5/1(+50%) | (2) Clever Minded 5/1, Twice-raced maiden. 6/1, sixth of 15 in bumper at Galway (16.7f, good to soft) 41 days ago. Tongue strap enlisted for this hurdles debut and she could have a part to play if her jumping passes the test. Promise in Galway bumper on debut, dam well-related, worth a market check; tongue tied. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (50/1 +0%) Broomfield Gale |
50/1(+0%) | (1) Broomfield Gale 50/1, Modest hurdler. 100/1, fifth of 7 in novice hurdle at Clonmel (19.9f, good) 17 days ago. 0-10 under Rules, moderate form since decent run in a Tramore bumper, others more likely. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

22/1(+33%) | (10) Biddynora 22/1, Shantou filly. Dam 17f hurdle/chase winner in France. Entitled to come on for the run. Nicely bred Shantou filly, cheaply bought, trainer respected at this track, check market. |

200/1(-33%) | (13) Midnight Eagle 200/1, Twice-raced maiden. 100/1, pulled up in bumper at Listowel (16f, soft) 23 days ago, losing touch before halfway. Makes hurdles debut. No impact in two bumpers, tailed off and pulled up, hard to fancy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (12) (66/1 -100%) Chapter Thirty |
66/1(-100%) | (12) Chapter Thirty 66/1, Thrice-raced maiden under Rules. Fourth of 8 in novice hurdle at Killarney (17f, soft, 100/1) 14 days ago. Needs to take a sizeable step forward. Best run to date on latest at 100-1 but still beaten 16.5l, probably needs more to win. |

200/1(-33%) | (7) Restless Lady 200/1, Twice-raced maiden. 250/1, tenth of 14 in novice hurdle at Clonmel (16.5f, heavy). Off 9 months and she's hard to fancy. Huge odds and well-beaten both starts over hurdles, different ground now but hard to fancy. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
BLUE MOSQUE is a half-sister to her trainer's two black-type performers Sixshooter and She's A Star and showed plenty ability in winning on debut last April. She debuts over jumps today but that Naas form is working out well with the third, fifth and seventh-placed horses scoring subsequently while the previously point-to-point-placed runner-up had been well touted. Ma Bess was beaten 39 lengths in a recent Listed bumper but had previously shown better form. A point-to-point winner, she defeated two subsequent dual winners when scoring at Wexford and is forgiven a below-par hurdling debut run at that track in late August as she blundered badly at the first flight. Bumper winner Miss Dishy has recent form and can place.
BLUE MOSQUE got on top close home when making a winning start to her career in a Naas bumper and, with with the strong possibility of better to come from this 4-y-o now tackling hurdles, she gets the nod. Miss Dishy is the pick of those with experience in this sphere and she is clear second choice ahead of Ma Bess and Vadsa Queen.
BLUE MOSQUE is preferred. She won her bumper well, she is related to a couple of talented hurdlers and this looks a weakish race.

1st (1) (9/4 +25%) Model Approach |
9/4(+25%) | (1) Model Approach 9/4, Fairly useful maiden on Flat for Jim Bolger and has made a bright start to his hurdle career, confirming the promise of his opening Market Rasen third when making all by 19 lengths at Sedgefield 3 days later. Looks sure to go well. 3rd at Market Rasen; easily made all at 4-11 at Sedgefield (2m1f, good) three days later. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (7/1 -331%) Usuario Amigo |
7/1(-331%) | (5) Usuario Amigo 7/1, Pretty useful on the Flat, getting off the mark in a 7f Brighton maiden last month. Raced keenly in cheekpieces on that occasion and they are replaced by a hood now hurdling. Stamina not assured. The clear best of these (pretty useful) on Flat form, albeit over just 7f/1m; now hooded. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (11/2 +15%) Justice Roll |
11/2(+15%) | (4) Justice Roll 11/2, Fair on the Flat in France, winning a 13f maiden at Chateaubriant (good to soft) in June. The betting should help guide to expectations now hurdling. Wore cheekpieces when winning a maiden at Chateaubriant (1m5f, soft) in June last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (1/1 +71%) Cracker Star |
1/1(+71%) | (3) Cracker Star 1/1, Fairly useful 1½m Flat winner for Richard Hughes. Interesting hurdle debutant for in-form Harry Derham. Carries his rather head high but fair Flat form for R Hughes and is tongue tied first time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (80/1 -60%) Jalea's Quest |
80/1(-60%) | (6) Jalea's Quest 80/1, Modest maiden on Flat (stays 11.5f). Likely outsider on hurdle debut. Modest maiden at best in her six-race Flat career, second in 11.4f handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (66/1 -65%) Charles Morin |
66/1(-65%) | (2) Charles Morin 66/1, Modest handicapper on Flat (stays 1½m) who doesn't strike as an obvious one to make a winning start over hurdles. Modest Flat form, winning over 1m1f and running respectably over various trips since. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Model Approach took a big step forward from his first start over hurdles when bolting up at Sedgefield earlier in the month and he should mount a serious challenge, despite his 6lb penalty. However, the vote goes to USUARIO AMIGO, who is rated the highest of these on the Flat and shed his maiden tag at Brighton last time. If he can transfer that ability to the smaller obstacles, he could be the one to beat. Cracker Star completes the shortlist.
MODEL APPROACH was impressive at Sedgefield and is taken to put his experience to good use. The chief threat may come from Harry Derham's Cracker Star as there have to be slight doubts about the talented Usuario Amigo staying the trip over hurdles.
Sedgefield winner Model Approach has the considerable advantage of hurdle-race experience but CRACKER STAR is tentatively preferred.

1st (8) (1/3 +76%) Finsceal Luas |
1/3(+76%) | (8) Finsceal Luas 1/3, Fairly useful filly. Remains a maiden after 8 Flat runs. 2/1, creditable second of 11 in maiden at Naas (7f, good to soft) 8 days ago, clear of rest. Back up in trip. Sets the bar pretty high. Return to this trip to suit and possibly her best chance yet. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (5/1 -50%) Molto Amichi |
5/1(-50%) | (3) Molto Amichi 5/1, €8,000 2-y-o, Caravaggio gelding. Dam, 1½m winner, half-sister to very smart winner up to 2m (stayed 2½m) Patkai. Promising third of 14 in maiden (100/1) at Punchestown (9.2f, good) on debut 33 days ago, nearest finish. Should improve. Promising recent Punchestown debut over this trip; seems sure to improve from that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (25/1 -213%) Auburn Avenue |
25/1(-213%) | (6) Auburn Avenue 25/1, Fair filly. 9/2, below form fourth of 12 in maiden at Naas (8f, good to soft) 8 days ago. Fair form in maidens and handicaps although will do well to make the frame. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (11/1 -38%) Duchess Wannabe |
11/1(-38%) | (7) Duchess Wannabe 11/1, Twice-raced filly. Fifth of 11 in maiden (18/1) at Naas (8f, good). Off 116 days. Promise on both runs in decent maidens in early summer; one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (12/1 -20%) Woodlander |
12/1(-20%) | (5) Woodlander 12/1, Profitable gelding. Half-brother to 3 winners, including useful 6f winner Wood Ranger and 2-y-o 5f winner Dandys Ocean. Dam 2-y-o 5f winner. Related to winners over shorter; market likely best guide on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (250/1 -150%) Kalash |
250/1(-150%) | (2) Kalash 250/1, Twice-raced gelding. 150/1, tenth of 12 in maiden at Naas (8f, good to soft) 8 days ago. Towards the rear in recent maidens at Killarney and Navan; eligible for a mark after this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (125/1 -150%) Baba Sue |
125/1(-150%) | (1) Baba Sue 125/1, Moohaajim gelding. Dam placed at 6f-1m out of winning half-sister to useful 1½m-1¾m winner (stayed 2m) Shu Lewis. 5yo best watched on belated debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
MOLTO AMICHI was an unconsidered 100/1 chance when making a very promising debut over this trip at Punchestown last month. The Eoin Griffin-trained gelding showed plenty of inexperience before keeping on into third behind Ard Na Mara and looks sure to progress with that run under his belt. Finsceal Luas appears versatile in terms of ground conditions and is the obvious threat. She filled the runner-up spot for the third time this season at Naas last weekend, but is proving expensive to follow. Duchess Wannabe has scope for further improvement, while any market move for Woodlander would be significant.
A good opportunity for FINSCEAL LUAS to finally get off the mark. Molto Amichi belied market weakness when a promising third at Punchestown on debut and is the obvious threat.
A weak maiden for the venue and seemingly the best chance yet for the superbly-bred FINSCEAL LUAS to get a winning bracket

