MANINSANE went up 5lb for his most recent success at Southwell and is fancied to go in again. Charlie Longsdon's charge won over C&D in November and this good ground should really suit. Norley, who won easily over hurdles at Ludlow last Monday, is the main danger going back over fences seemingly full of confidence, while it is also worth considering the consistent Cartonne.

It's probably best not to read too much into NORLEY's rather low-key chase debut here during the autumn, and he is appealing back in this sphere off a lower mark than that off which he scored in good style over hurdles at Ludlow last week. Assuming that Great Heart'jac doesn't go to post (due to run at Market Rasen on Sunday) and with Charles Ritz likely to need a stiffer test, Maninsane is second choice ahead of Cartonne.

The return to fences can pay dividends for NORLEY who comes here in good form over hurdles and has a lower chase mark to exploit.

MOUNT TEMPEST justified strong support when winning with ease on his second start in handicaps at Warwick recently and a double penalty on this switch to novice company may not be enough to stop Dan Skelton's charge from going in again. Clonakilty rates as the only conceivable threat on the ratings and wasn't disgraced when finishing third on his handicap bow at Southwell in January. Manorbank makes most appeal of the remainder.

Hard to see past the promising MOUNT TEMPEST who won a Warwick handicap easily 3 weeks ago and has been found a good opening back in a novice. Clonakilty is the obvious danger dropped in trip.

Mount Tempest will be tough to beat if on song but slight preference is for CLONAKILTY, who has a more consistent record.

Brentford Hope got off the mark at the fourth attempt over hurdles when making his debut for Harry Derham at Wincanton and he boasts solid credentials once again. However, this appears to be a tougher assignment with IMPOSE TOI taking him on and Nicky Henderson's gelding, who was an easy winner at Exeter when last seen, may prove too strong for his rivals. Ve Day made a winning start to life over timber at Musselburgh and is capable of being in the mix.

IMPOSE TOI looked a useful prospect when opening his account for Nicky Henderson at Exeter and this dual ex-French bumper winner can fend off Brentford Hope who also looks to have better days ahead of him judged on his stylish Wincanton success. VE Day also has more to offer and appeals as the pick of the rest for place purposes.

It would be a shock if this did not rest between the last-time-out winners. IMPOSE TOI can beat Brentford Hope and VE Day.

First Dynasty also came good in novice company when last seen and is respected starting out for a new trainer, while Buxted Reel is another to consider.

PAINTERS PALETTE looks another shrewd purchase for his connections following his victory here last month and he could climb the ranks in handicaps. First Dynasty might be the danger starting out for a new yard himself on the back of victory at Chelmsford in January.

Preference is for PAINTERS PALETTE, who made a successful stable/AW debut here four weeks ago and may have even more to offer.

THEME PARK only found a subsequent Group 3 winner/Breeders' Cup second too good on debut and he confirmed that promise when getting off the mark on his second start. The son of Lope De Vega was subsequently sold for 200,000gns and merits the utmost respect on his debut for new connections. Freedom Day showed potential on both starts last year and he should not be underestimated. Others to note are Mahanakhon and Old Smoke.

THEME PARK signed off for Sir Michael Stoute with an odds-on Kempton success and is fancied to make a winning start for his new yard at the chief expense of Freedom Day and Old Smoke who both have the form to play a part and can chase home Nigel Tinkler's promising new recruit in that order.

With the step up to a mile sure to suit, the race-fit OLD SMOKE is taken to get off the mark by beating the promising Freedom Day.

This looks a good opportunity for SIR ARGUS, with Kieran Callaghan taking a valuable 7lb off. A consistent sort, he was let down by some sloppy jumping on his penultimate start at Punchestown, finishing second to stable companion Haxo. He again filled the runner-up spot on his most recent outing at Thurles, with subsequent winners So Des Flos and Karuma Grey in behind. Misty's Gift was fourth in that Thurles contest and he reopposes now. Patricks Hill has some solid form to his name and is given second preference. Placed four times from eight starts, he finished second of 20 behind the smart Cool Survivor when last seen at Punchestown in October. Fantasio D'alene disappointed on his return to action at Limerick last month but is capable of much more and it'll be interesting to see how he fares. Japers Jack, Easy Fella and Mister Bo are others for the shortlist.

