1st (3) ( ) Obligatory |
() | (3) Obligatory , Modest gelding. 40/1, eighth of 9 in handicap at Ripon (6f, good to soft) 21 days ago. Inconsistent 11-race maiden and was out the back in a Class 6 handicap last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) ( ) Glowchester |
() | (6) Glowchester , Steadily progressive, good second of 7 in novice (13/2) at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 19 days ago. Can go one better. Runner-up over C&D (soft) and on Tapeta (5f) last twice; big player back up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) ( ) Safanah |
() | (4) Safanah , £16,500 yearling, €28,000 2-y-o, Zoustar filly. Dam, 2-y-o 5f winner, half-sister to smart 5.5f/6f winner Roulston Scar. Last of 7 in novice (25/1) at Wolverhampton (5.1f) on debut 19 days ago. Made low-key start at Wolverhampton last month and needs a transformation upped in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) ( ) Blue Jay Way |
() | (2) Blue Jay Way , Poor gelding. 80/1, last of 6 in novice at Newcastle (7.1f) 18 days ago. Poor maiden who's yet to finish placed after 13 starts; can only be watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) ( ) Cash In |
() | (1) Cash In , Easily best effort when runner-up at Ripon but well below par next 2 starts. Needs to bounce back. Sets standard on best form but he's struggled on soft ground last twice; risks attached. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) ( ) Angel Of Mather's |
() | (5) Angel Of Mather's , Harry Angel filly. Dam unraced. Yard not renowned for winning with newcomers. Yard 1-23 in novice events this season and she could be one for further down the line. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Runner-up on each of her last two starts, including over C&D two starts ago, GLOWCHESTER narrowly sets the standard on form and this looks like an ideal opportunity to break the maiden at the fifth time of asking. Cash In hasn't shown much since finishing second at Ripon in June, but he is the top-rated in the field and must enter calculations, along with Safanah.
An excellent opportunity for the progressive GLOWCHESTER to open her account. Cash In is capable of making a race of it if bouncing back to form.
Preference is for GLOWCHESTER, who has been generally progressive so far and was only narrowly denied over C&D on her penultimate run.

---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1st (5) ( ) Kyprios |
() | (5) Kyprios , High-class stayer who looked back to his very best when regaining the Ascot Gold Cup/Goodwood Cup in the summer. Has added to his tally with wins in the Irish St Leger and Prix du Cadran at Longchamp and is clearly the one to beat. Looks 2024 champion stayer; not far ahead of Trawlerman; French win was just two weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) ( ) Sweet William |
() | (6) Sweet William , Made into a smart stayer in 2023 and has improved again this term. Landed Henry II Stakes at Sandown in May and has posted very good placed efforts behind Kyprios in Ascot Gold Cup and Goodwood Cup prior to resuming winning ways in Doncaster Cup. Has each-way claims. Won the Doncaster Cup in good style on latest start, following two places behind Kyprios. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) ( ) Trawlerman |
() | (7) Trawlerman , Ebor winner in 2022 and improved again last season, winning all 3 starts in this country, notably when edging out Kyprios (ridden inefficiently) in this event 12 months ago. Gave his all when runner-up to that rival in Gold Cup at Royal Ascot in June and looks sure to make another bold bid. There's twice not been much between him and Kyprios; unraced on worse than good to soft. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) ( ) Caius Chorister |
() | (8) Caius Chorister , Took her form to a new level when just failing under a penalty in Sagaro at Ascot/Henry II Stakes at Sandown on first 2 starts this season. However, was too keen in the Ascot Gold Cup and it was a similar story in the Prix de Royallieu at Longchamp (13.9f) 2 weeks ago. Passed over at this level. She's not lived up to her first two performances this season, usually racing too freely. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) ( ) Al Nayyir |
() | (1) Al Nayyir , Developed into a smart stayer trained in France and made an excellent start for new yard when second in the Lonsdale Cup at York, closing all the way to the line. Easily went one better in 5-runner listed event at Newmarket and comes here at the top of his game. Last two starts have made him an exciting recruit to the British staying scene. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) ( ) Burdett Road |
() | (4) Burdett Road , Developed into a useful hurdler for this yard last winter and took a step forward when making all in 5-runner listed contest at Newmarket (12f) 22 days ago, kept up to work. This is a whole different ball game, however, and will likely come up short. Front-running in small field produced runaway win in Listed race at Newmarket (1m4f, soft). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) ( ) The Euphrates |
() | (9) The Euphrates , Squashed suspicions he might've been flattered by his fourth in the Irish St Leger when winning 30-runner Irish Cesarewitch (Handicap) in first-time blinkers at the Curragh (16.8f) 20 days ago, in command final 1f and closed down only late. That form is working out and he's an interesting runner. May well try to make the running and, given recent form, much better than a mere pacemaker. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) ( ) Alsakib |
() | (2) Alsakib , Developed into a smart performer in 2023, winning 4 times, including a couple of valuable handicaps, and best effort this term when winning Group 3 at York (13.8f) in July. However, that wasn't a strong race for the grade and he was found out in better company at York. Got on top late on in 1m6f Group 3 at York but disappointed in 2m Group 2 there last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) ( ) Belloccio |
() | (3) Belloccio , Developed into a smart performer for David Menuisier, ending 2022 campaign with listed success at Kempton (12f). Winless in 4 starts last term but returned for top NH yard with an impressive hurdles success at Punchestown prior to winning Copper Horse Handicap at Royal Ascot. This is much tougher. Easily won maiden hurdle in May; added 1m6f handicap at Royal Ascot but this demands more. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
One of the great stayers, Kyprios hasn't looked back since being defeated by TRAWLERMAN in this 12 months ago. Now an eight-time Group 1 winner following his second success in the Prix du Cadran a fortnight ago, the top-class son of Galileo attempts to round off a hitherto perfect season in style. It's been a long campaign, though, and Trawlerman could exploit any chinks in his armour. The Gosdens' six-year-old has been kept fresh since chasing home Aidan O'Brien's star in the Gold Cup here in June, but he has often come alive at this time of year and it would come as no surprise to see him mount a bold title defence. Al Nayyir impressed in Listed company at Newmarket recently and is no forlorn hope, while Doncaster Cup hero Sweet William looks destined for a minor role.
KYPRIOS has looked back to his very best this season and is taken to gain his revenge on Trawlerman for the result in this race 12 months ago having endured a far smoother campaign this time around. Trawlerman looks sure to make another bold bid nonetheless, while Al Nayyir is plainly better than ever for his latest change of yard and can fill the places.
Kyprios is a magnificent champion but Trawlerman has twice gone head-to-head with him and AL NAYYIR might upstage them both.

9/1(+36%) | (10) Normandy Vista 9/1, Fifth of 6 in handicap (12/1) at Ayr (15f, good) 18 days ago. Looks competitive on form if bouncing back. 3yo maiden; has shown best handicap form at this track; interesting back here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (5/1 +29%) Dark Jedi |
5/1(+29%) | (2) Dark Jedi 5/1, Bit below form fifth of 9 in handicap at Redcar (14f, good to soft, 11/1) 14 days ago, left poorly placed. Scored off 4lb higher on last attempt at this level. |

80/1(-142%) | (3) King Me 80/1, First run since leaving Charlie Johnston when sixth of 7 in handicap at Southwell (11.1f, 33/1) 23 days ago. Up in trip. Regressive maiden; attempts a new trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (9) (12/1 -71%) Bamboo Bay |
12/1(-71%) | (9) Bamboo Bay 12/1, Latest win at Redcar in September. Found run of good form coming to a halt when sixth of 7 in handicap (85/40) at Musselburgh (14f, good) 17 days ago. Won at Redcar on penultimate start; disappointing latest. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
An encouraging second when having his first go at this distance last time out at Redcar, MORANDI SECOND is expected to build on that and he may be able to strike for shrewd connections. Molinari bounced back to form with a runner-up effort at Pontefract and he is a key player, along with Molten Sea, who has strong claims on her success at Musselburgh two starts ago.
MOLINARI is a long time without a win but has been given a chance by the handicapper and stepped up on his recent run back down in grade when second at Pontefract last month. He gets the vote over Molten Sea and Morandi Second.
The suggestion is NORMANDY VISTA, who looks interesting off bottom weight returned to Catterick. Molten Sea is feared most.

First run since leaving Emmanuel Clayeux when second of 17 in novice hurdle (5/2) at Listowel (16f, soft) on IRE NH debut 21 days ago. Stable in good form. Likely to improve. Eyecatching hurdling debut for this yard at Listowel, some of these behind; shortlisted. |

1st (12) (5/6 +63%) Mr Percy |
5/6(+63%) | (12) Mr Percy 5/6, Fairly useful winner at 14f on flat. 2/5, unseated rider in novice hurdle at Gowran (16f, good to soft) on NH debut 15 days ago. Yard in good form. Unseated rider when well-fancied on hurdling debut; top yard and well worth another chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (13) (11/2 +31%) Rapparee Champ |
11/2(+31%) | (13) Rapparee Champ 11/2, Fairly useful Flat winner. Thrice-raced maiden over hurdles. 12/1, third of 18 in novice hurdle at Gowran (16f, good to soft) 15 days ago. Considered. Promise in 3 starts for this shrewd yard and he's worth monitoring closely in the market. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (17) (12/1 -200%) Korea |
12/1(-200%) | (17) Korea 12/1, French Flat winner. 11/8, first run since leaving N. Clement when eighth of 17 in maiden hurdle at Listowel (16f, soft) on NH debut 21 days ago. Has the potential for significant improvement. Drifted from 4-9 out to 11-8 on Irish/hurdling debut but proved to be very disappointing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (25/1 +24%) Grey Fable |
25/1(+24%) | (6) Grey Fable 25/1, Promising sort. Fair winner at 12f on flat. |PU| (3) (28/1 +44%) Come On The Lads |
28/1(+44%) | (3) Come On The Lads 28/1, Fairly useful Flat winner. 22/1, unseated first on recent Gowran hurdle debut. Unseated rider on hurdling debut; in good hands but best form is on very testing ground. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
MR PERCY slammed a 150-rated hurdler by seven lengths in a 1m6f maiden at Gowran Park last month and was a warm order for his hurdling debut at the same venue. In front at a steady pace, he put the brakes on at the first and unseated his rider after ducking left. Joseph O'Brien's charge has to be afforded another chance given his level of ability. Placed in a French bumper, Kazakh D'arthel had a couple of these behind when second on his Irish debut at Listowel, although Korea, who made a bad mistake two out, is likely to fare better on her second start for Willie Mullins. Banana Three and Rapparee Champ have solid placed form and make each-way appeal.
KOREA could be all the sharper with last month's Listowel run behind her and can leave that bare form behind and strike at the second time of asking for Willie Mullins. Banana Three and Rapparee Champ have the best hurdle form, while promising Flat winner Mr Percy failed to get beyond the first on his recent hurdle debut but the fact he went off at 2/5 suggests good things were expected.
KAZAKH D'ARTHEL travelled well throughout when second at Listowel on hurdling debut and is capable of going one better

1st (3) (9/2 -13%) One Last Glance |
9/2(-13%) | (3) One Last Glance 9/2, Yet to win but generally consistent so probably worth forgiving his latest remote third of 4 over fences at Bangor when last seen in March. Resumes in this sphere back from a break on a workable mark and should make his presence felt. Has been chasing; maiden hurdler but has placed form and this mark is workable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (8/1 +0%) Coup De Gold |
8/1(+0%) | (6) Coup De Gold 8/1, Won over 17f at Sedgefield for David Thompson in January and has made the frame on 2 of his 3 completed starts since switched to present yard. Not without each-way hope but yard fields a more intriguing candidate in the shape of handicap debutant Mount Washington. Strike-rate of 2-66 but both wins were over hurdles and only had four runs for this yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (10/3 -21%) Fresh Speculation |
10/3(-21%) | (1) Fresh Speculation 10/3, Signs of ability in maiden/novice company and has predictably raised his game switched to handicaps the last twice, latterly finishing third of 13 with Alice Stevens aboard at Chepstow (19.4f, good to soft) in April. Drop back in trip could be a good move and he's a must for the shortlist. In the region of 6l away in his two handicaps at about 2m3f and goes on soft ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (9/1 -20%) Good Impression |
9/1(-20%) | (4) Good Impression 9/1, Latest success was gained off 2 lb higher mark at Newton Abbot last September and shaped as though his turn may again be near when placed in handicaps at that course and over 18.7f here in July. Latest effort back at Newton Abbot was poor (reportedly lost his action) but fighting chance if on-song. Two placed efforts before losing his action the last time; exposed but has claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (17/2 +39%) Raise Your Glass |
17/2(+39%) | (5) Raise Your Glass 17/2, Appeared to improve a touch when runner-up on second start for this yard here in March but subsequent handicap debut back at this venue the following month lacked spark. Now tried in a tongue strap. Second here in March and drying ground to blame when quiet on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (15/2 +6%) Mount Washington |
15/2(+6%) | (2) Mount Washington 15/2, Showed a fair level of ability when third on first of 2 runs in bumpers. Little to shout about in his qualifying runs in this sphere but it's not hard to envisage this 5-y-o taking a step forward now pitched into a handicap. He's by no means devoid of ability and goes handicapping at a realistic level. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (50/1 +67%) Straitouttacompton |
50/1(+67%) | (9) Straitouttacompton 50/1, Poor on Flat nowadays and, having offered little over hurdles so far, he's 14 lb 'wrong' at the weights for his handicap debut in this sphere. Tailed off in a claimer on final jumps run and 14lb out of the handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (8) (3/1 +57%) Night Jet |
3/1(+57%) | (8) Night Jet 3/1, Wasn't beaten far when fifth in an 8-runner Ludlow handicap (15.8f, heavy) on final run of last season but record stands at 0-10 over hurdles and it's hard to be sure what his optimum trip is. Maiden who has had a few chances in handicaps but was only 4l away last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (28/1 -460%) Dreaming Diamond |
28/1(-460%) | (7) Dreaming Diamond 28/1, Bumper winner who produced just about her best effort yet over jumps when finding just one too good in a 15.8f Uttoxeter handicap hurdle on latest start in July. Changed hands since and by no means certain to build on that but she will be a threat if able to do so. Bumper winner; changed yards but repeat of Uttoxeter second would see her in the mix. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
DREAMING DIAMOND finished over nine lengths clear of the third when filling the runner-up spot in this grade at Uttoxeter in July and she has since switched to the Max Young stable. The daughter of Shirocco is only 1lb higher and she looks the one to beat. One Last Glance finished third when last seen over the smaller obstacles at Plumpton in January and is a consistent performer to note, while Fresh Speculation rates best of the rest.
The vote goes to FRESH SPECULATION, who shaped as though the drop back to this trip would be in his favour when third at Chepstow on his final appearance of last season. He resumes on the same mark and, with just a handful of runs under his belt, this 6-y-o's best days are surely still ahead of him. One Last Glance is second choice ahead of potential improver Mount Washington, while Good Impression will also be a threat if he puts his best foot forward.
There's no standout contender. Henry Daly has had a recent winner and FRESH SPECULATION has run well in both his handicaps.

