1st (7) (9/1 +10%) Dandy's Angel |
9/1(+10%) | (7) Dandy's Angel 9/1, Fifteen runs since last win in 2023. 5/1, creditable fourth of 11 in handicap at Beverley (1¼m, good to soft) on Tuesday. Has won on heavy; not so good in a busy 2024 but she's shown enough to have a major shout. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (3/1 -33%) Susiesparkle |
3/1(-33%) | (4) Susiesparkle 3/1, In good form for new trainer Iain Jardine last week, winning at Thirsk before narrowly denied at Hamilton on Sunday (both 1½m, good). Is 5 lb higher here but still much respected. So nearly made it 2-2 for new yard last week, both runs on good to soft; penalty this time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (12/1 -85%) Kehlani |
12/1(-85%) | (3) Kehlani 12/1, 10/3, creditable fifth of 9 in handicap at Southwell (11f) 23 days ago, getting first run. First-time blinkers replace cheekpieces. 0-10 in handicaps; first blinkers (cheekpieces off); unraced on worse than good to soft. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (10/1 -233%) Laudable |
10/1(-233%) | (5) Laudable 10/1, Completed a hat-trick in August/September and ran well again when second at Musselburgh (12.5f, good to firm) 12 days ago. Effectively running off 2 lb lower here so has to enter the reckoning again. Three wins this summer, including 1m4f on soft; ran well under a penalty 12 days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (2/1 +75%) Bushfire |
2/1(+75%) | (2) Bushfire 2/1, C&D winner. Twelve runs since last win in 2023. Placed in July/August and shaped as if still in form when fourth of 11 at Chester last time, no extra only late on. Two places before a lesser show at Chester six days ago, but he acts on heavy going. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (3/1 +33%) Kamanika |
3/1(+33%) | (1) Kamanika 3/1, Won 3 times on soft/heavy in 2023. Should be sport on for this after a pair of comeback runs in recent weeks (went for home too soon and better than result last time) and the return to testing ground is very much in her favour. Four 1m2f wins (three on soft) in 2023; off until August and uncompetitive both starts. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
SUSIESPARKLE made a flying start for Iain Jardine and so nearly followed up that Thirsk triumph when touched off at Hamilton last weekend. Even under her penalty, she is 1lb well-in compared to her revised rating and can take full advantage. Laudable's winning spree came to an end at Musselburgh, but he lost absolutely nothing in defeat and remains dangerous. Sonnet Star chased home an ultra-progressive rival at Ffos Las, while conditions are in Bushfire's favour.
Back on testing ground a chance is taken on KAMANIKA who is fresh for this stage of the season and ran a lot better than her tenth place at Goodwood last time might suggest. Thriving pair Laudable and Susiesparkle may give Joseph Parr's charge most to think about.
A soft-ground win for LAUDABLE two starts back gives plenty of encouragement and he also ran well in defeat last time.

1st (2) (6/4 +55%) Sirona |
6/4(+55%) | (2) Sirona 6/4, Useful 7f scorer for Charlie Johnston in 2023 and compiling a solid record for her new yard, edged out only late on when second of 8 in listed company at Longchamp (1m) 26 days ago. Holds good claims on these terms and her stable continue in good order. Largely encouraging form this season for new stable; leading contender on the figures. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (5/2 +58%) Fair Point |
5/2(+58%) | (5) Fair Point 5/2, Progressive filly who was seen to good effect but well on top at the line in any case when winning 6-runner handicap at Ascot (8f, good to soft, 7/4) 20 days ago. Remains one to be positive about now her sights are set higher. Made all in fillies' handicap at Ascot last time; steadily improving filly; possibilities. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (4/1 -20%) Spiritual |
4/1(-20%) | (3) Spiritual 4/1, Made breakthrough at listed level under a fine ride at Sandown (1m) and dispelled a lesser run in France when fourth from the front in Group 3 Atalanta Stakes (1m) 4 weeks ago. Likely she can figure and further easing of the ground would play to her strengths. Made all for Listed win at Sandown in July; possibilities granted an uncontested lead. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (10/1 -100%) Rolica |
10/1(-100%) | (7) Rolica 10/1, landed a 7f maiden here on return and excellent effort fast-tracked to Group 1 when sixth in 1000 Guineas. Not had race run to suit either start since, latterly when fifth in Atalanta Stakes at Sandown (1m) 4 weeks ago. Good gallop to aim at will help here. Showed progress at this course in the spring, notably good sixth in the 1,000 Guineas. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (8/1 +33%) Arisaig |
8/1(+33%) | (4) Arisaig 8/1, Did well after conceding first run to land 12-runner handicap at Goodwood (1m) in July. Excuses in big field handicaps at York/Leopardstown since and whilst she's a bit to find at this level, it would come as no great surprise to see her thereabouts. Fairly useful handicapper; won at Glorious Goodwood; stiffer task upped in class. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
Punters will need to be in a forgiving mood to side with SPIRITUAL, but it may pay to do so. She was too keen for her own good when fading into fourth close home over a mile at Sandown most recently, but the form of her victory over the same C&D in July has a strong look to it. With that effort in mind, she gets the vote to stamp her authority on this trappy-looking contest from the front. Sirona got back on track with a solid second over a mile at Longchamp recently and looks the pick of the remainder, while the progressive Fair Point also catches the eye.
SIRONA gave best only to a similarly rejuvenated type when runner-up in listed company at Longchamp (1m) 26 days ago and the balance of this season's efforts give her sound claims kept to this level. Spiritual holds sound claims on these terms and she's feared, whilst another 3-y-o, Rolica, likely has a bigger effort in her locker.
The excellent record of 3yos in this race heightens interest in ROLICA, who has good Newmarket form, and the improving Fair Point.

1st (11) (10/1 +17%) Mutual Respect |
10/1(+17%) | (11) Mutual Respect 10/1, A fair winning chaser in 2023 who wasn't disgraced after 12 months off when a patiently-ridden eighth of 13 in handicap chase here 16 days ago. Merits consideration with that run under his belt. In good form at this time last year and returned from long layoff with okay run this month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (10) (9/4 +75%) Moodofthemoment |
9/4(+75%) | (10) Moodofthemoment 9/4, Still winless but he has shaped well since joining his current yard, second of 13 in handicap chase over C&D 16 days ago. Well in the mix despite taking a 5 lb weights rise. Second in two recent C&D chases for new stable and a likely contender again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (11/1 -100%) Lermoos Legend |
11/1(-100%) | (5) Lermoos Legend 11/1, Course winner who posted a good third of 6 in handicap chase at Cartmel (21.2f, heavy) 32 days ago. Back down in trip and needs considering. In the frame five times in a row since June; versatile regarding trip/ground; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (7/1 +13%) Redbridge Rambler |
7/1(+13%) | (2) Redbridge Rambler 7/1, Signed off last term with Ascot success and resumed with a solid third of 10 in handicap hurdle at Kempton (24.5f, good to soft) in May. Not ruled out now going chasing. In good form over hurdles in the spring; dropped sharply back in trip for chasing debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (11/1 +21%) Playtogetaway |
11/1(+21%) | (1) Playtogetaway 11/1, A fairly useful 2m hurdles winner. Below form sixth of 10 in handicap here (16f, good) 30 days ago but much respected on his chase debut. 2-10 over hurdles; makes chasing debut from good mark but was below form here last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (7/1 -56%) Delpotro |
7/1(-56%) | (8) Delpotro 7/1, Successful 2 out of his 3 starts over fences at Nort-sur-Erdre this summer. Since claimed from Gabriel Leenders for €9,106 so she's an interesting French import with few miles still on the clock. Won two slow-ground claiming chases in France in the spring; makes British debut today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (7) (3/1 +50%) Mary |
3/1(+50%) | (7) Mary 3/1, Scored at Stratford in August and backed it up with a good recent second in 2m1f Downpatrick handicap hurdle. Can give a good account now sent over fences. Back in good form over hurdles this summer; makes her chasing debut today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (9) (12/1 -33%) Tonto Foley |
12/1(-33%) | (9) Tonto Foley 12/1, Hurdles winner who has taken well to fences, bagging his third win at Perth in July. Only fifth of 6 in handicap chase at Newton Abbot (16.3f) last time but the sort to bounce back. Didn't fire last time but has won three chases this year and remains of interest. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
MOODOFTHEMOMENT improved from his return to fences when beaten a neck over C&D earlier in the month and the seven-year-old is capable of handling a 5lb rise in his bid to go one better. Mary went close on her trip across the Irish Sea at Downpatrick last week and she commands respect on her chasing bow. Others to consider are Delpotro and Tonto Foley.
Plenty with chances but at the likely odds it is worth siding with Charlie Longsdon's new recruit DELPOTRO, who was twice a winner in France in the summer and starts here on a handy-looking mark. Dan Skelton's Omaha Wish looks to have more to offer now reverted to fences and rates the main danger, with Mutual Respect, Redbridge Rambler and Lermoos Legend also in the picture.
Top of the list is four-time point winner MOODOFTHEMOMENT (nap), who ran well in defeat on his first two starts for Matt Sheppard.

Paul Townend prefers Stormbreaker. Beaten 7l on hurdle bow; ran out on subsequent hurdle start but big effort on Flat since. |

Although yet to get his head in front in seven career starts to date, IRISH PANTHER undoubtedly has the ability to win races. The Edward O'Grady-trained gelding finished runner-up on his only point-to-point outing, before reaching the frame on all three bumper starts. Having done likewise over hurdles, the seven-year-old gives the impression that it is only a matter of time before he makes the breakthrough. Stormbreaker, who won twice on the Flat when trained in Britain, is entitled to come on from his recent hurdling debut. Although the Willie Mullins-trained five-year-old finished second, he should be capable of better. Stablemate Mr Escobar boasts a similar profile, having shaped with promise on his penultimate start.
STORMBREAKER chased home a pretty useful type in Intense Approach (winner again since) on debut in this sphere at Downpatrick and, with the promise of better to come, he earns the vote ahead of Irish Panther, who sets the standard but he was below par at Killarney when last seen in May and is becoming expensive to follow. The selection's stablemate Mr Escobar is best of the rest.
MR ESCOBAR ran out when last seen over timber but shaped with promise previously and arrives on the back of a big Flat run

1st (5) (2/1 +50%) Supermodel |
2/1(+50%) | (5) Supermodel 2/1, Foaled April 23. 150,000 gns yearling, Night of Thunder filly. Half-sister to useful 1m-1¼m winner Night Battle and US 8.5f winner Startup Mentality. One for the shortlist on her debut for leading yard. 150,000gns yearling; has a striking pedigree and she needs a close look on debut. |

2nd (4) (4/1 -220%) Storm Lady |
4/1(-220%) | (4) Storm Lady 4/1, Made an encouraging start when third of 12 in novice at Leicester (7f, soft, 22/1) on her debut 17 days ago, slowly away. This Zoustar filly seems sure to build on it. Big player. Showed clear promise with her debut third on soft at Leicester 17 days ago; respected. |

3rd (2) (10/3 +52%) Maldevious |
10/3(+52%) | (2) Maldevious 10/3, Twice-raced maiden, better effort when fourth of 13 in novice at Newbury (6f, good to firm) 42 days ago. Needs another step forward sent over 7f now. Promising fourth at Newbury and she looks open to more progress on this step up to 7f. |

Dam 1¼m-1½m winner. Highly respected on debut and well worth a market check. 130,000gns yearling; interesting newcomer and she needs watching in market. |

150/1(-127%) | (6) Teenage Daydream 150/1, Twice-raced maiden. 66/1, last of 12 in novice at Kempton (6f) 23 days ago. Hooded for 1st time with work to do. Well held in both her runs (7f/6f), with a best RPR of 43; hood now added back up in trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Ryka found the Prestige Stakes at Goodwood too hot to handle and the Thirsk winner will be much happier here. She will do well to successfully concede 7lb to STORM LADY, though, with Richard Fahey's filly finishing a very encouraging third behind the exciting Formal on her introduction at Leicester, proving she handles testing conditions in the process. Supermodel cost 150,000gns as a yearling, with Siena's Star only slightly cheaper, and both newcomers have to enter the equation.
STORM LADY shaped well when a debut third at Leicester and with a fair bit of progress on the cards she looks the way to go ahead of well-bred newcomers Siena's Star and Supermodel. Ryka is another who can have a say now she is returned to calmer waters here.
An interesting race in which the vote goes to STORM LADY, who showed plenty of promise with her debut third at Leicester 17 days ago.

