|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (10) (11/8 +21%) The Mediator |
11/8(+21%) | (10) The Mediator 11/8, Fairly useful hurdler. In frame last 5 starts, latest when respectable second of 15 in maiden hurdle (3/1) at Gowran (16f, good to soft) 12 days ago. Every chance he can go one better reunited with Jack Kennedy. Bumper winner has finished in the frame loads of times over hurdles; holds Silas Marner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (10/1 -67%) Nelson Muntz |
10/1(-67%) | (7) Nelson Muntz 10/1, 13/2, returned to form when second of 6 in maiden at Killarney (11.2f, heavy) 9 days ago. A fair bumper performer, he could have a say on hurdles debut. Was 3rd in a bumper; just denied in a Killarney Flat maiden last time; considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (16/1 -167%) Colonel Nelson |
16/1(-167%) | (4) Colonel Nelson 16/1, Second on his only point start but ran to just a poor level when ninth of 14 in bumper at this course (16f, soft, 8/1) on debut back in May. Makes hurdles debut. Second in a point; beaten 21l in a strong bumper at this track in May; down in class today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (80/1 -567%) Another Glendaars |
80/1(-567%) | (1) Another Glendaars 80/1, 11/1, shaped as if in need of the experience when eighth of 11 in maiden hurdle at Downpatrick (18.8f, good) on debut 4 months ago. First run for yard after leaving James Andrew Fahey. Some promise in a Downpatrick maiden on debut but plenty more is needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (9/1 +18%) Silas Marner |
9/1(+18%) | (9) Silas Marner 9/1, Fared better than previously over hurdles when fourth of 15 in maiden hurdle at Gowran (16f, good to soft, 66/1) 12 days ago, running on late. Each-way shout. Placed in two bumpers; best hurdle run came at Gowran last time; go well but needs more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) (200/1 -400%) Darcys Song |
200/1(-400%) | (5) Darcys Song 200/1, Doyen gelding. Dam unraced. Likely outsider on debut. By a useful sire but this late-starter is best watched. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Runner-up on his two most recent starts, THE MEDIATOR can register a first win over flights. A bumper winner at Down Royal on his racecourse debut back in 2021, the Gordon Elliott-trained gelding has yet to add to that sole success. However, having shown promise both over hurdles and on the Flat of late, the seven-year-old should get his head back in front here. Silas Marner stayed on from a long way back when fourth behind the selection at Gowran Park last time. If ridden closer to the pace on this occasion, the Charles O'Brien-trained gelding can get closer. Recent Listowel bumper winner Cappucino also has to be respected on his return to hurdling.
THE MEDIATOR is running consistently well, and this looks a golden opportunity for Gordon Elliott's 7-y-o to belatedly open his account at the expense of Cappucino, who was allowed the run of the race when getting off the mark on reappearance in a Listowel bumper recently and now has another crack over obstacles. Silas Marner and Nelson Muntz are another couple of interest.
Having looked an improved horse when winning on return in a Listowel bumper recently, CAPPUCINO(nap) can back that up over hurdles.

1st (1) (5/2 +0%) Bowling Buddy |
5/2(+0%) | (1) Bowling Buddy 5/2, Winning Irish pointer and confirmed promise of Rules debut when landing a novice hurdle at Cartmel in August. Progressed again switched to handicaps when scoring at Perth (16.2f, soft) 3 weeks ago and capable of better again. Double penalty to carry but will go on improving as stamina tested. 2-3 over hurdles and this 3m point winner is open to further improvement now up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (11/8 +39%) Ebony Warrior |
11/8(+39%) | (2) Ebony Warrior 11/8, Little show in 2 bumpers but different story since switched to hurdles at Worcester, landing a 2m novice in ready fashion in July. Further progress when runner-up on both subsequent starts (handicap debut latest) and looks sure to go well back in novice company. Worcester maiden hurdle winner who was second in handicap there last time; leading claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (20/1 -25%) Job |
20/1(-25%) | (9) Job 20/1, Fourth sole start in Irish points (May 2023) and showed more than on Rules debut 11 weeks earlier when fourth of 11 in bumper at Market Rasen (16.6f, good to soft) in April. Market can guide expectations now sent hurdling. Encouraging runs when fourth in a point and a bumper; could give a good account. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (9/1 -29%) A Moments Madness |
9/1(-29%) | (3) A Moments Madness 9/1, £30,000 5-y-o, Conduit gelding. Brother to modest hurdler Sunshine Girl, and half-brother to modest hurdler Fair Minded. Runner-up sole start in Irish points (Feb 2024). Bought for £30,000 after finishing 2nd in an Irish point; brings potential to rules debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (13/2 +54%) Martin Plage |
13/2(+54%) | (10) Martin Plage 13/2, Easy point winner who made a solid start under Rules when third at Cheltenham in October 2023. Bit underwhelming at Sandown next time and proved a let-down after 5 months off at this course (16f, heavy) back in March. Needs to get back on track now hurdling and that is possible. Failed to kick on from promising bumper debut but not ruled out on first hurdle start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (12) (7/1 -75%) Serious Chat |
7/1(-75%) | (12) Serious Chat 7/1, Doyen gelding who shaped with definite promise on both starts for Yvonne Latta in Ireland and built on that to open account on stable debut 3 months on at Stratford (16.3f, good) recently, rallying to edge ahead again close home. Likely type on hurdles bow. Bumper winner; pedigree indicates the step up in trip will be a firm plus on hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (33/1 -175%) Helsgetaway |
33/1(-175%) | (8) Helsgetaway 33/1, Built on promising debut when runner-up in Newcastle bumper last December and not far off that level 4 months on when third at Carlisle (17f, heavy) in April. Worth a second look on return/hurdles bow. Displayed ability in bumpers and bred to be suited by the step up in trip on hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (13) (100/1 0%) She Won't Mind |
100/1(0%) | (13) She Won't Mind 100/1, Won a point in May 2023 but only poor form in a bumper and novice hurdle since. Returns from 10 months off and can only be watched on what she has done so far. Point winner but well beaten last November on first two rules starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (250/1 -150%) Forest Blaze |
250/1(-150%) | (6) Forest Blaze 250/1, Bumper debut fourth at Newcastle wasn't completely devoid of promise but beaten a long way on both starts over hurdles subsequently, latest after 6 months off at Hexham (16.2f, good) 12 days ago. Upped in trip but hard to see him featuring. Hasn't shown enough across his three starts to suggest he'll be making an impact today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (11) (125/1 -25%) Myboymax |
125/1(-25%) | (11) Myboymax 125/1, Six-time Flat winner, the latest over 2m at Catterick in June. Did no better than on his hurdling debut back in 2021 when tailed-off fifth at Sedgefield (16.8f, good) just over 3 weeks ago and handicaps after this will be more suitable. Won on the Flat in August but at a modest level; tailed off at 33-1 over hurdles last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (7) (250/1 -67%) Grand Geste |
250/1(-67%) | (7) Grand Geste 250/1, Down the field in 2 bumpers and showed nothing sent hurdling after 3 months off at Hexham (16.2f, soft) back in May. Upped in trip but can only be watched on return. Down the field at big odds in both bumpers and pulled up at 125-1 on hurdle debut in May. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (5) (125/1 -25%) Danno's Dollar |
125/1(-25%) | (5) Danno's Dollar 125/1, Little impact both starts in bumpers for Sandy Thomson and similar comment apply for this yard over hurdles, always behind after 6 months off at Hexham (16.2f, good) recently. Upped in trip and looks one for the longer term. Fair eighth on debut in Ayr bumper last November but has struggled on his three runs since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (40/1 -150%) Balcomie Breeze |
40/1(-150%) | (4) Balcomie Breeze 40/1, Brought down on debut at Kelso in November 2022 but showed what he can do with a brace of placed efforts on his next 2 outings. Progress halted in a higher class of bumper back in March 2023 and not seen since ahead of his hurdles debut. Makes hurdle debut after long layoff but showed promise in bumpers; not ruled out each-way. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Ebony Warrior's latest Worcester second was given a big boost when the winner went on to land the Persian War and, on these terms, he is preferred to the hat-trick seeking Bowling Buddy. They do have to concede weight and maybe A MOMENTS MADNESS is worth a look. The five-year-old was bought for 30,000 pounds shortly after a promising debut in an Irish point, and the horse who beat him then went close at the Punchestown Festival.
A few in with chances in the season opener but it is hard to get away from BOWLING BUDDY, who arrives chasing a hat-trick and Olly Murphy's 6-y-o will go on improving now his stamina is drawn out further. Ebony Warrior hasn't looked back since sent over hurdles and he may have to settle for a third silver medal in a row, with hurdling debutant Serious Chat and A Moments Madness another couple fancied to be involved, too.
3m point winner BOWLING BUDDY arrives on a hat-trick and there can be optimism this step up in trip will prompt further improvement.

1st (5) (4/1 +43%) Law Of Supply |
4/1(+43%) | (5) Law Of Supply 4/1, Showed some promise on his sole bumper start and on 2 of his 3 starts over hurdles. Should make a chaser (off mark in Irish points at third attempt). Point winner in 2022 (sold for £80,000); low-key over hurdles; noted on chase debut.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (16/1 -14%) Icaque De L'isle |
16/1(-14%) | (7) Icaque De L'isle 16/1, Fairly useful chase winner in France and has performed to a similar level for current yard, arguably posting his best effort to date on these shores when runner-up at Fakenham (21.2f, soft) in November. Below par next 3 starts, however, including at Huntingdon when last seen in March. 6lb lower than when runner-up at Fakenham (2m5f) in November; first run since wind surgery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (17/2 -6%) Stringtoyourbow |
17/2(-6%) | (9) Stringtoyourbow 17/2, Fair winning hurdler who has shown similar form in this sphere, creditable fifth of 13 in handicap chase (13/2) at this course (20f, good) 83 days ago. Has to be taken seriously off a slipping mark. Some signs that he's getting to grips with chasing (0-5); easing mark; more required.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (13) (28/1 -133%) Felton Bellevue |
28/1(-133%) | (13) Felton Bellevue 28/1, Generally reliable and gained a deserved first win for over 2 years at Southwell in March. Decent fourth at Stratford following month and off since. 3-31; fairly weighted and usually consistent, but might need this off a 178-day absence.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (5/2 +25%) Flash In The Park |
5/2(+25%) | (4) Flash In The Park 5/2, Fetched £350,000 after winning an Irish maiden point by 20 lengths in November 2022 but modest form at best in 3 starts over hurdles. Has left Ben Pauling and sent chasing right away by new trainer. Has had breathing operation. Interesting contender. Point winner (sold for £350,000); no joy hurdling; chase debut for new yard; interesting.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (12) (11/2 +54%) Coconut Twist |
11/2(+54%) | (12) Coconut Twist 11/2, Point winner at the start of the year and made a successful chase debut at Newton Abbot (21f) in May. Has shaped as if still in form all 4 starts since, trip too far latest. Not discounted. Reasonably solid over fences; costly late mistake at Fontwell (3m2f) latest; ticks boxes.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (12/1 +14%) Lermoos Legend |
12/1(+14%) | (2) Lermoos Legend 12/1, C&D winner who found good run of form coming to end at this course (16.5f, soft) 19 days ago. Significantly back up in trip. Now 4lb lower than when successful over C&D (good) in summer of 2023; modest run latest.. |

