The daughter of Ten Sovereigns is likely to encounter different ground conditions on this occasion, but her pedigree would suggest that will be no issue and she is fancied to repeat the dose under a penalty. A replication of Vintage Love's recent Ayr third would put her firmly in the reckoning here, while Jungle Jean, who shaped well at big odds on her first start, is another to consider.

LUNAR STREETS scored comfortably first time up at Leicester 4 weeks ago and looks sure to improve, so she's fancied to defy a penalty at the expense of Havana Rose and Vintage Love.

Ed Dunlop's LUNAR STREETS made a bright start with her clearcut win at Leicester and may well be able to defy a penalty to make it 2-2.

PARR FIRE didn't do herself any favours when slowly into stride at over C&D last month, but she finished her race off well and the daughter of James Garfield remains on a workable mark. She is preferred to the consistent eight-race maiden Woobay and Hobson Point, who could be well suited by dropping back in trip. Let's Go Hugo can also have a say in proceedings.

A tricky opener to solve but preference is for LET'S GO HUGO, who ran one of this season's better races when third at Wolverhampton 4 weeks ago and is fancied to be bang there if in the same mood back on turf. Hobson Point struggled to get involved in the mud last time so he may emerge as the main danger back on a sounder surface, with Parr Fire and Mumcat also considered.

James Ferguson's HOBSON POINT is taken to confirm the promise of his debut second for the yard having been below par on soft last time.

2-2 since joining the Declan Carroll team, including a commanding win at Thirsk three weeks ago, SPIRIT IN MY SOUL can continue her ascendency despite a subsequent 7lb rise and complete the hat-trick. Giselles Izzy continues to run well and should not be far away, along with American Affair, who drops in trip having posted back-to-back seconds over 7f at Ayr.

The vote goes to GISELLES IZZY, who is holding her form admirably well and she would have surely gone close but for encountering traffic problems when fourth at Catterick last time. Roshambo deserves to get her head back in front following a series of solid efforts in defeat this season and she is feared most. Resilience has slipped to a handy mark and is also shortlisted, along with the hat-trick seeking Spirit In My Soul.

The most striking contender is SPIRIT IN MY SOUL (nap), who is 2-2 for her current yard and had plenty in hand at Thirsk last time.

EN AVANT got off the mark on his first attempt for Olly Murphy at Worcester in July and this appears to be an excellent opportunity for the seven-year-old to back that effort up, with a 7lb penalty unlikely to stop him. Izzy's Grey finished third on his debut at Bangor and is entitled to benefit from a step up in trip, while Grand Auld Tune appeals most of the remainder.

EN AVANT immediately improved for the switch to Olly Murphy when successful at Worcester last month and this looks a gilt-edged follow-up opportunity. Izzy's Grey can chase the selection home.

It's very hard to see beyond EN AVANT, who made all to win in pretty good style on his stable debut in July.

This could go the way of THYER, who is open to any amount of improvement on the back of a promising placed effort on debut at Newbury in July. The step up in trip is another plus and he may have too much for Bella Wella, who disappointed at York under a penalty following a taking success first time out at Carlisle. A half-brother to star mare Laurens, Scottish Reel looks to be the pick of the newcomers.

This would appear to represent a very good opportunity for THYER to build on his Newbury debut third. The Charlie Johnston newcomer Scottish Reel makes plenty of paper appeal and might be the one to give Andrew Balding's charge most to think about ahead of Times Ticking, who more than hinted at ability on his Newcastle debut.

There was lots to like about the Newbury debut third (form franked) of THYER so Andrew Balding's Gleneagles colt looks the way to go.

I'm Spartacus can be forgiven a below-par effort at Ripon last time, with this stiff finish likely to tap into some of his stamina. The vote, though, goes to BELLARCHI, who was rewarded for her consistency when successful at Catterick 41 days ago and the daughter of Mehmas can build on that pitched into a nursery for the first time.

MINI MAGNA is progressing well and can get the hat-trick up. Catterick-winner Bellarchi is feared, while Chat Up Line is a must for the shortlist after catching the eye last time.

A tight nursery. SOCIALISE goes in no headgear this time and a repeat of June's good run at York would see him bang there.