1st (4) (13/8 +35%) Time Lock |
13/8(+35%) | (4) Time Lock 13/8, Smart winner of this race 12 months ago and ran much better than she had in the Coronation Cup when third of 6 to Giavellotto in Princess of Wales's Stakes at Newmarket (12f, good to soft) in July. Tongue strap on for 1st time and sets the standard back down in grade. Won this last year; not so good this term but still two respectable results; tongue-tie on. |

10/1(+50%) | (5) Comic Book 10/1, Showed much improved form to get off the mark in a maiden at Bellewstown (12f) in July. Pinched some black type at the first attempt when fourth at Deauville next time and ran to a similar level in a listed event at Longchamp (13.9f) since. Close up in Group 3 at Deauville (1m4f, good) and Listed race at Longchamp (1m6f). |

Likely to improve further. 2nd to Divina Grace in Newmarket Listed race; hopes of further progress after just 3 races. |

2/1(+69%) | (3) Sea Of Roses 2/1, Proved better than ever when winning 4-runner listed race at Windsor (11.4f, soft) 34 days ago, aided by run of race but showing a willing attitude all the same. More needed back up in grade, though. Windsor Listed win (11.4f, soft) latest; bids for Group-race breakthrough at 7th attempt. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
MISTRAL STAR was far from disgraced when finishing fourth in a classy renewal of the Yorkshire Oaks over this trip last month and, with her sights lowered, the daughter of Frankel may be the one to side with. Time Lock gave best to two stronger stayers when finishing third in a Group 2 over 1m4f on the July course here last time and she looks the main danger to the selection, especially if the application of a first-time tongue-tie has the desired effect. The unexposed Place Of Safety is respected most out of the remainder.
The vote goes to TIME LOCK, who sets the standard judged on her impressive win in this race 12 months ago. Mistral Star has a progressive profile and warrants plenty of respect back at a more suitable level, with 3-y-o Place of Safety also of interest with further improvement on the cards.
Time Lock, Place Of Safety and Mistral Star are shortlisted but testing ground could swing it in favour of SEA OF ROSES.

5/2(-175%) | (1) Hometown Boy 5/2, Useful chaser. Career best when winning 6-runner handicap chase (11/4) at this C&D (good) 93 days ago, easily. Hard to beat. Won readily by 10l over C&D in June and has obvious claims under penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (6/4 +75%) Coco Mademoiselle |
6/4(+75%) | (5) Coco Mademoiselle 6/4, Winning Irish pointer who landed the odds in Lingfield novice hurdle in November and made the most of a good opportunity when going in again at Chepstow in March. Solid showing at Ayr since and is the sort to take to chasing after five months off. Irish point winner who quickly developed into a fairly useful novice hurdler last season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (6/1 +20%) Weveallbeencaught |
6/1(+20%) | (4) Weveallbeencaught 6/1, Useful winning hurdler who shaped with promise in this sphere when placed in a pair of novice events at Cheltenham earlier this season. Went backwards since and last left Nigel Twiston-Davies in the five months he's been off. 0-5 over fences last season but eased in grade for this stable debut; market may guide. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (8/1 +33%) Jesuitique |
8/1(+33%) | (3) Jesuitique 8/1, Multiple hurdles winner in 2021 and made a positive start over fences, albeit finishing lame when third of 6 in a handicap at Sedgefield when last seen 11 months ago. Needs to do more. Absent since third in Durham National last October and not favoured by today's weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (11/2 -100%) An Tailliur |
11/2(-100%) | (2) An Tailliur 11/2, Prolific winner in handicap hurdles in 2021/22 and ran well in some hot handicaps following season. Looked rusty sent chasing after 17 months off at Stratford a month ago but should have learned from that. Definite player. Very useful handicap hurdler; returned from long layoff with underwhelming chase debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
HOMETOWN BOY gained his first success over the larger obstacles here in June with an authoritative display. The nine-year-old jumped well on the whole and he can put that experience to best use. Coco Mademoiselle was a useful hurdler last season and she may prove to be the main threat on her first attempt over fences, while a change of scenery may have benefited Weveallbeencaught.
HOMETOWN BOY jumped accurately when recording a fluent success in a C&D handicap three months ago and, if he can reproduce that, he should have enough to follow up. An Tailliur can make his presence felt if learning from his chasing debut and Coco Mademoiselle is an interesting chasing debutant.
The most obvious answer is HOMETOWN BOY, who dominated a C&D handicap on his latest outing three months ago.

Open to progress and he's Paul Townend's pick of the 5 Willie Mullins-trained contenders. Narrowly denied at Galway before novice hurdle success latest and clearly on the up. |

Makes handicap hurdle debut. Bumper/maiden hurdle winner; should be fit after recent Flat run; tough mark but unexposed. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
An eye-catching fifth on the Flat at the Curragh last time, HELVIC DREAM should be spot on for this return to hurdling. The Noel Meade-trained seven-year-old looks very well handicapped off a mark of 127, having also attained a triple digit rating on the level. At home with an ease in the ground, the recent rain will have been very welcome to connections of the gelding. Veteran Lord Erskine has been in fine form all year despite his advancing years. Winner of a Listed handicap hurdle at the Dublin Racing Festival, the 11-year-old showed up well on two runs at Galway. Last year's winner Man O Work is now 6lb higher in the ratings but has been lightly raced in recent times. A repeat bid has almost certainly been his primary objective.
Unexposed 5-y-os TOUNSIVATOR and Frankendael both make plenty of appeal. Preference is for the former, who went close in a Galway handicap on his penultimate start prior to coasting home in a Kilbeggan novice. Man O Work will be a threat if he puts his best foot forward, while Sherodan, who should be all the better for last month's reappearance spin on the Flat, is also accorded respect.
This looks competitive but THE DASHER CONWAY still looks well treated, despite a 4lb rise for an unlucky defeat at Kilbeggan recently

1st (4) (6/5 +13%) Nardra |
6/5(+13%) | (4) Nardra 6/5, 440,000 gns yearling. Half-sister to smart winner up to 1m Make Me King. Dam, 2-y-o 6f/7f winner who stayed 1¼m, is a half-sister to smart 2-y-o 6f winner The Wow Signal. This Night Of Thunder filly merits serious consideration 440,000gns yearling; has a striking pedigree and he's an interesting newcomer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (11/1 -100%) Sweet Fantastic |
11/1(-100%) | (2) Sweet Fantastic 11/1, Foaled April 11. £50,000 2-y-o, Lope De Vega colt. Half-brother to 3 winners, including useful 5f/6f winner Tarhib and useful 11f/1½m winner Palais du Louvre. One to note on his debut. £50,000 breeze-up 2yo; one of two runners for yard and market should be informative. |

3rd (3) (13/8 +51%) Top Bins |
13/8(+51%) | (3) Top Bins 13/8, Encouraging third of 8 in novice (11/4) at Chester (6.1f, heavy) on his debut 14 days ago. Should have more to offer so needs considering. Promising third on Chester debut and he should be more streetwise this time; respected. |

4th (1) (11/2 -144%) Nineteen Fourtytwo |
11/2(-144%) | (1) Nineteen Fourtytwo 11/2, Foaled March 31. €25,000 yearling, 140,000 gns 2-y-o, Footstepsinthesand colt. Half-brother to 3 winners, including 9f winner Star Galaxy and winner up to 1¼m War Horse. Dam unraced. Interesting newcomer. 140,000gns breeze-up 2yo; yard 20% with 2yos this season and he needs a close look. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Top Bins chased home a couple of juveniles with previous experience when making a promising start to his career at Chester and he can build on that. He does come up against some interesting first-timers, including his stablemate Sweet Fantastic, but Nineteen Fourtytwo and NARDRA both catch the eye. The latter is a 440,000gns Night Of Thunder half-sister to Group 3 winner Make Me King and the 5lb she receives from her Karl Burke-trained rival - a 140,000gns breeze-up purchase - could prove crucial.
The market should reveal plenty here but William Haggas' Night of Thunder filly NARDRA fetched 440,000 guineas as a yearling so gets the vote from fellow newcomer Nineteen Fourtytwo. Hugo Palmer's duo Sweet Fantastic and Top Bins also need considering in this intriguing novice.
Preference is for the William Haggas-trained newcomer NARDRA, who has a striking pedigree and cost 440,000gns as a yearling.

1st (1) (11/8 +73%) Bubbling |
11/8(+73%) | (1) Bubbling 11/8, No Nay Never filly who landed 7f maiden at Galway in July before posting a good ¾-length third of 9 to Chantez in listed race at Leopardstown (7f, good) 13 days ago when not enjoying the clearest of passages. Open to progress. Considered. Ran creditably, amid traffic issues, at Leopardstown last time; enters calculations. |

2nd (6) (11/1 +67%) Serving With Style |
11/1(+67%) | (6) Serving With Style 11/1, Landed her first two starts at Carlisle (7f) and Goodwood (1m) and not discredited when 7¾ lengths seventh of 9 to Desert Flower in May Hill Stakes at Doncaster (8f, good) 15 days ago. No forlorn hope. Came up short in the May Hill and has something to prove in another Group 2. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (11/2 +35%) Duty First |
11/2(+35%) | (3) Duty First 11/2, Improving Showcasing filly who landed the odds in 7f novice at Ayr in August. Excellent 1¾ lengths second of 7 to Anshoda in Prestige Stakes at Goodwood (7f, soft) 34 days ago. One to consider. Brings progressive 7f form; ran well in Goodwood Group 3 most recently; solid chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (7/4 -17%) Formal |
7/4(-17%) | (5) Formal 7/4, Dubawi filly has made a highly promising start in easily bagging maiden at Newbury and novice at Leicester this summer, both over 7f. Open to significant improvement and the one to beat despite this step up in grade. Well-bred filly who has recorded two comfortable wins and looks a smart prospect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (16/1 -14%) Definitive |
16/1(-14%) | (2) Definitive 16/1, Dark Angel filly made a winning debut in 6f maiden at Haydock before advancing her form when 2½ lengths fifth in Princess Margaret Stakes at Ascot (6f, good) later in July. Can do better still after a break with hood added. Gives the impression this step up to 7f may prompt a higher level of form; hood on. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
BUBBLING would have finished closer to the eventual winner if granted a clear passage when a never-nearer third in a Leopardstown Listed race recently and, provided the cards fall right for her here, this progressive daughter of No Nay Never looks well capable of plundering Group 2 honours. Formal has notched up two wins from as many career starts this season and she can give the selection most to think about, while this step up in trip may see Definitive in a better light.
Sir Michael Stoute's FORMAL has looked a fine prospect when impressively landng lesser events at Newbury and Leciester so is fancied to take this step up in class in her stride and retain her unbeaten record. Aidan O'Brien's duo Ecstatic and Bubbling have better days ahead of them too and can chase home the selection in that order.
Highly promising FORMAL is taken to give the soon-retiring Sir Michael Stoute a fourth Rockfel win. Duty First is second choice.

8/13(+23%) | (7) Potters Charm 8/13, £105,000 4-y-o, Valirann gelding. Finished runner-up only start in points and looked a fine prospect when winning 6-runner FFos Las bumper (15.8f, heavy) in March, barely needing to come off the bridle. Exciting hurdles recruit. Impressive rules debut in a Ffos Las bumper in March (heavy; RPR 119); big player.. |

2nd (2) (14/1 -56%) Chancycourt |
14/1(-56%) | (2) Chancycourt 14/1, Very lightly raced for an 8-y-o and having run creditably when second at Southwell (20.4f) in June, he unseated mid race in 23f maiden here 16 days ago. Player on June's Southwell second (2m4.5f), assuming no repeat of any hanging or mistakes.. |

7/1(+0%) | (12) Micronormous 7/1, Bumper winner who proved she retains all her ability when third of 11 in novice hurdle at this course (23f) 16 days ago, jumping on last and headed final 100 yds. Drop back in trip here won't inconvenience her now equipped with a tongue tie. Beaten under 2l when third here latest (2m7f) after big absence; tongue-tie goes on.. |

6th (3) (80/1 -21%) Get Cracking |
80/1(-21%) | (3) Get Cracking 80/1, £4,000 5-y-o, Getaway gelding. Maiden pointer and he offered little only start for M. Osborne when fourth of 8 in bumper at Exeter (16.7f, heavy) on NH debut 173 days ago. Goes hurdling now for new stable and he's probably best watched. 2m5f maiden point winner in May and unseen for four months; likely one for handicaps.. |

7th (9) (66/1 -164%) Zmiinyi |
66/1(-164%) | (9) Zmiinyi 66/1, £25,000 buy, runner-up completed start in Irish points. Finished well held in pair of maidens at Chepstow/Leicester towards back end of last year and handicaps could well be more his bag moving forward this season. Had wind surgery ahead of return. Beaten over 30l in two 2m4f hurdles last autumn; given time and a wind operation since.. |

9/2(+0%) | (10) Gwennie May Star 9/2, Offered something to work on both starts in bumpers 3 months apart, third of 11 in 16.6f contest at Bangor in June. Step up in trip promises to suit now hurdling and confidence behind him in the betting would look significant for top stable. Could have done better in a Bangor bumper latest (favourite); should make a hurdler.. |

|PU| (6) (150/1 -127%) Knock On Wood |
150/1(-127%) | (6) Knock On Wood 150/1, £7,500 6-y-o, Gatewood gelding. Dam, showed nothing sole start in bumpers, half-sister to fairly useful hurdler/chaser (stayed 3½m) Mr Woodentop. Winning pointer, pulled up last time (May 31). 2m4f maiden point winner for this yard in March (good to soft); absent for four months.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
POTTERS CHARM showed he has a big engine when landing a Ffos Las bumper at the end of March and the five-year-old is expected to make a winning start to life over hurdles, especially with a step up in distance in his favour. Micronormous shaped as though dropping back in trip would play to her strengths when travelling well here over 2m7f last time. Typhoon Flyer, Chancycourt and Zmiinyi are others for the shortlist.
POTTERS CHARM barely had to come off the bridle and looked a very good prospect when making a winning bumper debut at Ffos Las 6 months ago. He's very much of interest now hurdling with his yard in excellent form. Fellow hurdles debutant Gwennie May Star, Typhoon Flyer and Micronormous can emerge as the chief threats.
Impressive Ffos Las bumper winner POTTERS CHARM should find trip and track to suit. Micronormous is next most fancied.

