Terrorise |
(3) (10/1 -11%)10/1(-11%) | (3) Terrorise 10/1, Showed much improved form sent handicapping when winning at Doncaster (10.2f) in May. Failed to repeat that effort at York and now tries a 2f longer trip. Impressed at Doncaster and it was a competitive Class 3 in which he struggled at York. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (6) (17/2 -31%) Tryfan |
17/2(-31%) | (6) Tryfan 17/2, Fair third on 1¼m AW debut last autumn. Not seen to best effect on Beverley reappearance and ran to just a similar level when second in 12f minor event at Thirsk last time, hanging badly right entering straight. Into handicaps now and there's a sense we've yet to see the best of him. Has shown promise (including here) and he could be an improver now handicapping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (7/4 +47%) Gulf Legend |
7/4(+47%) | (2) Gulf Legend 7/4, Much improved from debut after 8 months off when third of 12 in 10f maiden at Newbury (good) in May. Shade disappointing in first-time cheekpieces at Haydock subsequently but obvious player if returning to his Newbury form on handicap debut. Improving and only overhauled late on by the odds-on favourite at Haydock; h'cap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (25/1 -900%) Swordstick |
25/1(-900%) | (5) Swordstick 25/1, Debut winner who ran his best race when third of 5 in handicap at Chester (10.3f, soft) 33 days ago, nearest finish. Step up in trip promises to suit. Kept on for third at Chester and this longer trip looks the right move; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (400/1 -3536%) Attila The Honey |
400/1(-3536%) | (1) Attila The Honey 400/1, Landed back-to-back Southwell handicaps in the spring and was possibly unsuited by conditions when well held at Doncaster last time. Soft ground an excuse on turf debut and could resume progress back on this surface. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (100/1 -5219%) Extra Beat |
100/1(-5219%) | (4) Extra Beat 100/1, Displayed promise in novice events and took a marked step forward when winning 5-runner handicap at Haydock (10.2f, soft) 34 days ago, suited by increase in trip. Cheekpieces reached for now and may have more to offer over this still longer distance. First-time cheekpieces now on in this higher grade off a 4lb rise; hard to dismiss. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
GULF LEGEND has improved with each start to date and opening mark of 80 may underestimate the son of Dubawi based on his second in novice company at Haydock earlier in the month. Extra Beat got off the mark on his handicap bow at the same venue and may improve further in first-time cheekpieces. The rest all need to progress to win but Swordstick is the pick of them.
EXTRA BEAT was well suited by the stamina test when scoring at Haydock last month and, with the still longer trip here likely to suit, he's fancied to follow up. Gulf Legend was a bit disappointing last time but can play a serious part if returning to his Newbury form on his handicap debut, while Swordstick is another to consider with 1½m sure to be in his favour.
A tight handicap. SWORDSTICK stuck to his guns when third at Chester and he looks ready for this step up in trip.

1st (2) (20/1 -233%) Le Rouge Chinois |
20/1(-233%) | (2) Le Rouge Chinois 20/1, Winner at Lingfield in January. 12/1, seventh of 8 in handicap at Kempton (16f) 15 days ago. Stable is right back amongst the winners lately and cheekpieces go on. Well held 15 days (without cheekpieces, which now return) and perhaps needed that run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (9/1 -379%) Story Horse |
9/1(-379%) | (1) Story Horse 9/1, Career best when winning 8-runner handicap at Lingfield (11.6f, good to firm, 15/8) 5 days ago, readily. Obvious claims under a penalty but yet to prove himself fully over this trip. Off the mark at Lingfield (11.6f) five days ago, justifying favouritism in good style. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (25/1 -285%) Daaris |
25/1(-285%) | (7) Daaris 25/1, C&D winner. 10/1, good second of 8 in handicap at Lingfield (15.8f, AW) 28 days ago, running on. Visor on 1st time. Considered. Reliable sort who's been 2nd on AW last four outings, which is his best form; new headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (80/1 -700%) Tailorman |
80/1(-700%) | (8) Tailorman 80/1, Thrice-raced maiden on Flat. Ninth of 13 in maiden (125/1) at Leicester (8.2f, good to soft) 23 days ago, hampered. Could get back on track now handicapping up in trip. Runner-up in two bumpers; market may guide now he's up to 1m6f for handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (50/1 -525%) Cherry Cola |
50/1(-525%) | (6) Cherry Cola 50/1, C&D winner. 8/1, respectable fifth of 11 in handicap at Bath (14f, good) 20 days ago, never nearer. Becoming well treated. Ran respectably three weeks ago; player if improving on that to return to best 2023 form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (100/1 -1718%) Star Legend |
100/1(-1718%) | (4) Star Legend 100/1, 15/2, last of 7 in handicap at Newmarket (14f, good to firm) 5 days ago. Hood on 1st time on the Flat (on when winning over jumps). Not one to write off. Last of seven at Newmarket on Saturday; a hood returns in place of the recent cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (66/1 -1220%) Mandega |
66/1(-1220%) | (5) Mandega 66/1, Creditable third of 8 in novice hurdle at Cartmel (17.2f, soft, 7/1) 29 days ago. Fair on the Flat, ran well at Doncaster on latest outing in this sphere. Should be on the premises. Ran creditably last month at Doncaster (1m4f) and Cartmel (2m1f novice hurdle). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (50/1 -213%) Alpine Stroll |
50/1(-213%) | (3) Alpine Stroll 50/1, C&D winner. Sixteen runs since last win in 2022. 40/1, tenth of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (16.6f). Off 172 days. First run for yard after leaving Alexandra Dunn. Others more appealing. AW may excuse his two runs last winter for Alexandra Dunn; another trainer change since. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
STORY HORSE had plenty in hand when winning over an extended 1m3f at Lingfield last Saturday and the four-year-old is hard to oppose with his rider's claim negating his 5lb penalty. Daaris is likely to be a threat if he can transfer his recent all-weather form to the turf, while Mandega and Cherry Cola are others who merit a place on the shortlist.
A tricky contest in which it might be worth chancing that STAR LEGEND can bounce back from a poor effort with a hood on for the first time in this sphere. Story Horse is an obvious player under a penalty but there are reservations about his stamina, so Mandega may be the one to fear most.
Story Horse has the persuasive recent performance, but also a bit more to prove over this longer trip. ALPINE STROLL gets the vote.

13/8(-18%) | (1) Billboard Star 13/8, Promising type. Third of 8 in novice event at Goodwood (6f, good to firm, 12/1) on debut 18 days ago, denied a clear run. Winners have come out of the race and he's sure to improve. Third on debut at Goodwood this month and that performance gives him leading claims here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (66/1 -3200%) Praetorian |
66/1(-3200%) | (4) Praetorian 66/1, Promising sort. 10/3, third of 16 in maiden at Pontefract (6f, good to soft) on debut 34 days ago. Should progress given yard he represents so has to be taken seriously. Favourite when third of 16 on debut at Pontefract and he holds solid claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

80/1(-21%) | (7) Silver Ghost 80/1, 50/1, tenth of 13 in maiden at Goodwood (6f, good) on debut 13 days ago, very slowly away. Half-sister to seven winners but soundly beaten at 50-1 on recent debut at Goodwood. |

50/1(-400%) | (8) Ziggy's Ariel 50/1, Foaled January 6. €50,000 2-y-o, Inns of Court filly. Half-sister to 6f winner Quiet Street. Dam of little account, half-sister to useful 2-y-o 6f winner Natalie's Joy. 50,000euros 2yo breeze-ups; trainer does well with 2yos; could have part to play on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (80/1 -2567%) Twilight Ballet |
80/1(-2567%) | (5) Twilight Ballet 80/1, Promising sort. Third of 10 in maiden at Lingfield (5f, good, 6/1) on debut 17 days ago, running on. Up in trip, which seems sure to suit and he's open to progress. Kept on for 3rd on debut over 5f at Lingfield; the step up to 6f could prompt improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

100/1(-525%) | (3) Ghostman 100/1, Foaled February 15. 32,000 gns foal, 23,000 gns yearling, Dandy Man colt. Dam, 2-y-o 7f winner, half-sister to useful 1¼m-1¾m winner London Bridge. Sixth foal; dam 7f 2yo winner (RPR 85); needs to run to a decent standard on debut. |

251/1(-280%) | (9) Sopelana 251/1, 18/1, sixth of 8 in maiden at Leicester (7f, good) on debut 12 days ago. Sent off 18-1 and beaten 15l when sixth of eight on recent debut at Leicester. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (80/1 -60%) Clever Jack |
80/1(-60%) | (2) Clever Jack 80/1, Foaled February 12. €25,000 foal, 60,000 gns yearling, Starspangledbanner colt. Brother to useful winner around 1m James McHenry and half-brother to 1m winner Rockbury Lad. Too green to show much starting out at Newbury. Potential in his pedigree but he was well beaten at 66-1 on recent debut at Newbury. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
PRAETORIAN may have let favourite-backers down when third at Pontefract, but the performance has been boosted by subsequent displays of the front two, with the winner finishing fourth to Shareholder at Beverley and the runner-up going one better at Carlisle before taking sixth in the Chesham. Archie Watson's colt is a confident selection on that basis, although Twilight Ballet and Billboard Star also made the frame on debut and could be dangerous. Ziggy's Ariel is worth a glance in the market.
BILLBOARD STAR showed plenty when third on debut at Goodwood 3 weeks ago and with a couple behind that day successful since, the form has a solid look to it. Praetorian is also open to progress and is a threat, along with Twilight Ballet.
With his debut Goodwood third working out nicely, BILLBOARD STAR earns the vote ahead of Twilight Ballet.

