1st (2) (5/1 -500%) Roadlesstravelled |
5/1(-500%) | (2) Roadlesstravelled 5/1, €44,000 3-y-o, £215,000 4-y-o, Lauro gelding. Half-brother to fair hurdler Kitsilano. Dam (c108), 19f chase winner (stayed 3m), half-sister to very smart hurdler (2m winner) Abbyssial. Easily off mark in Irish points at second attempt (May 2023). Most interesting hurdling debutant. Bought for £215,000 soon after easy Irish point win in May 2023; rules debut today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (4/1 +67%) Rumoursareflying |
4/1(+67%) | (3) Rumoursareflying 4/1, Fair maiden hurdler who made the frame on 4 occasions last season but remains vulnerable to less-exposed sorts. Made the frame five times over hurdles last season and has each-way claims again today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (40/1 -100%) Washpool |
40/1(-100%) | (5) Washpool 40/1, Runner-up sole start in points and has shown some promise in a bumper/maiden hurdle but is probably one for later on. Made just a mildly encouraging hurdle debut last month; one for further down the line. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (10) (6/4 +50%) Rialannah |
6/4(+50%) | (10) Rialannah 6/4, Bounced back to her hurdling debut form when second of 11 in maiden hurdle at Market Rasen (16.6f, good to soft) in March, closing all way to line. Held back by a sloppy round of jumping at Southwell on final outing and sets the standard on her return to action. Second over C&D and at Southwell (2m4f) at end of last season; leading contender today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (3/1 +50%) Tineggiori |
3/1(+50%) | (4) Tineggiori 3/1, Fair bumper winner who translated all that ability to hurdles when going close in 2m Newcastle maiden on first attempt in February. Disappointed at Hexham the following month but clearly wasn't 100% and worth another chance. Absent since disappointing run in March but went very close on hurdle debut in February. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (25/1 -56%) Nobody's Perfect |
25/1(-56%) | (9) Nobody's Perfect 25/1, Made frame in Irish points and has done the same in 2 of his 3 starts in bumpers, showing modest form. Makes hurdle debut. Showed ability in Irish points/British bumpers but improvement is needed on hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (100/1 -100%) Sandscape |
100/1(-100%) | (8) Sandscape 100/1, Comfortably held in a Hereford bumper on debut 6 months ago. Made low-key bumper debut when well-held fourth at Hereford in March. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (20/1 -43%) Jacks Wish |
20/1(-43%) | (7) Jacks Wish 20/1, Well held in a brace of bumpers and probably more of a long-term project. Safely held in two good-ground bumpers in the spring; makes hurdling debut here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (80/1 -21%) Chantilly Moon |
80/1(-21%) | (1) Chantilly Moon 80/1, Made frame on first of 2 starts in bumpers but went with no encouragement when pulled up on Sedgefield hurdling debut. Tongue strap on for 1st time. Pulled up when 80-1 for last month's hurdling debut at Sedgefield. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Jonjo and A J O'Neill have their horses in good form lately and although point-to-point winner ROADLESSTRAVELLED has not been seen since an easy win at Taylorstown in May last year, he could still be up to winning this as he looks to justify his 215,000-pound price tag. Nigel Twiston-Davies has his string in fine fettle and Jacks Wish could go well at a price, but Tineggiori may be the bigger danger if he brushes up on his hurdling skills.
ROADLESSTRAVELLED was bought for big money after winning his second start in Irish points in ready fashion and starting out over hurdles at a realistic level, he makes plenty of appeal. Rialannah sets the standard on the pick of her form and is feared most ahead of Tineggiori.
Roadlesstravelled easily won an Irish point in spring 2023 but preference is for RIALANNAH, who ended last season in good nick.

1st (1) (8/13 +51%) Almeraq |
8/13(+51%) | (1) Almeraq 8/13, Dark Angel colt. Dam unraced half-sister to winner up to 6f Fairyland and 7f/1m winner Now Or Never (both smart). 13/2, second of 13 in maiden at Newbury (6f, good to soft) on debut 25 days ago. Should have more to offer. Pleasing 2nd of 13 at Newbury (6f, soft) on last month's debut; likely lots more to come. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (5/4 +0%) Winnebago |
5/4(+0%) | (7) Winnebago 5/4, Promising individual who has shaped well on both starts, 5/1 when second of 13 in novice at this C&D (good to firm) 28 days ago, staying on well. Leading claims. Two promising runs on good ground, over C&D more recently; leading contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (66/1 -450%) Lexington Rocket |
66/1(-450%) | (3) Lexington Rocket 66/1, Foaled April 8. 5,500 gns foal, £20,000 yearling, £40,000 2-y-o, Ardad gelding. Brother/half-brothers to 2 winners abroad. Dam unraced half-sister to smart 7f winner Iptisam. £40,000 breeze-up 2yo; related to two winners abroad; useful standard to aim at on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (20/1 -167%) San Munoz |
20/1(-167%) | (5) San Munoz 20/1, Foaled February 15. 170,000 gns yearling, Kingman colt. Dam, smart winner up to 1½m (2-y-o 7f-1m winner) who stayed 1¾m, half-sister to smart 1m winner Auxerre. Lot to like on paper. 170,000gns yearling; first foal of a Group 2 winner; bred to need further than 6f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (150/1 -650%) My Mate Kev |
150/1(-650%) | (4) My Mate Kev 150/1, Foaled May 5. Aclaim gelding. Dam, placed at 6f at 2 yrs, should have been suited by 7f. Just minor appeal on pedigree and stable not renowned for winning 2yo newcomers. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (33/1 -32%) Al Samed |
33/1(-32%) | (2) Al Samed 33/1, Useful pedigree and in top hands but very low-key start, fifth of 7 in novice (11/2) at Newbury (7f, soft) 24 days ago. Down the field in two slow-ground 7f events last month; one for handicaps after this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (300/1 -200%) Synergism |
300/1(-200%) | (6) Synergism 300/1, Tenth of 12 in novice at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 125/1) on debut 8 days ago, slowly away. 125-1 and well beaten on last week's Wolverhampton debut (7f); longer-term prospect. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Winnebago will have his supporters after a length and three-quarter second here on his second start, but he looks up against it now with the promising ALMERAQ in opposition. A home-bred son of Dark Angel, he was beaten less than a length on his only start at Newbury when coming from off the pace in a race he will have learned plenty from. San Munoz may be best of the newcomers and is one to watch for the future.
WINNEBAGO has displayed plenty of ability on both starts so far, strong at the line when runner-up over C&D a month ago and he looks the one to beat. Almeraq's debut second at Newbury was promising, though so he's a big threat, with newcomer San Munoz a nice type on paper, too.
Winnebago and ALMERAQ set a clear standard and the latter is taken to step forward from his promising Newbury debut.

1st (2) (9/4 +32%) Action Plan |
9/4(+32%) | (2) Action Plan 9/4, Fairly useful winner at 8f on Flat. Sent off favourite but just a fair fourth of 7 in juvenile hurdle (11/8) at Cork (16.1f, good) on Sunday. Third to Solar Drive at Ballinrobe but let down by jumping at Cork on Sunday. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (5/2 -67%) Solar Drive |
5/2(-67%) | (1) Solar Drive 5/2, Fair winner at 12f on Flat and made second start over obstacles a successful one in 13-runner juvenile hurdle at Ballinrobe (17.9f, good) 32 days ago, pushed out. Obvious claims. Won well at Ballinrobe but needs to improve again to confirm form with Action Plan. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (5/4 +33%) Slurricane |
5/4(+33%) | (6) Slurricane 5/4, Fairly useful Flat winner, making jumps debut. Third of 9 in handicap (9/1) at Listowel (14.2f, good to soft) 21 days ago, nearest finish. Stamina won't be an issue now hurdling. A 78-rated Flat handicapper respected on hurdles debut; rider's claim a positive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (100/1 -733%) Chesterbaylad |
100/1(-733%) | (3) Chesterbaylad 100/1, Eighth of 15 in juvenile hurdle at Gowran (16f, good, 125/1) 10 days ago. Beaten a fair way on both hurdle outings, lots to find. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (12/1 -41%) Chartwell's Lady |
12/1(-41%) | (7) Chartwell's Lady 12/1, Fair maiden on the Flat, making jumps debut. 9/2 and blinkered for 1st time, fourth of 5 in handicap at Lingfield (12f, AW) 71 days ago. First run for yard after leaving James Ferguson. AW maiden bought for just 2,000gns in August; yard among the winners at the weekend. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (125/1 -525%) Mind Your Few Bob |
125/1(-525%) | (5) Mind Your Few Bob 125/1, Eleventh of 15 in juvenile hurdle at Gowran (16f, good, 150/1) on NH debut 10 days ago. Didn't look the most straightforward on recent hurdles debut; can only be watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (28/1 -211%) Infatuator |
28/1(-211%) | (4) Infatuator 28/1, Fair maiden on the Flat, making jumps debut. 50/1, first run since leaving Archie Watson when thirteenth of 18 in maiden at Galway (12.2f, good to soft) 76 days ago. Placed AW form in Britain; probably best watched on hurdles debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
A dual winner over 1m4f, SOLAR DRIVE isn't as highly rated on the Flat as some of these but has taken well to hurdling and had Action Plan a little over two lengths back in third when landing a Ballinrobe maiden. Action Plan again ran creditably in a decent contest at Listowel on his next start, before finishing fourth at Cork on Sunday, and he will be a major player if turning up here. Hurdling debutant Slurricane stays well, as shown when placed over 1m6f on the Flat last time in a competitive Listowel handicap.
SOLAR DRIVE confirmed the promise of his hurdles debut when successful at Ballinrobe a month ago and with Action Plan an unlikely runner after just a fair fourth at Cork on Sunday, this looks a good opportunity. Slurricane stayed well on the level and is a definite threat if taking to this new discipline.
Ballinrobe winner Solar Drive may struggle to give weight to hurdles debutant SLURRICANE

1st (1) (3/1 +63%) Croeso Cymraeg |
3/1(+63%) | (1) Croeso Cymraeg 3/1, C&D winner. Fourteen runs since last win in 2023. 8/1, sixth of 8 in handicap at Catterick (12.1f, soft) 13 days ago, slowly away. Can get involved if things drop right. Acts on any ground and has claims on several placed efforts this season; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (12/1 +64%) Red Derek |
12/1(+64%) | (8) Red Derek 12/1, Two wins from 43 Flat runs. 100/1, last of 11 in handicap at Newcastle (10.2f). Off 11 months. Infrequent winner and he looks opposable back from 343 days off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (15/8 -7%) Questionable |
15/8(-7%) | (2) Questionable 15/8, 15/2, career best when winning 9-runner handicap at Sandown (10f, good) 27 days ago, suited by more patient tactics. Needs considering. Forged clear at Sandown last month and she's open to more progress; big player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (9/2 -64%) Orbital |
9/2(-64%) | (5) Orbital 9/2, Latest win at Lingfield in July. Respectable fifth of 10 in handicap (5/2) at Kempton (11f) 25 days ago. Better expected given more of a break. Dual AW winner who had an excuse last time and is still unexposed on turf; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (11/2 -22%) Another Beautiful |
11/2(-22%) | (6) Another Beautiful 11/2, Cheekpieces on for 1st time, creditable third of 11 in handicap at Beverley (9.9f, good to soft, 16/1) 21 days ago. Not taken lightly. Placed off this reduced mark last time but this looks tougher back up in grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (11/1 -175%) Phone Tag |
11/1(-175%) | (3) Phone Tag 11/1, 18/1, first run since leaving Hugo Palmer when creditable second of 6 in handicap at Chester (10.3f, heavy) 32 days ago. Can give a good account. Runner-up on stable debut at Chester and has claims off unchanged mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (50/1 +0%) Red Scotch |
50/1(+0%) | (7) Red Scotch 50/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Last of 9 in handicap at Doncaster (10.2f, good to firm, 200/1) 82 days ago. Has gone the wrong way. Five-race maiden who has been tailed off in both handicaps and has lots to prove. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Orbital could go well dropping back in trip after weakening over further at Kempton on her latest start. Phone Tag ran well when second at Chester behind an in-form opponent and he has to enter calculations, but QUESTIONABLE gets the vote. She has been put up 7lb after an easy Sandown win but may have more to come over this distance.
The free-going QUESTIONABLE seemed suited by more patient tactics when off the mark at Sandown last month and she could have more to offer now connections have found the key. Another Beautiful is worth another go at this trip having shaped well at Beverley last time, while Phone Tag made a positive start for this yard when runner-up at Chester under similar conditions.
This can go QUESTIONABLE (nap), who won in good style at Sandown last month and is open to more progress.