Dual Flat winner; shown ability over timber and workable mark to play with on h'cap debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
A dual winner on the Flat, the Tony Mullins-trained OAKLEY can register a first success over hurdles. Having shown a hint of ability in his qualifying runs, the six-year-old was sent off a well backed 7/2f on his handicap debut at Tipperary in May. Leading after three out, a bad mistake at the penultimate flight saw him lose all chance. Despite that, the son of Protectionist kept on to finish a respectable fifth. With a better round of jumping, the gelding should have too much class for this grade. Twice successful over hurdles this season, Flashthelights has to be of interest for trainer Noel Kelly. The eight-year-old makes the long trek down from County Derry so is clearly fancied by connections. The locally-trained Tipp For Mac has yet to win a race but is a consistent horse who should at least reach the frame.
Unsurprisingly plenty arrive with claims including the returning OAKLEY. He showed much more than previously in this sphere and shaped better than the bare result to boot when fifth on handicap debut at Tipperary in May and he could be worth chancing back from a break with the prospect of more to come. Benjis Benefit is much better than his latest effort suggests and is feared. Impero and Flashthelights complete the shortlist.
A drop in trip on rain-softened ground could be the answer for JUNOT who hasn't had his preferred conditions in recent starts

1st (3) (2/1 +0%) King Of Light |
2/1(+0%) | (3) King Of Light 2/1, Won a 5f Musselburgh novice in August and, though only mid-field at York next time, he took a sizeable step forward when fourth of 14 in a listed race at Ayr last week. Officially 8 lb 'well-in' for this nursery debut and will surely go close if handling the ground (only raced on good/good to firm). Due an 8lb rise after last week's Listed 4th at Ayr; unraced on this softer ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (7/4 +50%) Francisco's Piece |
7/4(+50%) | (1) Francisco's Piece 7/4, Registered second success when taking a listed event at Chantilly (5f, good to soft) in June. However, no impact in Group company the last twice and while this is a more realistic assignment and he's proven on slow ground, conceding upwards of 11 lb to his 5 rivals will not be easy. Tough mark for nursery debut but there will be no other excuses back on favoured ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (6/1 -167%) Nad Alshiba Green |
6/1(-167%) | (4) Nad Alshiba Green 6/1, Has improved markedly since switched to nurseries, successful at Bath and Sandown (both over 5f on fast ground), either side of finding just one too good at Lingfield. 5 lb rise for latest win fair enough and she will be a danger to all if the forecast slower ground here doesn't prove problematic. Up 5lb and ground this soft will be a first, but she's nicely progressive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (4/1 +0%) Teej A |
4/1(+0%) | (2) Teej A 4/1, Progressive during the spring, winning 2 of first 3 starts, including the Woodcote Stakes at Epsom (6f, soft). Back on track when an unlucky second in a 5f Chester nursery (again on soft) 13 days ago and the fact that she's proven on slow ground counts for plenty. Yard also saddles King of Light. Near miss at Chester last time but that was a Class 4 and this is a Class 2. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (14/1 +13%) Up The Clarets |
14/1(+13%) | (5) Up The Clarets 14/1, Made a winning debut at Hamilton in May but no progress and 0-7 since. Best to look elsewhere. Well beaten last week at Ayr; 4lb lower in future; tries cheekpieces. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
KING OF LIGHT arrives here 8lb well-in following his fourth in a Listed contest at Ayr last Friday. The only question mark for the son of Mehmas would be the ground, but his dam is a half-sister to a Group 3 winner on a soft surface which offers hope that conditions are unlikely to inconvenience him. Nad Alshiba Green has won twice in nursery company and may well have more to offer, while dropping in class will help Francisco's Piece.
With slow ground forecast NAD ALSHIBA GREEN and King of Light both have a little bit to prove but their claims are otherwise strong. The latter got the better of La Bellota (recently just touched off in Group 2 company) at Musselburgh last month and is due to go up 8 lb following his improved effort in a listed race last week. He is not passed over lightly but preference is for Nad Alshiba Green, who did the job well at Sandown last time and may have more to offer. Teej A is best of the rest.
King Of Light is 8lb well-in but he's unproven on soft ground, whereas these conditions are ideal for FRANCISCO'S PIECE.

1st (2) (10/3 +33%) Prague |
10/3(+33%) | (2) Prague 10/3, Failed to make the track during his time with Aidan O'Brien but has quickly made up into a smart performer for this yard, proving suit by the drop to 1m when ½-length second to Holloway Boy in Haydock Group 3 earlier this month. Should go well. Only made debut in June; looked unlucky not to win a Group 3 at Haydock last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (2/1 +56%) Poker Face |
2/1(+56%) | (1) Poker Face 2/1, Ran close to his best when second to Ice Max in Celebration Mile at Goodwood (soft) last month but only a respectable 2 lengths fourth to Diego Valazquez in Leopardstown Group 2 since. Needs to get back to his best. Ground too quick in Ireland last time so ran well; respected with a soft lead possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (2/1 +60%) Task Force |
2/1(+60%) | (6) Task Force 2/1, Smart and consistent colt who was tongue tied when posting a very good 1¼ lengths third of 9 to reopposing ownermate Lead Artist in Glorious Goodwood Group 3 (1m, firm) early last month. Met some trouble and shaped as if still in good form when fourth in York Group 3 since. Not had the best of luck in recent Group 3s; unexposed on rain-softened ground; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (4/1 +20%) Ice Max |
4/1(+20%) | (3) Ice Max 4/1, Started the year with a couple of very impressive performances in handicaps. Came up short at listed/Group 3 level on next 2 outings but back on the up with a bang when proving a length too strong for Poker Face in the Celebration Mile at Goodwood (soft). 3 lb penalty but still much respected. Beat Poker Face in the Celebration Mile and today's stiff finish will suit him ideally. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
Ice Max cosily took care of Poker Face (second) when securing the Celebration Mile at Goodwood last month and considering the manner of that victory, he is expected to confirm the form. However, they both might up against it with LEAD ARTIST, who was only denied by the smart Kinross in the Group 2 Park Stakes at Doncaster earlier in the month and the step back up in distance should suit. The son of Dubawi continues to improve and he can record his third career victory.
LEAD ARTIST will be suited by the return to 1m and can go one better than in similar company at the Doncaster St Leger meeting. Prague shaped well tackling 1m for the first time at Haydock earlier this month and may provide the main threat. Celebration Mile winner Ice Max would also firmly enter the reckoning should the ground turn soft.
In a tight renewal a chance is taken on TASK FORCE who tends to finish his races out strongly and he could improve on softening ground.

1st (6) (3/1 +40%) Flying Fortune |
3/1(+40%) | (6) Flying Fortune 3/1, Dual bumper winner who has upped her form over hurdles this summer, winning a Market Rasen handicap in July before landing the odds in a mares' novice over this C&D. This 5-y-o almost certainly has more to offer and is likely to make a bold bid to complete the hat-trick. Won her last two and is versatile ground-wise but others may have more potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (11/1 -22%) Ebony Warrior |
11/1(-22%) | (8) Ebony Warrior 11/1, Made little impact in bumpers but different story since switched to hurdles here, building on promise of debut in this sphere when landing a 2m novice in ready fashion. Further progress when second to Letterston Lily upped to this trip last time and should go well on this handicap debut. 2m course winner in July and ran well over C&D last month; others look stronger, though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (13) (11/2 +31%) Letterston Lily |
11/2(+31%) | (13) Letterston Lily 11/2, Bumper winner at the third attempt and made it 2-3 in this sphere when accounting for Ebony Warrior and 6 others in a C&D novice. Helps give the Bowen's a strong hand (yard also represented by Flying Fortune) and she merits respect on this handicap debut. Battled well to win C&D novice last month; needs to find more on this handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (9/2 +63%) Backmersackme |
9/2(+63%) | (2) Backmersackme 9/2, Point/bumper winner who has shown ability in a handful of runs in this sphere and also on the Flat the last twice. Cheekpieces enlisted for this handicap debut and, as with all Emmet Mullins-trained visitors to these shores, he's one to monitor closely in the betting. Tricky to weigh up but very unexposed, and stable is always feared in valuable races. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (14/1 -75%) Bob Bob Ricard |
14/1(-75%) | (4) Bob Bob Ricard 14/1, Improved for the switch to fences during the summer, landing back-to-back handicap chases at Ffos Las and this course. Performed to a similar level back hurdling when 3 lengths second to Fine Margin in a C&D novice last time and he's of strong interest on his handicap debut in this sphere. Dual chase winner in spring; ran very well behind Fine Margin when back hurdling in July. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (33/1 -106%) Shengai Enki |
33/1(-106%) | (9) Shengai Enki 33/1, Fair hurdler who is going the right way, supplementing May's Uttoxeter handicap (23.3f, soft) success in novice company dropped to 2m here the following month. However, he ran no sort of a race back from a break at Cartmel last time and is now tried in cheekpieces. Won twice in the spring (2m7f/2m); cheekpieces added after poor run last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (12) (16/1 -14%) Full Monty |
16/1(-14%) | (12) Full Monty 16/1, Opened his account with a cosy success in a 2½m Uttoxeter maiden (good to firm) in July but he was behind Letterston Lily and Ebony Warrior over this C&D last time. Tongue strap enlisted for this handicap debut. Behind two of these when fourth over C&D last month but open to improvement in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (16/1 +20%) New Order |
16/1(+20%) | (10) New Order 16/1, Got off the mark in Irish points at second attempt and runner-up on 2 of his 5 starts in this sphere. Rather disappointing at Southwell last time, though, and he needs to raise his game now handicapping. 0-5 over hurdles and seems to have some quirks; off since below-par run in May; too risky. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (17/2 -21%) Mostly Sunny |
17/2(-21%) | (3) Mostly Sunny 17/2, Three-time winner on the Flat for Heather Main and has taken well to hurdles for the Skelton yard, winning twice from 5 starts in this sphere and latest fourth of 17 in the Summer Hurdle at Market Rasen (16.6f, good to firm) was a solid effort. This stiffer test may help and he's a key player. Creditable fourth in 2m Summer Hurdle in July and likely to be suited by this longer trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (12/1 -9%) Jacobs Acre |
12/1(-9%) | (11) Jacobs Acre 12/1, Fair form in bumpers and improved with each of his 3 starts in this sphere, off the mark on handicap debut upped to 19.6f at Bangor (good) 3 weeks ago. More needed up 6 lb in this tougher race but he's unexposed and merits respect for last year's winning trainer-jockey combination. Travelled strongly before asserting on recent handicap debut; has more improvement to come. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (17/2 -42%) Fine Margin |
17/2(-42%) | (1) Fine Margin 17/2, Duly landed the odds in a Fontwell maiden in May and has added to that in novice events over this C&D and at Bangor since. This mark looks manageable returned to handicap company but several of these rivals are more appealing nonetheless. Second in major handicap last autumn and 3-3 in novice company this season; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (14) (50/1 -150%) Haarar |
50/1(-150%) | (14) Haarar 50/1, Back-to-back winner over hurdles in May but safely held bidding for the hat-trick on handicap debut in this sphere at Hexham the following month. Safely held both starts on the Flat since. Dual novice winner in My; came last on handicap debut; recent Flat form also below par. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
SEEYOUINMYDREAMS has proved a different proposition since undergoing a wind procedure in November, with dominant displays at Fakenham and at this venue since. Paul Nicholls' mare makes her handicap debut off what looks a lenient mark and she may land the spoils in a competitive affair. The Willie Mullins-trained Fine Margin is sure to have his supporters in his quest to land a four-timer, while Mostly Sunny is a potential improver up in distance.
This looks competitive with several progressive types on show. FLYING FORTUNE has looked good at Market Rasen and this course the last twice, and she could be the answer with further progress likely. Ebony Warrior is taken to reverse last month's C&D placings with the selection's stablemate Letterston Lily and emerge as the main danger, while Mostly Sunny should go well now upped in trip and Bob Bob Ricard, who was left with too much to do when second to Fine Margin here, are others to consider.
Emmet Mullins' BACKMERSACKME held his own in a Grade 1 on his hurdling debut and is selected ahead of Fine Margin.

