The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
This looks like an ideal opportunity for Irish raider SHE'S QUALITY, following a strong runner-up effort at the Curragh last time out. She can get off the mark at the fourth time of asking, with costly newcomer Romantic Style and promising Salisbury third Star Music looking best placed to chase her home. Assema and Looking For Queen can also have a say in proceedings.
SHE'S QUALITY sets a near-useful standard so should prove hard to beat in what looks a thin maiden for the track. Star Music made a promising debut when third at Salisbury so rates the main threat, though market support for Charlie Appleby's expensive newcomer Romantic Style would look significant.
Irish challenger SHE'S QUALITY has shown strong form at the Curragh on more than one occasion and is taken to get off the mark.

1st (8) (11/1 +0%) Bollin Margaret |
11/1(+0%) | (8) Bollin Margaret 11/1, C&D winner. Latest win at Pontefract in July. Seventh of 11 in handicap at Windsor (11.4f, good to firm, 33/1) 12 days ago. Rather hit and miss lately and there's not much wiggle room off this mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (4.5/1 -80%) Tele Red |
4.5/1(-80%) | (2) Tele Red 4.5/1, Latest win at York in July. Respectable third of 11 in handicap (13/8) at Pontefract (8f, good) chasing a hat-trick 20 days ago. Back up in trip and mark now looks about right but he's clearly in excellent order. Better than ever of late, looking a bit unlucky last time; holds leading claims once more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (3.33/1 +39%) Tarbaan |
3.33/1(+39%) | (5) Tarbaan 3.33/1, Creditable fourth of 11 in handicap (5/1) at Redcar (10f, good to firm) on Saturday. Likely to give it another good go. Offering more off today's career-low mark lately but this race looks a bit stronger. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (6.5/1 -86%) Unplugged |
6.5/1(-86%) | (7) Unplugged 6.5/1, Two wins from 4 runs this year. Latest win at Pontefract in July. Third of 5 in handicap at Haydock (10.2f, good to firm, 10/11) 18 days ago. Clearly going through a very good spell. Maybe found this mark beyond him when beaten at a short price last time; 7lb claimer up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (6.5/1 +35%) Dungar Glory |
6.5/1(+35%) | (1) Dungar Glory 6.5/1, C&D winner. Latest win at Leicester in June. 9/1, eighth of 12 in handicap at this course (8f, good to soft) 10 days ago. Back up in trip. Has to be taken seriously down in class. Made all off 6lb lower over C&D in June; return to this trip should suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (8.5/1 -13%) King Triton |
8.5/1(-13%) | (3) King Triton 8.5/1, Good fifth of 13 in handicap at Doncaster (10.2f, good to firm, 20/1) 10 days ago. That was much more like it following a disappointing 2022 campaign. and he's potentially well handicapped. Low mileage; better from the front on his comeback and that gave something to build on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (5.5/1 +8%) Bringbackmemories |
5.5/1(+8%) | (4) Bringbackmemories 5.5/1, Winner at Haydock in June. 9/1, ninth of 11 in handicap at Haydock (10.2f, heavy) 23 days ago. Ground a potential excuse as he'd been in excellent order prior to that. Didn't see it out on heavy last time; previously in good form for last year's winning yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (66/1 -100%) Cedar Rapids |
66/1(-100%) | (10) Cedar Rapids 66/1, One win from 26 Flat runs. Fourteen runs since last win in 2022. Last of 7 in handicap at Catterick (12.1f, good, 25/1) 34 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Not easy to make a case for. This is tougher than the races he's been contesting of late; 3lb out of the handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (25/1 -56%) Master Of Combat |
25/1(-56%) | (9) Master Of Combat 25/1, Sixth of 9 in handicap (11/1) at Newmarket (10f, good to firm) 18 days ago, lacking a change of pace. Not running badly since returned to turf; holds each-way claims in an open handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) (8.5/1 +29%) Magical Mile |
8.5/1(+29%) | (6) Magical Mile 8.5/1, Bit below form 7¼ lengths sixth of 10 to Bringbackmemories in handicap (7/1) at Haydock (10.2f, good to firm) 66 days ago. Showed enough in early summer to suggest he wants considering back from a two-month break. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
UNPLUGGED was thwarted in his hat-trick bid at Haydock earlier in the month, but apprentice Lewis Chalkley now takes off 7lb and can get the in-form seven-year-old back on the winning trail. Tele Red was also unable to land a three-timer when third at Pontefract last time, but should not be taken lightly now eased in class. Bringbackmemories may appreciate quicker conditions and also enters the reckoning.
Quite a few to consider with KING TRITON just about the most persuasive option for his in-form yard on the back of a promising reappearance from his reduced mark. Tele Red and Unplugged both came up short in their respective hat-trick bids last time but remain of firm interest.
Better than ever this year, TELE RED is preferred to Magical Mile, a dual 1m2f winner last summer for Benoit De La Sayette.

1st (8) (4.5/1 +55%) Art Historian |
4.5/1(+55%) | (8) Art Historian 4.5/1, Fitted with cheekpieces but looked short of pace over 6f when fifth at Newmarket a month ago. Return to 7f has to be in his favour. In top hands and perhaps he'll improve for having been gelded. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (10) (12/1 -50%) Mitwaa |
12/1(-50%) | (10) Mitwaa 12/1, Bred to be a useful sprinter but fairly low-key start, in a trio of 6f contests. Is in excellent hands and could easily get on the up now handicapping. Disappointing since encouraging debut here, but may get back on track in his first nursery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (11) (33/1 -65%) She Wore No Jewels |
33/1(-65%) | (11) She Wore No Jewels 33/1, Attracted support and offered something to work on when third in a Goodwood maiden (6f, good to firm) on debut. Shaped as though amiss when well held at Doncaster but finished off her race with more purpose at Salisbury latest. Well beaten the last twice but she's a possible if tapping back into her debut promise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (40/1 -300%) Faster Bee |
40/1(-300%) | (4) Faster Bee 40/1, Looked to be learning in his qualifying runs but assessor certainly taken no chances with his opening mark. Not obviously well treated for nursery debut but he's one to watch in the market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (12/1 -140%) American Tale |
12/1(-140%) | (9) American Tale 12/1, Improved form off a break/gelding operation when making a winning nursery debut at Kempton (1m) a fortnight ago, always holding on. Possesses scope to go on improving. Won at Kempton (1m, AW) a fortnight ago on nursery debut & could still have more to offer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (2.5/1 +9%) Loaded Quiver |
2.5/1(+9%) | (3) Loaded Quiver 2.5/1, Displayed a very willing attitude when making third start a winning one at Brighton 3 weeks ago. Still not the finished article and opening mark could be lenient with cheekpieces added. Won Brighton maiden last time and could be the type to benefit from first-time cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (5.5/1 +54%) Overlooked |
5.5/1(+54%) | (2) Overlooked 5.5/1, Backward step when fifth of 11 in novice company at York a month ago. Mark demands more on balance of his form. Has shown promise (including here) but has to raise game to win off nursery debut mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (7.5/1 -15%) Knicks |
7.5/1(-15%) | (7) Knicks 7.5/1, More like it fitted with cheekpieces when second of 5 at Ayr last month (5.5f). Upped in trip for nursery debut and he's one to consider. Represents powerful 2yo trainer and interesting contender now up in trip on nursery debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (12) (125/1 -400%) Land Of Magic |
125/1(-400%) | (12) Land Of Magic 125/1, Proved virtually unrideable on his Lingfield nursery debut but fitted with a hood, she got back on track in no uncertain terms when winning 4-runner nursery at Sandown. Weakened out of it in a 6f contest here 11 days ago and profile looks patchy. Won four-runner nursery at Sandown but fifth of five here subsequently. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) (25/1 -108%) Anonymous Guest |
25/1(-108%) | (6) Anonymous Guest 25/1, Continued thee of race-by-race progress at Yarmouth a fortnight ago. Switches to a nursery with yard among the winners. Could continue to progress now in nurseries and he's not discounted for in-form yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (1) (9/1 -38%) This Time Maybe |
9/1(-38%) | (1) This Time Maybe 9/1, Half-brother to several winners, including smart 1m/9f winner in US Dicey Mo Chara and useful winner up to 8.3f Rodrigo de Torres. Travelled well under a positive ride when runner-up at Windsor 16 days ago. Did hang badly left on that occasion and now switches to a nursery. Runner-up at Windsor last time and he's respected on nursery debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (5) (10/1 +17%) Ihopeyoulike |
10/1(+17%) | (5) Ihopeyoulike 10/1, No better than fifth in 3 starts at up to 7f but nurseries a more suitable assignment with headgear reached for. Mid-division on first three starts; headgear and Buick booked on nursery debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
LOADED QUIVER deservedly got off the mark when just holding on at Brighton last time out and he sets the standard on the back of that effort. Conditions look to be in his favour once more and Archie Watson's charge is narrowly preferred to This Time Maybe, who ran a career best when second at Windsor over further. Kempton winner American Tale and Knicks can also go well.
LOADED QUIVER found extra for pressure when landing the odds at Brighton 3 weeks ago, and from a very workable opening mark, he's selected to follow up. American Tale also won last time and he possesses plenty of scope, with Mitwaa likely to do better now allotted a mark.
Brighton maiden winner LOADED QUIVER could be suited by the first-time cheekpieces on his nursery debut and he earns the vote.

1st (1) (2/1 -14%) Due For Luck |
2/1(-14%) | (1) Due For Luck 2/1, Promising sort. 9/1, won 9-runner maiden at Carlisle (5f, good to soft) on debut 62 days ago, readily. Open to progress. Won easily on debut at Carlisle two months ago; holds solid claims under a small penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (1.62/1 +60%) South Shore |
1.62/1(+60%) | (7) South Shore 1.62/1, Blue Point colt. Dam 7f winner. Makes plenty of appeal on paper for a stable more than capable of readying one. Betting shuld guide. Yard's strike-rate with 2yos down this year but good record here; watch the market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (40/1 -150%) Fifty Grand Slater |
40/1(-150%) | (3) Fifty Grand Slater 40/1, Fair form. 18/1 and blinkered first time, good second of 8 in nursery at Wolverhampton (5f) 12 days ago. More will be needed now back in a novice. More on his plate today; would have been 15lb better off with Instant Recall in a handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (50/1 -25%) Bill's Baar |
50/1(-25%) | (2) Bill's Baar 50/1, 50/1, sixth of 8 in novice at this course (6f, good, 50/1) on debut 10 days ago. Rather in at the deep end on his recent 6f debut here; this too is probably beyond him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (4.5/1 -64%) Saint Matthew |
4.5/1(-64%) | (6) Saint Matthew 4.5/1, 8/1, second of 9 in maiden at Pontefract (6f, good) on debut 20 days ago, leading for long way and pulling clear of rest. Open to improvement. Came away with the more experienced winner on debut; goes on the shortlist. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (6/1 -80%) Instant Recall |
6/1(-80%) | (4) Instant Recall 6/1, Second in a 5f Haydock novice in June and ran well in the face of a stiff task when eighth of 20 in the Newbury Super Sprint last month. Not beaten far on his side of the course in the Super Sprint last time but is exposed now. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Instant Recall was far from disgraced when eighth in the Super Sprint at Newbury last month and should be involved if producing a similar level of performance here. Nevertheless, DUE FOR LUCK made a big impression when successful on his debut at Carlisle in June, with John Quinn's gelding taken to defy a 3lb penalty. Saint Matthew offered plenty of encouragement when runner-up effort at Pontefract three weeks ago and also enters calculations now dropped to 5f.
DUE FOR LUCK looked potentially useful when a ready winner on his Carlisle debut in June and is taken give the weight away to Instant Recall and Saint Matthew. Newcomer South Shore would also need considering if the betting speaks for him.
There was plenty to like about the way DUE FOR LUCK strung them out on debut and he can defy the 3lb concession to Saint Matthew.

