13:22 Redcar Stakes (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

INVITORIO may have been last of three runners at Ayr most recently, but he went well for a long way before weakening late. That marked a major improvement on his debut and with further progress expected, the son of Invincible Army can get off the mark at the main expense of newcomer Bad Habits, who is well related and should be monitored for market support. Beerwah and Top Bins are likely to be thereabouts as well.

BAD HABITS is bred to have plenty of speed and his yard is well capable of getting one ready, so he might be the one to side with in what looks a thin race on paper. Secret Dream is another interesting newcomer and Invitorio is probably the pick of those with experience.

Those with experience aren't that convincing so a chance is taken on George Boughey's debutant BAD HABITS.

13:35 Uttoxeter Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Point-to-point winner WADE OUT readily beat two subsequent winners when getting off the mark on his Rules debut in a Market Rasen bumper in March, and this promising son of Shantou looks the one to be with on his hurdling debut. Runner-up in a Listed hurdle for juveniles at Aintree on his penultimate start, Knight Of Allen was on target at Chepstow when last seen and he must enter calculations. Sonification seemingly hasn't been the easiest to train, but he could land a blow if he is fully tuned up on his first start for almost two years.

WADE OUT looked promising when making a successful start to his Rules career in a Market Rasen bumper in the spring and can follow up on hurdle debut. Sonification has been off the track for 2 years but still rates a promising new recruit for the in-form Harry Derham stable and is feared more than penalised 4-y-o Knight of Allen.

Wade Out ought to make his mark in novice hurdles very soon but KNIGHT OF ALLEN sets a pretty good standard here.

13:45 Haydock Stakes (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

William Haggas is finishing off the turf season strongly and sends out YABHER with a good chance of adding to a promising debut win over 1m at Doncaster last month. He showed a willingness to dig deep on that occasion, and a repeat effort could suffice. Irish raider Minella Boss and Cangofar were both well beaten on their first starts, so Alan King's newcomer King Al won't need to be anything special to go well.

YABHER made a winning start at Doncaster 5 weeks ago, looking a good prospect, and can make it 2-2 before having his sights raised. Minella Boss is the danger after his promising Galway second.

Having won a deeper race at the Doncaster St Leger meeting, YABHER looks capable of defying a penalty. Minella Boss is feared most.

13:52 Redcar Handicap (Class 5) 6f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

ALFA WHITEBURD has found his groove of late and a 6lb penalty for his most recent success at Southwell may not be enough to prevent him from landing the hat-trick. Craig Lidster's charge has yet to win on turf, but he is in form and may have too much for Harry's Halo, who is consistent and has run well in defeat off this mark the last twice. Capable veteran Cold Stare cannot be ruled out either.

ALFA WHITEBURD is comfortably the most progressive in this field and had something to spare when scoring at Southwell recently, so he makes most appeal under a penalty. Cold Stare is worthy of consideration coming down in grade., and Harry's Halo should be thereabouts.

The thriving ALFA WHITEBURD is taken to complete a hat-trick. The in-form Harry's Halo in new headgear is feared most.

14:00 Fakenham Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Having made it no further than the second flight when unseating his rider on his hurdles bow at Stratford recently, three-time bumper winner Ronnies Rules will need to jump with more fluency. Dan Skelton's gelding is likely to be in the mix if doing so, but useful Flat performer CHARGING THUNDER makes more appeal. The six-year-old won't be found lacking for stamina on his opening bid in this discipline and he looks just the type his trainer excels with. Tarbaan makes most appeal of the remainder.

The switch to James Owen paid immediate dividends for CHARGING THUNDER on the level and sure to be well prepared for this hurdles debut, he can follow up. Ronnies Rules didn't get very far on recent debut in this sphere but he couldn't be in much better hands, while The Expensive One is certainly bred to excel over obstacles.

Nigel Twiston-Davies won this with a hurdling debutant in 2022 and he may be able to repeat the trick with THE EXPENSIVE ONE.

14:10 Uttoxeter Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

GET THE BEAT gets a tentative vote. He made a pleasing start when finishing runner-up in a Wetherby bumper in March and, having subsequently been snapped up by the Dan Skelton team, it would be no surprise if he were able to go one place better on his hurdling debut. 72,000-euro purchase Jackpot D'ainay performed with credit in a bumper when second over 2m at Huntingdon towards the back end of last season and he looks the main danger. Windsurfer is respected most of the remainder.

