Reach For The Moon |
(6) (2/1 +33%)2/1(+33%) | (6) Reach For The Moon 2/1, Smart but lightly raced on Flat (barely stays 1¼m) for John & Thady Gosden, well held both starts in 2023. Reportedly returned lame when fourth on hurdles debut in February. Given time to recover and he has to be capable of better. Smart Flat form now a fading memory; finished lame on hurdle debut but much to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (1) (1/12 +86%) Ittack Blue |
1/12(+86%) | (1) Ittack Blue 1/12, 310,000 gns purchase after winning a point in Ireland. Hasn't stood much racing but in top hands and well prepared to land the odds on reappearance over C&D a fortnight ago. Obvious claims if this doesn't come too quick. Beat his market rival with the pair clear here two weeks ago; should be hard to beat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (9/1 +59%) Independent Jimmy |
9/1(+59%) | (4) Independent Jimmy 9/1, Related to winners over obstacles but looked green in bumpers. Bit more like it when mid-field on hurdles debut at Uttoxeter but likely needs more time. Low-level bumper form and never got involved when 100-1 for hurdling debut at Uttoxeter. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (14/1 +36%) Upfordebate |
14/1(+36%) | (8) Upfordebate 14/1, Showed a bit on bumper debut in January but not in the same form a month later. Hurdles debut. Ran okay to finish a 12l fourth in his first bumper but was then tailed off in the second. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (33/1 +67%) Happy County |
33/1(+67%) | (3) Happy County 33/1, Looks very limited on early evidence. Yet to show any real worthwhile form, in a bumper and two hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (125/1 -25%) Strip Light |
125/1(-25%) | (7) Strip Light 125/1, No show both starts in this sphere in 2020 and, having offered little in a handful of appearances on the Flat last year, he predictably showed nothing back hurdling for new yard in November. Flat maiden who was tailed off in a Sedgefield maiden last time at odds of 250-1. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (40/1 +60%) Glen Road |
40/1(+60%) | (2) Glen Road 40/1, Well held in 2 bumpers and pulled up on hurdles debut. Tailed off in his two bumpers and hurdling debut was just as forgettable. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Having finished lame on his right hind when fourth on his hurdles bow at Sedgefield in February, talented Flat performer Reach For The Moon shouldn't be judged too harshly on that defeat. However, the five-year-old will need to up his game to taste victory in this sphere and the experienced ITTACK BLUE rates a more solid proposition. The Dan Skelton-trained gelding opened his account over C&D earlier this month and he could defy a 7lb penalty if dictating the pace once more. Kopa Kilana may chase the duo home.
ITTACK BLUE jumped fluently when outclassing the opposition over C&D a fortnight ago, and in the hope this doesn't come too soon (very lightly raced) he's fancied to follow up. Reach For The Moon failed to meet expectations on hurdles debut but given his Flat form, he'll surely do better this time and is the obvious threat.
Recent C&D winner ITTACK BLUE should be following up in this company. Reach For The Moon can chase him home.

J Street |
(4) (9/2 -29%)9/2(-29%) | (4) J Street 9/2, Made an encouraging start to her career when fourth of 12 in maiden at Beverley (5f, good, 18/1) 17 days ago, no extra only late on. Open to improvement with that first experience behind her. Shaped well when fourth on her debut at Beverley (5f, good to soft) this month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Isla Bella |
(3) (12/1 +0%)12/1(+0%) | (3) Isla Bella 12/1, Shaped as if one for the longer term on her first outing when sixth of 8 in maiden at Brighton (5.3f, good, 9/1) 33 days ago. Tongue strap now applied. She made a low-key start at Brighton (5f, good) last month and improvement is required.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (1) (7/4 +73%) Brazilian Belle |
7/4(+73%) | (1) Brazilian Belle 7/4, Shaped as if better for the run when fourth of 13 in maiden at Thirsk (5f, soft, 10/1) on debut 19 days ago, tiring final 1f. Entitled to progress from that first outing. Encouraging fourth on debut at Thirsk (5f, good to soft) this month and should run well.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (25/1 -25%) Stat Goddess |
25/1(-25%) | (5) Stat Goddess 25/1, Has run to only a poor level in 2 starts so far, eleventh of 12 in maiden at Beverley (5f, good, 14/1) 17 days ago. Looks to be up against it. Modest form on Beverley debut (5f, soft); not so good there (good to soft) 11 days later.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (11/8 +15%) Harswell Dandy |
11/8(+15%) | (2) Harswell Dandy 11/8, Ran to a similar level as on debut when second of 6 in maiden at Ayr (5f, good, 11/4) 24 days ago, worn down only in the final 100 yds. Could be ready to go one better. Runner-up in her first two starts, she looks sure to go close.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (10/3 +0%) Sybaris Jewel |
10/3(+0%) | (6) Sybaris Jewel 10/3, Promising third at Beverley on debut, before 10¼ lengths thirteenth of 15 to Betty Clover in listed race at York (5f, good, 100/1) 6 days ago. Could get back on track returned to maiden company. Started slowly at York last week; back in grade, she looks worth another chance.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
After going close when unconsidered in the betting on her Pontefract debut, HARSWELL DANDY proved it was no fluke when occupying the runner-up berth again at Ayr. The winner of that race then acquitted himself well at the Dante meeting, and the daughter of Dandy Man can make it third-time lucky. Brazilian Belle offered encouragement in fourth at Thirsk, as J Street did when filling the same position at Beverley. Sybaris Jewel was a place ahead of her there, but struggled in the Marygate at York last week.
HARSWELL DANDY has run to a fair level when finding only one too good on both of her starts so far, faring the better of the pair who helped force the pace at Ayr on her latest outing, so she is taken to open her account this time around. Sybaris Jewel is worth another chance to build on her debut promise and is feared most, ahead of J Street.
Preference is for SYBARIS JEWEL who was in front of two of today's rivals on debut. This is much easier than last week's Listed race.

(8) (8/1 +20%)8/1(+20%) | (8) Mrs Kinsella 8/1, Pulled up for the third consecutive start in handicap chase at Plumpton (19.8f, good to soft) 6 months ago. Switches to hurdles with plenty to do. On a good mark, although she'll need this return to hurdles to spark a revival.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Rhyme Scheme |
(9) (50/1 +0%)50/1(+0%) | (9) Rhyme Scheme 50/1, Regressive on the Flat and has continued to go the wrong way over hurdles. Yet to be placed after ten start over hurdles and makes limited appeal.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (2) (22/1 +33%) Kosasiempre |
22/1(+33%) | (2) Kosasiempre 22/1, Hinted at ability in a trio of mares' novice hurdles but disappointing since going into handicaps, having a wind op before pulled up at Chepstow last time. Others make more appeal as she has plenty to prove at present.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (10) (7/2 +86%) Asa |
7/2(+86%) | (10) Asa 7/2, Regressive maiden who has shown little sign of taking advantage of her much-reduced mark of late. Pulled up latest; has plenty to find on form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (5/1 -43%) Nastasiya |
5/1(-43%) | (7) Nastasiya 5/1, Remains without a win but she was knocking on the door for Rebecca Menzies when last seen out 9 months ago. Returns for her new yard on a handy mark. Interesting. 0-22 Flat/hurdling but capable off this mark; stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (25/1 +50%) Western Glen |
25/1(+50%) | (3) Western Glen 25/1, Well held in 2 bumpers and yet to make an impact over hurdles. It's easy to look elsewhere. Ran better than her finishing position would suggest latest; 4lb drop also a plus.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (9/2 +0%) Mays Hill |
9/2(+0%) | (5) Mays Hill 9/2, Winner of a Fontwell bumper but yet to really threaten in a trio of starts over hurdles. May do better now switched to handicaps, though. Short in the market when withdrawn last month; respected on handicap debut.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (33/1 -65%) Gine Sacre |
33/1(-65%) | (6) Gine Sacre 33/1, Third in a 20.5f Ayr handicap in February 2022 but pulled up on his return in handicap hurdle at Newcastle (22f, heavy) 114 days ago. Very hard to warm to. Lightly raced in recent times and has a fair bit to prove at present.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (7/2 -56%) Cher Tara |
7/2(-56%) | (4) Cher Tara 7/2, Has caught the eye on his last two runs, not given at all a hard time when fifth in 2m Warwick novice 17 days ago. One to consider now into handicaps over further. Player if strong in the market on handicap debut now stepped up in distance for top yard.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (9/2 +55%) Another Day Out |
9/2(+55%) | (1) Another Day Out 9/2, :Winning Irish pointer but still to score over hurdles and she posted a below form fourth of 8 in handicap hurdle at Ludlow (21.2f, good) 29 days ago. Hood is reached for now. Can't be ruled out on the pick of her from if the hood has a positive effect.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (20/1 -67%) Den The Diva |
20/1(-67%) | (11) Den The Diva 20/1, Posted much her best effort of late when third of 10 in handicap hurdle (80/1) at Fontwell (19.1f, good) 15 days ago. Needs to back it up. Respectable third from the front last time but far from guaranteed to back that up.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
The stoutly-bred CHER TARA appeals as just the type to improve for this step up in distance now entering handicap company and the five-year-old could leave modest efforts in maiden/novice hurdle company behind her. The daughter of Kayf Tara shouldn't be overfaced by an opening mark of 87 and she edges the vote over fellow handicap debutant Mays Hill, who looks handily weighted if judged on her bumper form. The returning Nastasiya completes the shortlist.
Not nearly so competitive as the numbers suggest and NASTASIYA is worth siding with to capitalise on a lenient mark on her first run for Lucinda Russell. Handicap-debutante Cher Tara looks to have more to offer and could emerge as the main danger with Mays Hill another who could take a step forward now venturing into this company for the first time.
Nastasiya is respected but preference is for handicap newcomer CHER TARA with this longer trip likely to suit.