8th (3) (40/1 -150%) Record High |
40/1(-150%) | (3) Record High 40/1, Fontwell bumper winner in February 2022. However, very lightly raced since and modest form only in 3 novice hurdles. Makes chase debut (runner-up on the first of 2 starts in Irish maiden points). Possible that the switch to fences can assist; fitness to prove off a six-month break.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) (28/1 -133%) Call Me Arthur |
28/1(-133%) | (11) Call Me Arthur 28/1, Found improvement when winning 10-runner handicap hurdle at Southwell (24.3f, heavy) in May. Makes chase debut. Made all at Southwell (3m) in May; 7lb higher for first attempt over fences; a possible.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (1) (28/1 -100%) In Rem |
28/1(-100%) | (1) In Rem 28/1, Patchy form last season but shaped as if needing the run at Warwick on return and is potentially on a good mark back over fences. Change of headgear. Down the field (beaten 27l) on recent Warwick comeback; drops into a Class 5 in blinkers.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (8/1 +11%) Shuil Ceoil |
8/1(+11%) | (8) Shuil Ceoil 8/1, Confirmed earlier promise when winning 15-runner handicap at Exeter (21f, heavy) in December. Some decent efforts in defeat since and should make a chaser (every chance when fell last sole start in Irish points). Reasonably consistent this year; weakening fourth over 2m4f here in June; chase debut.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (11/1 -22%) Duke Of Moravia |
11/1(-22%) | (10) Duke Of Moravia 11/1, Responded well to headgear when off the mark in 7-runner handicap hurdle at Wincanton (21.4f, heavy, 9/2), digging deep. Off 6 months. No headgear for this chase debut but he's the type to do better over fences (runner-up sole start in points). Off the mark over hurdles in first-time cheekpieces at Wincanton (2m5f) in April; chasing?. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (14) (40/1 -21%) The Big Reveal |
40/1(-21%) | (14) The Big Reveal 40/1, Third sole start in maiden points in Ireland and made a fairly promising start under Rules when fourth of 15 in a Chepstow maiden (19.5f). Went backwards next 2 starts, though. Off 20 months. Makes chase debut. Absent since February 2023 and rates as an unlikely candidate on chase/handicap debut.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (100/1 -400%) Marettimo |
100/1(-400%) | (6) Marettimo 100/1, Fair handicap chaser who shaped as if retaining his ability after 17 months off when fourth of 5 in handicap chase (33/1) at Fontwell (26f, good to soft) 12 days ago. This should reveal more. Four-time chase winner; should improve for Fontwell comeback run; soft ground risk-factor.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
A fiendishly difficult contest to get proceedings underway and only a tentative vote can go to SHUIL CEOIL. Neil Mulholland has his string in fine form and his representative, who was largely consistent over hurdles, looks certain to appreciate the switch to fences and may well progress upped in distance. Point-to-point winner Flash In The Park wasted little time over timber and must be respected on his stable debut, while C&D winner Lermoos Legend could pick up some minor money.
STRINGTOYOURBOW possibly went too soon here in July and is worth another chance off a tempting mark. Flash In The Park is an interesting opponent switched to chasing by his new yard, while Duke of Moravia is another chase debutant to consider.
Wind surgery, a switch to fences and a change of scenery could unlock the door for the expensive Irish point recruit FLASH IN THE PARK.

4/5(+36%) | (1) Archivist 4/5, Progressive colt. 16/5, second of 8 in maiden at Newmarket (7f, soft) 19 days ago. Form pick. Runner-up in last two runs and he sets a useful standard here; strong claims upped in trip. |

40/1(-186%) | (4) Herculeus 40/1, 15,000 gns foal, 5,000 gns yearling, Expert Eye colt. Dam twice-raced sister to smart winner up to 1¼m Gabr out of smart 7f/1m (including at 2 yrs) winner Spacious. 12/1, fifth of 7 in novice at Newbury (7f, soft) on debut 25 days ago, very slowly away. Likely to improve. Well-held fifth of seven on Newbury debut and needs major improvement upped in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (12/1 -60%) Lunar Orbit |
12/1(-60%) | (5) Lunar Orbit 12/1, Twice-raced gelding. Third of 6 in novice at Redcar (7f, good, 7/2) 21 days ago. Has shown ability in two 7f runs but he needs significant improvement upped in trip. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
A maiden that has been won by Eldar Eldarov and King Of Steel in recent years, so it's definitely worth watching back with a view to 2025 and beyond. ARCHIVIST has chased home a couple of exciting colts on his last two starts and was ahead of Lunar Orbit when second to Saturday's Zetland Stakes winner Starzintheireyes at Leicester. The 600,000gns son of Dubawi sets a fair standard, although New York Minute offered encouragement on his Doncaster introduction and should step forward. Smoken and Displaying made six-figure sums as yearlings and have to be watched closely on debut.
ARCHIVIST improved again when runner-up at Newmarket and looks more than capable of winning a race of this type. New York Minute shaped well in what was likely a decent Doncaster maiden, while his stablemate Smoken looks the pick of the newcomers.
It is hard to get away from Sir Michael Stoute's ARCHIVIST, who sets a useful stadard and is open to more progress upped in trip.

1st (4) (10/1 -82%) Hasten Slowly |
10/1(-82%) | (4) Hasten Slowly 10/1, Fair Flat winner who displayed similar form when off the mark in a Tramore maiden hurdle (2m) in August. Below best on the level at Naas later that month but she remains open to improvement now handicapping in this sphere. In good form in mixed campaign during the summer, maiden hurdle winner at Tramore. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (13/2 +0%) Vischio |
13/2(+0%) | (7) Vischio 13/2, Unreliable sort. 3/1, pulled up in handicap hurdle at Tipperary (16.2f, good to soft) 10 days ago, racing well off pace and pulled up soon after the second (saddle slipped). Far from the easiest to predict. Saddle slipped at Tipperary after she had been reluctant to start, well supported then. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (8/1 +33%) Cash The Cheque |
8/1(+33%) | (8) Cash The Cheque 8/1, Latest win in hurdle at Tipperary in May. 8/1, respectable fifth of 10 in handicap hurdle at Clonmel (19.9f, good) 13 days ago. Drop back in her favour on that evidence. Appeared not to stay 2m4f at Clonmel recently, can do better over this shorter trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (5/2 +58%) Ta Na La |
5/2(+58%) | (6) Ta Na La 5/2, Winner in hurdle at Bellewstown in July. Creditable fourth of 8 in handicap hurdle at Tramore (20.3f, good to soft, 5/2) 6 days ago, paying for a big move into contention. Not taken lightly back down in trip. Beaten 5l by First Dare at Tramore in September, over 7l fourth at same venue last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (13/2 +41%) Betty Dutton |
13/2(+41%) | (9) Betty Dutton 13/2, 22/1, fourth of 6 in maiden at Killarney (11.2f, heavy) 9 days ago. Switches from Flat to hurdles now but her losing run now stretches back over 2 years. Last three runs on Flat, consistent over hurdles but has failed to add to a maiden win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (5/2 +0%) First Dare |
5/2(+0%) | (1) First Dare 5/2, Steadily progressive mare who posted a career best when winning 13-runner handicap hurdle at Tramore (16.6f, good) 28 days ago, by 5 lengths from Ta Na La. Assessor applies further pressure but she could yet have more to offer. Beat Ta Na La decisively at Tramore, 8lb higher now but probably capable of more progress. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (12/1 -85%) Saddle Her Up |
12/1(-85%) | (2) Saddle Her Up 12/1, Fair hurdles winner, off the mark in mares' maiden at Fairyhouse (18.2f, soft) in January. Struggled at listed/Grade 3 level thereafter but switch to handicaps a definite plus now starting out for new yard/after 7 months off. Market can guide. Maiden winner last term, struggled when raised in class, fair handicap prospect, new yard. |

8th (5) (22/1 +0%) Optional Mix |
22/1(+0%) | (5) Optional Mix 22/1, Latest win in chase at Kilbeggan in June. 12/1, sixth of 8 in handicap hurdle at Downpatrick (21.8f, good) 66 days ago. Down in trip. Soundly beaten in two runs over hurdles since handicap chase success at Kilbeggan in July. |

|PU| (3) (25/1 -355%) Timeless Piece |
25/1(-355%) | (3) Timeless Piece 25/1, Winner in hurdle at Down Royal (17f, heavy) in January. 12/1, last of 11 in handicap hurdle at Tramore (2m) in May, beaten early final circuit. Needs to hit the ground running back from a break. Poor Tramore run in May, previously ran well at this venue until falling at the last. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
An emphatic winner at Tramore last time, FIRST DARE can follow up for trainer Liz Doyle. Having finished runner-up in last year's renewal of this race, the six-year-old is sure to have had a repeat bid as a target for some time. Despite being 8lb higher than last time, the six-year-old won with such authority that she can shrug off that rise. Having been reluctant to race at Tipperary earlier this month, Vischio was eventually pulled up when detached in rear. A three-time winner over hurdles, the Dick Donohoe-trained mare is seriously well handicapped relative to her Flat form. Lightly raced over jumps, Hasten Slowly is open to further improvement.
FIRST DARE took another step forward on the back of a break when a ready winner at Tramore 4 weeks ago and she may well be up to defying the assessor again on that evidence. Ta Na La, who chased home the selection that day is a threat once more on these revised terms. Hasten Slowly and Cash The Cheque are others fancied to be in the mix.
Though more effective in testing conditions VISCHIO is well handicapped relative to her Flat form and can be excused her last run

1st (5) (4/6 +47%) Primoz |
4/6(+47%) | (5) Primoz 4/6, Changed hands for a chunky sum after finishing runner-up on both starts in Irish points and bookended his novice season over hurdles with victories at Ayr, latterly on handicap debut (2m) in April, notably travelling strongly. Useful prospect now chasing on return. 2-4 over hurdles and trainer's horses frequently make better chasers; interesting prospect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (5/2 +38%) Pay The Piper |
5/2(+38%) | (2) Pay The Piper 5/2, Useful winning chaser who was holding his form well in the spring and lacked nothing in fitness as he ended a losing run following 4 months off in 6-runner handicap chase at Kelso (17f) 4 weeks ago. Nudged up 3 lb and he's one to consider again. Snapped losing sequence at Kelso last month and could play another leading role. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (28/1 -75%) Grey Diamond |
28/1(-75%) | (3) Grey Diamond 28/1, Useful handicap chaser at best but little impact in handful of starts for Gordon Elliott and he's not looked a winner in waiting in pair of starts for present stable, 10¼ lengths fifth of 6 to Pay The Piper in handicap chase at Kelso (17.1f, good) 28 days ago. 10yo who continues to drop down the weights, but for good reason; has to raise his game. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (14/1 -40%) Sir Tivo |
14/1(-40%) | (4) Sir Tivo 14/1, Veteran who added another pair of small-field chase contests to his CV last summer. Exploits mixed in recent months but arrives having run well when second of 6 in handicap chase at Stratford (17f) 39 days ago. Possibilities with a repeat. Respectable efforts on two of his last three starts and might not be far away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (1) (11/1 -340%) Escapeandevade |
11/1(-340%) | (1) Escapeandevade 11/1, Hurdles winner who took his form up a notch over fences with cheekpieces enlisted last term, bringing up the hat-trick at Kelso (17f, soft) when last seen in March. Career-high mark to defy on return but respected nevertheless with Brian Hughes again in the plate. 3-3 in cheekpieces early this year; goes without headgear for this reappearance. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Pay The Piper had Grey Diamond well in arrears when successful at Kelso, while Escapeandevade ended his last campaign on a real high, completing a hat-trick at the same venue. The suspicion is that the former remains the better treated of the pair, but both are vulnerable to the far less exposed PRIMOZ. An expensive recruit from the pointing field, he enjoyed a good novice hurdling campaign, but chasing is presumably what he was bought for.
Ex-pointer PRIMOZ really impressed with how he travelled when gaining a second hurdles victory at Ayr back in the spring and, appealing as every inch the type to make an even better chaser, he could be worth siding with on return before the benefit of market clues. Pay The Piper following his Kelso victory last month and Escapeandevade, who rattled off a hat-trick when last seen in the spring can also feature.
The unexposed 6yo PRIMOZ may well be a chaser to follow for Lucinda Russell and he is taken to make a winning start over fences.