1st (3) (7/2 +50%) Zwicky |
7/2(+50%) | (3) Zwicky 7/2, Multiple hurdles winner last year and positive start in this sphere when 3 lengths third in a Hexham handicap in May. Failed to complete on his second go over fences there the following month but worth another chance. Unseated latest; even with a clear round, he might now find this trip on the sharp side. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (11/2 +15%) Goodtimes Badtimes |
11/2(+15%) | (5) Goodtimes Badtimes 11/2, Modest winner at 24f over hurdles and similar form 3 starts over fences this summer, though not seen since being treated for post-race heat stress in July. On a workable mark in this sphere. Chases May-July last three starts, showing enough on last two occasions to warrant respect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (5/1 -43%) Tom Creen |
5/1(-43%) | (1) Tom Creen 5/1, Back-to-back winner here last season, including on comeback in this race. Held form well after and excuses on final run. Should go well. All four wins over fences were at Sedgefield, including this race last year; strong player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (11/4 +50%) Faha Belle |
11/4(+50%) | (4) Faha Belle 11/4, Irish point winner who often gives her running but is 0-12 under Rules. Should make a chaser at least. Minor honours in handicap hurdles; needs to find extra on this chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (16/1 -14%) The Paddy Pie |
16/1(-14%) | (6) The Paddy Pie 16/1, Hinted at a revival when fourth of 12 in a Doncaster handicap in December but followed that with 3 heavy defeats. Others preferred. Thrown in on old chase form but last win was December 2022; bits of form in last 18 months. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (20/1 +29%) Buck Of Maine |
20/1(+29%) | (9) Buck Of Maine 20/1, Maiden who made no impression at Stratford last time and is up against it from out of the handicap. 13-race maiden; 8lb out of the handicap today, with different headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (8) (33/1 -18%) Chantilly Rose |
33/1(-18%) | (8) Chantilly Rose 33/1, No great shakes over hurdles and not much better in 2 starts over fences. Has since left Dan Skelton and opposable from out of the handicap. Eight-race maiden, last seven (two chases) for Dan Skelton; 5lb out of the handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (9/2 +36%) Swift Reply |
9/2(+36%) | (7) Swift Reply 9/2, Poor maiden hurdler who needs to improve for the switch to fences to make an impact (unseated on his only start in points). Second here in January and back-to-form second at Kelso two weeks ago; this is chase debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
All four of TOM CREEN's previous wins under Rules were posted at this venue, including a dominant display when he landed this race 12 months ago. Mainly consistent in subsequent starts, a 13lb higher mark does demand more of the Sam England-trained gelding, but this circuit can take some mastering and his expertise creates hope for another big run. Fellow course winner Zwicky is feared most, although Jac Jumper has shown promise in this discipline and should find the trip well within his compass.
JAC JUMPER was run out of things only late on at Worcester last time and is taken to hold on this time back down in class. The likeable Tom Creen made a winning return in this race last year so is an obvious threat, while Zwicky is worth another chance to build on his chase bow.
While Goodtimes Badtimes and Jac Jumper should get seriously involved, the safest option for win purposes may be TOM CREEN.

1st (1) (5/2 +82%) Ballybrittas |
5/2(+82%) | (1) Ballybrittas 5/2, Once-raced maiden under Rules. 14/1, fifth of 12 in novice hurdle at Ballinrobe (16.8f, good to soft) on NH debut 69 days ago. This dual point winner will be an each-way player here if able to build on that. Won twice in points for Caroline McCaldin, likely to improve from a Ballinrobe run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (14/1 +79%) Cascade Hall |
14/1(+79%) | (2) Cascade Hall 14/1, Once-raced maiden. Ninth of 15 in novice hurdle at Cork (18.4f, good to soft, 14/1) on NH debut 76 days ago. Dropped away from three out after almost losing his footing on debut at Cork in August. |

9/4(+97%) | (12) On Your Way 9/4, Lightly-raced maiden. Ninth of 16 in novice hurdle (66/1) at Listowel (18f, soft) 23 days ago, not knocked about. Sizeable step forward needed. Modest form last season, big price when a remote ninth on seasonal return at Listowel. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (17/2 +89%) Ifyouaskme |
17/2(+89%) | (7) Ifyouaskme 17/2, Out of an unraced half-sister to fairly useful hurdler/fair chaser (2½m-2¾m winner) Sunami Storm and fair hurdler/fairly useful chaser (stayed 3m) Future All Star. Entitled to come on for the run. Half-brother to the talented The Jukebox Man, makes belated debut at the age of eight. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (16) (16/1 +60%) Wee Aloysius |
16/1(+60%) | (16) Wee Aloysius 16/1, Once-raced maiden. Eighth of 11 in novice hurdle at Listowel (16f, soft, 16/1) on NH debut 24 days ago. Never in contention first time out at the Listowel festival, best watched at present. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (8/1 +88%) Healdsburg |
8/1(+88%) | (4) Healdsburg 8/1, Once-raced maiden. 18/1, fifth of 12 in bumper at Listowel (20f, soft) on NH debut 25 days ago. Will need to leave that form well behind if he's to make a winning hurdles debut. Failed to complete in two starts in points, may improve from a fair bumper run at Listowel. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (13) (25/1 +69%) Shanroe Nancy |
25/1(+69%) | (13) Shanroe Nancy 25/1, €17,000 3-y-o, Rule of Law gelding. Dam, modest maiden hurdler, half-sister to useful hurdler/chaser (stayed 25f) Geordie des Champs. Chances are he'll come on for the run. Third foal, dam placed over hurdles, half-sister to two useful bumper/jumps winners. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (150/1 +25%) Like A Bumblebee |
150/1(+25%) | (9) Like A Bumblebee 150/1, Once-raced maiden. Pulled up in novice hurdle at Gowran (20.2f, good, 50/1) on NH debut 15 days ago, tailed off when pulled up after 3 out. 50-1 when pulled up on debut at Gowran, can be safely ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (8) (8/1 +90%) Ivasecret |
8/1(+90%) | (8) Ivasecret 8/1, Fair Flat winner. Twice-raced maiden over hurdles. 18/1, seventh of 9 in handicap at Dundalk (8f) 9 days ago, slowly away. Little impact both previous starts in this sphere. Five-time AW winner, also won at Laytown last month, struggled in two hurdle runs in 2023. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (19) (22/1 +45%) Opposite Ends |
22/1(+45%) | (19) Opposite Ends 22/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 150/1, tenth of 16 in novice hurdle at Listowel (18f, soft) 23 days ago. RESERVE. Reserve, modest form in maidens, more likely as a handicap prospect in due course. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
SPORTING GLORY is a lightly-raced eight-year-old but showed smart ability in his belated debut season and was sold last May as part of the Clipper Logistics dispersal sale, for 120,000 pounds. His bumper form is strong and having dipped his toe into late-season hurdling in a Fairyhouse Grade 2 last March, should now take the beating debuting for a new yard. Taponthego has been withdrawn from two recent maiden hurdles and while he is a notable runner on his debut for new connections, needs to be smart to beat the selection. Wrecking Ballbilly had good bumper form in 2023 but is probably best watched on his hurdles' debut following a 345-day layoff.
This looks ripe for SPORTING GLORY, who made it third time lucky in bumpers at Fairyhouse last season prior to a very promising hurdling debut in a Grade 2 at the same course. He makes his debut for the Gordon Elliott yard in far less exalted company and will likely prove hard to beat. Taponthego showed promise on his completed start in maiden points and is preferred to Wrecking Ballbilly for forecast purposes.
A late-developing bumper winner for Pat Fahy last season, SPORTING GLORY could be a cut above these rivals.

1st (2) (2/1 +43%) Idy Wood |
2/1(+43%) | (2) Idy Wood 2/1, Scored twice in novice hurdles last season, also twice making the placings in Grade 2 events across the season. Ended the campaign on a low-key note but he was an expensive purchase from the pointing field and it'd be no surprise if he made an equally useful chaser. Useful novice hurdler last season and looks well handicapped for this chasing debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (11/1 -100%) Lime Drop |
11/1(-100%) | (6) Lime Drop 11/1, Filled the runner-up spot on 4 of her first 5 starts over fences, though is still yet to fully convince with her jumping and wasn't quite at her best when last seen at Cheltenham on her final outing last term. Still shouldn't be ruled out in this company. Five-time hurdle winner who ran some good races in defeat during first season over fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (15/8 -36%) Alien Storm |
15/8(-36%) | (1) Alien Storm 15/8, Fairly useful sort over hurdles but surpassed that form at the first attempt over fences when winning a 5-runner handicap chase at Plumpton (17f, good) 28 days ago. Very much looked a natural there and is open to further improvement, an 8 lb rise unlikely to overburden him. Fairly useful hurdler who exploited a favourable mark to win on seasonal/chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (25/1 -108%) Lipa K |
25/1(-108%) | (3) Lipa K 25/1, Made a fine start over fences for his new yard when landing a pair of 2m4f Bangor handicaps but his jumping has proved a major issue since, again producing an error-strewn round at Sedgefield earlier this month. Cheekpieces go onn and could still feasibly treated if more fluent this time. Dual chase winner in spring but not much has gone to plan since; cheekpieces now added. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (10/3 +58%) Sun Joy |
10/3(+58%) | (5) Sun Joy 10/3, Opened account over hurdles at Huntingdon in January but seemed to find testing ground too much when pulled up at Exeter next time. Folded as if amiss at Punchestown after and he has something to proves switched to chasing for his comeback now. Hurdle winner in January; ended last season in poor form but comes here fresh; chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (4) (14/1 +30%) Diplomatic Ash |
14/1(+30%) | (4) Diplomatic Ash 14/1, Out of a half-sister to Minella Indo and made a promising start when placed both outings in novice hurdles. Disappointing in 2 handicaps subsequently, and he's probably worth a check in the betting switched to chasing after 7 months off. Well beaten in both handicap hurdles but can still get career back on track. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
ALIEN STORM made a strong impression when winning on chase debut at Plumpton last month and he might have plenty more to offer. Charlie Longsdon's six-year-old was given an 8lb rise for that success, which could prove to be on the lenient side. Idy Wood finished third in a Grade 2 event over hurdles at this venue in February and is an interesting contender on his first start over fences, while Lipa K is another to keep an eye on.
ALIEN STORM was a convincing winner at Plumpton on his chasing debut and Charlie Longsdon's gelding can build on that fluent performance to score again from an 8 lb higher mark. Idy Wood made the frame on both of his starts in points and is a respected chase newcomer, whilst Lime Drop showed enough last season to also prove competitive here.
Dual hurdle winner IDY WOOD is well handicapped for this chasing debut and has potential too. He gets the vote.