GET THE BEAT showed plenty when runner-up in a bumper for Tom Weston 6 months ago and he's joined top connections since, so he's marginally preferred to Windsurfer, who made a solid start to life over hurdles at Warwick five months ago. Diamonds For Luck also merits consideration.

This may be fought out by Jackpot D'Ainay and GET THE BEAT, who both finished second in soft-ground bumpers in March.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

LOVELY SPIRIT has yet to finish out of the money and that consistency earns the daughter of Invincible Spirit the vote. She broke her maiden when upped to this trip at Musselburgh two starts ago, and was far from disgraced when second at Ayr most recently. Cashlyn Cavalier and Karl Carlston can give the selection the most to think about.

CASHLYN CAVALIER took another step forward when runner-up at Musselburgh earlier this month and remains fairly treated. He can open his account. Lovely Spirit and Karl Carlston can also make their presence felt.

Musselburgh runner-up CASHLYN CAVALIER is taken to show further progress and go one better. Reddeef is second choice.

14:27 Redcar Handicap (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Soft ground may not be ideal for PROJECT DANTE, but he arrives with the best recent form following a success over C&D last month. The five-year-old looked value for more than the winning margin on that occasion, and it may be that Dusk Dame gives him the most to think about after placed efforts the last twice. Completing the shortlist are Mattice, Object and Parisiac.

Last-time-out C&D winner PROJECT DANTE has to prove himself on the ground but, given that he still has plenty of handicapping scope, he's worth siding with in a race that lacks depth. Object and Dusk Dame both arrive in form but don't appear to be as well drawn as the selection.

Parisiac is dangerous down in class but PROJECT DANTE (nap) is taken to defy a 2lb rise for his C&D win.

14:35 Fakenham Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Although headed in the dying strides on his Rules bow when runner-up in an Aintree bumper in May, winning point-to-pointer MIAMI MAGIC impressed with how he travelled. This sharp track is sure to suit Stuart Edmunds' charge and the five-year-old is taken to make a winning hurdles debut. The biggest threat is Kilbarry Hill, who is likely to enjoy another go at this 2m4f distance. D'jo Dela Barriere may chase the pair home.

A tough race to assess with 3 stable-switchers in opposition. Of those, MIAMI MAGIC looks the pick on the back of a narrow second in a point-to-point bumper at Aintree in the spring. Kilbarry Hill returns for a yard in good order and will attempt to put his hurdles experience to the best possible use.

The vote goes to point winner MIAMI MAGIC, who went close in his sole bumper and looks interesting on this switch to hurdling.

14:45 Uttoxeter Handicap Chase (Class 3) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

A race in which few can be confidently ruled out, so only a tentative vote goes to HOE JOLY SMOKE. Dan Skelton's charge shaped with plenty of promise when finishing second on his handicap hurdling debut in a hot race at Newbury last winter, and this mark could prove to be well within range on his chasing bow. Resplendent Grey was last seen running out a ready winner at this track over hurdles in May and he must enter calculations going chasing for the first time. Given the connections of point-to-point winner Myretown, it would be no surprise if significant improvement was forthcoming now he gets a fence.

Claims can be made for all of these, but MYRETOWN arguably has the most potential going chasing for the first time so gets the vote. Likeable pair Autumn Return and Malaita have the advantage of experience over fences so they head the dangers.

An open race can go to MYRETOWN who showed decent form over hurdles last season and can improve now he's going chasing.

14:55 Haydock Handicap (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

This course could bring the best out of FORTELEZA, who has shown a tendency to race on the front and appeals after a solid display when second on her nursery debut at Redcar last month. The daughter of Zoustar looks worth chancing with first-time cheekpieces added for this wide-open event. Station X is notable with Sean D Bowen able to utilise his 3lb claim, while Nebrook Dream, a heavy-ground winner at Leicester, also commands respect under a 6lb penalty.

NEBROOK DREAM saw off an in-form rival when scoring on similarly deep ground at Leicester last week and a 6 lb penalty may not stop him if in similar form. A market move for William Haggas nursery newcomer Mamma Maria would make her a possible big threat, while Forteleza should also be on the premises if translating last month's Redcar form to this softer surface.

The way she's going, FORTELEZA appears set to improve another place and get off the mark. Herecomesthebear is second choice.

