1st (9) (150/1 -127%) Ask Her Out |
150/1(-127%) | (9) Ask Her Out 150/1, Ask mare. Dam point winner, half-sister to smart hurdler/useful chaser (stays 3m) Meister Eckhart (by Flemensfirth). Wouldn't be an obvious winner of a AW bumper first time up on paper.
2nd (7) (4/1 +88%) The Glen Rovers |
4/1(+88%) | (7) The Glen Rovers 4/1, 10,000 gns 3-y-o, Dark Angel gelding. Dam, useful 1m winner, half-sister to fairly useful chaser (2m winner) Deadly Approach.
3rd (10) (9/2 -260%) By The Grace |
9/2(-260%) | (10) By The Grace 9/2, Blue Bresil filly who showed plenty of ability only to be held back by inexperience when finishing runner-up at Southwell (15.8f, good) 6 months ago, just lacking the gear change of the experienced winner. Every chance she can go one better on return.
4th (11) (50/1 -100%) Dropitlikeitshot |
50/1(-100%) | (11) Dropitlikeitshot 50/1, Pour Moi filly. Half-sister to useful chaser Tile Tapper, stays 4¼m, and fair hurdler Hot Ryan, stayed 3¼m. Dam 23f chase winner. Wears tongue strap. Stacks of stamina in her pedigree.
5th (14) (7/4 +42%) Solid Silver |
7/4(+42%) | (14) Solid Silver 7/4, Kendargent mare. Half-sister to 8.6f-1¼m winner Hector's Here. Dam 2-y-o 6f winner. Both of yard's 2 bumper runners in the last 5 seasons won so she's of firm interest starting out here.
6th (3) (13/2 -8%) I'd Go Maniac |
13/2(-8%) | (3) I'd Go Maniac 13/2, £30,000 3-y-o, Bow Creek gelding. Dam, 17f-21f hurdle/chase winner, half-sister to smart hurdler/very smart chaser (15f-2¾m winner in France) Saint Goustan Blue. Considered newcomer.
7th (8) (150/1 -200%) Wonder King |
150/1(-200%) | (8) Wonder King 150/1, Creachadoir gelding who shaped a bit better than the distance beaten suggested when well held on debut at Worcester (16f, soft) 5 weeks ago, dropping away tamely in the straight. Easy to look elsewhere.
8th (12) (125/1 -150%) Elyssia |
125/1(-150%) | (12) Elyssia 125/1, Champs Elysees filly. Dam unraced.
9th (6) (7/2 +13%) Seaside Legend |
7/2(+13%) | (6) Seaside Legend 7/2, Adlerflug gelding who had had a breathing operation prior to his debut and shaped as if the run was needed when runner-up at Hereford (16.2f, soft) 12 months ago. Bled at Fontwell back in February and has had another wind op prior to this reappearance. Might be vulnerable.
10th (5) (33/1 -65%) Minella Miracle |
33/1(-65%) | (5) Minella Miracle 33/1, Runner-up on last of 3 starts in Irish points. Looked hard ride fitted with tongue tie when third of 8 in maiden bumper at Southwell (20/1) in July, dropping away when headed over 1f out having refused to settle.
11th (1) (250/1 -67%) D'ambonnay |
250/1(-67%) | (1) D'ambonnay 250/1, Half-brother to useful hurdler Ingleby Spirit and fairly useful hurdler Norman The Great. 100/1, offered little in Kempton bumper on debut in March 2022.
12th (2) (33/1 +0%) Fixed Wing |
33/1(+0%) | (2) Fixed Wing 33/1, €10,000 3-y-o, Gamut gelding. Half-brother to fair hurdler/chaser Aviewtosea and modest hurdler My Club Colours.
13th (13) (150/1 -127%) She's A Lady |
150/1(-127%) | (13) She's A Lady 150/1, Well held in a couple of bumpers for George Baker in summer 2022.
14th (4) (250/1 -67%) Inspector Maigret |
250/1(-67%) | (4) Inspector Maigret 250/1, 100/1, offered little in Hereford bumper on debut 3 weeks ago. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
BY THE GRACE made a bright start to her racing career when runner-up at Southwell and natural improvement would make her difficult to beat in this contest. Seaside Legend had excuses for his latest performance (bled from the nose) and has undergone wind surgery since. He showed plenty on debut and must enter calculations, while I'd Go Maniac is a respected newcomer from the Alan King stable.
BY THE GRACE showed plenty first time up at Southwell in May and this looks a good chance for her to get off the mark. Newcomers Solid Silver and I'd Go Maniac are interesting alternatives.
Seaside Legend and BY THE GRACE are both open to some improvement and token preference is for the latter.

1st (9) (9/1 +0%) Apologise |
9/1(+0%) | (9) Apologise 9/1, Fair Flat winner in Ireland but yet to better modest form over hurdles, including well held in a pair of 2m Uttoxeter handicaps this autumn. Too soon to write off but arrives with a bit to prove. Form of defeats this autumn needs building on significantly; unsure 2m4f will be a plus. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (12/1 -60%) State Legend |
12/1(-60%) | (1) State Legend 12/1, Fairly useful 14f winner on the Flat but yet to show anything like that form over hurdles. Needs this switch to handicaps to spark a major improvement. Another Flat success in July (1m6f); not easy mark judged on initial runs over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (13/2 +19%) Celtic Fortune |
13/2(+19%) | (8) Celtic Fortune 13/2, Lightly-raced maiden who was contesting only his second handicap when an improved third of 12 over C&D when last seen in May. Good shout if ready to roll on return. 6lb swing with Sir Rock for an 8l beating at Fontwell in May (2m5f, good); unseen since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (9/4 +44%) Furkash |
9/4(+44%) | (6) Furkash 9/4, Placed on 3 of last 4 starts over fences last term and ran well returned to timber when second of 9 in handicap at Wincanton (21.4f, soft) 26 days ago. Not taken lightly off the same mark. Still something to offer as a hurdler judged on Wincanton second latest; down in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (5/2 +50%) Sir Rock |
5/2(+50%) | (7) Sir Rock 5/2, Irish point winner who made all over hurdles at Fontwell (21.7f) in May. Refused to race there on his return but got back on track with solid Stratford third last month. Not discounted. Some risks (has refused to race), but last-time Stratford third was a new peak form effort. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (28/1 -40%) Rafferty |
28/1(-40%) | (4) Rafferty 28/1, Won 2 of first 3 starts over fences for this yard but his form has tailed off, only eighth over hurdles at Southwell on his return. Hard to warm to. Has offered little in just two starts this past year, the latest back over hurdles (2m5f). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (5/1 -150%) On Se Calme |
5/1(-150%) | (2) On Se Calme 5/1, Irish point winner who easily got off the mark over hurdles in 6-runner novice at Hereford (16.2f) 28 days ago despite making some mistakes. Up in trip for his handicap debut. Player. Easy Hereford mares' maiden winner latest (2m); found a good opening on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (25/1 -178%) Ipso Falco |
25/1(-178%) | (5) Ipso Falco 25/1, Well beaten in bumpers and has fared no better in three starts over hurdles. Lots more needed now going into handicaps. Mark makes some sense on peak form effort; hasn't shone over 2m3f-2m4f up to now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (125/1 -89%) Deja Rouge |
125/1(-89%) | (3) Deja Rouge 125/1, Regressive form for Gordon Elliott and he has offered little on all 3 runs for current yard, hooded last time. Has offered little across three starts for current yard, including on last week's return. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
On Se Calme won by close to 10 lengths last time out at Hereford after making most of the running and, with Oscar Palmer claiming 10lb in the saddle, she could go well if she stays this new distance. SIR ROCK might take her on for the early lead and, after his Stratford third, he could be better treated. Celtic Fortune finished nine lengths behind the selection at Fontwell in May.
ON SE CALME still looked a work in progress despite easily opening her hurdling account at Hereford last time and she can follow up on her handicap bow with this longer trip also a likely plus. Furkash is next on the list on the back of his good Wincanton second, with the returning Celtic Fortune and handicap-debutant State Legend both in the mix too.
This looks good for emphatic Hereford scorer ON SE CALME (nap), up in trip on her handicap debut. Sir Rock is next best.