10/1(+29%) | (16) Kind Of Blue 10/1, Has come a long way since winning his first two in the spring, taking another big leap forward when just failing behind Montassib in the Sprint Cup at Haydock 6 weeks ago. From the family of The Tin Man and Deacon Blues, both winners of this race for the stable, and looks poised for another big run. Has made giant strides, only just denied in Sprint Cup; looks a Group 1 winner in waiting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (17) (17/2 +29%) Swingalong |
17/2(+29%) | (17) Swingalong 17/2, Group 3 winner at York last year and better than ever when narrowly beaten in the QEII Jubilee here and July Cup at Newmarket (headed late on by Mill Stream) this summer. Another not seen to best effect in the Haydock Sprint Cup and she forms part of a mighty challenge for Karl Burke. Has clear claims on her July Cup second; made the frame 12 months ago; hard to rule out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (20) (25/1 -56%) Flora Of Bermuda |
25/1(-56%) | (20) Flora Of Bermuda 25/1, Won the Group 3 Summer Stakes at York in July and has remained in form, finishing with running left when fifth to Montassib in the Haydock Sprint Cup. Plenty more on her plate now. Yard took this with 33/1 shot in 2019. Group 3 winner; better than result in Sprint Cup; still improving and not without hope. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (12) (9/1 +36%) Beauvatier |
9/1(+36%) | (12) Beauvatier 9/1, Won his first 4 starts in his homeland last year and placed on all bar one of his runs since, ending up with a lot to do when third in the Prix de La Foret at the Arc Meeting a fortnight ago. Goes well in the mud and an interesting contender, representing different formlines to the principals. Less than a length behind Kinross when third in Foret at Longchamp; in the mix again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (7/1 -17%) Montassib |
7/1(-17%) | (6) Montassib 7/1, Has taken his form to a new level this year and made it 4 wins from his last 5 starts when edging out Kind of Blue in the Group 1 Sprint Cup at Haydock 6 weeks ago. Handles soft conditions well and is a key player. Has made into a top-drawer sprinter this year; Sprint Cup winner last month; solid chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (20/1 +20%) Spycatcher |
20/1(+20%) | (10) Spycatcher 20/1, Fared best of those held up when just over 2 lengths behind Art Power and Kinross in this last year and added another Deauville Group 3 to his tally this summer. Good run at the Curragh latest and conditions have come right for him again so no surprise to see him outrun his odds. Goes well at 6f on soft; third in this race last year and has each-way possibilities again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (7/2 +42%) Kinross |
7/2(+42%) | (4) Kinross 7/2, Very smart and likeable performer who won this in 2022 and was edged out by Art Power last year. Arrives in top form following victory in the Park Stakes at Doncaster and another second in the Prix de La Foret and looks set for another big performance. Winner/runner-up in this race last two seasons; retains all his ability; high on the list. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (15) (12/1 +14%) James's Delight |
12/1(+14%) | (15) James's Delight 12/1, Has had a great season, notching up a fourth win of the year in 6f listed race at Deauville in July before splitting Spycatcher and Beauvatier there last time (better placed than the third). Proven in the mud and has Ryan Moore in the plate again but this is a big step up. Has progressed from handicaps; edged out in Group 3 last time; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (28/1 +0%) Annaf |
28/1(+0%) | (1) Annaf 28/1, Thrived this time last year, taking the Portland and Group 3 over C&D, and added another win to his tally in Group 2 in the Middle East in February. Likely to be at his peak following 2 comeback runs last month, seeming to find a bare 5f against him at Newbury, and not dismissed back here. Should be suited by return to 6f but several others have stronger claims on form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (18) (18/1 -64%) Unequal Love |
18/1(-64%) | (18) Unequal Love 18/1, Has gone from strength to strength this year, taking the Wokingham over C&D before good runs behind Flora of Bermuda at York (third, not seen to best effect) and stablemate Montassib and Kind of Blue at Haydock. More needed again to take a hand here but it's not impossible. C&D Wokingham winner; third to Montassib in Sprint Cup; may take another step forward. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (9) (100/1 -150%) Shouldvebeenaring |
100/1(-150%) | (9) Shouldvebeenaring 100/1, Just failed behind Mill Stream in the Duke of York in May and landed a Deauville Group 3 in the summer. Poor at Newmarket last week and hard to fancy from stall 1. Has won just one of last 17 races and was tailed off last week; would be a shock winner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (3) (10/1 +17%) Audience |
10/1(+17%) | (3) Audience 10/1, Made all (raced apart from rest) in the Lockinge at Newbury on reappearance and quickly back to his best when defying a penalty in Group 2 Lennox at Goodwood, beating Art Power and Kinross. Off day when odds on for York Group 2 latest and has rare crack at 6f now with the ground probably not ideal. Leading claims on Lockinge and Lennox wins; interesting contender down in trip after break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (2) (16/1 +27%) Art Power |
16/1(+27%) | (2) Art Power 16/1, Has form figures of 4481 in this race, finally landing the big pot he'd long promised when beating Kinross 12 months ago. Form mixed this year but was a good fourth in the July Cup and no surprise to see him go well here again with conditions in his favour. Won this on soft ground 12 months ago but hasn't been at his best this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (7) (80/1 +0%) Moss Tucker |
80/1(+0%) | (7) Moss Tucker 80/1, Successful return at Naas but well below that form since, including in the Abbaye a fortnight ago, and up against it in a first-time visor here. Won Group 1 Flying Five in 2023 but arrives here in no sort of form; now wears a visor. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
15th (5) (14/1 -27%) Mill Stream |
14/1(-27%) | (5) Mill Stream 14/1, Has had a fine year, winning the Duke of York and July Cup, with a good third in the QEII Jubilee at Royal Ascot in between. Ran a bit flat in the Maurice de Gheest 11 weeks ago but shouldn't stay down for long. July Cup winner; now returns from a break after below-par run in France; not discounted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
16th (8) (66/1 -32%) Shartash |
66/1(-32%) | (8) Shartash 66/1, Successful on his first 2 starts of the year over 7f and went close behind Shouldvebeenaring in 6f Deauville Group 3 in the summer. Not so good since and plenty on his plate here in first-time blinkers. Hasn't built on 7f Listed win in May; needs plenty of improvement for fitting of blinkers. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
17th (13) (22/1 +21%) Bucanero Fuerte |
22/1(+21%) | (13) Bucanero Fuerte 22/1, Group 1 winner at 2 yrs and successful in 6f Naas Group 3 on return in May. Might have needed his 2 runs back last month, fading in the Haydock Sprint Cup and taken off his feet behind Bradsell in the Flying Five. Proven in the mud and not dismissed. Improvement required but he's fresh, handles soft ground and may have untapped potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
18th (11) (80/1 -21%) Vafortino |
80/1(-21%) | (11) Vafortino 80/1, 2022 Victoria Cup winner who ran well on his only go over 6f for this yard in the Wokingham in June. Runner-up again in a Group 2 at York 8 weeks ago but probably only playing for a place again at best in such a hot contest. Sixth in Wokingham and second in City Of York but faces a stiff task in his first Group 1. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
19th (14) (12/1 +14%) Elite Status |
12/1(+14%) | (14) Elite Status 12/1, Much improved in his second season, winning 6f listed and Group 3 at Newbury, clear of Kind of Blue in the latter. Not seen to best effect drawn away from the main principals in the Haydock Sprint Cup last time and could have a bigger effort in him at the top level. Group 3 winner; poorly drawn when only eighth in Group 1 last time; worth another chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
20th (19) (33/1 +34%) Vadream |
33/1(+34%) | (19) Vadream 33/1, Has blown hot and cold this year but ran well in the Group 3 Bengough over C&D a fortnight ago, a race she won in 2021 when also fifth in this. Fourth behind Montassib and co in the Haydock Sprint Cup but she'll do well to better that here. Loves the mud; fourth in Group 3 over C&D two weeks ago but this is a much stiffer task. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
KINROSS seeks redemption after finishing second as favourite in the Prix de la Foret, having also occupied the runner-up spot 12 months earlier. Ralph Beckett's gelding didn't enjoy as kind a passage as the winner and could perhaps be marked up. Also a previous winner of this, he looks certain to have the race run to suit and is fancied to repay his supporters. There will be challenges aplenty, perhaps none more so than from Montassib, who took his form to a new level when winning the Sprint Cup at Haydock. French challenger Beauvatier finished a place behind the selection on Arc day and may not be far away, while others to note include Mill Stream and last year's victor Art Power, who arrives in similar form this time around.
KIND OF BLUE has gone from strength to strength in his first season, just failing behind Montassib in the Group 1 Sprint Cup at Haydock 6 weeks ago. He's since changed hands privately and certainly has the pedigree for this race, being related to the yard's 2011 and 2016 winners Deacon Blues and The Tin Man. There is probably a bigger performance in his locker and if he handles conditions he seems sure to go well. French-runner Beauvatier, 2022 winner Kinross and Montassib are firmly in the mix.
This is competitive and cases can be made for many, but the verdict goes to KIND OF BLUE whose progress this year has been meteoric.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) (12/1 -100%) Silver Arrow |
12/1(-100%) | (6) Silver Arrow 12/1, Promising type. Better effort when third of 9 in novice at Newcastle (6f, 6/1) 78 days ago. Open to further progress. Ran well on latest 6f start while shaping as if this extra furlong will suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (5) (5/2 +79%) Lever Up |
5/2(+79%) | (5) Lever Up 5/2, Twice-raced gelding. 50/1, fourth of 9 in novice at York (7.9f, good to soft) 41 days ago, slowly away. Both outings at York, better effort when fourth last time; drops to lower level. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
SILVER ARROW showed marked improvement from his first to second start when third at Newcastle last time out, and the form of that contest has been franked by the winner going close in a valuable sales race since. The step up in trip looks like a good move and he gets the vote ahead of recent C&D runner-up Genbu, and Jachin, who wasn't beaten far at Redcar last time. Canavan and Saxon Raider cannot be ruled out either.
CANAVAN stepped up on debut when third to a pair of subsequent winners at Musselburgh 5 weeks ago and shades the vote over Genbu, who offered plenty to work on when runner-up over C&D. Silver Arrow left his debut run well behind when third at Newcastle and is another to consider.
Having shown clear promise here 17 days ago, GENBU is preferred. Saxon Raider is second choice, ahead of Lever Up.

66/1(+34%) | (3) Finnfaraway 66/1, Little impact in 4 maiden chases. Makes hurdles debut. Poor pointer has been well beaten in four chase starts under rules; has no appeal here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
IAMAGETAWAY ran well in a couple of decent bumpers last winter and shaped like he needed the outing when fifth in another useful contest at Sligo in July. Fifth on his hurdling debut at Wexford the following month, he is now tried in a tongue-tie and goes up in trip and down in grade in this ordinary contest. Formerly with Gordon Elliott, Yorkshire Escape was returning from 11 months off when fifth in a similar contest at Tramore and is entitled to improve for the run. Spinola Bay ran OK over 2m at Tramore last week and may be suited by stepping up in trip, while Nells Choice was well supported when returning to form at Fairyhouse and gets first-time cheekpieces.
SPINOLA BAY took a step forward when fifth at Tramore last week and, with the longer trip expected to suit based on his pedigree, he could well progress again and open his account. The dangers are headed by standard-settler Nells Choice and Iamagetaway, who is likely to improve on his opening effort in this sphere at Wexford.
NELLS CHOICE was backed off the boards when fourth at Fairyhouse last Saturday and this race won't take much winning

1st (1) (8/13 +67%) Westerninthepark |
8/13(+67%) | (1) Westerninthepark 8/13, Bumper winner who was progressive over hurdles for Anthony Charlton last season, scoring at Plumpton and Fakenham prior to finishing a good fifth of 17 in a Grade 3 Sandown handicap (2½m, soft) in March. Very much of interest starting out over fences for new yard here. Creditable fifth in EBF Final on handicap hurdle debut; now chasing for new stable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (40/1 +0%) As Tears Go By |
40/1(+0%) | (8) As Tears Go By 40/1, Hit the target twice for Gordon Elliott in 2023 but it's been tough going in 4 starts for new connections since returning to action during the summer, most recently finishing well held on chase debut at Worcester. Out of form for new stable this season but still worth a glance in the betting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (16/1 -113%) Belargus |
16/1(-113%) | (2) Belargus 16/1, Lightly-raced and largely below his best since latest success at Sandown in April 2021 but ended last season by finishing a solid second in first-time blinkers at Huntingdon (23.6f, soft). Record when fresh isn't compelling and goes without blinkers this time but he's a player nonetheless. Placed off much reduced mark in blinkers at end of last season but others appeal more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (6/1 -71%) Innisfree Lass |
6/1(-71%) | (7) Innisfree Lass 6/1, Improved upped in trip/with cheekpieces fitted when running out a wide-margin winner of 2 handicap hurdles at Southwell (24.3f, heavy) during second half of last term. Gone up 12 lb for latest success but she will be a danger to all if her jumping passes the test now switched to fences. Big improver over hurdles when cheekpices were added last season; chase debut today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (6/1 +14%) Clondaw Royale |
6/1(+14%) | (5) Clondaw Royale 6/1, Made an encouraging start over hurdles when landing a Bangor maiden here last December. However, he has failed to progress in 2 subsequent completions, including on chase debut back at the aforementioned track in June. Just a respectable fourth on chase debut in June but may fare better on this slower ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (13/2 +28%) Petticoat Lucy |
13/2(+28%) | (6) Petticoat Lucy 13/2, Fair hurdler who was successful at Newton Abbot and Exeter on her first 2 starts over fences. Appeared to be in contention when brought down at Cheltenham on latest appearance last December and she will be in with a shout if ready to roll. Absent since December but won readily when fresh a year ago and is only 1lb higher now. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Innisfree Lass barely saw another rival when bolting up over hurdles at Southwell in April and she is one to take seriously on her chase debut. However, BELARGUS gets the vote. Nick Gifford's nine-year-old showed a lot more in first-time blinkers over an extended 2m7f at Huntingdon on his latest outing and can defy a 1lb rise. William Cody is another to keep an eye on after his second at Market Rasen in April.
While it's tempting to side with those with experience over fences, if WESTERNINTHEPARK and Innisfree Lass take well to the larger obstacles at the first time of asking they could emerge as the chief protagonists. Preference is for the former, who acquitted himself well in a valuable novices' handicap hurdle at Sandown on his final run of last season and he brings a good deal of potential to the table. Imac Wood has race-fitness on his side and is best of the rest.
Preference is for PETTICOAT LUCY (nap), who returned from a layoff with a pretty stylish win at Exeter a year ago and is on a good mark.