1st (5) (2/1 +11%) Norwalk Havoc |
2/1(+11%) | (5) Norwalk Havoc 2/1, Smart gelding. C&D winner. Latest win at Gowran in April. 14/1, creditable ninth of 31 in handicap at Newmarket (9f, good to soft) 22 days ago, left poorly placed. Expected to be bang there. Smart form in very competitive handicaps, acts on soft and well worth a shot at Listed. |

2nd (9) (3/1 +73%) Uncanny |
3/1(+73%) | (9) Uncanny 3/1, Upped his game when landing 12-runner maiden at Naas (8f, good to soft, 11/8) 8 days ago, driven clear. More required but worth a try at this level. Recent Naas maiden winner quite likely has more to offer but takes a big step up in grade. |

3rd (10) (33/1 +18%) Vasda |
33/1(+18%) | (10) Vasda 33/1, Fairly useful filly. Creditable 4 lengths sixth of 16 to Azada in listed race at Naas (8f, good to soft, 66/1) 7 days ago, faring best of those held up. Trainer going well. Beaten 4l in Naas Listed a week ago; more needed here to make the frame. |

5th (3) (7/1 +36%) Bright Stripes |
7/1(+36%) | (3) Bright Stripes 7/1, Useful colt. 14¼ lengths last of 9 to Bellezza in Diamond Stakes at Dundalk (10.7f, 8/1) 23 days ago. Back down in trip. Needs to bounce back. Tame AW debut effort since but claims on best form and acts on soft. |

6th (6) (28/1 +44%) Independent Expert |
28/1(+44%) | (6) Independent Expert 28/1, Useful mare. Bit below form 5½ lengths tenth of 16 to Azada in listed race at Naas (8f, good to soft, 28/1) 7 days ago. Can give a good account without posing serious threat to principals. Well held in Listed company latest and lots to find on ratings here. |

7th (1) (3/1 +0%) Power Under Me |
3/1(+0%) | (1) Power Under Me 3/1, Smart gelding. C&D winner. Didn't need to improve to win 14-runner Concorde Stakes at Tipperary (7.4f, soft, 15/2) 14 days ago by 1¼ lengths from Fleur De Chine, kept up to work. Not taken lightly. 2022 winner in fine form at Tipperary a fortnight ago; ground again to suit so big chance. |

8th (4) (16/1 -14%) Mundi |
16/1(-14%) | (4) Mundi 16/1, Lightly-raced winner. 4/1, 7¼ lengths sixth of 9 to Curvature in listed race at Listowel (9f, good to soft) 26 days ago, needing stiffer test. More required but needs respecting based on connections. Brother to Churchill has struggled since AW maiden win in April; hard to fancy. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
POWER UNDER ME relishes soft ground and gained a seventh career win at Tipperary last time. The Ger Lyons-trained gelding won this race in 2022 and appears as good as ever judged on that latest effort. Atlantic Coast also ticks plenty of boxes as he's very effective on this surface, has winning course form and also comes here on the back of a Listed win at Saint-Cloud earlier this month. Bright Stripes beat Norwalk Havoc on testing ground over a mile at the Curragh this spring, although Jessica Harrington's charge may now prove a greater threat having run well last time from a bad draw in the Cambridgeshire at Newmarket.
POWER UNDER has left the impression he may well be back to his best lately, in which case he's a major player. Atlantic Coast may do better still and Norwalk Havoc is of definite interest having been first home on the 'wrong' side in the Cambridgeshire.
Winner of this race in 2022, POWER UNDER ME showed himself to be in fine fettle at Tipperary recently and can go in again

30/100(+55%) | (1) Continuance 30/100, Fair 10f Flat winner who wasn't disgraced when eighth of 17 in handicap at York (10.2f, soft) 42 days ago. Goes hurdling now and rates a big player. 1m2f Flat winner (RPR 75); leading player if taking to hurdles at the first attempt. |

2nd (3) (50/1 +0%) Popa Rich |
50/1(+0%) | (3) Popa Rich 50/1, 125/1, sixth of 7 in juvenile hurdle over C&D (good) on his NH debut 19 days ago. Significantly more is required. Has a Flat pedigree and he was tailed off at 125-1 on recent debut over C&D (good). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (5/1 +17%) Path Of Stars |
5/1(+17%) | (5) Path Of Stars 5/1, Well beaten in an AW Flat maiden for the Crisford stable in May and first show in a trio of hurdling events when third of six in 2m1f Fontwell juvenile last time. Needs to build on it. Well beaten all 4 starts but has shown some ability and this may take very little winning. |

4th (4) (9/1 -227%) Sweet Soul Music |
9/1(-227%) | (4) Sweet Soul Music 9/1, A modest maiden at best on Flat but he failed to beat a rival in 1m Newcastle handicap 40 days ago. Possibilities on his debut in this sphere. Tailed off on both Flat runs this year but trainer does well with juvenile hurdlers. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (33/1 -32%) Delayed Charm |
33/1(-32%) | (2) Delayed Charm 33/1, Showed little form in noivces/handicap on Flat for Anthony Carson last winter. Sold for only 1,600 gns in July so need lots more now going hurdling. Displayed very little across his 4 Flat starts; may be best watched on hurdle/stable debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
CONTINUANCE achieved the highest rating of those to have raced on the Flat and is hardly overburdened for his debut run on the NH scene. The son of Postponed is forwarded as the first to consider in a race where the betting should be informative. Brian Ellison won this in 2019 with a hurdling newcomer and his Sweet Soul Music is next on the list for consideration. Path Of Stars and Popa Rich need steps forward, but should be taken seriously if attracting support.
Most of these arrive with a question mark against them so this looks a very good opportunity for Martin Keighley's fair Flat winner CONTINUANCE to make a winning start in this sphere. Sweet Soul Music appeals as the one to chase home the selection as he starts out hurdling ahead of Path of Stars.
This may take very little winning and Flat scorer CONTINUANCE earns the vote on his hurdle debut. Path Of Stars is second choice.

Looks vulnerable. Ground possibly too soft when falling on latest, these conditions will suit better, chance. |

2nd (1) (4/1 +71%) Dream In The Park |
4/1(+71%) | (1) Dream In The Park 4/1, First run since leaving Emma Lavelle when sixth of 8 in handicap hurdle at Listowel (20f, soft, 14/1) 22 days ago. Becoming well treated and therefore not completely ruled out. Ground too soft on stable debut, quicker conditions will suit better, chance if stays dry. |

7th (10) (16/1 -14%) Ladiam |
16/1(-14%) | (10) Ladiam 16/1, Creditable fifth of 13 in handicap hurdle at Sligo (25.4f, good to soft, 5/1). Off 16 months and takes a drop in trip here. Capable of a bold show but reasonable to expect that he'll come on for the run. In decent form when last seen in 2023, on a fair mark but probably best watched. |

8th (2) (8/1 +33%) Kells Priory |
8/1(+33%) | (2) Kells Priory 8/1, Latest at Killarney in July. 7/1, ninth of 13 in handicap hurdle at that course (22.4f, good to soft) 57 days ago. Claims if he puts his best foot forward. Won off 6lb lower in July, poor latest but drop back in trip here a plus, can't discount. |

9th (14) (17/2 +58%) Cosmic Rock |
17/2(+58%) | (14) Cosmic Rock 17/2, Course winner. 7/1, below form tenth of 16 in handicap hurdle at Listowel (18f, soft) 22 days ago. Entitled to come on for that run and he enters calculations. Course winner at 2m, fine run over C&D in April, may have needed latest, chance if rains. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (11) (12/1 +64%) Getabelle |
12/1(+64%) | (11) Getabelle 12/1, 20/1, below form ninth of 15 in handicap hurdle at Killarney (20.2f, good to soft) 57 days ago. Needs a couple of these to falter. Won back to back handicaps last year, no impact in 2024, cheekpieces off, others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (7) (22/1 +56%) Big Debates |
22/1(+56%) | (7) Big Debates 22/1, Course winner. Fifteen runs since last win in 2022. 25/1, eighth of 11 in handicap hurdle at Listowel (16f, soft) 24 days ago. Back up in trip and this 11-y-o is basically opposable. Two-time course winner, unable to exploit lower hurdling mark recently, needs soft ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (17) (100/1 -100%) A Year Older |
100/1(-100%) | (17) A Year Older 100/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Eleventh of 15 in handicap hurdle (40/1) at Gowran (16f, good to soft) 16 days ago. Back up in trip. Well-beaten on handicap bow at Gowran Park, only down 1lb for that, may need more time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (4) (28/1 -75%) Robyndeglory |
28/1(-75%) | (4) Robyndeglory 28/1, Course winner. Eleven runs since last win in 2023. Eighth of 9 in handicap hurdle (11/2) at Tramore (21f, soft). Off 10 months ahead of this debut for new yard and it's probably best to look elsewhere this time. Five-time hurdles winner, pulled up when last seen in a point, watch on stable debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
BILLY LEE SWAGGER performed consistently well in his most recent handicap hurdle runs last winter and could well progress further, being just a five-year-old. Very much proven on testing ground, he also showed a liking for yielding when finishing a useful fourth in a big-field Punchestown festival handicap in April and a reproduction of that would give him every chance. In For The Night seemed to benefit from reverting back up in distance when winning at Gowran recently and while has has been raised 8lb, should again compete. King Kali is out of a Grade 3-winning dam and, since returning from a layoff last season, has shown good recent form and is well suited by soft ground.
It took a dozen attempts for IN FOR THE NIGHT to get his head in front but the manner of his recent breakthrough success at Gowran suggests that there is more to come, Indeed, an 8 lb rise is unlikely to be enough to prevent him from going in again. Billy Lee Swagger has low mileage and will be a serious player if fully tuned-up for this, while Dream In The Park is dangerous to discount having slipped to an attractive mark. King Kali scored at Listowel last time and he also needs a mention.
BILLY LEE SWAGGER ran a cracker in a stronger race when last seen at Punchestown and a repeat of that off the same mark could suffice.