1st (1) (5/2 +29%) Prince Imperial |
5/2(+29%) | (1) Prince Imperial 5/2, Showed improved form on first run since leaving Harriet Dickin when easily winning 9-runner maiden hurdle at Fontwell last month. Just a fair third under a penalty back there 3 weeks ago and cheekpieces are back on. Wide-margin Fontwell winner on last month's stable debut; major player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (5/2 -275%) Lady Jago |
5/2(-275%) | (4) Lady Jago 5/2, Irish point winner who displayed fair form in a trio of bumpers last term and all the rage ahead of her hurdles debut, she looked a good prospect when successful over 21f at Warwick 12 days ago. Should be plenty more to come from her. Ready winner of mares' maiden on recent hurdle debut; could have a lot more to offer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (11/2 +0%) J J Moon |
11/2(+0%) | (2) J J Moon 11/2, Much improved away from soft ground when making third bumper start a winning one at Southwell in May. Dam unraced sister to a fair hurdler and he's up in trip for this debut over obstacles. Improved to win Southwell bumper by over 7l in May; hurdle debut today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (150/1 -200%) Raincloud |
150/1(-200%) | (6) Raincloud 150/1, No form in 2024 on Flat and just modest form at best over hurdles, her runner-up effort in a 2m hurdle here recently a lesser race than this. Did not achieve much when remote second here last month; faces a tough assignment. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (15/8 +66%) Taras Halls |
15/8(+66%) | (5) Taras Halls 15/8, Bumper winner for Lucy Wadham but form for this yard was in and out last season, runner-up 3 times along with some lesser efforts. More exposed that these but a player if returning on song. Ended last season with some below-par efforts; good chance here if back in good nick. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (125/1 -89%) Keepkalmandkarryon |
125/1(-89%) | (3) Keepkalmandkarryon 125/1, £40,000 3-y-o, Sholokhov gelding. Closely related to fairly useful hurdler Clarendon Street, and half-brother to bumper winner Kalifornia. Dam (c141/h108) 2¼m/2½m chase winner (stayed 2¾m). Tongue tied and held back by inexperience in a bumper in November. Had a breathing op since. Showed his inexperience and was soundly beaten when 20-1 for course bumper last November. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
A small but competitive field for this novice hurdle, and one that may fall the way of J J MOON, who impressed when taking a bumper by over seven lengths at Southwell and makes his hurdling bow here. Lady Jago won on her hurdling debut at Warwick and may go off at the head of the market in this field for the Skeltons, leaving Taras Halls as a tentative suggestion for third spot.
LADY JAGO was typically well prepared by her top stable when making a winning hurdles debut in smooth fashion at Warwick 12 days ago and is taken to successfully defy a penalty. Prince Imperial can give it another good go, while bumper-winner J J Moon demands respect.
Last season petered out for TARAS HALLS but he is selected in the hope he has been refreshed by a break.

Half-brother to several winners, including high-class 7f-1¼m winner Benbatl, smart 1¼m-1½m winner Modaara, and 1000 Guineas winner Elmalka. Very appealing candidate (has a Group 1 entry). Half-brother to 1,000 Guineas winner Elmalka and Group 1 winner Benbatl; likely type. |

2nd (5) (50/1 -150%) Roman Centurion |
50/1(-150%) | (5) Roman Centurion 50/1, Sent off 100/1 and was too green to show a great deal when eighth of 12 in maiden at Newmarket (7f, good) on debut 67 days ago. Started 100-1 for his debut in a newcomers' maiden in the summer, when finishing well held. |

4th (4) (22/1 -38%) Prince Of India |
22/1(-38%) | (4) Prince Of India 22/1, Debut fourth was promising but never looked like repeating that form when ninth of 13 in novice at Kempton (7f, 10/1) 25 days ago. Half-sister Bet Me won on soft ground but it may be in nurseries that he makes his mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (9/2 +59%) Power Fizz |

Dam 2-y-o 6f/7f winner. 11/1, eighth of 9 in maiden at Newbury (6f, soft) on debut 40 days ago. Will surely know more this time. Brother to useful 2-y-o 1m winner Lautrec and closely related to 5f-7f winner Invincible Ryker and very smart winner up to 1m Magna Grecia. Newcomer of extreme interest. Half-brother to 2,000 Guineas winner Magna Grecia and St Mark's Basilica; interesting. |

300/1(-50%) | (13) No Gain 300/1, 150/1, last of 12 in maiden at Newmarket (7f, good to soft) on debut 10 days ago. Finished a remote last of 12 at 150-1 on her debut ten days ago; expect similar. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Pinkarizon looks the form choice after he came home second at Ffos Las, but he was beaten close to four lengths that day and needs to find more. Sallaal can go well for the in-form Roger Varian stable as a son of Frankel related to numerous winners, and he might prove the biggest danger to WICKED. A well-bred Kingman colt, he cost 600,000gns as a yearling and may yet prove to be one of the better Gosden juveniles.
Newcomers SALLAAL and Wicked rather leap off the page from a pedigree and connections point of view, with the former, a half-brother to this year's 1000 Guineas winner Elmalka, taken to strike at the first attempt. Wave Rider is the clear pick of those with experience.
Sallaal and WICKED are both half-brothers to Classic winners, with the latter given the nod. Wave Rider sets the standard.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (7/1 -75%) Sayitfirst |
7/1(-75%) | (9) Sayitfirst 7/1, Creditable second of 12 in handicap hurdle (5/1) at Fairyhouse (16f, good) 8 days ago. Can give a good account. Won at Roscommon and runner-up at Fairyhouse since; up 4lb so needs a bit more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (10/3 +17%) Targa Flavio |
10/3(+17%) | (7) Targa Flavio 10/3, Very good second of 11 in handicap hurdle (7/1) at Listowel (16f, soft) 19 days ago. Enters calculations. Beaten 12l in second last time; bit harsh to go up 2lb for that and needs to find more. |

5th (10) (16/1 -33%) Wendell's Lass |
16/1(-33%) | (10) Wendell's Lass 16/1, Bit below form 13¾ lengths fifth of 16 to Sayitfirst in handicap hurdle (16/1) at Roscommon (15.6f, soft) 15 days ago. Tongue strap back on. Soundly beaten on Flat and over hurdles since returning from an absence; needs more. |

6th (1) (11/4 +8%) Mount Anglesby |
11/4(+8%) | (1) Mount Anglesby 11/4, Creditable second of 14 in novice hurdle at Ballinrobe (18.2f, soft, 11/4) 50 days ago. Makes handicap hurdle debut. Respected. Generally consistent in defeat in maidens this year; can be competitive on handicap debut. |

7th (5) (22/1 -159%) Star Official |
22/1(-159%) | (5) Star Official 22/1, 5/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time in this code, ninth of 14 in handicap hurdle at Thurles (16.4f, soft). Off 7 months. Others more persuasive. Record of 2-3 under all rules; back after an absence; best form is on testing ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (9/2 -20%) Single Edition |
9/2(-20%) | (6) Single Edition 9/2, Eleven runs since last win in 2022. Good 1¼ lengths second of 16 to Sayitfirst in handicap hurdle at Roscommon (15.6f, soft, 8/1) 15 days ago. Stepping back in the right direction. Bumper winner has yet to score over hurdles but solid the last twice; best on good ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (33/1 -83%) Ricky Langford |
33/1(-83%) | (8) Ricky Langford 33/1, Latest win in chase at Downpatrick in August. 14/1, sixth of 7 in handicap chase at Galway (18.2f, good to soft) 7 days ago. Switches from chase to hurdles. Won over fences in August but poor twice since and needs to return to form back hurdling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) (11/1 +0%) Fascinating Shadow |
11/1(+0%) | (2) Fascinating Shadow 11/1, 25/1, eleventh of 15 in handicap hurdle at Killarney (17f, good) 89 days ago. Third at Ballinrobe in May but not as good at Killarney when last seen. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Runner-up on his last two starts, bumper winner SINGLE EDITION can go one better and record a first success over hurdles. Nigel Slevin's six-year-old was outstayed by a subsequent winner over a longer trip at Downpatrick before finding only Sayitfirst too strong at Roscommon. The selection is 7lb better off with the latter, who again showed her well-being when second at Fairyhouse last week. Targa Flavio was a well-held second when showing improved form at Listowel and he may improve for better ground, while handicap debutant Mount Anglesby brings solid maiden form to the table.
MOUNT ANGLESBY has made a good start for his new yard and his opening mark looks a fair one. In-form pair Single Edition and Sayitfirst bump into each other again and they head the dangers.
Consistent in defeat this season, JAKE PETER could get his turn today as long as the ground doesn't soften appreciably.

2nd (5) (5/2 +44%) Capricorn King |
5/2(+44%) | (5) Capricorn King 5/2, Lightly-raced maiden. Creditable fifth of 11 in nursery at Newcastle (10.2f, 5/1) 12 days ago. Will need to handle the ground but today's assured stamina test should suit. |

3rd (8) (14/1 -180%) Good Call |
14/1(-180%) | (8) Good Call 14/1, 18/1, creditable fourth of 10 in nursery at Southwell (8.1f) 16 days ago. Eight-race maiden but close up behind Keep Singing and Freak Encounter at Southwell. |

9/2(-50%) | (7) Freak Encounter 9/2, 8/1, creditable third of 10 in nursery at Southwell (8.1f) 16 days ago. Expected to be bang there. Unraced on slow ground but third the last twice, latterly boxing on at Southwell (1m). |

5th (6) (40/1 -21%) Hickton |
40/1(-21%) | (6) Hickton 40/1, 50/1, tenth of 11 in nursery at Newcastle (10.2f) 12 days ago. Plenty to prove. Debut was half promising but he has offered little in the meantime. |

6th (2) (18/1 -29%) Teenage Daydream |
18/1(-29%) | (2) Teenage Daydream 18/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Hooded for 1st time, last of 6 in novice (150/1) at Haydock (7.2f, heavy) 18 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Nothing positive to report so far and hard to suggest she's well treated for nursery debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (15/2 -173%) Keep Singing |
15/2(-173%) | (3) Keep Singing 15/2, 15/2, good second of 10 in nursery at Southwell (8.1f) 16 days ago. Player. Another good run last time at Southwell in a 0-60; thereabouts if handling conditions. |

8th (10) (66/1 -164%) Pathetic Fallacy |
66/1(-164%) | (10) Pathetic Fallacy 66/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 33/1, twelfth of 14 in nursery at Brighton (7f, good to soft) 7 days ago. Weak 33-1 on nursery debut at Brighton (7f, good to soft) and ran accordingly. |

9th (1) (28/1 -75%) Eye On The Prize |
28/1(-75%) | (1) Eye On The Prize 28/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 125/1, last of 8 in novice at Catterick (7f, soft) 13 days ago, badly hampered. Makes handicap debut. Handicaps could see this daughter of Expert Eye in a brighter light; market useful. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (4) (11/1 -120%) Mehmasself And I |
11/1(-120%) | (4) Mehmasself And I 11/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 7/1 and tongue strap on for 1st time, good fifth of 12 in nursery at Chelmsford City (7f) 17 days ago, running on. Blinkers on 1st time. Can make presence felt. Stayed on from off the pace at Chelmsford (7f); now goes further with blinkers added. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
GOOD CALL is interesting here after her Southwell fourth when running on late over this trip and off 1lb lower she can go well with Tom Kiely-Marshall claiming 5lb from the saddle. Stable companion Keep Singing is an obvious rival with her September second, but she has been put up for that and may have to settle for third place with Freak Encounter, a neck behind him there, 2lb better off here.
Modest stuff but FREAK ENCOUNTER is going the right way now which should count for plenty. Mehmasself And I and Keep Singing are others to consider.
Most of these have questions to answer on the ground but a test of stamina may trigger an improved showing from CAPRICORN KING.