() | (8) Minnie Hauk , €1,850,000 Frankel filly. Half-sister to 2 winners, notably smart 1m winner Tilsit. Very promising second of 15 in maiden at Cork (8f, good to soft, 13/8) on debut 18 days ago. Will improve and seems sure to win one of these. Solid runner-up on debut at Cork over this trip; should have improved and the one to beat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) ( ) Subsonic |
() | (9) Subsonic , Foaled March 1. Lope De Vega filly. Sister to smart 1½m-1¾m winner Real Dream. Dam 6f-1¼m winner, won Premio Lydia Tesio, from a very good family. Well-bred newcomer to note. Well-bred; this trip will suit on debut and considered, so check for market support. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) ( ) Calrissiana |
() | (1) Calrissiana , Twice-raced filly. 200/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, much improved when fifth of 11 in maiden at Gowran (8f, good) 28 days ago. Clearly has plenty of ability and worth considering. Much-improved when beaten 3l at Gowran last time wearing cheekpieces; can be involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) ( ) Guilty Pleasure |
() | (6) Guilty Pleasure , Eighth of 16 in maiden (14/1) at the Curragh (7f, good to soft) on debut 14 days ago. May need more time. Beaten 5l on debut in a 7f maiden at the Curragh; should have improved from that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) ( ) Kalixa |
() | (7) Kalixa , Kingman filly. Half-sister to 2-y-o 1m winner Kalikapour. Sixth of 11 in maiden at Gowran (8f, good, 11/1) on debut 28 days ago. Bred to need time and distance and should improve. Ran green when making her debut over this trip at Gowran; should have improved from that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) ( ) Eternal Spirit |
() | (3) Eternal Spirit , Galileo filly. Sister to several winners, including smart winner up to 1¼m Battle of Marengo. Ninth of 16 in maiden at the Curragh (7f, good to soft, 18/1) on debut 14 days ago, better for the run and not knocked about. Open to progress. Promise on debut over 7f at the Curragh; can run well but looks the stable's second-string. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) ( ) Dawn Spirit |
() | (2) Dawn Spirit , Foaled January 26. Australia filly. Dam unraced half-sister to smart German winner up to 11f Narrativo, including Group 2. Makes plenty of appeal on paper and interesting to see a market move. By a quality sire and hails from a strong German damline; has to command respect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) ( ) Faberi |
() | (4) Faberi , Foaled February 22. Holy Roman Emperor filly. Dam 12.3f-15f winner. Finished sixth in a barrier trial at this track in August; will need to better that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) ( ) Grace My Love |
() | (5) Grace My Love , Foaled January 2. Parish Hall filly. Dam, 2-y-o 5f winner, half-sister to useful 2-y-o 6f winner (stayed 9.5f) Freedom of Speech. Starting out pretty late but worth a look. Solid pedigree but worth a market check from this renowned source. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
MINNIE HAUK was a very costly acquisition and connections will be trying to land a late-season maiden with her before she goes on to better things next year. She sets the standard courtesy of her runner-up berth over the same trip in Cork. Joseph O'Brien and Dylan Browne McMonagle continue to be a formidable partnership and they team up with Australia filly Dawn Spirit, who has to be taken seriously on debut. Jim Bolger's newcomer Grace My Love is one to keep an eye on in the market as she actually holds a Group 3 entry this month. There are winners in Guilty Pleasure's pedigree and she can improve upon an opening eighth at the Curragh.
€1.85m Frankel filly MINNIE HAUK made a very promising start when second at Cork over this trip recently and could be hard to beat with improvement likely. Calrissiana has races in her judged on her Gowran run, while Kalixa and Eternal Spirit can do better.
With improvement likely from her promising Cork debut, MINNIE HAUK should be able to go one better once handling this softer ground.

1st (12) (10/3 -11%) Kalpana |
10/3(-11%) | (12) Kalpana 10/3, Having been unraced at 2 yrs, made it 4 wins from 7 starts this year with a impressive success in 7-runner September Stakes at Kempton (12f) 6 weeks ago, beating Lion's Pride by 4¾ lengths. Capable of better still and she looks ready to make her mark at the highest level. Unraced on softer than good; going places and will have a major say if the ground suits. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (14) (12/1 +45%) Wingspan |
12/1(+45%) | (14) Wingspan 12/1, Doubled her tally with a listed success at Gowran in August and took her form up a notch when neck second of 9 to Hanalia in Blandford Stakes at the Curragh (10f, good) just under 5 weeks ago, seen to good effect from the front. Likely to progress further and should stay at least this far. Could be a marked improver now trying about 1m4f, as her dam was when winning this in 2017. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (13/2 +19%) Tiffany |
13/2(+19%) | (7) Tiffany 13/2, Progressive filly who made it 7 wins from her last 9 starts in T. von Zastrow Stutenpreis at Baden-Baden (11.9f, good) 7 weeks ago, a move to the stand-side rail into the straight probably making all the difference. Further improvement forthcoming so she's one to consider with cheekpieces applied. Perhaps ground softer than good is ideal and she should get that today; considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (18/1 -13%) Village Voice |
18/1(-13%) | (9) Village Voice 18/1, Got off the mark for the season in good style after 4 months off at Saint-Cloud (11.9f, soft) just over 5 weeks ago, admittedly well positioned in a steadily-run race but showing a good turn of foot to quickly put matters to bed. Another jolt of improvement needed. 4l clear in Listed race at Saint-Cloud (1m4f, very soft) last time; in each-way contention. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (25/1 +50%) Thunder Roll |
25/1(+50%) | (6) Thunder Roll 25/1, Doubled her career tally in listed event at Cork in April and has matched rather than advanced her from in better contests since, 1½ lengths fourth of 15 to Grateful in Prix de Royallieu at Longchamp (13.9f, good to soft) a fortnight ago. Faces another stiff task. Best form with cheekpieces enlisted for last two outings but she needs to find extra. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (18/1 -64%) Time Lock |
18/1(-64%) | (8) Time Lock 18/1, Stood out on form and fitted in a first-time tongue tie after 11 weeks off, convincingly won Princess Royal Stakes (for second year running) at Newmarket (12f, soft) just over 3 weeks ago. Seventh in this last year, she'll need a career best to take this on what may prove her swansong. Won in good style for the second year running in 1m4f Group 3 at Newmarket three weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (40/1 +50%) Sea Theme |
40/1(+50%) | (4) Sea Theme 40/1, Recorded career victory number 3 with wide-margin success in listed event at Clairefontaine in July and ran about as well as could've been expected when sixth of 15 to Grateful in Prix de Royallieu at Longchamp (13.9f, good to soft) a fortnight ago (tongue tied). Up against it. Dual 1m4f Listed winner; ran creditably on last two outings but has major work to do. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (6/1 +40%) Quantanamera |
6/1(+40%) | (2) Quantanamera 6/1, Smart performer who won both starts at 2 yrs and recorded a first success since when comfortably winning Grand Prix de Deauville (12.4f, soft) just under 8 weeks ago, beating Arrest by 4 lengths. This is clearly tougher, but she'll have no issue with conditions and could be worth chancing. Last to first in six-runner Group 2 at Deauville (12.5f, very soft; hooded) in August. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (16/1 +20%) Sumiha |
16/1(+20%) | (5) Sumiha 16/1, Runner-up twice in listed company in spring then won Munster Oaks at Cork in June. Improved on that despite not being seen to very best effect in a deeper race when fourth of 10 in Kilternan Stakes at Leopardstown (12f, good) 5 weeks ago and remains with potential. Cheekpieces applied. Best efforts on last two starts; lightly raced compared to most of these; first headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (3) (11/1 -10%) Queen Of The Pride |
11/1(-10%) | (3) Queen Of The Pride 11/1, Beautifully-bred filly who won the Group 3 Pinnacle Stakes at Haydock on only her fourth career start and took a big step forward when following up in Lancashire Oaks there the following month. However, she ran no sort of race in Yorkshire Oaks at York (11.8f) last time so must bounce back. Ran badly when second favourite for Yorkshire Oaks, her first race on good to firm. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (10) (13/2 +0%) Content |
13/2(+0%) | (10) Content 13/2, Found quite a bit of improvement this season, keener than ideal but still strong in the finish when winning Yorkshire Oaks at York (11.8f) in August. Easy to put a line through her effort in Prix de l'Opera at Longchamp (9.9f, soft) earlier this month (when hooded) so holds every chance. 2nd in Irish Oaks and won Yorkshire Oaks; very shortlived effort in 1m2f Group 1 latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (1) (12/1 +25%) Doha |
12/1(+25%) | (1) Doha 12/1, Regally bred filly who has taken her form up a notch this year, landing 1m Royal Ascot handicap in June then doubling her tally for the campaign with a cosy success in listed mares' event at Saint Cloud (9.9f, soft) earlier this month. This level seemingly beyond her pay grade, though. 1m2f French Listed win (very soft) two weeks ago; pedigree says 1m4f will be no problem. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (13) (25/1 +0%) War Chimes |
25/1(+0%) | (13) War Chimes 25/1, Ran up to best when third of 12 to Ezeliya in Oaks at Epsom (12f, soft) in June but not in the same form in the Irish equivalent at the Curragh (12f, good to firm) back in July, pulling hard and generally looking a hard ride. Plenty to find once again. Staying-on third when 50-1 in the Oaks, easily her best show this term; hung badly latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (11) (14/1 +22%) Grateful |
14/1(+22%) | (11) Grateful 14/1, Showed much improved form to spring a mild surprise upped markedly in trip in Stanerra Stakes at Fairyhouse in July and ran her best race yet when winning 15-runner Prix de Royallieu at Longchamp (13.9f, good to soft) a fortnight ago, scoring with a bit in hand. 1 of 3 for the yard. 1m6f for last four outings, winning two; latest was in some style in Longchamp Group 1. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
Kalpana was visually impressive when winning the September Stakes at Kempton last month. The improving three-year-old remains of definite interest, but she has yet to prove herself under these conditions and, although pedigree suggests it shouldn't be an issue, a chance can be taken on TIFFANY. Three from four this season, with her most recent triumph coming in a Group 2 at Baden-Baden, she's been equally as progressive and, with slow ground certain to suit, the daughter of Farhh may provide some value. Yorkshire Oaks heroine Content holds all the aces on official figures but, on this ground, her Prix de Royallieu-winning stablemate Grateful might be the bigger threat.
A substandard renewal of one of the major prizes in the calendar for fillies & mares so it could be worth taking a chance on German-raider QUANTANAMERA, who looked a filly with a bright future when bolting up in a Group 3 on just her second career start and belatedly added to her tally at Deauville when last seen in August. Kalpana has progressed rapidly this season, so she rates as the obvious danger, with Tiffany, Content and Wingspan all having the potential to rate higher, too.
At least half the field can easily be given a serious chance but QUANTANAMERA gets the vote ahead of Wingspan.

1st (1) (11/10 +51%) Jetara |
11/10(+51%) | (1) Jetara 11/10, Useful hurdler. Five wins from 16 NH runs. Good 3¼ lengths second of 6 to Ballyburn in Champion Novices' Hurdle (16/1) at Punchestown (20.6f, soft) when last seen in May. This won't be easy under a penalty but she merits respect nonetheless. Grade 3 winner placed in three Grade 1s last term; 10l penalty so has to be ready enough. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (18/1 -125%) Royal Eagle |
18/1(-125%) | (5) Royal Eagle 18/1, Useful hurdler. 22/1, thirteenth of 15 in handicap hurdle at Listowel (16f, soft) 22 days ago. Significantly up in trip and she needs to bounce back. Disqualified after winning on the level at Bellewstown before poor hurdle run at Listowel. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (9/2 +10%) Feet Of A Dancer |
9/2(+10%) | (3) Feet Of A Dancer 9/2, Useful hurdler. 11/4, career best when winning 9-runner minor event hurdle at Wexford (17f, good to soft) 143 days ago. Successful both starts at around 2½m and, with this new trip likely to be within range, she's a major player. Goes well fresh so her absence is no concern and yard among the winners; go well if stays. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (4/1 0%) Riviere D'etel |
4/1(0%) | (4) Riviere D'etel 4/1, Useful chaser. Latest success at Fairyhouse in January. 10¼ lengths third of 5 to Apple Away in listed chase at Perth (23.8f, soft, 11/4) 178 days ago. Switches from chase to hurdles. Yard also saddles Royal Eagle. Grade 2-winning chaser was runner-up in this last year; looks a player again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (13/2 -30%) Champella |
13/2(-30%) | (2) Champella 13/2, Useful hurdler. Career best when winning 8-runner handicap hurdle at Listowel (20f, soft, 13/2) 21 days ago, driven out. Well worth her place at this level and she won't go down without a fight. In fine form; is well worth a crack at this grade but the trip is a concern. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (10/1 +29%) Stormalong |
10/1(+29%) | (7) Stormalong 10/1, Fairly useful hurdler. 11/4, career best when winning 10-runner handicap hurdle at Clonmel (19.9f, good) 16 days ago, easily. More on her plate up in class here. Won a Clonmel handicap in good style last time but she is taking a steep step-up in class. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (15/2 +46%) Littlebiggie |
15/2(+46%) | (6) Littlebiggie 15/2, Fairly useful hurdler. 7¾ lengths last of 4 to Gaucher in Joe Mac Novices' Hurdle at Tipperary (16.2f, good to soft, 7/2) 13 days ago. Significantly back up in trip and needs to raise her game. Decent mare but has a bit to find with some of these rivals on today's terms. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
A 10lb penalty for her Grade 3 victory at Leopardstown last Christmas and the fact that she has missed a couple of recent Flat engagements, either of which would have been a nice pipe-opener, means that JETARA may be somewhat vulnerable but her Grade 1 form in the spring still makes her difficult to oppose. Jessica Harrington's six-year-old ran with great credit three times in a row at the highest level last term and rounded off the campaign when chasing home star novice Ballyburn at the Punchestown Festival. Progressive handicapper Champella is race-fit, which may give her an edge over Feet Of A Dancer, absent since May, and last year's runner-up Riviere D'etel, who is more effective over fences.
CHAMPELLA and Feet of A Dancer could be the pair to concentrate on, with marginal preference for the former who looked better than ever when making every post a winning one in a Listowel handicap three weeks ago. Feet of A Dancer made it 4-8 over hurdles at Wexford on her latest start in May and she will be a big danger if coping with this step up in trip. Jetara brings top-level form to the table and she is bound to be involved, despite carrying a penalty.
Proven over this far, unlike some of her main rivals, JETARA can score on seasonal debut despite missing a prep run.