1st (3) (25/1 -178%) Carlos Felix |
25/1(-178%) | (3) Carlos Felix 25/1, 8/1, below form seventh of 12 in handicap at Southwell (12.1f) 154 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Philip Kirby. Every chance if back to best. Ex-Phil Kirby; 1m4f AW winner in Match; below form since; a bit to prove on stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (3/1 +54%) Peripeteia |
3/1(+54%) | (5) Peripeteia 3/1, Latest win at Wolverhampton in October. 7/2, creditable second of 7 in handicap at Chelmsford City (14f) 4 days ago. One to consider. In good form, winning over 1m6f at Wolves before two good placed runs; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (5/1 +33%) Blue Hawaii |
5/1(+33%) | (8) Blue Hawaii 5/1, Winner at Nottingham in May. 11/1, good second of 10 in handicap at this C&D 12 days ago, conceding first run. Enters calculations. Creditable second over C&D last time (first three well clear); interesting contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (9/2 +36%) Bobby Shaftoe |
9/2(+36%) | (4) Bobby Shaftoe 9/2, 3 wins from 12 runs this year. 17/2, creditable second of 9 in handicap at this course (16.2f) 25 days ago. Back down in trip. Respected. Three wins here in Feb/March, two at this trip; best runs since have been here; a possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (5/1 +64%) Gastronomy |
5/1(+64%) | (2) Gastronomy 5/1, Tongue strap on for 1st time, fourth of 6 in handicap at Catterick (12.1f, heavy, 16/1) 14 days ago, merely passing beaten rivals. Cheekpieces on 1st time. 11-race maiden; well beaten on soft/heavy last twice; on a career-low mark; headgear tried. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (13/2 -136%) Hill Station |
13/2(-136%) | (7) Hill Station 13/2, Belatedly off the mark in 10-runner handicap at Wolverhampton (12.2f) 19 days ago. This is tougher up 4 lb but he can't be dismissed. Off the mark over 1m4f at Wolverhampton latest; up 4lb; one with a chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (33/1 +50%) Wheres The Crumpet |
33/1(+50%) | (9) Wheres The Crumpet 33/1, Tenth of 11 in handicap at this course (12.4f, 50/1) 49 days ago. Significantly down in trip. Recent efforts have left plenty to be desired. Maiden; some fair efforts in the summer; disappointing on last two starts; hard to fancy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (11) (18/1 -13%) Visitant |
18/1(-13%) | (11) Visitant 18/1, Unreliable type. C&D winner. Latest win at Redcar in August. Below form sixth of 10 in handicap at Redcar (10f, heavy, 7/1) 25 days ago, very slowly away. Back up in trip. C&D winner; patchy form since turf win in August; others appeal more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (14/1 -75%) Crystal Guard |
14/1(-75%) | (10) Crystal Guard 14/1, C&D winner. Eighth of 9 in handicap (18/1) at Ayr (15f, soft) 42 days ago. Has had a wind op. C&D winner in January; below par since; career-low mark; interesting back after wind op. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (12) (22/1 -120%) Final Chant |
22/1(-120%) | (12) Final Chant 22/1, Little to shout about in 5 outings for Micky Hammond and hopes pinned on the change of scenery (making debut for new yard here) and break sparking improvement. Significantly up in trip. Makes tapeta debut. Modest form for Micky Hammond on turf; needs to improve up in trip on stable/AW debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (1) (18/1 -80%) Masque Of Anarchy |
18/1(-80%) | (1) Masque Of Anarchy 18/1, Course winner. Latest win at Pontefract in May. Off 8 weeks, 15/2, seventh of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 36 days ago. Significantly back up in trip. Visor on 1st time. On a tempting mark. Below par since turf win in May; on a good mark but never won beyond 1m3f; new headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (6) (125/1 -400%) Major Snugfit |
125/1(-400%) | (6) Major Snugfit 125/1, C&D winner. Off 13 months. First run for yard after leaving Rebecca Menzies. Not easy to make a case for. Fourth over C&D on last 2 runs in 2022; changed yards; best watched after 392 days off. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
This can go the way of HILL STATION, who scored comfortably at Wolverhampton last time out and should be able to handle a 4lb rise. Dr. Richard Newland's charge is preferred to the consistent Peripeteia and Bobby Shaftoe, who performed with plenty of credit over further here last time out. Blue Hawaii and Major Snugfit are capable of being in the mix as well.
MASQUE OF ANARCHY lurks on a tempting mark and has won here in the past so could be the way to go fitted with a first-time visor. Bobby Shaftoe, Peripeteia and Hill Station are other likely players.
This can go to CRYSTAL GUARD who is on a career-low mark and returns having had wind surgery. Blue Hawaii could be his main danger.

1st (3) (18/1 -13%) Celtic Art |
18/1(-13%) | (3) Celtic Art 18/1, Useful winner on Flat and has made an encouraging start to his hurdle career, winning maiden/novice events at Wincanton at the beginning of the year. However, hasn't shown much switched to handicaps since and needs the first-time cheekpieces to help him get back on track. Useful Flat-racer; two hurdle wins in early 2023 but recent efforts have been troubling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (7/1 -8%) Zambezi Fix |
7/1(-8%) | (2) Zambezi Fix 7/1, Notched second success in this sphere when landing a Chepstow handicap (2m, good to soft) off this mark in February. Reappearance third of 12 over the same C&D was respectable and he's generally consistent, but perhaps vulnerable against some younger, less exposed rivals here. Hurdle wins on heavy/good to soft; won off this mark in February but this is harder. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (2/1 -14%) Klitschko |
2/1(-14%) | (1) Klitschko 2/1, Impressive winner of sole bumper start and made it third time lucky over hurdles when landing a Plumpton maiden (2m, good) on final run of last season. Didn't exactly win that race in the manner one would typically expect of an odds-on shot, but he's armed with potential now handicapping. Bumper winner; races freely but found plenty for hurdle win in February; more to come. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (8/1 +20%) Swinging London |
8/1(+20%) | (5) Swinging London 8/1, Made winning debut for this yard in a Fakenham maiden in February 2022 and placed 3 times off slightly higher marks than this in the second half of last season. Below par tried in cheekpieces (retained) at Newton Abbot in May, though, and he was safely held back from a break on the Flat last month. Capable of useful handicap form, albeit rather intermittently; below best on last 2 starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (10/3 +49%) Despereaux |
10/3(+49%) | (4) Despereaux 10/3, Off the mark at Huntingdon on his second start before defying a penalty at Taunton in March. Shaped as though the run was needed when third on return in a 5-runner Chepstow handicap (2m, heavy) and should come on for that, but improvement will be needed if he's to play a leading role here. Dual 2m winner last winter; open to improvement and can be involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (11/4 -22%) He's A Latchico |
11/4(-22%) | (7) He's A Latchico 11/4, Good strike rate on the Flat and duly left novice form behind switched to handicaps in this sphere during the summer, scoring twice at up to 19f on good/good to firm at Fontwell. Up 9 lb for latest win, but remains open to improvement and bold show likely, provided the ground isn't on the slow side. Progressive dual-purpose 5yo; heavy/soft against him of late; well treated back hurdling. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
KLITSCHKO hasn't done too much wrong in four starts to date and his battling Plumpton success took a big boost when the runner-up came out and won by 23 lengths next time out. He now starts handicap life off a fair mark of 120 and, providing he's anywhere near peak fitness on his seasonal debut, he will take some stopping. The hat-trick seeking He's A Latchico and Zambezi Fix could put up most resistance.
It's probably fair to say that KLITSCHKO was a shade disappointing on the whole in his three runs over hurdles last season, given the impression he created when winning a bumper at Huntingdon on debut. However, there's a strong sense that there's much better to come from this 5-y-o, particularly now that he ventures down the handicap route off a potentially handy opening mark. The hat-trick seeking He's A Latchico is the obvious threat.
In the hope that HE'S A LATCHICO can overcome ground that will be slower than ideal, he is taken to make the most of his low mark.

1st (1) (5/1 -43%) Goose Man |
5/1(-43%) | (1) Goose Man 5/1, Useful chaser but he's been off for 2 years since landing 3m2f event at Downpatirck for Tom Taaffe. Still very much one to consider back hurdling in this grade. Was a classy hurdler/chaser but hard to evaluate after 972-day absence; 2m sharp enough. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (14/1 +13%) G'Day Aussie |
14/1(+13%) | (5) G'Day Aussie 14/1, Scored at Worcester (2m) on second run since returning from a lengthy absence, but subsequent displays at Market Rasen and Hereford leave him with a point to prove. 16 lb out of the handicap too. Won a handicap in July; not so good since; 16lb out of the handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (8/13 +15%) The Geordie Ginge |
8/13(+15%) | (4) The Geordie Ginge 8/13, Fair hurdler who was in good form until posting a below-par third of 7 in novice hurdle (5/6) at Worcester (16f, good to soft) 57 days ago. Still looks the one to beat lowered in grade for his handicap debut. Below-par last time; fair form in maiden hurdles before that; chance in a weak event. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (4/1 +0%) Laser Focus |
4/1(+0%) | (3) Laser Focus 4/1, A fair maiden hurdler for Henry De Bromhead and not disgraced for his new yard when second of 4 in selling hurdle at Stratford (18.7f, heavy) 12 days ago. In the mix. Ex-Irish; two modest efforts for this yard (second in a selling hurdle last time). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (16/1 +0%) Still Standing |
16/1(+0%) | (2) Still Standing 16/1, Useful Flat performer in his prime who opened account over hurdles in autumn 2021. However, it's all been rather low key since, so others are preferred. Regressive 8yo; well beaten in a claimer last week; hard to fancy in current form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (33/1 -18%) Many Words |
33/1(-18%) | (6) Many Words 33/1, Very modest form in this sphere to date and hasn't threatened in a handful of runs on the Flat in recent months. Also 22 lb "wrong" in the weights. 0-19 on the Flat; first run over jumps for 393 days; blinkers tried; 22lb out of the h'cap. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
This may go the way of THE GEORDIE GINGE. The Twiston-Davies yard has been in amongst the winners lately and, although the five-year-old hasn't added to that tally, he has hit a top three spot on all four starts this season. A repeat of any of those may see him get the better of Stratford second Laser Focus, with top-weight Goose Man one to watch on his first start since success at Down Royal over fences in March 2021.
THE GEORDIE GINGE needs to shrug off a lesser showing at Worcester but still looks to have a very good opportunity to get off the mark lowered in grade here. Laser Focus was runner-up in similar company at Stratford last time and should again have a say, while veteran Goose Man can't be discounted either despite having a two-year absence to overcome.
In a very tricky race, the tentative choice is THE GEORDIE GINGE who has yet to win but regularly runs to his mark.

