14:00 Lingfield Maiden (Class 5) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A somewhat disappointing favourite when third at Kempton last time out, CANDYMAN STAN still sets the standard on form, and Oisin Murphy taking over in the saddles is a major plus. A winner of two of his last three starts in the jumps sphere, Colours On Canvas should be monitored for market support as he makes his first start on the Flat, while Patch's Bond is likely to improve on an eye-catching debut effort at Kempton over 7f last month, when he made strong late ground from the rear.

CANDYMAN STAN shaped with encouragement when fourth on debut and, while he didn't improve on it at Kempton last time, he's worth another chance to open his account. His Finest Hour is an interesting newcomer on paper and Colours On Canvas has shown a good level of ability over obstacles, so they're both considered.

Another chance is given to CANDYMAN STAN. He was a disappointing favourite last time, but had shown promise on his Leicester debut.

14:10 Leicester Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Saint Riquier won under Joe Leavy over 1m4f at Lingfield recently and he merits respect from a 3lb higher mark. However, a drop in trip might not be his ideal scenario and, with that in mind, preference is for FOUGERE. The daughter of Bated Breath was narrowly denied in an apprentices' handicap at Yarmouth last time out when attempting to follow up her earlier success at Nottingham and, now that Ethan Jones can claim 5lb aboard the filly, she can go one better. Fillyfudge heads the remainder.

FOUGERE has a win and close second to her name since fitted with a hood and can get her head back in front here. Fillyfudge is another who has reacted well to headgear in recent starts and can give Dean Ivory's filly most to do ahead of Saint Riquier and Double Red.

Double Red, Fougere and Fillyfudge have a shout but SAINT RIQUIER, who had a long layoff, can continue to rebuild.

14:20 Catterick Handicap (Class 5) 14f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Disqualified for whip misuse having finished first past the post at Doncaster in July, SWIFT TUTTLE can gain compensation on this occasion off a 3lb higher mark. The son of Fast Company gets the vote ahead of course specialist The Dancing Poet and Kitsune Power, who drops down from class 3 company. The latter's stablemate Sameem took this prize 12 months ago under Emily Roberts.

THE DANCING POET goes particularly well here and has already scored twice this season. He makes most appeal. Swift Tuttle and Lindwall could be the principal dangers.

This can go to KITSUNE POWER, who is only 2lb higher than when winning in June and has been placed in higher-grade company since.

14:30 Lingfield Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

A creditable third off 1lb higher over 1m here last month, EIGHT MILE could be well suited by dropping back in trip on this occasion and the form of that contest has worked out extremely well in the interim, and . A winner here before, the four-year-old is narrowly preferred to No News, who wasn't beaten far over C&D last week and is turned out again quickly off the same mark. Global Warning's last win came over 7f in December and his most recent effort here over shorter wasn't without promise.

GLOBAL WARNING looked like a return to form was on the horizon here last time and he's down in grade from an appealing mark, so he's marginally preferred to in-form pair No News and Eight Mile.

The vote goes to EIGHT MILE whose third here ten days ago has been franked by the subsequent wins of the second and fourth.

14:40 Leicester Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Al Waseela was just touched off at Chelmsford last month and she enters calculations back on the grass, while Lolapalooza showed plenty more at Nottingham three weeks ago and is interesting now pitched into nurseries. However, the vote goes to LIRICIST. Tony Newcombe's filly was 13lb out of the handicap when winning at odds of 66/1 recently and he must shoulder a penalty today. There was no fluke about that performance, though, and he could repeat the dose.

AL WASEELA looks to have got off lightly with a 5 lb rise for Chelmsford given she was a long way clear of the rest. Last week's big-priced Chepstow winner Liricist can give her most to do.

Liricist and Al Waseela have reasonable claims but handicap newcomer D DAY HARLEY R might be about to take a step forward.