SIR ARGUS is proving expensive to follow but this looks a good opportunity for him to open his account in this sphere. Misty's Gift rates the main threat ahead of Mister Bo.

Sir Argus has an edge on Misty's Gift on Thurles running and should confirm that form, but preference is for JAPERS JACK (nap)

The son of Le Havre sets the standard in these calmer waters and he might not get many better opportunities to shed his maiden tag. Highland Frolic looks best equipped to chase him home if he's turned out quickly following his Plumpton second on Sunday, while Overstate will need to take a step forward on what he's shown so far.

This looks a very good opening for HAVAILA who should get off the mark if in anything like the same form as when placed in a strong Ascot handicap last weekend.

LAGONDA was far from disgraced when weakening late on to finish fifth in a hot handicap at Newbury last month and she may take advantage of her 7lb allowance in this maiden hurdle. Great Name That has posted some creditable efforts in defeat in similar contests of late and Harry Fry's gelding is likely to be in the mix once more, while State Of Fame should appreciate this stiffer test and is another to note.

LAGONDA has displayed improved form in handicaps in recent weeks, and in receipt of weight all round back in maiden company, she looks the one to beat. A tongue tie may help State of Power but he still has a lot to prove, so Great Name That is feared most.

This could be a good opportunity for LAGONDA, who ran well in a competitive mares' handicap at Newbury last month.

FIGAROC showed marked improvement to win at Clonmel early last month and there looks more to come from the Masterstroke gelding. The eight-year-old has obviously had his issues having only made his first start for Willie Mullins in January, when pulled up at Tramore. He had been runner-up on his sole outing over hurdles in his native France back in May 2019. With a couple of runs under his belt he was a different proposition at Clonmel last time and that form has worked out well since with several subsequent winners in behind. Scenic Look ran on well to grab second in a hot little mares contest at Limerick last time and could be a contender now back in handicap company. Black Hawk Eagle made a winning return on the level at Navan 12 days ago and he looks like another for the shortlist.

An ultra-competitive opener. REALISM looks to have been brought along over hurdles with handicaps in mind and his mark is lenient based on his Flat ability so he's the suggestion, with confidence in his chance increased should the betting vibes be strong. Razdan and Black Hawk Eagle are both respected on the back of recent Flat wins, while Figaroc and Gentleman Joe are likely improvers now handicapping for top stables.

The 10-year-old is worth another try over this distance and gets the vote at the main expense of Lord Sparky, who scored at Fakenham on his penultimate start. Dan's Chosen was a faller on his latest effort at Taunton, but he is more than capable of bouncing back.

LORD SPARKY arrives at the top of his game and can quickly resume winning ways and record a fourth C&D win. Luckofthedraw is another who has a good record here and is feared most back up in trip.

The solid option is course specialist LORD SPARKY (nap) who ran up against an improved one at Southwell last time out.

Hurt You Never and Kraken Florida both merit respect having won classified events on the all-weather recently, but marginal preference is for TWO SUMMERS. The daughter of Acclamation won her final start in 2022 at Catterick in October and she should remain competitive off a 3lb higher mark here. Bonito Cavalo and Slainte Mhath are others who are capable of making the frame.

BONITO CAVALO should have races of this nature in him in 2023 and gets the nod to make a successful return to action for the Jim Goldie/Paul Mulrennan combination. Two Summers ploughed through the mud to win at Catterick last autumn and is feared most ahead of Kraken Florida and Hurt You Never, who both arrive on the back of good AW runs.

These conditions are ideal for SLAINTE MHATH who is taken to win for the third time on turf. Hurt You Never looks her main danger.

Staying in novice company could be a good move for OLD HARROVIAN, who impressed with a four-length success in a similar race last week and he looks the one to side with today, despite carrying a 7lb penalty. Wild Hurricane is a half-brother to five winners and can be expected to be wiser now he's been given time to mature since debut over C&D last November. The Godolphin-owned gelding looks the main threat ahead of Active Duty, who is highly respected now he reverts to the Flat.

OLD HARROVIAN looked a good prospect when winning impressively on his comeback last week and can defy a penalty before having his sights raised. Godolphin has kept the faith with 5-y-o Wild Hurricane after a promising debut here in November and he's the obvious threat.

