1st (2) (1.88/1 +37%) Ganesha |
1.88/1(+37%) | (2) Ganesha 1.88/1, C&D winner in May on debut. Ran creditably when third of 10 in minor event at Carlisle (5.8f, good, 13/2) 12 days ago. Can give another good account as he heads into nurseries. Third off this mark in nursery at Carlisle 12 days ago and he can be in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (5/1 +29%) Indication Call |
5/1(+29%) | (4) Indication Call 5/1, Visored for 1st time, put experience to good use when winning 4-runner maiden at Ayr (5f, good, 11/8) 73 days ago (subsequently gelded). Will need to find more as as he makes his handicap bow. Makes nursery debut after break; top northern trainer runs two; market may be informative. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (3.33/1 +0%) Sayidh Kingman |
3.33/1(+0%) | (5) Sayidh Kingman 3.33/1, Ran best race yet when fourth of 9 in maiden at this course (6f, good to firm, 4/1) 29 days ago, collared final strides. Can make a winning handicap debut back down in trip. Latest form has worked out well; could benefit from the drop back in trip on nursery debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (1.88/1 +6%) Valour And Swagger |
1.88/1(+6%) | (1) Valour And Swagger 1.88/1, Made winning debut at Windsor in April. 12/1, well below previous form when tenth of 12 in minor event at Epsom (6f, good to firm) 48 days ago. Can get back on track now handicapping returned to 5f/softer ground. Likely to be back on slow surface for this first nursery start and could play leading role. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
VALOUR AND SWAGGER failed to make an impact in the Woodcote last month, but, having raced keenly out wide, that performance can be forgiven. The son of Blue Point sluiced up on soft ground to make a winning debut in April and lost nothing in defeat when finishing second at Ascot the following month. The return to slower ground conditions ought to be in his favour and Karl Burke's charge is fancied to give weight and a beating to his rivals. Ganesha appeals as his main danger, while Indication Call heads the remainder.
On her third start, SAYIDH KINGMAN produced her best effort when not beaten far at this course last time and she can continue her progress back down in trip for her handicap debut. Charlie Johnston's filly is taken to get the better of Valour And Swagger, who could get back on track now handicapping, while Ganesha also merits consideration.
Topweight VALOUR AND SWAGGER showed plenty of promise on soft going in the first half of the spring and gets the nod.

1st (5) (5/1 +9%) Penguin Island |
5/1(+9%) | (5) Penguin Island 5/1, Back to best when creditable ½-length third of 10 to Level Up in handicap at Newbury (5.2f, good to firm) 14 days ago. Hard to knock her attitude despite her maiden status and she could make presence felt. Largely consistent maiden; weighted to reverse Newbury placings with Level Up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (3.5/1 +61%) Four Adaay |
3.5/1(+61%) | (3) Four Adaay 3.5/1, Made most of good opportunity to win at Newmarket in June. Creditable fourth of 8 in handicap at Haydock (5f, good to firm, 5/1) 14 days ago. Place claims. Won weak race at Newmarket last month; creditable fourth at Haydock since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (5.5/1 +31%) Some Nightmare |
5.5/1(+31%) | (2) Some Nightmare 5.5/1, Course winner. Chased home an improving rival when second of 6 in handicap (7/2) at this course (6.1f, good to firm) 34 days ago. Can give another good account. 3-9 at Chepstow; close second here last time despite a tardy start; possibilities. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (9/1 -64%) Level Up |
9/1(-64%) | (1) Level Up 9/1, 4 wins from 13 runs this year. Career best when winning 11-runner handicap (11/2) at Yarmouth (5.2f, good) 8 days ago, just holding on. Carries penalty. This will be tougher but he's clearly thriving. Had very little to spare the last twice; this 7lb higher mark may thwart the hat-trick. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (4/1 -14%) Gannon Glory |
4/1(-14%) | (4) Gannon Glory 4/1, Attracted support and bounced back to his best with cheekpieces applied when winning 14-runner handicap at Pontefract (6f, good) 17 days ago, running on. First run for yard after leaving Richard Fahey. Plaer with good-value claimer aboard. Scored in first-time cheekpieces at Pontefract 17 days ago (final run for Richard Fahey). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (2.5/1 +38%) Connie's Rose |
2.5/1(+38%) | (6) Connie's Rose 2.5/1, Four-time course winner. 3 wins from 8 runs this year. 6/5, career best when winning 7-runner handicap at Bath (5f, firm) 22 days ago. Has good chance on form. In-form filly who gamely made all at Bath most recently; good record at Chepstow. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (40/1 -100%) Wiley Post |
40/1(-100%) | (7) Wiley Post 40/1, C&D winner. Ran well at Windsor on his penultimate outing but was possibly amiss and failed to beat a rival home in a 6-runner handicap at Brighton (6f, good to firm) 51 days ago. Others more persuasive. Veteran who has a poor strike-rate in recent years. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (33/1 -65%) Flip Mode |
33/1(-65%) | (8) Flip Mode 33/1, Dual C&D winner back in 2021 but has shown precious little in a pair of recent outings following a 22-month absence. Needs to show he retains ability but is well treated granted a revival. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
A game winner of his last two starts, Level Up can go close if anywhere near that form. However, the vote goes to CONNIE'S ROSE, who has been fairly consistent this season and scored by three quarters of a length at Bath last time out. She has gone up 4lb for that success which may not be enough to prevent another bold bid. Penguin Island adds further spice to the race.
CONNIE'S ROSE has already won twice over C&D this year and resumed winning ways at Bath last time, so is fancied to continue her good spell and notch a fourth win of the campaign. Gannon Glory was back to his best on his final outing for Richard Fahey last time and is interesting now with the Archie Watson yard, with Penguin Island and the in-form Level Up others to consider.
Consistent maiden PENGUIN ISLAND is unexposed at 5f and may be capable of getting off the mark. Some Nightmare is second choice.

1st (3) (2/1 +43%) Eminny |
2/1(+43%) | (3) Eminny 2/1, Confirmed debut promise when won 9-runner minor event at Beverley (7.4f, good) 12 days ago, pushed out. Type to go on progressing and opening mark looks reasonable. Quite a comfortable winner of 7.5f Beverley novice 12 days ago; more to come from her. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (4/1 +11%) Watcha Matey |
4/1(+11%) | (1) Watcha Matey 4/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 9/2, third of 9 in maiden at Salisbury (7f, good to firm) 22 days ago. Booking of Murphy a plus. Makes nursery debut. Should give another good account. Fair form on all three starts; has the assistance of Oisin Murphy for nursery debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (14/1 -40%) Ten Card Brag |
14/1(-40%) | (4) Ten Card Brag 14/1, Stepped up markedly on debut when landing a novice at Lingfield (6f, AW) 31 days ago, cosily. Open to further improvement but handicapper has taken no chances with opening mark. Left 6f course debut well behind when winning on AW next time; likely more to come. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (5/1 +23%) Charged Up |
5/1(+23%) | (2) Charged Up 5/1, Didn't need to be at best when winning 7-runner maiden at Musselburgh (7.2f, good to firm, 10/11) 17 days ago, having run of race. More required now switched to nurseries but deserves respect. Came good when stepped up to 7f last time; ought to be very competitive on nursery debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (3/1 +0%) Art Historian |
3/1(+0%) | (5) Art Historian 3/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 3/1, second of 6 in maiden at Chepstow (6.1f, good to firm) 34 days ago. Makes nursery debut. Going the right way and shouldn't be discounted. Going right way for leading stable and respected now stepping up to 7f for nursery debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (8/1 -45%) Forever A Diamond |
8/1(-45%) | (7) Forever A Diamond 8/1, Promising individual. Very good second of 11 in nursery at Lingfield (6f, firm, 7/1) 8 days ago, no match for winner. More to come and she seems likely to feature. Kept on well for second on 6f nursery debut last week and could be more to come at 7f. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
TEN CARD BRAG kept on well to score in novice company at Lingfield, seeing off subsequent winner Bigger Than Giga into third, and an opening mark of 72 looks workable. A half-brother to the Group 2-placed Thunder Beauty, there is likely more to come from him and he gets the vote ahead of Eminny, who notched a comfortable success over an extended 7f at Beverley earlier this month. Fellow last-time-out winner Charged Up also warrants a market check.
FOREVER A DIAMOND boasts a solid profile and promises to be well suited by the step up in trip, so she's marginally preferred to recent novice winner Eminny. Art Historian is another likely improver in what could prove to be a strong nursery for the grade.
Pretty much all of these have positive profiles so it's only a tentative vote which goes the way of recent Beverley winner EMINNY.

1st (4) (3/1 +0%) Agonyclite |
3/1(+0%) | (4) Agonyclite 3/1, Winner at Newcastle in March. Returned to form when ¾-length second of 9 to Rain Cap in handicap at Catterick (7f, good to firm) 8 days ago. Not taken lightly off same mark. Second to Rain Cap over 7f at Catterick and shaped as though he would be fine back at 6f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (3.5/1 -40%) Rain Cap |
3.5/1(-40%) | (2) Rain Cap 3.5/1, C&D winner who got back on scoreboard when taking 9-runner handicap at Catterick (7f, good to firm) 8 days ago by ¾ length from Agonyclite. 5 lb penalty to carry now but another bold bid is on the cards. Won this last year and scored at Catterick last week; key player if again on a going day. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (9/1 +25%) The Gay Blade |
9/1(+25%) | (5) The Gay Blade 9/1, C&D winner. Eleventh of 12 in handicap at Ayr (6f, good, 25/1) 3 days ago. Others preferred. 1lb lower than for last September's C&D win but unable to threaten since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (3/1 +40%) Autumn Flight |
3/1(+40%) | (1) Autumn Flight 3/1, Dual winner this year who has acquitted himself well in defeat in recent starts, latest when sixth of 12 in Beverley handicap (5f, soft) 2 days ago. Respected. Fourth of 15 over C&D three weeks ago; didn't run badly on Tuesday; might not be far away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (9/1 +0%) Zegos Surprise |
9/1(+0%) | (8) Zegos Surprise 9/1, One win from 21 Flat runs. Seventeen runs since last win in 2021. Ninth of 10 in handicap at Ayr (6f, good to soft, 13/2) 10 days ago. Needs a couple of these to falter. 1 lb out of the weights. On a long losing run but perhaps this stiff track will help; not ruled out each-way. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (14/1 +22%) Kraken Florida |
14/1(+22%) | (6) Kraken Florida 14/1, Winner at Newcastle in February. Below form eighth of 13 in handicap at Newcastle (6f, 16/1) 29 days ago, missing break. Others more persuasive. In good form on AW early this year and back from a break when mid-division last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (33/1 -175%) Somewhere Secret |
33/1(-175%) | (3) Somewhere Secret 33/1, First run since leaving Lisa Williamson when last of 11 in handicap at Carlisle (5f, good, 7/1) 12 days ago, lost all chance at start. Back up in trip. Chance on old form. His mark continues to tumble but this 9yo has struggled this season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (16/1 +36%) Nodsasgoodasawink |
16/1(+36%) | (10) Nodsasgoodasawink 16/1, Twenty runs since last win in 2021. Ninth of 12 in handicap (80/1) at Ayr (6f, good) 3 days ago. Risky proposition at present. 1 lb out of the weights. Has been running off this basement mark this season and she's been unable to threaten. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (8.5/1 +6%) Sharrabang |
8.5/1(+6%) | (9) Sharrabang 8.5/1, Twenty five runs since last win in 2021. Bit below form fifth of 11 in handicap (15/2) at Carlisle (5f, good) 12 days ago. Back up in trip. Not out of things. 1 lb out of the weights. On a long losing run but some good efforts this season and could be a contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (12) (100/1 -52%) Christy's Star |
100/1(-52%) | (12) Christy's Star 100/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Cheekpieces on for 1st time, twelfth of 13 in handicap (150/1) at this course (5f, good to soft) 5 days ago. Blinkered for 1st time. Hard to fancy. 1 lb out of the weights. Big odds and well beaten on all five starts; first-time blinkers replace cheekpieces. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
A few of these will need more to feature, so it looks best to side with recent Catterick scorer RAIN CAP. The six-year-old won the corresponding event last year and, having defied higher marks in the past, he appeals as the one to beat under a penalty. Agonyclite, who finished behind him in second that day, is entitled to go close with a 5lb swing at the weights. Somewhere Secret can chase the pair home.
RAIN CAP had a bit in hand when scoring at Catterick last week and is taken to follow up. Agonyclite and Autumn Flight head the list of dangers.
Last year's winner Rain Cap won at Catterick last week but carries a penalty and the runner-up AGONYCLITE can gain his revenge.

1st (5) (5/1 -122%) Azahara Palace |
5/1(-122%) | (5) Azahara Palace 5/1, Didn't need to improve to win 5-runner maiden at this C&D (good to firm, 10/11) 24 days ago, having run of race. Interesting handicap debutant. Promise in first 2 starts before winning over C&D last month; more to come in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (14/1 -56%) Ellade |
14/1(-56%) | (1) Ellade 14/1, Shaped as if still in reasonable form when seventh of 9 in handicap (5/1) at Doncaster (8f, good to firm) 20 days ago but others appeal as better treated. Not fired this summer but she's dropped to a lowly mark and conditions should be fine. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (1.25/1 +9%) Eyeshadow |
1.25/1(+9%) | (6) Eyeshadow 1.25/1, From a talented family and very much caught the eye when fourth of 9 in minor event at Thirsk (8f, good to firm) 15 days ago, not knocked about. Makes handicap debut. Expected to be bang there. Promise the last twice and brings clear potential to her handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (5/1 +50%) Chorus Line |
5/1(+50%) | (3) Chorus Line 5/1, Showed good turn of foot when winning handicap debut at Leicester in May before having little go her way when sixth of 9 in handicap at Haydock (8f, firm) 36 days ago. Her previous Leicester success was cosy and she's well worth another chance. Made a winning h'cap debut in May (7f); less good latest; unraced on slower than good. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (9/1 +18%) Alyara |
9/1(+18%) | (2) Alyara 9/1, Shaped better than the result when creditable third of 8 in handicap at Lingfield (7f, good to firm) 19 days ago, having to wait for a gap and staing on well once in clear. Respected. Conditions should suit and her latest run was her best of the season; shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (4.5/1 +44%) Ae Fond Kiss |
4.5/1(+44%) | (4) Ae Fond Kiss 4.5/1, Showed benefit of her reapperance when second of 7 in handicap at Sandown (9f, good to soft, 17/2) 65 days ago. Can give another good account. Ffos Las novice winner last summer; fair second at Sandown latest; more required this time. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
EYESHADOW finished a fair fourth in novice company on her most recent outing and the daughter of Expert Eye is fancied to make a winning handicap debut in the hands of Richard Kingscote. She is related to a few smart types, including Group 2-placed Gavota, so further improvement looks likely. Azahara Palace kept on well to score over C&D last time out and is feared most off an opening mark of 68, while Ae Fond Kiss completes the shortlist.
EYESHADOW is every inch the type to take off in handicaps and this well-bred Juddmonte filly is fancied to take all the beating here. Chorus Line was a tidy winner at Leicester on her penultimate start and is better than she was able to show at Haydock last time, so she merits respect, whilst Alyara is also shortlisted after a good effort at Lingfield last time.
Unexposed 3yos Azahara Palace and EYESHADOW appeal most and the latter could have the greater scope for improvement.