Looked in need of the experience at Leicester (7f) but he still needed to show more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (100/1 -1011%) Kissing Strangers |
100/1(-1011%) | (3) Kissing Strangers 100/1, 8,000 gns yearling, Inns of Court colt. Half-brother to 7f winner Kodiac Brown Bear. Fifth of 8 in maiden at Leicester (7f, good, 20/1) on debut 12 days ago. Needs to improve. Finished upside Testimonial when both were well held in a modest maiden at Leicester. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (350/1 -250%) Benjamin Brodie |
350/1(-250%) | (1) Benjamin Brodie 350/1, Foaled February 9. Cable Bay gelding. Dam, of little account, half-sister to smart winner up to 7f Deposer. Gelded ahead of debut and he wouldn't be the obvious answer to this. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
BRASTIAS was not disgraced when sixth on his debut over 7f at Haydock on Saturday and he could be hard to beat with the benefit of that experience. Kissing Strangers (fifth) and Testimonial (fourth) were only separated by a short head on their respective debuts at Leicester and have to be of interest, while any market support for What's She At would have to be noted.
Not a strong-looking maiden and it would be no surprise to see WHAT'S SHE AT make a successful start for Archie Watson. Brastias will surely benefit from further but can build on Saturday's Haydock introduction and take a hand. Mayor of Maghera is another newcomer to note and the betting should be revealing.
It was a Class 2 maiden last weekend at Haydock in which BRASTIAS shaped with significant promise during a troubled run.

CHESNEYS CHARM showed plenty of promise when filling fourth place on his racecourse bow at Leicester 12 days ago and Michael Bell's colt gets the vote on the back of that performance. Rex Carver also has the ability to go well but may lack the scope for improvement the selection has. Others to consider are Enchanted Eye, Glitterati and Green Icon.
CHESNEYS CHARM offered something to work on when fourth in a maiden at Leicester and, with that experience likely to bring him forward, he may well be up to opening his account now fitted with a visor. Enchanted Eye is the danger on form and Green Icon appeals as an interesting newcomer.
There's enough encouragement on paper to hope GREEN ICON can register Owen Burrows' first 2yo 2024 win, ahead of Chesneys Charm.

9/2(+25%) | (6) Campaign Medal 9/2, Fair maiden. Tongue tied when posting a good third of 6 in handicap at Haydock (10.2f, firm) 20 days ago. Cheekpieces on now and needs considering with this longer distance a likely plus. Yet to threaten but well bred and in top hands; could take big step forward at some stage. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (7/2 +30%) Secret Beach |
7/2(+30%) | (5) Secret Beach 7/2, Lightly-raced maiden who had tongue strap on for 1st time when a very good fourth of 13 in handicap at Goodwood (9.9f, good) 13 days ago, faring best of those held up. Can go well again stepped up in trip. Kept on for 4th over 1m2f on handicap debut and today's trip could prompt further progress. |

3rd (4) (33/1 -2540%) Starshine Legend |
33/1(-2540%) | (4) Starshine Legend 33/1, Promising Sea The Stars gelding who had cheekpieces on for 1st time when going in on his handicap debut at Catterick (12.1f, good to firm) 19 days ago. Well on top at the finish there so leading claims despite a 5 lb rise. Won on handicap debut at Catterick and this unexposed 3yo is bred to do better still. |

4th (2) (28/1 -75%) Polar Princess |
28/1(-75%) | (2) Polar Princess 28/1, Winner at Newcastle in February but tongue strap on for 1st time when last of 9 in handicap at Catterick (12.1f, good to soft) 9 days ago. Needs to get back on track. Won at Newcastle (AW) in February but below par on her three runs since. |

5th (1) (100/1 -4344%) Gold Aura |
100/1(-4344%) | (1) Gold Aura 100/1, Still a maiden but he posted a good second of 7 in handicap at Yarmouth (11.5f, good to soft) 15 days ago. In the mix despite taking a 2 lb weights rise. 0-15 but running well and beaten just a head at Yarmouth last time; could be thereabouts. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
STARSHINE LEGEND was strong in the market when attempting to leave his three qualifying runs behind him on his handicap bow at Catterick and didn't disappoint, relishing the step up to this trip to score with a little bit up his sleeve. The runner-up has since gone one better to frank the form, and James Ferguson's gelding can follow suit. Gold Aura will surely get a deserved win on the board soon, although she is being punished for her consistency and perhaps Campaign Medal, in first-time cheekpieces, is the primary threat.
STARSHINE LEGEND took his form up a level when making a winning handicap bow at Catterick and can make light of a 5lb weight rise with more to come from this son of Sea The Stars. Secret Beach looks the one to give James Ferguson's gelding most to do now his stamina is unlocked more, although in-form pair Campaign Medal and Gold Aura can have a say too in an intriguing handicap.
190,000euros yearling STARSHINE LEGEND made a winning start in handicaps at Catterick this month and is taken to follow up.

Closely related to winner up to 1m Danarosa and 2-y-o 7f winner Too Clever and half-sister to 7f-9f winner Mosgiel. 100/1, third of 6 in maiden at Pontefract (6f, good) on debut 17 days ago, green. 7f will suit. Promising debut over 6f; can improve for the experience and 7f; yard in form. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
WEDADI showed plenty of promise when fifth in a competitive event over 7f at Leicester on her debut 12 days ago and that performances suggests that she is the one to beat here. However, Heartened outran odds of 100/1 to fill third place on her racecourse bow at Pontefract and Ollie Pears' filly should not be discounted. In A Hurry and Louie The Legend are the pick of the newcomers.
This can go to a newcomer, with LOUIE THE LEGEND, In A Hurry and Kings Square preferred in that order on paper before market clues.
Those with experience don't set the bar too high but HEARTENED looks sure to improve on her mild debut promise now upped to 7f.

4/1(-382%) | (4) Blessed Honour 4/1, Promising type. Second of 6 in minor event (11/4) at Newmarket (12f, good) 40 days ago. Has the best form and there's more to come, so will take all the beating. Second of six from off the pace at Newmarket (1m4f, good) gives her a good form chance. |

2nd (1) (5/2 +9%) Power Of Destiny |
5/2(+9%) | (1) Power Of Destiny 5/2, Won 13-runner maiden (6/1) at Haydock (10.2f, good) 21 days ago, always holding on. 66/1(-1220%) | (5) Daylight Chorus 66/1, Once-raced maiden. Fourth of 12 in minor event at Chelmsford City (10f, 25/1) on debut 21 days ago, slowly away. Likely big improver, so definitely of interest. 25-1 at Chelmsford (1m2f, AW) three weeks ago but showed ability in fourth of 12. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Power Of Destiny confirmed her debut promise when getting off the mark at Haydock three weeks ago and has to be of interest. However, she may struggle to give 7lb to BLESSED HONOUR, who took a big step forward when a close second to a stablemate over 1m4f at Newmarket. The drop in trip should help the daughter of Dubawi and she remains open to further progression. Daylight Chorus is another to consider.
BLESSED HONOUR shaped best behind a stablemate at Newmarket last time and she's likely to go on progressing, so she's an obvious choice to get the better of Daylight Chorus, who was doing some good late work at Chelmsford. Power of Destiny, the only winner in the field, is another one to bear in mind.
This is between BLESSED HONOUR and Power Of Destiny, who could both turn out to be pretty useful but the latter has to give 7lb.