1st (12) (33/1 -230%) King's Code |
33/1(-230%) | (12) King's Code 33/1, Did well to score having conceded first run in first-time cheekpieces at Bath (1m) in June and steady gallop didn't place to his strengths when midfield in 12-runner handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f) later that month. Changed yards/gelded since but drop in trip may not be ideal. Makes stable after ten weeks off having been gelded in the meantime; market useful. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (16/1 -33%) Restrict |
16/1(-33%) | (4) Restrict 16/1, Campaigned exclusively on AW to date, landing a Wolverhampton maiden and best effort yet when landing Kempton handicap (7f) in March. Entitled to be sharper for first start for 5 months (also gelded) at Lingfield 2 weeks ago and interesting what the market makes of him. Engaged 5.20 Epsom Monday. Two wins on AW in March, but well held on recent return; something to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (22/1 -267%) Change Sings |
22/1(-267%) | (10) Change Sings 22/1, Promise in maiden/novice company and despite being very easy to back, showed improved form to make a winning handicap debut at Kempton (7f) 3 weeks ago, enjoying the run of things but finding extra. From an excellent family and surprise where he not capable of better still. 5lb higher than for successful handicap debut at Kempton last time; a player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (6/1 +14%) Dark Desire |
6/1(+14%) | (9) Dark Desire 6/1, Clearly over whatever ailed her on debut last summer when running out a good winner of a Haydock maiden (7f) in July. Couldn't replicate that level when fourth under a penalty at Thirsk (1m, heavy) 24 days ago but it remains early days and switch to handicaps a plus now. Winning return at Haydock last month, but didn't back it up last time; handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (5/1 +50%) Flying Spirit |
5/1(+50%) | (7) Flying Spirit 5/1, AW nursery winner last winter who has made a good start on turf, twice finishing runner up in 1m handicaps prior to getting off the mark at Lingfield (7f) earlier this month, staying on to lead line. Rider's claim off-sets his rise in weights and that may not be his limit. Raised 3lb for latest Lingfield win, but this more galloping track is in his favour. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (11/1 -29%) Nogo's Dream |
11/1(-29%) | (8) Nogo's Dream 11/1, AW maiden winner back in March who has the ability to defy this sort of mark, shaping as if still in good form when fifth of 8 in handicap at Lingfield (7f, AW) 2 weeks ago. Equally as effective on turf and he's an each-way player again tackling 7f. In the frame in five of his seven handicaps, but mark remains fairly static as a result. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (6/1 +40%) Lord Uhtred |
6/1(+40%) | (1) Lord Uhtred 6/1, Confirmed previous promise when landing an AW novice (7f) on final start last season. Yet to fully fire in trio of handicaps, including when seventh of 11 at Kempton (7f) 13 days ago (following 3 months off/having been gelded). This should reveal more. Out of the frame in all three handicaps since returning; has enough to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (9/1 -20%) Overnight Oats |
9/1(-20%) | (6) Overnight Oats 9/1, Off the mark at Carlisle (6.9f) in July and displayed a brilliant attitude when following up at Sandown (7f) later last month. Respectable second in 3-runner event at Ffos Las (7.3f, soft) since and expected to give another good account for all this rates tougher. Record since hood applied reads 3112; possible that soft ground found him out last time. |

9th (13) (18/1 -112%) Art Of Romance |
18/1(-112%) | (13) Art Of Romance 18/1, Good looking son of Caravaggio who displayed promise when second on debut in a Newmarket maiden (7f) on debut in April. Not in same form either start after but likely he remains capable of better now handicapping/having been gelded. Hood on 1st time and he's one to note. Hasn't built on a promising debut; makes handicap debut with a hood enlisted; watch market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) (3/1 +50%) Captain Cuddles |
3/1(+50%) | (2) Captain Cuddles 3/1, Landed 6f Salisbury novice last summer and returned from a short break in good heart, producing best effort yet when runner-up in a C&D handicap 11 days ago, no match for winner but clear of the remainder. Big shout with Ryan Moore aboard. Placed in both starts since being gelded and races off same mark; win came on good to firm. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (3) (8.5/1 +61%) Monopolise |
8.5/1(+61%) | (3) Monopolise 8.5/1, Ended 2022 on the up winning nurseries at Newmarket and Kempton and best effort yet when landing 7-runner Yarmouth handicap (1m) in July. Has run somewhat disappointingly both starts since though and present mark demands a little more. Well held the last twice and particularly poor at Goodwood last time; needs to bounce back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (11) (25/1 -317%) Majestic Newlaw |
25/1(-317%) | (11) Majestic Newlaw 25/1, Progressed with each start in novice events, runner-up over 6f at Chepstow last summer. Ran below best when sixth in 8-runner nursery at Epsom on final start but gelded subsequently and booking of Marquand an eye-catching one returning from 11 months off. Returns from 11 months off having been gelded in the meantime; watch market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (5) (100/1 -355%) Ellexis |
100/1(-355%) | (5) Ellexis 100/1, Off the mark with plenty in hand switched to all-weather at Lingfield on second and final outing at 2 yrs. However, she's yet to replicate that level of form in trio of starts so far this campaign, well held eighth of 9 in handicap at Ascot (7f) 45 days ago. Has beaten a total of one rival in three starts since returning; best watched for now. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
A determined winner at Lingfield last time out following a pair of solid runner-up efforts, FLYING SPIRIT looks the one to beat again and he can notch up a third career victory on just his sixth career outing on turf. That may be at the main expense of the unexposed Dark Desire and Captain Cuddles, who ran his best race as a three-year-old when runner-up over C&D last time out.
CAPTAIN CUDDLES has returned from a short break in very good order, finding only one who improved markedly too strong over C&D 11 days ago. Nicely on top of the remainder then, he gets the nod to prove his mark a workable one. Change Sings was seen to good effect when scoring on handicap debut at Kempton but he's a well-bred type who can do better again and is feared. Dark Desire and Lord Uhtred are others to monitor.
The vote goes to CAPTAIN CUDDLES who has run well off this mark in both starts since being gelded.

1st (4) (5/1 -67%) Chumbaa |
5/1(-67%) | (4) Chumbaa 5/1, Finally off the mark in 6-runner maiden at Hamilton (6f, good to soft) 15 days ago, leading before halfway and drawing clear gradually. Into nurseries now and ought to remain competitive. Relatively exposed but very likely to run her race and worth respect on nursery debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (3/1 +0%) Be Here Now |
3/1(+0%) | (6) Be Here Now 3/1, Showed improved form when third of 9 on nursery debut at Musselburgh (5f, good) 35 days ago, despite not being ideally placed. May do better still. Finished a close third on nursery debut at Musselburgh five weeks ago; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (3.5/1 +68%) Scoops Ahoy |
3.5/1(+68%) | (1) Scoops Ahoy 3.5/1, Winner at Hamilton in June and returned to form when second of 4 at Sandown earlier in the month. However, ran below form switched to all-weather at Wolverhampton 12 days ago and looks vulnerable once again. Tongue strap on for 1st time. In and out of late and others are more convincing; tongue-tie on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (10/1 -67%) Vitarli |
10/1(-67%) | (2) Vitarli 10/1, Confirmed debut promise when winning novice event at Beverley (5f) in April, rallying to lead near finish. Found out under a penalty at Goodwood since and now goes handicapping after a break. Still unexposed and respected on nursery debut if break has done her good. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (6.5/1 -63%) Reflexion Faite |
6.5/1(-63%) | (3) Reflexion Faite 6.5/1, Lightly-raced maiden who backed up her Sandown effort when third of 9 in minor event at Thirsk (5f, good to firm) 18 days ago, well drawn. Makes handicap debut and should go well. Steadily progressing and respected if taking another step forward on nursery debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (20/1 -233%) Lotting's Lass |
20/1(-233%) | (7) Lotting's Lass 20/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Sixth of 7 in maiden (22/1) at Musselburgh (5f, good) 55 days ago. May do better now tackling a low-grade nursery. Seems to be struggling to stay the minimum trip; nursery debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (4/1 +43%) Tees Douge |
4/1(+43%) | (5) Tees Douge 4/1, Showed improved form while looking a bit tricky when third on nursery debut at Catterick in July. Not disgraced at Musselburgh subsequently but again looked a hard ride. Behind Be Here Now at Musselburgh last time; has shown a tendency to hang. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Chumbaa put her experience to good use when scoring in a maiden at Hamilton recently and her mark looks workable. However, BE HERE NOW makes slightly more appeal after finishing third on his nursery debut at Musselburgh and may be able to make light work of a 2lb rise in the ratings. Vitarli and Reflexion Faite have claims on their best form now entering this sphere too.
REFLEXION FAITE was unlucky to bump into Miaharris on her penultimate start at Sandown and looks interesting on that piece of form now switching to a low-level nursery, so she receives the vote. The dangers are headed by Be Here Now, who may do better still, and recent Hamilton-scorer Chumbaa.
The vote goes to REFLEXION FAITE who has improved with each start. The form of her last two efforts has been franked.

1st (9) (2.25/1 +65%) Crack Shot |
2.25/1(+65%) | (9) Crack Shot 2.25/1, Son of Kingman who got off the mark in 1m Nottingham maiden in June. Creditable second at Hamilton next time and not disgraced when fifth of 15 in a Class 2 at the Glorious Goodwood meeting on his handicap debut. Respected. Faded over 1m2f on soft on handicap debut; possible improver under today's conditions. |

2nd (1) (2.75/1 -22%) Classic |
2.75/1(-22%) | (1) Classic 2.75/1, Useful 7f winner at 2. Not up to Group 3 level in the Greenham on his C&D reappearance but back on track in handicaps since, winning over 7f at Sandown before shaping better than the bare result here (7f) last time, left with too much to do. Remains one to be interested in. 3yo who has potential now back up to 1m and is firmly in calculations. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (11/1 -10%) Metabolt |
11/1(-10%) | (2) Metabolt 11/1, Won first 2 starts of the campaign and only narrowly failed to reel in one who was well in on hat-trick bid at Haydock. Found good run halted at Galway but shaped as if back in form when sixth of 13 at Windsor (8.1f) 12 days ago, not knocked about. Player. Two wins earlier in season and suffered trouble in running at Windsor latest; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (10/1 -18%) Cabinet Of Clowns |
10/1(-18%) | (4) Cabinet Of Clowns 10/1, Showed a willing attitude to get off the mark for the season at Newmarket in June and got back on the up in first-time blinkers when digging deep to land 12-runner event at Chepstow (8.1f) 19 days ago. Should remain competitive. Won in first-time blinkers at Chepstow and could have more to offer in the headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (12/1 -100%) Monte Linas |
12/1(-100%) | (7) Monte Linas 12/1, Made a winning debut at Chelmsford in April and cast aside a couple of heavy defeats in handicap company when landing 12-runner contest at York in July. Seemed unsuited by conditions at Sandown on most recent outing, so better judged on previous form. Lightly raced 3yo; won at York last month; testing going may have been too much at Sandown. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (50/1 -127%) Intervention |
50/1(-127%) | (10) Intervention 50/1, Twenty one runs since last win in 2022 but wasn't seen to best effect when seventh of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 11 days ago, racing well off the pace after awkward start. Significantly back up in trip. Fair third over 8.4f in May but he's probably better served by a shorter trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (7/1 +30%) Island Bandit |
7/1(+30%) | (3) Island Bandit 7/1, Proved better than ever when doubling his tally for the year in 11-runner handicap (6/1) at Sandown (8f, good) 9 days ago, albeit with the run of the race. Merits respect under a 5-lb penalty. Two-time course winner who showed career-best form when winning at Sandown recently. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (6.5/1 +0%) Sea Eagle |
6.5/1(+0%) | (6) Sea Eagle 6.5/1, Continued theme of race-by-race progress when landing 7-runner maiden at Chelmsford in October. Most likely needed his recent Goodwood reappearance and this will reveal more. Unexposed 3yo who is open to improvement for his top trainer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (18/1 +0%) Remarkable Force |
18/1(+0%) | (8) Remarkable Force 18/1, Sharp juvenile (won first 2 starts) but failed to progress thereafter last term. However, arrives here having run easily his best race of this campaign when third at Sandown (7f) 19 days ago. Step up to 1m worth exploring and must enter calculations. Third over 7f at Sandown recently; remains to be seen if this 3yo will see out 1m. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
ISLAND BANDIT ticks a lot of boxes with two wins from three starts here, one over this trip, and, as the four-year-old also handles the predicted going, he seems to have every chance. He took a similar race last time out at Sandown and, although he has a 5lb penalty to carry, there may be more to come. Classic was a good fourth in a better race here over a furlong shorter and has every chance if he gets home, while Crack Shot is another to take seriously.
CLASSIC shaped as if still on a good mark when fourth here 10 days ago and, with the step back up to 1m well worth exploring, he earns the vote. Metabolt looked back in form at Windsor recently and must enter calculations, along with Monte Linas, who's better judged on his York win having seemed unsuited by testing ground at Sandown last time.
The step back up to 1m could be just what CLASSIC (nap) needs following his staying-on fourth over 7f here, when denied a clear run.

