13:17 Pontefract Handicap (Class 4) 6f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Runner-up to an unbeaten colt at Chester, DARK ROSA was then able to go one better over C&D. George Boughey's filly now steps into the nursery ranks, but a mark of 76 doesn't appear harsh and she is expected to double her tally. Top Juggler is proven with cut in the ground having won at Hamilton in August. John and Sean Quinn's charge doesn't look overburdened by an opening mark of 79 either and he can give another good account of himself. Stirrup Cup is also noted.

VEYDARI is unlikely to live up to his 200,000 gns Breeze-Up price tag but has shown enough to think he has a race like this in him and gets the vote back from a gelding operation. C&D maiden winner Dark Rosa, Top Juggler and Sir Palamedes are among the other likely players.

Being a progressive filly who has solid form and scored over C&D most recently, DARK ROSA (nap) holds particularly strong claims.

13:40 Yarmouth Handicap (Class 5) 8f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SOFIA THE FIRST has improved with each run to date and got up on the line to shed her maiden tag over 7f at Lingfield on her most recent outing. The daughter of New Bay shaped as if this step up in trip would suit and she can make a winning nursery debut. Laplander put his underwhelming performances in novice/maiden company well behind him when hitting the crossbar on his first start in a nursery at Sandown last month and he could go well. Gap Year is the pick of the rest.

Andrew Balding's SOFIA THE FIRST looks to have got in lightly for her first go in handicaps so gets the vote. Gap Year is next on the list on the back of his good Newmarket third ahead of Laplander and Many Men.

Having bumped into a thriving winner when runner-up on last month's nursery debut at Sandown, LAPLANDER is taken to go one better.

13:45 Killarney Maiden 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Placed in a claiming maiden at Navan in August, J M'S JOY made late headway in a decent contest won by a subsequent Listed winner at Listowel last time. Her dam won six races for Pat Martin including a couple on heavy ground and the daughter of Elzaam has prospects in a race restricted to those rated no higher than 75. Tangapour shaped well in a strong maiden at Leopardstown and is capable of better than his well-beaten third on the all-weather since. Fairhaven, a disappointing favourite at Down Royal, handled heavy ground well when third at Roscommon while Heldtoransom wasn't far behind the placed horses at the Curragh last month and is another in the mix.

HELDTORANSOM looks the obvious one after 2 promising efforts. Fairhaven has the form to play a part if bouncing back, while Tangapour may yet do better.

TANGAPOUR gets the nod. He shaped well in a much stronger race than this on debut and if he can repeat that run, he is the one to beat.

13:52 Pontefract Handicap (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A typically open sprint in which many will fancy their chances, and only a tentative vote can go to OBJECT. Fourth behind the reopposing Alafdhal (second) at Catterick last week, that performance is worth a slight upgrade given he raced alone with no cover for the entirety of the contest. The market clearly expected better that day and, from his low draw, the son of Aclaim could repay his supporters. Yazaman had excuses at Redcar and is no forlorn hope, while others to note include Music Society and Profiteer.

It could be worth chancing TRAVEL CANDY, who lurks on a very tempting mark after a quiet year and shaped with more promise at Redcar last time. Alafdhal, successful here in April and runner-up on his last 3 starts, including back over C&D, is an obvious contender. Willolarupi and Music Society complete the shortlist.

Based on his recent form and handy mark, ALAFDHAL has a good chance of recording a second C&D win. Object is second choice.

13:58 Fairyhouse Maiden Hurdle 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

SANSRISK appeals on her third start over hurdles. She has already taken the runner-up berth in a maiden hurdle behind a more than useful horse in Thurles last winter. This year she has been placed in a bumper at Naas before delivering in that discipline at Downpatrick. Meet My Loreley hasn't been at her best since falling at this track last year, however, she has ability and this isn't a deep race by any means. Gordon Elliott's Fillusin has to be given respect ahead of her hurdling bow. She was good enough to win a Tramore bumper on her racecourse debut in May.

SANSRISK upped her game in bumpers earlier this year and remains low mileage over timber. She can land the opener. Fillusin and International Lady should also go well.

This looks a good opportunity for SANSRISK who showed good form against useful opposition in two outings over hurdes last winter

14:07 Stratford Conditions Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Wallquatari represents the in-form Donald McCain stable and that suggests that the Waldpark gelding could go well under Brian Hughes, but preference remains with DENZIL. A full-brother to the classy Nube Negra, the Skelton team won this last year with an unraced gelding and may well do so again. That leaves Celestial Ruby to follow them home, unless the betting suggests otherwise.

No form to go on and the betting will be revealing, with DENZIL, brother to the yard's star performer Nube Negra, taken to make a successful start before market clues.

Dan Skelton won this race in 2023 and this year he introduces DENZIL, a brother to his high-class chaser Nube Negra.

