under Rules. Won 3m Irish point on debut in May; that form possibly nothing special; check betting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (18/1 +82%) Rhiannon Ring |
18/1(+82%) | (3) Rhiannon Ring 18/1, From a good jumping family and finished runner-up sole start in Irish points last year. However, she hasn't shown much at all in 3 runs under Rules to date. Second in point but well held in bumper and two maiden hurdles last winter. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (150/1 +25%) After Midnight |
150/1(+25%) | (1) After Midnight 150/1, Has looked decidedly limited in a couple of bumpers and 3 starts in this sphere. Well held on completed start over hurdles in May and looks up against it again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (150/1 +25%) Tres Bien |
150/1(+25%) | (8) Tres Bien 150/1, Showed a bit when third in a Newton Abbot bumper on debut but has gone sharply downhill since, pulled up switched to hurdles the last twice. Has undergone a wind op. Pulled up in both maiden hurdles and recent wind op needs to make big difference. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
A bumper winner at Warwick, RULA BULA finished runner-up in a Listed bumper at Sandown in March. A bold bid looks on the cards if translating that ability to hurdling and she gets a confident vote. Zarhanya finished with a late flourish in a Cheltenham bumper on her debut in April and is another likely to improve now tackling hurdles for the first time, while point-to-point winner Natus Vincere is related to winning hurdlers in France and is respected.
Given the level of ability she showed in bumpers, RULA BULA will likely prove hard to beat now upped in trip for this hurdles debut, provided of course that her jumping passes the test. Natus Vincere was a clear-cut winner of an Irish maiden point and she is respected given her status as that of an unknown quantity, while Zarhanya showed definite signs of ability in a Cheltenham bumper during the spring and she could be seen in a better light now hurdling and faced with a stiffer test.
This looks a good chance for useful bumper performer RULA BULA to become another maiden/novice hurdle winner from the O'Neill stable.

1st (1) (4/1 +11%) American Land |
4/1(+11%) | (1) American Land 4/1, Lightly raced 6-y-o who was given a considerate return from 6 months off when third in a Wincanton maiden hurdle (15.2f) in October. Pulled up making handicap chase debut back at that venue 18 days ago but returns to hurdles with his yard continuing amongst the winners. Pulled up chasing last time but his previous third in a maiden hurdle brings him into this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (4/1 +60%) Phoenix Risen |
4/1(+60%) | (3) Phoenix Risen 4/1, Dual C&D winner during early 2023 and creditable efforts over hurdles/fences earlier this year. Disappointed in pair of outings at Newton Abbot in July but return to this venue a definite plus if ready to roll after 4 months off. Dual C&D winner but tailed off over fences and hurdles in his last two races. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (40/1 +0%) Galactic Glow |
40/1(+0%) | (9) Galactic Glow 40/1, Modest winner at 10f on the Flat but remains with little form in this sphere, well held at Newton Abbot (16.7f) in July. Comes here fit from Flat but hard to recommend operating from long way out of the weights. Low-level Flat performer who is 17lb out of the handicap for this return to hurdling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (7/1 -211%) Ugo Bingo |
7/1(-211%) | (4) Ugo Bingo 7/1, Fair form when winning sole Flat start in France and having been brought along gradually in this sphere, he ran his best race when third on handicap debut at Fakenham (2m) 15 days ago. Tongue strap goes on now and his rider takes off a handy 7 lb. Not discounted. 1m4f winner; improved form last time when making the frame in a Fakenham handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (11/4 +66%) Go On Ya Goodthing |
11/4(+66%) | (8) Go On Ya Goodthing 11/4, Modest maiden hurdler for David Brace and similar form over both sets of obstacles for new yard in recent months. Cheekpieces added to usual tongue tie here. 11-race maiden under rules and yet to show any improvement since moving yards. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (7/1 +7%) Mr Zee |
7/1(+7%) | (6) Mr Zee 7/1, Fair handicapper on the Flat, successful 3 times last year. Winless to date in this sphere but did produce one of his better recent efforts when fourth of 15 in handicap at Exeter (18.5f) 23 days ago. However, not for the first time he didn't look entirely straightforward under pressure. It wasn't a bad latest run at Exeter when a 14l fourth of 15; each-way claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (6/1 +25%) Diva B |
6/1(+25%) | (7) Diva B 6/1, Blue Bresil filly who failed to improve for switched to a handicap after 6 months when seventh of 11 at Huntingdon (19.6f) 37 days ago. Eased 3 lb at least ahead of this and that ought to have blown the cobwebs away. Back down in trip. Lightly raced but beaten 20l on her handicap debut and dropped just 3lb for that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (66/1 -164%) Stray Bullet |
66/1(-164%) | (5) Stray Bullet 66/1, Fair winner on Flat in France. Well held in trio of juvenile hurdles last autumn and already on the retreat when falling after 8 months off on handicap debut at Exeter (16.7f) 5 weeks ago. Blinkers go back on. Won twice on the Flat in France but a disappointing hurdler; lots to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (12/1 -118%) Mordred |
12/1(-118%) | (2) Mordred 12/1, Successful in small field contests over hurdles/fences in 2022. Lightly raced since but ran well to finish placed in pair of handicap chases for new stable this summer. Subsequent efforts can be overlooked and he's worth a second look back over smaller obstacles. Down 3lb in future and only previous hurdle win came in a three-runner race. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Ugo Bingo made the frame on his handicap debut at Fakenham last month and should mount a bold bid in a first-time tongue-tie. However, it may pay to side with AMERICAN LAND, who ran too bad to be true when pulled up on his chasing debut at Wincanton last time. If the six-year-old can bounce back, it would be no surprise to see him score off a mark of 98 back over hurdles. Mordred is another to consider.
Having run well to finish placed on his first 2 starts over fences for new connections this summer, MORDRED hasn't been seen to best effect on each of his last 2 starts in that sphere. He could be worth chancing switched back to timber, with Ugo Bingo and American Land a couple of the likelier dangers. Phoenix Risen is another not dismissed back at this venue.
Joe Tizzard's AMERICAN LAND needs to put a poor chase debut behind him but his previous third in a maiden hurdle was encouraging.

1st (3) (3/1 +25%) Natural Ability |
3/1(+25%) | (3) Natural Ability 3/1, Maiden hurdler/chaser in Ireland who showed first solid form after 5 months off/for new yard when fourth of 10 in handicap chase at Sedgefield (16.4f). Might have been amiss next time and has since changed yards again. Worth another chance. 0-8 over fences but chance on his C&D 4th two runs back; pulled up next time; yard debut. |

2nd (2) (10/3 +49%) Socks Off |
10/3(+49%) | (2) Socks Off 10/3, Won handicap hurdle here almost 2 years ago but was well held sent chasing by new connections after 17 months off at Market Rasen 30 days ago. Visored for 1st time. 2m4f hurdles winner; made a few mistakes when sixth of eight on chase debut; visor tried. |