14:50 Catterick Handicap (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BIRKENHEAD has developed quite the love affair with this track, having scored on two of his last three starts over this C&D, including last time out. A 2lb rise for that success could prove lenient and he can double up at the main expense of Albegone, who remains on a winnable mark and was runner-up here recently. Having finished in the first three on three of her last four outings, the consistent Miss Anya is likely to be thereabouts as well.

Preference is for ALBEGONE, who has dropped to a decent mark and returned to form here last month. Birkenhead and Miss Anya should also go well.

The rain came just in time for a number of these, including GOOD POINT. Last year's winner Albegone holds decent claims too.

15:00 Lingfield Maiden (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

It is difficult to look past SAYIDAH DARIYAN, who made a highly-encouraging debut at Windsor last week when looking green throughout and finishing a close-up third. With improvement expected from that effort, she can get off the mark ahead of Loving Apprentice and Desert Eye, who may not have shown much first time out at Catterick but she is related to a few who have scored on the all-weather.

SAYIDAH DARIYAN showed plenty when third at Windsor on debut and, unless there's an above-average newcomer in opposition, she should be able to open her account 8 days on. Her stablemate The Thames Lady is interesting on paper and Nick of Time is another debutante to note.

This looks good for SAYIDAH DARIYAN who showed plenty of promise, and not a little greenness, when third on her recent Windsor debut.

15:10 Leicester Stakes (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

FORMAL's debut success had already been franked, but the form received yet another boost when the third-placed horse finished a creditable second at Listed level on Saturday. The daughter of Dubawi could prove too strong under a penalty with that in mind, and she is preferred to Orchid, who struck the woodwork on her racecourse debut at Kempton. Others to note include Storm Lady and Maybe Not.

FORMAL looked a good prospect on her Newbury debut and can defy a penalty under Ryan Moore. Orchid shaped well when second on her debut 4 weeks ago and is the obvious one to follow Sir Michael Stoute's charge home. Maybe Not can build on her opening run at Kempton and figure prominently, while Starlit Spice is a newcomer to monitor in the betting given her stable's good record with 2-y-os in 2024.

This looks a two-horse race between FORMAL and Orchid. Formal made a very positive impression at Newbury and is given the vote.

15:20 Catterick Handicap (Class 6) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

LAUDABLE followed up his opening success at Ayr with another 1m2f victory at Ripon last time, and the way he finished during both those victories gave every indication that he may relish going back up in distance now. Similar comments apply to Due Consideration, who has never raced over this far and has been in consistent form of late without winning. Narrowly denied over 1m6f here recently, Normandy Vista is another key player for connections that usually do well here.

NORMANDY VISTA has been given a chance by the handicapper and found some improvement when runner-up here last month. He can open his account. Laudable and Due Consideration are feared most.

The recent rain has probably done none of these any favours but DUE CONSIDERATION has won on good to soft and he should stay okay.

15:30 Lingfield Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

A few of these arrive with something to prove, but that can't be said for DUE DATE. Charlie Wallis' charge continued a decent spell of form when recording a narrow success at Southwell last month and a 2lb rise looks fair. Champion jockey elect Oisin Murphy gets aboard for the first time and he can continue his title charge. Purple Poppy had to race wider than ideal over C&D on Thursday but she can be involved should things pan out more favourably, while Bluebells Boy heads the remainder.

DUE DATE added to his productive season with a battling success at Southwell last time and, under another positive ride, he may be able to defy a rise for all that Purple Poppy is a danger from a basement mark. Bluebells Boy is another one to consider down in grade.

Tentative preference is for PURPLE POPPY, ahead of Due Date and Bluebells Boy.

15:35 Galway Maiden 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Blue-blooded TRINITY COLLEGE is out of a dual Guineas winner and while unlikely to be a star, has nice ability and can give his trainer an 18th success in this race. Well held on debut, he showed improvement in a useful Leopardstown maiden last month and is likely to front-run in first-time blinkers today. Medieval Night, out of a half-sister to a Group 2 winner, finished five-and-a-half lengths behind the selection at Leopardstown and while he was slowly away and met some minor traffic in the home straight, needs to find plenty improvement to beat the selection. Heldtoransom is out of a juvenile-Listed-placed dam while Ballydoyle's second-string Des Moines is out of a Group-placed dam.