14:15 Yarmouth Stakes (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Bintjeddah took a big leap forward from her debut effort when scoring by three lengths at Haydock last month and she should mount a bold bid, despite her 7lb penalty. However, the vote goes to STARLIT SPICE, who produced a promising effort to take the silver medal home on her first start at Leicester. The daughter of Sea The Stars is likely to have plenty more to offer and can go one better. Any market support for Hot Flame needs to be taken seriously.

STARLIT SPICE couldn't have created a much more favourable impression on debut and should be winning sooner rather than later, though Pearl of Hope shaped well on debut also and Bint Jeddah can improve again and play a part despite a stiff penalty.

A 180,000gns sister to a 1m 2yo winner, STARLIT SPICE can make the most of the 7lb she receives from the penalised Bintjeddah.

14:20 Killarney Maiden 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

QUATRAIN was runner-up on her first two starts at Gowran Park and handled soft ground well on the first occasion. Outclassed in a Listed race in June, the daughter of Mastercraftsman had been off three months before finishing third to a talented newcomer at Listowel and will be sharper for that outing. Vadali has some solid form on soft ground and went close at the Galway festival in August. Below-par at Punchestown last time, he now goes without the hood. The selection's stablemate Ata Rangi had some creditable runs on testing ground early in the season and returns from a break while Castanets has been consistent but needs to find a bit more and is unproven on easy ground.

QUATRAIN has been placed on all 3 of her starts in maidens and this could be a good opening. Castanets and Vadali must be considered also.

A hopeful vote goes to QUATRAIN, who handled soft on her debut and has been placed on all three maiden attempts

14:27 Pontefract Stakes (Class 2) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Charlie Appleby boasts an excellent 38 per cent strike-rate (17-45) when sending runners to Pontefract and, with that in mind, preference is for DOUBLE MEANING, who hinted at promise over 1m on debut at Newmarket. A step up in trip should suit the son of Farhh and it would come as no surprise were he to find the necessary improvement. Ralph Beckett keeps churning out the winners and Haydock runner-up Sir Dinadan merits the utmost respect. Way Of Stars is most appealing of the remainder.

SIR DINADAN improved a lot from his first run to his second and looks primed for success, Way of Stars is next best on form and has a bigger performance in him, while Novelista should step forward from debut.

Sir Dinadan and Way Of Stars are major contenders upped in trip, while NOVELISTA (narrowly preferred) is open to improvement.

14:33 Fairyhouse Maiden Hurdle 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

MINELLA SIXO made a six-figure sum after winning his point-to-point at Loughrea in May and is of interest on racecourse debut for Gordon Elliott. This Shantou gelding is a brother to a Listed bumper winner in Britain. Oh So Charming fell at the first flight in the valuable Lartigue Hurdle in Listowel, but is better judged on his close second at Galway last month. Taponthego is another point-to-point graduate that is worth a market check on his first start for Henry de Bromhead. Banana Three is a former Flat winner who showed up well in third on his first crack at hurdling in Wexford, while Ardera Gun, Yarraman Makarrata and Jerrari add more spice to the mix.

This can go to BANANA THREE, who was fairly useful on the level and is entitled to progress from his encouraging Wexford hurdling bow. Oh So Charming looks the obvious danger on form, whilst Minella Sixo and Taponthego appeal most of the newcomers.

Point winner MINELLA SIXO, a graduate of John Nallen's academy, looks a likely type and can take this on hurdling debut

Razzo Italiano looks for a hat-trick after wins here and at Worcester last month. He can go close, but the booking of Freddie Gingell to ride FLASHY BOY catches the eye. Making his first start for last year's winning trainer and his second run after a wind operation, the Sageburg gelding could surprise them all. Eurkash, Only Fools and Copshill Lad are others to consider.

EURKASH shaped well for his new handler when runner-up over fences at Fontwell and can capitalise on a lenient-looking mark back hurdling now. Razzo Italiano is feared most in his hat-trick bid, with Copshill Lad, Only Fools and Rebel Intentions all in the picture too.

The most interesting runner is arguably COPSHILL LAD, who makes his stable debut from a workable mark and with new headgear added.

14:50 Yarmouth Stakes (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

ZANZOUN only found the subsequent Group 3 winner Tabiti too good on her debut at Newmarket in August and that looks like the best form on offer in this contest. John & Thady Gosden's youngster might only need to find minimal improvement in order to shed her maiden tag at the second time of asking. Jowddah has run to a good level on both of her starts to date, filling the runner-up spot on both occasions and she commands respect. Any market support for newcomer Rhapsody should be noted too.

ZANZOUN looks the one to be with after a promising debut Newmarket second. Jowddah has a similar level of form and should still improve, while Godolphin's Cardinal Point is likely to step forward from debut.

The Gosden yard's ZANZOUN did nothing wrong when runner-up on her debut and can improve to win here. Jowddah is second choice.