HE IS A CRACKER was no match for the winner at Uttoxeter last time, but it was still a very encouraging effort in second and he won't mind the step back up in distance. The seven-year-old is allowed to compete off the same rating and he could be the one to beat. Champ Royal has Harry Cobden booked for his debut over fences and he is one to watch out for in the market, while Janeslittlevoice has improved with each run this year and should also be considered.

HE IS A CRACKER has run well to be placed on all 3 attempts over fences and is the percentage call, although chase newcomers Champ Royal and Our Brother John, who has a point win to his name, could pose big threats if taking to this new discipline.

Winning pointer OUR BROTHER JOHN began his rules career with two encouraging hurdle runs and can make a winning handicap/chase debut.

Shin Jidai arrives with similar clams following a taking success at Newcastle on debut, though the form of that contest has not worked out in the interim. Faayzah is another open to improvement after a respectable effort at Newmarket.

CINDERELLA'S DREAM stood out on paper and won with much more in hand than the winning margin of a neck would suggest at Lingfield on debut, so she is taken to follow up with improvement to come over this longer trip. The Godolphin filly can see off the challenge of fellow winning-debutante Shin Jidai, with Faayzah completing the shortlist.

Richard Fahey's runner has been raised 4lb for his most recent success and that may not be enough to halt his progression. Mersea also won last time, scoring over 6f at this venue, but she may find it tough to defy a 6lb penalty , while Borough can also get involved.

The fitting of a visor has clearly given SHOW ME SHOW ME a new lease of life and he is taken to complete the hat-trick. The 6-y-o arrived late on the scene when scoring at Windsor recently and should again get a strong pace to aim at. C&D winners Sound Reason and Ramon Di Loria are feared most in that order of preference, while cases can also be made for The Dunkirk Lads and Thornaby Pearl.

The main threat might be Gambie Tiep, who has been sent off favourite in each of his last four outings since joining the Ben Pauling stable and he could continue his solid form. Princess Midnight ran too bad to be true at Worcester last time and she could bounce back.

GAMBIE TIEP had excuses on his last 2 starts and remains of interest off his current mark despite his stamina being a slight concern here. Young Wolf has re-found some form after an absence and is feared most.

It's hard to predict whether his revival will continue but YOUNG WOLF was very useful in his prime and may follow up his recent win.

Gulliver hasn't tasted success for a while now but he can be involved from a much-reduced mark, though preference is for TINTO. Michael Dods' charge bounced back to form with a commanding victory at Redcar last month and a subsequent 4lb rise should not prevent him from mounting another stern challenge.

FAST AND LOOSE ran well after an 11-week break when third at Redcar 20 days ago and, having only had the 3 starts so far this season, he can take a step forward to record a first win of the year. With the benefit of his recent run, the 4-y-o can reverse the placings with Tinto from when the pair met last time, while Ingra Tor also enters calculations back down in grade.

Touch The Moon is feared most after being just touched off over 1m at Haydock last time and he appears to be a colt on the up, while Curran is an interesting newcomer for the Charlie Johnston yard.

TOUCH THE MOON would probably have won with a clearer run at Haydock and should make no mistake with better luck this time. Beverley-winner Magsood is the danger.

Nibras Gold found only a subsequent winner too strong at Newton Abbot in late-july and is feared most off only 1lb higher, ahead of Thibault, who races off a 7lb lower mark than his last success in this sphere.

FORGET THE WAY has improved of late, confirming previous promise when running out a good winner at Worcester (2m) 31 days ago, and he gets the nod to defy a 6 lb rise. Nibras Gold and Thibault can emerge as the chief threats.

Seemingly back in form over fences for a new stable this summer, PAROS (nap) can be a more potent force on this return to hurdling.

Mount Athos, Gweedore and Danzan will all want to secure an early lead, which could set this up perfectly for hold-up performer SCOTTISH SUMMIT. The 10-year-old defeated The Cookstown Cafu over course and distance off 3lb lower in May, but he still has a bit in hand judged on past exploits. The latter should not be underestimated either, though he does need to bounce back having finished down the field at Carlisle in June.

SCOTTISH SUMMIT had a bit up his sleeve when scoring here in May and, with his latest run at York best excused, he's worth chancing to resume winning ways if the race is run to suit. The hat-trick seeking Gweedore is an obvious threat and The Cookstown Cafu shouldn't be ruled out.