1st (1) ( ) El Elefante |
() | (1) El Elefante , Fairly useful hurdler, scoring twice over this sort of trip last term. Below par when last seen at Perth in April but goes well fresh and warrants respect on chase debut. Useful novice hurdler; is in safe hands with L. Russell; obvious potential as a chaser.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) ( ) Glimpse Of Gala |
() | (3) Glimpse Of Gala , Dual hurdles winner in 2022/23 who made a promising start over fences when runner-up in this contest 12 months ago. More miss than hit over hurdles thereafter but returns with yard in better form. Runner-up in this on chase debut last year; wasn't at best back over hurdles thereafter.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) ( ) Ilovethenightlife |
() | (4) Ilovethenightlife , Fairly useful hurdler who found improvement when scoring at Plumpton (25f) in January. Below that level on final 3 starts but looks the type to make a better chaser. Underwhelming (did manage a Plumpton win) last season; a bit to prove switched to fences.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) ( ) West Balboa |
() | (5) West Balboa , Useful hurdler who made a winning return last term at Aintree in November. Back to that sort of form when creditable third of 21 in handicap hurdle at same course (24.7f, good to soft) when last seen in April and holds obvious claims on chase debut here. Won the Lanzarote in 2023; rounded off last season with fine third at Aintree; chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) ( ) Getaway Theatre |
() | (2) Getaway Theatre , Point winner who was well suited by emphasis on stamina when making a successful hurdle debut over 2¾m at Stratford in November. Couldn't really build on that, however, and faces a stiff task on switch to chasing. Stratford mares' maiden winner (2m6f); work to do on unfavourable terms; chasing debut.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Third when trying to land a premier handicap at Aintree's Grand National meeting for the second season running on her latest appearance, WEST BALBOA was head and shoulders above her rivals over the smaller obstacles and will take all the beating if responding well to this switch to fences. Glimpse Of Gala hit the crossbar on her sole previous chase start and she might be the main threat. El Elefante heads the remainder.
WEST BALBOA is the clear pick of these on hurdles form and will be hard to beat if taking to this discipline. Glimpse of Gala has chasing experience in the book and may provide the chief threat.
A good quality mares' novices' chase. Dan Skelton's WEST BALBOA, the 2023 Lanzarote winner, sets the benchmark, looking tough to beat.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
MISS WONG attracted some market support ahead of her Haydock debut and although she ultimately had to settle for third, she was only beaten a length behind smart prospects with previous experience. With the run expected to bring her forward, she edges the vote over fellow Study Of Man filly Revoir, who is a half-sister to the stable's Coronation Stakes runner-up Remarquee. Magic Runner is another debutant to note.
Ralph Beckett captured this prize last year and is fancied to repeat the feat with REVOIR who is bred to be useful. Fellow newcomer Magic Runner also appeals on paper and could emerge as the main danger with Haydock debut third Miss Wong appealing as the pick of those with experience.
This may be decided between MISS WONG, whose debut looked easily the most promising effort among those who have run, and Revoir.

In-form gelding PRAY TELL can complete the hat-trick under James Smith. A winner at Kilbeggan in early September, the Desmond Kenneally-trained eight-year-old followed up with an impressive success at the Listowel Festival. A strong traveller, he should relish this tight track where he can come from off a likely fast pace. The front-running Baltic Bird is sure to make this a proper test under Oakley Brown. Runner-up in the Q.R. Handicap at Galway, the Bill Durkan-trained five-year-old remains nicely treated. Recent Gowran Park winner Park Of Kings arrives here in good form, so has to be respected for the Paul Nolan stable.
PRAY TELL turned a competitive-looking handicap at Listowel into a rout 3 weeks ago and while the assessor has reacted with a 10 lb rise it may not be enough to prevent the hat-trick. Park of Kings and Barry Lyndon also arrive on the up so head the opposition.
A chance is taken on MISSUS BEETON to turn the tables on Park Of Kings from last time.

Sold from James Ferguson 20,000 gns in July but joined another good yard ahead of hurdles bow. Failed to fulfil early promise on Flat; bought for 20,000gns in July; hurdle/stable debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Opec was well on the way to justifying market support when hitting the deck at Market Rasen, with Play Pretend the chief beneficiary of that spill. The winner then only got as far as the first at Uttoxeter in a race in which Battle Of Omdurman occupied the runner-up spot. The most interesting of these juveniles, though, is easily QUANTOCK HILLS, who was snapped up for 130,000 euros after atoning for a near-miss on debut back at Dieppe second time out.
OPEC was still travelling powerfully in a clear lead when falling 2 out at Market Rasen a fortnight ago and in receipt of weight all round, compensation may well await. Quantock Hills brings solid French form to the table so is feared most.
The filly OPEC looked set to win impressively on her hurdle debut at Market Rasen only to fall two out, and she can make amends.

25/1(0%) | (12) Lily's Ruby 25/1, Nayef mare. Dam fairly useful 2m-19f hurdle winner. Betting can prove a good indicator. Fourth foal; dam point/2m-2m2f hurdle winner; yard 0-10 in bumpers last five seasons.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Runner-up on his Rules debut over C&D last month, START AGAIN looks sure to step forward. He can put that experience to good use and go one better, although Ocean Walz, who has had to settle for second on both of his career starts so far, should produce another solid performance. The booking of Nico de Boinville for the Flat-bred Aim Straight catches the eye and the son of Australia warrants a market check.
The market should reveal plenty but TORMUND GIANTSBANE landed his only start in points so is taken to make a winning start for the Skeltons now. Fergal O'Brien saddles two interesting contenders in Start Again and Sun Art and they can chase home the selection in that order. Kingsley completes the shortlist.
From a stable in from and as a half-brother to bumper winner, KINGSLEY can make a winning debut, with a very useful 10lb claimed.

7/2(-17%) | (7) Law Degree 7/2, 15/8, career best when winning 6-runner nursery at Ripon (8f, good to soft) 18 days ago. Looks competitive on form. Has run in seven nurseries, winning the two of them on soft; may well have ground to suit. |

3/1(+25%) | (4) Orchard 3/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Fourth of 11 in novice at Kempton (8f, 50/1) 21 days ago, considerately handled. Makes handicap debut. Open to progress. Improved again when staying-on fourth of 11 in Kempton novice (1m, AW debut) last time. |

7/1(-8%) | (8) Summer Of Light 7/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Good second of 6 in nursery (11/2) at Leicester (7f, heavy) 8 days ago. Player. Clearly best efforts on soft/heavy, placed in nurseries on last two outings; latest was 7f. |

22/1(-57%) | (10) Claim To Glory 22/1, 9/1 and blinkered for 1st time, eighth of 10 in nursery at Chester (7f, soft) 25 days ago, not clear run. Disappointing last two starts, blinkered at Chester (7f, good to soft) last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (12) (13/2 +54%) Romantic Spirit |
13/2(+54%) | (12) Romantic Spirit 13/2, Thrice-raced maiden. 25/1, third of 6 in maiden at Yarmouth (9.1f, good to firm) 29 days ago, slowly away. Makes handicap debut. Market may guide on this nursery debut, which should give her much more of a chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (1) (16/1 -100%) Knights Gold |
16/1(-100%) | (1) Knights Gold 16/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Eighth of 9 in maiden (50/1) at Newmarket (8f, good) 61 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Needs to bounce back. Gelded; needs improvement on nursery debut but has potential in pedigree and needs a check. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
A busy first campaign is showing no sign of taking a toll on Law Degree judging by his Ripon triumph, while Summer Of Light is edging closer to the winner's enclosure. They come up against some interesting newcomers to the nursery ranks, though, not least ORCHARD, who has progressed with racing and an initial mark of 69 appears workable. Romantic Spirit, Bright Lily, Commander Flavius and Knights Gold fall into the same bracket.
ORCHARD has seemingly been brought along with nurseries in mind so gets the vote having been a big eyecatcher at Kempton on his qualifying run. Law Degree is feared most having made a decisive last-to-first move at Ripon, with Summer of Light best of the others.
Law Degree and Summer Of Light have shown their effectiveness in soft-ground nurseries. ORCHARD is a promising nursery debutant.

1st (1) (11/4 +39%) Jordans |
11/4(+39%) | (1) Jordans 11/4, Promising sort. First run since leaving Mlle D. Mele when second of 6 in novice chase (2/1) at Listowel (17.7f, good) on IRE debut 24 days ago. Should continue to give a good account. Beaten by longer-priced stablemate at Listowel, good prospect, needs to jump a bit better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (9/2 -80%) Monbeg Park |
9/2(-80%) | (2) Monbeg Park 9/2, Useful hurdler. Latest win in chase at Wexford in July. 5/1, creditable second of 6 in novice chase at Wexford (19.4f, good to soft) 47 days ago. That puts him in the mix. Second-season novice, winner at Wexford in July, second at same venue latest, good chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (5/1 +33%) Broomfield Bijou |
5/1(+33%) | (5) Broomfield Bijou 5/1, Fairly useful winner at 17f over hurdles. Made a winning chase debut but possibly amiss when pulled up in novice chase (5/2) at Listowel (19.4f, soft) 21 days ago, folding soon after 4 out. Won well at Wexford in July, jumped poorly and pulled up in Listowel mares' event. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (7/2 +0%) Pink In The Park |
7/2(+0%) | (7) Pink In The Park 7/2, Fairly useful winner at 19f over hurdles. 9/2, creditable second of 5 in novice chase at Listowel (19.4f, soft) 21 days ago, no match for winner. Major player on these terms. Debut chase winner at Galway, needs to eliminate the errors made at Killarney and Listowel. |