1st (1) (5/1 +23%) Twelfth Knight |
5/1(+23%) | (1) Twelfth Knight 5/1, C&D winner. Latest win here in May. First run since leaving Ruth Carr when fourteenth of 18 in Great St Wilfrid handicap over C&D (good, 25/1) 10 days ago, going with little fluency. Needs to bounce back but drop in class a plus. Suited by this track but made ordinary start for new yard latest and needs a career best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (4/1 +0%) Origintrail |
4/1(+0%) | (3) Origintrail 4/1, C&D winner. Creditable second of 5 in handicap (13/2) at this course (5f, good to soft) 22 days ago, receiving a hefty bump early but keeping on well to just fail. Comes here on a fair mark and she's one to be interested in. Won't mind the extra furlong or faster ground off a mark just 1lb higher; leading player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (3.5/1 -17%) Impeller |
3.5/1(-17%) | (9) Impeller 3.5/1, Latest win at Carlisle in July. 12/1, good second of 17 in Silver Trophy handicap at this C&D (good) 10 days ago. Expected to be thereabouts again in present groove. Back in form here last time; player but a 3lb rise sees him back on a career-high mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (18/1 +18%) Catch Cunningham |
18/1(+18%) | (8) Catch Cunningham 18/1, Fifteenth of 17 in handicap (40/1) at Beverley (5f, good to firm) 79 days ago, stumbling badly leaving stalls. Absent subsequently and both career victories have come at the minimum trip. Returns from a break today having been out of sorts in the spring; has run well fresh. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (9/1 -29%) Abate |
9/1(-29%) | (2) Abate 9/1, C&D winner. 3 wins from 9 runs this year. Latest win at Windsor in July. 4/1, seventh of 8 in handicap at Thirsk (5f, good to soft) 11 days ago, unable to adopt usual prominent position. No surprise to see him back to form. Drawn to attack but has never won off a mark this high and ran flat 11 days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (6.5/1 +0%) Showtime Mahomes |
6.5/1(+0%) | (6) Showtime Mahomes 6.5/1, Below form ninth of 15 in handicap at York (6f, good to firm, 14/1) 73 days ago, weakening over 1f out. Arrives here with yard in good form and he's run well at this venue previously. One to note if strong in the betting. Has not built on his soft-ground C&D comeback second; some way down the pecking order. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (18/1 -13%) Russco |
18/1(-13%) | (5) Russco 18/1, Rattled off a quick-fire 5-timer in handicaps for Donald McCain during summer 2021. However, proved more miss than hit for that yard last term and he's likely best watched returning from 10 months off here. Entitled to need this, going for a new yard back from a third round of wind surgery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (7.5/1 -7%) Mark's Choice |
7.5/1(-7%) | (4) Mark's Choice 7.5/1, 5-time C&D winner. Sixteenth of 17 in Silver Trophy handicap at this C&D (good, 10/1) 10 days ago, never involved on the back of 11 weeks off. Visor refitted now and worth noting he won this race from a 6 lb higher mark 12 months ago. Has seven course wins to his name, including this race last year; should do better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (14/1 -40%) Shallow Hal |
14/1(-40%) | (10) Shallow Hal 14/1, Latest win at Carlisle in July. Sixth of 7 in claimer (7/2) at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 15 days ago, slowly away and always behind. Others make greater appeal for win purposes. Popped up off his lower turf mark early last month but hasn't repeated the effort since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) (20/1 -25%) Toussarok |
20/1(-25%) | (7) Toussarok 20/1, Eleven runs since last win in 2022. Last of 9 in handicap (22/1) at Sandown (7f, good to soft) 19 days ago. A lot of recent racing at 7f; three poor efforts back on turf leave him hard to fancy. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Not beaten far when runner-up in the Silver Trophy over C&D recently, IMPELLER sets the standard on that piece of form and can notch up a fifth career success. A winner at Windsor on his penultimate outing, Abate can give the selection most to think about, along with Origintrail, who should be suited by going back up in trip following a narrow defeat over 5f last time out.
ORIGINTRAIL remains a low-mileage 4-y-o and, having slipped in the weights, looked a shade unlucky not to win when just touched off over 5f here 3 weeks ago. The return to this trip will hold no fears (both career victories gained at 6f) and she earns the vote to confirm the promise of that run. Impeller, runner-up in the Silver Trophy over C&D 10 days ago, and multiple C&D scorer Mark's Choice are others to consider, along with Abate.
Mark's Choice should do better but ORIGINTRAIL (nap) has slid to a handy mark and looks the one after a much better run last time.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
The 80-rated SIMPSON'S PARADOX has reasonable claims. He has finished runner-up on his last two starts when caught in the closing stages over slightly further, so this drop in trip could work the oracle. He is a full brother to the top-class Alpha Centauri and a Bellewstown maiden probably wasn't on the agenda when he was starting out, but there should be a race or two in him. Woodcock Flight has been placed in five of his 10 races and should get in the mix, while Hokusai came in second when last seen at this track in April which gives him prospects. Not Forgotten is rated 3lb superior to Simpson's Paradox, however, his best form has been on the Polytrack at Dundalk. Joseph O'Brien's newcomer Princess Rabab should be checked for market strength in a race that won't take a lot of winning.
NOT FORGOTTEN finished with running left when second in maiden at Dundalk 2 weeks ago and is preferred to Simpson's Paradox and Hokusai in what looks a fairly useful event.
An open maiden. NOT FORGOTTEN has run his two best races on the AW but should be fine on turf and he edges preference.

7th (3) (8.5/1 -13%) Ragosina |
8.5/1(-13%) | (3) Ragosina 8.5/1, Hinted at ability in novice events at and has duly improved in handicaps this term, winning over 1¼m at Newmarket in June. Creditable third over 1½m back there since. First-time blinkers replace the cheekpieces worn the last twice. In good form in cheekpieces the last twice; now sports blinkers and she retains potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (8.5/1 -13%) Edge Of Ember |
8.5/1(-13%) | (8) Edge Of Ember 8.5/1, Fair maiden. Creditable return from win surgery when sixth of 12 in 1¼m Chelmsford handicap 3 weeks ago. Steps back up to 1½m now. Only sixth in first two handicaps but today's step back up in trip may be a positive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (22/1 -38%) Mythical Guest |
22/1(-38%) | (1) Mythical Guest 22/1, Fair form in maiden/novice events. Not obviously well treated for this handicap debut but does bring unexposed potential. Has shown ability and now goes handicapping off fair mark; not ruled out for in-form yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (4) (3.33/1 +56%) Divya |
3.33/1(+56%) | (4) Divya 3.33/1, Fair maiden who seemed stretched by 2m when fifth of 7 on Kempton handicap debut 20 days ago. Back down in trip with Oisin Murphy doing the steering. Faded over 2m on handicap debut; drops back down in trip and is not ruled out. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Edge Of Ember was expected to do better when sent off favourite at Chelmsford on his first start after wind surgery, but he is upped in trip now and may improve. African Star is hard to gauge after winning his maiden at 80/1, and he could surprise a few on his handicap debut, but RAGOSINA is narrowly preferred. She ran on into third despite becoming unbalanced at Newmarket and sports first-time blinkers.
GORDON GREY is given a second chance to confirm the promise of his Newmarket handicap debut second, form which has been franked by those around him. Sailing On, Medieval Gold and African Star all have unexposed potential now switching to handicap company and may provide the main opposition.
Gordon Grey is a tempting option but the William Haggas-trained MEDIEVAL GOLD could prove to be much better than his opening mark.

Unexposed and much respected. Clear second for new yard latest; leading claims upped 3lb if the extra furlong helps. |

2nd (2) (20/1 -67%) Satin Snake |
20/1(-67%) | (2) Satin Snake 20/1, Eighth of 11 in handicap (28/1) at Beverley (7.4f, good to firm) 13 days ago, needing stronger gallop. On a workable mark. Still to finish placed after ten runs on turf; has done most racing over 7f; outsider. |

8/1(+11%) | (3) Touchwood 8/1, Fourteen runs since last win in 2021. Seventh of 13 in handicap at Thirsk (1m, good to soft, 22/1) 11 days ago, not clear run. Has dropped to a mark in the 60s for the first time. Unlucky not to finish closer on his first go over this far last time; well treated now. |

4th (1) (2.75/1 +54%) Cosmos Raj |
2.75/1(+54%) | (1) Cosmos Raj 2.75/1, C&D winner in July. 7/1, respectable fourth of 10 in handicap at Pontefract (1m, good to soft) 30 days ago. One to consider under Tudhope from a handy draw. Three wins and a second in nine runs here; nothing went right on latest; player. |

5th (12) (12/1 -71%) Motarajel |
12/1(-71%) | (12) Motarajel 12/1, C&D winner. Respectable sixth of 13 in handicap (9/2) at Nottingham 14 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Back down in trip. Not much luck this summer and the drop back from 1m2f should help, so he's considered. |

6th (11) (9/1 +68%) Bungley |
9/1(+68%) | (11) Bungley 9/1, Below the mark he won off at Ripon last August but hasn't fired in her 3 outings this year. Well treated now but hard to recommend and Motarajel looks her trainer's best shot. |

7th (9) (18/1 -29%) Atlantic Heart |
18/1(-29%) | (9) Atlantic Heart 18/1, 25/1, thirteenth of 16 in handicap at Doncaster (7f, good to firm) 10 days ago but had been a creditable third on Newcastle's AW prior to that. Sole win came on the AW and she's gone beyond 7f only once; needs to settle better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (12/1 -100%) Saisons D'Or |
12/1(-100%) | (7) Saisons D'Or 12/1, Arrives on the back of creditable in-frame efforts on his last 4 outings, including third over C&D last month. Likely to be competitive again. Last seven wins have come in May or earlier; in fair form but there is other pace in here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (18/1 -177%) End Zone |
18/1(-177%) | (8) End Zone 18/1, Latest win at Hamilton in May. 8/1, creditable third of 9 in handicap at Musselburgh (7f, good) 18 days ago. Stall 12 is not good for one happiest on the sharp end; has won only one of his last 22. |

10th (6) (8.5/1 +6%) Vondelpark |
8.5/1(+6%) | (6) Vondelpark 8.5/1, C&D winner last year. Added to his tally at Thirsk (1m) in July but needs to shrug off a poor run at Redcar since. Front-runner who's well suited by an easy, turning 1m; the return here should help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (4) (5.5/1 +39%) Pol Roger |
5.5/1(+39%) | (4) Pol Roger 5.5/1, Respectable fourth of 9 in handicap (12/1) at Haydock (1m, good) 17 days ago. Claims if a wide draw isn't too big of an inconvenience. Cheekpieces have helped; not ruled out for a trainer who won both divisions in 2020. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (10) (100/1 -150%) Kovu |
100/1(-150%) | (10) Kovu 100/1, No impact in both handicaps and further 3 lb drop in his mark isn't enough to make him of any interest. Twice well beaten since handicapping; this is easier down 3lb but he's hard to fancy. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
An eye-catcher when keeping on for second over 7f on his first run for new connections at Haydock recently, TOBETSO looks the one to be with if building on that effort. The step up in trip looks like a major plus and he should have too much for the likes of End Zone and Saisons D'Or, who has been in consistent form of late. Others to note are Pol Roger and Cosmos Raj.
TOUCHWOOD didn't enjoy the rub of the green last time and might be worth chancing now down to a clear career-low mark. Tobetso is a 3-y-o heading in the right direction and rates an obvious danger, while Cosmos Raj is also respected as a former C&D winner who is handily drawn.
This could well be set up for something from off the pace and COSMIC RAJ, a three-time late-summer course winner, gets the nod.

