14:00 Listowel Conditions Hurdle 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Capable Flat performer ACTION PLAN ran well on his hurdling debut recently at Ballinrobe, where he finished his race nicely against more experienced rivals and is likely to improve for that experience. Gordon Elliott's Zaynab is an interesting hurdling recruit as the trainer won last year's renewal with Wodhhoh. Joseph O'Brien has won four of this season's six juvenile races, so Teriferma has to be noted.

TERIFERMA looks a useful early-season juvenile and can make it 3-3 over hurdles with further improvement likely, although a strong market move for Gordon Elliott hurdle newcomer Zaynab would put a slightly different slant on things. Action Plan was a promising third on his recent hurdle and should also play a prominent role.

Gordon Elliott's ZAYNAB is noteworthy as a dual Flat winner and half-sister to the talented Zanahiyr. She gets 17lb from Teriferma

14:12 Hamilton Maiden (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

LIBERATUS was green when he finished sixth on his debut over a mile at Ripon last month, but he should have learned a lot from that outing and it would be no surprise if he found the necessary improvement to land the spoils. The Lost Canvas finished one place ahead of the selection in the aforementioned contest and he should be thereabouts once more, while Miss Lalita completes the shortlist having caught the eye when staying on into fourth over 7f at Newcastle first time out.

MISS LALITA showed enough at Newcastle on debut to suggest she can take this weak maiden. Liberatus and The Lost Canvas also showed a bit first-time out so rate the main threats.

Slight preference is for THE LOST CANVAS, who finished nearly 2l in front of Liberatus when they made their debuts at Ripon.

14:20 Plumpton Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 20f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

DAMEOFTHECOTSWOLDS continues to find a few too strong, but Nigel Twiston-Davies' filly will not get a better opportunity to get off the mark. It was one of her better efforts when second at Worcester earlier this month and while a few of these have a bit to prove, a similar level of performance might suffice. Zarhanya and Brave Jen are others to consider.

A reproduction of the form DAMEOFTHECOTSWOLDS showed when second at Worcester recently will probably be good enough to see her get off the mark. The chief threat may come from hurdle newcomer Zarhanya, who stayed on late for seventh in a big-field Cheltenham bumper in the spring and this longer trip should suit her now jumping.

Nigel Twiston-Davies' DAMEOFTHECOTSWOLDS was unable to justify favouritism at Worcester last week but can be given another chance.

14:30 Listowel Conditions Hurdle 20f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

WORLD OF FORTUNES has good bumper form and should progress from her recent winning hurdling debut. A jumping error at halfway slowed her momentum, but she eventually scooted clear to win well. Paggane has ability but is open to less progression than the selection and would also prefer a stiffer stamina test. Disco Dancer needs to improve to win in this company.

PAGGANE has the best form and can provide Wille Mullins with a third success in the last 4 runnings of this mares' event. Disco Dancer can give the selection most to think about ahead of last month's hurdle debut scorer World of Fortunes.

Bumper winner WORLD OF FORTUNES made a winning introduction to hurdles over 3m at Wexford and may cope with this rise in class

14:42 Hamilton Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

ROYAL DUKE hasn't cut much ice in handicaps recently, but his recent runner-up effort in a Musselburgh novice over 5f was an eye-catching display. Though this mark has proved beyond him in the past, he looks to have turned a corner and gets the vote to score now returning to handicap company. Kyber Crystal has been busy lately and, after shaping like she was still in form when third at Musselburgh last week, she can emerge as the main danger to the selection. Jack Of Clubs is also respected off 2lb higher than his last winning mark.

JACK OF CLUBS signalled he is ready to go in again when fourth at Carlisle last time so gets the vote off a 1 lb lower mark here. The reliable Kyber Crystal seems sure to be on the premises once more, while Royal Duke can have a big say if able to back up his improved recent Mussielburgh second.

Judged on current form and other factors, KYBER CRYSTAL looks more solid than most of her rivals. Cuban Rock is second choice.