12/1(0%) | (4) Lexie's Moon 12/1, Got off the mark at Huntingdon in March but pulled up on his handicap debut at Kelso (18.1f, good to soft) in April. Needs to hit the ground running after 6 months off. Maiden winner over 2m on soft but ran no race on her handicap debut at Kelso in April. |

2nd (5) (8/1 -14%) It's Easy |
8/1(-14%) | (5) It's Easy 8/1, Fairly useful maiden chaser in France for David Cottin but just respectable efforts at best for Clive Boultbee-Brooks here. Needs this yard switch to spark a resurgence. Having first start over hurdles in Britain but may need further than 2m these days. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (18/1 +28%) River Robe |
18/1(+28%) | (6) River Robe 18/1, Winner at Market Rasen in June for Dan Skelton. Left that yard cheaply and well below par both runs for current yard at Stratford and Ludlow. Others appeal more. Ex-Skelton winner; hasn't been close to best in two runs for current outfit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (4/1 -20%) Ip Up |
4/1(-20%) | (1) Ip Up 4/1, Fair hurdler/chaser in France who won 2m handicap hurdles at Fakenham and Newcastle upon joining this yard. Came in last of 5 on return in 2m Hexham handicap chase but not ruled out switched back to hurdles. Did well hurdling last season and may have needed comeback run over fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (5/2 +17%) Strong Belle |
5/2(+17%) | (3) Strong Belle 5/2, Bagged 2m mares' maiden at Bangor in February but pulled up on her handicap debut at Kelso in May. Yard is going well so no surprise to see her bounce back here off a handy-looking mark. Maiden winner; downgraded here from handicap debut when pulled up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (7/4 -17%) Greyval |
7/4(-17%) | (2) Greyval 7/4, Dual winner in juvenile hurdles in 2022/23 season, including a listed event at Doncaster. Largely creditable efforts since, including when off 5 months before a fading fourth of eight in 2m Market Rasen handicap three weeks ago. Player. After a layoff she ran quite well in a higher grade at Market Rasen. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
GREYVAL wasn't disgraced in fourth in a class 2 event at Market Rasen on her return to action last month and the handicapper has left her mark alone. Fergal O'Brien's mare might only need to repeat that level of form in order to regain the winning thread. Strong Belle ran too bad to be true when pulled up at Kelso last time and she is worth another chance on only her second handicap start. It's Easy is the pick of the remainder.
GREYVAL should be all the better for her recent Market Rasen fourth so gets the nod at the chief expense of Strong Belle who is weighted to go well if back on song after a lay-off. Ip Up is also in the mix returned to this sphere.
This may go to GREYVAL who held her own in a higher grade three weeks ago. Strong Belle is feared most.

10th (10) (150/1 +0%) The Angelic Doctor |
150/1(+0%) | (10) The Angelic Doctor 150/1, Once-raced colt. Last of 14 in maiden (28/1) at Naas (7f, good to firm) on debut 30 days ago. Tailed off when 28-1 on debut at Naas last month and hard to fancy on the back of that. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Aidan O'Brien has an excellent record in this race and his SERIOUS CONTENDER could take the honours. This Wootton Bassett colt is going the right way after a fourth in Naas and a second place at Tipperary, and he holds some eyecatching entries. Another son of Wootton Bassett, Kilcrea Rock, arrives here on the back of a decent opening fourth in the Curragh, so he is a threat. Dermot Weld takes the wraps off Irish 2,000 Guineas entrant Raykir and a big run wouldn't be surprising. O'Brien's once-raced Medallion and his newcomer Glimmer Of Hope cannot be ruled out, while Sujet has shown ability in two starts.
KILCREA ROCK made a really promising start behind Sujet at the Curragh and might be able to improve past that one now and open his account. Serious Contender seems sure to win races judged on his Tipperary showing and has to be in the reckoning.
KILCREA ROCK was less than a length behind Sujet at the Curragh, doing best of those from rear and he should progress second time out

7/2(+0%) | (13) Tamfana 7/2, Very smart filly who was unlucky not to win the 1000 Guineas. Decent efforts in defeat upped in trip next 2 starts but confirmed this is her best distance when stylish winner of the Sun Chariot back at Newmarket 2 weeks ago. Will handle the ground so another big run looks on the cards. Impressed when winning the Group 1 Sun Chariot a fortnight ago; firmly in calculations. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (50/1 +0%) Dancing Gemini |
50/1(+0%) | (8) Dancing Gemini 50/1, Listed winner at 2 and confirmed himself a smart performer when ½-length second to Metropolitan in French 2000 Guineas on reappearance. Hasn't kicked on since, however, and easily passed over. Runner-up in French 2,000 Guineas in May but hasn't shone recently. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (20/1 -25%) Quddwah |
20/1(-25%) | (7) Quddwah 20/1, Took another step up the ladder when making it 4 from 4 in Summer Mile here (round course) in July. Lost his unbeaten record when 3¼ lengths fourth of 8 to Charyn in Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville following month so needs to resume progress. Unraced on going softer than good to soft. Lost unbeaten record when fourth to Charyn in Prix Jacques le Marois; each-way candidate. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (50/1 -25%) Checkandchallenge |
50/1(-25%) | (2) Checkandchallenge 50/1, Smart at his best but was beaten at listed level at Sandown last time and unlikely he'll open his account for the year in this. Fourth in this last year, albeit beaten 15 lengths. Down the pecking order on form but 4th in last two runnings of this race at 22-1 and 40-1. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (7/1 +30%) Henry Longfellow |
7/1(+30%) | (9) Henry Longfellow 7/1, Won all 3 starts as a juvenile, notably the Group 1 National Stakes at the Curragh. Proved his French 2000 Guineas run all wrong when runner-up St James's Palace, getting first run. Not seen to best effect third in Prix du Moulin de Longchamp, though was beaten fair and square by Charyn that day. Runner-up in St James's Palace Stakes here; hasn't kicked on since but he's not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (11) (22/1 -100%) Metropolitan |
22/1(-100%) | (11) Metropolitan 22/1, Proved a totally different proposition when holding on by ½ length from Dancing Gemini in French 2000 Guineas at Longchamp and confirmed himself a smart 3-y-o when placed in St James's Palace at Royal Ascot and Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville. Likely to find a few too good once again, however. 3l second to Charyn in the Jacques le Marois; needs more but can give another good account. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (50/1 +50%) Ice Max |
50/1(+50%) | (10) Ice Max 50/1, Much improved this year and again took form to another level when a length too strong for Poker Face in the Celebration Mile at Goodwood. Frame claims on that form and testing ground will suit, though he needs to shrug off a poor run in the Joel Stakes at Newmarket. Won Group 2 at Goodwood in August; below par since; needs to bounce back with career best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (4) (150/1 -50%) Lord Massusus |
150/1(-50%) | (4) Lord Massusus 150/1, Smart performer who handles the mud but flying too high here even so. Listed winner in June but others have considerably stronger form claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (6) (10/1 +29%) Prague |
10/1(+29%) | (6) Prague 10/1, Failed to make the track during his time with Aidan O'Brien but has quickly made up into a very smart performer for this yard, improving again when winning 4-runner Joel Stakes at Newmarket (soft) 3 weeks ago by 3¾ lengths from Poker Face, well on top finish. This much deeper but respected. Supplemented for this race after impressive win in Group 2 at Newmarket; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (5) (66/1 +18%) Poker Face |
66/1(+18%) | (5) Poker Face 66/1, Winless this season but ran close to his best when second to Ice Max in Celebration Mile at Goodwood. Only respectable efforts next 2 starts, including when 3¾ lengths second of 4 to Prague in Joel Stakes at Newmarket 3 weeks ago. Firmly up against it. Won two 1m Group races in France last season; in good form but needs something extra today. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
Charyn has four wins from six starts and two second places this year, with his victories including the Queen Anne here at the Royal meeting, although that was on a quicker surface. Second in the Prix du Moulin last time out, he is a worthy favourite but may struggle to give 6lb to Atalanta Stakes and Sun Chariot heroine TAMFANA. An unlucky fourth in the 1000 Guineas and beaten less than a length in the Prix de Diane, she hasn't run a bad race all season and may make it three in a row. Quddwah has only lost the once, when fourth to Charyn in the Prix Jacques le Marois, and is one to consider at a far bigger price.
CHARYN should have completed a hat-trick of Group 1 wins in the Prix du Moulin de Longchamp 6 weeks ago and can make amends in what isn't a particularly strong renewal. Improving 3-y-o filly Tamfana rates the main threat on the back of her stylish win in the Sun Chariot at Newmarket 2 weeks ago, while Facteur Cheval is a solid performer at this level and is also likely to be in the mix.
C&D Queen Anne winner CHARYN holds leading form claims and is taken to land his third Group 1 win of the season. Tamfana is feared.

5th (8) (22/1 +0%) Mexican Moonshine |
22/1(+0%) | (8) Mexican Moonshine 22/1, Off the mark at Roscommon in September and improved a bit more when fourth of 5 in novice hurdle at Cork (24.2f, good) 6 days ago, needing stiffer test. This looks tougher, however. Roscommon maiden winner (2m4f) was 4th in a Cork novice over 3m last time; needs more. |

|PU| (3) (5/2 +17%) Ninth Titan |

Stable having good spell. Likely to be thereabouts once again. Maiden winner ran well in two novice events since; looks stable number one so respected. |

|PU| (6) (28/1 -27%) Ah Fuhgeddaboudit |
28/1(-27%) | (6) Ah Fuhgeddaboudit 28/1, Off the mark in a Ballinrobe maiden last month and seemed to excel herself when 7 lengths third of 4 in Grade 3 at Tipperary (16.2f, good to soft, 20/1) 13 days ago. Back up in trip. Maiden winner over 2m2f was third in a Tipperary Grade 3 last time; needs more up in trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
She has yet to race right-handed, and this will be her first time out of mares-only company, but WORLD OF FORTUNES has impressed in two starts over hurdles and gets the vote to bring up a hat-trick. Liam Kenny's mare returned from a layoff to win her maiden over 3m at Wexford in August and followed up in equally emphatic style at Listowel. Any easing of the ground is unlikely to detract from her chance. Ninth Titan had stablemate Just For Love a long way behind when runner-up in a decent heat at Galway and didn't handle the track when well beaten at Kilbeggan last time. Cobra Queen, progressive in handicaps, merits respect off her new mark of 120.
WORLD OF FORTUNES has made a most promising start to her career over hurdles and is fancied to complete the hat-trick with further improvement on the cards. The Willie Mullins-trained pair Ninth Titan and Just For Love are feared most in that order.
Preference is for the likeable mare WORLD OF FORTUNES who has returned in fine fettle this year and should have more to give

1st (8) (11/10 +37%) Glynn Brae |
11/10(+37%) | (8) Glynn Brae 11/10, Overcame inexperience to win 8-runner bumper (11/2) at Leopardstown (16f, soft) on debut in March. Sold from Stuart Crawford's stable for £130,000 later that month and has to be of major interest now going hurdling for red-hot stable. Fetched £130,000 after winning a soft-ground Leopardstown bumper. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (9/2 +18%) Lud'or |
9/2(+18%) | (9) Lud'or 9/2, Improved on hurdling debut form when second of 11 in juvenile at Auteuil (17.4f, soft) in June 2023. Not seen since but Harry Cobden booked for UK debut and must enter calculations. Had a long time off but showed plenty of promise in two French hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (6/1 -9%) Came From Nowhere |
6/1(-9%) | (1) Came From Nowhere 6/1, Bumper winner who wasn't seen to best effect switched to hurdling when third of 10 in a maiden at Uttoxeter (15.8f, soft) in May, considerately handled after losing ground/momentum when short of room 2 out. Will improve. Hooded. Chased home useful horses on hurdling debut and can no doubt do better again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (2/1 +33%) Whatsyourproblem |
2/1(+33%) | (6) Whatsyourproblem 2/1, Produced a promising first effort when second in a 2m Clonmel maiden hurdle in February. Failed to reproduce that effort in a couple of bumpers and a similar event at Tramore but could get back on track for new trainer (left John Queally). Two useful pieces of form in Ireland should do well for Fergal O'Brien. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (16/1 +0%) Trust House |
16/1(+0%) | (11) Trust House 16/1, Fairly useful form on Flat, stays 1½m, improved when won handicap final start in 2023. Sold from Ralph Beckett 58,000 gns but didn't get home on hurdling debut at Worcester last month. 1m4f winner; tailed off on hurdling debut after a year's absence; had to show more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (22/1 -10%) Diamond Geezer |
22/1(-10%) | (2) Diamond Geezer 22/1, Fair form when runner-up sole outing in bumpers but looks to be being brought along gradually in this sphere. Uncompetitive in two hurdles and the form of his bumper second is nothing special. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) (150/1 -50%) Soldier's Leap |
150/1(-50%) | (10) Soldier's Leap 150/1, Runner-up in a point in May but well held both starts over hurdles. Narrowly beaten in a point but has finished tailed off in both his hurdles. |

