1st (8) (6/4 +50%) Skyjack Hijack |
6/4(+50%) | (8) Skyjack Hijack 6/4, Progressing well for forcing tactics, following up his Cartmel win with a clear-cut success in 7-runner handicap hurdle at Perth (3m, soft) 4 weeks ago, drawing clear from 2 out. This is a step up in class after a 10 lb rise but he looks sure to go well again. 12l win at Perth last time and has been raised 10lb but that probably underestimates him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (8/1 -14%) City Derby |
8/1(-14%) | (5) City Derby 8/1, Completed a Cartmel 4-timer in staying handicaps this summer and ran at least as well in defeat when third at Perth (Idem second) last month. Clearly needs to pull out a bit more from current mark. Four-timer at Cartmel this summer; latest start suggests this mark might be a bit harsh. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (3/1 -9%) Lihyan |
3/1(-9%) | (2) Lihyan 3/1, Enjoying a good campaign, following up from Worcester (23f) with another improved performance to take Uttoxeter contest under this rider 3 weeks ago, doing well to come from last to first in a falsely-run race. Got to be respected in hat-trick bid. Comes from last, winning at Worcester and Uttoxeter on his last two starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (16/1 -14%) Bridge North |
16/1(-14%) | (3) Bridge North 16/1, Went off the rails over fences but went with much more zest after the fitting of a visor/return to hurdling before taking a late fall at Doncaster (3m) in February when looking set to win. Failed to complete once again at Perth when last seen and clearly risky on return. Disappointing over fences last term; fell/unseated in two of three runs back over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (4/1 +27%) Chris Cool |
4/1(+27%) | (6) Chris Cool 4/1, Generally solid record over hurdles and got back on the up when seeing off an unexposed rival (pair clear) at Huntingdon (25f) in April. Good third at Ludlow final start and respected on return having won first time up last season. Started and ended last season well in staying handicaps, finishing in career-best form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (40/1 -100%) Polish |
40/1(-100%) | (7) Polish 40/1, Placed in a 3m Southwell hunter in March, but fell at Cheltenham next time and having left Fergal O'Brien went with no encouragement back handicapping at Cartmel 9 weeks ago. Hard to fancy back hurdling. Second run for this yard; highly questionable whether he can capitalise on a good mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (9/1 -6%) Invictus World |
9/1(-6%) | (4) Invictus World 9/1, Downpatrick maiden hurdle winner last season and ran well after 9 months off, especially as he was checked when coming with a threatening effort, at Hexham in June. Fell at Perth 2 months later and following a similar absence has stamina to prove up in class now. Fell in two handicaps, minor honours in the other two; first crack at 3m makes some appeal. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
In a competitive event, marginal preference is for LIHYAN, who secured a double when scoring over 2m7f at Uttoxeter earlier in the month. A 3lb rise for that effort appears to be fair and the progressive six-year-old can make it a hat-trick. Skyjack Hijack has a similar profile to the selection and is an obvious danger, while City Derby and Chris Cool are others to note.
SKYJACK HIJACK and Lihyan are chasing hat-tricks and look the pair to focus on, with Jennie Candlish's lightly-raced hurdler selected. He took a big step forward when making all at Perth last month, that performance suggesting there is even better to come. Lihyan has more miles on the clock but has built up a good strike rate since the spring and can go well again. The returning Chris Cool is another to consider.
There are serious rivals but SKYJACK HIJACK (nap) makes plenty of appeal judged on his Perth win and is open to further improvement.

1st (6) (1/3 +100%) Mozzies Sister |
1/3(+100%) | (6) Mozzies Sister 1/3, Point winner who quickly reached a useful level in bumpers, doubling her tally at Down Royal (16.9f) in August prior to a good second in mares' listed event at Gowran (2m) 23 days ago. Good prospect now her attentions switch to timber. Smart bumper performer related to winning hurdlers; looks the one to beat on hurdles debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (4/1 -45%) Whimsy |
4/1(-45%) | (8) Whimsy 4/1, Fairly useful hurdler (placed on 5 of her 6 starts). Enjoyed a productive summer on the Flat, successful at Carlisle (14f) in June and far from disgraced after 4 months off when fourth of 15 in handicap at the Curragh (12f) 22 days ago. Well up to making her mark back in this sphere. Decent dual-purpose mare ran well on Flat recently; sure to give a good account. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (11/1 -10%) Fillusin |
11/1(-10%) | (1) Fillusin 11/1, Bumper winner who shaped as if in need of the experience when third of 12 in a mares' maiden on hurdles debut at Fairyhouse (2m) 3 weeks ago. Represents top yard and she's open to improvement. Creditable recent hurdles debut and given normal improvement should be in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (8/1 -45%) Half Past Tipsy |
8/1(-45%) | (2) Half Past Tipsy 8/1, £200,000 4-y-o, Muhtathir mare. Successful on second of 2 starts in points but proved to be a disappointment when fifth of 9 in bumper at Down Royal (16.9f, soft, 4/6) on NH debut in March, racing freely. Hood worn then retained and she's certainly not one to be giving up on. Points' winner too keen on bumper debut back in March; hurdles debut after summer break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (33/1 -175%) Mollys Kingdom |
33/1(-175%) | (5) Mollys Kingdom 33/1, Modest hurdler. 33/1, last of 5 in novice hurdle at Cork (24.2f, good) 14 days ago, first beaten in face of stiff task. Handicaps will prove more her bag. Gowran maiden second but well held since at Cork; place claims at best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (100/1 -52%) Light Her Up |
100/1(-52%) | (4) Light Her Up 100/1, Lightly-raced maiden under NH rules. Eighth of 12 in novice hurdle at Fairyhouse (16f, good, 28/1) on hurdles bow 20 days ago. Beaten a long way on recent hurdles debut at Fairyhouse where Fillusin was third. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (250/1 -67%) Snugsborough Jc |
250/1(-67%) | (7) Snugsborough Jc 250/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 80/1, probably needed the run after well over 2 years off when seventh of 8 in novice hurdle at Killarney (17f, soft) 21 days ago. This ought to reveal more but her overall record is anything but inspiring. Nothing over hurdles, most recently after mammoth absence at Killarney early this month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (250/1 -67%) Just Merry |
250/1(-67%) | (3) Just Merry 250/1, Mahler mare. Dam unraced sister to modest hurdler (2m winner) Be My Witness. 66/1 and tongue strap on, fell first on debut in a course maiden here (16.6f) 19 days ago. This should reveal more but she's likely best watched. First-flight faller on recent Galway debut when a 66-1 shot; best watched. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
MOZZIES SISTER is a smart bumper performer and has prior point-to-point experience, so should take all the beating on hurdles debut. An impressive points winner, she has run to a high level in each of her bumper starts and is hard to oppose being consistent, race-fit and ground versatile. Whimsy is herself a three-time Flat winner with previous hurdling experience. She is also ground versatile and has shown nice hurdling ability. Half Past Tipsy was a 200,000-pound purchase following her pointing victory and while she was too keen on her bumper debut last March, he should be better suited to reverting to jumping. Fillusin has place prospects but needs to improve to win.
A lightly-raced winner in points, MOZZIES SISTER quickly reached a useful level when landing 2 of her 4 starts in bumpers and, appealing as a good prospect now hurdling, she earns the vote to make an immediate impact. Likeable mare Whimsy boasts fairly useful form already in this sphere and is feared with a recent run on the Flat under her belt. Half Past Tipsy is another to keep an eye on.
Clearly the best of these in bumpers, MOZZIES SISTER can make a winning start over hurdles