Placed in novices at Lingfield and Newcastle but found only minor promise switched to turf when fourth of 14 in 7f maiden at Leicester 47 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Tongue strap on for handicap debut. More required. Hasn't lived up to illustrious pedigree but possible improver now sprinting on h'cap debut. |

2nd (1) (10/3 -48%) Drama |
10/3(-48%) | (1) Drama 10/3, Proved better than ever in first-time cheekpieces when winning 10-runner handicap at Kempton (6f) 15 days ago, staying on to lead final 50 yds. 3 lb rise may not be enough to prevent the follow up. Back on song with a win at Kempton a fortnight ago; strong claims if repeating that form. |

3rd (4) (9/1 +10%) Maximum Impact |
9/1(+10%) | (4) Maximum Impact 9/1, Won first 2 starts in 2023 but has gone the wrong way since, including in handicaps this year. Plenty to prove. Soundly beaten this spring in his two handicaps; gelded since; needs to turn things around. |

4th (6) (13/2 -136%) Infinity Blue |
13/2(-136%) | (6) Infinity Blue 13/2, Fair maiden who shaped well on the back of a breathing operation when second of 12 in handicap at Chester (6.1f, good) 13 days ago, albeit no match for winner. Hood on for 1st time and must enter calculations. 0-7 but back to form when second at Chester recently and he's on the shortlist. |

5th (3) (80/1 -900%) Nazalan |
80/1(-900%) | (3) Nazalan 80/1, 2-y-o winner who ran below form when third of 5 in handicap at Yarmouth (7f, good to soft, 15/2) 31 days ago. Needs to better recent efforts. Hasn't really threatened in his 3 handicaps but not written off now back on better ground. |

6th (2) (50/1 -614%) Bengurion |
50/1(-614%) | (2) Bengurion 50/1, Invincible Army filly who won only start as a 2-y-o and improved to make it 2-2 under a penalty on return in 11-runner Kempton novice (7f) in May, displaying a likeable attitude. Ran poorly on turf/handicap debut at Hamilton, however. Won first two starts (both AW) then well beaten on turf/handicap debut; something to prove. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
As a half-brother to superstar Baaeed and King George hero Hukum, WALEEFY is always going to attract a certain degree of attention. He has shown glimpses of the family talent in his three starts to far, for all that he has gone down as favourite on each occasion, and an initial mark of 76 should be well within range. Bearing in mind what his illustrious siblings achieved, 6f could be on the sharp side and if he does lack the required pace, recent Kempton winner Drama should be well up to capitalising. Maximum Impact has slipped to an interesting mark.
DRAMA proved better than ever in first-time cheekpieces when edging a tight finish at Kempton 15 days ago and a 3 lb rise may not be enough to prevent the follow up providing the headgear continues to have the same effect. Infinity Blue shaped well on the back of a breathing operation at Chester recently and is second choice.
Preference is for INFINITY BLUE who returned to form with a good second at Chester last time. Drama is a danger.

VEYDARI's 200,000gns price tag at the Craven Breeze-Ups didn't go unnoticed because he was sent off a warm favourite for his Haydock introduction. Although he had to settle for sixth, the experience won't be lost on him and the form of that race appears decent. Commander Atkinson offered encouragement at Nottingham, while Atomic Mass's York debut was better than his second performance on the Knavesmire. Bowen Island cost 80,000 euros as a yearling and is the pick of the newcomers.
VEYDARI failed to justify strong support on debut at Haydock 3 weeks ago but it was by no means an effort devoid of promise and he'll surely know more this time. He looks the way to go, for all Commander Atkinson caught the eye on debut, while Fred On Fire is perhaps the pick of the newcomers.
Richard Fahey's VEYDARI warrants another chance as there appeared to be plenty of confidence behind him at Haydock.

Tongue strap back on and he's a must for the shortlist. Recaptured form since wind op, winning on AW and had a shocking run on turf latest. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
There was more encouragement to take from TARAVARA's latest fourth over 1m2f here and the drop in distance/class should help. Simon Pearce's gelding appears to have been found a suitable opportunity to land a first success on turf. The biggest threat may be posed by Lunarscape, who was a solid fifth at Chelmsford when last seen, while first-time blinkers could result in an improved bid from Red Treasure.
The vote goes to COVERT LEGEND, who was caught in a cul-de-sac at a crucial stage at Thirsk last month and he is appealing off the same mark. Lunarscape could be the one to follow him home, with Taravara also accorded respect.
This can go to COVERT LEGEND (nap) who has been all the better for wind surgery, winning on the AW before having a terrible run on turf.

Seventh of 13 in maiden (9/1) at Yarmouth (7f, good to soft) on debut 15 days ago, unable to sustain effort after travelling well. Should have more to offer. 300/1(-200%) | (2) C'mon Pompey 300/1, Study of Man filly. Always behind in 2 minor events. Very hard to fancy on qualifying run. Made debut last month and well beaten at big odds on both starts. |

80/1(-967%) | (6) Old Grey Whistle 80/1, Muhaarar filly. Half-sister to several winners, including smart 1m winner History Writer and useful winner up to 1m Blenheim Boy. Offered something to work when fifth of 12 in maiden (40/1) at Nottingham (8.3f, good) on debut 25 days ago. May well do better. Has a useful pedigree and there can be optimism she'll improve upon her encouraging debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (250/1 -279%) Explosively |
250/1(-279%) | (3) Explosively 250/1, Expert Eye filly. Ran a moody race in first-time visor when fourth of 5 in maiden at Lingfield (7f, good to firm) 19 days ago. Can't be fancied after that. Down the field on sole 2yo outing and same story on recent reappearance. |

200/1(-203%) | (4) Hallie Angel 200/1, Harry Angel filly. Half-sister to several winners, notably smart 6f winner Staxton. Only poor form in 2 outings to date and will have more chance when handicapping. 33-1 then 50-1 on first two starts, and soundly beaten each time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (100/1 -1150%) Swiss Cabaret |
100/1(-1150%) | (7) Swiss Cabaret 100/1, Showcasing filly. Closely related to useful 1m winner Swiss Knight, and half-sister to useful 2-y-o 5f winner Poetry and 2-y-o 6f winner Poet. 17/2, eighth of 13 in maiden at Yarmouth (7f, good to soft) on debut 15 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Should progress. Only eighth on recent debut but in top hands and could post much more of a threat today. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Any market support for 265,000gns newcomer Heart Of The City must be noted, particularly considering how well George Boughey's string is faring at present. However, TAREEFA offered plenty to work with when fourth at Haydock earlier in the month and that race experience could prove crucial. Old Grey Whistle is also entitled to build on her opening fifth at Nottingham and she completes the shortlist.
TAREEFA produced a promising first effort and Haydock on debut and would likely have finished second had she enjoyed a clear run, so rates as the one to beat after such an encouraging debut. Old Grey Whistle also showed ability on her first outing and could prove the main danger, with expensive-newcomer Heart of The City also worth considering,
This could be a good opening for TAREEFA who displayed plenty of promise when fourth on her debut at Haydock three weeks ago.

2nd (8) (25/1 -39%) Catch The Paddy |
25/1(-39%) | (8) Catch The Paddy 25/1, A fairly useful 7f scorer in 2023 but he's yet to fire this term, beating only one on each occasion at Newmarket and York. Others appeal more. Gelded after two poor runs this season and he's very light on AW experience. |

3rd (10) (66/1 -200%) Austrian Theory |
66/1(-200%) | (10) Austrian Theory 66/1, Scored over 8.5f at Epsom last June for Charlie Johnston. Well down the field on debut for this stable in a 7f York handicap. |

33/1(-313%) | (9) Farasi Lane 33/1, Had a good spell on AW since joining this yard and wasn't discredited when mid-field in a 15-runner Sandown handicap 12 days ago. Can't be dismissed. Entitled to run well but has no margin for error off current mark. |

5th (2) (100/1 -1329%) Lattam |
100/1(-1329%) | (2) Lattam 100/1, Failed to build on good reappearance second in the Lincoln at Doncaster for new yard when only eighth at Newbury (8f, good) 68 days ago. Took this 12 months ago though so can't be discounted. Won this last year for different yard; this season's Lincoln 2nd was a notable effort. |

6th (5) (100/1 -1900%) Brunch |
100/1(-1900%) | (5) Brunch 100/1, C&D winner who made a promising return when a strong-finishing fourth in 1m Nottingham handicap 25 days ago. Very good claims off an unchanged mark. Good mark and ran well in this last year; lots to like about reappearance effort. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (200/1 -1329%) Helm Rock |
200/1(-1329%) | (3) Helm Rock 200/1, C&D winner but he came in only eleventh of 15 in handicap (28/1) at Sandown (8f, good to soft) 12 days ago. Needs to bounce back. He could be sharper for Sandown (good race) which came after 166 days away. |

8th (6) (100/1 -1076%) Navagio |
100/1(-1076%) | (6) Navagio 100/1, A useful 1m/9,5f winner in Ireland and not discredited when fifth of 9 in handicap at Sandown (8f, soft) 35 days ago. Makes tapeta debut with tongue strap back on. Possibilities. Placed in this season's Lincoln but hasn't been able to kick on from there. |

9th (1) (350/1 -2817%) Chichester |
350/1(-2817%) | (1) Chichester 350/1, Better than ever on AW last winter and took form to another level when winning listed event at York in June. Signed off with a poor run in Superior Mile at Haydock in September for Charlie Johnston but he's the sort to bounce back for his new yard. Absent since September and it's never going to be easy off his inflated mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) (400/1 -2400%) Bear Force One |
400/1(-2400%) | (7) Bear Force One 400/1, Quirky sort who won two 1m handicaps for Roger Teal last year. No forlorn hope on his first run for 9 months/new yard. He won on last year's comeback and isn't badly handicapped at all. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (11) (450/1 -2150%) Gunlock |
450/1(-2150%) | (11) Gunlock 450/1, Lightly-raced C&D winner but only fourteenth of 16 on his handicap debut at York (7f, good to soft) 13 days ago. More is required from 1 lb out of the handicap. Lightly raced C&D winner; moves back up in trip but more to prove than some of these. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (4) (100/1 -456%) All The King's Men |
100/1(-456%) | (4) All The King's Men 100/1, Yet to hit top form this term and he was reluctant to race when last of 9 in handicap at Nottingham (8.3f, good) 25 days ago. Cheekpieces go back on with lots to prove. Doesn't come here in the best of form and this is a tough race in which to bounce back. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
Sean D Bowen has been advertising his talents in the saddle and is an interesting booking for ELNAJMM. William Haggas' well-related four-year-old hasn't been seen since breaking through at Lingfield last August, but his three seconds prior to that came at the hands of smart performers. Lattam won this for Haggas 12 months ago and started off for his new stable with a cracking second in the Lincoln, when a position ahead of Navagio, before a satisfactory display in Newbury's Spring Cup. Brunch didn't get a lot of luck on his Nottingham comeback and has a good all-weather record. Gunlock should be happier back on Tapeta too.
William Haggas took this 12 months ago and is taken to repeat the feat with his low-mileage 4-y-o ELNAJMM returning on a good mark for his handicap debut with the prospect of more to come. C&D scorer Brunch rates a big threat on the back of his eye-catching Nottingham fourth, while last year's victor Lattam and in-form duo Farasi Lane and Navagio are also in the picture.
Elnajmm is of obvious interest but BRUNCH was unlucky in this last year and returns after a really likeable reappearance.