14:50 Plumpton Handicap Chase (Class 5) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BELGARUM could hardly have been more impressive when bolting up over an extended 2m5f at Fontwell last month. Joe Tizzard's gelding isn't fully exposed over the larger obstacles, so a 10lb hike looks manageable. Invictus De Brion finished well behind in third that day, but is 11lb better off now and first-time cheekpieces could spark some improvement. Almost Gotaway is also noted.

BELGARUM is an obvious selection in this field after his facile success at Fontwell last time. Invictus de Brion was third in that contest and can make the placings again with chase experience now under his belt, with Almost Gotaway a modest pick for third.

The pick is winning pointer LUNAR CONTACT, who might have needed his recent hurdle run and now makes his chase debut from a good mark.

15:00 Listowel Handicap Hurdle 18f  (See Seed Six) Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

STRAIGHT HOME was well enough held on her first run for new connections last month but shaped as though she might improve stepping up in distance. Today's extra yardage should help and she is 7lb better off with the winner that day Stormalong. La Hacienda hasn't fully transferred her Flat form to hurdling but nonetheless was a Sligo winner in July and should again compete from her manageable rating.

STRAIGHT HOME was unable to land a gamble starting out for this yard when third at Tramore but it was still an improved effort and she can make amends over this longer trip. Katherine arrives on the back of an emphatic win at Kilbeggan so is feared most ahead of Ask Cillian, who showed improved form when off the mark at Killarney.

There was strong market support for STRAIGHT HOME at Tramore. She may reverse form with Stormalong on altered terms

15:12 Hamilton Seller (Class 4) 11f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

KINGSLEY PRIDE showed a likeable attitude when winning readily under this rider over an extended 1m4f at Musselburgh last week and, easing slightly in trip, he looks the one to side with. Bay Dream Believer was thwarted in her hat-trick bid when third over 1m2f at Beverley last month, but she shaped like she was still in form on that occasion and must enter calculations in a race of this nature. Though his recent form leaves something to be desired, Dr Foster is also respected with cheekpieces reapplied.

BAY DREAM BELIEVER comes here in top form and is fancied to quickly resume winning ways on the back of her excellent Beverley handicap third. Midnight Lion should strip fitter for his recent Musselburgh fourth so could emerge as the main danger to Mark Walford's mare, with Dr Foster and Kingsley Pride also in the picture if bringing their respective A-games.

Assuming he's back to form, this looks a good opportunity for DR FOSTER to double his tally. Kingsley Pride is second choice.

15:20 Plumpton Conditions Hurdle (Class 4) 18f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Character Testing was the highest rated of these on the Flat and finished a respectable third on his hurdles/stable bow at Fontwell last month. He can progress now, but it is ROGUE KING that shades preference. In decent form on the level, he filled the runner-up spot over timber at Stratford in July and is the one to beat on that evidence. Gary and Josh Moore often do well around here, so Our Papa Smurf warrants a market check.

ROGUE KING has been in good form since the application of a visor, showing promise when runner-up at Stratford on his hurdling debut in July, so he is taken to go one better this time around. Character Testing also has the benefit of hurdling experience and could be the biggest threat, ahead of Little Venice.

After running a big race in defeat on his hurdling debut, ROGUE KING appears to have been found a very good opportunity here.

15:30 Listowel Maiden Hurdle 22f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

JASKO DES DAMES disappointed twice in April but ran nicely behind some smart types at the Galway Festival, where he finished ahead of subsequent winners. Keen-going Uncle Pat also ran satisfactorily at Galway and more recently at Kilbeggan. Will Wilde was reported to have made a noise in running at Cork in January but had previously won at Sligo. Bumper winner Ballysax Hank has plenty of size for hurdling.

UNCLE PAT holds the edge on form and with this drop back in trip also rating a plus he is fancied to gain a first win in this sphere. Jasko Des Dames rates much the biggest threat on the back of his good Galway fifth last time out, with Fast Felix appealing as the pick of the rest for place purposes.

