14:10 Pontefract Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

LENNON did extremely well to supplement a Bath triumph over a mile here recently. The rise in distance looks likely to unlock some more improvement from George Boughey's inmate and he's taken to defy a 6lb penalty on this quick turnaround. The biggest threat may emerge from Unplugged, who arrives on the back of a close-up second at Haydock, while Life On The Rocks may fare best of the remainder.

LENNON has proved a different proposition back from a break/switched to handicaps, supplementing his Bath success over 1m here 8 days ago. The increase in trip promises to suit George Boughey's charge and he can complete the hat-trick with the prospect of more to come. Life On The Rocks and last year's winner Unplugged are others fancied to figure.

George Boughey's LENNON has seriously raised his game with the transition to handicapping and looks set for his third win in a row.

14:25 Worcester Handicap Chase (Class 5) 20f Race Class Flow

The application of first-time cheekpieces got more out of last month's C&D winner Calvic. He must enter calculations, but a 6lb higher mark leaves him vulnerable and it might be worth taking a chance on SOMEKINDOFSTAR, who arrives on the back of a staying-on third over an extended 2m at Fakenham. The Matt Crawley-trained veteran should relish a return to this distance and a fifth career victory could beckon. Tribesmans Glory makes most appeal of the remainder.

While supporting a 20-race maiden is generally risky business, in the case of GONE IN SIXTY such a leap of faith is not required. Indeed, the 7-y-o has shown more than enough to suggest that he has a race of this nature in him off this sort of mark. Best Mate Dave is interesting on his debut in this sphere and is feared most ahead of Jac Jumper, who may well reverse recent C&D placings with Calvic. Tribesmans Glory was a winner last time and also enters calculations.

The most convincing form is the race here last month in which CALVIC got up on the line to beat Jac Jumper by a short head.

Long time since he finished placed and he never looked like justifying support last time.

Havagomecca posted her best performance of 2024 when finishing second at Musselburgh last time out and Michael Dods' mare must enter the reckoning off an unchanged mark. However, GLORY HYDE arrives on the back of a breakthrough victory in a 19-runner affair at Thirsk and the daughter of Cotai Glory appears to have been let in lightly racing off just 4lb higher. Mereside Angel and Sound Reason are also noted.

GIS A SUB's losing run tempers enthusiasm but he arrives having shaped better than the bare result when sixth at Ripon 26 days ago, coming from a long way and ending up widest of all. Lurking on a dangerous mark, he could be worth chancing to end the drought. Thirsk scorer Glory Hyde, Cavalier Approach and Secret Command are others to consider in a competitive contest.

This can go to SOUND REASON, who's on a career-low mark after a solid effort last time. The well-treated Havagomecca is next best.

14:55 Worcester Handicap Chase (Class 4) 23f Race Class Flow

BBOLD rolled back the years when scoring for the first time since 2022 at Stratford recently and the Daisy Hitchins-trained 10-year-old appeared to have enough in hand to suggest that he can defy a 6lb rise in the ratings. The biggest threat could be posed by last-time-out Bangor winner Almazhar Garde, although the class-dropping Ajp Kingdom returned to form with a solid second over track and trip and is a contender too.

BBOLD has been in good order since joining his present yard, well served by the drop back in trip when running out a convincing winner at Stratford 13 days ago. He's fancied to handle the 6 lb rise and come out on top again. Hidden Depths, with a reappearance spin on the Flat under his belt, and Ajp Kingdom may emerge as the chief threats.

In a trappy race BBOLD is taken to follow up his win at Stratford two weeks ago. Ajp Kingdom is another who should go well.

ARDEUR was quite taking when making all to open her account over C&D last month and she rates as the one to beat. The Kameko filly had that contest sewn up some way out and she can repel fellow last-time-out winner Unspoken Love. Karl Burke's filly displayed a willing attitude to score at Musselburgh, which should stand her in good stead going forward. York disappointment Sunshine Soul could also prove a threat now returned to quicker ground conditions.