Golden Rainbow |
(7) (5/1 -11%)5/1(-11%) | (7) Golden Rainbow 5/1, Latest win at Newcastle in March. Wasn't seen to best effect when fourth of 13 in handicap at this C&D (good, 4/1) 10 days ago, racing deep on the track from his high draw. Sound each-way claims. Two AW wins this year; 0-13 on turf but good fourth of 13 over C&D recently. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Resilience |
(1) (7/1 -27%)7/1(-27%) | (1) Resilience 7/1, Seventeen runs since last win in 2022. 7/2, ran well from a workable mark when second of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f) back in January. He's a much more solid proposition on all-weather but merits consideration in this company. Two-time turf winner (unproven on slow ground); running well in defeat on AW in the winter. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Modular Magic |
(4) (12/1 +0%)12/1(+0%) | (4) Modular Magic 12/1, Nineteen runs since last win in 2021. Stepped up on reappearance when fifth of 10 in handicap at Ayr (5f, good, 18/1) 3 weeks ago (reported to have lost a hind shoe). Others make more appeal. Step back in right direction last time and another 3lb lower today; not discounted. |

1st (5) (5/1 +9%) Birkenhead |
5/1(+9%) | (5) Birkenhead 5/1, C&D winner. Sixteen runs since last win in 2023. 7/2, creditable third of 13 in handicap at this C&D (good) 10 days ago. Visor back on. Good third over C&D (good) ten days ago; his wins have come on good/good to firm going. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (5/2 +50%) One For The Ladies |
5/2(+50%) | (8) One For The Ladies 5/2, Twelve runs since last win in 2023. Got back on track when fourth of 17 in handicap at Thirsk (6f, heavy, 17/2) 33 days ago. In good form the last twice and she's versatile ground-wise; could play a leading role. |

3rd (6) (14/1 +36%) Rain Cap |
14/1(+36%) | (6) Rain Cap 14/1, 4-time course winner. 40/1, probably needed the run after 7 months off when last of 14 in handicap at this course (7f, good) 10 days ago. Down in trip. Likes it here and his surplus stamina will be no bad thing if conditions are testing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (7/1 +56%) Canaria Prince |
7/1(+56%) | (9) Canaria Prince 7/1, Followed a below-par effort with an even worse one when eighth of 9 in handicap (11/2) at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 6 months ago, weakening when hampered and hanging left final 1f. Will need to hit the ground running. Has a positive reappearance record; could be in the mix on this return to action. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (12/1 +52%) Ballysax Lil' Mick |
12/1(+52%) | (3) Ballysax Lil' Mick 12/1, Ran respectably after just 3 days off when eighth of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f, 33/1) 3 months ago. Cheekpieces back on. Easy to look elsewhere. Irish challenger; continues to drop down weights but 0-14 and others are more compelling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (8/1 +0%) Polam Lane |
8/1(+0%) | (2) Polam Lane 8/1, C&D winner. 16/5, not disgraced when 3 lengths third of 12 to Golden Rainbow in handicap at Newcastle (5f) when last seen in October 2022. Best watched given the length of absence. Absent since 2022 but interesting to see how this two-time course winner goes in betting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) (5/2 +50%) Irish Dancer |
5/2(+50%) | (10) Irish Dancer 5/2, Showed first form on his third start in a handicap when second of 13 (33/1) at this C&D (good) 10 days ago, hanging left but keeping on final 1f. Merits consideration. Left previous form behind when going close at 33-1 over C&D ten days ago. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Polam Lane is the most interesting contender on his return from the sidelines, but RESILIENCE is preferred. Craig Lidster's sprinter is also back from a break, albeit a much shorter one, and shaped like his turn in the winner's enclosure was imminent during a progressive winter campaign on the all-weather. One For The Ladies has been performing well on ground that probably wasn't quick enough for her. Turf maiden Golden Rainbow shouldn't be far way, while Irish Dancer beat Birkenhead to the runner-up berth over C&D last week but is again out of the handicap.
An open-looking sprint in which preference is for RESILIENCE, who ran well from a workable mark when finding just one too strong at Wolverhampton earlier in the year, so Craig Lidster's charge gets the nod to snap a losing run going back almost 2 years. The main threat may emerge from Irish Dancer, who showed his first form when runner-up over C&D recently, while Golden Rainbow and Birkenhead can fight out third spot.
The mare ONE FOR THE LADIES is versatile ground-wise and is taken to return to winning ways on the back of two good runs last month.

15/2(-150%) | (6) Next Second 15/2, 16/1, respectable third of 7 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 22 days ago after 7 months off. Player if building on that. Resumed from seven months off with solid Wolverhampton third; must enter calculations. |

5th (7) (9/1 +10%) Enchanted Night |

6th (1) (15/8 +16%) So Sleepy |
15/8(+16%) | (1) So Sleepy 15/8, C&D winner. 13/2 not disgraced after 5 months off when fourth of 7 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 22 days ago, slowly away. Entitled to come on for that. C&D winner; not discredited when fourth at Wolverhampton 22 days ago; one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (5/2 +38%) Mellys Flyer |
5/2(+38%) | (3) Mellys Flyer 5/2, Sixteen runs since last win in 2023. Just denied at Chelmsford in April but well held next 2 starts, seventh of 10 in handicap at Lingfield (6f, good to firm) 7 days ago. Headgear on 1st time. Arrives on a lengthy losing sequence; cheekpieces are fitted for the first time here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
NEXT SECOND signed off 2023 with a second to So Sleepy at Chelmsford but she improved past that rival on her reappearance, finishing a place in front of her when third at Wolverhampton. Wakai Umi was even further behind that day and Ruth Carr's mare gets the nod. That's not to say So Sleepy won't be a big threat because the top-weight should also step forward from that comeback effort. Mellys Flyer is sliding down the weights and could pop up before too long.
MELLYS FLYER could be worth chancing back on the AW in first-time headgear having been just denied off this mark at Chelmsford in April. So Sleepy and Next Second are both entitled to come on for their recent run so are feared most.
This looks a very good opportunity for C&D scorer SO SLEEPY (nap) to build on her encouraging Wolverhampton run and resume winning ways

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (4) (5/1 +9%) Snow Shepherdess |
5/1(+9%) | (4) Snow Shepherdess 5/1, Lightly-raced maiden who was pulled up in novice hurdle at Musselburgh (19.8f, soft) 95 days ago. Since undergone breathing surgery and could still do better on her handicap hurdle debut. Interesting on handicap debut back from wind surgery judged on her bumper promise.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Although TRICKALIGHT races from 2lb out of the weights, Deborah Cole's mare arrives on the back of two creditable efforts in defeat at Fontwell. This rise in distance won't inconvenience the daughter of Leading Light and a first victory under Rules could beckon. My Girl Katie travelled with more verve on her third-placed effort at Stratford earlier this month. The seven-year-old should be in the mix once more if running to a similar level, while the relatively unexposed Seasmoke must enter calculations too.
A case can be made for lots of these but MY GIRL KATIE rates the pick of the weights so is taken to gain her breakthrough victory at the chief expense of the lightly-raced Seasmoke. Snow Shepherdess is another to consider now going handicapping along with in-form duo My Portia and Trickalight.
In a tricky contest, Snow Shepherdess is interesting but SEASMOKE appeals most after her promising Ludlow fourth.

He isn't the biggest but is open to further improvement so holds leading claims. Runner-up at Ripon on second start and holds leading form claims on the back of that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (20/1 -82%) Graze On Phoenix |
20/1(-82%) | (1) Graze On Phoenix 20/1, Down the field in bumpers but made the frame in novices on both completed starts over hurdles. May well feature on Flat debut. Has shown ability in bumpers & over hurdles, but Positivia could be his yard's chief hope. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (20/1 -208%) Positivia |
20/1(-208%) | (3) Positivia 20/1, Runner-up on the first of 2 starts in bumpers in March and showed ability again on Flat debut when third of 5 in maiden (10/1) at Newcastle (12.4f) just under 3 weeks ago. Capable of building on that. Bumper runner-up who also ran well on Flat debut, despite the slow pace; brings potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (6/1 -33%) Belcamo |
6/1(-33%) | (6) Belcamo 6/1, 13/2 and hooded for 1st time, matched previous form when third of 8 in maiden at Chelmsford City (10f) 2 weeks ago. Up in trip. May yet have a bit more to offer on turf debut. 0-5 but this further step up in trip could prove a positive and he's not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (6/1 -20%) Yurinov |
6/1(-20%) | (2) Yurinov 6/1, 10/1, bred to stay well and shaped in kind when second of 5 in minor event at Ripon (9.8f, heavy) on debut 26 days ago, albeit flattered by proximity to eased-down winner. Likely to improve, particularly now upped in trip. Promising second on last month's belated debut and open to improvement now up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (66/1 -450%) Epidavros |
66/1(-450%) | (8) Epidavros 66/1, Showed something to work on when fourth of 10 in maiden (12/1) at Bath (8f, good to soft) on debut just under 5 weeks ago. Significantly up in trip. Fairly encouraging 4th on last month's debut; needs sizeable step forward now up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (40/1 +0%) Daidalos |
40/1(+0%) | (4) Daidalos 40/1, Well beaten in minor event/maiden over winter. Percentage call is to look elsewhere on turf debut (has been gelded). Soundly beaten on both starts but gelded since and one to watch in the betting. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
The experience Belcamo brings to the table will stand him in good stead, while Yurinov showed ability when runner-up at Ripon on his belated debut. Positivia didn't do badly at Newcastle on his Flat bow, nor did Epidavros when fourth at Bath. Owen Burrows doesn't send many runners to Catterick, though, and the hint must be taken. His SEE THE GREEN took a step forward from his introduction when finding only one too strong at Ripon and only a bit more improvement may be enough.
SEE THE GREEN left his debut effort well behind switched to turf when runner-up at Ripon 5 weeks ago, and with further improvement on the cards, Owen Burrows' 3-y-o can make it third time lucky at the expense of Yurinov, who should appreciate this step up in trip and is also open to progress. Positivia can edge out Belcamo for third spot.
Last month's Ripon runner-up SEE THE GREEN sets a strong form standard and he is taken to go one better. Yurinov is feared.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Imola and Cervaro Della Sala aren't separated by much on last year's Wolverhampton running, although the latter does have the advantage of a recent outing now. State Flag ran well on all three appearances as a juvenile, and Fenisa went into a few notebooks when third at Kempton. Another chance is still given to INTERTWINED, who may have found the ground too testing at Redcar and is selected instead thanks to her debut third at Newbury.
FENISA produced a promising first effort when third at Kempton and can find the required improvement to beat the more exposed Cervaro Della Sala. Imola should have more to offer over this extra 1f and is another to consider.
Consistent CERVARO DELLA SALA should prove well suited by this step up in trip and can gain a deserved first win back in maiden company

Post No Bills |
(5) (22/1 +0%)22/1(+0%) | (5) Post No Bills 22/1, Bagged 3 handicap chases in 2023, readily making all at Plumpton (17f, good) for latest success in September. However, he hasn't put his best foot forward in 3 starts since returning from a break in March. More exposed than some and bit to prove at present; the better ground should help though.. |

1st (1) (2/1 +0%) God's Own Getaway |
2/1(+0%) | (1) God's Own Getaway 2/1, Low-mileage 6-y-o who made a successful chasing debut in handicap at Southwell (20.4f) in April. Collared dying strides only by a handicap blot at Warwick 17 days ago and remains of interest. Engaged 4.08 Warwick Wednesday. Has taken well to fences and it's unlikely we've seen the best of him yet; big player.. |

2nd (4) (11/4 +50%) Sleeping Satellite |
11/4(+50%) | (4) Sleeping Satellite 11/4, Point/bumper winner who opened hurdles account in a Carlisle novice 15 months ago. Some promise in handicaps last season and yard in better form now. Not taken lightly switched to fences. Irish point winner who is respected now upped in distance on chase debut.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (11/2 -83%) The Gypsy Davey |
11/2(-83%) | (2) The Gypsy Davey 11/2, Off the mark at the fourth attempt between the flags in December and put that experience to good use when making all in maiden at Taunton (16.5f, good to soft) on Rules debut following month. Defied a penalty in similar fashion at Hereford so must be respected up in trip on chase/handicap bow. Unexposed 6yo who's 2-2 over hurdles; up in trip for chase/handicap debut; interesting.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (3/1 +33%) Texard |
3/1(+33%) | (3) Texard 3/1, Easily best effort for this yard when wide-margin winner here (17.2f) last month. Not in same form at Uttoxeter (20.9f, soft) 19 days ago, his jumping worsening as he tired, but worth another chance with the emphasis more on speed. Seven-time chase winner who is considered, particularly if the ground isn't soft.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (11/1 -47%) Friary Rock |
11/1(-47%) | (6) Friary Rock 11/1, Bounced back to best when scoring at Musselburgh in November. Too bad to be true there next time but was below form again back from 4 months here 2 weeks ago. Good-ground chase winner who should be all the sharper since this month's return.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Point-to-point winner THE GYPSY DAVEY made a seamless transition to hurdles, doing it well on his debut at Taunton before following up at Hereford. Given time to strengthen further, and with his background between the flags suggesting he could be even better over fences, a mark of 110 for his handicap bow makes him hard to resist. Sleeping Satellite is another interesting newcomer to the larger obstacles, while Texard struck over 2m1f here before possibly finding 2m5f beyond him at Uttoxeter, so this trip could be ideal.
GOD'S OWN GETAWAY has made an encouraging start to his chasing career and can quickly resume winning ways having been just denied by a subsequent winner at Warwick. Texard had excuses at Uttoxeter and his wide-margin win here the time before is solid form, so he rates the obvious threat. though chasing newcomers The Gypsy Davey and Sleeping Satellite aren't taken lightly.
Sleeping Satellite merits respect on chase debut but it's unlikely we've seen the best of GOD'S OWN COUNTRY over fences yet.