Katie Scott's GWEEDORE has a career-high mark to overcome but arrives on a roll so edges the vote ahead of Danzan.

With that in mind, the most solid proposition appears to be LOCKDOWN LASS. The five-year-old has posted some creditable efforts in defeat of late and could put her race fitness to good use. Last year's C&D winner Temper Trap completes the shortlist.

TEMPER TRAP would have finished closer with a clearer run at Thirsk last time and could resume winning ways in a trappy handicap. Alpine Sierra might be the danger.

NADIM found his winning spree coming to an end when finishing third at Cartmel on Saturday, having ran in snatches, with a first-time visor looking a good move by connections here. The Highland Reel gelding could regain the winning thread if travelling with more verve and gets the nod. Fort De L'Ocean wasn't beaten far when coming home in fourth over 2m at Huntingdon in May and may give the selection most to think about now up in trip, while it's too early to write off Callin Baton Rouge on the return to hurdling.

It could be worth chancing HILL STATION, who admittedly possesses a rather chequered profile but he put in a good shift when fourth on the Flat at Kempton recently and has been eased 5 lb in the weights since his latest start in this sphere. Nadim has been in fine form this summer and, likely to benefit from the fitting of a visor, he is feared most ahead of Fort de L'Ocean.

He made Bradley Harris work pretty hard at Cartmel on Saturday but progressive 4yo NADIM is the most obvious answer here.

THE LOVELY MAN should be good enough to win here for local trainer Colm Murphy. A reproduction of his most recent effort when runner-up in a similar grade at Naas back in March would almost certainly suffice. Prior to that, the Mastercraftsman gelding had shown ability on two earlier runs. Although making his reappearance here after a break, the four-year-old has run well fresh in the past. Boher Road made a promising debut over hurdles when second at Killarney in May before unseating when sent off favourite next time. Provided that he is none the worse for that mishap, the Jarlath Fahey-trained gelding should be a leading contender. Smart flat handicapper Good Heavens shaped well on his initial foray over hurdles before finding the step into graded company too much on his second start. The Joseph O'Brien-trained gelding will find this easier.

THE LOVELY MAN boasts a progressive profile and already has the best form so, provided he's ready to go after 5 months off, he has an excellent chance to open his account. Boher Road looks the main danger and Good Heaven is likely to make his mark if he attracts market support.

Gerald Stephen Quinn's charge shaped as if this slight step up in trip would suit and another bold bid can be expected. The consistent Doctor Nightingale was just over three lengths back in third on that occasion and she is respected as she reopposes, while Cossack Chach should also be thereabouts.

A few in with a shout but COSSACK CHACH made a winning start over hurdles at Killarney 6 weeks ago and with further improvement on the cards, Joseph O'Brien's charge gets the verdict to follow up. The main threat may emerge from Annie Agnew, who found just a well-backed favourite too strong on her hurdling bow at Ballinrobe recently, while Gordon Elliott's pair Doctor Nightingale and Millennium Rose also warrant plenty of respect.

Ryan Sexton is also on board to claim a handy 3lb, which should make the Pearl Secret gelding tough to beat. Detective has been running well enough of late and he can get involved on the drop in class to potentially emerge as the chief threat, ahead of Gibside, who wouldn't be out of this on his best form.

STRICTLY DREAMING left the impression that a stiffer test would be in her favour when third in a 1¼m Newmarket handicap a fortnight ago and she can back that theory up by opening her account here off a 1 lb lower mark. There are several others to consider, including Detective, who is now below his last winning mark and has been knocking on the door of late. Bringbackmemories and the in-form Spanish Hustle are also shortlisted.

Although without a win this term DETECTIVE has run a series of good races over various trips and is taken to beat Strictly Dreaming.

Fine By Me returned to form with a solid second-placed effort at that same venue earlier in August and shouldn't be far away, while Punches Cross has enough stamina in his pedigree to suggest that he can have a say in proceedings too.

HORIZON D'OR showed much improved form when second from out of the weights on his debut for this yard at Bangor 11 days ago and a repeat of that sort of performance should be enough for him to go one better. Fine By Me made a pleasing return at the same course and looks the main danger.

