1st (4) (5/2 -33%) Intrepide Sud |
5/2(-33%) | (4) Intrepide Sud 5/2, Fair bumper winner who improved on hurdling debut form when third at Exeter (17f) when last seen in April. Should have more to offer this term and reappears in a very winnable maiden. Point/bumper winner; good third over hurdles at Exeter last time; leading player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (11/8 +45%) Norn Iron |
11/8(+45%) | (8) Norn Iron 11/8, Showed a fair bit in Chepstow bumper and 2m Ffos Las novice hurdle towards the end of 2022/23 season for Oliver Sherwood. More to come if all is well, but bred for further and might need this. The betting could guide. Likely player on the form he showed in spring 2023; absent since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (10/1 +38%) Sunninghill |
10/1(+38%) | (9) Sunninghill 10/1, Fair form when making the frame in AW minor events on Flat in 2022 and showed a bit on hurdles debut nearly 2 years on for new yard at Perth (2m) recently, racing rather exuberantly and running out of steam. Could do better. Modest fourth at Perth last month but may build on that effort. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (100/1 -300%) Holeshot |
100/1(-300%) | (3) Holeshot 100/1, Maiden pointer, fell last time (Apr 21). Fair jumps pedigree but plenty of improvement required now going hurdling. 0-5 in the point-to-point scene for this yard, albeit has shown bits of promise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (150/1 -50%) Dreams Fled Away |
150/1(-50%) | (2) Dreams Fled Away 150/1, One-time fair performer on the Flat but little impact for this yard, including in 2 maiden hurdles this summer. Holds very weak claims on his Flat/hurdles form for new stable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (14) (12/1 +0%) Kissininthebackrow |
12/1(+0%) | (14) Kissininthebackrow 12/1, Half-sister to fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser Rhythm Is A Dancer (21f-3m winner). Fair handicapper on the Flat, looking a real stayer. She could have a future in this sphere and one to note. Recent Flat form includes a win and solid effort; half-sister to a jumps winner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (10/1 +0%) Law Of The Sea |
10/1(+0%) | (7) Law Of The Sea 10/1, Fairly useful staying handicapper on the Flat, best run on reappearance in May. From the family of fairly useful jumper (stayed 3m) Lava Lamp, so plenty of hope for him now switching codes. Out of sorts at present but best Flat form is useful; hurdles debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (12) (7/1 +79%) Outer Banks |
7/1(+79%) | (12) Outer Banks 7/1, From the family of fairly useful hurdlers Lisheen Prince (2½m winner) and Jumping Susie (stayed 23f). Made frame both starts in Irish points (latest Apr 27). Some promise in Irish points; bred to need further than 2m under rules. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) (100/1 -300%) Elusive Shine |
100/1(-300%) | (11) Elusive Shine 100/1, £15,000 half-brother to useful hurdler/chaser Palmers Hill (2m-21f winner, by Gold Well). Made frame all 3 starts in Irish points, runner-up on latest (May 18). One to note on hurdles debut. Showed ability in Irish points in the spring; sold for £15,000 since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (1) (200/1 +0%) Amico Amore |
200/1(+0%) | (1) Amico Amore 200/1, Well held in pair of bumpers at the end of 2022 and little impact in pair of AW contests in January back from a year off. Goes hurdling for new yard. Showed poor form (bumpers/Flat) for Lisa Williamson. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (100/1 +0%) Yourawizardharry |
100/1(+0%) | (10) Yourawizardharry 100/1, £6,000 4-y-o, Hillstar gelding. Dam pulled up sole start in points. Market may guide for this newcomer. £6,000 4yo; dam is sibling to four winners; market informative. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (6) (11/1 +31%) Jumper Madrik |
11/1(+31%) | (6) Jumper Madrik 11/1, €80,000 buy for top owner from good French family. Easy to back and probably needed the run on debut in 17f Exeter novice hurdle 10 months ago. Not seen again after and might be brought along gradually. Absent since heavy defeat at Exeter last November on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (13) (150/1 -50%) Timely Escape |
150/1(-50%) | (13) Timely Escape 150/1, Regressive maiden on the Flat and made an unpromising start to his jumps career at Newton Abbot (150/1) 6 weeks ago. Beaten long way switched to hurdles last time. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
INTREPIDE SUD progressed from his first start over the smaller obstacles at Taunton to finish third at Exeter in April and he may have more to offer. Fergal O'Brien's six-year-old looks to have found a suitable opportunity to record his first victory in this sphere. Jafimgoso is a bumper winner who is worth another chance after underperforming on hurdling debut here in June. Of the remainder, Law Of The Sea makes the most appeal.
INTREPIDE SUD took a big step forward when third at Exeter in the spring and should have more to offer, so he might be the way to go returning in a maiden where strong cases can't be made for all that many. Jafimgoso was disappointing on his hurdles debut here in June but is worth another chance for his top yard. Market support for Norn Iron back from a long absence would need noting, while Law of The Sea could have a future in this game.
He was a beaten favourite over C&D last time but JAFIMGOSO is worth another chance. Intrepide Sud and Norn Iron are respected.

1st (2) (7/4 -27%) Emit |
7/4(-27%) | (2) Emit 7/4, Promising individual. 15/2, third of 12 in maiden at the Curragh (8f, good) 36 days ago. The second from the race has won since and this colt is the one to beat with further progress likely. Extra furlong should not be a problem and a big player here with the stable in fine form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (1/1 +43%) Serious Contender |
1/1(+43%) | (7) Serious Contender 1/1, Promising sort. 11/2, fourth of 7 in maiden at Naas (7f, good to firm) on debut 17 days ago. This stiffer test promises to help unlock improvement and he has to be taken seriously. Nice debut in a 7f newcomers maiden at Naas last month; Futurity entrant should go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (12/1 +70%) Eastwatch |
12/1(+70%) | (1) Eastwatch 12/1, Foaled January 28. €27,000 yearling, Make Believe gelding. Dam, 1¼m winner, half-sister to useful 5f/6f winner Jamaican Bolt out of smart 7f-1¼m winner (stayed 1½m) Chiming. Entitled to come on for the run. Bred to stay and might appreciate a bit of give underfoot; best watched though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (25/1 +24%) Wackestone |
25/1(+24%) | (8) Wackestone 25/1, Once-raced gelding. 14/1, seventh of 16 in maiden at Gowran (7f, good) on debut 53 days ago, not knocked about. Moving up in trip won't hurt but he's probably more one for handicaps in due course. Trial winner beaten 9l on debut at Gowran over 7f but can improve from that up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (50/1 -52%) Minella Study |
50/1(-52%) | (5) Minella Study 50/1, Once-raced gelding. Eighth of 10 in maiden at Galway (8.4f, good, 17/2) on debut 26 days ago. Hard to warm to on that back of that low-key introduction. Well beaten on debut at Galway last month; needs to improve hugely to be a factor. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (100/1 -400%) Maarisha |
100/1(-400%) | (9) Maarisha 100/1, Twice-raced filly. Seventh of 16 in claimer at Fairyhouse (7f, good, 100/1) 13 days ago, running on late. Others preferred. Good run at Fairyhouse; much more needed here and could be one for a nursery after this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (18/1 -13%) Medieval Night |
18/1(-13%) | (4) Medieval Night 18/1, Twice-raced gelding. 13/2, sixth of 10 in maiden at Galway (8.4f, good) 26 days ago. Hopes pinned on the addition of blinkers sparking improvement here. Blinkered here and capable of better than his last run but others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (33/1 -230%) Junkyard Dog |
33/1(-230%) | (3) Junkyard Dog 33/1, Foaled March 2. Fastnet Rock gelding. Half-brother to 2-y-o 7f winner Golden Bungle. Dam, ran once in France, out of Moyglare Stud Stakes winner Necklace. Emit appears to be the stable No 1 but market check advised all the same. Nicely bred newcomer and one for the future; stable second string here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (9/1 -64%) Second Guess |
9/1(-64%) | (6) Second Guess 9/1, Foaled May 4. Wootton Bassett colt. Half-brother to several winners, including useful 1¼m winner Grecian Slipper and 9f winner Braemar. Obvious appeal on paper for powerful connections, albeit jockey bookings point to Serious Contender being the yard's first-string. Superb middle-distance pedigree; has no fancy entries and probably best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (80/1 -220%) Ro Ro |
80/1(-220%) | (10) Ro Ro 80/1, Foaled May 5. Churchill filly. Closely related to useful 2-y-o 5.5f/6.5f winner Sonjeu and half-sister to 5f-14.5f winner Born To Be Alive, both in France, and 1½m winner Alcander. Market should point the way. Mixture of speed and stamina in her pedigree; best watched here on debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
EMIT had Medieval Night five lengths behind on debut at Leopardstown and the Joseph O'Brien-trained colt took a step forward on his next start when a creditable third to the long odds-on Acapulco Bay, also over a mile, at the Curragh. The form of that race received a boost when the runner-up Genealogy subsequently went one better at Punchestown. Serious Contender showed promise on debut at Naas and is likely to progress with that experience under his belt, while Aidan O'Brien is also represented by Second Guess, a son of Wootton Bassett and out of a half-sister to Derby winner Workforce.
It could be a case of third time lucky for EMIT, who has shaped well in 1m maidens at Leopardstown and the Curragh, leaving the impression that he will be suited by this slightly stiffer test. The Ballydoyle duo Serious Contender and Second Guess can fill the places, while Emit's stablemate Junkyard Dog needs a second look in the betting.
Preference is for EMIT after showing nice improvement on his second start at the Curragh with this extra furlong likely to be a plus

1st (3) (6/5 +47%) Jumping Susie |
6/5(+47%) | (3) Jumping Susie 6/5, Career best when winning 12-runner handicap hurdle at Kilbeggan (18.9f, good) in July, responding well. Matched that form when third under a penalty at Tramore and wasn't far off that level at Bangor, either, with her rider losing his irons early. Front-runner who has won twice this season; leading claims under a double-penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (11/10 +41%) Step Out |
11/10(+41%) | (2) Step Out 11/10, Runner-up 3 times over hurdles before getting it right at Downpatrick in August (21.8f) keeping on well. More needed under a penalty but he's in good hands. Off the mark at Downpatrick in August and form franked by runner-up; strong claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (12/1 +64%) Kopa Kilana |
12/1(+64%) | (6) Kopa Kilana 12/1, Successful sole start in bumpers but remains winless following 19 attempts in this sphere, albeit runner-up 4 times in handicap company this season. Plenty to find back in a novice. Runner-up three times this season but on long losing sequence and others appeal more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (40/1 -100%) Blow A Fortune |
40/1(-100%) | (7) Blow A Fortune 40/1, First foal, dam, unraced half-sister to smart hurdler/winning chaser (stayed 25f) who became ungenuine Blow By Blow. Faces no easy task against males on debut and may be best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (200/1 -33%) Bilboa River |
200/1(-33%) | (5) Bilboa River 200/1, Merit established as low-grade maiden handicapper so booked for a struggle. Longstanding maiden who was tailed off at Perth ten days ago when back from a long absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (1) (12/1 -33%) Kilmore Rock |
12/1(-33%) | (1) Kilmore Rock 12/1, First foal, dam unraced. Placed on 2 of 4 starts in points and backed at prices, he made a winning hurdles debut at Hexham in June, holding on gamely. Bare form is ordinary so he looks vulnerable here. Made on rules debut at Hexham; this is tougher but he's unexposed and not ruled out. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Not the deepest of contests and it could be another fine opportunity for STEP OUT. Stuart Crawford's charge had been knocking at the door prior to winning at Downpatrick in August so any further improvement can see him go in again. Jumping Susie finished a creditable third at Tramore before occupying the same position at Bangor last month. John McConnell's mare is the main danger in receipt of 2lb, while Hexham scorer Kilmore Rock appeals most of the remainder.
BEL AMIGO's French form marks him out as the pick at these weights so it's worth siding that he will be fit enough on return from 6 months off to get the job done here. Irish-raiders Jumping Susie and Step Out are the obvious alternatives.
The form of STEP OUT's breakthrough win at Downpatrick in August has been franked by the runner-up and he is taken to follow up.