1st (5) (33/1 -32%) Getalead |
33/1(-32%) | (5) Getalead 33/1, Added to his tally with pair of small-field victories in September 2022. Very lightly raced since, running no sort of race when pulled up at Kempton (24.5f) back in May. Drops back markedly in trip on this first start for 6 months. Absent 311 days before below form in 2024, given wind surgery before penultimate start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (11/1 +31%) Gold For Alec |
11/1(+31%) | (9) Gold For Alec 11/1, Showed some promise in 2 bumpers and similar story in finishing fourth in pair of hurdle outings during second half of last season. Makes a quick switch to handicaps on return to action and significant if the market spoke in his favour. Beaten about 12l in both hurdle starts (after two bumpers) but unexposed handicap debutant. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (12/1 +40%) Tour Ovalie |
12/1(+40%) | (8) Tour Ovalie 12/1, Fair in bumpers and of similar merit over hurdles, off the mark in mares' handicap at Stratford (16.3f) in May. Respectable efforts in handicaps at Cartmel/Newton Abbot thereafter but she likely needs to pull out a little more back from a break. Won at Stratford in May; creditable both starts since but needs to find something extra. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (20/1 -150%) Douglas Dc |
20/1(-150%) | (3) Douglas Dc 20/1, Fair handicapper hurdler who returned to form in refitted cheekpieces when runner-up in 7-runner handicap hurdle at Worcester (2m) 30 days ago, tackled final 1f and worried out of it. This looks a tougher ask. Looked set to win for most of the closing stages last time but went down by a nose. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (4/1 +47%) Pyrotechnic |
4/1(+47%) | (6) Pyrotechnic 4/1, Winner on the Flat in France. Definite promise to glean from first 2 starts over hurdles and he did too much on the front end when twelfth of 18 in novice hurdle at Newbury (16.3f, heavy) in December. Remains low-mileage and he appeals as the type to do better now handicapping. Had wind surgery. Tailed off on third go over hurdles, before wind op; off 312 days but could be interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (8/1 +0%) Him Malaya |
8/1(+0%) | (4) Him Malaya 8/1, C&D winner who posted good placed efforts over hurdles at Kempton/Ludlow in the spring. Never figured sent chasing at Newton Abbot (21f) in June but he appeals as the type to bounce back returned to hurdling/after 5 months off. Chase debut in June did not go at all smoothly but he should be competitive back hurdling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (10/3 +33%) Therapist |
10/3(+33%) | (7) Therapist 10/3, Steadily progressive hurdler who landed back-to-back handicaps at Southwell/Huntingdon in May and placed all 3 starts since, doing well to split a better placed pair when second at Newton Abbot (16.7f) in September. Of interest again. Progressive form in handicap hurdles and her Flat level suggests she can do better still. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (9/2 +0%) Liverpool Knight |
9/2(+0%) | (1) Liverpool Knight 9/2, Raised his game for a third victory of 2023/24 at Market Rasen (16.6f) last September and he lines up here in good form, running up to best when third at Uttoxeter (20f) in July. Switched yards since and this reliable operator looks sure to give another good account. Three wins last July-September and mostly ran creditably in defeat since; left Olly Murphy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (4/1 -78%) Reach For The Moon |
4/1(-78%) | (2) Reach For The Moon 4/1, Smart Flat winner who struck at fourth attempt over hurdles at Worcester (2m) in July and suited by emphasis on speed when defying a penalty back from a break at Fontwell (17.7f) 23 days ago. Definite potential for better still now handicapping and this test looks ideal. Won last two; makes handicap hurdle debut and looks to be getting his act together again. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
REACH FOR THE MOON is starting to put it all together now over hurdles and arrives here full of confidence following back-to-back wins at Worcester and Fontwell. His running style should be well suited to this track and further improvement likely beckons on his handicap debut in this sphere. Therapist was narrowly denied at Newton Abbot latest and should be thereabouts again, while Him Malaya is back over timber for this assignment and appeals as the sole C&D winner in the field.
Smart Flat performer/dual hurdles winner, REACH FOR THE MOON very much appeals as the type who will be ideally suited by the demands of this sort of test now handicapping and earns the vote to complete the hat-trick. 4-y-o Therapist is holding form very well and she's a threat, as is the reliable Liverpool Knight and the returning Him Malaya.
Reach For The Moon and Pyrotechnic must be noted but THERAPIST has done well in handicap hurdles and further progress is likely.

1st (2) (4/6 +47%) Jasko Des Dames |
4/6(+47%) | (2) Jasko Des Dames 4/6, French bumper winner. Fairy useful hurdler, not at best when third of 18 in novice hurdle (7/4) at Listowel (22f, good) 35 days ago. However, it remains early days and he's one of the more interesting types now attentions switch to chasing. Bumper winner, rated 124 over hurdles, makes chasing debut, may need softer ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (10/3 -90%) An Peann Dearg |
10/3(-90%) | (1) An Peann Dearg 10/3, Fairly useful chaser. 9/2, may of found the trip stretching him when fourth of 10 in novice chase at Ballinrobe (23.3f, soft) 62 days ago. Drop back in distance looks in his favour now and no surprise to see him back to form. Rated 116, good run in a h'cap over C&D in August, has experience edge, the one to beat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (50/1 -79%) New Barn Lane |
50/1(-79%) | (4) New Barn Lane 50/1, Modest hurdler. Tenth of 14 in novice chase (150/1) at this course (19.5f, good to soft) 106 days ago. Handicaps likely to be more his bag in this sphere. No impact in two chase starts, unseated and then beaten 20l over C&D, watch for now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (11/2 -22%) The Lovely Man |
11/2(-22%) | (6) The Lovely Man 11/2, Fairly useful maiden over hurdles who was twice a runner-up prior to a below-par fifteenth of 24 in handicap hurdle at Punchestown (19.4f, good to soft) 180 days ago. Has plenty of size about him and interesting if the market spoke in his favour now chasing. 0-9 over hurdles and rated 117, makes chasing debut, may prefer it softer, check market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (50/1 -52%) Midweek Voices |
50/1(-52%) | (3) Midweek Voices 50/1, Fair hurdler. Sixth of 8 in novice chase at Sligo (21.1f, good, 20/1) on debut over fences 25 days ago, his jumping far from fluent and ultimately beaten some way out. 0-7 over hurdles, jumped poorly on chase debut at Sligo on latest, others look more likely. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (8/1 +43%) Prince Palace |
8/1(+43%) | (5) Prince Palace 8/1, Fairly useful hurdler. Fourth of 7 in novice chase (10/1) at Tipperary (23.4f, good to soft) on debut over fences in May. Feasible to think he can do better in this sphere back from 5 months off. Rated 117 over timber, well-beaten on chase debut at Tipperary, lacks a recent run, watch. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Having had his stamina stretched by the extended 2m7f when fourth at Ballinrobe last time out, AN PEANN DEARG makes plenty of appeal on his return to today's extended 2m3f trip. A reproduction of his penultimate third over C&D could be enough to see the seven-year-old open his account. The biggest threat may emerge from chase debutant Jasko Des Dames, who has the form over hurdles to suggest he can land a race of this nature. The Lovely Man looks best of the remainder.
A few of these arrive with claims but AN PEANN DEARG may just have found his stamina stretched when fourth at Ballinrobe a couple of months ago and he's given the vote to get back on track returned to this shorter trip. Chase debutants Jasko des Dames and The Lovely Man are others to consider.
This looks a good chance for AN PEANN DEARG. A repeat of his third in a good ground h'cap over C&D back in August could suffice.

1st (5) (3/1 +25%) Imperial Saint |
3/1(+25%) | (5) Imperial Saint 3/1, £40,000 purchase after an Irish point win. Followed up on 2m Ludlow hurdle debut for new yard in November and having made frame next 3 starts, he improved for the step up in trip when landing 10-runner Ffos Las handicap (20f) in April. Good prospect now chasing. Won over hurdles when last seen and this point winner could have more to offer now chasing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (3/1 +45%) Petit Tonnerre |
3/1(+45%) | (3) Petit Tonnerre 3/1, Useful hurdler at his best who didn't convince with his jumping tried chasing last season. Largely below his best over hurdles subsequently, latterly at Cartmel in June but returns to chasing potentially very well treated if he's improved in the jumping department. Disappointing on last two starts in May/June but on a dangerous mark on last season's best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (8/1 +0%) Parisencore |
8/1(+0%) | (2) Parisencore 8/1, Did the job well when opening chase account at Perth (2½m, good to firm) in June and arrives here on the back of a couple of solid placed efforts over the same C&D. Fact he's fit and in form ought to county for plenty here. Has run well in defeat at Perth the last twice and he might not be far away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (12/1 -9%) Hidalgo De L'isle |
12/1(-9%) | (6) Hidalgo De L'isle 12/1, Dual hurdles winner who showed improved form to make a winning chase debut at Newton Abbot (16.3f) in August and he matched that level when runner-up at Worcester (16.5f) 6 weeks ago. This looks tougher but he's going the right way. Won on chase debut in August and bumped into thriving winner last month; could be involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (7/1 -100%) Densworth |
7/1(-100%) | (1) Densworth 7/1, Bumper winner who made light of an 11-month absence when adding a third hurdles victory to his tally at Doncaster (16.6f, heavy) in March. Pulled at the Grand National meeting on final start in April but goes chasing on return with his yard going very nicely. One to note. Very in and out profile but has impressive 4-9 strike-rate; interesting on chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (9/2 +0%) Goodwin |
9/2(+0%) | (4) Goodwin 9/2, Fairly useful bumper winner who quickly reached a similar level in novice hurdles, again displaying a good attitude to make it 2 wins from 4 starts at Newbury (16.3f) in March. Boasts a positive profile now handicapping over fences and interesting if the market spoke in his favour. 2-4 in novice hurdles and he brings plenty of potential to this handicap/chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|RO| (7) (11/2 -22%) Moveit Like Minnie |
11/2(-22%) | (7) Moveit Like Minnie 11/2, Fairly useful handicap hurdler around 2m and fine start over fences back from 6 months off when scoring at Stratford (17f) in September. Looked set to play a hand in finish when unseating 3 out at Ffos Las (2m, soft) 2 weeks ago and respected for stable in great order. Won with something to spare on chase debut and bang there when unseating 3 out last time. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
GOODWIN accounted for a useful rival when taking a novice hurdle at Newbury on his final start last season and it would be no surprise to see him score on his chasing bow off a mark of 124. Parisencore has not been beaten far at Perth twice in recent months and is likely to be in the mix once again. Others to consider are Imperial Saint and Hidalgo De L'isle.
A steadily improving sort over hurdles, IMPERIAL SAINT has the hallmarks of one who will make up in to an even better chaser this season (former point winner) so could be worth siding with on seasonal bow before market clues. Goodwin looked a likeable straightforward type himself over hurdles and is another to note on return. Fit and in-form pair Moveit Like Minnie and Parisencore are others to consider.
A tough little puzzle. Chasing newcomer DENSWORTH has an oscillating profile but has frequently looked very good and goes well fresh.