1st (3) (7/2 +50%) Wichahpi |
7/2(+50%) | (3) Wichahpi 7/2, Won nurseries at Thirsk and Leicester in 2023 and ran well when second over 5f here on reappearance. No obvious excuses when only fourth of 6 in handicap at Nottingham (5f, heavy) 33 days ago but overall profile still merits respect. Below par last time but a good case can be made on her previous form. |

11/1(+21%) | (4) La La Lucrative 11/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 12/1, matched previous form when sixth of 10 on handicap debut at Beverley (5f, good) 17 days ago. Has work to do. No impact when sixth on handicap debut but made late headway over 5f; now back up to 6f. |

Proved too keen on first outing since leaving George Scott when seventh of 8 in handicap (14/1) at Doncaster (6f, good to soft) 21 days ago. Others more persuasive. Runner-up in sole nursery last August but well beaten on stable/seasonal debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
MACARONE could give weight and a beating to his rivals. He is entitled to improve for his comeback third at Pontefract, form which took a boost when the winner followed up on Monday, and forecast quicker ground should also suit. Wichahpi usually breaks well and could be dangerous from stall one, while Tim Easterby looks to have a couple of solid chances with Marie's Secret and Queens Road Revue.
NOISY MUSIC has progressed with each run and looks on a fair mark now setting out in handicaps after a stable switch. Macarone ended his juvenile campaign well and shaped as if retaining all his ability at Pontefract on his return, so is shortlisted alongside Bestie, who ran well to make the frame here last month.
The step up to 6f could be just what QUEENS ROAD REVUE (nap) needs to post a first win, having kept on well over 5f on handicap debut.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Favourite-backers have had their fingers burned twice with AMROON so far this year, but there will be plenty who keep the faith and his placed efforts at Wolverhampton and Chelmsford suggest he can reward it. The drop from 7f should be in his favour, although Katie G was only half a length behind him last time and might also be happier at this trip. Sir Bolton is gradually working his way back into some form, and Justahunch's latest effort can be forgiven.
Having dropped a fair way in the weights, SIR BOLTON stuck to his task pretty well when third at Lingfield a week ago, and with the return to 6f sure to suit, he could be the answer. Amroon pulled hard over 7f last time so the drop back in trip may help him, with Katie G another to consider in first-time headgear,
Marco Botti's AMROON is taken to confirm recent Chelmsford superiority over Katie G and land a second career success.

17/2(+39%) | (5) Chaos Control 17/2, Fairly useful handicapper on Flat who landed a juvenile hurdle here (16.5f) early last year. MAGICAL HILL has relished the switch to hurdles, going in at the first time of asking at Huntingdon before handling the step up from 2m with ease when following up over this trip at Kelso. An initial mark of 116 doesn't seem overly harsh and he is worth sticking with. He faces his acid test, though, with the usually-reliable Notnowlinda dangerous on the back of a Hereford second. Kaleb went down by the narrowest of margins at Southwell and is only 2lb higher, while Got Your Back enters the handicap ranks following wind surgery.
MAGICAL HILL cemented the positive start made over hurdles when making it 2-2 in straightforward fashion at Kelso 2 weeks ago and he looks the type to make an immediate impact in handicaps on that evidence. Fellow in-form pair Notnowlinda and Kaleb are others to consider, whilst Half Shot is another to bear in mind operating from his lower hurdles mark.
Dan Skelton's NOTNOWLINDA (nap) is looking handicapped about right but she arrives here on the back of three excellent efforts.

Ghathanfar |
(3) (5/1 +0%)5/1(+0%) | (3) Ghathanfar 5/1, Twenty runs since last win in 2022. Good second of 12 in handicap (7/2) at this C&D (good) 10 days ago. Looks competitive from unchanged mark. Placed on his two starts this season and could make another bold bid. |

A Pint Of Bear |
(10) (13/2 +28%)13/2(+28%) | (10) A Pint Of Bear 13/2, Course winner. 13/2, won 9-runner handicap at Brighton (6f, good to soft) 14 days ago. Can give another good account. Runner-up twice in a row before winning at Brighton latest; has also won here; chance. |

Profitable Edge |
(1) (14/1 -75%)14/1(-75%) | (1) Profitable Edge 14/1, Scored at second time of asking for this yard when easily seeing off 3 rivals at Ripon (5f) in August. Fourth of 7 in handicap at Southwell (5f, 3/1). Off 7 months. Others preferred on return. Did well for new yard over 5f last year; stamina to prove on first crack at 6f. |

1st (6) (6/1 +70%) King Of Tonga |
6/1(+70%) | (6) King Of Tonga 6/1, Sixteen runs since last win in 2022. 18/1, good fourth of 12 in handicap at this C&D (good) 10 days ago. Frame claims again. Close fourth over C&D recently and could be thereabouts once more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (7/4 +36%) Dazy Mazy |
7/4(+36%) | (9) Dazy Mazy 7/4, Career best when winning 8-runner handicap at Doncaster (6f, soft, 9/2) 26 days ago, driven clear. Highly respected if proving as effective on a sounder surface. Off mark at eighth attempt last month; did it with something to spare; respected up 6lb. |

3rd (2) (10/1 +38%) Music Society |
10/1(+38%) | (2) Music Society 10/1, C&D winner. Sixteen runs since last win in 2022. Fifth of 6 in handicap (4/1) at this C&D (good) 23 days ago. Yard remain quiet and others make greater appeal. 9yo whose form has gone wrong way, but he has a handy mark and a good record in this race. |

4th (5) (11/4 +54%) White Umbrella |
11/4(+54%) | (5) White Umbrella 11/4, C&D winner enchanced good recent strike rate when also landing 9-runner handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f, 5/1) 24 days ago, cosily. Shortlist material. Three wins (including C&D) from last six starts; could play yet another leading role. |

5th (7) (4/1 +0%) Canaria Queen |
4/1(+0%) | (7) Canaria Queen 4/1, Capitalised on a falling mark to win 7-runner handicap (3/1) at Wetherby (5.5f, soft) 25 days ago. Should remain competitive from 4 lb higher mark. Got up close home over 5.5f last month; could have more to offer now back up to 6f. |

6th (12) (25/1 +38%) Laura's Breeze |
25/1(+38%) | (12) Laura's Breeze 25/1, Latest win at Southwell in March. Tenth of 13 in handicap at Ayr (7.2f, good, 28/1) 9 days ago. Some time since she's threatened on turf and others make far greater appeal. AW win in March but well beaten back on grass the last twice; arrives with plenty to prove. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
An open-looking contest could go the way of WHITE UMBRELLA, who won her only previous visit here and ran right up to her best when scoring comfortably at Wolverhampton last time. If her outside draw in stall 11 proves too much to overcome, Ghathanfar, who is 1lb well-in, could be the one to take advantage. A Pint Of Bear, Dazy Mazy and Canaria Queen all arrive in winning form and add further spice to the race.
WHITE UMBRELLA can take her record to 4 wins from her last 7 starts, a mark 13 lb higher than when winning over C&D in October looking manageable given her progress. Ghathanfar has slipped in the weights and proved his competitiveness from this mark when runner-up over C&D earlier in the month, with Canaria Queen also considered on the back of her Wetherby success.
The unexposed 4yo CANARIA QUEEN got up close home over 5.5f at Wetherby last month and can defy a 4lb rise now back up in trip.

6/1(+0%) | (5) Tatateo 6/1, Backward step when seventh of 12 in novice event at Kempton (8f, 5/1) 71 days ago, though a wide trip didn't help. Up in trip. Seventh in Kempton novice in March; raced wide there so shouldn't be written off. |

2nd (4) (2/1 +43%) Mycoloursoryours |
2/1(+43%) | (4) Mycoloursoryours 2/1, Ran to a similar level as debut when fifth of 10 in maiden at Newbury (11f, good, 8/1) 33 days ago. That was a pretty deep race and he represents an in-form yard. Encouraging fifth in Newbury maiden latest; that form has been franked so he's a player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (6/4 +40%) Far L'amore |
6/4(+40%) | (2) Far L'amore 6/4, Matched debut form when fifth of 8 in maiden at Chester (10.3f, good, 8/1) 15 days ago. This is a weaker-looking race so he has to be respected. Son of Territories who has shown fair form on both his runs; very much in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (4/1 +0%) Baronetti |
4/1(+0%) | (1) Baronetti 4/1, New Approach gelding. Half-brother to winner up to 1¼m Dubai Souq and 7f-1m winner Western Symphony, both useful. Already gelded but a newcomer for respected stable. New Approach gelding; much respected newcomer, especially if the market vibes are positive. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
FAR L'AMORE wasn't disgraced first time out against the ill-fated Chester Vase winner Hidden Law and probably ran to a similar level on the Roodee 15 days ago. He may not need to find much improvement unless Baronetti, a half-brother to two winners, proves above-average on his racecourse debut. Faster Bee could potentially improve for a gelding operation but has shown his hand on a number of occasions, while Tatateo was disappointing at Kempton.
MYCOLOURSORYOURS ran in a pretty hot race at Newbury last month and, if settling down, is fancied to advance his form. He gets the vote in what is a trappy novice, with Far L'Amore feared most unless there's support for newcomer Baronetti.
Twice-raced MYCOLOURSORYOURS arrives on the back of an encouraging Newbury fifth (form franked) so gets the nod