1st (4) (6/1 +8%) Johnny Ringo |
6/1(+8%) | (4) Johnny Ringo 6/1, Twice-raced maiden. Tongue strap on for 1st time, second of 8 at Redcar (8f, heavy, 15/2) 25 days ago. Different conditions on AW debut but surely capable of winning races. Two good runs so far (second to Listed-placed filly last time); should go well on AW debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (5/1 +17%) Dashing Darcey |
5/1(+17%) | (3) Dashing Darcey 5/1, Well-backed 5/2, pulled up early in maiden at Wolverhampton (7.2f) on debut 21 days ago, possibly amiss. All must be well if he's turned out again quickly and he's worth another look. 20,000 breeze-up buy; pulled up when favourite for Wolves maiden last month; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (11) (5/1 +33%) Puella Law |
5/1(+33%) | (11) Puella Law 5/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Third of 8 at Redcar (8f, heavy, 5/4) 25 days ago, with Johnny Ringo second. One to consider. Shaped with credit on all three starts, including over 7f at Chelmsford; each-way chance.. |

4th (1) (8/13 +0%) Mahato |
8/13(+0%) | (1) Mahato 8/13, Won 15-runner novice (7/1) at Windsor (6f, good to soft) on debut 29 days ago, doing it quite takingly in the end and looking a good prospect. Sure to progress and can defy a penalty here. Promising; winner on Windsor debut (6f, soft; form franked); should stay 7f; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (40/1 -21%) Filibustering |
40/1(-21%) | (5) Filibustering 40/1, Foaled April 20. Postponed gelding. Half-brother to 2-y-o 6f winner Chepchik and 1m winner Lerwick. Half-brother to 2 winners; dam half-sister to Emily Upjohn; quite an interesting newcomer. |

6th (2) (66/1 +34%) Triple Force |
66/1(+34%) | (2) Triple Force 66/1, Ninth of 13 in minor event (80/1) at Redcar (7f, good) on debut 38 days ago. Significantly more is required. Well-beaten 80-1 shot on Redcar debut last month (7f, good); others stronger. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (250/1 -100%) Northgate |
250/1(-100%) | (6) Northgate 250/1, Seventh of 8 at this course (8f, 100/1) on debut 15 days ago. Well beaten 100-1 shot in a 1m novice here last month; best watched for now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (20/1 -233%) Alreet Cha |
20/1(-233%) | (10) Alreet Cha 20/1, Once-raced maiden. Ninth of 15 at York (6f, heavy, 66/1) on debut 32 days ago, very slowly away. Could be one for next year. Dandy Man filly; 14l ninth of 15 in a York novice on debut last month; should do better. |

125/1(-25%) | (8) A Friend To All 125/1, Foaled March 13. Mayson filly. Dam 1m winner. By Mayson; first foal of a 1m winner; worth a market check on debut. |

200/1(-60%) | (7) Red Hatter 200/1, Twice-raced maiden. 125/1, sixth of 8 in maiden at this C&D 49 days ago. Modest efforts so far and would be a surprise winner. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
A taking winner on his debut at Windsor last month, MAHATO should have plenty more improvement to come stepping up in trip, and he can handle a 6lb penalty. Dropping back in trip looks a good move for Puella Law, while Johnny Ringo has finished runner-up on both career starts and deserves plenty of respect. Dashing Darcey and Invincible Amy are likely to be thereabouts too.
MAHATO looked a good prospect as he made a winning debut at Windsor and can defy a penalty in a weaker novice. Dashing Darcey is presumably none the worse for Wolverhampton and he's got to be worth a look again. Redcar-rivals Johnny Ringo and Puella Law should be in the mix also.
After beating a decent yardstick on his Windsor debut MAHATO will be hard to beat. Johnny Ringo looks his main threat.

1st (10) (6/5 +40%) Oxygen |
6/5(+40%) | (10) Oxygen 6/5, Winner of a newcomers' event over hurdles in France in 2021. Made a low-key start for his current connections but showed promise on his only previous run over fences in France so he's interesting back in this sphere here. Unplaced all starts last season but makes chase debut off a low mark after wind surgery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (5/1 +17%) Mister Who |
5/1(+17%) | (6) Mister Who 5/1, Built on a promising hurdle debut second when going one better at Lingfield a year ago. Seemed amiss next time, however, and switched to chasing after 11 months off. Still needs considering for good yard. Won maiden hurdle here a year ago; pulled up only start since; chasing debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (100/1 -52%) It's Easy |
100/1(-52%) | (5) It's Easy 100/1, Fairly useful maiden chaser in France for David Cottin. Off 11 months before being pulled up in handicap chase (40/1) at Ludlow (20f, soft) on UK NH debut 19 days ago. Lots more needed, Hurdle winner in France; pulled up at Ludlow on British debut last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (8/1 -100%) Maninsane |
8/1(-100%) | (2) Maninsane 8/1, Dual winner in first campaign over fences last season and he returned with a good second of 6 in handicap chase (14/1) at Exeter (19.2f, soft) 21 days ago. In the mix. Good second on last month's return and leading candidate on that effort. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (10/1 -33%) Will Sting |
10/1(-33%) | (7) Will Sting 10/1, Fairly useful hurdler who got off the mark over fences at the second attempt at Doncaster in January. Pulled up at Huntingdon only run since though so has it ti prove on his seasonal return. Doncaster winner in January but was pulled up on both his other chasing starts. |

6th (11) (5/1 +80%) Has Troke |
5/1(+80%) | (11) Has Troke 5/1, Fair hurdler who was more miss than hit last season and is likely to need this initial experience of chasing after 9 months off. Twice ran well over hurdles here last season; chasing debut after ten months off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (14/1 -17%) Hector Jaguen |
14/1(-17%) | (8) Hector Jaguen 14/1, Maiden hurdler who came good at the fourth attempt over fences at Fontwell (17.7f) in April. Pulled up in Kempton handicap in May however so he needs to hit the ground running on his return. 8lb higher than when winning at Fontwell in April and was pulled up when last seen. |

|PU| (3) (12/1 +0%) Del La Mar Rocket |
12/1(+0%) | (3) Del La Mar Rocket 12/1, Landed a Ffos Las maiden hurdle in February 2022 but has been held back by his jumping since, pulled up at Uttoxeter in March. More is needed now going chasing. Nothing over hurdles last term; plenty to prove on chasing debut but worth a market check. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (50/1 -100%) Song Of Earth |
50/1(-100%) | (1) Song Of Earth 50/1, Three-time winner for Margaret Mullins in Ireland,. Failed to make an impact on both starts for new yard last winter. Has it to prove on his return. Decent form in Ireland but well beaten in both starts for this yard last season. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
MANINSANE arguably produced a career-best performance when runner-up at Exeter three weeks ago and entitled to improve for that first outing since April, he is fancied to go one better. Will Sting reportedly made a respiratory noise when pulling up last time, but he won impressively on his penultimate outing and has a definite chance on his reappearance. Chasing newcomer Mister Who adds further spice to the race.
OXYGEN failed to fire over hurdles for Venetia Williams last term but showed promise on his only previous go over fences in France so gets the vote in a race where lots arrive with question marks against them. Maninsane appeals as the chief threat on the back of his good recent Exeter second ahead of chasing-newcomer Mister Who.
It would be no surprise if OXYGEN burst into life on his chasing debut for an in-form yard.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (4/1 +20%) Special Acceptance |
4/1(+20%) | (7) Special Acceptance 4/1, Plummeted down the weights and posted best effort for some time when 1¾ lengths second of 9 to Stylish Moment in handicap chase at Haydock (25.6f, good to firm) in April. Remains nicely treated on return and must enter calculations. Arrested decline when clear second at Haydock in April; back from break today. |

3rd (5) (9/2 +18%) Fairway Freddy |
9/2(+18%) | (5) Fairway Freddy 9/2, Finished a soundly-beaten second in 4-runner Fontwell event last month and failed to repeat that effort when well held at Plumpton 22 days ago. Others more convincing. Engaged 2.25 Kempton Monday. Second in four-runner race at Fontwell last month but he tailed off at Plumpton last time. |

4th (8) (9/2 -100%) Call Of The Loon |
9/2(-100%) | (8) Call Of The Loon 9/2, Proved consistent since joining Christian Williams, scoring for second time when taking 12-runner handicap chase at Stratford (27.5f, good, 4/1) 82 days ago, driven out. 6 lb higher now but looks sure to give another good account. Gained both chase wins in low-grade events but his consistency is a selling point here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (5/2 +50%) Innisfree Lad |
5/2(+50%) | (4) Innisfree Lad 5/2, Won a veterans event (off 7 lb higher) at Hereford in February and may have still needed outing when tenth in a more competitive handicap at Cheltenham last month. Not out of things. Didn't run badly in big field at Cheltenham last month and is well handicapped. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (28/1 -100%) Mr Mafia |
28/1(-100%) | (3) Mr Mafia 28/1, Capitalised on some mercy from the assessor when making a winning return from 8 months off at Newton Abbot (25.8f, good) in July but hasn't been in same form either start since and makes limited appeal. Bold-jumping front-runner who enjoys good ground; too inconsistent to trust nowadays. |

|PU| (2) (13/2 -8%) Stylish Moment |
13/2(-8%) | (2) Stylish Moment 13/2, Returned to winning ways in similar event at Haydock (25.6f) in April and backed that up with good second at Cartmel next time. Running creditably when unseated rider at Perth last time and holds solid claims here. Won Haydock veterans' race in April but has become unreliable. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Innisfree Lad seems to save his best for this track with two wins and a second from five starts and, although not at his best so far this season, he drops in class and cannot be overlooked. CALL OF THE LOON shows no signs of regression at the age of 12 and stayed on well to win over further last time out. Off bottom-weight here, he could strike again, with Crosspark another to note.
Preference is for STYLISH MOMENT, who was in the process of running well when unseating 3 out at Perth last time and remains feasibly treated. Call of The Loon and Innisfree Lad can also make their presence felt.
The suggestion is INNISFREE LAD, who travelled well for a long way in a big field at Cheltenham last month and is on a good mark.

33/1(+0%) | (5) Lang Toon Lad 33/1, Foaled February 3. 8,000 gns foal, £8,500 yearling, Cotai Glory gelding. Dam 1m/8.3f winner out of useful 11f/1½m winner Glitter Baby. £8,500 yearling; dam a 1m winner (RPR 88); would be a rare winning newcomer for the yard. |

FOURONEOHFEVER wasn't beaten far on his debut at Wolverhampton and he must hold every chance if building on that promising effort. The son of Too Darn Hot may have too much for recent C&D winner Venture Capital, who has a 6lb penalty to carry, and newcomer Sunfall, a daughter of Twilight Son who is a half-sister to a debut winner in Undertake.
The form of FOURONEOHFEVER's debut third in a recent newcomers' event at Wolverhampton could be set to work out and he gets the vote to make it second time lucky with improvement on the way. Venture Capital made all over C&D a fortnight ago and can go well again under a penalty. Sunfall heads up a number of interesting newcomers.
Venture Capital can go well despite his penalty but FOURONEOHFEVER is taken to build on his promising Wolverhampton debut.