1st (5) (7/2 -17%) Circuit Breaker |
7/2(-17%) | (5) Circuit Breaker 7/2, Useful handicapper on Flat (stays 2m). Interesting hurdle newcomer for a yard among the winners. Dual Flat winner who was placed in valuable 2m AW handicap here in April; hurdle debut. |

2nd (2) (6/1 +40%) Canal Court |
6/1(+40%) | (2) Canal Court 6/1, £30,000 buy after finishing runner-up on third of 3 starts in Irish points (May 11). Half-brother to numerous winners, including high-class chaser Chantry House. It'll be interesting to see what the betting makes of him. From good jumping family; bought for £30,000 after Irish point second in May. |

3rd (1) (4/6 +0%) Seeyouinmydreams |
4/6(+0%) | (1) Seeyouinmydreams 4/6, Wide-margin point/bumper winner who readily made all in maiden/novice hurdles at Fakenham (2½m) and Worcester (2m) at the start of the summer. Unlikely to get things quite so much her own way here but still taken to complete the hat-trick. Headstrong mare; gained two wide-margin wins in the spring and warrants respect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (15/2 +6%) Jungle Wood |
15/2(+6%) | (3) Jungle Wood 15/2, €50,000 Cokoriko gelding who is in excellent hands but offered little in a Chepstow bumper on debut 11 months ago. Upped in trip on hurdle bow. Off since a poor bumper debut last October but remains in the care of top stable. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
SEEYOUINMYDREAMS has made light work of her rivals in both starts this year and she sets a lofty standard for the others to aim at. Paul Nicholls' six-year-old might improve further for this extra distance and she could prove tough to beat. Any market confidence behind Circuit Breaker would be interesting on his NH debut and the useful Flat recruit should be the main threat, ahead of Canal Court.
SEEYOUINMYDREAMS likely has more on her plate than when winning twice at the start of the season but is still the one to beat. Useful Flat recruit Circuit Breaker may give her more to do than dual Newton Abbot runner-up Tribal Glory.
The form pick is SEEYOUINMYDREAMS, though Circuit Breaker may prove a serious threat provided he takes well to hurdles.

2nd (6) (4/1 -14%) Orandi |
4/1(-14%) | (6) Orandi 4/1, Winner at the Curragh in May. Good second of 14 in handicap at Naas (7f, good to soft, 13/2) 8 days ago. Chased home Global Energy at Listowel prior to that. Major chance on recent form, rider's claim could now prove crucial. |

11/2(0%) | (7) Gerrit's Gem 11/2, Two wins from 5 runs this year. 11/1, career best when winning 12-runner handicap at Cork (8f, good to soft) 19 days ago. Recent Cork winner's 5lb rise offset here by rider's claim so considered. |

5th (8) (15/2 -88%) Alessia Fernanda |
15/2(-88%) | (8) Alessia Fernanda 15/2, Winner at Cork in October. 4/1, good third of 25 in handicap at the Curragh (8f, good to soft) 15 days ago, closing all way to line. Considered. Unlucky Curragh third still improving; 7lb rise harsh but could prove the one to beat. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (8/1 -100%) Global Energy |
8/1(-100%) | (1) Global Energy 8/1, Course winner. 5/1, career best when winning 9-runner handicap at Listowel (8f, good to soft) 26 days ago by ¾ length from Orandi. Should go well again. Listowel defeat of Orandi and Monasterboice but career-best now needed off 7lb higher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (7/1 -75%) Monasterboice |
7/1(-75%) | (2) Monasterboice 7/1, Completed a hat-trick in July/August and remained in form since. Good 2¾ lengths third of 9 to Global Energy in handicap (4/1) at Listowel (8f, good to soft) 26 days ago. Likely to give another good account. Listowel third behind Global Energy and Orandi; more needed to reverse that form. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
The mile handicap won by Global Energy at Listowel last month looks a key piece of form in the context of this race as the Sheila Lavery-trained gelding beat ORANDI by under a length, with Monasterboice back in third. The runner-up won on soft ground at the Curragh in May and continued a consistent run of form when again second at Naas last weekend, while the booking of Sam Coen leaves him on a nice racing weight. Alessia Fernanda was unlucky in running when bidding to follow up a Cork win, again over a mile, at the Curragh earlier this month, but has a lot more on her plate off this revised rating.
ORANDI is 3 lb better off with Global Energy for a ¾ length defeat at Listowel and that might be enough for him to turn the tables on Sheila Lavery's charge. Alessia Fernanda and Monasterboice are others likely to have a say in a competitive race.
ALESSIA FERNANDA appeared very unlucky at the Curragh last time and can return to the winners' enclosure

Back down in trip. Has bigger performances in him over hurdles. Point runner-up and bumper winner but unable to threaten on his three hurdle starts. |

9/2(+0%) | (7) Kow Boy Sivola 9/2, Well held in a Perth bumper for John McConnell in April but offered more switched to hurdles there for new yard last month, finishing third of 6. May do better. Promising third on last month's hurdle and stable debut and he's high on the list. |

7/4(+22%) | (6) Kabuki 7/4, Bumper winner last December. Better effort over hurdles since when fourth of 10 in 2m Warwick novice on reappearance 17 days ago. Should go well. Bumper winner who was an encouraging fourth over hurdles recently; firmly in calculations. |

80/1(-1043%) | (2) The Geordie Ginge 80/1, Fair hurdler at best but not seen since finishing a below-form third in a 2m Huntingdon selling handicap last November (final start for Nigel Twiston-Davies). Sold for 4,800 gns in June. Ran well in summer 2023 but absent since selling handicap defeat that November; yard debut. |

7th (9) (50/1 +50%) Fortis Mulier |
50/1(+50%) | (9) Fortis Mulier 50/1, Fouth sole outing in Irish points. Showed a bit when sixth of 10 in Market Rasen maiden on hurdle debut in August but distant fourth over this C&D since. Looks more one for handicaps after this. Hasn't shown enough in her two maiden hurdles to suggest she'll be the answer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (18/1 -100%) Aire Spray |
18/1(-100%) | (5) Aire Spray 18/1, Second to the reopposing Kabuki in a Newcastle bumper last December. Ran to only a poor level when 18 lengths third on his completed start over hurdles in March. Been off for 7 months and might be best watched this time. Could do with jumping better but this bumper runner-up may be a contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (15/2 -36%) Willie Shake Hands |
15/2(-36%) | (3) Willie Shake Hands 15/2, Pulled up sole point but did show ability when third in a Naas bumper (soft) for Ciaran Murphy in April. Interesting to see what the betting makes of him now hurdling for Sam England. Fair third in sole Irish bumper and he's not ruled out on his hurdle and stable debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
The Geordie Ginge usually attracts attention in the betting and again warrants close inspection on debut for a new yard. However, he's been expensive to follow and appears vulnerable to some of the less exposed types, with KOW BOY SIVOLA, a full-brother to high-class chaser Funambule Sivola, forwarded as a strong contender after a promising hurdles debut at Perth. Kabuki and Aire Spray are other potential improvers in a wide-open race.
KABUKI has the potential to take another step forward on the back of his Warwick reappearance and is narrowly preferred to Perth-third Kow Boy Sivola. Sam England Irish bumper recruit Willie Shake Hands may prove best of the rest.
The Lucinda Russell-trained KOW BOY SIVOLA was a promising third on last month's hurdle debut at Perth and gets the nod.