1st (1) (4/6 +67%) Court In The Act |
4/6(+67%) | (1) Court In The Act 4/6, Bumper winner and quickly translated that ability to hurdles, winning a 2m Kempton maiden last Christmas. Only mid-division in a Sandown handicap final start but it was a warm race and every chance he'll resume his progression this season. Much respected with yard among the winners. Very respectable ninth of 20 in hot novices' handicap at Sandown at end of last season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (17/2 -209%) Bannister |
17/2(-209%) | (6) Bannister 17/2, Multiple winner for Tom George and back to form for Nick Kent lately, winning a course handicap (18.5f, good to firm) 17 days ago. Raised 5 lb but retains handicapping scope on his best form. Won from off the pace here last month; no guarantees this race will set up as favourably. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (8/1 -100%) Diamond Dice |
8/1(-100%) | (3) Diamond Dice 8/1, Won a 2m Ludlow maiden on heavy last winter. Finished narrowly behind Court In The Act when tenth of 20 in Sandown handicap final start. Stable going quite well. Respected on return to action. Maiden winner in February and not beaten far in hot handicap in April. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (22/1 +12%) Langton Wold |
22/1(+12%) | (8) Langton Wold 22/1, Fair Flat winner who opened his account over hurdles at the third attempt in maiden at Sedgefield (17f) on Boxing Day. Placed in a handicap hurdle/chase subsequently but his recent efforts under both codes have been disappointing. Well beaten on both hurdling starts this summer and recent Flat form is uninspiring. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (6/1 +40%) Pillar Of Steel |
6/1(+40%) | (5) Pillar Of Steel 6/1, A bit hit and miss but very much on a going day when scoring over C&D in July. Only a respectable third at Stratford last time, though. C&D winner in July and both subsequent runs were perfectly respectable; in the mix again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (17/2 +6%) Bluegrass |
17/2(+6%) | (4) Bluegrass 17/2, Useful on the Flat for Aidan O'Brien earlier in his career but only fair form over hurdles, finally coming good in a Fakenham maiden in March. Disappointed in a handicap at Ayr the following month. Has had wind surgery ahead of reappearance. Comfortably won Fakenham maiden in March but others here have more potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (50/1 -400%) Fransham |
50/1(-400%) | (2) Fransham 50/1, Five-time winner over hurdles but latest success in this sphere was gained back in December 2020 and he ran creditably only once from 4 outings last season. Given a chance by the handicapper but others have less to prove. Off since April and not the force of old but his Kempton second in January offers hope. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (40/1 -300%) Giselles Defence |
40/1(-300%) | (7) Giselles Defence 40/1, Fairly useful Flat for this yard. Should have scope off this mark over hurdles judged on that ability and he can have a line put through last week's Ludlow handicap debut as his saddle slipped, although there wasn't obviously any confidence behind him in the betting (22/1). Three Flat wins for new stable this year; remains unexposed over hurdles. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Pillar Of Steel was a C&D winner as recently as July off 2lb lower, and boasts six wins on the predicted going to his name. The nine-year-old can go well and may follow top-weight COURT IN THE ACT home. The suggestion won a maiden hurdle at Kempton before a second at Ludlow, though his last run at Sandown needs forgiving, albeit in a Class Two handicap. He looks all set for another good season, with Bannister the pick for third.
Low-mileage 5-y-os COURT IN THE ACT and Diamond Dice might be the pair to focus on here, with the former narrowly preferred for a stable which seems to be clicking into gear. Last month's course scorer Bannister may prove best of the rest.
Topweight COURT IN THE ACT (nap) ran with great credit in a hot handicap at the end of last season and still has significant potential.

1st (3) (15/8 +6%) Al Waseela |
15/8(+6%) | (3) Al Waseela 15/8, 11/10, creditable neck second of 7 to Under The Sea in nursery at Leicester (7f, good to soft) 35 days ago, running on. Blinkers replace cheekpieces and there shouldn't be much between them again. Powerful yard 3-7 with 2yos here this season; shortlisted now switched to blinkers. |

2nd (5) (13/2 +35%) Unex Friendly |
13/2(+35%) | (5) Unex Friendly 13/2, Represents in-form yard but failed to improve when respectable fifth of 9 on nursery debut at this course (8f, good to firm) 26 days ago. Others more persuasive. Perhaps the different conditions will help under Rossa Ryan (first ride for the yard). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (8/1 +20%) Laurens Dream |
8/1(+20%) | (2) Laurens Dream 8/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Fourth of 8 in novice at Catterick (7f, soft, 200/1) 13 days ago. Makes handicap debut and mark demands more. From a decent family; open to improvement for yard that doesn't bring many to these parts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (7/2 -56%) Under The Sea |
7/2(-56%) | (1) Under The Sea 7/2, 12/1 and cheekpieces on for first time, career best when winning 7-runner nursery at Leicester (7f, good to soft) 35 days ago by neck from Al Waseela, staying on well. Has good chance on form raised 3 lb. Edged out Al Waseela on rain-softened ground last time; holds fair claims upped 3lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (7/1 -100%) Mystified |
7/1(-100%) | (4) Mystified 7/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 25/1, very good second of 9 in nursery at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 22 days ago, helped by being held up in strongly-run race. Likely to give it another good go. Ground is an unknown but the stiffer test of stamina should suit on Wolverhampton evidence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (12/1 +52%) Poke The Bear |
12/1(+52%) | (8) Poke The Bear 12/1, Tenth of 12 in nursery (22/1) at Chelmsford (7f) 17 days ago. Makes turf debut with cheekpieces left off. Big prices all starts to date and is yet to get involved in a finish; makes his turf debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (17/2 +39%) Princess Inga |
17/2(+39%) | (6) Princess Inga 17/2, Ridden positively when third of 6 in nursery (12/1) at Leicester (7f, heavy) 7 days ago. More needed to defy current mark. Again made the running last week; this less-testing course should help but she needs more. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Under The Sea won narrowly last time out at Leicester and he can go well off 3lb higher, though Al Waseela was a neck second that day and is 1lb better off now in first-time blinkers which ought to make it a lot closer between them. However, MYSTIFIED looks the one. Beaten less than a length when keeping on well at Wolverhampton off 1lb lower, this may be his best opportunity yet with Neil Callan in the saddle.
UNDER THE SEA and Al Waseela dominated a nursery at Leicester a month ago and they may well come to the fore again, with the Alice Haynes trained-inmate taken to uphold the form. Of the rest, Mystified left behind her qualifying runs when second at Wolverhampton and is expected to make her presence felt again.
The vote goes to the well-related LAURENS DREAM, who offered more upped from 5f last time and starts nursery life on a workable mark.

1st (2) (11/4 +0%) Aspire Tower |
11/4(+0%) | (2) Aspire Tower 11/4, Smart chaser. Course winner. 4/7, running respectably when falling at the last in a novice chase at Leopardstown (17f, heavy) on latest start in March. Looks the one most likely to make a race of it with Pied Piper. Smart hurdler whose chasing season was frustrating; back hurdling at his stamina limit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (17/2 -13%) Eagle Fang |
17/2(-13%) | (1) Eagle Fang 17/2, Useful hurdler. 22/1, career best when winning 14-runner novice hurdle at this course (16.2f, heavy) 165 days ago. This is more demanding. Progressive juvenile last season; unproven on this quicker ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (28/1 +15%) Byker |
28/1(+15%) | (3) Byker 28/1, 6/1, last of 12 in handicap at Killarney (16.8f, soft). Switches from Flat to hurdles. Useful performer in this sphere but will do well to match strides with Pied Piper and Aspire Tower. Back from summer break with good bit to find on ratings. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (4) (4/9 +11%) Pied Piper |
4/9(+11%) | (4) Pied Piper 4/9, Very smart hurdler. Course winner. Fifth of 7 in minor event at Galway (14.1f, soft, 5/4) 74 days ago, finding little. Switches from Flat to hurdles. Fine third in the County Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival on latest start in this sphere. This year's County Hurdle third; back from a break and runs well fresh; big player. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
PIED PIPER looks to have been found a nice opportunity to record a first win in almost two years. A genuine Grade 1 horse in his prime, the Gordon Elliott-trained six-year-old has performed with credit in decent handicaps under both codes in recent times. Fit from the Flat, the New Approach gelding should take all of the beating. Aspire Tower, who would have had a similar level of ability to the selection at his best, was off the track for almost three years prior to making his return last October. Although not the force of old, the gelding looks the main threat. Course winner Eagle Fang is next best.
Though below par on the Flat the last twice, PIED PIPER put in a solid shift when third in a major Cheltenham Festival handicap on his latest hurdles start and he'll be very hard to beat if able to reproduce form akin to that here. Aspire Tower is clear second choice ahead of Byker.
A pair of former Grade 2 winners with PIED PIPER preferred to Aspire Tower on this good ground and at this trip

10/3(-48%) | (3) Maids Head 10/3, Twice-raced maiden. Third of 11 in maiden (9/2) at Southwell (6.1f) 10 days ago. Respected. Finished third in both her runs and she's open to more progress back on turf; in the mix. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Run To My Side looks fractionally the better of the Archie Watson pair on paper as a daughter of Al Kazeem, but her inexperience counts against her and both Southwell third Maids Head, so MY MATE BEATTIE is preferred. Ed Dunlop's Kodiac filly kept on into second over further at Newcastle last month but can be ridden more aggressively dropping back to this trip, with Hector Crouch taking the ride on this occasion.
MY MATE BEATTIE stepped up on debut when second at Newcastle and can put her experience to good use up against Archie Watson's newcomers Layla Liz and Run To My Side.
Ed Dunlop's MY MATE BERTIE sets the standard on her second at Newcastle and is a big player if she's unfazed by this drop back in trip.

1st (3) (15/8 +17%) Queens Venture |
15/8(+17%) | (3) Queens Venture 15/8, Westerner filly who was well held on Rules debut in a bumper but positives to glean from subsequent efforts in maiden hurdles, over 2m at Worcester then upped to 20.6f here on latest start in July. Can be expected to improve now faced with a stiffer test on this handicap debut. Displayed promise in two maidens during the summer; up in trip for handicap debut. |

2nd (5) (40/1 -100%) East Eagle |
40/1(-100%) | (5) East Eagle 40/1, Showed more than on hurdling debut when fifth of 10 in novice here (20.6f, good to firm) in August. Jumping lacked fluency prior to slipping on home turn at Sedgefield recently and will need to be more sure-footed now pitched into a handicap. Ran quite well here in second of three qualifying races but needs to improve today. |

3rd (1) (14/1 -40%) Pateen |
14/1(-40%) | (1) Pateen 14/1, Successful at Cartmel in May and put a string of low-key efforts firmly behind him when resuming winning ways in a 2½m Perth handicap (good to soft) last month. However, this veteran isn't the easiest to predict nowadays and he ran poorly back at the same course 16 days later. Dual winner this season but very inconsistent; younger rivals look better treated. |

4th (8) (9/2 +55%) Zuul |
9/2(+55%) | (8) Zuul 9/2, Showed improved form when placed in back-to-back 20.6f handicaps here during the summer but he was below par tried in a hood (discarded here) when returning from a break at Perth. Below form last time and now 0-7 over hurdles but was placed twice here in June. |

5th (4) (6/1 +40%) The Midwife |
6/1(+40%) | (4) The Midwife 6/1, Point winner who showed improved form when striking on handicap hurdle debut over 20.6f in February. Has failed to build on that in 5 subsequent starts, though, and others make more appeal. Has not kicked on from 2m4f course win in February but is now 2lb below that mark. |

6th (14) (13/2 +46%) Ideal De Romay |
13/2(+46%) | (14) Ideal De Romay 13/2, Irish point winner but more miss than under Rules so far and will need to improve if he's to make an impact here. Tailed off over fences last time but previous hurdle form gives him an each-way squeak. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (11/1 -120%) Shibuya Song |
11/1(-120%) | (2) Shibuya Song 11/1, Confirmed promise of effort here in May when opening hurdles account back from a break at Worcester (23f, good). Failed to reproduce that form upped to 24.3f at Southwell 12 days ago but this relatively quick turnaround suggests that all is well and she will be a threat if able to get back on track. Surprise winner when upped to 2m7f last month but not in same form on recent outing. |

Solid each-way chance off the same mark. 0-12 over hurdles but placed three times over 3m at Perth in recent weeks. |

10th (13) (100/1 -100%) Stripe Of Honour |
100/1(-100%) | (13) Stripe Of Honour 100/1, Returned to form from out of the blue when second on 3m Southwell reappearance in May but well beaten on all 4 outings since. Went close at Southwell in May but badly out of form since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (12) (50/1 0%) You're Kidding Me |
50/1(0%) | (12) You're Kidding Me 50/1, Limited impact both starts in Ireland for Enda Bolger and similar story for this yard so far. Hopes pinned on the first-time blinkers sparking a sizeable step forward here. A pulled-up outsider in his first two handicaps; blinkers added today. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
QUEENS VENTURE has shown only moderate form so far, though gave the impression this extra distance would bring improvement when staying on well for fourth here in July. Dan Skelton's filly should prove competitive at this level on her handicap debut and a bold bid looks likely. A runner-up over 3m at Perth last time, Western Glen has scope for further progress, while Shibuya Song won with a bit in hand at Worcester on her penultimate start and has claims on that form.
QUEENS VENTURE is in good hands and, with improvement anticipated now switched to handicap company and upped in trip, she is appealing off what looks a very reasonable opening mark. The Dan Skelton-trained filly may have most to fear from Shibuya Song, who appeared to be on the up prior to a below par effort last time. Western Glen is also shortlisted.
There aren't many appealing options in this field but one exception is WESTERN GLEN, who comes here after three good efforts at Perth.