0.44/1(+29%) | (10) Spectacular Style 0.44/1, Promising type. Second of 6 in maiden at Salisbury (9.9f, good to firm, 8/11) 22 days ago. Open to improvement and will take all the beating. Promise when second over 1m2f at Redcar and Salisbury; sets a clear standard. |

5th (4) (100/1 -203%) First Cut |
100/1(-203%) | (4) First Cut 100/1, Zoustar gelding. Half-brother to several winners, including smart winner up to 6f Lady Macapa and useful 9f-11f winner Solvang. Dam lightly raced. Makes some appeal on paper. Related to winners but betting the best guide to expectations on debut. |

66/1(-65%) | (9) Regency Boy 66/1, Once-raced maiden. 100/1, fourth of 6 in minor event at Nottingham (10.2f, heavy) on debut 69 days ago, finishing with running left. Cheekpieces on 1st time. May do better. 100-1 but showed ability on heavy-ground debut in May; cheekpieces added now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (3) (300/1 -20%) Balmy Breese |
300/1(-20%) | (3) Balmy Breese 300/1, Twice-raced maiden. 200/1, eleventh of 12 in minor event at Haydock (7f, firm) 13 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Well held in two outings over 7f in recent weeks. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Alshadhian finished fourth behind subsequent Derby second and King Edward VII Stakes winner King Of Steel on his racecourse debut last October, and must warrant a market check based on that. However, SPECTACULAR STYLE has filled the runner-up spot on both his career starts and the son of Frankel is fancied to get off the mark at the third time of asking. No Surrender is another to bear in mind.
SPECTACULAR STYLE has shaped well on both starts to date and probably won't need to improve to open his account at the likely expense of Alshadhian, who is open to improvement. Governor or India could feature if blinkers have a positive effect.
Roger Varian's SPECTACULAR STYLE sets a good standard on his runner-up efforts in recent months and can make it third time lucky.

5th (4) (4/1 +43%) Bobby's Blessing |
4/1(+43%) | (4) Bobby's Blessing 4/1, Made winning debut at Beverley in May and ran to similar level in defeat both starts since. Untried on slow ground but remains low mileage and can't be ruled out. Fair fourth of six at Beverley in his first handicap and he's in good hands to progress. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Having defeated Shine On Brendan over course and distance in May, BASHFUL showed the benefit of recent wind surgery when following up at Newcastle last month. Iain Jardine's charge is now 5lb higher back on turf, but that might not be enough to stop him. The aforementioned must be considered following his latest Musselburgh success, while the versatile Detective can mount a serious challenge too.
BASHFUL arrives at the top of his game and makes plenty of appeal in his hat-trick bid. Shine On Brendan is feared most.
Course winners Bashful and SHINE ON BRENDAN arrive in fine form and preference is for Jim Goldie's runner.

1st (9) (6.5/1 +19%) Louis Treize |
6.5/1(+19%) | (9) Louis Treize 6.5/1, Unreliable sort. Course winner. Latest win here in June. 4/1, good ½-length second of 8 to On Edge in handicap at this C&D (good to soft) 10 days ago. Reproduction of that effort would put him firmly in the picture. Two best runs for this yard have come here; should be in the thick of it once again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (5.5/1 +0%) Bama Lama |
5.5/1(+0%) | (8) Bama Lama 5.5/1, 3/1, career best when winning 9-runner handicap at this C&D (good to soft) 10 days ago. Clearly in good heart and she should give another good account under a penalty. Game C&D winner ten days ago; penalised but likely to be in the thick of it again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (5/1 -25%) On Edge |
5/1(-25%) | (7) On Edge 5/1, Career best when winning 8-runner handicap (13/8) at this C&D (good to soft) 10 days ago by ½ length from Louis Treize. Another bold show likely under a penalty. Dug deep to see off Louis Treize over C&D ten days ago; more required under penalty. |

4th (3) (9/1 -29%) Evasive Power |
9/1(-29%) | (3) Evasive Power 9/1, Seventh of 8 in handicap (4/1) at Lingfield (7f, AW). Off 139 days and it's probably best to look elsewhere on this occasion. On a fair mark but he returns from a break in a competitive race of its type. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (3/1 +70%) Joy Choi |
3/1(+70%) | (6) Joy Choi 3/1, C&D winner. Thirteen runs since last win in 2021. 4/1, below form fourth of 8 in handicap at Salisbury (6f, soft) 5 days ago. Others make more appeal from a win point of view. C&D winner; below par at Salisbury on Saturday and others bring more pressing claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (2.25/1 +18%) Eight Mile |
2.25/1(+18%) | (2) Eight Mile 2.25/1, 15/2, career best when winning 7-runner handicap at Brighton (6f, good) 9 days ago. Leading claims under a penalty with star apprentice Billy Loughnane again in the hot-seat. Engaged 7.40 Yarmouth Wednesday. Has won two in a row since being dropped back to 6f, the latest at Yarmouth yesterday. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (33/1 -83%) Many Rivers |
33/1(-83%) | (5) Many Rivers 33/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 5/1, seventh of 10 in handicap at Haydock (7f, good to firm) 14 days ago, slowly away. Each-way shout if she puts her best foot forward. Yet to build on her debut promise; return to 6f can help and not yet fully exposed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (200/1 -400%) My Opinion |
200/1(-400%) | (4) My Opinion 200/1, Last of 10 in handicap (7/1) at Kempton (6f). Off 92 days and will need to raise his game in first-time cheekpieces here if he's to open his account. Ran OK on seasonal return in March but couldn't build on it one month later; headgear now. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
LOUIS TREIZE recorded a much-improved second on his return to turf earlier this month and the fact he retains the mark from that outing makes him of significant interest. Although he is rated 2lb above his last winning mark, he is taken to get the better of recent C&D winner Bama Lama, given she has to shoulder a 5lb penalty. On Edge beat the selection last time out but now reopposes on worse terms.
Though LOUIS TREIZE isn't the most reliable, he put in a good shift when narrowly outpointed by On Edge over C&D recently and has a good chance of turning the tables on that rival armed with a 5 lb pull. Bama Lama was a winner on the same card and may emerge as the main danger, ahead of On Edge, but they will all have their work cut out if Eight Mile, who is due to run at Yarmouth on Wednesday, lines up for this.
On Edge can confirm recent C&D placings with Louis Treize but BAMA LAMA is fancied to beat them both.

10th (1) (18/1 -200%) Arlecchino's Gift |
18/1(-200%) | (1) Arlecchino's Gift 18/1, Modest gelding. Latest win at Windsor in June. 12/1, fifth of 8 in handicap at Chepstow (6.1f, good to soft) 10 days ago, slowly away. Can get competitive in a thin race. Back to form to win at Windsor (6f) last month; only fifth since but still respected here. |

13th (8) (14/1 +22%) Lincoln Red |
14/1(+22%) | (8) Lincoln Red 14/1, Poor gelding. Sixteen runs since last win in 2020. Respectable sixth of 12 in minor event at Yarmouth (6f, good to firm, 22/1) 35 days ago, never nearer. Not discounted. Went close on turf last summer and may come on for his comeback run last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (6) (66/1 -32%) Kittybrewster |
66/1(-32%) | (6) Kittybrewster 66/1, Fourteenth of 20 in handicap (100/1) at Thirsk (6f, good) 61 days ago. Others make more appeal. Placed on AW at start of career but largely struggled since. |

25/1(-14%) | (11) Roman Blaze 25/1, Modest gelding. Tongue strap on for 1st time, seventh of 10 in handicap at Ayr (6f, good to soft, 18/1) 10 days ago, slowly away. Others are more persuasive. Maiden who never threatened in 6f Ayr handicap ten days ago. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
A weak contest in which a tentative vote goes to BOARHUNT, who sports first-time cheekpieces following a fair third at Wolverhampton earlier this month. He must have a good chance if building on that on his return to classified stakes company. Arlecchino's Gift can give him most to think about when taking into account his success at Windsor on his penultimate outing, while Malham Tarn Cove completes the shortlist.
MALHAM TARN COVE is one of few to arrive in any sort of form and he's the most solid option. Boarhunt can't be ruled out for all that he's yet to prove himself on turf and Dodgy Bob deserves respect having shaped a bit better than the result at Chester last time.
The suggestion is MALHAM TARN COVE, who arrives on the back of some creditable placed efforts in handicaps, including over C&D on soft.

Likely a longer-term prospect. Brother to two winners for the yard; makes his belated debut and is probably best watched. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Crack Shot took a sizeable step forward from his first start to score at Nottingham over an extended mile, where he accounted for a subsequent winner back in third, but he may struggle to give his 7lb penalty away to BOTANICAL. The son of Lope De Vega showed plenty of promise on debut at Kempton when just held for second by a neck and he appears open to improvement. Any market support for Big Hamish on debut should be noted.
This can go to BOTANICAL, who was doing his best work at the finish on debut at Kempton last month and will have learnt plenty from that experience. Crack Shot looks the obvious danger on the back of his Nottingham victory, whilst Unlimited can also make his presence felt.
The Roger Varian-trained BOTANICAL kept on well to go close on last month's debut over 7f at Kempton and he can go one better.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Deacs Delight has stepped up his form since running in classified events the last twice, and he was only denied by just under a length last time. However, he now returns to the handicap ranks which could pave the way for GALILEO GLASS. If the four-year-old can settle better than his latest effort when third at Yarmouth, he could be the one to beat. Runner Bean is another to consider.
GALILEO GLASS took a step back in the right direction when third at Yarmouth last week and is on a good mark if building on that. The in-form Deacs Delight is next best ahead of Fact or Fable.
In-form DEACS DELIGHT could well defy his revised mark back at handicap level. Galileo Glass is second choice.

25/1(-178%) | (1) Tahasun 25/1, 16/1, good second of 8 in handicap at Newcastle (10.2f) 29 days ago. Weighted to go well. Best form on AW, including latest second, and opposed back on turf. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
PARADISE ROW broke her maiden in a game manner at Chelmsford last month and has a live chance of following up now she steps into handicap company. Her intended bow in the sphere was rightly called to a halt due to a faller at the start and this progressive three-year-old is fancied to score again. Mogwai is respected but concedes 12lb to the selection, so Measured Moments is suggested as a bigger threat.
Lots with chances. HAKUNA BABE took a step forward on her handicap debut when a very good Sandown third and this daughter of Roaring Lion looks the way to go with more to offer now. Paradise Row is feared most on the back of her Chelmsford success with handicap debutante Hill Filly and in-form Measured Moments two more who can have a say.

1st (1) (5/1 -82%) Trabajo Detecho |
5/1(-82%) | (1) Trabajo Detecho 5/1, Latest win at Newcastle in March. Creditable second of 13 in handicap at Doncaster (6f, good to firm, 9/1) 20 days ago. High on the shortlist. Has twice gone very close at Doncaster this year and a first turf win may well be imminent. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (1.1/1 +63%) Happier |
1.1/1(+63%) | (2) Happier 1.1/1, Lightly-raced winner. Respectable second of 7 in handicap at Carlisle (5.8f, good to soft, 15/2) 7 days ago. Remains unexposed and likely to be in the mix once again. Lightly raced filly who was runner-up on recent handicap debut at Carlisle; plenty to like. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (16/1 +52%) Wurkin Ninetofive |
16/1(+52%) | (5) Wurkin Ninetofive 16/1, 22/1, sixth of 9 in handicap at this C&D (good) 16 days ago and, chances are, she will come up short once again. Reappeared with encouraging third but soundly beaten in first three handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (5.5/1 -38%) Bryce |
5.5/1(-38%) | (7) Bryce 5.5/1, Cheekpieces on for 1st time, good second of 8 in handicap at Ripon (6f, good to firm, 6/1) 10 days ago. Due to go up 2 lb for that near-miss and a bold show is on the cards. 0-11 but went very close in first-time cheekpieces (retained) at Ripon last Monday. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (4.5/1 -29%) Stormy Pearl |
4.5/1(-29%) | (6) Stormy Pearl 4.5/1, Career best when winning 10-runner handicap at this course (5f, good, 11/4) 16 days ago. 3 lb nudge fair enough and she has to enter calculations. Made it 2-2 here with narrow victory a fortnight ago and the runner-up has gone one better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (11/1 +39%) Malinheadsearovers |
11/1(+39%) | (3) Malinheadsearovers 11/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 10/1, respectable fifth of 11 in handicap at Newcastle (7.1f) 21 days ago, nearest finish. Couldn't be sure that this drop back in trip is what he wants. Only fifth on handicap debut (7f, AW) but the return to slow turf may be a plus. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (40/1 -300%) Stella Blue |
40/1(-300%) | (4) Stella Blue 40/1, 12/1, seventh of 8 in handicap at Redcar (5f, good to firm) 27 days ago. Back up in trip and cheekpieces on 1st time. Yard saddled the winner of this last year but others preferred all the same. Very up and down in short career but perhaps cheekpieces will provoke a positive reaction. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Happier has finished in the top two on her last three outings, the latest effort coming at Carlisle, where she was no match for the winner in second but showed plenty of promise on her first handicap start. However, preference is for TRABAJO DETECHO, who ran with huge credit at Doncaster to fill the runner-up spot in this grade and with a repeat of that display, he could be the one to beat. Last-time-out victor Stormy Pearl isn't out of it either.
BRYCE is still a maiden but he is taken to buck that trend here on the back of a near-miss in first-time cheekpieces (retained) at Ripon 10 days ago. Trabajo Detecho is pretty consistent on the whole and is likely to give another good account of himself, while Happier and recent course winner Stormy Pearl are others to consider.
The unexposed HAPPIER (nap) bumped into the highly progressive Sophia's Starlight when runner-up at Carlisle and can go one better.

