Salaamaat |
(4) (11/2 -10%)11/2(-10%) | (4) Salaamaat 11/2, Again ran well after 10 weeks off when third of 8 in handicap at Chelmsford City (7f, 9/2) 6 days ago. She's only had a couple previous efforts on turf and should be competitive judged on recent efforts. Beaten seven times but hasn't been far away in any of her handicaps (6f-7f). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (2) (7/2 +30%) Organic |
7/2(+30%) | (2) Organic 7/2, 80/1, fared no better on only outing for Harry Eustace when eighth of 9 in maiden at Southwell (8.1f) in January. Now back with her former handler ahead of this handicap/turf debut and may well prove a different proposition. Enters handicaps for an in-form trainer who also runs fellow handicap newcomer Wahkan. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (5/1 +58%) Shaws Phoenix |
5/1(+58%) | (8) Shaws Phoenix 5/1, 16/1, wasn't seen to best effect making all-weather debut when seventh of 11 in handicap at Kempton (8f) 3 weeks ago, though didn't look the easiest of rides (raced freely). Cheekpieces on 1st time. 0-8 but went close here in April and didn't get much luck last time; cheekpieces added. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (12/1 -20%) Doha Bu Thaila |
12/1(-20%) | (3) Doha Bu Thaila 12/1, 10/1, might have needed the run after 5 months off when sixth of 10 in maiden at Lingfield (9f, good to firm) just over 2 weeks ago. Back down in trip. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Makes handicap debut. Like a few in here, she's open to improvement having earned a mark; tries cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (28/1 -300%) Wahkan |
28/1(-300%) | (5) Wahkan 28/1, Probably needed the run after 3 months off when eighth of 12 in maiden (50/1) at Southwell (7.1f) 3 months ago. Likely to see him in a better light now entering low-grade handicaps. Modest so far but goes into handicaps with his yard having winners. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (80/1 -1233%) Teddy Brown |
80/1(-1233%) | (6) Teddy Brown 80/1, Failed to repeat previous effort on softer ground than previously when seventh of 13 in handicap (10/3) at Leicester (7f, soft) just over 2 weeks ago, slowly away. Must bounce back. Heavy ground an excuse last time and was bang there in his two previous handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (11) (400/1 -13233%) Rinnovati |
400/1(-13233%) | (11) Rinnovati 400/1, 5/2 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, creditable second of 10 in handicap at Lingfield (7f, AW) 8 days ago, hanging left from 2f out. Expected to be bang there in her current mood. Consistent in three handicaps for her current yard and brings solid claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (150/1 -1150%) Midnight Missile |
150/1(-1150%) | (7) Midnight Missile 150/1, 150/1, broke on terms for a change but was always behind when last of 11 in minor event at Doncaster (8f, good) 12 days ago. Cheekpieces on for 1st time. Makes handicap debut. Handicaps are now a better option and headgear is added. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (150/1 -1150%) She Is A Keeper |
150/1(-1150%) | (1) She Is A Keeper 150/1, 3/1 and visored for 1st time, possibly unsuited by conditions when fifth of 8 in claimer at Leicester (7f, soft) just over 2 weeks ago. Blinkers back on. Nursery winner but it's been poor stuff since returning from a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (400/1 -1900%) Aussie Star |
400/1(-1900%) | (9) Aussie Star 400/1, 50/1, failed to improve for the switch to handicaps when ninth of 10 at Lingfield (9f, good) 20 days ago. Down in trip. Failed to raise her modest profile when beating one home on handicap debut at Lingfield. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
SALAAMAAT has shown promise when placing on each of her last two starts on the all-weather, and it may be the switch back to turf that unlocks the necessary improvement to see her get off the mark. Wahkan must be of interest on handicap debut for in-form connections, while Rinnovati has been running with plenty of credit lately without getting her head in front. Organic and She Is A Keeper are capable of being in the shake-up as well.
A host in with chances but bottom-weight RINNOVATI has been knocking at the door in handicaps this year and this looks a good opportunity for her to go one better than at Lingfield last week. George Boughey saddles a couple of potential improvers heading into handicaps in Organic and Wahkan, so they rate as obvious dangers, with Salaamaat also worth a mention back on turf.
Preference is for SALAAMAAT ahead of Rinnovati, with both having been in form since their attentions were turned to handicaps.

1st (2) (11/10 +33%) Pyffo |
11/10(+33%) | (2) Pyffo 11/10, Bumper winner who benefited from a more positive ride when scoring easily in a Market Rasen novice hurdle (20.6f) in March before an excellent second back in handicap company at Warwick. Proved to be a disappointment when turned over at short odds at Hereford last time but can bounce back. Player on form of Market Rasen win or handicap second next time; wild side evident latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (17/2 -113%) Briefly |
17/2(-113%) | (6) Briefly 17/2, Placed twice from 3 starts in bumpers and ran to a similar level as on hurdling debut when third in 13-runner novice at this course (17.7f, good) last month. Up in trip. Not beaten by the step up to 2m2f when third here latest; even longer trip looks a plus. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (150/1 -500%) Lord Chips |
150/1(-500%) | (4) Lord Chips 150/1, Clovis Du Berlais gelding. Dam multiple point winner. Wears tongue strap. Market for clues. Dam and granddam both won plenty of points; may be one for later on; tongue tied on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (150/1 -16384%) Gwash |
150/1(-16384%) | (1) Gwash 150/1, Point winner and also second in a bumper. Much improved from hurdling debut when landing a 19f Warwick maiden in April and would have defied a penalty at Uttoxeter but for a late lapse in concentration (in control when fell last). Fancied to gain compensation. Warwick winner who may have followed up without a final-flight fall latest; shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (350/1 -180%) Highway Hero |
350/1(-180%) | (3) Highway Hero 350/1, Failed to meet expectations in cheekpieces and tongue strap switched to an Exeter bumper in March 2023 on only outing for H. Ryall. Winning pointer but no form in latest season. Poor 2023-24 season in British points; beaten 76l in pointing bumper on sole rules outing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (400/1 -100%) Planxty |
400/1(-100%) | (5) Planxty 400/1, No form on Flat in 2022 for John Gallagher so makes little appeal on this switch to hurdling. Poor Flat maiden in 2022; absent since; not much encouragement in pedigree for hurdling. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
The two penalised winners Pyffo and GWASH are the ones to concentrate on, with slight preference for the latter. The Fergal O'Brien-trained inmate looked set to double his tally at Uttoxeter last month, but for falling at the final flight. Compensation could await the five-year-old, although the aforementioned Pyffo is unlikely to be far behind given his good run of form in recent months. Any market support for Lord Chips on his debut would be interesting.
GWASH would have followed up his Warwick win but for a late lapse in concentration at Uttoxeter last month and is narrowly preferred to Pyffo, who has a bit to prove after being turned over at short odds on his most recent outing at Hereford. Briefly can prove clear best of the rest.
Another step up in trip could see BRIEFLY improve at an accelerated rate and master the penalised pair Gwash and Pyffo.

1st (10) (33/1 -136%) Sky Safari |
33/1(-136%) | (10) Sky Safari 33/1, Zoustar filly. Dam, 1½m winner, closely related to very smart winner up to 13.4f Western Hymn. Betting should guide. Could be one for longer trips later on and is best watched unless market is persuasive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (11/2 +31%) Santa Croce |
11/2(+31%) | (8) Santa Croce 11/2, Pivotal filly. Sister to smart 5f/6f winner Duke of Firenze and useful 6f winner Duke Cosimo. Dam Fillies' Mile and Coronation Stakes winner. 28/1, green when sixth of 9 in maiden at Salisbury (7f, good to firm) on debut. Off 9 months. Sure to do better. Ran green in good race on sole 2yo run and looks a likely improver on her return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (3/1 +40%) Inherit |
3/1(+40%) | (5) Inherit 3/1, Kingman filly. Dam winner up to 1¼m (won Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf, and 2-y-o 7f winner) who stayed 1½m. Definite signs of ability when seventh of 9 in a warm fillies' maiden at Sandown (7f, good to soft) on debut. Off 9 months. Will improve. Has a striking pedigree but she didn't achieve much over 7f in her sole 2yo run (18-1). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (14) (50/1 -100%) Tianita |
50/1(-100%) | (14) Tianita 50/1, Iffraaj filly. Dam, 8.3f-1½m winner, sister to smart 1½m-2m winner Blakeney Point. Tongue strap on, modest form when sixth of 8 in maiden at Nottingham (8.3f, good, 80/1) on debut 22 days ago. 80-1 on her Nottingham debut (8.3f, good) last month and was a well-held sixth of eight. |

Highly respected on debut. 350,000gns yearling; lots to like on paper and she needs a close look on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (250/1 -2400%) Bernalda |
250/1(-2400%) | (2) Bernalda 250/1, Frankel filly. Dam, 7f winner (Chartwell Stakes and also at 2 yrs), sister to smart 7f winner Double Or Bubble. One to note. Well-bred filly with speed and stamina in her pedigree and market should guide on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (100/1 -3233%) American Fashion |
100/1(-3233%) | (1) American Fashion 100/1, 340,000 gns yearling, Starspangledbanner filly. Dam, 6f winner, half-sister to very smart winner up to 1m (stayed 1¼m) Xtension. Interesting newcomer. 340,000gns yearling; interesting newcomer for yard with 33% record in maidens this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (13) (300/1 -5900%) Swiss Cabaret |
300/1(-5900%) | (13) Swiss Cabaret 300/1, Showcasing filly. Closely related to useful 1m winner Swiss Knight, and half-sister to useful 2-y-o 5f winner Poetry and 2-y-o 6f winner Poet. Dam, 5f/6f winner (including at 2 yrs), half-sister to smart winner up to 6f Swiss Spirit. Interesting newcomer. One of two well-bred newcomers for the Gosdens and she needs watching in market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (100/1 -100%) My Awele |
100/1(-100%) | (7) My Awele 100/1, 70,000 gns 2-y-o, U S Navy Flag filly. Half-sister to French 1m-1¼m winner Maritot and useful winner up to 7f Yorkshire. Dam unraced half-sister to useful 7f/1m winner Junia Tepzia. 70,000gns 2yo; yard has had a well-backed 3yo maiden winner this month; market informative. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (11) (100/1 -525%) Solo Solataire |
100/1(-525%) | (11) Solo Solataire 100/1, €190,000 yearling, Violence filly. Closely related to French 2-y-o 7f winner D'oro Diva, and half-sister to several winners, including 9.4f/1¼m winner Caponata. Well held in three runs in US and is probably best watched on her British/stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (4) (400/1 -2400%) Hey Big Spender |
400/1(-2400%) | (4) Hey Big Spender 400/1, Twice-raced filly. Better effort when ninth of 11 in maiden at Bath (8f, good) 28 days ago. From leading yard but has finished in rear in two 1m maidens this spring. |