3rd (6) (7/2 +46%) Miss Fedora |
7/2(+46%) | (6) Miss Fedora 7/2, Got back on track reverted to hurdling when landing 8-runner handicap at Cartmel (17.2f, soft) in August. Below form next 2 starts, however, including back over fences last time (lower in the weights in this sphere). Better handicapped over fences than hurdles; excuses for latest heavy defeat; a possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (11/4 +31%) Cofficionado |
11/4(+31%) | (8) Cofficionado 11/4, On the back of a breathing operation, he found only one too good on handicap debut at Market Rasen in May. Has failed to scale those heights since (hooded on latest) and now attentions are turned to the larger obstacles. Has shown promise on a few occasions over hurdles; worth considering on his chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (11/1 +67%) Darkest Day |
11/1(+67%) | (4) Darkest Day 11/1, Out of sorts since second start this season so plenty to prove sent chasing. Four-time hurdle winner at up to 2m4f; out of form since Perth 2nd in June; chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (5) (33/1 +34%) Fllana Bay |
33/1(+34%) | (5) Fllana Bay 33/1, Poor maiden hurdler who makes little appeal on chase bow. 13-race maiden; failed to complete on last 3 hurdle starts; hard to fancy on chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (16/1 +36%) Edmond Dantes |
16/1(+36%) | (7) Edmond Dantes 16/1, Went close over hurdles at Hexham last summer but it's been all downhill since, including back over fences latest. Dual Flat winner; 0-16 over jumps, including two chase attempts; hard to fancy. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Dropped into class 5 company for the first time since winning easily at Southwell in June, NEIGH BOTHA is fancied to give weight and a beating to these rivals. He certainly wasn't disgraced in a 0-120 event, also at Southwell, most recently and the handicapper has been kind in dropping him 3lb in the ratings since. Natural Ability might have been freshened up by a recent stable switch and a repeat of his penultimate fourth over C&D should put him on the premises. A switch to fences may spark some improvement from the four-year-old Cofficionado.
NEIGH BOTHA is creeping back down to his last winning mark so gets the vote down in class. Natural Ability and Miss Fedora are feared most in a weak event.
Despite his patchy profile over hurdles a chance is taken on COFFICIONADO on his chase debut. Neigh Botha is next best.

1st (3) (11/10 +60%) Montregard |
11/10(+60%) | (3) Montregard 11/10, Just second handicap when winning 11-runner contest in first-time cheekpieces at Wetherby in March. Followed that with a good effort at the Punchestown Festival and while he failed to land a blow on debut in this sphere back at Wetherby last month, this 5-y-o remains of interest. Needs to jump with greater fluency than on his chase debut but cheekpieces could help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (7/1 -27%) Inoui Machin |
7/1(-27%) | (1) Inoui Machin 7/1, Dual bumper winner who scored twice over hurdles last season, namely a Hereford maiden in March and a Kempton handicap 2 months later. Certainly built to make a chaser but he didn't take particularly well to fences upped to 3m on debut in this sphere at Ludlow 3 weeks ago. Yard also runs Kelce. Not written off but hard to be confident after last month's chase debut, when tailed off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (5/4 +62%) Moon Hunter |
5/4(+62%) | (2) Moon Hunter 5/4, Winning pointer who was 2-5 over hurdles and didn't shape at all badly on chase debut at Cheltenham last October. However, he has looked rather laboured since, including on return at Chepstow. Hopes here pinned on the first-time cheekpieces giving him a lift, which is not an impossibility. 0-5 over fences but last month's reappearance fourth at Chepstow is working out nicely. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
KELCE was caught in the closing stages at Hexham last week having led for most of the way and Neil Mulholland's inmate looks to have solid claims of going one better off his current mark. Moon Hunter faces an easier task than when fourth at Chepstow last month and first-time cheekpieces may bring about some improvement, while Montregard returned a losing favourite at Wetherby on his chasing bow but should be wiser for that run.
KELCE has produced two bold front-running performances since tackling the larger obstacles and he is taken to make it third time lucky in this sphere. Forget Montregard's chase debut display at Wetherby, as this half-brother to top-class performer Protektorat will likely leave that form well behind here and he is the clear main danger. Moon Hunter has the ability to feature if responding well to the first-time headgear but Inoui Machin's debut effort over fences was somewhat inauspicious.
Preference is for KELCE who has been a good second on his two recent starts and is taken to get off the mark.

1st (5) (18/1 +55%) Jukebox Annie |
18/1(+55%) | (5) Jukebox Annie 18/1, Landed a 3-runner bumper at Newton Abbot last September but failed to repeat that effort in a more competitive event at Hereford a month later and struggling when falling 2 out on C&D hurdles debut 12 months ago. Absent since and she's best watched. Bumper win came in very weak race and held when falling on C&D hurdle debut a year ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (6/1 0%) Loki's Mischief |
6/1(0%) | (2) Loki's Mischief 6/1, Ran to a fair level when runner-up on the first of 2 starts in bumpers. Looked more about stamina than speed when plugging on for fourth on hurdles bow in an Exeter maiden (18.5f) 23 days ago though, so this drop back in trip may not suit ideally. Promise in bumpers but ran to a barely modest level when fourth on Exeter hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (10/11 +55%) Kauto The King |
10/11(+55%) | (1) Kauto The King 10/11, Bolstered his impressive strike rate over fences at Newton Abbot in August and similar form when second at Exeter (19.2f) last month. Struggled with rise in class at Wincanton 18 days ago but he looks up to playing his part returned to smaller obstacles now. Ten chase wins last seen hurdling in 2020; likely the main threat to Tuxedo Junction. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (40/1 +39%) Astro Babe |
40/1(+39%) | (4) Astro Babe 40/1, Didn't offer a great deal of encouragement in bumpers/novice hurdles for Evan Williams and similar story since belatedly returning to action for David Pipe in recent months. Passed over now starting out for another new yard. Hood back on. Poor form over hurdles for Evan Williams and David Pipe; starts for another yard now. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
TUXEDO JUNCTION improved on his first start over hurdles to occupy the runner-up berth at Wincanton last time and he could take another step forward. David Pipe's five-year-old looks to have been found an ideal opportunity and can open his Rules account. Kauto The King sets the standard with a rating of 110 and is an interesting contender switching back to hurdles from fences, while Loki's Mischief is another to note.
TUXEDO JUNCTION stepped up a little on his hurdling debut effort when runner-up in a big-field novice at Wincanton 18 days ago and, with further progress in the offing, he looks the way to go. 10-y-o Kauto The King is better known as a fair handicap chaser but may well emerge as the chief threat returned to smaller obstacles.
This looks an excellent opportunity for TUXEDO JUNCTION to go one better than at Wincanton last month.

1st (5) (10/3 +49%) Reel Rosie |
10/3(+49%) | (5) Reel Rosie 10/3, Fairly useful handicapper on the Flat (stays 1½m) and some promise when fourth of 10 in mares' maiden at Uttoxeter (15.8f, good to soft) on hurdling debut 13 days ago. Could be in the mix as she goes up in trip. Quite useful on the Flat; never-dangerous fourth on hurdles debut but better is likely. |

2nd (7) (15/8 +38%) Winds Of Winter |
15/8(+38%) | (7) Winds Of Winter 15/8, More encouragement since switched to handicaps, including when runner-up at Perth (20.2f) on stable debut in September. Ran to similar level when third at the same course (16.2f, soft) last time and she can give her running again back in a maiden. Ex-Irish; placed in 2 handicaps at Perth for this yard (first over 2m4f); each-way chance. |

3rd (2) (6/4 +67%) Devon Skies |
6/4(+67%) | (2) Devon Skies 6/4, Well held in 2 bumpers but offered more when fourth in maiden at this course (16.8f) on hurdling debut. Ran to similar level when second at Newcastle (16.2f, good) 2 weeks ago and she promises to be suited by this step up in trip. Respected. Career-best when second at Newcastle two weeks ago (2m1f); longer trip should suit; chance. |