2nd (2) (0.8/1 +47%) Queensland Boy |
0.8/1(+47%) | (2) Queensland Boy 0.8/1, Promising individual. 25/1, good close sixth of 13 in handicap at Leicester (10f, good) 21 days ago, finishing well. Big chance. Made a promising handicap debut at Leicester and looks likely to build on that effort. |

3rd (7) (80/1 -264%) Winnaretta |
80/1(-264%) | (7) Winnaretta 80/1, Cheekpieces on for 1st time, first run since leaving Andrew Balding when fourth of 7 in handicap at this course (8.1f, good to firm, 33/1) 24 days ago. Up in trip. Modest fourth in 1m contest here on debut for new yard; yet to progress. |

8.5/1(+23%) | (6) Commission 8.5/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Last of 8 in handicap (22/1) at Salisbury (8f, good to firm) 22 days ago. Up in trip. Hood on 1st time. Hopes of improvement rest on the first-time hood and 1m2f trip. |

5th (8) (4/1 +20%) Jimmy Mark |
4/1(+20%) | (8) Jimmy Mark 4/1, Winner at Bath in May. Respectable fifth of 10 in minor event (11/1) at Bath (10.2f, good to firm) 15 days ago. Not taken lightly. Opened his account at Bath in May but hasn't built on that win and looks modest. |

14/1(+0%) | (3) Dalatara 14/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Fifth of 7 in minor event at Chester (7.6f, good, 100/1) 19 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Makes handicap debut. Potential improver now handicapping and upped to 1m2f. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
QUEENSLAND BOY did well to finish as close as sixth last time at Leicester, where he took a keen hold before staying on strongly at the line. With improvement to come, he looks the one to side with. Eight Fifteen is a live danger as she has been sent off at big odds for all of her three starts to date and could do better on her handicap bow, while Surrey Charm is another to note.
QUEENSLAND BOY progressed again on handicap bow when a close sixth at Leicester 3 weeks ago, doing very well to get as close as he did from a poor position, and makes plenty of appeal off the same mark. Jimmy Mark can follow the selection home.
The top two on the card make the most appeal, with QUEENSLAND BOY first choice ahead of Purnika.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
With a name like SPECIAL WAN, it might be worth taking a chance on the Pat Foley-trained debutant. A half-sister to Yerwanthere, who managed to win here on debut last summer, the Belardo bay won't have to be a star to claim this weak affair. There was just half-a-length between Danvers Gold and Local Girl when they finished second and third at Roscommon earlier this month, and the 79-rated former should be able to confirm the form now. Finsceal Go Deo is without a win in eight starts and while she should give a good account of herself, she may have to settle for minor honours yet again. Apache Squaw is out of a sister to dual-Group 3 winner Sruthan and it'll be interesting to see how she fares on debut, while fellow debutant Spirit Of Paradise is another that warrants respect.
This can go to DANVERS GOLD, who boasts the best form and stepped up on her reappearance run when second at Roscommon earlier this month. Finsceal Go Deo and Local Girl look the obvious dangers.
A mark of 70 seems to leave her with plenty to find but FINSCEAL GO DEO has shown promise in 2 of her 3 starts this term and can score

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Pak Army has been in good form under both codes and is still well treated despite running off 8lb higher than his win at Bath in April, while Bay Of Naples and the lightly-weighted Foursome are others with chances in a competitive event. However, MOUNT OLYMPUS has made pleasing progress since he joined Alan King and reverting to turf could be most beneficial.
BEARWITH wasn't seen to best effect after a slow start when fourth at Beverley last time and is fancied to quickly resume winning ways eased 1 lb here. Pak Army is well worth considering back in this sphere after a winning spell over hurdles, with Owens Lad appealing as the pick of the rest for place purposes.

10/1(+44%) | (3) Hezmie 10/1, 66/1, last of 8 in handicap at Pontefract (12f, good to firm) 38 days ago, slowly away. Best to look elsewhere. Mark continues to fall but she's been beaten a long way on her three starts this year. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
SPANISH HUSTLE went in over C&D on his penultimate start and continued that form with a very good second by a neck at Musselburgh on his latest outing, so he could be hard to stop in arriving in a similar vein of form. The main danger might be Can Can Girl, who could improve on her first effort for the Tim Easterby yard when third at Beverley and now competes off 1lb lower, while The Navigator is of interest on his return to the Flat.
If back to his best BLAZER TWO could be the answer to this open-looking handicap. He is just 1 lb above the mark off which he was successful at Leicester at the end of May and the booking of Joe Fanning is a plus. Spanish Hustle could be the pick of the Jim Goldie-trained duo and is second choice ahead of Can Can Girl and stablemate Lochnaver.
The well-handicapped CAN CAN GIRL is taken to score on her second start for Tim Easterby, having reappeared with a promising third.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Dual bumper winner THE LAST MARDI looks the safest option despite letting his supporters down when sent off at prohibitive odds last time. The Gordon Elliott-trained six-year-old fell two out at Wexford when faced with a strong challenge. However, on the balance of his previous form, the Sholokhov gelding is the one to beat. Walmix, who won a bumper on that aforementioned card, goes straight over hurdles on just his third career start. Although the five-year-old lacks the experience of a few of these rivals, he looked a smart prospect last time. Patricks Hill may not have stayed 3m on his latest outing but had shaped with promise on a couple of occasions over this trip. Trainer Liam Burke likes to have a winner at this meeting, so his representative has to be given close consideration.
THE LAST MARDI had notably travelled best and was still going well when falling 2 out on his latest start at Wexford 4 weeks ago (looked likely winner) and Gordon Elliott's charge is fancied to make amends here. The returning Black Bamboo and recent bumper winner Walmix are others fancied to be thereabouts.
Though possibly vulnerable at the time of his fall two out at Wexford, THE LAST MARDI, hot favourite then, again has strong credentials

2nd (5) (2.75/1 +54%) Trapista |
2.75/1(+54%) | (5) Trapista 2.75/1, Proved consistent rather than progressive over fences last season. Not seen to best effect in a steadily-run handicap hurdle at Aintree (20f, good) 62 days ago and would hold frame claims back chasing. Capable chaser but prone to getting outpaced in rear; chance if this is run to suit. |

3rd (6) (40/1 -21%) Vinnie The Hoddie |
40/1(-21%) | (6) Vinnie The Hoddie 40/1, Error-prone sort won at Newton Abbot (2m) last March but struggled to make much of an impression in 3 subsequent starts last year and others make more appeal after 9 months off. 2lb lower than for his March 2022 Newton Abbot success; well below par the last twice. |

4th (1) (3.2/1 -42%) Captain Ivan |
3.2/1(-42%) | (1) Captain Ivan 3.2/1, Has won 3 of his last 4 starts, following up his Southwell success with another victory at Perth (16f, good) 26 days ago. Suited by the way race panned out there but 2 lb rise doesn't handicap him out of things. Raised only 2lb for latest Perth success, the form of which has been franked; big player. |

5th (8) (9/1 -38%) Lucky Lover Boy |
9/1(-38%) | (8) Lucky Lover Boy 9/1, In fine form when in 2022, scoring 4 times and posting an excellent second in 2m Newcastle handicap. Shaped as if better for the run on return when fifth of 9 in handicap hurdle at this course (16f, good) 29 days ago and he's not ruled out making chase debut. May have needed return; not bred for chasing, but well enough treated if taking to it. |

6th (2) (14/1 +0%) Dr T J Eckleburg |
14/1(+0%) | (2) Dr T J Eckleburg 14/1, Fairly useful hurdler made the frame on his first 3 starts last season but has finished well beaten on his last 2 outings, including on debut for this yard at Cartmel earlier in the month. Needs to bounce back on chase debut. Well held on stable debut latest, albeit in class 2 hurdle; watching brief on chase debut. |

|U| (7) (2.25/1 +44%) Gold Link |
2.25/1(+44%) | (7) Gold Link 2.25/1, Missed the best part of 2 years before retuning at Uttoxeter in May but seemingly retains all ability, looking in control at the last before emptying quickly when fourth of 5 in handicap chase at Cartmel (17.3f, good) on debut over fences 54 days ago. Worth another chance. Going best on chasing debut until folding late; player if the latest wind surgery works. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
CAPTAIN IVAN is in the form of his life at present and a fourth win in five starts could be in the offing for the nine-year-old as he looks to follow up on a determined victory at Perth last month. Gold Link has had wind surgery since his last run, which was his first over fences, which may yield some improvement, while Lucky Lover Boy is another with the form to get involved.
GOLD LINK looked to have the race sewn up before weakening on chase debut at Cartmel but he perhaps made his effort earlier than ideal there and the bulk of the performance was positive, so he is taken to make his second start over fences a winning one. Captain Ivan had plenty go his way at Perth but is thriving and should give a bold bid for the hat-trick, whilst Irish raider Benefit Run is interesting after a recent good effort over hurdles.
Assuming the latest wind surgery works, GOLD LINK may be able to deny the thriving Captain Ivan the hat-trick.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Carp Kid had ORIENTAL ART (third) behind when scoring at Windsor earlier in the month and he has to be respected on that evidence, but the vote goes to the latter as he gets a 3lb pull at the weights. Also, the son of Archipenko took a nice step forward on softer ground to fill the runner-up spot at Yarmouth last time. Eton Blue has hit the crossbar on his last two starts and has to be respected.
ETON BLUE looks ready to strike having gone agonisingly close behind a subsequent winner at Brighton last time. Carp Kid and Oriental Art are others to consider.
Judged on his two efforts this season, ETON BLUE (nap) looks poised to regain the winning thread. Oriental Art is second choice.

With seven debutants in the line-up and not much form to go on, the market should be informative. A fine third on debut over the course and distance last month, SLI NA GHEALAI is one of the safer options. She stayed on nicely in the closing stages on that occasion and finished a place ahead of Mary The Priest, who had won on her previous start at Listowel. Courageous Strike also ran a fine race on debut, finishing second at Roscommon in May, with subsequent winner Lia Fail back in fifth. The chestnut colt is a half-brother to Rich, who managed to win on debut, finishing down the field on her most recent start in the Sandringham at Royal Ascot. With Ger Lyons saddling two of the 18 set to take part, it's interesting that Colin Keane is aboard the Noel Meade-trained Caught U Looking. Sixth behind the impressive Ylang Ylang on debut at the Curragh, she should be able to build on that performance. Stromberg, Mo Ghille Mar and Edvard Grieg are the most interesting of the newcomers.
Jessica Harrington has saddled the winner of this maiden twice in recent years and MO GHILLE MAR is an appealing newcomer for the yard. She holds an entry in the Moyglare Stakes and the hint should be taken if the market speaks in her favour. Fellow newcomer Stromberg, who also represents a yard with a good recent record in this race and holds a Group-race entry, is also of strong interest. Sli Na Ghealai and Courageous Strike look the pick of those with experience.
Some of the newcomers have Group-race entries, but SLI NA GHEALAI holds a Group 1 entry herself and can build upon her promising C&D bow

25/1(+0%) | (13) Guidance 25/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 33/1, creditable third of 8 in handicap at Redcar (7f, good to firm) 27 days ago. Needs to build on it now. Kept on for third on 7f Redcar handicap debut and the fourth won next time; not discounted. |

13th (5) (12/1 -9%) Barleybrown |
12/1(-9%) | (5) Barleybrown 12/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Creditable third of 8 in handicap (9/1) at Chepstow (6.1f, good to soft) 10 days ago. Possibilities. Stuck on after getting outpaced when third over 6f latest so this return to 7f could help. |

14th (15) (66/1 -32%) Back In Tennessee |
66/1(-32%) | (15) Back In Tennessee 66/1, First run since leaving Paul George when last of 10 in handicap (10/1) at Southwell (8.1f). Off 97 days. First run for yard after leaving Victor Dartnall. Hood on 1st time, cheekpieces on 1st time. Poor maiden who has changed trainer yet again; first-time headgear combination fitted. |

80/1(-21%) | (14) Wood Farm Wag 80/1, Sixth of 7 in handicap at Chepstow (8.1f, good to firm, 33/1) 24 days ago. Others appeal more. Beaten over 18l in all three handicaps; impossible to recommend. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
HARRY THE HAGGLER has fewer questions to answer than some of his rivals and, with Oisin Murphy booked for the ride, a big run can be expected. The gelding was a well-supported favourite when he was third over 1m here last month and, given the market confidence that day, he is likely to be popular again dropping back to this trip. Irish Dessert, Senor Pockets and Scramble are others to consider.
A case can be made for lots of these but TWILIGHT JAZZ arrives in very good nick and is taken to go one better than her recent Beverley second. Milvus should also have a say, especially if settling better, while Harry The Haggler is weighted to go well too and must enter calculations.
In a trappy finale a chance is taken on IRISH DESSERT who made some good late headway when fourth over 6f last time so 7f could suit.