80/1(-186%) | (10) Golden Ambition 80/1, Strong in the betting (5/1) but only tenth of 17 in bumper at Warwick in April on NH debut. Interesting to see if he attracts support again as he goes up in trip for his hurdling bow. Well held in a bumper in April; hurdle debut. |

11/8(+45%) | (7) Support Act 11/8, Looked potentially useful when making all in Wetherby bumper in April. Runner-up in 3m Irish point so step up in trip should suit on switch to hurdling. Impressive bumper winner; very interesting on hurdle debut. |

Not in same form for current connections when third at Newton Abbot (16.8f, good to soft, 4/1) next time. Market can prove guide after 14 months off on hurdles bow. Makes hurdle debut after 14 months off and others are more likely. |

2/1(-82%) | (9) De Tellers Fortune 2/1, €32,000 3-y-o, £135,000 4-y-o, Soldier of Fortune gelding. Has an appealing pedigree and won between the flags in Ireland earlier this year. In good hands and is of obvious interest on Rules debut here. Irish point winner; hurdle debut for top yard and could be anything. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Bumper winner Land Genie looked a little one-paced on his hurdling bow at Carlisle, but he is upped in trip now which may see him in a better light. He can go well alongside winning pointer De Tellers Fortune, who is worth a market check, but a chance is taken on SUPPORT ACT. He was impressive when making all to win his bumper at Wetherby and, if he can transfer that to hurdles, he could be well above-average.
This longer trip is a big plus for LAND GENIE, who shaped like a stayer when an encouraging second on his hurdles debut at Carlisle last month. He can open his account in this sphere. There are several interesting debutants in opposition, with De Tellers Fortune and Support Act particularly respected.
Among some interesting contenders, impressive bumper winner SUPPORT ACT is given the nod.

14/1(+13%) | (10) Mary 14/1, Yeats filly who showed plenty of promise when placed in bumpers at Warwick and Cheltenham last spring. Slightly below that level at Ludlow next time but warrants respect sent hurdling on return. Ran well in three bumpers in the spring; considered each-way on hurdling debut. |

4th (8) (18/1 +28%) Iliade Allen |
18/1(+28%) | (8) Iliade Allen 18/1, £130,000 purchase having won second of 3 starts in bumpers for Nick Williams but has proved disappointing in 2 outings for current connections, folding quickly (back from 19 months off) at this course 9 days ago. Entitled to come on from that but percentage call is to look elsewhere. Flopped badly on first two starts for Paul Nicholls, latterly on recent hurdling debut. |

100/1(-150%) | (4) Darting Rose 100/1, From a family connections know well and she showed plenty on debut in Southwell bumper in May. Failed to settle and below that level twice since, however. Tries hurdling now. Not beaten far on bumper debut but two underwhelming bumper runs have followed. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
An impressive winner of the Grade 2 Mares' Bumper at Aintree in April, DYSART ENOS looks to be a very exciting proposition for the Fergal O'Brien team this season and she can get her hurdles career off to the perfect start. The talented five-year-old gets the vote ahead of easy Market Rasen scorer Casa No Mento and Lightfoot Lady, who must bounce back from being pulled up at Worcester in June.
CASA NO MENTO created a good impression when making a winning start over hurdles at Market Rasen in September and is taken to follow up. Dysart Enos and Lightfoot Lady rate the principal dangers.
It's hard to oppose DYSART ENOS, who was seriously impressive when beating 19 rivals in the big Aintree mares' bumper in April.

12/1(-100%) | (6) Margot Robbie 12/1, Once-raced maiden. Tenth of 13 in minor event (66/1) at Southwell (6.1f) on debut. Off 8 months. Visored for 1st time. Well beaten on Southwell debut in February; withdrawn in Sept (stalls issues); visored. |

4th (2) (11/2 -38%) Leap Day |
11/2(-38%) | (2) Leap Day 11/2, Lightly-raced maiden. 11/8, fifth of 8 in maiden at Beverley (7.4f, good to firm) when last seen, left poorly placed. Off 157 days. Went close over C&D on debut and has a shout on return. Off for five months, but has shown enough previously (turf & AW) to have a chance.. |

With no winning form to work with, Andrew Balding may have found a suitable contest for SILVRETTA to get off the mark. Beaten a length at Kempton and half a length at Windsor on her two starts over this trip, this looks her best opportunity yet. Willow Baby has been improving with every start and could be the one to follow the selection home, with Leap Day another to note.
SILVRETTA did little wrong when filling second spot again at Windsor 5 weeks ago and should be hard to beat in this weaker contest. The returning Leap Day, who went close over C&D on debut back in March, looks the danger.
Having finished second on her last three starts, this rates as a perfect opportunity for SILVRETTA to gain that all-important first win

1st (6) (11/2 +15%) Dysania |
11/2(+15%) | (6) Dysania 11/2, Made the frame on a few occasions in handicap chases at up to 3¼m last winter, but form then dipped badly and he's opposable back from a break from 4 lb out of the weights here. Out of form when last seen but previous form would give him a shout. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (15/2 -7%) Williamdeconqueror |
15/2(-7%) | (4) Williamdeconqueror 15/2, Yet to win a race of any description, but he doesn't have many miles on the clock and showed more with cheekpieces enlisted on final 2 starts of last season, latterly beaten less than a length when fifth of 15 at Warwick (3m, good). Will be a threat if ready to roll following a 6-month break. Two narrow defeats in April when last seen; chances if able to show that form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (11/8 +21%) Brandisova |
11/8(+21%) | (2) Brandisova 11/8, Off the mark over hurdles at Fakenham in February and bettered that when following up in this sphere at the same course (3m, soft) next time. Gave it a good shot from the front when bidding for the hat-trick in a handicap chase at Huntingdon when last seen in April and she's the one to beat. Two Fakenham wins in the spring and strong contender on those efforts; still on fair mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (3/1 +40%) Bobalot |
3/1(+40%) | (1) Bobalot 3/1, Made a successful handicap debut over hurdles at Chepstow on his reappearance last season, but he largely struggled thereafter and needs to get back on track now switched to fences. Has undergone a wind op. Hurdle winner after a break; chase debut now after wind surgery; stays well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (5/1 +29%) Wide To West |
5/1(+29%) | (5) Wide To West 5/1, Placed on completed start in points, but there were few positives to glean from his handful of runs over hurdles last season. Perhaps switching to fences will help show him in a better light, but it's easy enough to look elsewhere all the same. Unplaced over hurdles; improvement needed on chasing debut; cheekpieces on. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
BRANDISOVA looks the sensible choice with her experience over fences a bonus, and a win at Fakenham to her name also helps. If she is ready to roll on her return to action then she may start the new season with a victory. Williamdeconqueror was beaten less than a length into fifth at Warwick when last seen in April and a repeat of that effort gives him a solid chance, while Bobalot is an interesting alternative.
The vote goes to the mare BRANDISOVA, who didn't do much wrong when finding one too good in her hat-trick attempt at Huntingdon in April and she resumes on the same mark. Williamdeconqueror appeared to be getting the hang of things towards the end of last season and will be a threat if picking up where he left off, while it will be interesting to see if Captain Claude is allowed to make his chase debut here on the back of a fairly encouraging reappearance effort over hurdles on Sunday.
The safest option appears to be BRANDISOVA, who was in good form in the spring.

1st (2) (8/11 +20%) Regarde |
8/11(+20%) | (2) Regarde 8/11, Point winner who, having showed glimmers of ability over hurdles last term, justified strong support when making a winning return/chase debut here (23.6f, good to firm). 6 lb rise doesn't look at all harsh and, with the prospect of better to come, he should prove hard to beat. Major career-best effort when winning chase debut here latest (3m); could jump better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (8/1 +20%) Abingworth |
8/1(+20%) | (7) Abingworth 8/1, Gained breakthrough success over hurdles at Plumpton (20.5f, good) during the spring, but jumping lacked any sort of conviction when well held fourth of 5 on return/chase debut at Fontwell. The ability is there if he gets it together jumping-wise, but it's a pretty big 'if'. Hurdle winner off this mark last April; jumping substandard on seasonal/chasing debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (11/1 +8%) Perryville |
11/1(+8%) | (8) Perryville 11/1, Fair form at best in maiden/novice hurdles, but he hasn't shown a great deal in 5 runs this year, including in first-time cheekpieces (retained) at Worcester last time. Opposable on chase debut. Hurdling progress has stalled, but looks temptingly handicapped ahead of his chasing debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (15/2 -36%) Erigmoor |
15/2(-36%) | (4) Erigmoor 15/2, Displayed a fair level of ability over hurdles last season, but made a discouraging start to life over fences when returning to action here (16.5f, good). Hard to warm to on the back of that. Pulled up early on recent chasing debut here (errors); already okay mark eased 2lb more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (14/1 -40%) Gladiatus |
14/1(-40%) | (5) Gladiatus 14/1, Runner-up sole start in Irish points and shaped with promise when third of 10 in a novice hurdle at Chepstow (2m, good) last November. Pretty much downhill all the way thereafter, but it's by no means beyond the realms of possibility that he'll do better now sent chasing. Lightly raced; out of a good-ground French chase winner at this sort of trip; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (12/1 -41%) Carpe Diem |
12/1(-41%) | (3) Carpe Diem 12/1, Showed more than on debut over timber when third of 8 in a Fontwell maiden (17.7f, good) in August. Subsequent fifth upped to 2½m at Uttoxeter was no backward step, but improvement needed now tackling fences if he's to make a winning start in this sphere. Initial mark no gift, but can make a chaser (sibling to two 2m3f-2m4f winners over fences). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (12/1 +33%) Onesteptwosteps |
12/1(+33%) | (9) Onesteptwosteps 12/1, Beaten a long way all 3 starts over hurdles and while he makes his debut in this sphere (also first run in a handicap) off a lowly mark, it's hard to recommend him. Shown little since fair Ascot Listed bumper debut seventh; up in trip switched to fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (16/1 -14%) City Roller |
16/1(-14%) | (1) City Roller 16/1, Runner-up twice in bumpers and also placed in a Newcastle novice hurdle in February. However, little impact in handicaps since and needs to raise his game now switched to fences. Progress stalled over hurdles when last seen; not an obvious chasing candidate on breeding. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
The Jamie Snowden stable can do little wrong at present and REGARDE sets the standard in this contest following an impressive success over further here last month. A 6lb rise could prove lenient and he should have too much for Erigmoor and Abingworth, who didn't show much on his chasing bow at Fontwell but was a good winner over a similar trip at Plumpton in April.
It's hard to envisage anything bar another convincing success for REGARDE, who left his hurdles form a long way behind when scoring at the first attempt over fences here last month. A 6 lb rise for that looks like a rare act of generosity on the handicapper's part and Jamie Snowden's charge should have more to offer. By process of elimination rather than votes of confidence, Carpe Diem and Abingworth are taken to fill the places.
There's something to recommend all of CARPE DIEM, Perryville and Gladiatus as chasers, and they're preferred in that order.