The choice is OLD HARROVIAN who was visually impressive when beating an odds-on rival at Lingfield a week ago. He can defy the penalty.

Archie Watson has enjoyed a fruitful start to the new season, and ACTION POINT could provide the Lambourn-handler with another winner. He's related to some smart sprinters and, given his trainer's excellent record with juveniles on the all-weather, he could strike at the first time of asking. It will be interesting to see how Spanish Phoenix fares on debut given his pedigree, while Anfaal is another to consider.

All bar one of these are newcomers, and the market should tell a tale, but DAPPERLING, a £45,000 daughter of Dandy Man, appeals as much as any for Richard Hannon. Archie Watson's Action Point and Andrew Balding's Spanish Phoenix are a couple of other likely sorts.

The betting should provide clues but as things stand ANFAAL is tentatively preferred to Action Point.

He sets the standard on the official ratings and may be able to put his previous experience to good use. Honneur De Sivola is entitled to be wiser after his debut under Rules at Market Rasen last month, while Bar Thyme is a half-brother to a couple of winners over timber and is worth noting in the betting.

Not a strong maiden and COPSHILL LAD is worth another chance with his sights lowered. Cape Vidal, another bumper winner, isn't overfaced for his hurdles debut and could be a big player.

This is a modest maiden and a chance is taken that CAPE VIDAL can recapture his initial bumper form now sent over hurdles.

Kieran Callaghan enjoyed one of his finest hours at this venue in November when partnering Captain Kangaroo to victory in the Cork National. The promising young conditional has again been among the winners in recent times and his 7lb allowance is certainly no hinderance to the prospects of THE BIG CHAP. Paul Flynn's charge hasn't been out since August, and whilst that might be viewed as a negative, it could be that the relatively unexposed six-year-old will return a horse capable of climbing the ladder at least a little more. He might be a chaser down the road, but from a rating of 107 here, one could envisage his prominent racing style carrying him a long way on the road towards a top billing. From a handicapping perspective Stealthy Tom must be taken very seriously, while The Toothpicker is another interesting contender on debut for John McConnell. Last time out winners Bal De Rio and Crowsatedappletart will justifiably have their supporters in this competitive heat.

STEALTHY TOM is on a good mark back over hurdles judged on his recent form over fences and is fancied to take advantage. Crowsatedappletart won in good style at Limerick 11 days ago and is next best ahead of Light Parade and The Big Chap.

Crowsatedappletart will be difficult to keep at bay but the handicap debutant JOHNNY CIGAR could be a little bit ahead of his mark

Sir Apollo hit the woodwork over 3m3f at Sedgefield last month and, though he merits the utmost respect, a drop in trip might not play to his strengths. Sopran Thor has the ability to play a leading role, but he will need to jump with more fluency than he has on previous starts. ENDURING LOVE was a disappointing favourite at Huntingdon 26 days ago, but Daire Davis' 7lb claim makes him of considerable interest.

It's hard not to have misgivings about all four of these. In the case of SOPRAN THOR it's his haphazard jumping that is the primary source of concern but he is still the most likely winner. Fancy Foundations arguably has the most to prove and Sir Apollo edges preference ahead of Enduring Love for forecast purposes.

The vote goes to SOPRAN THOR, who looks interesting on his Huntingdon win last spring and represents and a yard in scintillating form.

The majority of these arrive with questions to answer and it could pay to stick with the in-form STORMY FLIGHT. Jeremy Scott's nine-year-old lost little in defeat when runner-up behind a progressive rival at Wincanton last month and a 2lb rise looks more than fair. Ask Me Early may have had his confidence restored by a recent spin over hurdles at Uttoxeter and is feared most ahead of Nestor Park, who should find this less competitive than the Classic Chase at Warwick.

STORMY FLIGHT is thriving at present and probably would have won at Wincanton last time had he jumped the last 2 better. He can quickly resume winning ways at the main expense of Ballinsker and Nestor Park.

The one with least to prove is STORMY FLIGHT, who has been in good form this year. Ask Me Early is feared most.

