LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

A winner of all three starts over C&D, including at this meeting last year, WOODHAY WONDER should appreciate going back up to 6f and she looks the one to be with despite the burden of topweight. The four-year-old gets the vote ahead of last year's winner Dark Thirty, who returns off 4lb lower and in top form after a determined success at Doncaster last month. Elmonjed began to live up to his pedigree with valuable successes at York and Windsor to finish last season and is a key player on his return, along with the consistent Aramram.

Aramram is greatly respected but it might be worth chancing TWILIGHT ROMANCE now he returns to turf and without a hood.

CLOUDY WEDNESDAY has been performing honourably in defeat since returning to the fray and, with Faitque De L'Isle out, his path towards a deserved victory has been made considerably easier. Fever Dream has had wind surgery, though, so could easily make a nuisance of himself. Big Bee Hive let down favourite-backers here last time, but there will be plenty who keep the faith.

Topweight FEVER DREAM will appreciate this ease in grade and be suited by the return to 3m. Big Bee Hive is feared most.

Fresh off success in the Greenham on Saturday with another former Sir Michael Stoute-trained inmate, Juddmonte could have another smart one on their hands in the shape of NIGHTWALKER. The son of Frankel ended last season with a promising third in the Autumn Stakes here, and going up in trip should be ideal for this Derby entry. Masai Moon will need to improve on a comfortable debut success at Kempton but he has plenty of potential, while similar comments apply to Yarmouth winner Sallaal, who is bred in the purple for a stable in excellent form. Runner-up in the Criterium de Saint-Cloud when last seen, Green Storm is another to consider.

Superbly bred SALLAAL looks one to follow and he is first choice ahead of Masai Moon, who is another promising once-raced colt.

Plenty of in-form horses here, headed by top-weight PEP TALKING, who made the most of a change of tactics to make all at Hereford for a comfortable four-length success. Upped 5lb for that win, he can hopefully shrug that off assuming Gavin Sheehan tries to do the same again. Stardhem rates his biggest danger after a pair of wins at Huntingdon and he cannot be underestimated, despite an 8lb rise in the weights, leaving Ensel Du Perche and We Got Your Back to battle for the minor placing.

In-form 6yo STARDHEM could still have significant further improvement to come and is selected to maintain his unbeaten chase record.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

A comfortable winner of this contest the last two years, OTTOMAN FLEET should be primed for the hat-trick after a pair of respectable efforts at Meydan. Fast ground should not inconvenience either, and this course specialist may have too much for the talented Ambiente Friendly, who was beaten first time out over C&D last season before going on to place in the Derby and Irish Derby. Dropping back to this trip may not be ideal on his first start for the James Owen team, and it may be the improving Persica that gets closest to the selection after a respectable effort in the Winter Derby at Southwell.

Back down in trip/class, AMBIENTE FRIENDLY (nap) is taken to get his 4yo season off to a winning start. Ottoman Fleet is respected.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

Kientzheim is a progressive sort for Nicky Henderson after a win at Kempton and a third at Newbury, and she will be a danger to all in receipt of 12lb from SERIOUS CHALLENGE. Fergal O'Brien's Fracas gelding has won his last two over hurdles at Plumpton and Ayr on softer surfaces, but has placed form on the Flat in Ireland on good ground and he may even improve for it here. Sorceleur returns to novice company after a respectable run in the Imperial Cup and is another to consider in this field.

Nicky Henderson's mare KIENTZHEIM was quite impressive on her hurdling debut and might be the answer to this interesting race.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

Remaat made all to win a maiden on the July course and with the Andrew Balding yard in good form, the daughter of Kodiac could run a big race. Verse Of Love won her only start by five lengths over C&D and she is open to any amount of improvement, but NARDRA is narrowly preferred. The William Haggas-trained filly quickened up impressively before going clear at Haydock last September and if she takes to the quicker ground, she may win this before heading to the 1000 Guineas next month.

Verse Of Love has strong claims but an interesting alternative is another once-raced filly who has big potential, namely NARDRA.

Having regained the winning thread at Fontwell last month, a 4lb higher mark shouldn't prevent another bold bid from Pipers Cross. However, OUR PINK LADY's latest second behind a rejuvenated rival over an extended 2m4f here gives her the edge. The daughter of Westerner looks worth another go over today's longer distance and compensation could be on the cards. Cluain Aodha, Jacksbar and Aazza are others of interest in a competitive event.

The most appealing one is JACKSBAR (nap), who has shown improvement on her last two appearances and promises to be suited by 3m.

LTO Selection:

Richard Hannon has already had a two-year-old winner this season and he will have a good idea of where HARRY'S GIRL sits in the stable pecking order. The Harry Angel filly is certainly bred to be speedy and tops the shortlist. Twilight Star represents Charlie Appleby and is closely related to plenty of winners over this trip, while Naana's Shadow is one to note for Alice Haynes.

Suitably bred RUBY'S ANGEL is first choice ahead of Twilight Star and Meelaf. The betting should offer further guidance.

ART OF DIPLOMACY lost little in defeat on his latest third in a class 3 chase at Newbury and he makes a considerable amount of appeal reverting to timber at a lower level. The nine-year-old races off an unchanged mark and the application of first-time blinkers could eke out further improvement. Uokhun arrives on the back on a respectable seventh in a series final at Musselburgh and she should prove more competitive in these calmer waters. My Gift To You is the pick of the remainder.