A 5lb rise in the ratings for MISS STORMY NIGHT's opening victory at Salisbury may prove to be on the lenient side. The second and third have both given the form a boost and a double could be on the cards for Clive Cox's filly. Catterick winner Dusk Dame enters handicaps off what looks a workable mark and she may serve the most resistance to the selection. Noisy Music should enjoy the return to 6f.
Having made a successful debut for her current stable at Windsor, NOISY MUSIC had excuses at Thirsk last time, so she's fancied to resume winning ways stepping back up in trip. Last-time-out winners Miss Stormy Night and Dusk Dame look the main dangers.
The three horses who have won this year can fight this out. Preference is for NOISY MUSIC, while Miss Stormy Night is second best.

1st (8) (8/1 -14%) Darkness |
8/1(-14%) | (8) Darkness 8/1, Respectable third of 8 in handicap (4/1) at Goodwood (7f, good to firm) 18 days ago. Poor strike rate but his sole career win did come at this track, so capable of making an impact if things drop right. Ran well when third at Goodwood last time and his last win came here; chance. |

2nd (10) (25/1 -108%) Waiting All Night |
25/1(-108%) | (10) Waiting All Night 25/1, Hasn't won for a while and, while he's been performing respectably, he's been shaping like further will suit. Has run some good races over the last 12 months (including C&D) but has poor strike-rate. |

3rd (3) (7/1 -27%) Toimy Son |
7/1(-27%) | (3) Toimy Son 7/1, Back on track when good second of 12 in handicap at Goodwood on penultimate outing and race didn't pan out right when only fourth there next time. Can get involved if the pace is strong. 0-9 in Britain but in good heart at Goodwood the last twice and could be thereabouts. |

4th (9) (14/1 -17%) Able Kane |
14/1(-17%) | (9) Able Kane 14/1, Down to a handy mark and looked back in form when fourth at Chepstow last time. Return of blinkers could bring a further resurgence out of him and he's tasted success here before. On a reduced mark and the return of headgear, and to this C&D, could both be positives. |

5th (7) (100/1 -1011%) Mitrosonfire |
100/1(-1011%) | (7) Mitrosonfire 100/1, Hasn't won for a while but benefited from the drop in grade when runner-up at Leicester 23 days ago. On a fair mark if he can build on that. Two-time course winner who was beaten just a neck at Leicester most recently; player. |

6th (5) (40/1 -233%) Persuasion |
40/1(-233%) | (5) Persuasion 40/1, Capable from this mark on his day but slow starts are an ongoing issue (blew his chance at Hamilton last time) and this track isn't ideal for him. Three-time 7f winner who is on a handy mark; capable of having a say now back up in trip. |

7th (2) (11/2 +45%) Havana Blue |
11/2(+45%) | (2) Havana Blue 11/2, Stepped up on his reappearance (after a wind operation) when sixth at Doncaster last time. C&D winner in the past and handicapper has dropped him, so not without hope. C&D winner who was a close sixth at Doncaster this month and might not be far away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (40/1 -471%) Benacre |
40/1(-471%) | (4) Benacre 40/1, Not the most reliable and had the run of things when third at Nottingham a fortnight ago. Cheekpieces back on but he's not guaranteed to reproduce that form. Back to form with close third over about 1m at Nottingham; should be fine back down to 7f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (100/1 -1011%) Ararat |
100/1(-1011%) | (6) Ararat 100/1, C&D winner. 5/2, career best when winning 5-runner handicap on Rowley course (7f, good), easily. Goes well at the track and should make a better 4yo, so claims if he's tuned up after 9 months off. First run of the year but he was progressive last season (C&D winner); respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (11) (100/1 -525%) Lord Rapscallion |
100/1(-525%) | (11) Lord Rapscallion 100/1, Scored on Rowley course last May and, while more miss than hit since, his latest sixth at Nottingham was a step back in the right direction and he should benefit from a return to this trip. Encouraging sixth over 6f at Nottingham latest and not ruled out now back up to best trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
The progressive Ararat capped off last year's campaign with a comfortable victory on the Rowley Mile and, racing off an 8lb higher mark, he isn't taken lightly on his return to action. However, DARKNESS' last career victory came on the July Course and a 1lb drop in the ratings for his recent placed effort at Goodwood will really help the six-year-old. Benacre is also worth a second look.
TOIMY SON is the pick of the weights and could come good if the leaders overdo it, and Able Kane is worthy of consideration, along with Darkness.
The reapplication of blinkers and return to this C&D could be positives for ABLE KANE, who is 7lb lower than for last June's win here.

16/1(-100%) | (11) Barleybrown 16/1, Unreliable individual. C&D winner. 13/2, eighth of 12 in handicap at Beverley (8.4f, soft) 29 days ago, slowly away. Can give a good account without posing serious threat to principals. Not entirely straightforward but has a big run in him; soft ground an excuse last time. |

Hopes pinned on the first-time blinkers sparking improvement. Limited maiden and new blinkers will need to make the world of difference. |

350/1(-2817%) | (14) Copper Mountain 350/1, Tenth of 11 in handicap at Nottingham (10.2f, good, 15/2) 14 days ago. Back down in trip and likely she will be seen in a better light back on the AW, albeit without being quite good enough. Well over two years since she won a handicap; others preferred. |

14th (8) (350/1 -2088%) Glory Call |
350/1(-2088%) | (8) Glory Call 350/1, Cheekpieces on for 1st time, ninth of 12 in handicap (13/2) at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 23 days ago. Significantly back up in trip and he's opposable. Has looked out of sorts this campaign and has questions to answer at 1m. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Flying Panther justified favouritism with the minimum of fuss in a classified event at Wolverhampton last week, but he was beaten in handicaps prior to that so a penalty doesn't exactly make life easy. STOIC SYD has been sent off favourite on each of his last four appearances, winning the first two, and his latest third at Wolverhampton came after a break so he is fancied to take the necessary step forward. Tees George is edging back towards the winner's enclosure, and Masham Moor is worth a look as well.
Several to consider, with STOIC SYD marginally preferred having performed with credit following a three-month break upped to 9.5f at Wolverhampton. This drop back in trip will be in his favour and he's now 1 lb lower in the weights. Specialist View failed to make an impact on turf last time but is feared now returned to the AW, while Tees George is third choice ahead of Balqaa.
It was a classified race that FLYING PANTHER won last week and he carries a penalty, but that was pretty comfortable.

14/1(+13%) | (6) Snow Berry 14/1, Course winner. 20/1, ninth of 10 in handicap at Thirsk (5f, good to firm) 20 days ago. Would have a chance if able to bounce back to something like her best. Twice ran moderately in the space of six days this month and needs to improve.. |

2nd (2) (9/4 +0%) Mrs Trump |
9/4(+0%) | (2) Mrs Trump 9/4, Creditable second of 11 in handicap (3/1) at this C&D (good) 14 days ago, faring best of those held up. Clearly in good heart and she's likely to be in the thick of things once again. Won at Redcar and Leicester in the last eight weeks, and beaten a neck last time.. |

3rd (8) (14/1 -133%) The Grey Lass |
14/1(-133%) | (8) The Grey Lass 14/1, One win from 28 Flat runs. Respectable fifth of 11 in handicap at this C&D (good, 15/2) 14 days ago. Not without each-way hope. Ran well here two weeks ago when fifth but is 1-28.. |

11/1(-300%) | (1) Dunnington Lad 11/1, Won 10-runner handicap (33/1) at Ripon (5f, good) 8 days ago. Obvious claims under a penalty if able to back that up. Sprang a surprise when making all at Ripon eight days ago back on turf.. |

6th (5) (28/1 -331%) Dandy Fitz |
28/1(-331%) | (5) Dandy Fitz 28/1, Winner at Catterick in May. 12/1, bit below form eleventh of 19 in handicap at Thirsk (5f, good) 11 days ago. Needs a couple of these to falter. Has improved this year and got off the mark at Catterick last month.. |

7th (7) (10/1 +50%) Ohnojoe |
10/1(+50%) | (7) Ohnojoe 10/1, Twelve runs since last win in 2022. 6/1 and blinkered for 1st time, eighth of 11 in handicap at Beverley (5f, soft) 29 days ago, slowly away. Bit to prove at present. Beaten 9l at Beverley last month; doesn't look up to winning races at present.. |

8th (4) (50/1 -614%) Suanni |
50/1(-614%) | (4) Suanni 50/1, Latest win at Lingfield in April. Sixth of 9 in handicap at Bath (5f, good, 6/1) 12 days ago. Just 1 lb above his last winning mark and he has to enter calculations. Better on AW and won at Lingfield in April; not so good on turf since.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
MRS TRUMP lost little in defeat when touched off over C&D a couple of weeks ago. The daughter of James Garfield is only 2lb higher than for her cosy triumph at Leicester nine days earlier and compensation could beckon. Last week's surprise Ripon winner Dunnington Lad, who shoulders a 5lb penalty, should give another good account, while Twayblade is likely to prove more competitive on this drop into a 0-55 contest.
DUNNINGTON LAD returned to form from out of the blue when making all at Ripon recently and he will take some stopping under a penalty here if in a similar mood. He certainly won't have things all his own way, though, with the in-form Mrs Trump in opposition, while cases can also be made for Suanni and The Grey Lass.
The filly MRS TRUMP has been in fine form with two wins this year and can go in again. Dandy Fitz can follow her home.