300/1(-500%) | (9) Shy Nala 300/1, Postponed filly. Half-sister to several winners, including useful winner up to 1m Shyron and useful 6f-1m winner Farhh To Shy. Dam 2-y-o 5.5f/6f winner. 50/1, last of 8 in maiden at this course (8f, good to firm) on debut 50 days ago. 50-1 on debut here (1m) in April and she finished a tailed-off last of eight. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (3) (200/1 -506%) Hallie Angel |
200/1(-506%) | (3) Hallie Angel 200/1, Harry Angel filly. Half-sister to several winners, notably smart 6f winner Staxton. Dam 12.4f winner. 33/1, eighth of 12 in novice at Kempton (7f) on debut 21 days ago. 33-1 at Kempton (7f) last month and never got involved before finishing eighth of 12. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
A 350,000gns purchase as a yearling, SULALA can go some way to repaying that price tag by scoring on debut in this open affair. A well-bred daughter of Siyouni, Roger Varian's filly should know her job first time out and she gets the vote ahead of fellow debutant American Fashion, who is related to a whole host of winners. A daughter of Frankel and out of the Group 3 winner Mix And Mingle, Bernalda is another to consider, along with Inherit and Santa Croce, who are both open to improvement.
Sir Michael Stoute saddles a pair of superbly-bred Cheveley Park fillies in INHERIT and Santa Croce, who both showed ability on their debut in the autumn, and both can be expected to show a lot more this year, the former shading the vote under Ryan Moore. There are plenty of interesting newcomers in opposition, headed by Swiss Cabaret and Sulala.
The market should be informative but at this stage the vote goes to Roger Varian's newcomer SULALA, who cost 350,000gns as a yearling.

1st (6) (12/1 +52%) Kitesurfer |
12/1(+52%) | (6) Kitesurfer 12/1, Won juvenile hurdle on his only race in France back in May 2022 and produced best effort so far on these shores when fourth of 7 in handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter (2½m, heavy) in November. Disappointed twice thereafter, latterly on back of a wind op at Kempton in February. Mark has never been lower, but not sure a stayers' trip will help him to capitalise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (14/1 -155%) Sea The Clouds |
14/1(-155%) | (2) Sea The Clouds 14/1, Landed back-to-back handicap hurdles at Worcester/Warwick last summer without looking entirely straightforward. Disappointing display when last of 6 on final outing at Wetherby (3m) in October and whilst absent since, he has gone well fresh previously. Tongue strap back on. Warwick winner over nearly 3m1f last September (good); still pretty unexposed as a stayer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (9/4 -29%) Paddy De Pole |
9/4(-29%) | (1) Paddy De Pole 9/4, Lightly-raced sort who has improved plenty in handicaps in recent months, defying another small rise in the weights when bringing up the hat-trick at Hereford (19.7f) 4 weeks ago. Handicapper applies further pressure but he's a big player once more. 3-3 in good-ground handicaps since April (2-2 for today's rider); new trip and up 9lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (11/4 -22%) Earth King |
11/4(-22%) | (3) Earth King 11/4, Went the wrong way over fences last season but his mark tumbled as a result and he capitalised returned to timber (also fitted with cheekpieces) when winning 5-runner C&D handicap 4 weeks ago. That wasn't a wholly convincing display but possibilities with a repeat. C&D 0-120 winner on return to hurdles latest; cheekpieces that helped then are retained. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (125/1 -3471%) Thirtyfour Thirty |
125/1(-3471%) | (4) Thirtyfour Thirty 125/1, Fairly useful bumper winner who found some improvement over hurdles when successful here (17.7f) in December. Not in same form next 2 starts but firmly back on track of late, again finding only one too good at Warwick (26f) 13 days ago. Visor replaces cheekpieces now and he's of interest. Half-length second the last twice (one C&D, good); back up the weights without winning. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (350/1 -2400%) Presenting Yeats |
350/1(-2400%) | (5) Presenting Yeats 350/1, Temperamental sort who ran well below his best on the back of some very slow starts towards the end of last summer (often reluctant). Mark has eased ahead of return/yard debut and he's capable of playing a part if putting his best foot forward. Can be reluctant/race lazily, but absence since September is as much of a worry this time. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
The improving Paddy De Pole is certain to prove popular after securing wins at Plumpton, Wincanton and Hereford in recent months. The six-year-old warrants respect in his bid for a four-timer, but a further 9lb rise and marked step up in distance could prove his undoing. Last month's C&D winner EARTH KING could be the one, with a 5lb rise for that ready triumph here looking on the lenient side. A first-time visor should see Thirtyfour Thirty go well too.
PADDY DE POLE made little fuss of bringing up a hat-trick of handicap hurdle victories at Hereford 4 weeks ago and, still unexposed at this sort of trip, he could well be up to defying the handicapper again and completing the 4-timer. Thirtyfour Thirty rates the chief threat ahead of Earth King.
Unless there's significant rain, PADDY DE POLE can make light of a 9lb rise and step up to 3m2f, ahead of C&D scorer Earth King.

(5) (8/1 -100%)8/1(-100%) | (5) Lilkian 8/1, Good second of 10 in handicap at Lingfield (6f, AW, 11/1) 15 days ago. Very much one to consider. Good latest effort but the AW is more his scene and this lower turf mark is justified. |

White Mist |
(6) (10/1 -67%)10/1(-67%) | (6) White Mist 10/1, Latest win at Kempton in February. Seventh of 10 in handicap at Bath (5.7f, good, 25/1) 19 days ago so needs to get back on track. Best form has been on the AW; travelled well but stopped quickly last time at Bath. |

1st (2) (10/11 +70%) Five Winds |
10/11(+70%) | (2) Five Winds 10/11, Good third of 13 in handicap at Leicester (6f, good) 32 days ago. That form has been franked so she has to be taken seriously eased 1 lb with few miles still on the clock. Consistent since switched to handicaps, latterly when dropped back to sprinting. |

2nd (3) (22/1 -450%) Mokaatil |
22/1(-450%) | (3) Mokaatil 22/1, Respectable third of 8 in handicap at Brighton (5.3f, good to soft, 10/3) 15 days ago. In the mix with cheekpieces back on. Hit the frame behind a red-hot filly last time at Brighton; thereabouts. |

3rd (4) (25/1 -317%) Twayblade |
25/1(-317%) | (4) Twayblade 25/1, C&D winner. 12/1, last of 11 in handicap at Doncaster (6f, good to firm) 11 days ago. Now below last winning mark so can't be totally discounted. Dual C&D winner but this season isn't going so well and was particularly poor last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (50/1 -1011%) Annie Law |
50/1(-1011%) | (1) Annie Law 50/1, Failed to come on from return when only seventh of 11 in handicap (9/2) at Doncaster (6f, good to firm) 11 days ago. Needs to step forward. Not been at her best in either run this season but likely to turn a corner at some point. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
This can go the way of unexposed FIVE WINDS, who ran arguably a career-best when placed at Leicester last month. A 1lb drop for that effort could prove very lenient, and Jack Jones' filly may have too much for the veteran Mokaatil, and last year's narrow second Lilkian, who returns off 5lb lower on this occasion. A highly progressive sort on the all-weather this year, White Mist has yet to put it together on turf but is dangerous to ignore.
FIVE WINDS signalled she is ready to oper her account when a good third at Leicester last time out so gets the vote with that form working out well. Both Lilkian and Mokaatil arrive in good nick too so appeal as the duo to chase home Jack Jones' low-mileage Adaay filly in that order.
The suggestion is FIVE WINDS who coped fine with the return to sprinting when chasing home in-form opposition at Leicester.

11/4(+54%) | (7) Belgarum 11/4, Placed twice over hurdles in 2022/23 but struggled over fences last season. However, step back in the right direction after a wind op when third at Newton Abbot 2 weeks ago and less testing conditions here should suit. Back to some form after wind surgery when third latest; respected of a handy mark.. |

2nd (1) (40/1 -1900%) Call Off The Dogs |
40/1(-1900%) | (1) Call Off The Dogs 40/1, Missed whole of last year and has gradually recaptured his best this spring, resuming winning ways off a career-low mark here (17.8f) before following up over C&D 17 days ago, knuckling down well to overcome a late error. Should make a bold bid for the hat-trick up 4 lb. At the top of his game at present and holds strong claims in his hat-trick bid up 4lb.. |

5th (10) (400/1 -1112%) Milton Boy |
400/1(-1112%) | (10) Milton Boy 400/1, Yet to show any ability, including in handicaps. 7 lb out of the weights on chase bow. Low-level hurdler; has plenty to prove on chase debut from out of the weights.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (300/1 -5355%) Millies Mite |
300/1(-5355%) | (8) Millies Mite 300/1, Seemed suited by the switch to prominent tactics when off the mark at the twenty-seventh attempt at this C&D (good to firm) in April. Backed that up with good second over same C&D last month and should go well again. Has run well over C&D the last twice and another bold showing looks on the cards.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (125/1 -793%) Miss Fedora |
125/1(-793%) | (4) Miss Fedora 125/1, Opened her account over hurdles here in November and got back on track to some degree when fourth of 9 there on chasing debut last month. Failed to build on that next time but might have found that run coming too soon. Still early days over fences but others hold more pressing claims.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
A 4lb rise in the ratings for CALL OFF THE DOGS' cosy C&D triumph here last time out looks more than workable. The gelded son of Bienamado must hold every chance of recording a hat-trick at this venue and he's hard to oppose in his current mood. The Karen Jewell-trained Millies Mite wasn't disgraced when runner-up to a resurgent rival over track and trip last month and she may put up most resistance to the selection, ahead of Belgarum.
It could be worth chancing PRINCESS MIDNIGHT, who returns on a winning mark and can go well fresh. Hat-trick-seeking Call Off The Dogs is the obvious threat, with the in-form Millies Mite best of the others.
Hat-trick seeker CALL OFF THE DOGS looks to have been found an inviting opportunity. Belgarum can chase him home.