2nd (3) (22/1 -120%) Indiana Grey |
22/1(-120%) | (3) Indiana Grey 22/1, Respectable seventh of 13 in handicap at Dundalk (8f, 12/1), unsuited by way race developed. Off 158 days. Cheekpieces back on. 6-52, 2-21 on Turf; can miss break, did so sole visit here, running well in circumstances. |

7.5/1(+6%) | (4) James Henry 7.5/1, Ninth of 14 in handicap at Dundalk (8f, 11/1) 14 days ago, merely closing up late. Ran well for Colin Keane on a couple of occasions last season. One of the more likely types. Chance on his form for Denis Hogan; pretty lifeless both starts (AW) since. |

8th (8) (18/1 +28%) Pimstrel |
18/1(+28%) | (8) Pimstrel 18/1, Twelfth of 14 in handicap (25/1) at Killarney (8.2f, good) 41 days ago, ridden too aggressively. Form tailed off a bit last season and resumed with a poor runner; seems best on soft. |

33/1(+34%) | (7) Roman Palace 33/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Last of 13 in handicap at Leopardstown (9f, good, 40/1) 12 days ago. Stable had 200s first and 200s third in same race lately; this one is not easily fancied. |

10th (6) (14/1 -40%) Sunset Nova |
14/1(-40%) | (6) Sunset Nova 14/1, Latest win at Down Royal in June. Bit below form 5½ lengths sixth of 14 to The Bog Bank in handicap at Dundalk (8f, 14/1) 48 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Blinkers back on. Seeking tenth career win; last couple of efforts not good enough; break may have helped. |

11th (15) (20/1 -25%) Sagittarius Rising |
20/1(-25%) | (15) Sagittarius Rising 20/1, Eleven runs since last win in 2020. Fourteenth of 17 in handicap at Fairyhouse (7f, good, 12/1). Off 11 months. Tongue strap back on, cheekpieces back on. Can make presence felt. Another McConnell runner hard to make a case for; usually huge odds. |

66/1(-32%) | (5) Maponus 66/1, 33/1, last of 15 in handicap at Gowran (7f, good) on IRE debut 13 days ago. Seems to like an ease; 33s, faded badly on recent Irish debut; Ben Coen rides again. |

15th (10) (12/1 +0%) I Know I Can |
12/1(+0%) | (10) I Know I Can 12/1, Remains a maiden after 26 Flat runs. Eighth of 9 in maiden (22/1) at Tipperary (7.4f, soft) 18 days ago. Looks competitive on form back in a handicap. Now 0-26 and hard to be any way bullish but each-way chance on this year's handicap form. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
THE BOG BANK has a very good record at this track and could post her third course success. James Ryan has struck up a terrific association with this mare and his 7lb claim keeps her highly competitive. She wasn't beaten far into third at Dundalk a fortnight ago and should relish returning to Bellewstown. She has a tough draw, but it was a similar story in her two previous victories here. Barnhill Rose is more than capable over an extended 7f and ought to be on the premises with Daniel King claiming 5lb. John McConnell's horses are always worth scrutinising at this venue and Smaoineamh Sile looks threatening after a much-improved fourth over further in Leopardstown. Dylan Browne McMonagle is a good booking for Indiana Grey who is returning from a break. James Henry is another with a chance while Sunset Nova is always capable of popping up as evidenced by nine career victories.
DOUBLE MARTINI needs to be forgiven a below-par run last time but he had been shaping up quite well prior to that and might prove the answer to this tricky handicap. His stablemate Smaoineamh Sile ran well at Leopardstown last time and is second choice ahead of The Bog Bank and James Henry.
An unappealing affair. THE BOG BANK looks the most likely winner. Indiana Grey could go well if she gets the breaks

1st (2) (7.5/1 -36%) Imac Wood |
7.5/1(-36%) | (2) Imac Wood 7.5/1, Dual chase winner in France early last year. Not at that level for this yard though shaped encouragingly from a reduced mark back over hurdles after a breathing operation/4 months off when third at Uttoxeter. Pulled up on his only run over British fences but ran well back over hurdles. |

2nd (6) (3.5/1 +13%) Dirk Gently |
3.5/1(+13%) | (6) Dirk Gently 3.5/1, Poor form when placed last 3 starts over hurdles. Lazy type who now makes his chase bow. Encouraging third on stable debut and he's bred for this new discipline. |

3rd (3) (9/1 -80%) Cotton End |
9/1(-80%) | (3) Cotton End 9/1, Losing run is mounting up but shaped better than the bare result when fourth of 7 in handicap chase (11/1) over this C&D (good to soft) 40 days ago, looking second best for a long way until a chance-ending error 3 out. 0-8 chasing but she was in the firing line over C&D when clouting three out. |

4th (7) (2.75/1 -10%) Miss Antipova |
2.75/1(-10%) | (7) Miss Antipova 2.75/1, Remains winless following 21 attempts overall but this 11-y-o has certainly been knocking on the door in recent months, finding just one too good for the fifth consecutive start at Uttoxeter (2½m, good to soft) 6 weeks ago. Likely to be in the mix once more back down in trip in first-time headgear. Needs to buck her run of seconds but races prominently and jumps soundly enough. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (11/1 +21%) Decoration Of War |
11/1(+21%) | (5) Decoration Of War 11/1, Showed little promise in 4 starts over fences last summer and shaped as if in need of the run when seventh in a handicap hurdle at Market Rasen after 10 months off in June. Stuck in the mud next time but bit to prove back in this sphere. Shown some aptitude for fences and penultimate hurdle run was respectable. |

6th (9) (8.5/1 +74%) Ocean's Of Money |
8.5/1(+74%) | (9) Ocean's Of Money 8.5/1, Still to register a victory and up against it from 10 lb out of the handicap. Placed in points but a maiden under rules and hasn't been at her best this summer. |

7th (4) (11/1 -10%) Go Fox |
11/1(-10%) | (4) Go Fox 11/1, Took advantage of a much-reduced mark when successful at Fakenham in June and followed up at Stratford (17f) 16 days later. Just the one decent effort since but mark is at least easing again. Two wins in June but fell in his hat-trick bid and below par since then. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (1) (4/1 -14%) Stumps Or Slips |
4/1(-14%) | (1) Stumps Or Slips 4/1, Going the right way over fences now, impressing most with the strength of his finish when following up his Warwick success over this C&D in June. Hat-trick bid was too bad to be true so worth another chance. Made it 2-3 over fences here before the drop back to 2m1f found him out at Bangor. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (150/1 -127%) My Boy Grizzle |
150/1(-127%) | (8) My Boy Grizzle 150/1, Looks of no account nowadays. Maiden whose struggles continued when pulled up on his recent chase debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Stumps Or Slips is a decent sort, winning very easily here in June before being pulled up at Bangor after making far too many mistakes. He may struggle to give 24lb to MISS ANTIPOVA, who deserves a first success over fences after five consecutive second places, the latest when only beaten a length and a quarter at Uttoxeter over further. First-time cheekpieces may work the oracle, while Imac Wood is an interesting alternative assuming he improves for his first start after wind surgery.
MISS ANTIPOVA ran well to finish runner-up for the fifth successive start at Uttoxeter and the application of headgear may help her finally get her head in front. Stumps or Slips is a big threat if his latest run can be forgiven, while Imac Wood took a step back in the right direction over hurdles last time.

Gentle Whinny |
(7) (22/1 -120%)22/1(-120%) | (7) Gentle Whinny 22/1, Improved with each of her 3 starts as a 2-y-o, culminating in a 1m novice success at Windsor. However, she hasn't made much of an impact in a couple of handicaps this time round and needs to get back on track. 2yo novice win last October but well beaten on both starts this year. |

1st (11) (2/1 +43%) Unlimited |
2/1(+43%) | (11) Unlimited 2/1, Has performed to a similar level in a trio of novice events, most recently finishing third of 11 at Hamilton (8.3f, good). Still, improvement could be forthcoming now that he moves back up in trip for this handicap debut. Makes handicap debut having been gelded; in top hands and he's one to be interested in. |

2nd (4) (3/1 +33%) Khinjani |
3/1(+33%) | (4) Khinjani 3/1, Had a bit left up her sleeve when opening her account in a 5-runner Haydock handicap (10.4f, good) earlier this month. Nudged up just 2 lb and she looks nailed-on for another bold show. Won at Haydock latest; this looks a better race but she has a progressive profile. |

3rd (10) (14/1 +0%) Ithaca's Arrow |
14/1(+0%) | (10) Ithaca's Arrow 14/1, Improved form when scoring on the AW upped to 1½m at Lingfield in May but subsequent efforts have not been too inspiring. Won AW novice in May but has failed to threaten in turf handicaps on next four starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (11/1 -29%) Gold Aura |
11/1(-29%) | (9) Gold Aura 11/1, Failed to build on debut promise at 2 yrs but nothing wrong with this season's placed efforts in 1m handicaps at Kempton and Salisbury (good). Mark unchanged and shapes as though this trip will suit, so she's worth considering. Placed over 1m on both runs in 2023; pedigree suggests she'll improve for this longer trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (11/1 -69%) Yamalia Star |
11/1(-69%) | (3) Yamalia Star 11/1, Fair form in a handful of Irish maidens, not beaten far when fourth of 12 at Roscommon (1½m, good to soft) last week. Shapes as though this trip could be ideal and while she needs to improve now handicapping, it's possible that she'll do just that with first-time cheekpieces enlisted. Promise in Irish maidens and pedigree provides optimism she'll be capable of better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (5/1 +41%) Bloomwithgrace |
5/1(+41%) | (5) Bloomwithgrace 5/1, Shaped well all 3 starts in novice company at 2 yrs and knocking on the door this season, finding just one too good upped to this trip at Ripon (good) last time. Likely to pick up a race before long but improvement will be needed if this is to be the race in which she gets off the mark. Second at Ripon last time behind one who followed up; could again be thereabouts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (8.5/1 -21%) Forest Demon |
8.5/1(-21%) | (2) Forest Demon 8.5/1, Kempton nursery winner at 2 yrs and deservedly got his head back in front with a first-time tongue strap applied under William Buick at Newmarket (1¼m, good) recently. 4 lb rise fair enough and he has to enter calculations. Improved form to win at Newmarket 11 days ago and he's respected up 4lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (33/1 -50%) Nopoli |
33/1(-50%) | (1) Nopoli 33/1, Successful at Jebel Ali in January but hasn't made much of an impact in 5 subsequent starts. Handicapper has shown mercy (eased 5 lb since latest start) but, even so, he's hard to warm to. Won on dirt at Jebel Ali in January on second start but struggled to get competitive since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (33/1 -288%) Photon |
33/1(-288%) | (6) Photon 33/1, Promise on first 2 starts at Kempton and again when third in a 9-runner Salisbury novice (7f, soft) on turf debut last month. Mark for this handicap debut looks fair and this stiffer test should help but one or two of these are more appealing all the same. Not bred for this sort of trip but not ruled out under Billy Loughnane on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) (22/1 -83%) Raintown |
22/1(-83%) | (8) Raintown 22/1, Enjoyed a productive 2-y-o campaign on the AW, completing the hat-trick on New Year's Eve. Has struggled in 4 runs since switched to turf, though, and it's easy enough to look elsewhere. Three AW wins towards end of last year but down the field on grass the last twice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (12) (50/1 -178%) Star Of Mayo |
50/1(-178%) | (12) Star Of Mayo 50/1, Showed improved form to make it fourth time lucky in novice company at Lingfield (1m, AW) in January. Disappointed in handicaps over longer trips both starts thereafter on AW and, having been gelded, he again failed to shine back from a break/returned to turf at Salisbury (1m, good). Patchy profile this year but recent comeback run wasn't devoid of promise; not discounted. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
William Haggas won this in 2021 and has an interesting contender here with Unlimited, who was third on his latest start and has been gelded since. He needs to improve, but a mark of 70 for his handicap debut looks fair. Gold Aura has done little wrong with a second and a third this season and she could also have some say, but KHINJANI is hard to oppose. A winner last time out at Haydock, she travelled well throughout for a comfortable success and an added 2lb may not be enough to stop her.
KHINJANI found only the progressive Gallant Lion, who has gone in twice again since, over this C&D last month prior to going one better at Haydock 17 days ago. She appeared to have more in hand than the winning margin would suggest on that occasion and, up just 2 lb, she is taken to strike again. Forest Demon, also successful last time, is feared most ahead of the upped-in-trip Gold Aura and handicap-debutant Unlimited.
The step up in trip looks to be the right move for GOLD AURA and she is taken to get off the mark at the sixth attempt.