1st (2) (6/1 -167%) Composite |
6/1(-167%) | (2) Composite 6/1, Back-to-back winner on the AW during the winter and, following a couple of disappointing displays, he got back in track in first-time blinkers (retained) when going close at Windsor (1m, good to firm) recently. Able to race off 2 lb lower here (due to go up 6 lb) and he's the one to beat. Went close at Windsor recently and able to run off 2lb lower today; key player. |

2nd (4) (10/3 -11%) Jayyash |
10/3(-11%) | (4) Jayyash 10/3, Opened account in 1m Kempton novice before posting an excellent second in handicap there when not ideally placed in May. Far from disgraced when third of 7 in handicap at York (10.2f, good) latest and merits respect with this drop back in trip a potentially good move. Visor applied. Needs more than when third at York last time but remains lightly raced and is in top hands. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (100/1 -1567%) Winterfair |
100/1(-1567%) | (6) Winterfair 100/1, Narrow winner of Wolverhampton novice on second start and ran well under a penalty when third at Lingfield on return. Wasn't seen to best effect on subsequent handicap debut at Haydock (1m, good) and she's likely to do better at some point soon. Fair fourth on handicap debut at Haydock; lightly raced and in good hands to progress. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (100/1 -1011%) Ribal |
100/1(-1011%) | (3) Ribal 100/1, Off the mark in a Chelmsford maiden in February but he's been rather muted back in handicap company since. Won AW maiden in February but unable to seriously threaten back in handicaps since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (40/1 -700%) Pearl Eye |
40/1(-700%) | (1) Pearl Eye 40/1, Four-time winner at up to 8.5f last term and perfect start to this season when striking at Pontefract (1m, soft). Creditable efforts at around 1¼m since and, with this drop back in trip a plus, he should have a part to play. Drops back in trip and a steady pace would be a worry, but he arrives in good heart. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (100/1 -2400%) Transitioning |
100/1(-2400%) | (5) Transitioning 100/1, Good pedigree and made a winning start to his career in a 6-runner maiden at Doncaster (7f, good to soft) last month. Wasn't beaten far when fourth in a big-field handicap at Wetherby since but more will certainly be needed if he's to emerge on top here. Won on debut last month before solid fourth under penalty; brings potential to h'cap debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
The George Boughey yard can do little wrong at present, and this looks like an ideal opportunity for COMPOSITE to regain the winning thread following a narrow defeat when dropped back to this distance at Windsor. Successful at Doncaster on debut, Transitioning could not follow up under a penalty at Wetherby but has to be of interest on his handicap debut. Jayyash must also be considered on the drop in grade after a respectable effort over further at York.
This looks ripe for COMPOSITE, who is officially 6 lb 'well-in' following his close call with blinkers enlisted at Windsor where he pulled clear with the in-form winner. A reproduction of that will make him hard to beat. Jayyash wasn't disgraced at York last time and he will be a threat if responding well to the first-time visor, while Pearl Eye also enters calculations.
The 3yos are open to improvement but this could go to COMPOSITE, who can run off a mark 2lb lower than when going close at Windsor.

1st (3) (15/2 -67%) Cast No Shadow |
15/2(-67%) | (3) Cast No Shadow 15/2, C&D winner. Winner here in March. 12/1, last of 7 in handicap at Catterick (5f, soft) 64 days ago. Will benefit from the return to this surface and can't be dismissed. Well beaten on turf on last 2 runs but this C&D winner could stage revival now back on AW. |

6/1(+25%) | (4) Ticktyboo 6/1, Bit below form fourth of 8 in handicap at Ripon (6f, good, 20/1) 8 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Makes tapeta debut. Not discounted. 0-9 but went close at Redcar last month & didn't run badly last time; could be thereabouts. |

3rd (9) (6/1 +8%) Brummell |
6/1(+8%) | (9) Brummell 6/1, Latest win at Beverley in May. 11/2, ninth of 10 in handicap at Thirsk (6f, good to firm) 20 days ago. Seems to have quickly lost his form. Disappointing the last twice but progressive previously and could bounce back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (40/1 -186%) Restless Prince |
40/1(-186%) | (2) Restless Prince 40/1, Lightly-raced winner. Winner at Catterick in April. Fourteenth of 15 in handicap at Haydock (6f, good to soft, 50/1) 33 days ago. Something to find on form. Well beaten on last month's handicap debut but showed promise previously and not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (7/1 -180%) Stash The Cash |
7/1(-180%) | (10) Stash The Cash 7/1, Winner at Catterick in April. Third of 5 in handicap (5/2) at Leicester (5f, good) 12 days ago. Makes tapeta debut. Likely to be on the premises. Respectable efforts the last twice (including behind Pilgrim) and might not be far away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (33/1 -267%) Biographer |
33/1(-267%) | (8) Biographer 33/1, Winner at Lingfield in January. 25/1, respectable fifth of 12 in handicap at Chester (6.1f, good) 13 days ago. Soundly beaten on turf on last three runs but perhaps the return to AW will help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (18/1 +28%) Pearl Abbey |
18/1(+28%) | (6) Pearl Abbey 18/1, Winner at Wolverhampton in March. Last of 8 in handicap at Haydock (6f, good, 20/1) 21 days ago. Has a bit to prove on the back of that but return to tapeta should help. Well beaten on h'cap debut on turf; this Tapeta maiden winner retains potential back on AW. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (300/1 -4186%) Torvar |
300/1(-4186%) | (7) Torvar 300/1, C&D winner. Latest win here in February. 18/1, seventh of 9 in handicap at Lingfield (6f, AW) 30 days ago. Not firing on all cylinders at present. Won off 2lb higher over C&D in February but not at the top of his game more recently. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (33/1 -371%) Rainyniteingeorgia |
33/1(-371%) | (1) Rainyniteingeorgia 33/1, Lightly-raced winner. First run since leaving William Jarvis when respectable third of 7 in handicap (9/1) at Goodwood (5f, good to firm) 33 days ago. Should strip fitter for that and looks of interest on tapeta debut. 2yo 5f Polytrack winner; form of handicap debut third at Goodwood has worked out well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) (150/1 -838%) Boardroom |
150/1(-838%) | (5) Boardroom 150/1, Blinkered for 1st time, seventh of 11 in nursery (17/2) at Wolverhampton (5.1f). Off 7 months. Likely to strip fitter for the run. Promising start to career last summer but struggled subsequently; makes reappearance. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
RAINYNITEINGEORGIA ended last season with a novice win on the Polytrack at Lingfield and has subsequently switched yards. Alice Haynes' charge caught the eye making late headway to finish third at Goodwood on her reappearance and handicap debut, and could go close with normal improvement. A better effort is expected from Brummell back over the minimum trip having won at Beverley last month, while Torvar returns to this venue for the first time since winning over C&D back in February.
RAINYNITEINGEORGIA made a respectable start for her new yard at Goodwood and, with the benefit of a recent run, she should have enough to capitalise on a drop in grade switched to tapeta. Stash The Cash arrives in good order and looks a danger, while Cast No Shadow is likely to make more impact back on tapeta.
Topweight RAINYNITEINGEORGIA (nap) was an encouraging third at Goodwood on last month's reappearance and she's the selection.