(6) (10/1 +17%)10/1(+17%) | (6) Churchill Rose 10/1, C&D winner. 9/2, sixth of 8 in handicap at Doncaster (1½m, good) 12 days ago. Visor on first time. Ran creditably on last two starts but needs a bit extra in today's different headgear. |

1st (2) (5/6 +25%) Baltic |
5/6(+25%) | (2) Baltic 5/6, A different proposition since equipped with cheekpieces and stepped up to 1½m, adding to last autumn's Pontefract handicap debut success when comfortably seeing off 7 rivals on his Doncaster reappearance. A 7 lb rise won't prevent him making a bold bid for the hat-trick under Ryan Moore. On a hat-trick; this slightly shorter trip is a small concern but he can still do better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (7/2 +30%) Gold Aura |
7/2(+30%) | (3) Gold Aura 7/2, Creditable placed efforts on her last 5 starts (including here), shaping well when faring best of those held up at Windsor and Kempton on her last 2 starts. Should go well again. 0-14 but she's a reliable type who has form figures of 32423332 for her current yard. |

3rd (7) (20/1 -264%) Eljaytee |
20/1(-264%) | (7) Eljaytee 20/1, Course winner. Career best when winning 9-runner handicap at Brighton (1¼m, good to soft, 11/2) 15 days ago by ¾ length from Kojin. Should remain very competitive up 2 lb. 1m2f wins from off the pace at Yarmouth (soft) in April 2023 and Brighton 15 days ago. |

4th (1) (20/1 -25%) Polemon |
20/1(-25%) | (1) Polemon 20/1, Fair form when runner-up twice in AW novice events to start 2023 but has struggled more recently, faring no better switched to turf after wind surgery at Doncaster 12 days ago. This a drop in class but it's not enough to tempt. No impact lately; had wind surgery after penultimate start and bled from the nose latest. |

6th (5) (80/1 -1233%) Kojin |
80/1(-1233%) | (5) Kojin 80/1, Creditable ¾-length second of 9 to reopposing Eljaytee in handicap at Brighton (1¼m, good to soft, 5/2) 15 days ago. Not taken lightly. Placed at Bath and Brighton (both 1m2f on good) last two outings; more to prove on soft. |

7th (4) (400/1 -4900%) Eloped |
400/1(-4900%) | (4) Eloped 400/1, Latest win at Wolverhampton (1½m) in January. 5/1, creditable third of 7 over C&D (good to soft) 39 days ago, running on. Close third of seven over C&D (good) on latest start, which was only her third run on turf. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
BALTIC resumed his progress on his seasonal bow with a ready victory at Doncaster last month. A 7lb rise for that triumph is unlikely to be the ceiling for this colt and a hat-trick could be in the offing. The biggest threat may emerge from fellow in-form rival Kojin, who races off the same mark as his close-up second at Brighton in May, while C&D winner Churchill Rose looks the type to benefit from the fitting of a first-time visor.
GOLD AURA has been better than the result on her last 2 starts and is taken to gain reward for her consistency. The handicapper hasn't missed Baltic after his Doncaster success but Harry Charlton's progressive sort could easily have more to offer and is feared most ahead of recent Brighton 1-2 Eljaytee and Kojin.
Having seemingly found another gear in the last half furlong at Doncaster, BALTIC (nap) looks a standout in terms of potential.

10th (10) (350/1 -430%) Yesnosorry |
350/1(-430%) | (10) Yesnosorry 350/1, Pulled up all 3 starts in chases and now reverts to hurdles. Pulled up on three latest starts over fences at up to 2m6f; new trip can't rate a plus. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
NO MORE NO produced a bit of a shock when scoring by just over two lengths on his handicap debut over 2m6f at Stratford last month and he takes a further step up in trip. The son of Alkaadhem could have plenty more to offer and he looks the one to beat again. Dear Ralphy wasn't beaten far into second over track and trip last time and he should go well off an unchanged mark, while No Worries could better his latest fourth at Ludlow.
The vote goes to HE IS A CRACKER, who should be spot on following his encouraging reappearance at Warwick. Dear Ralphy and No More No head the opposition.
Back on the mark of last autumn's C&D chase win, HE IS A CRACKER (nap) is taken ahead of breakthrough Stratford scorer No More No.

5th (8) (14/1 -27%) Bold Ribb |
14/1(-27%) | (8) Bold Ribb 14/1, Career best when winning 11-runner handicap (7/2) at Lingfield (10f, AW). Off 7 months. Cheekpieces back on. Will probably strip fitter for this return but he's no forlorn hope. Impressive on the AW when last seen in October; the absence has to be offputting. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Having proved far more competitive when runner-up at Sandown last month, compensation could await MAGIC MEMORIES in these calmer waters. The four-year-old is off just a 1lb higher rating and he edges the vote over Leuven Power. The Roger Varian-trained gelding showed up well on his fifth-placed return at Redcar in May and he's entitled to build on that. Baltimore Boy and Bold Ribb are also noted in an open event.
NAP HAND, not for the first time, shaped better than the result at Kempton on return and, with few miles on the clock, he's worth a chance to improve past his current mark. Magic Memories is a big danger on the back of a positive effort at Sandown and Leuven Power isn't without hope.
It was at Kempton where BALTIMORE BOY ran so well last time but he's just as good on turf. Leuven Power is next best.

350/1(-1650%) | (5) Toad Of Toad Hall 350/1, Successful twice over fences here last year but he has been well below par on his last three outings, only fifth of seven over C&D 17 days ago. 4 lb out of the handicap too so others appeal more. 2-4 over this C&D, albeit flopping here latest; never raced in a class 4 handicap before. |

6th (6) (300/1 -500%) Always Force It |
300/1(-500%) | (6) Always Force It 300/1, Shaped well in pair of handicap hurdles for Gavin Cromwell last autumn but no show in 5 starts for present yard, including on his chasing debut at Worcester 11 days ago. Also 9 lb "wrong" in the weights. Yet to rediscover peak Irish form; new trip and 7lb out of the weights. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
VILLAGE MASTER made most of the running when victorious by four lengths in a class 5 event at Cartmel on his latest outing and he was hit with a 9lb rise. Warren Greatrex's five-year-old has an unbeaten record over fences in four starts and he could prove very difficult to beat. Jigginstown King finished third in a stronger contest than this over 3m5f at Fakenham and the drop in trip shouldn't pose him any problems, while Masterdream makes most appeal of the remainder.
VILLAGE MASTER hasn't looked back since sent over fences and is fancied to go 5-5 in this sphere despite taking a 9 lb rise for his most recent success at Cartmel. Course scorer Jigginstown King appeals as the one to chase home Warren Greatrex's improver ahead of fencing newcomer Masterdream.
The thriving VILLAGE MASTER can make it 5-5 over fences barring a destructive pace battle with Jigginstown King.

Keen Interest posted his best effort since joining Alice Haynes in February when hitting the frame in a handicap at Bath last month. The son of Kodiac should be involved at the business end now pitched into classified company, but marginal preference is for DASHING DONKEY. The three-year-old was narrowly denied over C&D on his penultimate start and a reproduction of that performance may suffice. Split Elevens and Darker also warrant consideration.
DASHING DONKEY was narrowly denied over C&D on his penultimate start and could bounce back dropped in class here. Keen Interest is a player, while Tenyatta could be involved with a better start.
This looks tricky. KEEN INTEREST was a respectable third on soft at Bath last time and has claims if she can build on that.

Being eased 3 lb can only help, too. 2m5f Kempton hurdle winner in February 2023; interesting back in a Class 5.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (15/2 -150%) Nadim |
15/2(-150%) | (2) Nadim 15/2, Won 3 times for Milton Harris last summer. Ran out on his Ludlow reappearance but on his best behaviour when a creditable third at Huntingdon 3 weeks ago (final start for Richard Hawker). Contender if in the mood. Should play his part on stable debut after a solid third last time.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (15/8 +6%) Amalfi Bay |
15/8(+6%) | (6) Amalfi Bay 15/8, Fair Flat winner who was runner-up for the second time over hurdles when going down by a length at Stratford (18.5f) 34 days ago, getting going late. Might have needed that after 10 weeks off and good shout here. Appreciated the better ground when 2nd over this trip at Stratford (good); good chance.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (17/2 -6%) State Of Bliss |
17/2(-6%) | (5) State Of Bliss 17/2, Won a 4-runner maiden hurdle at Fakenham last June but has largely found in tough in handicap company since, fading into fifth back at Fakenham 10 days ago. Has yet to make an impact in handicaps as a hurdler but has each-way claims.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (17/2 -31%) Tara Iti |
17/2(-31%) | (4) Tara Iti 17/2, Course winner but hinted at a quirky side when a below-form seventh of 12 here 4 weeks ago. Probably not one for maximum faith but he is well treated if bouncing back to anywhere near his best. On a good mark but has stamina to prove over this longer trip.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (11/1 +21%) Outback Frontiers |
11/1(+21%) | (7) Outback Frontiers 11/1, Showed some ability remains on his second outing back from a long absence when fourth of 10 at Hereford (2m, good to soft) 19 days ago. Not yet fully exposed but still to convince he stays this far.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (200/1 -203%) Mawlood |
200/1(-203%) | (10) Mawlood 200/1, Poor maiden who has raced exclusively over fences in the last couple of years. Easy to look elsewhere. 8lb wrong here and it's easy to look elsewhere.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (250/1 -1150%) Hesbehindyou |
250/1(-1150%) | (8) Hesbehindyou 250/1, Still a maiden and absent since finishing sixth of 12 over a slightly longer trip here 13 months ago. Lightly raced 8yo maiden; with the step back in trip a concern, others make more appeal.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (350/1 -961%) Den The Diva |
350/1(-961%) | (9) Den The Diva 350/1, Posted much her best effort of late when third of 10 over C&D last month but no shock when she wasn't in anything like the same form at Market Rasen since. Inconsistent and has plenty to prove from out of the weights. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Not beaten far at Stratford last time out, AMALFI BAY sets the standard on recent form and can get off the mark over hurdles at the sixth time of asking. Nadim showed up well on his most recent outing when placed at Huntingdon and he is of interest on his first run for new connections, while Beat The Heat and Sami Bear are expected to be thereabouts as well.
AMALFI BAY is taken to go one better than in similar company at Stratford last month. Nadim is another who arrives on the back of a good placed effort and is second choice ahead of Tara Iti, who wasn't at his best last time but is well handicapped if on a going day.
Nadim can make his presence felt on stable debut but preference is for AMALFI BAY who was a solid second over this trip last time.