1st (1) (13/2 -18%) Pendleton |
13/2(-18%) | (1) Pendleton 13/2, C&D winner. 1 win from 2 runs this year. Latest win at Thirsk in September. Respectable eighth of 22 in handicap (12/1) at York (6f, soft) 31 days ago. Can make presence felt. Impressed on stable debut in September; less good in a hot York sprint latest; C&D winner. |

4th (8) (11/2 -57%) Primeval |
11/2(-57%) | (8) Primeval 11/2, 2 wins from 3 runs this year. Latest win at Windsor in August. 4/5, only fourth of 6 in handicap at Kempton (7f) 53 days ago. Worth another chance. Unexposed filly; 2-2 over 6f & looked stretched by 7f on handicap debut; key player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (10/3 +45%) Solray |
10/3(+45%) | (9) Solray 10/3, Thrice-raced winner. 1 win from 3 runs this year. Easily won 8-runner minor event at this C&D (5/4) 46 days ago. Makes handicap debut off a good mark so he has to be taken seriously. Needs to step up on his C&D win in September but that's quite possible now handicapping. |

16/1(-129%) | (5) Hello Queen 16/1, C&D winner. 3 wins from 5 runs this year. Latest win at Doncaster in July. 6/1, creditable third of 7 in handicap at Pontefract (6f, good to soft) 54 days ago. Shortlisted. Unexposed C&D winner; latest third came in a strong fillies' handicap; often front-runs. |

7th (4) (22/1 +12%) It Just Takes Time |
22/1(+12%) | (4) It Just Takes Time 22/1, Course winner. 22/1, creditable 2 lengths sixth of 13 to Jump The Gun in handicap at this C&D 11 days ago. Not ruled out. On a good mark but work to do with three of today's rivals on recent C&D form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (12/1 -140%) Jump The Gun |
12/1(-140%) | (3) Jump The Gun 12/1, Unreliable type. Won 13-runner handicap at this C&D (66/1) 11 days ago. Others still preferred. Swept through late over C&D 11 days ago; 3lb rise fair & he still has handicapping scope. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (14/1 +22%) Mister Bluebird |
14/1(+22%) | (7) Mister Bluebird 14/1, Seventh of 11 in handicap at Goodwood (6f, soft, 14/1) 30 days ago, doing too much too soon. Blinkers on 1st time. Possibilities. Won 7f handicap in June off this mark but mixed record since; new headgear applied today. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Pendleton and Solray both arrive with unbeaten records over course and distance and may prove the biggest dangers to PRIMEVAL. She looked a filly going places when winning her first two starts, before her Kempton fourth over further, and she returns to what may be her best trip with every chance of another victory. It is way too soon to be giving up on this daughter of Lope De Vega.
A case can be made for most of these but SOLRAY looks to start life in handicaps on a lenient mark so is taken to follow up his recent C&D success. C&D winner Pendleton heads the list of dangers, although Primeval and Secret Guest can have a say too along with Hello Queen.
Another Investment is greatly respected but the unexposed PRIMEVAL can maintain her unbeaten record over 6f.

1st (4) (8/1 -60%) Whydah Gally |
8/1(-60%) | (4) Whydah Gally 8/1, Didn't really take to chasing last season but his hurdle mark has also come down as a result and he won off this mark at Wincanton in January 2022. Tongue tied first time. The stable is among the winners. 0-5 over fences last season, often looking unenthusiastic; back hurdling after a break. |

2nd (2) (7/2 +30%) Halondo |
7/2(+30%) | (2) Halondo 7/2, Improved to make a winning handicap debut over 20.5f at Market Rasen in March. May have found the race coming too quick on him when only a remote fourth over 23f there 17 days later. Returns as an unexposed sort. Came good over 2m4f on handicap debut in March and is unexposed over this sort of trip. |

3rd (1) (7/1 -8%) Fifty Ball |
7/1(-8%) | (1) Fifty Ball 7/1, On a handy mark and returned to form when finding just one too good at Fontwell (3¼m, good to firm) on final start of last season. Looked in need of the run dropped to 19f there on return last month and could go well back up in trip with that under his belt. Close second at Fontwell in May and ran okay there last month after a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (2/1 +39%) Bells Of Peterboro |
2/1(+39%) | (3) Bells Of Peterboro 2/1, Consistent sort who was third over fences at Newton Abbot last month and shaped a lot better than his eighth place might suggest in a big field at Cheltenham since, still going well when sprawling on landing 2 out. Respected back hurdling. Back from break with two good chase runs last month; reverts to hurdling on good mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (2/1 -30%) Burrows Park |
2/1(-30%) | (5) Burrows Park 2/1, Landed 23f handicap hurdle in the mud at Exeter in January. Found 20.5f on the short side when fourth on his Plumpton reappearance last week and should find this test more suitable. Dangerously well treated. Quirky customer who often races lazily; on a very good mark, though. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
The Venetia Williams stable has been in terrific form of late and, after a promising return over shorter at Plumpton, BURROWS PARK looks to have been found an ideal opportunity of getting back to winning ways. He should be well suited by this test and is preferred to Fifty Ball and Halondo, who was an easy winner at Market Rasen on his penultimate outing.
A small field but all have something to recommend them. BURROWS PARK is too well handicapped to ignore and gets the vote to build on last week's Plumpton reappearance now returning to a more suitable trip. Bells of Peterboro has shaped quite well in a couple of chases this autumn and is second choice back over the smaller obstacles.
After running well in a big-field chase last month, BELLS OF PETERBORO (nap) reverts to hurdling on a good mark.

Good second in Grade 2 mares' race last season and not yet fully exposed over hurdles. |

11/4(+54%) | (6) Moveit Like Minnie 11/4, Posted significant improvement back at 2m, notching up a third hurdling success in Ludlow handicap 3 weeks ago. Up 7 lb in stronger race now but ran well on all 3 of his visits to Huntingdon last season. One to note. Back in peak form with Ludlow win last month (front pair clear) and also likes this track. |

2nd (4) (6/1 +8%) Liverpool Knight |
6/1(+8%) | (4) Liverpool Knight 6/1, Raised his game to pick up a third win of the season over hurdles under a good ride at Market Rasen 7 weeks ago. This is tougher but he's clearly going the right way in this sphere. Made all to land good prize at Market Rasen in September and might still be improving. |

C&D maiden winner in January; pulled up on handicap debut but remains lightly raced. |

Creditable runs next 2 starts before doing too much in front in valuable big-field conditionals' event at Cheltenham. Wouldn't dismiss. Eased-down winner on stable debut in August and has remained in good form since. |

|PU| (7) (10/3 -90%) Inca De Lafayette |
10/3(-90%) | (7) Inca De Lafayette 10/3, Much improved back from breathing operation/6 months off as he won bare 2m Wincanton handicap hurdle last month, seeing his race out much better. Up 10 lb but likely to progress further. Won readily by 13l on seasonal debut at Wincanton and now 2-6 over hurdles. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
It could be worth chancing the fitness of SALSADA, who enters handicap company for the first time after running well at Grade 2 level on her last couple of appearances. She has run well fresh in the past, and her class may come to the fore. Inca De Lafayette bolted up on his first outing post wind surgery and is an obvious danger, along with other last-time-out winners Moveit Like Minnie and Liverpool Knight.
2021-winner ONEMOREFORTHEROAD was struggling when last seen but returns on a very tempting mark and is worth chancing given he's got a good record fresh. There could be more to come from Inca de Lafayette after his emphatic Wincanton success and he's an obvious player. Ludlow-winner Moveit Like Minnie ran well on all 3 of his visits to Huntingdon last season and is also considered.
All eight runners make appeal. The pick is NAYATI, who makes his seasonal debut from a good mark and won when fresh last autumn.

50/1(-79%) | (12) Bay Dream Believer 50/1, Winner at Wetherby in May. Tenth of 11 in handicap (28/1) at this C&D 25 days ago. Must improve. Sole win at Wetherby (1m, Class 6, good) in May; disappointing of late; needs a revival.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Broctune Red is a standing dish here with seven wins, though his latest was in April over two furlongs further and he needs to do more up against Trais Fluors and REEL PROSPECT. The former was only beaten a head at Kempton last month but it is the latter who battled on well to score over C&D latest showing a really willing attitude, and he gets the nod.
SANDRET caught the eye on his return from a lay-off when an unlucky-in-running second over C&D so looks the way to go here. Rocket Rod is weighted to have a big say though and rates a serious threat with 3-time C&D winner Perfect Swiss and handicap-debutant Reel Prospect also in the mix in a competitive contest.
Reel Prospect and Trais Fluors are considered. However, Ben Haslam's SANDRET could hold sway after his pleasing recent C&D second.