3.33/1(+33%) | (2) Marbuzet 3.33/1, Course winner. Creditable third of 13 in handicap (7/1) at Musselburgh (14f, good) 18 days ago, running on. More consistent than most at this level. More likely than most to give his running but needs to find a bit more from somewhere. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (4.5/1 -100%) Mass Consumption |
4.5/1(-100%) | (6) Mass Consumption 4.5/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Very good third of 8 in novice event at Catterick (12.1f, good, 4/1) 8 days ago. Significantly up in trip and looks well weighted back in a handicap. Solid run in novice company last week; has stamina to prove but is interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (33/1 -32%) Beyond Beauty |
33/1(-32%) | (10) Beyond Beauty 33/1, 18/1, below form fourth of 8 in handicap at this course (12f, good to soft) 10 days ago, merely passing beaten rivals. Significantly up in trip. Exposed maiden who was beaten a long way over 1m4f here last time. |

6th (9) (12/1 -33%) A Day To Dream |
12/1(-33%) | (9) A Day To Dream 12/1, 9/1, bit below form fourth of 12 in handicap at Redcar (14f, good to firm) 17 days ago. Some way off Michael's Pledge and Spantik at Redcar; needs to settle better upped in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (12/1 +14%) Yasmin From York |
12/1(+14%) | (3) Yasmin From York 12/1, Ninth of 12 in handicap at Redcar (14f, good to firm, 10/1) 17 days ago. Almost certainly needed that first start in 14 months and this will reveal more. Entitled to have needed her return recently from more than a year off but didn't show much. |

8th (5) (66/1 -65%) Wheal Kitty |
66/1(-65%) | (5) Wheal Kitty 66/1, Eighth of 12 in handicap at Newcastle (10.2f, 33/1) 26 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Wouldn't make much appeal even without the stamina concerns. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (80/1 -220%) Burnage Boy |
80/1(-220%) | (8) Burnage Boy 80/1, Remains a maiden after 29 Flat runs. 15/2, creditable sixth of 10 in handicap hurdle at Hexham (16.2f, good) 65 days ago. Others more persuasive back on the level. One of his better efforts over hurdles when last seen but holds only each-way claims. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
A maiden after six starts, the step up to two miles can work the oracle for MICHAEL'S PLEDGE as he looks to get off the mark following a career-best effort when runner-up at Redcar last time out. Similar comments apply to the unexposed Mass Consumption, while Spantik may not have won since September 2021 but is well handicapped on his old form. The shortlist is completed by Marbuzet and A Day To Dream.
A literal reading of MASS CONSUMPTION's third-placed finish in novice company last time suggests he's a fair way ahead of the handicapper so assuming he stays 2m, a first win looks on the cards. Michael's Pledge and Marbuzet also have something to recommend them.
There's little to choose between Michael's Pledge and Spantik. It could be worth chancing the stamina of MASS CONSUMPTION.

1st (8) (5/1 +23%) Jazz Dreamers |
5/1(+23%) | (8) Jazz Dreamers 5/1, C&D winner. Fifteen runs since last win in 2021. Good second of 13 in handicap at Gowran (9.4f, good, 11/1) 13 days ago, challenging from 2f out and keeping on having been well positioned. Not dismissed. C&D winner in 2021; always thereabouts last twice and one of the more likely. |

2nd (4) (4/1 +11%) Rampage |
4/1(+11%) | (4) Rampage 4/1, Winner at Leopardstown in July. Very good third of 19 in handicap (7/1) at the Curragh (8f, good to soft) 9 days ago, suited by way race developed. Visor on 1st time. Can make presence felt. Hold-up type likes it here, back at his best at Curragh latest; visor replaces cheekpieces. |

3rd (11) (3.5/1 +30%) What Adaay |
3.5/1(+30%) | (11) What Adaay 3.5/1, 1 win from 3 runs this year. Career best when winning 15-runner handicap at this course (7.9f, good to soft, 4/1) 54 days ago by neck from Rampage, battling well. Yet to finish out of the first 2 at this track and she's a player once more. Reliable mare edged Rampage here last time (yielding); up 5lb; has a good attitude. |

4th (9) (25/1 +24%) Above It All |
25/1(+24%) | (9) Above It All 25/1, Eighteen runs since last win in 2022. Eleventh of 15 in handicap at Gowran (7f, good, 40/1) 13 days ago, never nearer. Not one for maximum faith. Poor since coming to Ireland, including two visits here, and usually huge odds. |

16/1(-78%) | (5) Geological 16/1, 9/1, good second of 14 in handicap at Dundalk (8f) 14 days ago, having run of race. No sure thing to be in the same form here, however. Old boy finding it tougher these days, especially on Turf, and hard to see him dictating. |

3.5/1(+22%) | (6) Skontonovski 3.5/1, Latest win at Dundalk in August. Creditable second of 15 in handicap at Killarney (8.1f, good, 4/1) 5 days ago. Yard having good spell. Shortlist material. Well-backed winner on AW but key was backed that up one Turf five days ago off this mark. |

7th (14) (22/1 -38%) Lisabetta |
22/1(-38%) | (14) Lisabetta 22/1, Eleven runs since last win in 2021. 22/1, creditable fourth of 16 in handicap at Gowran (7f, soft) 31 days ago, running on late past beaten rivals. No great shakes but stayed on into fourth at Gowran last time and place chance. |

8th (10) (33/1 +0%) Bellick |
33/1(+0%) | (10) Bellick 33/1, 40/1, below form eighth of 14 in handicap at the Curragh (6f, good to soft) 9 days ago. That was his first start for 8 months and entitled to be sharper back up in trip. Reportedly upset in stalls when down the field on 2023 debut lately; chance at his best. |

9th (12) (40/1 -21%) Miracles In May |
40/1(-21%) | (12) Miracles In May 40/1, Last of 13 in handicap (12/1) at Tipperary (9f, good to soft) ridden 3f out and making no impression on the back of 3 months off. This ought to reveal more. Two flops this year; chance off his break if he returns to form; first visit here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (15) (8/1 +11%) Shawaf |
8/1(+11%) | (15) Shawaf 8/1, One win from 32 Flat runs. 20/1, respectable fourth of 17 in handicap at Naas (8f, soft) 34 days ago, faring best of those ridden prominently. Seems to like this track and, 1-31, some sort of chance after last month's fourth at Naas. |

11th (1) (40/1 -21%) Dance Emperor |
40/1(-21%) | (1) Dance Emperor 40/1, Dual winner at up to 10f during summer 2021 but finished that campaign below best, seventh of 14 in a Dundalk claimer on final outing in October. Market likely to prove best guide on belated return to action. Stable form encouraging; great chance at his best but not seen him in nearly two years. |

12th (7) (28/1 +15%) Nicky's Champ |
28/1(+15%) | (7) Nicky's Champ 28/1, Lightly-raced maiden who has proved disappointing both starts in handicaps at Leopardstown/Naas in recent month. Cheekpieces on 1st time back from 5 weeks off. Not look straightforward and nothing either handicap start, perhaps the headgear will help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (13) (25/1 -25%) Miltonia |
25/1(-25%) | (13) Miltonia 25/1, First run since leaving Noel Meade when creditable seventh of 13 in handicap (8/1) at Dundalk (8f) 48 days ago, possibly needing the run on the back of 7 months off. This should reveal more. Some promise for previous yards and again on stable debut, midfield, in July. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (2) (12/1 -200%) Monzoon |
12/1(-200%) | (2) Monzoon 12/1, Sixteen runs since last win in 2021. 9/4, below form eighth of 15 in handicap at Gowran (7f, good) 13 days ago, dropping away final 1f. Mark has eased a little more at least. Strange gamble last time came unstuck (well-held all season, including here), held again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
15th (16) (100/1 -52%) Black Bridie |
100/1(-52%) | (16) Black Bridie 100/1, 80/1, thirteenth of 14 in handicap at this course (7.9f, good to soft) 54 days ago, slowly into stride and never dangerous. Reserve 1. First reserve; hard to fancy on handicap form, huge odds. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
RAMPAGE looks another good ride for James Ryan. He stayed on well for third in a big field handicap at the Curragh on his last start and a new visor might eke out a bit more from him. He won in this grade at Leopardstown in July. Skontonovski won at Dundalk on his penultimate start and then came with his customary late challenge in Killarney before going down by half a length. He is dangerous off the same mark of 59. Jazz Dreamers has a course victory in the book and showed that another one may not be far away after a close second in Gowran Park this month. Life is tougher for What Adaay after being hit with a 9lb rise for beating Rampage by a neck at this track in July, but her course form figures of '122' will stand her in good stead.
WHAT ADAAY has yet to run a bad race at this venue, showing a determined attitude when edging out re-opposing Rampage over C&D in July and she could well be the way to go again from this 5 lb higher mark. Skontonovski arrives in good order and is feared, whilst the aforementioned Rampage is another firmly in the mix with a first-time visor now reached for.
The stronger division. What Adaay and Rampage clash again and have clear credentials. SHAWAF is a tentative choice

Mr Mafia |
(1) (14/1 -100%)14/1(-100%) | (1) Mr Mafia 14/1, Veteran campaigner who capitalised on some mercy from the assessor when making a winning return from 8 months off at Newton Abbot (25.7f) in July, closed down only late on. Only 2 lb higher now but he'll need to pull out more if he's to follow up here. Back from a break to win at Newton Abbot and a 2lb rise is neither here nor there. |

1st (5) (3/1 +40%) Captain Tommy |
3/1(+40%) | (5) Captain Tommy 3/1, Capitalised on freefalling mark at Bangor (3m) in May and similar form in defeat next 2 starts. Disappointed without usual tongue strap (refitted here) in a C&D handicap 33 days ago but no surprise to see a better showing. Soft ground an excuse last time and had been running well before that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (2.5/1 -11%) Carlo Du Berlais |
2.5/1(-11%) | (6) Carlo Du Berlais 2.5/1, Proved a different proposition switched to chasing, posting his best effort yet when making it 2 wins from 3 starts at Uttoxeter (3m) 6 weeks ago, finding plenty in the latter stages. Up 5 lb but unlikely we've seen all he has to offer just yet. Player. Just three runs over hurdles and now 2-3 over fences; can continue to progress. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (4/1 +64%) Easkey Lad |
4/1(+64%) | (7) Easkey Lad 4/1, Improved to win a pair of 3m Ffos Las handicaps in May and June before facing a very stiff task from well out of the weights in the Summer Cup at Uttoxeter. Returned to form back in calmer waters when fourth at Newton Abbot (25.7f) 4 weeks ago and he's an each-way player. Latest run was in line with his winning efforts and should go well despite tough mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (8.5/1 -6%) Favori De Sivola |
8.5/1(-6%) | (3) Favori De Sivola 8.5/1, Multiple chase winner who failed to meet expectations following another wind op when fifth of 7 in handicap at Perth (23.8f) on yard debut 10 days ago. This a pretty quick turnaround and interesting if the market spoke in his favour once more. Struggles continued on debut for this yard at Perth only ten days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (3/1 -20%) Reserve Tank |
3/1(-20%) | (4) Reserve Tank 3/1, Inconsistent as a rule but represents an in-form yard and took advantage of tumbling mark to record first success since 2019/20 campaign at Market Rasen (19f) in June. Remains with handicapping scope on old form and he's worth considering again. Return to winning ways was three months ago and more new headgear tried here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
CARLO DU BERLAIS gets the nod. The winner of two of his three starts over fences, including last time out at Uttoxeter over three miles, he has another 5lb here but is lightly raced and should still be improving. Last-time-out winners Reserve Tank and Mr Mafia can also go well, with the former feared most on the basis that he was impressive at Market Rasen and now sports first-time cheekpieces.
It could just be worth siding with RESERVE TANK who cashed in off his much-reduced mark when ending a lengthy losing run at Market Rasen back in June and he comes here remaining with plenty of handicapping scope on his old form. Low-mileage improver Carlo du Berlais can emerge as the lead threat.
Fergal O'Brien's CARLO DU BERLAIS has little in hand off his current mark but it's been a solid start over fences and he tries hard.

4th (5) (6/1 -100%) Purnika |
6/1(-100%) | (5) Purnika 6/1, Lightly-raced filly. Fifth of 6 in handicap (15/2) at Ripon (8f, soft) 22 days ago. Visor on 1st time. Ran poorly in 1m Ripon handicap 22 days ago; visor is reached for now with a bit to prove. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
A small field may see this race turn tactical, and if it does, FIVER FRIDAY could be the one with the most speed. She was fifth at Naas last time and has been found an event that may not take much winning here. Purnika could find more in a first-time visor and would appear to be her biggest danger, leaving Camusdarach to follow them home.
A weak maiden and an excellent opportunity for Irish-raider FIVER FRIDAY. Fellow 3-y-o filly Purnika is a clear next best.
Irish filly FIVER FRIDAY holds the clear edge on form and arrives in good nick too so looks to hold excellent claims.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
SWEETEST ROSE appeals in this grade. She had been acquitting herself well in maiden company with four placed efforts before getting off the mark at Listowel in June. Connections then pitched her into Listed class at Naas last month where she finished unplaced. She should be a factor off a mark of 79 in her first handicap, though. Gosford was a very solid second in a big field at the Curragh and the third home has since delivered in Killarney. He won at Gowran Park on his penultimate start and should be to the fore here. Fleetfootsoldier won at Bellewstown last month and is another to consider, while Yuzu, Quantum Light and Pub Talk will all have their supporters in a competitive race.
GOSFORD confirmed he's on the upgrade when runner-up in a big field at the Curragh and remains of interest. Quantum Light and One Boss head the dangers.
A minefield. SILVER SALVER is a shot in the dark stepping back in trip, though most of these have far more obvious claims

150/1(-127%) | (6) Power Generation 150/1, Modest maiden on the Flat who was well held tried over hurdles at Stratford 11 months ago. Off since. Regressive Flat maiden; 200-1 when tailed off in a Stratford maiden hurdle last October. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
In an interesting contest there are plenty in with chances, though none more so than WINTERWATCH. Three times a winner on the Flat, he has come home second on his last three starts over hurdles and will be race-fit after running on the level earlier in the month. Gaius won his maiden here with ease before seemingly coming unstuck on heavy ground at Cartmel, and he could go well along with The Derry Girl and bumper winner Jeudidee.
WINTERWATCH ran badly on his most recent Flat outing, but he sets a clear standard back over hurdles and won't get many better opportunities to open his account in this sphere. Recent C&D winner The Derry Girl is fancied to prove the main threat.