1st (6) (16/5 +29%) Stockpyle |
16/5(+29%) | (6) Stockpyle 16/5, Eleven runs since last win in 2022. Creditable second of 10 in handicap (11/4) at this course (7f) 7 days ago. Went very close here last week and is a big player off the same mark (due to go up 2lb). |

66/1(-450%) | (11) Capuchinero 66/1, Good third of 7 in handicap at this C&D (20/1) 14 days ago under this rider. Not taken lightly. Opposable on balance for all she finished just behind Ivasecret over C&D two weeks ago. |

50/1(-456%) | (4) Francesi 50/1, One win from 24 Flat runs. 11/2, fifth of 10 in handicap at this course (7f) 7 days ago, unsuited by drop in trip. Can give a good account back up in distance. Has bigger run in him back over 1m this evening. |

9th (1) (28/1 -300%) Miss Dolly Rocker |
28/1(-300%) | (1) Miss Dolly Rocker 28/1, C&D winner. 13/2 and hooded for 1st time, respectable sixth of 12 in handicap at this C&D 21 days ago, nearest finish. Has good chance on pick of form. Has plenty to recommend her back in Class 5 company. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) (40/1 -344%) L'argent |
40/1(-344%) | (8) L'argent 40/1, 4/1, creditable second of 9 in handicap at Newcastle (8f), slowly away. Off 111 days. Can give a good account. He's back from a break and a few others are higher on the list. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (3) (100/1 -1011%) Quiet Sea |
100/1(-1011%) | (3) Quiet Sea 100/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 16/1, first run since leaving Harry & Roger Charlton when sixth of 13 in novice at Windsor (8.1f, heavy) 37 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Should progress. Drawn widest but market revealing on handicap debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
STOCKPYLE was only beaten a neck into second in a similar event over 7f here a week ago and the five-year-old is hard to oppose off the same mark. That said, Ivasecret also hit the crossbar at this venue on his most recent outing and could give the selection plenty to think about. Others to note are L'Argent, Capuchinero and Red Hat Eagle.
RED HAT EAGLE went close to making a winning return at Chelmsford before shaping much better than the bare result at Thirsk, and he remains of strong interest. Miss Dolly Rocker has a good record here and she shaped well after a bad start when sixth over C&D 3 weeks ago, while Quiet Sea is open to improvement now handicapping.
The suspicion remains that there are more races to be won with RED HAT EAGLE, particularly on AW.

40/1(-21%) | (6) No Mean Feat 40/1, Pulled up sole start in points and just poor form over hurdles. Saddle slipped on debut for this yard but he has a lot to prove. Has made little impact since switching to handicaps; others make more appeal.. |

3rd (2) (4/1 -100%) Blow Your Horn |
4/1(-100%) | (2) Blow Your Horn 4/1, Fairly useful stayer on the Flat and is shaping up well now, producing his best effort in this sphere when second in a handicap at Warwick (travelled strongly) last time. Capable of going one better. Went close in the new headgear on handicap hurdle debut; up 2lb but shouldn't be far away.. |

New yard puts blinkers back on. Interesting. Makes stable debut; probably needs more for the win off current mark, but respected.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Runner-up on each of his last three starts, including at Uttoxeter last month behind one who has gone in again since, EARTH CRY deserves a change in luck and this unique track may well see him at his very best. Neil Mulholland's charge is narrowly preferred to Warwick second Blow Your Horn, as well as Tip Top Tonto, who has strong claims on the form of his penultimate effort at Fakenham.
BLOW YOUR HORN benefited from the refitting of cheekpieces when a strong-travelling second at Warwick last time and, in what appears to be a thin race, he's fancied to go one better at the possible expense of Earth Cry. Tip Top Tonto is no forlorn hope on debut for a new stable.
Blow Your Horn is feared but EARTH CRY chased home a subsequent winner last time and looks the one to side with.

(7) (6/1 +63%)6/1(+63%) | (7) Neandra 6/1, 20/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, first run since leaving Andrew Balding when ninth of 14 in claimer at Dundalk (12f) in December, racing off the pace and never dangerous. Absent since and betting may prove the best guide here. Two wins at three for Andrew Balding at Lingfield, failed to find her best form last year. |

Santa Catarina |
(12) (25/1 -25%)25/1(-25%) | (12) Santa Catarina 25/1, Modest mare. Creditable sixth of 17 in handicap (28/1) at Tipperary (12.5f, soft) 14 days ago, pushed along under 2f out and plugging on. Others make much more appeal. Unplaced in two handicaps this season, needs to improve on last year's claiming-race form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (6) (33/1 -136%) Hasten Slowly |
33/1(-136%) | (6) Hasten Slowly 33/1, Below form on each of her last 2 starts on AW earlier this year and well held back from 11-week break when fifteenth of 16 in handicap at Fairyhouse (10f, good to soft) 13 days ago. Needs to leave that well behind to figure. Finished in rear in a Fairyhouse handicap in which French Company was fourth, tough task. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (9/2 +25%) French Company |
9/2(+25%) | (2) French Company 9/2, Fair gelding. Respectable fourth of 16 in handicap at Fairyhouse (10f, good to soft, 18/1) 13 days ago, needing stiffer test. This rates more suitable down in class and booking of Keane a plus. Noted staying on in fourth over 1m2f at Fairyhouse, definite chance at these weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (12/1 +0%) Magnetic North |
12/1(+0%) | (3) Magnetic North 12/1, Fairly useful gelding. C&D winner. Eleventh of 13 in claimer (25/1) at Dundalk (8f). Off 7 months. Significantly back up in trip. First run for yard after leaving James McAuley. Visor back on. Did well in claiming races last year, worth considering despite off-putting form figures. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (11/4 -10%) Kendancer |
11/4(-10%) | (8) Kendancer 11/4, Fairly useful gelding. Didn't need to improve to win 10-runner claiming hurdle (15/8) at this course (16.4f, soft) 13 days ago, shaken up to assert. Possibilities returned to this sphere. Engaged 4.45 Sligo Tuesday. Won a recent claiming hurdle at Clonmel with plenty to spare, declared for Sligo Tuesday. |

5th (1) (11/2 +45%) Pinball Wizard |
11/2(+45%) | (1) Pinball Wizard 11/2, Fair gelding. Thirteen runs since last win in 2023. 17/2, respectable fourth of 16 in handicap at Gowran (9.4f, good to soft) 9 days ago. Back up in trip. Suited by good ground, in fair form recently but others better suited by race conditions. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (13) (9/1 -125%) Roderick |
9/1(-125%) | (13) Roderick 9/1, Fair gelding. Blinkered for 1st time, below form third of 10 in claimer at Tipperary (7.1f, heavy, 9/2) 15 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Not taken lightly. 7f looked inadequate at Tipperary last time but this trip may stretch his stamina. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (14/1 +30%) Neddies Boy |
14/1(+30%) | (4) Neddies Boy 14/1, Winner at Dundalk in February. 8/1, creditable tenth of 21 in handicap at Leopardstown (12f, good) 26 days ago, making effort earlier than ideal. Work to do with a few on these terms. Dundalk AW winner over 1m4f so no issues with trip, others better treated at these weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (100/1 -100%) Fox Leicester |
100/1(-100%) | (5) Fox Leicester 100/1, Modest gelding. 33/1 and hooded for 1st time, twelfth of 17 in handicap hurdle at Punchestown (16f, good to soft) 22 days ago. Poor on last Flat outing. Fit from hurdling but better on AW than on turf and makes little appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) (50/1 +0%) Romann |
50/1(+0%) | (11) Romann 50/1, Modest gelding. 14/1, possibly needed the run after 8 months off when tenth of 13 in handicap at Cork (10.1f, good to soft) 22 days ago. Still, plenty to find if he's to play a part on these terms. Won two AW races for Pat Flynn in his early days, 42-rated gelding makes little appeal now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (9) (100/1 -52%) Sapristi |
100/1(-52%) | (9) Sapristi 100/1, Eighteenth of 19 in handicap at the Curragh (8f, good, 66/1) 19 days ago. Significantly back up in trip. Won a 1m2f Fairyhouse claimer last June, has struggled in two handicap runs for this yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (10) (7/2 -56%) Emeric |
7/2(-56%) | (10) Emeric 7/2, Fairly useful gelding. 16/1, thirteenth of 19 in handicap at the Curragh (8f, good) 19 days ago. Significantly up in trip and he's a likely player if bouncing back. Not far off his best in several AW races before moderate turf run last time, decent chance. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
MAGNETIC NORTH might be able to register a 10th career success on what will be his debut for Ian Donoghue. The chestnut gelding ran at least once for 21 consecutive months from March 2022 to November 2023 and returns now from a well-earned break. The winner of this race 12 months ago and, in here for 12,000 euros, the 73-rated nine-year-old should give a good account of himself with Shane Foley aboard. Colin Keane will get the leg up on French Company, who also has a price tag of 12,000 euros. After finishing a solid fourth at Fairyhouse recently, the Jimmy Coogan-trained six-year-old looks a leading contender. Pinball Wizard (15,000 euros) is a consistent sort and is sure to have plenty of supporters, while the Paul Flynn-trained Emeric (6,000 euros) is another with strong claims.
A trappy claimer with the narrow vote in favour of EMERIC. He wasn't at his best over shorter at the Curragh 3 weeks ago but was proving a model of consistency on all-weather previously and, still lightly raced at this trip, he's taken to bounce back. Kendancer and Roderick are others to consider, along with French Company.
With Kendancer due to run over hurdles at Sligo on Tuesday, the vote goes to FRENCH COMPANY, a solid fourth in a recent handicap

KITTY FURNIVAL confirmed the promise that she displayed on debut when a neck second over 1m2f at Leicester last month and the daughter of Zarak is the one to beat on that evidence. Zilfee is certainly a newcomer to note being a half-sister to Enable, as well as a full-sister to the Listed-placed Derab. Al Haal and Inlet are other interesting debutants, while Incensed completes the shortlist.
KITTY FURNIVAL was unlucky to bump into a really promising colt when a close second at Leicester on her return last month, pulling 11 lengths clear of the third, and she sets a high standard back against her own sex. Zilfee is a half-sister to connections' superstar mare Enable so warrants plenty of respect on debut, while Al Haal is another newcomer to note.
Form pick Kitty Furnival might again be up against an above-average debutante in ZILFEE, a Sea The Stars half-sister to Enable.