After finding only the short-odds favourite too strong at Bangor recently, HORIZON D'OR is effectively 8lb lower here.

TOPO CHICO has proved a revelation dropped to sprinting for new trainer David Loughnane and can complete a hat-tick. Brazen Idol has been in good form since joining John Butler and is the obvious one to give the selection most to do.

Having clicked for her new yard since dropped to 6f, TOPO CHICO can complete the hat-trick at the main expense of Brazen Idol.

The Philip Rothwell-trained gelding was always to the fore before kicking on and taking control before the final flight. Similar tactics should work just as well around a tight track such as this. Mullins Cross filled the runner-up spot in that aforementioned race but won't find it easy to reverse the placings at these revised weights. Depeche Mo travelled strongly for a long way at Killarney last week before stamina limitations exposed the five-year-old late on. Now back over the trip at which he finished second on his only previous visit to this venue, the Eric Larkin-trained gelding rates a live danger.

WALK OUT looked ahead of her opening mark when second at Tramore in May and, fit from a spin on the Flat, she's worth chancing to open her account under Rachael Blackmore. Leroy Leroy and Prince of Air are the main dangers.

Cosmic Soul heads the remainder.

ART DE VIVRE was ultimately flattered by her proximity to the odds-on winner at Ffos Las last time but she appears to be going the right way nonetheless, and further progress is a distinct possibility now upped in trip for this handicap debut with William Buick in the hot-seat. Trooper Bisdee is greatly respected under a penalty and is the clear main danger ahead of Smart Champion.

Sir Mark Prescott's improving 3yo TROOPER BISDEE hasn't looked back since sent handicapping and he can complete the hat-trick.

Air Drop and Final Decision are potential improvers who can lay down strong challenges to the selection, while Angelsworknovrtime also has the ability to play a part at this level.

DAME RAPIDE has yet to convince as a hurdler but she's worth another chance given her useful form on the Flat. Goodie Two Shoes has a similar profile to the selection so is feared, with Air Drop another to consider.

Back over his optimum trip, HAVANA GOLDRUSH returned to form at Bath last week and having been eased further in the weights, he looks the one to be with. Inclement Weather and Fieldsman are a couple of potential threats.

JOHNNY JOHNSON did well to get third having made his effort more towards the far side than ideal at Newmarket last time and, with a bigger performance expected, he's narrowly preferred to Count Palatine and The Smiling Wolf, who both arrive on the back of good seconds.

BRIDESWELL LAD appears to hold strong claims of giving trainer Seamus Neville a winner at his local track. The seven-year-old ran a huge race over fences on his latest start when sixth at the Galway festival. Although arguably not as good a horse over hurdles, the Shirocco gelding is difficult to ignore off a 31lb lower rating here. The Mass Path would have been a stronger fancy had connections decided to retain the headgear he wore when runner-up at Sligo last time. With that aid appearing to have brought about significant improvement, it is somewhat surprising that it is dispensed with here. Rockview Roman made a pleasing handicap debut when second at Sligo earlier this month. With the benefit of that experience, the John McConnell-trained seven-year-old should be right in the mix.

BRIDESWELL LAD is clearly a better chaser than hurdler but his mark reflects that so he's worth siding with. The Mass Path is a sure-fire improver now handicapping, with Rockview Roman another to consider.

BLUE DAY shaped with plenty of encouragement in a stronger race than this at Newbury 41 days ago and, with improvement on the cards, he gets the nod. Manhattan Mirage and Blacklion are both notable newcomers, while First Encore also has potential.

First Encore's Salisbury third has been boosted since, but BLUE DAY shaped with a deal of promise at Newbury and is preferred.

The Con O'Keeffe-trained mare finished third in a well contested Listed hurdle at Killarney in May but failed to back that run up when a beaten favourite at Listowel subsequently. Now stepped up markedly in trip for the first time, the five-year-old looks to hold strong claims. Workforadime was unlucky in running when the subject of a gamble at Kilbeggan in May but has failed to trouble the judge in two runs since then. The Charles Byrnes-trained mare is another that should appreciate the emphasis on stamina here. Lucky Storm would have gone very close at Tramore last time only for veering left and throwing her chance away at the final flight.