The pick is class-dropper ART OF DIPLOMACY, who reverts to hurdling after a creditable third off today's mark in a Newbury chase.

Victory Queen is a half-sister to the Classic winner Coroebus and would need to be taken seriously if the market speaks in her favour on debut. However, PELEAN looks the way to go. John & Thady Gosden's three-year-old shaped with lots of promise when beaten a neck into second on her first start at Southwell and could take a step forward to strike. Zgharta sports a first-time hood and is another to keep an eye on.

This features a clash between two interesting newcomers who could be well above average, namely GOLDIE TRICKETT and Victory Queen.

LUMINOSO only found a more experienced rival too good when hitting the crossbar on her debut over a mile at Southwell earlier in the month. The daughter of Kodiac is likely to have more to offer and this step up in trip could bring out any amount of improvement. Shaffron is related to plenty of winners and goes for the in-form David Menuisier yard, so needs to be monitored in the market, along with newcomer Lalique.

Kodiac filly LUMINOSO shaped well on her recent debut when runner-up at Southwell and can go one better now

DUBLIN TO MILAN posted his best effort to date when finishing second over 2m6f at Stratford 17 days ago and today's step up in distance could be the making of him. The son of Milan is having just his third start in handicap company and he's taken to fend off chief rival Ballyvaughan Bay. The eight-year-old warrants respect returning to the C&D of his last triumph and isn't taken lightly. Kankin and Jumble Jury also have the form to figure.

C&D winner BALLYVAUGHAN BAY returned from a layoff with a pleasing run last month and is selected in the hope he can make all.

TREASURE FLEET has been sent off at short odds and comfortably scored on both of his starts to date at Wolverhampton. The son of Kingman has shaped as if this rise in distance would be a good move and he can make a winning handicap debut. The Trickster is also unbeaten in two outings and would be foolish to dismiss on his return to action, while Lady Chartwell has Ryan Moore booked and is another to watch out for.

The shortlist comprises THE TRICKSTER and Treasure Fleet who are both 2-2 and bring major potential to handicap level.

DIANARINA took a step forward from her debut effort to fill the runner-up spot at Lingfield last month and is likely to have plenty of improvement in her. Little She has shown ability on both of her starts to date and Billy Loughnane is an eye-catching booking, so she has to be respected. Any market support for Linear Spirit would be interesting.

Iconnic may reverse Lingfield placings with Dianarina but LITTLE SHE could be the answer now up in trip.

Angelica K finished a close-up third at Southwell last week and is looking to record a second C&D victory off an unchanged rating. However, the vote goes to CIOTOG, who did well to finish third after being slowly away from the stalls at Wolverhampton last month. With a better break this time, he might be the one to beat. Francesi is another to consider.

Jonathan Portman's NEWFANGLED (nap) scored three times in 2024 and gets a confident vote after a promising reappearance third

DRUMSTICK was too bad to be true when finishing ninth over C&D in January and he could be worth chancing on the back of a 97-day break. John Gallagher's charge had previously hit the frame at Newcastle and a reproduction of that effort may prove sufficient. Calanthe arrives on the back of a solid fifth in a 21-runner affair at Doncaster and he's feared most, ahead of seasonal debutant Racing Demon.

Drumstick still has some potential over this C&D but THE SPOTLIGHT KID has won two of his last three course starts and is preferred.

INVINCIBLE MELODY has been knocking on the door in recent months and compensation could be on the cards. The son of Invincible Army recently finished second at Wolverhampton and he makes plenty of appeal racing off an unchanged mark. The biggest threat may emerge from fellow in-form rival Blue Seeker, although market support for handicap/seasonal debutant Jersey Maverick would be interesting. Knights Gold is also noted.

Orchard can rate higher this year but INVINCIBLE MELODY has been threatening to win one of these and he can come out on top.

Having finished a close-up second over track and trip last month, Foro Romano is forecast to give another bold bid. However, a 2lb nudge up in the ratings demands more from Marco Botti's inmate and preference is for QUEUE DOS. The daughter of Massaat offered plenty of encouragement on her third-placed reappearance over 7f here 20 days ago and dropping a furlong could prove fruitful. Fleetwater, My Mate Kev and Brightwalton are others to consider.

An interesting race in which a chance is taken that the return to AW prompts a revival from EQUALISED. My Mate Kev is next best.

AL AMEEN arrives at the top of his game having landed a double over 7f here. James Fanshawe's charge will likely be raised by more than today's 5lb penalty after this, given he trounced his rivals by over five lengths last time. Intervention found the minimum trip at Pontefract too sharp on his latest start, but could land a blow over this extra furlong, while Twilight Madness has a recent outing under his belt and may also get involved.

Bishop's Crown can go well on his return but this could be the day things fall into place for BLUE DAY.

FEDERATED gets another chance returning to this longer trip. The son of War Front scored over course and distance last term and, having won over 1m4f when successful at Newcastle in January, John Butler's progressive charge looks to have plenty more to offer. Detroit Lion has been threatening to open his account and placed again when runner-up at Pontefract a week ago, while Bas Bleu is one to note on her reappearance.

John Butler's upwardly mobile C&D scorer FEDERATED is able to race off the same mark as when a very good third at Newcastle 17 days ago.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