7th (5) (17/2 -55%) Copie Conforme |
17/2(-55%) | (5) Copie Conforme 17/2, Lightly-raced maiden. Creditable third of 8 in handicap (10/3) at Sligo (10.6f, good) 28 days ago, needing stronger gallop. In the mix. Showed ability in 1m AW winter maidens; may improve from handicap debut at Sligo. |

9th (8) (125/1 -400%) Abel Mabel |
125/1(-400%) | (8) Abel Mabel 125/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Last of 10 in handicap (25/1) at Cork (10.2f, good) 33 days ago. Can give a good account if back on her A-game. Last of ten in a 1m2f Cork handicap in which Hanoi finished third, not a likely contender. |

10th (9) (5/2 +0%) Hanoi |
5/2(+0%) | (9) Hanoi 5/2, 7/2, good third of 17 in handicap at Gowran (9.4f, good to soft) 9 days ago, never nearer. Up in trip. Expected to be bang there despite a 4 lb rise in the weights. Has shown definite potential on his last two starts, longer trip here may suit. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
HANOI has been knocking on the door of late and should appreciate this step up in trip. Sent off favourite on his last two starts at Cork and Gowran respectively, he was a fast finishing third on both occasions. Question Of Class was behind the selection at Cork, finishing a respectable sixth on what was her seasonal debut. Entitled to come on plenty for that effort, she looks to have solid claims here off a mark of 63. Cloudseeker has some placed form to his name and is sure to have his supporters, while others of interest are recent Sligo third Copie Conforme, top-weight Imarajan and the Gavin Cromwelll-trained Empress Anna.
IMARAJAN appeals as a likely improver now he steps into handicap company with this longer trip also a plus, so he looks the way to go. Gowran third Hanoi figures on a lenient mark so is next on the list ahead of in-form pair Empress Alma and Copie Conforme.
This step up in trip may make all the difference for HANOI who has finished to good effect on his last two starts

9th (3) (125/1 -279%) It's Life |
125/1(-279%) | (3) It's Life 125/1, Twice-raced filly. 50/1, eleventh of 12 in maiden at Lingfield (7f, good to firm) 13 days ago. Down the field in two turf maidens last month; dam won on AW but she's best watched. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
ART PATRON is a full-sister to the 7f Listed winner and Group 3-placed Eternally, which means that Andrew Balding's filly has to be of interest on her racecourse bow. That said, Eighth Avenue cost 240,000gns as a yearling and is from the same family as the Queen Mary winner Ceiling Kitty. With that in mind, she should not be discounted, while Never The Twain and The Terminus are also of interest.
EIGHTH AVENUE is bred to have plenty of speed and is likely to be sufficiently tuned up, so she gets the marginal vote without the benefit of market clues. Never The Twain is another who should be well prepared, so she's a big threat, while Art Patron makes plenty of appeal on paper.
Andrew Balding's ART PATRON is taken to emulate her sister by winning at the first time of asking.

14th (4) (100/1 -1329%) Gatwick Kitten |
100/1(-1329%) | (4) Gatwick Kitten 100/1, Off 6 months and shaped encouragingly when fifth of 13 in handicap at Leicester (6f, good) 32 days ago, hampered 1f out when making headway. Bold showing on the cards now eased 1 lb. 1lb below last winning mark and badly hampered on his reappearance; interesting. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
CAPTAIN DANDY was last seen finishing third in a similar contest over 6f at Redcar a couple of weeks ago and, eased 1lb, he could make a bold bid to go two places better for his in-form stable. Bernie The Bear has posted some solid efforts in defeat this season, most recently when finishing third over C&D last month, and another prominent showing is likely. Sirius White steps back markedly in trip and should be running on when others have cried enough.
GATWICK KITTEN teed himself up well for this when an encouraging reappearance fifth at Leicester and can capitalise on a handy-looking mark now. Stormy Pearl didn't enjoy the rub of the green when seventh at Redcar last time and is next on the list. Both Captain Dandy and Mr Trevor also need considering in an open handicap.
The vote goes to GATWICK KITTEN who was badly hampered on last month's Leicester reappearance. He is 1lb below his last winning mark.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
SEPTEMBER LEAVES ran a huge race on her handicap debut in a valuable contest at the Curragh on Guineas weekend. The Night Of Thunder bay had a far from clear passage in the closing stages at the Co Kildare venue, eventually finishing fourth in what was a quality affair. Dropping back to maiden company now, the 78-rated three-year-old looks the one to beat. Bought for 100,000 pounds as a yearling, Polaris Dancer is of definite interest. The subject of market support prior to his debut at the Curragh, he finished an encouraging sixth and there should be plenty more to come from the Sea The Stars gelding. The Joseph O'Brien-trained Bacchanalian is the highest rated of those with a mark and is another leading contender, while Roscommon flop Slaney Swagger also warrants respect.
BACCHANALIAN still looked in need of the experience on his Cork reappearance and Joseph O'Brien's charge can prove too strong for more established pair September Leaves and Slaney Swagger.
The one to be on is SEPTEMBER LEAVES(nap) after a good return to action at the Curragh with probably more improvement to come

7th (8) (66/1 -267%) Betties Bay |
66/1(-267%) | (8) Betties Bay 66/1, Seventh of 11 in handicap (33/1) at Goodwood (8f, good) 19 days ago. Back down in trip. Others make more appeal. Pleasing third on her return over C&D but good bit below that level since. |

8th (10) (80/1 -264%) Different Breed |
80/1(-264%) | (10) Different Breed 80/1, 1 win from 3 runs this year. Winner at Lingfield in January. 10/3, fourth of 5 in handicap at Windsor (6f, heavy) 37 days ago. Breakthrough win on AW then blew out on soft ground. |

9th (6) (100/1 -1567%) Jimmy Speaking |
100/1(-1567%) | (6) Jimmy Speaking 100/1, Career best when winning 12-runner handicap at Ascot (6f, good, 10/3) 33 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Firmly on the up and deserves plenty of respect. Different proposition at three; cheekpieces could help him stay straight this time. |

10th (5) (100/1 -300%) Solar Aclaim |
100/1(-300%) | (5) Solar Aclaim 100/1, 20/1, eighth of 11 in handicap at Doncaster (6f, firm) 25 days ago. Makes polytrack debut. Others more persuasive. Probably best watched; drawn widest for AW debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
There should be more to come from handicap debutant Rosa Applause, who bids for a hat-trick having completed her double at Lingfield. Jimmy Speaking, who landed a double of his own at Ascot last month, merits respect in the first-time cheekpieces, although Chris Dwyer's gelding will need to be sharp leaving the stalls if he's to race prominently. Southwell winner BLUE DAY was caught too far back at Windsor nine days ago but this should play out more favourably and he gets the vote.
ROSA APPLAUSE had plenty to spare at Lingfield last time and is the sort to go on improving, so she gets the nod over City House, who is likely to get back on the up returning to a more favourable surface. Jimmy Speaking is another one in search of a hat-trick, so he's hard to rule out.
A chance is taken that CITY HOUSE revives back on an artificial surface. He recorded an RPR of 95 over C&D in October.

1/2(+38%) | (3) Dramatic Star 1/2, Promising sort. 8/1, second of 11 in minor event at Nottingham (10.2f, good) 33 days ago. This son of Sea The Stars holds leading claims, especially now stepped up in trip. Run well in both starts as when just beaten by a subsequent winner last time; hard to beat. |

2nd (5) (7/2 +30%) Temple City |
7/2(+30%) | (5) Temple City 7/2, Thrice-raced colt. Eighth of 10 in minor event (16/1) at Newbury (10f, good to soft) 54 days ago, having run of race. Possibilities. Promising third on last October's Newmarket debut, but gone backwards in two starts since. |

4th (7) (11/1 -38%) Lucykeys |
11/1(-38%) | (7) Lucykeys 11/1, Twice-raced filly and fair form shown, good second of 7 in maiden at Southwell (11.1f). Off 92 days but in the picture. Placed in two AW maidens, but will need to step up plenty to bother Dramatic Star. |

100/1(-525%) | (2) Bebeto 100/1, Twice-raced gelding. 80/1, fourth of 9 in minor event at Carlisle (9f, good to soft) 13 days ago. Up in trip and no forlorn hope. Not without ability in both starts last month; still looks more one for handicaps. |

100/1(-614%) | (4) Grey Nyle 100/1, Fifth of 6 in minor event (6/1) at Ayr (8f, heavy) on debut. Off 8 months/had wind op and should still do better now significantly up in trip. Well beaten on Ayr debut last October; wind surgery since; will need to improve plenty. |

250/1(-279%) | (1) Trojan Sun 250/1, Twice-raced gelding. Seventh of 9 in minor event (100/1) at Carlisle (9f, good to soft) 13 days ago, slowly away. Up in trip. Beaten a long way in two starts over 6f/1m1f last month; handicaps an option after this. |

May be best watched on debut unless the market suggests otherwise. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
This looks to be a good opportunity for DRAMATIC STAR to open his account. The son of Sea The Stars bumped into a potentially useful type when finishing second in a warm race at Nottingham last month and, with the promise of more to come, he gets the nod. Grey Nyle made a low-key start when finishing fifth of six on his debut over a mile at Ayr last season, racing greenly throughout, but improvement can be expected stepping up in trip on his first start after wind surgery. Temple City must also enter calculations.
DRAMATIC STAR looks the way to go with more to come now his stamina is drawn out further. Wadacre Tivoli could emerge as the main danger to William Haggas' Sea The Stars colt if, as expected, building on her Ripon debut third. Lucykeys and Temple City also have the form to have a say in this fair maiden.
This looks a good opportunity for DRAMATIC STAR to get off the mark. He has shown plenty of ability in both starts.

7/2(-27%) | (1) Physique 7/2, 18/1 and hooded for 1st time, creditable fourth of 14 in handicap at the Curragh (7f, good) 19 days ago. Should remain competitive. Decent fourth in a 7f Curragh handicap last month; coming into the race in reasonable form. |

6/1(-71%) | (6) School Of Law 6/1, Ninth of 12 in maiden at Navan (10f, good to soft, 13/2) 46 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Needs to bounce back. Gelded after a disappointing effort up to 1m2f at Navan in April; interesting runner. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Chesham winner SNELLEN sets the standard on a mark of 89 and while she has been disappointing since her Royal Ascot success, she might just need proper quick ground to be seen at her best. A winner in the UK when trained by Paul Cole and now in the care of Micky Fenton, Physique has the best recent form. A close fourth to Hurricane Ivor at the Curragh last month, it'll be interesting to see if he can go a few places better now. Spanish Tenor, who has eight wins to his name, was very disappointing in a claimer at Tipperary last month. However, he can be forgiven for that effort, as he was found to have mucous in his trachea post-race and a much-improved performance can be expected from him now. Lady Lunette (first time cheekpieces) is another capable of making an impact.
An unconvincing bunch but at least PHYSIQUE arrives on the back of a creditable run at the Curragh. Lady Lunette is next best.
The one to beat could well be LADY LUNETTE who has the benefit of first-time cheekpieces and is 2lb lower than her last winning mark

3rd (4) (6/1 -33%) Free Speech |
6/1(-33%) | (4) Free Speech 6/1, Creditable third of 7 in handicap (4/1) at Windsor (11.4f, good to firm) 30 days ago, slowly away. Shaped well on her latest outing at the track and has remained in form since, so strong claims if the race is run to suit. Ran creditably at Kempton and Windsor (11.4f, twice) on her last three starts this spring. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (3/1 +57%) Reyaadah Star |
3/1(+57%) | (3) Reyaadah Star 3/1, Lightly-raced winner. Course winner. Winner here in May. 10/3, respectable fourth of 8 in handicap at Nottingham (10.2f, good) 22 days ago, needing stiffer test. Can get back on track. Not so good on turf/handicap debut (1m2f, good) but progressive on AW before that. |