ARDEUR had clearly derived plenty from her promising debut effort when running out a ready winner of a C&D maiden 3 weeks ago and Ralp Beckett's filly may well be up to conceding weight all round and coming out on top again. Sunshine Soul ran no sort of race at York on her latest outing but is a clear threat on her debut form. Musselburgh-scorer Unspoken Love can also figure back up in class.

Improvement from SHE WENT WHOOSH may win her this race following her debut second at Ripon.

Hola Hermosa offered much more encouragement with her placed effort at Stratford and she isn't taken lightly. However, ALL INN HAND is entitled to build on her opening third at Uttoxeter and any improvement should make her difficult to pass. Point-to-point runner-up Back In The Bay possesses enough speed in her pedigree to suggest that she could play a part on her Rules debut, and the market may prove informative.

HOLA HERMOSA showed much more second time up at Stratford 6 weeks ago and might be able to open her account on the back of that. Stablemate Put A Lid On It and Queen of The Vale are interesting newcomers and the betting could be revealing.

Having shaped with a degree of promise on her debut at Uttoxeter the vote goes to ALL INN HAND. Hola Hermosa should also run well.

OLD COCK has had an excellent start to his career and he showed more than enough pace when scoring over 1m2f last time out at Haydock to suggest that he can handle the drop back to a mile on this occasion. Runner-up on his previous two starts at Carlisle, Aviemore must be of interest on his handicap debut, while Savvy Exchange has strong claims on his C&D success, rather than his subsequent Windsor defeat.

Having landed an Ayr maiden on his reappearance, OLD COCK found further progress to edge out another improving sort over this sort of trip at Haydock 24 days ago and he looks to hold serious claims again in his hat-trick bid. Handicap-debutants Aviemore and Savvy Exchange are others fancied to figure.

This can go to OLD COCK, who can defy a 6lb rise at the main expense of Colorada Dancer, who didn't get the breaks at Chester.

Captain Attridge's recent Hereford second hasn't worked out particularly well but Henry Oliver's in-form gelding merits respect, while shock Southwell bumper winner Moonscape Girl, a half-sister to the useful Thecompanysergeant, is an interesting contender ahead of her hurdling bow. Her stablemate VOCITO has looked rejuvenated since joining the Olly Murphy team, though, and he's taken to follow up last month's C&D triumph.

Olly Murphy holds a very strong hand here, with the Sean Bowen-ridden VOCITO preferred to his new stablemate and hurdle-debutante Moonscape Girl before any betting clues are known. Captain Attridge looks best of the rest.

The choice is MOONSCAPE GIRLp, who showed improved form to win a bumper last time. Stablemat \bVocito looks her main danger.

The seven-year-old has operated off higher marks in the past and he is preferred to Wetherby scorer Daytona Lady and Dicko The Legend, who bounced back to form with a strong placed effort at Hamilton last month.

C&D winner LATE ARRIVAL was quickly back to form when runner-up over this trip at Thirsk 24 days ago and he looks to hold sound claims of going one place better from this sort of mark. Wetherby-scorer Daytona Lady and Dicko The Legend are others to consider. Macarone is another not to give up on if dispelling his latest effort.

A few with chances, but JOLIE BAIE sprung a surprise on her return from the sidelines at Ffos Las in May and a 6lb rise might not stop the unexposed five-year-old. Hugueneau forced a dead-heat for top honours, before placing first outright, over an extended 2m3f at Huntingdon last time out. This longer trip could unlock further improvement and he merits respect, as do Fine By Me and Caspers Court.

JOLIE BAIE probably did well to come from so far back to win at Ffos Las on her reappearance and further progress is a distinct possibility for a mare who is very much unexposed as a stayer. Dan Skelton's Huntingdon scorer Hugueneau rates an obvious danger, while Getaway Glory would be a threat to all if able to translate his recent chase form back to hurdles. Royal Sam has come down a long way in the weights and is one to note in the betting under Harry Cobden.