9/4(+10%) | (1) Dubawi Time 9/4, Weakened close home when fourth of 7 in handicap (9/4) at Wolverhampton (12.2f) 15 days ago. Has good chance on pick of form eased 2 lb and dropped slightly in class/trip back on turf. In decent nick, fourth at Wolverhampton latest; merits serious consideration off 2lb lower. |

2nd (3) (7/2 +0%) Meet Me In Meraki |
7/2(+0%) | (3) Meet Me In Meraki 7/2, Doubled career tally at Chepstow in July. 6/4, fifth of 6 in handicap at Salisbury (9.9f, good to firm) 62 days ago, proving too free. May well get back on track following a break. Won at Chepstow in July but beat only one at Salisbury following month; more needed. |

3rd (8) (28/1 +15%) Shy Nala |
28/1(+15%) | (8) Shy Nala 28/1, Looks limited on early evidence, fourth of 7 in minor event at this course (11.5f, good, 25/1) 69 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Only poor form shown in her five runs to date; switch to h'caps needs to spark improvement. |

4th (2) (3/1 +50%) Little Miss India |
3/1(+50%) | (2) Little Miss India 3/1, Best effort yet when second of 9 in handicap at Sandown (10f, good, 33/1) 27 days ago, despite carrying head awkwardly. Isn't yet exposed but she may not be straightforward. Best effort when runner-up at Sandown latest; enters calculations nudged up 1lb. |

5th (5) (5/2 +25%) Saachi |
5/2(+25%) | (5) Saachi 5/2, 4/1, sixth of 7 in handicap at Chelmsford City (10f) 45 days ago. Booking of Murphy a plus and the assessor has lent a hand. Has failed to go on since sent handicapping; lowered 3lb here though so no forlorn hope. |

6th (9) (125/1 -279%) Asclepius |
125/1(-279%) | (9) Asclepius 125/1, First run since leaving Dylan Cunha when last of 11 in handicap at Kempton (12f, 10/1) 25 days ago. Much more needed. Has offered little in four runs, last on yard/handicap debut at Kempton (1m4f) 25 days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (33/1 -725%) Indian Romance |
33/1(-725%) | (7) Indian Romance 33/1, Good third of 8 in handicap at Chelmsford City (10f, 9/2) 47 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Rae Guest and this mark ought to be within range. In good order for Rae Guest; changed hands for 5,000gns and respected for new yard. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Indian Romance has twice gone close since being upped to 1m2f and she ought to be a real threat on her first start for John Jenkins, while Sandown runner-up Little Miss India is another who needs taking seriously with Rossa Ryan booked. DUBAWI TIME gets the nod, though, as he is slowly dropping down towards his last winning mark and might just be suited by dropping back to 10 furlongs.
This drop in distance looks a good move for DUBAWI TIME and eased a further 2 lb, he looks weighted to strike. Saachi is a big player with Oisin Murphy taking over. Meet Me In Meraki also has fair claims.
For a stable which is among the winners, DUBAWI TIME is weighted to go well and gets the vote. Little Miss India is second choice.

1st (5) (8/11 +42%) Mister Pink |
8/11(+42%) | (5) Mister Pink 8/11, Fairly useful bumper winner who shaped with plenty of encouragement when second of 19 in a C&D maiden (good) on hurdles bow 12 months ago. Absent since but still the one to beat with improvement on the cards. Last year's second having his first run since; goes well fresh. |

2nd (2) (11/10 +20%) Ballysax Hank |
11/10(+20%) | (2) Ballysax Hank 11/10, Fair bumper winner who made an encouraging hurdling debut when second of 18 in maiden at Listowel (22f, good) on hurdles bow 23 days ago, going with enthusiasm. Obvious contender. Fine hurdles debut second at Listowel; drop back in trip could suit and major chance. |

8th (7) (20/1 -150%) Riveria |
20/1(-150%) | (7) Riveria 20/1, €10,000 3-y-o, Ol' Man River gelding. Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler Our Dot's Baby and poor hurdler Dolly's Dot. Dam unraced. Wears hood. A 10,000euros buy; hooded for debut, market probably best guide. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Cork bumper winner BALLYSAX HANK can step up on his recent hurdling debut at Listowel. Runner-up on that occasion, the Brendan Duke-trained gelding should have learned enough from that experience to go one better. A prominent racer, the five-year-old should appreciate returning to this venue where he previously finished fifth in a big-field bumper. The Willie Mullins-trained Mister Pink looks the obvious danger. Second over course and distance on hurdling debut last time, the six-year-old had won his bumper at Ballinrobe prior to that and likely has more to offer. Newcomer Ballyharney should be noted on his introduction for the in-form Adrian Murray stable.
This looks set to concern MISTER PINK and Ballysax Hank. The former hasn't been seen since making a promising hurdling debut over C&D a year ago, but fitness is rarely a concern given the stable he represents and he remains potentially useful.
Seemingly a match, with recent Listowel second BALLYSAX HANK (nap) preferred to last year's runner-up Mister Pink

Sixth of 14 in novice at Windsor (8.1f, good, 100/1) on debut 29 days ago. Tongue strap on 1st time. Should have more to offer. Dam, winner up to 1¾m (2-y-o 1m winner), half-sister to smart 7.5f-1¼m winner Half Light. Brother to a useful middle-distance winner; needs to reach a pretty good standard on debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
AROLLA showed signs of inexperience at Ffos Las on her debut, but still returned a clear winner on the slow ground. She looks a potentially smart filly on that evidence and the daughter of Kingman is take to defy a penalty. A Major Payne showed promise when runner-up at Windsor in May and can feature again if building on that effort, while Swift Storm also returns from a layoff having placed on soft going at Thirsk back in April and should handle today's underfoot conditions.
AROLLA looked a good prospect when making a winning start at Ffos Las in July and can defy a penalty. A Major Payne was beaten only by a now-useful sort at Windsor back in May so is next best ahead of Swift Storm, who's also coming back from a break.
Placed in what has turned out to be a pretty good soft-ground maiden at Thirsk in the spring, SWIFT STORM might be the answer.

1st (3) (9/1 -50%) Hidden Depths |
9/1(-50%) | (3) Hidden Depths 9/1, Dual-purpose performer who displayed a nice turn of foot when landing 7-runner handicap at Worcester (23f) in July. Resumed winning ways in a small field at Perth 3 weeks ago and comes into the reckoning back down in trip. Two wins this season, the latter a career-best performance at Perth last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (5/2 -11%) Mylesfromwicklow |
5/2(-11%) | (1) Mylesfromwicklow 5/2, Twice a winner in small field chases last term and running up to best when last seen, third of 12 in handicap chase at Market Rasen (21.4f, good to firm) following a wind op in June. Needs considering back from a break. C&D winner in March and placed off this mark over C&D on latest outing in June. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (11/10 +56%) The Doyen Chief |
11/10(+56%) | (4) The Doyen Chief 11/10, Winning pointer/bumper performer who landed the odds without any fuss over hurdles at Market Rasen and made it 2 from 4 in that sphere in novice at Taunton when last seen in February. Remains with potential, especially now going chasing (won completed start in Irish points). 2-4 as a novice hurdler last season; switches to fences for handicap debut; interesting. |

4th (5) (13/2 -63%) Game On For Glory |
13/2(-63%) | (5) Game On For Glory 13/2, Bumper/hurdles winner who landed a small-field Ludlow handicap (2½m) in a first-time visor in February. Good placed efforts next 2 starts and can go well again. Creditable second in Grade 2 series final for mares at Cheltenham at end of last season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (25/1 -150%) Tiger Orchid |
25/1(-150%) | (2) Tiger Orchid 25/1, Enhanced good Worcester record with a win in June. Not so good next 2 starts, however, so bit to prove now. Did well to win at Worcester in June but that seems to be his favourite track. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (12/1 -60%) Gold Link |
12/1(-60%) | (6) Gold Link 12/1, Opened chase account at Stratford last summer and resumed winning ways over 2½m at Huntingdon a year ago. Ran no sort of race there in January (reported to have an irregular heartbeat) and not seen since. Dual chase winner in early part of last season; absent since pulled up in April. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
HIDDEN DEPTHS is an improving chaser and recorded his fourth win over fences with a cosy two-length success at Perth last month. There looks more left in the locker and a 4lb rise may not be enough to anchor him in this. Mylesfromwicklow should be thereabouts once again, though has something to prove off his current mark after returning a beaten favourite over course and distance, while The Doyen Chief is a dual winner over hurdles and should make his mark over fences this season.
Progressive hurdler THE DOYEN CHIEF should make a chaser given his pointing background so could be up to making a winning start in this sphere. Game On For Glory is next best.
The pick is THE DOYEN CHIEF, who was a promising novice hurdler last season and now switches to fences for his handicap debut.

22/1(-120%) | (9) Wanderlust 22/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Last of 9 in novice at Kempton (12f, 40/1) 69 days ago. Visor on for handicap debut and she's surely capable of better given yard she represents. Last in Kempton novice 69 days ago; visored for handicap debut and may still do better. |

7th (3) (3/1 -9%) Umbria |
3/1(-9%) | (3) Umbria 3/1, Made second start a winning one at Wolverhampton in June. Respectable fourth of 9 in handicap at Sandown (10f, good, evens) 27 days ago, running on. Enters calculations with this step up in trip sure to suit. Shaped as if stiffer test of stamina would suit when fourth at Sandown latest; player. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
AFLOAT was an unfortunate third over 10 furlongs here last month when Callum Shepherd briefly lost an iron close home, but the daughter of Sea The Moon made no mistake over C&D next time. Rae Guest's filly remains unexposed over this trip and she can successfully shoulder a 5lb penalty. Better was clearly expected of Umbria last time, but she is expected to show more upped in distance, while Ghost Story is also interesting.
AFLOAT thrives here and she can concede weight all round and notch up a fourth victory at Yarmouth. Umbria is a big player back up in trip, while there is more to come from Wanderlust.
Having scored comfortably over C&D last week, AFLOAT (nap) can make light of a 5lb penalty to notch a fourth course win.

14th (4) (10/1 -33%) Gekkota |
10/1(-33%) | (4) Gekkota 10/1, Eleven runs since last win in 2022. Bit below form seventh of 13 in handicap hurdle (6/1) at Killarney (17f, soft) 9 days ago. Enters calculations. Third at Galway over 2m but was below that form at Killarney last time; needs best. |

|PU| (5) (25/1 -213%) International Lady |
25/1(-213%) | (5) International Lady 25/1, Thrice-raced maiden over hurdles. 12/1, sixth of 12 in novice hurdle at Fairyhouse (16f, good) 8 days ago. Up in trip. Tongue strap on 1st time over jumps. Makes handicap hurdle debut. Should improve. Was keen and not all that fluent last time; this trip is a question on handicap debut. |

C&D winner WARM IN GOREY has leading claims under Tiernan Power Roche. Only 3lb higher than when successful here last June, the Philip Rothwell-trained gelding actually races off a lower mark once taking his jockey's claim into account. A consistent sort in handicap chases in recent months, the six-year-old may appreciate reverting to hurdles. Glendars Mahler has to be respected on her first start for trainer Aidan Howard. Having been rated as high as 105 in the past, the eight-year-old is very interesting. Point-to-point winner Due Course is another to consider.
DUE COURSE shaped well at Killarney last week and can strike for in-form Gavin Cromwell. General Clermont had a good spell over the summer and is second choice ahead of Rideau Canal and International Lady, a possible improver in handicaps.
In good form over hurdles lately, DUE COURSE can improve on his third at Killarney last time stepped up in trip.

Not ruled out bearing in mind the weight of support behind him last time. A while since he has shown any worthwhile form including in ten starts for this yard. |

5th (2) (33/1 -106%) Berry Edge |
33/1(-106%) | (2) Berry Edge 33/1, Unreliable sort. Latest win at Carlisle in June. 20/1, bit below form seventh of 14 in handicap at Redcar (10f, good to soft) 10 days ago, very slowly away. Back up in trip. Blinkers back on. Others preferred. May be better over shorter trips than this and slow starts have become a habit. |

6th (8) (20/1 -67%) Nancy P |
20/1(-67%) | (8) Nancy P 20/1, Winner at Lingfield in June. Creditable fifth of 9 in handicap (18/1) at Southwell (12.1f) 19 days ago, needing stronger gallop. Not ruled out. Hasn't built on her Lingfield success in June; needs to get back on track. |

16/1(-60%) | (10) Jamih 16/1, Latest win at Thirsk in August. Creditable fourth of 8 in handicap at this C&D (40/1) 11 days ago. Not the most reliable. Dual turf winner in August and closely matched with Something on recent C&D running. |

100/1(-400%) | (4) Moonfleet Moment 100/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 11/1, last of 7 in handicap at Newbury (10f, good). Off 14 months. Up in trip. First run for yard after leaving Harry Eustace. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Has work to do. Out of the frame in four starts; makes stable debut after 14 months off; cheekpieces on. |

10th (12) (10/1 -25%) Meridian Way |
10/1(-25%) | (12) Meridian Way 10/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Eighth of 11 in novice at Southwell (8.1f, 125/1) 10 days ago. Potential improver upped significantly in trip for handicap debut and is worth taking a chance on. Beaten a long way in three starts; will need to improve plenty now handicapping. |

11th (3) (40/1 -21%) Punxsutawney Phil |
40/1(-21%) | (3) Punxsutawney Phil 40/1, 66/1, bit below form seventh of 12 in handicap at Southwell (14.1f). Off 10 months. Others make more appeal. Not in much form since last seen and enough to prove back from ten months off. |

Trainer Tristan Davidson won this last year and is back for more with Laudable, who already has three wins to his name this season and was second last time out. He can go well if taking to the all-weather, but giving 1lb to the younger SOMETHING looks a big ask after he was beaten less than two lengths over C&D in a better race earlier in the month. Flying Scotsman completes the shortlist.
MERIDIAN WAY hasn't shown much to date but he's bred to be much better than a mark of 46 and this much longer trip should be in his favour, so he's worth chancing on handicap debut. Something and Laudable arrive in good form and should be on the premises.
There may still be more to come from the 3yo SOMETHING who finished runner-up in a stronger contest over C&D 11 days ago.