1st (4) (9/2 -50%) Fair Damsel |
9/2(-50%) | (4) Fair Damsel 9/2, Modest maiden on the Flat. Promising individual. Ninth of 14 in handicap at Navan (13f, good, 15/2). Switches from Flat to hurdles and enters calculations. Limited on Flat, promising second over hurdles at Tipperary in May with Spanish Maid third. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (10) (14/1 +58%) Between Friends |
14/1(+58%) | (10) Between Friends 14/1, Once-raced maiden. 50/1, twelfth of 20 in novice hurdle at Galway (16.7f, good to soft) on NH debut 27 days ago. In good hands but needs to jump better than on introduction at Galway last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (6/1 +0%) Love Like This |
6/1(+0%) | (6) Love Like This 6/1, Modest hurdler. 11/1, fifth of 6 in novice hurdle at Downpatrick (21.5f, good to soft) 16 days ago. Back down in trip. Has good chance on pick of form. Twice second at Sligo in August, more recent form does not inspire confidence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (12) (100/1 +0%) Chapter Thirty |
100/1(+0%) | (12) Chapter Thirty 100/1, Twice-raced maiden under NH rules. Eleventh of 15 in novice hurdle at Listowel (16f, soft, 100/1) on hurdles bow 10 days ago. Finished last in a bumper, always in rear in a maiden hurdle at Listowel, can be ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (66/1 +34%) Inch Alainn |
66/1(+34%) | (5) Inch Alainn 66/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Tenth of 13 in novice hurdle (100/1) at Ballinrobe (22.4f, soft) 41 days ago. Back down in trip. Showed little in point-to-points and next to nothing over hurdles so far, decent pedigree. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (11) (100/1 +0%) Breath Of Wind |
100/1(+0%) | (11) Breath Of Wind 100/1, Twice-raced maiden under NH rules. 80/1 and tongue strap on for 1st time, first run since leaving T. Hogan when twelfth of 16 in novice hurdle at Kilbeggan (19f, soft) on hurdles bow 32 days ago. Pulled up in a maiden point, tailed off in a bumper, suffered same fate on hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (80/1 +60%) Snugsborough Jc |
80/1(+60%) | (8) Snugsborough Jc 80/1, Twice-raced maiden. 300/1, refused 2 out in juvenile hurdle at Punchestown (16.5f, good to soft). Off over 2 years. Ran twice in May 2022, unlikely to feature after such a long absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (1) (2/5 +50%) Speculatrix |
2/5(+50%) | (1) Speculatrix 2/5, Debut bumper winner at Punchestown and 11th in listed bumper there in May. Interesting hurdling debutante for top yard. Bumper winner, presumably has had issues but the bar is set low for her hurdling debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
SPECULATRIX concedes a penalty on her hurdling debut, but showed quite useful bumper form last season and contests this winnable maiden. By the same sire as Allaho and a 115,000-euro three-year-old, she won on debut in February and again showed capable ability in finishing sixth in a Grade 2 Aintree bumper. While ultimately well held at the Punchestown Festival, she is proven on soft ground and encouragingly reappears at an early part of the winter season. Modest Flat performer Fair Damsel and Spanish Maid are closely matched on Tipperary form in May but shouldn't trouble the selection, while stablemates Ad Caelum and Love Like This have place claims.
SPECULATRIX has some fairly useful winning bumper form to her name so is taken to go in at the first time of asking over hurdles for her top yard. Fair Damsel and Love Like This appeal as the pick of those with experience and can chase home Gordon Elliott's newcomer in that order.
On the form of her Grade 2 effort at Aintree in April, the Gigginstown-owned SPECULATRIX is in a different league to these rivals.

1st (4) (4/1 -33%) Nowmelad |
4/1(-33%) | (4) Nowmelad 4/1, Lightly-raced maiden under NH rules. Very good second of 10 in novice hurdle at Worcester (16f, good, 7/4) 102 days ago, no match for winner. Likely to be on the premises again. Solid second (form has substance) in both attempts over hurdles; major contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (11/4 +21%) Electric Mason |
11/4(+21%) | (2) Electric Mason 11/4, Point recruit who opened his account in bumpers at Kempton and acquitted himself well in defeat subsequently. Major player switched to hurdling after almost six months off. Came up short in Aintree Grade 2 bumper; may have more to offer back down in class. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (18/1 +55%) The Grafter |
18/1(+55%) | (7) The Grafter 18/1, Modest form over hurdles for Sam Allwood and will likely be suited by further over hurdles, so not an obvious sort on hurdling debut after 8 months off. Showed some ability in bumpers last term for Sam Allwood; tongue-tie now added. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (10/11 +39%) Ace Of Spades |
10/11(+39%) | (1) Ace Of Spades 10/11, Got better with each run over hurdles, signing off last season with a comfortable success at Warwick. Very much the type to make a better hurdler and could take all the beating. Progressive in bumpers; nicely bred and looks a useful hurdles prospect; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (33/1 -32%) Karaktere D'enfer |
33/1(-32%) | (11) Karaktere D'enfer 33/1, Close second of 11 to a useful sort in a newcomers race at Fontainebleau but regressive for this yard. Off 7 months and will need to have been turned around in a major way if he's to get involved. Went close on sole French outing but has regressed sharply in Britain. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (11/1 -10%) Jim De Sarti |
11/1(-10%) | (3) Jim De Sarti 11/1, Improved from debut when winning 7-runner amateurs maiden bumper at Loudeac in April 2023. Underwhelming for Nicky Henderson, including on hurdling debut at Newbury 8 months ago. Sold quite cheaply and has something to prove for new connections. Bumper winner in France and placed in maiden hurdle for Nicky Henderson. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (200/1 -100%) Chester Tonik |
200/1(-100%) | (9) Chester Tonik 200/1, Modest Flat winner who is yet to show anything over hurdles and looks up against it again. Holds very weak claims on his Flat/hurdles form for current yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (200/1 -100%) Thieving Gap |
200/1(-100%) | (8) Thieving Gap 200/1, Little show in bumpers/maiden hurdles to date. Hard to make any sort of case for after 19 months off. Achieved little a couple of winters ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (200/1 -33%) Pooroldmackley |
200/1(-33%) | (5) Pooroldmackley 200/1, Failed to complete both starts in points (pulled up last time, Mar 24) and failed to threaten on Rules debut in a novice hurdle at Ffos Las for Laura Horsfall 4 months ago. Up against it. Well behind Nowmelad on rules debut; makes first start for Evan Williams. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (13) (40/1 -300%) Woodstock City |
40/1(-300%) | (13) Woodstock City 40/1, Fairly useful handicapper on Flat (stays 10.5f), won at Ripon in August, respectable effort last time. Notable if market speaks in his favour on hurdling debut. Record of 3-20 on Flat, the most recent win on penultimate start; could go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (12) (300/1 -200%) Mon Petit Ami |
300/1(-200%) | (12) Mon Petit Ami 300/1, Only seventh of 9 in a bumper at Taunton for Mitchell Hunt 7 months ago and looks more one for the longer term based on pedigree. Beaten long way in Taunton bumper for Mitchell Hunt. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (10) (125/1 -25%) First Cut |
125/1(-25%) | (10) First Cut 125/1, Modest form in minor events/a handicap on the level for William Knight and looks set for a struggle on hurdles debut for new yard. Regressive RPRs on Flat last year for William Knight. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
ACE OF SPADES struck in commanding style in a bumper at Worcester on his most recent start and he is now sent over the smaller obstacles. The son of Dink has improved with each run to date and it would be no surprise to see him make an instant impression over hurdles. Nowmelad has hit the crossbar the last twice and would be foolish to dismiss, while any market support behind Woodstock City should be noted too.
ACE OF SPADES arrives with a solid profile from bumpers and his half-brother Tahmuras took well to hurdling, so he's worth a chance to make a winning start in this sphere. Fellow hurdling newcomer Electric Mason is an obvious danger and Sonification is most appealing of those with experience.
The most interesting prospect in this pack is nicely bred ACE OF SPADES. Second choice is solid contender Nowmelad.

1st (3) (7/2 +13%) Kortez Bay |
7/2(+13%) | (3) Kortez Bay 7/2, Winner at Fairyhouse in June. 8/1, creditable tenth of 17 in handicap at Leopardstown (7f, good) 22 days ago. Up in trip and yard is having good spell but he's opposable all the same. Not much luck in running last time; unproven over this longer trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (5/1 +23%) Fleetfoot |
5/1(+23%) | (1) Fleetfoot 5/1, Twelfth of 14 in handicap at the Curragh (10f, good, 20/1) 21 days ago and this 4-y-o again looks vulnerable. Not discredited on recent belated seasonal return; down in grade, don't rule out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (20/1 -100%) Vasda |
20/1(-100%) | (6) Vasda 20/1, Fifth of 12 in handicap (20/1) at Roscommon (7.4f, soft) 34 days ago. Moves up in trip here and wouldn't be without an each-way chance if her stamina passes the test. French winner could be approaching a competitive mark now; likes it soft. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (12/1 -167%) Simply Sideways |
12/1(-167%) | (5) Simply Sideways 12/1, Latest win at Gowran in May. 9/1, eighth of 9 in handicap at Listowel (8f, good to soft) 12 days ago. Needs to bounce back but she landed this race 12 months ago and will be a danger to all if able to do so. Last year's winner in with a shout if predicted rain arrives. |

5th (2) (8/1 +11%) Titanium |
8/1(+11%) | (2) Titanium 8/1, 18/1, fifteenth of 16 in handicap at Galway (7f, soft) 63 days ago. Back up in trip and tongue strap refitted. This French import certainly isn't one to write off just yet. Well held in two runs at Galway festival; dropped 5lb since and interesting jockey booking. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (14/1 -75%) Complete Fiction |
14/1(-75%) | (7) Complete Fiction 14/1, Latest win at Naas in August. Creditable 3 lengths third of 11 to Casanova in handicap at Listowel (9f, good to soft, 9/1) 13 days ago. Likely to find one or two too good. Naas winner and solid Listowel third to Casanova since when hampered; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (7/2 +30%) Camelot Alexander |
7/2(+30%) | (8) Camelot Alexander 7/2, Winner at Gowran in April. 7/2, bit below form fifth of 9 in handicap at the same course (9.4f, good to soft), not ideally placed. Off 125 days and she's probably worth taking on. Soft-ground Gowran winner in April back from summer break; rain to suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (14/1 -17%) Casanova |
14/1(-17%) | (4) Casanova 14/1, Latest win at Listowel in September. Cheekpieces on for 1st time, last of 12 in handicap at Cork (8f, good to soft, 16/1) 5 days ago. Visor refitted and he needs to bounce back. Listowel winner struggled off this 8lb higher mark at Cork; bit to do. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (7/2 +30%) Passionate |
7/2(+30%) | (9) Passionate 7/2, Winner at Killarney in May. 11/2, respectable sixth of 12 in handicap at Cork (8f, good to soft) 5 days ago. Leading claims off the same mark here with a first-time visor enlisted. Just okay run at Cork on Tuesday; soft ground and first-time visor could bring improvement. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
PASSIONATE relished soft ground when scoring by six lengths at Killarney back in May and should have conditions to suit given the forecast rain. She again shaped well when third at Punchestown last month and is preferred to Simply Sideways, who won this race 12 months ago and again showed her liking for soft ground when gaining a sixth career win at Gowran earlier this year. The lightly-raced Fleetfoot is held in high regard by connections and should benefit from his reappearance at the Curragh last month. Complete Fiction and Camelot Alexander are others to consider.
If PASSIONATE responds well to the new headgear she could be the answer to this tricky-looking handicap. She wasn't at her best at Cork recently but that was still a respectable effort and this filly certainly arrives here in better form than the majority of her rivals. Last year's winner Simply Sideways and French recruit Titanium both need to get back on track but they will be serious threats if able to do so.
The ground could well be soft, which should suit last year's winner SIMPLY SIDEWAYS, who races off just a 2lb higher mark