200/1(-100%) | (7) First Cut 200/1, Modest form in minor events/a handicap on the level for William Knight and as well held sent hurdling at Uttoxeter 13 days ago. Regressive Flat maiden who was 125-1 when tailed off in a Uttoxeter maiden. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (300/1 -200%) Pooroldmackley |
300/1(-200%) | (4) Pooroldmackley 300/1, Failed to complete both starts in points and has offered little in a pair of maiden hurdles. Needs this run for a handicap mark. Failed to complete in two points and opposable on what he's shown in two maidens. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (14) (125/1 -525%) Ironed Out |
125/1(-525%) | (14) Ironed Out 125/1, Showed a bit from a less-than-ideal position when fourth of 9 in bumper at Southwell (15.8f, soft) on debut in June, not ideally placed. Makes a quick switch to hurdling. Should stay a lot further so encouraging that she wasn't beaten far in her bumper. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (13) (250/1 -150%) Ballyhiho |
250/1(-150%) | (13) Ballyhiho 250/1, Placed on 2 of 4 starts in Irish points but made an unpromising start to career under Rules when well beaten in a Warwick bumper 16 days ago. Placed in two of her four Irish points; 100-1 and finished out the back in a 2m novice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (400/1 -300%) Helpful |
400/1(-300%) | (3) Helpful 400/1, Well held in bumpers 4 months apart for different yards and showed nothing fitted with a tongue strap on hurdle debut over C&D in July. No sign of ability in any of his runs and instantly opposable. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
An open contest and a chance is taken on GLYNN BRAE, who got off the mark at the first time of asking in a bumper at Leopardstown in March. Formerly trained by Stuart Crawford, the hurdles debutant looks an interesting recruit for Nigel Twiston-Davies and his horses couldn't be running much better at the moment. Whatsyourproblem bumped into two useful types when third in a Killarney bumper latest and he can be seen to better effect back over obstacles, while Lud'or makes most appeal of the remainder.
GLYNN BRAE overcame inexperience to run out a fairly cosy winner of a Leopardstown bumper on his debut back in March and makes plenty of appeal now going hurdling for a red-hot yard, so he earns the vote. Sonification appeals as the type to make up for lost time and looks sure to pose a big threat if taking up this engagement (also declared at Uttoxeter on Friday), with Lud'or and Whatsyourproblem others to consider.
There's substance to the form of GLYNN BRAE's bumper win at Leopardstown and he's narrowly preferred to Whatsyourproblem.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Aidan O'Brien's TRINITY COLLEGE holds a lofty rating of 103 after a 12-length romp in a Galway maiden and a close fourth in the Beresford Stakes. He only gave best in the closing stages at the Curragh and a reproduction of that effort ought to see him on the premises. O'Brien's Thrice wasn't troubled in landing short odds in a maiden at Listowel and looks ready for a step up in class. Joseph O'Brien's Emit handled plenty of cut in the ground when successful at Tipperary and also has the advantage of being proven over this trip. His stablemate Wemightakedlongway won well off the front in Cork and has plenty of potential.
TRINITY COLLEGE continued his run-to-run progression despite not being seen to best effect when fourth in a Group 2 at the Curragh 3 weeks ago and looks the one to beat back down in class. His stablemate Thrice rates the main threat after his impressive maiden win at Listowel.
Aidan O'Brien won this in 2023 and has solid claims of landing this with TRINITY COLLEGE (nap) who wasn't beaten far in a Gr 2 latest

17th (18) (40/1 -21%) Silin Alainn |
40/1(-21%) | (18) Silin Alainn 40/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Below form eighth of 13 in novice hurdle (50/1) at Sligo (17.8f, good to soft) 130 days ago. Makes handicap hurdle debut. Went backwards when last seen at Sligo in June; can only be watched on her handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
18th (12) (28/1 +15%) Petit Dejeuner |
28/1(+15%) | (12) Petit Dejeuner 28/1, C&D winner last November. Tenth of 14 in novice chase at Ballinrobe (17.1f, good, 200/1) 165 days ago. Switches from chase to hurdles. Sole victory came over C&D; high enough in the weights and would want it very testing. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
LUIMNEACH has two victories to his name and was runner-up to a tough sort at Sligo in August on his second run back from a long absence. He drops back from 2m4f, but has winning form over this distance. Brilliant Light won his maiden hurdle on good ground, but showed he could handle testing conditions when a creditable third in a Listowel handicap last month. He drops in trip and grade and looks a danger. A winner at Tipperary in the spring, Morepowertoya returned to form after a few moderate efforts when fourth at Gowran while Slip Jig, a maiden winner at Tipperary when last seen in May, and useful Flat performer Hutton Glen are handicap debutants to note.
Having returned to form when fourth at Gowran recently, MOREPOWERTOY could be the answer. Luimneach went close on his second start since returning from well over a year off at Sligo and he is feared most ahead of Brilliant Light, who is unexposed in this sphere and was a good third at Listowel last time. Lilian Bland will have an each-way chance if she puts her best foot forward.
BRILLIANT LIGHT (nap) proved he can go on any ground when third in a hot Listowel handicap latest and is effectively 5lb lower here

1st (1) (40/1 -43%) Anmaat |
40/1(-43%) | (1) Anmaat 40/1, Cracking strike-rate in the last 3 years, including a Longchamp Group 1. Added to his excellent record fresh with a second win in the Rose of Lancaster at Haydock (10.5f, good to firm) in August but not at his best when only fifth in Group 2 Prix Dollar back at Longchamp a fortnight ago. Productive gelding who is a Group 1 winner but this is the stiffest task of his career. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (6/4 +8%) Calandagan |
6/4(+8%) | (7) Calandagan 6/4, Most impressive tackling going firmer than good for the first time when a 6-length winner of King Edward at the Royal meeting. Bettered that form when length second to City of Troy (pair clear) in International at York (good to firm again) since. The one to beat if as effective back on deep ground. Impressive at Royal Ascot then clear second behind City Of Troy at York; top on ratings. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (25/1 +50%) Royal Rhyme |
25/1(+50%) | (4) Royal Rhyme 25/1, Added to his very good record on going softer than good when landing the Brigadier Gerard at Sandown (1¼m, soft) on his reappearance in May. Behind a few of these rivals on a quicker surface since but he's one who could go well at big odds with ground conditions in his favour. Strong record on soft/good to soft includes a creditable fifth in this contest last year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (20/1 -43%) Iresine |
20/1(-43%) | (3) Iresine 20/1, Very smart performer in France, including a win in the Group 1 Prix Ganay last year. Gained a second win the Group 2 Prix Foy at Longchamp last month and won't be fazed by this ground having won a Prix Royal Oak on heavy in 2022. Smart French performer but needs to defy the age stats; only one 7yo has won this prize. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (12) (66/1 +0%) See The Fire |
66/1(+0%) | (12) See The Fire 66/1, Went close in the Group 1 Nassau at Goodwood before landing Group 3 Strensall at York (9f, good to firm) in August. Placed again in Group 1 company among her own sex when third in Sun Chariot at Newmarket 2 weeks ago. Return to 1¼m in favour but still hard to make a strong case for. Honourable efforts in the Nassau and Sun Chariot; return to 1m2f is likely to suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (2/1 -7%) Economics |
2/1(-7%) | (8) Economics 2/1, Dual Group 2 winner who battled gamely to make it 4-4 for the season in the Irish Champion at Leopardstown (1¼m, good) last month, fending off Auguste Rodin by a neck with Los Angeles a length back in fourth. Looks capable of even better. Very progressive 3yo; game win in the Irish Champion Stakes most recently; rising star. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (28/1 -40%) King's Gambit |
28/1(-40%) | (9) King's Gambit 28/1, Impressive winner of the London Gold Cup (handicap) on his Newbury reappearance and even better form when placed at listed/Group level in his 3 outings since, including C&D. Los Angeles gave weight and a beating to him at York last time, though. Close third to Los Angeles in the Great Voltigeur; largely progressive and should go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (11) (50/1 +24%) Persica |
50/1(+24%) | (11) Persica 50/1, Has really flourished as a 3-y-o, winning 2 competitive handicaps and an Ayr listed race (all 1¼m). Acts on soft and might be capable of even better but he'll require a big jolt of improvement to play a prominent role here. Steadily progressive; bagged Listed honours at Ayr last time; this is much harder. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (13/2 +7%) Los Angeles |
13/2(+7%) | (10) Los Angeles 13/2, Placed in the Epsom Derby before winning the Irish version. Good effort to defy a Group 1 penalty in the Voltigeur at York in August before fine in-frame efforts in the Irish Champion (to Economics) and Arc this autumn. 1½m is his optimum trip but the ground should place the emphasis on stamina. Very consistent and doesn't have much to find with Economics on Irish Champion running. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) (28/1 +58%) Continuous |
28/1(+58%) | (2) Continuous 28/1, Won last year's St Leger. Built on his Royal Ascot reappearance fifth when winning the Royal Whip at the Curragh in August but only third to Iresine in the Foy next time and down the field in the Arc 13 days ago. Ended his 2023 campaign in great form; has failed to sustain it this term; opposed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (5) (40/1 +20%) Nashwa |
40/1(+20%) | (5) Nashwa 40/1, Very smart mare with 3 Group 1 wins to her name but she's been well below that level in her 2 outings this year, albeit she ran as if needing the outing after 6 months off when fifth in the Sun Chariot a fortnight ago. Acts on soft. High-class performer on her day (triple Group 1 scorer) but has a doubt over current form. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
Economics has been all the rage for this for some time and after keeping his perfect record for the year intact following a ding-dong battle with Auguste Rodin in the Irish Champion Stakes, he will be tough to beat. However, CALANDAGAN came from an impossible position to finish a length second to City Of Troy in the Juddmonte International at York, clocking some exceptional fractions late on, and a repeat of that might be enough to see the French challenger get the better of his market rival. Iresine gets on well with jockey Marie Velon and could steal the final placing ahead of Arc third Los Angeles, who appears the O'Brien number one.
Progressive 3-y-os CALANDAGAN and Economics do need to prove themselves fully effective on deep ground but they are clear on form and have the potential for even better. The former had 11 others, including Arc winner Bluestocking, well behind him when chasing home City of Troy in a strong renewal of the International at York and is narrowly preferred. Los Angeles, Iresine and Royal Rhyme can fight it out for third.
Being top on the figures and still improving, CALANDAGAN (nap) is taken to come out best in an engrossing clash with Economics.

This could be a very informative fillies' maiden. TAKEMETOTHEMOON is a half-sister to the mighty City Of Troy, which makes her of obvious interest. She holds an Irish 1,000 Guineas entry and represents powerful connections. Dermot Weld introduces another Guineas entrant in Bella Isabella, who is out of a mare who won at Group 3 level for the stable. Sea The Stars filly Candleford Green made 230,000gns at the sales and is a fascinating runner for Willie Mullins as her sister has been picking up big cheques in America this year. There is plenty to like about Guarded, a stablemate of Takemetothemoon, on paper, while Valencia has been out three times and her runner-up spot at Leopardstown reads well.
VALENCIA has shown more than enough to suggest she can win a maiden, including when fourth in a valuable sales event at the Curragh 3 weeks ago. Takemetothemoon is the standout among the newcomers being a half-sister to connections' top-class performer City of Troy
From the ones with experience, LADY IN PARIS appeals most after her encouraging run at the Curragh where she made up late ground

9/4(+44%) | (4) Silver Thorn 9/4, Related to a bumper winner and clear signs of ability in that sphere, runner-up at Huntingdon 6 months ago. One to consider upped in trip for hurdling debut.3 Ran well in his two bumpers and he's bred to appreciate a test of stamina over hurdles. |

Bumper winner for Henry Daly; similar form in his two seconds over hurdles. |

5th (3) (9/2 -29%) Night Duty |
9/2(-29%) | (3) Night Duty 9/2, £65,000 buy after winning his sole point in May 2021 but took him a while to get to the track before finishing a promising third in a novice at Market Rasen on hurdling debut. Off a further 18 months since, so clearly not the easiest to keep sound, but he remains with potential. Eyecatching over 2m4f on hurdling debut; another absence since; 2m6f will suit. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Having shaped as if a win over hurdles shouldn't be too far away on his last two starts, this represents a good opportunity for MIKIMOTO to get off the mark in this sphere. Martin Keighley's charge is entitled to have strengthened up since last sighted at Catterick in December last year and this extra yardage is a positive. Night Duty is feared most despite being absent since April last year, as he caught the eye when running on well over the extended 2m4f at Market Rasen, while Silver Thorn is also noted.
CARRIG KATE showed plenty in points and looked in need of further when fourth in a bumper at Southwell 6 months ago so, if the market speaks in her favour, she's a formidable player first time over hurdles. Mikimoto is an obvious danger and Night Duty can play a part.
Sean Bowen's mount MIKIMOTO was beaten by a useful rival in his second start over hurdles and he looks ready for this longer trip.