SILENT APPROACH sets a good standard on her placed effort in listed company and in the hope she can shrug off a lesser effort last time, she looks the way to go upped in trip. Coole Cherry failed to meet expectations at Sligo but is sure to do better, with Lucky Storm another to note.

He was reported to be blowing hard post-race, which suggests he is capable of much better, and the son of Galileo is worth another chance in these much calmer waters. Pinyon Jay improved from his first start to be placed in a Kilbeggan bumper and the step up in trip is likely to benefit him on his hurdling bow, while One Flew Eau Verte and Mount Frisco complete the shortlist.

Promising Flat-recruit HARLEY STREET was never involved when pitched into the deep end on hurdles bow in a Grade 3 at Fairyhouse in February and is well worth another chance in this much easier race. Pinyon Jay showed a bit when third in a bumper at Kilbeggan, while Mount Frisco should put his experience to good use.

SYLLABUS isn't progressing but this appears to be his most straightforward assignment to date, so he's fancied to get off the mark at the possible expense of Insanity, who needs to put a tame run behind him but still has some potential. Beau Nash could also feature if he settles better.

Time To Rocco is likely to struggle, but a case can be made for the remaining five. It's somewhat surprising to see Uncle Phil return to Wexford, with Patrick Mullins commenting after his recent Kilbeggan success: "This track suited him much better, a flatter track. Wexford was a bit too stiff for him, he likes to get on with it." I A Connect finished behind Uncle Phil at the Co Westmeath venue and while since successful at Tipperary, he might find it difficult to reverse the form. The admirable Effernock Fizz ran another fine race when second at Ballinrobe on Monday and with Carl Millar again claiming a valuable 7lb, she should give a good account of herself. Bidding to complete a four-timer, Lucky Zebo faces his toughest task to date, but it'll come as no surprise if he manages to prevail. While disappointing at Galway, JOYEUX MACHIN is given the chance to redeem himself. The locally trained six-year-old clearly acts well around Bettyville and can take this quality affair.

LUCKY ZEBO was progressive over hurdles during the spring and took another step forward when scoring in good style on his chase debut back from a two-month break at at Kilbeggan. He clearly has a bright future in this sphere and is taken to get the better of another promising recruit in Uncle Phil, who also landed a maiden chase at Kilbeggan where he produced an impressive round of jumping. Effernock Fizz is best of the rest.

There was plenty to like about BILLIEGEE's debut second in a newcomers' maiden at Kempton 18 days ago and, with progress anticipated, she's fancied to go one place better. Inbetweenus showed ability when fifth on debut herself at Goodwood and is feared most. Middlesex is a newcomer to note in the betting.

Jeff Kidder wasn't disgraced when sixth in a Grade 3 event at Tipperary and he could also have a say in proceedings.

WHISKEY SOUR arrives on the back of a decent run on the Flat at Galway and can make a successful return to hurdles. Jeff Kidder ran well in a Tipperary Grade 3 last time can give the selection most to do ahead of Gordon Elliott's Mayo National winner Tullybeg, who reverts to hurdling for the first time since spring 2022.

THE THAMES BOATMAN represents a yard in excellent form and has a career-low mark to work with, so he receives the vote in what looks a trappy sprint. Imperiousity and Jax Edge are a couple of potential threats.

The filly CONNIE'S ROSE goes on any ground and here's hoping she can return to her winning form at Bath not all that long ago.

Successful here in May, she followed-up at Tipperary before finishing a close fifth of 18 on her latest outing at Cork. Mixing it between hurdles and fences, the Flemensfirth six-year-old looks well-capable of winning a race of this standard. With Paddy O'Hanlon claiming a valuable 5lb, Early Arrival is given second preference. While she has just one win to her name from 29 career starts, she has been running well of late and can make her presence felt. Beaten by just half-a-length over the course and distance on her most recent start, Downtown Queen is sure to have plenty of supporters and it'll come as no surprise if she manages to prevail. Lake Chad also filled the runner-up spot at Tramore and while that was an excellent effort, he hasn't managed to win a race in well over a year. Robyndeglory warrants respect on her handicap debut over fences, while Rebel Waltz is another for the shortlist.