1.88/1(+16%) | (3) Loubiere 1.88/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 6/1, creditable third of 12 in nursery at Beverley (7.4f, good to firm) 12 days ago. Claims. Good third of 12 in 7.5f Beverley nursery 12 days ago; player off the same mark. |

12/1(+14%) | (7) Bellestarr 12/1, Eleventh of 12 in nursery at Beverley (7.4f, good to firm, 14/1) 12 days ago, not ideally placed. Has good chance on pick of form. Good Beverley third but beat only one there 12 days ago; she needs to bounce back. |

2.75/1(+21%) | (1) Likleman 2.75/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Last of 11 in maiden at Catterick (7f, good, 11/1) 34 days ago. May do better now handicapping. Fourth at Beverley but last at Catterick later in July; since gelded; more needed now. |

7.5/1(-67%) | (2) Kinetic 7.5/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Eighth of 9 in maiden at Haydock (7f, good to firm, 33/1) 18 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Eighth in 7f Haydock maiden 18 days ago; may do better now in nursery company. |

7th (6) (28/1 -12%) Patasola |
28/1(-12%) | (6) Patasola 28/1, Ninth of 11 in nursery (25/1) at Catterick (6f, good) 8 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Came in a well-held ninth in 6f Catterick nursery eight days ago and has stamina to prove. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Bellestarr disappointed last time out on faster ground but was only beaten a length on soft in July and should not be discounted. Loubiere ran her best race yet when third at Beverley recently and she could go well of the same mark, but a chance is taken on SEAHORSE SYD. Only a head behind Loubiere on that occasion, despite being hampered at the start, that was his first start after being gelded and he may have more improvement to come.
A very weak nursery and it could be worth chancing handicap debutant Likleman, who went off second favourite on debut in what has turned out to be a decent Salisbury maiden. Bellestarr could emerge as the biggest threat if her latest run is forgiven.
It could pay to side with LOUBIERE who can race off the same mark as when posting a good third on her Beverley nursery debut last time.

5.5/1(-22%) | (6) Buddy Batt 5.5/1, Thrice-raced gelding. Fair form first 2 starts at up to 6f this term and best not judged too harshly on latest tenth of 12 in maiden at Cork (5f) 11 days ago having raced far side. Better showing anticipated. Took a backward step 11 days ago but a chance on his initial efforts. |

2nd (2) (1.1/1 +76%) Janzoor |
1.1/1(+76%) | (2) Janzoor 1.1/1, Thrice-raced colt. 66/1, eleventh of 20 in valuable sales' event at Naas (5.9f, soft) 22 days ago. Booking of Keane a plus and return to the minimum trip may help. Back at a more realistic level after trying his luck in a valuable sales race. |

3rd (5) (4.5/1 +0%) Tai Tam Bay |
4.5/1(+0%) | (5) Tai Tam Bay 4.5/1, Thrice-raced filly. Third of 11 in maiden (9/1) at Sligo (5.7f, good to soft) 20 days ago. Needs to pull out more if she's to figure here. Bred to stay much further but under a positive ride she made the frame at Sligo. |

4th (3) (16/1 +52%) Sovereign City |
16/1(+52%) | (3) Sovereign City 16/1, Once-raced gelding. 50/1, ninth of 12 in maiden at Cork (5f, heavy) on debut 11 days ago, racing stand side and never better than midfield. This ought to reveal more. Only ninth at Cork and will need to step up plenty on that to have some say. |

5th (10) (11/1 +31%) Little Miss Peppi |
11/1(+31%) | (10) Little Miss Peppi 11/1, Thrice-raced filly. 80/1, last of 20 in minor event at Naas (5.9f, soft) 22 days ago, always behind. Needs to bounce back. Outclassed last time but previous Hamilton second makes her a player. |

6th (1) (5/1 -43%) Beano Power |
5/1(-43%) | (1) Beano Power 5/1, Twice-raced filly. 100/1, left debut effort well behind when fourth of 12 in maiden at Cork (5f, heavy) 11 days ago. No surprise were she capable of better still and not out of things in a maiden lacking depth. 100-1 for both her starts and yet outran those odds to finish fourth at Cork. |

80/1(+20%) | (9) So Diligent 80/1, Twice-raced gelding. Last of 9 in maiden at Dundalk (8f, 150/1) 14 days ago. Best watched dropped markedly in trip. Has beaten just three rivals in his two starts and one for another day. |

8th (8) (28/1 -75%) King Of The Bronx |
28/1(-75%) | (8) King Of The Bronx 28/1, Foaled April 20. €2,000 foal, Dragon Pulse colt. Brother to Italian 2-y-o 5f winner Mattiopera. Dam unraced. Third foal; brother to Italian 5f AW 2yo winner Mattiopera; dam unraced. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
BEANO POWER showed big improvement on her second start and might be able to concede plenty weight. Out of a well-bred unraced mare and by a speedy stallion, she ran nicely to the line in a better maiden at Cork and can continue to progress. Comein Comein was beaten 5.25 lengths by the selection at Cork but now being all of 18lb better off, cannot be ruled out. Janzoor, in first-time cheekpieces, has plenty pace and should be suited by this distance but probably needs to improve while Tai Tam Bay ran well when dropped in distance at Sligo and is suited by easy ground. Glamorously disappointed in a valuable race at Naas and runs in first-time cheekpieces while Little Miss Peppi finished last in that Naas race but had previously chased home a useful type in a three-runner race at Hamilton and has a light weight.
BUDDY BATT wasn't seen to best effect on account of where he raced at Cork on his latest start but he had previously displayed fair form on his first 2 starts and it would come as no surprise to see a better showing kept to the minimum trip. Glamorously and Janzoor are others to consider.
Not a strong race. JANZOOR had shaped okay in two maidens before predictably coming up short in a valuable sales race.

Toronto |
(6) (12/1 +40%)12/1(+40%) | (6) Toronto 12/1, Fairly useful at best on the Flat. Won a pair of 2m novice hurdles in spring 2022 but has found life tougher in handicaps since, including pulling up on his recent yard debut despite being strong in the market. Has something to prove for now. Bled on stable debut at Bangor; well handicapped should the wheels stay on. |

1st (2) (1.38/1 +0%) Sea The Clouds |
1.38/1(+0%) | (2) Sea The Clouds 1.38/1, Bumper/2m novice hurdle winner last season. Best effort in handicaps this season when narrowly denied over C&D 4 weeks ago. Unlikely to be far away if showing up in similar form. Dual winner who very nearly bagged his first handicap over C&D four weeks ago. |

14/1(+30%) | (7) Ragamuffin 14/1, Three-time chase winner last season but hasn't made an impact in 3 outings this term, including back hurdling latest. Struggling over fences before finishing well beaten on his return to hurdling at Stratford. |

3rd (5) (3.33/1 -11%) Izayte |
3.33/1(-11%) | (5) Izayte 3.33/1, Winner of 2m Warwick handicap in May and creditable runner-up efforts at Uttoxeter and here (both 2m) on his last 2 starts. Should be thereabouts if his stamina holds stepping back up in trip. In form after a couple of seconds but does have his stamina to prove over this far. |

4th (9) (5.5/1 +39%) Whiskey And Water |
5.5/1(+39%) | (9) Whiskey And Water 5.5/1, Runner-up at Newcastle when last seen over hurdles in spring 2021. Has shaped as if retaining ability on the Flat since returning from a long absence and Harry Cobden does the steering now back over timber in refitted cheekpieces. Needs keeping an eye on in the betting. Has been well held in three Flat runs since returning from a long absence. |

5th (4) (5.5/1 +61%) Aviewtosea |
5.5/1(+61%) | (4) Aviewtosea 5.5/1, Three chase wins for Fergal O'Brien last summer. Dropped out with a whimper in this new headgear back over hurdles a month ago. |

|PU| (1) (28/1 -12%) Esperti |
28/1(-12%) | (1) Esperti 28/1, Fairly useful winning hurdler in Ireland for Peter Fahey but he has failed to fire in 3 outings for his yard. The season's leading jockey Sean Bowen takes the ride again but would need to see market support to consider. No worthwhile form for this yard, including when way behind Sea The Clouds here last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (100/1 -614%) Sholsang |
100/1(-614%) | (8) Sholsang 100/1, Winning pointer. Second in maiden chase in Ireland for David Christie last May but didn't get close to that level in 5 subsequent starts over there and pulled up in a Uttoxeter handicap chase on last month's debut for a new yard. Cheekpieces refitted. Best watched unless the betting hints otherwise. Ran no race over fences on his debut for this yard after a long absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (100/1 -52%) Chasamax |
100/1(-52%) | (10) Chasamax 100/1, Three-time winner in this sphere for Nicky Henderson but ended time with that yard below par and has continued in the same vein for current stable. Never lower in the weights but he's nothing like the force of old and remains opposable. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
SEA THE CLOUDS found only a subsequent winner too strong over C&D at the start of the month and a similar level of performance may be enough to defy a 3lb rise in the ratings. Izayte arrives in good heart judged on his last two runner-up efforts over 2m and could emerge as the chief threat if seeing out this trip. Oslo caught the eye on his return at Bangor recently and also merits consideration.
OSLO shaped quite well on his recent return to action and is given a chance to confirm that promise. Sea The Clouds is feared most on the back of his near miss over C&D at the beginning of the month. Izayte is another who arrives in form, while Whiskey And Water is one to note in the betting back hurdling under Harry Cobden.
The 6yo OSLO has to enter the equation. He took a while to get his eye in at Bangor but ended up being quite eyecatching.

3rd (6) (5/1 +9%) Mrs Bagerran |
5/1(+9%) | (6) Mrs Bagerran 5/1, C&D winner in June (sole success from from 33 starts). 9/4, below form fourth of 9 in minor event at Redcar (5f, good to firm) 17 days ago. Will probably find one or two too good once again. Won over C&D in June and she has kept her form well since; she's firmly in the picture. |

20/1(-122%) | (5) Cheyenne Nation 20/1, Twelfth of 13 in handicap at Beverley (5f, good to soft, 16/1) 42 days ago. That certainly wasn't one of his better efforts but eased 3 lb since and will be a threat if able to bounce back. Yet to get his head in front and he's been well below par on his last two starts. |

5th (3) (40/1 -100%) Beneficiary |
40/1(-100%) | (3) Beneficiary 40/1, 22/1, ninth of 10 in handicap at this C&D (good to soft) on turf debut 25 days ago. Likely to come up short once more. Yet to hit top form for his current yard, beating only one over C&D latest; needs more. |

2.25/1(-20%) | (1) Aconcagua Mountain 2.25/1, Creditable third of 13 in handicap (7/1) at Beverley (5f, good to firm) 12 days ago. Expected to be bang there down to 0-55 company. Good third (from high draw) at Beverley 12 days ago; big shout off an unchanged mark. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (4.5/1 +55%) James Watt |
4.5/1(+55%) | (8) James Watt 4.5/1, Seventeen runs since last win in 2022. Bit below form sixth of 11 in handicap (14/1) at Beverley (5f, good) 2 days ago. Down to a dangerous mark but nevertheless looks vulnerable for win purposes. 17 runs since his last win and he's been placed just once from his ten outings this term. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (4) (12/1 -200%) Canaria Prince |
12/1(-200%) | (4) Canaria Prince 12/1, C&D winner. Eleven runs since last win in 2022. Fourth of 11 in handicap at Southwell (5f, 13/2) 9 days ago. Should have a part to play off the same mark. Took this race 12 months ago; not disgraced when fourth at Southwell latest; considered. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
CANARIA PRINCE won this race by a neck last year off a 7lb higher mark and, although he hasn't won since, the five-year-old has a good record over course and distance. Time To Spark intrigues dropping back in trip for his handicap debut and is worth a market watch, although top-weight Aconcagua Mountain could be the biggest danger after a good run when third at Beverley off this rating.
ACONCAGUA MOUNTAIN deserves to get his head back in front following a couple of solid recent placed efforts at Ayr and Beverley, and he has every chance of doing so in this contest. The 5-y-o earns the vote ahead of Cheyenne Nation, who has struggled the last twice but the handicapper has cut him some slack and he may well bounce back with a bold show. Canaria Prince and Sixcor are others to consider.
A few with chances but ACONCAGUA MOUNTAIN (nap) looks primed for a bold showing on the back of his good Beverley third.