1st (7) (6/1 +33%) The Navigator |
6/1(+33%) | (7) The Navigator 6/1, C&D winner who struck at Cartmel (17f) in the summer but well beaten there last time. Still on a favourable mark but he'll find easier opportunities. Disappointing in August but this C&D winner may be able to leave that latest effort behind. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (11/4 +58%) Faithfulflyer |
11/4(+58%) | (3) Faithfulflyer 11/4, Has improved this season, winning C&D and Uttoxeter contests and running respectably in a useful handicap at Market Rasen 11 weeks ago. Back down in grade returning from a break and has a pretty good record here. Below best at Market Rasen in July but in career-best form previously; could bounce back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (9/4 +36%) Shared |
9/4(+36%) | (1) Shared 9/4, Good record fresh (improved again to win 2m Chepstow handicap on reappearance last season) and back to form when fourth at Warwick (21f) when last seen in May. Dropped 2 lb for return and one to consider. Patchy form in the spring but now below last winning mark & goes well fresh; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (14/1 -155%) Sea Grey |
14/1(-155%) | (5) Sea Grey 14/1, Fairly useful performer on the Flat, won twice in the summer with both runs since best excused. Before that he'd become disappointing in this sphere following a Catterick maiden hurdle victory. Blinkers tried back up in trip. Has potential off his hurdle mark in view of his Flat ability; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (10/3 +26%) Oceanline |
10/3(+26%) | (2) Oceanline 10/3, Back in good form having tumbled in the weights, taking a couple of Worcester handicaps, although he would have had to settle for second last time had the runner-up not made a howler 2 out. 7 lb rise demands more now. Has won at Worcester the last twice; can also be effective elsewhere; strong claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (9/1 -100%) Famous Liss |
9/1(-100%) | (6) Famous Liss 9/1, Finished alone in an Irish point and progressive form in 2m novice hurdles earlier this season, edged out close home at Hexham latest start in June. Should have more to offer again now handicapping up in trip. Promise in 3m points/2m novice hurdles; the step up in trip could be a plus on h'cap debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Oceanline arrives having notched up a brace of successes at Worcester but, although respected from a 7lb raised mark, it is FAMOUS LISS who shades preference. The unexposed six-year-old was narrowly denied over 2m at Hexham when last seen in June. He goes handicapping from a workable mark and with a step up in trip likely to benefit him, it would come as no surprise were Stuart Coltherd's charge to find the necessary improvement. Shared is another to consider.
SHARED has won first time up for the last 2 seasons and can repeat the feat here. He ran well in a stronger event at Warwick when last seen in May and has untapped potential over this sort of trip. Famous Liss is potentially a big improver now handicapping up in distance and is strongly respected on his return, while Faithfulflyer should go well again here.
Rebecca Menzies' horses are running well and the lightly raced 7yo HARPER VALLEY is selected to make a winning return from a break.

1st (3) (11/2 +21%) Say It So |
11/2(+21%) | (3) Say It So 11/2, Temperamental sort. 1 win from 3 runs this season. 16/5, creditable third of 11 in handicap hurdle at Listowel (16f, soft) 10 days ago. Blinkers on 1st time over jumps. Stable in superb form lately, a shade disappointing at Listowel but well worth considering. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (9/1 +73%) Duke Silver |
9/1(+73%) | (9) Duke Silver 9/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 22/1, eleventh of 13 in handicap hurdle at Wexford (16.9f, good to soft) 37 days ago. Weak maiden form, never involved after an early mistake on his handicap debut at Wexford. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (8/1 -78%) Due Course |
8/1(-78%) | (4) Due Course 8/1, 5/1, seventh of 11 in novice chase at Downpatrick (17.8f, good to soft) on debut over fences 16 days ago, doing too much too soon. Switches from chase to hurdles. Strong claims. Won a Bellewstown handicap hurdle off 8lb lower in August, below best in a chase last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (11/2 +15%) Bayou Belle |
11/2(+15%) | (6) Bayou Belle 11/2, 10/3, creditable third of 11 in handicap hurdle at Downpatrick (17.8f, good to soft) 16 days ago. Not taken lightly. 0-13 over hurdles but appeals as a place prospect following a sequence of promising runs. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (12) (50/1 0%) She's On Line |
50/1(0%) | (12) She's On Line 50/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Eleventh of 15 in handicap hurdle at this course (20.2f, good to soft, 40/1) 43 days ago. Big price when down the field over 2m4f at this venue in August, not an obvious contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (11) (100/1 -400%) Avandra |
100/1(-400%) | (11) Avandra 100/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Fifth of 7 in novice hurdle at Bellewstown (17.2f, good to firm, 200/1) 92 days ago. Makes handicap hurdle debut. Huge price on all three maiden hurdle outings; hard to make a compelling case for her. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (6/1 +8%) Gekkota |
6/1(+8%) | (5) Gekkota 6/1, 16/1, good third of 20 in handicap hurdle at Galway (16.7f, good to soft) 27 days ago. Merits consideration. Gave encouraging display when third of 20 at Galway, could feature if replicating that run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (14) (66/1 -32%) Trenchtown Rock |
66/1(-32%) | (14) Trenchtown Rock 66/1, Twenty three runs since last win in 2019. Eleventh of 16 in handicap hurdle at Bellewstown (17.2f, good, 40/1) 39 days ago. Fair fifth on penultimate run but veteran's long losing sequence looks likely to continue. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (16/1 -60%) Kings Halo |
16/1(-60%) | (7) Kings Halo 16/1, 7/2, last of 10 in handicap chase at Naas (20f, heavy), lame when. Off 7 months. Switches from chase to hurdles. Likely to need the run. Well handicapped relative to last season's progressive chase form, trip may be inadequate. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (13) (33/1 +34%) Gendarme |
33/1(+34%) | (13) Gendarme 33/1, Fourteen runs since last win in 2021. Fourteenth of 15 in handicap hurdle (33/1) at Tramore (21f, good to soft) 51 days ago. No further success since back-to-back victories for Cathal Byrnes in July 2021, no appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (2) (5/1 -82%) Eastmore |
5/1(-82%) | (2) Eastmore 5/1, Tongue strap on for 1st time, second of 8 in handicap hurdle (9/2) at Down Royal (16.9f, good) 37 days ago, finishing well. Should have more to offer and looks the one to beat. Just denied at Down Royal in a first-time tongue-tie, open to further improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (10) (18/1 -50%) Highland King |
18/1(-50%) | (10) Highland King 18/1, Lightly-raced maiden over hurdles. Fair winner at 11f on flat. Cheekpieces on for 1st time in this code, good fifth of 16 in handicap hurdle (20/1) at Bellewstown (17.2f, good) 39 days ago. Beaten 17l in fifth at Bellewstown last time, others have stronger credentials. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (8) (8/1 -23%) Nicholas Street |
8/1(-23%) | (8) Nicholas Street 8/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Good sixth of 15 in handicap hurdle (8/1) at Cork (16.9f, good to soft) 93 days ago, needing lesser test. Open to improvement and worth monitoring in the betting. May need further but possibly capable of improving from his handicap debut at Cork in June. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Most of the form horses won't be suited by likely testing conditions and while GEKKOTA would prefer good ground, he has form on soft and ran well last month. He returned from almost a year off this summer and a reproduction of his Galway effort would give him sound claims. Four-year-old Nicholas Street has been absent since running well on handicap debut in July but has, at least, run on testing ground. Capable chaser Kings Halo is undoubtedly well handicapped in this sphere and while he relishes testing conditions, needs a longer distance and made his seasonal reappearance in this race last year - finishing fifth. Eastmore, Say It So, Due Course and Bayou Belle have been running well, but on summer ground.
EASTMORE tooked a marked step forward when runner-up in a Down Royal handicap last time and, with few miles on the clock, he can find enough improvement to open his account here. Due Course and Bayou Belle are the chief dangers.
Third behind a longer-priced stablemate at Listowel, SAY IT SO can keep up the good work for the in-form Eric McNamara yard

1st (1) (13/2 +28%) Diamond Dealer |
13/2(+28%) | (1) Diamond Dealer 13/2, Point winner but hasn't looked an easy conveyance under Rules, tailed off after a breathing op at Cheltenham in January. Tongue tie added to hood. Drops back in class but hasn't looked straightforward and comes with risk. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (8/1 -14%) Bredon Hill |
8/1(-14%) | (8) Bredon Hill 8/1, Half-brother to 3 winners, including useful hurdle winner/smart chaser Magic Daze and bumper winner/fairly useful 2½m hurdle winner Magic Seven. Modest form in a brace of bumpers during the spring but now goes hurdling with yard in excellent order. Some promise in spring bumpers; nicely bred and looks open to improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (33/1 -65%) Holy Legend |
33/1(-65%) | (4) Holy Legend 33/1, Made little impression in 3 bumper starts but showed a bit tried hurdling in a first-time hood when third of 11 in a 2m course novice in July, keeping on gradually. Longer trip can help but handicaps likely to be more his bag. Absent since modest third in 2m novice hurdle here three months ago. |

4th (10) (50/1 +0%) You Say Its Over |
50/1(+0%) | (10) You Say Its Over 50/1, Still looking for first success but runner-up 4 times last season. They were in low-grade handicap company though so she's vulnerable on return to action. Exposed as a modest mare and faces a difficult task on these terms. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (25/1 -25%) Livy's Lad |
25/1(-25%) | (9) Livy's Lad 25/1, Kayf Tara gelding. Dam useful 2m-2½m hurdle winner. Fourth of 6 sole start in points and tongue tie on for hurdles debut. Modest fourth of six in point bumper five months ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (7/2 -17%) Traveling Soldier |
7/2(-17%) | (7) Traveling Soldier 7/2, €17,500 3-y-o, £40,000 5-y-o, Mahler gelding. Half-brother to 3 winners, including fairly useful hurdler Silk Run, probably stayed 3¼m, and fair hurdler Empty The Tank. Runner-up sole outing in Irish points and showed more than in a bumper when second of 7 at Perth in May. Good second at Perth (hurdles debut) in May and looks open to progress; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (125/1 -279%) Largy Valley |
125/1(-279%) | (6) Largy Valley 125/1, Overcame greenness to make a winning debut in Ayr bumper (2m) for Stuart Crawford in 2022. Well held both starts for this yard and off further 10 months. Bumper winner for previous yard; has regressed in two runs for new stable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (2) (5/2 -33%) Disco Davis |
5/2(-33%) | (2) Disco Davis 5/2, Point winner who built on debut promise 12 weeks on when third of 16 in a bumper at Ludlow in May. Looked set to make a winning hurdles debut until a crashing fall 2 out at Worcester 3 weeks ago and one to beat if over that. Still held every chance when falling two out at Worcester on the switch to hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (15/8 +32%) Je Viens Du Large |
15/8(+32%) | (5) Je Viens Du Large 15/8, €80,000 3-y-o, second foal, brother to French chaser Invincible Power (19f winner). Dam well beaten sole start in French bumpers. Easily off mark in Irish points at third attempt (Apr 13) and this looks a good starting point under Rules. Progressive in Irish points; beat sole other finisher by huge margin the final time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (33/1 -32%) Don't Ask Fitz |
33/1(-32%) | (3) Don't Ask Fitz 33/1, £17,000 3-y-o, £16,000 5-y-o, Ask gelding. Brother to useful hurdler Ask Ben, and half-brother to fair hurdler/chaser Goodgirlteresa, stays 2¾m. Dam placed in point. Placed both starts in points, but latest run was back in February 2022. Rules debutant who returns from very long layoff; market should guide. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (300/1 -50%) Porridge |
300/1(-50%) | (11) Porridge 300/1, Fourth on sole outing in points but has yet to show any ability under Rules. Has achieved nothing over hurdles. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
TRAVELING SOLDIER shaped with plenty of promise to be touched off by a length into second at Perth in May and he would have learned a great deal from that experience. Olly Murphy's six-year-old might only need to find normal improvement in order to go one better. Je Viens Du Large is a point-to-point winner who warrants a market check on his first start under Rules, while Bredon Hill is another to keep an eye on.
JE VIENS DU LARGE was an easy winner of a point in the spring and if he translates that ability to hurdling, he could well be the answer to this. Disco Davis would likely have landed a novice at Worcester had he negotiated the second last and he's an obvious danger, along with Traveling Soldier.
Disco Davis has a good chance granted a clear round this time. TRAVELING SOLDIER is the solid alternative on hurdles form.