BLOOD DESTINY disappointed in the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham but looks worth another chance here down in grade. The No Risk At All gelding got caught up in a strong gallop up front then and weakened tamely at the business end. It's noteworthy to see him tried in a hood and tongue-tie now. He had been very impressive in two wins previously and on that form he'd be hard to beat. Mullins also runs Gust Of Wind, who is entitled to be a big player here. The Great Pretender gelding emerged with plenty of credit when fourth to stablemate Lossiemouth in the Triumph last month and is the form horse on that performance. Cougar is another who ran below par last time, at Leopardstown over Christmas, but has been given plenty of time since then and should be capable of a lot better. He is also fitted with a hood now having run keenly last time.

Willie Mullins looks to hold all the aces here and his BLOOD DESTINY is fancied to bounce back from his disappointing showing in the Triumph Hurdle when too free with the hood crucially now going on for the first time. Stablemates Gust of Wind and Tekao look much the biggest threats on form and can follow him home in that order.

Another chance is given to BLOOD DESTINY, who hadn't put a foot wrong before the wheels came off during the Triumph.

EYED attracted significant market support when winning over the extended 2m3f here last month and a subsequent 6lb rise in the handicap might not be enough to stop Paul Webber's charge from repeating the dose. Halligator ran well under a penalty at Wetherby 35 days ago and must be respected on his handicap bow, while Titanium Bullet, who took a marked step forward on what he'd shown so far when filling the runner-up spot over C&D in February, is another to consider.

SWAPPED has got in very lightly for his handicap debut on the back of an eye-catching Plumpton sixth so Nicky Henderson's low-mileage 6-y-o looks the way to go. The progressive Titanium Bullet came in a good C&D second last time and is feared most, with handicap-debutant Halligator hugely repected too.

There is a good chance that HALLIGATOR will find sufficient improvement now that he is stepped up from 2m for this handicap debut.

Zegos Surprise has hit the crossbar twice in classified events in recent months and could make the frame once again, while Hard Solution and Rainbow Rain also merit places on the shortlist.

ZEGOS SURPRISE arrives in form from AW and has been successful in the mud before so she's preferred to Declan Carroll's Ireland's Eye, who ran well in this race last year. The Ruth Carr team is among the winners so Hard Solution also makes the shortlist.

A chance is taken on RAJMEISTER who is well drawn and is very well handicapped on old form. Zegos Surprise should also go well.

This is also his first try in a seller, which could cause problems for the selection if Rocket Action manages to run anywhere near his official rating of 82, while previous C&D winner The Daley Express is dangerous to dismiss on these terms.

A bad seller that can go to DOCTOR MOZART who is holding his form well at a low level, winning a Southwell handicap on Tuesday from one who went close again at Bath on Friday. Rocket Action, a 109-rated C&D winner at his peak, might be the danger if stripping fitter for his Newcastle return.

Preference is for the uncomplicated DOCTOR MOZART, who comes into this in good heart and may enjoy the run of the race in front.

A handful of promising three-year-olds head to post in what looks an open contest, with marginal preference for RUNNING LION. She made her debut in a warm Newmarket maiden last July, before going on to notch up a brace of wins on the all-weather at Lingfield and Chelmsford. She sets the standard with an opening mark of 96 and her superior experience could prove key. Dancing Goddess is the choice of champion jockey William Buick and she could pose the most serious challenge ahead of stablemate Rainbow Sky.

All of these 3-y-o fillies are open to improvement but RUNNING LION was mightily impressive on both outings on the all-weather last year, so John & Thady Gosden's charge is fancied to pick up from where she left off and complete the hat-trick. Charlie Appleby sends out a couple of once-raced course winners in Dancing Goddess and Rainbow Sky and they can chase home the selection in that order.

An interesting race in which RAINBOW SKY can get the better of her equally promising stablemate Dancing Goddess.

Glajou is also considered given that a recent outing should have blown the cobwebs away.

NOAHTHIRTYTWORED has continued his progress over fences and his opening mark in this sphere could well underestimate him. A few of these had legitimate excuses last time so could well bounce back, including Iconic Muddle and Rose Sea Has.