Recent Galway runner-up HEES DYNAMITE can go one better in this similar grade. Perhaps unlucky to bump into a well handicapped rival at the western track, the Eric McNamara-trained gelding holds leading claims here. Jockey Sean Flanagan looks a significant booking for a stable that tend to target this meeting. West Clare, another that had to settle for minor honours at Ballybrit last month, should also be involved for Brian McMahon. The Leading Light gelding was only just touched off when sent off favourite under Richie Deegan. Locally trained Spavango, who shaped well in decent maidens over the winter, should find this somewhat easier. Eoin McCarthy is sure to have had this meeting in mind for the gelding for some time.
The vote goes to RANGER BILLY, who found just one too good at Ballinrobe last time and he remains on a workable mark up 2 lb. Hees Dynamite is 0-11 overall but was also runner-up on his latest start at Galway and will be a danger to all if able to build on that. West Clare went down all guns blazing when touched off by the re-opposing Oskar High last time and is taken to get the better of that rival on these revised terms. Granda George is one to keep an eye on now handicapping.
A chance is taken on HEES DYNAMITE, who probably hit the front too soon when runner-up over this trip at Galway

1st (6) (9/2 +0%) Minstrel Knight |
9/2(+0%) | (6) Minstrel Knight 9/2, Deservedly opened his account at Carlisle in June and has followed that with solid efforts in defeat in 1½m handicaps at Southwell and Hamilton since. Proven on slow ground (conditions were testing when third on his reappearance here during the spring) and promises to be suited by this trip. Despite pedigree, he now shapes as if 1m6f may be within reach; needs a second look. |

2nd (7) (10/3 +44%) Filibustering |
10/3(+44%) | (7) Filibustering 10/3, Opened account over this trip at Redcar in May and hasn't done much wrong since, most recently finishing fifth in a 10-runner Class 2 C&D handicap. The more rain the better for this son of Postponed and he has to be taken seriously. Met trouble in running in warm C&D race three weeks ago; one to note in a likely slog. |

11/2(+0%) | (3) Hot Fuss 11/2, Went close on penultimate start at Goodwood (1¼m, soft) last month and shaped as though still in good form when third of 9 at Ascot next time. Conditions in his favour and, with this step up in trip a potentially good move, he has to be high on the shortlist. Goes well on soft, as shown again on penultimate start, but unraced beyond 1m2f. |

4th (1) (9/1 +0%) Spaceport |
9/1(+0%) | (1) Spaceport 9/1, Suited by the step up to this trip when making all at Sandown (good to soft) in July but hasn't been able to repeat that performance in his 2 subsequent outings. Others make more appeal. May have gone off the boil; acts on good to soft, withdrawn last week on heavy ground. |

5th (4) (11/5 +2%) Sam Hawkens |
11/5(+2%) | (4) Sam Hawkens 11/5, Off the mark at third attempt in a heavy-ground Salisbury maiden (1½m) in May. Put in his place next 2 starts but, having changed hands for 105,000 gns, he shaped as though this stiffer test would be right up his street when a never-nearer fourth of 9 at Ascot last month. Second run for the yard; today's trip and ground could help him to build on latest promise. |

6th (2) (22/1 -267%) Walter Hartright |
22/1(-267%) | (2) Walter Hartright 22/1, Much improved equipped with blinkers/under positive tactics, bringing up a quick-fire 4-timer at Yarmouth (11.5f, good) in July. Creditable efforts in defeat since, including upped to this trip over C&D last time, and he should make his presence felt once again. Having a very solid campaign since blinkered but he has something to prove in the mud. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (17/2 -55%) Calvert |
17/2(-55%) | (5) Calvert 17/2, Placed on 3 of his 4 starts handicaps this season, producing his best effort yet when finding only an unexposed type too good upped to this trip at Newmarket (soft) last time. However, he benefited from a soft lead that day, a scenario which is unlikely here. Best effort this term when upped to 1m6f for second of five at Newmarket (soft) last time. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
SAM HAWKENS wasn't at all disgraced when fourth at the Shergar Cup last month and the son of Galileo makes plenty of appeal with underfoot conditions promising to suit him. A winner on heavy ground at Salisbury, all of his subsequent efforts have come on much livelier surfaces so there is every chance he may step up. Calvert and Minstrel Knight appeal most of the remainder.
There isn't much between all seven of these and the vote goes to SAM HAWKENS, who wasn't seen to best effect when fourth on debut for new connections at Ascot and the combination of this step up in trip and slower ground will make this is a far more favourable scenario for the Galileo colt. Hot Fuss is unproven beyond 1¼m but shapes as though he'll stay, while Minstrel Knight will almost certainly benefit from this stiffer test and he is also feared, along with Filibustering.
Strength in stamina may see FILIBUSTERING (nap) home in front, after the traffic problems he encountered over C&D three weeks ago.

9/4(+68%) | (5) Frankini 9/4, Promising fourth of 9 in maiden at Ascot (7f, good to soft) on debut 21 days ago, nearest finish. The reopposing Seaplane was around 1½ lengths ahead in second on that occasion but he may get closer to him this time. Ties in with Seaplane on Ascot running; set for an interesting rematch. |

4th (9) (5/1 +38%) Sea Force |
5/1(+38%) | (9) Sea Force 5/1, Sea The Stars colt. Half-brother to useful winner up to 7f Pretty Crystal. Dam winner up to 7f (2-y-o 6f winner). Would enter the reckoning if the betting suggests he's fancied. Sea The Stars colt; yard won this race with a newcomer (SP 33-1) in 2018. |

40/1(-150%) | (2) Azoozi 40/1, 50/1, sixth of 12 in maiden at Haydock (7f, good) on debut 22 days ago. Best to look elsewhere. Haydock effort is below the required standard in this race. |

150/1(-127%) | (6) Le Pelerin 150/1, 33/1, ninth of 13 in novice at Kempton (1m) on debut 21 days ago. Likely booked for another struggle. Soundly beaten in 1m AW event at Kempton. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Seaplane has shown plenty of ability in both of his starts to date, with his latest effort when runner-up at Ascot possibly the strongest piece of form on offer. However, a chance can be taken on newcomer SECRET THEORY, who is the choice of William Buick from the Godolphin pair in this contest and he is related to plenty of Group winners. The son of Dubawi goes for the in-form Charlie Appleby stable and it would be no surprise to see him make an immediate impact. Archivist completes the shoirtlist.
An interesting race in which the market could prove informative, particularly regarding the Godolphin newcomers. SEAPLANE shaped well when second at Ascot recently and gets the nod with further progress likely. Frankini wasn't too far behind the selection at Ascot and is second choice ahead of Archivist before any betting clues are known.
With further progress on the cards, ARCHIVIST is preferred. Interesting newcomer Secret Theory is second choice.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
ENCLOSURE is related to several winners, notably Group 1-winning miler Integral, and shaped as though she wanted further when not beaten too far into sixth over 7f here on debut. With that experience under her belt and a longer trip, Sir Michael Stoute's filly is narrowly preferred to Hock Eye The Noo, who did well to be beaten just over a length after a troubled start over 7f first time out and also has scope for plenty of improvement. Zizi looks best of the rest.
Preference is for ENCLOSURE, who shaped as if in need of the experience when sixth here last month and Sir Michael Stoute's filly is entitled to progress from that initial effort. Hock Eye The Noo pulled clear of the remainder when third at Lingfield first time up last month so she can give the selection most to think about, with Zizi and debutante Advertorial another couple worth considering, too.
Few with compelling claims. ZIZI can improve for the new trip and she's preferred to Enclosure and Hock Eye The Noo.

5th (8) (13/2 +80%) Gaelic Park |
13/2(+80%) | (8) Gaelic Park 13/2, Point/bumper winner who got off the mark over hurdles in 11-runner maiden at Warwick (21f, heavy) in March 2023 but struggled in handicaps last season. A 5 -month break needs to have had a reviving effect. Point/bumper/2m5f hurdle winner with cut; still below par in handicaps when last seen.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
A rise in distance inspired a career-best performance from EARTH CRY over an extended 2m5f at Fontwell and this extra yardage could improve him even further. Although an 8lb rise in the ratings demands more from the six-year-old, a fourth victory since June could be on the cards. The biggest threat may emerge from Tiger Jet, who made a successful stable debut at Cartmel last month. Fame And Fun is also worth a second look now reverting to hurdles.
The obvious one here is the progressive EARTH CRY who is taken to defy the handicapper again with the Neil Mulholland stable continuing in good form. Made For You has had a solid spell on the Flat and over hurdles this summer and is second choice ahead of Cartmel-scorer Tiger Jet.
Edging down the weights and hinting at the need for a stayers' trip last time, LUTINEBELLA gets the nod over Made For You.

Winner of this corresponding race in 2022, TEMPTATIONINMILAN can record another success for trainer Charles Byrnes. The Milan gelding missed last year's renewal as he was later returning to training. However, having won off a mark of 112 last February, the eight-year-old doesn't look badly treated here off 4lb lower here. Ballinrobe runner-up Cahirdown Boy is sure to have been primed for this local meeting. However, the Eric McNamara-trained gelding has shown his best form on quicker ground so wouldn't want conditions to deteriorate further. Marelly has yet to show any worthwhile form over fences but is nicely handicapped on his best form over hurdles. With soft ground very much in his favour, the Philip Rothwell-trained gelding has to be a contender.
GAELIC DES CHASTYS has made a promising start to chasing and, having found one too good again at Roscommon last time, he's fancied to open his acccount in this sphere. Cahirdown Boy and Farrokh, also runners-up last time, should also be involved.
EVERYSTEP OFTHEWAY should get a lovely toe into the race as he sits in behind the likely front-runner and gets the vote

16/5(+36%) | (3) Hurtle Wallop 16/5, Has displayed temperament and whilst he ran creditably, he looked difficult off the bridle when fourth of 10 in handicap at Goodwood (14f, soft, 6/1) 34 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Stayed on from well off the pace at Goodwood (1m6f, soft) latest; cheekpieces replace hood. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
GIVEMEFIVE made a fine transition to hurdling last winter by winning twice in juvenile hurdles before going close to landing a Grade 2 in the Adonis at Kempton. The four-year-old was last seen on the Flat winning at Roscommon last September and could prove to be ahead of the handicapper. Hurtle Wallop may benefit from first-time cheekpieces and is respected along with Arctic Fox.
Judged on his exploits over hurdles last winter (useful form) GIVEMEFIVE could well be on a lenient mark returned to the level and he gets the narrow vote over last year's winner Billy No Mates, who suggested his turn isn't far away over C&D last time. Surrey Belle may emerge best of the others.
Billy No Mates bids to win this for the third time but GIVEMEFIVE could prove too hot to handle. Hurtle Wallop is shortlisted.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (150/1 -838%) Rhythm And Moves |
150/1(-838%) | (9) Rhythm And Moves 150/1, Once-raced gelding on Flat. Twelfth of 13 in juvenile hurdle (33/1) at Ballinrobe (17.9f, good) 14 days ago. Tongue strap on for 1st time. Poor on last Flat outing. Well-beaten over hurdles and on the Flat; tongue tie goes on, difficult to fancy. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
The Michael Halford and Tracey Collins-trained ATEENOSIX holds leading claims at these weights. Third in a maiden at this track last time, the gelding has upwards of 9lb in hand of his rivals in this contest. Ace In The Pack will need to step up on his two most recent starts but the Kevin Prendergast-trained gelding was placed over a sprint trip earlier in the season. In a race that doesn't look as if it will take much winning, he holds every chance. Adam's Boy could be the potential improver in the line-up. A staying-on fifth at Cork last time, the four-year-old retains the blinkers that seemed to bring about some progression. While he has a bit to find with the principals, it would be no surprise to see him reach the frame at the very least.
A repeat of the level ATEENOSIX has shown on all 4 starts here this year will likely be enough to see her get off the mark. Hezahunk is another with some decent course form and is second choice ahead of Ace In The Pack.
The top rated ATEENOSIX (nap) is well treated by the conditions of the race and this looks a good opportunity for him.

1st (2) (10/1 +17%) Burdett Road |
10/1(+17%) | (2) Burdett Road 10/1, Won handicap at Royal Ascot last year and developed into a useful hurdler for this yard during the winter. Back on the Flat, raced freely when mid-field in Ebor at York, before unsuited by way the race developed at Chester (12.3f, soft) last time. Not written off. Settling him remains a major issue and marked overall improvement is needed. |

2nd (9) (10/11 +55%) Military Academy |
10/11(+55%) | (9) Military Academy 10/11, From an excellent family and ran to a useful level first time up when winning at Hamilton (11.1f, heavy) in August. Still green but followed up at Salisbury (9.9f, good to soft) 2 weeks ago, quickening clear impressively, so he's not taken lightly upped in grade. Makes a big step up in class but a bold show would not surprise after two novice wins. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (9/2 -13%) Aimeric |
9/2(-13%) | (1) Aimeric 9/2, Won handicap at Lingfield on return before runner-up in listed races next 2 starts. Not seen to best effect the last twice, though shaped encouragingly on first run since leaving Roger Varian when close third of 4 in listed event at Windsor (11.4f, soft) last time. Respected. Minor honours this summer in three Listed events and a Group race; a leading player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (5/2 +17%) Epic Poet |
5/2(+17%) | (4) Epic Poet 5/2, Smart in France and back on track for current yard this year, building on his previous promise this season when landing the Old Borough Cup at Haydock (14f, good) 20 days ago. Pulled clear with the runner-up last time and he's a major player back up in grade. Cracked it in a good handicap last time and that form makes him a player at this level too. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (33/1 -106%) Lucentio |
33/1(-106%) | (8) Lucentio 33/1, Has thrived since going up in trip with cheekpieces added, completing the hat-trick in 6-runner handicap at Windsor (11.4f, good to firm) when last seen in June. Going the right way but faces a much tougher task this time around. 3-3 in this headgear combination in 11.4f handicaps at Windsor; this is a leap up in class. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
Unbeaten three-year-old MILITARY ACADEMY has shaped like a smart prospect in both victories to date and he looks ready to score at Listed level. The son of Fastnet Rock made all in ready fashion over 1m2f at Salisbury earlier in the month and this 1m4f distance should hold no fears. Having landed Haydock's Old Borough Cup over 1m6f, Epic Poet certainly won't be lacking for stamina down in trip and he's feared most, ahead of Aimeric.
Having been shaping up well, EPIC POET proved better than ever when battling well for success at Haydock last time, so he looks well worth his place back in this higher grade. He is taken to get the better of Military Academy, who is respected as he bids to maintain his unbeaten record, while Aimeric can also make his presence felt.
The solid option looks to be AIMERIC (nap), although Military Academy has to be feared and Epic Poet is also in calculations.