1st (6) (11/1 +78%) Presenting Doyen |
11/1(+78%) | (6) Presenting Doyen 11/1, Fair hurdler who got off the mark at Kilbeggan (19.2f) in April. Eleventh of 14 in handicap hurdle at Downpatrick (18.8f, good, 9/2) 32 days ago, weakening after 2 out. Needs to bounce back but it does remain early days with her. Handicap winner in April, would receive 23lb from stablemate Effernock Fizz in a handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (2.25/1 -38%) Effernock Fizz |
2.25/1(-38%) | (5) Effernock Fizz 2.25/1, Course winner who landed the Welsh Champion Hurdle last autumn and developed into a useful chaser subsequently. Comes here on the back of a disappointing run in Grade 3 hurdle 2 weeks ago but no surprise to see a better showing, not least on these favourable terms. Versatile nine-time winner, well below her best lately but suited by the race conditions. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (1.38/1 +45%) Troubled Times |
1.38/1(+45%) | (4) Troubled Times 1.38/1, Dual bumper winner who took her form up a notch when doubling hurdles tally at Cork (19f) in May. Shaped better than bare result on handicap debut at Ballinrobe later that month and she remains one to be positive about back from a short break. Listed bumper winner, two wins over hurdles, badly treated relative to Effernock Fizz. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (9/1 -125%) Hollymount |
9/1(-125%) | (1) Hollymount 9/1, Fairly useful hurdler. Latest win in hurdle at Ayr in May 2022. Well-beaten sixth of 7 to She Is Electric in listed mares' event (12/1) at Gowran (16f, soft) in September. No surprise to see a better showing back from 9 months off. Back up in trip. Showed a good standard of form last year, lacks race-fitness unlike stablemate Shesadream. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (7/1 +72%) Shannon Glory |
7/1(+72%) | (2) Shannon Glory 7/1, Fairly useful hurdler. Two wins from 6 runs last season. Eighth of 11 in novice chase (14/1) at Limerick (22.7f, good to soft) 56 days ago. Switches from chase to hurdles. Difficult ask. Showed good form over hurdles on summer ground last year, last two races over fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (9/1 -157%) Shesadream |
9/1(-157%) | (3) Shesadream 9/1, Successful on each of her first 2 starts over hurdles early on last year. Lost her way thereafter but produced a career-best effort to resume winning ways on return at Down Royal (16.8f) in June. Thereabouts with a repeat. Returned from a break to win at Down Royal, possibly best over shorter trips. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Welsh Champion Hurdle winner EFFERNOCK FIZZ can take this for Kerry born trainer Cian Collins. The eight-year-old has been a real stable stalwart for the Tralee man, winning three races, including at this track last August. Having been set a stiff task when down the field in the Grimes Hurdle recently, the mare is much better suited by these race conditions. The small field should also play to her strengths as it will suit a front runner. Troubled Times, a mare that won on her racecourse debut here last May, had looked a progressive hurdler prior to disappointing at Ballinrobe last time. She was subsequently found to have a genuine excuse for that below par run. Hollymount finished runner-up in this race last year so has most likely had a repeat bid as a long-term target.
EFFERNOCK FIZZ needs to shrug off a lesser effort in Grade 3 company but these are very favourable terms and she's given the vote in the hope she can bounce back. Troubled Times, who shaped better than the bare result at Ballinrobe in May remains one to be positive about and is feared, along with the returning Hollymount.
There is a question mark against the generally admirable EFFERNOCK FIZZ on recent form but she will be hard to beat if near her best

1st (1) (0.91/1 +48%) Dicey Rielly |
0.91/1(+48%) | (1) Dicey Rielly 0.91/1, Thriving in 2023, returning with a victory in a Ffos Las handicap chase before winning over hurdles here (23f) and at Market Rasen (23.1f, good) last time. No reason why her prorgress shouldn't continue back chasing. Has won two of three recent hurdle starts; strong claims if transferring form to fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (4.5/1 +44%) Annie Nail |
4.5/1(+44%) | (6) Annie Nail 4.5/1, Probably made her effort sooner than ideal when runner-up at Uttoxeter (20f, good) last month before again running respectably at Southwell (20.4f, good to firm) a few weeks later. Frame claims again. Claims on her best form but doesn't seem to be progressing; well held latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (40/1 -21%) Joyful Kit |
40/1(-21%) | (7) Joyful Kit 40/1, Out-of-form maiden hurdler and one whose jumping has been a cause for concern, so makes very little appeal switched to fences. 0-22 and reservations on chasing debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (11/1 -57%) Cotton End |
11/1(-57%) | (4) Cotton End 11/1, Not beaten far when third of 4 at Uttoxeter on her penultimate outing but failed to build on that when only fourth over C&D 22 days ago. Winless run goes back to 2021 and others are more persuasive. 0-7 as a chaser and well held over C&D latest; others appeal more. |

5th (3) (8/1 -60%) Somewhat Cloudy |
8/1(-60%) | (3) Somewhat Cloudy 8/1, In good form over hurdles prior to making a winning chase bow at Market Rasen (17f, soft) in March. Underperformed after another breathing operation at Uttoxeter (16f, soft) 28 days ago. Place claims but others looked better treated. Hasn't progressed since chasing debut win in March; up in trip and needs improvement. |

|F| (5) (22/1 -175%) Callin Baton Rouge |
22/1(-175%) | (5) Callin Baton Rouge 22/1, £30,000 buy after finishing second in her sole Irish point. Some encouragement when third on hurdling debut at Cartmel but proved too keen when only fourth at Stratford last time. Interesting making quick switch to chasing. Chasing/handicap debut after just four runs; unexposed and needs market check. |

|PU| (2) (4.5/1 -13%) Princess Midnight |
4.5/1(-13%) | (2) Princess Midnight 4.5/1, Sound-jumping front runner won 3 times last year, including twice over C&D, and has found only one too good on both outings this term, again performing creditably when second of 5 in handicap chase at Newton Abbot (16.3f, good to firm) 36 days ago. Leading player. Won this last year; two good efforts this summer; should again run well. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
DICEY RIELLY has been in terrific form of late over hurdles and she can take the switch back to fences in her stride off a 5lb lower mark. The form of her stable is another plus and she should have too much for Princess Midnight, who has the potential to improve for going back up in trip, and the capable Somewhat Cloudy.
DICEY RIELLY has won 3 times since the start of April and Peter Bowen's mare is fancied to continue her rich vein of form making the switch back to chasing after scoring twice over hurdles last month. Princess Midnight is an admirably consistent sort for this level and should be in the mix once again, with Annie Nail preferred of the remainder.
The consistent PRINCESS MIDNIGHT should give supporters a good run for their money.

16/1(+36%) | (9) Speckled Meadow 16/1, First run since leaving Terence O'Brien when eleventh of 13 in handicap (25/1) at Tipperary (7.4f, good) 15 days ago. Can give a good account without posing serious threat to principals. Engaged 7.20 Killarney Wednesday. Softer the better for mare who hit form in the mud last autumn; better for recent comeback. |

3rd (4) (4/1 +56%) Toriangel |
4/1(+56%) | (4) Toriangel 4/1, 10/1, bit below form ninth of 17 in handicap at the Curragh (7f, good to soft) 55 days ago, never nearer. Booking of Stone-Walsh a plus. Others more persuasive. AW maiden winner over 1m last year; mostly struggling in h'caps but C&D fourth in April. |

7th (1) (11/1 -83%) Invincible Larne |
11/1(-83%) | (1) Invincible Larne 11/1, Back from 15 months off when creditable second of 10 in handicap (33/1) at this course (7.2f, good) on yard debut 35 days ago. Will be dangerous if backing that up here. Five wins in Britain; good start for yard when second to subsequent winner over C&D. |

8th (7) (5/1 +44%) Punk Poet |
5/1(+44%) | (7) Punk Poet 5/1, Twelve runs since last win in 2022. 12/1, respectable fourth of 14 in handicap at Bellewstown (7.8f, good to soft) 13 days ago. Claims on best form. Won off 82 at Cork last year and hinted at a revival in form when beaten 4l at Bellewstown. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (5/1 -25%) Super Cub |
5/1(-25%) | (10) Super Cub 5/1, Run creditably in recent starts, latest when fourth of 12 in handicap at Listowel (7.1f, good to soft, 5/2) 47 days ago. Stable in good form. Holds solid claims. Has failed to add to 2yo maiden win but loads of placed form; neck second at Gowran in May. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) (22/1 +12%) Little Jo |
22/1(+12%) | (6) Little Jo 22/1, Latest win at Nottingham in May. First run since leaving Gemma Tutty when twelfth of 14 in handicap (14/1) at Bellewstown (7.8f, good to soft) 13 days ago. Work to do. Nine wins in Britain, two of them over 1m in May; well held on Irish debut at Bellewstown. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Very few can be safely ruled out in this competitive affair. Fitted with a first-time tongue-strap, WHO NOT WHAT went down by just a neck here early last month. Headed in the closing stages on that occasion, he should be suited by this slight drop in trip to seven-furlongs. The aforementioned tongue-strap remains in place, with cheekpieces added now. A five-time winner in the UK, Invincible Larne ran a cracker on his debut for John McConnell over the course and distance, finishing second after attempting to make all. Cillian McConnell retains the ride and again claims a valuable 7lb. Eastern Wind also attempted to do it from the front here last week, ultimately going down narrowly by a short head and a head. Already a course winner, it'll come as no surprise if she manages to take this. Successful in a claimer at Bellewstown recently, Sunday Sovereign is sure to have plenty of supporters, while other leading hopes are Super Cub and Dabana.
WHO NOT WHAT upped his game when second here last month and remains low mileage. He can open his account. Super Cub and Invincible Larne are feared most.
Plenty of these went forward last time; one who will be played later is PUNK POET who looked on the way back to form at Bellewstown

1st (2) (4/1 +27%) New Heights |
4/1(+27%) | (2) New Heights 4/1, After a low-key start to the season, got back on track when runner-up at Salisbury (1m) in June. Not in the same form when fourth of 7 at Leicester next time, but she's on a workable mark with cheekpieces now on first time. Won this race last year off 3lb lower on her only visit to Epsom; close 2nd two runs back. |

2nd (6) (3.5/1 +22%) Goldsmith |
3.5/1(+22%) | (6) Goldsmith 3.5/1, Dual all-weather winner during the winter and good third back from a break at Lingfield in March. Not seen to best effect next 2 starts and, after 10 weeks off, shaped well on turf when third at Sandown (1m) 13 days ago. Major player. Had a ten-week absence before latest start, so perhaps he can build on that display. |

3rd (5) (4.5/1 +25%) Oh Herberts Reign |
4.5/1(+25%) | (5) Oh Herberts Reign 4.5/1, Having fallen a long way in the weights, took a step back in the right direction when fifth of 9 at Goodwood (9f) last time, despite needing a stronger gallop. Task is now to build on his latest effort. Rather subdued this season; one of his best runs last year came on his only start here. |

4th (3) (5/1 +17%) Kimifive |
5/1(+17%) | (3) Kimifive 5/1, Gained his first win in over 3 years at this course (7f) last summer and ran well at Carlisle next time. Failed to come on for his recent run when mid-field here 15 days ago, but he's not one to write off back down in grade. Sole win in last four years was 7f (unraced beyond that) here last August off 5lb lower. |

5th (4) (7/1 -133%) Darvel |
7/1(-133%) | (4) Darvel 7/1, Back down in trip, took advantage of a drop in grade when winning at Brighton (1m) 16 days ago, scoring with plenty in hand. Remains well treated on old form so he's not taken lightly. Clearcut win at Brighton on latest start; not ruled out by going back up 4lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (12/1 +14%) Roundabout Silver |
12/1(+14%) | (8) Roundabout Silver 12/1, Dropped below his last winning mark and turned in his best effort of the season when third of 7 to Darvel at Brighton (1m) 16 days ago. Faces a tougher task now back up in grade. Never-nearer third of seven to Darvel on latest start was clearly his best show this term. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (7/1 +0%) Silver Screen |
7/1(+0%) | (1) Silver Screen 7/1, Having found it tough in listed company on her penultimate outing, soon returned to form when fourth of 7 in handicap at Yarmouth (1m) a fortnight ago, doing her best work finish despite having raced freely. Can give her running again. Twice a runner-up over about 1m on turf and also ran creditably on latest start. |

8th (10) (125/1 -56%) Rainbow Sign |
125/1(-56%) | (10) Rainbow Sign 125/1, Won twice at Lingfield (both 7f, AW) in 2022 and best effort this year when third at the same C&D in April. However, well below form at Brighton last 2 starts, so it's easy enough to look elsewhere. No show when 50-1 at Brighton latest, after two months off; 6lb out of the handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (80/1 -60%) Plymouth Rock |
80/1(-60%) | (9) Plymouth Rock 80/1, Fifteen runs since last win in 2020 and, after 12 weeks off, finished well held in minor event at Kempton (1m) when last seen in January. Cheekpieces back on as he returns from 6 months off. Last won in 2020 and not much of substance to latch on to since; off since January. |

10th (7) (14/1 -40%) Rivas Rob Roy |
14/1(-40%) | (7) Rivas Rob Roy 14/1, Completed a quick-fire hat-trick at Brighton (all at 1m) when landing 6-runner handicap 23 days ago, forging ahead to score with something to spare. Up in grade but he's respected in his current form. Seen mostly at Brighton, where he's won over 1m on his last three starts; on a roll. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Darvel was able to exploit his sliding handicap mark when winning at Brighton 16 days ago and he merits respect from 4lb higher. Rivas Rob Roy is another that warrants serious consideration, having brought up his hat-trick last time out, but preference is for NEW HEIGHTS. Jonathan Portman's mare was successful in this contest 12 months ago from a 3lb lower mark, but she remains fairly treated and the application of first-time cheekpieces could bring about a change in fortunes.
Back on turf, GOLDSMITH shaped well having been left with plenty to do at Sandown 13 days ago and he's on a workable mark based on his all-weather form. The 4-y-o can build on his latest effort to record a first success on this surface, though Darvel arrives on the back of a win last time and is feared most. Kimifive completes the shortlist.
Recent Brighton winners Darvel and Rivas Rob Roy are repsected. NEW HEIGHTS, who won this race last year, gets the vote.

28/1(+0%) | (13) Nazine 28/1, Fifteen runs since last win in 2021. 14/1, offered little on back of 12 months off when fourteenth of 16 in handicap hurdle at Tipperary (16f, good) 14 days ago. Up in trip. Blinkers back on. A long time since his sole win, was entitled to need the run at Tipperary after a year off. |

12th (9) (40/1 -21%) Centurion Steel |
40/1(-21%) | (9) Centurion Steel 40/1, Pulled up in handicap chase at Limerick (25.5f, good to soft, 14/1) 56 days ago, tailed off when pulled up early in straight. Switches from chase to hurdles. Down in trip. May need a boost to his confidence after two failures to complete the course over fences. |

13th (1) (9/1 -13%) Harvey's Quay |
9/1(-13%) | (1) Harvey's Quay 9/1, 20/1, good fourth of 14 in novice chase at Kilbeggan (19.4f, good to soft) 46 days ago. Not out of things back over hurdles from reduced mark. Has been running over fences since a couple of good runs over hurdles last November. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
PENNY JAR should be spot on for this assignment following a recent spin on the flat at Tramore. The three-time winner over hurdles made significant late ground inside the last furlong, having been denied a clear run earlier in the straight. Paddy Downey's seven-year-old gelding was only just touched off on his most recent start over flights and can race off a pound lower mark here once taking the jockey's claim into account. Arabian King, who won his maiden hurdle over course and distance, made a pleasing stable debut for Cian Collins at Tipperary recently. The seven-year-old gelding should strip fitter here and will most likely have been targeted at the meeting. Away To Milan completes the shortlist following his Wexford victory at the end of May.
The most intriguing option could be PENNY JAR. An improved model when winning 3 of his 4 starts over hurdles last season, there's every chance he will be all the better for a recent return spin on the Flat at Tramore and he can confirm himself still on a good mark back over timber. Away To Milan, a good winner at Wexford in May, and Rock on Pedro head up the dangers, with Navigator Jack also worth a second look.
With the benefit of a recent run on the Flat PENNY JAR (nap) looks to maintain the trend of sustained progress shown last season