There should be better to come from SEARCH FOR A MYTH, who opened her chase account at the second attempt at Tipperary in July and there was nothing wrong with effort in a big-field handicap hurdle at Cork next time. Rebel Waltz was placed off this mark at Killarney last week and is second choice now back down in trip, while Downtown Queen and Early Arrival are others with claims.

RUDY CATRAIL has been in fine form of late and looks the safest option in this low-grade affair. The likeable front-runner claimed this very race four years ago and registered a fifth track success when delivering on his penultimate start at Roscommon. He again bravely attempted to make all at Kilbeggan on Friday of last week and while ultimately failing to hold off Winnie Woodnutt, he was 35-lengths clear of the third. Tennessee Titan is given second preference, racing off his hurdles mark of 91. The locally trained seven-year-old has a point-to-point win to his name and should be able to make an impact in a contest of this quality. North Of Nashville has a similar profile and with Jordan Gainford a positive jockey booking, it'll be interesting to see how she fares. Top-weight Room To Roam, course winner Ocean Legacy and Roscommon third Courting Vickie are other leading hopes.

A first taste of success over fences could be on the cards for ROOM TO ROAM, who went close at Tipperary on his penultimate start before doing too much too soon at Kilbeggan. He remains on a workable mark and has conditions in his favour. William of Wykeham has failed to make an impact in three qualifying runs in this sphere but is likely to be seen in a better light now pitched into a handicap and is second choice ahead of Rudy Catrail and Courting Vickie.

Easter Icon was a fair third over 2m1f at Pontefract last month and is next best, while Berkshire Sundance completes the shortlist.

TARBAT NESS has knocked on the door a few times this season and gets the nod with Tom Marquand doing the steering on him for the first time. Low-mileage 3-y-os Lock The Vault, who sports first-time blinkers for his handicap debut, and Berkshire Sundance might be the pair to give him most to think about.

Tin Fandango is a big player on soft ground but has a 3-42 strike-rate. BERKSHIRE SUNDANCE stuck to his task well over 2m on AW.

GLORY CALL found further improvement when regaining the winning thread on his 7f bow here last month and the Cotai Glory gelding may have more to offer over this distance, so a 3lb rise looks more than fair. The in-form Harry The Haggler expected to pose the the biggest threat after knocking on the door of late and Stuart Williams' three-year-old shouldn't be inconvenienced by the drop in trip. Cloud Queen was third at Chelmsford last month and another 1lb drop in the weights will help Ed Dunlop's filly.

HARRY THE HAGGLER was knocking firmly on the door in handicaps on AW/turf earlier this summer and with the return to 7f holding no fears, he's fancied to get off the mark at the ninth attempt. Glory Call, who has landed 2 of his last 3 starts, and Cloud Queen head up the dangers.

Harry The Haggler should be up to winning a race of this nature but GLORY CALL is taken to gain a third win here.

DALBY FOREST was well held in second over 5f at Southwell last time but he has been given a golden chance to go one better by the handicapper. David Simcock's runner has been dropped 3lb for that two-and-a-half-length defeat and he looks primed to mount another bold bid today. C&D winner Munificent is feared most having been raised just 1lb for being beaten by a three-quarters of a length in second over 5f at Yarmouth, while Lancashire Life can also hit the frame.

DALBY FOREST ran well behind a subsequent winner at Southwell a fortnight ago and has obvious claims down 3 lb. Speed Dial Baileys and Munificent are feared.

Preference is for MUNIFICENT, in the hope that he can settle sufficiently to be able to carry his effort through to the line.

GHOSTLY arrives here seeking a hat-trick and he is fancied to add to his winning sequence today. Stella Barclay's charge has been raised a further 2lb for a nose success over 1m4f at Thirsk but that may not be enough to stop the in-form five-year-old as he continues on an upward trajectory. The consistent Hot Team is likely to run his race again, while Jenny Ren also deserves closer inspection.

A decidedly trappy finale and with that in mind a chance is taken on SKI JUMP. A winner at Beverley in June, he hasn't been disgraced on either start since and, still low-mileage at this trip, it would come as no surprise to see him go well. Ghostly is enjoying a good spell and rates a big threat in search of the hat-trick, with Jenny Ren and Hot Team also in the mix.

A few of these like to race prominently and this could set up nicely for JENNY REN to gain her fourth C&D success.