DIVILABOTHER has given the impression on several occasions this year that he has a handicap of this nature in him and first-time cheekpieces might help Thomas Coyle's grey to make the breakthrough. The Markaz gelding split two well-handicapped mares when runner-up at Sligo in July and, after a disappointing run when favourite at Kilbeggan, was less than a length behind a subsequent Listowel Festival winner when a staying-on third at Galway last month. Locally-trained contender Hees Dynamite has shown improvement lately and has been placed in his last two starts over a little bit further, while Portarlington has shown glimpses of ability and may improve for stepping up in trip on his first start for a shrewd yard.
Several to consider in this open-looking handicap. DIVILABOTHER has yet to get his head in front but it's still early days for this 6-y-o and he tops the list in first-time cheekpieces on the back of a solid third in a big-field Galway handicap last month. A Nod To Getaway, Hees Dynamite and Maggie Walsh all arrive here on the back of good efforts in defeat, too, and they are feared most in order of preference.
HARVEYSHONOR has shaped with promise in his first two handicaps, the ground will suit and he should be on the premises

2nd (2) (15/2 -25%) Grand Duchess Olga |
15/2(-25%) | (2) Grand Duchess Olga 15/2, Latest win at Kempton in June. Creditable third of 6 in handicap (9/2) at Chelmsford City (16f) 16 days ago. Won over 2m at Kempton in June and third both runs since; should be competitive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (5/1 +38%) Daaris |
5/1(+38%) | (3) Daaris 5/1, Ninth of 14 in handicap at York (16.2f, good to soft, 20/1) 98 days ago. This is easier on return and he usually goes well on AW. 1-26 but mostly consistent, including on AW; regular headgear missing after his break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (20/1 -135%) Trojan Truth |
20/1(-135%) | (5) Trojan Truth 20/1, Creditable second of 9 in handicap at this course (12.2f, 11/4) 28 days ago, nearest finish. Significantly up in trip and seems sure to figure if he stays. Good second over 1m4f latest but has stamina to prove up significantly in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (18/1 -50%) Samatian |
18/1(-50%) | (4) Samatian 18/1, Winner over hurdles. Creditable 13 lengths fourth of 8 to Simiyann in handicap at this course (14f, 18/1) 12 days ago, inadequate test. Winning hurdler but well held on Flat, beaten 13l when fourth to Simiyann here latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (4/1 +11%) Baileys Warrior |
4/1(+11%) | (6) Baileys Warrior 4/1, C&D winner in September. Evens, creditable second of 8 in handicap at this C&D 5 days ago, well positioned. Respected. Has a win and second over C&D in recent weeks; should go well again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (100/1 -100%) Love Is A Rose |
100/1(-100%) | (7) Love Is A Rose 100/1, 50/1 and visored for 1st time, tenth of 11 in handicap at Chelmsford City (10f) 21 days ago. Significantly up in trip. No impact in handicaps at up to 1m2f; remains to be seen if this much longer trip suits. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
GRAND DUCHESS OLGA was a good third over 2m at Chelmsford and this slight step up in trip can work the oracle for Julia Feilden's runner. The four-year-old filly runs off an unchanged mark for that one-length defeat, which can be exploited. Trojan Truth failed to justify favouritism when second over 1m4f at this venue, but the extra yardage might unlock some improvement. The consistent Baileys Warrior isn't easily discounted either.
SIMIYANN scored in good style here a fortnight ago and can double his tally after a creditable second at Chelmsford 2 days ago. Daaris is feared most ahead of Trojan Truth.
Recent course scorer SIMIYANN came clear of the rest when second at Chelmsford on Thursday and is the one to beat off the same mark.

1st (7) (14/1 -17%) Carrytheone |
14/1(-17%) | (7) Carrytheone 14/1, A two-time 7f scorer this term who also shaped well in a few big handicaps here this summer. Another fine effort when sixth of 18 in Challenge Cup here (7f, good) 14 days ago, left with too much to do. Plenty of soft ground form during his time in Ireland and Soumillon a good booking. Some solid efforts in defeat in handicaps here this season; could be thereabouts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (17) (18/1 -29%) Lattam |
18/1(-29%) | (17) Lattam 18/1, Good second to Mr Professor in the Lincoln at Doncaster (1m, heavy) in March on his reappearance and first outing for Julie Camacho. Not at the same level in his 2 outings since but given a break (goes well fresh) and could bounce back with a bang on ground which suits. Runner-up in the Lincoln in March but unplaced the next twice (April/June). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (25/1 +0%) Witch Hunter |
25/1(+0%) | (4) Witch Hunter 25/1, Won the Buckingham Palace here and Group 2 Hungerford at Newbury last year. Only narrowly failed to win the latter race again in August and also a good third in 1m Haydock Group 3 last month. Latest Newbury effort wasn't one of his best, though. Won the Buckingham Palace here last June on the last occasion he tackled a handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (10) (7/2 +46%) Thunder Run |
7/2(+46%) | (10) Thunder Run 7/2, Very promising individual who was having only the fifth start of his career when seeing off Mirsky by ½ length in valuable 1m handicap at the York Ebor meeting. Soft ground is an unknown for this strong traveller but likely capable of even better. 3yo who made it 3-5 when making all in Clipper Handicap at York; may continue to progress. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (16/1 -14%) Elnajmm |
16/1(-14%) | (5) Elnajmm 16/1, Lightly-raced 4-y-o who readily won 1m handicaps at Newcastle and over C&D on his return in midsummer. Respectable 2½ lengths fifth in listed race at Sandown (1m, good) 31 days ago, needing stronger gallop. Wears first-time cheekpieces. Enters calculations back in handicap. Highly progressive in the summer; hasn't kicked on recently; perhaps cheekpieces will help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (14) (9/1 +44%) Toimy Son |
9/1(+44%) | (14) Toimy Son 9/1, Chose a good day to open his account for this yard when a 2-length winner of the valuable Golden Mile at Glorious Goodwood in August. Better form in defeat since (third of 31 in Cambridgeshire latest) and should go well again. Won the Golden Mile and good third in the Cambridgeshire last time; he's in with a chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (28/1 -40%) Cicero's Gift |
28/1(-40%) | (3) Cicero's Gift 28/1, Much improved when making a successful return in strong 1m Sandown handicap (soft) from Holloway Boy. Respectable fourth to that same reopposing rival in a Haydock Group 3 in September but never involved in a Longchamp Group 2 a fortnight ago. His mark demands a very smart performance. Won off 2lb lower at Sandown (1m, soft) in July; mixed form since but not written off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (20) (16/1 +52%) Mirsky |
16/1(+52%) | (20) Mirsky 16/1, Useful ex-French performer who arrives in good nick, finishing fifth of 18 in the Challenge Cup over 7f here a fortnight ago. 1m probably suits him a bit better and he's another from the yard with an each-way shout. Kept on for fifth in 7f Challenge Cup here last time; each-way claims now back up to 1m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (18) (33/1 +34%) Padishakh |
33/1(+34%) | (18) Padishakh 33/1, Useful in France and back to that level for new yard when going close in a 1m Ayr handicap last month. Well held at York last weekend but it wasn't a race run to suit his hold-up style. Connections have tasted success in this race before. Well treated on last year's French form; went close at Ayr, then flopped on soft at York. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (12/1 +0%) Holloway Boy |
12/1(+0%) | (1) Holloway Boy 12/1, First success since taking the 2022 Chesham on debut when proving ½ length too strong for Prague (Group 2 winner since) in Haydock Group 3 (1m, good) 6 weeks ago. Posted some good efforts in big-field handicaps over the summer. Has a lofty mark to defy but he won a Group 3 at Haydock last month and is respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (16) (18/1 +28%) Godwinson |
18/1(+28%) | (16) Godwinson 18/1, Fine placed efforts in Newbury and York in the first half of this year and returned from a 10-week break to win a 1m Goodwood handicap (good to soft) in August. Caught on the wrong part of the track when mid-field in the Cambridgeshire last time and treated as if still in form. Cheekpieces added. Lightly raced 4yo who is in top hands; improvement can't be ruled out, but is necessary. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (11) (17/2 +29%) Bopedro |
17/2(+29%) | (11) Bopedro 17/2, Losing run is mounting up but plenty of creditable efforts to his name this season, including third of 18 in the Challenge Cup over 7f here a fortnight ago. Fourth in this 12 months ago. Each-way claims again. Kept on for third in 7f Challenge Cup here recently; could be in the mix now back up to 1m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (19) (8/1 +0%) State Actor |
8/1(+0%) | (19) State Actor 8/1, Won twice over 1m at the Curragh in the spring, including on heavy. Added to his largely progressive record when beaten only a head in the Irish Cambridgeshire back at the Curragh at the end of August. Much respected Irish raider. Went very close in Irish Cambridgeshire; progressive and could have more left in the tank. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (2) (50/1 -150%) Sir Busker |
50/1(-150%) | (2) Sir Busker 50/1, Credit to connections and ended 2-year losing run in big-field handicap at the York Ebor meeting. Respectable 2¼ lengths fourth of 9 to Persica in listed race at Ayr (1¼m, good to firm) since but very smart effort needed to defy this mark. 8yo; beaten in Listed race last time but has lots of good form at Ascot; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
15th (6) (50/1 -100%) Popmaster |
50/1(-100%) | (6) Popmaster 50/1, Course winner who ended 2023 with an excellent second in the Challenge Cup over 7f here but he was well held in this year's running of that race a fortnight ago. Others arrive with more pressing claims. Suited by this track and he's on a handy mark, but has had a patchy campaign this season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
16th (8) (9/1 -13%) Daysofourlives |
9/1(-13%) | (8) Daysofourlives 9/1, First home in his group when fourth of 29 in the Hunt Cup over C&D (firm) at the Royal meeting and followed that with a win at the Doncaster St Leger meeting. Should remain competitive up 4 lb but needs to show he's fully effective on this ground. Form of Doncaster win has been franked and this progressive 4yo is a possible player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
17th (9) (14/1 +22%) Mr Professor |
14/1(+22%) | (9) Mr Professor 14/1, Better than ever when winning Lincoln at Doncaster on heavy-ground on reappearance. Twice below that level on much quicker ground in the first half of the summer but better can be expected back under his optimum conditions after a break. Won the Lincoln in March; claims will be boosted today if he's back on slow ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
18th (15) (18/1 +28%) Mexicali Rose |
18/1(+28%) | (15) Mexicali Rose 18/1, Useful filly who won a Galway handicap in July. Creditable 3 lengths third of 14 in Tipperary listed race (7.4f, soft, 20/1) 13 days ago, never nearer. Not obviously well handicapped. Won Galway Mile in July; clearly well suited by a big-field scenario; possible contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
19th (12) (33/1 +0%) Star Of Orion |
33/1(+0%) | (12) Star Of Orion 33/1, Back to his best for his new yard when placed at Newmarket (1m) and Sandown (7f, twice) at the end of the summer. Shaped as if still in form when seventh of 18 in the Challenge Cup over 7f here 2 weeks ago. Acts in the mud. Effective here but only seventh in the Challenge Cup here recently; needs a bigger run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
20th (13) (80/1 -21%) Alaskan Gold |
80/1(-21%) | (13) Alaskan Gold 80/1, Useful at his best for Karl Burke (including second in listed race on heavy) but well below par when last of 5 in Chelmsford handicap on yard debut in August. Blinkered first time. Hard to fancy. 3yo; Greenham fifth; return to form needed in first-time headgear on second start for yard. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
A wide-open handicap and one that hasn't seen a successful favourite since 2017, with a 25/1 winner last year. Thunder Run took a competitive handicap at York's Ebor Festival in August and he can go well with Ryan Moore booked to ride, but a 4lb rise may be enough to stop him. TOIMY SON has been targeted at this since his Cambridgeshire third and with a top-four finish in his last six outings and an added 2lb for future races, he is fancied to go close under Oisin Murphy, especially if he starts smartly. Elnajmm won here in July and he could be of some interest if first-time cheekpieces bring any improvement.
A host with chances. TOIMY SON has some good efforts to his name in strong handicaps in recent months and might prove the answer under Oisin Murphy. Elnajmm, Lincoln runner-up Lattam, who has a strong record fresh and on deep ground, and recent Challenge Cup third Bopedro head the dangers. First reserve Qirat already has one really good effort to his name in a big-field handicap here this autumn and would be a major player if getting a run.
David O'Meara has won three of the last seven runnings and saddles an attractive candidate in BOPEDRO. Witch Hunter is a threat.

C&D winner. 9/1, good ½-length third of 9 to Vertical Blue in Prix Marcel Boussac at Longchamp (8f, good to soft) 13 days ago, having benefit of enterprising ride. The one to beat. Maiden winner here; cracking effort in Marcel Boussac in testing ground; hard to beat. |

2nd (1) (11/4 +0%) Antelope Canyon |
11/4(+0%) | (1) Antelope Canyon 11/4, Thrice-raced winner. 1 win from 3 runs this year. Second of 14 in minor event (9/4) at the Curragh (7f, good to soft) 21 days ago, clear of rest. Trainer going well. Improving all the time recently. Just touched off in Goffs Million last time, an effort worth marking up; slower ground now. |

Likely to improve. Big step forward from debut when bolting up at Cork and 2nd in AW Listed race since. |

Yard in good form. Should progress. Odds on for winning debut; not seen to best effect when 2nd in Listed race since. |

EXACTLY's consistency could be rewarded. Since shedding her maiden tag at this track in July, she has posted runner-up finishes in a Group 3 and a Group 2 before finishing third in a pair of Group 1 contests. She is ground versatile, is comfortably the highest-rated horse in the field, and is advantaged by the weights. Her stablemate Antelope Canyon just lost out on an enormous payout in the Goffs Million by a head at the Curragh last month. He has plenty of talent. Slower ground is an unknown for Comanche Brave, who has good form in the book, while similar sentiments apply to One Smack Mac. Celtic Motif isn't one to rule out.
Aidan O'Brien looks to hold a very strong hand here and his EXACTLY is fancied to bag a second C&D success on the back of her excellent Prix Marcel Boussac third last time out. Stablemate Antelope Canyon rates a big threat though if continuining his race-by-race improvement, with Comanche Brave and Last Encore the pick of the rest for minor honours.
It's hard to get away from EXACTLY after the filly's cracking effort in the Marcel Boussac and she relished testing ground that day

Cheekpieces back on and much respected for his new handler. Dual hurdles winner in Ireland last season; makes stable debut from workable mark. |

25/1(+24%) | (10) Admiral Fitz 25/1, Runner-up completed start in points but has shown little in 3 maiden hurdles. Lots more required now going into handicaps. Struggled to get seriously competitive in three Wincanton maiden hurdles last season. |

12th (11) (80/1 -60%) Uncle Arthur |
80/1(-60%) | (11) Uncle Arthur 80/1, Opened his hurdles account for Fergal O'Brien in December but largely struggled for James Owen. Well held both runs for his current yard too, undergoing breathing surgery before sixth of seven in 2m Worcester handicap 22 days ago. Has struggled on both starts for new stable and is very difficult to enthuse over now. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Any Biscuits showed a likeable attitude when scoring over an extended 2m2f at Exeter when last seen in April 2023, and he commands respect off a 6lb higher mark, despite the lengthy absence. SAILED AWAY edges preference. Stuart Edmunds' charge was last seen scoring with the minimum of fuss over an extended 2m3f at Huntingdon in the spring and a similar effort may well suffice upped 3lb. Ezmerellda is also noteworthy.
ANY BISCUITS has a long absence to overcome but hails from an in-form yard and was on a roll when last seen out so is worth siding with here. The consistent Ezmerellda could emerge as the chief threat to Harry Derham's hat-trick seeker ahead of Begin The Luck and Brownstone.
It's well worth chancing the fitness of ANY BISCUITS, who was in excellent form in spring 2023 when last seen.