1st (9) (7/1 +0%) Allihies |
7/1(+0%) | (9) Allihies 7/1, Flat winner in Ireland and opened hurdles account in 3-runner handicap at Warwick (2m, good) on penultimate start. Since chased home a progressive type in 2m novice here and each-way chance if his stamina passes the test over this new trip. Mark compares unfavourably to RPR for Warwick handicap win, but capable of doing better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (7.5/1 -67%) Pencreek |
7.5/1(-67%) | (1) Pencreek 7.5/1, Winner in this sphere in 2021 and won 3 on the bounce over fences last summer. Has undergone a wind op since latest start in October and merits respect back hurdling for in-form yard off a potentially handy mark. Goes well fresh and for Luca Morgan also; lower mark over hurdles; has had wind operation. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (2.75/1 +21%) Galata Bridge |
2.75/1(+21%) | (3) Galata Bridge 2.75/1, Shaped well back from a break at Ludlow in May and duly resumed winning ways at Uttoxeter later that month. Solid second to an in-form rival (pair clear of the rest) off this mark over C&D last time and another bold show anticipated. Respectable second in C&D class 2 latest and the return to a class 4 is a positive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (5.5/1 -38%) Rock The House |
5.5/1(-38%) | (7) Rock The House 5.5/1, Right back to his best in recent months, completing the hat-trick over C&D 22 days ago. That form is decent (both the second and third went into that race on the back of victories) but this 7 lb higher mark demands a big personal best. Recent hat-trick (2m4f, good) includes a C&D win; career-high mark to contend with now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (1.62/1 +46%) Charlie My Boy |
1.62/1(+46%) | (8) Charlie My Boy 1.62/1, Big improver over hurdles for this yard, off the mark in 18.5f Newton Abbot novice handicap at the end of May and saw off a fellow improver upped to this trip at Aintree (good to firm) next time. 6 lb rise fair and he probably has more to offer. Can hang under late pressure but is still improving; up 6lb but respected on hat-trick bid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (12/1 -50%) Lock's Corner |
12/1(-50%) | (2) Lock's Corner 12/1, Ran out a decisive winner at Catterick and Ayr (both at around 2½m) during the winter. Form subsequently dipped but has edged back down the weights and decent third when returning from a 2-month break at Market Rasen in June. Quietish 2023 until better at Market Rasen last time; would appeal more in cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (33/1 +0%) Esperti |
33/1(+0%) | (4) Esperti 33/1, Fairly useful winning hurdler in Ireland for Peter Fahey but he failed to fire starting out for this yard at Aintree last month. Hopes pinned on combination of subsequent wind op and first-time hood helping to spark a return to form here. 70l last of six on recent seasonal/stable debut; wind surgery since; hood also added. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (125/1 -150%) Edison Kent |
125/1(-150%) | (6) Edison Kent 125/1, Winner of a big-field Killarney maiden hurdle for previous connections back in May 2021. Largely struggled since, though (in this sphere and over fences), and it's hard to draw any positives from his debut effort for this yard here last month. Offered little on last month's seasonal/stable debut here, and this looks no easier. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
A winner of his last three starts, including over C&D last time out, ROCK THE HOUSE has been quite the revelation since joining the Katy Price stable and he should be able to continue his rapid progression. The hat-trick-seeking Charlie My Boy can follow him home along with Galata Bridge, who ran well over C&D last month. Allihies and Pencreek are entitled to be thereabouts as well.
A competitive handicap for the grade and the upwardly-mobile CHARLIE MY BOY, who got the better of a duel with a fellow improver at Aintree last month, is taken to complete the hat-trick. Pencreek resumes in this sphere on an attractive mark and is feared most with his yard among the winners. Cases can also be made for Galata Bridge, Lock's Corner and the 4-y-o Allihies, but Rock The House is likely to come unstuck in his bid for the four-timer off this revised mark.
The hat-trick seeking CHARLIE MY BOY can defy both a new high mark and his tendency to hang late. Galata Bridge appeals next most.

Dam French winner up to 6.5f (6f winner at 2 yrs). Ryan Moore prefers Opera Singer. Sister to four winners, notably Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Peaceful; overlooked by Moore. |

7/1(+50%) | (2) Enthralling 7/1, Once-raced filly. Tenth of 12 in maiden (25/1) at the Curragh (7f, good) on debut 20 days ago, merely passing beaten rivals. SP 25s, was green when beaten 12l by exciting prospect at the Curragh on Derby weekend. |

22/1(-57%) | (6) Still Rolling 22/1, Foaled April 14. Awtaad filly. Dam, 9f/1¼m winner who stayed 13f, half-sister to smart/temperamental 1m winner Glor Na Mara. Trainer going well. Awtaad filly out of 1m1f/1m2f winner who's related to smart Glor Na Mara and Wexford Opera. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
The regally bred Ballydoyle pair look the two to focus on here, with preference for OPERA SINGER, who is the choice of Ryan Moore. The Justify bay is a half-sister to Group 1 winners Brave Anna and Hit It A Bomb, and while she didn't show a whole lot on debut, after being bumped early, she can be expected to come on plenty for that experience. Newcomer Andromeda is the other Aidan O'Brien representative, with this one a sister to 2020 Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Peaceful. Joseph O'Brien introduces Kalispera and like the aforementioned pair, she holds some big race entries. Enthralling was behind the selection on debut and is best watched here, while Improvista will need to improve from finishing fifth in a barrier trial if she is to feature.
Frankel filly IMPROVISTA ticks plenty of the right boxes on paper and Group-race entries suggest that she is held in high regard. Confidence behind her in the betting would look significant and she gets the nod ahead of Opera Singer, who should be more street-wise following her debut spin at the Curragh and is Ryan Moore's pick ahead of stablemate Andromeda. Kalispera is another to note.
Likely a hot contest but OPERA SINGER was getting the hang of things late on at the Curragh and will be more streetwise now under Moore

1st (1) (5.5/1 +50%) Aragon Castle |
5.5/1(+50%) | (1) Aragon Castle 5.5/1, Sales price increased to 120,000 gns as a yearling but made a low-key start when seventh of 9 in maiden at Salisbury (7f, good to firm) 22 days ago. Needs to step forward from that first experience with tongue strap now applied. Promise on debut; can do better & stable have fine record with 2yos here; tongue-tie added. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (3/1 -20%) Mission To Moon |
3/1(-20%) | (6) Mission To Moon 3/1, Half-brother to several winners but held back by inexperience on debut. Improved from that run when second at Kempton (7f) a fortnight ago, despite still looking far from the finished article, so he's respected with further progress to come. Good 2nd at Kempton two weeks ago despite running green; solid form candidate. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (14/1 +72%) Drink Dry |
14/1(+72%) | (2) Drink Dry 14/1, Raced too freely on his first outing when fourth of 7 in maiden at Lingfield (7f, good to firm) last month, not knocked about. Others preferred. Modest form when 4th on last month's Lingfield debut; can do better but needs to. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (33/1 -50%) Rosenzoo |
33/1(-50%) | (8) Rosenzoo 33/1, Quite stoutly bred and made little impact on debut when fifth of 6 in maiden at Ayr (6f, firm) last month. Much more required but the extra furlong should help. Didn't live up to market billing on last month's Ayr debut; capable of better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (0.8/1 +27%) Inner City |
0.8/1(+27%) | (4) Inner City 0.8/1, Bred to be smart and shaped promisingly when fourth in minor event at Yarmouth (7f, good to firm) on debut in June. Still green when unable to build on that effort at Sandown 15 days later, but he remains with potential and can get off the mark this time around. Beaten favourite in both starts but he's run to a useful level; leading form claims. |

6th (3) (11/1 -22%) Hawa Jumeirah |
11/1(-22%) | (3) Hawa Jumeirah 11/1, Foaled March 15. Universal colt. Dam 2-y-o 5f/5.4f winner. Has a fair standard to aim at on debut for yard looking for their first 2-y-o winner of the season. Dam a useful 5f winner; sire a stamina influence; best watched unless strong in betting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (200/1 -100%) Mighty Pearl |
200/1(-100%) | (5) Mighty Pearl 200/1, Offered little in two starts last month, last of 11 in minor event at Lingfield (6f, AW) on the second occasion. Looks to be up against it once more. He would be a surprise winner having been well beaten in two runs over shorter. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (18/1 -177%) Rey De La Batalla |
18/1(-177%) | (7) Rey De La Batalla 18/1, Sent off at 100/1 but showed promise first time up when third in minor event at Lingfield (6f, AW) in June, taking third well inside the final 1f. Open to improvement with the step up in trip to suit. Promising 3rd over 6f on last month's AW debut; 7f should suit; one to take seriously. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
INNER CITY failed to build on a promising debut effort when finishing third at Sandown last month, but the son of Dubawi, a 1,100,000gns purchase, remains open to improvement and is fancied to put his superior experience to good use. Mission To Moon makes plenty of appeal following his recent Kempton second, while others to note include Drink Dry and Aragon Castle.
Having shown plenty of ability on debut, INNER CITY was still green when only third at Sandown next time but the son of Dubawi remains capable of better and can open his account at the third attempt. Mission To Moon improved from his first start when runner-up at Kempton 2 weeks ago and is feared most, ahead of Rey de La Batalla.
Mission To Moon is still capable of better but INNER CITY may be able to strike at the third attempt.

Off 9 months but this veteran has been given a big chance by the assessor. Seeking to win this race for the third successive year; likely softer ground may not suit. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Although now at the veteran stage, NATURALLY BLOND could be hard to beat in his bid to win at this meeting for the third successive year. The Patrick Cronin-trained 13-year-old easily won on his seasonal debut here two years ago, before producing an even more impressive display 12 months later. Age is certainly not on his side but the Bach gelding has been relatively lightly raced in recent campaigns. Ceanndana won with plenty in hand at Downpatrick last week and while this is a completely different track, the Ross O'Sullivan-trained gelding did finish third here on his only previous visit. Dragon's Pass has been running well in similar races of late and was unlucky not to get closer at Limerick last time. The seven-year-old mare has her ideal conditions so should be capable of a big run.
CEANNDANA was value for extra over the winning distance when a smooth winner at Downpatrick last week and a penalty seems most unlikely to prevent a very bold follow-up bid. Dragon's Pass and Hard Target are reliable operators at this level and are a couple of potential dangers.
If handling the likely softer ground recent Downpatrick winner CEANNDANA can go in again

100/1(-25%) | (7) Emanate 100/1, Poor maiden on the Flat and has failed to make much of an impact in 4 starts since switched to this sphere. Maiden; pulled up on handicap debut latest and doubts for now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (6.5/1 -18%) Rock On Harry |
6.5/1(-18%) | (1) Rock On Harry 6.5/1, Bumper winner who appears to be gradually progressing over hurdles, chasing home a big improver at Stratford (16.3f, good to soft) last time. Mark for this handicap debut looks fair and he's an each-way player. Has shown enough to suggest he can win over hurdles but no easy task on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (40/1 -21%) Let It Shine |
40/1(-21%) | (5) Let It Shine 40/1, Poor in bumpers and hasn't showed a great deal in this sphere either, failing to improve on his handicap debut/first run following a wind op at Southwell last month. Unplaced all six starts and no improvement on handicap debut latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (0.4/1 +20%) Gambie Tiep |
0.4/1(+20%) | (8) Gambie Tiep 0.4/1, Only poor hurdler/chaser for Sarah-Jayne Davies but has looked an entirely different proposition for this yard, scoring over fences at Uttoxeter and in this sphere at Perth during the last 9 days. Unpenalised for latest success (officially 8 lb well-in) and will prove hard to beat. Two easy wins since joining current yard and long way ahead of the handicapper. |

5th (9) (16/1 +20%) Urabamba |
16/1(+20%) | (9) Urabamba 16/1, Just one win from 23 starts and there wasn't enough in his latest effort at Newton Abbot to suggest his turn is near again. Engaged 2.40 Uttoxeter Wednesday. Has been running reasonably but more needed to gain a first British success. |

6th (6) (18/1 +45%) Ten Ten Twenty |
18/1(+45%) | (6) Ten Ten Twenty 18/1, Wide-margin winner of a C&D maiden last August but has proved disappointing in handicaps since. Hopes pinned on the addition of cheekpieces (runner-up sole start on the Flat in this headgear) sparking a return to form. Little in handicaps since C&D maiden win last August; cheekpieces could alter things. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (7/1 +0%) Turpin Gold |
7/1(+0%) | (3) Turpin Gold 7/1, Off the mark in a Stratford novice last September and posted his best effort since switched to handicaps when runner-up off 2 lb lower at Uttoxeter (15.8f, good) recently. Should make his presence felt. Improving and repeat of latest Uttoxeter second puts him in the reckoning. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (80/1 -220%) Beautiful Surprise |
80/1(-220%) | (10) Beautiful Surprise 80/1, Fair handicapper on the Flat and bettered previous hurdles efforts when fifth in a 10-runner C&D handicap last time. However, she's 9 lb 'wrong' at the weights this time. Too keen but better when fifth on C&D handicap debut; 9lb out of the weights. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
GAMBIE TIEP arrives having notched up a quick-fire double, with the latest of those successes coming at Perth four days ago. Turned out quickly before a subsequent 8lb rise kicks in, Ben Pauling's charge is difficult to oppose. Turpin Gold looks set to play a leading role having struck the woodwork at Uttoxeter last time, while others to note include Rock On Harry and the class-dropping Glimpse Of Gold.
While it's likely that GAMBIE TIEP's best days ahead will be over fences, he is nevertheless hard to oppose here on the back of his recent dominant, all-the-way success in this sphere at Perth. The 7-y-o will be competing off an 8 lb higher mark in the future, so it's no surprise that connections are looking to strike while the iron is hot. Turpin Gold and Rock On Harry can fill the places.
A third start in nine days for GAMBIE TIEP, who should complete the hat-trick if coping with the quick turnaround.