66/1(-1550%) | (2) Measured Moments 66/1, Twelve runs since last win in 2023. 5/2, creditable third of 6 in handicap at Redcar (10f, soft) 15 days ago. Booking of Callan a plus. Likely to continue in form. Her form has dipped somewhat on turf this spring and this is her first run beyond 1m2f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (100/1 -525%) Malinka |
100/1(-525%) | (6) Malinka 100/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Last of 7 in handicap (9/1) at Windsor (11.4f, good to firm) 23 days ago. Others make more appeal. 3rd at Lingfield (1m, AW) in December is much her best from four starts; last in handicap. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
College Choir boasts a largely consistent profile and the lightly-raced daughter of Nathaniel is taken to go well once more, though it is AIMING HIGH who shades preference. David Simcock's mare met trouble when filling the runner-up spot at Lingfield last time, having travelled strongly into contention. Given a smoother passage, she could go one better. Reyaadah Star likes it around here and it would come as no surprise were she to bounce back from a below-par showing at Nottingham.
FREE SPEECH has been shaping up well and has form at the track, so she takes marginal preference over College Choir, who may yet have more to offer. Aiming High is another one to consider after catching the eye at Lingfield.
This may go to WARBLER, who's an interesting handicap debutante, with Reyaadah Star feared most.

1st (6) (10/1 -43%) Moyola |
10/1(-43%) | (6) Moyola 10/1, Scored at Newcastle in February and backed it up with good placed efforts both starts since, latterly on back of a wind op when third of 15 in handicap at Haydock (6f, good to soft) 18 days ago. Each-way claims again from this mark. Good runs in third the last twice; in the mix if transferring form back to faster ground. |

2nd (5) (11/2 +8%) Pals Battalion |
11/2(+8%) | (5) Pals Battalion 11/2, Won at Beverley (5f) on final start last term and has stepped up with each outing so far this term, 1¼ lengths fourth of 7 to Mr Irrelevant in handicap (11/4) at this C&D (good to firm) 10 days ago, rallying well inside final 1f. Claims representing yard in excellent form. Fair efforts when fourth the last twice (most recently over C&D) and could be thereabouts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (5/1 -43%) Mr Irrelevant |
5/1(-43%) | (1) Mr Irrelevant 5/1, Improving 3-y-o who made it 3 wins from his last 4 starts when landing 7-runner C&D handicap 10 days ago, edging ahead halfway and just holding on. Possibilities again for all this rates tougher under a penalty. Has won three of his last four (C&D latest) and has to be respected under 6lb penalty. |

4th (3) (9/2 -29%) Dubai Hills |
9/2(-29%) | (3) Dubai Hills 9/2, Very well backed returned to sprinting and showed improved form when making all in 5-runner handicap at Pontefract (6f, soft) 6 weeks ago. Up 6 lb on the back of that and bit more on his plate up in grade. 0-10 prior to small-field win at Pontefract; 6lb higher here but he did it in good style. |

40/1(-300%) | (4) Angel Of England 40/1, Seventh of 10 in handicap (13/8) at Thirsk (6f, good to firm) 5 days ago, racing off the pace and never landing a blow. Blinkers need to have positive effect now. Connections won this last year with one returning to form in first-time blinkers. |

6th (2) (40/1 -2028%) Bengurion |
40/1(-2028%) | (2) Bengurion 40/1, Invincible Army filly who won only start as a 2-y-o and improved to make it 2-2 under a penalty on return in 11-runner Kempton novice (7f) 3 weeks ago, displaying a likeable attitude. Open to further progress now handicapping and shortlisted on turf debut. 2-2 (6f/7f, AW) and form of latest win has been boosted; has potential off opening mark. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
BENGURION ran out a game winner over 7f on her seasonal reappearance last month and that ability to stay further should stand her in good stead here. To that end, a bold bid to make all is expected on her handicap debut. Mr Irrelevant showed a likeable attitude when scoring over C&D 10 days ago and is respected under a penalty, while Dubai Hills completes the shortlist for all that this mark has proved beyond him in the past.
BENGURION has impressed in landing each of her 2 starts on all-weather, displaying a willing attitude when defying a penalty on return to action at Kempton (7f) 3 weeks ago. She earns the vote now handicapping in the hope she proves as effective on turf. Pals Battalion and the thriving Mr Irrelevant are others to consider.
Topweight MR IRRELEVANT knows how to get the job done and is taken to defy a penalty and make it four wins from his last five starts.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
EXPECTO appears versatile in terms of ground conditions having won a nursery on heavy ground at Gowran Park last autumn and comes here off the back of a couple of solid efforts on a much sounder surface this term at Leopardstown and again at Gowran. Roman Palace won over this trip at Dundalk in January and remains on a competitive mark having shaped well again over a mile at Leopardstown last month. Han Solo took advantage of a lowly rating to land a 25-runner 7f Cork event last September and should have benefited from his reappearance at Listowel, while Brewel Hill also won a big-field handicap at the Curragh last summer.
EXPECTO was an excellent fifth of 17 at Gowran 9 days ago and is expected to go well again. Roman Palace and Zahee head the dangers.
The selection is ROMAN PALACE after a good run on turf at Leopardstown with a good draw for a horse that will race prominently

22/1(-38%) | (8) Nostromo 22/1, Modest form. Eighth of 10 in handicap (12/1) at Windsor (11.5f, good to firm) 9 days ago. Improvement needed. Promising 4th on handicap debut at Windsor (1m2f, heavy) but failed to figure there latest. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
THE BAY WARRIOR seems to save his best for Chelmsford, but Mark Usher's charge does have a C&D victory on his CV. With a few question marks surrounding some of the less-exposed types, the six-year-old, who has won off higher marks in the past, might represent a bit of value. Fougere appeals as an obvious contender having finished second on each of her last two starts, while Fictional should not be written off with cheekpieces applied for the first time.
FOUGERE was collared only late on by a progressive 3-y-o at Nottingham last time and can go one better now. The Bay Warrior has a win and 2 placed efforts to show for his 3 attempts over this trip on AW in 2024 and should give another good account. The fact Fictional has been prominent in the betting in his 2 handicaps suggests he's thought capable of better and he could also have a say if reacting positively to cheekpieces.
This looks very tricky but preference is for ASSEMBLED who knew how to win last season and has a run under his belt this term.

Catherine Chroi |
(5) (9/2 -50%)9/2(-50%) | (5) Catherine Chroi 9/2, Thrived having been re-united with this yard, making it 6 wins from 8 runs since March in 8-runner C&D handicap 2 weeks ago, showing a good attitude in the process. A little more needed having gone up further 3 lb but she's hard to rule out in this groove. Has been a revelation since returning to this yard (form 21161111); fast ground a concern. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (4) (7/2 -5%) Jordan Electrics |
7/2(-5%) | (4) Jordan Electrics 7/2, 3-time C&D winner. 2 wins from 4 runs this year. Fourteenth of 15 in handicap at this course (5f, good to firm, 22/1) 10 days ago, dropping away having raced wide. Likely type to bounce back eased in class. Four wins here; out of his depth last time but respected back at this level. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (4/1 +33%) Winter Crown |
4/1(+33%) | (3) Winter Crown 4/1, Lightly-raced 4-y-o who shaped with plenty of encouragement following 4 months off when second of 4 in handicap (6/1) at Redcar (6f, soft) 16 days ago. He looks one to be interested in again with that under his belt. Second behind a well-handicapped rival at Redcar last time; considered from the same mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (15/8 +25%) Sacred Falls |
15/8(+25%) | (7) Sacred Falls 15/8, Cheekpieces on for 1st time, career best when winning 8-runner handicap at Carlisle (5.8f, good to firm, 13/8) 23 days ago, well on top finish. More to do up 5 lb now but her consistency on turf is hard to knock and claims once more. 5lb higher than when winning at Carlisle last time; has run well in three starts over C&D. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (6/1 +20%) How Impressive |
6/1(+20%) | (2) How Impressive 6/1, Successful 3 times on AW since the turn of the year and quickly dispelled a rare below-par display at York when a creditable fourth of 9 in handicap at Doncaster (6f, good) 12 days ago. Expected to give another good account. Has had more success on the AW, but has won on turf; others still make more appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (33/1 +0%) Pockley |
33/1(+0%) | (6) Pockley 33/1, Eleven runs since last win in 2023. Last of 11 in handicap at this course (5f, good to firm, 25/1) 6 days ago, lost all chance at start. Headgear discarded now but others arrive with more pressing claims. 0-23 on turf; not hard to look elsewhere. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (40/1 -264%) Jump The Gun |
40/1(-264%) | (1) Jump The Gun 40/1, Course winner who added to his tally at Newcastle (6f) in November. Operating below best when last seen on all-weather earlier this year and he needs to hit the ground running returned to turf following 111 days off. 2lb below last winning mark, but likely he will need this after 111 days off. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
The progressive Catherine Chroi bids for her seventh win of the year, while Jordan Electrics drops down in class having landed a double last month. How Impressive is another to consider having posted a better effort at Doncaster recently. That said, preference is for WINTER CROWN, who returned from a layoff with a creditable second on soft ground at Redcar. Julie Camacho's charge will relish this faster surface and may prove the one to side with in a competitive sprint.
WINTER CROWN is still low mileage as a 4-y-o and shaped well back from 4 months off when chasing home Dakota Gold in a small field at Redcar 16 days ago. He could be worth chancing to build on that operating just 2 lb above his last winning mark. Sacred Falls and Catherine Chroi both arrive in excellent form and head up the dangers in a competitive affair.
It may be worth siding with SACRED FALLS who improved for the fitting of cheekpieces when winning at Carlisle last time.