16/1(+0%) | (5) Maxi Mac Gold 16/1, Fairly useful hurdler. Fairly useful winner at 25f over hurdles. Third of 5 in novice chase at Gowran (20f, good to firm, 3/1) on debut over fences 22 days ago. Cheekpieces on for 1st time. Justified favouritism at Cork in May; low-key chase debut latest but cheekpieces may help. |

12th (1) (28/1 -75%) Arion Soldier |
28/1(-75%) | (1) Arion Soldier 28/1, Lightly-raced winner over hurdles. Fair winner at 24f over hurdles. Career best when winning 10-runner novice hurdle at Cork (24.4f, heavy, 14/1). Off 6 months. Makes chase debut. Getting better with each run and landed maiden hurdle when last seen; chase debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Dual Grade 3 winner SEARCH FOR GLORY should be suited by chasing being a debut point-to-point winner and a dour stayer. He can race lazily and jump left but bigger obstacles may focus his mind over today's suitable distance. Similarly, Mint Boy stays well and will be suited by chasing, and while rated 137 over hurdles, he didn't compete at Graded level in that sphere. Sa Majeste also possesses a similar hurdles rating and, a 2022 Auteuil winner before defeating Noble Yeats last Christmas, he was well held in two big-race handicaps last spring, although at least finished ahead of plenty rivals at Sandown. Arion Soldier is built for fences and while he won impressively last April, he faces a tougher test here.
Useful hurdler SEARCH FOR GLORY promises to make an even better chaser so he gets the nod over fellow chase debutants Sa Majeste and Mint Boy, who were also useful over timber.
SIR ARGUS went close over this course and distance on his chase debut in 2023 and the subsequent absence isn't a major concern

1st (3) (1/2 +31%) East India Dock |
1/2(+31%) | (3) East India Dock 1/2, Useful staying handicapper on the Flat for James Fanshawe and rates a good hurdle prospect having joined James Owen (same owner). Progressed into a useful stayer on Flat, including two wins; half-brother to Burdett Road. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (4/1 -14%) Hot Fuss |
4/1(-14%) | (5) Hot Fuss 4/1, Useful on Flat (stays 1¾m). Interesting recruit to hurdles. His useful Flat form (goes well on soft and heavy) is almost the best in this line-up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (5/1 +38%) Give It To Me Oj |
5/1(+38%) | (4) Give It To Me Oj 5/1, Fairly useful form on Flat (stays 1½m). Stamina shouldn't be an issue now hurdling but a couple of these are better than him on the Flat. Seven-race maiden on Flat but has pretty useful form up to 1m3f; cheekpieces off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (25/1 -39%) Battle Of Omdurman |
25/1(-39%) | (1) Battle Of Omdurman 25/1, Fair maiden on the Flar who made a winning start over hurdles for Deborah Cole at Stratford (2m, good, 15/2) in July. Matched that form when second under a penalty at Uttoxeter but ran poorly at Wetherby recently. 1st and 2nd in his first two hurdle races; pulled up as if something amiss 11 days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (80/1 -300%) Mach Ten |
80/1(-300%) | (6) Mach Ten 80/1, Fair maiden on Flat (stays 1¾m) for Karl Burke. New connections went to 35,000 gns to acquire him in July. Will likely need to be well above average to see off some of these rivals on hurdle debut. Fair maiden on the Flat for Karl Burke, 2nd over 1m6f in May latest; 35,000gns buy in July. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (100/1 -150%) Rapid Mission |
100/1(-150%) | (7) Rapid Mission 100/1, Fairly useful handicapper on Flat (stays 12.5f) but well held switched to hurdles at Chepstow 15 days ago. Can only watch after that. Both British Flat runs were disappointing and he tailed off on hurdling debut at Chepstow. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (100/1 -100%) St Lukes Chelsea |
100/1(-100%) | (8) St Lukes Chelsea 100/1, Modest maiden on Flat (stays 1m) for Ralph Beckett at 2. Switches to hurdles for new yard after 11 months off. A watching brief is advised. Modest maiden on Flat as 2yo for Ralph Beckett; sold for 13,000gns last November. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (33/1 +0%) Masonbrook Meadow |
33/1(+0%) | (9) Masonbrook Meadow 33/1, Fair maiden on Flat (stays 1¼m) who has hit the frame on all 4 starts since switching to hurdles but is likely to find at least the odd one too strong again in this warm race. In the frame on all four hurdling starts but another minor role is probably her best hope. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (40/1 -60%) Sophie Power |
40/1(-60%) | (10) Sophie Power 40/1, Won a 1½m conditions event on soft ground for Henri Devin on her sole Flat start in France. Worth a look in the betting on hurdle debut but a useful effort will likely be needed to see off some of these rivals Won at Wissembourg (1m4f, soft) in May on her only French Flat start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (66/1 -633%) Crest Of Honour |
66/1(-633%) | (2) Crest Of Honour 66/1, Went off at 4/5 but ran is needing the run when well-held fourth of 5 on Hereford debut 13 days ago, dropping away from home turn. Evidently thought capable of better. 2-1 favourite at Hereford (2m, good) 13 days ago but beaten 23l in fourth of five. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Clearly a lot more was expected from Crest Of Honour when he could only manage fourth of five on debut at Hereford 13 days ago, as the punters sent him off a 2-1 favourite. He'll no doubt improve for the experience, but it could pay to focus on some of the interesting Flat recruits and EAST INDIA DOCK leaps off the page for James Owen and Sam Twiston-Davies. He was in great nick on the level last month, including when scoring at Goodwood, and should know his job given his connections. Give It To Me Oj and Hot Fuss are also key players.
Some of these have achieved enough on the Flat to think they could make good juvenile hurdlers, notably EAST INDIA DOCK who has joined James Owen for his jumps career. Hot Fuss is a similar standard to the selection on the level and is second choice ahead of Give It To Me Oj.
This looks ripe for a hurdling newcomer as EAST INDIA DOCK, Hot Fuss and Give It To Me Oj have plenty of ability on the Flat.

Bounce back rates distinctly possible. Engaged 4.13 Galway Saturday. Course winner over hurdles, placed here over fences, leading claims back on good ground. |

Looks up to making his mark again back down in trip. Landed a nice pot at Killarney, another good effort latest, likes good ground, chance. |

7/2(-17%) | (2) Music Of Tara 7/2, 14/1, respectable 13¾ lengths third of 6 to Shecouldbeanything in Like A Butterfly Novices' Chase at Tipperary (20.1f, good to soft) 21 days ago. Switch to handicaps in her favour and she's worth considering with that under her belt. Novice chase winner, beaten 14l in Grade 3 latest, h'cap chase debutante, can't discount. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (15/2 -114%) Ballybawn Belter |
15/2(-114%) | (5) Ballybawn Belter 15/2, Useful hurdler who hasn't threatened in a trio of maiden contests over fences but noted doing some good late work on qualifying run at Ballinrobe (23.3f) 44 days ago. Set to prove a different proposition now handicapping in this sphere. One to note. Three-time hurdle winner, 0-3 in chases, could be well-treated for h'cap chase bow, claims. |