The one to beat is JASKO DES DAMES, whose maiden hurdle form is the best on display but has to prove himself over this trip

15:42 Hamilton Handicap (Class 4) 6f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Powerdress bounced back to form when accounting for her nearest rival by half a length at Kempton last time and provided she can transfer that form to turf, she ought to go close. However, MIDNIGHT AFFAIR looks the way to go. Richard Fahey's three-year-old made the frame in a deeper event than this at Thirsk earlier in the month and she was kindly dropped 1lb for that display. If she can run to a similar level, she could prove very hard to beat. Last-time-out winner Nariko is another to note.

There could be more to come from lightly-raced 3-y-o NARIKO, who can make light of a 7 lb rise for her win a very competitive race at Haydock in the spring and deny Iris Dancer a third successive win in this race. Recent Kempton scorer Powerdress completes the shortlist.

Hamilton specialist IRIS DANCER is taken to complete a hat-trick of wins in this race. Powerdress is second choice.

15:50 Plumpton Handicap Hurdle (Class 3) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

KING'S CASTLE's sparkling run of form was halted possibly momentarily when taking the silver medal home at Perth on his latest outing. Prior to that display, he recorded four victories in a row and the seven-year-old may not have finished his progression just yet. Rewired failed to land a blow in a warmer event last time, but he could get closer off a 1lb lower mark. Of the remainder, Donnie Azoff makes the most appeal after his fifth at Worcester.

The thriving KING'S CASTLE has had the form of his latest Perth second boosted by the winner since and can gain a fifth success of the season. Junkanoo took well to hurdling last season and should be all the sharper for a recent spin on the Flat. Enthused is another likely to have a say.

A C&D novice winner last season, JUNKANOO gets the vote in this hope his recent Flat run has brought him on.

16:00 Listowel Maiden Chase 18f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

A four-time winner in France, JORDANS catches the eye on his debut for Joseph O'Brien. Runner-up over fences at Pau in January, the five-year-old has the potential to make up into a decent novice in the coming months. It is surely significant that JJ Slevin has elected to ride the son of Coastal Path rather than stablemate San Salvador. The latter, who won his maiden hurdle at this venue, would have been just about the best of these over flights. Although yet to reach those heights in four starts over fences, he has shaped well on a couple of occasions. Gua Du Large, a novice chase winner at Tramore on his penultimate start, has plenty of experience over fences. It would be no surprise to see the eight-year-old play a leading role.

JET SETTING JIM possesses much the best form on view so looks the way to go. San Salvador is feared most on the back of his resurgent Galway fourth, with in-form pair Gua du Large and Jazzy Matty also worthy of consideration.

French import JORDANS has chasing experience and may be equal to the task on his Irish debut. Jet Setting Jim rates a danger

16:12 Hamilton Handicap (Class 5) 9f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Epidavros beat She's Got Bottle (second) by just over a length at Carlisle earlier in the month and she can confirm that form to mount a bold bid off 4lb higher. However, the vote goes to four-time course winner SHINE ON BRENDAN, who finished a close-up fourth over 1m2f at Redcar last month and is off an unchanged rating. Jim Goldie's seven-year-old remains on an appealing mark and looks well placed to regain the winning thread.

EPIDAVROS was well placed when opening her account at Carlisle but she did it readily and looks capable of following up. 4-time course winner Shine On Brendan is feared most ahead of Naturalia.

Slight preference is for the 3yo EPIDAVROS ahead of Naturalia and She's Got Bottle.

16:20 Plumpton Handicap Chase (Class 4) 17f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Stormin Crossgales was denied by two lengths into second in this grade at Market Rasen in June and he should go well off a 6lb higher rating. However, it may pay to side with ALIEN STORM, who has run well off higher marks over hurdles and the son of Getaway might prove a different proposition over fences. Last-time-out winner Kauto The King is another to consider.

STORMIN CROSSGALES can go well fresh and may get the run of things in this small field. The in-form Kauto The King is the obvious threat.

This return to Plumpton is a big plus for chasing debutant ALIEN STORM, who is selected to exploit a favourable mark.