1st (5) (8/13 +100%) Alzahir |
8/13(+100%) | (5) Alzahir 8/13, Fairly useful gelding. 50/1, first run since leaving David O'Meara when bit below form seventh of 16 in handicap at York (7.9f, soft) 4 days ago. Clear pick at the weights here and will take plenty of stopping if anywhere near his best. His run at York at the weekend reads well with a view to today's easier assignment. |

2nd (2) (12/1 +14%) Blufferonthebus |
12/1(+14%) | (2) Blufferonthebus 12/1, Fair filly. 3 wins from 14 runs this year, the latest at Beverley in July. Fifth of 10 in handicap (20/1) at Pontefract (6f, heavy) 8 days ago, inadequate test. No easy task on these terms. Needs to rediscover some form but dropping into a seller can help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (13/2 +0%) Gaiety Musical |
13/2(+0%) | (10) Gaiety Musical 13/2, Fair filly. 7/1 and hooded for 1st time, sixth of 7 in handicap at Chelmsford City (7f) 47 days ago. Good chance of making the frame on these terms. Has been competitive and is a likely player at these weights if handling conditions. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (9/1 +36%) Charlie Mason |
9/1(+36%) | (4) Charlie Mason 9/1, Fair gelding. Below form fifth of 12 in handicap (28/1) at Kempton (6f) 6 days ago. Others make more appeal on these terms. Slow starts haven't been helping in handicaps but he has been running on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (18/1 -29%) Liberty Mountain |
18/1(-29%) | (9) Liberty Mountain 18/1, Fair filly. Eighth of 11 in handicap (14/1) at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 56 days ago. Woudn't be without an each-way chance if on-song. Not disgraced in 7f handicaps the last twice and she's a dual winner with soft-ground form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (11/1 -175%) Classy Boy |
11/1(-175%) | (1) Classy Boy 11/1, Fairly useful gelding. 6/1, last of 6 in handicap at Chester (10.3f, heavy) 32 days ago. This drop back in trip shouldn't be too much of an issue (won over a mile at Carlisle in July) and will be a serious each-way player down in grade here if responding well to the first-time cheekpieces. Dual winner poor the last twice; sights lowered here with cheekpieces added. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (14/1 -40%) Fierce |
14/1(-40%) | (3) Fierce 14/1, Fair gelding. Latest win at Lingfield in August. 5/1, last of 8 in handicap at Kempton (6f) 39 days ago. Hopes pinned on the first time visor and tongue strap sparking improvement. Blinkers replaced by different headgear and ability is there to take a hand on these terms. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (50/1 -100%) Twisted Tiara |
50/1(-100%) | (8) Twisted Tiara 50/1, Lightly-raced winner. Successful at Bath in April. 40/1, tenth of 11 in handicap at Salisbury (6f, good to soft) 32 days ago. Looks vulnerable. Has regressed since her novice win over an extended 5f; stamina could be stretched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (66/1 -164%) Rajwaan |
66/1(-164%) | (6) Rajwaan 66/1, Lightly-raced winner. 11/8, career best when winning 8-runner nursery for Andrew Balding at Southwell (5f) in November 2022. Absent since and probably best watched starting out for new yard here. Absent since getting off the mark in Southwell nursery (5f, AW) in November 2022. |

Jennie Candlish sent out last year's winner and ALZAHIR makes plenty of appeal on paper. The four-year-old has been competing in tough handicaps, including a fifth at York just four days ago, and can make the most of today's favourable terms in this lower grade. Classy Boy also drops in class and can get involved with an apprentice's 7lb allowance further helping his cause, while Gaiety Musical lurks at the bottom of the weights with a chance.
ALZAHIR has spent most of this season contesting strong handicaps, as was the case when he finished mid-field at York on debut for new connections just four days ago. The 4-y-o is likely to prove very hard to beat eased in grade here (meets all of this rivals on far better terms than he would if this were a handicap). Gaiety Musical gets the nod ahead of Classy Boy for forecast purposes.
Jennie Candlish won this seller 12 months ago and ALZAHIR ran well enough in a York handicap at the weekend to earn the nod.

1st (3) (5/1 -50%) Filanderer |
5/1(-50%) | (3) Filanderer 5/1, Bumper winner who bettered hurdles exploits at the first attempt in this sphere when second in a Wincanton handicap chase in December. Hasn't gone from that since but it's still early days for this 8-y-o as a chaser and he's not without hope. Yet to build upon his quite pleasing chase debut in December but still enters calculations. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (4/1 +20%) Lunar Ocean |
4/1(+20%) | (8) Lunar Ocean 4/1, Had offered little but responded well to this headgear when third of 9 in handicap hurdle at this course (20.6f, good) 158 days ago. Interesting sent chasing right away by new trainer. 0-5 over hurdles but was placed over 2m4f here in May; makes stable/chase debut today. |

3rd (5) (7/2 +61%) Imperial Pride |
7/2(+61%) | (5) Imperial Pride 7/2, Won multiple points but made disappointing return to Rules when sixth of 13 in handicap chase at Newton Abbot (21f, good, 15/2) in June. Bit to prove now. Triple point winner in the spring; suited by this track; shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (5/1 -11%) Into The Sunset |
5/1(-11%) | (7) Into The Sunset 5/1, Dual hurdles winner in 2022. Missed whole of 2023 and has yet to match his previous best this year, including in 2 starts over fences. Shaped slightly better than the bare result when fourth of 10 in handicap hurdle at Bangor (19.6f, good) 39 days ago so not ruled out back chasing. Both chase runs this summer were respectable but he seems steadily to be regressing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (13/2 -117%) Copper Beach |
13/2(-117%) | (2) Copper Beach 13/2, A fair winning hurdler who was given a considerate introduction to chasing when fourth of 7 in handicap at Sedgefield (21.1f, good to soft) 2 weeks ago. Entitled to build on that and becoming well treated. Never dangerous on chasing debut but drops in grade here and is very well handicapped. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (14/1 -40%) Socks Off |
14/1(-40%) | (1) Socks Off 14/1, Won Sedgefield handicap hurdle in January. Not in the best form when last seen in the spring and not an obvious chasing type. Has left Rebecca Menzies, Out of form on Flat/over hurdles in spring 2023; makes stable/chase debut after long break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (9/1 +18%) Cornamona |
9/1(+18%) | (6) Cornamona 9/1, Remote third sole outing in bumpers for Nicky Henderson and this former point winner has failed to pull up any trees in 4 starts over hurdles to date. Needs to raise her game now chasing. Point winner; shaped quite well on recent handicap hurdle debut; makes chase debut today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (12/1 -33%) Regally Blonde |
12/1(-33%) | (4) Regally Blonde 12/1, Fairly useful Flat winner in Ireland but yet to match that level over hurdles. Makes chase debut. 0-9 over hurdles but ran okay in first-time cheekpieces last month; chase debut today. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
An open contest could go to CORNAMONA. The daughter of Doyen didn't show much over hurdles, but she is bred to appreciate a switch to the larger obstacles and could find the necessary improvement today. Filanderer unseated his rider when last seen in May but has the ability to feature granted a clear round, while Copper Beach is also noted.
COPPER BEACH hasn't been in much form this summer but at least he offered something to work on sent chasing at Sedgefield and he's potentially well treated if building on that. Filanderer is next best ahead of Lunar Ocean.
Chasing debutante Cornamona is of interest but COPPER BEACH has become too well handicapped to resist.

11/8(+21%) | (6) Realised 11/8, Good second of 10 in handicap at this course (6f, good to soft, 7/2) 8 days ago. Every inch a leading contender off the same mark with Jim Crowley again in the hot-seat. Solid second here last week; the step back up from 6f is in her favour and she's respected. |

2nd (2) (7/2 -17%) Gamblers Kitty |
7/2(-17%) | (2) Gamblers Kitty 7/2, Good fourth of 9 in handicap at this C&D (good to firm, 25/1) 26 days ago. Down 2 lb and will be in with an each-way shout with Oisin Murphy booked, provided he handles conditions. Lightly raced; has often pulled hard and hung right, and has never tackled this ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (16/1 -167%) Anif |
16/1(-167%) | (5) Anif 16/1, C&D winner in June (also successful over a mile here in May). Eighth of 11 in handicap at this C&D (good to soft, 17/2) when last seen 97 days ago. Will be a danger to all if resuming from a break in top form. Handles soft ground. Veteran; lacks consistency now and remains 5lb higher than for June's soft-ground C&D win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (9/4 +55%) The Spotlight Kid |
9/4(+55%) | (7) The Spotlight Kid 9/4, C&D winner. Fifteen runs since last win in 2022. 13/2, bit below form seventh of 12 in handicap at Windsor (8.1f, good) 29 days ago. Others make more appeal. 9lb lower than when third in this race on similar ground last autumn and needs considering. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (28/1 +15%) Primrose Maid |
28/1(+15%) | (8) Primrose Maid 28/1, C&D winner. One win from 23 Flat runs. 125/1, eighth of 12 in handicap at Chelmsford City (7f) 17 days ago. Best to look elsewhere. Won over C&D on soft ground last September; in no form but a case could be made. |

6th (3) (12/1 +40%) Roman Emperor |
12/1(+40%) | (3) Roman Emperor 12/1, Ninth of 10 in handicap (9/2) at Southwell (6.1f) 10 days ago and he is probably best watched for now. String of poor efforts in the summer and was well held in one previous run on heavy ground. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
ANIF races on soft ground for the first time since winning over course and distance in June and Michael Herrington's veteran looks worth another chance. Realised finished behind the selection in June, but has finished runner-up over 6f here subsequently and can have a say in proceedings, while Gamblers Kitty remains unexposed in handicaps and Oisin Murphy's presence in the plate catches the eye.
REALISED was beaten twice by Anif here earlier in the season but she has a good chance of gaining the upper hand on these revised terms. The 4-y-o was a costly loser at Brighton on her penultimate start but got firmly back on track when finding just one too good back at this course over 6f last week, leaving the strong impression that the return to this trip would be in her favour. Anif is still very much respected and rates the main danger ahead of Gamblers Kitty.
Realised is respected but THE SPOTLIGHT KID ticks a lot of boxes when it comes to course, distance, ground and time of year.

She got on top in the closing stages to open her account at Tipperary in early July and won with plenty in hand when following up at Roscommon just over two weeks ago. She got a 12lb hike for that but it's often worth following a mare in form. The versatile Somptueux was fourth in a Flat maiden on his latest start and is on a competitive mark over timber. He is a danger, while Cozone comes here in winning form having taken a claimer in good style at Clonmel.
ITS NOT OVER YET is going the right way and had plenty to spare when scoring at Roscommon last time, so she gets the nod over Folly Beach, who also has potential for better still. Dorans Law is also worthy of consideration.
The aptly named ITS NOT OVER YET is taken to complete the hat-trick, despite suffering a 12lb hike for winning in a canter at Roscommon