6th (3) (10/3 +33%) Popova |
10/3(+33%) | (3) Popova 10/3, Fairly useful hurdler who displayed similar form when making a winning chase debut at Tipperary (19.5f) in July. Similar form when fourth in Grade 3 company next time but absent since finishing down the field in novice company at Killarney (23.3f) in August. Makes handicap chase debut. Beginners chase winner; may be well-treated on her Galway Grade 3 effort, could go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (7) (12/1 +25%) Happy Dreams |
12/1(+25%) | (7) Happy Dreams 12/1, Fourteenth of 18 in handicap hurdle at Gowran (20.2f, good to soft, 14/1) 23 days ago, possibly in need of the run after 7 months off. Switches from hurdles to chase and better showing distinctly possible. Four-time chase winner on soft-heavy, best form is on testing ground, needs rain. |

|PU| (4) (33/1 -50%) Aarons Day |
33/1(-50%) | (4) Aarons Day 33/1, 50/1, last of 15 in handicap hurdle at Bellewstown (20.5f, good) 60 days ago. Switches from hurdles to chase. Visored for 1st time. Lost form since winning at Naas last year, pulled up in last two chases, others preferred. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Music Of Tara arrives on the back of a fair third in a Grade 3 novice chase at Tipperary and she warrants consideration reverting to handicap company. However, WALNUT BEACH's latest performances look more solid and a 1lb nudge up in the ratings for his placed effort at Listowel could prove on the lenient side. Ballybawn Belter is attractively handicapped in this sphere compared to hurdles and Liz Doyle's mare is also noted.
MUSIC OF TARA is entitled to be sharper for her first start for 5 months in Grade 3 company at Tipperary 3 weeks ago and, with the switch to handicaps a positive, she looks to hold good claims for her in-form yard. Walnut Beach arrives in good form and is feared, with Ballybawn Belter another to keep a close eye on making her respective handicap debut in this sphere.
Preference is for WATCH THE WEATHER. The ground may have been too soft last time out and he has gone well at this venue before.

1st (4) (3/1 +25%) Minella Drama |
3/1(+25%) | (4) Minella Drama 3/1, Smart performer who returned with a good second in this 12 months ago. Just the one decent effort after but this may be the time to catch him. (1 lb out of the handicap). Runs off a mark 6lb lower than when runner-up 12 months ago so is well worth a second look. |

2nd (3) (11/2 +0%) Hitman |
11/2(+0%) | (3) Hitman 11/2, Failed to deliver last season but starts the new campaign off a fair mark and went close in this on his comeback 2 years ago. Tailed off in this 12 months ago but went very close in 2022; capable of having a big say. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (11/2 -22%) Ahoy Senor |
11/2(-22%) | (1) Ahoy Senor 11/2, Top-class chaser on his day with a fine record here (Grade 1 winner over hurdles/fences) and ended last term with an excellent ½-length second of 7 in Bowl Chase at this course (25f, soft, 17/2). Record fresh not great but still warrants plenty of respect. He's needed his reappearance in last two seasons but has to be respected given record here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (2/1 -23%) Stage Star |
2/1(-23%) | (2) Stage Star 2/1, Won Grade 1 Golden Miller at 2023 Festival and took form up another notch with victory in Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham on return last season. Can't have been right when pulled up there on New Year's Day before not disgraced in Ryanair final start. Goes well fresh so big run expected. Last November's Paddy Power Gold Cup winner who has an excellent reappearance record. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (4/1 +75%) Unexpected Party |
4/1(+75%) | (5) Unexpected Party 4/1, Emerged with credit against some of the top-flight British novices of 2022/23 and bounced back to best when landing Grand Annual Chase at Cheltenham last season. Might have found Red Rum coming too soon here final start and not taken lightly despite being 3 lb out of the handicap. Won Grand Annual in March and record when fresh provides hope he'll be at top of his game. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
STAGE STAR disappointed on his final two starts last season but had been an impressive winner on his seasonal return in the Paddy Power Gold Cup. With that in mind, Paul Nicholls' gelding can be given another chance off what should be a workable mark. Ahoy Senor has a very good record at this venue, which includes a second in the Bowl when last seen in April. On that evidence, he could give the selection most to think about. The rest all have questions to answer, but Hitman is the pick of them.
STAGE STAR was an impressive winner of the Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham on his comeback run last season and this looks another good starting point for him. Minella Drama was a good second in this last year off a higher mark so may emerge as the biggest threat.
Stage Star is very tempting but preference is for MINELLA DRAMA who runs off a mark 6lb lower than when runner-up 12 months ago.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
NEVERADULLMOMENT has met defeat just once from four runs at this course and might defy a recent 12lb hike for winning over today's course-and-distance last month. Runner-up here last October, he has gained two recent course wins and while he now competes from a career-high rating, he's clearly progressive and is also ideally suited by this trip and soft ground. Galon De Vauzelle himself won well at Listowel last month and while he, too, can contend despite competing off a 10lb higher mark, he is more exposed than the progressive selection. Jumping Jet defeated Ask Anything to win the Ulster National last April but the pair now make their respective seasonal reappearances.
The thriving NEVERADULLMOMENT recorded his third course success in emphatic style over this trip 7 weeks ago and should make a bold bid for the hat-trick. Galon De Vauzelle also arrives at the top of his game so is feared most ahead of the returning Ask Anything.
Course specialist NEVERADULLMOMENT jumped well when justifying strong market support over C&D latest and a 12lb rise looks fair

200/1(-100%) | (5) Yourawizardharry 200/1, 100/1, well held in similar event at Uttoxeter on hurdles debut 3 weeks ago. Struggled when 100-1 for recent debut at Uttoxeter and can't be recommended here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
High Fibre was useful on the Flat and must be respected on his hurdling debut for a top yard. The market may reveal more in regards to stable confidence, but perhaps the safer play is to side with VAGUELY ROYAL on this occasion, purely because he has the benefit of already having a run over timber and is likely to have come on plenty for those course exertions. Rangatira Jack is more experienced than them both and his Exeter second in April was a good run.
A trappy maiden that could go to TUXEDO JUNCTION, who shaped better than the result first time up over hurdles after 13 months off at Chepstow. Vaguely Royal is turned out quickly after a promising start in this sphere here last week and can improve also. Rangatira Jack, High Fibre and Karaktere d'Enfer complete the shortlist.
Useful Flat racer VAGUELY ROYAL ran well for a long way on his hurdle debut and can make the necessary improvement today.

11/10(+78%) | (1) Fleur In The Park 11/10, Useful winner at 16f in bumpers. 7/1, fourth of 7 in bumper at Fairyhouse (16f, heavy). Off 6 months. Much respected on his hurdles debut. Kept good company in winners' bumpers last season, has the pedigree to make a good jumper. |

5th (2) (11/1 -175%) Omniscient |
11/1(-175%) | (2) Omniscient 11/1, Lightly-raced maiden over hurdles. Fairly useful winner at 12f on flat. Tenth of 12 in minor event at Listowel (14f, soft, 13/2) 30 days ago. Switches from Flat to hurdles. Cheekpieces on 1st time and not ruled out. Leading chance based on his first four hurdle runs, jumped badly at Downpatrick. |

200/1(-150%) | (5) Knock Flyer 200/1, Twice-raced maiden hurdler. Poor on Flat, including on sole run for E. J. O'Neill. Others much preferred. In rear in two hurdles runs in 2023; transformation needed on debut for Gordon Elliott. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Having proved underwhelming over hurdles at Downpatrick and on the level at Listowel last month, Omniscient has something to prove at present. Gordon Elliott's gelding may get back on track with first-time cheekpieces now applied, but MARCUS FURIUS rates a more compelling proposition. The five-year-old should have learned plenty from his second-placed finish on his hurdles bow at Clonmel earlier this month and he ticks plenty of the right boxes. Point-to-point runner-up Taponthego is worth a market check on his Rules debut for top connections.
MARCUS FURIUS holds much the best form on show so is taken to build on his Clonmel debut second and get off the mark. Hurdling newcomers Taponthego and Fleur In The Park could emerge as the main dangers to Paul Nolan's 5-y-o and can chase him home in that order.
Despite his lack of hurdling experience FLEUR IN THE PARK may be equal to this task. There is plenty of substance to his bumper form

11/5(-10%) | (6) Copperhead 11/5, Off 5 months before landing handicap chase at Chepstow (23.6f, good to soft) 16 days ago. Back up 5 lb but he's not taken lightly in his hat-trick bid. Snapped long losing run in May and followed up at Chepstow recently; strong claims. |

2nd (2) (7/1 -8%) Fortescue |
7/1(-8%) | (2) Fortescue 7/1, Temperamental sort who came in 16th of 20 in handicap chase (50/1) at Sandown (28.7f, good) 6 months ago. It's now 12 runs since his last win in 2022. Runner-up in two veterans' chase at Newbury last March and races off the same mark today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (11/1 -57%) Rapper |
11/1(-57%) | (1) Rapper 11/1, Three-time winner over fences but wasn't the most consistent last term and only 17th of 20 in handicap chase (40/1) at Sandown (28.7f, good) final run. Needs to hit the ground running on his seasonal return. Returns on a handy mark; not ruled out but his reappearance record is a concern. |