14:55 Killarney Handicap 8f  Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

SAITH SEREN has shown promise in her first two handicaps and may improve for the application of a tongue-tie. Andrew Lee's filly handled soft ground when fifth in Galway festival contest that has worked out well and was a bit keen when sixth to older horses over C&D last time. Back against her own age group, she's capable of a big run. Nika Pika represents a yard that has hit form and made late headway when second at Listowel. Nans View showed up well on soft ground when second on handicap debut at Galway while the consistent Finsceal Annie went close on yielding ground last time but may be better suited by a sounder surface.

CARRIED WITH LOVE can improve now handicapping and could open her account faced with a quick turnaround following her much-improved display at Down Royal last week. Finsceal Annie, who was chinned at Bellewstown on Thursday, and Martinelli are a couple of the others to consider.

Patrick McGettigan's claim is a useful asset and may be enough to sway this in favour of Listowel runner-up NIKA PIKA

15:02 Pontefract Handicap (Class 4) 8f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

RETRACEMENT failed to see out 1m2f when carrying a penalty at Goodwood, but he won a maiden over C&D before that and a strong bid is anticipated from William Haggas' inmate now handicapping. Sea The Dream ran well for third at Southwell last time and will relish the testing conditions, as will Epidavros, who is attempting to land a hat-trick now raised a further 3lb after scoring at Hamilton. Graecia is open to improvement on only her second start in a handicap and is another to note.

Quite a few to be positive about in this 3-y-o handicap with GOOD MORNING ALEX taken to resume winning ways. He's had a tremendous year and should be spot on now from a couple of runs in useful contests after a mid-season break. Sea The Dream, Retracement and Paladin are other likely contenders.

The suggestion is SEA THE DREAM, who holds a solid chance returned to turf. Hat-trick seeker Epidavros is second choice.

15:08 Fairyhouse Handicap Hurdle 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

CHATTERBOX doesn't look badly treated and has each-way claims in this handicap hurdle. John Murphy's charge finished second in a higher grade at Killarney in July when headed on the run-in. It might be best to put a line through her latest unplaced run on the Flat at Galway when a slow start ruined her chance. The more rain the better for Sayitfirst who obliged in Roscommon at the end of September. Katherine hit form with a vengeance in Kilbeggan and a 7lb rise shouldn't hinder her if she is in the same mood. Bayou Belle may be a long-standing maiden but is a consistent sort, while Realtin Lonrach showed marked improvement in third at Wexford in May.

Last year's winner SAYITFIRST produced a personal best when scoring at Roscommon last week and remains feasibly treated. She can take this prize home again. Katherine and Bayou Belle head the list of dangers.

Preference is for BALLYCOMMON CHAPEL, runner-up in two of her last four starts including when coming home well at Gowran on Friday

15:17 Stratford Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Vocito returns to novice company after struggling in a Cartmel handicap, but he has impressed at this level twice at Worcester and seems a decent sort. However, he has to give 12lb or more to his rivals here, including triple bumper winner Ronnies Rules, and the interesting WESTERTON. Alan King's four-year-old was last seen finishing third at Newcastle on the level and, with a peak Flat rating of 100, he is an interesting recruit if he takes to hurdling.

There should be more to come from RIDIN SOLO this season and he gets the nod in a tricky-looking contest. Hurdling-debutants Westerton and Ronnies Rules head the list of dangers.

A few of these have possibilities but LAURENS BAY made a pleasing start to his rules career in a bumper in March and gets the nod.

15:25 Yarmouth Stakes (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Manhattan Mirage has placed form on soft ground, but returned a beaten favourite when last seen at Ripon in June. MELON TWIST makes more appeal returning to this distance, having ran out of steam attempting to make all over 7f at Southwell, as the daughter of Showcasing is steadily improving. Makes Sense also reverts to a shorter trip and is preferred to Believe It of the remainder.

Karl Burke's MELON TWIST looks to have been found an excellent opportunity to get off the mark at the chief expense of Kempton-fourth Makes Sense and Raphael Freire's new recruit Manhattan Mirage.

A return to ground softer than good may well assist Manhattan Mirage but it looks safer to side with MELON TWIST.

15:30 Killarney Handicap 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

SAN AER goes well on testing ground and often comes good in the autumn. The C&D maiden winner has won the same late-season handicap at Galway in each of the last two campaigns and was a creditable third at that venue last month. Imposing Supreme was a winner at Galway in August and has plenty of form on an easy surface while Starting Monday, although a long time winless, is a real heavy-ground specialist and was second at Leopardstown in the spring. See Me Through showed good form in the first half of the season, including a victory over C&D, and has been gelded since last seen while Sirjack Thomas comes here after a string of good recent efforts.

A case can be made for a few of these but SEA CHARIOT comes here on the up so is taken to build on his Navan second and resume winning ways. Tachos heads the list of dangers on the back of her solid Gowran fifth ahead of in-form pair Walhaan and San Aer.