1st (1) (15/2 -114%) Daytona Lady |
15/2(-114%) | (1) Daytona Lady 15/2, C&D winner. 3 wins from 14 runs this year. Wasted no time getting back on track when second of 7 in handicap at Chelmsford City (6f, 11/4) 27 days ago, running on. Can give another good account. Hold-up sprinter; good 2nd off this mark last time; C&D winner; should go well again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (20/1 -122%) Jax Edge |
20/1(-122%) | (3) Jax Edge 20/1, Latest win at Ffos Las in June. 8/1, bounced back to form when third of 6 in handicap at Sandown (5f, good) 9 days ago, never nearer. Back up in trip. This just her second all-weather start so others more persuasive. Something to prove on AW but she's been in fair form on turf this summer. |

3rd (5) (7/4 +22%) Brazilian Rose |
7/4(+22%) | (5) Brazilian Rose 7/4, Debut winner at Lingfield in August. Didn't run badly but couldn't improve when third of 7 in novice at Catterick (6f, good to soft, 7/4) 17 days ago. Makes handicap debut and should have more to offer. Debut win more impressive than the margin suggests; soft ground latest; leading claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (11/4 -38%) Gultari |
11/4(-38%) | (7) Gultari 11/4, Winner at Yarmouth in August. Failed by the narrowest of margins to follow up when second of 9 in handicap at same course (6f, firm, 11/4) 9 days ago. Has to be taken seriously from the same mark. Improved runs at Yarmouth the last twice, clear with a progressive one latest; 3lb well in. |

5th (2) (7/2 +71%) Ormolulu |
7/2(+71%) | (2) Ormolulu 7/2, Bit below form fifth of 9 in handicap at Lingfield (7f, AW, 12/1) 22 days ago. Mark continues to slide. Two wins last year; handicapper on top this time around; others are more appealing. |

6th (6) (9/1 +44%) Horse Whisperer |
9/1(+44%) | (6) Horse Whisperer 9/1, C&D winner. Latest win at Ffos Las in July. 25/1, again ran poorly when last of 9 in handicap at Yarmouth (6f, firm) 9 days ago. Bit to prove now. C&D win in April and also won on turf in July; needs to bounce back from two quiet runs. |

7th (4) (100/1 -733%) Spiritual Pursuit |
100/1(-733%) | (4) Spiritual Pursuit 100/1, Again ran below form when fourth of 5 in maiden (5/1) at Ayr (6f, good) when last seen 5 months ago. First run for yard after leaving Archie Watson. Hood on 1st time. Makes handicap debut. Front-runner; failed to progress for A Watson and sold for 1,500gns recently; now hooded. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
William Haggas has his string in fine form at present and he has a good chance here with GULTARI, who missed out on a 6f Yarmouth double by the narrowest of margins off this mark last week. Another bold bid is anticipated, but the same can be said of Daytona Lady, who also finished a close second in a similar event at Chelmsford last time and she's a previous C&D scorer. A 7f winner on debut at Lingfield before a fair effort in defeat at Catterick when dropped to this trip latest, Brazilian Rose should appreciate a return to the all-weather.
GULTARI once again displayed plenty of willingness in battle when going down by a nostril at Yarmouth 9 days ago and William Haggas' filly can regain the winning thread at the expense of Brazilian Rose, who couldn't advance her debut winning form at Catterick earlier this month but still ran quite well in third. Daytona Lady can edge out Ormolulu for third.
Brazilian Rose could be ahead of her mark and is feared but GULTARI is a sprinter on the up and she gets the nod.

1st (8) (5/2 +50%) Razzo Italiano |
5/2(+50%) | (8) Razzo Italiano 5/2, Efforts mixed this year but capitalised on drop in to selling handicap company when adding to his sole previous success at Stratford (18.7f) 3 weeks ago. Made a yard switch ahead of this and he's not dismissed lightly. Selling handicap score latest (2m3f, good); still on a winning mark; debut for the Bowens.. |

2nd (2) (11/1 +56%) Douglas Dc |
11/1(+56%) | (2) Douglas Dc 11/1, A fairly useful hurdler in Ireland for Gordon Elliott who shaped well on a few occasions for his new yard last season. Running respectably on Flat prior to a disappointing run back in this sphere at Stratford (16.3f) 3 weeks ago. Cheekpieces back on but losing run is off-putting. Solid Flat efforts this summer, so disappointing a recent Stratford effort wasn't better.. |

3rd (1) (3/1 +63%) Byzantine Empire |
3/1(+63%) | (1) Byzantine Empire 3/1, Revived when winning 12-runner C&D handicap in July but failed to fully repeat that effort when fourth at Newton Abbot next time and well-beaten on Flat at Bath (14f) 23 days ago. C&D 0-110 winner in July off 6lb lower, but held next time; poor on the Flat latest.. |

4th (3) (7/2 -75%) Cavern Club |
7/2(-75%) | (3) Cavern Club 7/2, Fairly useful middle-distance winner on the Flat and made a successful start over hurdles with plenty to spare at Cartmel (17.2f) in July. Runner-up under a penalty at Stratford (16.3f) 3 weeks ago and no surprise to see him in the mix now handicapping. Easy Cartmel maiden winner on soft; player if settling and jumping better than last time.. |

5th (7) (25/1 0%) Max's Champ |
25/1(0%) | (7) Max's Champ 25/1, Finished runner-up in a Hereford maiden (19.7f) in spring 2023 but finished well held all 4 starts in handicaps last season. 40/1(-60%) | (9) Uncle Arthur 40/1, Opened his hurdles account for Fergal O'Brien in December but largely struggled for James Owen. Set stiff task and never figured for new yard over fences at Stratford (17f) in July and he's likely best watched from out of weights/returned to hurdles. Had wind surgery. C&D bumper winner in June 2022 (good) but just 1-19 since; has had wind surgery.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (5/1 -25%) Dunbulcan Bay |
5/1(-25%) | (5) Dunbulcan Bay 5/1, Flemensfirth gelding who makes a quick switch to handicaps following pair of in-the-frame efforts, improving when second of 7 in novice hurdle at Cartmel (22.1f, good to soft) in May. Better to come now handicapping. Back down in trip. Early days but optimum trip perhaps isn't clear yet; initial mark makes sense, at least.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
It may be worth chancing DOG FOX has been freshened up by a 64-day layoff. The four-year-old ran out a ready winner on his penultimate start at Bangor and he might be able to put his short-odds defeat when fifth over C&D last time behind him. Handicap debutant Dunbulcan Bay is respected, along with the unexposed Cavern Club, who was useful on the Flat.
DOG FOX was strong in the betting on the back of his Bangor victory and compromised his chance of following up with a bad mistake last when fifth behind re-opposing Byzantine Empire over C&D back in July. He's worth another chance to prove his revised mark is workable. Cavern Club appeals as the type who can make his mark now handicapping in this sphere and is a definite threat. Low-mileage Dunbulcan Bay, on handicap debut for Dan Skelton, is another in the mix.
Settling better again might seal this for CAVERN CLUB on handicap debut, ahead of Dunbulcan Bay. Neither may mind rain.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Having yet to strike from five attempts over hurdles, reverting to the Flat could see OMNISCIENT return to winning ways. A dual winner for Sir Mark Prescott, the five-year-old has been less than fluent since switching his attention to jumping. Without any obstacles in his path on this occasion, the gelding looks to have strong claims. Killarney winner Seddon faces a stiffer task over this shorter trip but given the manner of his success last time the John McConnell-trained veteran commands maximum respect. Former German winner Weston has yet to get his head in front in this country but shaped with promise when fourth for current connections at Navan in May. The gelding had excuses when badly hampered at Galway on his latest start.
JETARA has proven most likeable and progressive over hurdles and, getting weight from most, she's worth a chance to make a winning Flat debut at the possible expense of Weston, who sets the standard and has an excuse for his latest outing. Seddon is also of interest.
Preference is for WESTON (nap). He had an excuse latest, he has won on soft ground and a repeat of his Navan run in May could suffice.

Below form both outings since, leaving Jane Chapple-Hyam prior to latest. Has patchy profile but he's still lightly raced and this drop back to 7f looks a positive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (9/2 +31%) Yanifer |
9/2(+31%) | (1) Yanifer 9/2, Likeable sort who added to a healthy strike rate when scoring at Chester in August and backed it up with a solid showing there later in the month. Acts on the ground and is likely to be on the premises. Won at Chester last month before another good run there latest; respected back in grade. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
More aggressive tactics paid dividends for Lexington Belle latest as she made all at Newbury. A 4lb higher mark shouldn't prevent another bold bid, but fellow last-time-out winner MEDIA SHOOTER edges the vote. The application of first-time cheekpieces worked the oracle for the son of Advertise at Musselburgh and he looks capable of shrugging off a 7lb rise. Yanifer is also noted dropping in class.
QUEST FOR FUN looks back to his best and is on a fair mark, so he's taken to get the better of last-time-out winners Lexington Belle and King's Vanity, who may take each other on for the lead.
A competitive race in which the vote goes to LEXINGTON BELLE, who was as good as ever with her win on soft at Newbury last time.

25/1(-56%) | (7) Land Lover 25/1, Bit below form tenth of 17 in handicap (9/1) at Fairyhouse (6f, good) 4 days ago. Needs a couple of these to falter. Won on turf earlier in season but has to rebound after a below par run four days ago. |

9th (4) (10/1 +29%) Manhattan Dreamer |
10/1(+29%) | (4) Manhattan Dreamer 10/1, Lightly-raced winner. Course winner. 15¼ lengths last of 8 to Cuban Tiger in listed race (33/1) at Newcastle (8f). Off 6 months. Back down in trip. Makes handicap debut. Won a 7f maiden here in January but poor in Listed company when last seen; long absence. |

11th (5) (50/1 -150%) Bruce Lightning |
50/1(-150%) | (5) Bruce Lightning 50/1, C&D winner. Eleventh of 14 in handicap (25/1) at this course (7f) 77 days ago. Tongue strap on 1st time. Won over C&D in February but below form thrice since and needs best after a break. |

12th (2) (14/1 -56%) Revenite |
14/1(-56%) | (2) Revenite 14/1, First run since leaving Roger Varian when good third of 10 in handicap at Laytown (6f, 50/1) 11 days ago. Two wins in UK but regressive in last year; decent stable debut at Laytown so considered. |

|PU| (3) (9/2 +36%) James Henry |
9/2(+36%) | (3) James Henry 9/2, C&D winner. Respectable fifth of 13 in handicap at this course (7f, 9/2) 7 days ago. Dual AW winner; fine 5f Curragh 3rd but too keen at 7f here last week; chance if settling. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Recent Fairyhouse runner-up I'M SPARTACUS catches the eye on his first visit to Dundalk. Twice a winner on the all-weather when trained in Britain, the Ado McGuinness-trained three-year-old has run some solid races on turf since joining current connections. It would be no surprise to see further improvement now that he makes his first start on the Polytrack in this country. Collective Power, who is 5lb lower than when winning over C&D in February, holds leading claims under Sorcha Woods. Having gone close in a similar grade at Navan earlier this month, the six-year-old looks to be finding his form. Revenite has to be respected on just his second start in this country. Third at Laytown on his Irish debut, the four-year-old had some decent sprint form in Britain.
I'M SPARTACUS is taken to build on his fine second at Fairyhouse earlier in the week and strike for Ado McGuinness. Collective Power is respected back at a venue which suits. Matthew Smith's Eruption also makes the shortlist.
Just denied in a blanket finish at Navan last week, COLLECTIVE POWER is off the same mark today and can claim his fifth course win.