4th (7) (5/1 +64%) Five Star Getaway |
5/1(+64%) | (7) Five Star Getaway 5/1, Winless since 2021 and off for 19 months since a below-par sixth of 8 in handicap chase at Newbury (22.4f). Has his fitness to prove. On attractive mark and he's one to watch in the betting, but has a hefty absence to defy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (15/8 +53%) Torn And Frayed |
15/8(+53%) | (5) Torn And Frayed 15/8, Winless last season but he signed off with a solid fourth of 12 in handicap chase at Cheltenham (20.6f, good) 6 months ago. Yard among the winners so he's a player off a reduced mark. Reappears on an attractive mark and with his trainer enjoying an excellent autumn. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (40/1 -60%) Diol Ker |
40/1(-60%) | (4) Diol Ker 40/1, A useful chaser for Gordon Elliott but he was pulled up on his yard debut at Chepstow 16 days ago. Needs to take a big step forward. His mark continues to fall but for good reason; pulled up on recent stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (18/1 -200%) Cap Du Nord |
18/1(-200%) | (3) Cap Du Nord 18/1, Resumed winning ways at Perth in July and badly hampered 5 out when eleventh of 20 in handicap chase at Galway (22.5f, soft) 86 days ago. Not ruled out. Wins at Plumpton in March and at Perth in July and he's a possible player. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
Copperhead rounded off last season in good form and chases a hat-trick after returning with an emphatic victory in a similar veterans' series event at Chepstow 16 days ago. A 5lb higher mark looks fair and another bold showing is likely. However, FORTESCUE has been given a chance by the handicapper despite running well in defeat several times last term. Off 8lb below his last winning mark, Henry Daly's 10-year-old is an attractive proposition. The class-dropping Torn And Frayed can also figure.
TORN AND FRAYED hails from an in-form yard and resumes on an attractive mark so looks the way to go here. Joe Tizzard also has his string in great nick and his Copperhead rates the obvious threat in his hat-trick bid, with Cap du Nord appealing as the pick of the remainder for minor honours.
This could go to TORN AND FRAYED, who is on a reduced mark and represents the in-form Nigel Twiston Davies.

Has to be taken seriously. In fine form over timber last term; has won over fences; big player from lower chase mark. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
AODHAN MAY previously won a chase in 2023 and having progressed well over hurdles earlier this year, now reverts to chasing off a 35lb lower mark. Pulled up on her latest chase runs of 2023, she has improved since then and is suited by today's conditions. Similarly, Desert Heather is rated 40lb higher over hurdles but disappointed badly over fences in August. That was her first run for 263 days, though, and while she will appreciate today's softer ground, nonetheless has something to prove. West Clare has a race-fitness edge, is suited by conditions and while he makes his chase debut, has point-to-point experience so can be relied upon. Hunt Museum showed some improvement in May but lacks a recent run.
AODHAN MAY is potentially very well treated back over fences given her exploits over hurdles last season so she gets the vote over Hunt Museum and Likable Chancer.
A chance is taken on the fitness of AODHAN MAY who was a rapid improver over hurdles last term and returns on a lower chase mark

1st (3) (11/4 +50%) Numitor |
11/4(+50%) | (3) Numitor 11/4, Found plenty when resuming winning ways in veterans' company at Haydock (19.9f) in March. Struggled in stronger company next 2 starts but this rates more suitable back from 5 months off and his mark has eased. Won final of this series at Haydock in March but final two spring runs were disappointing. |

2nd (2) (2/1 -33%) Glynn |
2/1(-33%) | (2) Glynn 2/1, Lightly raced for his age and really got the hang of this game in recent months, supplementing pair of handicap victories in 4-runner Newton Abbot novice (21f) in September. Bold showing on the front end looks on the cards again returned to handicap company. Collected three small-field chase wins during the summer; evidently in good nick. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (7/2 +22%) Le Ligerien |
7/2(+22%) | (4) Le Ligerien 7/2, Added another small-field chase victory to his tally at Kempton (20.5f) last November. Largely ran with credit prior to a lesser run back at Kempton (18f) in April but returns with yard amongst the winners and another afforded a chance by the assessor. Had wind surgery. Out of form in the spring but resumes on a good mark and needs to be taken very seriously. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (7/1 -17%) Kauto The King |
7/1(-17%) | (6) Kauto The King 7/1, Ungenuine type but he scored at Newton Abbot in August and he kept the errors at bay when runner-up at Exeter (19.2f) 17 days ago. Looks to have more on his plate operating from out of the weights on this occasion but he's no forlorn hope. 3lb wrong today but ran well at Exeter recently and this C&D suits him well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (6/1 +40%) Presentandcounting |
6/1(+40%) | (5) Presentandcounting 6/1, Twice a winner in small field chase contests in 2023. Largely underwhelming since but he did hint at a revival in first-time cheekpieces when fourth of 6 in handicap chase at Ludlow (23.8f) 18 days ago. Now his task is to build on that effort. Good-ground specialist; not at his best this year but has slipped to a tempting mark. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
GLYNN has enjoyed a productive spell in recent months having landed a hat-trick of wins over fences, with the latest coming in novice company. Despite being 9lb higher than his penultimate success at Stratford, the 10-year-old could prove a tough nut to crack once again. Kauto The King chased home the selection at Newton Abbot in August and is expected to play a similar role, while Numitor is no back number based on his Haydock success in March.
GLYNN has really got his act together in the jumping department of late, bringing up the hat-trick in determined fashion in a Newton Abbot novice (21f) 37 days ago. He looks to hold sound claims back in a handicap. Returning pair Le Ligerien and Numitor may emerge as the chief dangers.
Preference is for LE LIGERIEN, who makes his seasonal debut from a very tempting mark and with conditions in his favour.

2nd (2) (7/1 -27%) Rue Taylor |
7/1(-27%) | (2) Rue Taylor 7/1, Emphatic debut winner in bumper at Hexham in May for Toby Bulgin. Player now going hurdling. Won readily on debut in a bumper at Hexham in May, could prove a useful hurdling recruit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (7/2 -56%) Paul Collins |
7/2(-56%) | (6) Paul Collins 7/2, €46,000 3-y-o. Pillar Coral gelding. Dam, little promise in bumpers/over hurdles, is a half-sister to fairly useful hurdler/smart chaser (stayed 21f) Mercian Prince. Runner-up both starts in points (latest Apr 13) so he's an interesting hurdling newcomer. Runner-up on both starts in points for champion handler Colin Bowe, bar set quite low here. |

4th (4) (9/4 +25%) Keep Kool Coko |
9/4(+25%) | (4) Keep Kool Coko 9/4, 9/1, encouraging debut second of 9 in novice hurdle at Cork (20.4f, good, 9/1) on hurdles bow 14 days ago. The form pick. Made a pleasing debut over hurdles at Cork despite showing a tendency to jump to the left. |

12/1(-9%) | (10) Thurman 12/1, Milan filly. Dam, very useful 2m-2¾m hurdle/chase winner, is a sister to useful hurdler/chaser (stayed 25f) Allysson Monterg. Considered newcomer. Dam Valyssa Monterg won three AQPS races and three races for Willie Mullins, in good hands. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
KEEP KOOL COKO has improved with every start to date and was only narrowly denied when second on his hurdling debut at Cork two weeks ago. With the benefit of that experience, he could be very hard to beat. Oh So Charming was well held last time but is a player on the pick of his form, while Paul Collins and Rue Taylor are others who make the shortlist.
RUE TAYLOR looked a good prospect when landing a Hexham bumper in May and can make a winning start in this sphere for her new yard. Fellow hurdling debutant Paul Collins also brings a fair amount of potential and could emerge as the main threat with Keep Kool Coko much the pick of those with experience and well in the mix too.
With the help of useful hurdling experience, OH SO CHARMING may have the measure off Gordon Elliott's runner Paul Collins