4th (8) (16/1 +52%) Crackerjack Queen |
16/1(+52%) | (8) Crackerjack Queen 16/1, Failed to complete both starts in points, having every chance when falling the second time. Is bred to stay well and shaped accordingly when ninth of 12 in mares' bumper at Uttoxeter on Rules debut last month. Upped in trip for her hurdles bow. Failed to complete in two points; well beaten on bumper debut; should improve now hurdling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (28/1 +15%) Myfavouritesister |
28/1(+15%) | (4) Myfavouritesister 28/1, From the family of yard's star jumper The Real Whacker but didn't make much impact in a pair of bumpers in the spring, before hanging badly left when tailed off at Aintree on return. Has work to do sent hurdling. Modest form in three bumpers and needs to do better now going over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (14/1 -100%) Trysting Thorn |
14/1(-100%) | (6) Trysting Thorn 14/1, Making third start in bumpers, showed improved form when third of 12 in mares' event at this course last month. Bred to be suited by this longer distance as she makes hurdling debut. Improved form when 3rd in a 2m1f bumper here latest; perhaps best watched on hurdles debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (100/1 +0%) Florita |
100/1(+0%) | (3) Florita 100/1, Runner-up on the last 2 of her 3 starts in points but has finished well held both starts in maiden hurdles, the latest at this course (16.8f, soft) last month. Looks to be up against it. Runner-up in two Irish points but modest efforts over hurdles and hard to fancy. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
DEVON SKIES bumped into a useful prospect when a well-held second over 2m1f at Newcastle a couple of weeks ago and a repeat of that form may be good enough in this company. That said, Dazzlelikethis showed ability despite falling on her only start between the flags and she should not be underestimated on her Rules debut. Others to note are Winds Of Winter and Trysting Thorn.
Representing last year's winning trainer/jockey combination, DAZZLELIKETHIS held every chance when falling at the last in an Irish point and she could be capable of making a successful start over hurdles. Devon Skies bumped into a promising type on her second outing over hurdles and is feared most, ahead of Reel Rosie.
The vote goes to the Flat winner REEL ROSIE who should improve on her Uttoxeter effort. Devon Skies is next best.

1st (2) (6/5 +36%) Eyed |
6/5(+36%) | (2) Eyed 6/5, Fair hurdler/chaser for Paul Webber and, on the back of another round of wind surgery, he made a positive start for this yard when chasing home Camino Rocio at Wincanton (20.2f, good). The winner gave that form a boost when winning again on Tuesday and this 7-y-o is very high on the shortlist. Runner-up on last month's stable debut at Wincanton and could have more to offer for yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (4/1 +0%) Zmiinyi |
4/1(+0%) | (5) Zmiinyi 4/1, Went close on second of his 2 starts between the flags and, though it's been all rather low-key over hurdles so far, there was some promise in his latest handicap debut sixth at Exeter. May do better now switched to the larger obstacles. Well beaten on all 4 hurdle runs but this point runner-up could improve for going chasing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (12/1 -9%) Caro Des Flos |
12/1(-9%) | (7) Caro Des Flos 12/1, Veteran who registered the first leg of a Market Rasen double last winter in this corresponding race. Not disgraced by any means when fifth of 10 back from a 4-month break at Ludlow and, down another 3 lb, he's dangerous to discount back at his old stomping ground. Won this last year and could improve for last month's Ludlow 5th, which came after a break. |

4th (6) (18/1 +45%) Jumbo Veste Verte |
18/1(+45%) | (6) Jumbo Veste Verte 18/1, Still looking for his first success (0-8 over hurdles) and will need to raise his game in order to make a winning chase debut. Encouraging start to handicap hurdle career early this year but form gone wrong way since. |

125/1(-25%) | (10) Scottsdale 125/1, Remains winless following 19 attempts in this sphere and looks set for another struggle from 8 lb out of the weights. 11yo; 0-19 over fences and sole hurdle win came back in 2019; 8lb out of the handicap here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (22/1 +0%) Hey Day Baby |
22/1(+0%) | (8) Hey Day Baby 22/1, Former point winner looked a different proposition on second chase start when cruising home over this C&D in August. However, her overall profile is hardly convincing and she has been pulled up both subsequent starts. Pulled up on three of her last four starts but in among those she won over C&D. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (4/1 -14%) Kankin |
4/1(-14%) | (1) Kankin 4/1, Modest chaser who edged ahead close home to double his tally at Fakenham in May. Resumed with a good second off this mark at Plumpton (19.8f, good to soft) and should make his presence felt here, too. Runner-up to well-treated winner at Plumpton last month and holds strong claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (12/1 -71%) The Electrician |
12/1(-71%) | (4) The Electrician 12/1, Notched third success over fences when winning by a wide margin over C&D during the spring. Didn't run at all badly when third of 10 back from a break returned to this course in September and he's an each-way player off the same mark. Won over C&D in May and creditable third here last time; might not be far away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (14/1 -40%) Unwanted Attention |
14/1(-40%) | (3) Unwanted Attention 14/1, Opened chase account over C&D in June, following which he was placed at Cartmel and Stratford. Went off too hard at Chepstow (23.6f, good to soft) under a conditional rider last time and interesting back down in trip in this slightly lower-grade handicap. Front-runner who won over C&D (good) in June; good to soft ground perhaps not ideal latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (80/1 -142%) Ironhill |
80/1(-142%) | (9) Ironhill 80/1, Bumper winner who was just poor under Rules and, though successful on final outing for Michael Scudamore at Worcester in August 2023, there were no positives to glean from his debut for this yard at Ayr recently. Won in August 2023 but pulled up at Ayr 12 days ago on his only outing since. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Kankin bumped into a subsequent winner when finishing runner-up over an extended 2m3f at Plumpton on his return last month and, off an unchanged mark, he must enter calculations for all that a more fluent round of jumping will be required. EYED is narrowly preferred. He made a pleasing start to life with this stable when finishing second over 2m4f at Wincanton recently and, off the same mark with the promise of more to come, he looks the one to be with. Zmiinyi is noted too.
EYED couldn't match strides with Camino Rocio on debut for Hughie Morrison at Wincanton but, with the winner going in again off a 7 lb higher mark at Huntingdon this week, that form looks solid. The 7-y-o is taken to go one better here. Kankin did little wrong when runner-up at Plumpton last time and he should go well. Zmiinyi is interesting now switched to fences and merits respect, along with each-way players Caro des Flos, The Electrician and Unwanted Attention.
Alex Hales is among the winners and KANKIN (nap) is taken to go one better than when a clear second at Plumpton last month.

1st (3) (13/8 +7%) Alexei |
13/8(+7%) | (3) Alexei 13/8, Fairly useful 4-time winner on Flat in Germany (stays 1½m). Best effort when third in handicap at Dusseldorf (10.9f) back in April and he's an intriguing contender now hurdling for in-form yard having been gelded. Tongue strap fitted. Four Flat wins in Germany and recently won a charity race which should have done him good. |

10/11(+52%) | (2) Tout Sur Moi 10/11, Showed promise in bumpers and similar story in trio of starts in maiden hurdles earlier this year. Similar form when third on return/handicap debut at Wincanton (21.3f) 4 weeks ago and he remains with potential now pitched back in to maiden company. Placed in a maiden here before again finishing third in a 2m5f Wincanton handicap. |

3rd (1) (100/1 -52%) Talap |
100/1(-52%) | (1) Talap 100/1, Fairly-useful Flat winner for David Pipe but showed little all 3 starts over hurdles for this yard, well-beaten ninth of 13 in a C&D novice back in April. Can only be watched returning from 6 months off. Multiple Flat winner but has no worthwhile form over hurdles since moving yards. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (4) (5/1 -167%) Gore Point |
5/1(-167%) | (4) Gore Point 5/1, Flat-bred gelding who got back on track following 10 months off when winning 5-runner bumper at Stratford (16.3f, good to soft) 38 days ago, making all and quickening clear straight. In good hands and another of interest now hurdling. Stratford bumper winner who should be able to make his mark over hurdles. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Tout Sur Moi sets the standard with an official rating of 106. The five-year-old ought to hold every chance if running to that mark today, but GORE POINT looks a real danger. Anthony Honeyball's charge made all to win a bumper at Stratford last month and should Rex Dingle employ similar tactics on this hurdling bow, the gelding might be tough to peg back. Joe Tizzard has started the season in flying form and four-time Flat winner Alexei should be monitored in the betting market with that in mind.
GORE POINT got firmly back on track after 10 months off when making all in a 5-runner Stratford bumper 38 days ago and he gets the narrow vote now hurdling with his yard continuing amongst the winners. Tout Sur Moi remains open to improvement in this sphere and has to be factored in. Alexei, a fairly useful, multiple winner on the level in Germany also commands respect, particularly if strong in the betting on debut for Joe Tizzard.
Tout Sur Moi sets the standard but it's not an insurmountable one and this could go the way of German Flat winner ALEXEI.