1st (7) (10/3 +52%) Celtic Warrior |
10/3(+52%) | (7) Celtic Warrior 10/3, Fourth of 6 in handicap at Chester (10.3f, heavy, 3/1) 32 days ago. Likely unsuited by the ground that day and should get back on track. Record on the AW reads 321 and stable 24% here in past five seasons; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (9/1 -200%) Lordsbridge Blu |
9/1(-200%) | (3) Lordsbridge Blu 9/1, 5/4, won 5-runner novice at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 38 days ago, keeping on well. Makes handicap debut. Likely to do better and boasts leading claims. Unexposed 4yo who won last time and makes his handicap debut; stamina may be an issue. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (6/1 +25%) No Surrender |
6/1(+25%) | (5) No Surrender 6/1, Good fourth of 10 in handicap at Redcar (10f, good to soft, 12/1) 20 days ago. Chance if rediscovering old form. Unplaced in all five handicaps, but not beaten far last time and down another 2lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (18/1 -29%) Johnny Ringo |
18/1(-29%) | (6) Johnny Ringo 18/1, Course winner. Good sixth of 10 in handicap (33/1) at Ayr (10f, good) 14 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Could get involved. Two best efforts have come here, but still has stamina to prove; cheekpieces on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (12) (14/1 +13%) Tasmanian Legend |
14/1(+13%) | (12) Tasmanian Legend 14/1, Course winner. 3 wins from 10 runs this year. Creditable fifth of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f, 20/1) 15 days ago. Not discounted. 3lb lower than for the latest of three Tapeta wins at start of year; each-way claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (40/1 -233%) Knockbrex |
40/1(-233%) | (2) Knockbrex 40/1, 8/1, fifth of 8 in handicap at Ripon (9.8f, heavy) on return. Off 180 days. Likely to strip fitter for the run, so others are more appealing. Hasn't built on last year's Pontefract win and returns from another absence; risky. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (16/1 -167%) Liseo |
16/1(-167%) | (4) Liseo 16/1, Eighth of 12 in handicap at Kempton (11f, 6/1) 13 days ago, left poorly placed. This should suit better and he can't be ruled out. 4lb below last winning mark and ran well in only previous visit here; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (11) (13/2 -8%) Up The Jazz |
13/2(-8%) | (11) Up The Jazz 13/2, Latest win at Ripon in June. 8/1, good second of 12 in handicap at Ayr (10f, good) 5 days ago. Has to be taken seriously. Off the same mark as when just beaten at Ayr last Thursday; one for the shortlist. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (22/1 -267%) Unplugged |
22/1(-267%) | (10) Unplugged 22/1, Eleven runs since last win in 2023. Respectable fifth of 10 in handicap (14/1) at Redcar (10f, good to soft) 20 days ago, unlucky not to finish closer after meeting trouble. 0-9 on the AW, though he has made the frame in his last six starts on artificial surfaces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) (10/3 +67%) Bravo Zulu |
10/3(+67%) | (8) Bravo Zulu 10/3, 7/2, tenth of 12 in handicap at Windsor (10f, good) 29 days ago. Others have achieved more recently. Much better on the AW than on turf, but is still to prove he stays this far. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (1) (40/1 -60%) Bear Force One |
40/1(-60%) | (1) Bear Force One 40/1, Quirky sort. Twelfth of 14 in handicap at Ayr (8f, good to firm, 40/1) 24 days ago. Up in trip. Chance on old form but has a bit to prove. 11lb below last winning mark, but below form lately and still has stamina to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (9) (11/1 +31%) African Spirit |
11/1(+31%) | (9) African Spirit 11/1, Lightly-raced winner. Course winner. 33/1, last of 11 in handicap at Thirsk (12f, good). Off 121 days. Has work to do. Much better on the AW than on turf, but still has stamina to prove. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Trainer Sean Woods has been doing well since his return from Hong Kong, and he has a lively sort here in LORDSBRIDGE BLU, a lightly-raced four-year-old who won at the third attempt at Wolverhampton. He seems a late-maturing sort who could go on from that and run up a sequence if kept at a sensible level. Up The Jazz was a good second at Ayr and rates his biggest danger, followed by both African Spirit and Celtic Warrior.
LORDSBRIDGE BLU cemented his solid start when opening his account at Wolverhampton last time and he's the type to do better now handicapping, so he gets the vote over Celtic Warrior, who should be back on track away from heavy ground. Up The Jazz should also be involved if the race doesn't come too soon.
The vote goes to LISEO who has dropped 4lb below his last winning mark and ran well in his only visit here.

1st (7) (8/1 -33%) It Just Takes Time |
8/1(-33%) | (7) It Just Takes Time 8/1, Course winner. Didn't need to improve to win 9-runner handicap at Beverley (7.4f, good to soft, 11/4) 21 days ago, making all. This 3 lb higher mark should be manageable and he's one for the shortlist. Belated return to 7f (extended) when grinding it out at Beverley three weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (8/1 +33%) Encourageable |
8/1(+33%) | (6) Encourageable 8/1, Bit below form fourth of 8 in handicap at Haydock (7.2f, heavy, 11/1) 18 days ago. Eased 1 lb since and entitled to come on for that belated reappearance spin, so he's dangerous to discount. Good run at Haydock after a long absence but this is quite a quick turnaround. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (11/1 -69%) Executive Decision |
11/1(-69%) | (2) Executive Decision 11/1, Respectable fourth of 13 in handicap at Salisbury (6f, good to soft, 7/1) 12 days ago, nearest finish. Well worth another try at this trip judged on that evidence and she's one to consider. Not a lot wrong with this season's efforts, although 6f has always appeared to be her trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (9/2 +25%) Pearle D'or |
9/2(+25%) | (3) Pearle D'or 9/2, Bit below form fifth of 11 in handicap at Newbury (7f, good to firm, 5/1) when last seen in June, unable to sustain effort. Effective on deep ground and he'll be a threat if resuming in top form. Hasn't been running badly during a light season on ground too fast. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (14/1 -250%) Mahato |
14/1(-250%) | (9) Mahato 14/1, Thrice-raced winner. Second of 11 in novice at Kempton (6f, 10/11) 29 days ago, no match for winner. Needs to improve now pitched into a handicap but he's in good hands and could have a part to play if handling conditions (2-y-o debut success at Windsor was on good to soft). Getting back on turf could be beneficial and he's an unexposed handicap debutant. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (14/1 -17%) Zip |
14/1(-17%) | (8) Zip 14/1, Thirteen runs since last win in 2023. Fifth of 8 in handicap (15/2) at Haydock (7.2f, heavy) 18 days ago. Cheekpieces back on and he'll likely come up short once more. Acts on heavy ground but his last four runs have been well beneath his best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (9/2 +10%) Spirit Genie |
9/2(+10%) | (1) Spirit Genie 9/2, C&D winner. 3 wins from 8 runs this year. Career best when winning 9-runner handicap (15/2) at Haydock (7.2f, heavy) 18 days ago, suited by emphasis on stamina. 2 lb nudge fair enough and he has to be taken seriously. Mudlover and the horse he beat at Hamilton ran a cracker at York last weekend. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (8/1 -14%) Burdett |
8/1(-14%) | (4) Burdett 8/1, Latest win at Haydock in August. Sixth of 9 in handicap (7/1) at Doncaster (7f, good to soft) 30 days ago. Conditions won't be a problem but he's probably in the handicapper's grip for now. It was a Class 2 in which he wasn't beaten far at Doncaster a month ago (7f, soft). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (17/2 -21%) Transitioning |
17/2(-21%) | (10) Transitioning 17/2, 2 wins from 5 runs this year. Latest win at Chester in July. 4/1, bit below form fourth of 9 in handicap at Chester (7.6f, soft) 31 days ago. Needs to raise his game. Record of 2-5; too fresh after a break when a fader last time at Chester. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) (9/1 +64%) Yermanthere |
9/1(+64%) | (5) Yermanthere 9/1, Latest win at Carlisle in August. Last of 14 in handicap at Ayr (8f, good to firm, 33/1) 24 days ago and he needs to bounce back. Other than his Carlisle success in August it's been a low-key season. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Spirit Genie recorded a narrow success at Haydock last month and he merits respect nudged up 2lb in the ratings, as does It Just Takes Time, who remains competitively handicapped having been on target at Beverley three weeks ago. However, a chance can be taken on EXECUTIVE DECISION. Badly outpaced early on before making good late headway over 6f at Salisbury recently, a step up in trip looks to be a positive move and it would come as no surprise were she to step forward.
With condition again in his favour, SPIRIT GENIE is taken to supplement his recent success at Haydock where he displayed a willing attitude. He landed the C&D seller on this card last year, which was his sole previous visit to Leicester. Pearle d'Or will be a threat if fully tuned-up following a break, while Executive Decision and It Just Takes Time also merit respect, along with lightly-raced handicap debutant Mahato.
His record fresh isn't encouraging but PEARLE D'OR hasn't been running badly this season on ground too fast and he's worth chancing.

1st (3) (2/1 +60%) Tilehurst |
2/1(+60%) | (3) Tilehurst 2/1, Bated Breath gelding. Half-brother to 2 winners on Flat, including 6f winner Rogue Missile. Dam 1m winner. Should have enough speed for this sort of test. 8,500gns yearling; doesn't have the stoutest of pedigrees for bumpers but market can guide. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (9/4 +100%) Bohemond Antioch |
9/4(+100%) | (1) Bohemond Antioch 9/4, Nathaniel gelding. Dam 1½m winner. Should be tuned up and is worth a chance to make a winning start. 13,000gns foal; dam 1m4f winner; respected newcomer from yard that wins plenty of bumpers. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (10/1 +0%) Playaway Girl |
10/1(+0%) | (4) Playaway Girl 10/1, Didn't show much at Huntingdon last week and will need to have learned plenty from that. 14-1 and was always behind when ninth on good ground at Huntingdon only last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (2/1 -6%) L'air Du Large |
2/1(-6%) | (2) L'air Du Large 2/1, No Risk At All gelding. Dam unraced sister to useful hurdler/smart chaser in France (17f-2¾m winner) Princesse Kap. Of obvious interest on debut. 2nd foal; dam unraced sister to useful French 2m1f-2m6f hurdle/chase winner Princesse Kap. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Playaway Girl is the only one of these with previous experience, but she would need to improve on what she showed at Huntingdon on her debut. Bohemond Antioch looks a likely type on paper and must feature prominently in calculations, but Oliver Greenall and Josh Guerriero have a decent strike-rate in bumpers and L'AIR DU LARGE may enhance that record. Tilehurst should not be underestimated.
BOHEMOND ANTIOCH has a reasonable Flat pedigree and is representing a top northern yard, so he gets the nod ahead of L'Air du Large and Tilehurst, who also make some appeal on paper. The market should be informative, however.
The market will be useful but L'AIR DU LARGE is from a yard with a terrific strike-rate in these races.

1st (5) (10/1 -233%) Glastonbury |
10/1(-233%) | (5) Glastonbury 10/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 13/2, seventh of 13 in handicap at Kempton (7f) 6 days ago. Makes turf debut and sports first-time cheekpieces. Something to find on form but it's still early days, the step up to a mile may help and the booking of Oisin Murphy is another positive factor. Running-on seventh at Kempton latest; interesting now up to 1m with Oisin Murphy up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (2/1 +43%) Dashing Donkey |
2/1(+43%) | (4) Dashing Donkey 2/1, C&D winner in June and followed up over 7f here the following month. Creditable third of 10 in handicap (4/1) at Chelmsford City (7f) 26 days ago. Conditions in his favour and he has to enter calculations. Dual C&D winner; solid Chelmsford third latest so ought to be thereabouts off same mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (16/1 -45%) Ya Rayah |
16/1(-45%) | (2) Ya Rayah 16/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 14/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, eighth of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 22 days ago, hampered. Opposable. Eighth of 11 at Wolverhampton (8.5f) 22 days ago; he may still do better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (10) (15/2 -36%) Eagle Landed |
15/2(-36%) | (10) Eagle Landed 15/2, 9/1, creditable fourth of 9 in handicap at Southwell (8.1f) 7 days ago, running on. Not without each-way hope, particularly with conditions likely to be on the slow side (went close on soft ground at Leicester earlier this season). Remains winless but he's kept his form well this term; shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (14/1 +30%) Too Much Trevor |
14/1(+30%) | (3) Too Much Trevor 14/1, 16/1 and visored for 1st time, last of 11 in handicap at Brighton (7f, good) 28 days ago, slowly away. Needs to get back on track. Still a maiden and he has failed to beat a rival on his last two outings; lots more needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (10/3 +0%) Kodebreaker |
10/3(+0%) | (1) Kodebreaker 10/3, C&D winner. Latest win at Doncaster in July. 4/1, respectable fourth of 10 in handicap at Southwell (8.1f) 7 days ago. Expected to be bang there. C&D winner who arrives in good form; can go very well off an unchanged mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (100/1 -203%) Fast Flo |
100/1(-203%) | (9) Fast Flo 100/1, Remains a maiden after 24 Flat runs. 50/1, ninth of 14 in handicap at Brighton (7f, good to soft), merely passing beaten rivals. Off 159 days and she's readily passed over. Longstanding maiden and well below par in a pair of handicaps in early summer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (40/1 -60%) Enchanted Night |
40/1(-60%) | (7) Enchanted Night 40/1, Unreliable type. Course winner in July 2023 (sole success from 53 Flat runs). 22/1 and visored for 1st time, eleventh of 12 in handicap at Southwell (5f) 7 days ago, slowly away. Significantly up in trip and it's easy enough to look elsewhere. Not one to rely on and she comes here out of sorts; others are much preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (200/1 -506%) Lord Danielson |
200/1(-506%) | (6) Lord Danielson 200/1, Twelfth of 14 in handicap at Leicester (7f, heavy, 80/1) 7 days ago and he looks set for another struggle. Yet to register a victory and his recent form offers little encouragement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) (10/3 +33%) Starshot |
10/3(+33%) | (8) Starshot 10/3, Remains a maiden after 20 Flat runs. Respectable fourth of 12 in handicap (15/2) at Chelmsford City (8f) 5 days ago. Conditions won't be a problem and won't be far away if on a going day. Is 0-20 but not discredited when fourth of 12 at Chelmsford five days ago; possibilities. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
DASHING DONKEY landed a double at this track during the summer which included a victory on soft going. Only 2lb higher than his latest win, a recent third at Chelmsford suggests he may not have finished improving yet. Kodebreaker also won on testing ground here in July, but Glastonbury may prove a bigger threat stepping up from 7f on only his second start in a handicap.
It could be worth chancing GLASTONBURY, who didn't show much in a trio of maidens but there was greater promise in his recent handicap debut display at Kempton. Now upped to a mile with cheekpieces enlisted and Oisin Murphy doing the steering, the son of Showcasing could be about to take a step forward. Kodebreaker is feared most, while Dashing Donkey, Eagle Landed and Starshot are others to consider.
The unexposed GLASTONBURY appeals as a likely improver now going up in trip with Oisin Murphy in the saddle.