Likely to find one or two too good. Problems with his jumping at times but has managed two wins in recent months, stays well. |

3rd (8) (16/1 -14%) Emily In Paris |
16/1(-14%) | (8) Emily In Paris 16/1, Pulled up in handicap chase (7/2) at Roscommon (21.7f, soft) 20 days ago, weakening soon after. Switches from chase to hurdles. Others make more appeal. 2-11 over hurdles, placed in two handicap over fences in August, below best last twice. |

16/1(-167%) | (10) Tilloughna 16/1, Improved to win 15-runner handicap hurdle at Ballinrobe (22f, good, 6/1) 89 days ago, driven clear. More needed up 8 lb but she merits respect all the same. Opened her account at Ballinrobe in July, relatively young mare may continue to improve. |

12/1(-60%) | (3) Wa Wa 12/1, Good second of 16 in handicap hurdle (33/1) at Roscommon (24f, soft) 75 days ago. Lurking on a handy mark and he has to be taken seriously. Four-time winner, out of form before a reassuring second over 3m at Roscommon in August. |

8th (11) (8/1 -23%) Stellar Symphony |
8/1(-23%) | (11) Stellar Symphony 8/1, 1 win from 3 runs this season. Career best when winning 15-runner handicap hurdle (11/1) at Clonmel (24.7f, good) 17 days ago, always holding on. More needed up 7 lb in what looks a tougher race. Down the field behind Tilloughna at Ballinrobe, bounced back to win at Clonmel, up 7lb. |

9th (4) (25/1 -79%) Lucky Viv |
25/1(-79%) | (4) Lucky Viv 25/1, Winner at Ballinrobe in August. Pulled up in handicap hurdle (7/1) at Clonmel (19.9f, good) 17 days ago, tailed off when pulled up between the third and second-last. Up in trip and would have a chance if able to bounce back. Stayed well when winning a maiden, handicap form has left a lot to be desired. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
SIZE FIVE is difficult to assess as his good ground September success at Perth was gained in an ordinary race but he scored effortlessly then. His four-year-old form was itself just average but on his return following 640 days off at Perth, he was well supported and won eased down by 20 lengths. He encounters softer ground today but could prove to be ahead of the handicapper with a 104 rating. Tilloughna and Stellar Symphony are also recent last-time-out winners who stay well, but have more exposed profiles. Georgian Quarter showed some promise when upped in trip at Cork in May but he reappears under top weight on handicap debut.
SIZE FIVE cruised home on his first start following a 21-month absence at Perth and, provided he avoids the dreaded 'bounce' factor, this unexposed 6-y-o looks capable of defying a 12 lb rise in the weights with the distinct promise of better to come. Wa Wa returned to form when hitting the crossbar at Roscommon and he'll be a threat if able to build on that. Lucky Viv won't be far away if on-song, while Georgian Quarter and Midleton Rare are likely improvers now venturing into handicap company.
Noel Kelly's SIZE FIVE has been transformed during a long layoff judging by the ease of last month's Perth win. He can follow up

1st (3) (5/1 +29%) Bourbali |
5/1(+29%) | (3) Bourbali 5/1, Won a match at this C&D on second start over fences last season but his form went the wrong way during the spring, well-beaten third of 5 in handicap back here in May. Needs to get back on track after a break. Below form in three runs this spring but circumstances were not ideal; case can be made. |

2nd (6) (11/4 +21%) Frere D'armes |
11/4(+21%) | (6) Frere D'armes 11/4, A while since his last success, but after 11 weeks off he shaped as if better for the run when third of 6 at Worcester (20f) last month. Return to this shorter trip should suit and he's a major player from his reduced mark. No win since a chase double (one C&D) in November 2022; down the weights; 3rd of 6 latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (5/1 -11%) Beau Balko |
5/1(-11%) | (4) Beau Balko 5/1, Fairly useful hurdler and ran to similar level when opening his chase account at the fourth attempt at Musselburgh in February. Likely to have won again but for a mistake 2 out when third at Ayr in April, so he enters calculations on his return. Looked likely to win at Ayr on final start only to blunder badly two out; same mark today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (10/1 -25%) Holly |
10/1(-25%) | (5) Holly 10/1, Impressive winner of handicap hurdle at Market Rasen in January and left behind a lesser effort next time when third at Haydock in March. Mistake 3 out knocked her out of contention at Punchestown in May, so she's one to note as she makes her chase debut. Very inconsistent in handicap hurdles; not proven beyond 2m and unraced over fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (9/4 +36%) Persian Time |
9/4(+36%) | (1) Persian Time 9/4, Won 2 of his first 4 starts over fences last season, doubling his tally when rallying for success at this C&D in March. However, well below that level on his final 2 starts of the campaign, so he needs to return at his best after 6 months off. Out of form three of last four runs; however, won C&D handicap in March and is just a 6yo. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (12/1 -140%) Guy |
12/1(-140%) | (2) Guy 12/1, Gained a third success of 2023/24 at Hereford in January and bounced back from a poor run when adding to his tally at Kelso in May. After 5 months off, found it tougher from a career-high mark when fourth of 7 back at Kelso 2 weeks ago. More needed. 4-23 over fences, including wins this January and May; has had a recent run; not ruled out. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
A tentative vote goes to FRERE D'ARMES, who shaped well for a long way on his return over further at Worcester last month. A previous winner over C&D, the seven-year-old should be suited by dropping back in trip and he may be able to strike at the main expense of Beau Balko, who was consistent in this sphere last season, despite only scoring once. A capable sort over the smaller obstacles, Holly is one to monitor for market support on her chasing bow.
C&D winner FRERE D'ARMES has dropped to a handy mark and, with his recent run behind him, he could be ready to return to winning ways back at this venue. He can get the better of Beau Balko, who shaped as if he should have won at Ayr on his final start last season, while Holly is also considered on her chasing debut.
There are plenty of ifs and buts with this field but BEAU BALKO looks capable of scoring off this mark judged on what he showed at Ayr.

7th (1) (10/1 +29%) Sunchart |
10/1(+29%) | (1) Sunchart 10/1, Useful gelding. 1 win from 3 runs this year. 7/4, ½-length second of 4 to Gaucher in Joe Mac Novices' Hurdle at Tipperary (16.2f, good to soft) 14 days ago, travelling best. Not ruled out. Stays further and likes it soft; 3lb penalty leaves him vulnerable but likely to run well. |

15/2(-25%) | (10) Fleur De Chine 15/2, Useful filly. 7/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, very good 1¼ lengths second of 14 to Power Under Me in Concorde Stakes at Tipperary (7.4f, soft) 14 days ago, nearest finish. 7.5f was too short when she came home well in first-time headgear in Tipperary Listed race. |

Plenty to find on form but not fully exposed. Bombed out completely in Curragh Group 3 on Guineas weekend and off since; hard to assess. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
LAYFAYETTE has gained the majority of his nine career wins over this trip and comes here off the back of a solid effort over 1m4f at Ascot, only weakening in the closing stages when third to Al Qareem in the Group 3 Cumberland Lodge. He is weighted to reverse last year's placings in this race with Sunchart, who reverts from hurdling and is well suited by soft ground. Elizabeth Jane finished well when fourth in the Irish Oaks and the Moyglare Stud homebred, who won here on debut in testing ground last autumn, may find this enough of a stamina test on the prevailing ground.
FLEUR DE CHINE shaped well in the Concorde Stakes at Tipperary and could go one better down in grade. Layfayette is an obvious player and Elizabeth Jane can get involved if back to the form she produced in the Irish Oaks.
She has a bit to find on ratings but FLEUR DE CHINE came home well over an inadequate trip at Tipperary and there may be more to come

12/1(+25%) | (9) Ocean Legacy 12/1, Winless since last May but his latest fourth in a 16-runner handicap chase at Roscommon (25f, soft, 16/1) was his best effort for some time and he's worth a look in the market having since left Dermot Anthony McLoughlin. Creditable effort on last start in Ireland and new stable is among the winners; chance. |

4th (3) (9/2 +18%) Redbridge Rambler |
9/2(+18%) | (3) Redbridge Rambler 9/2, Signed off last term with Ascot success when upped to a staying trip and showed aptitude when fourth of 8 in handicap chase at Worcester (16.5f, soft, 7/1) on debut over fences 23 days ago, fading only late on. Should progress. Progressive staying hurdler in the spring; well beaten on chase debut but that was over 2m. |

5th (5) (28/1 -40%) Ali Star Bert |
28/1(-40%) | (5) Ali Star Bert 28/1, A three-time 3m chase winner last season who signed off with a good second of 4 in handicap chase at Southwell (24.3f, heavy) in April. Uncharacteristically laboured display on his comeback at Worcester last month, though, and others are preferred. Three wins last season; pulled up at 33-1 on reappearance but may have needed the run. |

6th (7) (7/2 +13%) Sean Og |
7/2(+13%) | (7) Sean Og 7/2, Successful twice over fences at Cartmel (21f) this summer and quickly bounced back to form with an excellent second at Hexham 2 weeks ago, finished one place ahead of S. Bumped into a handicap blot there and is of strong interest again. Two wins at Cartmel this summer and bumped into progressive winner when second at Hexham. |

|PU| (8) (5/1 +17%) Steps Match |
5/1(+17%) | (8) Steps Match 5/1, Came good at the first time of asking for this yard when a convincing all-the-way winner of a 3m Perth handicap hurdle last month and gave a bold show for a long way when third of 12 in handicap chase at Hexham (24.2f, good, 10/1) 16 days ago. Remains with potential from this chase mark. Ex-Irish 9yo who has been in good form since joining yard; could make another bold bid. |

|PU| (6) (10/1 -122%) Big Bee Hive |
10/1(-122%) | (6) Big Bee Hive 10/1, Hurdles winner in Ireland who made perfect start over fences when scoring at Sedgefield (19.3f) in February. Quickly added to his tally when scoring Southwell and Cartmel in May before going close again at Southwell, so has to respected on first outing for 4 months. 3 wins in February/May then runner-up in June; major player if resuming where he left off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (50/1 -400%) Mister Bells |
50/1(-400%) | (4) Mister Bells 50/1, Took advantage of a much-reduced mark having his first start in veterans' company at Catterick (25f, soft) in February. Bit below that level at Perth on final outing last season and may prove vulnerable to less-exposed rivals on his return. Won at Catterick in January but this 10yo has to be at the top of his game on reappearance. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
BIG BEE HIVE has been a revelation since beginning his career over fences at this track in February and going further up in trip should not inconvenience him judging by the most recent evidence at Southwell, when rallying late for second. The seven-year-old gets the vote ahead of Sean Og, who was a highly creditable runner-up at Hexham and has the potential to improve for the rise in distance. Mister Bells and Redbridge Rambler have the form to get involved in proceedings as well.
STEPS MATCH has made a fine start to life for new trainer Daragh Bourke and he can build an encouraging recent third at Hexham, travelling with plenty of enthusiam out in front until the track's gruelling latter stages took their tole, his mark having also dropped 2 lb in the interim. Sean Og finished one place ahead of the selection last time and has to be respected again, with Redbridge Rambler also fancied to step forward from his chase debut.
Top of the list is REDBRIDGE RAMBLER, who was progressive in staying handicap hurdles and goes back up in trip in his second chase.