1st (2) (14/1 +0%) Celtic Crown |
14/1(+0%) | (2) Celtic Crown 14/1, 25/1, thirteenth of 18 in handicap at the Curragh (8f, good to firm) 18 days ago, not clear run. Ran well on previous outing, so can't be ruled out. Best recent run when close third in Ulster Oaks over 1m2f at Down Royal in June. |

2nd (3) (3.33/1 +45%) Cordouan |
3.33/1(+45%) | (3) Cordouan 3.33/1, 20/1, creditable fourth of 14 in handicap at this C&D (good) 7 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Likely to be on the premises. Best of three starts this term when fourth of 14 in Nasrullah Handicap over C&D a week ago. |

3rd (5) (6.5/1 -8%) No Niki No |
6.5/1(-8%) | (5) No Niki No 6.5/1, Winner here in June. 14/1, fifth of 11 in handicap at the Curragh (7f, good to firm) 18 days ago. Step back up in trip will help and she's worthy of respect. Off mark in Ireland when getting canny front-running ride from McDonogh to win over C&D. |

4th (8) (2/1 +67%) Tea Olive |
2/1(+67%) | (8) Tea Olive 2/1, Winner at Gowran in April. Respectable fifth of 11 in handicap at the Curragh (9f, good, 5/1) 20 days ago, not clear run. Not discounted. Running well this term; not clearest of runs when fifth over this trip at the Curragh. |

2.25/1(+44%) | (7) Vocal Studies 2.25/1, 8/1, again not disgraced when fourth of 18 in handicap at the Curragh (7f, good) 20 days ago. Back up in trip. Becoming well treated. Shaping like he wants farther in last couple of starts over 7f but maybe not this far. |

6th (6) (11/1 -214%) Chavajod |
11/1(-214%) | (6) Chavajod 11/1, Course winner. Latest win here in May. Good second of 14 in handicap (28/1) at Roscommon (10f, good to soft) 16 days ago. Solid claims once more. Won over 1m here on seasonal/stable debut; second at Roscommon (1m2f); up another 3lb. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
A case can be made for all eight runners. CORDOUAN was successful on his debut for Adrian McGuinness at Laytown in September and while he hasn't managed to win since, he has been pretty consistent. A close-up fourth in the valuable Nasrullah Handicap over the course and distance last Thursday, it'll come as no surprise if he manages to go a few places better now. While his form is quite erratic, Chavajod is given second preference. Successful here in May, he disappointed on his next start before filling the runner-up spot on his most recent outing at Roscommon. If putting his best foot forward, he is capable of making an impact. Noel Meade has his horses in flying form at present and so Tea Olive warrants respect, while course and distance winner No Niki No and Ladies Derby runner-up Higher Kingdom are other leading hopes.
HIGHER KINGDOM returned to form when second in a competitive event at the Curragh last time and a performance of similar merit could be enough to go one better. Chavajod is a big danger and No Niki No is one of several others for whom a case can be made.
Topweight Longbourn and Cordouan have good claims but maybe CHAVAJOD, running sweetly for his new yard this term, can score

Ernie's Valentine |
(1) (4.5/1 +0%)4.5/1(+0%) | (1) Ernie's Valentine 4.5/1, Eleven runs since his last win in 2021 but has produced two of his better efforts on turf this season, placing at Goodwood and Leicester (both at 7f) in May/June. Not ideally placed at Newmarket (6f) 26 days ago, so no surprise to see him bounce back. Placed twice this summer over 7f; perhaps it was 6f which found him out on latest outing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (4) (4/1 +53%) G'Daay |
4/1(+53%) | (4) G'Daay 4/1, Four-time winner last year and, with a visor applied, has returned for form lately, only finding one too good over C&D last time. Should give another good account. C&D second 15 days ago was up with his best turf form, so he's back in calculations. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (2.75/1 +31%) Metahorse |
2.75/1(+31%) | (5) Metahorse 2.75/1, Novice winner at Chester for Michael Bell last year and produced most encouraging effort for his current yard when third in a handicap there last time. Could build on that. Close third over 7.6f at Chester three weeks ago in first-time cheekpieces for new stable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (14/1 -27%) Cobalt Blue |
14/1(-27%) | (9) Cobalt Blue 14/1, Runner-up twice at 2 yrs but yet to find his form this term and others make more appeal. Latest effort won't be winning this but at least it was a step back in right direction. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (7.5/1 -67%) Alazwar |
7.5/1(-67%) | (6) Alazwar 7.5/1, Blinkered for 1st time, very good fourth of 11 in handicap (14/1) at Musselburgh (8f, good to firm) 17 days ago, running on. Well treated and looked an unlucky loser last time, so worth chancing to make amends. Went very close at Musselburgh (1m) latest; no headgear now; something to prove back at 7f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (9/1 +36%) Seductive Power |
9/1(+36%) | (8) Seductive Power 9/1, Blinkered for first time and ran right up to form when third of 11 in handicap at Goodwood in May but failed to back it up there last time. Placed in three of her five races this season but the other two were heavy defeats. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (4/1 +47%) Little Boy Blue |
4/1(+47%) | (2) Little Boy Blue 4/1, Having dropped below his last winning mark, built on the promise of his previous run when gaining a battling success at Chepstow in June. Solid showing when third over C&D since and remains on a handy mark. Four-time Brighton winner who has been second or third in all three visits here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (11/1 -10%) Barging Thru |
11/1(-10%) | (3) Barging Thru 11/1, Latest win at Chelmsford in March. Back to form when third at Kempton last time and should be well positioned again. Can front-run; all three wins have been AW; well held on his only turf run this term. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (7/1 -17%) Secret Strength |
7/1(-17%) | (7) Secret Strength 7/1, In good form of late and gained some reward when scoring cosily at Newbury last time. Might have been at a slight advantage in where he raced that day, however, and looked a little awkward under pressure. Not the best of strike-rates but came from last to first at Newbury (7f) on latest outing. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
With plenty of these likely to vie for a prominent position, things could set up nicely for recent Newbury scorer SECRET STRENGTH. He kept on well from off the pace to lead close home that day, so a ferocious gallop at this trip might tap into his stamina reserves. Only 3lb higher for that victory, he can repel the challenge of Metahorse, who hit the frame over an extended seven furlongs at Chester last time out. G'daay (second) and Little Boy Blue (third) are closely matched on their recent C&D meeting and both are of interest once more.
Having dropped in the weights, ALAZWAR shaped best when fourth at Musselburgh last time and he's worth a chance to confirm that encouragement. In-form G'Daay is an obvious threat and there's a case to be made for Ernie's Valentine.
Run of the race will be important but METAHORSE gets the vote ahead of Ernie's Valentine and Secret Strength.

Expected to be bang there with further progress on the cards. Sligo second encouraging, could go well well if handling likely softer ground. |

10/1(+44%) | (8) Cullaghs Star 10/1, 14/1, possibly still needed the run when eighth of 16 in handicap hurdle at Tipperary (16f, good) a fortnight ago. Mildly encouraging effort on latest but plenty more likely needed here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (3.5/1 +13%) Presenting Lad |
3.5/1(+13%) | (10) Presenting Lad 3.5/1, 7/2, career best when winning 15-runner handicap hurdle at Roscommon (15.5f, good to soft) 10 days ago. Up to a career-high mark but not taken lightly in his current mood. Ready Roscommon winner respected despite 8lb rise; won't want too much rain. |

12/1(+14%) | (4) Charcor 12/1, Last of 15 in handicap (80/1) at the Curragh (10f, good) 19 days ago. Switches from Flat to hurdles. Has work to do. Little of note after two-year absence of late; best watched for now. |

Finally took advantage of a reduced mark to win 14-runner handicap hurdle at Wexford (16.8f, good to soft, 8/1) 13 days ago, pushed out. 6 lb higher and should remain competitive. Recent Wexford winner 6lb higher now but still on a fair mark; major player. |

8th (1) (14/1 +22%) Bigz Belief |
14/1(+22%) | (1) Bigz Belief 14/1, Latest win at Sligo in June. Run best excused when seventh of 10 in handicap hurdle there (16.9f, good, 7/1) 11 days ago, doing too much too soon. Dropped 2 lb and holds sound each-way claims. Too keen at Sligo last time, will need to settle much better. |

33/1(+50%) | (13) Baltinglass Hill 33/1, C&D winner. 100/1, seventeenth of 23 in handicap hurdle at Naas (18.9f, soft) just under 4 months ago. Blinkered for 1st time. C&D winner in 2021; ground to soft when last seen so won't want too much rain. |

33/1(-106%) | (7) Must Meet Cecil 33/1, Beginning to feel the pinch when fell heavily 3 out in beginners chase at Tipperary (16.8f, soft, 50/1) 16 days ago. Switches from chase to hurdles. Has shown little in handicaps and back hurdling here after taking a fall over fences. |

25/1(+0%) | (9) Mr Sundancer 25/1, Held when ran out 2 out in handicap hurdle (18/1) at Perth (16.2f, good) 26 days ago. Best watched. Ran out at Perth on recent comeback but not one to rule out. |

13th (5) (66/1 -100%) Given Wings |
66/1(-100%) | (5) Given Wings 66/1, Tongue strap on for 1st time, too free on first run since leaving Henry De Bromhead when twelfth of 15 in handicap hurdle (33/1) at Tipperary (20f, good to soft) 2 weeks ago, doing too much too soon. C&D maiden winner but recent comeback run leaves him with lots to find. |

|PU| (12) (18/1 -13%) Babylon Beach |
18/1(-13%) | (12) Babylon Beach 18/1, Seemed to excel himself back over fences when second of 8 in beginners chase at this C&D (good, 28/1). Off 11 months. Switches from chase to hurdles. Tongue strap on 1st time. Miaden runs well here so don't rule out with tongue tie tried, despite long absence. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
RICKY LANGFORD exploited a lower hurdles mark at Wexford recently, having previously won off 12lb higher in a handicap chase at this venue. Philip Rothwell has elected to stay over flights with the nine-year-old and that decision looks like being rewarded. Even after being reassessed, the gelding is still on a more favourable rating in this discipline. Presenting Lad was a very easy winner at Roscommon earlier this month but the handicapper has had his say subsequently. However, given the ease with which he travelled throughout that contest, it is difficult to imagine the Mark McNiff-trained seven-year-old not playing a significant role. Charcor has run well on a couple of previous visits to this track and while those were on the flat, he is undoubtedly well handicapped over hurdles.
SOLITARY MAN took a small step forward when runner-up to a Willie Mullins favourite at Ballinrobe in May and with further progress on the cards, he's fancied to open his account at the expense of Presenting Lad, who proved better than ever when scoring at Roscommon recently. Ricky Langford and Bigz Belief can do battle for minor honours.
Recent Roscommon winner PRESENTING LAD gets the vote to see off recent Wexford scorer Ricky Langford

9/1(+64%) | (6) G'day Aussie 9/1, Fair winning hurdler in September 2021 but hasn't fired since and returned from a lengthy absence with a tame display at Southwell 44 days ago. Hard to know if he retains any ability. Well beaten on return from long absence; may do better with that run behind him. |

2nd (7) (4/1 +38%) Gone In Sixty |
4/1(+38%) | (7) Gone In Sixty 4/1, Remains a maiden and arrives on the back of a disappointing showing at Southwell, so needs cheekpieces to perk him up if he's to feature. Fair third two starts ago but below that form next time; cheekpieces could help. |

3rd (4) (66/1 -100%) Pepsiwithacap |
66/1(-100%) | (4) Pepsiwithacap 66/1, Just modest form over hurdles in Ireland. Performed respectably on Flat upon joining present yard but disappointing of late in this sphere. Something to prove. No joy over hurdles in Britain and last of 12 over C&D ten days ago. |

4th (8) (5.5/1 +21%) Pittsburg |
5.5/1(+21%) | (8) Pittsburg 5.5/1, Poor hurdler/chaser who shaped a bit better than the result (made a late error) over the larger obstacles at Fakenham last time. Worth a market check. Fair chase run last month; market should guide as to what's expected back hurdling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (4/1 +20%) Graffiti |
4/1(+20%) | (3) Graffiti 4/1, Off the mark in this sphere at the second attempt in a 7-runner Fontwell juvenile in August. Failed to match that in two subsequent outings last season and hasn't been in form on the Flat lately. Hurdle form isn't sparkling but won on the Flat last month; some appeal. |

6th (2) (5/1 -43%) Zamond |
5/1(-43%) | (2) Zamond 5/1, Gives his running more often than not and shaped like the run may have been needed when seventh back from a break at Cartmel 20 days ago. 7th (1) (2.75/1 -46%) Zucayan |
2.75/1(-46%) | (1) Zucayan 2.75/1, Career best when winning 10-runner handicap hurdle at Ludlow (15.8f, good, 4/1) 67 days ago, kept up to work. Bumper form gives him scope for better still and he should take all the beating in this thin race. Absent since Ludlow win in May; strong claims on that form off just 4lb higher. |

8th (9) (100/1 -150%) Tika Moon |
100/1(-150%) | (9) Tika Moon 100/1, Limited impact in bumpers/novice hurdles for Paul Webber and fared no better on debut for this stable 13 months ago. Unlikely to make an impact. Placed in a bumper but little over hurdles so far; handicap debut. |

25/1(+0%) | (5) Wee Jerry 25/1, Pulled up in handicap hurdle at Cartmel (25.4f, good to soft, 66/1) 18 days ago, no response. Very hard to make a case for based on what he's done this season. Unplaced all 13 hurdle starts, the latest pair at Cartmel. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
ZUCAYAN was able to build on his Bangor effort having returned from a break in April when winning at Ludlow the following month and the lightly-raced six-year-old is fancied to continue his progression from a 4lb higher mark. Graffiti has been in good form on the Flat recently and must be of interest back in this sphere, while Zamond is just 1lb above his last winning mark and it would come as no surprise were he to feature.
ZUCAYAN improved further to score at Ludlow a couple of months ago and he boasts a positive profile over hurdles, so he's an obvious choice in a weak race. Zamond is the obvious danger down in grade.
Despite a modest latest effort, preference is for ZAMOND, who is on a good mark.

Second in a fillies' Listed race at Navan last time and improving but this demands more. |

4th (5) (0.91/1 +39%) Trustyourinstinct |
0.91/1(+39%) | (5) Trustyourinstinct 0.91/1, Promising Churchill colt who impressively made it 2-2 in 6-runner minor event at Gowran (9.4f, good to soft) 32 days ago. The one to beat with more to offer. Smart colt has won both starts at a lower level; respected but will have to improve. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
BOLD DISCOVERY might be able to upstage likely favourite Trustyourinstinct. The latter is two from two but faces his stiffest task to date and may come up short against the classy, battle-hardened selection. After disappointing in two May starts, the Jessica Harrington-trained bay was subsequently treated for allergies and showed his true colours when claiming a Listed contest on his most recent outing. He should be well able for this step-up in trip to nine-furlongs and it'll be disappointing if he is not involved towards the business end. A half-brother to the brilliant 2021 dual Oaks winner Snowfall, Alfred Munnings was a well-beaten third on his return to action at the Curragh. He is entitled to come on plenty for that effort though, as it was his first in over a year. Self Belief has been ultimately disappointing so far this season and will need to bounce back to his best if he is to feature. Empress Of Beauty went down by just a head in Listed company at Naas last month and should give a good account of herself.
Joseph O'Brien's Churchill colt TRUSTYOURINSTINCT looks a good prospect and is fancied to take this step up in class in his stride and make it 3-3. Curragh scorer Bold Discovery should ensure he doesn't have things all his own way though, with improving duo Empress of Beauty and Alfred Munnings not discounted either.
Returning to the scene of his impressive maiden score last year, ALFRED MUNNINGS can take a big step forward from his return start.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
A taking winner at Leicester last time out, GOLDEN MAVERICK has been in fine form of late and a fourth triumph in six starts could be in the offing for the son of Zarak. Despite conceding weight all round, Grey Fox can't be discounted now stepped back up in trip and may give the selection plenty to think about, while C&D winner Ectocross also has the form to get involved in proceedings.
ECTOCROSS ran out a decisive winner over C&D last week so is taken to defy a penalty. Golden Maverick improved again when notching a third handicap win at Leicester and looks the obvious danger.
Ectocross won well here last week but GOLDEN MAVERICK is progressing nicely and may have his measure tonight.

