KEEP ON COBBLING outran big odds to fill the runner-up spot at Doncaster last month and should have more to offer. With Sam Twiston-Davies back on board, Henry Daly's mare looks the one to beat. Plus Point finished fifth behind the selection on Town Moor, but improvement is anticipated on only her second start for the Billy Aprahamian yard. La Cantate is another to note.

A chance is taken that improvement in her jumping will enable PLUS POINT to turn the tables on Keep On Cobbling from Doncaster.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

GETAWAYS CHARM gets the vote after finishing third on her hurdling bow at Naas, with the added half-mile likely to bring improvement, as a daughter of Getaway, and with a point-to-point third over 3m to her name. Nastya is an obvious danger with placed efforts in the bank here at Down Royal and at Limerick, while Aisling Rose could be one to watch in a first-time visor if she takes a big step forward for her March 10th.

With improvement likely from her promising maiden hurdle debut at Naas, GETAWAYS CHARM (nap) could score upped in trip.

Likely winner when fell at the last at Listowel last June; runs well fresh, big player.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

Expensive ex-point-to-pointer QUALIMITA might get her turn, having shown consistently useful form this winter. A 30-length winner of a point-to-point before selling for 500,000 euros in April 2023, she has attained Listed-placings at bumper and hurdle level and while defeated in three maidens, Gordon Elliott's mare drops in grade with conditions unlikely to faze her. Russellsbelle was an unlucky final-flight faller when last seen at Listowel last June. She is ideally suited by a sound surface and while she lacks race-fitness, should give the selection a race. Long Gone bounced back from a disappointing Gowran run when running satisfactorily at Limerick earlier this month.

A weak enough maiden and likely a best opportunity yet for QUALIMITA

GROOM DE COTTE made his way through the field before scooting clear by over nine lengths at Huntingdon, shaping as if this rise in distance may bring about even more improvement. The nine-year-old might only need to run to a similar level in order to make it three wins out of his last four starts. Pottlerath finished third in a warmer event at Chepstow and continues to lurk on an appealing mark. Getthepot is also noted.

Course winner MARTALMIX'JAC (nap) is perhaps fortunate to have escaped a nudge up the weights for his close second over 3m in February.

Top-weight MOUNT FRISCO is obviously the best horse in this contest, and if he makes the most of a return to hurdles, he may prove too good for these off a mark 6lb lower than over fences. Bayou Belle is another to consider getting 13lb from the suggestion, with her Sligo third last October one of her better runs, while Mickey Cohen makes his handicap debut for Noel Meade off what may prove a reasonable mark after three unplaced efforts over shorter.

Though a longstanding maiden, BAYOU BELLE has plenty of solid placed efforts to her name and will be suited by this lively ground.

State Man's lightly-raced half-brother SOIR DE GARDE should take all the beating on his hurdling debut here. The selection made a belated career debut last November when bumping into a subsequent Listed bumper winner and again showed nice ability when finishing third at Leopardstown during Christmas. He will be well schooled and has form on yielding ground. Four-time Flat winner San Aer is probably stretched by National Hunt distances but has shown some useful hurdles form. However, he has failed in 12 previous attempts in this sphere and concedes 8lb to the selection. Kasanova's Dream is out of a French Flat and chase winner.

State Man's half-brother SOIR DE GARDE can make a winning start over hurdles in an ordinary maiden

However, it may pay to side with QUITE THE GETAWAY, who pulled out a bit more to finish fifth over 2m6f here. The seven-year-old is fancied to improve for the rise in distance and can get off the mark. Clover Pass isn't out of it either.

He was out of form when we last saw him but R BERNARD is taken to win this race for the second year running.

Brilliant Light was a disappointing favourite when well beaten at Limerick last time, but may be better judged on his third at Listowel prior. Even so, AVANDRA gets the vote. The daughter of Getaway finished fourth over an extended 2m3f at Punchestown in January and could take a step forward for this step up in distance. Tell Nobody Nothin completes the shortlist with the return to the smaller obstacles likely to be in his favour.

A formerly classy Flat sort, BRILLIANT LIGHT should be well at home on this sound surface and can win his second race over hurdles.

FAIRYLAND OPERA has run well in three of four runs this season and contests a winnable maiden, stepping up in distance. A grand-daughter of high-class racemare Opera Hat, she finished second to a subsequent winner at Naas in February, where the third-placed horse won twice afterwards. She again ran well at Navan last month and a reproduction of those runs would give her every chance. Knockaneleigh Girl was well supported in the market when finishing third to a stable companion at Clonmel last month and needs to improve to beat the selection. Keep Kool Coko has place claims.