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (13/2 +0%) Emiyn |
13/2(+0%) | (1) Emiyn 13/2, Useful stayer at his best on the Flat. His last 2 runs in that sphere have been disappointing but he definitely has the ability to play a part if taking to this new discipline. Went close in the Chester Cup in May and entitled to considerable respect on hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (25/1 -178%) Chief Sunday |
25/1(-178%) | (4) Chief Sunday 25/1, Down the field in 2 Warwick bumpers in the spring. Offered more when fourth of 6 in 2m Perth novice hurdle on last month's reappearance but he'll need to improve on that form to trouble a couple of these rivals. Fair fourth of six on hurdle debut at Perth but needs another step forward today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (14/1 -87%) Rockchoeur |
14/1(-87%) | (6) Rockchoeur 14/1, Placed in bumpers (for Nigel Twiston-Davies) and maiden/novice hurdles but his form is little better than modest. Fair 3rd at Sedgefield on second hurdle start but probably has to build on that form today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (50/1 +24%) Small Town Hero |
50/1(+24%) | (7) Small Town Hero 50/1, Point winner who failed to figure in a Grade 2 bumper here in the spring. Hinted at ability when a well-held fifth on his Ffos Las hurdle debut a fortnight ago but he's probably more one for the longer term. Point winner; still early days but well beaten on both rules starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (100/1 -100%) Lennie Godber |
100/1(-100%) | (5) Lennie Godber 100/1, No show in 2 bumpers for Nigel Twiston-Davies in March and big outsider now hurdling for new stable after 7 months off. Well beaten in both bumpers; probably best watched now tackling hurdles for a new yard. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
TAKT DE TOUQUES has impressed by winning three bumpers since racing under Rules and, having also won a point-to-point before joining his current yard, this progressive five-year-old is fancied to rise to the challenge presented by his hurdling debut. Sunray Shadow has the benefit of experience in this discipline and is another taken seriously. Chief Sunday runs for an in-form yard and also warrants consideration.
TAKT DE TOUQUES created a good impression when winning 3 bumpers earlier in the year and is narrowly preferred to Dan Skelton's Sunray Shadow. Emiyn could also have a part to play if translating anything like his Flat ability to hurdles.
Bumper winner SUNRAY SHADOW finished fast for a close third over 2m at Warwick on his hurdle debut and earns the vote now up in trip.

1st (4) (11/10 +12%) My Great Mate |
11/10(+12%) | (4) My Great Mate 11/10, Completed a simple task in 7-runner maiden hurdle at Sligo (20.6f, soft, 1/11) in August. Creditable second of 5 in novice hurdle at Listowel (20f, soft, 4/6) 29 days ago, conceding first run to stablemate. Good chance. Major player on recent soft-ground form but still vulnerable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (6/1 -71%) Prends Garde A Toi |
6/1(-71%) | (5) Prends Garde A Toi 6/1, Won 5-runner novice hurdle at Downpatrick (21.8f, good to soft, 2/5) on return 16 days ago. Can improve. Downpatrick winner a work in progress but no surprise if he improved enough to feature. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (10/3 +39%) Fenway Park |
10/3(+39%) | (2) Fenway Park 10/3, 4/7, career best when winning 16-runner novice hurdle at Punchestown (20f, good to soft) 159 days ago. Could have more to come. Absent since Punchestown maiden win in May; more needed but possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (6/1 +33%) Heroes Rise |
6/1(+33%) | (6) Heroes Rise 6/1, Won at Listowel in June. 16/1, respectable sixth of 12 in novice hurdle at this C&D (good to soft) 87 days ago. Place claims. Listowel maiden winner never counted in C&D novice at the festival; bit to prove now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (15/2 +25%) Itsalladream |
15/2(+25%) | (3) Itsalladream 15/2, Upped his game when winning 20-runner novice hurdle here (16.7f, good to soft) last month, jumping well. Fourth of 5 in novice hurdle at Listowel (16f, soft, 16/1) 32 days ago. Up in trip. Outpaced at a crucial stage at Listowel latest; step up in trip here could suit. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
MY GREAT MATE has been running consistently well on similar ground and over similar distances recently. A dual bumper winner, including once at last year's festival at this course, he won his maiden hurdle by 31 lengths at Sligo recently and while beaten by a stablemate at Listowel, that rival is himself capable. There was nothing exciting about Prends Garde A Toi's recent Downpatrick win but that was his first run since Christmas and he should improve, having also shown nice bumper form last term. Fenway Park finished a useful fourth at the Punchestown Festival in May before scoring there later that month. He should compete, although isn't helped by lacking a recent run.
There is more to come from MY GREAT MATE, who found landing the odds beyond him at Listowel after his stablemate had enjoyed an easy lead, but remains with potential and can resume winning ways. Punchestown scorer Fenway Park and Heroes Rise are dangers.
My Great Mate sets the standard but looks vulnerable and is taken on here by the less exposed PRENDS GARDE A TOI

1st (1) (11/1 +31%) Remastered |
11/1(+31%) | (1) Remastered 11/1, Smart handicapper on his day but has been well below his best for a while now so makes limited appeal. Very useful staying handicapper in his prime but was pulled up in his last four chases. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (25/1 -79%) Deise Aba |
25/1(-79%) | (5) Deise Aba 25/1, Useful but unpredictable chaser for Philip Hobbs. Successful in 4 of 6 starts in points, including latest (Apr 1). Sold from Francesca Poste £10,000 later in May and likely to find this too competitive. Won hunter chase for different stable last spring but is no longer the force of old. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (7/4 +65%) Credo |
7/4(+65%) | (6) Credo 7/4, Has a decent strike rate and was a good winner of this race on her comeback last season. Big run expected. Won this race readily a year ago and has slipped back down to a good mark; big player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (7/1 -100%) No Hubs No Hoobs |
7/1(-100%) | (7) No Hubs No Hoobs 7/1, Form took off fitted with blinkers last 3 starts last season, winning twice here before completing hat-trick at Exeter final start. Can handle faster ground and remains of interest. Ended last term with three heavy-ground wins in blinkers; ground is a worry today, though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (14/1 +30%) Lieutenant Rocco |
14/1(+30%) | (8) Lieutenant Rocco 14/1, Unpredictable sort who produced only one decent effort last season. Starts the new campaign with questions to answer for new yard. Pulled up in Aintree Foxhunters' in April but makes stable debut from a workable mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (15/2 -150%) Quick Draw |
15/2(-150%) | (2) Quick Draw 15/2, Has an all-or-nothing profile but made it 4 wins in this sphere for Nicky Henderson after 3 months off when making all here (25.1f, soft) in February. Ran poorly at Kempton 3 months later but no surprise to see him bounce back (won on return last season). Off since poor run in May but won when fresh last October and also struck here in February. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (5/2 +64%) My Silver Lining |
5/2(+64%) | (4) My Silver Lining 5/2, Relished increased test of stamina when bagging fourth chase win in Classic Chase at Warwick in January. Excellent placed efforts in Grand National Trial at Haydock/Midlands National at Uttoxeter next 2 starts and easy to forgive final run (Scottish National). Won on her return here last season. Won on good ground last October but subsequent improvement came in slow-ground marathons. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (14/1 -40%) Found On |
14/1(-40%) | (3) Found On 14/1, Has been a good servant but ended last season with 2 poor efforts after 4 months off. Bit to prove now. Ended last season in poor form but won in good style when fresh last autumn. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
QUICK DRAW won off a break at Ludlow last October before doing similar when bouncing back from a disappointing effort at Cheltenham later that month to win here on his return in February. Conditions appear to be ideal for the son of Getaway and this could be the time to catch him. My Silver Lining improved a fair amount in staying chases last season and her Classic Chase success was complimented by placed efforts in the Grand National Trial at Haydock and the Midlands National. The eight-year-old's general consistency gives her obvious claims, while Found On is another who boasts a fine record when fresh.
CREDO held her form well after a good winner of this race on her comeback run last season and another big run looks on the cards. No Hubs No Hoobs has been a revelation since fitted with blinkers so must be respected, while My Silver Lining had an excellent campaign last season, including when making a winning reappearance here.
This looks good for CREDO (nap), who won this race when fresh a year ago and defends her crown from a good mark.