TRINITY COLLEGE was much sharper second time up when fourth at Leopardstown and looks the one to beat with further improvement on the cards. His stablemate Des Moines is an interesting newcomer, as is Heldtoransom.

Soft ground is new territory for TRINITY COLLEGE but plenty by his sire handle it and he holds Medieval Knight on form.

15:44 Leicester Stakes (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Ryan Moore and Sir Michael Stoute team up with Archivist here and although the Dubawi colt was beaten close to six lengths on his debut, plenty of improvement is expected. He can go well along with Starzintheireyes, who finished second after a poor start at Newmarket on his only run and should have learned plenty from the experience, but SPIRIT OF SUMMER may be worth another chance. Second on debut and outclassed in a valuable maiden, he may find this level more to his liking.

STARZINTHEIREYES chased home Solario winner Field of Gold on his Newmarket debut in July and sets a high standard for the rest to aim at, particularly if making the expected improvement. Spirit of Summer can be forgiven his run in the Convivial at York and his second on Newmarket debut prior to that marks him down as a promising colt so he's second choice ahead of Archivist, who should be all the wiser with his Lingfield debut behind him. Binhareer looks the most interesting of the newcomers.

Although Spirit Of Summer has his sights lowered, ready preference is still for STARZINTHEIREYES who shaped so well two months ago.

15:52 Catterick Stakes (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BRAZILIAN ROSE made a winning debut at Lingfield where the 7f trip pushed her stamina to the limit. Richard Hughes' filly beat a couple of subsequent winners on that occasion, so that form looks rock-solid and she can defy a penalty over this shorter distance. Scarboroughwarning debuts on the turf and rates a threat on last month's second in a handicap over today's distance at Chelmsford, while Glowchester has shown some ability in a couple of starts over the minimum trip and is worth a second glance.

There should be more to come from BRAZILIAN ROSE, who was well supported when making a winning debut at Lingfield last month. She can follow up. Scarboroughwarning and Oligopoly are next best.

Brazilian Rose did well at Lingfield and dropping back to 6f won't harm, but conceding 9lb to SCARBOROUGHWARNING won't be easy.

16:00 Lingfield Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Havana Sky appeared to relish a drop in trip when landing a classified event over 6f at Thirsk last time out and the unexposed three-year-old should go close back in a handicap, but NORDIC GLORY gets the vote. The son of Cotai Glory bumped into an in-form rival at Brighton earlier this month and compensation could await from an unchanged rating. Lion Ring can chase that pair home.

HAVANA SKY wasn't fully extended when scoring at Thirsk recently and he's still unexposed so, with the potential for better again, he takes marginal preference over Nordic Glory, who came clear of the others when runner-up at Brighton 9 days ago. Lion Ring is also considered.

The vote goes to five-time course winner NORDIC GLORY (nap) who has been running well on turf lately.

16:05 Galway Stakes 8f  Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Course specialist CLEAR QUARTZ was an unlucky loser when attempting his second summer festival win in August. Ideally suited by soft ground, he met some trouble in-running on his latest start but finished well, has a particular fondness for here and looks sure to compete. San Aer also loves the Galway air and is chasing his third consecutive yearly win over today's course-and-distance. A four-time winner, he has won at consecutive October meetings (comprehensively beating the selection in 2022) and while beaten twice at the recent summer festival, ran well both times and relishes these conditions. Another course winner Monasterboice is open to further improvement being a three-year-old but competes from a career high mark and meets some older course pro's.

MONASTERBOICE hasn't looked back since front-running tactics have been employed and can make it 4 wins in a row under Colin Keane. Billy Lee gets the leg up on San Aer who is feared most ahead of Joseph O'Brien's Emporio. Casanova could also have a big say if staging a revival.