Denied by the narrowest of margins at Thirsk last week, DOOMSDAY is able to compete off the same mark and he may be able to gain compensation. With conditions in his favour again, the five-year-old could have too much for the in-form True Nation, as well as Indication Rocket, who might be suited by the cut back in trip. Others to note include Footonthegas, Mr Heinz and Premiership.

COLOANE had a possible excuse when a beaten favourite at Catterick last time and might be worth one more chance as she continues to look well treated on the pick of last year's form. Richard Fahey's True Nation arrives in form and is second choice ahead of last Sunday's course runner-up Indication Rocket.

Most claims do not look at all bright at the moment. The clear exceptions are TRUE NATION, Indication Rocket and Doomsday.

This looks like a decent opportunity for ELECTRIC EDDY to get off the mark following a career-best effort when running on for third over slightly further at Newton Abbot. The six-year-old remains on the same rating and he may have too much for The Sad Shepherd, who would hold strong claims if bouncing back to the form of his penultimate third at Stratford. Ferrybridge and Kentucky Bluegrass are capable of being in the shake-up as well.

ELECTRIC EDDY seems to be building up to something for Nigel Twiston-Davies, producing his best effort when third at Newton Abbot last time (the winner scored again on his next outing), so he is taken to get off the mark this time around. The Sad Shepherd has returned to form on his last 2 starts and could be the biggest threat, ahead of Afta Party.

Loveable Rogue dug in to score over 1m1f on the turf course at Lingfield in May and she goes handicapping from a fair opening mark, but a chance is taken on PRINCE RASAM. Michael Bell's gelding has been disappointing since defeating subsequent Derby fourth Deira Mile on his debut last September, but a first-time hood is now employed and that could give him a boost. Others to note include Historic City and Character Testing.

LOVEABLE ROGUE has made a good start, beating a subsequent winner when opening her account at Lingfield, and could have more to offer still now handicapping. She gets the vote over Caelan and Chiefman who may bounce back returned to AW.

Most of these have something to prove but LOVEABLE ROGUE won at Lingfield last time and is open to more progress on her handicap debut.

The form of MAYS HILL's recent second over C&D has worked out extremely well, with the winner and the third scoring since, and Fergal O'Brien's mare may be able to follow suit, with Jack Hogan taking off a handy 3lb. Inspector Lynley might be the one to follow her home after filling the runner-up berth over further at Stratford. Easter Junction and Hazels Delight are others to consider.

A few in with a squeak but MAYS HILL found only an improved rival too strong over C&D last month, and with the winner that day going in again since, Fergal O'Brien's 6-y-o is fancied to open her account in this sphere at the expense of Hazels Delight, who makes her handicap debut having shaped as though she would come on for her return at Market Rasen recently. Inspector Lynley and Joker du Chenet can fight out third.

This might go to MAYS HILL, who split two next-time-out winners when second over C&D last month and has the same mark today.

Outclassed at Epsom last time, Law Of Average will be more at home in this company. However, he's 7lb higher than when winning on the turf at Lingfield in May and BIG TIME RASCAL is preferred. Further progress is expected from the three-year-old, who finished second in a maiden at Brighton to a subsequent handicap winner, and William Buick takes over the reins. Cloud King was in winning form on the all-weather back in March and may prove the pick of the remainder.

PORT HEDLAND is the only one of these without a recent run under his belt but he's nevertheless very interesting now handicapping off a potentially handy opening mark. His appeal will be enhanced if the market vibes are upbeat. Make It Easy will be a big threat if able to bounce back, while handicap-debutant Big Time Rascal and Law of Average are also players in this trappy affair.

Handicap debutant BIG TIME RASCAL looks favourably treated off 72. Law Of Average is feared most.