15:02 Redcar Stakes (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

RULING MASTER stepped forward considerably from an inauspicious debut when fourth at Yarmouth and he probably won't need a similar level of improvement to make it third-time lucky. Talismans Time and One More Chrome made decent introductions, while The Lost Canvas came agonisingly close to landing the odds at Hamilton, although the winner did nothing for the form next time. Space Raider has experience to call upon, whereas Convergent samples competitive action for the first time, but Karl Burke's stoutly-bred newcomer is definitely worth a second look.

TALISMANS TIME showed a bit to work on when third at Newcastle and can find the required improvement. Space Raider and Ruling Master head the dangers.

On current racecourse evidence, THE LOST CANVAS gets the vote ahead of Ruling Master, Talismans Time and Space Raider.

15:10 Fakenham Handicap Chase (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Chase debutant Call Blue is likely to prove popular given the yard's red-hot form and she must enter calculations with James Turner claiming a handy 7lb. However, JEUNE BELLE appeals as more of a chasing type on her opening bid over the larger obstacles. A mark of 108 looks workable for Lucy Wadham's mare and she is bred to excel in this sphere. C&D winner Omaha Wish has the ability to figure as well.

The market can prove useful with a few and it may be worth chancing chase debutante CALL BLUE. Runner-up on 2 of her 3 starts over hurdles since returning from a lengthy absence, her stable continue to fire in the winners and it would come as no surprise to see her make an impact now chasing from a lowly mark. Jeune Belle on her first try in this sphere and C&D winner Omaha Wish head up the dangers.

This looks tricky but bumper/hurdle winner JEUNE BELLE should have a future at this new discipline and she gets the vote.

15:20 Uttoxeter Handicap Chase (Class 4) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

The Wrekin has shown an aptitude for chasing and, having broken his duck in this discipline at Market Rasen when last seen, he warrants serious consideration on his return. However, an absence since August 2023 combined with the burden of top-weight makes this a tough ask. With that in mind, a chance is taken that DUSAUTIOR can take advantage of a potentially lenient mark and double his career tally with trip and ground ideal. Mixedwave and Tedwin Hills are other notable contenders.

Preference is for TEDWIN HILLS, who has only had a handful of starts over fences and hails from a yard amongst the winners. Mixedwave and Vision de Maine rate the principal dangers.

A chance is taken on very unexposed 5yo VISION DE MAINE, who is open to significant improvement on this chase/handicap debut.

15:30 Haydock Handicap (Class 4) 5f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

TRILBY has occupied the runner-up spot on each of his last two starts, with the latest of those coming at York a week ago. He'll need a strong pace to aim at, but he may get just that with the likes of Angel Shared and Secret Mistral in here. The Twilight Son gelding will have no problems with the ground and he can earn a richly-deserved success. Seantrabh was an eye-catching third at Redcar recently and ought to have every chance from 1lb higher, while Moonstone Boy should not be underestimated.

SEANTRABH did well to finish third from an unfavourable draw at Redcar last time and, from a lenient mark, he's worth siding with. Trilby has been holding his form admirably this season and ran with credit in a more competitive race than this at York a week ago, so he's regarded as a big danger, while Secret Mistral isn't without hope either.

In-form TRILBY (nap) has a good chance of gaining a third Haydock success and first over 5f. Seantrabh is feared most.

15:37 Redcar Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

TEMPER TRAP was rewarded for some excellent efforts in defeat when accounting for Ey Up Its Jazz by the best part of four lengths at Leicester last week. He is 2lb well-in under his penalty compared to his revised rating and is worth sticking with. The 5lb turnaround probably isn't enough for Ey Up Its Jazz to gain his revenge, although he could close the gap. Treasure Storm took a step back in the right direction when third at Thirsk and is down to a handy mark.

TEMPER TRAP took advantage of his reduced mark at Leicester and this looks a good opportunity for him to follow up under a penalty. Ey Up Its Jazz is entitled to finish a bit closer to the selection on 4 lb better terms so can follow him home again.

The in-form TEMPER TRAP is taken to confirm last week's Leicester placings with Ey Up Its Jazz despite meeting him on worse terms.

Now three from three for her current stable, CALLIN BATON ROUGE impressed when bringing up the hat-trick over an extended 2m at Stratford last month and she gets the vote to go in again despite a 12lb hike. Honneur D'Ajonc took advantage of a sliding mark when returning to winning ways over an extended 2m1f at Fontwell latest, and he is feared most upped 6lb, while Toonagh Warrior also merits consideration.