1st (7) (4/1 -14%) Shewearsthewellies |
4/1(-14%) | (7) Shewearsthewellies 4/1, Left last season's efforts in maiden hurdles behind when making a successful handicap debut at Fontwell in September. Backed it up when second at Plumpton since. Has the odd quirk and may benefit from the cheekpieces which are now added to her tongue tie. Big player. In good form and has solid claims, especially if cheekpieces give some help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (22/1 -120%) Emotional Memories |
22/1(-120%) | (2) Emotional Memories 22/1, Showed ability in a bumper and first form over hurdles when third in a Uttoxeter maiden in September. Tailed off back there since and this opening handicap mark isn't obviously generous. Good third two starts ago; all other displays modest; handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (8/1 +6%) Gold Clermont |
8/1(+6%) | (3) Gold Clermont 8/1, Well suited by the return to fences when scoring twice at Plumpton in March. Creditable second there on final start in April. Back hurdling on his first start for 6 months and much depends on whether he's fully tuned up. Two chase wins in March and previous good C&D effort; possibilities if ready. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (7/2 +13%) Kenny George |
7/2(+13%) | (4) Kenny George 7/2, Sole hurdle win back in 2019 but has been pretty consistent since this time last year, placing again at Stratford (19f) on his reappearance 12 days ago. Thereabouts if his stamina holds up in trip. Consistent and ran well on this month's return; 1-29 in career and this trip is new. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (3/1 +40%) Ernie Bilko |
3/1(+40%) | (6) Ernie Bilko 3/1, Not seen since making as winning handicap debut at Stratford in March 2022 but he did that quite decisively and would be of interest if the betting vibes are strong on his belated return to action. Absent since Stratford win in March 2022; hopes if he retains his ability. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (33/1 +34%) Tis But A Scratch |
33/1(+34%) | (9) Tis But A Scratch 33/1, Poor maiden. Well held at Warwick when last seen in the spring and he's 7 lb out of the handicap. Highly likely that wait for a first win will go on. Yet to be placed and absent since May. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (16/1 +36%) Aikenbreakinheart |
16/1(+36%) | (8) Aikenbreakinheart 16/1, Off the mark over fences at Wincanton (25f, soft) last month. Not in the same form at Huntingdon final start. Returns to hurdles on reappearance and has a 0-12 record in this sphere. Chase winner in March; absent since later that month; placed once from 12 hurdle starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (3/1 +14%) Robinsville |
3/1(+14%) | (5) Robinsville 3/1, Just his second outing in a handicap when an improved second in 18.5f Newton Abbot handicap back in May. Steps up significantly in trip on his return for a yard going quite well. Less exposed than the majority of these and Freddie Gingell takes 7 lb off. Best effort when second in May on latest start; should be suited by this longer trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
SHEWEARSTHEWELLIES seems to have come back a different mare after wind surgery and she must hold every chance if building on a strong runner-up effort at Plumpton, where she was slightly short of room and a bit unlucky three out. Not beaten far at Stratford on his return, Kenny George looks just the type to improve for going up in distance, while Robinsville has the form to get involved.
Joe Tizzard has been among the winners in November so it might be worth siding with the unexposed ROBINSVILLE, who was a good second at Newton Abbot when last seen in May and has Freddie Gingell taking a very handy 7 lb off. Shewearsthewellies has improved since handicapping and is an obvious threat, particularly if first-time cheekpieces have a positive effect. Ernie Bilko is one to note in the betting on his return from an absence.
Two good efforts this autumn point the way to SHEWEARSTHEWELLIES in this open handicap.

1st (3) (11/2 -38%) Dameofthecotswolds |
11/2(-38%) | (3) Dameofthecotswolds 11/2, 3/1, showed ability when fifth of 9 on her 2m Stratford debut 12 days ago. May do better with that experience behind her but Love Tree was just under 8 lengths ahead of her on that occasion. 8l behind Love Tree on this month's Stratford debut; unlikely the shorter trip is a plus. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (13/8 -78%) Love Tree |
13/8(-78%) | (4) Love Tree 13/8, Camelot half-sister to 4 winners on Flat and shaped well when second of 9 on her 2m Stratford debut 12 days ago. Travelled well on that occasion so this shorter trip shouldn't inconvenience her. Leading claims. Near-2l second on debut (2m, soft) sets the standard; can atone if less green late on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (9/4 +70%) Simply Belle |
9/4(+70%) | (8) Simply Belle 9/4, 22/1, fourth of 14 in C&D bumper (good to firm) on debut 35 days ago, running on. Encouraging near-4l fourth on C&D debut (good); could take a hand if committed earlier. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (12/1 +33%) Starspangledsammy |
12/1(+33%) | (9) Starspangledsammy 12/1, Starspangledbanner half-sister to 4 winners on Flat, including useful 9.5f/1¼m winner in France Dawn Intello. Worth a betting check on debut. Half-sibling to numerous 7f-1m2f winners at up to Group 3; rare bumper runner for yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (5/1 +9%) Caledonian Pearl |
5/1(+9%) | (2) Caledonian Pearl 5/1, Nathaniel filly. Dam fairly useful 1m/9f winner. Wears tongue strap on debut. Stable had the 1-2 in the 3-y-o bumper at Aintree on Saturday so market confidence would look significant. Out of a 1m-1m1f winner; yard had its first bumper winner this term (debutant) at weekend. |

6th (1) (40/1 -100%) Alduni's Girl |
40/1(-100%) | (1) Alduni's Girl 40/1, £3,800 Dartmouth filly. Dam (h85), maiden hurdler, sister to fairly useful hurdler (stayed 3m) Full Throttle. Likely outsider on debut. Niece of a bumper/hurdles scorer; yard 1-8 in bumpers in last five seasons (50-1 winner). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (100/1 +0%) Saved Lizzie |
100/1(+0%) | (7) Saved Lizzie 100/1, 25/1, ninth of 14 on C&D debut (good to firm) 35 days ago. Needs to have come on a lot. 25-1 when a weakening 28l ninth on last month's C&D debut (good); may need more time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (18/1 -50%) Oceana Orange |
18/1(-50%) | (6) Oceana Orange 18/1, Garswood filly. Half-sister to 2 winners on Flat, including 6f-7f winner Gold Club. Noteworthy newcomer for yard with a healthy bumper strike-rate. From a family full of 6f-1m Flat winners; yard 19% strike-rate in bumpers in recent years. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (400/1 -300%) May Dancer |
400/1(-300%) | (5) May Dancer 400/1, 150/1, thirteenth of 14 on C&D debut 35 days ago. Big outsider. 150-1 when beaten 68l on last month's C&D debut (good); huge step forward required. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
LOVE TREE had Dameofthecotswolds three places behind when runner-up on her debut at Stratford 12 days ago and she could confirm that form en route to going one better in this contest. Simply Belle holds Saved Lizzie (ninth) and May Dancer (13th) on her C&D fourth last month and she must enter calculations, while Caledonian Pearl and Oceana Orange are a couple of interesting newcomers.
LOVE TREE is the obvious one on the back of her promising debut second 12 days ago, although a strong market move for Caledonian Pearl would make her a possible threat given that her stable had the 1-2 in a junior bumper at Aintree on Saturday. Oceana Orange is another newcomer to note in the betting.
Greenness alone found out LOVE TREE on her Stratford debut, and quick compensation awaits. C&D fourth Simply Belle is next best.

50/1(-150%) | (2) Moondial 50/1, 16/1, tenth of 11 in handicap at Brighton (8f, good) 35 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Daniel & Claire Kubler. Can give a good account if shrugging off latest effort. Three wins, all over 7f, for the Kublers; near last winning mark on first go for K. Scott. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
RATAFIA arrives here in the form of his life, having backed up a heavy-ground Redcar success with a smooth C&D win last week, and he will take some stopping in his bid to complete the hat-trick. Daisy Roots seldom runs a bad race and she looks sure to give another good account of herself, while similar comments apply to Paco's Pride, who debuts for Daragh Bourke.
RATAFIA arrives bettter than ever and holds good prospects of completing a quick hat-trick under a 5 lb penalty for his recent C&D success. Keep Me Stable didn't enjoy the rub of the green when fourth at Wolverhampton last time and is next on the list, with Paco's Pride and Glory Call appealing as the pick of the rest for minor honours.
Paco's Pride has a shout on first run for Daragh Bourke but the fast-improving C&D scorer RATAFIA rates as the likeliest candidate.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Toplight has come home in front over course and distance four times off higher ratings and, although not at his best recently, he is hard to ignore off this mark. Gustav Graves pulled hard early on before finishing well when fifth here last month and he is beginning to look well handicapped, but FRISTEL is preferred. Fourth on his first start since June at Lingfield last week, he may do better now with that run under his belt.
GUSTAV GRAVES didn't shape too badly back on AW here last time and is on a mark he's capable of exploiting. Fristel has proved expensive to follow but is good enough to make his presence felt from a basement mark. Second Collection is a force at this level but she is due to run here on Monday.
Toplight is feared but there could be more to come from the unexposed NO AW THERE and she's worth chancing.

25/1(+38%) | (3) Eagle Creek 25/1, Eleven runs since last win in 2021. 80/1, last of 11 in handicap at Catterick (7f, heavy) 14 days ago. Others have achieved more. Little encouragement for this yard but he's tumbled down the weights; check betting. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
NAZCA will arrive full of confidence following four all-weather wins in a row and he is fancied to strike again, despite a further 4lb rise in the ratings. Eldeyaar is versatile ground-wise and he warrants respect after recording victories at Ripon and Catterick in September. Mumcat, Lezardrieux and Highjacked are others to watch out for in what looks a decent, competitive handicap for the grade.
WATER OF LEITH caught the eye when seventh here last time and can capitalise on a 2 lb lower mark and bag another C&D success. Fellow C&D scorer Mumcat is feared most, although a solid case can also be made for Hurstwood, Eldeyaar and Nazca in a tightly-knit handicap.
Nazca and Lezardrieux are solid contenders but this could well be the day WATER OF LEITH (nap) exploits his much reduced mark.