This represents an excellent opportunity for CAPO VATICANO, who ran well under a penalty at Hamilton having won at Chelmsford on her debut in April. The daughter of Calyx is 5lb clear of surprise Bath scorer Accrual on official ratings and she receives 5lb from the gelding. Angel Pass, a 130,000-euro puchase as a yearling, warrants a market check ahead of her racecourse bow.

CAPO VATICANO could have more to offer back on AW and she can make it 2-3. Bath-winner Accrual is respected, while Angel Pass is an interesting newcomer for Sir Mark Prescott.

Accrual's potential may not be enough to cope with CAPO VATICANO who sets a clear standard. Newcomer Angel Pass is feared most.

INVINCIBLE CROWN gave the impression he'd be winning at this level sooner rather than later when third over C&D a fortnight ago. Eighteencaratgold will likely appreciate this distance having shown bags of early pace over 6f here on his introduction, while Woodhay Whisper and Mister Mcgregor showed promise on debut, although both took a step backwards last time. Dubai Magic and Montbeliarde are newcomers to keep an eye on.

On the back of encouraging third-placed finishes at Chelmsford and latterly this C&D, INVINCIBLE CROWN is taken to make it third time lucky. He remains capable of better and should prove too strong for interesting newcomers Montbeliarde and Dubai Magic. The Richard Spencer-trained debutants I Follow Rivers and The Last Time both need a market check, while Woodhay Whisper will be a threat if able to get back on track.

Another chance is given to WOODHAY WHISPER. Invincible Crown and interesting newcomer Montbeliarde complete the shortlist.

NIGHT ON EARTH struggled to make an impact in the Dash at Epsom last month, but he was out of the handicap there and the C&D winner competes off a 5lb lower figure now back on an artificial surface. Invincible Speed continues to knock on the door and he might benefit from a drop in trip. Handicap debutant Blazes Boylan and Ready Freddie Go, who sports blinkers for the first time, are two others to consider.

A useful sprint handicap that can go to READY FREDDIE GO, who is 1-1 over C&D and shaped as if ready to score again at Redcar. This looks a bit easier and blinkers replace his usual cheekpieces. 3-y-o Invincible Speed should give it a good go from the front, while the busy Reigning Profit, another C&D winner, is weighted to strike.

It might be worth siding with James Tate's in-form 3yo INVINCIBLE SPEED, who could find more improvement back at this trip.

BESET looked an improved filly when fourth over C&D on her reappearance. That race has worked out well and she can feature in an open affair. Seek And Destroy also ran well when narrowly beaten at Chepstow, while cheekpieces are applied to the The King's General and better is expected. Bursinel is fitted with blinkers for his debut on turf and he's preferred to stablemate Ina Mina. Tajer is a newcomer to note.

SEEK AND DESTROY left the form of her low-key 2-y-o debut well behind when just touched off at Chepstow and, with the promise of better to come from this Sea The Stars filly, she looks the one to be on. Ina Mina shaped well on her recent introduction at Nottingham and is next on the list with this step up in trip likely to spark some improvement. The King's General and his stablemate Tajer, who is a likely-looking type on paper, are others to consider.

BOLDLY may still be a maiden after six starts, but he showed more than enough when beaten half a length into second over 1m6f at Thirsk last week to suggest he might be able to get off the mark on this occasion. That may be at the main expense of comfortable Kempton winner Goblet Of Fire, although course specialist Optician is four from four here so has to enter the equation as well.

It's easy to see OPTICIAN successfully defending his unbeaten C&D record back from a break. He topped off a wonderful winter with a solid effort in a much more competitive contest at Lingfield when last seen and can make it 5-5 here on his return. Goblet of Fire can go well again, with Boldly and Buxted Too completing the shortlist.

Having won three of his last four for Nigel Tinkler, GOBLET OF FIRE (nap) resumed the good work when returned to the Flat 19 days ago.