Gillian Scott had a winner at the Listowel festival and could strike here with STARTING MONDAY who should have his favoured ground.

15:37 Pontefract Handicap (Class 5) 18f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

JUSTUS ticks plenty of boxes having won on testing ground over C&D before scoring again at Ripon back in April. The six-year-old has gone well fresh in the past and Micky Hammond will likely have him primed for action on his return. Surrey Force lurks at the bottom of the handicap with scope for improvement over this marathon trip having placed at Chester last time. Soft ground is a worry for Weddell Sea so Yorkindness may prove a bigger threat back at this lower level.

A number to consider but staying handicaps could be the making of 3-y-o SURREY FORCE and he gets the vote after another promising run at Chester recently. Cinnodin is feared, with course-regular Yorkindness and Hardy Bloke a couple of the other players.

Upped further in trip and receiving plenty of weight from his elders, in-form 3yo SURREY FORCE could well open his account.

15:43 Fairyhouse Maiden Hurdle 20f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

The 114-rated HOW ABOUT NO could make the breakthrough over flights. He has posted three runner-up finishes in maiden hurdles and slower ground shouldn't inconvenience him. His trainer, Joseph O'Brien, is averaging a winner a day over the last three weeks. Big Chou has a long absence to overcome, however, there was merit in his never nearer fourth on hurdle debut at Naas. Charlie's Dilemma has tried a variety of trips, and has been placed four times, so is far from out of it. Where's Nanny hasn't been at her best in two runs in August and September, but represents the champion trainer and has a bumper success in the book.

This represents a good opportunity for HOW ABOUT NO to deservedly open his account in this sphere. A winner on the Flat in February, he has found one too good on each of his three starts over hurdles. Big Chou was safely held in a bumper last December but previously shaped well in a Naas maiden hurdle and he gets the nod for forecast purposes ahead of Charlie's Dilemma and Stay Gold.

Although a beaten favourite on all three starts over hurdles, HOW ABOUT NO hasn't been doing much wrong and is given another chance

15:52 Stratford Handicap Chase (Class 4) 23f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Last-time-out winner Post Chaise has improved for the application of blinkers and the lack of headgear on his return to action tempers enthusiasm. With that in mind, it could be worth taking a punt on Nigel Twiston-Davies' BALLYCAMUS on his seasonal debut. The Naunton-based yard are flying at present and the seven-year-old looks to have more to offer over fences. C&D scorer The Boola Boss is feared most.

Nigel Twiston-Davies has his string in fine order at present and his BALLYCAMUS is selected to make a winning return at the expense of The Boola Boss, who took his form up a notch when recording a third victory over fences at this C&D back in May. Post Chaise was another last-time-out winner, so he rounds off the shortlist on reappearance.

Two of these were last-time-out winners but this may be best left to BALLYCAMUS, who did well during his first season over fences.

16:00 Yarmouth Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

LIBERATUS showed good battling qualities when coming out best in a fight to the line at Hamilton last month. His dam won over this longer trip and Charlie Johnston's inmate can improve further now handicapping. Bracklesham Bay has shown progressive form in nurseries and landed a double with his latest victory at Bath, though he's been raised 8lb for that success and is upped in class. Flying Fortress may improve in first-time cheekpieces and makes more appeal than Stormy Monday.

BRACKLESHAM BAY arrives on the up so is fancied to complete his hat-trick at the chief expense of recent Hamilton scorer Liberatus. Stormy Monday appeals as a likely improver on his handicap debut and can also have a big say in this open nursery.

This looks between two and the Jamie Osborne-trained BRACKLESHAM BAY, who is on a hat-trick, is just preferred to Liberatus.

16:05 Killarney Maiden 11f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Having finished runner-up on her latest two starts, the Joseph O'Brien-trained RADAR AHEAD can register a first career win. A real eyecatcher when staying on late into third on debut at Ballinrobe, the filly has done little wrong in two subsequent starts. From a favourable low draw, Dylan Browne McMonagle is likely to go forward and make this a proper test. Market Timing ran a very promising race when runner-up at Bellewstown in August, but may not have stayed when stepped up in trip at Navan last time. With an official rating of 83, the Ger Lyons-trained filly just about sets the standard. Get, who raced prominently before keeping on for third in that aforementioned Navan race, shouldn't be far away under Wayne Lordan.

RADAR HEAD possesses the best form on show so is taken to go one better than her recent Bellewstown second and get off the mark. Saol Gaelach is next on the list on the back of her solid Listowel fourth with Get and Elana Osaraio also well worthy of consideration.