If staying this longer trip FAIRYLAND OPERA (nap) should be the one to beat back in maiden company

Back to winning ways with a determined success over fences at Sedgefield, JACKPOT CASH should have no issue reverting to the smaller obstacles for in-form connections. The six-year-old is narrowly preferred to Land Girl's Luck, who was a taking winner herself at the same track and could be well treated off a mark of 100 on her handicap debut. Not beaten far over fences at Bangor last time out, Neigh Botha is worth a second look.

Topweight JACKPOT CASH is enjoying a productive spell for his new stable and gets the vote ahead of Neigh Botha.

Kalsman has been competitive since moving into handicap company and has to enter the reckoning on his second run after a break, while Captain Kate is another to keep an eye on.

THE LUCKY LOBSTER is preferred. He has run well on two of his last three starts, he'll enjoy the good ground and this trip will suit

CODE PURPLE has a good course record of three wins and three seconds from six starts. Although not at his best at Newcastle last month, he could be worth another chance back on turf. Shine On Brendan finished last season with wins at Hamilton and Ayr and is entitled to go close on his return to action, leaving Rainwater as a potential improver if he retains the speed needed for the drop back to a mile.

None of these fully convince but maybe SPUN TO GOLD can rediscover some form, dropping in class from handy draw after five months off.

Course bumper winner GRANNYS YARIS is a hopeful pick despite having poor hurdle form. She showed nice ability in bumpers and, at today's course in August 2023, scored by seven lengths from the runner-up, who subsequently achieved a rating of 118. She needs to recapture that old form and wears cheekpieces on handicap debut but has had a break since her last race. Mullanour finished fourth behind an easy winner at Cork last month and bumped into a nicely handicapped winner at Limerick in January, so should be competitive once again. Four-year-old filly Set The Tone may have been unsuited by soft ground on recent runs and had shown ability on good ground last autumn.

On the basis of a good run in a Punchestown maiden, LUCKY LIONESS appeals as being potentially well treated for her first handicap

Winless since a handicap hurdle at Huntingdon last May, Therapist has been kept busy on the all-weather and arrives after a narrow defeat at Southwell. Picture Of You can improve on a disappointing first start for new connections at Hereford in February.

Handicap debutante MAGICAL ANNIE could still have significant potential and is selected to make amends for last month's mishap.

It is difficult to look past the classy PIED PIPER, who only last year was third in the County Hurdle and, previous to that, finished runner-up in the English Cesarewitch. The ground should be ideal on his first go over fences and he gets the vote ahead of Encanto Bruno, who is much better than he showed on his chasing bow at Gowran in October. A stablemate of the selection, Binge Worthy cannot be ruled out either.

Though he has lost his form on the Flat and over hurdles, PIED PIPER should still have enough class to take care of this field.

LTO Selection:hiden content,

Six unraced horses and the Brocklesby 12th to work with here, and a chance is taken on STAR MATERIAL, Adrian Keatley's first juvenile runner of the season. Bred to be speedy as a son of Starman out of an unraced sister to Ardad, the stable's horses are running well enough to suggest he can have a big say. Kevin Ryan won this last year with Barrak and will be hoping for a big run from Pinatubo colt Dickensian who is worth a market watch, leaving Harswell Calling as another to consider, especially with his racecourse experience a possible advantage.

Most of the newcomers have good credentials, particularly DICKENSIAN (narrowly preferred) and Clear Force.

Runner-up in a Listed handicap chase at Navan last month, CHEERFUL CHAP can make the most of this drop in class. A former course winner over hurdles, the Philip Rothwell-trained gelding can register a first success over fences. From a mark which is still 7lb lower than his rating over flights, the son of Pour Moi makes plenty of appeal. The fact that his rider Tiernan Power Roche can claim an additional 5lb off his back makes the eight-year-old of strong interest. As a mare in form, Lilian Bland has to be a serious contender for the Niall Hennessy stable. It would be dangerous to allow her too much of an easy lead around here. Rochestown can complete the placings.

Preference is for JOUSTER who goes well here and is probably capable of better than what he has shown thus far in handicap chases

A high-class performer a few years ago as a juvenile hurdler and novice chaser, ALLMANKIND has found a new lease of life in point-to-points and never had much of a chance at the Cheltenham Festival when hampered at the first. This is a much easier assignment, with Empire De Maulde looking best placed to chase him home following a narrow defeat at Newbury. Bardenstown Lad will enjoy this ground and is expected to have a say in proceedings as well.

His Cheltenham foray did not pan out at all favourably but ALLMANKIND has a big chance today. Empire De Maulde is second choice.