5/1(+9%) | (6) Fidelius 5/1, Placed both starts, stepping up on turf debut third when second of 8 on Lingfield's AW 19 days ago. Thereabouts. Placed in both starts over 5f; shapes as though this extra furlong will suit; shortlisted. |

7/2(+30%) | (9) Arthur Rose 7/2, Blue Point filly. Half-sister to useful 5f winner Gabriella's Spirit and 5f winner Can To Can. From a good stable and would enter the reckoning if the betting vibes are strong. Plenty to like on pedigree and stable often gets them ready first time; watch market. |

6th (2) (15/2 +91%) Bitcoin Profit |
15/2(+91%) | (2) Bitcoin Profit 15/2, Modest form at best in 3 outings in Ireland for Diego Dias. Best watched now setting out for a new trainer. Held in three starts on turf in Ireland in the summer; best watched on stable debut. |

150/1(-88%) | (8) Marcus 150/1, 150/1, tenth of 12 in maiden at Chelmsford (6f) on debut 10 days ago. Well held on his Chelmsford debut ten days ago; major improvement needed. |

8th (4) (125/1 -56%) Dash Power |
125/1(-56%) | (4) Dash Power 125/1, Poor form in 4 starts for Richard Hannon. Likely booked for a struggle on yard debut. Poor form in four starts for Richard Hannon; hard to recommend on stable debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Dreadpirateroberts won at Ripon with a bit in hand in April but this will be his first start since, and he has been gelded during his absence. He seems likely to go well, but giving 9lb to REPRISED may be a big ask. A beaten favourite at Beverley where she was hampered before running on into second, a clear passage could see her get off the mark now. Fidelius might also have a say.
REPRISED appeals as one who should have more to come and can open her account. The speed Doctor Vuby showed on his 6f course debut suggests this shorter trip could suit and he's on the shortlist. Arthur Rose is an interesting newcomer.
It may be worth chancing ARTHUR ROSE who is bred to go a bit and comes from a stable which often gets them ready first time out.

1st (1) (5/1 +55%) High Opinion |
5/1(+55%) | (1) High Opinion 5/1, Beaten 8 lengths when seventh of 11 to John Kirkup in handicap at Redcar (5f, heavy, 8/1) 25 days ago. No obvious excuses that day, but he has slipped to a dangerous mark and would have a chance if he puts his best foot forward here. Infrequent winner but he's on a dangerous mark if reproducing this year's best form. |

2nd (3) (9/1 +18%) Gowanbuster |
9/1(+18%) | (3) Gowanbuster 9/1, C&D winner. Twenty-two runs since last win in 2020. Below form fifth of 9 in handicap (9/1) at this course (6f) 7 days ago. Likely to find a few too good once more. Retains ability but he needs to better last week's 6f effort to come out on top. |

50/1(+0%) | (11) Jailhouse Rock 50/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Tenth of 11 in handicap (80/1) at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 22 days ago, hampered. Something to find on form. No improvement for handicaps the last twice; others have more obvious claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) (6/1 -33%) John Kirkup |
6/1(-33%) | (8) John Kirkup 6/1, 11/2, didn't need to improve to win 11-runner handicap at Redcar (5f, heavy) 25 days ago. However, it remains to be seen if he'll be able to back that up returned to the AW, given that he's 0-10 on synthetics. Got up late at Redcar last month (5f, heavy); 0-10 on AW though and others are safer. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
John Kirkup arrives in winning form and is one to note, although his record of zero from 10 on the all-weather must be a worry. NELLIE FRENCH wouldn't necessarily be one for maximum faith, but she came agonizingly close in a similar C&D event recently and a repeat performance should put her bang there. Sherdil was just a place behind in third that day and also merits consideration.
SHERDIL was collared close home by Crypto Quest and the re-opposing Nellie French over C&D recently, but deserves extra credit for finishing as close as he did having had to make his move deepest on the track. The 4-y-o is taken to emerge on top this time, at the chief expense of Nellie French. Of the others, One Last Hug is feared most following a creditable recent effort here, while Stallone is also worth a second look off a mark 1 lb below that off which he scored at Southwell in July.
The C&D handicap 12 days ago where NELLIE FRENCH finished just in front of Sherdil could prove the key formline.

80/1(-220%) | (8) Road To Wembley 80/1, Twice-raced colt. 10/3, seventh of 10 in C&D 21 days ago. The fact he was so short in the betting suggests he's thought capable of better but he has a lot to find on form. No better than fifth in two AW runs at this trip; looks best watched for now. |

10th (3) (11/2 +8%) Eastern Dream |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Galloping On lived up to his name when fourth at Lingfield on his debut, staying on after being outpaced early in the race. If he improves for that experience he could mount a challenge, but DEBORA'S DREAM gets the nod. He arrives with the best form in the book and thoroughly deserves a victory after being beaten by a neck for the third time in five starts at Lingfield. He could win this if he retains that level, with Reine Des Coeurs and Eastern Dream newcomers to watch for future reference.
Perhaps this is the day that DEBORA'S DREAM finally gets off the mark. Galloping On made an encouraging start to his career when fourth at Lingfield last month and is second choice ahead of Formidable Force, who also hinted at promise on debut. Eastern Dream and Alvesta are newcomers of interest.
Another chance is given to DEBORA'S DREAM who has gone close in three of his five starts, with his latest effort perhaps his best yet.

4/1(-45%) | (3) South Kensington 4/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 16/5, third of 7 in novice at Newcastle (7f) 25 days ago, better placed than most. Makes handicap debut. His opening mark demands improvement. Promise in two of her first three starts as when third at Newcastle last time; considered. |

9/1(-6%) | (1) Falling For You 9/1, Off the mark at the third time of asking when getting on top close home in a 12-runner Windsor maiden (6f) in September. 9th (8) (12/1 +40%) Tokyo Drift |
12/1(+40%) | (8) Tokyo Drift 12/1, Modest maiden. Respectable sixth of 12 in nursery at Newcastle (6f) 32 days ago. Went close in a Thirsk maiden in May, but form has gradually regressed since; up in trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
SOUTH KENSINGTON ran well when switched to the all-weather last time out at Newcastle and this test appeals as an ideal opportunity to get off the mark at the fourth time of asking. The booking of David Probert can only aid her cause, and she is preferred to the likes of Kempton third Xaarine and Delicacy, who looks to have been crying out for this rise in distance.
XAARINE gets the nod to build on a promising nursery debut at Kempton a couple of weeks ago and strike under Billy Loughnane. Falling For You should find this a bit easier than the Class 2 event she ran in at Newmarket last time and is second choice ahead of handicap-newcomers Delicacy and Marie Ellen.
Preference is for DELICACY, whose fourth at Chelmsford last time was even better than it looked and the form has since been boosted.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
LIBERTY MOUNTAIN did it well when scoring comfortably over C&D last time and, as long as she can handle a wide draw, the double may be on the cards off a 5lb higher mark. Fellow C&D winner Initio is likely to be thereabouts, along with Intervention and Star Zinc, who bounced back to form at Newcastle earlier in the month.
Preference is for STAR ZINC, who was a comfortable winner at Newcastle earlier this month and remains on a workable mark. Thapa Vic and Intervention have both performed well here recently and head the list of dangers.
This can go to THAPA VC (nap) who loves it here (C&D record 111412) and is just 1lb higher than when taking this contest last year.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (16/1 +52%) Ciotog |
16/1(+52%) | (5) Ciotog 16/1, Course winner. Latest win at Bath in September. Creditable 4½ lengths seventh of 12 to Master of Combat in handicap at this C&D (14/1) 21 days ago, badly hampered. Needs a couple of these to falter. Twice behind Master Of Combat here last month; more needed if he is to reverse the form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (16/1 -88%) Hi Clare |
16/1(-88%) | (9) Hi Clare 16/1, Course winner. Latest win at Pontefract in June. Fifth of 8 in handicap (9/2) at Epsom (8.5f, good to firm) 44 days ago. Others more appealing. 1-2 on the AW, but she has become inconsistent so not quite sure what to expect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (6/1 +33%) Tarbaan |
6/1(+33%) | (2) Tarbaan 6/1, C&D winner. Latest win at Yarmouth in September. Respectable fifth of 11 in handicap (10/3) at Newcastle (10.2f) 11 days ago. Others more persuasive. C&D winner who scored at Yarmouth in September but behind Barley at Newcastle last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (4) (80/1 +20%) Robert Walpole |
80/1(+20%) | (4) Robert Walpole 80/1, First run since leaving Dan Skelton when last of 13 in handicap (50/1) at Kempton (12f) 20 days ago, reportedly bled. Down in trip. Best watched. Seems to have lost his way and tailed off on stable debut; plenty to prove. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
MASTER OF COMBAT is in the form of his life at present and there is every reason to suggest that he can bring up the hat-trick following a determined success over C&D last month, for which he has been handed a 5lb rise. Tiger Beetle arrives with similar claims following his own success over C&D recently, and he also narrowly saw off the selection at this track last December. An encouraging second at Newcastle earlier in the month, Barley is one for the shortlist.
MASTER OF COMBAT is in the form of his life, overcoming trouble late on to score over C&D last time. He remains fairly treated and is fancied to land the hat-trick. Recent winners Barley and Tiger Beetle are feared most.
The vote goes to TIGER BEETLE whose 9lb rise for his impressive recent C&D win still leaves him 2lb below his previous winning mark.