16:30 Listowel Handicap Chase 18f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

On a tight track such as this, JE T'AI PORTE could prove a hard mare to pass. The Gavin Cromwell-trained six-year-old gave an exhibition of jumping for the most part when runner-up at Ballinrobe last time. Only for an uncharacteristic mistake four out, she would have really made a much higher rated rival pull out all the stops. Back in handicap company here, she appears to hold strong claims. A maiden hurdle winner here earlier in his career, I A Connect should appreciate returning to this course. The nine-year-old is quite lightly raced over fences, so still has scope for improvement despite his age. Presenting Lad runs off a career high mark but having won his last three starts the Mark McNiff-trained gelding has to be respected.

I A CONNECT should be all the better for his recent Killarney fifth and is fancied to capitalise on an attractive mark now at the chief expense of Je T'Ai Porte who comes here on the back of a good Ballinrobe second. Handicap debutant Magic Tricks, a stablemate of the selection, is another who can have a say along with Kilbeggan-scorer Good As Hell.

16:42 Hamilton Handicap (Class 5) 6f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

IMPRESSOR has been knocking on the door at class 4 level of late and he holds leading claims on this drop in grade. The seven-year-old is only 1lb higher than last month's close-up second over C&D and a first victory in 2024 looks imminent. Fellow in-form rival Rough Diamond, a three-time turf winner, will have no issue with a return to this surface. Tristan Davidson's gelding is feared most, ahead of Ramon Di Loria.

HIERARCHY shaped well in a change of headgear when third at Salisbury 9 days ago, coming from much further back than the front pair, so he could be ready to take advantage of his career-low mark. He can see off the challenge of Impressor, who has returrned to form when runner-up on his last 2 starts, while Inanna is also one to note.

Impressor would need good to soft or preferably softer. The vote goes to INANNA who has been climbing the ladder again recently.

16:50 Plumpton Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Greatness Awaits has filled the top two places on his last three outings and is expected to give a good account off 2lb higher than his most recent second at Market Rasen. However, the step up in trip might be a negative and, with that in mind, THE DARK EDGE gets the nod. The five-year-old took a step in the right direction to fill the runner-up spot on handicap debut at Huntingdon in April and he could be the one to beat off only a 1lb higher mark. Sami Bear completes the shortlist.

GREATNESS AWAITS continues in good form and can notch up another victory if his stamina holds out. R S Ambush and Sami Bear are a couple of the other likely players.

This looks good for GREATNESS AWAITS (nap), who has remained in good form since his 2m hurdle win in June and should be suited by 2m4f.

17:00 Listowel NH Flat Race 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

The Willie Mullins-trained STEPPINGSTONE has shown enough on his last two starts to suggest he can take this finale. Having had a valid excuse when pulled up on his racecourse debut last August, the gelding has reached the frame on both runs this season. Despite being somewhat vulnerable to a more unexposed horse, the Masterstroke gelding sets a fair standard. Bayrann kept on well for third on his recent debut at Kilbeggan. The Tim Doyle-trained five-year-old is entitled to be very competitive if coming on from that initial effort. Supreme Ruler is hard to assess having had just the one start over flights. Although a well beaten third at Punchestown in February, the first two have franked that form subsequently.

SUPREME RULER made a bright start in a Punchestown novice hurdle in February and makes plenty of appeal returning in a bumper. Steppingstone is feared for Willie Mullins, while the returning Prove Yourself is a player.

The selection is SUPREME RULER, who did quite well on his hurdles debut at Punchestown in February despite some very poor jumping

17:12 Hamilton Handicap (Class 6) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Having relished the heavy ground when scoring over 1m3f here earlier in the month, another prominent showing is forecast from Jaminoz. However, the combination of a 3lb higher rating and a quicker surface may leave him vulnerable, with fellow last-time-out winner SUSIESPARKLE fancied to follow up. Iain Jardine's filly escapes a penalty for her recent victory in an apprentice event at Thirsk and she should take all the beating if coping with a quick turnaround. The progressive Ribble River could also feature.

SUSIESPARKLE made a successful stable debut at Thirsk earlier in the week and is able to race without a penalty, so looks the clear pick at the weights here. Ribble River was better than ever when scoring at Carlisle last month and remains unexposed at the trip, with Jaminoz also respected after his win here earlier in the month.

Off the same mark as when winning smoothly at Thirsk on Monday, SUSIESPARKLE (nap) should score again if she's in the same form.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