1st (1) (8/1 -7%) Ms Agartha Yeats |
8/1(-7%) | (1) Ms Agartha Yeats 8/1, Lightly-raced winner over hurdles. Course winner. 7/1, respectable eighth of 14 in handicap hurdle at Naas (22.7f, heavy). Off 8 months. First run for yard after leaving Hugh P. Finegan and not discounted. Course maiden winner, has joined Finbarr Hand who also runs the long-absent We Got This. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (40/1 +0%) Laravie |
40/1(+0%) | (5) Laravie 40/1, Thrice-raced maiden under NH rules. Sixth of 12 in novice hurdle (16/1) at Gowran (20.2f, good) on hurdles bow 22 days ago. Should have more to offer. Runner-up in a C&D bumper in May, remote sixth on hurdling debut at Gowran. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (14/1 -56%) Saddle Her Up |
14/1(-56%) | (4) Saddle Her Up 14/1, Fair hurdler. Hooded on first run since leaving Barry Fitzgerald when seventh of 9 in handicap hurdle at Punchestown (16.3f, good) 11 days ago. Back up in trip with more required. Fairyhouse maiden hurdle for Barry Fitzgerald in January, struggled after, new stable. |

4th (2) (22/1 -38%) We Got This |
22/1(-38%) | (2) We Got This 22/1, Winner of hurdle at Navan in March 2023 before a very good third of 8 in handicap hurdle at Sligo (16.9f, good, 14/1). Off 15 months though so has her fitness to prove. Won at 100-1 at Navan on debut, third in a handicap on only other start, may need this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (1/10 +60%) Aurora Vega |
1/10(+60%) | (3) Aurora Vega 1/10, Very useful bumper winner who easily landed the odds in 17-runner novice hurdle at Cork (17f, good to soft) 83 days ago. Looks hard to beat with plenty more to come. Three bumper wins, only a shade off top of the class, can follow up easy maiden hurdle win. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
AURORA VEGA did not have much to beat when scoring on her hurdling debut at Cork in August, but she did it very easily and could prove to be a class above the opposition once again here. Saddle Her Up has struggled on her most recent starts but would be a player if bouncing back to the form that saw her win at Fairyhouse in January, while We Got This should not be underestimated on her return.
AURORA VEGA got off the mark with the minimum of fuss on her hurdling bow at Cork and is impossible to oppose with the prospect of a lot better to come. Course scorer Ms Agartha Yeats can chase home Willie Mullins' very useful bumper winner ahead of Laravie and Saddle Her Up.
This looks straightforward for AURORA VEGA who stands out on her bumper form. She won a maiden at Cork without any fuss

8/1(-191%) | (2) Kamsinas 8/1, A three-time winner last term, going in over 21f at Kempton in March. Very much one to consider on his return for his in-form handler. Three novice wins last term and trainer has won the last two runnings; entitled to respect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (9/4 +55%) Long Draw |
9/4(+55%) | (9) Long Draw 9/4, £60,000 Irish point recruit very much on the up since switched to handicaps, winning at Ffos Las and an excellent clear second at Warwick (21f) last time. Big shout. Won at Ffos Las in May and two creditable seconds this autumn; major player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (5/2 +69%) Bowenspark |
5/2(+69%) | (5) Bowenspark 5/2, Unreliable sort who wasn't seen out after being pulled up in Prestige Novices' Hurdle at Haydock (24.3f, heavy) 8 months ago. Has won when fresh though so can't be discounted on his handicap hurdle debut. Failed to kick on after hurdle debut win last November but retains potential; h'cap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (12/1 -20%) Got Grey |
12/1(-20%) | (8) Got Grey 12/1, A big improver for his new yard, winning 2m handicaps at Stratford and Bangor. Possibly found run coming too quickly when sixth of 7 in handicap hurdle at Hexham (16.2f, good) 23 days ago. Well worth another chance. Made excellent start for new yard; lesser run at Hexham last time but he's not written off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (22/1 -159%) Ballygeary |
22/1(-159%) | (3) Ballygeary 22/1, Resumed winning ways at Market Rasen but only sixth of 8 in handicap hurdle at Bangor (19.6f, good) later in June. Needs to bounce back after a break. On the scoresheet at Market Rasen in June but below par later that month and absent since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (7/1 +0%) Lavida Adiva |
7/1(+0%) | (7) Lavida Adiva 7/1, Winning pointer who landed 2m Catterick novice in December. Kept his form well after so he's one to consider on his return with few miles still on the clock. Last season's novice campaign culminated in her second at Cheltenham; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (12/1 -20%) Cruz Control |
12/1(-20%) | (1) Cruz Control 12/1, Ended last term with 3m chase win here and resumed with an encouraging fourth of 12 in handicap chase at Punchestown (24.5f, soft) 176 days ago, doing too much too soon. Much respected back in this sphere. Engaged Cheltenham 2.55 Saturday. Highly progressive over fences last season; lower mark over hurdles; non-runner yesterday. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (33/1 -106%) Hurricane Ali |
33/1(-106%) | (4) Hurricane Ali 33/1, Course winner who recorded a respectable third of 8 in handicap hurdle at Cartmel (25.4f, soft) 64 days ago. Down in trip. It's now 15 runs since his last win in 2022 though. Close 3rd at Cartmel in July; back on better ground today; has gone well on both runs here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (12/1 +0%) Arqoob |
12/1(+0%) | (6) Arqoob 12/1, A fairly useful 2m winner but cheekpieces on for 1st time when pulled up in handicap hurdle at Sandown (19.8f, good) in April. Needs to hit the ground running on his reappearance. Had a pretty good campaign last season and returns on a competitive mark; not ruled out. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
Having drawn 27 lengths clear of the third when runner-up at Warwick earlier this month, compensation could be heading in LONG DRAW's direction. A 3lb rise in the ratings looks more than fair for the five-year-old and his race fitness could prove crucial. Lavida Adiva capped off last season's novice campaign with a good second at Cheltenham and she warrants respect on her return to action. Ruth Jefferson's mare is feared most, ahead of Kamsinas.
Olly Murphy's LONG DRAW will go on improving and can land the spoils. The reappearing Kamsinas scored three times last season and rates the main danger with his yard going well, while Lavida Adiva and Got Grey both warrant plenty of respect too in this useful handicap.
The unexposed mare LAVIDA ADIVA was a good second at Cheltenham in April when last seen and is taken to go one better on her return.

Significantly up in trip. Difficult to oppose. Promising debut in better-class Leopardstown maiden; longer trip should suit. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
PATTER MERCHANT may be able to make a winning start over timber here. The Walk In The Park gelding was a touch disappointing when last seen at Fairyhouse in April but had won a Leopardstown bumper previously and the form of that race has worked out well, as the runner-up Sounds Victorius was subsequently fourth in the Cheltenham bumper. I Am Lorenzo was an eye-catcher on his debut, when staying on to finish sixth in a Leopardstown maiden hurdle. That was last Christmas and he makes his first start since. Beau Walking has been placed fives times over hurdles and should pick up prize money again.
I AM LORENZO made a promising start at Leopardstown at Christmas and although he hasn't been seen since he's open to improvement and could be hard to beat if doing so. Patter Merchant is a useful recruit to hurdling for his top connections and demands respect.
Despite a long absence I AM LORENZO (nap) appeals on the back of a strong debut effort in a better-class Leopardstown maiden last year

Visored for new handler with more required. Now 7lb lower than when second on chase debut in June; could be dangerous on stable debut. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (28/1 -27%) Stopherandgo |
28/1(-27%) | (9) Stopherandgo 28/1, A modest winner at 15f over hurdles but she came in eighth of 12 in handicap chase at Taunton (21.7f, good) on her debut over fences. Off 6 months with more needed. Out of form last season, most recently when well beaten on chasing debut in April. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
NADIM showed some promise when third over the extended 2m3f at Stratford on his chasing bow earlier in the month and he can improve for that experience off a 1lb lower mark. His race-fitness and experience over fences earns him the vote ahead of Poker Master and Celtic Fortune, although they both showed enough over hurdles to be of interest now switched to larger obstacles. Paddy In The Caddy failed back up his handicap hurdle success at Huntington in March when last seen at Exeter in April, but he has had a wind operation ahead of this seasonal/chase debut and would be dangerous to dismiss.
This is wide open so it is worth siding with AMERICAN LAND to built on a considerate reappearance third here and can make a winning start over fences for the in-form Joe Tizzard team. Celtic Fortune (second choice) and Eyed both warrant plenty of respect along with Nadim and Paddy In the Caddy.
The pick is CAMINO ROCIO, who has gone the wrong way since his pleasing chase debut but starts off for his new stable on a good mark.

|PU| (7) (20/1 +39%) Cullagh Pride |
20/1(+39%) | (7) Cullagh Pride 20/1, Twelfth of 16 in handicap hurdle (20/1) at Listowel (18f, soft) 29 days ago. Others more persuasive. Third in three maidens early last season, no impact on handicap debut at Listowel. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
JACENRY was closing on the leaders when he took a tumble two out in a deeper race over fences at Galway 19 days ago and has been found a decent opportunity to atone for that mishap now back over timber. Inthenickoftime won over 2m1f here in August and, having also ran with credit when third at Sligo most recently, he rates a serious player given he is unexposed at the trip. Duke Silver and Onefortheditch complete the shortlist.
There should be more to come from August's 2m course scorer INTHENICKOFTIME now back hurdling so he gets the vote for Enda Bolger. Duke Silver is feared most on the back of his improved Killarney second 3 weeks ago. Paul Nolan's Western Model also makes the shortlist.
Joseph O'Brien's DUKE SILVER showed considerable improvement when second to an in-form rival at Killarney and can go one better.