8th (6) (6/1 +25%) Double Jabbed |
6/1(+25%) | (6) Double Jabbed 6/1, 11/2, bit below form fifth of 15 in maiden at the Curragh (6f, good to soft) 10 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Threatened in maidens and this mark shouldn't be beyond him. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
POLAR BEAR hasn't run since disappointing in May, when his rider reported he 'didn't let himself down on the ground', but is generally reliable. A C&D winner in April, he finished a third at Premier Handicap level in early May, holds Charming Lady on two previous meetings and will have been freshened up. Mythical Phoenix beat Double Jabbed (into second) and Different Look (fourth) here in July but the trio meet on different terms. Double Jabbed makes his handicap debut and is 9lb better off. Hot Whispers won that Curragh race but her rating has climbed to 56 and is also 4lb out of the handicap and was previously beaten 18 times. Shoebox King disappointed slightly in that Curragh race but has claims on previous form and likes easy ground. Charming Lady's stamina may have been stretched at Leopardstown while So Majestic and Tamazu aren't as effective on easy ground.
This is a lot harder than the 0-70 handicap HOT WHISPERS won at the Curragh 10 days ago but in a race in which several have lots to prove, she's just about the percentage play. Mythical Phoenix won his maiden over this C&D and is a big threat, with Polar Bear another to consider on return from a break.
It may have taken HOT WHISPERS (nap) an eternity to win but she was well on top at the Curragh. Effectively off the same mark here.

7.5/1(-25%) | (9) Rare Clouds 7.5/1, Last season's Southwell reappearance success shows he's capable when fresh. Creditable fourth over C&D when last seen. One to consider on return to action. Quite exposed and probably one to watch back from his break. |

5.5/1(-38%) | (2) Cawthorne Lad 5.5/1, Fair hurdler for Jonjo O'Neill and shaped as if retaining ability for his new yard when third of 4 on his Stratford reappearance in June. Infrequent winner who was laboured on stable debut, albeit over 3m2f. |

Runner-up twice in handicap company in the first half of last season and shaped reasonably well on last month's return from 9 months off. One to consider under Sean Bowen. Finished tired at Uttoxeter (2m7f) and this shorter trip should be in her favour. |

28/1(-100%) | (4) Heross Du Seuil 28/1, French bumper winner who landed a Kempton juvenile hurdle for Nicky Henderson in December 2021. Hasn't gone on from that, however, including pulling up in 2 outings for this yard in the spring. His mark has tumbled but would need to see market support to consider. Disappointing since winning in 2020 and pulled up in both runs this year. |

9/1(+55%) | (7) Caspers Court 9/1, Won handicap hurdles at Wincanton and Exeter at the start of the year but not at best on his last 2 starts, albeit he may have needed his first outing in 4 months at Newton Abbot 4 weeks ago. After two wins earlier this year he suddenly lost his form; 5lb above last winning mark. |

10th (3) (14/1 -155%) Beholden |
14/1(-155%) | (3) Beholden 14/1, Newton Abbot maiden and 2½m Wincanton novice winner in autumn 2021 but absent since finishing a distant third at Fontwell in May 2022. Betting perhaps the best guide to what's expected after a long layoff. Dual hurdle winner capable of bagging a handicap but has been a good-while absent. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
KAZONTHERAZZ shaped better than the bare form suggests on her return at Uttoxeter last month and the drop to 2m4f could prove just the tonic for Martin Keighley's mare. Beholden looks to have a race of this nature within his compass judged on last year's second at Huntingdon and the Cacique gelding shouldn't be underestimated on the return from a 474-day layoff. Cawthorne Lad is entitled to improve on his first run for new connections when third at Stratford in June.
KAZONTHERAZZ should be sharper with last month's reappearance behind her and gets the nod with Sean Bowen taking over in the saddle. Creative Control is well capable off this mark if reacting positively to a wind op since last seen in the spring. The reappearing Rare Clouds won first time up last season and also makes the shortlist.

1st (5) (1.38/1 +31%) Asgard's Captain |
1.38/1(+31%) | (5) Asgard's Captain 1.38/1, Showed improved form when landing share of the spoils at Ripon (1m) in June and ran another solid race despite a poor draw when finishing third of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7f) 2 weeks ago, keeping on. Step back up in trip a plus here and well in the mix. Dead-heated at Ripon and good Wolver 3rd since; very much one to consider back up to 1m. |

2nd (3) (16/1 -33%) Na Scoitear |
16/1(-33%) | (3) Na Scoitear 16/1, 14/1, seventh of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 12 days ago, weakening final 1f. Cheekpieces replace blinkers back up at this longer trip. Scored at Southwell (1m) in April but his more recent form is far less encouraging. |

3rd (7) (11/1 -83%) Future Times |
11/1(-83%) | (7) Future Times 11/1, Maiden. 10/1, respectable third of 9 in handicap at Leicester (10f, good to firm) 16 days ago, wilting only late on. Drop back in trip will hold no fears but he's had plenty of chances already. Creditable third at Leicester handicap 16 days ago; he's one for the shortlist eased 1lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (9/1 +0%) Hidden Code |
9/1(+0%) | (2) Hidden Code 9/1, Maiden who made the frame in trio of handicaps at upto 9f earlier this term. Raced freely and not figured either start on turf/AW since, last of 10 in handicap at Newcastle (1m) 14 days ago. Comes here operating from career-low mark at least. Fair maiden handicapper but he has gone off the boil; others are much preferred. |

5th (1) (2.25/1 -13%) Metric |
2.25/1(-13%) | (1) Metric 2.25/1, Promising individual. Career best when winning 6-runner handicap (12/1) at Leicester (10f, good to firm) 6 days ago, smoothly getting into contention despite the pace not being strong. Likely there's more to come and respected under a penalty. Stylish winner at Leicester six days ago; on the up and a big player under a 6lb penalty. |

6th (4) (50/1 -213%) Magnolia Hawks |
50/1(-213%) | (4) Magnolia Hawks 50/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 100/1, fourth of 5 in minor event at Pontefract (8f, good) 9 days ago, weakening from 3f out. Progress required to make an impact on handicap debut. Only poor form shown in her four runs to date; lots more needed now in handicaps. |

7th (6) (5.5/1 +8%) Irresistible You |
5.5/1(+8%) | (6) Irresistible You 5.5/1, Ninth of 12 in claimer at Leopardstown (7.2f, good, 80/1) 12 days ago. Back up in trip. Paul Mulrennan an eye-catching booking for handicap debut but would need to see market support to make him of interest. Only ninth in Leopardstown claimer 12 days ago; she needs to bounce back now handicapping. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
METRIC won a shade cosily when recording a first success at Leicester on Wednesday and the David O'Meara-trained filly looks capable of shrugging off a 6lb penalty. Asgard's Captain found the drop to 7f against him when staying on into third at Wolverhampton recently and may emerge as the chief threat now upped to 1m1f for the first time. Future Times could appreciate the ease in trip and rounds off the shortlist.
METRIC impressed with how smoothly she moved into contention off a steady gallop when opening her account over further at Leicester 6 days ago and, with the likelihood of more to come, she could be up to defying a penalty, with Asgard's Captain rating the chief threat. Hidden Code may do best of the others.
David O'Meara's improving Time Test filly METRIC is taken to come out on top under a 6lb penalty for her recent Leicester win.

3.33/1(-33%) | (7) Delicate Girl 3.33/1, Promising sort. Second of 10 in maiden (11/2) at Galway (12f, good to soft) 25 days ago. That is just about the best form on offer and there should be more to come. Ran another solid race behind a promising newcomer at Galway (1m4f); thereabouts. |

5th (10) (8/1 -23%) Eziva |
8/1(-23%) | (10) Eziva 8/1, Thrice-raced filly. 3/1, fourth of 10 in maiden at Galway (12f, good to soft) 25 days ago, met some trouble. Yard in good form. Visored. Similar sort of form in her three runs, last time finishing behind Delicate Girl at Galway. |

6/1(-20%) | (2) Aird 6/1, Thrice-raced filly. 3/1, fifth of 12 in maiden at Leopardstown (12f, good) 68 days ago. Looks competitive on form. Below par two months ago but strong claims on his previous third at the Curragh. |

8th (8) (33/1 +0%) Diyaba |
33/1(+0%) | (8) Diyaba 33/1, 50/1, seventh of 13 in maiden at Killarney (11.2f, good to soft) on debut 43 days ago. Has ground to make up with Alalcance on their Killarney clash and went off 50s. |

10th (1) (80/1 -60%) Influential Lady |
80/1(-60%) | (1) Influential Lady 80/1, Twice-raced mare on Flat. Fair winner at 22f in chases. 5/1, sixth of 10 in handicap chase at Tramore (21.7f, soft) 9 days ago. Back on the level. Better known as a jumper having won over hurdles and fences. |

80/1(-100%) | (4) Cosmic Lady 80/1, Twice-raced filly. Seventh of 10 in maiden (33/1) at Galway (12f, good to soft) 25 days ago. Work to do on these terms. Has posted RPRs in the 60s in 1m3f/1m4f maidens and will need to raise her game. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
There are numerous form-lines tying the principal runners and perhaps well-bred NIGHT GLOW can continue her progression. Out of a winning sister to Oaks winner Light Shift, she is a sibling to four blacktype performers and while underwhelming on debut (2.5 lengths behind Dalliances), subsequently finished well at Killarney, hinting more improvement is likely and also steps up a furlong. Aird mightn't have been herself at Leopardstown and returns from a mini-break. She showed promise on his initial runs, beating Delicate Girl on her June reappearance but was subsequently disappointed slightly at Leopardstown, finishing behind Alalcance, which was then well beaten at Killarney. Delicate Girl holds first-time visored Eziva on Galway form, although is 7lb worse off while beautifully-bred Erato was laboured on CD debut in July and wears blinkers. Deadly Nightshade was behind Aird at Leopardstown and while she should progress, needs to find plenty improvement.
DELICATE GIRL bumped into a pretty useful newcomer at Galway last time but she beat the rest easily enough and is capable of winning a maiden. Alalcance and Erato are a couple of potential threats.
Jessica Harrington's ALALCANCE had a couple of today's rivals behind at Leopardstown and she's entitled to keep progressing.

2nd (3) (8.5/1 +39%) Impression Chic |
8.5/1(+39%) | (3) Impression Chic 8.5/1, £26,000 buy after finish runner-up on her completed start in points (Feb 5). Didn't achieve a great deal on hurdles debut in June (2m) and now upped in trip. She was beaten a long way on her switch to hurdling over 2m here. |

3rd (5) (5.5/1 +31%) Sunday Soldier |
5.5/1(+31%) | (5) Sunday Soldier 5.5/1, Verging on fair in bumpers in Ireland but nowhere near that level both starts over hurdles. Placed in bumpers but below that level in her recent hurdle runs; unconvincing. |

1.1/1(-77%) | (1) Fountainspinklady 1.1/1, Won a point bumper and also successful in a conventional one under Rules on second start for this yard at Newton Abbot in July. This looks a good opening switched to hurdling upped in trip. Newton Abbot bumper winner and found a weak race in which to go hurdling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (66/1 -164%) Princess Priya |
66/1(-164%) | (4) Princess Priya 66/1, Modest in bumpers but lightly raced and limited impact both hurdles starts for this yard. Bumper promise but it's been a very quiet start over hurdles. |

22/1(-57%) | (2) Hollywood Harmon 22/1, £1,000 6-y-o, first foal, dam unraced half-sister to useful hurdler/smart chaser (stayed 25f) Bob Lingo and fairly useful hurdler/chaser (stayed 3m) Talk The Lingo. Unplaced completed starts in Irish points, fourth last time (May 21). Irish point form is nothing to shout about whatsoever but has joined a respected yard. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
A taking winner of a bumper at Newton Abbot last time out, FOUNTAINSPINKLADY can be trusted to follow up on her hurdling bow. The step up in trip doesn't look as though it will inconvenience her and she gets the vote ahead of Sunday Soldier and Jolie Baie, who ran a career best when runner-up over C&D last month. Impression Chic is interesting too.
Bumper-winner FOUNTAINSPINKLADY is bred to relish this trip and in truth, she could hardly have been found a weaker race for hurdles debut. Jolie's Baie's limitations are well established but a repeat of her effort in handicap company over C&D will see her thereabouts.