16/1(+20%) | (7) Hurricane Georgie 16/1, Course winner. 2 wins from 6 runs this season. 28/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, below form eighth of 17 in handicap chase at Listowel (23.8f, soft) 25 days ago. Others more persuasive. Won a Galway conditions event after Plate seventh, did not jump well in Kerry National. |

11th (15) (22/1 -38%) Battleoverdoyen |
22/1(-38%) | (15) Battleoverdoyen 22/1, Unreliable sort. Won 20-runner handicap chase at Galway (22.5f, soft, 20/1) 79 days ago. Far from certain to back that up, given his patchy profile. Veteran stepped up on hunter chase form with a battling win in the Galway Blazers Chase. |

|PU| (8) (16/1 -33%) The Goffer |
16/1(-33%) | (8) The Goffer 16/1, Below form tenth of 17 in handicap chase (14/1) at Listowel (23.8f, soft) 25 days ago. Will be a danger if back to his very best. Won valuable Leopardstown Chase the season before last, jumping has become problematic. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
HORANTZAU D'AIRY's chances are obvious having finished second to Flooring Porter in last month's Kerry National, with the pair pulling clear of the remainder. Being a keen-goer, he had previously been kept to shorter distances but has settled better in recent times and stayed this distance well at Listowel. He is proven on soft ground and remains a little unexposed over staying distances. Grade 2 victor Favori De Champdou is likely to have been aimed at this race since his success in an April Grade 3 novice chase over today's course and distance, and is Gordon Elliott's first string. Panda Boy was outclassed in April's Aintree National but had previously finished second in the Paddy Power Chase last Christmas.
It's hard to ignore the claims of HORANTZAU D'AIRY, who proved that this trip is well within his range when a staying-on second to easy winner Flooring Porter in the Kerry National at Listowel last month. He's gone up 4 lb for that but he's unexposed as a stayer and is taken to provide the Willie Mullins yard with a fourth success in this race since 2017. Perceval Legallois and Panda Boy may emerge as the main dangers, though Yeah Man will also be a player if ready to roll.
A fine effort behind the dominant Flooring Porter at Listowel suggests that HORANTZAU D'AIRY now has the credentials for 3m success

2nd (5) (7/2 +53%) Kihavah |
7/2(+53%) | (5) Kihavah 7/2, Likeable and versatile sort who posted a very good second in Summer Hurdle at Market Rasen in July. Close second in Summer Plate at Market Rasen and in career-best form on the Flat since. |

Has since changed hands and can't be ruled out back hurdling for his new yard. Smart chaser in Ireland for Willie Mullins; may find 2m too sharp on stable debut. |

4th (3) (7/1 -56%) First Street |
7/1(-56%) | (3) First Street 7/1, A four-time hurdles winner but he failed to match that form sent chasing in the spring, coming in last of five at Bangor (3m) in May. Reverts to this sphere after a break and possibilites with tongue strap back on. Smart at best but below par last season; well beaten over fences in May on latest start. |

18/1(+36%) | (8) Carrigeen Kampala 18/1, Scored at Newton Abbot in June and tongue tied when an improved second of 8 in handicap hurdle at Plumpton (15.9f, good to soft) 28 days ago. This demands a clear personal best, though. Ran well in Plumpton handicap last month but needs to take her form to a new level today. |

7th (6) (50/1 +24%) Parramount |
50/1(+24%) | (6) Parramount 50/1, A fairly useful winning hurdler who comes here in good form from the Flat, third in handicap at Kempton (11f) 18 days ago. Cheekpieces added. This is no easy ask though. Out of form over hurdles at end of last season but in much better nick on the Flat lately. |

|PU| (7) (7/4 +36%) Casa No Mento |
7/4(+36%) | (7) Casa No Mento 7/4, Took her form up a level when going 4-5 over hurdles in 2m listed hurdle at Punchestown in May. Yard is among the winners so she's not taken lightly after a break. 4-5 over hurdles, including Listed mares' novice win at Punchestown festival in May. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
A taking winner of this contest last year, and runner-up over the same track and trip to Constitution Hill in December, RUBAUD sets the standard. A highly progressive mare last season, which included a Listed success at Punchestown, Casa No Mento looks to be the main danger for in-form connections, while last year's third First Street and Authorized Art are capable of being in the shake-up as well.
A few with chances but Paul Nicholls' consistent RUBAUD captured this prize 12 months ago and is fancied to repeat the feat. Nigel Twiston-Davies has his string in great nick so his Casa No Mento rates the chief threat after a break, with Kihavah and First Street both in the mix reverted to this sphere.
Class act RUBAUD overcame a Grade 2 penalty to win this race a year ago and is selected to do so again.

66/1(-65%) | (6) Munroh 66/1, 100/1, last of 12 in minor event at Galway (8.4f, good) 40 days ago, slowly away. Form so far for current trainer poor so very hard to fancy. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Bear Profit had RED TRAIL just over a length behind in third when successful over a similar trip at Naas last Sunday, but the places may now be reversed given softer conditions and the revised ratings. The selection has gained all four previous wins with plenty of cut in the ground at around this distance, and Wesley Joyce takes 5lb off her back. Livio Milo won a Galway Festival maiden last year and was placed twice here earlier this season, while Gandolfo tries this trip for the first time after taking a Bellewstown maiden. Saffronandblue struck form this spring, winning both here and at Sligo, and it will be interesting to see how strong he is in the market after a five-month break.
This is wide open but SAFFRONANDBLUE looked better than ever when going in at Sligo last time so is taken to make light of a 7 lb rise and complete his hat-trick. Master Dunraven is weighted to have a say and next on the list, with Gibbs Island, Red Trail and Bear Profit also well in the mix. Copie Conforme completes the shortlist.
It may pay to retain the faith in IT'SONLYJUSTBEGUN, who still appears to be learning on the job and finished out her race well at Naas

1st (5) (11/2 +8%) Jesuitique |
11/2(+8%) | (5) Jesuitique 11/2, Matched his hurdles form at the first attempt over fences when runner-up at Bangor (24f) last summer, though hasn't built on that effort in 3 starts since. Stiff task at Worcester on his return, but more needed to better his third in this race last year. 3rd in this last year; another good run on sole start since; remains unexposed over fences. |

2nd (4) (12/1 +0%) Jerrash |
12/1(+0%) | (4) Jerrash 12/1, Recorded back-to-back wins at Bangor and Market Rasen this summer and good effort when runner-up to Tommie Beau at Cartmel (25.5f) in August. Possibly found race coming too soon a fortnight later at Perth last month, so he's not discounted. Inconsistent this season but won twice in the summer and he's not discounted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (9/2 +25%) Tommie Beau |
9/2(+25%) | (1) Tommie Beau 9/2, Won over both sets of obstacles at Cartmel in May and added to his tally back chasing at the same course (25.5f) in August. Runner-up over hurdles at Newton Abbot (21.6f) 5 days later and he can make a bold bid to win this race for second year in succession. Won this last year and has continued to improve, winning three times this season. |

|F| (2) (8/1 -60%) Dripsey Moon |
8/1(-60%) | (2) Dripsey Moon 8/1, Winning hurdler who has taken well to chasing for new connections, showing useful form when landing back-to-back handicaps at Perth (20.1f) in August/September. Again ran well when second of 4 at the same C&D last time and he's a leading contender back up in trip. Has done very well for new yard over fences; goes into the unknown stamina-wise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (7/1 +30%) Glory And Honour |
7/1(+30%) | (8) Glory And Honour 7/1, Improved for current yard last season tried again over fences and, after 12 weeks off, also scored on the Flat at Pontefract (18f, heavy) 13 days ago. Has dropped below his last winning mark back in this sphere and he's one to note upped in trip. Unproven at the trip but produced strong staying performance for 2m2f Flat win recently. |

|PU| (7) (9/1 +25%) We'llhavewan |
9/1(+25%) | (7) We'llhavewan 9/1, Useful winning hurdler but not at the same level over fences, running poorly at Ballinrobe in May (23.4f). Making first start since leaving Willie Mullins, shaped as if needing the run over hurdles at Uttoxeter 2 weeks ago, though others still preferred. Well treated on hurdle form but jumping has been an issue over fences. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
It is difficult to look past proven stamina in a contest of this nature and TOMMIE BEAU provides just that, having won this contest last year. The top-weight has struck four times since and good ground may be a plus as he attempts to retain his crown. Dripsey Moon has not been outside the first two since joining the Donald McCain yard and is a big danger. Runner-up over 3m2f at Newton Abbot on his penultimate start, Hauraki Gulf is another who gives the impression he may relish this extreme test.
DRIPSEY MOON continued his positive start over fences for current yard when bumping into a chasing newcomer at Perth on his latest outing, so he is taken to resume winning ways as he goes back up in distance. He is preferred to last year's winner of the race Tommie Beau, who has continued in fine form this summer, while Glory And Honour could also be in the mix.
Course winner HAURAKI GULF is the selection having hinted he could be well suited by a marathon test. Jesuitique is second choice.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
SHANTREUSSE remains on a favourable-looking mark having blundered away his chances in Aintree's Topham Chase in April. Well suited by testing ground, he nonetheless disappointed in the Thyestes Chase in January but bounced back with a good runner-up effort at Naas the following month and ran a fine race at Aintree, considering his bad blunder at the fifth-last fence. Kings Halo disappointed in the aforementioned Naas race but had a veterinary excuse as he returned lame. He was well beaten on his season reappearance at Killarney, that was at an inadequate distance and over hurdles and, last season, had the profile of a progressive type. Invictus Machin is 7lb higher than when winning on yielding to soft ground in August.
This drop back in trip may be a good thing for NATURAL LOOK, who travelled strongly for most of the way when third in a 2¾m Ballinrobe handicap over hurdles last month and she is versatile ground-wise. Invictus Machin opened his chase account at Kilbeggan last time and looks the pick of the Gavin Cromwell-trained quartet. He is feared most ahead of El Champo.
A chance is taken on THE BIG CHAP. He shaped nicely on his last start in this sphere, he has course form and he is ground versatile.