Harry Cobden booked for a stable with a healthy bumper strike-rate. Would very much enter the reckoning if the betting vibes are strong. Trainer 2-4 in bumpers this season and Harry Cobden is booked on debut; check the betting. |

Same ownership as Claim du Brizais and the betting should guide. Went close in a point in March and the winner has won a bumper since; sold for £45,000. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (20/1 +0%) Springtime Legend |
20/1(+0%) | (11) Springtime Legend 20/1, 8/1, fourth of 11 in bumper at Newton Abbot (17f, good to firm) on debut in May. Will need to step up on that form but her stable has been going well. Open to improvement on second start & yard in top form but others may have more potential. |

6th (8) (16/1 -100%) Lets Mingle |
16/1(-100%) | (8) Lets Mingle 16/1, Picked up for £85,000 after winning an Irish point in April. It'll be interesting to see what the market makes of her. Point winner who changed hands for £85,000; in good hands and she's respected. |

200/1(-203%) | (12) Vienna Pearl 200/1, £27,000 Mahler filly. The stable is 0-22 in bumpers in the last 5 seasons so a watching brief is advised. £27,000 3yo; makes debut in what may be a warm race; might be best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (16/1 -60%) Lowlands |
16/1(-60%) | (3) Lowlands 16/1, Has shown a fair level of ability in bumpers at Uttoxeter and Sedgefield but more will be needed here. Beaten about only 4l on her two starts but needs to take a step forward today. |

Makes some appeal on breeding but the stable is only 1-38 in bumpers in the last 5 seasons. Half-sister to highly talented dual-purpose performer Cockney Sparrow; yard in fine form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (1) (22/1 -57%) Bennys Jenny |
22/1(-57%) | (1) Bennys Jenny 22/1, Easy point winner in Ireland from successful jumps family. £37,000 buy for new connections and worth a second look in the betting. Point win in April on fifth run; makes rules debut with yard in fine form; not discounted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (4) (20/1 +50%) Myfavouritesister |
20/1(+50%) | (4) Myfavouritesister 20/1, From the family of yard's star jumper The Real Whacker but didn't achieve enough in 2 bumpers in the spring to fancy her chances here. Better effort when fifth at Huntingdon on second start but further improvement is needed. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
There are several interesting point-to-pointers making their Rules debut and a tentative vote goes to the Dan Skelton-trained CLAIM DU BRIZAIS. The 130,000-pound purchase finished second on her sole start between the flags in Ireland and she boasts the speed in her pedigree to make a mark in bumpers. Siog Geal and Lets Mingle are other interesting recruits from that sphere, while Kapability also requires a market check with Harry Cobden aboard.
CLAIM DU BRIZAIS had a subsequent hurdle winner well behind her in third when runner-up in an Irish point in February and is taken to make a winning start for Dan Skelton. Fellow Irish point recruit Siog Geal has also joined a leading yard with a good bumper record and is second choice ahead of Anthony Honeyball's Kapability before any betting clues are known.
Top of the list is point winner SIOG GEAL, whose trainer Fergal O'Brien does very well in mares' bumpers.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
WEE CHARLIE has gone up 14lb in the ratings for his latest success but may be able to land his hat-trick after two easy wins at the track. The Court Cave gelding won as he liked here 19 days ago, scoring by seven lengths, and could have another one in him before the handicapper fully gets to grips. Timourid has a slipped a few pounds since he was last seen over hurdles and appears to be on a competitive mark. He could be a danger, while Wajaaha has been knocking on the door and is another for the shortlist.
WAJAAHA is in a fine streak of form in handicap hurdles and can end his losing run. Dont Go Yet and Vischio are a couple of the dangers, with Wee Charlie having a 14 lb rise to overcome in his bid for a Galway hat-trick.
It may be worth giving another chance to KOORI STAR who lost his unbeaten record last time but he's far less exposed than the rest

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
With no form to go on, the betting market could be the best guide to this contest but a bold bid will be expected from Katana. A half-brother to a hurdle and chase winner in Europe, his powerful connections laid out 45,000 euro to secure him as a three-year-old, but narrow preference is for 76,000-pound purchase TAKEONEDAYATATIME. The Paul Nicholls-trained filly is out of a bumper-winning dam and the yard are beginning to find some form now. Pollyanna's Dream fetched 52,000 euro last year and must be respected for a stable firing in the winners of late.
TAKEONEDAYATATIME is very much bred for this job and is taken to make a winning start for Paul Nicholls. Katana and Just A Heartbeat are others who look the part on paper in a finale where the betting will be informative.
Their top yards would normally be good places to turn in races such as this, so Takeonedayatatime and KATANA head the list.

WORKING AWAY won her solitary start on the point-to-point scene and is very interesting on her Rules debut, given her powerful owners went to 330,000 pounds to secure her services at Cheltenham's November 2022 auction. This looks a good starting point for the daughter of Workforce, who is a half-sister to four winners over a variety of trips. The betting should be informative to the chances of Glens Lullaby, Dancing Dame and Nothing Hectic, who all have experience in this sphere.
Expensive point recruit WORKING AWAY is taken to make up for lost time, with confidence in her chance increased should the betting vibes be strong. Glens Lullaby was placed in similar races last autumn and may give Gordon Elliott's charge most to do ahead of Nothing Hectic.
MISS PENNY COPPER is closely related to a bumper winner and the fact she was entered in a Listed bumper suggests she is well-regarded.

1st (7) (20/1 -25%) Rock On By |
20/1(-25%) | (7) Rock On By 20/1, €60,000 sister to fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser Fancy Foundations (2½m-21f winner), and half-sister to bumper winner/fair hurdler Puffin Bay (winner around 2m, by Blue Bresil). Every chance when fell last sole outing in points (Mar 10). Points' promise in March; will want a trip in time so may just need this experience. |

2nd (2) (5/6 +49%) Al Arrivee |
5/6(+49%) | (2) Al Arrivee 5/6, Tunis filly. Half-sister to 4 winners, including dual Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Al Boum Photo. Of obvious interest and confidence behind her in the betting would look significant. Half-sister to Al Boum Photo; newcomer of obvious appeal from top yard. |

3rd (9) (6/1 +57%) Twentyfourcarrot |
6/1(+57%) | (9) Twentyfourcarrot 6/1, Twice-raced maiden. 13/2, sixth of 17 in bumper at Cork (16.3f, good) 169 days ago. Needs to get back to the form she showed on debut. Promise in the Spring makes her a player if forward enough after summer break. |

4th (8) (3/1 +14%) Tangara Bay |
3/1(+14%) | (8) Tangara Bay 3/1, Promising sort. Second of 8 in bumper (4/1) at Ballinrobe (16.4f, soft) on NH debut 62 days ago, no match for winner. Obvious claims with improvement to come. Ballinrobe debut second has ground to suit here and likely major player. |

5th (5) (25/1 +24%) Kilbarry Ace |
25/1(+24%) | (5) Kilbarry Ace 25/1, Well-beaten eighth of 13 to Aruntothequeen in listed bumper at Gowran (16f, good to soft, 125/1) 23 days ago. Naas promise back in April; too keen when stiff task on recent Gowran return. |

6th (6) (28/1 -27%) Little Boo |
28/1(-27%) | (6) Little Boo 28/1, Lucky Joe filly. Dam unraced. Yard have a likely stronger contender here in Graigstar so best watched on debut. |

7th (4) (10/1 -54%) Kabylia |
10/1(-54%) | (4) Kabylia 10/1, €165,000 half-sister to fair hurdler/fairly useful chaser Jetronic (17f-21f winner, by Reliable Man) and French 17f-18f hurdle winner Ineffable (by Manduro). Runner-up sole outing in points (Apr 28). Cost a bit earlier this year and she's one to note. Points' second made 165,000euros; market check. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
AL ARRIVEE is a fascinating newcomer for Willie Mullins. The filly is a half-sister to the yard's dual Gold Cup winner Al Boum Photo. She is by Tunis, a French-based, Polish-bred stallion whose progeny have been in demand recently at the sales. The form horse is Tangara Bay, who was a promising second on her debut at Ballinrobe in August. Kabylia is another to note as she was runner-up on her sole outing in a point-to-point at Loughanmore in April and fetched 165,000 euro following that run.
TANGARA BAY offered plenty to work on first time up at Ballinrobe in the summer and can open her account with improvement on the way. Choicely-bred newcomers Al Arrivee, a half-sister to Al Boum Photo, and Kabylia, are of firm interest.
Al Boum Photo's sister Al Arrivee is interesting but preference is for Ballinrobe second TANGARA BAY, who has ground to suit
Ths is the racecard key.