1st (11) (7/2 +75%) First Officer |
7/2(+75%) | (11) First Officer 7/2, Made a winning reappearance at Windsor in April and largely creditable efforts in defeat since, having every chance when fifth of 9 at Chester (10.3f, soft) just under a fortnight ago. Mark does look about right, however. Has form figures of 312 at this track, the success gained a year ago; could go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (12) (9/4 +74%) Battle Queen |
9/4(+74%) | (12) Battle Queen 9/4, Opened her account in a Nottingham maiden in May and shaped well when sixth in Sandringham handicap at Royal Ascot (second home in group) next time. Conceded first run when second at Newbury in July but proved a let-down at York (10.2f, good to firm) 5 weeks ago. Bounce back required. Form dipped last time but consistent otherwise and may well rebound; not dismissed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (2/1 +73%) More Thunder |
2/1(+73%) | (9) More Thunder 2/1, Off the mark at Nottingham in May and good second on his handicap bow at Chester (10.3f, good) when last seen a couple of months ago. That form has received several boosts since and he's a big player off the same mark here with Ryan Moore taking over. Unexposed; form of latest effort is working out very well; interesting off the same mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (11/1 +56%) Sweet Reward |
11/1(+56%) | (8) Sweet Reward 11/1, It's now 11 runs since his last win in 2023 and only seventh of 10 in handicap at Goodwood (9.9f, soft) just under 5 weeks ago. Now 1 lb below his last winning mark so shouldn't be underestimated. Form dipped last time in a Goodwood race he'd won 12 months earlier; opposed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (6/1 +50%) Zozimus |
6/1(+50%) | (6) Zozimus 6/1, Dual 1m winner at Pontefract last month but subsequent rise has left him with little room for manoeuvre, finishing down the field at Beverley (8.4f, good to firm) just under 4 weeks ago. Others seemingly better treated. Consistent on turf this year; however, faces a stiffer assignment back up in grade. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Having found only a subsequent winner too strong on his handicap bow at Chester in July, MORE THUNDER could gain compensation today. Sir Michael Stoute's charge races off an unchanged mark and he likely has more to offer after only four starts. Shamran opened his account in a Salisbury novice contest in late August and a handicap mark of 82 looks workable. The son of Kingman is unlikely to be far away, while Siempre Arturo may have been freshened up by a 64-day break.
Chances can be given to plenty, but the suggestion is MAGNUM OPUS, who shaped as if still in good form when fifth at Doncaster just under a fortnight ago and Simon & Ed Crisford's 3-y-o likely has a bigger effort in his locker. More Thunder progressed another chunk when runner-up at Chester a couple of months ago, so he can provide most resistance to the selection, with Westridge and Gloucestershire another couple worth considering, too.
Judged on his latest effort, MORE THUNDER holds particularly strong claims. Westridge, a similar type, is feared most.

1st (4) (3/1 +50%) Flying Panther |
3/1(+50%) | (4) Flying Panther 3/1, C&D winner in June. 7/1, respectable fifth of 10 in handicap at Windsor (8.1f, good to firm) 46 days ago, hanging left over 1f out. Each-way claims. Easy C&D win in June off 1lb lower; solid runs on turf the last twice; yard bang in form. |

2nd (6) (8/1 +27%) Cerulean Summer |
8/1(+27%) | (6) Cerulean Summer 8/1, 7/1, tenth of 12 in handicap at this C&D 22 days ago, losing all chance at start. Was in good heart prior, so no surprise should she get firmly back on track. Conditions fine and capable off this mark but slow starts are becoming a bad habit. |

3rd (7) (22/1 -10%) Eccentric |
22/1(-10%) | (7) Eccentric 22/1, 22/1, ninth of 12 in handicap at this course (8.6f) 20 days ago, not looking an easy ride under pressure. Work to do. Yet to fire for current yard; only of interest if attracting support. |

4th (5) (4/1 +43%) High Court Judge |
4/1(+43%) | (5) High Court Judge 4/1, C&D winner in June. Well-backed 7/2, ran badly when ninth of 12 in handicap at this C&D 22 days ago, slowly away. In good form prior so can bounce back. Conditions to suit but that was the case when a disappointing favourite here last time. |

5th (3) (4/1 -100%) Sir Laurence Graff |
4/1(-100%) | (3) Sir Laurence Graff 4/1, Finally took advantage of a much-reduced mark in 11-runner handicap at Lingfield (10f, AW, 9/1) 17 days ago, pushed out. Remains well treated on old form so expected to be bang there. Found his level again now and full value for his recent Lingfield win; big chance up 4lb. |

6th (9) (22/1 -10%) Goodwood Vision |
22/1(-10%) | (9) Goodwood Vision 22/1, Fared no better returned to firmer ground when seventh of 9 in handicap (10/1) at Windsor (10f, good to firm) 25 days ago. Makes tapeta debut. Cheekpieces on 1st time. 13-race maiden; bits of form that give her claims but opposable on balance; headgear now. |

7th (8) (3/1 +0%) Storm Asset |
3/1(+0%) | (8) Storm Asset 3/1, C&D winner. Sixteen runs since last win in 2023. 10/1, showed much more than he had of late when second of 12 in handicap at this C&D 22 days ago. Task is now to build on that. Best run for new yard when 2nd over C&D three weeks ago; major player if building on it. |

80/1(-220%) | (10) Dors Delight 80/1, Well beaten all 3 starts, including on return from 11 months off at Chelmsford (8f) just over 6 weeks ago. Makes handicap bow. Makes handicap debut at a low level but hard to recommend on racecourse evidence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (25/1 -56%) The Mayor Porky |
25/1(-56%) | (2) The Mayor Porky 25/1, Well held in 3 turf maidens. Significantly up in trip. Makes handicap debut. Significant improvement is required for the step up in trip and switch to handicaps. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Sir Laurence Graff ended a long drought when scoring off a career-low mark at Lingfield, but he has gone up 4lb for that success and he isn't guaranteed to back it up. Of more appeal is STORM ASSET, who has gone up 1lb for finishing runner-up over this C&D last time but remains 4lb below his last winning mark and has two course victories to his name (one over this trip). Flying Panther is another to note.
SIR LAURENCE GRAFF finally took advantage of a much-reduced mark at Lingfield earlier this month and in a race unlikely to take much winning, Chelsea Banham's 4-y-o can follow up at the expense of High Court Judge, who ran too badly to be true having been well supported over C&D just over 3 weeks ago. Flying Panther and Storm Asset can fight out minor honours.
Flying Panther, Storm Asset and SIR LAURENCE GRAFF appeal most. The selection had something to spare at Lingfield last time.

Gavin Cromwell introduces a well-bred newcomer in the shape of EMILY'S LIGHT. A half-sister to a Grade 1-placed horse in the US, the daughter of Diamond Boy is an intriguing debutant and a bold bid is expected. Runner-up on her first three starts, the Shark Hanlon-trained Pure Logic disappointed at Killarney last time. Although having something to prove now, the four-year-old sets the standard amongst those that have raced. Amboyna has shown promise in her three starts and is another to consider.
AMEN KATE is both out of and half-sister to dual bumper winners and, with Patrick Mullins booked for her debut, she makes most appeal in what looks quite an open event on paper. Fellow newcomer Emily's Light merits respect and Pure Logic looks the pick of those with experience.
The most likely debutante is Gavin Cromwell's EMILY'S LIGHT, who is related to plenty of winners and the stable do well in this sphere

2nd (1) (11/2 -38%) Lord Bertie |
11/2(-38%) | (1) Lord Bertie 11/2, Useful performer who returned to form after 7 months off to land a minor event at Ascot three weeks ago. 6th (8) (15/8 +38%) Flight Radar |
15/8(+38%) | (8) Flight Radar 15/8, Very cheap purchase earlier this year but looks a bargain, confirming debut promise when winning 8-runner maiden at Redcar and following up easily in a 4-runner event at Catterick last month. Strong claims on handicap debut. Easy wins in last two qualifying runs and he's strongly respected on handicap debut. |

Consistency not his forte so others seemingly more solid. Two wins this summer but he's not easy to predict and the conditions are a concern here. |

8th (4) (15/2 -7%) Way To Dubai |
15/2(-7%) | (4) Way To Dubai 15/2, On a fair mark and back to form when fifth at Chester last time. Blinkers go back on and he can't be easily dismissed. 0-11 for current yard but he's on a dangerous mark and has possibilities back up in trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
FLIGHT RADAR hasn't looked back since his debut fourth at this venue in July, with ready victories at Redcar and Catterick since. An opening mark of 82 looks more than workable for Karl Burke's charge and a hat-trick could be on the cards. Fellow progressive three-year-old Myal also chases a third consecutive triumph and he may put up most resistance to the selection, ahead of Lord Bertie.
LORD BERTIE has been given a chance with his mark given he looked back to his best when scoring at Ascot recently and he may well be able to capitalise under conditions that look ideal. Unexposed pair Flight Radar and Myal are both obvious threats.
Several have possibilities but the two at the top of the list are the 3yo hat-trick seekers Flight Radar and MYAL.

SAY YES TO DREAMS can shed her maiden tag at the fourth time of asking. The Donnacha O'Brien-trained filly made a promising racecourse debut when runner-up at Naas in June. Connections clearly felt she warranted a run in a Listed race back at that same venue the following month and while she failed to get competitive, the daughter of Siyouni was far from disgraced. The form of her recent second placing, also at Naas, has been well advertised by both the third and fourth subsequently. Varner boasts a similar profile, shaping with promise in two maidens but finding the company too hot once stepped up to Group races. This represents her best chance to date. Fillies' Mile entrant Head To Head looks the pick of the two unraced Aidan O'Brien-trained representatives.
Aidan O'Brien saddles two potentially interesting debutantes in the shape of HEAD TO HEAD and Dramatic with preference for the former who is partnered by Wayne Lordan. Say Yes To Dreams and Varner rate much the pick of those with experience and can also have a say.
There was a lot to like about how HOLLYS GRACES travelled through her barrier trial and she is a speculative selection on debut.

2nd (12) (4/1 +50%) The Bitter Moose |
4/1(+50%) | (12) The Bitter Moose 4/1, C&D winner who ran below form when fourth of 10 in handicap (4/1) at Lingfield (7f, AW) 31 days ago, albeit left poorly placed. Visor on for 1st time. C&D winner; on a dangerous mark if the new headgear has a positive effect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (4/1 +11%) Mesaafi |
4/1(+11%) | (9) Mesaafi 4/1, Creditable third of 9 in handicap (4/1) at Kempton (6f) 30 days ago. Makes tapeta debut. Consistent rather than progressive; hopes pinned on the return to 7f squeezing out more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (12/1 +14%) Old Chums |
12/1(+14%) | (4) Old Chums 12/1, Course winner. 3 wins from 11 runs this year. Latest win at Chester in June. 11/1, last of 9 in handicap at Kempton (6f) 30 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. On a fair mark but he's been well beaten in three runs since a Chester win in June. |

5th (1) (7/4 +22%) Dutch Kingdom |
7/4(+22%) | (1) Dutch Kingdom 7/4, Resumed progress/winning ways in 13-runner handicap (8/1) at Chelmsford City (7f) 8 days ago, quickening clear. Has obvious claims under a penalty. Record in Class 5 AW handicaps reads -161111; well in under penalty for latest; big chance. |

11/1(-47%) | (5) Roaring Ralph 11/1, C&D winner. Latest win at Southwell in September. 6/1, fifth of 7 in handicap at this C&D 18 days ago. Won 2 of his last 4; not at best here last time though and others appeal more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (12/1 +14%) Flatley |
12/1(+14%) | (8) Flatley 12/1, C&D winner. Latest win at Newbury in July. Eighth of 9 in handicap at Sandown (10f, good, 28/1) 28 days ago, racing too keenly. Back down in trip. Not taken lightly. Drawn wide on this drop back to 7f; headgear off today too and others look stronger. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (33/1 -106%) Triggered |
33/1(-106%) | (10) Triggered 33/1, C&D winner. Last of 10 in handicap (33/1) at Carlisle (5.8f, good to soft) 53 days ago. Back up in trip. Conditions to suit & on handy mark; latest run not the one to judge him on; not dismissed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (20/1 -100%) Exponista |
20/1(-100%) | (3) Exponista 20/1, Sixth of 8 in handicap (9/1) at Nottingham (6.1f, good) 45 days ago. Tongue strap on for 1st time. Dropping in the weights and now tongue tied; stamina for 7f still not assured. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Mesaafi produced a fair effort to make the frame over 6f at Kempton and the step back up in trip shouldn't pose him any problems, so he is one to note. However, DUTCH KINGDOM looks the way to go. Darryll Holland's four-year-old struck in convincing style in this grade at Chelmsford eight days ago and he should prove hard to beat in his follow-up bid, despite carrying a 5lb penalty. The Bitter Moose is another to note in a first-time visor.
DUTCH KINGDOM quickened clear in good style at Chelmsford last week and is the percentage call to follow up under a penalty. Ultramarine is better judged on his previous form having been left poorly placed on his most recent outing over C&D, while others to consider are Shaw Park and Flatley.
Ultramarine is better than he showed last time but DUTCH KINGDOM (nap) can further enhance his fine record in Class 5 AW handicaps.