First-time blinkers seemed to have a positive impact on JIMLI'S CAVE when he made the breakthrough over a little bit further at Downpatrick last week. The six-year-old has placed form at up to 3m1f and Donagh Meyler made good use of his stamina on the final circuit. Now 7lb higher, connections will be hoping that the headgear works again, although any deterioration in the ground would be a concern. The form of Lispopple's soft-ground win at Roscommon was franked when the runner-up was touched off next time, while Le Grand Vert has been in good form over fences and may have found the race coming too soon when disappointing over hurdles two starts back.
LISOPPLE improved from out of the blue to score at Roscommon last time but, based on the way he powered away, he's worth a chance to defy a rise. Ranger Billy is an obvious danger and Le Grand Vert is of interest returning to the smaller obstacles.
TULLYHOGUE FORT was beaten over an inadequate trip at Galway last time but this test will suit better and he has run well here before.

13/2(+19%) | (3) His Finest Hour 13/2, 9/1, third of 5 in maiden at Lingfield (12f, AW) on debut 39 days ago, possibly needing the run. Down in trip. Probably did not achieve a great deal when well-held third on recent debut. |

13/2(+35%) | (4) Wadacre Giorgio 13/2, Twice-raced maiden. 20/1, last of 5 in novice at Chester (10.3f, soft) 28 days ago. Better on AW on debut and probably one to look out for when handicapping. Caught the eye making late headway on debut but struggled on his second start. |

6th (2) (1/1 +50%) Show Biz Kid |
1/1(+50%) | (2) Show Biz Kid 1/1, Fairly useful maiden. 11/2, creditable third of 9 in handicap at Nottingham (8.3f, good) 136 days ago. That is good form (first and second won next time). Gelded after and left Richard Hannon. Bold bid expected for new yard. Signed off for Richard Hannon with good handicap third in June; contender on stable debut. |

7th (7) (250/1 -150%) Red Shamrock |
250/1(-150%) | (7) Red Shamrock 250/1, Well held in bumper recently. Well beaten when 300-1 for a recent bumper; cannot be recommended on this Flat debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
CORUNDUM was far from disgraced in fourth behind some progressive rivals at Southwell and the drop in grade can work the oracle. Lucy Wadham's runner shaped as if this extra yardage could suit when third over 1m at the same venue on his penultimate start and he makes most appeal. The biggest danger might come in the form of Show Biz Kid, who ran well when beaten less than two lengths in a Nottingham handicap, while significant improvement can be expected from His Finest Hour on his second start.
The form of SHOW BIZ KID's third at Nottingham in June has worked out and he can make a winning start for new connections. Corundum is feared most.
This can go to CORUNDUM, who faced a tough task when fourth at Southwell last time and is better judged on his earlier third there.

Plenty of Irish 2,000 Guineas entrants populate this field. CADOGAN ran a stormer when pipped by a short head on debut at the Curragh in May. The horse who beat him has since landed a pair of Group 2 contests, so the form is very strong. He encounters very different ground, but his sire's progeny are showing themselves to be ground-versatile. Wild Sapphire came home strongly for third at the Curragh this month and is a major player. Serengeti finished well to be a close sixth after losing his place in the same race and looks sure to come on from that opening effort, while Game Point is a debutant worth a market check.
Aidan O'Brien's SERENGETI really caught the eye when a running-on debut sixth at the Curragh two weeks ago and looks ready to take a big step forward now so he can edge out form-choice Cadogan, who might have to settle for runner-up spot once more. Wild Sapphire, Twain and Game Point appeal as the pick of the remainder for place purposes.
This can go the way of CADOGAN who chased home Henri Matisse on debut and the step up in trip on soft ground is likely to suit

4/1(-14%) | (1) Aworkinprogress 4/1, Left previous form well behind when making second handicap start a winning one at Fontwell in March. Not seen since but has a background in points and this even stiffer test is in his favour. Unexposed and forged clear to win over 2m5f at Fontwell in March; up 6lb. |

2nd (3) (11/1 +8%) The Scorpion King |
11/1(+8%) | (3) The Scorpion King 11/1, Off the mark in a Fontwell handicap in March, though success looked unlikely for a long way, and he again raced lazily when only fourth at Hereford next time. Returns from 6 months off. Didn't look an easy ride when winning by 4l at Fontwell and again when fourth next time. |

3rd (12) (12/1 -33%) Northern Reel |
12/1(-33%) | (12) Northern Reel 12/1, Irish point winner who is yet to fire under Rules but has a basement mark and showed a bit more when seventh on chasing debut in a handicap at Uttoxeter 13 days ago. Not long with this yard and shouldn't be ruled out. A 12l defeat last time at Uttoxeter (3m, good) wasn't too shoddy an effort. |

4th (11) (40/1 -43%) Jukebox D'eddy |
40/1(-43%) | (11) Jukebox D'eddy 40/1, Modest maiden hurdler who is yet to offer anything over fences. Something to prove. Modest maiden over hurdles and has yet to raise his profile as a chaser (0-3). |

5th (5) (5/1 -25%) Supasunrise |
5/1(-25%) | (5) Supasunrise 5/1, Creditable second of 13 in handicap chase (9/1) at Southwell (20.4f, good to firm) 16 days ago. Well treated, has a fitness edge on most, and hails from an in-form yard, so boasts strong claims. Both wins over 2m4f but stays this far and ran well after wind surgery 16 days ago. |

6th (8) (22/1 -10%) Faitque De L'isle |
22/1(-10%) | (8) Faitque De L'isle 22/1, Well handicapped on old form hasn't been seen since being pulled up on final outing for Michael Scudamore 11 months ago. Hard to make a case for. Has got himself well handicapped and in same ownership despite moving yards. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (9/4 +55%) River Voyage |
9/4(+55%) | (4) River Voyage 9/4, Winning Irish pointer who only showed a modest level of form over hurdles but is the type to do better in this sphere and returns with his yard in good order. A weakener in all his hurdles (2m4f-3m) but chasing could be the making of him. |

|PU| (10) (10/1 -43%) Boys Of Wexford |
10/1(-43%) | (10) Boys Of Wexford 10/1, Modest chaser who ended the last campaign in good order. Well treated on his very best efforts but stable hasn't started firing yet. Surprising to see no cheekpieces as they worked well on his final three starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (12/1 -9%) Martalmix'jac |
12/1(-9%) | (6) Martalmix'jac 12/1, Course winner. Pulled up in handicap chase at Huntingdon (23.6f, soft, 17/2). Off 7 months. Likely to need the run. Pulled up when last seen in March but mostly in good form since the cheekpieces went on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (25/1 +0%) Kilkeaskin Molly |
25/1(+0%) | (9) Kilkeaskin Molly 25/1, Unreliable sort who remains a maiden after 24 goes. Returned from a huge absence with a respectable run over hurdles at Worcester 48 days ago but hard to know if he'll build on that over fences for the first time. Fair recent run back from a mammoth absence but one to watch on chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (13) (28/1 +44%) Fast Deal |
28/1(+44%) | (13) Fast Deal 28/1, Scored at Stratford (27.5f) in April but arrives well below form, down the field at Market Rasen three weeks ago. Likely to struggle. Sole win came here earlier this year (3m3f) but returns in no sort of form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (14) (66/1 +0%) Doyens De Ante |
66/1(+0%) | (14) Doyens De Ante 66/1, Landed back-to-back wins in spring 2023 but has lost the plot since. Won two chases in early 2023 but he's suffered a major slump in form. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
SUPASUNRISE bounced back to form on his first start after wind surgery when finishing runner-up behind a subsequent winner on his seasonal reappearance over an extended 2m4f at Southwell earlier this month. That effort should have teed him up perfectly for this and, having only been nudged up 1lb, a bold bid looks likely. Aworkinprogress scored comfortably over hurdles at Fontwell in March and would be foolish to ignore stepping up in trip on his chasing bow. Boys Of Wexford is noted too.
SUPASUNRISE added to his stable's excellent form with a positive return when second at Southwell recently. That form has been boosted by the winner since, so he's fancied to go one better. Chasing debutants Aworkinprogress and River Voyage are both of interest, too.
A good few with chances but BOYS OF WEXFORD is a winner waiting to happen off his mark.

1st (3) (9/4 -50%) Korinthia |
9/4(-50%) | (3) Korinthia 9/4, Won 13-runner bumper (9/4) at Wexford (16f, good to soft) on NH debut 73 days ago. More to come and should maintain her unbeaten record. Unexposed, had Amboyna 3.5l behind when winning on debut, could be the one to beat. |

2nd (2) (6/1 -20%) Amboyna |
6/1(-20%) | (2) Amboyna 6/1, 6/5, didn't need to improve to win 7-runner bumper at Tramore (16f, good to soft) 9 days ago, easily. This is a stiffer assignment but she's worthy of respect. Won easily at Tramore, has 3.5l to find with Korinthia but is improving, thereabouts again. |

3rd (4) (10/1 +29%) Cailin Deas |
10/1(+29%) | (4) Cailin Deas 10/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 50/1, tailed-off tenth of 13 to Aruntothequeen in listed bumper at Gowran (16f, good to soft) 15 days ago. Showed fair form prior to that and could bounce back down in grade. Placed in two bumpers this summer, outclassed on latest, each-way shout down in grade. |

4th (1) (4/6 +70%) Switch From Diesel |
4/6(+70%) | (1) Switch From Diesel 4/6, Respectable 19¼ lengths seventh of 12 to Redemption Day in Champion INH Flat Race at Punchestown (16.6f, good to soft, 66/1) 171 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Seamus Fahey. Solid claims. Runner-up in a Grade 2, best form is on yielding/soft, ground a concern on stable bow. |

5th (6) (200/1 -33%) Magical Lass |
200/1(-33%) | (6) Magical Lass 200/1, Eighth of 9 in bumper (150/1) at this C&D (heavy). Off 12 months. Up against it. Well beaten in all six starts in bumpers on a variety of ground, others more likely. |

6th (7) (200/1 -100%) Glossary |
200/1(-100%) | (7) Glossary 200/1, Once-raced maiden. 200/1, tenth of 11 in bumper at Down Royal (16.9f, good) on NH debut 50 days ago. Beat just one rival home when 200-1 on debut, an unlikely winner on that evidence. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
SWITCH FROM DIESEL had smart form for Seamus Fahey last season and can strike on seasonal debut for new trainer Ross O'Sullivan. The homebred daughter of Yeats was a winner just over a year ago at Tipperary and ran a cracker against smart geldings at Leopardstown last Christmas before finishing second in a Grade 2 mares' contest at the same venue in February. Korinthia had Amboyna over three lengths back in third when winning on debut at Wexford in August and is open to improvement. The consistent Amboyna was impressive in a weak contest at Tramore, while Cailin Deas was tailed off in Listed company last time having finished third to a pair of subsequent winners at Galway.
KORINTHIA represents a top yard and made a winning debut in comfortable fashion a couple of months ago, so she's likely to go in again at the possible expense of Switch From Diesel, who has achieved a good level of form. Amboyna is also considered.
KORINTHIA beat Amboyna by 3.5l at Wexford in August and she can uphold that form. She is narrowly preferred in an interesting race

2nd (6) (11/1 -10%) Harbour Vision |
11/1(-10%) | (6) Harbour Vision 11/1, 4-time C&D winner, including a division of this last year. 6/1, creditable fifth of 11 in handicap at this C&D 19 days ago. Good shout if able to dictate matters. Has recently emerged from a spell in the doldrums and can make a bold bid from the front. |

3rd (4) (13/2 -30%) We'renotreallyhere |
13/2(-30%) | (4) We'renotreallyhere 13/2, Latest win at Lingfield in August. 7/2, bit below form fifth of 12 in handicap at Chelmsford City (8f) 21 days ago, racing closer to pace than ideal. Blinkers back on. Good runs here in the past and likely to go well. Ran well in defeat over C&D two starts ago; obvious each-way claims if judged on that. |

4th (3) (4/1 +38%) Hitched |
4/1(+38%) | (3) Hitched 4/1, 12/1, good fifth of 11 in handicap at Lingfield (8f, AW) 58 days ago, shaping a bit better than the distance beaten suggests. Won a division of this last year and 1 lb lower now. Got to be of interest after latest effort. Ran okay at Lingfield last time; now 1lb lower than when winning this race in 2023. |

5th (5) (10/1 -54%) Apache Canyon |
10/1(-54%) | (5) Apache Canyon 10/1, 16/1, good third of 12 in handicap at this course (9.5f) 14 days ago. 0-6 but placed off today's mark on last two outings; may yet have a bigger run in him. |

7th (2) (13/2 -8%) Outrace |
13/2(-8%) | (2) Outrace 13/2, Fifteen runs since last win in 2023. Creditable third of 11 in handicap at this course (9.5f, 6/1) 5 days ago. Firm player if building on that. Sound effort when third over 9.4f here on Monday; remains on good mark; good chance. |

8th (11) (7/1 +18%) Hey Big Spender |
7/1(+18%) | (11) Hey Big Spender 7/1, 15/8 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, bit disappointing when fourth of 7 in handicap at Chepstow (8.1f, good to firm) 47 days ago. Makes tapeta debut. Blinkers back on. 0-7 on turf; needs to find something extra on this AW debut. |

9th (9) (13/2 +7%) Miss Dandylion |
13/2(+7%) | (9) Miss Dandylion 13/2, 25/1, good third of 9 in handicap at Southwell (8.1f) 11 days ago, nearest finish while looking rather hard work. Could make presence felt. 0-8 now but did not get the best of runs when keeping-on third at Southwell recently. |

12th (12) (100/1 -150%) Bitcoin Profit |
100/1(-150%) | (12) Bitcoin Profit 100/1, C&D winner. 33/1, last of 12 in handicap at this course (9.5f) 88 days ago. Suffered major slump in form after C&D win in April; back from three-month break today. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
OUTRACE rediscovered some form off this mark of 60 - 9lb below his last winning figure - when third over the extended 1m1f here and a repeat of that effort would see him thereabouts. Richard Hannon's colt should benefit from the drop in trip, and Tyrese Cameron's 7lb claim looks to be a positive too. Jez Bomb had excuses for his sixth as favourite over 1m2f at Beverley and a return to the track where he scored on his previous start means he commands respect. We'renotreallyhere and Apache Canyon head the remainder.
HITCHED and Harbour Vision won the 2 divisions of this last year and are of real interest again, particularly David Simcock's charge who is 1 lb lower and caught the eye at Lingfield 8 weeks ago. We'renotreallyhere and Outrace are also in the mix.
Top of the list is OUTRACE, who got back on track with a good effort over 9.4f here on Monday and remains well handicapped.