9/2(-80%) | (6) Red Force One 9/2, Cashed in on a reduced mark at Musselburgh (16f) earlier this month and followed up in determined fashion at Redcar (14f, good to firm) 5 days ago. Can race off same mark and holds strong claims. Bids for third win in two weeks and has the same mark as latest outing (due to go up 3lb). |

10/3(-67%) | (7) Pfingstberg 10/3, Suited by change to positive tactics when taking 7-runner handicap (5/2) at Lingfield (16.3f, good to firm) 19 days ago. 5 lb higher now but not taken lightly. 11th race when off the mark at Lingfield (2m, good to firm) latest, comfortably making all. |

3rd (3) (6/1 -33%) My Chiquita |
6/1(-33%) | (3) My Chiquita 6/1, Scored twice over hurdles last term and ran up to her best, returned to Flat, when second of 7 in handicap at Doncaster (14.5f, good to firm) 26 days ago. Likely to go well again. Good runs (hurdles/Flat) on last two outings, beaten a neck at Doncaster (14.5f) on latest. |

4th (1) (20/1 -300%) Churchella |
20/1(-300%) | (1) Churchella 20/1, Recorded a third win of the year when opening her turf account in 10-runner handicap at Doncaster (14.5f) last month and posted creditable efforts since, latest when sixth of 15 in handicap at Thirsk (14f, good, 11/1) 11 days ago, left with lot to do. Respected. Gained first turf win at Doncaster in May and there have been two creditable runs since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (40/1 -627%) Dereham |
40/1(-627%) | (5) Dereham 40/1, Made little impact on return at Chelmsford 3 weeks ago but has won this contest (off similar marks) for the last 2 years and has surely been aimed at it once more. Unraced on firmer than good for over two years; however, he won this race in 2022 and 2023. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (80/1 -220%) Cabrakan |
80/1(-220%) | (4) Cabrakan 80/1, Not scored on Flat for almost 2 years and there was little encouragement in his recent yard debut at Pontefract. Significantly up in trip. His significant Flat form was in 2022; tailed off on recent return to Flat for new yard. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
This can go the way of RED FORCE ONE, who has hit a rich vein of form of late with a pair of comfortable victories, and he escapes a penalty for last weekend's triumph in an apprentices' race at Redcar. My Chiquita (second) had Churchella (fourth) just over two lengths behind when narrowly denied at Doncaster and she can uphold that form on the rise in distance. Pfingstberg is another to note after deservedly breaking the maiden at Lingfield.
RED FORCE ONE arrives in fine form and carries no penalty for last week's Redcar victory. He can score again. Dereham is chasing a hat-trick in this event and has been given a chance by the handicapper, whilst Lingfield winner Pfingstberg will be dangerous if allowed to set his own pace again.
Preference is for PFINGSTBERG (nap) who has more to offer at 2m+ judged on his breakthrough win at Lingfield.

9th (7) (150/1 -275%) Ivynator |
150/1(-275%) | (7) Ivynator 150/1, 125/1, fair fifth of 8 in handicap hurdle at Bangor (19.6f, good) 19 days ago. No forlorn hope back in this sphere. Out of sorts in a handful of starts under both codes since last May; lots to prove. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
THE DANCING POET scored with something in hand at Catterick recently and he could make light work of a 4lb penalty. The Brian Ellison-trained gelding is effectively 1lb lower now that amateur rider Matt Brown can claim 5lb and he edges the vote ahead of the distance-dropping Tafsir. The five-year-old is returning to her last winning trip and her recent creditable efforts in defeat suggest that she won't be far away. Zephlyn and Rory The Cat are also noted.
THE DANCING POET scored with something to spare at Catterick last time and looks the way to go turned out under a 4 lb penalty. C&D winner Tafsir rates a big threat though on the back of his good Musselburgh second, with Southwell scorer Zephlyn also well in the mix on his return after a short break.
The vote goes to THE DANCING POET, who had plenty in hand when forging clear under Matt Brown at Catterick last week.

66/1(-100%) | (8) Locomotive 66/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 50/1, ninth of 11 in handicap at Wetherby (7f, good to soft) 16 days ago. Plenty to find on form. Unexposed after only four runs but did not land a significant blow on handicap debut. |

13th (11) (150/1 -971%) Lady Phoebe |
150/1(-971%) | (11) Lady Phoebe 150/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 22/1, seventh of 11 in minor event at this course (6f). Off 6 months. Makes handicap debut. Improvement required. Makes handicap debut after a layoff but displayed promise over C&D as a 2yo. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
MULCIBER came up against the progressive Prince Eric when runner-up at Southwell in March. He's recorded both wins so far at this track and looks capable of making a bold bid for his new trainer. Bulmer Bank is another to consider dropping in class on the back of creditable placed efforts at York and Chester, while Berry Clever has been in the mix lately and can figure again. Redcar runner-up Titainium remains unexposed and should have more to offer.
There should be more to come from TITAINIUM, who upped his game significantly when second at Redcar last week and can race off the same mark here. Bulmer Bank and Berry Clever rate the principal dangers.
Class-dropper BULMER BANK ought to find this easier than the recent handicaps at York and Chester in which he finished third.

Capo Vaticano |
(1) (9/4 -38%)9/4(-38%) | (1) Capo Vaticano 9/4, Won on debut at Chelmsford City in April. 9/4, found only minor progress when third of 7 in minor event at Hamilton (5f, good to soft) 53 days ago. Player in this company. Made all at Chelmsford (5f, AW) and ran very well under a penalty at Hamilton. |

18/1(+73%) | (4) River Edge 18/1, Twice-raced maiden. 28/1, last of 5 in minor event at Bath (5f, good) 12 days ago. Hooded for 1st time. Impossible to fancy on efforts so far. Well beaten at Brighton and Bath; has no obvious form claims and now goes in a hood. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
After making a successful beginning to her career at Chelmsford, CAPO VATICANO lost absolutely nothing in defeat when third to a couple of useful performers at Hamilton. Andrew Balding's speedy filly might be able to dictate terms to suit herself and if that is the case, she may not be for catching. Good Good Good had a subsequent winner back in third when winning at Yarmouth on debut and is the obvious threat. Her stablemate Kranjcar's price went down from 150,000gns as a yearling to 36,000gns last month, but he is still worth a look.
A match on paper, with Yarmouth debut winner GOOD GOOD GOOD preferred to Capo Vaticano, who matched her debut form when third at Hamilton. Newcomer Kranjcar is a default pick for third over River Edge, who has shown very little in 2 starts to date.
Capo Vaticano won't go down lightly but GOOD GOOD GOOD impressed at Yarmouth and she may be able to follow up.

7/2(+65%) | (3) I Got Soul 7/2, Twice-raced filly. 33/1, fifth of 7 in minor event at York (5f, good to soft) 13 days ago. Needs to raise her game. Shaped with promise on debut and subsequent York defeat not viewed too harshly. |

2nd (6) (16/1 -167%) Sands Of Dubai |
16/1(-167%) | (6) Sands Of Dubai 16/1, Twice-raced filly. Eleventh of 13 in minor event at Beverley (5f, good to firm, 25/1) 19 days ago. Sights lowered somewhat here and she showed enough on debut at Thirsk to suggest that she has a future. Found Hilary Needler too hot this month but there was clear promise on her debut. |

3rd (7) (14/1 -250%) Tippy Top |
14/1(-250%) | (7) Tippy Top 14/1, Once-raced filly. Last of 5 in maiden (40/1) at this C&D (good to firm) on debut 8 days ago. Only beaten 2 lengths and it wouldn't be the greatest of surprises if she were to step up on that here. Only beaten about 2l when last of five over C&D on debut and evidently has ability. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (33/1 -340%) River Blackwater |
33/1(-340%) | (5) River Blackwater 33/1, Once-raced filly. Eighth of 9 in maiden at Wetherby (5.5f, good to soft, 5/1) on debut 16 days ago. Looked very green on that occasion and she's probably more one for the longer term. Out of a 6f Group 2 2yo winner; make low-key debut this month but can improve. |

5th (2) (20/1 -964%) Hardlass |
20/1(-964%) | (2) Hardlass 20/1, Once-raced filly. 22/1, tenth of 13 in maiden at Newmarket (5f, good to firm) on debut 71 days ago. Showed early speed there and may well fare better with that experience to draw upon. Not disgraced in much stronger race than this on Newmarket debut in April. |

7th (4) (66/1 -2100%) Premium Pass |
66/1(-2100%) | (4) Premium Pass 66/1, Twice-raced filly. Last of 7 in maiden at Brighton (6f, good, 6/1) 9 days ago. Worth another chance given what she showed when third on debut over the same C&D last month. Good third on Brighton debut; disappointed after racing too freely on second start. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Although last on her racecourse debut over C&D recently, Tippy Top wasn't beaten far and she must enter calculations on this quick turnaround. However, there is a strong chance that this drop in trip will suit PREMIUM PASS and Archie Watson's filly is fancied to gain a breakthrough victory. Downgraded duo Hardlass and Sands Of Dubai also merit consideration in these calmer waters.
SANDS OF DUBAI was out of her depth in the Hilary Needler and, having showed signs of ability on her introduction at Thirsk, she looks the way to go in a maiden that probably won't take a great deal of winning. Premium Pass is second choice, while Hardlass and Tippy Top could also play a part.
The answer might be HARDLASS, who was sent to Newmarket to contest a good maiden on her debut in April and showed some speed.