TOONAGH WARRIOR held his form well last season and, with a return to this trip well worth exploring, he's fancied to make a successful reappearance. 15:55 Uttoxeter Handicap Hurdle (Class 2) 20f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

A comfortable winner at Kempton when last seen, DARGIANNINI is the most appealing option despite the lengthy absence since last November. However, given none of the others have had a recent outing, that might not be such an issue. Ballybegg is a C&D winner who starts the new campaign on a workable mark, while Pretending enters calculations from the foot of the handicap off just 7lb higher than her Cheltenham success in April.

The Harry Derham stable has very much clicked into gear in recent days and DARGIANNINI can make a successful return to action. Lac de Constance has a good record fresh and is second choice ahead of Olly Murphy's new recruit Pyramid Place.

Kerry Lee's BALLYBEGG (nap) often gives his true running here and the handicapper has given him every chance of returning to form.

16:05 Haydock Handicap (Class 3) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Irish raider Mercurial was just touched off at Roscommon on Monday and he should be a real threat under Sean D Bowen. Drama, who won at Kempton last month, has yet to prove himself on soft ground, but his pedigree suggests conditions should be fine and he can mount another stern challenge off 4lb higher. However, the vote goes to HYPERFOCUS, who finished sixth in the Coral Sprint Trophy at York on Saturday and looks to hold excellent credentials.

MERCURIAL revels in these underfoot conditions and was better than ever at Roscommon on Monday, so he looks primed for a very bold bid. Drama bagged a nice pot on the AW last time and is a huge threat if carrying on the good work to turf, with Hyperfocus also of interest down in class.

Topweight WOVEN gets the vote returned to Haydock. Irish challenger Mercurial is second choice.

16:12 Redcar Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Ratafia claimed this prize 12 months ago, but he has to compete off a 17lb higher figure now and has appeared in the assessor's grip. In contrast, DARBUCKS is 1lb well-in for his back-to-form Ayr triumph last week and he can strike again while the iron is hot. Diamondsinthesand has hit the crossbar twice as favourite since a Ffos Las victory and he excels when the mud is flying. Angel Of The Bay was too keen over a mile at Musselburgh and will be happier back at this trip.

ANGEL OF THE BAY pulled too hard returned to 1m at Musselburgh last time and is worth another chance to confirm the promise of his previous run. Darbucks and Diamondsinthesand head the dangers.

Darbucks will relish the return to slower ground but RATAFIA, last year's winner, can quickly bounce back from his Leicester blip.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

MELTON MOSSY looked an improving sort during the summer months and, although he was well beaten at Newton Abbot last time, this represents an ease in grade for the Evan Williams-trained gelding and he gets the vote to get back on track. Bahtiyar wasn't disgraced when finishing fourth over 3m2f at Fontwell last month and is the main danger back over a more suitable distance. Macari is also considered returning to hurdles after a spell on the Flat, while Double Powerful is on a five-timer after winning at Worcester on Wednesday and he would have every chance if turned out again quickly.

LASER FOCUS has shaped nicely so far over hurdles for James Owen and he's in form from the Flat, so he's worth taking a chance on. 5-timer seeking Double Powerful is a major player if taking up the engagement (only ran two days ago) and Highway One O Five is worthy of respect sporting first-time cheekpieces.

Improving DOUBLE POWERFUL easily completed his four-timer at Worcester two days ago and can make light of a 7lb penalty.

16:25 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Now that the penny has dropped for UNIQUE SPIRIT after a comfortable breakthrough success over C&D, there is likely to be more improvement forthcoming from the son of Waldgeist off 2lb higher. A major improver on the rise in distance when second on his handicap debut at Ayr, Catalan King can give the selection the most to think about for his in-form stable. Val Bassett is another with the potential to do better over further.

CATALAN KING left previous efforts behind switched to a handicap when finding just one too good at Ayr earlier this month and, with first-time blinkers applied to eke out that bit extra, Ed Bethell's charge is fancied to go a place better on all-weather debut at the expense of Unique Spirit, who opened his account over C&D recently and remains of interest from just 2 lb higher. Val Bassett looks best of the remainder.

With his best efforts in handicaps having been delivered over C&D on his last three starts, UNIQUE SPIRIT has the least to prove.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

CABHFUILFUNGI chased home an odds-on favourite of Dan Skelton's over this C&D 12 days ago and, due to be nudged up 1lb in the future, he is taken to cope with the quick turnaround and put his match-fitness to good use. Lebowski is a notable option on his debut for a new yard and, along with Neigh Botha, he warrants close scrutiny in the betting. Similar comments apply to Quick Sharpener despite his 592-day absence.

