13:30 Curragh Maiden 9f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

SHACKLETON can make it third-time lucky. The Camelot colt has finished runner-up on both outings. He was turned over at a short price at Tipperary but the front two pulled well clear and he can step forward now to open his account. Deetee shaped nicely when fifth in a decent maiden here on his debut last month and he could be a danger. The Masar colt was staying on behind Acapulco Bay and with the benefit of that run under his belt, he can go well. Joseph O'Brien runs two newcomers and Kilcrea Rock would appear the pick of them on jockey bookings.

SHACKLETON still looked a work-in-progress when failing to land the odds at Tipperary a month ago but it was by no means a bad effort and he's fancied to get it right this time. Sujet's pedigree strongly suggests he'll show more this time so he's a threat, along with newcomer Medallion, a stablemate of the selection.

Shackleton sets a decent standard but is opposed by SUJET, who shaped nicely on debut in a strong Killarney maiden

13:45 Epsom Handicap (Class 4) 7f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

WHITE CHAPEL ROAD found the Convivial at York too hot, but he quickly bounced back to score impressively at Brighton earlier this month. In what doesn't look the deepest nursery on paper, the son of Land Force gets the vote to give weight and a beating to his rivals. Already a C&D winner, Graduated might be the main danger now dropping in grade after coming up short in a valuable sales race over 6f on the Knavesmire. Pietro is also considered.

If WHITE CHAPEL ROAD is in the same form as when making virtually all at Brighton last time he might be able to dominate this small-field nursery. Pietro has already won a similar race over C&D and looks the obvious threat.

Pietro is high on the list but the return to 7f can see NEW BOMBAY resume winning ways.

Went close both starts on polytrack and sets a fairly useful standard but probably not a banker if he's sent off at very short odds.

13:55 Southwell Maiden (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Although MASHADI remains winless after 11 starts, there have been plenty of creditable efforts in defeat. The gelded son of Blue Point sets the standard with an official rating of 83 and this looks a golden opportunity to break his maiden. Boss Dog is less exposed and, though only rated 4lb inferior, his future might lay over further. With that in mind, debutant Plutonic, who makes plenty of appeal on paper, could be the bigger threat.

PLUTONIC isn't over-faced on debut and is chanced to make a successful start ahead of the fairly useful but 11-race maiden Mashadi.

Mashadi is top on the figures but not the type to support with confidence. BOSS DOG is interesting dropped in distance.

14:05 Curragh Maiden 7f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

STORM PIECE has bumped into a couple of useful sorts and can get his turn now. He looked set to collect at Punchestown recently before Genealogy picked up late to trump him close home. He had lost out by half a length to Officer in a decent contest over course and distance first time up and can gain a deserved success. The danger looks to be Aftermath, who has also performed well on both starts and is the Ballydoyle main hope with Ryan Moore on board. The Quality Road newcomer Saints N Scholars wears blinkers and the market may prove the best guide to his chances.

Highly tried on his second start, AFTERMATH took a big step forward when third in the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster and he could be ready to get off the mark this time around. Storm Piece has also made a promising start to his career and could be the main danger, with Saints N Scholars the pick of the newcomers.

Third in an admittedly sub-standard Champagne Stakes makes AFTERMATH the one to beat back in maiden company

14:20 Epsom Stakes (Class 2) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

In what looks a fascinating contest with a view to the future, GLITTERING LEGEND gets a tentative nod. The son of Too Darn Hot left a low-key debut well behind to score in the style of a smart prospect over a mile at Goodwood and, with further improvement likely, he can get the better of some similarly promising rivals. Anniversary showed a likeable attitude when getting off the mark at the first time of asking over a mile at Newmarket and he can give the selection most to think about. Bath winner The Green Mile has to be taken seriously too.

ANNIVERSARY is entered in the Group 1 Futurity at Doncaster next month and can set himself up for a possible tilt at that race by following up last month's Newmarket debut success. Glittering Legend can follow him home.

Anniversary and GLITTERING LEGEND appeal most, with the latter taken to confirm the serious promise of his Goodwood win.

14:30 Southwell Handicap (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

UNASSUMING won with any amount in hand over C&D on Thursday and, should this assignment not come too soon, she will be tough to beat under a 5lb penalty. Calanthe made a successful handicap debut at Lingfield before finding only a well-treated rival too strong at Kempton last time. Archie Watson's charge looks most likely to put it up the selection, though Arantes Nascimento should not be underestimated.

UNASSUMING was very impressive when making a successful start for George Boughey here on Thursday, winning as she liked, and looks set to rack up a sequence. Quiet Resolve was right back to form in a competitive handicap at Ayr and can go well again dropped 2 lb. Calanthe is another interesting 3-y-o.

Unexposed UNASSUMING looks well-in under a penalty for her eased-down success here on Thursday. Calanthe is second choice.