FRANCOIS looks nicely treated on a mark of 112 and he might be able to take this open contest. He has yet to make a significant impact over fences but performed with credit on his penultimate start, finishing third to Saldier at Thurles. He was since well beaten on his handicap debut at Leopardstown but should come on plenty for that experience. Minx Tiara is given second preference, with Daniel King taking a valuable 5lb off. The likeable five-time winner was headed close home in a Grade B contest at Gowran on her last start and it'll come as no surprise if she goes a place better now. Take All also hit the crossbar recently and he is sure to have plenty of supporters, while All Those Years and Johngus are other leading contenders. The latter was a wide-margin winner at Clonmel last month and will carry a featherweight here, with Kieran Callaghan claiming 7lb.

ALL THOSE YEARS has low mileage for a horse of his age and he took well to fences when making a winning chase debut in a Limerick maiden last month. With improvement likely now pitched into a handicap in this sphere, he looks the way to go. Johngus got the job done at the twelfth attempt over fences at Clonmel but he comes with risks given his error-prone jumping and bigger threats may be posed by Take All and Minx Tiara.

EAST END GIRL got right back on track under this 10 lb conditional when second at Market Rasen 3 weeks ago and from the same mark she looks the answer. Sawpit Sienna and Luna Dora head the opposition.

6yo LUNA DORA was runner-up at Uttoxeter in her final two runs in the autumn and is a big player if she can pick up where she left off.

Angels Breath struggled in a Grade 2 on his return to action at Kempton in January but it is far too soon to be writing him off, while Earth Company is the pick of the remainder.

ECLAIR D'AINAY quickly reverts to fences after completing a simple task over hurdles and this smart C&D winner is taken to edge out the consistent Friend Or Foe who might have to settle for a place once more. Lightly-raced Angels Breath is weighted to have a say if getting back on track so can't be dismissed either.

C&D winner ECLAIR D'AINAY scored over hurdles last month and is 4lb lower than when placed over fences in December.

CADATHARLA ran really well in defeat last time and can strike again now. He went down by half a length to L'yser over slightly shorter here in late February and the front two pulled well clear of the field that day in a competitive contest. Despite a 5lb rise for that effort the progressive Flemensfirth gelding could still be nicely treated. Heia hasn't been seen since finishing a fine fifth in the Galway Hurdle last summer but she commands plenty of respect on her return with fitness unlikely to be an issue. Ottoman Style comes here on a hat-trick and has to be on the shortlist. The Kayf Tara gelding won a competitive contest at Down Royal last time when the front pair pulled nicely clear.

Lots with chances but CADATHARLA posted an excellent second here last time and looks weighted to go one better so gets the verdict. Unanswered is another weighted to have a say and is next on the list, although a solid case can also be made for Ailie Rose, A Great View and Waittillitellyou in a highly competitive handicap.

There's probably still plenty more to come from Unanswered and Ottoman Style is on a roll but CADATHARLA is preferred

Tenfold proved far too strong for the opposition when bolting up over C&D last month and he makes obvious appeal on the back of that success, but preference is for PATIENT DREAM. The penny would appear to have dropped for him recently, winning back-to-back starts under William Maggs, and he might have what it takes to deal with a further 6lb rise in the handicap. Gilbertina heads the remainder.

With improvement on the cards now pitched into a handicap off a reasonable opening mark, PLAYTOGETAWAY could be the answer to a tight-looking race. It wasn't a bad novice in which he was an encouraging fourth at Haydock in December and he wasn't knocked about at Doncaster subsequently. Tenfold, the hat-trick seeking Patient Dream and Gilbertina all merit respect but Coolnaugh Haze, who landed this race off a 1 lb lower mark last season, is feared most.

Topweight TENFOLD should have more to offer after a recent C&D win. Last year's winner Coolnaugh Haze is next best.

PARAMARIBO is fit from hurdling and can take advantage of the drop in class on his return to the Flat. Zephlyn and Freewheelin both posted good placed efforts last time and they head the dangers.

Preference is for PARAMARIBO (nap), seriously involved in one 1m4f handicap last April and could be helped by today's trip and aids.

ODIN OWNS YOU ALL showed improved form when opening his account in emphatiic fashion at Southwell last time, scoring with plenty in hand, and he can follow up on his handicap debut. Mrs U S A could be the one to give the selection most to think about, ahead of Roman Spring.

SLIPOFTHEPEN could hardly have been more impressive when winning over C&D on his racecourse debut, and the Night Of Thunder colt is fancied to follow up with improvement on the cards. Royal Rhyme left it late to get up over 7f at Thirsk 210 days ago and it would be no surprise were he to progress upped in trip, while any market support for the John Butler-trained Azeezan ahead of his first start should be noted.