TORNEO isn't a chasing type on looks but he has the benefit of a 4-y-o allowance and is from a yard that has done well with similar types in recent years. Cabhfuilfungi was a bit flattered by his proximity to the winner but still shaped pretty well sent chasing over this C&D on return 12 days ago and rates the main threat in what looks a difficult race to call.

Kerry Lee's CABHFUILFUNGI might be that bit sharper than some of these after going close on his recent chase debut here.

16:35 Dundalk Claimer 11f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

There are a few rated higher, but AUTOCRAT may prove the answer to a tricky contest. The No Nay Never gelding didn't run too badly over further at Thurles recently and all his wins have come on this surface, including two over this trip. Firstman is rated 85 but his recent form is uninspiring, although he does have the ability to be a big player dropping into this grade. His stablemate Nibiru has a mark of 80 and didn't run too badly in a Curragh handicap last time. He is another for the shortlist.

Successful on both previous starts in claiming company, FIRSTMAN is selected to end a lengthy losing run with a return to this venue firmly in his favour. Stablemate Nibiru won here earlier in the year and he can provide most resistance, with Jaafel, Timourid and Acotango just a handful of others to consider, too.

Out of form on turf, FIRSTMAN could play a big role on his C&D run back in March

16:40 Haydock Handicap (Class 3) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

On The River escapes a penalty having landed an apprentice handicap at York last Friday and he is of significant interest. Firebrand, who won a maiden at Roscommon on Monday, is another to consider pitched into handicaps, but the verdict is for PEARL EYE. The four-year-old acts on testing ground and boasts figures of 3-6 over this course and distance.

ON THE RIVER escapes a penalty for his victory at York last week so is the obvious one, with Pearl Eye another to consider back in a handicap.

The withdrawal of Bullet Point leaves the door open for ON THE RIVER to follow up his York win. Firebrand is feared most.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

TIMES EDITION lost out in the stewards' room last time but in receipt of 8lb from Walsingham, who looks certain to be her main market rival based on official ratings, this looks like an excellent opportunity to gain compensation. That said, the latter has not been with current connections for long and he will appreciate a return to novice company. Stipulation completes the shortlist.

WALSINGHAM clearly derived plenty from his opening run for new connections when third in handicap company 11 days ago and this looks a good opportunity for him. In receipt of weight all round, Times Edition, who lost a race in the stewards' room last time, is the obvious danger.

This will surely develop into a match between WALSINGHAM and Times Edition, with a narrow preference for the former,

16:55 Fakenham Handicap Chase (Class 4) 21f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Pearly Island bumped into a useful chaser when finishing a staying-on second over 2m4f at Huntingdon when last seen in April, and he commands the utmost respect off the same mark on his return. That said, with match-fitness on his side, it may pay to side with NICKELFORCE. He impressed when scoring comfortably over an extended 2m6f at Stratford last month and, upped 6lb, he looks the one to side with. Awesome Foursome is respected most of the remainder.

NICKELFORCE was consistent over hurdles and improved to score in good style on chase debut at Stratford 6 weeks ago. Impressing with how he travelled that day, a 6 lb rise shouldn't prevent another bold showing with further progress anticipated. The returning Pearly Island and Kankin are others to consider.

This can go to NICKELFORCE, who found plenty of improvement with a stylish win on his chase debut at Stratford last month.

17:00 Newcastle Handicap (Class 5) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SOMETHING wasn't for catching when scoring with something in hand over C&D earlier in the week and Jedd O'Keeffe's charge is turned out again quickly under a 6lb penalty, which could prove manageable. Miss Monte Carlo has generally held her form well throughout her first season, while Glasses Up hasn't quite matched the performance that saw him score at Ayr over 1m2f in August but is now just 1lb higher.

SOMETHING has come into his own since forcing tactics where employed, running out a dominant winner from the front over C&D 3 days ago. Wisely turned out under a penalty, he holds sound claims in his follow-up bid. Arazzo remains with a bigger effort in his locker and is feared, along with another 3-y-o, Miss Monte Carlo.