16/1(-33%) | (11) Murphy Place 16/1, Shirocco filly. Dam (h70), lightly raced over hurdles, half-sister to useful hurdler/smart staying chaser Kimberlite Candy. Pulled up only start in points but represents a shrewd yard. Pulled-up in a point; can to do better in time but others have stronger credentials today. |

150/1(-355%) | (1) Docteur Elysees 150/1, Thrice-raced maiden under NH rules. Fourth of 12 in novice hurdle at Gowran (20.2f, good, 125/1) on hurdles bow 10 days ago. 100/1(-400%) | (2) Estamour 100/1, Estidhkaar mare. Dam, pulled up sole start over hurdles, 1½m winner on Flat. Wears tongue strap. Not an obvious sort on paper. Mostly a Flat pedigree but some jumping too; tongue-tie for debut; could run respectably. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (80/1 -344%) Galcafed |
80/1(-344%) | (3) Galcafed 80/1, Elusive Pimpernel mare. Dam (b109), dual bumper winner, closely related to very smart hurdler (stayed 3m) Fire Dragon. Comes from a solid dual-purpose pedigree; late starter but worth a market look. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (6) (50/1 -25%) Minimongous |
50/1(-25%) | (6) Minimongous 50/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 28/1, seventh of 12 in bumper at Listowel (16f, soft) 18 days ago. Needs to do more. Was 8l behind Mummy Derry in a Galway bumper but was below that level at Listowel since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (4) (250/1 -525%) Keep It Together |
250/1(-525%) | (4) Keep It Together 250/1, Once-raced maiden. Pulled up in bumper at Wexford (16.7f, good to soft, 66/1) on NH debut 67 days ago, saddle slipped. Saddle slipped on debut so can't be judged too harshly; can improve with time. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
MUMMY DERRY is hard to oppose. The Yeats filly lost out by three-parts of a length to a decent sort in Meitheal on her debut at Galway last month. The half-sister to Spillanes Tower looks to have been found a good opening in which to open her account. Lau And Shaz is the potential improver in the field. She showed promise when seventh in the Goffs Bumper at the festival here in April. That tends to be a deep race. The Gordon Elliott-trained Clongorey has finished fourth on both outings over timber and could be place material in this.
MUMMY DERRY was a warm order for her debut at Galway and, while she found one too good, a repeat of that sort of performance should be enough for her to open her account here. Clongorey has showed a bit over hurdles and could get into contention, while Lau And Shaz is likely to step forward from her first outing.
Having finished 8l ahead of Minimongous when runner-up on debut at Galway, MUMMY DERRY can go one better today.

14/1(-17%) | (5) Mister Sky Blue 14/1, Hasn't progressed from a mildly promising debut but it wouldn't be a surprise were that to change now handicapping. Another who needs monitoring in the market. Out of the frame in three starts; needs to improve for extra furlong on nursery/AW debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (8/1 -60%) Dolly's Delight |
8/1(-60%) | (2) Dolly's Delight 8/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 9/2, first run since leaving Michael Bell when sixth of 11 in novice at Carlisle (5.8f, good to soft) 34 days ago. Up in trip. Potential improver now handicapping up in trip. Well held in three starts but sent off just 9-2 last time; interesting on nursery debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (11/1 -10%) Falaise Blanc |
11/1(-10%) | (1) Falaise Blanc 11/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Best run when third of 7 in maiden at Hamilton (8.3f, good) 23 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Third last time; open to progress on nursery debut though that is true of several of these. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (11) (11/2 +45%) Clipsham Noble |
11/2(+45%) | (11) Clipsham Noble 11/2, Poor form. Respectable seventh of 12 in nursery at Kempton (7f, 11/1) 29 days ago, not clear run. Makes tapeta debut. Third on nursery debut at Chelmsford and met trouble last time; in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (18/1 -80%) Born Too Run |
18/1(-80%) | (9) Born Too Run 18/1, Much better than the result when ninth of 10 on 1m Redcar nursery debut 20 days ago, going okay but repeatedly short of room from 3f out. Interesting runner. Well held in four starts on turf/Polytrack; makes little appeal for now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (12) (28/1 -180%) Mystical Sky |
28/1(-180%) | (12) Mystical Sky 28/1, No form but is from a leading stable and possible he could prove a different proposition now handicapping in blinkers. Another to check out in the betting. Last in all three starts on turf, but dam gained her only win here; blinkers on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (10) (14/1 +0%) Cuban Lynx |
14/1(+0%) | (10) Cuban Lynx 14/1, Poor form Eighth of 12 in nursery at this course (6f, 12/1) 14 days ago, never nearer. Needs to find improvement for the step up to 7f. Modest form so far; not bred to improve for the extra furlong. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (4) (18/1 -80%) General Gordon |
18/1(-80%) | (4) General Gordon 18/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Twelfth of 13 in maiden at Thirsk (5f, soft, 22/1). Off 164 days. Significantly up in trip for nursery debut with cheekpieces added. Worth a precautionary betting check with Hollie Doyle booked. Held in three starts over 5f on turf in the spring; watch market on return; cheekpieces on. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Rose Of New Jersey was a good second at Thirsk under Connor Beasley in September and they are reunited here, suggesting they could put in a bold effort. Hawaii Five O might get involved after a solid fourth in cheekpieces last month, but FALAISE BLANC looks the one to beat. Weakening late on over further at Hamilton, he could prove difficult to pass if ridden positively.
Although HAWAII FIVE O failed to justify favouritism on his 1m Yarmouth nursery debut he did shape quite well and can come good now dropping back to 7f. Born Too Run enjoyed no luck on her Redcar nursery debut and is next on the list. Dolly's Delight is one of a few in this line-up who could improve now handicapping.
Preference is for HAWAII FIVE O who appeared to find 1m stretching him when attempting to make all on his nursery debut at Yarmouth.

1st (8) (7/2 +30%) Equion |
7/2(+30%) | (8) Equion 7/2, 8/1, confirmed himself still in good form when second of 14 in handicap at Bath (8f, soft) 14 days ago. Expected to be bang there again. Well treated and he has run well in two of his last three races; conditions are fine. |

2nd (10) (16/5 +73%) Astronomica |
16/5(+73%) | (10) Astronomica 16/5, C&D winner who shaped with some encouragement after 10 weeks off when fifth of 7 in handicap at Lingfield (8f, AW) 31 days ago. Not dismissed. Has won twice on soft; could have needed the run on the AW latest, after three months away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (20/1 -25%) Andromedas Kingdom |
20/1(-25%) | (7) Andromedas Kingdom 20/1, Underperformed when 7¼ lengths eighth of 13 to Alika Breeze in handicap (6/1) at Bath (8f, soft) 14 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Three-time winner this year but now needs to bounce back from quieter runs. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (22/1 -450%) Swatch |
22/1(-450%) | (2) Swatch 22/1, Latest win at Bath in April. Creditable second of 10 in handicap at Lingfield (8f, AW, 13/8). Off 127 days. First run for yard after leaving Alice Haynes and has good claims if returning from a break in similar form. Capable handicapper but makes stable debut after a lengthy break and that's offputting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (12/1 -140%) Soi Dao |
12/1(-140%) | (6) Soi Dao 12/1, 11/1, good ¾-length second of 13 to Alika Breeze in handicap at Bath (8f, soft) 14 days ago. In the mix with a repeat. Has won on soft; back to form when pushing Alika Breeze to within a length at Bath. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (16/1 -433%) Marsh Benham |
16/1(-433%) | (3) Marsh Benham 16/1, Ungenuine type who ran up to best to get off the mark for the year in 9-runner handicap at Brighton (8f, good to soft) 7 days ago, helped by being held up in strongly-run race. Carries penalty 4-lb penalty and not an obvious type to follow up. Perhaps flattered to win so well at Brighton as the pace collapsed up ahead of him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (5/1 +75%) Diffident Spirit |
5/1(+75%) | (4) Diffident Spirit 5/1, C&D winner who produced a laboured effort when fifth of 13 in handicap at Ascot (7f, good to soft, 33/1) 11 days ago, nearest finish. Jury still out as to what ability he retains. No concrete evidence this season (following an absence) that he's as good as he was. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (12/1 -140%) Alika Breeze |
12/1(-140%) | (9) Alika Breeze 12/1, 50/1, career best when winning 13-runner handicap at Bath (8f, soft) 14 days ago, by ¾ length from Soi Dao. Needs to prove that wasn't a flash in the pan. Hadn't offered much in handicaps until winning off a reduced mark from Soi Dao at Bath. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (8/1 +50%) Harswell Duke |
8/1(+50%) | (1) Harswell Duke 8/1, C&D winner who took a step back in the right direction on first run since leaving Roger Fell & Sean Murray when respectable fifth of 9 in handicap at Pontefract (8f, heavy, 18/1) 8 days ago. Suited by soft/heavy but winless since the 2023 Spring Mile; below par of late. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) (17/2 +39%) Blue Collar |
17/2(+39%) | (5) Blue Collar 17/2, First run since leaving Richard Hannon when respectable fifth of 10 in handicap at Salisbury (8f, good to firm, 10/1) 46 days ago, barely adequate test. Others preferred for win purposes kept to this trip. Chance on best form but still a maiden and ground this slow could be an issue. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
ALIKA BREEZE sprang a surprise when winning at odds of 50-1 at Bath a fortnight ago. That was a giant leap forward on what she had shown previously, but Richard Hughes' filly has few miles on the clock and may defy a 4lb rise in the handicap if arriving in a similar vein of form. Soi Dao finished behind her in second that day but has a 2lb pull and that could bring the pair closer together. Recent Brighton scorer Marsh Benham can go well under a 5lb penalty.
EQUION confirmed himself still in good form when beaten only by a thriving rival at Bath a fortnight ago and is the percentage call to go one better. Swatch has good claims if picking up where he left off for Alice Haynes in midsummer, with Astronomica also of some interest following an encouraging recent run at Lingfield.
This has an open look to it. EQUION will be at home in the conditions and has given his running in two of his last three races.

2nd (1) (7/2 +13%) Qaseem |
7/2(+13%) | (1) Qaseem 7/2, Fairly useful performer. Won 6f Haydock nursery in August. Better form in defeat over 7f since. Makes AW debut. Should go well but possibly vulnerable for win purposes under a penalty. Consistent 2yo who has run well in three of his nurseries at 6f/7f; solid claims. |

Dam 1¼m winner. Another debutant who could have a say, particularly if the betting vibes are strong. 180,000gns yearling; brother to 6f-1m1f winner Going Global (including 2yo/AW/US Grade 1). |

17/2(-183%) | (9) Yuvraaj 17/2, 12/1, shaped well when third of 10 in 1m novice at this course on debut 33 days ago, making smooth headway before tiring late on. 7f could be ideal on that evidence. Leading claims with improvement likely. Probably has to improve on his debut third here over 1m and he's dropping back in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (125/1 -681%) Trojan Soldier |
125/1(-681%) | (7) Trojan Soldier 125/1, 150/1, sixth of 11 in maiden (150/1) at this course (8f) on debut 12 days ago. Probably more one for handicaps later on. 150-1 when beaten 10l in a 1m maiden here 12 days ago and had to show more. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (200/1 -400%) Golborne |
200/1(-400%) | (3) Golborne 200/1, 22/1, eighth of 11 in novice at Redcar (7f, good to soft) on debut 10 days ago. Needs to have come on a lot in a short time. Beaten 15l on soft ground at Redcar (7f) where a slow start didn't help. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
QASEEM is penalised for winning a nursery at Haydock, though he does boast a handicap rating of 82, and Karl Burke's inmate may prove a cut above the opposition on his return to novice company. Yuvraaj finished third over a mile here on debut and is preferred to Royal Alliance, who was fourth at Newmarket back in June, while L'Karama is an early entry in next year's Irish 2000 Guineas and is a newcomer to note along with War Hawk.
An interesting novice. There was a lot to like about YUVRAAJ's opening third over 1m here last month and he's preferred to fellow Newmarket raider Royal Alliance. Qaseem is quite exposed but has the form to be on the premises, while the 3 newcomers make appeal on pedigree and need checking out in the betting.
Qaseem has some good form and ROYAL ALLIANCE has been gelded since running a nice first race behind last week's Dewhurst third.