Preference is for CLEAR QUARTZ who won over this trip on the first of two festival outings and was unlucky over 7f later in the week

16:14 Leicester Handicap (Class 4) 10f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Both runnings of this contest so far have gone to three-year-olds and that trend may continue if EHTIRAM runs to her best. An easy winner over this trip at Chelmsford in June, she has weakened late on over further on both starts since but looks all set to make the most of a return to what seems her best distance. Laura Bay has won twice this season over this trip and appears a serious rival, as does C&D winner Salamanca City, who is equally hard to ignore.

David Menuisier has his team in form so LAURA BAY is taken to step up again and make it 3-4 in handicaps. Ciara Pearl has had an excellent season and may give her most to do ahead of Hot Fashion and Salamanca City, a last-time-out C&D winner.

Ciara Pearl continues to run well but the potential seems to lie principally with LAURA BAY (nap) and Salamanca City.

16:22 Catterick Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

One Of Our Own has already won three times over C&D and is not easily dismissed despite a further 4lb rise for his latest victory, but ALFA WHITEBURD is of more interest. Craig Lidster's sprinter ran well for a long way at Redcar on his seasonal debut and drops in grade with every chance off a 1lb lower mark. Crocodile Power and Highjacked are other course winners to consider, with the latter looking the more favourably handicapped of that pair.

ONE OF OUR OWN is fast becoming a Catterick specialist and she can record her fourth win from her last 5 starts. Tickets shaped well off his reduced mark when third at Southwell and is next best ahead of recent C&D scorer Crocodile Power.

The 4yo OPAL STORM (nap) didn't have the race run to suit last time at Beverley and this consistent filly is worth another go over 6f.

16:30 Lingfield Handicap (Class 5) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SUGARLOAF LENNY left it late to get up over 1m2f at Yarmouth recently. The son of Land Force ought to be even better over this longer trip on that evidence, and he is taken to shrug off a 2lb rise to double his tally. Francesco Baracca returned to form when on target at Kempton last month and he looks the main danger, while Open Secret should not be underestimated.

FRANCESCO BARACCA has been suited by a recent switch to AW, beating a subsequent winner when scoring at Kempton 2 weeks ago, and gets the vote over Open Secret, who's likely to have the run of things from the front.

Preference is for SUGARLOAF LENNY who has winning course form, while his second over 1m2f here in July has worked out well.

16:35 Galway Handicap 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

VICTOR'S CHOICE has the makings of a Galway soft-ground-specialist and might leave behind a disappointing run last month. Runner-up here last October, he beat Nans View, and older horses, to win at the recent summer festival and while both were well beaten subsequently, the selection had to come wide with his challenge at Leopardstown. Both horses will be much better suited to returning to soft ground today. Sylkie was a course festival winner when racing against his own age-group on heavy ground in August and has claims, despite being beaten when upped in distance at Tramore subsequently. Madame Plaintiff beat the selection to win in April but was well beaten here in July.

Ado McGuinness loves nothing more than a Galway winner and EDDIE G may be ready to strike after his good run in a big field at Leopardstown last month. An unexposed profile makes Joseph O'Brien's Whisper A Prayer an interesting contender. Sylkie, the mount of Colin Keane, and Purple Sky also make the shortlist.

A good run from 3lb out of the handicap at Killarney indicates that SEAS AND OCEANS can win a contest of this standard.

16:44 Leicester Handicap (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Two runnings of this have seen both winners racing from the three stall and that will be good news for the supporters of YAZAMAN, who is looking for his fifth win in a row after a comfortable success at Thirsk when last seen in July. He has been put up another 6lb for that victory but he looks worth following again, despite the rise in class. Cavalier Approach drops a grade in a first-time visor and he won't mind any cut in the ground, while Yarmouth winner Fletcher's Flight is another to take seriously.

YAZAMAN showed no sign of his purple patch ending anytime soon when completing 4-timer at Thirsk so remains one to keep on the right side of. Fletcher's Flight quickly resumed winning ways at Yarmouth on his first go at 5f and is next best ahead of Sound Reason.