2nd (1) (15/8 -15%) Zwicky |

His jumping continues to look an issue but step up in trip will suit. Three hurdle wins; off the mark over fences here last time (2m5f); good chance up in trip. |

3rd (2) (2/1 -45%) Illogical Logic |
2/1(-45%) | (2) Illogical Logic 2/1, Lightly-raced maiden who made his first impact over fences when good second of 6 in handicap at Fakenham (24.2f, good) 15 days ago. Big chance of going one better with headgear applied. 0-10; good second over 3m last time; longer trip will suit; headgear tried; big player. |

4th (3) (7/2 +50%) Lady Mendoza |
7/2(+50%) | (3) Lady Mendoza 7/2, Nine-race maiden over hurdles and looked unconvincing on switch to this discipline last 2 starts. Others more appealing. Winning Irish pointer; fair chase run at Newcastle last time; new headgear; a possible. |

|PU| (4) (6/1 +25%) Croagh Patrick |
6/1(+25%) | (4) Croagh Patrick 6/1, On a long losing run and pulled too hard in this headgear at Newcastle 2 weeks ago. Dual 2m4f chase winner; well behind Lady Mendoza last time (2m7f); others stronger. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Zwicky has to be of interest having won over 2m5f here last month, but this step up in trip is a slight concern. With that in mind, preference is for ILLOGICAL LOGIC, who was second off this mark at Fakenham a couple of weeks ago and he may improve for the application of first-time cheekpieces. The rest all have questions to answer, but Lady Mendoza is the pick of them.
ILLOGICAL LOGIC is getting the hang of things over fences now and this looks a good opportunity if he responds well to the cheekpieces. Zwicky is the obvious threat in a thin event.
This longer trip should prove ideal for ZWICKY who is taken to follow up his 2m5f course win. Illogical Logic is next best.

3/1(+0%) | (1) Tribal Glory 3/1, Point winner who landed a Worcester bumper last summer. Has filled the runner-up spot in a pair of Newton Abbot maidens switched to hurdles in recent months. First run for yard after leaving John Joseph Hanlon. Worth monitoring in the betting. Reluctant to race latest so risk attached, but he won at Downpatrick in August; yard debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Point-to-point and bumper winner TRIBAL GLORY has hit the woodwork on his last couple of runs, but he has hinted at a decent level of ability on numerous occasions. Pitched into handicap company for the first time, he could return to winning ways here. Bread And Butter is officially 6lb well-in after a Hereford victory last week in a conditional jockeys' race, and he should prove popular. Kosasiempre is also noteworthy.
BREAD AND BUTTER capitalised on a falling mark with something to spare in a conditionals race at Hereford 10 days ago and, having escaped a penalty, he's worth a chance to go in again under the same rider. Tribal Glory and Kosasiempre look the main dangers.
Bread And Butter escapes a penalty for his recent win but this could go to KOSASIEMPRE, who is undefeated in two visits here.

7/2(-17%) | (6) School For Scandal 7/2, Not the most reliable (sulks if unable to dominate) but he's gelled well with this rider on his last 2 starts, scoring at Wincanton (25.1f, good) 28 days ago by 1½ lengths from subsequent winner Jony Max. 5 lb better off with that rival here so needs considering. Wincanton winner who looks closely matched with Jony Max; obvious claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (3/1 -71%) Jony Max |
3/1(-71%) | (4) Jony Max 3/1, Took advantage of reduced mark at Warwick 9 days ago and no surprise were he to defy a penalty having dropped so far in the weights. Recent Warwick winner; well handicapped even with a penalty now he's turned a corner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (5/2 +38%) Lock Out |
5/2(+38%) | (3) Lock Out 5/2, Firmly back on track when making a winning return in handicap chase at Chepstow (23.6f) under this rider. Unable to land the odds off 5 lb lower at Hereford 3 days later, a shorter trip on quicker ground seeming to count against him. Worth another chance despite revised mark. 10lb rise has kicked in since his Hereford defeat, a run that could be excused. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (7/1 +7%) Gentleman Jacques |
7/1(+7%) | (1) Gentleman Jacques 7/1, Made the frame in bumpers and several hurdles for Charlie Longsdon but has become disappointing and made an underwhelming start over fences on second start for this yard at Southwell last month. Just an okay chase debut but on career-low mark and could improve for going this far. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (5) (4/1 +60%) Stiletto |
4/1(+60%) | (5) Stiletto 4/1, Modest maiden hurdler who exited just as things were beginning to unfold on chase bow at Exeter 5 weeks ago. Longstanding maiden and a mid-race departure on last month's chase debut is worrying. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (50/1 -150%) Blackhillsofdakota |
50/1(-150%) | (2) Blackhillsofdakota 50/1, Heavy defeats both starts over fences for this yard in 2021 and, after a 20-month absence, he offered little back over hurdles last summer. Returning from another absence here so easy enough to look elsewhere. Stopped the rot last time at Worcester (third) but bit to prove with blinkers back on. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
School For Scandal defeated Jony Max, who went on to record success of his own at Warwick next time, at Wincanton last month. The latter might be 2lb well-in under a penalty, but he is worse off with School For Scandal and might need more to reverse the form. Both merit respect, but it is LOCK OUT who shades preference. A comfortable winner at Chepstow last month, David Pipe's charge seemingly missed a golden opportunity to follow up quickly when turned over at Hereford three days later. However, he's back up in trip and should go very close.
SCHOOL FOR SCANDAL isn't the most reliable but he held off subsequent winner Jony Max by 1½ lengths at Wincanton 4 weeks ago and is 5 lb better off with that rival here. Lock Out is worth another chance to build on his winning return having had excuses at Hereford.
Last week's Warwick winner JONY MAX (nap) has turned a corner and, although penalised, he's still very well handicapped on old form.