14:40 Curragh Group 3 7f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

HEAVENS GATE should appreciate going another furlong here and can gain her black-type success. When she landed the valuable Ballyhane Stakes at Naas, it was interesting to hear Aidan O'Brien say that she wanted to go seven furlongs. She performed with credit when fourth in the Lowther Stakes at York last month and looks capable of landing this. Barnavara sets the standard off a mark of 104 and is the obvious danger. She has been third behind Bedtime Story on her last couple of outings and is entitled to be a big player. English raider Alla Stella could be suited by dropping back a furlong and is place material.

HEAVENS GATE holds the edge on form so is fancied to bag a third success at the chief expense of course-winner Barnavara. Alla Stella and Merrily appeal as the pick of the rest for minor honours.

Belatedly tried over this trip, HEAVENS GATE could prove the answer, stablemate Merrily a likely danger

14:55 Epsom Stakes (Class 4) 10f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Lasting Love wasn't disgraced when runner-up to a potentially smart filly at Goodwood and another prominent showing from the daughter of Lope De Vega is forecast. That said, she may have to fill the same berth again, this time behind SIR LOWRY'S PASS. Ed Walker's colt overcame a tardy start to beat Forest Gate cosily over the same C&D and he can make light of a 7lb winner's penalty. Games People Play also enters calculations, for all that the step back in trip may not be ideal.

Harry Charlton's RICKSHAW promises to be well suited by this step up in trip so is fancied to build on his debut Pontefract third and edge out Goodwood-scorer Sir Lowry's Pass. Both Lasting Love and Games People Play have the form to play a leading part too.

Five of these look in serious contention but SIR LOWRY'S PASS, despite his penalty, is taken to follow up his Goodwood win.

15:05 Southwell Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Twice a runner-up since winning at Salisbury late last month, Bownder can give yet another good account of himself. One Road must shoulder a 6lb penalty having been on target at Wolverhampton on Monday and has to be taken seriously. However, a chance can be taken on SPACEAGE LOVE SONG. Michael Bell's juvenile went unsighted in three maiden runs over 5f, but the switch to nurseries, along with a step up to a mile, ought to provide a much more realistic opportunity.

BOWINDER rates just the pick of these weights on the back of his very good Bath second so is taken to resume winning ways on his first go on tapeta. Excellent Yarmouth third Freak Encounter rates the chief threat in his bid for a breakthrough success, with Good Call and One Road also in the mix in this open nursery.

Topweight ONE ROAD (nap) kept on well to win over 7f at Wolverhampton on his recent nursery debut and he can defy a 6lb penalty.

15:15 Curragh Group 3 6f  Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

The rain looks like it will come in time for SPYCATCHER. Karl Burke's charge failed to make much impression in the Haydock Sprint Cup last time on good ground. He had taken a Deauville Group 3 contest in testing conditions previously and should be a big player back at this level. My Mate Alfie produced a really good performance to carry a big weight to success in the Bold Lad Handicap on Irish Champions Weekend. He is actually top-rated in this now and handles a bit of cut as well. Go Athletico has been crying out for rain and could be place material.

If MY MATE ALFIE is in the same mood as when taking a big-field C&D handicap on Irish Champions weekend he'll take plenty of stopping. Spycatcher can bounce back from his lesser run in the Sprint Cup and provide the chief threat ahead of Paddy Twomey's Super Sox.

With further easing in the ground possible, conditions should suit SPYCATCHER, back in top form at Deauville before a Group 1 bid

15:30 Epsom Handicap (Class 4) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A return to class 4 company proved just the tonic for MILLER SPIRIT when he took top honours in the Jump Jockeys Derby over C&D earlier this month. That was the four-year-old's first appearance at this track and a 3lb nudge up the ratings may not prevent him from completing a double. Fellow in-form rival Organic is a potential improver up in distance and she could prove the biggest danger, ahead of Thursday.

MARK OF GOLD returns to this sphere on an attractive mark so is fancied to continue his connections' excellent record in this event. Both Thursday (second choice) and Organic arrive in great form and can have a say in this competitive handicap. C&D scorer Miller Spirit, a stablemate of the selection, completes the shortlist.

There is clearly something to prove for most of these but not for MILLER SPIRIT (nap), who gets the vote ahead of Cambria Legend.

15:40 Southwell Handicap (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Now that the penny has dropped for KING DAVID after a taking success over this distance at Kempton last time out, Marco Botti's charge is likely to have plenty more improvement forthcoming, and he can overcome what looks like a lenient 3lb rise. Denied by the narrowest of margins over the same track and trip most recently, Airshow can give him the most to think about, along with Pontefract second Petra Celera and Shalaa Asker.