No more than an each-way squeak for yard also represented by Nightcliff and Princess Child. Form ties in quite well with some of these on her last two efforts; can get involved. |

Open to improvement for powerful yard (also represented by Military) but a significant step forward will be needed if he's to emerge on top here. Had a few of these in front of him in a Listowel Listed 12 days ago; capable of better. |

Possibilities now that she's faced with a more realistic assignment. Tongue strap back on. A reproduction of her Matron Stakes run could suffice if she wasn't flattered; up 11lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (66/1 -100%) All Lies Ahead |
66/1(-100%) | (6) All Lies Ahead 66/1, Fairly useful mare. Fourteen runs since last win in 2023. 50/1, creditable 2½ lengths fourth of 12 to Raknah in listed race at Galway (7f, good to soft) 66 days ago. Opposable. Good Galway run; more needed but could outrun her likely odds if the rain comes in time. |

10th (5) (22/1 -38%) Military |
22/1(-38%) | (5) Military 22/1, Useful colt. 2¼ lengths sixth of 9 to One Look in listed race at Killarney (8.1f, good to soft, 16/1) 44 days ago. Others make more appeal. Better effort on latest when beaten 2.5l in a 1m Listed at Killarney; needs more here. |

11th (11) (33/1 +18%) Counterculture |
33/1(+18%) | (11) Counterculture 33/1, Lightly-raced winner. 4/5, career best when winning 9-runner maiden at Roscommon (7.5f, heavy) 47 days ago, kept up to work. Faces a stiff task on these terms. Has a mountain to climb on ratings and needs an ocean of rain to level the playing field. |

12th (9) (100/1 -150%) Nightcliff |
100/1(-150%) | (9) Nightcliff 100/1, Fairly useful filly. Sixth of 8 in handicap at Fairyhouse (7f, good, 28/1) 13 days ago. Uphill task. Has run no better than okay on both runs for the stable this season and needs to step up. |

Needs to get back on track. Unexposed and could well be effective at this level; one of the more interesting runners. |

14th (4) (50/1 -150%) Follow Me |
50/1(-150%) | (4) Follow Me 50/1, Useful colt. 2 wins from 4 runs this year. Latest win at the Curragh in May. 20/1, twentieth of 25 in handicap at the Curragh (6f, good) 21 days ago. Back up in trip and he's likely to a find a few too good. The ease in the ground is likely to suit but has to prove he is up to this class. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
POWER UNDER ME has been a great servant to connections and gained a sixth career win on his penultimate start over 7f at Naas. He will appreciate the anticipated cut in the ground and hopefully can bounce back after a disappointing effort in a Group 2 at Leopardstown last time. Chicago Critic appears adaptable in terms of ground conditions and is an obvious threat if reproducing his highly-creditable third to Haatem in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot. Follow Me won twice at the Curragh earlier this year, including on soft ground, but has been soundly beaten on both outings since. There isn't much to choose between Princess Child, Fleur De Chine and Mexicali Rose on running behind Curvature at Listowel last month.
MAMMAS GIRL wasn't beaten at all far in the Matron at Leopardstown and she will have every chance if able to back that effort up now back down in class. The Havana Grey filly earns the vote ahead of Chicago Critic, who found the Lennox too much at Glorious Goodwood but he was on the up prior to that. Power Under Me is also shortlisted, while Princess Child and Vera's Secret both make each-way appeal.
Preference is for MAMMAS GIRL, who has improved for blinkers and will be hard to beat if she can reproduce her run in the Matron

13/2(-18%) | (2) Iorangi De L'isle 13/2, Won completed start in Irish points and shaped with promise in a Catterick bumper/maiden hurdle last season. Weakened tamely at Bangor in May and since had a breathing op. Improvement needed but this point winner has had a wind op and is not written off. |

4th (10) (80/1 -471%) Lyle View |
80/1(-471%) | (10) Lyle View 80/1, £20,000 4-y-o, fourth foal, dam unraced half-sister to useful hurdler/very smart chaser (stayed 23f) Devils Bride. Runner-up completed start in Irish points (Apr 20). Second in a point; has travelled from Wiltshire to make her rules debut and could go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (9/2 +55%) Another High Five |
9/2(+55%) | (8) Another High Five 9/2, £62,000 4-y-o, half-brother to 3 winners, including French 15f hurdle winner Get Me Five and bumper winner Modreeney. Dam, maiden on Flat (stayed 1m), half-sister to ungenuine but fairly useful hurdler/fair chaser (stayed 3m) William Hogarth. Runner-up sole start in Irish points (Apr 28). Runner-up in a point on sole start; could have a big part to play on rules debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (3/1 +70%) The Northernlights |
3/1(+70%) | (5) The Northernlights 3/1, Runner-up in a point bumper and shaped with some encouragement when fifth in a bumper at Cheltenham in October. Showed enough in a brace of hurdles outings to make him of some interest on stable debut (has left Georgina Nicholls). Yet to threaten but new trainer often does well with recruits from other yards. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (125/1 -279%) Reliance Kid |
125/1(-279%) | (3) Reliance Kid 125/1, Reliable Man gelding. Dam (c114/h127), 17f-21f hurdles/chase winner in France, half-sister to French 17f/2¼m hurdles/chase winner Rombaldi. No impact in a Punchestown bumper for Gordon Elliott in April 2023. Runner-up on second of 2 starts in points this year. Went close in Irish point in May; each-way possible on hurdle/stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (150/1 -200%) Gatsby Blue |
150/1(-200%) | (1) Gatsby Blue 150/1, €32,000 3-y-o, second foal: dam (h126) bumper/19f hurdle winner. Pulled up sole start in Irish points (Apr 2023). Pulled up on debut in Irish point in April 2023 and absent since; probably best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (33/1 -136%) Rogue Lion |
33/1(-136%) | (9) Rogue Lion 33/1, Half-brother to useful hurdler Scarlet Dragon (winner around 2m). Fairly useful form on Flat (stays 11f) for Tom Clover, much improved when runner-up in novice event last time. Hurdles debut. Promising 2nd on the Flat in January; a contender if transferring that ability to hurdles. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
YOKKELL has taken well to hurdling since having her attentions switched from the Flat. A winner at Down Royal in August, the daughter of Fast Company went on to fill the runner-up spot at Warwick last month. The booking of Harry Cobden catches the eye and with a hood applied for the first time, she could regain the winning thread. Another High Five hit the crossbar in a point-to-point in April and market support should be noted ahead of his Rules debut. Iorangi De L'isle completes the shortlist.
Ex-Flat performer YOKKELL cemented a solid start to her hurdles career when runner-up at Warwick 12 days ago and she's very much the one to beat. Point-recruits Another High Five and Lyle View may emerge as the chief threats.
The useful Flat performer YOKKELL is taken to make it 2-3 over hurdles and add to her win at Down Royal in August.

Rocky's Diamond |
(3) (9/2 -13%)9/2(-13%) | (3) Rocky's Diamond 9/2, Thrice-raced winner over hurdles. Winner in hurdle at Limerick in April. Good fifth of 8 in minor event hurdle (16/1) at Wexford (24f, good to soft) 130 days ago. Back down in trip. Should progress. Considered. Engaged 3.05 Gowran Saturday. Won on bad ground at Limerick, off since okay run in May, declared on Friday at Gowran. |

1st (1) (2/1 +33%) Al Gasparo |
2/1(+33%) | (1) Al Gasparo 2/1, Fairly useful hurdler. C&D winner in May. 6/4, respectable third of 8 in novice hurdle at Worcester (20f, good) 39 days ago. Not ruled out. Top rated, C&D winner in May, trip too far on latest, handles testing ground, chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (11/4 +0%) Lieber Nicc |
11/4(+0%) | (4) Lieber Nicc 11/4, Lightly-raced sort who posted a career best when winning 14-runner novice hurdle at Wexford (16.7f, good to soft) 73 days ago, responding well. In the mix. Maiden hurdle winner on latest at Wexford, different ground likely, chance if handling it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (9/4 -13%) Chutzpal |
9/4(-13%) | (6) Chutzpal 9/4, Arrives on a four-timer after completing his hat-trick in 13-runner handicap hurdle at Wexford (16.9f, good to soft) 37 days ago. Expected to be bang there. In form, on a hat-trick after wins at Bellewstown and Wexford, testing ground a big worry. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (11/1 +45%) Drumgill |
11/1(+45%) | (2) Drumgill 11/1, Fairly useful hurdler. Respectable eighth of 15 in handicap hurdle (50/1) at Listowel (16f, soft) 9 days ago. Can give a good account. 3-14 over hurdles, out of depth on latest, handles an ease, chance at his best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (15/2 +25%) Master Otis |
15/2(+25%) | (5) Master Otis 15/2, Fairly useful hurdler. Winner in hurdle at Cork in May. Fourteenth of 15 in handicap hurdle at Galway (16f, soft, 12/1) 65 days ago so needs to bounce back. Novice winner at Cork in May, has run well on soft, too bad to be true latest, interesting. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
AL GASPARO is top-weight but is a previous C&D winner and, crucially given likely testing conditions, has form on heavy ground. He routed his rivals in winning here in May and while well held subsequently at Galway, ran well in a winners' race at Worcester last month and won't be too inconvenienced by the ground. Lieber Nicc's best form has been achieved on a sound surface but he was placed on soft last January, while Master Otis disappointed at Galway but had previously shown useful handicap form at Fairyhouse and has also been placed on soft ground. Chutzpal's recent form is on a sound surface.
Henry de Bromhead's CHUTZPAL is on a roll and fancied to secure his four-timer after posting a career best when landing the hat-trick at Wexford. Rocky's Diamond appeals as the one to chase him home ahead of Lieber Nicc and Drumgill.
A punt is taken on MASTER OTIS who won his novice well at Cork on good and his Leopardstown neck second on soft gives him a chance.

L'eau Du Sud |
(1) (5/6 -14%)5/6(-14%) | (1) L'eau Du Sud 5/6, Useful hurdler who progressed well last season, second in the Betfair Hurdle and County Hurdle. Looks a classic one from this yard who will surpass even that level of form now chasing. One to follow. Second in two major handicap hurdles last season; obvious contender on chasing debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (3) (2/1 +56%) Rare Edition |
2/1(+56%) | (3) Rare Edition 2/1, Useful hurdler but last 2 starts have been poor. Switches to fences now (runner-up on second of 2 starts in Irish points). Very useful hurdler with 4-10 strike-rate; likely contender on chasing debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (3/1 +50%) Rambo T |
3/1(+50%) | (2) Rambo T 3/1, Developed into a useful hurdler last season, signing off with a win at Perth in April. However, this trip looks on the short side starting out over fences. Useful handicap hurdler who did well at around 2m4f last season; chase debut today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (1/1 +75%) Uncle Bert |
1/1(+75%) | (4) Uncle Bert 1/1, Developed into a useful hurdler last season, winning 3 times before shaping as if still in form at Aintree final start. Ideally wants further than this but is bred for chasing and any rain is a positive. Took form to level in second half of last season, winning twice over 2m3f; a player. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
All of these make their chasing debuts with the vote going the way of L'EAU DU SUD on the pick of his form over hurdles. This six-year-old ended last season with a commendable fifth in the Scottish Champion Hurdle at Ayr and has every chance on today's terms if taking to the larger obstacles. Rambo T made good strides over timber last term culminating in a convincing win at Perth, while Rare Edition has gone well fresh before and is preferred to Uncle Bert.
All 4 were useful over hurdles but L'EAU DU SUD is likely to have too much pace for these over this trip. Rare Edition is next best.
Four very talented hurdlers make their chasing debuts. RARE EDITION looks the best suited by today's trip-and-ground combination.