1st (10) (10/11 +60%) Clean Getaway |
10/11(+60%) | (10) Clean Getaway 10/11, Has done well over fences this year and capitalised on this lenient hurdling mark with something to spare here last time. This is a bit tougher but due to be 10 lb higher and must have solid claims. Escapes a penalty for last week's comfortable course win and is 10lb well in. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (40/1 +0%) Achnamara |
40/1(+0%) | (3) Achnamara 40/1, Fair handicapper on Flat who landed back-to-back 2m handicaps at Catterick/Musselburgh in July. Has struggled since, including on first start back with this yard here 9 days ago. Just a respectable sixth behind stablemate Clean Getaway here (2m1f) last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (2/1 +50%) Morandi Second |
2/1(+50%) | (7) Morandi Second 2/1, Good second in 2m Doncaster handicap hurdle in January 2023. Has largely struggled since but was much improved to score at Catterick on the Flat last time, so makes plenty of appeal from a lenient mark. Improver on the Flat since blinkers were added; has first hurdle run in that headgear here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (150/1 -500%) Supreme Authority |
150/1(-500%) | (6) Supreme Authority 150/1, Has shown nothing to date over hurdles and looks up against it again. Struggled to get competitive in five maiden hurdles for Stuart Crawford; stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (20/1 -100%) Ginger Pointe |
20/1(-100%) | (9) Ginger Pointe 20/1, Made a winning yard/chase debut at Market Rasen (21.4f) in August and run to a similar level both completed starts since, latest when creditable fourth of 10 in handicap chase at same course. Unseated recently and returns to hurdling now. In good form over fences for new stable since August; back hurdling off a lower mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (12) (28/1 -75%) Swift Reply |
28/1(-75%) | (12) Swift Reply 28/1, Poor maiden hurdler who made an inauspicious chasing debut last month. No surprise he's back in this sphere but others look better treated. Good second at Kelso last month but pulled up here on subsequent chasing debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (33/1 -65%) Upfordebate |
33/1(-65%) | (4) Upfordebate 33/1, Didn't get home when stepped up to 3m at Perth on handicap debut two months ago. Back down markedly in trip now and still unexposed. Ran better than 20l defeat suggests on handicap debut (3m) but others appeal more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (14/1 -17%) Star Vantage |
14/1(-17%) | (8) Star Vantage 14/1, Maiden and last season was a write-off but he's probably not badly handicapped and almost certainly needed the run on debut for this yard 17 days ago. Tongue tie on now. 0-11 over hurdles but travelled well to a point on recent seasonal/stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) (6/1 -20%) Blended Stealth |
6/1(-20%) | (11) Blended Stealth 6/1, Remains a maiden after 31 NH runs. Very good second of 9 in handicap hurdle at Hexham (16.2f, good to soft, 7/2) 6 days ago. Back up in trip. Enters calculations. 0-27 over hurdles but 4lb ahead of the handicapper after going close at Hexham on Friday. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (40/1 -150%) Mystic Man |
40/1(-150%) | (5) Mystic Man 40/1, Modest chaser who wasn't seeing his races out when last seen and has a bit to prove back over hurdles having left Harry Derham cheaply. Sold out of Harry Derham's stable for £3,000 after a disappointing run last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (125/1 -150%) Bamboo Bay |
125/1(-150%) | (2) Bamboo Bay 125/1, Well held over hurdles when last seen and latest Flat effort doesn't inspire any confidence of a revival. Three Flat wins; very unexposed on decent ground over hurdles but still looks risky. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|RR| (1) (100/1 -400%) Sefton Warrior |
100/1(-400%) | (1) Sefton Warrior 100/1, 0-19 over hurdles but has been running respectably, sixth at this course 44 days ago. First run for this yard after leaving John Joseph Hanlon. Second at Worcester in September but left Shark Hanlon with hurdling strike-rate of 0-19. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
It is hard to oppose CLEAN GETAWAY, who followed up his chase win last month with an impressive hurdles victory over 2m1f here last week. The seven-year-old does not have to carry a penalty for that success and is 10lb well-in as a result. Blended Stealth is likely to be in the mix once again, while Sefton Warrior could make the frame if back to his best.
MORANDI SECOND posted an impressive display to score on the Flat last time and, with blinkers retained, he makes plenty of appeal back in this sphere. Clean Getaway, off the same mark as when scoring here last week, and Blended Stealth are dangerous.
There is no strong temptation to oppose CLEAN GETAWAY, who escapes a penalty for his comfortable course win nine days ago.

1st (8) (11/8 +54%) Happy Index |
11/8(+54%) | (8) Happy Index 11/8, Confirmed promise of yard debut when winning 11-runner handicap hurdle at Perth in September. Up 9 lb for that but remains of firm interest up in trip. Won by 6l at Perth last time; hit with 9lb rise but could have more to offer for yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (4/1 +67%) Geordie Night |
4/1(+67%) | (2) Geordie Night 4/1, Unexposed 5-y-o who was unsuited by steady gallop when seventh of 14 on handicap debut at Market Rasen (18.6f, good to soft) in March. Failed to back that up next time and might need this after 6 months off. Soundly beaten in both h'caps but today's return to better ground might be in his favour. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (33/1 -200%) Ithaka |
33/1(-200%) | (4) Ithaka 33/1, Slipping in the weights and there was a glimmer of encouragement when a distant third at Perth last time. Refitted with tongue strap and worth a market check. Perth last time was a step back in the right direction, but he needs to take another today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (22/1 +33%) G'day Aussie |
22/1(+33%) | (5) G'day Aussie 22/1, Veteran now but has shaped as if retaining ability both starts this season, albeit his latest effort came only 2 days ago. Others make more appeal. Stayed on for fair 2m5f fifth at Hereford on Tuesday but others have more pressing claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (8/1 +20%) I Got Stung |
8/1(+20%) | (3) I Got Stung 8/1, Offered a bit more than previously when fourth of 15 in a Ludlow novice in October but hasn't fired in handicaps since. Might strip fitter for his return at Ludlow, though. Fair reappearance run at Ludlow last month and he may be able to build on that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (66/1 -100%) Natchez Trace |
66/1(-100%) | (1) Natchez Trace 66/1, Fair winner at 12f on Flat who has just run to a modest level at best in this sphere and was below form at Cartmel in July. Poor efforts on the Flat lately and others make more appeal. Showed promise in a maiden hurdle in June but has struggled in both codes more recently. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (8/1 -220%) No Worries |
8/1(-220%) | (9) No Worries 8/1, 8/1, improved to win 11-runner handicap hurdle at Huntingdon (19.6f, good) 37 days ago. That was impressive and he deserves respect after a rise. Won by 6l at Huntingdon last month and this in-form 10yo is entitled to respect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (13/2 -18%) Western Glen |
13/2(-18%) | (7) Western Glen 13/2, Remains winless following 13 attempts over hurdles but she has been knocking on the door, set for second when falling over C&D last time. One to consider. 0-15 but running well in defeat in recent months and she's a likely player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (16/1 -129%) East Eagle |
16/1(-129%) | (6) East Eagle 16/1, Creditable second of 12 in handicap hurdle at this C&D (good, 40/1) 30 days ago, running on. Lightly raced and could build on that, so capable of making his presence felt. Pretty encouraging second over C&D on handicap debut and he's not ruled out. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
NO WORRIES was doing his best work late on when coming clear of the field to land the spoils over an extended 2m3f at Huntingdon last month and, stepping back up in trip, he gets the nod to make light of a 7lb rise. Perth scorer Happy Index is respected most of the remainder despite a 9lb hike, while East Eagle found only a subsequent winner too good over this track and trip last month and also commands respect.
Last-time-out winners HAPPY INDEX and No Worries could dominate this, with preference for the former, who is the less exposed of the pair. Western Glen has been holding her form well and should make her presence felt if none the worse for a recent fall here.
The lightly raced 5yo GEORDIE NIGHT retains potential and is taken to make a winning return now back on better ground.