3/1(+88%) | (2) Can't Resist It 3/1, Getaway gelding. Dam (h105), bumper/2½m hurdle winner, half-sister to fairly useful hurdler/chaser (stayed 3m) Make My Heart Fly. Unplaced sole start in points (Feb 5). Beaten favourite in Belharbour 4yo maiden point-to-point in February. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (9/1 +18%) Plaisir Des Flos |
9/1(+18%) | (7) Plaisir Des Flos 9/1, 4/1, shaped similarly to previously after 7 months off when fourth of 7 in bumper at Stratford (16.3f, good to soft) 16 days ago, late headway. Three runs have all been in Britain and plenty of improvement likely needed to feature. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (150/1 -50%) Marksetgo |
150/1(-50%) | (5) Marksetgo 150/1, Offered little when eleventh of 14 in bumper at Tipperary (16f, good to soft, 33/1) on debut 2 weeks ago. Tailed off on recent Tipperary debut, can only be watched now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (14/1 +44%) Rodney |
14/1(+44%) | (8) Rodney 14/1, £16,000 4-y-o, Golden Horn gelding. Dam fairly useful 1½m winner on Flat. Market can guide. Unraced for Hughie Morrison; market likely best guide. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (80/1 +20%) Charlie Pops |

10th (1) (4/1 +38%) Ally Kazoo |
4/1(+38%) | (1) Ally Kazoo 4/1, El Kabeir gelding. Half-brother to 4 winners, including smart hurdler/chaser Threeunderthrufive, stays 4m, and useful chaser Benruben. Makes some paper appeal and the betting should prove informative. Half-brother to 4 bumper winners; market likely best guide. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (12) (40/1 +39%) Frost Fairy |
40/1(+39%) | (12) Frost Fairy 40/1, 6,500 gns 3-y-o, Dark Angel filly. Half-sister to 6.5f winner Mottrib. Dam winner up to 1¼m on Flat (2-y-o 1m winner). Flat-bred the lesser likely of the Hanlon pair. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
ALLY KAZOO, a half-brother to three black-type winners, is worth a close market check for a stable that have traditionally done well with their bumper horses at this meeting. Derek O'Connor is a significant booking for the Sam Curling-trained gelding. Luckinthecity is another debutant that has to be given close consideration. From a family that has produced plenty of stayers on the flat, the Willie Mullins-trained newcomer is one of the more likely winners. Master Otis sets a fair standard, having finished runner-up on two of his five starts. The Tom Mullins-trained gelding has crucial racecourse experience which could count for plenty if he gets into a battle with one of the newcomers.
Those with racecourse experience don't set a tall standard so LUCKINTHECITY gets the nod to make a winning start for champion trainer Willie Mullins at the expense of Master Otis, who has acquitted himself well in all 5 starts in bumpers so far but was a bit below his best at Tipperary 2 weeks ago. Ally Kazoo and Plaisir des Flos can fight out third spot.
Willie Mullins introduces LUCKINTHECITY and he could well be good enough to score

1st (9) (5/1 -25%) Woodie Flash |
5/1(-25%) | (9) Woodie Flash 5/1, £20,000 purchase after getting off the mark in Irish points at the second attempt in February. Finished runner-up in a couple of small-field hurdles last month and should appreciate this stiffer test of stamina. Second in both hurdle starts but form doesn't amount to a great deal; up in trip. |

2.25/1(+50%) | (8) Seinesational 2.25/1, Consistent performer who acquitted himself well, after 14 months off, when third in novice over C&D in October. Not in same form at Market Rasen next time but must enter calculations here. Has proved disappointing over hurdles, given Flat ability; back from another break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (9/1 +50%) Craven Bay |
9/1(+50%) | (3) Craven Bay 9/1, Won final 2 starts in points in May 2022 but well held both starts in this sphere, merely plugging on when third of 4 in novice at Uttoxeter (19.9f, good) 18 days ago. Likely a longer-term prospect. Dual point winner; needs to improve on two hurdle efforts to date. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (10) (7.5/1 -15%) Presenting Nelly |
7.5/1(-15%) | (10) Presenting Nelly 7.5/1, Fair bumper winner who shaped as if better for the run. sent hurdling after lengthy absence, when third of 12 in novice (12/1) at Southwell (20.4f, good) last month. Entitled to improve with tongue strap applied. Not disgraced on return from long absence; can do better; tongue-strap on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (3/1 +25%) Teeceethree |
3/1(+25%) | (11) Teeceethree 3/1, Warwick bumper winner who has run creditably in both starts over hurdles, latest when second of 11 in novice at this course (16f, good, 11/1) 29 days ago. Worth a crack at this longer trip and is one for shortlist. Second in both hurdle starts; may well benefit from this much longer trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (22/1 -83%) Flying Standard |
22/1(-83%) | (4) Flying Standard 22/1, Fair and largely consistent handicapper on Flat for Chris Wall. Sold 6,000 gns in February and worth a check in market on NH debut for new yard. Four Flat wins; absent since September; bought for 6,000gns; stable/hurdle debut. |

7th (7) (150/1 +0%) Ruby's Comet |
150/1(+0%) | (7) Ruby's Comet 150/1, Half-brother to 3 winners but didn't offer much in a couple of bumpers and similar story on both starts in this sphere. Tries longer trip now. Tailed off all four starts; hood returns. |

5.5/1(-83%) | (2) Clapton Hill 5.5/1, Returned to form, in first-time tongue strap, when second of 8 in novice hurdle at Newton Abbot (21.6f, good, 9/2) 13 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Likely contender. Second at Newton Abbot recently; cheekpieces now added; first attempt at trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (22/1 -57%) Carpe Diem |
22/1(-57%) | (1) Carpe Diem 22/1, Shaped with some encouragement when third of 6 in bumper at this course (16f, good to soft) on NH debut 22 days ago. Bred to appreciate this longer trip and worth a market check on hurdles bow. Third in a bumper; could make his presence felt on hurdle debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Second on both starts over timber, WOODIE FLASH appeals as the type to go one better now raised in trip. Olly Murphy's gelding shades the vote over Carpe Diem, who looks capable of building on last month's debut third here in a bumper. Teeceethree is another potential improver over this longer distance, while dual point-winner Craven Bay cannot be left out of calculations either.
Preference is for CLAPTON HILL, who got back on track at Newton Abbot earlier this month and hails from a yard in fine form. Seinesational and Teeceethree look the likeliest dangers.
In the hope that stepping up in trip will bring out improvement, TEECEETHREE is selected.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
The first foal out of brilliant four-time Group 1 winner Alpha Centauri, SATURN is the standout name. While friendless on debut at the Curragh on Derby weekend, the grey colt went down fighting and was beaten by just half-a-length. He is sure to come on plenty for that experience and looks the one to beat. Kadeen has two solid efforts to his name but was two-and-three-quarters of a length behind the selection at the Curragh and it's difficult to see him reversing the form now. Tommy Thug made some late gains when eighth behind the aforementioned pair on debut and it'll be interesting to see if he can build on that effort. The 80 rated Teorie is sure to have plenty of supporters, while others that warrant respect are Velvet And Vine and newcomer Rioja Alta.
SATURN showed plenty when second at the Curragh on debut and, with improvement on the cards, he's fancied to open his account at the second attempt. Kadeen looks the obvious danger but a quick return to form from Teorie would give him a solid chance.
Having run green when narrowly beaten at the Curragh on debut, the beautifully-bred SATURN should be able to go one better.

1.5/1(+40%) | (2) Inverinate 1.5/1, Got off the mark at Chelmsford City in June and backed it up with a good second of 8 in handicap at Lingfield (7f, good to firm) 19 days ago. Can go well again despite a 2 lb rise. Two seconds on good to firm at Lingfield either side of his AW win at Chelmsford, all 7f. |

7/1(-75%) | (3) H Key Lails 7/1, Final run for Craig Lidster when winning 8.6f handicap at Wolverhampton in May and made a very good start for his new yard when second at Brighton (7f) 16 day ago. May do better still so he's a player. Made a good start for his new trainer when second of nine at Brighton (7f, good to firm). |

7th (5) (9/1 +25%) Muy Muy Guapo |

8th (4) (16/1 -14%) Hawajes |
16/1(-14%) | (4) Hawajes 16/1, Fair maiden. 40/1, first run since leaving Richard Hannon when good fourth of 11 in minor event at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 24 days ago. Much respected now going into handicaps. Some ability for Richard Hannon and new yard; gelded; unexposed handicap/turf debutant. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
H KEY LAILS ran an excellent race when second on his debut for the Michael Attwater yard at Brighton and he must hold every chance if building on that effort. Conditions are in his favour once more and he can master the likes of Inverinate, who has not been outside the first two in his last three starts, and Fayasel, who sports cheekpieces for the first time.
Little between the principals on form but H KEY LAILS arrives on the up so he edges the vote from in-form duo Inverinate and Fayasel, who can chase home Michael Attwater's new recruit in that order. Blue Curacao completes the shortlist.
The solid options look to be INVERINATE and H Key Lails who look set for big runs if their last three starts are anything to go by.

66/1(-32%) | (2) Henry Danger 66/1, Offered little when ninth of 12 in bumper at Wexford (16f, good, 25/1) on debut 29 days ago. Never counted on last month's debut at Wexford; best watched. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
ROYAL MOON has shaped with promise on all five starts under rules, including when partnered by today's rider on his last two runs. The Edward O'Grady-trained five-year-old is more exposed than a few of these rivals but sets a fair standard that may only be bettered by an above average newcomer. Longview Lady is the most obvious contender from the latter category, given that she represents the Willie Mullins-Jody Townend partnership. Being the first foal of an unraced dam, she is difficult to weigh up but her trainer has an embarrassment of riches in this division. Silver Lark was only just beaten on her debut at Thurles in February but has failed to back that up in two subsequent runs. Perhaps, a return to better ground will see the Gordon Elliott-trained mare recapture her earlier form.
Only a handful of these make any serious appeal with SILVER LARK getting the vote to get back on track after a below-par effort at Clonmel 10 weeks ago. Willie Mullins is represented by Longview Lady and she ticks plenty of boxes, with Royal Moon and Minella Diamond another couple worth keeping an eye on.
Hardly original but the nicely-bred LONGVIEW LADY looks a another likely first-time out bumper winner for the Willie Mullins yard

1st (4) (3/1 +57%) Ranco |
3/1(+57%) | (4) Ranco 3/1, Capitalised on easing mark when making winning stable debut at Newton Abbot (16.7f) 12 months ago and largely acquitted himself well from inflated mark thereafter last year. Better for return when fourth back at that venue 23 days ago and considered in refitted cheekpieces. Not disgraced latest; better needed but longer trip a possible help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (10/1 +29%) Nowyouvebinandunit |
10/1(+29%) | (9) Nowyouvebinandunit 10/1, 6-y-o mare who offered more than previously over hurdles 9from 2 lb out of weights) when third in a 7-runner Ffos Las handicap (20f) 6 weeks ago. Remains relatively early days with her and she's an each-way player with a repeat. Improved recently and repeat of her Ffos Las third puts her firmly in the picture. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (11/1 -10%) Dirk Gently |
11/1(-10%) | (5) Dirk Gently 11/1, Offered little in bumpers/maiden hurdles but possibly did a little too much too soon when third on handicap debut at Uttoxeter (20f) in June, left behind from 2 out. Has since left Fergal O'Brien and he needs to pull out more here. Cheekpieces replace visor. Better when third on handicap debut last month; could play a part. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (3.33/1 +26%) Only Fools |
3.33/1(+26%) | (8) Only Fools 3.33/1, Fair Flat winner in France. Better signs over hurdles since handicapping, best effort yet when again finishing runner-up over 2m here last month. Should give another good account now tackling this longer trip. Improved efforts since handicapping; second over 2m here latest; entitled to be involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (6/1 +45%) Boomtime Banker |
6/1(+45%) | (7) Boomtime Banker 6/1, Returned from a long absence an improved model, winning handicaps over C&D/Plumpton last summer. Easy to back and finished well held back from 8 months off at Southwell (20.4f) in May, however. C&D win a year ago and followed up; tailed off only run this year; could bounce back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (4/1 +33%) Achnamara |
4/1(+33%) | (3) Achnamara 4/1, Useful 14f winner on Flat in 2022 for Charlie & Mark Johnston. Low-key efforts in trio of juvenile hurdles upon joining new yard last season and no real encouragement to glean from his run in last month's Ascot Stakes. Does at least now get a crack at handicaps in this sphere. Blinkered. Little over hurdles and tailed off on the Flat latest but lots of reasons to be interested. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (6.5/1 -44%) Genever Dragon |
6.5/1(-44%) | (1) Genever Dragon 6.5/1, Ended long losing run at Kelso (18f) in September and signed off last term with a good second at Sedgefield (19.8f) later that month. Did best of those ridden close up when third on return at Stratford 30 days ago and he's one to note on the back of that here. Good effort at Stratford, after a break, and one of the likelier candidates. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (14/1 +50%) Emberscombe |
14/1(+50%) | (11) Emberscombe 14/1, Down the field in a bumper/trio of novice hurdles. Easy to back and no upturn in handicaps so far this season, eighth of 11 in handicap hurdle at Newton Abbot (16.8f) 6 weeks ago. Much more needed from out of the weights. Not much so far; slightly better latest; up in trip a help but needs plenty of improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (12) (66/1 +0%) Chain Smoker |
66/1(+0%) | (12) Chain Smoker 66/1, His sole win came over fences in 2020 and he's not been threatening in that sphere in recent months. Hard to warm to operating from long way out of the weights back over smaller obstacles. Placed once from 13 starts for yard; 10lb out of the handicap. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Only Fools has hit the crossbar the last twice in this grade and is only asked to compete off a 3lb higher mark compared to the start of those efforts, but she is going into the unknown with this step up in distance, so for that reason, GENEVER DRAGON gets the vote. The son of Dragon Pulse filled the runner-up spot at Sedgefield over this trip last September and he made his return with a solid third at Stratford, so he could attempt to make all off the same rating. Nowyouvebinandunit is another to watch out for.
RANCO took a step forward from his reappearance effort when fourth at Newton Abbot 23 days ago and having eased further in the weights, he could be worth chancing to come out on top with the cheekpieces refitted now. Genever Dragon returned with a good second at Stratford recently and is feared, along with 4-y-o Only Fools. Jacks Orchard is another to note.
Although there are doubts, ACHNAMARA starts life in handicap hurdles on a very tempting mark.