7/2(-27%) | (1) Love Your Work 7/2, Twenty three runs since last win in 2022. Blinkers back on and shaped quite well when third of 11 in handicap (6/1) at Yarmouth (8f, soft) 36 days ago, running on. Claims if backing that up. Has better strike-rate on AW but did well to finish third on turf last month. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
RAVENGLASS went some way to putting an ordinary Chepstow display behind him when making the frame at Bath. He has performed well in defeat for much of this year and although his winless run stretches back to August 2022, recent Yarmouth third Love Your Work seems his biggest threat and that one hasn't managed to get his head in front for well over two years. Love Is A Rose is slowly finding her feet since joining Michael Wigham and is one to consider at potentially bigger odds.
RAVENGLASS deserves a win for these connections and taking on mainly out-of-form rivals here, this looks to be a really good opportunity. Love Your Work showed enough at Yarmouth last time to make him of interest, with Sparkle In His Eye another to consider.
Multiple AW winner LOVE YOUR WORK was arguably unlucky not to double his turf tally at Yarmouth last month and gets the nod.

100/1(-2757%) | (3) Mokaatil 100/1, Second of 4 in handicap at Yarmouth (6f, good to soft, 13/2) 15 days ago. Has edged down to a career-low mark and he's high on the shortlist. Nothing like the force of old but recent efforts have been respectable; likely contender. |

Now 1 lb lower than when going close here 4 starts back and will have a serious chance if reproducing that level of form. Not much has gone to plan in recent weeks but he went close over C&D in early May. |

Visor back on and he will be a threat if bouncing back to something like his best. Won this a year ago but has not really been firing on all cylinders lately. |

This drop into selling handicap company could prove just the tonic for MOKAATIL, who arrives on the back of a respectable placed effort at Brighton and a solid second at Yarmouth. Ian Williams' charge may not be the force of old, but he may have too much toe for these rivals. Zaphea rates as the obvious danger after hitting the frame in a 19-runner sprint at Thirsk recently, while an improved bid from One Of Our Own in a first-time visor wouldn't come as a surprise.
MOKAATIL is now 3 lb lower compared to when hitting the target at Wolverhampton in February and he could be the answer to this open-looking handicap. The 9-y-o may have most to fear from Honour Your Dreams, who boasts some solid C&D form and Zaphea also needs considering on the back of an admirable effort at Thirsk.
After a creditable third at Thirsk 11 days ago, ZAPHEA is selected to dominate this weaker field from the front.

66/1(-32%) | (10) Onemore Twomore 66/1, 50/1, first run since leaving Philip McBride when twelfth of 13 in handicap at Chelmsford City (14f) 21 days ago. Some positives can be drawn from her stable debut but she was well beaten in the end. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Hurtle loves to hear his hooves rattle and even the official good going at Brighton wasn't quick enough for him last time. He beat Alioski to the runner-up berth at Bath last month and is capable of much better but a safer option is TROJAN TRUTH, who justified favouritism with a determined display at Windsor and is only 2lb higher. Khangai was beaten just half a length into third over 1m2f at Nottingham, although he still needs to prove he stays this far.
HURTLE failed to justify strong support at Brighton last month but it was in higher band of handicap than this so he's fancied to get it right this time in a change of headgear. Connections of Churchill Rose also tinker with different equipment and she's very close to her previous winning mark, with Shield of Honour another to consider at likely longer odds back in trip.
This could be a good chance for CHURCHILL ROSE (nap) who was not beaten far on slower-than-ideal ground in a stronger race last month.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
MUTAMANNI made every yard to score at Leicester on his handicap debut. He looks capable of defying a 5lb rise and going in again, given his progressive profile and trainer George Boughey's excellent strike-rate at this venue. Zarzyni went close to ending a long losing run when beaten only a neck at Redcar and has to come into the reckoning, while Jordan Electrics has been in fine form so far this year.
The hat-trick seeking MUTAMANNI still has few miles on the clock and is narrowly preferred to Jordan Electrics who arrives at the top of his game. Never Dark has been given a chance by the handicapper and is also much respected.
Free-goer NEVER DARK has dropped to a tempting mark, and his recent Chester fourth suggested he is coming back to the boil.

50/1(-1329%) | (2) Alvesta 50/1, Improved again when second of 7 in handicap at Bath (10.2f, good) 12 days ago, going well when short of room, too. May have a bigger performance in her. Fared better when runner-up in first 1m2f handicap; further improvement not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (25/1 -39%) I Dare You |
25/1(-39%) | (4) I Dare You 25/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 33/1, ninth of 11 in handicap at Nottingham (8.3f, good) 14 days ago. May have needed that reappearance but mark clearly demands more. Not yet shown much, including on handicap debut (1m); trip query on pedigree. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (3) (80/1 -2567%) Ravenswell |
80/1(-2567%) | (3) Ravenswell 80/1, 11/2, very good third of 7 in handicap at Salisbury (9.9f, good) 33 days ago, never nearer having been forced to switch. Has to be of interest. Hampered before strong-finishing 3rd over 1m2f at Salisbury latest; has scope at trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Having scored over C&D in some style earlier this month, another bold bid is forecast from DIBBLE DABBLE. That was the Time Test filly's first outing on turf and she could make light work of a 7lb higher mark. The biggest challenge may be mounted by Alvesta, who arrives on the back of a solid second at Bath, while Wetherby runner-up Mariner also appears capable of landing a race at this level.
A sextet to view positively with DIBBLE DABBLE, who looked transformed by the switch to turf and this trip last time, fancied to defy her new mark. Ravenswell was a bit unlucky at Salisbury so demands respect, while Samoon Star is the unknwon quantity in the race after just 3 starts and she's bred to be a lot better than her mark.
This looks open and SAMOON STAR is narrowly preferred on her handicap debut. Ravenswell is preferred for the runner-up spot.

1st (6) (2/7 +34%) Wafei |
2/7(+34%) | (6) Wafei 2/7, Returned with disappointing fourth of 8 in maiden at Windsor (10f, good to soft, 4/7) 59 days ago but very much sets the standard on last year's form. Gelded since last outing. Debut is easily his best form but both runs since still make him easily the form pick. |

2nd (5) (40/1 -60%) Thomas G |
40/1(-60%) | (5) Thomas G 40/1, Once-raced gelding. Seventh of 9 in maiden at Thirsk (8f, good to firm, 28/1) on debut 20 days ago. Looks one for handicaps down the line. 28-1, 15l seventh of nine in maiden at Thirsk (1m, good to firm), upset in the stalls. |

3rd (3) (10/1 -264%) Royal College |
10/1(-264%) | (3) Royal College 10/1, €75,000 yearling, Wootton Bassett colt. Half-brother to several winners, including useful 10.5f winner Lucky Look and winner up to 1m Millfield, both in France. Interesting newcomer. 75,000euros yearling; with useful pedigree, he needs a close look on debut. |

4th (1) (100/1 -1329%) Twin Earth |
100/1(-1329%) | (1) Twin Earth 100/1, Left Flat debut form behind when fourth of 13 in maiden (50/1) at Leicester (8.2f, good to soft) 23 days ago and must enter calculations. Started in bumpers; may well ideally need further than this trip but it's a weak race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (100/1 -203%) Pennymuir |
100/1(-203%) | (7) Pennymuir 100/1, Berkshire filly. Dam, 10.7f winner, also won over hurdles. Likely a longer-term project. Dam 10.6f AW (RPR 87) and 2m hurdle winner; probably best watched on debut. |

6th (2) (250/1 -150%) Crafty Dancer |
250/1(-150%) | (2) Crafty Dancer 250/1, Eleventh of 12 in maiden at Carlisle (9f, soft, 250/1) on Flat debut 10 days ago, very slowly away. Hard to fancy. Well beaten in two bumpers in April/May and tailed off in a maiden at Carlisle (1m1f). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (200/1 -100%) Royal Duke |
200/1(-100%) | (4) Royal Duke 200/1, Once-raced gelding. 200/1, seventh of 10 in maiden at Musselburgh (8f, good to firm) on debut 14 days ago. Likely to need more time. 200-1, never dangerous when seventh of ten at Musselburgh (1m, good to firm). |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
William Haggas trained the winner of last year's renewal and is represented by WAFEI on this occasion. The latter failed to land the odds when only fourth at Windsor on his reappearance back in April, but he's been gelded subsequently and looks worth another chance. Twin Earth has yet to threaten in a couple of outings on the Flat, though he has finished third in a bumper and this extra distance should suit, while the newcomer Royal College is related to several winners.
WAFEI will likely start at prohibitive odds but can put his disappointing Windsor return behind him. Twin Earth is the obvious danger on form, whilst Charlie Johnston's newcomer Royal College is worth monitoring in the market.
Wafei dominates this field on ratings but there are warning signals too, so newcomer ROYAL COLLEGE needs a close look.