25/1(-79%) | (12) Sunset Nova 25/1, 6-time course winner. 28/1, tenth of 13 in handicap at this C&D 7 days ago. Been below form last number of starts and need to see more spark before supporting. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
A six-time winner in Britain, including three times on the all-weather, VIVA VOCE can gain a first win in this country. The Tom McGuinness-trained seven-year-old has taken time to find his feet but shaped much better in recent starts. From a mark of 51, the Intense Focus gelding has to be very competitive under Jack Cleary. Third over C&D last Friday, Thompson Gunner should again be a contender. A son of Highland Reel, the three-year-old is a lightly-raced gelding with the scope to improve further on just his third handicap run. Twice successful here earlier in the year, Aisling Oscar could be a horse that finds some improvement now that he reverts to the Polytrack for the first time since March.
CHURCH MOUNTAIN has run well at Cork and Punchestown in recent weeks and might prove the answer to the first division of this 1m handicap. Royal Tribute, a fine second at Bellewstown last month, Viva Voce and Thompson Gunner head the dangers.
Having bumped into the rapidly improving Marble Angel over C&D last week, THOMPSON GUNNER is unlikely to meet a similar rival.

18/1(-200%) | (4) Glamorous Breeze 18/1, Didn't need to improve to win 8-runner handicap in cosy fashion at Bath (5f, good, 2/1) 13 days ago. 4th (10) (9/2 +50%) Catch Cunningham |
9/2(+50%) | (10) Catch Cunningham 9/2, Bounced back from a couple of lesser efforts when winning over C&D in September and ran respectably returned to a higher grade when third of 9 to Grace Angel in handicap at Yarmouth (5.2f, good to firm, 13/2) 10 days ago. Three wins this year, the latest over C&D this month; over 2l behind Grace Angel latest. |

7th (9) (14/1 +0%) Aidan Andabettin |
14/1(+0%) | (9) Aidan Andabettin 14/1, Ran out an impressive winner over C&D in July. Possibly found race coming too soon when below form back here 6 days later and can easily stick a line through his latest effort given he's unproven on turf. C&D win in July may flatter him; even if it doesn't, he'll need a career best to win here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (11) (20/1 -186%) Cast No Shadow |
20/1(-186%) | (11) Cast No Shadow 20/1, Bounced back to form to win 10-runner handicap at Newcastle (5f, 6/1) in June. Resumes from a 3-month break only 2 lb higher. Two Newcastle wins this year; up in class after a break and has other pace to deal with. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
GRACE ANGEL beat Catch Cunningham (third) when scoring in smart fashion in this grade at Yarmouth last time and she is expected to confirm that form. The daughter of Harry Angel is a previous C&D winner and looks well placed to go in again. Glamorous Breeze justified favouritism at Bath earlier in the month and she should mount a bold bid off 3lb higher, while Cast No Shadow is another to watch out for.
GRACE ANGEL proved as good as ever when resuming winning ways in ready fashion at Yarmouth last week and gets the nod to follow up under a 5-lb penalty. Navello looks to be coming to the boil again and is second choice, with Mini Magna completing the shortlist.
This should be well run and NAVELLO, who boasts a good record here, could be the answer. Grace Angel looks best of the rest.

Not easy to make a case for. Poor on handicap debut last time but that was on soft; can be more competitive today. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
The hat-trick seeking MARBLE ANGEL is difficult to oppose under apprentice championship leader Wayne Hassett. Winner of her last two starts over C&D, the Andy Oliver-trained filly is only 2lb higher than her last success once taking the jockey's claim into account. While the daughter of Harry Angel could have done with a kinder draw, Hassett has plenty of time to get her across from her outside berth. Special Angel, who finished runner-up to the selection on her penultimate start, went one better at Tipperary subsequently. At these revised weights, the Adrian Murray-trained filly has it all to do. Higher Kingdom, a winner off much loftier marks earlier in his career, would be a definite threat if ready after an absence.
COMFORT LINE rates just the pick of these weights so edges the vote in this very open handicap. Rock Etoile heads the list of dangers on the back of his recent Gowran victory, with Hope And Innnocence, Marble Angel and Special Angel all well in the mix too.
Though penalised 7lb for her second C&D win last week, MARBLE ANGEL is still progressive and can bring up the three-timer.

1st (3) (5/2 +50%) War Chant |
5/2(+50%) | (3) War Chant 5/2, Confirmed promise of reappearance when successful at Nottingham in June. Creditable efforts both subsequent outings, sixth of 13 in handicap at Kempton (8f, 12/1) 11 days ago. Has to be taken seriously on tapeta debut. Good record on turf and recent AW debut was promising; should be sharper today. |

2nd (5) (6/1 -20%) Invincible Aura |
6/1(-20%) | (5) Invincible Aura 6/1, Doubled his tally when scoring at Kempton in August. Failed to repeat that effort when tenth of 16 in handicap at Newbury (7f, good to firm, 50/1) 29 days ago, but no surprise to see him bounce back returned to all-weather. Looks a better horse on AW and this mark probably still in range around here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (9/1 +25%) Visibility |
9/1(+25%) | (7) Visibility 9/1, Five-time course winner. Soon left behind a below-par run when fourth of 12 in handicap at Pontefract (8f, good to firm, 50/1) 8 days ago. Task is now to build on his latest effort. On a winning mark and he ran well in a stronger race at Pontefract last week; e-w shout. |

4th (6) (11/8 +15%) Bullet Point |
11/8(+15%) | (6) Bullet Point 11/8, Upped in trip, ran to similar level as previously when fourth of 9 in novice at Windsor (8.1f, good to firm, 11/2) 74 days ago. Could yet do better as he makes handicap debut (has been gelded). Looks a likely improver now handicapping after a gelding operation. |

Eyeshields on 1st time. Has to bounce back from two modest Kempton runs; new headgear; capable but risky. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (25/1 -257%) Nogradi |
25/1(-257%) | (8) Nogradi 25/1, Took a step forward on his qualifying run when third of 6 in novice at Ripon (8f, good to firm, 33/1) 47 days ago. Bred to be suited by all-weather, so he's an interesting contender as he makes handicap debut. Unexposed and he's improved with each run; needs more switched to AW but it's possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (40/1 -100%) It's A Love Thing |
40/1(-100%) | (4) It's A Love Thing 40/1, Winner of 2 races on the Flat last year, including at this course (9.5f). However, after 5 months off (had wind op) he showed little when last of 10 in handicap (40/1) at this C&D 18 days ago. Tongue strap now added. Reportedly made a respiratory noise when tailed off here 18 days ago; now tongue tied. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
BULLET POINT has shown a fair amount of ability in his three starts to date, including when finishing fourth at Windsor in July. William Haggas' three-year-old has been gelded since that effort and he might prove a different proposition now stepping up in trip on his handicap debut off an opening mark of 75. Faro Di Notte put in a disappointing display at Sandown last time, but she can forgiven because of the soft ground on that occasion and she could get closer now back on the all-weather. War Chant completes the shortlist.
WAR CHANT has taken his form up a notch this season, winning at Nottingham in June before running to a similar level both starts since, so he can continue his good spell to add to his tally. Bullet Point is feared most with better still to come as he goes handicapping for his leading yard, ahead of Invincible Aura.
War Chant is respected with a recent run behind him but INVINCIBLE AURA can progress again back on the AW.

9/1(-80%) | (9) Bellezza 9/1, Useful filly. 25/1 and blinkered for 1st time, 7¼ lengths last of 9 to Hanalia in Blandford Stakes at the Curragh (10f, good) 12 days ago. This appeals as a more suitable assignment with blinkers left off. Outclassed in Group 2 on latest, this much more suitable, chance if acts on the track. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (10) (15/2 +17%) Madam Celeste |
15/2(+17%) | (10) Madam Celeste 15/2, Lightly-raced course winner. 13½ lengths twelfth of 14 to You Got To Me in Irish Oaks (40/1) at the Curragh (12f, good to firm) 69 days ago. Sights quickly lowered here and feasible to think she will yet do better on the back of just 4 career starts. Out of depth in the Oaks, 2.5l behind Bellezza in a Listed heat at Naas, interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (9/4 +55%) Platoon |
9/4(+55%) | (7) Platoon 9/4, Makes plenty of appeal on paper and proved uncomplicated in making a winning debut in 11-runner maiden at Leopardstown 91m) 5 weeks ago, soon in front and always holding on. Bred to stay at least this far and respected quickly up in grade. Won over 1m at Leopardstown, dam won twice here, up in trip and class, chance on AW debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (9/2 +59%) Ameerat Jumaira |
9/2(+59%) | (4) Ameerat Jumaira 9/2, Fairly useful filly. C&D winner. 2 wins from 5 runs this year. 16/1, creditable sixth of 22 in handicap at Leopardstown (13f, good) 13 days ago. Yard having good spell but more on her plate on first foray in to listed company. Beat Star Harbour over C&D last month, much worse off at weights now, has a bit to find. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (6/1 +0%) Star Harbour |
6/1(+0%) | (1) Star Harbour 6/1, Smart gelding. 3 wins from 11 runs this year. Didn't need to be at best when winning 4-runner minor event (4/5) at Punchestown (9.2f, good) 10 days ago, quickening to lead dying strides. Well worth considering. Won three of last five, narrowly beaten over C&D last month, 0-12 on AW but can't discount. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (5/1 +33%) Take Heart |
5/1(+33%) | (2) Take Heart 5/1, Useful gelding. Course winner. Latest win at Goodwood in July. Tenth of 14 in handicap (9/4) at the Curragh (10f, good) 12 days ago, weakening final 1f having taken a strong hold. Cheekpieces discarded and he's in with a shout. Won a nice pot at Goodwood in July off 95, won a 1m maiden here last year, not out of this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (25/1 -178%) Thalara |
25/1(-178%) | (8) Thalara 25/1, First run since leaving K. J. Condon when 5/1, won 16-runner maiden at Gowran (9.5f) in June, driven clear. This asks another question but likely she has more to offer. Back from absence with 9.5f maiden win at Gowran, up in trip for AW debut, not dismissed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (66/1 -100%) Fiver Friday |
66/1(-100%) | (6) Fiver Friday 66/1, Enjoying a fine season and resumed winning ways in a race run to suit at Naas (10.4f) in August. Stamina stretched when fifth of 8 in handicap (11/2) at Ayr (13.1f, good to firm) 6 days ago but this looks a tall ask. Won handicap off 84 at Naas, beaten off revised mark at Ayr, this is ambitious, AW debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (8/1 -100%) Bright Stripes |
8/1(-100%) | (3) Bright Stripes 8/1, Useful colt. Tongue strap on for 1st time, 3¼ lengths seventh of 11 to Diego Velazquez in Solonaway Stakes at Leopardstown (8f, good, 80/1) 13 days ago. Drop back down in class in his favour on polytrack debut. Running with credit in Gr 2s and Gr 3s, won his last Listed start, AW debut, chance. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Although yet to race on the all-weather, BRIGHT STRIPES sets a fair standard in this Listed contest. Group 2 placed as a juvenile last season, the Andy Oliver-trained colt won at this grade at the Curragh earlier in the campaign, while he was far from disgraced in stronger company at Leopardstown on Champions Weekend. Bellezza proved rather disappointing at the Curragh earlier this month but that was almost certainly not her true form. On earlier efforts, the Ger Lyons-trained filly would hold every chance in a race such as this. Leopardstown maiden winner Platoon takes a steep rise in class here but the Aidan O'Brien-trained colt is clearly thought capable of making his presence felt on his second career start.
STAR HARBOUR has been operating at the top of his game in recent months, making it 3 wins from his last 6 starts at Punchestown 10 days ago so, in an open-looking race of it's type, he could be the way to go. Leopardstown debut winner Platoon is open to any amount of improvement and is next best ahead of class-dropping pair Bellezza and Bright Stripes.
A chance is taken on MADAM CELESTE. She was a shade unlucky when behind Bellezza at Naas and she could turn that form around.