5th (6) (100/1 -52%) Must Be Dreaming |
100/1(-52%) | (6) Must Be Dreaming 100/1, Fair chaser. 13/2, improved to win 9-runner handicap chase at Tramore (16f, good) 28 days ago, cruising clear. Very hard to make a case for at this level. Won a handicap chase at Wexford four weeks ago, unlikely to feature in this company. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (3) (10/3 +5%) Rainbow Trail |
10/3(+5%) | (3) Rainbow Trail 10/3, Fairly useful hurdler who matched that form when winning 5-runner novice chase at Gowran (20f, good to firm, 8/1) on debut over fences 11 days ago, driven out. Open to progress. Handled good ground more effectively than might have been expected when winning at Gowran. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (4) (33/1 -65%) Air Drop |
33/1(-65%) | (4) Air Drop 33/1, Fairly useful chaser. Good third of 6 in novice chase (9/1) at Listowel (17.7f, good) 24 days ago. Getting better with each recent run over the larger obstacles but this is a tough ask. Made mistakes and jumped right when third at Listowel, 9l behind Jordans then. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Twice a winner over hurdles at this venue, MONBEG PARK holds strong claims for trainer Sean Thomas Doyle. Having got off the mark over fences at Wexford in July, the seven-year-old was runner-up to a potentially useful novice back at that same track recently. The Joseph O'Brien-trained Jordans is of definite interest on just his second start in this country. A four-time winner in his native France, the five-year-old made a pleasing Irish debut when chasing home a smart stablemate at Listowel. He should come on plenty from what was just his third run over fences. Willie Mullins' mare Pink In The Park is at her best on good ground so once the rain stays away, she has every chance.
Not the strongest of graded contests, with PINK IN THE PARK just about the pick having got back on track when runner-up at Listowel 3 weeks ago. Jordans and Monbeg Park are feared most.
Twice successful over hurdles at this venue, MONBEG PARK is a second-season novice who can put his experience to good use here

1st (6) (1/1 +70%) Jagwar |
1/1(+70%) | (6) Jagwar 1/1, Good-looking sort who got off the mark in a 5-runner novice hurdle at Carlisle (19.3f, heavy) in February. Similar form when midfield in pair of handicaps thereafter and feasible to think he could have even more to offer as a chaser this term. Lightly raced 5yo; he's a big horse and this switch to fences could be the making of him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (7/1 +13%) Half Shot |
7/1(+13%) | (7) Half Shot 7/1, Perked up by application of blinkers as he capitalised on reduced mark in 10-runner handicap chase at Kelso (21.6f) 4 weeks ago, rallying to edge back ahead final 50 yds. 3 lb rise leaves him handicapping scope but not sure to be in same form. Won in first-time blinkers (retained) at Kelso last month and remains well treated. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (16/1 -191%) Jet Plane |
16/1(-191%) | (1) Jet Plane 16/1, Gained a fourth victory of 2023/24 in comfortable style at Market Rasen (19f) in April. Best not judged too harshly on his final start at Ayr later that month and he's worth considering after 5 months off given he's gone well fresh previously. Pulled up in April when last seen but was on a hat-trick; goes well fresh; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (15/2 +38%) Vintage Fizz |
15/2(+38%) | (2) Vintage Fizz 15/2, Twice a winner of small-field handicap chases at around 2½m in 2023 and went close at Market Rasen on the second of his 3 starts since returning from a break in June. Latest Worcester fifth in August was a below-par display but he's a likely candidate to bounce back. Disappointing last time but in pretty good form previously and he's not discounted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (15/2 -50%) Envious Editor |
15/2(-50%) | (5) Envious Editor 15/2, Bounced back to his best following a point success for Mrs C. Crow in 2m5f Stratford hunter chase in May. Continued good work for new yard, runner-up behind an enterprisingly-ridden winner at Market Rasen (21.4f) 18 days ago. Worth considering from same mark. Creditable second the last twice; can give another good account and he could be involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (13/2 +0%) Cerendipity |
13/2(+0%) | (4) Cerendipity 13/2, Course winner who produced a better round of jumping than was often the case last term when adding to his tally at Bangor (20.3f) back in April, in control when left clear last. Needs to keep the errors at bay back from 6 months off. Two wins during last season's first chase campaign; in with a chance if fully tuned up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (25/1 0%) Arthur's Quay |
25/1(0%) | (3) Arthur's Quay 25/1, Winner of back-to-back handicaps during second half of last year. Lightly raced and largely below form since, last of 6 in handicap chase at Kelso (17.1f) 4 weeks ago. Has fallen 2 lb below last winning mark ahead of this at least. Below last winning mark but this 10yo's form in 2024 has been patchy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (8) (11/1 -83%) Garde Des Champs |
11/1(-83%) | (8) Garde Des Champs 11/1, On a losing run (maiden over fences) and whilst he ran up to his best, he was seemingly outbattled when close-up third of 6 in handicap chase at Kelso (17f) 4 weeks ago. Clearly in good heart but he's not one to be taking short odds about on that evidence. Pretty consistent this season and went close last time, but has a poor 1-25 strike-rate. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
The progressive Jet Plane likely found that his Ayr flop in April came too soon after his Market Rasen success and, despite a career-high mark, he shouldn't be underestimated on his return to action. However, chasing debutant JAGWAR looks just the type who will improve for this discipline. The five-year-old is expected to have been well schooled and a bold bid likely beckons. Garde Des Champs makes most appeal of the remainder.
ENVIOUS EDITOR ran another solid race in defeat whilst having little chance behind an enterprisingly-ridden winner at Market Rasen 18 days ago. He looks worth another chance off his revised mark, with chase debutant Jagwar and the returning Jet Plane heading up the dangers. Vintage Fizz is another in with a shout if defying a lesser effort at Worcester 7 weeks ago.
The sizeable 5yo JAGWAR could be a big improver now tackling fences and he earns the vote ahead of Half Shot.

Dam, 1m-10.5f winner, half-sister to French Grade 1 chase winner Top of The Sky. Won sole start in Irish points (Jan 2024) and looks an interesting newcomer. Bought for £150,000 after Irish point win; yard in form; could go well on rules debut.. |

2nd (3) (11/4 -38%) Big John Wayne |
11/4(-38%) | (3) Big John Wayne 11/4, Winner of sole completed start in points. Shaped like a stayer when third on 21.5f Hereford hurdle debut and in the process of showing improved form at Newcastle when departing heavily at the last (would have won). Off 7 months. Remains with potential. Looked likely winner when falling at Newcastle; longer trip positive; remains of interest.. |

3rd (2) (7/4 +22%) Autonomous Cloud |
7/4(+22%) | (2) Autonomous Cloud 7/4, Has developed into a useful staying chaser since showing promise in novice hurdles in early 2022. Likely to take plenty of beating on belated return to this sphere following a breathing operation. First hurdles start since 2022; goes well fresh; acts on good or slower; interesting.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (4/1 +67%) Galassian |
4/1(+67%) | (5) Galassian 4/1, Successful only completed start in points and ran to a fair level when second of 8 in a 23f Worcester maiden hurdle in October 2022, pulling clear with a useful sort. Offered something to work on when fourth of 7 in novice hurdle at Bangor (23.2f, soft) on first run since in April. Kept on for fourth at Bangor (2m7f, soft) in April; more needed but not written off.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Bumper winner KING ROLY made a successful debut over hurdles over C&D last month. He had more in hand than the winning margin suggests and is taken to shrug off a penalty, with plenty more to come. Big John Wayne returns to action having looked an unlucky loser at Newcastle back in February when falling at the last. Point-to-point winner Clondaw General is related to winners over timber and is worth a second glance debuting under Rules.
AUTONOMOUS CLOUD has developed into a useful chaser since his last run over hurdles so he has the potential to outclass these back in this sphere. Big John Wayne would have won at Newcastle back in February but for a heavy fall at the last so rates the main threat.
The suggestion is BIG JOHN WAYNE, who was in the process of building on a positive debut when coming down at Newcastle and can atone.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
A drop in class will come as a welcome relief to top-weight Aerion Power, whose latest Doncaster third suggests he ought to be more than competitive from an unaltered rating. The son of Kingman does have a bit to prove on forecast soft ground, however, and mudlark LAAFI could provide some value. William Haggas' charge wasn't disgraced when returning from a break at Newbury last month and that form has worked out well. Loyal Touch was nudged up 4lb for his recent Pontefract triumph, but these are his ideal conditions and he is expected to go well again.
George Boughey's MR ALAN has bagged the last two runnings of this and now back at his ideal trip after an encouraging Hamilton fifth last time he is taken to complete the hat-trick. Laafi is weighted to go well and should be all the better for his recent Newbury fourth so rates a big threat. In-form duo Loyal Touch and Aerion Power can both have a say too.
Mr Alan is feared on his bid to win this race for the third year in succession, but OUR GOLDEN ONE (back in trip) gets the vote.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Henry de Bromhead's MINELLA INDO landed this race on his seasonal reappearance last year and could repeat the feat. He was last seen finishing third in the Grand National in April which was a very creditable effort. The admirable King George hero Hewick has tended to need his first run back, so may not be at his sharpest on his first outing since May. Visionarian is race-fit after winning a Grade 2 at Gowran Park recently, while Gordon Elliott's Minella Crooner and Conflated aren't out of it either.
CONFLATED needed the run when well held in this last year but will take some stopping on these terms if anywhere near his best this time around. Fellow Grade 1 winners Minella Indo and Hewick are the obvious threats.
On account of his fine record when fresh, it could pay to side with MINELLA INDO to repeat last year's win in this event.

1st (6) (11/1 -83%) Schmilsson |
11/1(-83%) | (6) Schmilsson 11/1, Fairly useful on Flat for Andrew Balding and was going the right way over hurdles prior to finishing a well-beaten third on his handicap debut in this sphere at Stratford in March. Not hard to see him bouncing back to form on this return to action. Won novice hurdle in February but well beaten on h'cap debut; could go well after a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (9/4 +55%) Williethebuilder |
9/4(+55%) | (5) Williethebuilder 9/4, Looked a good prospect when making a winning start over hurdles for new yard at Uttoxeter (2m) before running well in better company at Cheltenham next 2 outings. Disappointed at Musselburgh and Kempton on final 2 outings but could bounce back after 7 months off. Had breathing op. Won on reappearance last term; highly tried afterwards; returns after wind op; a possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (3/1 -20%) Allmankind |
3/1(-20%) | (1) Allmankind 3/1, Smart hurdler and high-class chaser during his time with Dan Skelton. Had missed 20 months but showed plenty of ability remains when third of 8 in a handicap hurdle at Market Rasen (16.6f) 18 days ago. Good chance if backing that up. Smart hurdler/chaser for Dan Skelton; sound comeback over hurdles last month; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (15/2 +6%) Whizz Kid |
15/2(+6%) | (4) Whizz Kid 15/2, Proved as good as ever when winning this corresponding event last October. Finished fourth at Newbury prior to falling heavily at the last at Hereford on final outing. Capable fresh and can't be taken lightly. Has had another breathing op. Won this race off 3lb lower in 2023; had a wind op since; interesting contnder. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (5/2 -11%) Tintintin |
5/2(-11%) | (2) Tintintin 5/2, Made good strides forward last season, typically proving strong at the finish to land a big-field handicap at Cheltenham in April. Posted a respectable third in the Swinton Handicap at Haydock the following month and looks set for another productive season. In good form in the spring (two wins and third in the Swinton) and a chance if wound up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (12/1 -20%) Prairie Wolf |
12/1(-20%) | (3) Prairie Wolf 12/1, Improved for the switch to chasing, off the mark at second attempt at Doncaster (20.5f) in December and added to that with victories at Catterick (19.2f) and Haydock (19.9f). Ran well on return last season but is presumably having a pipe-opener ahead of a return to chasing. Won three h'cap chases over 2m4f last term; better treated over hurdles; 2m not ideal. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Although foiled in his hat-trick bid, TINTINTIN lost little in defeat when finishing third in the Swinton Hurdle at Haydock in May. Fergal O'Brien's charge should have more to offer this season and he's taken to make a winning reappearance. Grade 1-winning chaser Allmankind offered plenty to work with on his stable bow over hurdles at Market Rasen last month and isn't taken lightly. Whizz Kid and Schmilsson are also noted.
An interesting small-field handicap with the tentative vote going to SCHMILSSON. He was progressing nicely in this sphere prior to disappointing on his handicap debut at Stratford when last seen and strikes as the sort to bounce back on this return to action, especially with his stable amongst the winners. Tintintin and Allmankind are feared most in that order.
Fitness is the key here and the choice is ALLMANKIND (nap), who ran a sound race at Market Rasen last month after a long break.