If turning out again after his all-the-way win over C&D on Tuesday, SOMETHING (nap) should be hard to beat despite the 6lb penalty.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

PROLIFIC PROFILE is beginning to live up to his name. A winner at Bangor last month before recording a comfortable success over C&D earlier this month, Katy Price's gelding remains open to further improvement and is fancied to complete the hat-trick. Villainess was unable to justify favouritism at Perth in May but with a hood applied for the first time, she could step forward. Runner-up over an extended 2m7f here last time, Twp Stori is interesting dropped in distance.

PROLIFIC PROFILE is going the right way now and, having got the better of a well-backed stable switcher on his most recent outing over C&D, he makes plenty of appeal in his hat-trick bid. Villainess was a shade disappointing back in handicap company at Perth in May but it's still relatively early days in her career and she's not one to give up on just yet based on her earlier form. Quian undoubtedly has something to prove but he's been given a real chance by the assessor.

A few in here could have done without the recent rain but it might actually suit MOTAZZEN who was runner-up here three starts ago.

17:10 Dundalk Handicap 11f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

CHURCH MOUNTAIN handled the step up in trip well here last time and there may be another one in him over this extended 10 furlongs. The Pride Of Dubai gelding finished off well to score by a convincing length and a quarter and a 5lb rise for that victory doesn't look harsh. Elsa's Pride is another C&D winner who has to be respected. She battled well when scoring here last month and is only 4lb higher. Special Angel has been holding her form well and is another who has to come into calculations.

Preference is for ELSA'S PRIDE, who made a successful debut on this surface here last month and hasn't been harshly treated by the handicapper for that success. Church Mountain and Beauparc should also go well.

Slight preference is for REDEMPTIVE POWER to reverse a recent C&D defeat by Elsa's Pride

17:20 Redcar Handicap (Class 6) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

A few of these have a bit to prove, but that can't be said of STAR START, who finished a creditable third under Charli Parker at York last month. Ruth Carr's four-year-old will undoubtedly appreciate an ease in class and from an unchanged mark, he can regain the winning thread. Jaminoz has been consistent all season and could be on the premises once again, although Roman Secret, whose best turf efforts have come with some cut in the ground, should also be taken seriously.

ISLE OF WOLVES has a decent record in this type of event for this rider and is on a good mark on the pick of his form. Star Start arrives in top form so is next best ahead of Bushfire, who's had excuses of late.

Heavy ground could give Jaminoz the initiative but otherwise preference is for STAR START.

17:30 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

FACOULTY seems to be getting the hang of things since beginning life in nurseries and she looks the one to beat if building upon a strong runner-up effort over this distance at Southwell last month. Causin A Commotion ran well enough as favourite when fourth on his handicap debut at Wolverhampton and he must enter calculations, along with the unexposed Dutch Finale after a gelding operation.

DUTCH FINALE appeals as a likely improver in handicaps for the Boughey yard and gets the vote, with confidence in his chance increased should the betting vibes be strong. Facoulty ran well in a competitive nursery at Southwell last time and is second choice ahead of Causin A Commotion.

Another chance is given to CAUSIN A COMMOTION who was well backed when a staying-on fourth on his Wolverhampton nursery debut.

17:40 Uttoxeter NH Flat Race (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Fergal O'Brien often does well with his bumper horses and his pair DREAM SHADOW and Strong Run are expected to go well, with preference for the former. The mare fetched 100,000 pounds after winning a point-to-point last year and made a positive start to life under Rules when third over C&D in April. Doctor Dino filly Service Minimum has to be of interest for the Skeltons, while others to note include Varinia and Georgia's Charm.

DREAM SHADOW showed plenty of ability when third over C&D on debut back in April and, with further improvement on the cards, Fergal O'Brien's mare is fancied to go a couple of places better at the expense of Georgia's Charm, who was sent off a warm order on her recent yard debut but was ultimately left with too much to do. Debutantes Strong Run, Service Minimum and Walkingtheline all tick plenty of boxes on paper so round off the shortlist.

Fergal O'Brien's easy point scorer DREAM SHADOW is taken to build on her promising C&D debut third and make a winning seasonal return

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

PSALM didn't do a lot wrong when going down by a head to the in-form Squire Danagher here last week and may be able to strike again. The Sea The Stars gelding tried to nick it from the front, kicking a couple of lengths clear turning in before getting nabbed in the closing stages. He is only 1lb higher now. San Andreas is something of a standing dish around here and Hugh Horgan gets a good tune out of him. He has been dropped half a stone since his last run at the venue. Walhaan is another who likes it here - he is a dual C&D winner - so also has to be considered.