12/1(-71%) | (3) Concetto 12/1, Mixed record last season but won 2 of his last 4 starts, looking suited by the return to positive tactics when making all in blinkers at Huntingdon in April. However, showed signs of temperament once again at Ludlow later that month and cheekpieces go back on. Won twice towards end of last season but current mark probably demands new personal best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (14/1 -100%) Poppa Poutine |
14/1(-100%) | (2) Poppa Poutine 14/1, Ended 2022/23 out of form but on a good mark on the pick of his efforts on his belated return (off 19 months). Market may reveal expectations but no surprise to see him go well with stable in fine form. Out of form when last seen in early 2023 but given good chance by handicapper in meantime. |

|U| (8) (9/1 0%) Face D'music |
9/1(0%) | (8) Face D'music 9/1, £100,000 purchase having been placed only start in Irish point. Fair form over hurdles but made hard work of things when off the mark at the seventh attempt at Hereford when last seen in May. Chase debut. Stayed on well to open hurdling account at Hereford in May; makes chasing debut here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (10/3 +17%) Blairgowrie |
10/3(+17%) | (7) Blairgowrie 10/3, Off the mark over hurdles in 13-runner handicap at Newbury at the end of the 2021/22 season and made an encouraging belated return/chase debut when second there in January (was the only chasing first-timer in the line-up). Remains with potential on first run since. Seen only once last season, when second on chase debut in January, but still has potential. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Having offered plenty of encouragement on his chasing bow when second at Newbury in January, BLAIRGOWRIE makes plenty of appeal on his return to action. The lightly-raced eight-year-old will appreciate the return to his last winning trip and he's narrowly preferred to dual C&D winner Killer Kane. Joe Tizzard's charge is now 4lb below his last successful mark and a drop into class 4 company is likely to see him involved. Regarde may fare best of the remainder.
It could be worth chancing KILLER KANE, who often keeps better company than this and starts the new campaign 4 lb below his last winning mark. Poppa Poutine is another who is potentially well treated for his in-form yard having missed the whole of last season, while Blairgowrie has the potential to make up for lost time on the back of his encouraging chase bow at Newbury in January.
Topweight KILLER KANE is not as good as he was but he runs this track very well and will appreciate today's ease in grade.

1st (13) (11/1 +56%) Arch Enemy |
11/1(+56%) | (13) Arch Enemy 11/1, Latest win at Bellewstown in October. 14/1, creditable seventh of 19 in handicap at the Curragh (14f, good to soft) 3 days ago. Others have achieved more. No weight on her back but probably out of her depth in this company; 7lb wrong. |

2nd (7) (9/2 +50%) Scholarship |
9/2(+50%) | (7) Scholarship 9/2, Twelve runs since last win in 2023. Respectable third of 6 in handicap at the Curragh (10f, good to soft, 11/4) 3 days ago, needing stronger gallop. Can make presence felt. Second to Soaring Monarch over 1m4f at Listowel; third of six at the Curragh on Thursday. |

3rd (14) (25/1 +38%) Sceptred Isle |
25/1(+38%) | (14) Sceptred Isle 25/1, Course winner. 2 wins from 5 runs this year. Good 2½ lengths third of 14 to Arch Enemy in handicap (6/1) at Bellewstown (12.3f, soft) 18 days ago. Opposable in this company. 7yo has had fine season at a lower level, including 1m7f win here, but 12lb wrong. |

5th (2) (12/1 +40%) Lips Freedom |
12/1(+40%) | (2) Lips Freedom 12/1, Won 6-runner listed race at Merano (11.9f, good) 66 days ago by 1¾ lengths from Rex of Thunder. First run for yard after leaving Andreas Suborics. Smart horse when trained in Germany; landed 1m4f Listed contest at Merano in August. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (17/2 -31%) Soaring Monarch |
17/2(-31%) | (3) Soaring Monarch 17/2, Career best when winning 9-runner handicap at Listowel (12f, good to soft, 7/2) 27 days ago by 2¾ lengths from Scholarship. Enters calculations. Readily landed Listowel contest with a couple of these rivals behind; 5lb rise seems fair. |

7th (1) (16/1 -45%) Taipan |
16/1(-45%) | (1) Taipan 16/1, 1 win from 3 runs this year. Twenty first of 30 in handicap at the Curragh (16.8f, good to soft, 33/1) 21 days ago. Down in trip. Well held in handicaps over further last twice and trip is on the sharp side for him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (17/2 +66%) Oriole |
17/2(+66%) | (8) Oriole 17/2, Latest win at Galway in August. 40/1, respectable fourteenth of 22 in handicap at this course (13f, good) 36 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Won over this trip on soft ground at Galway festival; well held in premier handicap here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) (15/2 +53%) Morse |
15/2(+53%) | (11) Morse 15/2, Course winner. Winner here in April. Good second of 14 in handicap (66/1) at Down Royal (12.8f, soft) 20 days ago. Others more persuasive. Better effort when stepped up to 1m5f last time when chasing home well-treated rival. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) (5/2 -43%) Autumn Winter |
5/2(-43%) | (6) Autumn Winter 5/2, Promising sort. 1 win from 3 runs this year. Career best when winning 5-runner handicap (4/6) at Thurles (12.5f, good) 10 days ago, well on top finish. Expected to be bang there. Good run at Royal Ascot and returned from lay-off with workmanlike victory at Thurles. |

11th (10) (33/1 +0%) Suprise Package |
33/1(+0%) | (10) Suprise Package 33/1, Lightly-raced winner on Flat. 1 win from 3 runs this year. Useful winner at 21f over hurdles. Last of 22 in handicap at this course (13f, good, 33/1) 36 days ago. Not easy to make a case for. 1m5f maiden winner at Ballinrobe but trailed home in premier handicap here last month. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
AUTUMN WINTER was placed twice in maidens over a mile on heavy ground, including on his reappearance here in April, and subsequently finished well when beaten less than four lengths in the King George V Handicap at Royal Ascot. He was absent until landing the odds at Thurles earlier this month and has scope for further improvement. Morse won a mile maiden on testing ground here this spring and returned to form when upped significantly in distance at Down Royal last time. Vestigia and Oriole are others who will appreciate the soft ground, while Soaring Monarch beat Scholarship in a similar event at Listowel last month.
AUTUMN WINTER built on the promise of his Royal Ascot run when a ready winner at Thurles 10 days ago and this low-mileage 3-y-o surely has more to offer still. Soaring Monarch looked better than ever when scoring at Listowel and remains unexposed at this trip, so is next best ahead of thriving 3-y-o Masoun.
There should be more to come from the lightly-raced AUTUMN WINTER and he can come forward from his Thurles victory to land this prize

1st (5) (10/3 +17%) The Navigator |
10/3(+17%) | (5) The Navigator 10/3, Course scorer who resumed winning ways in 6-runner handicap hurdle at Kelso (20.9f, good to soft) 14 days ago. Up 4 lb but he's weighted to go well again. Two hurdle wins this season and he's 3-7 here; on the shortlist. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (13/8 +41%) Jaramillo |
13/8(+41%) | (2) Jaramillo 13/8, Scored over C&D in September but he's an unreliable sort and came in last of 13 in Flat handicap at Kempton (12f) 9 days ago. No surprise to see him get back on track here. Made it 2-2 here with easy C&D win last month; a 9lb rise may well not stop him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (11/4 +45%) Harper Valley |
11/4(+45%) | (3) Harper Valley 11/4, Scored three times last season, including over C&D, and he ran well in first-time cheekpieces when fifth of 15 in handicap hurdle at Kelso (22.7f) in May. That form has been franked so big shout off a 2 lb lower mark. Progressive ways stalled in the spring but returns from a break with trainer in good form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (9/2 +31%) Finisk River |
9/2(+31%) | (4) Finisk River 9/2, Resumed winning ways at Bangor in September and not discredited when fifth of 8 in handicap hurdle at Newton Abbot (21.6f, good) 30 days ago. Also took this event in 2022 so he's very much one to consider. Won this race in 2022 and at Bangor two starts ago; capable of having a say. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (22/1 -175%) Hajey |
22/1(-175%) | (1) Hajey 22/1, C&D winner but off the track since a rare below-par sixth of 9 in handicap hurdle at Wetherby (19.7f) in February. Has gone well fresh though so needs considering. First outing since below-par run in February but can go well fresh and has won here twice. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
The Navigator bounced back to form when landing the spoils at Kelso a fortnight ago and a 4lb higher mark shouldn't prevent another bold bid. However, it could be worth taking a chance on C&D winner HARPER VALLEY, who scored on his reappearance here last season. Dual track-and-trip scorer Finisk River, who claimed this prize in 2022, is another who enjoys it at this venue and the veteran shouldn't be far away.
None of these can be ruled out but HARPER VALLEY enjoyed a very good time of it last season and this C&D scorer looks the way to go with the form of his latest Kelso fifth having been well advertised since. Dianne Sayer's versatile course winner The Navigator heads the list of dangers, with 2022 victor Finish River also firmly in the picture.
The Navigator likes it here but preference is for JARAMILLO (nap), who made it 2-2 at Sedgefield with a comfortable win last month.