1st (3) (11/10 +60%) Gaucher |
11/10(+60%) | (3) Gaucher 11/10, Lightly-raced winner over hurdles. Successful at Punchestown in June. 5/6, creditable second of 5 in novice hurdle at Listowel (16f, soft) 11 days ago. Expected to be bang there. Keen sort needs to improve jumping; may not want it too soft. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (7/4 +78%) Sunchart |
7/4(+78%) | (4) Sunchart 7/4, Lightly-raced winner over hurdles. 11/10, didn't need to improve to win 14-runner novice hurdle at Wexford (16.7f, good to soft) 58 days ago, kept up to work. This is more demanding. Wexford maiden winner has to improve again but likely soft ground will help his cause. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (20/1 +50%) Ah Fuhgeddaboudit |
20/1(+50%) | (5) Ah Fuhgeddaboudit 20/1, Fair hurdler. 1 win from 2 runs this season. 5/1, won 15-runner novice hurdle at Ballinrobe (17.9f, good) 23 days ago, always holding on. Much more on her plate this time. Recent Ballinrobe maiden winner faces much stiffer task; will appreciate a stamina test. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (7/2 +75%) Littlebiggie |
7/2(+75%) | (6) Littlebiggie 7/2, Fairly useful hurdler. Creditable second of 13 in handicap hurdle (4/1) at Killarney (22.4f, good to soft) 43 days ago. Down in trip and she should get her head back in front sooner rather than later. Progressive front-runner but drop in trip not in her favour. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
FEUD boasts an impressive pedigree being a Dubawi half-brother to Fallen Angel and has taken really well to hurdles for Richard O'Brien, winning a Listowel maiden and a Galway Festival novice. The form of that latter success has worked out quite well and he can take a further step up the ladder at the expense of Gaucher. The Frankel gelding doesn't help himself by racing keenly and has had his limitations exposed since winning easily at Punchestown, while stablemate Chart Topper was a wide-margin winner on his hurdles debut at Downpatrick. Sunchart was the pick of these on the Flat, winning a Listed race at Naas this spring, and opened his account at the second attempt over hurdles at Wexford last time.
FEUD has taken extremely well to hurdles and is taken to make it 3-3 in this sphere, with the Willie Mullins-trained duo Chart Topper and Gaucher feared most in that order of preference. Littlebiggie perhaps lacks the potential of some of these but she looks solid nonetheless and should make her presence felt.
The 4yo FEUD can make it 3-3 hurdling if handling likely softer ground. Confirmed mudlark Sunchart could prove the danger

1st (3) (9/1 -80%) Universal Folly |
9/1(-80%) | (3) Universal Folly 9/1, Completed a hat-trick over fences at Hexham last season for Nicky Richards. Well held first 3 starts for this yard until 5 lengths third of 5 in handicap chase at Perth (23.8f, good to soft, 20/1) 27 days ago, though that form is far from solid. Took step back in right direction when 3rd at Perth and continues to edge down the weights. |

15/8(+87%) | (6) Brandy Mcqueen 15/8, Struggled since making a winning chase debut here (23.4) in October. Others preferred. 12lb lower than when winning here last October but tailed off the last twice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (10/1 -25%) Cardamon Hill |
10/1(-25%) | (8) Cardamon Hill 10/1, Perth winner in June but he isn't the easiest to catch right and last 2 efforts have been poor. In good form at Perth earlier this season but down the field the last twice. |

4th (7) (11/2 +45%) Jem In Em |
11/2(+45%) | (7) Jem In Em 11/2, Consistent hurdler but was always behind on chase bow here (21.6f, good) 18 days ago. This distance much more suitable at least. Well beaten here on recent chase debut but retains potential now back up in trip. |

5th (2) (16/1 -146%) Silver In Disguise |
16/1(-146%) | (2) Silver In Disguise 16/1, Capitalised on a reduced mark when scoring (in slightly fortunate fashion) under this rider at Chepstow in April but only third off revised mark at Ffos Las following month. Off since. Won under Edward Vaughan at Chepstow in April and he's one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (14/1 -211%) Captain Quint |
14/1(-211%) | (1) Captain Quint 14/1, Cheekpieces on when regaining the winning thread in a 7-runner Musselburgh handicap (23.6f, soft) in February. However, his jumping went to pot at Newbury next time and below par here since with the headgear discarded. Has left Rose Dobbin. Goes well fresh and could play leading role on first run for Paul Robson. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (4) (5/1 -82%) Do No Wrong |
5/1(-82%) | (4) Do No Wrong 5/1, Scored at Southwell in June and good placed efforts next 3 of 4 starts, third of 10 in handicap chase at this course (21.6f, good, 12/1) 18 days ago. Should go well again back up in trip. 3m winner in June and kept on for 2m5f third here last month; could have a big say. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (11/1 +21%) Scipion |
11/1(+21%) | (5) Scipion 11/1, Out of sorts for a while, including both starts for this yard. His mark continues to tumble but he's been tailed off on both starts this season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (12/1 -100%) Breaking The Ice |
12/1(-100%) | (10) Breaking The Ice 12/1, 3-time winner here in his youth. Not so reliable nowadays but he had excuses in between 2 decent placed efforts at Cartmel and Perth. On the shortlist. Three-time course winner who has been placed on two of his last three starts; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (66/1 -100%) Chameron |
66/1(-100%) | (9) Chameron 66/1, Scored once from 5 starts for Patrick Griffin last term and little impact for new connections. On a reduced mark but this 11yo has struggled on his five starts since last December. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
DO NO WRONG made the frame in this grade over an extended 2m5f here last month and he is only 1lb higher for that performance. Justin Landy's eight-year-old has lots in his favour in his bid to regain the winning thread. Universal Folly was beaten into third in a class 3 event at Perth last time and could go closer now that he takes a drop in class. Breaking The Ice is another to consider.
DO NO WRONG appeals as the most solid option, though Breaking The Ice arrives in good heart, while Captain Quint can go well fresh starting out for a new yard.
The 6yo JEM IN EM should be capable of much better than he showed on last month's chase debut here, especially now back up in trip.

8th (12) (50/1 0%) Oh'herewego |
50/1(0%) | (12) Oh'herewego 50/1, Twenty six runs since last win in 2019. Has struggled in 2 starts back this season, pulled up in handicap hurdle at Roscommon (24.1f, soft, 80/1) 6 days ago. Two runs last month suggest the years have caught up with this four-time winner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (7/1 -27%) Padraigs Boy |
7/1(-27%) | (9) Padraigs Boy 7/1, Shaped as if still in good form when fifth of 23 in handicap hurdle (4/1) at Naas (23.8f, soft) when last seen in April, seeming stretched by the trip under the conditions. Enters calculations on return. Definite promise last season, potentially interesting if fit and ready after a break. |

Won 2m3f at Kilbeggan three starts ago, nothing like that standard on last two runs. |

50/1(-25%) | (11) Littletwinklestar 50/1, In first-time tongue strap, fared no better than previously this season when fifteenth of 16 in handicap hurdle at Tramore (21.4f, good, 40/1) 18 days ago. Others preferred. Off for a year until August and has struggled on her first three outings for this stable. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
A chance is taken that IRON ALLEN might return to form because he could be well suited by conditions. Winner of a soft-ground unplaced horses' maiden at Naas last December, the ex-winning point-to-pointer remains somewhat unexposed over staying distances and although he has top weight, he contests a winnable handicap for new connections, under an experienced 5lb claimer. In theory, Temptationinmilan is well handicapped in this sphere as he is rated 108 over fences, but is a 13-race hurdles maiden. He does have form on testing ground so should compete. Technology ran well on his Irish debut in August, but has been well beaten in three previous UK runs on testing ground.
THE STRIKER DYLAN has shown improved form this season, shaping better than the result when again making the frame at Wexford on his latest outing, so he is taken to get off the mark this time around. He can reverse the Wexford form with Technology, who finished ahead of the selection when runner-up on his stable debut, while Padraigs Boy also merits consideration.
If sustaining the improvement shown at Wexford in August, TECHNOLOGY can score here by upholding form with The Striker Dylan

3rd (5) (9/2 -35%) Bells Of Peterboro |
9/2(-35%) | (5) Bells Of Peterboro 9/2, Dual scorer last season, signing off with another victory at Chepstow (23.6f, good to soft) in April. Has acquitted himself with credit after a break previously so ought to be thereabouts. Well suited by Chepstow where he's had his last four wins, the last two as chaser in 2024. |

4th (3) (5/1 +23%) Jatiluwih |
5/1(+23%) | (3) Jatiluwih 5/1, It's now 15 runs since last win in 2019 and he came in only eighth of 12 in handicap hurdle at Newbury (24.2f, good to soft) when last seen out 6 months ago. Needs to hit the ground running. Second at Newbury this March was off 3lb higher than today, so a case can still be made. |

5th (1) (16/1 0%) We'llhavewan |
16/1(0%) | (1) We'llhavewan 16/1, A useful winning hurdler but not so good over fences for Willie Mullins, only 12th at Ballinrobe in May. Starts out for a new yard with more needed after a break. Left Willie Mullins for £11,000 in late June; his new stable also runs Lihyan. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
LIHYAN has the advantage of a recent outing under his belt. Rebecca Menzies' charge won nicely at Worcester last month and looks to have solid claims once again, despite a 4lb rise. A winner at Market Rasen in August, Hardy Boy was well held when only fourth at Bangor last time and Bells Of Peterboro may prove a bigger threat. The latter scored at over fences at Chepstow in April and returns to action raised only 2lb.
SUPREMELY WEST improved markedly last season, scoring twice, and is taken to start out again in style here. Worcester-victor Lihyan is next on the list ahead of Bells of Peterboro and Hardy Boy.
This race may provide the right opportunity for SUPREMELY WEST to go one better and win his first handicap. Hardy Boy is next best.

12/1(+14%) | (3) Smooth Tom 12/1, Lightly-raced winner over hurdles. Useful winner at 12f on the Flat. Sixteenth of 22 in handicap at Leopardstown (13f, good, 25/1) 22 days ago, left poorly placed. Switches from Flat to hurdles. Lots to find with Daddy Long Legs on Punchestown handicap run in the Spring. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (9/4 -38%) Winter Fog |
9/4(-38%) | (1) Winter Fog 9/4, Smart hurdler. C&D winner. Creditable second of 11 in maiden at Gowran (14f, good to soft, 11/10) 33 days ago, no match for winner. Switches from Flat to hurdles. Paul Townend prefers Daddy Long Legs but he's greatly respected all the same. C&D Grade 3 winner in July; trip and ground-versatile, has to be respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (22/1 -38%) Senecia |
22/1(-38%) | (5) Senecia 22/1, Useful chaser. Latest win in hurdle at Killarney in May. Unseated rider in handicap chase at Listowel (17.7f, good, 7/1) 14 days ago. Switches from chase to hurdles. Opposable. Decent mare handles soft ground but on balance of form looks to have a bit to find. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (9/2 +18%) Mighty Tom |
9/2(+18%) | (4) Mighty Tom 9/2, Useful hurdler. 15/2, creditable second of 10 in handicap hurdle at Killarney (17f, soft) 45 days ago, running on. Entitled to considerable respect. Galway Hurdle fifth has a lot to find now at the weights with Winter Fog. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Paul Townend stays loyal to DADDY LONG LEGS, who won three times as a novice last season, including a handicap at the Punchestown Festival, but has questions to answer after two disappointing runs. He dropped out tamely when a hot favourite over C&D in the Grade 3 won easily by Winter Fog in July, with Senecia well behind in fourth, before losing his chance at the start in the Galway Hurdle. Winter Fog had the patiently-ridden Mighty Tom just under three lengths behind when fourth under a big weight at Ballybrit, while Smooth Tom is an admirable dual-purpose gelding but faces a stiff task at the weights.
Paul Townend keeps the faith with DADDY LONG LEGS and his decision may well be vindicated. Indeed, the 5-y-o will prove hard to beat if returning to the level he showed when landing a big-field handicap at the Punchestown Festival in April. Stablemate Winter Fog was a wide-margin C&D winner during the summer and, having performed with credit on the Flat the last twice, he rates the main danger ahead of Mighty Tom.
Daddy Long Legs has a bit to prove, especially on soft, so stablemate WINTER FOG looks a more solid option