3.6/1(-20%) | (10) Pinot Gris 3.6/1, Lightly-raced winner. 5/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, career best when winning 14-runner handicap at Down Royal (10.3f, good) 26 days ago, well on top finish. Should have more to offer. Big shout. Won a Down Royal handicap at 10.5f in first-time cheekpieces; 5lb higher now but respected. |

2nd (4) (12/1 +70%) One Cool Poet |
12/1(+70%) | (4) One Cool Poet 12/1, Sixteen runs since last win in 2019. 14/1, eighth of 10 in handicap at Tramore (16f, good to soft) 9 days ago. Booking of Lee a plus. Every chance if back to best. Veteran was poor at Tramore last time and has to bounce back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (13) (7/1 +42%) Grey Fable |
7/1(+42%) | (13) Grey Fable 7/1, Very good second of 16 in handicap (18/1) at Roscommon (12f, good to soft) 59 days ago. Needs considering. Second to a progressive sort at Roscommon over this trip last time; can take a hand. |

4th (3) (40/1 -43%) Loughisle Lady |
40/1(-43%) | (3) Loughisle Lady 40/1, 12/1, won 11-runner maiden at this course (15f, good to firm) on flat debut, all out. Off 13 months. First run for yard after leaving W. P. Mullins with her fitness to prove on her handicap debut. Won a QR maiden here over 1m7f just over a year ago; market a guide on return/stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (40/1 +39%) Desert Wind |
40/1(+39%) | (5) Desert Wind 40/1, 33/1, sixteenth of 22 in handicap at the Curragh (9f, good) 20 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Can give a good account if shrugging off latest effort. Has been badly regressive since last autumn and isn't easy to make a case for at present. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (7/1 +7%) Pale Moonlight |
7/1(+7%) | (8) Pale Moonlight 7/1, 10/1, creditable fourth of 12 in handicap at Gowran (13.7f, soft). Off 92 days. Visor back on. Merits consideration. Has been slowly away last twice but with a visor back on is of interest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (20/1 +9%) Bambeano |
20/1(+9%) | (7) Bambeano 20/1, 1 win from 3 runs this year. Winner at Dundalk in January. 11/2, respectable fourth of 13 in handicap at Dundalk (16f), left poorly placed. Off 155 days but not ruled out. In decent form at Dundalk when last seen; best watched on return unless market support. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (15) (66/1 -100%) Portunalia |
66/1(-100%) | (15) Portunalia 66/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Twelfth of 13 in handicap (25/1) at Dundalk (12f) 8 days ago. Stable in good form. Has work to do. Stumbled at the start last time but still disappointing; best watched until showing more. |

14/1(+0%) | (17) On The Money 14/1, Cheekpieces on for 1st time, good fifth of 13 in handicap (11/1) at Tipperary (12.6f, good) 15 days ago. Stable in good form. Blinkers back on. Must improve. Beaten 2.5l in first-time cheekpieces at Tipperary last time; needs more up in grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (12) (7/1 -40%) Fairytale Princess |
7/1(-40%) | (12) Fairytale Princess 7/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Seventh of 17 in maiden (50/1) at Gowran (9.4f, good to soft) 32 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Yard having good spell. Makes handicap debut. Uphill task at these weights though. Shapes as though this trip will suit and one to consider on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (1) (20/1 -43%) Dalvey |
20/1(-43%) | (1) Dalvey 20/1, Fifteen runs since last win in 2022. Respectable sixth of 10 in handicap (25/1) at Limerick (17f, good) 27 days ago. Back down in trip. Shortlist material off an easing mark. Soundly beaten in handicaps lately and isn't high on the list despite a falling mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (6) (40/1 -233%) Highland King |
40/1(-233%) | (6) Highland King 40/1, Creditable fifth of 13 in handicap (33/1) at Gowran (9.4f, good) 45 days ago. Significantly up in trip. First run for yard after leaving Henry De Bromhead. Enters calculations. Not a bad run at Gowran last time; best form has come here; has a squeak on stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (11) (10/1 -11%) Baile Locha Riach |
10/1(-11%) | (11) Baile Locha Riach 10/1, Good 5 lengths fifth of 14 to Pinot Gris in handicap at Down Royal (10.3f, good, 20/1) 26 days ago, never nearer. Up in trip. Trainer going well. Tongue strap on 1st time. Considered. Was 5.25l behind Pinot Gris at Down Royal last time; shouldn't be too far away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (16) (3.6/1 +64%) Union Flag |
3.6/1(+64%) | (16) Union Flag 3.6/1, Good second of 6 in handicap (5/1) at Fairyhouse (12f, good to firm) 41 days ago. Best handicap run came when 2nd at Fairyhouse over 1m4f last time; go well off same mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
15th (9) (50/1 -52%) Oh Cleo |
50/1(-52%) | (9) Oh Cleo 50/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 9/1, below form seventh of 14 in maiden at Dundalk (8f). Off 7 months. Significantly up in trip. First run for yard after leaving G. M. Lyons with more required. Takes a major step-up in trip on handicap/stable debut; market could guide. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
16th (2) (12/1 +52%) Darraby |
12/1(+52%) | (2) Darraby 12/1, 22/1, third of 5 in minor event hurdle at Punchestown (19.8f, good) 40 days ago. Tongue strap on 1st time on the Flat. Others more persuasive. Some decent runs after winning last year; solid hurdle run last month and has a squeak. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
A competitive contest to round off proceedings, where it might be worth taking a chance on BAILE LOCHA RIACH. A 200,000 pound yearling purchase, he has been disappointing, however his most recent effort at Down Royal was his best to date, and he might be able to build on that performance. Despite still showing signs of greenness, he kept on in the closing stages to finish fifth and fitted with a tongue-strap for the first time now, it should help his cause. Named after the hometown of his owner Michael Burke, a trip to Galway could also be on the cards for this Siyouni chestnut. Pinot Gris made the breakthrough at Down Royal, with the selection back in fifth, and it'll come as little surprise if he manages to follow-up. It'll be interesting to see how Loughisle Lady fares, making her debut for Ciaran Murphy while also returning from a lengthy absence. Union Flag, Darraby, Grey Fable and On The Money are others to keep on side.
PINOT GRIS got off the mark with something to spare at Down Royal and can make light of a 5 lb rise in the weights with this return to 1m4f another plus for Gavin Cromwell's son of Mastercraftsman. Roscommon second Grey Fable could emerge as the chief threat with Pale Moonlight and Dalvey two more who need factoring into an open handicap.
Second to a most progressive sort at Roscommon last time, GREY FABLE can go one better and confirm that form with Pinot Gris.

1st (6) (7.5/1 +6%) Night Eagle |
7.5/1(+6%) | (6) Night Eagle 7.5/1, C&D winner last summer and offered more than on his reappearance when fifth of 9 in handicap (7/1) at Lingfield (12f, AW) 47 days ago. Claims if building on that. Two wins, a 2nd and a 3rd from four appearances here put him into serious calculations. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (6/1 +40%) Naasma |
6/1(+40%) | (7) Naasma 6/1, Found improvement when scoring at Lingfield (10f) last month and backed that up with solid second of 6 in handicap at Windsor (10f, firm, 3/1) 18 days ago. Worth a crack at this longer trip and is not out of things. 1st and 2nd over 1m2f on last two outings and now looks worth a go at 1m4f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (11/1 -22%) Sword Beach |
11/1(-22%) | (3) Sword Beach 11/1, Been given a chance by the handicapper and posted creditable fourth at Doncaster (11.9f, good to firm) 48 days ago, not ideally placed. Warrants respect. Fourth of nine at Doncaster (1m4f, good to firm) last time gave some renewed hope. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (1.5/1 +20%) Spritzin' |
1.5/1(+20%) | (8) Spritzin' 1.5/1, Promising sort who upped her game when close second of 9 in handicap at Pontefract (12f, good to soft, 9/2) on return 9 days ago. Likely more to come yet. H'cap/seasonal debut at Pontefract (1m4f, good) last week, making most and beaten a neck. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (5/1 -43%) Red Royalist |
5/1(-43%) | (2) Red Royalist 5/1, Ended long losing run when taking 8-runner handicap at Chester (12.3f, heavy) 5 days ago. Can race off same mark and is one for the shortlist. Ended a long losing run at Chester (1m4f, soft) five days ago; due to go back up 2lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (16/1 +0%) Angels Roc |
16/1(+0%) | (9) Angels Roc 16/1, Won twice last season and posted best effort this term when fourth of 11 in handicap over C&D (good) 15 days ago, never nearer. His slow-starting habit is a concern, though. Came from tenth of the 11 runners when below-form fourth over C&D on latest outing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (4.5/1 +72%) Nellie Moon |
4.5/1(+72%) | (4) Nellie Moon 4.5/1, Ran poorly when last seen at Newbury 13 months ago and is likely best watched on return. Unraced since May 2022; too far down the weights to be comfortably ruled out. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
SPRITZIN' made an impression when stepped up in trip and was runner-up on her handicap debut at Pontefract last time out. She is taken to go one better on this occasion. Haydock scorer Typical Woman looks to be her main danger, along with Red Royalist, who was determined winner over slightly further at Chester on Saturday. Naasma and Sword Beach can also have a say in proceedings.
There should be more to come from SPRITZIN', who looked a different proposition when stepped up to this trip at Pontefract last week. She can land the finale. Red Royalist and Typical Woman rate the principal dangers.
Most arrive after positive recent performances but only one has major potential and that is the Prescott 3yo SPRITZIN' (nap).

1st (1) (3/1 -20%) No Way Pedro |
3/1(-20%) | (1) No Way Pedro 3/1, Matched the pick of his Irish form for Michael Butler when making a winning debut for this yard in a course handicap hurdle (2m, good) last month and achieved more despite it being a seller when following up at Southwell since. Has to be respected in this hat-trick bid. Unbeaten in two British starts; stays this longer trip; shortlisted despite climbing mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (4.5/1 -29%) Pollypockett |
4.5/1(-29%) | (6) Pollypockett 4.5/1, Bumper winner who didn't need to improve to get off the mark but did show a good attitude to get back up at Market Rasen (20.6f, good) last month. Nudged up just 3 lb and every chance she will be involved once again. Gained reward for consistent efforts with narrow Market Rasen win; this may need more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (9/1 +25%) Inspector Lynley |
9/1(+25%) | (7) Inspector Lynley 9/1, No impact in bumpers/novice hurdles but showed his first form over in this sphere when fourth in handicap hurdle at this C&D (good to soft) 22 days ago, ideally needing a stronger pace. Probably needs further than this so others make more appeal. Unplaced all starts; much improved when fourth over C&D last month; more needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (10) (10/1 +29%) Solid Fuel |
10/1(+29%) | (10) Solid Fuel 10/1, Little impact over hurdles so far but confirmed he isn't devoid of ability when third at Fontwell (19.2f, good) last month, emerging as a threat briefly. Task is now backing that effort up. Maiden; better efforts last twice but deal more needed for a win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (11/1 +45%) Perryville |
11/1(+45%) | (3) Perryville 11/1, Fair form at best in maiden/novice hurdles and no real progress switched to handicaps. Cheekpieces on and given a serious chance by the handicapper, he not discounted back up in trip. Maiden; most disappointing effort latest; cheekpieces now tried. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (28/1 -12%) Blitz Spirit |
28/1(-12%) | (8) Blitz Spirit 28/1, Fair performer on the Flat in France but she has yet to make a meaningful impact in this sphere, keeping on in fifth when fell 2 out at Southwell (20.4f, good) just over 5 weeks ago (likely to have finished third if completing). Tough to fancy. Was running with some credit when falling on return from a break; could be involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (16/1 +20%) Indelible Spin |
16/1(+20%) | (9) Indelible Spin 16/1, Fair third in 7-runner Huntingdon maiden (15.8f, good) in May, which represented a step forward compared to her previous efforts in this sphere. Wasn't seen to best effect on handicap debut last time but may make more impact off a similarly lowly mark here. No threat in maiden hurdles and no improvement on handicap debut last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (11) (33/1 +50%) Dannystory |
33/1(+50%) | (11) Dannystory 33/1, Runner-up on final outing in points but little form under Rules and others make more appeal. Tongue tie applied for this return to hurdling. Maiden; little appeal back hurdling with a tongue-strap on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (4) (2.25/1 +18%) Bluebella |
2.25/1(+18%) | (4) Bluebella 2.25/1, Different proposition fitted with a tongue tie when storming clear in the closing stages at this track (2m) in May. Better form when runner-up on both subsequent starts and this in-form mare is a must for the shortlist reunited with her usual claimer. Much improved lately; second over this trip last month; strong claims again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (16/1 -78%) Loved Out |
16/1(-78%) | (2) Loved Out 16/1, Just the one win from 19 starts over hurdles but he was placed on 10 occasions. Turned in a lacklustre display sent chasing at Newton Abbot (25.8f, good) just over 3 weeks ago so no surprise to see that idea quickly shelved. Every chance on his second in May but not so good since; pulled up on chase debut latest. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
NO WAY PEDRO is two from two since joining the Brian Barr yard and the latest of those victories came in a selling hurdle at Southwell over 2m. The step up in trip shouldn't pose him many problems, as he has placed form over this distance in Ireland previously in his career, so he can make it a hat-trick. Bluebella certainly won't go down without a fight after finishing 11 lengths clear of the third at Uttoxeter, along with recent C&D fourth Inspector Lynley.
A few in with a squeak but BLUEBELLA is a mare in form and having hit the crossbar on her last couple of starts, Tom Lacey's charge is fancied to regain the winning thread reunited with her usual claimer. No Way Pedro arrives chasing a hat-trick but Brian Barr's 9-y-o may have to settle for silver on this occasion, with Pollypockett and Perryville another couple worth considering.
The steadily progressive BLUEBELLA (nap) can gain a second success over hurdles.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