1st (6) (22/1 -22%) Chabadatika |
22/1(-22%) | (6) Chabadatika 22/1, Fair winning hurdler in France but little encouragement for current connections (including in chases). Back from a break having dropped in the weights. Ex-French mare; has failed to complete in her last three starts, all chases. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (3/1 +40%) Linda Moon |
3/1(+40%) | (1) Linda Moon 3/1, Posted a couple of respectable efforts when last seen in the spring but looked in the grip of the handicapper and needs the step up in trip to bring about improvement. Solid latest handicap run (in May) and should have no trouble staying this longer trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (7/2 -40%) Hedera Park |
7/2(-40%) | (4) Hedera Park 7/2, Gained compensation for her final-flight fall at Worcester earlier in the season when winning 18-runner handicap hurdle at Chepstow (19.4f, good to soft, 22/1) last week, suited by strong pace. Has to be respected under a penalty. From off the pace she won last week at Chepstow; essentially off the same mark here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (11/8 +54%) Getmetothemoon |
11/8(+54%) | (5) Getmetothemoon 11/8, Justified support in 12-runner handicap hurdle at Stratford following a short break in June and backed that up with a good third at Newton Abbot a fortnight later. Still to be asked for her effort when falling 3 out back at former track on most recent outing and remains of firm interest. Had a good summer, on a good mark but will have to click with new 10lb partner Chad Bament. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (7/1 +13%) Fashionelle |
7/1(+13%) | (2) Fashionelle 7/1, Off the mark at Worcester in September, proving a different proposition under a more positive ride. Ran at least as well under a penalty when finding only an unexposed one too strong at Warwick (19f) but found run of good form coming to a halt at Southwell last time. Bounce back needed. Bang in form until last time and unlikely that it was her new mark to blame. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (18/1 -50%) African Lady |
18/1(-50%) | (7) African Lady 18/1, Modest maiden who has made little impact in 4 starts for current yard, including in a first-time tongue strap at Uttoxeter (15.8f) 13 days ago. Back up in trip. Beaten 13l on stable debut in August and hasn't been as good since. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
HEDERA PARK benefitted from a patient ride when landing a big-field handicap at Chepstow recently, an effort for which Debra Hamer's mare must shoulder a 7lb penalty. Callum Pritchard negates that burden in the plate courtesy of his claim and she appears to have been handed a fine opportunity. Linda Moon has few miles on the clock and looks set to improve for a step up in trip, while Getmetothemoon is another to consider.
GETMETOTHEMOON was still to be asked for her effort when falling 3 out at Stratford on her most recent outing in July and remains unexposed, so she makes plenty of appeal returning from a break with her yard amongst the winners. Hedera Park is respected under a penalty for last week's Chepstow success, with handicap-debutant Sweet Caryline also of interest.
This is open despite the small field. LINDA MOON could be an improver over this longer trip and is worth chancing.

4th (9) (11/4 +8%) Magic Glow |
11/4(+8%) | (9) Magic Glow 11/4, Promising start when runner-up in a Wolverhampton maiden (7f) in September. Left poorly placed and never figured when seventh of 10 over same C&D 6 weeks ago but a repeat of her debut form gives her sound claims here from a handy draw. Fair form over C&D on debut but below that level here last time; claims if back to best. |

9th (6) (16/1 -129%) Casual Encounter |
16/1(-129%) | (6) Casual Encounter 16/1, Foaled February 27. Passing Glance filly. Half-sister to 11.4f winner City Spirit. Dam maiden (stayed 1¾m). Bred to stay well but she wouldn't need to be anything out of the ordinary to figure on debut in a race lacking depth. Has stamina in pedigree but has to be considered in this ordinary event on debut. |

11th (14) (4/1 +20%) Sheephavenbaystory |
4/1(+20%) | (14) Sheephavenbaystory 4/1, Land Force filly. Hooded 1st time, showed something like debut form when third of 11 in maiden (11/1) at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 40 days ago, leading briefly 1f out and no extra late on. Claims of making the frame again. Best effort over C&D last time (form franked) but widest draw could prove troublesome. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
MRS DOWLEY shaped with considerable promise when third over 6f on her racecourse bow at Wolverhampton on Monday. Michael Bell's juvenile ought to improve for the step up in trip and, from a handy draw, she can go in at the second time of asking. Magic Glow failed to build on a promising debut performance but she can undoubtedly play a leading role if racing more amenably this time around. Of the newcomers, Queen Sansa and Casual Encounter make the greatest appeal.
Having showed ability when runner-up on debut, MAGIC GLOW wasn't seen to best effect when seventh in a Wolverhampton maiden over this sort of trip 6 weeks ago. She's worth another chance from a handy draw with Rossa Ryan in the plate. Mrs Dowley can emerge as the chief threat of the others with experience. Antalya, Casual Encounter and Queen Sansa are a trio of newcomers to note in the betting for clues.
Although she disappointed last time, the suggestion is MAGIC GLOW, who showed fair form here on debut and gets the nod.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Space Trooper hit the woodwork at Newcastle last month and ought to be more than capable of going one better, but a chance can be taken on WAITING FOR LOVE. The Muharaar filly has all-weather winners in her pedigree and the fact that James Doyle arrives here for just this ride is perhaps a tip in itself. Needlepoint made a winning racecourse debut at Chantilly last June and warrants a market check on her return from a lengthy absence.
NEEDLEPOINT looked potentially useful when making a winning debut as a 2-y-o at Chantilly last summer and can defy a penalty despite her long absence. The progressive Space Trooper is next best.
Easily most seems to depend on whether NEEDLEPOINT returns on song after the 515-day absence following her winning debut in France.

14/1(-17%) | (5) Revolutionise 14/1, C&D winner. Latest win at Brighton in September. 16/1, respectable fourth of 10 in handicap at this C&D 35 days ago. Now 3 lb below last winning mark on all-weather. Knows how to win but below best on AW on last two starts; may find one or two too good. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (5/1 +9%) Ultramarine |
5/1(+9%) | (6) Ultramarine 5/1, Course winner. 3 wins from 21 runs this year. Good second of 11 in handicap (14/1) at Kempton (6f) 15 days ago, caught further back than ideal. Can make presence felt. All wins have been on AW and ran well over 6f last time; return to 7f ideal and a player. |

3rd (1) (11/1 -120%) Riot |
11/1(-120%) | (1) Riot 11/1, 3-time C&D winner. Latest win at Doncaster in June. Respectable fifth of 12 in handicap (40/1) at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 24 days ago. Took this race 12 months ago and he's one to consider here. Multiple turf/AW winner who ran respectably after a short break over this trip last time. |

4th (7) (9/2 +36%) Extrication |
9/2(+36%) | (7) Extrication 9/2, Creditable second of 8 in handicap at this C&D (16/1) 28 days ago, left poorly placed. Less exposed than most he meets here and worth a second look for all his draw could have been kinder. Yet to win and drawn wide but shaped better over C&D last time and gets Rossa Ryan up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (18/1 -80%) Airshow |
18/1(-80%) | (10) Airshow 18/1, C&D winner. Latest win at Salisbury in August. Creditable third of 10 in handicap at this C&D (13/2) 14 days ago, no extra well inside final 1f. Largely dependable sort but the assessor looks to have him about right at present. Knows how to win and this largely consistent sort should give it best shot once again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (11/2 +31%) Chola Empire |
11/2(+31%) | (3) Chola Empire 11/2, C&D winner. 25/1, creditable fourth of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 24 days ago. Can give another good account for all his present mark looks about right. Reliable sort who is closely matched with Riot on latest Wolverhampton form; player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (2/1 +43%) Arctic Dawn |
2/1(+43%) | (8) Arctic Dawn 2/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 5/1, returned from 8 months off with a respectable third of 11 in handicap at Doncaster (7f, heavy) 19 days ago. Bred to be useful and he appeals as the type to progress further for his good yard. Respected back on all-weather. Lightly raced sort who ran respectably on turf/handicap debut last time; claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (9/1 +10%) G'daay |
9/1(+10%) | (4) G'daay 9/1, 3-time C&D winner. Latest win at Lingfield in August. Below form fifth of 10 in handicap at this C&D (11/2) 35 days ago, weakening final 1f. Others more persuasive. Triple C&D winner who returned to winning ways on turf in summer; below best last time. |