C&D winner PETRA CELERA produced another sound effort and was beaten only by one taking a significant drop in class at Pontefract (1m) 10 days ago. The return to this trip will hold no fears and she's one of the likelier types with Billy Loughnane in the plate. Kempton-scorer King David is easily one of the least exposed and feared along with Airshow. Shalaa Asker is another to keep an eye on.

Back down in grade and returned to the scene of her August win, PETRA CELERA is preferred. Embarked is second choice.

15:50 Curragh Handicap 7f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Due to go up 14lb following his narrow defeat in a Listowel rated race in mid-week, THE MARTY PARTY is difficult to oppose here off his old rating. Prominent throughout, the Joseph O'Brien-trained colt kept on well, only being caught close home. Provided that this race doesn't come too soon, he looks a seriously well-handicapped horse. Fairyhouse claiming-race winner Moonhall Church also makes a swift return to action but travelled well throughout that contest, scoring with a bit in hand. Off the track since June, Irish Acclamation could be interesting on her return given that she shaped with promise on a couple of occasions prior to her break.

THE MARTY PARTY looks well treated after his improved second at Listowel on Wedensday and can go one better. His stablemate Montpellier Green should have more to offer now returning to 7f for his handicap debut and is feared most ahead of Moonhall Church and Mykonian Odyssey.

If none the worse for his fine effort in a rated race at Listowel THE MARTY PARTY should be able to exploit this handicap opportunity.

16:05 Epsom Handicap (Class 3) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

An improver when stepped up to this trip over C&D last month, DASHINWHITESARGENT is likely to have plenty more improvement forthcoming and as long as he handles the forecast heavy ground, he can follow up. That may be at the main expense of last week's easy Chester winner Qitaal, although the unexposed Winston's Tipple got off the mark in determined fashion at Lingfield and has to be considered closely too.

Andrew Balding's handicap newcomer WINSTON'S TIPPLE appeals as the type to progress further and he can follow up his recent Lingfield succcess at the chief expense of Qitaal, who proved better than ever when scoring at Chester last week. The thoroughly reliable Fast Steps should also be in the mix again.

The in-form FAST STEPS has a good record here and gets the nod ahead of Dashinwhitesargent.

16:15 Southwell Handicap (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A winner over 1m6f here on his penultimate outing, ENVIRONMENT AMIGO has long given the impression that stepping up beyond 2m would suit. The son of Golden Horn is narrowly preferred to old rival Judgementofsolomon, who was well on top when scoring over further at Pontefract last time out. Clockwatcher is another to consider if bouncing back to the form of his success at Newcastle earlier in the month.

Cases can be made for most of these but, in a change of headgear, LOVE SAFARI shaped much better than he had been doing for Charlie Johnston when seventh at Ayr last week so he gets the nod to make his second start on the all-weather a winning one at the expense of Judgementofsolomon, who unsurprisingly had no problem with a longer trip when scoring at Pontefract recently and should have more to offer. Environment Amigo looks best of the rest.

While others are capable on their good days, the most reliable propositions are the 3yos ENVIRONMENT AMIGO and Judgementofsolomon.

16:25 Curragh Handicap 17f  Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Galway Hurdle winner NURBURGRING can land another valuable handicap for trainer Joseph O'Brien. The four-year-old, who went up to a mark of 150 after winning that summer feature, looks nicely treated back on the level. Having caught the eye staying on late over a shorter trip at Leopardstown on Irish Champions Weekend, he should be primed for this assignment. The Gavin Cromwell-trained Sixandahalf is well handicapped under a 7lb penalty following her win at Newmarket last month. A former bumper winner, the filly should appreciate stepping up beyond two miles for the first time on the Flat. Despite a very wide draw, Dawn Rising has to have claims of improving on his third-placed finish from last year.

A highly competitive renewal of the Irish Cesarewitch but THE EUPHRATES looks to have got in lightly for his handicap debut on the back of his excellent Irish St Leger fourth so gets the vote. Gavin Cromwell's improving filly Sixandahalf could emerge as the main danger to Aidan O'Brien's 3-y-o, although lots of others need factoring in, chiefly Nurburgring, Spasiba, Chally Chute and Dawn Rising.

The 2m4f trip found out ZANNDABAD in the Ascot Stakes. His staying-on third in the Chester Cup gives him good credentials for this

16:40 Epsom Handicap (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Into Battle finished third over 1m3f in this grade at Kempton last month and he is interesting on this considerable drop in trip off a 1lb lower rating. However, the vote goes to the in-form ARKHALIA FLYNN, who may have missed out on the hat-trick but produced another pleasing effort to fill the runner-up spot at Haydock. The son of Ulysses goes off only 1lb higher and can continue his forward momentum. Glam Squad is another to note.

ARKHALIA FLYNN improved further when runner-up at Haydock 22 days ago, going down fighting in his hat-trick bid, so he is taken to resume winning ways in his current form. He can see off the challenge of Condor Pasa, who remains capable of better making only his second handicap start, with Escape Act also considered.