Joseph O'Brien's team is in form and RADAR AHEAD (nap) should be hard to beat on the strength of last week's Bellewstown second

16:12 Pontefract Handicap (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

POET'S DAWN has to be forgiven a below-par effort at York, but looks worth another chance based on his convincing win at Carlisle in August. Tim Easterby's charge made every yard on the soft going on that occasion and looks set to go close again if allowed his own way at the head of affairs. Walsingham is expected to improve making his handicap debut on only his second start for David O'Meara's yard, while Style Of Life could also go well after scoring at Thirsk three weeks ago.

WALSINGHAM is in good hands and shaped as if needing the run on his yard debut at Redcar last month. He makes fair appeal on his first crack in handicap company. Style of Life and Urban Sprawl are feared most.

Having been beaten only narrowly by an unexposed 3yo last week, URBAN SPRAWL gets the vote. Arkenstaar is second choice.

16:18 Fairyhouse Handicap Hurdle 24f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Killarney National winner BRIDESWELL LAD raced over an inadequate trip when sixth in a Tramore handicap hurdle, but will enjoy this test of stamina. He is clearly much better over fences, but has banked two hurdle victories during his career. There is certainly another handicap hurdle to be won with Wa Wa. He travelled smoothly in Roscommon before being outgunned by the winner and a similar effort would see him go close. Outside The Door is another looking to exploit a lower mark over hurdles and has a part to play, while Tankardstown Diva could get involved. Yulong Voice catches the eye after a good second at Cork in May, but the forecast rain is not music to his ears.

YULONG VOICE pulled clear of the rest when runner-up at Cork on his latest start in May and, provided that he is ready to roll following a break, this 7-y-o may well go one better here. Next on the list is Outside The Door, who scored off a 10 lb higher chase mark at Wexford last time. Built By Rossies and Midleton Rare both bring potential to the table now handicapping, while Arabian King will be a threat if able to get back on track.

Still lightly enough raced, TANKARDSTOWN DIVA could have mileage left in her handicap mark back to a more suitable trip.

16:23 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Pride Of Nepal came up short in his hat-trick bid at Newmarket recently, but he remains in good form and must feature prominently in calculations. However, the vote goes to VISIBILITY. Scott Dixon's charge shaped as if ready for a return to further when finishing third over the extended mile here a week ago and the five-time course winner can capitalise on a workable mark. Bass Player is another to consider.

PRIDE OF NEPAL failed to complete the hat-trick at Newmarket last time but it was still a creditable effort and this isn't as strong a race, so he's preferrred to Yeoman. Visibility's course record makes him worthy of respect despite his lack of consistency.

A handful to consider and perhaps this is the race in which PRIDE OF NEPAL will break his AW duck.

16:27 Stratford Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Having hit the frame in novice company at Southwell and Cartmel in May, point-to-point winner EATON ANNE makes plenty of appeal on his handicap bow. An opening mark of 97 looks lenient and the six-year-old is likely to relish this step up in trip. Hard As Nails also enters this sphere off what looks a fair rating and the Fergal O'Brien-trained mare isn't taken lightly. River Robe and Paddys Island have the form to feature as well.

Handicap-debutants PADDYS ISLAND, Eaton Anne and Hard As Nails can come to the fore with preference for the first-named, who showed more than enough in three starts here during the summer to suggest that he will be competitive off this mark. Quick of The Night will also have a chance if she puts her best foot forward.

Winning Irish pointer EATON ANNE (nap) launched his hurdling career with two good efforts in the spring and still has more to offer.

16:35 Yarmouth Handicap (Class 5) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Winning hurdler MACARI can open his account on the level after finishing runner-up over 1m4f on testing going at Newmarket 11 days ago. The four-year-old finished well clear of the rest that day and this looks less competitive. Afloat is a dual winner over 1m2f here and went close again on her latest start, while Sarmiento Power posted his best effort so far when second at Newcastle on his handicap debut. Twin Earth is another unexposed type capable of making his presence felt.

Lots with chances but Roger Varian's SARMIENTO POWER found just one too strong on his handicap debut at Newcastle last month, so he's fancied to go a place better with further improvement on the cards. In-form course winner Afloat heads the list of dangers, with the likes of Fram Castle, Mrs Meader and Turner Girl also well in the mix in this competitive handicap.

The unexposed SARMIENTO POWER looks progressive from just four starts and should stay the extra distance. Afloat is next best.

16:40 Killarney Handicap 11f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

On 17lb better terms, FAIRY WINGS has every chance of reversing recent Listowel form with Beyond Your Dreams. Slowly away at the Harvest Festival, the Willie McCreery-trained filly had plenty to do in rear over two furlongs out, but stayed on well to get within four and a quarter lengths at the finish. If able to hold a more prominent early pitch here, the daughter of Rajj should relish the long straight. Despite being hit with a 10lb hike for winning that aforementioned race, Beyond Your Dreams looks an improving filly. Joseph O'Brien's daughter of Fastnet Rock is sure to be involved once again. Galway third Abbey Actress, who is bred to want this trip, could take a significant step forward.