9th (11) (40/1 -60%) Gaiety Musical |
40/1(-60%) | (11) Gaiety Musical 40/1, Fair filly. 13/2, below form third of 9 in seller at Leicester (7f, heavy) 30 days ago. Work to do returned to handicap company. Has shown ability on turf/AW but yet to win and stable companion Ultramarine appeals more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (9) (40/1 -21%) Tyke |
40/1(-21%) | (9) Tyke 40/1, Well served by a positive ride when opening his account on turf at Doncaster (6f) in May. Well held next 2 starts and, following 3 months off, he came in last of 11 in handicap at Kempton (7f) 5 weeks ago. All 4 career victories have come at 6f. All wins have been over 6f and stamina still to prove over this trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
After a couple of close-up seconds on the all-weather earlier in the year, ARCTIC DAWN shaped with promise when third on his handicap debut off 1lb higher at Doncaster last month. That form has been boosted by the runner-up scoring since and this unexposed three-year-old has scope for improvement following that first run in over seven months. That said, Ultramarine continues to run with credit and he looks sure to mount another stern challenge, along with C&D winner Airshow.
Low-mileage 3-y-o ARCTIC DAWN just about matched his previous best on the back of an 8-month absence when third on handicap debut at Doncaster 3 weeks ago. Remaining with potential back on synthetics, he could be the answer. Last year's winner Riot arrives on the back of a solid run at Wolverhampton and rates a big threat. Ultramarine is another to consider.
This can go to ULTRAMARINE (nap) who ran well over 6f at Kempton last time and he'll be suited by the return to this longer trip.

1st (2) (2/1 +71%) Manara |
2/1(+71%) | (2) Manara 2/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 80/1, last of 11 in novice at Newmarket (6f, good to soft) 13 days ago. Significantly up in trip for this nursery debut. Worth a second look. Ability at moderate level on AW; should be suited by stepping into handicap/longer trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (9/1 -80%) Flaine |
9/1(-80%) | (6) Flaine 9/1, Lightly-raced winner. First run since leaving Tom Dascombe when landing a 10-runner nursery (9/1) at Southwell (7.1f) 10 days ago. More will be needed under a penalty but she has to enter calculations nonetheless. Improved on stable debut when winning at Southwell last week; step up to 1m could suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (4/1 +33%) Respiro Solitario |
4/1(+33%) | (1) Respiro Solitario 4/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Tongue strap on for 1st time, creditable fourth of 9 in nursery at Wolverhampton (8.6f, 22/1) 40 days ago. Has to be taken seriously. Well beaten on AW debut but much better effort in tongue-tie last time and can do better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (40/1 -150%) Galette |
40/1(-150%) | (9) Galette 40/1, Below form seventh of 14 in nursery (50/1) at Brighton (7f, good to soft) 37 days ago, slowly away. Cheekpieces on 1st time and she again looks vulnerable. Progressive on first three turf starts but well beaten so far in nurseries; lot to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (10/1 +0%) Advertorial |
10/1(+0%) | (8) Advertorial 10/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 200/1, sixth of 13 in novice at Kempton (7f) 29 days ago. Needs to raise her game now tried in a nursery. Hasn't shown much so far but she could take a big step forward now handicapping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (9/1 -64%) Cassandraalexandra |
9/1(-64%) | (7) Cassandraalexandra 9/1, Winner at Brighton in September. Respectable fifth of 12 in nursery at Southwell (7.1f, 9/2) 21 days ago. Looks competitive on form. Below pick of turf form on both AW starts; best watched upped in trip from widest draw. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (12/1 -85%) Stormy Lady |
12/1(-85%) | (3) Stormy Lady 12/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 200/1, eighth of 13 in maiden at Kempton (8f) 86 days ago. Open to improvement now pitched into a nursery off a realistic opening mark. No more than a hint of ability over 7f and 1m but type to do better now handicapping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (11) (10/3 +76%) Cuban Lynx |
10/3(+76%) | (11) Cuban Lynx 10/3, 25/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, bit below form seventh of 12 in nursery at Southwell (7.1f) 21 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Craig Lidster. Others more persuasive. Has shown ability and has changed stables since last run; not certain to stay this far. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (25/1 -150%) Follow Your Dream |
25/1(-150%) | (5) Follow Your Dream 25/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Last of 13 in novice (125/1) at Kempton (8f) 36 days ago. Interesting to see how she fares in the betting ahead of this nursery debut, particularly in relation to stablemate Respiro Solitario. Achieved little over 7f and 1m but one of a number who could do better now handicapped. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (200/1 -506%) Bolly Dolly |
200/1(-506%) | (10) Bolly Dolly 200/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 10¼ lengths ninth of 10 to Flaine in nursery at Southwell (7.1f, 28/1) 10 days ago. Makes polytrack debut and cheekpieces back on. Others preferred. Hint of promise on debut but well beaten since, including on nursery/AW debut last time. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Flaine made a highly encouraging start for the David Loughnane yard when scoring by a length over 7f at Southwell earlier in the month and she should go well, despite her 6lb penalty. However, a chance can be taken on STORMY LADY, who has failed to fire in her three starts to date but she might prove a different proposition now tackling nurseries. With the booking of Rossa Ryan catching the eye, she could produce an upset. Any market confidence behind Follow Your Dream would be interesting.
STORMY LADY and Manara can both be expected to up their game now switched to a low-grade nursery, with marginal preference for the former. Respiro Solitario will be a threat if able to build in his creditable Wolverhampton effort, while Cassandraalexandra and recent Southwell winner Flaine are others to consider.
It's worth siding with MANARA who has shown ability and should be suited by the step up to this trip on nursery debut.

1st (1) (15/2 -7%) Elterwater |
15/2(-7%) | (1) Elterwater 15/2, 5/1, below form fourth of 10 in handicap at Kempton (12f), doing too much too soon. Off 8 months and significantly down in trip but she will have a fighting chance if fully tuned-up for this assignment. Moderate maiden; drops a fair way in distance and best watched after a layoff. |