GESTURE posted his best effort yet when runner-up at Punchestown last month and has a fine record here. He makes fair appeal. Psalm and San Andreas are feared most.

Just denied here last week under a canny front-running ride over 1m4f, PSALM (nap) can go one better back down in trip

18:00 Newcastle Stakes (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

There were plenty of positives to be gleaned from TUNDRA ROSE's debut third at Glorious Goodwood and she rates as the one to beat. The David O'Meara-trained filly is not expected to have any issues with the Tapeta surface and she can fend off Storm Lady, who has done little wrong in her two placed efforts to date and another prominent showing is forecast. North Star is the most appealing of the newcomers and is worth a check in the betting.

Having been well supported, TUNDRA ROSE shaped with considerable promise when third behind a subsequent Group 3 scorer on debut at Glorious Goodwood back in August and, with progress on the cards, she can make it second time lucky. Storm Lady and Glamorous Marlene head up the dangers, though market confidence behind Nightsinwhitesatin or North Star would look significant.

Storm Lady can go well again but TUNDRA ROSE shaped with considerable promise on her Goodwood debut and is preferred.

18:15 Dundalk Handicap 7f  Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

There looked to be scope for plenty more improvement from KARAZHAL when he won his maiden here last month. The Profitable gelding got going late when getting up close home over 6f and going another furlong looks like it can only help. Zambales was a touch unlucky in running when second on his handicap debut at Navan nine days ago and could be the danger off just a 1lb higher mark. Wizard Of Odds is the first runner on home soil for newly-licensed trainer Stephen Thorne and he is an interesting contender having beaten King Thistle when last seen taking a Down Royal maiden in July.

KARAZHAL improved markedly from his debut to score here last time and the longer trip should be in his favour, so he gets the nod over Zambales, who was beaten narrowly last time. Wizard of Odds also has some potential.

EDERGOLE'S ANGEL has a 20lb pull in the weights with King Thistle on their Curragh meeting and she can take full advantage

18:30 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Layaali was a respectable fourth at Kempton on Monday and must enter calculations reverting to Tapeta. However, MONTICRISTO BOY is slightly more compelling after his latest C&D second and compensation could be on the cards racing off an unchanged mark. Better is expected from course winner Kilteel on her return to this venue and, despite the drop in distance being a slight concern, Ed Dunlop's filly isn't taken lightly.

MONTICRISTO BOY has run well to be runner-up in both AW nurseries and may be able to open his account now. Last month's course scorer Kilteel is respected back on AW, while Layaali was a good third in a similar race on her previous Newcastle visit.

Monticristo Boy and Layaali look solid but A FINE CLARET appeals as a potential improver now he's handicapping at a low level.

18:45 Dundalk Handicap 7f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

AKEELA didn't get the run of the race when sent off favourite at Listowel last month, and she might be able to bounce back here with Alan Persse claiming a valuable 7lb. A surprise winner at Naas in July, she ran well in two subsequent starts at Cork. Placed three times in recent months, Seas And Oceans certainly wouldn't be winning out of turn. He finished ahead of the selection when last seen at Listowel and is sure to have plenty of supporters in this competitive affair. With promising apprentice Paddy McGettigan aboard, Monzoon warrants respect, while others for the shortlist are Epaulawn, Chica Power and Ateenosix.

It's interesting that Colin Keane retains the ride on CHICA POWER who is well treated on the form she showed here last winter. Akeela can have a line put through her latest Listowel effort and had been in good form prior to that. Seas And Oceans and The Cola Brasil also make the shortlist.

This looks a great opportunity for AKEELA to get her head back in front. The stiff 7f should suit her perfectly

19:00 Newcastle Maiden (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

JODHPUR BLUE has steadily improved with each run this season and posted a solid second at Southwell last week. This may prove to be his easiest assignment to date and a breakthrough victory could be imminent. Manhattan Mirage rates as an obvious threat on the back of his runner-up effort at Yarmouth recently, with Kisdon Force looking best of the remainder.

MANHATTAN MIRAGE has form good enough to win a race like this and is given one more chance. Jodhpur Blue is the obvious danger ahead of last week's Southwell third Kisdon Force.

Manhattan Mirage sets the standard but KISDON FORCE shaped well on debut and can reverse those placings with Jodhpur Blue.