Fletcher's Flight looks clearly the chief danger to YAZAMAN who can make it five wins in a row.

16:50 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Trainer Grant Tuer has his string in good form and in a race with no winning form to work with, CALEDONIAN DREAM has every chance. Third at Redcar in July and again last time out at Musselburgh, he races off 1lb lower here and that suggests he can get involved. Stable companion Shielas Well could be her main rival if she can bounce back to the level of her July and August seconds, while Charlie Johnson's Wedadi may improve on her handicap debut.

CALEDONIAN DREAM has races in him judged on his Musselburgh showing and could take this modest nursery. Stablemate Shielas Well and Force of Honour could also be in the hunt.

Shielas Well should make a bold bid but NEWTON LASS appeals as a potential improver now upped in trip for her nursery debut.

16:57 Catterick Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

MONKEY MISS had shown progressive form to land a double over today's distance before finding the mile trip on the Polytrack at Lingfield beyond her. She can resume winning ways off only 3lb higher than her latest success at Brighton. Highland Olly opened his account with a victory at Musselburgh and can go well again with Grant Tuer's yard firing in the winners of late, while Alfie Boy drops in class representing last year's winning trainer and any softening of the ground would bring him into the equation.

HALF MOON RISING responded well to this headgear when off the mark at Carlisle 3 weeks ago and shades the vote over Highland Olly, who also arrives on the back of a career-best win. Monkey Miss is best of the others.

This looks very open. HALF MOON RISING was good value for his win at Carlisle and he still looks well handicapped off 4lb higher.

17:05 Lingfield Handicap (Class 6) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

FOREVER PROUD scored over this C&D in May and is back off the same mark today. Fourth back here on her latest outing, she debuts for James Owen's in-form yard now and may prove the one to side with. Iftikhaar returns to this shorter trip with Oisin Murphy taking over the reins and is not out of it, while Lost In Time also drops in distance with a shout on the back of finishing second at Bath.

FOREVER PROUD has joined a stable that do well with new recruits and could add a third C&D win to her tally. Miss Harmony lurks on a tempting mark, while Star of Epsom could go well back on the polytrack.

Preference is for LOST IN TIME who is well berthed in stall four and who is 6lb lower than when winning here late last year.

17:10 Galway Maiden 7f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

MEDICI VENUS qualifies for this series despite costing 550,000 dollar as a yearling, is by a first-season-sire and while she is clearly no star, might continue her progression to win this ordinary contest. All-at-sea on debut, she showed much more in first-time blinkers at Naas and while well enough held at the line, had been hampered a furlong out. She is badly drawn in 16 but has the pedigree to continue progressing. Baltray Lady is dependable and proven on testing ground but is vulnerable to improving types. Raven Darkholme finished second in an ordinary soft-ground maiden here in August but was well held subsequently. Pickersgill contested a useful Curragh maiden on debut but was well held.

MEDICI VENUS left her debut well behind despite being badly hampered in the final 1f when fourth at Leopardstown and gets the vote over Tamam Desert, who made eye-catching late progress at Leopardstown on debut. Joseph O'Brien's pair Baltray Lady and Raven Darkholme are also in the mix if their latest outing can be forgiven.

Blinkers seemed to do the trick for MEDICI VENUS when she showed improved form at Naas and she is preferred to Raven Darkholme

17:17 Leicester Handicap (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Rambuso Creek warrants plenty of respect as the only course winner in this field, but both of his victories have been over shorter and his last run was an uninspiring last of 15. Papabella wasn't beaten far when third at Goodwood last month and she can go well off bottom-weight, so may prove the biggest danger to GUNDOGAN. A four-length novice win last time out was thoroughly deserved after some solid placed efforts, and a mark of 72 seems more than fair for his return to handicap company.

THE RIDLER had excuses at Newcastle last time and is worth another chance having only just failed at Doncaster the time before. Royal Musketeer has been knocking on the door of late and is next best ahead of Papabella.

This is much more competitive than the Carlisle novice GUNDOGAN won by 4l three weeks ago but he has scope to build on that success.