1st (7) (6/1 +40%) Breizh River |
6/1(+40%) | (7) Breizh River 6/1, Has created a good impression sent chasing, landing handicaps at Hexham and Bangor this summer. Lost his unbeaten record over fences but still shaped well when third at Uttoxeter in June. More required, though it remains early days for him in this sphere. 6yo who's taken well to fences on last three starts but is 7lb out of the handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (18/1 -157%) Malystic |
18/1(-157%) | (2) Malystic 18/1, Three-time winner in 2022/23 but failed to make an impact on his first 3 outings last season. However, there were better signs when third at Doncaster on his final 2 starts and he's now dropped below his last winning mark. Not discounted on return. Started last term with a heavy defeat in this but found his form on last two outings. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (3/1 -20%) Tommy's Oscar |
3/1(-20%) | (1) Tommy's Oscar 3/1, Very smart chaser who made a winning return in this race last year. Continued in decent heart over fences during the rest of the campaign, producing a career-best when getting the better of Traprain Law at Ayr in April. Not taken lightly. Needs major respect despite being 5lb higher than when winning this race last year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (10/3 +52%) Guy |
10/3(+52%) | (6) Guy 10/3, Three-time winner last season, returning to form when scoring at Hereford in January. Failed to repeat that effort next time, though bounced back to his best when getting up late over C&D in May. This is tougher but he returns with yard going well. 4-22 as chaser, including wins on two of his last three starts; faces potential improvers. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (7/2 +50%) Fringill Dike |
7/2(+50%) | (3) Fringill Dike 7/2, Quickly made up into a better chaser than hurdler last season, successful on his first 3 starts over fences. Added to his tally at Bangor in May and left behind a lesser over hurdles when a wide-margin winner at Newton Abbot last time. Respected. 5-8 over fences; left with little to beat last time but could still be capable of better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (7/1 +36%) Kansas City Star |
7/1(+36%) | (5) Kansas City Star 7/1, Having left Gordon Elliott, made a winning stable/chase debut at Huntingdon in Janaury and left behind a poor run when successful at Plumpton in March. However, added to his all-or-nothing record over fences when well held at Bangor on latest outing. Two good-ground wins and two heavy defeats on softer, from his four chases for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (12/1 +14%) Mayhem Mya |
12/1(+14%) | (8) Mayhem Mya 12/1, Opened account in this sphere at Exeter in December. Below-par effort next time but has been shaping up well since, travelling better than most when fourth of 11 at Bangor on her latest outing in May. Has something to find from 8 lb out of the weights. There's more for her to prove on good ground and particularly from 8lb out of the handicap. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
FRINGILL DIKE accounted for his nearest rival by a whopping 27 lengths at Newton Abbot in August and he remains in the same grade. If he can run to anywhere near that level again, he could prove very tough to beat. Guy made it two wins from his last three starts when victorious over C&D back in the spring and should mount another bold bid, while Breizh River is another to note.
TRAPRAIN LAW quickly developed into a useful chaser last season, pressing the leader a long way out when runner-up at Ayr in April, and he is taken to make a winning return with more still to offer over fences. He can reverse the form with Tommy's Oscar from when the pair met at Ayr, with Fringill Dike also in the mix.
There's a good chance that FRINGILL DIKE (nap) will catch a few of these cold. Tommy's Oscar's yard has a fine record in the race.

1st (7) (6/1 +33%) Jack Holiday |
6/1(+33%) | (7) Jack Holiday 6/1, Latest win in chase at Wexford in August. Respectable fifth of 9 in handicap chase (4/1) at Tramore (16f, good) 18 days ago. Won at Wexford in August, has C&D form, on a tough mark, testing ground a worry. |

2nd (1) (4/1 +27%) Skippin Court |
4/1(+27%) | (1) Skippin Court 4/1, Twelve runs since last win in 2022. Creditable fourth of 11 in handicap chase (16/1) at Listowel (17.7f, good) 14 days ago. Has to be taken seriously in this weaker event. Best effort for current yard in better race latest, chance off same mark, handles heavy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (8/1 +60%) Time Marches On |
8/1(+60%) | (3) Time Marches On 8/1, 9/1, 13 lengths sixth of 7 to Freddie Robdal in handicap chase at Wexford (16f, good to soft) 74 days ago. Blinkers back on. Won for this rider in May, handles testing ground, chance if jumps better than latest. |

5th (5) (10/3 +58%) Whatsafellatodo |
10/3(+58%) | (5) Whatsafellatodo 10/3, Creditable fourth of 20 in handicap hurdle at Galway (16.7f, good to soft, 7/1) 27 days ago, going with enthusiasm. Switches from hurdles to chase. Respected. Good effort at Ballinrobe three runs ago, shaped well over hurdles latest, can't discount. |

6th (4) (5/1 +0%) Freddie Robdal |
5/1(+0%) | (4) Freddie Robdal 5/1, 4/1, respectable 13½ lengths fifth of 9 to Jack Holiday in handicap chase at Wexford (16f, good to soft) 60 days ago, finishing with running left. Not taken lightly. Won at Wexford off 6lb lower in July, handles testing ground, not discounted for top yard. |

|F| (9) (28/1 +30%) Mc Alpine |
28/1(+30%) | (9) Mc Alpine 28/1, Fourteen runs since last win in 2021. Tenth of 16 in handicap chase at Listowel (19.4f, soft, 22/1) 9 days ago. Blinkers on 1st time. Has work to do. Badly out of form for a long time, blinkers need to have a transformative effect.. |

|PU| (6) (11/2 -57%) Itsalonglongroad |
11/2(-57%) | (6) Itsalonglongroad 11/2, Won 10-runner handicap chase (10/1) at Ballinrobe (17.2f, good to soft) 23 days ago, always holding on from a subsequent winner. Should go well again. Dual-purpose, won last time out off 101, up 7lb, handles all sorts of ground, claims. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
ANOTHER OCANA will have plenty of help from the sky this weekend as he makes his seasonal reappearance on suitably testing ground. A dual point-to-point winner, he seemed better than ever when reverting to a similar distance to this, scoring at Limerick last April, and while his lack of a recent outing is a small concern, he might still defy a 7lb rise. Ten-time winning 10-year-old Itsalonglongroad continues in good form and is ground-versatile, but his mark has climbed back to 108 following his recent Ballinrobe success and he hasn't competed at that rating for over two years. General Clermont has good recent form and has placed on yielding to soft, although he wouldn't like really testing conditions.
SKIPPIN COURT has yet to win over fences but he took a big step back in the right direction after a short break when fourth in a better race than this at Listowel 2 weeks ago so he could be the answer. Last-time-out winners Itsalonglongroad and Another Ocana head the dangers.
TIME MARCHES ON will handle testing ground and if he jumps better than he did last time out, he is capable of going close here.

1st (3) (8/11 +55%) Home Free |
8/11(+55%) | (3) Home Free 8/11, Scored over hurdles in 2m heavy-ground novice at Lingfield in March and made an encouraging start over fences when second of 7 in handicap at Hexham in May. Can progress and good shout in first-time tongue tie. Ran well switched to fences at Hexham five months ago; open to progress; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (11/2 +54%) Cabhfuilfungi |
11/2(+54%) | (5) Cabhfuilfungi 11/2, Fair hurdles winner who made a decent start for this yard when second at Hereford in April. However, disappointed following month and now goes chasing on first outing since. Chase debutant who lacks recent match practice; market may be helpful. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (4/1 +20%) Jeudidee |
4/1(+20%) | (6) Jeudidee 4/1, Bumper/hurdles winner and has shown promise both runs over fences this summer, sixth at Worcester last time when all but falling 3 out. Since had a wind op and not discounted with hood added. Some promise since switched to fences; possibilities if taking well to added hood. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (11/2 +45%) Llandinabo Lad |
11/2(+45%) | (2) Llandinabo Lad 11/2, Useful hurdler but not quite at the same level over fences. Bumped into an improver when runner-up in handicap chase at Ludlow (20f, soft) in November but well beaten at Ascot next time and pulled up back over hurdles since. On a long losing spell but has a fighting chance off this mark dropped in class. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
HOME FREE produced a fluent display of jumping on his chasing bow when finishing a creditable second at Hexham in May. There looks more to come over fences having subsequently undergone a wind operation and he looks the one to side with. Llandinabo Lad is potentially well treated on his previous placed efforts over fences and could make his presence felt, while Quick Sharpener showed progressive form over hurdles back in 2023 and makes his chasing debut having switched yards since.
HOME FREE made a promising start over fences when second at Hexham in May and he's taken to go one better with improvement likely. Jeudidee has endured a luckless start over fences, having little go right at Worcester last month, so may emerge as the biggest threat.
Hexham runner-up HOME FREE (nap) is taken to show progress and go one better. Jeudidee is second choice.

1st (1) (9/2 -64%) Extensio |
9/2(-64%) | (1) Extensio 9/2, Useful Flat winner. Once-raced winner over hurdles. 14/1, won 16-runner handicap at York (16.2f, good to firm) 46 days ago, comfortably. Very much of interest on his handicap debut in this sphere. Recent York Flat winner; only second start over timber, soft ground would be a concern. |

2nd (10) (18/1 -50%) The Niffler |
18/1(-50%) | (10) The Niffler 18/1, C&D winner. Latest win in hurdle here in May. Fell in handicap hurdle at Cork (17f, good to soft, 9/1) 62 days ago. Can give a good account without posing serious threat to principals. Best recent runs have been over C&D but probably has a bit to find. |

3rd (7) (11/2 +8%) Old Bill Barley |
11/2(+8%) | (7) Old Bill Barley 11/2, 11/1, very good 2½ lengths third of 11 to Presenting Lad in handicap hurdle at Kilbeggan (16f, good to soft) 30 days ago, running on late. Key player. Bit unlucky third to Presenting Lad at Kilbeggan; 4lb better off with that rival. |

4th (2) (9/2 +55%) Dark Note |
9/2(+55%) | (2) Dark Note 9/2, Respectable seventh of 15 in handicap hurdle (12/1) at Listowel (16f, soft) 9 days ago. Others make more appeal from a win point of view. Hasn't really progressed this year and remains opposable off this mark. |

5th (8) (15/2 +63%) Clarens |
15/2(+63%) | (8) Clarens 15/2, Below form fifth of 13 in handicap hurdle at Listowel (20.4f, good, 16/1) 127 days ago. Back down in trip and tongue strap on 1st time. Needs a couple of these to falter. Long losing run; declining mark and tongue-tie fitted but remains opposable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (11) (8/1 -100%) Expound |
8/1(-100%) | (11) Expound 8/1, Lightly-raced winner over hurdles. Successful in a Tramore maiden in August. Switches from Flat to hurdles and he's a big player now pitched into a handicap in this sphere. Potentially well treated on handicap debut but rain could be an issue. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (6/1 +25%) Presenting Lad |
6/1(+25%) | (6) Presenting Lad 6/1, Three wins from 8 runs this season. 15/2, good third of 11 in handicap chase at Listowel (17.7f, good) 14 days ago. Switches from chase to hurdles and, clearly in good heart at present, he's entitled to respect. In the form of his life but prospect of soft ground a negative. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (40/1 -186%) Semblance Of Order |
40/1(-186%) | (5) Semblance Of Order 40/1, Twice-raced winner over hurdles. Fairly useful 1m winner on the Flat. Last of 8 in minor event hurdle (14/1) at Downpatrick (17.8f, good) 56 days ago. Opposable on handicap debut in this sphere. 4yo faces stiff enough task entering handicap company. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (12) (3/1 +67%) Vischio |
3/1(+67%) | (12) Vischio 3/1, Creditable fourth of 16 in handicap hurdle at Listowel (18f, good, 11/1) 14 days ago. Each-way claims off the same mark here. Versatile mare; recent Listowel run encouraging and could go well off light weight. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
EXTENSIO won his only hurdle start in a Roscommon maiden last summer and has progressed well since on the Flat, notably winning a valuable handicap last time at the York Ebor meeting. The Pat O'Donnell-trained gelding is now rated 92 on the level and could be on a reasonable mark back over flights. Presenting Lad has been in good form this year and added to two chase wins when successful over hurdles at Kilbeggan last month. The lightly-raced Old Bill Barley was about three lengths back in third, but didn't enjoy much luck in running and may reverse the form. The Niffler won over C&D in May, while Expound and Vischio are two light-weights who also appeal.
The most interesting one is EXTENSIO, who landed a Roscommon maiden on his sole start in this sphere to date last summer and he has won three times on the Flat since, including a valuable handicap at the York Ebor meeting in August. Expound also landed a maiden hurdles on his latest start over timber and he is a much-respected main danger. Belle The Lioness and Old Bill Barley are others to consider.
The prospect of soft ground mitigates against Extensio so bottom-weight VISCHIO gets the vote