It was hard not be taken with how SLIPOFTHEPEN routed his opposition over C&D back in November and with John & Thady Gosden's charge destined for much better things (holds plenty of fancy entries, including in The Derby), he's strongly fancied to make it 2-2. Royal Rhyme made a winning start at Thirsk in September, so he's put forward as the main threat on the back of a breathing operation, with Legend of Leros next on the list.

Legend Of Leros should be winning useful races this year but SLIPOFTHEPEN looked a smart operator here on his 2yo debut.

OHNODONTTAKEMEHOME seemed to gradually get the hang of hurdling in his qualifying runs and has a lenient mark based on bumper ability so he's the suggestion. Big Jimbo arrives in form from AW Flat and rates an obvious danger back hurdling for the Gary Moore team. Hunting Brook is another who could take a step forward now handicapping for the first time in this sphere and also makes the shortlist.

All of these come with risks. EZ TIGER remains a maiden but he does move well in his races and might be worth chancing.

Jack Bennett's home-bred DANCING AFTER DARK has decent prospects of supplementing her Liscarroll success from just over three weeks back. The substance of that win can hardly be underestimated as she slammed the geldings Desert Cave, Imperial Eddie and Top Question by huge margins, as just the four completed the course in a winners of one. A daughter of Mountain High, the selection hasn't had an entirely smooth run through her career thus far, not coming up to expectations more than once. However, on a going day she's clearly a decent performer, and as a seven-year-old with few enough miles on the clock there's certainly the capacity for more to come. Dancing After Dark's rider, Mikey O'Connor, was aboard The Dollarlady when that one triumphed last time, and she's worthy of consideration this time too, now in the more than capable hands of Finny Maguire. Ma Hoey is likely to have plenty of supporters after her comfortable win at Durrow last month, while Glenbeg Express, Lar's Lass and Carrig Wells are others for the shortlist.

DANCING AFTER DARK won a point by a wide margin recently and could be the answer to this tricky hunter chase. Carrig Wells is a danger having finished runner-up at Thurles last month and Lar's Lass is worth considering under an experienced rider.

Made For You and Daire Davis teamed up to good effect when they won a conditional riders' handicap at Musselburgh in December and he looks the chief danger. Swaffham Bulbeck competes the shortlist.

SWAFFHAM BULBECK deserves a change of luck and with this step back up in trip sure to suit he can get off the mark for the season. Thirtyfourstitches is the chief threat on the back of an excellent runner-up effort, with Made For You also considered.

Preference is for THIRTYFOURSTITCHES, who is 9-24 over hurdles and bounced back with a good second in a Class 3 event last time.

GWENNIE MAY BOY was better than the result at Sandown last time and might be worth siding with as his mark is starting to look workable based on his novice form in the autumn. Ingennio, Bertie Wooster and Drash On Ruby arrive on the back of solid efforts in similar company last time, while High Game Royal is one who could have more to offer now switching to handicap company over a longer trip.

This might go to BERTIE WOOSTER, who went down fighting on last month's handicap debut and remains very lightly raced.

FIL DOR has to give weight to all his rivals but is fancied to come out on top. The Doctor Dino gelding failed to fire in the Coral Cup over in Cheltenham but had been a Grade 3 winner prior to that at Gowran in the Red Mills Hurdle. If he can recapture that form he's the one to beat. Asterion Forlonge made a belated return at Thurles last month but had to settle for the runner-up spot behind Summerville Boy having gone off a short enough price. He didn't run up to his mark of 150 then and although he's entitled to improve a bit he needs to step forward now. It's good to see his stablemate Monkfish back in action and it's encouraging that Paul Townend chooses to ride him. He has been on the sidelines for a long time though and a watching brief may be the most sensible approach with him.

If ASTERION FORLONGES comes on as expected for his recent Thurles reappearance then he could take a bit of stopping. Fil Dor wasn't himself at Cheltenham but will be a big threat if back to his Red Mills form.