Following wins at Nottingham and Goodwood, Haymaker will look to deliver another knockout blow, with a further 3lb rise seemingly well within range. Katey Kontent, on target over C&D two starts ago, and Shagraan, who was a creditable fifth in the Palace Of Holyrood House at Royal Ascot, should make a bold fist of things, but ROHAAN gets the verdict. The son of Mayson has slipped to his last winning mark and there were signs of a return to form at Newmarket.

This looks ripe for the 3-y-o SHAGRAAN, who has shaped well on each of his three starts for this yard, not least when fifth in a big-field 5f Royal Ascot handicap recently. He is likely to appreciate this step back up in trip. Amazonian Dream is in good form and should be on the premises once again, while Katey Kontent is also strongly considered. Haymaker is bound to attract support in his hat-trick bid but this demands a clear personal-best from Hughie Morrison's charge.

The vote goes to SHAGRAAN (nap), who has strong form for his new stable. Katey Kontent is second choice.

A taking winner over 7f at Chelmsford in May, MAGIC GEM has tasted success here before too and a 4lb rise for that most recent victory may not be enough to prevent him from landing the double on the drop in trip. Due Date has scored on his last two C&D starts so he must enter calculations, along with Porfin, who is a key player based on the pick of his form.

Quite a few interesting ones for a class 6, with 3-y-o SOLDIER'S CLASS taken to get off the mark after a good showing at Leicester. Chelmsford-winner Magic Gem can go well again, while Revolucion is worth a look for a new trainer.

This could revolve around the two last-time-out winners in Due Date and MAGIC JEM, with preference for the latter.

Composite was a comfortable victor over 1m at Newmarket on Thursday and is interesting returned to further under a penalty, but it might pay to side with CRYSTAL MARINER. It was no surprise that he weakened at Sandown recently, having raced wide with no cover for much of the contest. That shouldn't be an issue here, though, and given that he retains plenty of potential, a 2lb ease in the ratings might underestimate him. Aerospace is another to consider.

The vote goes to dual course winner ANDALEEP, who will find this more palatable than the competitive, big-field handicaps he has contested at York the last twice. Composite is an obvious threat on the back of his decisive Newmarket success, while Wisper will have a chance if she puts her best foot forward and Crystal Mariner still has low mileage.

With the first-time headgear likely to prove beneficial, AEROSPACE could well build on his C&D effort. Composite is respected.

LIOSA had an excuse on turf at Bath last time and is given another chance to confirm the promise of her C&D reappearance fourth. The fact Savannah Smiles has been a regular winner lately counts for plenty at this level so she's second choice. A long absence means Coolagh Magic has been given a chance by the handicapper so he's one to monitor in the betting on his first outing for Anthony Carson.

The three-year-old's 6lb penalty is effectively only 5lb due to being 1lb out of the handicap last week, which could prove crucial, and he's taken to complete a quickfire double. Wahkan made a respectable handicap bow when fourth at Yarmouth and he may serve the most resistance to the selection, ahead of C&D scorer Adace.

WAHKAN showed improved form when fourth on his handicap debut at Yarmouth last time and, with further progress to come upped in trip, he can get off the mark with cheekpieces added. The main danger could be Adace, who ran well on all 3 visits to this course last season, with Rival also considered from his easing mark.

Unexposed 3yo WAHKAN looks set to build on his Yarmouth effort. Weston Court is second choice.

Although denied in his follow-up bid at Newbury last week, Nottingham scorer LIPSINK lost little in defeat with a close-up second. Mick Appleby's charge makes plenty of appeal racing off an unchanged rating and compensation could be imminent. Hello Zabeel shaped better than his fifth-placed finish here in May suggests and he is a viable alternative now 4lb below his last winning mark. Lahina Bay may chase the pair home.

A competitive finale in which preference is for LIPSINK, who has made a cracking start for Mick Appleby and remains feasibly treated on old form. The main danger may emerge from Hello Zabeel, who showed his form for the first time for current connections at this C&D recently and has the services of former champion jockey Oisin Murphy. Prince of Bel Lir and Lahina Bay are another couple to consider, too.