|PU| (8) (22/1 +12%) Darkest Day |
22/1(+12%) | (8) Darkest Day 22/1, C&D winner but he arrives out of sorts, twelfth of 14 in handicap hurdle here (18.1f, good) 18 days ago. Others appeal more. Good second at Perth in June but well beaten on his last three outings. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
O'GRADY'S HILL has filled the runner-up berth on all three outings under Rules and an opening mark of 99 looks workable. Harry Derham's mare will appreciate the rise in distance and she is expected be fresh following an 81-day break. Theirshegoes appeared to be finding her feet when opening her account at Uttoxeter in June and although subsequently unseating her rider at that same venue, it shouldn't prevent a prominent showing. Market support for stable debutant Iwa on this return to hurdling would be interesting.
Lots with chances. O'GRADY'S HILL is fancied to build on previous promise now stepping into handicap company for the first time and gain a first win under Rules. The consistent Malangen could emerge as the main danger to Harry Derham's mare, with the handily-weighted Rickety Gate and in-form maiden Nastasiya also in the picture.
This can go to THEIRSHEGOES, who won at Uttoxeter in June on her last completed start. O'Grady's Hill is second choice.

|F| (4) (11/1 -10%) Malinas Glory |
11/1(-10%) | (4) Malinas Glory 11/1, Fair hurdler. 11/2, pulled up in handicap chase at Tramore (15.5f, good to soft) 128 days ago, tailing off long way out. Significantly up in trip and has a bit to prove at present. Point-to-point winner, good run at Limerick in April, trip and ground should suit, chance. |

|F| (3) (50/1 +0%) Keeffelee |
50/1(+0%) | (3) Keeffelee 50/1, Poor hurdler. Good seventh of 15 in handicap hurdle (33/1) at this course (22.8f, good to soft), needing lesser test. Off 12 months. Makes chase debut. Chasing debutant, well beaten in last three handicap hurdles, needs more to win this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (10/3 -48%) Fremantle Doctor |
10/3(-48%) | (2) Fremantle Doctor 10/3, Promising sort. Good fifth of 16 in handicap hurdle at Bellewstown (20.5f, good, 25/1) 39 days ago, finishing with running left. Switches from hurdles to chase and he gave a very good account of himself previous run over larger obstacles. Promise on chasing debut, step up in trip could suit, not without a chance in this company. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (11/1 +45%) Pearlofflorida |
11/1(+45%) | (10) Pearlofflorida 11/1, Modest hurdler. 17/2, below form tenth of 16 in handicap hurdle at Roscommon (20.3f, soft) 6 days ago. Switches from hurdles to chase and cheekpieces on for 1st time. Fell and pulled up in first two chases, cheekpieces on after 41l defeat latest, unlikely. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
THE GREAT UNKNOWN can make a winning start to her chasing career. A close-up third on her sole point-to-point run, the Henry de Bromhead-trained mare showed up well in some decent maiden hurdles over the winter. Although failing to get competitive when sent off favourite on her recent handicap debut at Tramore, the five-year-old was entitled to need that first outing since April. Pictures Of Home, who has plenty of experience over fences, has to be of interest in first-time blinkers. The Ted Walsh-trained gelding is a strong stayer who will see out every yard of this trip. Roscommon second Fremantle Doctor is entitled to come on from that initial run over fences. The winner of that aforementioned race franked the form with two subsequent victories.
The return to fences will surely see FREMANTLE DOCTOR in a better light and on his Roscommon run, he'll take some stopping in this. The Great Unknown's hurdles form is ordinary but he's sure to know his job now chasing so he could be the chief threat.
Rain won't be an issue for MALINAS GLORY. He likes testing ground, he has gone well fresh before and he has experience over fences.

1st (11) (10/1 +9%) Ballyrashane |
10/1(+9%) | (11) Ballyrashane 10/1, Left his chase debut form behind when successful at Fakenham (29.1f) in March. Good efforts next 2 starts but below form both outings this season, bad mistake 3 out when mid-field at Perth (23.8f, good) in August. Needs to get back on track. Made all in four-runner race at Fakenham (3m5f, good) in March; below form last two starts. |

2nd (9) (11/2 +27%) Wonder Of The Seas |
11/2(+27%) | (9) Wonder Of The Seas 11/2, Well held over hurdles but he has plenty of size and offered encouragement switched to fences when runner-up in handicaps at Southwell and Leicester early this year. Pulled up when last seen in March, but yard in good form ahead of his return. Ran well on first two starts over fences but flopped on latest, all in the mud. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (12/1 -20%) Ballynaheer |
12/1(-20%) | (1) Ballynaheer 12/1, Runner-up completed outing in points and, with tongue strap added, off the mark over hurdles in handicap at Huntingdon (20.7f, soft) in April. Not discredited back at the same course next time, so he's one to note having had a wind op ahead of chase debut. Last season was his first under rules, best efforts last twice; chase debut after wind op. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (11/4 +31%) Get With It |
11/4(+31%) | (3) Get With It 11/4, Fair chaser at best for Rose Dobbin and has made a promising start for current yard this season, in first-time cheekpieces when third at Warwick (20f, good) 12 days ago. Major player returned to this longer distance. Minor honours over fences on all three runs for new stable this July/September. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (16/1 +20%) Pawpaw |
16/1(+20%) | (7) Pawpaw 16/1, Having dropped to a career-low mark, ran one of season's better races when third at Worcester (23f, good) in September. However, failed to repeat that effort when pulled up at Warwick 12 days ago, struggling badly over circuit out. Third at Worcester (2m7f) on penultimate start but he's been inconsistent. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (16/1 -14%) Prime Pretender |
16/1(-14%) | (6) Prime Pretender 16/1, Maiden under Rules but runner-up 4 times in handicap chases off higher marks in 2022/23 season and has won 3 points since then. Possibly needed the run after 3 months off at Fontwell in August, so he's not discounted. 3-5 in points in 2023 and 2024 but his return to racing under rules saw him well beaten. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (12) (12/1 -20%) Northern Reel |
12/1(-20%) | (12) Northern Reel 12/1, Irish point winner but little form in bumpers/over hurdles, faring no better on stable debut (had a wind op and in tongue strap) when well held in handicap at Fontwell last month. Needs to leave previous efforts under Rules behind as he goes chasing. Switches to chasing with first-time cheekpieces but no solid form claims under rules. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (10/1 -11%) Prince Cleni |
10/1(-11%) | (8) Prince Cleni 10/1, Little form over hurdles but off the mark in handicap chase at Southwell (24.3f) last summer. Struggled for form subsequently but back on track on his last 3 starts, scoring again at Southwell before fourth at Newton Abbot (25.8f, good) last time. In the mix. Major each-way player if he can sustain the solid sequence of last three starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (28/1 -12%) Jukebox D'eddy |
28/1(-12%) | (10) Jukebox D'eddy 28/1, Modest maiden hurdler and hasn't offered much in 2 starts over fences, ninth of 13 in handicap at Worcester (20f, good) 3 months ago. Others preferred with tongue strap now reached for. His two attempts over fences have not been so proficient; tongue-tie is added today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (5) (5/1 -11%) Unwanted Attention |
5/1(-11%) | (5) Unwanted Attention 5/1, Opened his chase account at Market Rasen (21.4f) in June and ran at least as well when placed on his next 2 starts, leading until the last when third at Stratford (22.6f, good) in July. Poor run last time but no surprise to see him bounce back. Won at Market Rasen this June; jumping errors have intervened on last two outings, however. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (4) (12/1 -140%) Getthepot |
12/1(-140%) | (4) Getthepot 12/1, Having dropped a long way in the weights, took advantage under a change of tactics when making most at Worcester (23f, good) last month with Get With It finishing second. Remains well treated on old form, but his task is now to back up his latest effort. Surged back to some form when scoring from Get With It at Worcester (2m7f, good) last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (16/1 +0%) Jolie Baie |
16/1(+0%) | (2) Jolie Baie 16/1, Wide-margin winner over hurdles at Worcester last summer and, after 9 months off, she followed up in a Ffos Las handicap (23.9f, good) in May. However, wasn't going well from 5 out at Worcester last time. Off 3 months ahead of chase debut. Ran poorly in July in hat-trick bid; needs to resume improvement on this switch to chasing. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
GETTHEPOT defeated Get With It (second) at Worcester last month and while that reopposing rival was unable to go one better at Warwick next time, the former could confirm his superiority despite a 5lb raised mark. Prince Cleni weakened late on over 3m2f at Newton Abbot, but he could pose a greater threat now dropped in trip. Chasing debutant Jolie Baie is another to note.
GET WITH IT has been shaping up well since joining Dan Skelton, making the frame all 3 starts including when third at Warwick 12 days ago, so he could be ready to return to winning ways back up in trip. Unwanted Attention had been going the right way prior to last time so is worth another chance, with School For Scandal completing the shortlist.
Getthepot and Get With It should figure prominently but PRINCE CLENI who has come to himself again on his last three outings.

2nd (1) (22/1 -38%) Gaelic Arc |
22/1(-38%) | (1) Gaelic Arc 22/1, Useful chaser. Latest win in chase at Killarney in July. 11/1, 18¾ lengths fourth of 6 to San Salvador in Gr 3 chase at Roscommon (16.7f, soft) 6 days ago. Back up in trip and he's likely to find one or two too good once again. Front-runner likely vulnerable conceding weight on likely soft ground. |

3rd (5) (14/1 -133%) Music Of Tara |
14/1(-133%) | (5) Music Of Tara 14/1, Fairly useful chaser. C&D winner. Latest win in chase here in April. 7/4, fourth of 5 in novice chase at Killarney (23f, good to soft) 147 days ago. Yard saddles a more intriguing candidate in Gorgeous Tom. Impressive C&D winner in April before Killarney flop; back from break with point to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (100/1 -100%) Iriskana |
100/1(-100%) | (4) Iriskana 100/1, Fair hurdler. Fair winner at 20f over hurdles. Sixth of 7 in novice chase (12/1) at Tramore (22.8f, good) on debut over fences 18 days ago. Looks up against it. Better for recent comeback run but hard to see her making a major impact in this grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (2) (5/4 +50%) Gorgeous Tom |
5/4(+50%) | (2) Gorgeous Tom 5/4, Promising sort. Useful winner at 19f over hurdles. Career best when winning 6-runner novice chase (4/5) at Wexford (19.4f, good to soft) on debut over fences 37 days ago, driven out. Open to progress in this sphere. Quite impressive chase debut win at Wexford; nice prospect and could play a major role. |

|PU| (3) (16/5 -42%) A Penny A Hundred |
16/5(-42%) | (3) A Penny A Hundred 16/5, Fairly useful chaser. Didn't need to be at best when winning 8-runner novice chase at Ballinrobe (23.4f, good to soft, 5/6) 23 days ago, well on top finish. Top yard has won the last 2 runnings of this and 6 times overall since 2014. Strong chance. Jumped well at Ballinrobe; doesn't lack stamina and handles soft; contender. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
SHECOULDBEANYTHING won five times over hurdles and has taken well to fences, following up a Galway second to Jesse Evans by easily scoring over 2m3f at Listowel last month. A Penny A Hundred has a similar profile over fences having made all for an easy win at Ballinrobe and won't lack for stamina, while Gorgeous Tom made a successful start over the larger obstacles when beating Monbeg Park at Wexford and is preferred to stablemate Music Of Tara. Gaelic Arc likes to force the pace and would have a big chance if recapturing the form of his handicap triumph at Killarney in July.
SHECOULDBEANYTHING is a useful performer over hurdles and looks set to make her mark in this sphere, too, having built on her encouraging chase debut when cosily seeing off four rivals in a mares' novice at Listowel. She is taken to follow up here, perhaps at the chief expense of Gorgeous Tom, who made the perfect start over fences at Wexford and he should have more to offer. A Penny A Hundred is third choice ahead of Gorgeous Tom's stablemate Music of Tara.
The highest-rated hurdler, SHECOULDBEANYTHING (nap) has taken well to chasing and with conditions to suit looks the one to beat