1st (8) (5/6 +44%) The Kemble Brewery |
5/6(+44%) | (8) The Kemble Brewery 5/6, Created a fine impression when going 2-2 in bumpers at Cheltenham but looked in need of the experience when failing to land the odds on his hurdles (2m) debut there, making mistakes before fading into third. Remains one to be firmly interested in returning for in-form yard. Dual bumper winner (both good to soft); goes well fresh, stable in good form; can go well.. |

2nd (7) (13/8 +51%) Jurancon |
13/8(+51%) | (7) Jurancon 13/8, Successful in Irish points and looked a good prospect when going 2-3 in bumpers at Hereford in March. Looks sure to go well again now sent hurdling. Irish point and dual bumper winner, all on soft/heavy; should make a good hurdles debut.. |

5th (4) (11/1 +8%) Hartington |
11/1(+8%) | (4) Hartington 11/1, Promising third of 15 in novice hurdle at Market Rasen (20.6f, good to soft, 18/1) on his hurdles bow 6 months ago. Back down in trip but open to progress and well in the mix. Ability in two bumpers and on hurdling debut (2m4f); drops in trip and is not written off.. |

7th (1) (40/1 -264%) Saint Cyr De Pail |
40/1(-264%) | (1) Saint Cyr De Pail 40/1, £28,000 buy from good French NH family and built on debut to land 5-runner novice hurdle at Exeter (16.7f, good) 180 days ago. Should have more to offer. Improved to score (2m, good) at Exeter in April; penalised for that and is respected.. |

8th (6) (28/1 -300%) Jumbo Mills |
28/1(-300%) | (6) Jumbo Mills 28/1, Kapgarde gelding. Dam, fairly useful hurdle/chase winner in France, half-sister to French hurdler/chaser (17f-19f winner) Aflatoun. Has had a wind op but still highly respected on his debut for leading connections. Dam French hurdle/chase winner, half-sister to three French winners; from top yard.. |

9th (10) (50/1 -257%) Kap De Triomphe |
50/1(-257%) | (10) Kap De Triomphe 50/1, Overcame inexperience to make a winning debut in bumper at Naas in February. Changed hands for £55,000 subsequently and he's very much one to consider now going hurdling. Debut Irish bumper winner; stable quiet but no surprise to see a good hurdles debut.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (12) (150/1 -275%) Bobbigrey |
150/1(-275%) | (12) Bobbigrey 150/1, Twice-raced maiden, much better effort when fourth of 11 in novice hurdle at Sedgefield (19.8f, good to soft) 15 days ago. Possibilities. Needs significant improvement to get involved.. |

11th (2) (250/1 -525%) Fan Magnet |
250/1(-525%) | (2) Fan Magnet 250/1, Twice-raced maiden for Stuart Crawford, fifth of 9 in bumper at Uttoxeter (15.8f, soft) 99 days ago. Much respected on his yard/hurdles debut. Some promise in bumpers for previous yard; trainer in form; may improve now hurdling.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Dual bumper scorer THE KEMBLE BREWERY failed to help his cause with a bad mistake at the first at Cheltenham on his hurdling debut. He could only manage third on that occasion, but will have benefited from the experience and can feature on his reappearance. The penalised Saint Cyr De Pail struck at Exeter on his hurdling bow back in April and could have a say in proceedings, while bumper winners Jurancon and Kap De Triomphe are worthy of a second glance.
Plenty of these bring potential but Kim Bailey's THE KEMBLE BREWERY sets a very good standard so is taken to make light of a lengthy absence for a yard among the winners and add to his useful bumper successes. Jurancon has also looked a good prospect in bumpers and is next on the list, with fellow hurdling newcomers Kap de Triomphe and Jumbo Mills worthy of consideration too. Hartington and The Winslow Boy are two others who need factoring into this intriguing maiden hurdle.
The suggestion is THE KEMBLE BREWERY who has conditions to suit, represents a stable going well and looks one to catch when fresh.

Looks well weighted. Runner-up to an odds-on favourite over 7f here (5lb lower) penultimate start; form pick.. |

33/1(-65%) | (2) Realise The Dream 33/1, Regressive form in 4 starts, last of 11 in nursery (12/1) at Thirsk (7f, good to firm) 68 days ago, slowly away. Makes polytrack debut. Modest efforts so far, and backpedalling on RPRs; is set to tackle a new trip on AW debut. |

4th (6) (11/1 -38%) Genghis |
11/1(-38%) | (6) Genghis 11/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 66/1, seventh of 9 in novice at this course (6f) 26 days ago. This trip much more suitable so he's a potential improver on nursery bow. Glimpses of ability in three attempts in 5f-6f novice/maidens; new trip for handicap debut. |

7th (5) (11/2 +21%) Beauhaather |
11/2(+21%) | (5) Beauhaather 11/2, 13/2 and tongue strap on for first time, respectable fifth of 14 in nursery at this C&D 65 days ago. Blinkers replace cheekpieces. Running to a broadly consistent level; headgear tweak as further improvement is sought.. |

8th (10) (66/1 +0%) Ardads Dream |
66/1(+0%) | (10) Ardads Dream 66/1, 50/1, eleventh of 12 in nursery at Chelmsford City (7f) 18 days ago. Looks limited. Six-race maiden who is yet to post an RPR of 35-plus; nigh impossible to consider.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Montbeliarde looked set to go close before being hampered at Salisbury last time out and he must enter calculations reverting to the all-weather. However, BEAUHAATHER edges the verdict. The Mohaather gelding shaped better than the bare result suggests when fifth over C&D in August and first-time blinkers could prove just the tonic. Nursery debutant Spirit Lead Me is worth a second look in the betting.
MONTBELIARDE is well handicapped on his runner-up effort at this venue over 7f on his penultimate start and given a break following a lesser effort at Salisbury, he's fancied to get back on the up. Beauhaather should be on the premises again, while an improved showing from Genghis tackling a more suitable trip for nursery debut would come as no surprise.
A low-key opener. The form pick is MONTBELIARDE who finished runner-up to an odds-on favourite over 7f here on penultimate start.

17/2(-6%) | (6) I'm Next 17/2, Thrice-raced maiden. Creditable fourth of 9 in maiden at Ripon (6f, good to soft, 18/1) 18 days ago. Much respected on his handicap debut. Return to 5f looks in order and he should bring potential to this nursery debut. |

17/2(+29%) | (3) Jm Jhingree 17/2, Winner at Redcar in May. 14/1, seventh of 8 in nursery at Chester (5.1f, soft) 32 days ago so needs to bounce back. Backward steps in 5f nurseries on last two outings, despite being back on soft last time. |

5th (1) (4/1 +0%) Pont Neuf |
4/1(+0%) | (1) Pont Neuf 4/1, 2 wins from 6 runs this year. Latest win at Salisbury in May. 13/2, good fifth of 8 in nursery at Chester (5.1f, soft) 32 days ago, racing closer to pace than ideal. Weighted to go well off a 2 lb lower mark. Steps back in the right direction on last two outings still leave him with work to do. |

6th (4) (9/4 +25%) Lovat Scout |
9/4(+25%) | (4) Lovat Scout 9/4, Lightly-raced winner. Winner at Thirsk in July. Creditable third of 10 in nursery (13/2) at Catterick (5f, soft) 14 days ago, very slowly away. One for the shortlist. 3rd in nursery at Catterick (5f, soft), making up lots of late ground after awkward start. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Havana Gila (third) finished ahead of Pont Neuf (fifth) and Jm Jhingree (seventh) at Chester last month, and there are no obvious reasons to suggest the form will be reversed. That said, preference is for I NEED YOUR LOVE, who seemed to handle cut in the ground at Carlisle before recording a narrow success at Redcar three weeks ago. Raised 3lb in the ratings, the son of Zoustar may well be up to the task. Lovat Scout is another to consider.
None of these can be ruled out but the vote goes to PONT NEUF who wasn't seen to ideal effect when fifth at Chester last time out and can now capitalise on a 2 lb weights drop and secure a third victory of the season. Redcar scorer I Need Your Love is next on the list ahead of Jm Jhingree and Loyal Scout.
Havana Gila and Lovat Scout have good claims but I NEED YOUR LOVE got off the mark in encouraging style last time.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
DECIMATION represents an in-form stable and has prospects after a good run in second at Listowel. He was clearly outgunned by the winner, but the money came for him that day in a better class of race and he was nicely clear of the remainder. Cafe Del Mar has been hurdling for the most part but, the one time she was sighted over fences, she finished a good second at Wexford. Ardaghs Choice finished a place behind her in third at Wexford and is noted, while Greenway Machine is an honest veteran.
In an open race, it could be worth chancing READ TO RETURN, who figures off a handy mark and has the assistance of Derek O'Connor. Decimation and Cafe Del Mar head the list of dangers.
DECIMATION ran a solid race on only his fourth chase start last time so can go one better today.

|F| (11) (20/1 +39%) Ismael |
20/1(+39%) | (11) Ismael 20/1, Modest form at best over hurdles and he's just out of the weights for chase debut. Irish point winner; won novice h'cap hurdle in January; disappointing after; chase debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Third in a valuable contest over the extended 2m3f at Punchestown in April, this looks a good opportunity for MONTREGARD to get off the mark at the first time of asking over the larger obstacles. Tom Lacey's charge makes most appeal at a venue he scored at on his penultimate start over timber. Storminhome was only narrowly beaten over 2m5f at Ascot in March and a 3lb rise could prove lenient, while I Am Max is also considered.
This could be an early-season novice handicap to follow with HURLERONTHEDITCH just about the most persuasive option given he has experience over the larger obstacles and represents a yard in superb form. Storminhome has made the switch to Dan Skelton so that alone makes him of serious interest, while Montregard is bred to do better over the larger obstacles for his powerful owner.
An unlucky loser on his reappearance last season HURLERONTHEDITCH is taken to get off the mark over fences.