1st (5) (9/4 +93%) Well Del |
9/4(+93%) | (5) Well Del 9/4, Once-raced maiden. Fourth of 18 in novice hurdle (66/1) at Listowel (22f, good) on NH debut 28 days ago, running on. Big step forward needed on this chase debut. Promise in points and on hurdles debut, chasing debutant, has potential but this a big ask. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (4/1 +94%) King Of Cong |
4/1(+94%) | (2) King Of Cong 4/1, Fair hurdler. Winner in hurdle here in April. Fair winner at 19f over hurdles. Fourth of 6 in novice chase (40/1) at Listowel (22f, soft) on debut over fences 24 days ago. Looks up against it. 106 rated hurdler, beaten over 100l on chasing debut last month, up against it here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (3) (4/6 +95%) Little Mixup |
4/6(+95%) | (3) Little Mixup 4/6, Promising sort. 20/1, unseated rider in novice chase at Galway (18.2f, good to soft) on debut over fences 12 days ago. Jumped well prior to that mistake and he's open to improvement in this sphere. Useful hurdler rated 124, unseated on chasing bow at Galway, place claims if jumps better. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
FARREN GLORY is an exciting chasing recruit and is helped by having prior point-to-point experience. Defeated in both pointing starts, he later showed high-class hurdling ability, landing December's Royal Bond Hurdle before falling at the second last - with the race at his mercy - in that month's Tolworth Hurdle at Aintree. He was reported to have had blood at both nostrils following a subsequent February defeat but has been freshened up and returns following a summer holiday. Mint Boy is himself an able 137-rated hurdler and while he won on his only point-to-point start, lacks some of the selection's ability. Little Mixup is rated 125 over hurdles and exited at the seventh fence on his recent chase debut.
Save for his latest effort at Leopardstown in February when clearly far from 100%, FARREN GLORY was a very promising novice hurdler last season and he will surely prove much too good for these rivals, provided his jumping passes the test on this chase debut. Mint Boy and Little Mixup can fill the places.
If FARREN GLORY can replicate his very smart hurdling form on his chasing debut he'll be hard to beat if handling the ground.

1st (6) (5/1 -25%) Rebel Intentions |
5/1(-25%) | (6) Rebel Intentions 5/1, 11/1, good second of 10 in handicap hurdle at Stratford (22f, good to soft) 13 days ago. Capable of going one better with a reproduction of that form. Lost his form but returned with close call at Stratford recently; big shout on peak form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (33/1 +18%) On Springs |
33/1(+18%) | (4) On Springs 33/1, Temperamental sort who has fallen on his last two starts over fences and, understandably, returns to the smaller obstacles after a break. Off 381 days when well beaten over hurdles in May; then fell twice in chases this summer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (4/6 +20%) Far Sight |
4/6(+20%) | (1) Far Sight 4/6, Bumper winner who showed promise over hurdles for previous trainer and has been progressive for this yard, scoring comfortably at Wincanton 3 days ago. Unlikely runner but would be of interest. Favourite, off the mark as hurdler in good style at Wincanton three days ago; 7lb penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (17/2 +15%) Full Monty |
17/2(+15%) | (2) Full Monty 17/2, Opened his account with a cosy success in a 2½m Uttoxeter maiden (good to firm) in July but hasn't fired since, only seveneth at Worcester 23 days ago, so others make more appeal. Well beaten when 16-1 for handicap debut in a quite valuable race on soft; needs a check. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (12/1 +14%) Time To Tinker |
12/1(+14%) | (7) Time To Tinker 12/1, Has spent a long time in the doldrums (last win was gained back in November 2021) but he has stopped the slide to some extent lately, again hitting the frame at Warwick last time. Not ruled out. Way down the weights; minor honours over 2m3f/3m2f last month but others make more appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (10/1 +9%) Stanley Pincombe |
10/1(+9%) | (3) Stanley Pincombe 10/1, Consistent sort who resumed winning ways at Plumpton last November. Generally held form since and made a solid returhn when third at Fontwell last month. Respected. Latest win last November; not disgraced last month after his summer break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (20/1 -43%) Thahab Ifraj |
20/1(-43%) | (5) Thahab Ifraj 20/1, On a reduced mark and bounced back when second (in a race he won in 2023) at Exeter 10 days ago. Can be on the premises with a performance of similar merit. 11yo who is 7-36 over hurdles; second of eight at Exeter (2m2f, good) ten days ago. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
FAR SIGHT justified strong support in the market when romping to victory at Wincanton on Thursday. Harry Derham's charge scored despite looking green under pressure and he is more than capable of defying a 7lb penalty. The biggest threat may be posed by Rebel Intentions, who returned to form with a close-up second on his reappearance at Stratford 13 days ago. Thahab Ifraj is also forecast to figure after finishing runner-up at Exeter recently.
REBEL INTENTIONS is a tough character when on his game and, if he can repeat the level of performance he showed at Stratford last time, he's a likely winner of this. Far Sight is an obvious threat if participating after 3 days off and Thahab Ifraj probably won't be far away.
Far Sight completing a quick double may seem the most likely outcome but REBEL INTENTIONS (nap) is a strong alternative.

5/1(+17%) | (11) Pimstrel 5/1, Improved on recent efforts to win 10-runner handicap (4/1) at Bellewstown (7.9f, soft) 18 days ago, always holding on. Put back up 6 lb but remains with handicapping scope on peak form. Made the most of a good draw over 1m at Bellewstown; stiff 7f is fine and has her chance. |

2nd (1) (10/3 +33%) Speckled Meadow |
10/3(+33%) | (1) Speckled Meadow 10/3, Course winner. Latest win here in April. Creditable third of 13 in handicap at Killarney (8.1f, good to soft, 10/3) 58 days ago, not ideally placed. Merits consideration. Softer the better for mare who does well at this time of year; not been far last thrice. |

5/1(-43%) | (3) Selective Power 5/1, Career best when winning 25-runner handicap (12/1) at the Curragh (8f, good to soft) 15 days ago, all out. An 8 lb rise demands another career best. Prominent racer has thrived since this headgear was applied; likely to be handy. |

8th (2) (8/1 -45%) Summer Snow |
8/1(-45%) | (2) Summer Snow 8/1, Latest win at Gowran in June. Creditable third of 12 in handicap (5/1) at Listowel (7.1f, good to soft) 26 days ago, suited by way race developed. Tongue strap back on. Came home well when third in higher grade at Listowel; trip perfect and easy ground fine. |

125/1(-89%) | (12) Talking Tough 125/1, Two wins from 69 Flat runs. Fifty two runs since last win in 2020. 100/1, twenty fifth of 28 in handicap at the Curragh (7f, good to firm) 64 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Placed over this trip on soft at Galway 13 months ago but shown little since; 1lb wrong. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
SPECKLED MEADOW has gained all three wins on testing ground, including when landing a 20-runner mile handicap on her reappearance over a mile here in April. The mare has been given a light enough campaign since and can defy top weight, with Wayne Hassett claiming a valuable 5lb. Summer Snow is well suited by this trip and finished strongly from off the pace when placed behind Ramiro at Listowel last month. Selective Power has struck a rich vein of form this year, including wins over a mile at Naas and the Curragh, but has gone up a total of 20lb in the ratings. Shoot To Kill and Pimstrel are others to note.
SHOOT TO KILL might prove the answer to this finale as his penultimate Killarney second off an identical mark looks a solid piece of form. Speckled Meadow was a place behind the selection in third on that occasion and may give him most to do ahead of recent Bellewstown scorer Pimstrel.
A chance is taken with ROYAL PIPPEN on his third start for Paul Flynn; he hasn't won for ages but shaped with promise at the Curragh

100/1(+0%) | (4) Boom Boom Boris 100/1, Dragon Dancer gelding. Dam, winning pointer, half-sister to fairly useful chaser (stays 21f) Mylesfromwicklow. Not an obvious sort on paper. 1st foal; dam point winner, half-sister to useful sort; watching brief is advised on debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Olly Murphy sends sole representative KARTON PLEIN to this meeting and a big performance is expected. The four-year-old finished a respectable second in a 3m Irish point-to-point in April, but he possesses enough speed in his pedigree to handle this distance and a winning Rules debut is forecast. Swingingonthesteel arrives on the back of a victory between the flags and he is feared most, ahead of newcomer Sam's Falcon.
KARTON PLEIN has shown ability in points and, given his connections, is likely to be tuned up for this Rules debut, so he's preferred to Swingingonthesteel, who won a point bumper in February. Clearisthewater is the best option of those with bumper experience.
Point runner-up KARTON PLEIN makes his first start for Olly Murphy, who does well in bumpers, and is taken to come out on top.
Ths is the racecard key.