2nd (3) (11/4 +39%) Kessaar Power |
11/4(+39%) | (3) Kessaar Power 11/4, C&D winner. Latest win here in October. Good second of 5 in handicap (9/1) at this course (7f) 7 days ago. Shortlist material. Both AW wins have been at this venue and touched off here last week; 2lb well in. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (11) (50/1 -52%) Rising Force |
50/1(-52%) | (11) Rising Force 50/1, Course winner. Thirteen runs since last win in 2023. Eighth of 9 in handicap at this C&D (50/1) 28 days ago. Easy enough to look elsewhere. Only one win (over 7f here) from 20 starts; easy to take on judged on recent form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (9/2 +44%) Cherry King |
9/2(+44%) | (9) Cherry King 9/2, Lightly-raced maiden. Fourth of 7 in handicap (5/1) at Lingfield (7f, AW) 71 days ago, left poorly placed. Not without each-way hope. Unexposed sort who has shown ability in handicaps and won't mind the return to 1m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (8/1 +20%) Heerathetrack |
8/1(+20%) | (2) Heerathetrack 8/1, Course winner. 6/1, respectable seventh of 12 in handicap at Kempton (7f) 15 days ago, hampered. Shouldn't be too far away but will probably a find a few too good all the same. Dual 7f winner in January and stays this trip; below best last time but usually reliable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (13/2 +35%) United Force |
13/2(+35%) | (7) United Force 13/2, C&D winner. Creditable sixth of 14 in handicap at Kempton (8f, 12/1) 8 days ago, needing stronger gallop. Can give a good account without posing serious threat to principals. Notched first AW win over C&D penultimate run; bit below that last time but can't rule out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (20/1 -186%) Meng Tian |
20/1(-186%) | (6) Meng Tian 20/1, 15/2, creditable 2½ lengths second of 10 to Kessaar Power in handicap at this C&D 19 days ago. Looks competitive on form. Both AW wins came on Tapeta but mainly respectable efforts this year; should run well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (18/1 +10%) Peter Piper |
18/1(+10%) | (5) Peter Piper 18/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Last of 11 in handicap at Lingfield (10f, AW, 28/1) 61 days ago and looks set for another struggle. Respectable effort on AW/handicap debut but below that last time; down in trip/grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (12) (18/1 -80%) Eagle Landed |
18/1(-80%) | (12) Eagle Landed 18/1, Creditable fourth of 10 in handicap (15/2) at Yarmouth (8f, soft) 30 days ago, running on. Record now stands at 0-15 but he's in with an each-way shout. Yet to win but mainly respectable efforts in handicaps; each-way prospects. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (4) (4/1 -33%) Dashing Donkey |
4/1(-33%) | (4) Dashing Donkey 4/1, Latest win at Yarmouth in July. 2/1, good second of 10 in handicap at Yarmouth (8f, soft) 30 days ago. 0-4 on the AW but he performed with credit when third over 7f here on penultimate start. One to consider. Won twice at Yarmouth in summer and solid run there last time; claims back here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (8) (40/1 +20%) This Time Maybe |
40/1(+20%) | (8) This Time Maybe 40/1, Hooded for 1st time, ninth of 11 in handicap at this course (7f, 66/1) 28 days ago. Readily passed over. Inconsistent and regressive maiden who looks the yard second string. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (10) (100/1 -52%) Rainbow Mirage |
100/1(-52%) | (10) Rainbow Mirage 100/1, Seventeen runs since last win in 2022. Last of 14 in handicap at Kempton (8f, 50/1) 8 days ago. Something to find on form. Has had plenty of chances since last win over two years ago; best watched again. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Kessaar Power was denied by just a short head when second over 7f at this venue last week and he holds an obvious chance off an unchanged mark, but DASHING DONKEY makes slightly more appeal. William Stone's three-year-old hit the crossbar in this grade at Yarmouth last month and competes off only a 1lb higher rating this evening. With a repeat of that performance, he could be the one to beat. Elterwater is another to keep an eye on.
This drop back in trip could be just the ticket for ELTERWATER, who understandably wilted in the closing stages upped to middle distances in handicaps at Southwell and Kempton last winter. Provided she is ready to roll following an eight-month absence, she could prove hard to peg back if again ridden aggressively. Kessaar Power quickly returned to form when going close here last week and he looks set for another bold show. Dashing Donkey is another in-form contender with appealing claims.
This can go to dual turf winner DASHING DONKEY, who ran well at this venue in September and is capable of better.

7/1(-40%) | (7) Fantasy Master 7/1, 5/2, career best when winning 6-runner handicap at Nottingham (5f, soft) 15 days ago, just holding on. Potentially well in from lower AW mark. Won on turf last time but AW form falls a long way short of pick of efforts on grass. |

2nd (10) (5/2 +79%) Rebel Path |
5/2(+79%) | (10) Rebel Path 5/2, Twelve runs since last win in 2021. 25/1, bit below form fifth of 11 in handicap at this C&D 28 days ago. Others preferred. Not won for over three years but has run well on turf and AW this year; Sean Levey back on. |

11/4(-22%) | (1) Flying Fletcher 11/4, Promising type. Career best when winning 7-runner handicap at Newcastle (6f) 9 days ago, well on top finish. More to come and looks the one to beat under a penalty. Best effort to win at Newcastle last week and 2lb well in ahead of this Polytrack debut. |

4th (2) (11/2 +31%) Justcallmepete |
11/2(+31%) | (2) Justcallmepete 11/2, C&D winner. Latest win at Newbury in September. 11/2, creditable sixth of 12 in handicap at Southwell (6.1f) 21 days ago. Blinkers back on. Worthy of consideration. Will have to be back in top form if he's to win this from double-figure draw. |

5th (6) (12/1 -50%) Happy Tears |
12/1(-50%) | (6) Happy Tears 12/1, C&D winner. Winner here in August. Bit below form third of 8 in handicap at Bath (5.7f, soft, 7/1) 14 days ago, running on. Not ruled out. C&D winner on second run for yard; drawn wider this time but may be capable of better. |

6th (4) (12/1 -71%) Daytona Lady |
12/1(-71%) | (4) Daytona Lady 12/1, C&D winner. 4 wins from 17 runs this year. Latest win at Wolverhampton in September. 16/1, good second of 8 in handicap at Southwell (6.1f) 10 days ago. One to consider. Can miss the break but seems to like it here; good run last week and 2lb ahead of mark. |

Tongue strap back on. Triple turf winner who is on a handy mark for AW/stable debut; market likely to guide. |

9th (8) (20/1 0%) She's Centimental |
20/1(0%) | (8) She's Centimental 20/1, 11/1, eighth of 10 in handicap at Southwell (6.1f) 80 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Alice Haynes. Hood back on. Decent AW strike-rate; form patchy since April but on a handy mark for new yard. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
FLYING FLETCHER struck in smart style in this grade at Newcastle earlier in the month and he might have plenty more to offer on only his fifth handicap start. The son of Muhaarar carries a 6lb penalty but that may not be enough to prevent him going in again. Fantasy Master was successful in a stronger contest than this at Nottingham last month and provided he can transfer that form to the all-weather, then he could have a say. Happy Tears completes the shortlist.
FLYING FLETCHER was well on top at the finish at Newcastle 9 days ago and, with more to come, he's preferred to Fantasy Master, who returns to the AW from a lower mark having scored off 5 lb higher at Nottingham recently. Daytona Lady can also be considered.
In a tricky handicap it could be worth going with SHE'S CENTIMENTAL, who starts life with her new stable on a handy mark.

Worth a chance to turn the tables from an excellent draw. War Zone holds him on recent C&D form but on a good mark and has won under Rossa Ryan. |

3rd (9) (10/1 -11%) Battle Point |
10/1(-11%) | (9) Battle Point 10/1, One win from 29 Flat runs. Thirteen runs since last win in 2023. Creditable 1¼ lengths fourth of 9 to War Zone in handicap (20/1) at this C&D 14 days ago. The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
War Zone has to be respected having got off the mark over C&D two weeks ago, but the three-year-old could be vulnerable off his new mark. With that in mind, preference is for MARCUS, who was beaten half a length into third that day and is 3lb better off with the winner. Battle Point edges out Enchanted Night and Suanni to be the pick of the rest.
SUANNI hasn't been quite at his best of late but wasn't discredited last time and he's been dropped a couple of pounds, so he's worth taking a chance on from a good draw. War Zone and Marcus were ahead of the selection that day and they're likely to feature.
Darryll Holland's SUANNI made all on the previous occasion he was partnered by Rossa Ryan and gets the vote from a good draw.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
SEMSER was only beaten a neck when second in a selling handicap over course and distance last month and that form gives him a big chance here, despite a 1lb rise. Sunset In Paris is an obvious threat to the selection having won two of his last three starts on the level, while Mhajim and River Alwen are others who merit a place on the shortlist.
GLOBAL RESOLVE has dropped to a tempting mark so could be worth chancing in a change of headgear. Mhajim and Semser were both arguably unlucky last time and they head the dangers.
Sunset In Paris and SEMSER stand out in this line-up as multiple AW winners and might be the pair to focus on.
Ths is the racecard key.