Ann D'arabie |
(12) (15/2 +12%)15/2(+12%) | (12) Ann D'arabie 15/2, Hasn't made much impact in a trio of novice hurdles so far, well beaten at Huntingdon (20.7f, soft) when last seen in January. However, no surprise to see her fare better with tongue strap applied on her handicap debut. Has only shown a modest level of form; tongue-tie added for handicap debut.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (2) (10/1 -18%) Fromheretoeternity |
10/1(-18%) | (2) Fromheretoeternity 10/1, Improved when runner-up in handicap at Wexford (17.2f) in May, before seeming stretched by longer trip when seventh of 18 at Listowel (20.4f, good) the following month. Cheekpieces applied on first run for yard after leaving Declan Queally. Pick of Irish form gives her good claims on stable debut with cheekpieces now added.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (11/2 +8%) Bob O Rhino |
11/2(+8%) | (6) Bob O Rhino 11/2, Winning Irish pointer who made her second handicap start over hurdles a winning one in 11-runner contest at Stratford (18.7f, good) in July, typically ridden positively. Can make her presence felt as she returns from 3 months off. 5lb rise for July's Stratford win looks workable; respected if handling this ground.. |

3rd (13) (5/4 +90%) Well Vicky |
5/4(+90%) | (13) Well Vicky 5/4, Won her first 3 handicaps in 2022/23 and took a step back towards that level when fourth at this C&D in July. Lesser effort next time, but went with more enthusiasm when fifth of 15 at Newton Abbot (18.5f, good) 55 days ago. Not discounted. Three-time winner in 2023 but largely disappointing since; on a very good mark though.. |

4th (7) (12/1 -9%) Sawpit Sienna |
12/1(-9%) | (7) Sawpit Sienna 12/1, Proved at least as good as ever when successful at Taunton (16.5f, good to soft) in January. However, has gone the wrong way from that effort in 3 subsequent outings, down the field at Fakenham when last seen 6 months ago. Out of sorts when last seen but capable hurdler if back on song after a break.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (7/2 +22%) Ryder's Rock |
7/2(+22%) | (8) Ryder's Rock 7/2, With her yard going well, opened her account in 5-runner handicap at Newton Abbot (16.8f, soft) 37 days ago, asserting close home. Capable of making another bold bid now that she's up and running. Off the mark at the 13th attempt latest; worth considering off 3lb higher.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (12/1 +14%) Lady Henrietta |
12/1(+14%) | (4) Lady Henrietta 12/1, Showed more when runner-up in a Stratford bumper in July but hasn't built on that effort switched to hurdling, never a threat when sixth of 9 in novice at Newton Abbot (16.8f, good) last month. Could yet do better now handicapping, though. Has yet to match her bumper promise but she enters calculations on handicap debut.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (18/1 -13%) Dorcas Road |
18/1(-13%) | (9) Dorcas Road 18/1, Bit of promise in a bumper for Ian Williams but no better than mid-division over hurdles so far, albeit unsuited by the steady gallop on handicap debut at Uttoxeter (19.9f, good to soft) in June. First run for yard after leaving Lucinda Russell. Well held on handicap debut and probably best watched starting out for her new stable.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Freddie Gingell and RYDER'S ROCK struck up a good rapport with a game win in a similar event at Newton Abbot last month and must have every chance of following up from just a 3lb higher mark. Ann D'arabie sports a tongue-tie for the first time on her handicap debut for a shrewd yard and must be taken seriously. Miss Goldfire and Stratford winner Bob O Rhino are also feared.
CRYSTAL GLANCE has made a promising start to her career, getting off the mark at the second attempt at Bangor in May, so she is taken to score again with plenty more still to offer as she makes her handicap debut. Ryder's Rock gained her first success at Newton Abbot last month and could be the main danger, ahead of Miss Goldfire,
Bob O Rhino and Ryder's Rock are last-time-out winners but it might be worth chancing the well-treated WELL VICKY.

5/4(+81%) | (7) Mr Ubiquitous 5/4, Sent off 40/1 and was hampered early when eighth of 10 in maiden at Brighton (7f, soft). Off 99 days/gelded and should be more to come from him over 1m with Murphy a positive booking. May do better now handicapping on return from break; booking of Oisin Murphy bodes well. |

2nd (4) (9/2 +0%) Corpus Juris |
9/2(+0%) | (4) Corpus Juris 9/2, Blinkered for first time, creditable fourth of 9 in nursery (8/1) at Chelmsford City (10f) 6 days ago. Can make presence felt. Ran creditably in first-time blinkers last week; one of the main players on form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (17/2 +29%) Good Call |
17/2(+29%) | (8) Good Call 17/2, Creditable fourth of 10 in nursery at Southwell (8.1f, 18/1) 17 days ago. Consistent at her lowly level. Engaged 2.58 Leicester Tuesday. Modest maiden but has made the frame a few times at this level, including yesterday. |

9/1(0%) | (3) We're Done 9/1, 125/1, twelfth of 13 in novice at Chelmsford City (7f) 18 days ago. In good hands and nurseries more suitable. Market check advised up in distance. Has regressive RPRs but this switch to handicap level could well prompt a turnaround. |

5th (9) (200/1 -400%) Astroqualis |
200/1(-400%) | (9) Astroqualis 200/1, First run since leaving Dylan Cunha when sixth of 9 in nursery (50/1) at Yarmouth (8f, good to firm) 27 days ago. Makes polytrack debut with cheekpieces on for first time. Has easily the worst chance on bare figures; headgear needs to make a difference. |

7th (1) (9/2 +25%) Northern Blaze |
9/2(+25%) | (1) Northern Blaze 9/2, Shaped quite well when fifth of 10 in novice at this C&D (80/1) 49 days ago, not knocked about. Makes handicap debut and likely there's more to come. Midfield over C&D on latest novice start; may take a bigger step forward now handicapping. |

8th (2) (13/2 -189%) D Day Harley R |
13/2(-189%) | (2) D Day Harley R 13/2, Very good third of 7 in nursery (6/1) at Leicester (7f, good to soft) 36 days ago. Makes polytrack debut with cheekpieces on and mark looks very fair with 1m expected to suit. Improved effort at Leicester last month on handicap debut; possibilities off same mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (28/1 -100%) Whiskey Glasses |
28/1(-100%) | (5) Whiskey Glasses 28/1, 22/1 and tongue strap on for first time, eighth of 10 in nursery at Southwell (8.1f) 17 days ago. Others more persuasive. Registered her best effort in a seller; down the field in nurseries. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Having posted his best effort to date when finishing third on his nursery bow at Leicester last month, a breakthrough victory could be on the horizon for D DAY HARLEY R. The son of Ardad races off an unchanged mark and the fitting of cheekpieces might eke out the required improvement. Harry Eustace has his string in good order at present and it wouldn't be a surprise to see an improved bid from Mr Ubiquitous. He's feared most, ahead of Northern Blaze.
D DAY HARLEY R still looks a work-in-progress but he showed a lot more when third at Leicester a month ago and with cheekpieces likely to help him, he gets the nod. Corpus Juris can give it another good go, with Northern Blaze and We're Done potential improvers.
As regards the runners who already have nursery form, D DAY HARLEY R is preferred. The handicap debutants are open to improvement.

15/2(+32%) | (9) Ecclesiastical 15/2, Improved on recent efforts to win 10-runner handicap (5/1) at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 16 days ago, comfortably. Handles testing ground so not taken lightly. Impressive on AW last time but upped in class & needs to step up on this year's turf form. |

5th (6) (16/1 -129%) Never Dark |
16/1(-129%) | (6) Never Dark 16/1, C&D winner. Didn't need to improve to win 8-runner handicap at Hamilton (5f, good to soft, 11/4) 16 days ago, eased down. Isn't an obvious sort to follow up. Two wins this year (one over C&D) & underfoot conditions to suit; other pace in the field. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (15/2 -50%) Stash The Cash |
15/2(-50%) | (8) Stash The Cash 15/2, 3 wins from 13 runs this year. Career best when winning 8-runner handicap at Hamilton (5f, good to soft, 5/6) 16 days ago. Up in class for his hat-trick attempt. Won his last two starts but he's up in the weights against stronger opposition here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (7/1 +30%) Hiya Maite |
7/1(+30%) | (3) Hiya Maite 7/1, Latest win at Doncaster in June. 25/1, below form thirteenth of 22 in handicap at Doncaster (5.6f, good) 32 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Back down in class. Front-runner for whom conditions won't be an issue; 2nd in this race last year; contender. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Hiya Maite and Stash The Cash are pacey types capable of setting a searching gallop on the forecast going and have plenty to recommend them. However, a strong tempo could set things up nicely for FANTASY MASTER, who is a dual C&D winner and must hold every chance of further success from the same mark as when a respectable fourth at Ascot most recently, and just 5lb higher than for last month's win at Doncaster. Navello completes the shortlist.
The in-form SOLAR ACLAIM gets the vote with conditions in his favour. Navello also arrives at the top of his game and is next best ahead of Ecclesiastical.
Solar Aclaim is greatly respected but FANTASY MASTER loves it at Nottingham and he's coming here at the top of his game.

Makes chase debut. Not ruled out. Twice burst blood vessels over the summer; better lately; a player if taking to fences. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
A tricky race. FASCILE MODE landed two hurdle races at this track on his way to a peak mark of 133 in that sphere and catches the eye on chasing debut. Danny Mullins will give him a good steer. Hypotenus went off fast in Sligo and was reeled in after the final fence. He ran well for a long way, though, and could be dangerous off the front again. The suspicion is that there is more to come from Nine Graces, who hasn't put it all together in her two races over fences to date. Touch Me Not, Moon D'orange and Wandering Rocks are others pitching for prize money.
A few of these offer potential but NINE GRACES has some useful winning form to her name over hurdles and has shaped well on both her runs over fences to date too so looks the way to go. Hypotenus also enters the equation on the back of his very good Sligo second, with chase debutants Touch Me Not, Fascile Mode and Moon d'Orange also worthy of consideration.
TOUCH ME NOT got off the mark over hurdles at Tramore when last seen and could do better in this sphere.

Won this race off 8lb lower in 2023; did well over fences after that; worth considering. |

Faced no easy task against 2 other winners at Perth on first outing since leaving David Killahena & Graeme McPherson and could have more to offer now upped to 3m. Unexposed; fair third over 2m5f on stable debut last time; no easy task on h'cap debut. |

20/1(-43%) | (5) North Parade 20/1, Struck up a good relationship with William Maggs last winter, completing a Newcastle hat-trick and placed at Wetherby and Haydock after. Found the test inadequate when down the field at Kelso on final outing. Hat-trick of 2m4f wins last season; stays 3m; back from a break; may need the run. |

10th (6) (25/1 -79%) Son Of The Somme |
25/1(-79%) | (6) Son Of The Somme 25/1, Hurdles/chase winner who ran again ran well on stable debut when second of 8 in handicap chase at Newbury (22.4f) in March. However, held back by his attitude when well held at Southwell last time and now returns to the smaller obstacles after a break. Chase/hurdle winner for Brian Ellison; good second on stable debut; back from a break. |

11th (1) (33/1 -136%) Quid Pro Quo |
33/1(-136%) | (1) Quid Pro Quo 33/1, Fairly useful hurdler/chaser who ran no sort of race in handicap chase at Warwick (20f) when last seen 12 months ago. First run for yard after leaving Dan Skelton and worth a precautionary check in the betting contesting his first handicap over hurdles given he's won fresh before. Bumper/hurdle/chase winner for Dan Skelton; off for more than a year; best watched for now. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
DUKE OF DECEPTION hasn't finished outside of the first two home in each of his three starts this year and can continue on an upward trajectory. The seven-year-old won this race last year and despite arriving here 8lb higher, Ben Smith's 7lb claim in the plate will help. Tribal Glory makes his handicap bow and Fergal O'Brien's charge doesn't look unfairly treated off an opening mark of 112, while Do No Wrong is also worthy of consideration.
A competitive finale and it could be worth taking a chance on TZARMIX, who left the impression the run didn't get to the bottom of him at Warwick last time and now has the assistance of Jonjo O'Neill. Fox's Fancy is an interesting handicap debutante with the further step up in trip bound to suit, while last year's winner Duke of Deception and Billy Boi Blue are others to note.
This can go to FOX'S FANCY, who is closely related to Grand National winner One For Arthur and should improve for the step up to 3m.