1st (4) (7/2 -75%) Ten Commitments |
7/2(-75%) | (4) Ten Commitments 7/2, Lightly-raced maiden who shaped well when a running-on second of 7 in handicap at Nottingham (6.1f, good) 8 days ago. Holds leading claims back at 7f. Only just denied twice over 6f this month and could be okay over further; up 4lb. |

12/1(-20%) | (3) Swordplay 12/1, Tenth of 11 in handicap at Chester (7.6f, good, 14/1) 13 days ago so needs a couple of these to falter. Best form to date over galloping sprint tracks; inconclusive first run at 7f-plus latest. |

3rd (6) (28/1 -75%) Korroor |
28/1(-75%) | (6) Korroor 28/1, 14/1, last of 10 in handicap at Haydock (8f, soft) 34 days ago. Hood on 1st time with work to do. Excuses both 2024 starts (wouldn't settle; didn't stay 1m in mud); might revive here. |

4th (1) (9/2 +36%) Yoshimi |
9/2(+36%) | (1) Yoshimi 9/2, C&D winner. 22/1, respectable sixth of 13 in handicap at Beverley (7.4f, good to firm) 19 days ago. In the mix. 2-5 here (both wins on good to firm); rather weakened out of things on most recent visit. |

5th (2) (66/1 -2833%) Super Hit |
66/1(-2833%) | (2) Super Hit 66/1, Lightly-raced winner. Scored at Chelmsford City in January. 13/2, creditable third of 11 in handicap at Southwell (7.1f). Off 91 days. Much respected on his turf debut. Gelded since last seen in March; unraced on turf but mark looks good and he's a 7f winner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (100/1 -1150%) Dan Dee Prince |
100/1(-1150%) | (7) Dan Dee Prince 100/1, C&D winner. Seventh of 9 in handicap (9/2) at Brighton (7f, good to soft) 30 days ago. Tongue strap on 1st time. Others have achieved more. C&D nursery winner (good to firm) on sole previous visit; lacking consistency this term. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
TEN COMMITMENTS has filled the runner-up berth over 6f on his last two appearances, at Salisbury and Nottingham, and he looks ready for another tilt at 7f. The Jamie Osborne-trained three-year-old is taken to defy a 4lb rise in the ratings, possibly at the main expense of the reappearing Super Hit. Having undergone a gelding procedure since his third-placed effort at Southwell in March, Marco Botti's charge is open to improvement. Bantry makes most appeal of the remainder.
TEN COMMITMENTS signalled he is ready to get off the mark when a running-on second at Nottingham last week and can now go one better with this return to 7f also a likely plus. Super Hit has his first go on turf but could emerge as the chief threat off a handy-looking mark with C&D winner Yoshimi also in the picture.
The newly gelded SUPER HIT is taken to distribute his energies better again and condemn Ten Commitments to another second place.

11/8(+27%) | (4) Clear Storm 11/8, Posted career best when winning on handicap debut at Nottingham (10.2f) last month and ran to similar level when fifth at Chelmsford (10f) 21 days ago. Likely contender up in trip in first-time cheekpieces. Held on AW last time but 1-1 on turf; major player back on grass; cheekpieces on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (25/1 -614%) Reyaadah Star |
25/1(-614%) | (3) Reyaadah Star 25/1, Winner at Kempton in May. 11/4, fourth of 7 in handicap at Kempton (12f) 15 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Not discounted. May enjoy an uncontested lead and that could make her dangerous; cheekpieces on. |

4th (2) (22/1 -340%) Purple Gown |
22/1(-340%) | (2) Purple Gown 22/1, Bounced back to best, returned to Flat, when winning 7-runner handicap over C&D (good to firm) 8 days ago, just holding on. Things will be tougher under 5 lb penalty but she warrants respect nonetheless. 5lb penalty for winning by a nose over C&D eight days ago; just 2-33 but is in form. |

5th (1) (100/1 -1233%) Typical Woman |
100/1(-1233%) | (1) Typical Woman 100/1, Twelfth of 16 in handicap at Wetherby (10f, good to firm, 33/1) on return 24 days ago. May have needed that but percentage call is to look elsewhere. Probably needed this month's Wetherby return, but ground faster than good may not be ideal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (100/1 -3536%) Kinematica |
100/1(-3536%) | (5) Kinematica 100/1, Disappointed latest but showed ability in maidens previously and is bred to be suited to this longer trip on switch to handicapping. Player. Didn't build on a promising debut, but this test on handicap debut should suit on breeding. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Purple Gown has to be respected following her C&D win last week, although a 5lb penalty will make life tougher for her here. With that in mind, preference is for CLEAR STORM, who was a close fifth at Chelmsford last time and that performance suggests that her current mark is workable. Reyaadah Star edges out Kinematica to be best of the rest.
CLEAR STORM should appreciate this longer trip and can resume winning ways. Kinematica could prove a different proposition on her handicap debut and is feared most.
The choice is CLEAR STORM (nap) who is 1-1 on turf and shaped last time as though this stiffer test might suit.

2nd (3) (40/1 -1233%) Monks Mead |
40/1(-1233%) | (3) Monks Mead 40/1, Below-par fourth of 8 in handicap (7/4) at Lingfield (7.6f, good to firm) 19 days ago. Has good chance at these weights if back on his A-game. Bit disappointing at Lingfield latest but has claims on his close call at Bath last month. |

12/1(-60%) | (4) Magnificent Match 12/1, Winner at Yarmouth in April. 11/1, respectable seventh of 13 in handicap at Windsor (10f, good to firm) 17 days ago. Very much one to consider. Record of 1-12 and he's finished down the field in last three runs; others preferred. |

9/1(-100%) | (7) Hey Big Spender 9/1, Lope De Vega colt who came in eleventh of 13 in maiden at Yarmouth (7f, good to soft, 20/1) 15 days ago. Blinkers on 1st time. Makes handicap debut and should have more to offer. Well-bred filly who could show a lot more now switched to a handicap; blinkers added. |

5th (2) (16/1 -45%) Etretat |
16/1(-45%) | (2) Etretat 16/1, Respectable fourth of 7 in handicap at Bath (10.2f, good, 11/1) 12 days ago. Possibilities. On reduced mark but he's now 0-10 and has been well held in last five runs; down the list. |

7th (8) (100/1 -3536%) Aspire To Glory |
100/1(-3536%) | (8) Aspire To Glory 100/1, Kickstarted 2024 with success at Lingfield in January and has continued in very good form, second of 9 in handicap at Ripon (8f, good) 7 days ago. Player off an unchanged mark. Good second on slow ground at Ripon last week and has claims if he can repeat that form. |

8th (6) (80/1 -344%) Excel In Space |
80/1(-344%) | (6) Excel In Space 80/1, Tongue strap/cheekpieces on for 1st time, thirteenth of 14 in minor event (150/1) at Naas (5.9f, good to soft) 9 months ago on his final run for Michael Mulvany. Needs to hit the ground running for his new handler. Untried beyond sprint trips and has plenty to prove on return for new yard. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
ASPIRE TO GLORY didn't do himself any favours when hanging right at Ripon last week, but he wasn't beaten too far at the finish and reappears quickly before his 1lb rise can come into effect. Salamanca Lad has offered encouragement since joining new connections, particularly with his recent effort for third at Ripon. Monks Mead is another to consider on the step back up in trip, and there is a chance the beautifully-bred Hey Big Spender is thrown in on her handicap bow.
A few with chances but the vote goes to ASPIRE TO GLORY who arrives in very good nick and can now go one better than at Ripon last time out and gain a deserved second success of 2024. Salamanca Lad is next on the list on the back of his good recent third at the same track ahead of handily-weighted Monks Mead.
An open race in which SALAMANCA LAD gets the vote ahead of Aspire To Glory and the handicap newcomer Hey Big Spender.

80/1(-3100%) | (1) Giselles Izzy 80/1, Won this contest (off 8 lb lower) last season and has scored twice at this course since, latest over 5f last month. Remains feasibly treated and is one for shortlist. Two lesser efforts have followed last month's course win but she runs this track very well. |

7th (6) (100/1 -203%) Chookie Dunedin |
100/1(-203%) | (6) Chookie Dunedin 100/1, Twenty one runs since last win in 2022. Last of 12 in handicap (50/1) at Newcastle (6f). Off 175 days. Likely best watched. Looked out of sorts when last seen in the winter and needs to prove some ability remains. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
CUBAN ROCK has made the frame on his last couple of starts, including a narrow second over 5f here on his penultimate outing, and the four-year-old appears to be the safest pick in a moderate event. The recent C&D fourth Captain Dandy may prove to be the main threat to the selection, although Thaki and So Grateful are others who could go well.
GISELLES IZZY caught the eye at Thirsk last time and goes particularly well at this course. She makes plenty of appeal. Captain Dandy and Cuban Rock look the likeliest dangers.
Class-dropper SO GRATEFUL ought to find this easier than his recent assignments and is taken to exploit some help from the handicapper.

7/2(+0%) | (3) Miami Heat 7/2, Only a fair fifth of 7 in handicap at Hamilton (6f, good to firm, 13/2) 25 days ago. Blinkers on 1st time now. Back on his Polytrack winning mark; chance if able to stay 7f on turf; blinkers added. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
A determined winner at Redcar last time out, SCOOPS AHOY should have plenty more improvement forthcoming off a 2lb higher mark and he looks the one to beat if handling the quicker ground. A winner at Bath in April, Maharajas Express hasn't quite rediscovered that form since but he is a key player, along with Miami Heat, who makes just his third start for the in-form George Boughey stable.
MAHARAJAS EXPRESS didn't enjoy the rub of the green when a good Sandown fifth last time so is fancied to resume winning ways off an unchanged mark here. Scoop's Ahoy showed the benefit of cheekpieces when going in at Redcar and is next on the list. In-form Catch Cunningham can also have a say in an open sprint.
Last-time soft ground winner Scoops Ahoy is taken on with MAHARAJAS EXPRESS, unlucky not to go closer last time out.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