Ladronne |
(1) (6/1 -20%)6/1(-20%) | (1) Ladronne 6/1, Took advantage of his reduced mark when scoring at Doncaster (24f) in March and bounced back from a lesser run when second to Post Chaise at this course (23.9f) later the same month. Only sixth at Sedgefield (21.1f) 13 days ago, but he could fare better back up in trip. He was on tougher terms with Post Chaise when second to that rival here in March. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (3) (6/5 +31%) Post Chaise |
6/5(+31%) | (3) Post Chaise 6/5, Resumed winning ways in a change of headgear in amateurs' handicap chase at this course (23.9f) in March and ran at least as well when second at Southwell (the winner has scored again since) a month ago. Leading contender. 4-10 over fences; might be a tad high in the weights but should give his running. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (11/4 +50%) Benny Baloo |
11/4(+50%) | (6) Benny Baloo 11/4, Showed improved from sent chasing last season, opening his Rules account in novice handicap at this course (23.9f) on Boxing Day. Ran creditably when third back here in February, so he could leave a below-par effort at Hexham behind returned to this venue. The handicapper has looked in charge since his last win and stamina is not assured. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (3/1 +50%) Croagh Patrick |
3/1(+50%) | (5) Croagh Patrick 3/1, A while since his last win but he's been a consistent performer in the main, finishing runner-up 4 times in 2023/24. However, he's been below form on his last 2 starts, so he needs to get back on track as he returns to this longer trip. Below par last twice; usually consistent but he does lack a cutting edge (2-31 overall). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (14/1 +30%) Roxboro Road |
14/1(+30%) | (7) Roxboro Road 14/1, Three-time winner in 2021 but has largely struggled since, though he did show his first form for his current yard when fourth of 12 in handicap chase at Huntingdon (23.6f) last month. Still looks to be up against it from out of the weights. Bit better last time but has stamina to prove and being 7lb wrong is no help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (14/1 -40%) Tide Times |
14/1(-40%) | (2) Tide Times 14/1, All 4 of his wins over fences have come at Ludlow, with his latest success over 23.8f in December. However, let down by his jumping when pulled up at the same course on his last 2 outings. Cheekpieces now reached for. On a good mark but cheekpieces are turned to after two below-par efforts. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Post Chaise backed up his victory over 3m here with a runner-up effort at Southwell and he should remain competitive off a 2lb higher rating. However, the vote goes to BENNY BALOO, who reached the frame at Hexham and has to compete off a 2lb higher figure now. Tim Easterby's seven-year-old should have no issues with this step up in trip and he can record his second course victory. Croagh Patrick completes the shortlist.
POST CHAISE arrives in good form, finding only a next-time-out winner too strong at Southwell on his latest outing, so he is taken to add to his tally back at this course. Ladronne could be the one to give the selection most to think about returned to this longer distance, with course-winner Benny Baloo also in the mix.
Post Chaise is probably the most likely winner but LADRONNE has a pull in the weights with him on their clash here in March.

6/1(+45%) | (1) Cori Glory 6/1, Below form when eighth of 12 in handicap at Newcastle (8f, 12/1) 6 months ago. Will need to hit the ground running if she's to add a second career victory to her tally. Signed off last season with a below-par run but she returns on a competitive mark. |

7/2(+30%) | (5) Happier 7/2, Best effort of the season when fifth of 13 in handicap (20/1) at Ripon (6f, good to firm) just under 2 weeks ago. Should be spot on now trying 7f for the first time. 0-10 in handicaps but has often run well and holds each-way claims. |

3rd (4) (10/3 -33%) Lokana |
10/3(-33%) | (4) Lokana 10/3, 6/1, put her experience to good use to get off the mark after 8 months off in 10-runner maiden at Thirsk (7f, soft) 19 days ago. Makes handicap debut and could kick on now up and running. Won Thirsk maiden three weeks ago on her fifth start and has potential off opening mark. |

Others more persuasive. Course maiden winner who has gone very close off today's mark; not ruled out on yard debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (2/1 +27%) Cue's Beau |
2/1(+27%) | (2) Cue's Beau 2/1, Bounced back to best to resume winning ways in 9-runner handicap (7/1) at Ayr (7.2f, good) 24 days ago. Is now 2-2 on the surface and every chance he can extend that to 3. Narrow win at Ayr last time; just 2lb higher today and lightly raced. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (13/2 +35%) Taygar |
13/2(+35%) | (6) Taygar 13/2, Made a winning debut last April but failed to build on that, well held in listed Two-Year-Old Trophy at Redcar (6f, good, 80/1) when last seen 7 months ago. Hood on 1st time. Hasn't progressed since debut win but that's been her only start on slow ground. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
LOKANA was an impressive all-the-way winner of a Thirsk maiden earlier this month and, with improvement likely, she gets the vote to follow up on her handicap debut. Cue's Beau looks an obvious danger, having struck at Ayr last time and being Ed Dunlop's only runner on the card. Happier is creeping down to a dangerous mark but has her stamina to prove, while a hooded Taygar also deserves a mention.
A few in with a squeak but HAPPIER turned in her best effort of the season when fifth at Ripon just under a fortnight ago and, now trying 7f for the first time, she should be spot on. Cue's Beau is 2-2 on turf but she may have to settle for silver on this occasion, with handicap-debutante Lokana rounding off the shortlist.
The 3yo LOKANA won a maiden at Thirsk in good style three weeks ago and her pedigree suggests she will be capable of better still.

150/1(-200%) | (10) Escape The Grape 150/1, 33/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, ninth of 11 in handicap at Bath (8f, heavy) 17 days ago. Plenty to find on form. Well beaten in all three handicaps and likely booked for another struggle. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
BEACH POINT was hugely impressive when justifying favouritism at Doncaster last Saturday, particularly as plenty went wrong in the run. The extra furlong is unlikely to pose any problems and he is fancied to defy a 6lb penalty. Magic Rascal looked slightly unlucky not to win at Bath, meeting interference over 1f out and being carried left by the winner inside the last. He now wears a tongue-tie and rates the biggest threat, ahead of Charles Morin.
The progressive BEACH POINT was value extra when off the mark at Doncaster 5 days ago so looks up to defying a penalty. Magic Rascal showed big improvement despite refusing to settle when just edged out at Bath and looks the obvious threat with Newfangled best of the others.
Recent improvers Beach Point and MAGIC RASCAL look the pair to focus on here, with a narrow preference for the latter.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Not So Sobers occupied the runner-up berth over track and trip on debut last month and, with normal improvement, he ought to go close. However, he could come out second best to JAFIMGOSO, who took a big leap forward from his first start when scoring by over three lengths at Warwick and he could have plenty more to offer. Dan Skelton's five-year-old can defy his 7lb penalty, while any market support for Screened would also be interesting.
SHADY WADEY has an appealing pedigree and made a promising start when fifth at Ludlow on debut, so he's taken to improve past the likes of Not So Sobers and the penalised Jafimgoso. Aviation looks the best of the newcomers.
The main form contenders are NOT SO SOBERS, Jafimgoso and Shady Wadey. Screened and Aviation are interesting newcomers.

1st (3) (3/1 +0%) Wannabe Brave |
3/1(+0%) | (3) Wannabe Brave 3/1, Held back by inexperience over hurdles at Huntingdon (19.6f) in March but strong in betting and took advantage of drop in grade to double his tally on the Flat in handicap at Wolverhampton (16.5f) 26 days ago. Enters calculations again. Won at Wolverhampton (2m) last month; 4lb higher here, he still looks well treated.. |

2nd (4) (7/2 +53%) Further Measure |
7/2(+53%) | (4) Further Measure 7/2, Course winner. Sixteen runs since last win in 2023. Creditable neck second of 7 to Taxiing in handicap at this C&D (11/4) 14 days ago. Now found only one too good on 2 of his last 3 starts and he's undoubtedly capable of defying this reduced mark. Beaten a neck over C&D last time, he can go close again.. |

3rd (6) (7/2 -5%) Pfingstberg |
7/2(-5%) | (6) Pfingstberg 7/2, Promising individual who ran well on the back of 8 months off having been set a lot to do when third of 10 in handicap (7/2) at this course (14f) 21 days ag, keeping on. Remains capable of better now stamina is tested further and shortlisted. 0-9 but close 3rd stepping up to 1m6f here last time.. |

4th (5) (6/1 -50%) Taxiing |
6/1(-50%) | (5) Taxiing 6/1, 2 wins from 6 runs this year. 10/1, career best when winning 7-runner handicap at this C&D 14 days ago, by neck from Further Measure. Rider's claim more than off-sets his latest weight rise and she's another with claims again. Beat three of these over C&D last time and holds every chance once again.. |

6/1(+20%) | (2) Grand Duchess Olga 6/1, C&D winner. 11/1, good ½-length third of 7 to Taxiing in handicap at this C&D 14 days ago. That was her first start for 4 months and she could well be sharper with that under her belt. A dual course winner, she finished third here last time following a break; chances. |

Well below that level when last of 9 in handicap at Yarmouth (10.1f, good, 8/1) 23 days ago, losing place quickly 2f out. Up significantly in trip returned to AW. Has run well when placed at big odds on last two AW starts; tries 2m for first time.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
WANNABE BRAVE showed the benefit of a spin over hurdles when he successfully reverted to the Flat at Wolverhampton last month and, with Wesley Joyce's 3lb claim partially negating a 4lb rise, the James Fanshawe-trained gelding has a live chance of following up. Taxiing edged out Further Measure (second), Grand Duchess Olga (third) and Shield Of Honour (fifth) when scoring over C&D a fortnight ago and rates the chief threat to the selection.
PFINGSTBERG ran well on the back of an 8-month break when third over 14f here 21 days ago, keeping on having been set a lot to do. Open to further progress now his stamina is tested further, he could just be worth chancing to build on that effort now. Wolverhampton-scorer Wannabe Brave rates next best, with Further Measure another to bear in mind from what rates a workable mark.
Grand Duchess Olga can finish ahead of her three rivals from two weeks ago, but preference is for WANNABE BRAVE who won last time.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Having overcome a wide draw at Musselburgh earlier this month, WITHOUT DELAY was value for further than the narrow winning distance that day. A 3lb rise in the ratings looks more than workable for Tracy Waggott's mare and she's taken to complete a double. The biggest danger could be Key Look, who posted her best effort of the year when third over C&D recently, while Homer Stokes is likely to benefit from this drop into a 0-55 event.
WITHOUT DELAY did well in the circumstances when getting back to winning ways at Musselburgh last time, not settling fully having raced wide without cover, so she can build on her latest effort to score again. The main danger could be Rockin Rosa, who bounced back to form when third at this C&D on her latest outing, with Key Look also considered.
There's a chance COLOANE still just needed it at Beverley last time and she's starting to look dangerously well handicapped.

9/2(-50%) | (5) Letaba 9/2, Shed maiden tag at Chelmsford (10f) in December and showed benefit of a recent run when winning 7-runner handicap at Kempton (11f) 22 days ago. Possibilities from 2 lb higher back up in trip/returned to turf. Resumed winning ways in Kempton handicap 22 days ago; up 2lb but he's not taken lightly. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Letaba is an obvious player having won two of his last three starts, but those victories came on the all-weather and his record of 0 from 10 on turf must be a concern. Genesius is worthy of consideration despite having a 205-day absence to overcome, but narrow preference is for PREMIERE LIGNE. He wasn't far behind the now 87-rated Kotari at Windsor 38 days ago and could well improve for that first outing since September.
PREMIERE LIGNE has yet to win on these shores but he ran well after 7 months off/following wind surgery when third at Windsor 38 days ago, and with the return to this longer trip in his favour, he looks a big player. Recent Kempton winner Letaba and the returning Genesius are others fancied to be in the shake-up.
Ex-French PREMIERE LIGNE teed himself up well for this when an encouraging reappearance Windsor third and gets the nod

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
General Clermont built on his reappearance fourth in a handicap hurdle at Naas last month when finishing a respectable second over 2m6f in a beginners chase at Tramore. However, this drop in trip might be on the sharp side for the son of Balko and last-time-out winner PRINCE OF AIR may have his measure. A 68-day break seemed to work the oracle for Philip Rothwell's gelding when he won at Tramore and a 7lb rise looks workable. Mahlers Cove and Pana To Milan are also worth a second look.
THE DECLAIMER shaped well back from a lengthy absence when seventh to Prince of Air at Tramore and he's taken to come out on top this time off what remains a handy mark on hurdles form. Prince of Air's jumping should be an asset again, while the drop back in trip will suit Barbaha Queen.
The consistent MAHLERS COVE won't mind what the weather does and he can reverse Tramore placings with Prince Of Air.