(9) (9/1 +10%)9/1(+10%) | (9) Grass's Jet 9/1, Lightly-raced maiden who failed to meet expectations, on debut for new yard, when eighth of 13 in handicap hurdle at Bangor (23.2f, good) in June. Others more convincing. Failed to justify strong support on stable debut; not completely ruled out back in trip.. |

A 200-day break failed to stop DOUBLE POWERFUL from completing a hat-trick when he ran away with a conditional riders' event at Kelso 10 days ago and, with back form showing he can cope with a quick turnaround between races, he could be difficult to overhaul from the same mark. Robber's Bridge was a C&D winner when last seen and is a key player if picking up where he left off in July. Midnight Jewel completes the shortlist.
DOUBLE POWERFUL extended his winning run in decisive fashion at Kelso earlier this month and carries no penalty for that victory. He should take the beating here. Robber's Bridge and Rehill Relic may give him most to think about.
Horsesomeharry is of interest on handicap debut but DOUBLE POWERFUL (nap) could prove hard to beat.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Having posted a respectable fifth in the Solario at Sandown in August, the 95-rated HOTT SHOTT sets a strong standard. Although a 7lb penalty for his earlier victory when dead-heating at Goodwood makes life tough in this company, Richard Hughes' colt may just have too much class for them. Eupator offered something to work with on his third-placed debut effort at Salisbury, while Montezuma looks the pick of the newcomers.
HOTT SHOTT has quickly reached a fairly useful level so, despite conceding weight all round, he could be the way to go from a handy draw/partnered by Oisin Murphy. Eupator looks sure to improve from his promising debut third at Salisbury and is feared under Joe Leavy. Godolphin newcomer Montezuma also commands plenty of respect.
Hott Shott is the form choice, while EUPATOR should progress. Some of the newcomers are interesting, most notably Montezuma.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Mehmo encountered similar conditions when he landed an apprentices' race over C&D on his penultimate start and is a key player fresh from a break. So Grateful and previous course winner Enderman can also get competitive on these terms, but recent form suggests MARCHING MAC is thriving on being kept busy. Off just 2lb higher than for his facile Brighton success, he can strike again back on turf after a near-miss from this rating at Chelmsford.
MARCHING MAC rates the pick of these weights so looks the way to go in a race where a few have question marks against them. So Grateful is next on the list on the back of his solid Hamilton third, although both Fortunate Star and Endowed need factoring in too.
Key horse MARCHING MAC (nap) has a fine chance if a busy spell does not catch up with him. Mehmo may capitalise if it does.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
JERRY FROM KERRY looks a likely sort for Emmet Mullins after getting off the mark in a Ballinrobe bumper. He stayed on well to post a four-length victory there and the runner-up franked the form in no uncertain terms with a clear-cut success in Listowel. Friary Road showed his resolution to strike in Listowel and has to come under consideration for Ted Walsh, while Whinney Hill ought to have a future after being beaten by a neck in a point-to-point in February. He has switched to Gordon Elliott for his racecourse career and a market check is essential.
JERRY FROM KERRY confirmed debut promise when beating a subsequent winner at Ballinrobe and he can defy a penalty at the main expense of likely newcomer Whinney Hill.
The runner-up had franked the form of the Ballinrobe race won by JERRY FROM KERRY and he looks capable of deying a penalty

Having been caught late on over 1m at this venue last time, this looks a good opportunity for DARK LYRIC to go one better. This drop in trip can be the perfect tonic for Sean Woods' runner and she can shed her maiden tag at the third time of asking. Better can be expected from Faro Di Notte with conditions likely to suit, while Born To Lead is a newcomer to note.
Not a strong maiden so newcomer BORN TO LEAD, who hails from a talented family, may well be up to the task. Dark Lyric sets the standard on her runner-up effort over 1m here last month and she seems sure to be involved, while First Kiss presumably has a bigger performance in her given the connections she represents.
This can go to DARK LYRIC, who was only just caught in a 1m novice here last month and sets a good standard on this drop to 7f.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
DARN HOT MYSTERY has shown plenty of ability in her two starts to date and this represents a good opportunity for Henry Candy's charge to get her head in front. The Too Darn Hot filly was denied on the line at Lingfield last month and should take all of the beating if building on that effort. Rosso Levanto is feared most after a promising start to her career at Leicester recently, while similar comments apply to Cartwheel.
ROSSO LEVANTO made a bright start in the mud at Leicester last week and could be the way to go with more on the cards switched to AW. Darn Hot Mystery has solid claims, while Cartwheel is a likely improver after a promising debut at Beverley. Prima Diva might be the pick of the newcomers.
Solid contender DARN HOT MYSTERY is first choice ahead of Rosso Levanto and Cartwheel. A few of the newcomers are interesting.

1st (8) (8/1 +20%) Bas Bleu |
8/1(+20%) | (8) Bas Bleu 8/1, 5/1, creditable third of 8 in handicap at Bath (11.6f, good to firm) 42 days ago, rallying into that position late on. Worth considering with a first-time hood now enlisted. 3yo maiden who is largely consistent; possibilities if taking well to hood. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (9/1 -13%) Speriamo |
9/1(-13%) | (2) Speriamo 9/1, Course winner. Latest win at Chelmsford City in September. Very good second of 7 in handicap (11/2) at Newmarket (10f, good) 25 days ago, collared final 100 yds. Mark has edged back up a little more but definite claims again. Back in good form the last twice and remains well treated on historical data. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (11/8 +73%) Loving Look |
11/8(+73%) | (3) Loving Look 11/8, Held on gamely to open her account in an 11f novice here in August. Similar form when third of 9 in handicap (13/2) at Newbury (12f, good to soft) 26 days ago and she's an interesting runner back on this surface/eased in class. Low-mileage 3yo; off the mark at Kempton on penultimate run; respected back here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (15/2 +32%) Salamanca City |
15/2(+32%) | (6) Salamanca City 15/2, Knocking on the door prior to opening her account at Leicester (10f) in July. Shade disappointing after 8 weeks off when sixth of 8 in handicap back there last month but she appeals as a likely type to bounce back. Disappointing last time but may still have more to offer; has shown promise here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (9/1 +10%) True Wisdom |
9/1(+10%) | (4) True Wisdom 9/1, Ran up to best with the run of the race when second at Redcar (10f) on penultimate start. Shade underwhelming when eighth of 10 in handicap at Redcar (10f, good to soft) 21 days ago but not ruled out if bouncing back. Inconsistent this term and proved a disappointing favourite last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (16/1 -33%) Placeholder |
16/1(-33%) | (7) Placeholder 16/1, Dual winner at up to 1m on AW. However, appeared stretched by the trip when sixth of 13 in handicap at Doncaster (10.2f, good to soft, 14/1) 31 days ago. Eased 2 lb ahead of this further step up in trip. Regressed the last twice; doubtful stayer upped further in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) (14/1 +30%) Alvesta |
14/1(+30%) | (10) Alvesta 14/1, Bounced back to best when second at Lingfield (10f) on penultimate start but folded as if amiss when last of 9 in handicap (7/2) at Sandown (10f, good) 28 days ago. Steps up in trip returned to all weather but her record now stands at 0-12. 3yo maiden who has some respectable form; gets weight all round; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (33/1 -313%) Miss Bielsa |
33/1(-313%) | (5) Miss Bielsa 33/1, Successful on debut in maiden at Wolverhampton (9.5f) in January. Absent since finishing well held ninth of 10 on handicap debut at Salisbury (9.9f, good to firm) in June. Mark demands improvement back from 4 months off but it remains early days. Fair form in two runs at Wolverhampton; absent since poor effort on turf in June. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (5/1 +23%) Ever Hopefull |
5/1(+23%) | (9) Ever Hopefull 5/1, Bated Breath filly who again showed fair form when third of 7 in novice at Beverley (9.9f, good to firm) 28 days ago. Represents top stable and further increase in trip could unlock further progress on handicap debut. Nicely bred and looks the type to do well now qualified for handicaps; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (66/1 -1000%) Ellexis |
66/1(-1000%) | (1) Ellexis 66/1, Eased a little in weights and proved as good as ever when winning 10-runner handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f) in January, forging clear. Absent since but she returns with her yard amongst the winners and needs considering. Absent since clearcut win over 9.5f in January; stamina to prove over new trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Ellexis was a commanding winner on her latest outing over the extended 1m1f at Wolverhampton in January and should she return to the track in similar form, she could be difficult to stop. Having said that, an 8lb rise makes life tougher. Therefore, a chance is taken on SPERIAMO, who was beaten just half a length over 1m2f at Newmarket last time. Handicap debutant Ever Hopefull completes the shortlist.
BAS BLEU went like a well-handicapped filly when runner-up behind a subsequent winner at Newbury on her penultimate start and, having again ran creditably when third at Bath 6 weeks ago, she's worth siding with to confirm her mark a workable one. Course winner Loving Look and handicap debutante Ever Hopefull are others to consider, whilst the returning Ellexis needs monitoring in the market back from a break.
Preference is for LOVING LOOK, who may well have more to offer back at the scene of her August win. Ever Hopefull is feared most.