Lots with chances. ABBEY ACTRESS took a step forward when third in a big field at Galway on her handicp debut and with the prospect of more to come over this longer trip she gets the vote. The handily-weighted Fairy Wings could emerge as the main danger with in-form duoTanazadia and Ice Opera both well in the mix too.

ABBEY ACTRESS is preferred. She showed promise on handicap debut at Galway, this step up in trip will suit and she is proven on soft

16:45 Pontefract Handicap (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Game Breaker successfully completed a Hamilton double on her most recent start and while she is in this sort of form, she is hard to ignore. However, the more appealing option is ALTMORE. The unexposed son of Showcasing beat a rival now rated 74 to shed his maiden tag at Chepstow last month and has plenty of scope for improvement, so he can defy his opening mark of 76. Emperor Caradoc is the pick of remainder.

GAME BREAKER is thriving at the moment and has already proven herself on slow ground. She can complete the hat-trick. Altmore and Emperor Caradoc look the likeliest dangers.

Altmore has obvious potential in handicaps but GAME BREAKER is a good alternative as she's looked in particularly good form of late.

16:50 Fairyhouse Handicap Hurdle 24f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Recent Galway third DIVILABOTHER can step up a couple of places here for local trainer Thomas Coyle. The lightly-raced six-year-old has gone close on a few occasions this season, including when runner-up at Sligo in July. With the aforementioned Galway race having been boosted by the second-placed horse subsequently, the Markaz gelding looks the one to beat. Hill Rocket, another who has been shaping as though her turn is near, has to be given serious consideration. Trainer Cian Collins has his string in excellent form at present so the mare is one for the shortlist. Ballinrobe runner-up Ranger Billy is another capable of getting involved in what is quite a competitive race for the grade.

RANGER BILLY is on a handy mark and looks in top form, so he takes preference over Divilabother, with Royal Cave also worthy of consideration in an open contest.

Runner-up on handicap debut at Kilbeggan last month over this trip, ROYAL CAVE can go one better.

16:55 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 5) 5f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Son Of Wind was raised 11lb for August's Chelmsford triumph, but his two subsequent performances are evidence that he can compete from his current figure. The son of Kessaar may find one too strong again, though, and it is SPIRITUALISM who is preferred. Amy Murphy's filly weakened late on over 6f at Lingfield so a drop to the minimum trip should aid her cause, while a mark of 70 looks well within range. Tongue-tied ahead of her nursery debut, Mirage Mistress warrants a market check.

SON OF WIND looks the one to be with after his C&D second a month ago. Over Spiced8 is respected on handicap debut, as is Invincible Crown given a first go on tapeta.

Judged on his sole AW effort, INVINCIBLE CROWN is very attractively handicapped off a mark of 71. Son Of Wind is second choice.

17:02 Stratford Handicap Chase (Class 5) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

EVERYONESACRITIC has finished third on each of his last two starts in this grade over the smaller obstacles and he now makes his chase debut. Evan Williams' five-year-old might prove a different proposition over fences and it would be no surprise to see him return to winning ways. Bridget Mary is a point-to-point winner who is yet to taste success under Rules, but the switch to this chasing might bring out some improvement, so she is one to note. Of the remainder, Eric Carmen makes the most appeal.

Point-winners BRIDGET MARY and Everyonesacritic can be expected to step up on what they showed over hurdles now switched to the larger obstacles. The vote goes to the former, who may benefit from this drop back in trip and she makes her chase debut on a fair mark. Eric Carmen is the pick of those with experience in this sphere and he is third choice ahead of dual hurdles winner Libor Lad.

Class-dropper TORONET made a low-key chasing debut in July but is nicely treated on some of his hurdling form and worth chancing.

17:10 Yarmouth Handicap (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Tribal Chief is looking for a hat-trick after wins at Kempton and Epsom, but he is off 6lb higher now and may find some of his rivals are better handicapped. Dream Pirate fits that description off a mark of 64, having won off 1lb higher in October last year, but TERRIES ROYALE could be the one. An easy winner at Newmarket last time out, the four-year-old has been put up 5lb for that but after only nine races, there may still be improvement to come.

With his yard going great guns TRIBAL CHIEF is taken to complete the hat-trick. He's gone up a total of 12 lb for his victories at Kempton and Epsom but there's good reason to believe that he may still harbour secrets from the handicapper. Provided he goes on the ground Never Better will be a serious threat given his potential, while recent Newmarket scorer Terries Royale and Urban Lion are others to consider.

This can go to NEVER BETTER (nap), who remains open to improvement. A better effort from Dream Pirate wouldn't surprise.