66/1(-164%) | (2) Tailorman 66/1, Once-raced maiden on Flat. Fourth of 5 in minor event (25/1) at Windsor (10f, good to firm) on flat debut 10 days ago. Promise in bumpers; 4th of five in Windsor novice (1m2f, good to firm; 25-1) ten days ago. |

150/1(-127%) | (8) Leitrim Spirit 150/1, Once-raced maiden. Last of 12 in maiden at Newmarket (7f, good, 150/1) on debut 37 days ago. 150-1 when last of 12 in maiden at Newmarket (7f, good) last month, failing to show much. |

15th (1) (150/1 +40%) Infantryman |
150/1(+40%) | (1) Infantryman 150/1, Once-raced maiden on Flat. 250/1, twelfth of 13 in minor event at Windsor (8.1f, heavy) on flat debut 17 days ago. Three bumpers and recent 1m novice at Windsor (250-1) suggest he is best watched for now. |

16th (4) (150/1 -127%) Masonry |
150/1(-127%) | (4) Masonry 150/1, Mayson filly. Half-sister to winner up to 7f The Meter. Dam unraced. Not an obvious sort on paper. Mayson filly; others are more striking on paper. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
The only runner to have earned an official rating, Sunny Street sets the standard off a mark of 81 and rates a key player being kept to novice company. However, there should be lots more to come from HISTORIC CITY, who wasn't beaten far despite running green on debut at Leicester 12 days ago and, sure to be wiser, the son of Belardo could be a different proposition now he has some experience. Salik and Shamran are couple of newcomers to monitor in the betting.
GROOVY BABY offered plenty of encouragement when second here on debut 6 months ago and, with the hood fitted, there should be more to come from her, so she gets the nod over Sunny Street, who sets the standard but needs to bounce back. Hazem looks the pick of the newcomers.
Sunny Street has clearly the best form but has had five races and failed to convert. A chance is therefore taken on GROOVY BABY.

1st (10) (18/1 -29%) Miss Calculation |
18/1(-29%) | (10) Miss Calculation 18/1, In first-time blinkers, below form when ninth of 10 in handicap at Newcastle (6f, 10/1) 27 days ago. Headgear quickly discarded, but needs to step up on what she's shown so far this year as she returns to turf. Has largely struggled on AW since joining this stable; others are preferred again. |

2nd (2) (5/2 -11%) Langholm |
5/2(-11%) | (2) Langholm 5/2, Hasn't won since successful at this C&D back in 2022 but he's been in good heart this season, third of 12 in handicap here (6f, good, 6/1) 10 days ago. Respected as he returns to this longer trip. C&D winner and placed three times here already this season; nice draw; should go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (15/2 -88%) Mr Strutter |
15/2(-88%) | (3) Mr Strutter 15/2, Four-time C&D winner, with latest success here in October. Caught eye when seventh of 12 in handicap at this C&D (soft, 9/1) 29 days ago, finishing with running left. Major player at this venue. Landed fourth C&D win last autumn; late headway here latest and could be back in form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (11/2 +21%) Sunny Orange |
11/2(+21%) | (1) Sunny Orange 11/2, Sole victory came on his debut in 2022. Ran to only a similar level as on reappearance when seventh of 11 in handicap (15/2) at Beverley (8.4f, good) 17 days ago. Lurks on a dangerous mark as he drops back in trip. 0-17 since 2yo debut and others are preferred again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (8/1 +33%) Josiebond |
8/1(+33%) | (7) Josiebond 8/1, C&D winner. After 7 months off, not disgraced when sixth of 11 in handicap at Beverley (8.4f, good, 12/1) 17 days ago, no extra last ½f. Could fare better with her recent run behind her. Former C&D winner and entitled to come on for respectable reappearance; enters reckoning. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (12/1 +14%) Rum Runner |
12/1(+14%) | (9) Rum Runner 12/1, Eleven runs since his last win at this C&D in 2023. Seventh of 13 in handicap back at this C&D (good, 11/1) 23 days ago, nearest finish having typically been slowly away. Needs everything to drop right. C&D win last summer and some late headway from too far back here latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (7/1 +22%) Elladora |
7/1(+22%) | (6) Elladora 7/1, Thirteen runs since last win in 2023, but ran best race for her current yard when fifth of 14 in handicap at this C&D (good, 12/1) 10 days ago. Races from 7 lb below her last winning mark so she's not discounted. Better signs for new yard when fifth over C&D last week; well treated if building on that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (16/1 -129%) Stop On Red |
16/1(-129%) | (5) Stop On Red 16/1, C&D winner last summer. After just 2 days off, failed to come on his return when eighth of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f) in February. Capable of being in the mix if ready to go after a 3-month break. C&D classified win last year; found it tougher since so needs return to this venue to help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (66/1 -32%) Grand Style |
66/1(-32%) | (8) Grand Style 66/1, Making her first start since leaving Alexandra Dunn, offered little after 3 months off when last of 9 in handicap (80/1) at Newcastle (7.1f) 20 days ago. Has plenty to prove. Ex French; has beaten a total of only one rival in five starts since coming to Britain.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (4) (15/2 +6%) Musical Masquerade |
15/2(+6%) | (4) Musical Masquerade 15/2, In first-time visor, not discredited on his turf debut when third of 12 in handicap (16/1) at Pontefract (8f, soft) 22 days ago. Remains lightly raced for his age so he could still have more to offer. Low-mileage 5yo who may benefit from return to 7f after fading late over 1m latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (11) (125/1 -89%) Mr Gambino |
125/1(-89%) | (11) Mr Gambino 125/1, Remains a maiden. Tried in cheekpieces after almost a year off, probably needed the run when last of 11 in handicap at this course (12.1f, good, 150/1) 10 days ago. Back down in trip with visor reapplied. 0-17; tailed off on 1m4f course reappearance last week; outsider. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Recent solid form is thin on the ground and this looks a suitable opportunity for LANGHOLM to get back on the scoresheet. The eight-year-old's last victory was recorded over C&D almost two years ago and a return to this trip could prove fruitful. Six-time course winner Mr Strutter is still 3lb above his last winning mark, but he always warrants respect at this venue and may put up the most resistance to the selection, ahead of Elladora.
MR STRUTTER hasn't been seen to best effect at this venue on his last 2 starts, keeping on having raced well off the pace on his latest outing, so he looks one to keep on the right side as he bids for a fifth C&D success. Langholm has been placed here 3 times this season and isn't taken lightly, while Musical Masquerade is another to note.
His losing run is mounting up but LANGHOLM rarely runs a bad race here and should make a bold show from a handy draw for a front-runner.

Mousey Brown |
(5) (3/1 +63%)3/1(+63%) | (5) Mousey Brown 3/1, Fairly useful hurdler. Four wins from 10 runs last season. 25/1, eighteenth of 24 in handicap hurdle at Punchestown (19.4f, good to soft) 23 days ago. Switches from hurdles to chase. Difficult ask. Better hurdler than chaser but it's still early days and the ability is there to progress. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (4) (10/11 +17%) Hurricane Georgie |
10/11(+17%) | (4) Hurricane Georgie 10/11, Useful chaser. Fourteen runs since last win in 2022. Pulled up in handicap chase at Fairyhouse (20f, soft, 8/1) 172 days ago, never going well after. Back in calmer waters now and the clear form pick. She was second in this last year and is heavily favoured by these weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (7/2 +56%) Bella Bliss |
7/2(+56%) | (1) Bella Bliss 7/2, Fairly useful chaser. Three wins from 13 runs last season. Creditable fourth of 10 in handicap chase (12/1) at Perth (23.8f, soft) 27 days ago. In the mix. This trip looks on the tight side and these terms aren't favourable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (6/1 -9%) Bonnie Kellie |
6/1(-9%) | (2) Bonnie Kellie 6/1, Fairly useful chaser. Course winner. Seventh of 10 in handicap hurdle at this course (19f, heavy, 7/2) 34 days ago. Switches from hurdles to chase. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Not discounted. She's a capable mare on her day and goes well here; tries cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (9/2 -29%) Good As Hell |
9/2(-29%) | (3) Good As Hell 9/2, Fairly useful chaser. Three wins from 13 runs last season. On the retreat when unseated rider last in handicap hurdle at Wexford (20f, heavy, 15/2) 5 days ago. Switches from hurdles to chase and can take a step forward. Better chaser than hurdler and could go well if recapturing last year's good form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (16/1 +20%) Pebble Bleu |
16/1(+20%) | (6) Pebble Bleu 16/1, Fair chaser. Pulled up in novice chase (11/1) at Killarney (20.8f, good to soft) 11 days ago, pulled up approaching 2 out. Has to prove that her much-improved second on chase debut at Thurles was no fluke. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Having pulled up on her last two outings, HURRICANE GEORGIE clearly comes with risks attached. However, the seven-year-old is 10lb clear off her nearest rival in the ratings and first time out this year could be the time to catch her. Good As Hell has been somewhat underwhelming on her last few appearances over hurdles and the Philip Fenton-trained mare needs a return to chasing to spark a revival, while Bonnie Kellie is another to bear in mind.
Not the easiest race to assess but Gordon Elliott's HURRICANE GEORGE is taken to bounce back in these calmer waters and edge out Good As Hell who can build on her recent Wexford effort. Bonnie Kellie and Bella Bliss can fight it out for minor honours.
A trappy race. HURRICANE GEORGIE has to steady the ship after two non-completions but she's best in at the weights.