1st (5) (9/2 +40%) Ajdayet |
9/2(+40%) | (5) Ajdayet 9/2, Upped in trip, failed to progress on handicap debut when fourth of 7 at Newmarket (10f, good, 11/1) 49 days ago. Needs to get back on the up having been gelded ahead of his first start on all-weather. Has shown promise; gelded since handicap debut and that could make a difference. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (11/4 +8%) Rosenzoo |
11/4(+8%) | (4) Rosenzoo 11/4, Doubled his tally for the season at this course in July and, after a couple of lesser efforts, ran at least as well when second of 9 in handicap here (9.5f, 13/2) 6 days ago. Merits consideration at this venue. Had lost his way but back on track behind an improver here last week (9.4f);. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (6/1 -50%) Onslow Gardens |
6/1(-50%) | (2) Onslow Gardens 6/1, Following another 4-month absence, ran best race since his 2-y-o days when fifth of 13 in handicap at Kempton (8f, 66/1) 11 days ago, nearest finish. Needs to find more again as he switches to tapeta. Stopped the rot with a closing fifth at Kempton and that was after 121 days away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (28/1 -40%) Golspie |
28/1(-40%) | (3) Golspie 28/1, After a further 3 months off (gelded), went backwards from his seasonal/stable debut when tenth of 11 in handicap at Newcastle (10.2f, 50/1) 36 days ago. Cheekpieces back on but others more persuasive. Maiden winner; some handicap form reads well but not last time after a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (10/3 -33%) Bernalda |
10/3(-33%) | (6) Bernalda 10/3, Has been going the right way in her 4 starts so far, running well on handicap debut when third of 9 at Newmarket (7f, good, 4/1) 35 days ago. Not taken lightly as she goes up in trip on all-weather debut. Well-bred filly; lightly raced and closing third on handicap debut over 7f at Newmarket. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (25/1 -25%) Destinado |
25/1(-25%) | (8) Destinado 25/1, Six wins from 18 runs this year, with latest success at Musselburgh in April. However, slowly away and well held last 2 starts, last of 13 in handicap at Southwell (12.1f, 33/1) 40 days ago. Headgear left off back down in trip. Inconsistent seven-time winner; has finished tailed off in two runs after a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (7/2 +0%) Atlantis Blue |
7/2(+0%) | (1) Atlantis Blue 7/2, Made it back-to-back wins when scoring at Windsor in July. Shaped well under a penalty when fourth of 12 in handicap at Sandown (8f, good, 5/1) 50 days ago, left with too much to do. Leading contender. Has found improvement on her last three starts and the return to AW shouldn't trouble her. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Atlantis Blue's hat-trick bid may have ended in failure at Sandown but there were legitimate excuses, although a further 2lb rise does ask more questions of her. Rosenzoo rediscovered some form to take second here last weekend and is out again before his revised mark comes into effect. Ajdayet has been gelded since his handicap-debut fourth at Newmarket, but BERNALDA made a much more encouraging first foray outside of maiden/novice company when a close-up third at the same track and she gets the nod.
With the hood reapplied, ATLANTIS BLUE has proved as good as ever on her last 3 starts, doing well under the circumstances (blindfold removed late leaving the stalls) when fourth at Sandown on her latest outing. She is taken to resume winning ways, though the progressive Bernalda is respected on her all-weather debut. Rosenzoo could also be in the mix.
The well-bred Frankel filly BERNALDA surely has better days ahead of her and Newmarket last time was encouraging.

1st (3) (11/8 +50%) Ridhaz |
11/8(+50%) | (3) Ridhaz 11/8, Winner at Leopardstown in May. Good fourth of 9 in handicap (11/4) at this C&D 43 days ago, no extra only late on. This rates less demanding from his reduced mark and very much one to consider. Gelded after a 2.5l fourth over C&D 43 days ago off 87, has to be considered off 5lb lower. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (5/1 -50%) Ozark Daze |
5/1(-50%) | (5) Ozark Daze 5/1, Tongue strap on for 1st time, creditable 1½ lengths third of 9 to Psalm in maiden at this C&D (6/1) 7 days ago, never nearer. Return to handicaps in his favour but his record in recent months has been a little patchy. Improved in tongue tie (retained) here when 1.5l behind Psalm; 11lb better off at weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (12/1 -118%) Natural Ruler |
12/1(-118%) | (4) Natural Ruler 12/1, 11/4, career best when winning 6-runner handicap at Fairyhouse (12f, good) in June, staying on to lead close home. Unlikely we've seen all he has to offer on that evidence but drop in trip may not suit ideally here. First win on latest at Fairyhouse off 75, up 6lb, gelded, not sure this trip will suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (7/2 -17%) Psalm |
7/2(-17%) | (1) Psalm 7/2, Fairly useful colt. Career best when winning 9-runner maiden at this C&D (10/3) 7 days ago, always holding on under a well-judged ride. Can remain competitive back in handicaps from reduced mark. Off the mark in C&D maiden last week, now switches to handicaps, should go well again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (9/1 +25%) Enough Already |
9/1(+25%) | (8) Enough Already 9/1, Eleven runs since last win in 2023. 13/2, not seen to best effect when sixth of 10 in handicap at Laytown (6f) 11 days ago, never nearer. Significant step back up in trip in his favour and he's another who has dropped to a lenient mark. Three-time AW winner in England off higher marks, trip too sharp latest, interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (6/1 -20%) Gibbs Island |
6/1(-20%) | (2) Gibbs Island 6/1, Creditable fifth of 16 in handicap (7/1) at Navan (8.1f, good) 29 days ago. Significantly back up in trip. Makes polytrack debut. Can give a good account again. Not beaten far off this mark at Navan latest, stays this far and can't discount; AW debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (50/1 -317%) Annexation |
50/1(-317%) | (6) Annexation 50/1, Course winner. Latest win at Gowran in April. Bit below form eighth of 16 in handicap at Navan (8.1f, good, 14/1) 29 days ago, never better than midfield. Remains on a workable mark. Won here off 76 in January 2022, on a good mark and shaped ok on latest, each way claims. |

8th (7) (66/1 -313%) Yes Oui Si |
66/1(-313%) | (7) Yes Oui Si 66/1, Cheekpieces on for 1st time, ninth of 14 in maiden at Punchestown (9.2f, good, 8/1) 10 days ago. Tongue strap on 1st time. Makes handicap debut. Handicap and AW debutante, tongue tie added to cheekpieces, others appeal more. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Michael Halford and Tracey Collins could have the answer here in the shape of RIDHAZ. Sent off favourite when fourth in the Red God Premier Handicap over C&D last month, the form of that race has worked out really well subsequently. Winner of a Leopardstown maiden in May, the Iffraaj gelding is relatively unexposed on this surface. Ozark Daze, a staying on third behind Psalm in a maiden here last week, has every chance of reversing that form on revised terms. The maiden in which he finished runner-up here back in April has thrown up plenty of winners. The aforementioned Psalm took an age to get his head in front but the Aidan O'Brien-trained colt could be one that improves now he has managed to win a race.
This rates less demanding than the race RIDHAZ contested when fourth over C&D 6 weeks ago and he could well be up to building on that effort having eased a little in the weights ahead of this. Psalm may yet have more to offer in handicaps now he's off the mark and is respected, whilst Enough Already is an intriguing contender at the foot of the weights.
Andrew Oliver's OZARK DAZE was 1.5l behind Psalm last time and an 11lb swing may enable him to turn the form around.

1st (3) (4/1 +43%) Sea Of Charm |
4/1(+43%) | (3) Sea Of Charm 4/1, C&D winner. Two wins from 43 Flat runs. Thirteen runs since last win in 2023. 10/1, creditable sixth of 13 in handicap at Bath (11.6f, good) 13 days ago. 2-44; not running too badly but others are of greater interest for win purposes. |

2nd (6) (6/1 +0%) Forest Spirit |
6/1(+0%) | (6) Forest Spirit 6/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Eighth of 12 in novice at Kempton (8f, 250/1). Off 6 months. Bred to be better than this mark and is worth chancing to improve markedly for the switch to handicaps up in distance. Goes handicapping at a lowly level and she's entitled to show more; market helpful. |

3rd (8) (4/1 +33%) Sassy Glory |
4/1(+33%) | (8) Sassy Glory 4/1, 17/2, very good second of 15 in handicap at Thirsk (12f, good) 11 days ago, no match for winner. Enters calculations. Stepped up to 1m4f the last twice and found only one too good at Thirsk 11 days ago. |

4th (5) (11/1 -38%) Bay Of Naples |
11/1(-38%) | (5) Bay Of Naples 11/1, Course winner. Twelve runs since last win in 2023. 7/1, creditable third of 10 in handicap at this C&D 42 days ago. Should give another good account. Infrequent winner these days but he did make the frame here last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (11/1 -175%) Lost In Time |
11/1(-175%) | (4) Lost In Time 11/1, Thirteen runs since last win in 2023. 4/1, good second of 11 in handicap at Lingfield (10f, AW) 17 days ago. Back up in trip. Likely to be thereabouts. Strike-rate of 3-48 so not the easiest to win with but he's been runner-up the last twice. |

6th (7) (33/1 -32%) Namrud |
33/1(-32%) | (7) Namrud 33/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Tongue strap on for 1st time, last of 12 in handicap (25/1) at Yarmouth (10.1f, good to soft) 79 days ago. Up in trip. Plenty to find on form. Again very quiet on handicap debut (1m2f; 25-1) and lots to prove after that run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (18/1 -29%) Catrake Force |
18/1(-29%) | (2) Catrake Force 18/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 50/1, respectable sixth of 14 in handicap at Newcastle (8f) 15 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Five defeats include two handicaps; needs improvement for this longer trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (15/8 -15%) Darkzideofthemoon |
15/8(-15%) | (1) Darkzideofthemoon 15/8, 5/2 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, good second of 10 in handicap at Kempton (11f) 11 days ago, clear of rest. Strong claims. Ran in snatches but kept at it to push a well-treated winner close at Kempton (1m3f). |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
DARKZIDEOFTHEMOON was freshened up after an improved second at Kempton and he stepped forward again to occupy the same position there last week. He has been raised 2lb but that doesn't come into effect until after this assignment so he can capitalise. Sassy Glory is also 2lb well-in following her recent Thirsk second and she didn't perform badly at this venue before that. Lost In Time has been knocking on the door, and Bay Of Naples shouldn't be far away. Expect improvement from Forest Spirit too.
FOREST SPIRIT is bred to be well suited by the step up in distance and, in theory, should be much better than an opening mark of 57 so, for all that she's not shown a great deal to this point, she's worth chancing to get the better of Darkzideofthemoon, who arrives on the back of an excellent second at Kempton. Sassy Glory also makes the shortlist.
Forest Spirit is interesting but DARKZIDEOFTHEMOON only narrowly failed to justify favouritism at Kempton.

9/1(-38%) | (2) Areana 9/1, 5/1, respectable fourth of 14 in handicap at this C&D. Off 7 months. First run for yard after leaving Denis Hogan. Can give a good account. Ran respectably on all four starts here last winter; if he can match that form has a shout. |

25/1(-79%) | (12) Sunny Dude 25/1, Below form fifth of 9 in maiden at Tramore (12f, good to soft, 125/1) 41 days ago. Not easy to make a case for. Ran respectably in defeat at this track last winter but below that level on turf lately. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Making her debut for trainer Conor Maxwell, AREANA can gain a first career success. A strong traveller, who was placed twice for Denis Hogan, the daughter of Pride Of Dubai ran her best race here last season over this trip. On the assumption that she is fit enough on this first start since February, the five-year-old gets the vote. Placed on his last two runs at this track, Epaulawn holds claims for trainer Noel Hynds. The six-year-old moved well through his race last week before finding less than expected. A consistent gelding, he should be able to win in this grade at some point in the coming weeks. Waystar drops back in trip now having stayed on strongly at Navan last time. If she can lie up in the initial stages, the John McConnell-trained filly should be involved.
Lots with chances. LADY KAI rates the pick of these weights nudged up only 1 lb for her excellent Navan fourth so looks the way to go. Stepdance heads the list of dangers on the back of her solid recent fifth here, although a good case can also be made for Figurehead, Epaulawn and Areana.
Preference is for WAYSTAR who might not have stayed 1m6f at Navan last time and her earlier form is very sound.

10/1(-67%) | (5) Black Smoke 10/1, 22/1, career best when winning 10-runner handicap at this course (14f) 20 days ago. 3 lb rise is hardly the end of the world and he merits respect. Recent C&D winner but hasn't always followed one good run with another. |

4th (4) (6/1 -9%) Beau Vintage |
6/1(-9%) | (4) Beau Vintage 6/1, Creditable second of 10 in handicap at Kempton (12f, 8/1), running on. Off 128 days and likely to find one or two too good. Runner-up in two of his last three races and 1m6f should be within range for him. |

5th (1) (7/1 +36%) V Power |
7/1(+36%) | (1) V Power 7/1, 12/1, first run since leaving Deborah Faulkner when respectable third of 8 in handicap at Chester (12.3f, soft) 13 days ago. Makes tapeta debut and will need to raise his game if he's to take this. Worth another go at this trip but he needs to get back near his best. |

6th (3) (14/1 -75%) Atalanta Breeze |
14/1(-75%) | (3) Atalanta Breeze 14/1, C&D winner. Eleven runs since last win in 2022. Creditable second of 8 in handicap (7/2) at Haydock (11.6f, good) 22 days ago. Back up in trip and she has to enter calculations. C&D winner and latest second over too short a trip was encouraging. |

7th (6) (9/1 +50%) Rock City Falls |
9/1(+50%) | (6) Rock City Falls 9/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 16/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, last of 10 in handicap at Hamilton (13.1f, soft) 23 days ago. Tongue strap on 1st time. Others preferred. Heavy ground no good last time but plenty of guesswork involved to make a case. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
APOSTLE may have been turned over at odds-on at Salisbury, but the winner has since performed well in a class 2 contest and Sir Mark Prescott's filly can get back on track now returned to the all-weather. There was no fluke about Black Smoke's surprise C&D success, while fellow track-and-trip winner Atalanta Breeze is back down to a handy mark. Beau Vintage surely won't remain a maiden for too much longer, and Gold Aura and V Power should have races in them before too long as well.
APOSTLE failed to supplement her Chelmsford breakthrough success when sent off odds-on for a Salisbury handicap last time, but she lost little caste in defeat all the same and there should be better to come from this lightly-raced filly. Gold Aura gets the nod for forecast purposes ahead of Black Smoke.
Sir Mark Prescott's APOSTLE was perhaps unsuited by the fast ground when beaten at Salisbury and this could be more her scene.
Ths is the racecard key.