1st (7) (4/1 +33%) Bint Al Daar |
4/1(+33%) | (7) Bint Al Daar 4/1, Winner at Newmarket in August. Below par at same venue latest but had come close both starts previously and warrants respect. Below form last time and unplaced in four starts on the AW; has a bit to find. |

2nd (1) (4/1 +43%) Borgi |
4/1(+43%) | (1) Borgi 4/1, Course winner. Last of 8 in handicap at Nottingham (10.2f, heavy, 28/1) 34 days ago. May do better returned to AW surface. Record on Tapeta reads 121; hopes pinned on the return to this surface reinvigorating him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (8/1 +11%) Avon Light |
8/1(+11%) | (5) Avon Light 8/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 17/2, eighth of 9 in handicap at Yarmouth (11.5f, good to soft) 55 days ago. Others have achieved more. Best of four efforts when a close second in a novice over C&D; interesting back here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (6/1 +14%) Romilda |
6/1(+14%) | (6) Romilda 6/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Possibly unsuited by conditions when disappointing at Nottingham latest but had found improvement when fourth in Kempton maiden (8f) previously and must enter calculations. Tongue strap on first time. Kempton fourth better than three efforts on turf; longer trip should suit; tongue-tie on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (11/2 +61%) Midsummer Music |
11/2(+61%) | (9) Midsummer Music 11/2, Creditable fifth of 10 in handicap (18/1) at this course (8.6f) 42 days ago. Can give a good account without posing serious threat to principals. Has shown ability on turf/Tapeta, but a bit more is needed in order to win. |

6th (2) (4/1 -33%) Arcadian Nights |
4/1(-33%) | (2) Arcadian Nights 4/1, 4-time course winner. 3 wins from 9 runs this year. Eighth of 10 in handicap (28/1) at Windsor (10f, heavy) 22 days ago. Others preferred. Two wins over C&D this year and didn't enjoy much luck on latest visit; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (13/2 -117%) Light Up Our Stars |
13/2(-117%) | (4) Light Up Our Stars 13/2, Back to winning ways at Southwell (8.1f) in September and followed up in 9-runner handicap at this course (8.6f, 9/2) 19 days ago. 4 lb rise fair and looks sure to go well again. Bids for Tapeta hat-trick, but is 1-15 over trips beyond 9f which sounds a note of caution. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
LIGHT UP OUR STARS will arrive full of confidence following wins at Southwell (1m) and over an extended 1m here and, with stepping back up in trip unlikely to pose any problems, he is fancied to complete the hat-trick. Bint Al Daar steps back down in class and should make her presence felt, while Another Beautiful may improve for the application of a hood.
The hat-trick seeking LIGHT UP OUR STARS still looks feasibly treated on old form and may be able to score again. Romilda and Bint Al Daar look the likeliest dangers.
The vote goes to ARCADIAN NIGHTS, a dual C&D winner this year who didn't enjoy much luck in a better race on his latest visit.

10/3(+26%) | (3) Hellavapace 10/3, C&D winner. 13/2, fourth of 6 in handicap at Chelmsford City (8f) 4 days ago. Remains on a competitive mark and could have a part to play. Conditions to suit; shaped OK at Chelmsford latest; R Hornby replaces 7lb claimer; chance. |

5/1(+33%) | (11) Available Angel 5/1, Creditable third of 9 in handicap at this course (7.2f, 9/1) 21 days ago. Back up in trip and she should make her presence felt. Third over 7f here last month; stays this far and holds each-way claims. |

5th (6) (11/2 +27%) Urban Champion |
11/2(+27%) | (6) Urban Champion 11/2, Last of 6 in handicap at Ripon (8f, good to firm, 8/1), finding nothing. Off 145 days and he's probably worth taking on. Promise in first two handicaps but absent since a poor run at Ripon in June. |

6th (1) (8/1 +0%) Brave Display |
8/1(+0%) | (1) Brave Display 8/1, Course winner. 28/1, creditable third of 12 in handicap at this course (7.2f) 8 days ago, sticking to task. Back up in trip and eyecover on 1st time. Each-way shout. Placed over 7f here last week; longer trip should be no problem; contender. |

17/2(+66%) | (8) Sea The Buckthorn 17/2, Unreliable type. 66/1, below form seventh of 12 in handicap at Chelmsford City (8f) 26 days ago. Others make more appeal. Yet to shine for new stable and remains opposable despite a reduced mark. |

8th (7) (80/1 -142%) Miss Sarajevo |
80/1(-142%) | (7) Miss Sarajevo 80/1, Sixth of 8 in handicap at Lingfield (7f, AW, 80/1) 18 days ago. Up in trip here and she needs to raise her game considerably. 7f AW winner for R Spencer one year ago; run to form just once for new yard; check betting. |

9th (10) (40/1 -233%) Man Made Of Smoke |
40/1(-233%) | (10) Man Made Of Smoke 40/1, Course winner. One win from 27 Flat runs. Fourth of 7 in handicap at this C&D (16/1). Off 120 days ahead of this debut for new yard and sports first-time cheekpieces. Just 1-27 for former yard but his win came at this track; new headgear for stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (4) (4/1 -7%) Revoquable |
4/1(-7%) | (4) Revoquable 4/1, Improved on recent efforts to win 11-runner handicap (7/2) at Newcastle (8f) 14 days ago, all out. Shade more needed here off this 3 lb higher mark, but he's a player nonetheless. Drew clear with runner-up when scoring at Wolverhampton two weeks ago; contender up 3lb. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
REVOQUABLE was game in victory over 1m at Newcastle last month and a 3lb rise might not be enough to anchor him if arriving in the same mood. Kenstone was only beaten a neck into third over 7f here last time and he has a definite chance lining up off the same rating, similarly Brave Display, who is on a workable mark at present.
This step back up in trip is unlikely to inconvenience the 10-y-o KENSTONE, who bounced back from a couple of lesser efforts when going close over 7.2f here three weeks ago. He remains on a competitive mark (just 1 lb higher than for his latest success) and gets the nod. Available Angel put in a good shift when third to an upwardly mobile type at this course last time and she is second choice ahead of recent Newcastle winner Revoquable and Hellavapace.
A tricky race in which HELLAVAPACE is tentatively preferred to Kenstone and Revoquable.

7/1(+42%) | (9) Assembled 7/1, 10/3, respectable third of 9 in handicap at Windsor (10f, heavy) 22 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Back up in trip and he's not without each-way hope. Willing Windsor winner (1m4f) penultimate; drop back to 1m2f possibly didn't suit latest.. |

2nd (3) (14/1 -27%) Pysanka |
14/1(-27%) | (3) Pysanka 14/1, C&D winner last month. Well-beaten last of 10 to Ghostly in handicap (14/1) at Newcastle (12.4f) 12 days ago. Opposable on the back of that display. Broke his duck in steadily run C&D affair (5-2 favourite) in early October; no joy since.. |

3rd (5) (11/10 +63%) Cornish Storm |
11/10(+63%) | (5) Cornish Storm 11/10, Career best when winning 14-runner handicap at Kempton (12f, 13/2) 53 days ago, plenty in hand. 7 lb rise probably won't be enough to prevent him from going in again, provided he's in a similar mood. Gained first career win at Kempton (1m4f, Cl6, 13-2) in September; 7lb rise looks fair.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (10/1 -43%) Virtual Hug |
10/1(-43%) | (4) Virtual Hug 10/1, One win from 22 Flat runs. 10/1, improved on recent efforts to win 9-runner handicap at this course (14f) 8 days ago by 2 lengths from Bear Claws. More needed under a penalty, but should be on the premises. 22nd-time lucky on Flat over 1m6f here last week (beat Bear Claws); carries a 5lb penalty.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (9/1 -38%) Bear Claws |
9/1(-38%) | (7) Bear Claws 9/1, 9/4, creditable 2 lengths second of 9 to Virtual Hug in handicap at this course (14f) 8 days ago, making effort earlier than ideal. May well reverse the placings with that rival on these revised terms. Consistent in three UK AW starts; 5lb better off with last week's conqueror Virtual Hug.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (7/1 -40%) Global Tycoon |
7/1(-40%) | (6) Global Tycoon 7/1, 10/3, didn't need to improve to win 10-runner handicap at this C&D 24 days ago. 3 lb rise tolerable, but this is a tougher race. Had a couple of these behind when winning - first go over 1m4f - here latest; 3lb higher.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (25/1 -150%) Ghostly |
25/1(-150%) | (8) Ghostly 25/1, Three wins from 15 runs this year. Not taken lightly. 3lb higher for latest Newcastle amateurs' 'win' (awarded race by the stewards); chance.. |

8th (1) (16/1 +20%) Ae Fond Kiss |
16/1(+20%) | (1) Ae Fond Kiss 16/1, 11/2, last of 8 in handicap at Catterick (13.9f, heavy) 24 days ago. By no means handicapped out of things, but she nevertheless looks vulnerable for win purposes. Runner-up penultimate (btn 15l); struggled on similarly testing ground at Catterick since.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) (80/1 -186%) Odd Venture |
80/1(-186%) | (11) Odd Venture 80/1, Latest win at Musselburgh in July. Thirteenth of 14 in handicap (20/1) at Thirsk (12f, soft) 57 days ago. Others preferred. Poor strike-rate (2-38); hasn't kicked on positively since winning at Musselburgh in July.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (12) (100/1 -52%) Decoration Of War |
100/1(-52%) | (12) Decoration Of War 100/1, Course winner. Seventeen runs since last win in 2018. Pulled up in handicap chase (22/1) at Exeter (17.5f, soft) 21 days ago, possibly amiss. Not seen out on the Flat for some time and he's readily passed over. Pulled up over fences at Exeter three weeks ago; first Flat run since October 2021.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (10) (15/2 +38%) Looklikewemadeit |
15/2(+38%) | (10) Looklikewemadeit 15/2, Thrice-raced maiden. First run since leaving David Evans when seventh of 12 in minor event (150/1) at this course (9.5f) 24 days ago, needing stiffer test. Open to improvement back up in trip for this handicap debut. Late headway on first start for Kubler's (150-1); extra yardage may suit on handicap debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
A number of these look to hold claims, so CORNISH STORM receives what can only be a tentative vote. He won pretty much as he liked over this trip at Kempton last time and providing he can reproduce that level of performance, he should remain competitive off a 7lb higher mark. Virtual Hug ran to a similar level when successful over 1m6f here latest and he is a must for the shortlist, while Global Tycoon and Bear Claws are others to note.
It's taken CORNISH STORM time to get the hang of things, but he did just that in no uncertain terms when striking at Kempton in September and he looks more than capable of following up off this 7 lb higher mark. Bear Claw has a good chance of reversing recent placings with Virtual Hug on these revised terms and he is feared most. Handicap debutante Looklikewemadeit is third choice, with Ghostly, who returned to form at Newcastle 12 days ago, also shortlisted.
Stacks of overlapping form. The suggestion is the Kempton scorer CORNISH STORM, who should continue to progress over middle distances.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