1st (1) (20/1 -100%) Siempre Arturo |
20/1(-100%) | (1) Siempre Arturo 20/1, Recorded fourth win of the year when successful at Newmarket in July. Off just 6 days, possibly found race coming too soon when fifth of 7 in handicap at Sandown (10f, good to soft, 5/4) 83 days ago. Not discounted. Off since July flop; may rebound but needs to resume progress to defy top weight. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (11/2 -10%) Aulis |
11/2(-10%) | (9) Aulis 11/2, In first-time visor, showed improved form when winning 5-runner handicap at Southwell (12.1f, evens) 42 days ago, suited by return to more patient tactics. Major player having run well on previous 2 visits to this course. Took well to new headgear last time and the form is strong; respected in retained visor. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (16/1 -14%) Diamond Ranger |
16/1(-14%) | (4) Diamond Ranger 16/1, Gained a first handicap success at Windsor in September. Shaped as if still in good form when fourth of 7 in handicap (17/2) at Wolverhampton (12.2f) 9 days ago, not ideally placed. Needs everything to drop right. Held off this mark last week but did enough to suggest he remains in form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (8/1 -7%) Ludo's Landing |
8/1(-7%) | (2) Ludo's Landing 8/1, Proved at least as good as ever when winning 13-runner handicap (9/1) at this C&D 3 week ago, scoring with bit in hand. Respected as he bids for a third victory in 4 starts. Largely consistent this year and scored over C&D most recently; solid contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (15/8 +77%) Palace Green |
15/8(+77%) | (5) Palace Green 15/8, Successful here (10f) in April. Lesser effort when eighth of 9 in handicap at Ascot (10f, good to soft, 15/2) 39 days ago, but no surprise to see him bounce back returned to this venue. Drops back in class and returns to the scene of his novice win; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (10/1 +38%) Miss Dolly Rocker |
10/1(+38%) | (3) Miss Dolly Rocker 10/1, Course winner. Back to winning ways at Bath in September and produced another good effort when second of 9 in handicap at Newbury (12f, good to soft, 11/1) 26 days ago. Could be in the mix in her current form. Back in top form last month; now on career-high mark but is difficult to dismiss. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (11) (16/1 -60%) Highland Spring |
16/1(-60%) | (11) Highland Spring 16/1, Off the mark at this course (8f) in August. Failed to repeat that effort when last of 14 in handicap (5/1) back here 2 weeks ago, but he's not written off having previously shaped as if this longer trip should suit. Disappointing this month when bidding for a 1m Kempton double; upped in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (11/1 -10%) Ten Dimes |
11/1(-10%) | (8) Ten Dimes 11/1, Made a winning return at Newcastle in April. In first time cheekpieces, 10¾ lengths twelfth of 14 to Sound Angela in listed race at Yarmouth (10.1f, firm, 100/1) 28 days ago. Could fare better back in a handicap. Second over C&D on most recent AW attempt, taking record in this sphere to 2122. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (14) (50/1 -213%) Imperial Cult |
50/1(-213%) | (14) Imperial Cult 50/1, Soon back on track when winning 9-runner handicap (10/3) at Epsom (10.1f, soft) 34 days ago, pulling a long way clear with the runner-up. Will need to find more again upped in grade. Scored at Epsom last month, adding to his two Lingfield AW wins in July. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (13) (80/1 -300%) Bohemian Breeze |
80/1(-300%) | (13) Bohemian Breeze 80/1, Without a win this year but shaped as if still in decent heart when sixth of 11 in handicap at Newcastle (10.2f, 4/1) 43 days ago, unsuited by way race developed. First run for yard after leaving Charlie Johnston. Appears to have a stiffer task back up in class on debut for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (12) (28/1 -75%) Star Jasmine |
28/1(-75%) | (12) Star Jasmine 28/1, Winner at Bath in April, but followed a couple of creditable efforts with a below-par one when last of 7 in handicap at Lingfield (9f, good to firm, 12/1) 64 days ago. Back up in trip as she makes polytrack debut. Consistent maiden form has not been sustained since handicapping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (10) (40/1 -60%) Bizarre Law |
40/1(-60%) | (10) Bizarre Law 40/1, Course winner. Fourteen runs since last win in 2022. Run best excused when ninth of 11 in handicap at Chester (10.3f, heavy, 10/1) 25 days ago, slowly away and paying price for big move into contention. Blinkers on 1st time. Not in top form; chance depends on how well he responds to new headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (7) (16/1 -167%) Crimson Road |
16/1(-167%) | (7) Crimson Road 16/1, Doubled his tally when scoring in 8-runner handicap at Newbury (10f, good to firm, 7/2) 48 days ago, suited by emphasis on speed. Can give his running again upped in trip returned to all-weather. Generally consistent this season, winning twice on turf (including last time). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (6) (9/2 +55%) Fighter Command |
9/2(+55%) | (6) Fighter Command 9/2, Opened account at Windsor in April. After 8 weeks off (gelded), again raced freely when tailed-off sixth of 8 in handicap at Newmarket (12f, heavy, 10/3) 20 days ago. Tongue strap now reached for. Headstrong sort; has the ability to figure, provided he settles well enough. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Ludo's Landing finally won on the all-weather when scoring over course and distance last month and could be thereabouts despite a 4lb rise. PALACE GREEN failed to run his race on the testing ground at Ascot last time, but Richard Hughes' charge won a novice race by five lengths here in April and the return to this surface should suit. Newbury winner Crimson Road and Miss Dolly Rocker could both go well too.
AULIS took a step forward in a change of headgear when getting off the mark at Southwell last month, form which has been boosted by the second and third both winning since, so he is taken to score again now that he's up and running. Ludo's Landing won comfortably over C&D on his latest outing and could be the main danger, ahead of Palace Green.
With the visor retained, AULIS (nap) is taken to build on his solid Southwell win and follow up. Palace Green is second choice.

1st (2) (4/1 -14%) Queen's Guard |
4/1(-14%) | (2) Queen's Guard 4/1, Fairly useful filly who registered a second career victory at Lingfield (6f) in June. Unable to make an impact on turf subsequently, again well held in listed company at Ayr (5.5f) 26 days ago. Profile on synthetics a plus though and return to handicaps firmly in her favour also. Has strong AW form; struggled in Listed events on turf of late; this more suitable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (5/1 +17%) Circe |
5/1(+17%) | (1) Circe 5/1, Opened her account in handicaps back from a break at Newbury (1m) in July. Better than bare result when fourth at Goodwood next time and whilst she hasn't fully fired in 2 starts since, she's not one to write off. Remains unexposed on all weather. Two wins from nine starts (7f/1m) but she has something to prove now dropping to 6f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (5/6 +39%) Minnie Wildes |
5/6(+39%) | (3) Minnie Wildes 5/6, Bated Breath who made a winning debut at Ffos Las (6f, heavy) in August and maintained her 100% record when making all under a penalty at Newcastle (6f) 15 days ago. Remains open to improvement and big shout in hat-trick bid on handicap debut. Two easy 6f wins this year; clearly talented but she's in deeper this time; shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (12/1 +14%) Scarlet Lady |
12/1(+14%) | (6) Scarlet Lady 12/1, Winner at Yarmouth in August. Seventh of 10 in handicap at Yarmouth (8f, good to firm, 7/1) 27 days ago. Back down in trip. 7f win in Yarmouth Class 6 in August; less good twice since; the drop in trip is a query. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (20/1 -135%) Miss Stormy Night |
20/1(-135%) | (4) Miss Stormy Night 20/1, 3 wins from 9 runs this year. Latest win at Lingfield in July. 5/1, last of 8 in handicap at Nottingham (6.1f, good) 64 days ago so needs to bounce back. Fast-ground 6f hat-trick this summer; disappointed when last seen; needs a full revival. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
The unbeaten MINNIE WILDES defied a penalty to land the odds in novice company at Newcastle with the minimum of fuss. The daughter of Bated Breath has yet to face a proper test, but is open to any amount of improvement now handicapping and looks the one to beat. Miss Stormy Night's winning run came to an abrupt end when well beaten at Nottingham latest, so Powerdress rates a bigger threat having won over course and distance two starts ago.
MINNIE WILDES cemented the positive start made when successful on debut at Ffos Las when making short work of 5 rivals under a penalty at Newcastle 2 weeks ago and she can maintain her 100% record now handicapping, with the distinct possibility of more to come. The return to handicaps is a plus for Queen's Guard and she's respected back on synthetics. Circe is another worthy of respect.
Minnie Wildes may prove to have been let in lightly but the class-dropping QUEEN'S GUARD is a feasible alternative back on AW.

10/1(+70%) | (12) Purple Poppy 10/1, One win from 33 Flat runs. 28/1, ninth of 12 in handicap at this course (7f) 21 days ago. Blinkers on 1st time. Others more persuasive. Infrequent winner; not at her best over 7f here last month; now tried in blinkers. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (13/2 +7%) First Company |
13/2(+7%) | (6) First Company 13/2, C&D winner. Below form fifth of 10 in handicap (25/1) at this C&D 21 days ago, again not helping his cause by taking a strong hold. However, he's fallen to a handy mark and not one to write off (last 2 victories gained here). Big chance on this winter's C&D form; return of B Loughnane a plus; should go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (11/1 -57%) Cogsworth |
11/1(-57%) | (7) Cogsworth 11/1, Latest win at Brighton (7f) in May. 5/1, last of 8 in handicap at Yarmouth (8f, good) 69 days ago. Return to shorter in his favour back on AW and booking of Murphy catches the eye. Two 7f wins in May; below par over a mile the last twice; O Murphy booked but drawn widest. |

4th (1) (5/1 -100%) Sir Rodneyredblood |
5/1(-100%) | (1) Sir Rodneyredblood 5/1, C&D winner. 2/1, came in for a well-judged ride when resuming winning ways in 7-runner handicap at Lingfield (6f, AW) 50 days ago. Well drawn to attack again nudged up 3 lb. Respected. Prolific AW winner, including C&D; game effort at Lingfield in August; should go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (14/1 +58%) Revolucion |
14/1(+58%) | (11) Revolucion 14/1, One win from 34 Flat runs. Sixth of 10 in handicap (15/2) at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 11 days ago. Mark has eased a little more but others make greater appeal for win purposes. Poor strike-rate and he hasn't fired for current stable; opposable despite reduced mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (9/2 +68%) Clyde Bay |
9/2(+68%) | (5) Clyde Bay 9/2, Lightly-raced maiden. Shaped as if needing the run after 5 months off when eighth of 11 in handicap (33/1) at Salisbury (6f, good to soft) 33 days ago. Tongue strap on 1st time and could fare better. Of interest on his 2yo form; well held at Salisbury last month; now tongue tied. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (28/1 -40%) Watermelon Sugar |
28/1(-40%) | (2) Watermelon Sugar 28/1, Latest win at Lingfield in April. 25/1, tenth of 13 in handicap at Southwell (5f) 20 days ago, racing off the pace. Back up in trip. Struggled since an impressive Lingfield win in April (6f); would need to see money for him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (9/2 +31%) Lilkian |
9/2(+31%) | (8) Lilkian 9/2, C&D winner. Twelve runs since last win in 2023. 7/2, seventh of 10 in handicap at this C&D 26 days ago. Not taken lightly for all he's likely to face competition on the front end. Not at his best over C&D last month; dangerous mark but needs a revival. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (13/2 -63%) Electric Avenue |
13/2(-63%) | (4) Electric Avenue 13/2, Winner at Brighton in June. Cheekpieces on for 1st time, creditable second of 11 in handicap back at that venue (7f, good, 6/1) 29 days ago. Booking of Callan a plus and respected in this groove. 7f turf win in June; solid second at Brighton latest; drop back to 6f not sure to suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (3) (18/1 -100%) Melisende |
18/1(-100%) | (3) Melisende 18/1, Winner at Lingfield in September. Eighth of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f, 15/2) 25 days ago, plugging on. Still, no surprise to see her bounce back and booking of Marquand catches the eye. Well backed when winning at Lingfield (6f AW) last month; less good one week later. |

11th (9) (18/1 -50%) Concierge |
18/1(-50%) | (9) Concierge 18/1, Fifth of 6 in handicap (10/3) at Chepstow (5.1f, good to firm) 43 days ago, plugging on final 1f. Fallen to a handy mark and the return to this trip in his favour. Yet to win this year but conditions no problem and he's slipping down the weights; chance. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Sir Rodneyredblood has now won 14 times on the all-weather after scoring at Lingfield in August. He can make his presence felt once again, but it could be ELECTRIC AVENUE's turn. George Baker's filly overcame an early stumble when runner-up in first-time cheekpieces at Brighton latest and returns to this shorter trip with solid claims. Melisende and Lilkian are others worthy of a second glance.
SIR RODNEYREDBLOOD bounced back to form returned to an artificial surface when successful at Lingfield back in August and, well-berthed to attack again, he looks a live player up 3 lb. Electric Avenue, Cogsworth and First Company are others to consider.
Sir Rodneyredblood and Concierge can go well but FIRST COMPANY has had excuses of late and Billy Loughnane is now back on board

This is the 16:15 Kempton race from the video above backed at 28/1 earlier in the day.
Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing.