Step Out is another to consider on his first go over this sort of trip.

A chance is taken on JASMIN DE COTTE who will enjoy the return to quicker ground and who shaped well on his only previous run here

Trainer Jim Goldie won this last year with American Affair and is back for more with three runners headed by Eternal Sunshine, the mount of Paul Mulrennan who finished seventh here last time out after missing the break. She can go well, but if Irish raider ONLY SPOOFING is at his best, he could prove hard to beat. Now aged 11, he is race-fit after a third at Bellewstown last time out, and with three wins from four starts here he clearly loves the track. Stash The Cash and Catch Cunningham are others to consider in a fascinating renewal.

This is really competitive but ALLIGATOR ALLEY was formerly rated much higher and shaped well enough on his stable debut.

Navan runner-up ENJOY THE DREAM should be difficult to beat now that she drops back in distance. A former Grade 2 winner over hurdles, the Andrew McNamara-trained mare is undoubtedly well handicapped over fences. Having looked all over a winner before ultimately being outstayed at the County Meath track last time, connections have wisely decided to return to the minimum trip here. The experience she gained in handicap company last time will stand to her back in against novices on this occasion. Recent course and distance winner Be Fierce looks the main threat. The Ted Walsh-trained eight-year-old has the potential to improve on what is only his third run over fences. Media Naranja looks best of the remainder.

The busily-campaigned 5yo maiden IN THE TRENCHES makes plenty of appeal here off bottom weight after his recent Navan second

GETAWAY KING faced an uphill battle in a Grade 3 contest at Navan last month. The seven-year-old will appreciate a considerable ease in class and, with Paddy Hanlon able to claim 7lb this time around, it would come as no surprise were he to show more. There have been more promising signs from School Lane and he is worth considering, along with Made In The Woods, who can put a below-par Limerick display behind him.

MADE IN THE WOODS has at least shown some solid recent form and he looks the safest option now dropping back in grade.

Narrowly denied over C&D on his latest start in November, SPANISH HUSTLE may look like the second string behind the progressive Letsbefrank of the Jim Goldie trio, but he must hold every chance with Kaiya Fraser taking off a valuable 3lb once more. A determined winner on his first start for the James Owen team at Southwell, Sportingsilvermine may have plenty more to come over further off 2lb higher, while It's A Love Thing is another arriving in excellent form, having won two of his last three starts on the all-weather.

Particularly interesting is SPORTINGSILVERMINE (nap), who brings lots of positives. Letsbefrank is second choice.

Course and distance winner PRINCE OF AIR can prove his liking for this venue by adding a second success. A winner on his stable debut at Thurles last November, the gelding was far from disgraced off a 9lb higher mark back at that same track on his next appearance. Dropped 2lb in the interim and with Shane O'Callaghan claiming 5lb, he can essentially race off a 7lb lower mark. Fresh from a winter break, the eight-year-old can take this if fit and ready. Ricky Langford should give the selection most to think about. The Philip Rothwell-trained gelding remains well handicapped in this code relative to his hurdles rating. Point-to-point winner Arthor is another worthy of consideration.

Last year's winner PRINCE OF AIR lacks a recent run but may be able to overcome an absence since December to land this prize again

MARHABA GHAIYYATH continues to go from strength to strength and a mark of 84 on his handicap debut may prove lenient as he looks to bring up the hat-trick with Joe Fanning taking over in the saddle. Gelded since a taking success at Redcar in November, Magellan Cloud could be one to follow over further as a three-year-old, while similar comments may apply to Springbok, who ended last season with a promising fifth at Beverley.

There are others who bring potential but topweight MARHABA GHAIYYATH may well bring the most.

STOCKPYLE ran a race full of promise when finishing second in a first-time tongue-tie (retained) at Doncaster a fortnight ago. A 2lb rise will be no problem for Sam England's gelding and he is taken to go one place better, espeically boasting a fitness edge over some of today's rivals. Vince Le Prince was last seen winning at Catterick in October but does have the ability to go well when fresh, while others to note include Hectic and Rock Melody.

With the form of his last-time win very strong, VINCE LE PRINCE is preferred. Second choice is Stockpyle.

Although below-par in both his runs since returning to action, GWEEDORE has been given a real chance by the handicapper and now back on the grass where he has been most effective previously, it would come as no surprise were he to bounce back. Oriental Prince completed his hat-trick at Southwell recently but remains unexposed on turf. Top weight Ramazan merits plenty of respect, as does Dain Ma Nut In, who returns from a 206-day absence in search of a four-timer.

Back in slightly calmer waters, useful RAMAZAN is taken to defy top weight. Dain Ma Nut In is second choice.