19:15 Dundalk Handicap 7f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

A runner-up over the course and distance on her last two starts, MAGS certainly wouldn't be winning out of turn. The highest rated runner in the line-up, the Footstepsinthesand bay looks the one to beat. A good third on her debut for current connections at Bellewstown earlier this month, Feature This is sure to have plenty of supporters. Yet to win over this trip, she does have four course successes to her name. Beaten by just half a length in an 18-runner contest at Navan last week, Jackie Brown is another leading hope, while others to consider are Adam's Boy and Clarinbridge, who both finished third when last seen.

MAGS is a 3-y-o on the up, which cannot be said for most of these, so she looks the way to go. Jalo lurks on a dangerous mark so he's a threat, along with Jackie Brown.

Another tricky handicap but MARY BAGOT could be ready to put her best foot forward on what will be her second start after an absence

19:30 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

HURSTWOOD made the most of a lenient mark when he put a race to bed without much fuss at Redcar in August and, having been unfavourably drawn when failing to follow up at Ripon, this C&D winner reverts to Tapeta with solid claims from a still-workable rating. Variety Island is interesting with impressive apprentice Jack Doughty claiming 5lb, while the three-year-olds La Boo and Sergeant Mayer are other respected contenders.

This is the lowest band of handicap that LORD ABAMA has contested and following a respectable return to the AW here 3 weeks ago, he looks the way to go. Sergeant Mayer is likely to give it another good go, with La Boo another to consider.

The vote goes to HURSTWOOD, a C&D winner who returns to the AW for the first time since finishing runner-up here last November.

19:45 Dundalk Handicap 7f  Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

A difficult contest to assess, with both Ger Lyons and Stephen Thorne double-handed. The latter saddles two UK imports, with his SAYIFYOUWILL the selection. The most experienced runner in the line-up, the six-year-old has nine wins to her name and was successful on her most recent outing at Newmarket in August. Midream is the other Thorne representative and she too warrants respect, having finished third in a Listed contest at Haydock in May. The Lyons pair of Vivienda and Sumptuary Law are on an identical mark of 86, with Colin Keane opting to partner the former. Handicap debutant Just For One Day is of definite interest with James Ryan claiming 3lb, while Sweetest can't be dismissed in first time blinkers.

VIVIENDA has been steadily progressive in handicaps this term, winning twice prior to a good third in first-time blinkers (discarded here) at Fairyhouse 25 days ago. She's of interest again and earns the vote ahead of stablemate Sumptuary Law. Curragh maiden winner Just For One Day is another to consider with further progress anticipated now handicapping.

Ger Lyons holds a strong hand with Sumptuary Law and VIVIENDA, the latter preferred on what is only her second AW start

20:00 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

TRIPLE FORCE has been threatening to win a race of late and is worth another chance after several good efforts in defeat. There are dangers aplenty, however, and support in the betting for the likes of Love Warrior, who swaps cheekpieces for a first-time visor, and recent C&D winner Barleybrown would also have solid foundations and will need serious thought. Pallas Lord loves this course and cannot be ruled out in his bid for an eighth win here.

Despite being unable to justify strong support over this C&D a fortnight ago, TRIPLE FORCE still ran a sound race and was a shade better than the result too, so he remains of serious interest. Love Warrior could do with a sound pace to aim at kept at 1m but he's a threat in a change of headgear, along with C&D regular Barleybrown.

A trappy event in which Craig Lidster's pair CROWN'S LADY and Triple Force can fight out the finish.

20:15 Dundalk Maiden 6f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Andy Oliver has had three winners at Dundalk in recent weeks, and the Co Tyrone handler might be able to strike again here with KEEPCALMANDSAILON. A fast finishing second when 125/1 at Navan last week, the Bated Breath chestnut might go a place better now. The highest rated of those with a mark, Mint Man is sure to have plenty of supporters. Placed five times from 11 outings, it'll be disappointing if he's not involved towards the business end. A reproduction of her penultimate start would see Supreme Success go close, while it's difficult to forgive Pansy Poe after she was soundly beaten at 2/7 when last seen at Bellewstown.

MINT MAN didn't shape at all badly when finishing midfield in a Curragh handicap 2 weeks ago and, back in a maiden lacking depth, he looks well up to playing a significant role. Keepcalmandsailon remains open to improvement and is feared, along with Pansy Poe.

KEEPCALMANDSAILON was a big eyecatcher when second to a better-fancied stablemate at Navan last week and can go one better