Swift Victory |
(1) (7/2 +30%)7/2(+30%) | (1) Swift Victory 7/2, Displayed an impressive turn of foot when making second nursery start a winning one in November and encouraging reappearance run when fourth at Kempton (1m) earlier this month, not clear run 1f out and running on. Handy draw to work from back on turf and of interest. Has possibilities provided his AW progress is transferred back to turf. |

Berkshire Nugget |
(10) (15/2 -25%)15/2(-25%) | (10) Berkshire Nugget 15/2, Showed much improved form making handicap debut (also gelded) when runner-up on return at Kempton (7f) in April. Couldn't quite repeat that level when third in a Goodwood maiden (1m, soft) since but the return to forecast better ground may help returned to handicaps. Beaten favourite in both outings this term but can't be written off yet. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (9) (11/1 -10%) Blake |
11/1(-10%) | (9) Blake 11/1, Zoffany colt. Made the frame on 2 of his 3 starts in novice/maidens and took a step forward granted the run of things when second of 4 in handicap at Doncaster (1m) 3 weeks ago. Likely he needs to pull out more in what rates a stronger affair, however. Form figures of 5332 reflect his steady progress; second at Doncaster latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (5/1 +38%) Ebt's Guard |
5/1(+38%) | (5) Ebt's Guard 5/1, Made the frame on 3 occasions as a juvenile and returned with an improved display on first try at 1m when third at Kempton 22 days ago, edged out late on having raced freely. That may not prove his limit at this sort of trip. Close third at Kempton on reappearance but record is now 0-8. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (11) (10/1 -33%) Kindest Nation |
10/1(-33%) | (11) Kindest Nation 10/1, Sioux Nation filly who built on debut effort when winning 10-runner Southwell maiden (7f) in March and took another step forward when third on handicap debut at Beverley (7.4f) 17 days ago. Promises to be suited by 1m on that evidence and likely she can do better again. Ran well at Beverley last time; steps up in class but she's improving. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (25/1 -108%) Dramatic Effect |
25/1(-108%) | (8) Dramatic Effect 25/1, Bated Breath filly who made the frame on 2 of 3 starts in 6f maiden/novice events as a 2-y-o. Has stamina on dams' side so likely she can improve now stepped up in trip on return/handicap debut. Market can prove a useful guide. Open to improvement now handicapping and upped in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (11/4 +39%) Zipster |
11/4(+39%) | (7) Zipster 11/4, Fair form when fifth on qualifying run at Wolverhampton (7f) in November and, having been gelded, he showed further improvement to score readily on handicap debut at Yarmouth (1m) 3 weeks ago. Could do with brushing up his starts but likely there's more to come. Won at Yarmouth on turf/handicap debut and looks the type to improve further. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (16/1 +43%) Dr Foster |
16/1(+43%) | (3) Dr Foster 16/1, Opened his account at Kempton (1m) in October and found some improvement equipped with blinkers when hitting the frame next 2 starts. Seemingly not 100% when last of 6 at first-named venue (11f) 6 weeks ago but he lacks the potential of one or two here. Headgear discarded. Consistent sort until form dipped the last twice; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (22/1 +0%) Commander Crouch |
22/1(+0%) | (6) Commander Crouch 22/1, 7f winner for Richard Hannon at 2. Better effort for new yard this year when sixth of 11 over 8.5f at Epsom last month but he never threatened. Eased 2 lb ahead of this. Still needs to prove he has trained on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (5/2 +64%) Surveyor |
5/2(+64%) | (4) Surveyor 5/2, Pivotal filly who showed improved form and a good attitude when opening her account on return in a Lingfield maiden (1m) in April. Not seen to best effect on handicap debut at Kempton (1m) since and she remains with potential moving forward. Better than bare result last time; remains open to further progress. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (9/1 +25%) Get The Music On |
9/1(+25%) | (2) Get The Music On 9/1, Runner-up on turf first 2 starts prior to making it third time lucky on AW at Kempton (7f) in November. Proved too free when seventh of 8 on return/handicap debut at Newbury (7f) 5 weeks ago but that ought to have taken the freshness out of her and it remains early days. Not fully exposed but doesn't appear to be crying out for this new trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
BERKSHIRE NUGGET seemed all at sea on the downhill drive for home at Goodwood, but may be worth another chance at this more galloping track. The Andrew Balding-trained gelding was well supported in the betting that day and any faithful supporters could be rewarded now he also has experience of the trip. Ebt's Guard rates the chief threat given he comfortably accounted for Swift Victory (fourth) and Surveyor (fifth) when registering a respectable third-placed finish at Kempton on his seasonal bow.
A winner at Kempton on his final start last year, SWIFT VICTORY shaped on his return at that venue 3 weeks ago, the muddling nature of the race not seeing him to anything like best effect. On a workable mark on that evidence, he earns the vote to confirm the promise shown back on turf. Yarmouth-scorer Zipster and Surveyor are others to consider, with Kindest Nation also respected on her first try at 1m.
With her turf form stacking up well, SURVEYOR (nap) looks interesting returned to this sphere. Zipster is second choice.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
FIDELIUS has shown promise in both starts since being gelded and is presented with a decent opportunity to gain a first career success now he drops back into novice company. Ten Commitments is open to improvement rates a big threat now he is tried in a hood, while Kento has experience of this course and can also figure prominently as he tries the minimum trip for the first time.
Robert Cowell's FIDELIUS holds the clear edge on form so looks the way to go. Kento could emerge as the chief threat if back on his A-game ahead of Match Anthem and Ten Commitments.
The Robert Cowell-trained FIDELIUS has run two sound races in handicaps since returning to action and can come good back in a novice.

18/1(+28%) | (11) Whateys Quest 18/1, Fair hurdler. Winner in hurdle at Clonmel in April. 9/4, fourth of 15 in novice chase at Tramore (21.8f, good) on debut over fences 31 days ago. Can take a step forward. Maiden hurdle winner before finishing fourth on chase debut at Tramore (2m6f). |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Stable debutant The Friday Man posted several creditable efforts under the tutelage of Gordon Elliott last year and he shouldn't be far away if resuming in the same form. However, MAIDENSTREETPRINCE arrives on the back of a solid second in a beginners chase at Ballinrobe and any improvement for that first start over fences should make the seven-year-old tough to beat. Recent Punchestown third Moonovercloon could also have a say if taking to the larger obstacles.
Lots of potential on show and Charles Byrnes' promising young chaser Maidenstreetprince is fancied to build on his debut Ballinrobe second and open his account in this sphere. Gordon Elliott's Fortunedefortunata also has better days ahead of him and is feared most with newcomers Moonovercloon, Cuta des As and Mayor's Walk also in the picture in a fascinating contest.
The benefit of chasing experience bodes well for MAIDENSTREETPRINCE who chased home a talented horse at Ballinrobe.

Sonic Blue |
(4) (15/2 +32%)15/2(+32%) | (4) Sonic Blue 15/2, £60,000 yearling, Blue Point colt. Half-brother to useful 1¼m winner Ermesinde. Dam unraced half-sister to 1m winner Eagle Rise and 9f-2m winner Eye of The Tiger (both smart). Justified support first time up in 4-runner maiden at Doncaster but that was a weak event so needs to step up considerably. Comfortably justified favouritism at Doncaster and looks potentially useful; interesting. |

1st (6) (4/1 +11%) Enchanting Empress |
4/1(+11%) | (6) Enchanting Empress 4/1, 62,000 gns yearling, Sergei Prokofiev filly. Dam 2-y-o 5f winner, fourth in Cornwallis Stakes. Responded well when making a successful start in 5f Wolverhampton maiden and beat 4 previous winners to follow up in class 2 at Ascot 3 weeks ago, edging out Rock Hunter. Needs considering. Stuck on well to beat Rock Hunter at Ascot, taking record to 2-2; major contender. |

2nd (3) (9/2 +10%) Rock Hunter |
9/2(+10%) | (3) Rock Hunter 9/2, Made a winning start at Chantilly (5f, heavy) and only just edged out by Enchanting Empress in class 2 event at Ascot (5f, good) 22 days ago. Has more to offer still. Won easily at Chantilly then finished only a neck behind Enchanting Empress at Ascot. |

3rd (5) (16/1 +43%) Zminiature |
16/1(+43%) | (5) Zminiature 16/1, Territories colt. Dam twice-raced half-sister to useful 1¼m-1½m winner Highland Rocker out of useful 7f-1¼m winner (stayed 1½m) Cay Dancer. Won a weak renewal of the Brocklesby at Doncaster (heavy) so opposable facing vastly different conditions. Absent since winning a substandard Brocklesby two months ago; the form lacks strength. |

4th (2) (7/1 +30%) Reposado |
7/1(+30%) | (2) Reposado 7/1, £200,000 yearling, Wootton Bassett colt. Half-brother to 3 winners, including smart 2-y-o 5f/6f winner Trillium and useful 2-y-o 6.5f winner American Kestrel. Dam 2-y-o 7f winner. Well behind Hawaiian at Newbury on debut but left that well behind when head second at Ascot. More needed again. though. Nearly made all at Ascot last time; bred to make a useful 2yo; should improve further. |

5th (7) (16/1 +0%) Spirited Dancer |
16/1(+0%) | (7) Spirited Dancer 16/1, Put experience to good use when 5-length winner of 14-runner maiden at Bath (5.7f, good, 11/1) 8 days ago but more needed again in much stronger event. Striking while the iron's hot, having recorded a 5l win at Bath last week; not ruled out. |

6th (1) (6/5 +0%) Hawaiian |
6/5(+0%) | (1) Hawaiian 6/5, Kodiac colt. Dam, 7f winner on only start, half-sister to smart winner up to 7f Culturati. Justified market confidence when making a winning start in newcomers event at Newbury 5 weeks ago, never in much danger of defeat despite the narrow margin. Sure to go on to better things. Form of Newbury win has substance; Hannon yard has a good record in this race; respected. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
HAWAIIAN was always doing enough to hold on when he was pressed near the finish during his successful debut at Newbury last month and created the impression he has plenty more to give. That was a very professional display and, given the Kodiac colt runs for a yard with a fine record in this race, another bold showing is expected. The unbeaten Enchanting Empress has a major chance, with the 5lb sex allowance a key factor. Zminiature and Sonic Blue also command respect.
HAWAIIAN looked Royal Ascot material when justifying market support at Newbury and can provide the Richard Hannon stable with a remarkable 13th win in this race. There wasn't much between Enchanting Empress and Rock Hunter when 1-2 in a class 2 at Ascot and that's the next best form on offer.
Newbury winner HAWAIIAN holds the strongest claims on form. Reposado, from the rail draw, is second choice.

9th (2) (14/1 -40%) Eeh Bah Gum |
14/1(-40%) | (2) Eeh Bah Gum 14/1, First run since leaving Ivan Furtado when fifth of 8 in handicap (12/1) at Nottingham (5f, good to firm) 12 days ago. More is required. All nine wins have been on turf; can improve after fifth on stable debut this month.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
DARK SIDE PRINCE arrives here on the back of two C&D victories earlier in the year and a 3lb rise for the most recent of those wins may not be enough to stop him here. That said, Spanish Angel has also been in good form of late and could give the selection plenty to think about, while Popular Dream and Mick's Spirit are also noted.
DARK SIDE PRINCE arrives a multiple C&D winner and at the top of his game so edges the vote. The lightly-raced Popular Dream heads the list of dangers, although Saaheq and Aces Wild also need factoring into this open handicap along with the handily-weighted Beauzon.
Dark Side Prince is on a hat-trick but preference is for SAAHEQ to take advantage off a career-low mark.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
KILMACURKIN was going well until a mistake two out saw him fade to third on his chasing debut at Downpatrick last month and he's likely to have benefitted from the experience. A step forward could be enough to see the son of Flemensfirth gain a first career success. Gold Haven, a close second on her chasing bow at Tramore, also rates a key player on the back of that promising run. The class-dropping Tullyhogue Fort has more experience over fences and is not ruled out at this level.
GOLD HAVEN left her hurdles form behind at the first attempt over fences when second at Tramore a month ago and on that evidence, this mark could well be within range. Junot was better than ever over hurdles on Saturday so has to be feared, along with KIlmacurkin.
It was a positive start over fences for GOLD HAVEN when second at Tramore and she's taken to go one better.