17:23 Newcastle Maiden (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Far From Dandy looks an interesting newcomer for the George Boughey stable as a son of Far Above, and any market support for him should be noted, a remark that also applies to Archie Watson's Shaman colt Shamador, although both will need to be above-average to get the better of PHILANTHROPIST. Runner-up and only beaten a neck on his second start when running on strongly over this trip, a little more progress may be all he needs to get off the mark at the third attempt.

PHILANTHROPIST was much improved from his Yarmouth debut when going close back there recently and could be hard to beat. Impartiality is a threat switched to AW, while Far From Dandy and Shamador are interesting newcomers.

Impartiality and PHILANTHROPIST set the standard and the latter may be open to the greater improvement.

17:30 Catterick Handicap (Class 6) 7f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

DESERT DREAM is a veteran at the age of 10, but that didn't stop him winning by four and a half lengths over C&D last month and if he runs to that same level of form, then a 6lb rise from the handicapper may not be enough to stop him. Obee Jo ran well when seventh in a better race at Carlisle last time out and he can go well as a four time C&D winner, leaving Doomsday and First Dynasty to battle for the final placing.

MR STRUTTER has been shaping quite well lately and is lower in the weights than for all 6 of his course wins, so he's taken to open his account for the season. Fellow veteran Desert Dream and Obee Joe head the dangers.

The recent rain is a major boost to the chances of MISS WILLOWS who is a different horse with cut underfoot and she likes it here.

17:35 Lingfield Handicap (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

KALAMUNDA has shown a marked preference for the all-weather tracks and only needed to be pushed out to regain the winning thread at Southwell. Equally effective on the Polytrack, a 5lb penalty may not be enough to anchor Joseph Parr's inmate in his double bid. Jazzy Angel won at Wolverhampton in February and will be sharper for last month's reappearance at Newmarket, while Darvel remains unexposed on artificial surfaces and is only 2lb higher than when last successful on turf.

KALAMUNDA looks ahead of the handicapper under a penalty for his ready Southwell win and can make it 4-4 on AW. Francesi could be interesting back at Lingfield, while Jazzy Angel has looked better on AW and should have come on for last month's Newmarket return.

The choice is KALAMUNDA who did it nicely at Southwell seven days ago. A 5lb penalty may not stop him from making it 4-4 on the AW.

17:45 Galway Handicap 7f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

LORD RAVEN ran well on handicap debut last month and is very much proven on testing ground. Out of a Listed-placed dam, he showed promise in maidens and while well held by the winner at Roscommon in August, had a six-time more experienced horse behind in third-place and can progress with racing. Kinda Tiny won over today's course-and-distance in October and again won at Gowran eight days ago but has been hiked back up to a 61 rating and needs to overcome a poor draw in 17. Eight-time winner Sirjack Thomas has been running well and has an excellent course record but reverting back to this distance, aged nine, isn't ideal.

LORD RAVEN posted a good effort in second on his handicap debut behind a classy gambled-on winner at Roscommon 3 weeks ago and looks the way to go off the same mark. Kinda Tindy and Selective Power are a couple of the other likely types.

LORD RAVEN did well on handicap debut from a wide draw at Roscommon last time and is better drawn today.

18:00 Newcastle Handicap (Class 5) 10f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Titainium is one to consider after battling back to win at Redcar, and with his 100 per cent all-weather record after scoring here as a two-year-old. He can go well despite a 4lb rise, but giving 10lb to SOLAR BENTLEY may be a big ask. An easy winner at Ffos Las 11 days ago, he is 7lb higher now but if he can repeat that run on the all-weather today, then he could follow up. Yippee might get the better of Sarmiento Power in the race for third.

TITAINIUM possibly isn't the most straightforward given how he hung at Redcar, but that was another step forward over this trip and having scored comfortably here in June he could be set to win again. Sarmiento Power is the obvious danger now going handicapping up in trip for Roger Varian.