25/1(-25%) | (2) Sondheim 25/1, 10/1, eighteenth of 25 in handicap at Cork (7f, good to firm). Off 9 months. Likely to need the run and others are more persuasive. Won twice in 2022, fair placed form last season before ending with two below-par runs. |

11/1(-22%) | (13) Clarinbridge 11/1, 14/1, respectable fifth of 14 in handicap at Dundalk (6f) 89 days ago. Not dismissed after a break. In fair form at Dundalk early in the year, more effective on turf so worth considering. |

3rd (10) (14/1 +0%) Trueba |
14/1(+0%) | (10) Trueba 14/1, C&D winner. 25/1, seventh of 13 in handicap at Cork (7f, good to soft) 22 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Has good chance on pick of form. Below best since winning at Cork last August though not beaten far at that venue last time. |

50/1(-100%) | (12) The Stray Sod 50/1, 20/1, eleventh of 13 in handicap at Naas (7f, heavy) 80 days ago. Others make more appeal. Promising run at the Curragh in March, Naas outing six days later may have come too soon. |

5th (15) (9/1 -170%) Improving |
9/1(-170%) | (15) Improving 9/1, C&D winner. One win from 35 Flat runs. Sixteen runs since last win in 2020. Good second of 11 in handicap at Tipperary (5f, heavy, 14/1) 15 days ago. Handicapped to win if he can build on that. Course winner on heavy in 2020, recent second was over 5f on soft at Tipperary. |

7/1(-40%) | (1) On Our Radar 7/1, Respectable fifth of 15 in handicap (10/1) at Roscommon (7.4f, good) 23 days ago. Best form at Dundalk, needs to step up on Roscommon efforts and has plenty of weight here. |

16/1(-100%) | (5) Golden Days 16/1, 15/2, below form 7¾ lengths fourth of 12 to Vikki Wall in handicap at Roscommon (7.7f, good to soft) 30 days ago. Not one to rule out. A bit below his best winter form at Dundalk when fourth at Roscommon, needs to find extra. |

In good form in 1m races at Dundalk early last year, may have needed last month's run. |

12/1(+52%) | (16) Lorr's Girl 12/1, 50/1, creditable sixth of 18 in handicap at Fairyhouse (7f, good to soft) 13 days ago, slowly away. Not discounted. Had plenty of horses behind her at Fairyhouse, seems to be getting the hang of things. |

6/1(-20%) | (6) Boadicea Belle 6/1, Unreliable sort. 1 win from 3 runs this year. Latest win at Dundalk in April. Creditable eighth of 19 in handicap (12/1) at the Curragh (8f, good) 19 days ago. Four-time AW winner, last two runs on turf have been respectable, not without a chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (3) (12/1 +0%) Rock Etoile |
12/1(+0%) | (3) Rock Etoile 12/1, Twelve runs since last win in 2023. Tenth of 14 in handicap at Tipperary (7.1f, soft, 9/1) 14 days ago. Now below last winning mark but not threatening to capitalise. Has looked out of sorts this term though now back below his last winning mark. |

13th (4) (18/1 -64%) Vikki Wall |
18/1(-64%) | (4) Vikki Wall 18/1, Winner at Roscommon in May. 13/2, bit below form ninth of 15 in handicap at Roscommon (7.4f, good) 23 days ago. Could bounce back quickly. Raised 11lb for Roscommon win when Super Cub and Golden Days were behind, unplaced latest. |

10/1(-11%) | (9) Super Cub 10/1, Tenth of 15 in novice hurdle at Tramore (16.2f, good to soft, 50/1) on NH debut 11 days ago. Modest on the Flat, respectable on last Flat outing. Can't be ruled out. Unplaced over hurdles last time, 1-38 record on the Flat but has been placed 11 times. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
16th (14) (25/1 +50%) Scarlet Dancer |
25/1(+50%) | (14) Scarlet Dancer 25/1, One win from 37 Flat runs. Thirty four runs since last win in 2021. Ninth of 11 in handicap (50/1) at Gowran (7f, heavy) 34 days ago. Very hard to make a case for. Only win from 37 starts came as a juvenile in Britain, two moderate runs this season. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Pinar Del Rio has advertised the training talent of Joe Conlon, winning twice this year, and BEAUMADIER may provide the Curragh handler with further success. The four-year-old gelding was having his first outing for current connections when beating all bar Eruption in a Sligo claimer and that form was given a boost when the winner ran a cracker at Navan on Saturday. Clarinbridge has put together a series of solid efforts at Dundalk earlier this year and rates a threat, with Colin Keane a significant booking. Golden Days has gained all three career wins over this trip and is another to consider, along with Lorr's Girl and On Our Radar.
IMPROVING has won over C&D in the past and shaped as if back in form when a staying-on second over the minimum trip at Tipperary, so he makes the most appeal off a much-reduced mark. Beaumadier is a danger on his second start for his current yard and Super Cub isn't without hope.
This looks very open. LORR'S GIRL made good late progress at Fairyhouse and is put forward as an each-way selection

2/1(+27%) | (5) Night Breeze 2/1, 12/1, good second of 11 in handicap at Goodwood (9f, good) 5 days ago. This longer trip could suit him and a major player under William Buick. Much more promise the last twice; stepping up in trip could help; W Buick a good booking. |

100/1(-614%) | (2) Oriental Art 100/1, One win from 26 Flat runs. Seventh of 8 in handicap at Doncaster (1½m, firm, 9/1) 25 days ago, needing stronger gallop. Poor strike-rate and yet to fire this year; others look more appealing. |

9th (10) (150/1 -200%) Colonial Love |
150/1(-200%) | (10) Colonial Love 150/1, Eleven runs since last win in 2021. Off 18 months, first run since leaving Robyn Brisland when last of 13 in handicap at Leicester (1¼m, good, 80/1) 32 days ago. 1m4f AW win in 2021; struggled since, including on stable debut after long absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) (66/1 -230%) Sexy Rexy |
66/1(-230%) | (7) Sexy Rexy 66/1, Won twice on AW in 2023. Ran poorly on Windsor reappearance 9 days ago and needs to have come on a lot in a short time. Ended 2023 in good form on AW; low-key return from break last week (turf); better expected. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
NIGHT BREEZE got up for second late on over 1m1f at Goodwood recently and he shaped as if this step up in distance would suit. Ian Williams' four-year-old goes off the same mark and has William Buick booked, so he should go close. Goblet Of Fire finished fourth over hurdles at Bangor last time and he is an interesting contender back on the Flat off a workable mark, while Devizes is noted too.
GOBLET OF FIRE still has a rating in the 50s despite 3 Flat wins last summer and should still have some scope from his mark now having his first outing on the Flat for Nicky Henderson. William Buick has been booked for last Friday's Goodwood runner-up Night Breeze and he's an obvious threat with this longer trip possibly a help. Chagall may prove best of the remainder.
Night Breeze is feared upped in trip but GOBLET OF FIRE's Flat career still has an air of unfinished business about it.

Off 3 months, possible he will be sharper for his fourth of 8 in handicap (40/1) at this course (6f, soft) 14 days ago but others appeal more for win purposes. 12/1(+14%) | (2) Dicko The Legend 12/1, Doubled career tally at Chelmsford in December. Changed hands for 6,000 gns and possibly needed yard debut/first start for 4 months when sixth of 9 in handicap at Catterick (6f, soft) 12 days ago. However, still needs to translate his best all-weather form to turf. Two AW wins towards end of last year but has to prove he's just as good on turf. |

4th (3) (7/2 +50%) Sound Reason |
7/2(+50%) | (3) Sound Reason 7/2, 9/1, respectable fourth of 11 in handicap at this C&D (good to firm) 6 days ago, ridden 2f out and keeping on final 1f. Not one to write off from this sort of mark with his yard in good form. On a reduced mark and encouraging fourth over C&D last week; in with a chance. |

5th (7) (6/1 -20%) Aces Wild |
6/1(-20%) | (7) Aces Wild 6/1, Latest win at Wolverhampton in April. Good second of 9 in handicap at Chelmsford City (5f, 4/1) 20 days ago, conceding first run. Clearly in good heart and claims if proving himself as effective on turf. Well beaten on sole turf start but on soft ground; has gone close on AW the last twice. |

Manner of that victory suggests she may yet have more to offer and respected here. Progressive filly who has won two of her last three and could play another leading role. |

7th (5) (10/1 -67%) Wee Fat Mac |
10/1(-67%) | (5) Wee Fat Mac 10/1, Scored twice towards end of last year on AW and continued in good heart since, far from disgraced when third of 11 in handicap at Newcastle (5f) in March. Absent subsequently but he's no forlorn hope if ready to roll after 103 days off. In good form on AW early this year; modest turf strike-rate but possibilities nevertheless. |

Far from disgraced when seventh of 20 in Ayr Bronze Cup (6f) on final start and return to the minimum trip rates a plus on return to action. Won over C&D last August; campaign ended with three below-par runs; makes reappearance. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Refuge won this in 2022 and finished runner-up last year to Newyorkstateofmind. The former has the best recent form of that pair, while Ski Angel has won two of her last three outings, but has been raised a further 5lb after scoring at Musselburgh last time. SOUND REASON is 7lb lower than when last successful and he's taken to build on last week's fourth over C&D and return to winning ways.
Successful over C&D last term, SKI ANGEL quickly resumed winning ways in the style of one who may not have reached her limit just yet at Musselburgh 11 days ago and she could be worth siding with to go in again from a 5 lb higher mark. 4-time C&D winner Refuge highlighted he's coming to hand with a creditable fourth at Ripon recently and he's feared. Last year's winner Newyorkstateofmind and Sound Reason complete the shortlist.
Course specialist REFUGE (nap) has posted a win and a close second in the last two runnings of this race and can come out on top.