1st (5) (5/2 -11%) Sweet William |
5/2(-11%) | (5) Sweet William 5/2, Most progressive equipped with blinkers last season, winning competitive handicaps at Newbury and Goodwood. Excellent second in the Ebor at York and ran at least as well upped in grade when runner-up to Trueshan in Doncaster Cup. Looked a bit half-hearted on return and visor replaces blinkers. Lost out late on to Caius Chorister in 2m Group 3 at Ascot on return; big player. |

Plenty of good efforts in defeat last season before finally back to winning ways in Group 3 at Saint-Cloud (13.9f, soft) final start. Took form to a new level when runner-up on first crack at 2m when second in the Sagaro Stakes. Big player. Another new high when coming from last to second in 2m Group 3 at Ascot (good to soft). |

3rd (1) (5/1 +0%) Trueshan |
5/1(+0%) | (1) Trueshan 5/1, One of the leading stayers of recent years. Signs of decline early last season but showed he still has plenty to offer when landing the Doncaster Cup and Prix du Cadran. Shouldered 7 lb penalty (same again here) and just a respectable return at Ascot on the back of another wind op. 7lb penalty again makes his task additionally hard; usually kept to going softer than good. |

Found revised mark beyond him back on the level at Newbury and tall order on these terms at this stage of his career. Needs a career best in Group race; rain rather than drying conditions is a boost. |

6th (6) (4/1 +20%) Chesspiece |
4/1(+20%) | (6) Chesspiece 4/1, Looked a smart young staying prospect when scoring in a Hamilton listed event in July before meeting a narrow defeat in the Gordon Stakes at Goodwood. Only mid-field in the St Leger but soon back on track when runner-up at Ascot and seems sure to step up on his reappearance. Not yet exposed. Peak form gives him a chance and he could prove well suited by this first crack at 2m. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
SWEET WILLIAM has held sway over Trueshan in their last two encounters and his younger legs may again be the most telling factor as the pair renew rivalries for the fourth time, especially as the latter has a 7lb Group 1 penalty for last September's success in the Prix du Cadran at Longchamp. Caius Chorister, who was ahead of her two main rivals when runner-up in the Sagaro, also picks up a 3lb penalty for a French Group 3 win last autumn and may struggle to uphold the Ascot form now the selection has the benefit of a run under his belt.
CAIUS CHORISTER saw out 2m tackling it for the first time really well when a head-second in Group 3 company on reappearance 3 weeks ago. That was a career-best effort and marks her down as just about the one to beat on these terms. Sweet William is next in on form but there are serious doubts over her will to win, so unexposed 4-y-o Chesspiece is feared most.
Caius Chorister is narrowly preferred in the Sagaro rematch but CHESSPIECE having his first run at the trip also makes appeal.

ALL IN THE HIPS was successful over 6f at Wolverhampton 10 days ago and David Evans' filly is very hard to oppose off a 1lb lower mark here, which leaves her 4lb well in. Daytona Lady was only narrowly denied over course and distance three weeks ago and is likely to be in the mix once again, while Jungle Run and Man On A Mission are the pick of the remainder.
ALL IN THE HIPS benefited from a return to AW when providing this rider with a first career winner at Wolverhampton 10 days ago and she's taken to follow up at the possible expense of the in-form Jungle Run. Daytona Lady also makes plenty of appeal.
Last year's all-the-way winner of this JUNGLE RUN is well drawn to attack and can see off the unpenalised All In The Hips.

Sam Magee |
(8) (11/2 -83%)11/2(-83%) | (8) Sam Magee 11/2, Jet Away gelding who found some improvement when winning 4-runner novice hurdle at Wexford (24f, good to soft) 28 days ago, by 7 lengths from Givehimthehonour, pushed out. Boasts a win in points previously and no surprise to see him make his mark over larger obstacles. Wexford novice hurdle winner; could well play a major role on chasing debut. |

Folcano |
(4) (11/1 -38%)11/1(-38%) | (4) Folcano 11/1, Useful handicap hurdler who displayed definite promise initially over fences during 2022. Possibly needed the run after 16 months off when pulled up in handicap chase at Navan (23.4f, heavy) 61 days ago, tailing off early in straight. This should reveal more. Moderate comeback run in March; chance on past form but hard to be confident in now. |

West Is Awake |
(10) (16/1 -14%)16/1(-14%) | (10) West Is Awake 16/1, Fairly useful hurdler. Latest win in hurdle at Fairyhouse in October. Respectable fifth of 11 in handicap hurdle (5/1) at Leopardstown (23.4f, heavy) 147 days ago. Makes chase debut. 118-rated hurdler goes well fresh but likely to be all the better for this chase debut. |

Givehimthehonour |
(5) (16/1 +0%)16/1(+0%) | (5) Givehimthehonour 16/1, Fair hurdler. 6/4, 7 lengths second of 4 to Sam Magee in novice hurdle at Wexford (24f, good to soft) 28 days ago. Successful only start in points and he could have more to offer now attentions switch to larger obstacles. Placed form hurdling; points' winner the type to make a better chaser. |

All In Montmartre |
(1) (17/2 +66%)17/2(+66%) | (1) All In Montmartre 17/2, Pulled up sole start in points but made perfect start over hurdles when winning a Downpatrick maiden (18.7f) last June. Absent since finishing seventh of 8 in novice hurdle at Galway (20.7f, good to soft) in August and market best guide now chasing after 9 months off. Chasing debut after 9 months absence; seemingly the stable second-choice so may need this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (7) (10/11 +86%) Reverend Hubert |
10/11(+86%) | (7) Reverend Hubert 10/11, Fairly useful hurdler who opened his account in that sphere at Downpatrick (21.7f) last summer. Fit from a spin on the Flat at Navan (13f) last month and the market should guide now his attentions switch to chasing. 134-rated hurdler; interesting to see how Flat-bred 6yo takes to fences here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (15/2 -15%) Stuzzikini |
15/2(-15%) | (9) Stuzzikini 15/2, Useful hurdler. Latest win in hurdle at Clonmel in November. 100/1, bit below form eleventh of 25 in handicap hurdle at Punchestown (23.5f, good to soft) 21 days ago. Makes chase debut. 128-rated hurdler disappointing of late but still respected on chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (11) (15/8 +16%) What Path |
15/8(+16%) | (11) What Path 15/8, Useful hurdler. 33/1, below form sixteenth of 25 in handicap hurdle at Punchestown (23.5f, good to soft) 21 days ago. Represents top yard and he could yet get back on track now switched to larger obstacles. Among the best of these hurdling; major player if jumping holds up on chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (14/1 +13%) Caesar Rock |
14/1(+13%) | (2) Caesar Rock 14/1, Fairly useful chaser. 20/1, fifth of 7 in novice chase at Tipperary (23.4f, good to soft) 14 days ago. Claims on pick of form for all he's had plenty of chances already. Plenty of chasing experience; better for recent comeback run and place claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (12/1 +40%) Chiefs Kingdom |
12/1(+40%) | (3) Chiefs Kingdom 12/1, Fair hurdler. 9/2, showed plenty to work on when fourth of 10 in novice chase at Wexford (16f, good to soft) on debut over fences 28 days ago, inadequate test. Step back up in trip should help and likely he can do better again. Respectable chasing debut at Wexford but gave the impression he'll need more experience. |

6th (6) (100/1 +33%) Portnacoo |
100/1(+33%) | (6) Portnacoo 100/1, Modest hurdler. 12/1, below form ninth of 15 in handicap hurdle at Down Royal (19.8f, soft) 39 days ago. Tongue strap on 1st time but he's hard to warm to on chase debut. Moderate maiden hurdler, very hard to see him featuring on chase debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
WHAT PATH was quite highly tried over hurdles and starts out over fences at a realistic level for one of his potential. A large-framed son of Coastal Path, the selection has the stamp of a chaser and could well flourish over the larger obstacles at the first time of asking. Chiefs Kingdom posted a respectable effort on his chasing bow at Wexford last month and can go close with another step forward, while Sam Magee and Reverend Hubert are a couple of others to note.
WHAT PATH hasn't been at his very best over hurdles in recent months but the pick of his form in that sphere entitles him to plenty of respect now chasing and he could just be worth siding with to get back on track for his leading yard. Sam Magee, following a career best over hurdles, is also respected, with the Gordon Elliott pair Stuzzikini and Folcano others to note.
Quite competitive with the less exposed SAM MAGEE taken to make a winning chase debut

Isle Of Jura |
(2) (5/1 -25%)5/1(-25%) | (2) Isle Of Jura 5/1, Well-bred colt who is improving at a rate of knots, showing his opening mark to be all wrong at Newbury before following up in easy fashion at Newmarket (both 1m). Won 4 of his 5 starts in Bahrain in recent months and there's plenty to like back on home soil. Landed the Bahrain Triple Crown, taking turf record to 6-9; respected back on home soil. |

1st (3) (1/2 +38%) Royal Rhyme |
1/2(+38%) | (3) Royal Rhyme 1/2, Bolted up in a Glorious Goodwood handicap last summer and confirmed himself a highly talented colt when taking an Ayr listed race (1¼m, good) in September. Far from disgraced stepped up to a Group 1 when fifth in Champion Stakes at Ascot final start. Appeals as one who will do well at 4 yrs. Progressive sort; not disgraced in the 2023 Champion Stakes; seems to need slow ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (7/2 +22%) Certain Lad |
7/2(+22%) | (1) Certain Lad 7/2, Proved he's still a smart performer when ending a 3-year losing streak in a York handicap in October before following up at Doncaster a fortnight later. Respectable fourth in Group 3 at Newbury (12f, good) on return but likely to find a few too strong in this. Retains ability but this 8yo looks vulnerable against some progressive 4yos. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (17/2 +29%) Miss Cantik |
17/2(+29%) | (5) Miss Cantik 17/2, Campaigned exclusively in France at 3 yrs, winning twice last spring, and almost certainly showed improved form under an enterprising ride from his claimer when making a winning handicap debut at Leicester (8.2f, heavy) last month. This tougher and circumstances are unlikely to be so favourable. Defied a mark of 99 at Leicester on reappearance; open to further improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (11/1 +50%) Elegancia |
11/1(+50%) | (4) Elegancia 11/1, Useful dual winner over this trip last year. Came up short at Group 3/listed level on her final 2 starts but returns with her yard going well and no surprise were she to make more of an impact this time. Won her last two attempts over 1m2f on turf but faces a difficult task in this field. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
In a weak renewal of this race the vote goes to ROYAL RHYME, who progressed well as a three-year-old and won a 1m2f Listed event at Ayr before finishing fifth in the Champion Stakes on his final start of 2023. A reproduction of either of those efforts would give Karl Burke's colt a big chance on his return to action. Certain Lad was not beaten far at all in the John Porter over 1m4f on his seasonal return last month and he is arguably better over this trip. With that in mind, he may pose the biggest threat to the selection, ahead of Isle Of Jura.
As is usually the case, a small but select field assemble for this Group 3 and it's ROYAL RHYME who is selected to make a winning reappearance having found the step up from listed company too much of a gap to bridge in the Champion Stakes at Ascot last October. Isle of Jura has won 6 of his last 8 starts, so he looks the obvious danger back on home soil, with Certain Lad, who is double the age of his 4 rivals, completing the shortlist.
Some rain is forecast, so ROYAL RHYME is preferred. Isle of Jura is the best option if the going is good or firmer.