10/3(-21%) | (4) Double Powerful 10/3, Lightly raced 5yo who hit a steep upward curve towards the end of last season, signing off with two ready successes. Returns with his yard in excellent form, so worth a chance to complete the hat-trick. Up another 10lb but he looked capable of better when winning his last two starts last term. |

2nd (5) (25/1 +0%) Starlyte |
25/1(+0%) | (5) Starlyte 25/1, On a losing run and has pulled up on her last 3 starts. Bounce back needed. 2-24 over hurdles, both wins in 2022; second in June but pulled up all three starts since. |

4/1(-14%) | (3) Summergrounds 4/1, Winner in hurdle at Market Rasen in May. Has posted a couple of creditable efforts since and is likely to be on the premises again. Won in May and creditable places both starts since; considered. |

4th (2) (9/1 -125%) Dalileo |
9/1(-125%) | (2) Dalileo 9/1, Added to an excellent course record when second of 10 in handicap hurdle at Perth (20.2f, soft) 11 days ago, travelling with purpose. His chance doesn't look to be too far away. Running creditably at Perth this summer; respectable 4th of six in division of this 2023. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (22/1 -120%) Bathgate |
22/1(-120%) | (6) Bathgate 22/1, Offered little in bumpers but more promising signs when reaching the frame in a couple of maiden hurdles for Tom Weston this spring. Probably needed the run on both outings for this yard and he's still unexposed. Down the field for yard in handicaps at Cartmel (2m1f; 33-1) and Stratford (2m2f; 22-1). |

6th (9) (10/1 -43%) Iolani |
10/1(-43%) | (9) Iolani 10/1, Veteran who scored at Cartmel in May and arrives on the back of a couple of respectable efforts. Others look better treated, though. Veteran; second here on penultimate outing shows he must still be considered. |

7th (8) (5/1 +50%) Pooch |
5/1(+50%) | (8) Pooch 5/1, First run since leaving Harriet Dickin when respectable ninth of 16 in handicap hurdle (14/1) at Stratford (22f, good) 40 days ago. May do better for this yard and can't be dismissed. Second run for this yard and after wind surgery; none of his form matches up to this mark. |

|PU| (7) (7/2 +83%) Captain Marco |
7/2(+83%) | (7) Captain Marco 7/2, Has merely hinted at ability thus far, down the field when last seen at Exeter five months ago for Mitchell Hunt. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (14/1 -40%) Looking Splendid |
14/1(-40%) | (1) Looking Splendid 14/1, Didn't show much in bumpers but there have been signs of ability over hurdles and he could do better switched to handicaps after 5 months off. No better than fifth after three bumpers and three runs at about this trip over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (22/1 -120%) Local Drama |
22/1(-120%) | (10) Local Drama 22/1, Runner-up on the second of his 2 starts so, while he's showed next to nothing under Rules, he's worth a market check on handicap debut after 8 months off. Nothing solid to recommend him but very early days and he needs a check on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (150/1 -127%) Ivynator |
150/1(-127%) | (11) Ivynator 150/1, One-time fairly useful Flat performer but yet to get anywhere near that form over hurdles. Hard to make any sort of case for. Fair AW Flat winner but that was nearly four years ago; out of form this year. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Double Powerful scored with something up his sleeve when completing a brace at Market Rasen in March. A 10lb hike in the ratings shouldn't prevent another bold bid from the five-year-old but, at the forecast prices, it could be worth taking a punt on CAPTAIN MARCO. Tim Vaughan's new recruit makes the long journey north and he looks just the type to benefit from a summer on his back. Summergrounds and Dalileo are also noted.
DOUBLE POWERFUL was improving fast when last seen and he comes back from 6 months off for an in-form stable, so he's preferred to Dalileo, who ran with credit at Perth recently. Summergrounds is also likely to give a good account.
The most likely winner on 2024 evidence appears to be DOUBLE POWERFUL and the most likely to chase him home is Summergrounds.

A winner on heavy at Limerick over this trip off 94, come on for last run, not discounted. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Given the excellent form of the Eric McNamara stable, MY FRIEND THE WIND has to hold strong claims. Twice a winner over hurdles, the nine-year-old looks nicely treated off a chase mark which is 13lb lower. Although yet to get his head in front over fences, the gelding has been placed on two occasions. Following a promising fifth in a handicap chase at Ballinrobe last month, he should be spot-on for this assignment. The locally-trained Definiteadare can readily be forgiven a below-par run at Tramore as he was running from 14lb out of the handicap. Back in his own grade, with Michael O'Sullivan remaining loyal, Charles Coakley's gelding has to be respected. Da Big Fella, owned and trained by the race sponsor, is sure to have been laid out for this particular meeting.
DEFINITEADARE has dipped in the weights and could be worth chancing back at the scene of his last success under Michael O'Sullivan. Man of The House and A Nod To Getaway are a couple of others to consider.
DONNRUA DREAM gets the nod. He ran well here for his former yard, handles bad ground and can go close if fit after a break.

8th (16) (100/1 +0%) Gladys Eva Jane |
100/1(+0%) | (16) Gladys Eva Jane 100/1, Unreliable type who came in ninth of 14 in handicap hurdle at Stratford (16.3f, good) 40 days ago. Hard to make a case for. Showed some ability in bumpers but yet to be placed after seven hurdling starts; 5lb wrong. |

|PU| (15) (10/3 +58%) Bushmill Boy |
10/3(+58%) | (15) Bushmill Boy 10/3, Still a maiden but he posted a respectable third of 13 in handicap hurdle at Fontwell (21.8f, good to firm) 37 days ago. Cheekpieces back on and no forlorn hope. 0-23 over hurdles but placed on both stable starts; back in trip with cheekpieces refitted. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
PROLIFIC PROFILE returned from an absence to win at Bangor last month and with the prospect of more to come, a 6lb rise might not be enough to stop him. Twp Stori has been given a break since occupying the runner-up berth over a mile further here but still has to enter the equation. George Mallory is a C&D winner so can't be dismissed lightly, and Bushmill Boy should be in the mix too.
NED CASH ended last term below par but starts life for his in-form new yard on a lenient mark so is worth siding with in a very open handicap. Newton Abbot scorer Daany is next on the list ahead of in-form duo Colonel Lesley and Prolific Profile.
It's worth chancing EMBOLDEN, who was placed under James Bowen off 6lb higher in this race last year and has won when fresh before.

1st (7) (22/1 -10%) Hillhead Runner |
22/1(-10%) | (7) Hillhead Runner 22/1, Twice-raced maiden. Ninth of 13 in bumper (50/1) at Wexford (16f, good to soft) 60 days ago. Big step forward needed. Not beaten that far in a mares bumper at Wexford in August; much more needed though. |

2nd (14) (9/4 +72%) Shadows Of My Mind |
9/4(+72%) | (14) Shadows Of My Mind 9/4, €62,000 3-y-o, Jukebox Jury filly. Half-sister to 2¼m bumper winner/fair hurdler Shelikesthelights. Yard boasts a healthy strike rate in bumpers and she's one to note in the betting. From a good family and potentially a nice newcomer but likely to improve for this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (80/1 +47%) Absolute Bliss |
80/1(+47%) | (2) Absolute Bliss 80/1, Twice-raced maiden. Seventh of 8 in bumper at Bellewstown (17.2f, good to firm, 100/1) 92 days ago. Readily passed over. Has only beaten one horse in two bumper starts and very much up against it here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (10) (3/1 +85%) Liss Eile |
3/1(+85%) | (10) Liss Eile 3/1, Once-raced maiden. Third of 8 in bumper at Ballinrobe (16.2f, good to soft, 11/1) on NH debut 23 days ago. Will need to better that if she's to play a leading role in this contest. Likely to improve here but this looks a stronger contest and she will need to find plenty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (16/1 +20%) Graigstar |
16/1(+20%) | (6) Graigstar 16/1, Hillstar filly. Closely related to useful hurdler/chase winner Bold Plan and useful hurdler/chaser I A Connect. Dam poor maiden hurdler. Yard also saddles Hillhead Runner. Hillstar filly with a very good jumping pedigree; market could be a good guide. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (11) (9/1 -29%) Montana Blue |
9/1(-29%) | (11) Montana Blue 9/1, Once-raced maiden. Hooded, second of 13 in bumper (40/1) at Wexford (16f, good to soft) on NH debut 60 days ago, running on. Live each-way chance. Likely to improve for her Wexford run and should not be far away here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (7/2 +65%) Kilda Kelle |
7/2(+65%) | (8) Kilda Kelle 7/2, €100,000 3-y-o, Doctor Dino filly. Half-sister to 4 winners, including multiple bumper winner/hurdler/chaser in France El Martel. Dam unraced. Plenty to like on paper and she needs a second look in the betting, for all that her yard is just 1-17 in bumpers in recent years. Cost 100,000euros as a 3yo and one of the more interesting newcomers. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (8/1 +20%) Cool Summer |
8/1(+20%) | (4) Cool Summer 8/1, Twice-raced maiden. 6/1, seventh of 13 in bumper at Wexford (16f, good to soft) 60 days ago, not knocked about. Place possibilities. Eye-catching fourth in a bumper here in July; can go well if she can find improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (14/1 +44%) Dollymount |
14/1(+44%) | (5) Dollymount 14/1, €40,000 3-y-o, Vadamos filly. Half-sister to bumper winner Metkayina. Dam bumper/2½m-2¾m hurdle winner. Worth a second look in the betting. Stoutly-bred newcomer and likely to improve for time and distance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (13) (28/1 -12%) Queen Of Chenab |
28/1(-12%) | (13) Queen Of Chenab 28/1, €1,500 3-y-o, Elusive Pimpernel filly. Half-sister to fairly useful hurdler Our Surprise and fair hurdler Jamessaintpatrick, stayed 3¼m. Limited appeal on paper. Stable has sustained good form for most of the year but this one probably best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (1) (125/1 +38%) A Quaint Gal |
125/1(+38%) | (1) A Quaint Gal 125/1, Once-raced maiden. Fourteenth of 15 in bumper at Galway (16.7f, good to soft, 150/1) on NH debut 27 days ago. Best to look elsewhere. Beaten a long way in a bumper at Galway last month and hard to make a case for. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
AL ARRIVEE gets the vote to make a winning debut for the champion trainer. The daughter of Tunis is a half-sister to one of the Closutton maestro's biggest achievers in dual Gold Cup winner Al Boum Photo. Kilda Kelle cost 100,000 euros at Goffs last year and is related to a number of French bumper winners, while Shadows Of My Mind is another newcomer to note being out of a winning sister to smart jumper Midnight Shadow. Tangara Bay beat all bar the odds-on Seo Linn on debut at Ballinrobe, while Montana Blue had a couple of these rivals behind when also filling the runner-up spot on her only outing at Wexford this summer.
The vote goes to newcomer SHADOWS OF MY MIND, who represents a yard with a 22% strike rate in Irish bumpers in recent years and this filly, who fetched €62,000 last year, is a half-sister to bumper/hurdles winner Shelikesthelights. Al Arrivee is another likely-looking debutante for whom market support would be an ominous sign for the others, and she is feared most ahead of Tangara Bay, who is the most appealing of those with experience on the back of her promising debut second at Ballinrobe.
The one to be on could be TANGARA BAY, who ran into a potentially nice filly at Ballinrobe on debut and could well improve enough
Ths is the racecard key.