2nd (1) (14/1 +13%) Absolute Dream |
14/1(+13%) | (1) Absolute Dream 14/1, C&D winner. Eighth of 9 in handicap (16/1) at Hamilton (8.3f, good) 22 days ago. Back down in trip. Not as good as he was but retains sufficient ability to prove a force at this level. |

9/1(-29%) | (7) She'sashambles 9/1, Winner at Thirsk in August. 13/2, below par when fifth of 7 in C&D handicap 14 days ago. Turf win in August was followed by a close 3rd over C&D; less good two weeks ago. |

4th (5) (13/2 +35%) Noble Captain |
13/2(+35%) | (5) Noble Captain 13/2, C&D winner in March. Probably needed first run for 4 months when ninth of 13 over C&D 21 days ago. Should strip fitter now. Conditions to suit and should come on for last month's return from a four-month break. |

5th (6) (14/1 -133%) Muddy Lynn |
14/1(-133%) | (6) Muddy Lynn 14/1, C&D winner last year. Never involved when fifth of 10 at Kempton on belated reappearance 25 days ago but should be sharper with that run behind her. On a workable mark. Not kicked on from last summer's C&D win but her reappearance was promising; may do better. |

6th (3) (12/1 +14%) Flavius Titus |

7th (2) (9/5 +28%) Missmimi |

11th (8) (28/1 -133%) Boom Boom Pow |
28/1(-133%) | (8) Boom Boom Pow 28/1, One win from 25 Flat runs. Twelve runs since last win in 2023. 9/1, below form fifth of 9 in handicap at Salisbury (7f, good to firm) 62 days ago. Others more persuasive. Poor strike-rate and quiet last twice; dangerous mark though and good apprentice booked. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (10) (6/1 -20%) Rain Cap |
6/1(-20%) | (10) Rain Cap 6/1, Fourteen runs since last win in 2023. Good third of 7 in handicap at Hamilton (6f, good, 13/2) 22 days ago. One of the more likely types. 0-11 on AW but he comes here on the back of some good turf runs; others appeal more. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
MISSMIMI is admirably consistent and scored over course and distance before finding one too good over the minimum trip back here. She looks sure to run her race once again and that could be good enough to get her head back in front. Rain Cap can be given a chance on the back of a good effort at Hamilton, while Flavius Titus and Noble Captain boast winning form at the track and are both capable of featuring at this level.
The return to 6f looks a positive for MISSMIMI who can extend her run of good form at this venue and land a second success of the autumn. Muddy Lynn is entitled to come on for last month's comeback outing at Kempton and is 3 lb below the mark she defied here last summer. Rain Cap completes the shortlist.
Muddy Lynn and Noble Captain can leave recent runs behind them but MISSMIMI is improving and can gain a second C&D win.

3rd (6) (6/1 +0%) Inversion |
6/1(+0%) | (6) Inversion 6/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Seemingly failed to stay 1¼m at Windsor last time. Showed promise over 1m prior to that and has the profile of an improver in handicaps. Smart pedigree and makes her handicap debut at a realistic level; one to be interested in. |

9th (4) (16/1 +0%) Power Of Gold |
16/1(+0%) | (4) Power Of Gold 16/1, Eleven runs since last win in 2023. Eighth of 9 in handicap at Ayr (1m, good) 14 days ago but did shape quite well when fourth at Ayr prior to that. Inconsistent this season but his best efforts bring him right into the picture. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
WALSON'S LAW took a step forward when just failing to catch the winner over course and distance on his handicap debut. The son of Wootton Bassett has plenty of scope for further progress off his current mark and first-time cheekpieces may also help his cause. Shaladar returns to the Tapeta with solid claims based on his recent placed efforts at Ascot, while The Cookstown Cafu has been in good form over 7f here lately. Inversion is also worth a second glance now handicapping.
WALSON'S LAW went up 4 lb for his recent near miss over C&D but it'll be a surprise if this 3-y-o from the Boughey stable doesn't have more improvement in him and he's preferred to fellow lightly-raced 3-y-o Inversion. Shaladar is tricky to win with but arrives in form and ought to be on the premises again.
Walson's Law is respected now tried in headgear but INVERSION is bred to be much better than her opening mark and she is preferred.

9th (8) (16/1 -14%) Swordplay |
16/1(-14%) | (8) Swordplay 16/1, Twelve runs since last win in 2023. Narrowly denied at Lingfield (turf) in July but below that level twice since. Has become wickedly unpredictable, having finished tailed off last time. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
BULLET POINT showed promise on his return from a break at Wolverhampton recently and the unexposed son of Advertise can step forward eased 1lb in the ratings. That said, Yorkstone was in good form when last seen in January. He would be a real threat if returning at the top of his game, though the race-fit Commander Of Life might be the bigger danger.
While BULLET POINT didn't take the step forward the market seemingly anticipated on his Wolverhampton handicap debut it was still a decent run and his lightly-raced profile provides hope that he can build on that. Yorkstone will be a danger if resuming in the same form as when last seen at the turn of the year. Commander of Life ended his time with Marco Botti in reasonable form and also makes the shortlist.
All of these come with risks. BULLET POINT had no excuses on his handicap debut but that was after a break and he can improve again.

1st (8) (16/1 -14%) Wheres The Crumpet |
16/1(-14%) | (8) Wheres The Crumpet 16/1, Course winner. Latest win at Ayr in July. 14/1, tenth of 12 in handicap at this course (10.2f) 14 days ago. Back down in trip. Not completely dismissed. Two wins in 0-50 classified events this year but 0-15 in handicaps; others stronger. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (4/1 +60%) Mr Heinz |
4/1(+60%) | (9) Mr Heinz 4/1, C&D winner. Latest win here in September. 25/1, twelfth of 15 in handicap at Redcar (7f, good) 20 days ago. Others are more persuasive. Record over C&D reads 12413 and just 2lb higher than for his latest success last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (11/2 +21%) Whatwouldyouknow |
11/2(+21%) | (4) Whatwouldyouknow 11/2, 3-time C&D winner. Fifteen runs since last win in 2023. 10/1, sixth of 10 in handicap at this C&D 21 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Can make presence felt. 5lb lower than when winning this race two years ago; could go well if bouncing back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (9/1 +36%) Jujubella |
9/1(+36%) | (3) Jujubella 9/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Last of 12 in handicap at Roscommon (7.7f, good to soft, 10/1). Off 155 days. Makes tapeta debut. First run for yard after leaving Shane Crawley. Uphill task. Beaten a long way in four starts in Ireland; watch market on stable/AW debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (17/2 -89%) Pop Favorite |
17/2(-89%) | (10) Pop Favorite 17/2, 5-time C&D winner. Good fifth of 10 in handicap (13/2) at this course (7.1f) 11 days ago, running on. Goes well here and is likely to be on the premises again. Five-time C&D winner and looked unlucky not to finish closer last time; could go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (4/1 -60%) End Zone |
4/1(-60%) | (2) End Zone 4/1, Creditable fourth of 10 in handicap at this course (7.1f, 10/3) 11 days ago, left poorly placed. Blinkers back on. Handicapped to win and makes plenty of appeal. Continues to edge down the weights and return to this trip should suit; each-way claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (18/1 -29%) Mr Strutter |
18/1(-29%) | (5) Mr Strutter 18/1, C&D winner. Eleven runs since last win in 2023. 16/1, ninth of 12 in handicap at this course (10.2f) 14 days ago. Back down in trip. Last AW win came over C&D off this mark in June last year, but others still more solid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (28/1 -250%) Our Noble Lord |
28/1(-250%) | (7) Our Noble Lord 28/1, 4/1, eighth of 9 in handicap at this course (10.2f) 28 days ago, very slowly away. Down in trip. Others are more appealing. 0-9 and has only beaten three rivals in five starts on the AW; others more persuasive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) (33/1 -65%) Curious Mrs Fox |
33/1(-65%) | (11) Curious Mrs Fox 33/1, Last of 10 in handicap (16/1) at this course (7.1f) 11 days ago. Others make more appeal. 0-11 and behind two of these here 11 days ago; limited appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (6) (10/3 +44%) Masterpainter |
10/3(+44%) | (6) Masterpainter 10/3, One win from 21 Flat runs. Seventeen runs since last win in 2022. 14/1, good fourth of 14 in handicap at this C&D 33 days ago. Blinkers back on. Others more persuasive. 1-21 but favourably treated on his best efforts over C&D; shortlist material. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
The money came for END ZONE last time out, but Roger Fell's charge could only manage fourth. However, the son of Dark Angel is 1lb lower now and, with the return to 1m in his favour, he could gain compensation. Masterpainter has been edging down the handicap and last month's C&D fourth was more encouraging. Others to note include Pop Favorite and Our Noble Lord.
END ZONE is well treated and shaped better than the result when fourth here last time, so he looks the one to be with in a thin race. Pop Favorite and Whatwouldyouknow both go well here and are likely to play a part.
Whatwouldyouknow, the 2022 winner, can go well but MR HEINZ (nap), whose record over C&D reads 12413, makes plenty of appeal.

1st (4) (15/2 +53%) Front Gunner |
15/2(+53%) | (4) Front Gunner 15/2, Hooded for 1st time, respectable seventh of 13 in handicap (10/1) at this course (6f) 21 days ago. Record stands at 0-11 and he will need to find something extra in order to open his account in this contest. Maiden been well held the last twice tried in cheekpieces and then a hood. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (4/1 +50%) No Saint |
4/1(+50%) | (9) No Saint 4/1, Thirteen runs since last win in 2023. 10/1, fourth of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 15 days ago, running on. Likely to come up short once more. Standout run for this yard was ten months ago and he has become disappointing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (13/2 -30%) Concert Boy |
13/2(-30%) | (8) Concert Boy 13/2, C&D winner in May 2023, which remains his sole success from 31 appearances. That said, he's pretty reliable and posted another good effort when beaten a head in the 10-runner C&D handicap won by Yaahobby 11 days ago. Solid each-way chance. Behind Yaahobby the last twice but was only a head away the last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (5/4 +58%) Drakeholes |
5/4(+58%) | (3) Drakeholes 5/4, Three-time C&D winner, including when taking a 10-runner handicap 11 days ago, overcoming a positional bias in the process. 3 lb rise fair enough and looks sure to be involved in the finish once again. Third win over C&D when coming from off the pace to collect with a bit in hand 11 days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (9/1 -29%) Barossa |
9/1(-29%) | (7) Barossa 9/1, C&D winner in July. 4/1, bit below form 3¼ lengths fifth of 10 to Drakeholes in handicap at this C&D 11 days ago. Just the one win from 20 career starts and she looks vulnerable. Pushed Yaahobby close here last month and took a strong hold when only fifth to Drakeholes. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (9/1 -125%) Yaahobby |
9/1(-125%) | (6) Yaahobby 9/1, Improved on recent efforts to win 10-runner handicap at this C&D (10/1) 11 days ago by head from Concert Boy, overcoming pace bias. 2 lb rise almost certainly underestimates him and he should make a bold bid to complete the hat-trick. Seeking a C&D hat-trick having prevailed narrowly the last twice under hold-up tactics. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) (66/1 -100%) Mr Coco Bean |
66/1(-100%) | (10) Mr Coco Bean 66/1, Forty-five runs since last win in 2021. 5¾ lengths seventh of 11 to Yaahobby in handicap at this C&D (50/1) 21 days ago, slowly away. No real reason to think this 10-y-o will reverse the placings with that rival this time. Seven-time winner but the last of those was ages ago; very opposable on recent form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (22/1 -529%) Garifullina |
22/1(-529%) | (1) Garifullina 22/1, Two wins from 5 runs this year, the latest at Redcar in July. 6/4, creditable second of 10 in handicap at Catterick (6f, soft) 13 days ago. On the downside, the fact that she has failed to fire in 2 previous visits here is cause for concern. Nothing to show from her two visits here but in much better form now. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
There has been no stopping Yaahobby of late and he arrives following back-to-back C&D successes. Concert Boy has finished behind him on both occasions, but the latest of those efforts when only going down by a head suggests he could reverse the form on revised terms. DRAKEHOLES was worth more than the winning margin suggests on his most recent outing, though, and could be too strong for the pair of them.
All things considered, YAAHOBBY was value for more than the margin of victory here recently and a 2 lb nudge is unlikely to be enough to prevent Antony Brittain's charge from completing the hat-trick. Drakeholes registered a third C&D success on the same card 11 days ago and he is second choice ahead of Concert Boy, who was beaten just a head by the selection last time and is likely to be in the thick of things once again.
It makes sense to focus on those in form and DRAKEHOLES appeared to have a bit up his sleeve when collecting here last time.
Ths is the racecard key.