33/1(-175%) | (4) Dors Toyboy 33/1, C&D winner. Twelve runs since last win in 2022. 8/1, below form 13 lengths sixth of 10 to Amaysmont in handicap at this course (6f) 14 days ago. Has a bit to prove. On a dangerous mark after a 12-race losing run; bit to prove after his last two efforts.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
AMAYSMONT put two second-placed finishes in a row behind him when winning well over 6f here two weeks ago and the in-form seven-year-old sets the standard on that evidence. Ballybaymoonshiner scored over track and trip on his penultimate start and his most recent second at Lingfield was far from disappointing. Outreach edges out Tonal and Warrior Square to be next best.
BALLYBAYMOONSHINER is right at the top of his game and is fancied to get back to winning ways on the back off an excellent second at Lingfield. Amaysmont is an obvious danger following his success over 6f here a fortnight ago and Tonal should be on the premises.
On his second start for Stuart Williams and with new headgear fitted, TOP BUTTON can take advantage of a handy mark.

KILMURRY JJ got off the mark on just his second start for these connections over 2m6f at Tramore last month and the seven-year-old merits the utmost respect, despite an 8lb rise in the ratings for that success. Lilian Bland was well held when third at Killarney recently but she should not be discounted, while Glenmalure Lodge and Cosmic Blizzard are others to note.
KILMURRY JJ Landed a few bets when making his second chase start a winning one at Tramore a month ago under this conditional rider and the follow up may well be forthcoming. Lilian Bland and Glenmalure Lodge are a couple of potential threats.
KILMURRY JJ (nap) is one of the few progressive types in the field and can follow up a recent Tramore win on similar ground

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
Cases can be made for all of these but marginal preference is for REMAADD, who confirmed the promise that he displayed as a juvenile when finishing third in the Classic Trial over 1m2f at this venue last month. The son of Gleneagles did not appear to see out the trip that day and better can be expected over this distance. Sons And Lovers was far from disgraced when making the frame in the Craven on just his second start and he has to be of interest on the back of that effort. Balmacara and Kikkuli both look to have very bright futures and should not be underestimated, while Ice Max merits this step up in grade following an impressive handicap victory off a mark of 97 last time.
Harry Charlton's KIKKULI is bred to take high rank and looked a very good prospect when getting off the mark at Newmarket so gets the vote in an intriguing Heron Stakes. Karl Burke's Ice Max rates the form choice and is next on the list ahead of progressive duo Remaadd and Balmacara.
Ice Max has the best chance on ratings but there are plausible alternatives, most notably promising colts KIKKULI and Almaqam.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
MAGIC GEM posted another creditable effort in defeat when a close-up second on his seasonal/stable debut at Newcastle earlier this month. Michael Herrington's gelding should appreciate this return to 7f and a first victory in 2024 could be on the cards. Conversely, Daphne May is likely to fare better on this drop in trip and the daughter of Mayson isn't taken lightly, while C&D scorer Heerathetrack is likely to be involved at the business end too.
MAGIC GEM is lightly raced for his age and produced an excellent first effort for this stable when runner-up at Newcastle on return, so he's fancied to go one better in a thin race. Heerathetrack looks the obvious danger and Daphne May could take a hand if the drop in trip doesn't catch her out.
The suggestion is MAGIC GEM (nap) who is proven over this trip and arrives on the back of a career best on debut for this trainer.

|F| (1) (14/1 +36%) Sphagnum |
14/1(+36%) | (1) Sphagnum 14/1, 20/1, possibly amiss when pulled up in handicap hurdle at Thurles (20.6f, soft), weakening early final circuit. Off 6 months. Switches from hurdles to chase. Up in trip. Makes handicap chase debut. Absent since pulled up over hurdles in November; handicap debut and may just need this. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
INVICTUS MACHIN put in a career best over fences when second over an extended 2m5f at Tramore a month ago and Gavin Cromwell's gelding could go one better with a reproduction of that effort here. That said, Bocelli's Voice is an obvious threat to the selection following his Wexford victory four weeks ago and Surf Club is another with valid form claims.
SURF CLUB jumped well when making a winning start to chasing at Tramore in April and probably found the race coming too soon over hurdles next time, so he's a confident choice to double his tally in this sphere at the possible expense of Bocelli's Voice, who found plenty to score at Wexford last time. Invictus Machine is another one to consider.
This step up in trip could bring about improvement in the 6yo INVICTUS MACHIN who was doing his best work at the finish at Tramore

Bluelight Bay |
(10) (22/1 -57%)22/1(-57%) | (10) Bluelight Bay 22/1, Couple of good efforts in defeat after winning at Salisbury last summer but failed to justify support when only eighth of 9 in handicap (4/1) at Ascot (8f, good) 22 days ago and needs to bounce back. Won off 1lb higher at Salisbury last June; possibilities. |

Alzahir |
(1) (25/1 -79%)25/1(-79%) | (1) Alzahir 25/1, Useful dual winner for the Gosden stable and ran well on his return from 8 months off when fourth of 13 in handicap at Chester (7.6f, good to firm, 40/1) 13 days ago. Still relatively low mileage, so no surprise if has even more to offer this term. Ran creditably at Chester on reappearance, taking form figures for new yard to 054. |

Excel Power |
(7) (25/1 -25%)25/1(-25%) | (7) Excel Power 25/1, Winless since scoring twice on the all-weather in late-2022 and his latest seventh of 10 in handicap at Kempton (8f) 52 days ago didn't really signify a return to his best. Others preferred. Others have stronger claims on 2024 efforts; no win since 2022. |

1st (4) (17/2 -31%) Dual Identity |
17/2(-31%) | (4) Dual Identity 17/2, Contested plenty of the big handicaps last term and back to winning ways with a wide-margin success over 10f here in September. Shaped better than the bare result when fifth of 7 at Epsom (10.1f, good to firm, 9/2) 30 days ago and he's not taken lightly with race fitness now on his side. Good record over 1m2f at this venue; drop back to 1m looks a negative. |

2nd (12) (9/2 +68%) Magic Memories |
9/2(+68%) | (12) Magic Memories 9/2, Generally progressive at 3 yrs and ran creditably on return when fifth in the Spring Mile at Doncaster. Disappointing at Leicester since, but overall profile is positive enough to think he could still do better this year. Form dipped last time but consistent otherwise; bred to add to his tally of one win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (16/1 -60%) Regheeb |
16/1(-60%) | (6) Regheeb 16/1, Debut winner at Nottingham last season before landing short odds at Lingfield on third start. Ran well after 5 months off when length second of 7 to Hiromichi in handicap at Ripon (8f, heavy, 14/1) 26 days ago and he remains unexposed as a miler. Good second to Hiromichi at Ripon on reappearance; may progress further. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (16/5 +9%) Crack Shot |
16/5(+9%) | (5) Crack Shot 16/5, Progressive at 3 yrs, edging out Classic at Newbury on his penultimate outing. Didn't really need to advance his form to make a winning return in a 6-runner handicap at Newmarket (8f, good) 19 days ago but remains low mileage and can continue on his upward curve. Newmarket reappearance win took his form figures over 1m to 1211; commands respect. |

5th (2) (11/2 +39%) Navagio |
11/2(+39%) | (2) Navagio 11/2, Useful 1m/9.5f winner in Ireland for Ray Cody last summer. Changed hands for 47,000 gns and shaped well for his new yard when third of 20 in the Lincoln at Doncaster on his return. Disappointed in Spring Cup since and could possibly do with the rain arriving. Best form on soft, including placed effort in this year's Lincoln (stable debut). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (12/1 +40%) Al Rufaa |
12/1(+40%) | (9) Al Rufaa 12/1, On a decent mark given his best and still hasn't has too much racing for this yard, though headstrong tendencies have proved a major issue of late, including when ninth of 11 in handicap at Chester (10.3f, good) 14 days ago. Drop back to 1m may help him settle. Useful on his day but has failed to score on turf since 2020. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (11) (9/1 +0%) Hiromichi |
9/1(+0%) | (11) Hiromichi 9/1, Winner of 3 his last 5 outings, making a winning comeback at Lingfield last month before producing a career best when beating Regheeb at Ripon (8f, heavy) 26 days ago. Up 4 lb in a stronger contest but merits respect nonetheless. Ripon success (beat Regheeb) took his strike-rate to 8-25; productive sort. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (15/2 +25%) Dragon Icon |
15/2(+25%) | (8) Dragon Icon 15/2, Shaped very well when a fast-finishing fourth at Kempton in February. Not seen to best effect on next start but had fewer excuses when down the field at that same course last time. Others preferred. Ran respectably in last year's German 2,000 Guineas on sole turf attempt; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (8/1 -33%) Classic |
8/1(-33%) | (3) Classic 8/1, Improved winning over 7f at Sandown in July and shaped well in defeat on his next 2 outings, picked off late only late by Crack Shot at Newbury (8f, good to firm), Meets that rival on more favourable terms here and is shortlisted on return from 8 months off. Ties in with Crack Shot; won a handicap here on Eclipse day last year; interesting. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
CRACK SHOT made a winning return to action over a mile at Newmarket earlier in the month and a 5lb rise for that success may not be enough to stop this progressive son of Kingman going in again. Alzahir outran his odds when filling fourth over an extended 7f at Chester recently and he may still have more to offer on just his fourth start for these connections. Hiromichi and Regheeb are others with strong form claims, while Dual Identity has a very good record at this venue and completes the shortlist.
DUAL IDENTITY bolted up over 10f here last season and showed enough to be positive about on his return at Epsom to think he cam resume winning ways at the chief expense of Crack Shot and Classic, who had little between them when meeting at Newbury last season and appeal as the types to progress into top-level handicappers this year.
With further progress on the cards, CRACK SHOT is taken to follow up his Newmarket win. Classic is second choice.

Below form fifth of 13 in handicap at Bath (8f, good to soft, 9/4) 34 days ago. Back up in trip. C&D winner last month; well held on turf latest and needs to bounce back this evening.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
A 5lb penalty may not be enough to prevent recent Newcastle scorer NATZOR from following up. The David O'Meara-trained gelding relished the return to 1m2f and he scored with enough in hand on that occasion to suggest that there is more to come. The biggest threat may emerge from Photon, who has been knocking on the door on his latest outings, while Ludo's Landing enjoys a 5lb swing with the selection having finished second at Gosforth Park and warrants respect.
Plenty of these arrive in good form, including PHOTON who went as close as he ever has to shedding the maiden tag when headed close home at Wolverhampton in March and a 1 lb rise in the weights shouldn't prevent him making another bold bid. Natzor cemented the positive start made for David O'Meara when successful at Newcastle 11 days ago, and along with Royal Dream, heads up the dangers.
Preference is for NATZOR, who arrives in cracking form and is taken to defy a 5lb penalty. Ludo's Landing is second choice.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