Sarmiento Power is respected but TITAINIUM (nap) has kicked on since upped to 1m2f and won easily on his sole AW start.

18:05 Catterick Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Mutanaaseq landed this race last year off a mark of 67 and although he has not won in 12 outings since, he races off 10lb lower now and cannot be ignored. He can go well, but RAIN CAP has also won here (four times) and was only beaten a short-head off 1lb lower over C&D last month. He could go one better now with a clear run, although Penny Ghent is one to watch in first-time cheekpieces, despite carry 1lb more than her allotted mark.

JOHN KIRKUP hasn't won for nearly a year but he did well under the circumstances on his most recent outing over C&D, having raced closer to the pace than ideal, and strikes as the most appealing option. Rain Cap can have a big say if backing up his latest effort, while Homer Stokes is capable fresh, so is another to consider returning from a break.

With the recent rain in his favour and having won after an even longer break in the past, HOMER STOKES is worth chancing.

18:15 Galway Listed 12f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

English runner ROUGE SELLIER routed ordinary Kempton rivals in July and contests a lesser Listed race than last-time, albeit draw wide in 15. She has soft-ground form and while well held at Hamilton, that winner easily landed a subsequent Group 3 while the runner-up had previously contested the English Derby. Andromeda is a Galileo-sired sister to Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Peaceful and chased home Opera Singer on debut. An easy course-and-distance soft-ground winner last month, the runner-up has since won a maiden and while rated just 89 and debuting at stakes level, should progress. Scarlett O'Hara finished second in a Clairefontaine Listed race in July but is vulnerable running in first-time blinkers and from a wide draw in 16.

SCARLETT O'HARA only found an improver too good in France last time and she's worth a chance to make the breakthrough at listed level now. Rouge Sellier's Kempton win sticks in the mind and she remains with potential after an excusable run at Hamilton, so she's regarded as the main danger ahead of Enfranchise.

GALILEO DAME is nicely berthed and these conditions will suit, while this is a drop in grade from the Irish Oaks, so can prevail.

18:30 Newcastle Handicap (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

THE REAL MCKAY resumed winning ways when fitted with a tongue-tie at Kempton. There should be more to come in the headgear and Ivan Furtado's unexposed filly looks worth sticking with. Asimov found the competition too hot at Newmarket last time, but can feature back at this level with cheekpieces added to the usual tongue-tie, while the lightly-raced Juicy is one to keep an eye on attempting 6f for the first time and is taken to reverse latest running here with Lady Celia.

SIR OLIVER hasn't been in much form on turf of late but he's always been a more interesting proposition on the AW and the assessor has given him a major chance. The Real Mckay was better than ever when winning at Kempton 3 weeks ago so she commands respect, along with Juicy, who could improve for 6f.

Sir Oliver is on a dangerous mark but JUICY leaves the impression a bigger effort is around the corner.

18:45 Galway Handicap 12f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

AVONDALE has a useful Flat pedigree and can defy a 6lb rise for winning last month. He has progressed nicely this summer and while well held at Tipperary in early August, met trouble in-running. He seemed well suited by testing ground when making all to win at Roscommon and can continue to progress. Three-year-old Moutarde has been busy this summer and seemed to progress when upped to this distance, on easy ground, recently. He can continue to progress but is 10lb higher than when winning well at Roscommon. Palo Duro is open to vast improvement as he steps up markedly in distance, having stayed on from off the pace over a mile here in July.

Following a hurdles win, GRANN'S BOY was a bit disappointing at Tramore 3 weeks ago but he's worth another chance from what is a handy Flat mark. Avondale and Moutarde have both been hit hard by the assessor for last-time-out wins but they are clearly in form so need treating as threats.

Recent Roscommon winners Avondale and MOUTARDE are of most interest, with preference for the last-named.