5/1(-25%) | (2) Montpellier Green 5/1, 10/1, career best when winning 16-runner nursery at the Curragh (7f, good to soft) 20 days ago by ½ length from Desmond Castle, always holding on. Leading contender. Won a 7f nursery at the Curragh; up 9lb but top claimer takes over so has to be respected. |

4th (6) (15/2 +6%) Runninsonofagun |
15/2(+6%) | (6) Runninsonofagun 15/2, Lightly-raced winner. Winner at Navan in August. 2/1, respectable third of 12 in nursery at Down Royal (7.1f, good to firm) 43 days ago. Beaten 7l in a Down Royal nursery over 7f last time; has to do better off the same mark. |

5th (4) (11/4 +31%) Desmond Castle |

7th (1) (6/1 -200%) Medici Venus |
6/1(-200%) | (1) Medici Venus 6/1, Fairly useful form 15/8, career best when winning 5-runner minor event at Listowel (8f, good to soft) 25 days ago. Stable in good form. Makes handicap debut. Likely to continue in form. Won a Listowel maiden over this trip; should run a big race once handling this soft ground. |

9th (7) (33/1 -106%) Shocker |
33/1(-106%) | (7) Shocker 33/1, 13/2, below form fifth of 12 in maiden claimer at Naas (8f, good to firm) 30 days ago. Second in maidens earlier in the season but was poor in a nursery and claimer lately. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Joseph O'Brien's DESMOND CASTLE came with a barnstorming run in the Curragh, but wandered in the closing stages and finished second. He is a work in progress and the ground will be an unknown, but he clearly has an engine. Medici Venus has to give plenty of weight away, but her form has a solid look to it. She made the breakthrough in Listowel and there could be more to come from her. O'Brien's Montpellier Green was the horse who beat Desmond Castle by half a length in the Curragh so he merits automatic respect. Yamal could respond to blinkers, while Faoladh shouldn't be discounted in the first-time tongue-strap.
There should be more to come from MONTPELLIER GREEN on the back of his Curragh defeat of Desmond Castle and he can make light of a 9 lb rise. His reopposing stablemate may give him most to think about again, ahead of last month's Listowel scorer Medici Venus.
Montpellier Green beat stablemate DESMOND CASTLE in a 7f Curragh nursery last time but the latter can take revenge.

16/1(-14%) | (9) Reputation 16/1, Eleven runs since last win in 2023. Solid fourth of 9 in handicap at this C&D (16/1) 19 days ago, needing stronger gallop. Looks competitive on form. Last two AW runs have both offered some encouragement; others still preferred for the win. |

3rd (4) (7/2 +53%) Twilight Dancer |
7/2(+53%) | (4) Twilight Dancer 7/2, Winless since the spring but she comes here in very good nick, a fading fourth of 7 in 1m handicap at Lingfield (AW) 35 days ago. Expected to be bang there back to her optimum trip. Better on turf but handicapped accordingly; creditable runs at Lingfield the last twice. |

4/1(+20%) | (2) Monsieur Patat 4/1, C&D winner. 12/1, creditable seventh of 13 in handicap at Kempton (7f) 33 days ago, finding less than looked likely. Can still give a good account. 3-7 since joining this yard; fully effective over C&D; more appealing than most. |

10th (7) (25/1 -25%) Beauzon |
25/1(-25%) | (7) Beauzon 25/1, A 5-time course winner but below par of late, though not knocked about when thirteenth of 14 in handicap (100/1) at Kempton (7f) 8 days ago. Worth a market check off a reduced mark. Rattled off a 6f four-timer here early in the year; quiet since returning from a break. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
EVOCATIVE SPARK has gradually come to hand since joining new connections and Monday's effort over track and trip when not beaten far into fourth gave the impression that a victory may be just around the corner. The five-year-old is narrowly preferred to C&D winner Guiteau and Monsieur Patat, who was a determined winner here over 6f on his penultimate outing but has also tasted C&D success. Twilight Dancer has the form to get involved in proceedings as well.
Lots with chances but TWILIGHT DANCER should prove suited by this return to 7f so is fancied to resume winning ways at the chief expense of Ruth Carr's in-form veteran Reputation. Souffionne, Monsieur Patat and Evocative Spark all need factoring into this open handicap too.
Monsieur Patat is high on the list but EVOCATIVE SPARK caught the eye here on Monday and is handicapped to win.

200/1(-506%) | (8) Ghasham 200/1, 150/1, eleventh of 12 in handicap at Kempton (11f) on recent return from 18-month absence. Needs to have come on a lot. Well held on recent return from long absence and can only be watched. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
ROSENZOO has put together an excellent record at this track during 2024 and a 1lb rise for his most recent second over slightly shorter here may not be enough to prevent him from getting his head in front again. A taking winner on her penultimate outing at Windsor, Warren Hill is another leading contender, along with unexposed handicap debutant Monsieur Fudge and Sandown third Drink Dry.
ROSENZOO has a win and 2 seconds to show from his 3 previous visits here and might be able to resume winning ways. Roger Varian's Warren Ways was better than the result at Windsor last time and is second choice ahead of unexposed handicap newcomer Monsieur Fudge.
Charlie Johnston's ROSENZOO can enhance his good Wolverhampton record. Fellow 3yo Monsieur Fudge may give him most to do.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
An upwardly-mobile three-year-old in the height of summer, SALAMANCA LAD's progress stalled briefly but his most recent effort at Sandown over further was highly encouraging and a mark of 78 still looks workable. A determined winner over C&D last time out, Visibility can give the selection the most to think about, while Fast Steps is now just 1lb above his last success in July so has to be considered too.
CHARLIE'S CHOICE looks back on a workable mark returned to AW and might be worth siding with on his return from a short break. Visibility's recent record is hard to knock and he's second choice ahead of Salamanca Lad.
A chance is taken on ERNIE'S VALENTINE whose recent form-figures look uninspiring but who shaped with some promise last time.

20/1(-11%) | (10) Impeach 20/1, Eleven runs since last win in 2023. 16/1, respectable sixth of 11 in handicap at Chelmsford City (6f) 16 days ago. Merits consideration. Unplaced three times since a near miss at Salisbury in July; no obvious excuses on latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (18/1 -80%) Not Just Yet |
18/1(-80%) | (7) Not Just Yet 18/1, One win from 21 Flat runs. Fifteen runs since last win in 2023. 13/2, fifth of 6 in handicap at this course (7.2f) 44 days ago. Chance on old form. Easily best effort for current yard when beaten neck over C&D in August; not ruled out. |

8th (3) (3/1 +33%) Walking On Clouds |
3/1(+33%) | (3) Walking On Clouds 3/1, Twelve runs since last win in 2023. Seventh of 11 in handicap (16/1) at this course (5.1f) 82 days ago. Chance if rediscovering old form. Thrown in on best form but little promise this year; watch the market. |

9th (4) (5/1 +50%) Doctor Vuby |
5/1(+50%) | (4) Doctor Vuby 5/1, Hooded for 1st time, tenth of 12 in handicap (33/1) at Catterick (6f, firm) 61 days ago. Enters calculations if shrugging off latest effort. Well held on turf last four starts; gelding op and return to AW could spark a revival. |

10th (11) (18/1 -100%) Bomb Squad |
18/1(-100%) | (11) Bomb Squad 18/1, Consistent sort who scored at Southwell (6f) last summer. Shaped as if needing the run after 10 months off when 11th in handicap (28/1) at Leicester (6f, heavy) 11 days ago. This C&D winner is expected to be bang there with that run under his belt. C&D winner; needs to have come on a good deal for belated reappearance. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
ARLECCHINO'S GIFT recorded his fourth success over C&D when scoring with a bit left in the locker last month. The five-year-old can launch another strong challenge, despite a 3lb rise, given today's rivals fail to inspire much confidence. Not Just Yet was narrowly beaten over track and trip in between moderate efforts over 7f and may get involved. Doctor Vuby returns to Tapeta 9lb lower than when runner-up here back in February and has a shout on that form.
BOMB SQUAD looked rusty after a lay-off when a recent 11th at Leicester and is fancied to take a big step forward now and bag a second C&D success. Saffredi has started out well for his new handler and could emerge as the main danger to John Mackie's reliable sort with course-specialist Arlecchino's Gift and in-form Vape also in the picture.
The solid contender is ARLECCHINO'S GIFT whose C&D win six weeks ago has been working out well.

1st (5) (9/2 +31%) Street Life |
9/2(+31%) | (5) Street Life 9/2, C&D winner. Respectable fifth of 9 in handicap at Southwell (5f, 11/1) 2 days ago. Not completely dismissed. Conditions fine and in fair form; behind Papa Don't Preach at Southwell on Thursday. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (11/2 +0%) Spanish Angel |
11/2(+0%) | (3) Spanish Angel 11/2, 3-time C&D winner. 13/2, fifth of 8 in handicap at this C&D 12 days ago, never nearer. Cheekpieces back on. Respected. Handicapped to win and in better form than his numbers suggest; could do with a good pace. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (14/1 +13%) Banana |
14/1(+13%) | (8) Banana 14/1, Remains a maiden after 34 Flat runs. Seventh of 10 in handicap (16/1) at this course (6.1f) 14 days ago. Hard to make a strong case for. Exposed 34-race maiden; probably happier over 6f; best watched once again. |

4th (1) (11/10 0%) Papa Don't Preach |
11/10(0%) | (1) Papa Don't Preach 11/10, C&D winner. Latest win at Chelmsford City in October. Respectable third of 9 in handicap at Southwell (5f, 11/8) 2 days ago. Worth chancing even despite the quick turnaround. Easy win at Chelmsford last week; solid third at Southwell on Thursday; strong contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (33/1 -136%) Mr Trick |
33/1(-136%) | (4) Mr Trick 33/1, Course winner. 50/1, last of 9 in handicap at Catterick (5f, soft) 17 days ago, inadequate test. Would be better off over further, so best watched. On a good mark but the suitability of 5f remains questionable (last win over 1m2f). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (7/1 +7%) Macarone |
7/1(+7%) | (2) Macarone 7/1, 10/3 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, ninth of 12 in handicap at Beverley (5f, good to soft) 25 days ago. Had been in reasonable form prior to that, so could bounce back. Two wins as a 2yo; yet to strike this year but down the weights and this isn't competitive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (33/1 +0%) Marinakis |
33/1(+0%) | (7) Marinakis 33/1, 33/1, last of 12 in handicap at Kempton (6f) 17 days ago. Others make more appeal. Unplaced all eight starts over further; not easily recommended. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (25/1 -108%) Zeno |
25/1(-108%) | (6) Zeno 25/1, Winner at Lingfield in September. 11/1, seventh of 8 in handicap at this C&D 26 days ago. Others preferred. Narrowly won four-runner race at Lingfield last month (5f, AW); well held over C&D since. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
SPANISH ANGEL has won five times on Tapeta, with four of those victories coming at this venue. Now 5lb lower than when last successful here back in May, it could be the turn of Ruth Carr's sprinter once again. Zeno spoilt his chance when veering leaving the stalls here last time, although he won at Lingfield before that and is only 2lb higher. Course regular Banana has placed off today's mark on several occasions.
PAPA DON'T PREACH won in good style at Chelmsford in October and backed it up with a solid third at Southwell just two days ago, so he's worth a chance to resume winning ways in a thin race despite the quick turnaround. Spanish Angel and Street Life may prove the biggest threats.
With doubts surrounding many of the field, this may be best left to PAPA DON'T PREACH. Macarone can chase him home.

1st (7) (28/1 -133%) Seraphic |
28/1(-133%) | (7) Seraphic 28/1, 15/2, added to a patchy record when last of 10 in handicap at Kempton (11f) 4 weeks ago. Went close at Windsor on penultimate start, so not a completely forlorn hope. Ran a big race on turf two starts ago but well beaten on AW since; too unreliable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (7/2 +42%) Delta Legend |
7/2(+42%) | (2) Delta Legend 7/2, 8/1, creditable third of 6 in handicap at Chelmsford City (14f) 9 days ago, well positioned. Liable to be on the premises again. Largely consistent at up to 1m6f since 1m win on stable debut in June. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (9/2 -13%) Pysanka |
9/2(-13%) | (1) Pysanka 9/2, Creditable second of 7 in handicap (13/2) at this C&D 19 days ago, no match for winner. Should give another good account. Returned from a break with three good runs last month, the most notable a clearcut C&D win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (10/3 +39%) Sea Of Charm |
10/3(+39%) | (6) Sea Of Charm 10/3, C&D winner. Latest win here in September. 13/8, creditable 3¼ lengths fifth of 9 to Renoir in handicap here 14 days ago. Can turn the tables with that rival if the race is truly run. Led close home for narrow C&D win last month but has a modest strike-rate. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (10/1 +9%) Major Major |
10/1(+9%) | (4) Major Major 10/1, Tenth of 13 in handicap (22/1) at Bath (13f, soft) 18 days ago. Not firing but may come on for latest effort. Suited by this C&D and lurks on a dangerous mark but has more to prove than some. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (16/1 -33%) Golden Delite |
16/1(-33%) | (5) Golden Delite 16/1, Tenth of 12 in handicap (20/1) at Chelmsford City (8f) 7 days ago, slowly away. Significantly back up in trip. Has work to do. Nine-race maiden who has become disappointing this year; makes only limited appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (9/4 +25%) Renoir |
9/4(+25%) | (3) Renoir 9/4, Lightly-raced winner on Flat. 1 win from 3 runs this year. 7/1, career best when winning 9-runner handicap at this C&D 14 days ago, well positioned. Lightly raced 5yo who opened account with emphatic C&D win a fortnight ago; major player. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
RENOIR was having only his second outing in a handicap when returning a cosy winner over C&D. He may well prove ahead of the handicapper on that evidence and the unexposed five-year-old is taken to reverse earlier running with Pysanka. The latter won here in September, although he found one too good back at this venue subsequently and Delta Legend makes more appeal off his current mark.
SEA OF CHARM has a solid record at the track and, although behind Renoir last time, the winner was much better positioned and he's fancied to reverse the form. Pysanka arrives in good order and should give his all again.
Low-mileage 5yo RENOIR (nap) opened his account with a good C&D win a fortnight ago and has plenty of scope for further progress.
Ths is the racecard key.