28/1(-180%) | (4) Curious Bride 28/1, Twenty runs since sole win in 2020. 14/1, respectable seventh of 14 in handicap at Dundalk (12f) 4 months ago. Significantly back up in trip. In good form at Dundalk over the winter; has won on turf and each-way claims here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (15) (5/1 +75%) Say It So |
5/1(+75%) | (15) Say It So 5/1, 28/1, produced best effort to date over hurdles after 5 months off when fourth of 14 at Tipperary (16f, good to soft) 4 weeks ago. Significantly up in trip. Cheekpieces back on. Good hurdles run last month; Flat form is patchy at best and others look much more likely. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (12) (16/1 -78%) Figurehead |
16/1(-78%) | (12) Figurehead 16/1, 9/2, again ran creditably when fifth of 14 in handicap at Dundalk (16f) just over 11 weeks ago, ideally needing stronger gallop. Should remain competitive back on turf. solid efforts in defeat in a pair of 2m handicaps at Dundalk in the spring;each-way chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (15/2 -15%) Firm Belief |
15/2(-15%) | (6) Firm Belief 15/2, 8/1, failed to repeat last effort when fifth of 17 in handicap at Tipperary (12.5f, soft) 2 weeks ago. Significantly up in trip. Best run this year on goodish ground at Navan last month; should not be too far away here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (9/2 -29%) Mephisto |
9/2(-29%) | (8) Mephisto 9/2, Creditable third of 16 in handicap at Fairyhouse (12f, good, 7/2) 5 days ago, conceding first run. Significantly up in trip. Not taken lightly. Won twice over 2m at Dundalk during the winter; in good form and should go well once more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (22/1 +33%) Cerberus |
22/1(+33%) | (2) Cerberus 22/1, Below form fourth of 10 in claiming hurdle at Clonmel (18.7f, soft, 3/1) just under 8 weeks ago. First run for yard after leaving Augustine Leahy. This a rare Flat outing. Not a bad run in a claiming hurdle at Clonmel in April; first run on the Flat for a year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (9/1 -64%) Goonyaboyya |
9/1(-64%) | (10) Goonyaboyya 9/1, Creditable fourth of 14 in handicap (7/2) at Navan (13f, good) 25 days ago, lugging left behind horses over 1f out. Significantly up in trip. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (14) (33/1 -65%) Power Drive |
33/1(-65%) | (14) Power Drive 33/1, Latest win at Dundalk in April. Again ran below form when sixteenth of 22 in handicap at Navan (10.2f, good, 22/1) 4 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Well beaten last twice and very much unproven over this trip; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

20/1(-167%) | (11) Honketonk Angel 20/1, Winner at Dundalk in November. 22/1, got back on track when third of 14 in handicap at same course (16f) just over 11 weeks ago. Can make presence felt. Back to form when third in a handicap at Dundalk in March; much respected on that form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (5) (50/1 -150%) Bright Start |
50/1(-150%) | (5) Bright Start 50/1, 11/1, again ran poorly when twelfth of 14 in handicap at Listowel (8f, good) 10 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Became regressive for Godolphin and no better in five starts for this yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (3) (16/1 +20%) Oranmore |
16/1(+20%) | (3) Oranmore 16/1, One win from 24 Flat runs. 100/1, wasn't disgraced when fourth of 10 in minor event at Listowel (13.4f, good) 10 days ago. Up in trip. Up 8lb for his Listowel run but has a handy 5lb taken off here and likely to go well. |

16th (16) (50/1 +0%) Carslake |
50/1(+0%) | (16) Carslake 50/1, 50/1 and hood on for 1st time in this code, eighteenth of 19 in handicap hurdle at Tipperary (16f, good to soft) 50 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Cheekpieces back on. Dual purpose maiden has been poor on last three hurdle starts; makes no appeal. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
KILLEEMORE LAD won twice over hurdles last year and the dual-purpose gelding may add to his tally having filled the runner-up spot on his latest three starts. He beat all bar Pigeon House in a 24-runner handicap hurdle at the Punchestown Festival, and stayed on well behind Sign From Above when switching to the Flat at Listowel last time. Mephisto won twice over two miles at Dundalk last year and may be suited by this step back up in distance following a couple of decent runs recently. His stablemate Goonyaboyya is another for the shortlist and had Honketonk Angel, Highland Train and Figurehead all close behind when runner-up to Nusra over this trip at Dundalk on her penultimate start.
A competitive staying contest to close the card and it's KILLEEMORE LAD who gets the nod to go one better than he did at Listowel. Gerard Keane looks to have a couple of good chances in Mephisto and Goonyaboyya, so his pair may provide most resistance, with Honketonk Angel and Firm Belief another couple worthy of a mention, too.
A tentative selection goes to top-weight KILLEEMORE LAD whose good second at Listowel followed two fine runs over hurdles

1st (4) (9/2 -29%) Abraaj |
9/2(-29%) | (4) Abraaj 9/2, Has won over 2m at Newcastle and Lingfield this year. Creditable 3¼ lengths fourth of 8 to Wannabe Brave back at Lingfield latest but he may find that rival too strong again. This year's five AW runs have all been creditable shows from off the pace over 2m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (5/1 -11%) Damascus Steel |
5/1(-11%) | (1) Damascus Steel 5/1, Course winner in May. Good third of 8 in handicap (11/4) at Lingfield (1½m, AW) 8 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Merits consideration. Respected as an in-form candidate but recent races were over 1m4f; major new trip. |

3rd (6) (Evens +9%) Wannabe Brave |
Evens(+9%) | (6) Wannabe Brave Evens, On an AW 4-timer after 2m wins at Wolverhampton, Chelmsford and Lingfield in April/May. Did it decisively last time and a further 4 lb rise doesn't look enough to stop him. On a four-timer; going back up 4lb today may well underestimate him; big shout again. |

4th (7) (8/1 +33%) Home And Dry |
8/1(+33%) | (7) Home And Dry 8/1, Runner-up over 2m at Chelmsford last June and arrives fit from the Flat. Sports first-time cheekpieces. Fit today from hurdling and had two minor honours over 2m on Polytrack last June. |

5th (8) (100/1 -300%) Tazaman |
100/1(-300%) | (8) Tazaman 100/1, Course winner in 2021. Also successful on turf in 2022 but off since finishing seventh at Chelmsford in September 2022 (final start for Mark Loughnane). A watching brief has to be the call given the length of the absence. New trip; on a good mark if fitness is no issue but he's been absent 636 days. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (80/1 -142%) Sky Power |
80/1(-142%) | (5) Sky Power 80/1, Struggled on the Flat and over hurdles for this yard in 2023. Off 168 days ago. Tongue strap on for first time. Could only consider if backed. Last time he accomplished anything significant was December 2021; wind op and tongue-tie. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (50/1 -900%) Le Rouge Chinois |
50/1(-900%) | (2) Le Rouge Chinois 50/1, Didn't need to improve to win 10-runner handicap at Lingfield (2m) in January but he did show a tenacious attitude to lead close home. Should be very competitive if primed after 5 months off. Won by a nose at Lingfield in January on first crack at 2m; may have more to offer at 2m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (200/1 -203%) Imphal |
200/1(-203%) | (3) Imphal 200/1, Fairly useful on the Flat and over hurdles at his best but sent off at 200/1 when well held here on his recent return for an absence for his new yard. Can only watch after that. Excuses when last of six here (200-1) three weeks ago on his first Flat run for ages. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
WANNABE BRAVE successfully completed the hat-trick at Lingfield last time and he is only 4lb higher for that victory. The son of Fastnet Rock is proving a real force on the all-weather this year and he looks the one to be on. Le Rouge Chinois struck by the smallest of margins in this grade at Lingfield in January and he could have a say on his return to action, while Damascus Steel is another to consider.
WANNABE BRAVE has got on a roll recently and can defy the handicapper again. If Damascus Steel's stamina holds now stepping up from 1½m he can give James Fanshawe's charge most to do ahead of Abraaj.
Le Rouge Chinois, Abraaj and Damascus Steel need respect but WANNABE BRAVE (nap) can complete the four-timer.

1st (4) (5/2 +75%) Shahnaz |
5/2(+75%) | (4) Shahnaz 5/2, C&D winner. Fifteen runs since last win in 2022. Respectable fifth of 10 to Ledger in handicap at this C&D (good, 5/1) 26 days ago. Can go well again. Beaten on last 15 starts but reappearance was encouraging and she won this in 2022. |

9/2(-50%) | (8) True Nation 9/2, Career best when winning 8-runner apprentice handicap at Nottingham (8.3f, good, 7/1) 7 days ago. Escapes a penalty so she's expected to be bang there. Won apprentice handicap at Nottingham last week; escapes a penalty; strong claims. |

7/2(+30%) | (2) Ledger 7/2, 3 wins from 7 runs this year. 4/1, won 5-runner handicap at this course (9.2f, soft) 14 days ago. Enters calculations in his hat-trick bid despite another 3 lb rise in the weights. Two wins here last month; clearly in good heart and holds solid claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (9/1 +10%) Jaminoz |
9/1(+10%) | (1) Jaminoz 9/1, Course winner. Creditable sixth of 14 in handicap at this course (11.1f, good to firm, 17/2) 10 days ago, racing closer to pace than ideal. Down in trip. Needs considering. Fair efforts here on last three starts but needs something extra to return to winning ways. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

40/1(-233%) | (11) Dingwall 40/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 9/2, seventh of 10 in handicap at Southwell (7.1f) 44 days ago. Blinkers on 1st time. Uphill task. Down the field on all four starts, but well bred and things may click now he's blinkered. |

40/1(-471%) | (3) Golden Valour 40/1, Temperamental sort who landed 8-runner handicap at Ayr (8f, good, 8/1) 21 days ago. Needs to back it up now. Ended long losing run at Ayr; he's not straightforward but is not ruled out up just 2lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (14) (80/1 -567%) Miltonia |
80/1(-567%) | (14) Miltonia 80/1, 33/1, first run for new yard when solid fourth of 10 in handicap at Chelmsford City (7f) 20 days ago, not clear run. Ought to be thereabouts. 0-11 but kept on for encouraging fourth over 7f on stable debut; she's one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (100/1 -900%) Vitrina |
100/1(-900%) | (10) Vitrina 100/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Fifteenth of 18 in minor event at Doncaster (6f, firm, 125/1) 25 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Makes handicap debut. Others more persuasive. Mixed form but she's bred to be considerably better than her lowly opening mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (7) (100/1 -900%) Epona Pas |
100/1(-900%) | (7) Epona Pas 100/1, Creditable third of 7 in handicap (25/1) at this C&D (soft) 14 days ago, never nearer. Ought to be in the shake-up. 0-10 but fair third of seven over C&D a fortnight ago and he's not ruled out each-way. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (13) (100/1 -733%) National Question |
100/1(-733%) | (13) National Question 100/1, 80/1, got back on track when second of 9 in handicap at Musselburgh (8f, good) 11 days ago. Needs to reproduce it. Best of the rest behind easy winner at Musselburgh; not discounted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (6) (100/1 -300%) Bellslea |
100/1(-300%) | (6) Bellslea 100/1, Thrice-raced maiden on Flat. 200/1, ninth of 10 in novice hurdle at Perth (16.2f, good to soft) 27 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Very hard to make a case for. Makes handicap debut off lowly mark but he's shown little (across both codes). |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Ledger bids for a hat-trick of course wins having won a fortnight ago and he can effectively race off a lower mark when his rider's claim is taken into account. Both Golden Valour and True Nation were partnered by 7lb claimers when winning at Ayr and Nottingham respectively and face stiffer tasks. EPONA PAS has yet to win, but Jim Goldie's charge finished third in a higher grade over C&D last time and looks set to go close off his current mark.
A few with chances but Richard Fahey's filly TRUE NATION is hard to side against given she escapes a penalty for that Nottingham apprentice success a week ago. Hat-trick seeking Ledger rates the obvious danger, although both Shahnaz and Jaminoz are others who command respect in a competitive handicap.
The Richard Fahey-trained TRUE NATION escapes a penalty for last Wednesday's apprentice handicap win at Nottingham and can follow up.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