The unexposed bottom weight ESCAPE ACT proved well suited by soft ground at Doncaster in July and earns the vote.

16:50 Southwell Handicap (Class 6) 11f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

The application of headgear has seen EARLY MORNING DEW travel with much more verve in recent outings, as evidenced by a runner-up effort at Brighton and most lately a victory at Epsom. A 3lb rise looks more than workable for the veteran and a double could be on the cards. Red Treasure arrives on the back of a solid second at Lingfield and she may give the selection most to think about racing off an unchanged mark, ahead of the progressive Emerald City.

Stepping back up to 1¼m clearly benefited RED TREASURE recently at Lingfield where she found just one too good, and perhaps the extra furlong she has to travel here will prove to be just what the doctor ordered. The Ed Dunlop-trained filly shades preference ahead of the consistent Emerald City, who is second choice ahead of fellow last-time-out winner Early Morning Dew and Prince Achille.

Six appear to have reasonable each-way claims but the pick of them may be EMERALD CITY from Liberated Lad.

17:00 Curragh Stakes 7f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Despite being absent since making a winning debut over C&D in March, PROCRASTINATE can maintain his unbeaten record. The Paddy Twomey-trained colt travelled strongly throughout that race, readily beating two horses who have franked the form subsequently. Given that he held an entry in a Listed race at Cork next week, the three-year-old must be pleasing connections. Tokenomics, who looked a progressive gelding prior to finishing mid-division at York last time, should be competitive. He should have no issues dropping back down to 7f having raced over further of late. Elinor Dashwood will need to break on terms, but has every chance of getting involved if doing so.

BUCANEER'S SPIRIT has proven most progressive since joining the Jack Davison yard and he can follow up his recent smooth-travelling win at Navan. Tokenomics was on the upgrade until contesting a hot handicap at the Ebor meeting and can't be best judged on that performance, so rates as the biggest threat, whilst impressive maiden winner Procrastinate is very interesting after a 6-month break.

It may be worth taking a chance on PROCRASTINATE who made a good first impression here in March and is likely to be fit and ready

17:15 Epsom Handicap (Class 4) 7f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Miguel justified favouritism in commanding style at Musselburgh and has to be considered off 7lb higher, but this represents a step up in grade. With that in mind, COME ON YOU SPURS looks the way to go. Richard Spencer's three-year-old struck by a length and a half at Sandown and the handicapper may have let her off with only a 3lb rise. Hodler completes the shortlist.

HODLER ended his losing spell in emphatic fashion over this C&D 17 days ago, and given he retains plenty of handicap scope, a subsequent 6 lb rise looks within his range. The selection may have most to fear from the last-time-out winning 3-y-os Miguel and Come On You Spurs.

The locally trained HODLER returned to form recently with a commanding soft-ground C&D win and he remains well treated.

17:25 Southwell Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Having hit the frame on his last two outings at this venue of late, compensation could be headed in CRYPTO QUEST's direction. Scott Dixon's charge makes plenty of appeal racing off the same rating and is narrowly preferred over Sankari. The fitting of first-time cheekpieces enabled an improved bid from the three-year-old when finishing third at Chelmsford 10 days ago and another prominent showing is forecast. Mecca's Duchess is also worth a second look off a career-low mark.

The one who appeals most is SANKARI, who is very well treated on his 2-y-o form and responded well to the first-time cheekpieces when third in an 11-runner Chelmsford handicap 10 days ago, on just his second run on the all-weather. If the fitting of blinkers works the oracle for Don't Fight It she will be a big threat, while Crypto Quest has performed well over C&D the last twice and is likely to give another good account. Mecca's Duchess and Street Life both have each-way claims, too.

Mecca's Duchess can go well in new headgear but it's worth chancing VADAMIAH dropped to this level.

17:30 Curragh Maiden 10f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Although somewhat disappointing at Dundalk last time, BARD OF AVON is worth another chance on the basis of his reappearance fourth over C&D on his previous start. The winner of that latter race easily landed a premier handicap on Irish Champions Weekend, while the runner-up won her maiden next time. On the assumption that he is better suited to turf, the Joseph O'Brien-trained colt gets the vote. Navan runner-up Dahab, who boasts an identical official rating to the selection, has to be respected. The Denis Hogan-trained gelding was well supported when finding just one too strong on that occasion. Newcomer John Steinbeck also has to be considered in a contest where the majority of those to have previously raced appear vulnerable.

Following a debut full of promise, THEQUIETMAN wasn't seen to best effect when odds-on to land a Galway novice last time, denied a run at a crucial time. He's well worth another chance, possibly at the main expense of Daboya and newcomrt John Steinbeck.

JOHN STEINBECK won't have to be anything out of the ordinary to make a belated winning debut