17:15 Killarney Maiden 11f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

If anywhere near peak fitness on his first start since May, REALISM should have too much ability for these rivals. A 99-rated maiden who was Group 3-placed at the Curragh a couple of seasons back, the Joseph O'Brien-trained gelding has been plying his trade over hurdles. Following a respectable third at Cork when last seen, the five-year-old can lose his maiden status on his first Flat start since October 2022. Impero, who made a pleasing debut for the Cian Collins stable when runner-up over hurdles at Listowel, could be the main threat. Twice placed on the level at this track, the gelding is open to improvement for his in-form trainer. The vastly experienced Cast A Spell looks best of the remainder.

REALISM, who was third in a novice hurdle at Cork when last seen in May, is presented with a golden opportunity to open his account and it'll be disappointing should he fail to deliver. Palo Duro is preferred to Cast A Spell for forecast purposes.

This race revolves around the 99 rated REALISM. He'll be hard to beat on these terms if fit and retaining most of his ability.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Beauty Choice, who took a division of this race 12 months ago, has occupied third spot on each of his two outings since scoring at Catterick, including in a warmer event at Haydock last time, so he is one to take seriously. However, it may pay to side with ORBITAL CHIME, who produced a good effort to make the frame at Epsom and the handicapper might have been kind to drop him 1lb for that performance. Wichahpi is another to keep an eye on.

HARRY'S HALO wasn't ideally placed when third in a stronger contest at Haydock last time and gets the nod in an open-looking finale. Punchbowl Flyer and Beauty Choice can also make their presence felt.

C&D winner HARRY'S HALO makes most appeal after his staying-on third in a competitive race at Haydock recently.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

The Declan Queally-trained TWENTYFOURCARROT would have strong claims if able to reproduce her debut effort. Third on her introduction at Wexford in April, that form was well advertised with the second, fourth and fifth all winning subsequently. Although somewhat disappointing when only sixth at Cork next time, that race may just have come too soon. On the back of a break, the daughter of Balko should have no excuses. Point-to-point winner Machismo showed ability in three bumper starts last season and while the Gordon Elliott-trained gelding may be more of a long-term prospect over jumps, this isn't the strongest of contests. Tramore fourth Belle Le Grand is entitled to be sharper on this second start under Rules.

MACHISMO has a point win to his name and has shown enough to think he's capable of opening his account in bumpers after 6 months off. Twentyfourcarrot is the main danger on form and Belle Le Grand isn't without hope.

Third in a Wexford bumper on debut that has produced loads of winners, TWENTYFOURCARROT is forgiven a lesser run quickly after.

Third in a decent novice event at Salisbury on debut before finishing fourth in a valuable sales race at the Curragh last month, SKY ADVOCATE sets a good standard and will be difficult to beat if negotiating his wide draw. That said, Play Me and Noble Phoenix have shown more than enough to suggest they will be involved and both must be taken seriously. Market support for Oasis Dream colt Riyadh Gem would be noteworthy.

SKY ADVOCATE produced a big effort to finish fourth in a big-field sales race at The Curragh last time and, in these calmer waters, he has an excellent chance of opening his account for all that Riyadh Gem and Initial Blue are notable newcomers.

The clear form pick is Sky Advocate. Most of the newcomers are interesting, particularly SEA BAAEED.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

GORE POINT shaped with plenty of promise on his bumper debut to fill the runner-up spot at Ludlow in November before running too bad to be true at Doncaster the following month. The son of Order Of St George makes his return to action and, if he can run to the level of his first start, he could be the one to beat. Top Tier Gossip is a half-sister to Midnight River and would be of interest if the market speaks in her favour on her debut, along with fellow newcomer Ballymena Boy.

TOP TIER GOSSIP makes plenty of appeal on pedigree and represents a top yard, so she's worth chancing first time out. Ballymena Boy has shown ability in points, so he's one to consider along with Gore Point.

Another chance is given to GORE POINT, who flopped on his second start but did well to take second from a poor position on his debut.

17:45 Yarmouth Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

FLYING SECRET has to carry topweight, but he maintained his unbeaten Yarmouth record with a second win over seven furlongs here last month. The five-year-old looks to have enough speed to do the same over this shorter trip, despite an added 5lb from the handicapper. Mick Appleby is never a trainer to ignore and Snow Berry could do better back at six furlongs if she gets away with the rest of the field, while Realised and Kurimu are looking to recoup losses after being beaten favourites last time out.

The vote goes to MARCHING MAC, who opened his account at the third time of asking for this yard at Brighton and lost little caste in defeat when chasing home a very well-treated rival dropped to 5f at Bath last week. He clearly handles cut in the ground and moving back up to 6f will be in his favour. King of War was beaten by Flying Secret over 7f here recently but is taken to reverse those placings back at this trip on 3 lb better terms. He rates the main danger ahead of Kurimu.

Marching Mac is respected, but MOREGINPLEASE has a good bit in her favour at a likely bigger price and is worth chancing.