19:00 Newcastle Stakes (Class 5) 8f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Barefoot Warrior and Lattaash won at Thirsk and Southwell respectively, with the latter preferred today having been subsequently gelded. However, both are penalised for this and STANAGE can make the most of the weight concession, as he was only beaten a neck when upped to a mile at Windsor latest and first-time cheekpieces may spark further improvement. Buon Viaggio showed promise when fourth at Chelmsford on his debut and normal progress could see him in the mix.

BAREFOOT WARRIOR was value for extra when confirming the promise of his debut at Thirsk back at that venue a month ago and with the promise of lots more to come, he's selected to defy a penalty. Lattaash is bred to be useful and hopes are high that he will reach that level after a winning start at Southwell, while Stanage should be in the mix again.

Lots of possibles but the once-raced pair BUON VIAGGIO and Lattaash could be open to the greatest improvement.

19:15 Galway Maiden 12f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Found's sister RUBIES ARE RED has disappointed since showing early promise but contests a winnable maiden and can turn juvenile course form with Kisiyra. The selection finished second to Irish Oaks winner You Got To Me at Lingfield in May and while well beaten in top races afterwards, at least she ran to the line at Bellewstown last month. Kisiyra has disappointed this year and was too keen when disappointing at Roscommon last month. Saol Gaelach showed improved form in similar conditions at Roscommon while Radar Ahead faces a tougher maiden here. Sulaiyma, from the family of Sinndar and a half-sister to a Group 3 winner, makes a belated debut but her trainer does well at this venue.

RADAR AHEAD caught the eye after a slow start when third in a maiden at Ballinrobe 78 days ago and she may be able to improve enough to get the better of Rubies Are Red, who just about sets the standard at the weights. Sulaiyma is a notable newcomer.

The Lingfield Oaks Trial runner-up RUBIES ARE RED could not be a confident choice after a Bellewestown defeat but may redeem herself

19:30 Newcastle Handicap (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A slow start at Ayr last time may have cost Wetherby winner EMINENT JEWEL another victory, given she was beaten less than a length in third. Richard Fahey's filly is still learning and gets another chance today as she's allowed to race off the same mark. Flavour Maker stayed on well at Kempton to force a dead-heat for first and should be thereabouts at the finish once again, while Petra Celera showed further progress when successful at Southwell but has a 5lb rise to contend with.

EMINENT JEWEL did well to finish as close as she did after blowing the start at Ayr when last seen in June, a performance that gives the strong indication she's better than her mark if breaking on terms. Havanarama and Petra Celera are just a couple of potential threats.

Jackson Street is respected but EMINENT JEWEL did well to finish as close last time and remains open to improvement.

20:00 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

BICEP was almost able to exploit a sliding handicap mark when filling the runner-up spot at Southwell last Tuesday. Grant Tuer's charge drops in class from 2lb lower today and this looks a good opportunity to go one better. Keep Me Stable won over C&D last time out and she looks the main danger under her penalty, while others to note include Saisons D'Or, Streak Lightning and Novak.

KEEP ME STABLE travelled with real purpose when recording C&D win number 3 under talented claimer Tommie Jakes a week ago and there's no real desire to look elsewhere. Bicep and Novak seem likely to give their running so are perhaps the pick of the opposition.

After winning with a fair bit in hand here last week, KEEP ME STABLE is taken to follow up with a penalty.

20:30 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

This would appear to be fairly open, and a chance can be taken on TRIPLE FORCE. Craig Lidster's three-year-old struggled in a warm York handicap in May before being far from disgraced in two races since then. He's had a tendency to run freely, though, so if a first-time hood may enable him to race more amenably, then he could be more competitive. Strangerontheshore has been running well in defeat of late and she's entitled to be thereabouts, along with Havana Smoke, while King Sharja struggled on soft ground recently but he can be forgiven for that display.

HAVANA SMOKE stuck to his task well when runner-up at Beverley last time and with this straight 1m promising to suit, he's just about the most persuasive option. Love Warrior has transferred from one good yard to another and he's not yet exposed, with Strangersontheshore completing the shortlist.

An open race in which KING SHARJA can bounce back from a low-key run on slow turf. Havana Smoke is feared most.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