1st (4) (3.2/1 +4%) Rwenearlytheredad |
3.2/1(+4%) | (4) Rwenearlytheredad 3.2/1, Latest win at Doncaster in June. 9/2, length last of 5 to Wreck It Ryley in handicap at Ayr (7.2f, good to firm) 12 days ago. Weakened in the closing stages that day and may last longer now switched to a sharper track. Didn't convince on the stamina front behind Wreck It Ryley latest (4lb better off tonight). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (22/1 +33%) Keep Me Stable |
22/1(+33%) | (3) Keep Me Stable 22/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 80/1, respectable seventh of 14 in handicap at Newcastle (7.1f) 26 days ago. Looks up against it. Offered little in two runs back for her new yard; needs to settle better from a wide stall. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (2.5/1 -11%) Wreck It Ryley |
2.5/1(-11%) | (1) Wreck It Ryley 2.5/1, 13/2, career best when winning 5-runner handicap at Ayr (7.2f, good to firm) 12 days ago, well positioned. Should be in the mix once again up just 2 lb. Unexposed over 7f; adaptable as regards tactics and goes on the shortlist upped 2lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (8.5/1 +15%) Secret Joy |
8.5/1(+15%) | (8) Secret Joy 8.5/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Good seventh of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 16/1) 25 days ago. Hopes pinned on the first-time visor helping to spark some improvement here. Limited but two of his siblings won for headgear first going on, which is a possible angle. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (20/1 -25%) Doon The Glen |
20/1(-25%) | (9) Doon The Glen 20/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Seventh of 10 in handicap at Ayr (5f, good, 28/1) 17 days ago, merely passing beaten rivals. Significantly back up in trip. Yard saddles a more appealing candidate in Cuban Rock. Not shown a lot to date; may need more time and Cuban Rock looks his trainer's best chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (11/1 -47%) Mai Alward |
11/1(-47%) | (7) Mai Alward 11/1, Blinkered for 1st time, third of 13 in handicap (33/1) at Newcastle (7.1f) 14 days ago. Better though that effort was, she still looked rather hesitant and, moreover, she's yet to shine on turf. Best run for this yard latest (first-time blinkers); has to improve on previous turf work. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (25/1 -79%) Ledger |
25/1(-79%) | (6) Ledger 25/1, 80/1, twenty-first of 24 in handicap at Naas (5.9f, soft) 22 days ago. Back up in trip and cheekpieces on 1st time, this Irish raider is probably worth taking on. Irish maiden who's finished well beaten in two runs back; would want to see some support. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (2.75/1 +31%) Cuban Rock |
2.75/1(+31%) | (5) Cuban Rock 2.75/1, Course winner in July. Seventh of 9 in handicap at Ayr (7.2f, good, 12/1) 17 days ago, going off too hard. Better than the bare result on that occasion and likely to be thereabouts under stronger handling here. Pulled hard when going too fast last time and this mark should be within reach if amenable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (18/1 -177%) Headabovetherest |
18/1(-177%) | (2) Headabovetherest 18/1, 10/3, tenth of 14 in handicap at Thirsk (6f, good to firm) 18 days ago, slowly away. Best effort so far was at Newcastle and he'll be of greater interest when returned to the AW. Often blows the start and/or pulls hard; will need to settle better back up from 6f. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Wreck It Ryley appreciated the return to 7f when getting up to lead in the closing stages at Ayr recently and is sure to prove popular off only 2lb higher. However, RWENEARLYTHEREDAD, who was just over a length behind on that occasion, may gain his revenge. The Havana Grey gelding is 9lb better off when taking Zak Wheatley's 5lb claim into account, which could be enough to reverse the from. Cuban Rock wasn't at his best last time out and is another to note on the drop in class.
CUBAN ROCK ultimately paid the price for setting a ferocious early pace when giving way inside the final furlong at Ayr 17 days ago. He was in good form here prior to that and is taken to resume winning ways. Rwenearlytheredad was only fifth in the Ayr race won by Wreck It Ryley recently but the outcome could be different this time, with Declan Carroll's charge likely to have a better chance of seeing this trip out round here.
Unexposed over this trip, WRECK IT RYLEY can confirm recent Ayr dominance over Rwenearlytheredad. Cuban Rock is second choice.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
BARNACULLIA is a strong stayer who is just 2lb higher than when winning a Fegentri Series handicap at Leopardstown. Reliable in all codes, he was well held when fifth at the Galway festival but the first two horses pulled well clear and a reproduction of his latest win would give him every chance under today's 5lb claimer. Walking On Glass beat the selection 1.3 lengths at Galway and subsequently ran well at the Curragh 16 days ago. The pair meet on identical terms but the selection is two years younger and less exposed. Khadaash hasn't run since a useful fifth-placing on All-Weather Finals Day in April but could be ready for his local yard. He stays well but mightn't appreciate easy ground. Crassus was behind the selection at Galway and likes soft while Herculaneum won well at Down Royal in July and ran well at Galway but isn't ahead of the handicapper. Kendancer needs these staying distances while Dartan runs in first-time cheekpieces.
Multiple jumps winner BARNACULLIA did the job well when opening his account in this sphere at the fifth attempt at Leopardstown recently. Off just a 2 lb higher mark here and with this stiffer test unlikely to be an issue, the 6-y-o is taken to follow up. Next on the list is Walking On Glass, who performed with credit in a big-field handicap at the Curragh last time. Herculaneum also enters calculations.
If there's an improver lurking then it's KHADAASH, who returns to turf on the back of an encouraging run of form on the AW.

4.5/1(+18%) | (10) Best Mate Dave 4.5/1, After 6 months off, showed much more than previously when successful on his handicap debut here (2½m, good) in June. However, he was suited by the way the race developed and more will be needed back up in trip off a 7 lb higher mark. Much improved on handicap debut here and could easily cope with the 7lb rise. |

4th (12) (10/1 +17%) Inspector Lynley |
10/1(+17%) | (12) Inspector Lynley 10/1, No impact in bumpers/novice hurdles but has made the frame both completed starts in handicaps over 2½m here. Still, he'll need to improve for this step up in trip if he's to open his account. Beaten under 10l in his two completed handicaps but handicap mark hasn't really moved. |

5th (3) (7/1 +56%) Red Happy |
7/1(+56%) | (3) Red Happy 7/1, Scored 3 times (all 3m plus) in 2022, bagging handicap chases off much higher marks than this either side of landing the odds in a weak novice hurdle at Southwell. Not in anything like the same form so far this year, though, and it's easy to have reservations at present. His recent third was remote and he's been struggling for a while. |

6th (4) (3.5/1 +22%) Judge Earle |
3.5/1(+22%) | (4) Judge Earle 3.5/1, Prolific over fences last summer, winning 5 times, and back in the groove when landing handicap chases at Uttoxeter and here (both over 2½m) last month. Just touched off over 23.8f at Perth recently and he has to be feared back in this sphere off an attractive mark. Near miss at Perth was off a 20lb higher chase mark; won't be far away. |

7th (11) (25/1 -25%) Off The Planet |
25/1(-25%) | (11) Off The Planet 25/1, Record became distinctly patchy for Philip Hobbs and while he posted his best effort for a while when third of 11 over C&D on second start for new yard here last month, others basically look stronger. 0-12 under rules; latest 11l third over C&D on soft ground was mildly encouraging. |

|PU| (5) (7/1 +13%) Aki Bomaye |
7/1(+13%) | (5) Aki Bomaye 7/1, Winner of sole start between the flags but 0-9 under Rules for the Tizzards. Still, he needs a second look in the betting starting out for an in-form, predominantly Flat-orientated yard which boasts a good strike rate over jumps, plus he has the assistance of Harry Cobden. 0-9 under rules but some positives over hurdles and fences; now with new yard. |

|PU| (6) (12/1 -50%) Lighthouse Mill |
12/1(-50%) | (6) Lighthouse Mill 12/1, Has been thriving this spring/summer, scoring over 2¾m at Stratford in June and hitting the crossbar on his next 2 starts. Wasn't disgraced off this career-high mark at Bangor (19.6f, good) last time and each-way shout eased slightly in class here. Consistent run of form in recent weeks and returning to further won't harm. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Denied by the narrowest of margins over C&D last time out, CLASSIC CONCORDE deserves a change in luck and he can get that on this occasion. The 10-year-old is capable of landing a third career victory, with the in-form Judge Earle and last month's C&D winner Woodie Flash looking best placed to chase him home. Best Mate Dave and Blue Sans cannot be ruled out either.
If able to reproduce something akin to his recent chase form back in this sphere, JUDGE EARLE will surely take plenty of stopping off a potentially lenient hurdles mark. Aki Bomaye clearly has a fair bit to prove but he's interesting on debut for the Jack Jones yard with Harry Cobden booked, and market confidence behind this 8-y-o should be heeded. Classic Concorde is third choice ahead of the hat-trick seeking Blue Sans.
A few hold chances but BEST MATE DAVE (nap) probably has more to offer after his successful handicap debut.

1st (5) (3.33/1 +17%) Sutue Alshams |
3.33/1(+17%) | (5) Sutue Alshams 3.33/1, 3/1 and blinkered for 1st time tongue strap on for 1st time, below form eighth of 13 in handicap at Yarmouth (14.1f, good) 28 days ago. Chance if rediscovering old form. Yet to fire in four starts this year; drop back in trip may suit, but others more solid. |

2nd (7) (9/1 +73%) Trailblazer |
9/1(+73%) | (7) Trailblazer 9/1, Remains a maiden after 16 Flat runs. Thirteenth of 15 in handicap at Thirsk (12f, good to soft, 28/1) 11 days ago. Readily passed over. Beaten a very long way in three of his last four starts; now 0-16; hard to recommend. |

3rd (8) (2.25/1 -50%) Blue Antares |
2.25/1(-50%) | (8) Blue Antares 2.25/1, Career best when winning 8-runner handicap at Ripon (12f, good to soft, 10/3) 10 days ago. 7 lb rise may not be enough to prevent him from going in again. Off the mark in good style last time; 7lb higher but a major player in this field. |

4th (4) (6.5/1 -30%) Golden Valour |
6.5/1(-30%) | (4) Golden Valour 6.5/1, Temperamental sort. Twenty-eight runs since last win in 2020. Fourth of 7 in handicap at Ayr (10f, good, 4/1) 17 days ago. Up in trip and shouldn't be far away if he puts his best foot forward. Losing run up to 28 and he's still to prove he wants this far; look elsewhere. |

5th (3) (8.5/1 -31%) A Shining Moon |
8.5/1(-31%) | (3) A Shining Moon 8.5/1, Winner at Pontefract in May. Respectable second of 9 in handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter (15.8f, good to soft, 10/1) 32 days ago, finishing well. Possibilities back in this sphere. Returns to the Flat after running well over hurdles the last twice; each-way claims. |

6th (1) (3.6/1 +35%) Graces Quest |
3.6/1(+35%) | (1) Graces Quest 3.6/1, C&D winner. 9/2 and hooded for 1st time, fourth of 7 in handicap at Ayr (13.1f, good to firm) 12 days ago. Now 1 lb lower and can make her presence felt. 2-4 over C&D and back off last winning mark; leading claims. |

7th (6) (16/1 +0%) Casa Luna |
16/1(+0%) | (6) Casa Luna 16/1, Bit below form fourth of 8 in handicap at Ripon (9.8f, good to soft, 33/1) 10 days ago. Back up in trip and not without each-way hope off this reduced mark. Ten-race maiden who is starting to look exposed and still has stamina to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (66/1 -164%) Y B Sober |
66/1(-164%) | (9) Y B Sober 66/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Tongue strap on for 1st time, last of 7 in minor event at Nottingham (10.2f, good to soft, 150/1) 19 days ago. Up in trip and cheekpieces on for 1st time for this handicap debut. Well beaten in all four starts; makes handicap debut with cheekpieces added. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
BLUE ANTARES repaid his followers with a ready display at Ripon 10 days ago and should take some stopping if running to a similar level. Charlie Johnston's colt appeared to appreciate a patient ride on that occasion and a 7lb rise looks more than fair. Golden Valour has been shaping as if this longer trip could bring about some improvement, with the seven-year-old feared most, ahead of C&D winner Graces Quest.
It was at the tenth time of asking that BLUE ANTARES opened his account at Redcar, but the way he went about his business there strongly suggested that the wait for further success will not be long. Indeed, the Frankel colt looks more than capable of defying a 7 lb rise in a race of this nature. Graces Quest and Golden Valour are taken to fill the places.
The vote goes to GRACES QUEST who is 2-4 over C&D and is back off her last winning mark.
Ths is the racecard key.