18:00 Wolverhampton Stakes (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having scored a shade cosily on her racecourse debut at Beverley in August, BASSADANZA may be able to defy a 7lb penalty. A switch to Tapeta should hold no fears for Charlie Johnston's filly and she edges the vote over Blue Secret. The daughter of Blue Point will have learned plenty from her opening bid when fourth at Newbury and she isn't taken lightly. Newcomers Victoria Harbour and Bella D'oro warrant a check in the betting.

BLUE SECRET shaped quite well on debut and there should be more to come, so he takes preference over Bassadanza, who shoulders a penalty for her debut success at Beverley. Victoria Harbour is one to be interested in first time out.

If the market likes newcomer VICTORIA HARBOUR, this royally bred filly could be the way to go.

18:30 Wolverhampton Stakes (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The penalised Suite Francaise merits respect after her game triumph on her introduction at Newcastle. The Study Of Man filly is likely to be on the premises once more, but all-weather newcomer BEAUTY BY MY SIDE makes slightly more appeal. Kevin Philippart De Foy's juvenile appeared to find softer ground conditions too testing when ninth at Ascot and a reproduction of her fourth-placed debut at Yarmouth may suffice. Take A Breath and Cooramook are also worth a second look.

Preference is for MOTABAAH, who didn't get the breaks at Kempton last time and remains with potential. Take A Breath and Suite Francaise are feared most.

Suite Francaise has already proved herself on Tapeta but TAKE A BREATH can step forward from a promising Salisbury debut.

19:00 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

The progressive Shamardia is likely to make another bold fist of things after getting up to win in the closing stages over 6f here last week. However, a 6lb penalty and unproven stamina may leave her vulnerable. With that in mind, dual C&D winner BOSSY PARKER could be worth chancing, with Stella Barclay's gelding offering more encouragement when fifth over a furlong shorter here a fortnight ago. A Pint Of Bear and Split Elevens also lurk on attractive marks.

Several to consider in this competitive handicap. SAFFREDI is 0-11 but he posted several decent efforts in Irish handicaps for Gavin Cromwell and shaped well starting out for new connections at Bath last month. The return to this trip looks a good move and he could be the answer. Bossy Parker wasn't beaten far here recently and is feared most ahead of recent course winner Shamardia and Stella Hogan.

The 6yo SPLIT ELEVENS has been in great form this year with four wins since July and he can go in again. Shamardia is next best.

19:30 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 4) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Diamond Ranger was successful at Windsor last month, but he was all out to score by a neck and an added 2lb makes his life more difficult. Fearless Bay was an eased-down winner at Southwell in September and an extra 6lb may not stop him going well despite the rise in class, but a chance is taken on HAKU. His five victories have all been on the all-weather, with three of them over C&D and the latest off this mark in February, and Hollie Doyle is a notable booking.

Cases can be made for a few of these, but HAKU should strip fitter for his recent reappearance at Kempton last month so Mark Loughnane's 5-y-o can add another victory to his tally having dropped back to his last winning mark. The main threat may emerge from Fearless Bay, who bounced back to best when scoring at Southwell 11 days ago and a 7 lb rise shouldn't prevent another bold bid. Diamond Ranger can fill out third.

Having become a standing dish over 1m4f at Wolverhampton, OPTICIAN is preferred to Fearless Bay and Diamond Ranger.

20:00 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 14f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

BLACK SMOKE is the only Wolverhampton winner in the field having scored over C&D in early September. Not disgraced off his new mark when a two-length third back here since, he gets on well with Millie Wonnacott, who takes a useful 5lb off his back. Sophar Sogood stays this trip and further and is one to consider back on the all-weather after disappointing at Chester, although recent course third Advert Rules may be the bigger danger if first-time blinkers bring any improvement.

Having been well backed, SIMIYANN made more impact down in grade when runner-up at Chelmsford last week, so Ian Williams' 4-y-o is fancied to go a place better with the visor reapplied at the expense of Advert Rules, who arrives in form and has a change of headgear on today. Black Smoke can edge out Sophar Sogood for third.

The return to AW is a positive for SOPHAR SOGOOD and he can leave his recent defeat at Chester well behind and come out on top.

20:30 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Tony Carroll won this in 2022 with Pop Dancer and although his 2023 representative was only fifth, he has better chances with UNDER CURFEW, caught close home here over 7f last month and a potential front-runner. Phoenix Beach was beaten a length and a half into second in this 12 months ago and he races off 3lb lower now, making him a danger to all. Spanish Angel and Basholo have won here seven times between them, with six of those over this trip, so have to be considered too.

SANKARI got off the mark for the year with a bit to spare at Southwell 8 days ago, so he's fancied to go in again under a penalty at the expense of Under Curfew, who wasted no time getting back to form when runner-up here last month and has cheekpieces reapplied for a return to sprinting. Phoenix Beach and the slow-starting Spanish Angel can fight out third.

The fitting of cheekpieces and the return to AW has seen a return to form from SANKARI (nap) and he can follow up his Southwell win.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