In common with two of these, BEACON EDGE bombed out in the Coral Cup but he's useful on his day and might be up to the task

BRANDISOVA and Legendary Rhythm both arrive here in top form and are probably the pair to concentrate on, for all that an on-song Catlin wouldn't be without a chance. Legendary Rhythm is the more experienced of the two in this sphere and is not passed over lightly but Brandisova got the better of an in-form rival when making a winning chase debut at Fakenham and she is preferred.

Legendary Day has to prove she can stay this far and preference is for BRANDISOVA who beat in-form rivals at Fakenham last time.

He's won following a similar break in the past and is now 4lb below his last winning mark if the return to turf can help him rediscover some spark. Others to note include Wobwobwob and The Cookstown Cafu.

GORAK elevated his form to a new level when turning a Doncaster handicap into a one-sided affair a week ago and with race fitness on his side, he makes plenty of appeal under a 5 lb penalty. Fame And Acclaim and Darkness contested deeper handicaps than this on the whole last term and are a couple of threats.

Gorak has good claims but this will take more winning than at Doncaster and DARKNESS gets the vote on ground that will suit.

With that in mind, Eye Of The Water may pose the bigger threat now returned to the C&D of his last success in January.

On only her third start for her current connections, SWEET MIST looked better than ever when scoring at this C&D 5 days ago and she could still have more to offer for her in-form yard. The 4-y-o can get the better of fellow last-time-out winner Triggered, while Dandys Derriere is also considered on his stable debut.

This can go to SWEET MIST, who is just 1lb higher than when winning an apprentice handicap under Connor Planas over C&D last week.

Capital Theory and Prydwen both have career-high marks to overcome, but they can't be dismissed.

This looks very open but PRIDE OF PRIORY's AW record is an excellent one and with fitness no concern given the yard he represents, he looks the way to go. Simply Sondheim, Capital Theory and Max Mayhem are just a trio of potential threats.

Flic Ou Voyou just held on at Wincanton on his latest outing and is likely to enter calculations along with War Lord, who should find this easier than the Plate at Cheltenham Festival.

It could be worth chancing CAPTAIN TOM CAT, a Grade 2 winner last term who lurks on a very good mark and who will appreciate these sounder conditions for a stable that has really turned the corner after a poor spell. Black Gerry bounced back to form with a bang at Ascot last weekend and is sure to be popular for Gary Moore. War Lord is back down in class having run at the Cheltenham Festival and is a big threat.

A chance is taken on CAPTAIN TOM CAT, who is capable of rediscovering his form now back on good ground and with his stable going well.

A son of Scorpion, the selection since ran a fine race on his track debut at Downpatrick last weekend. He finished second to Shantou Show there and he should be able to go a place better now, in what looks a weaker contest. Dundaniel is the only dual winner in the line-up. He came home eight-lengths to the good at Bandon on his most recent start and looks a leading contender here. Boss Robin impressed on debut at Comea, but disappointed at Nenagh when turned out again quickly. Given a break since, he should be able to make an impact. Iron Allen is another worthy of consideration. A half-brother to Enjoy Dallen, he was successful at Corbeagh House in December, falling at the first on his most recent outing.

AHAKNOWYERSELF required 10 goes to get off the mark between the flags but he made a promising start under Rules when second at Downpatrick and a repeat of that may enable him to go one place better. Boss Robin and Dundaniel look the chief threats.

DUNDANIEL comes here in better shape than most, winning a Bandon 'Winners Of One' by 8l's on his most recent start, and can go in again

SAINTE DOCTOR and Ballybeen are likely to emerge as the chief protagonists, with marginal preference for the fomer who is well handicapped based on her exploits over hurdles and she left her previous efforts in this sphere well behind when second at Doncaster last time. Ballybeen hasn't done much wrong in his two starts since switched to fences and will surely pick up a race before long. If one of the others is likely to take a hand in the finish, it will probably be Judex Lefou.

The nine-year-old bids for a hat-trick in this race and has been kept fresh for this again having last been seen in October. He was in fine form back in the autumn and looks the one to beat again on his return. French Dynamite ran a fine race to finish fourth in the Ryanair Chase at Cheltenham last month and he looks a danger getting a few pounds from the selection. Janidil didn't have a great passage around in the Ryanair, eventually finishing seventh. He had been good when winning the Red Mills Chase prior to that and is a big player in this grade again.

EASY GAME looked better than ever in the autumn and can land this race for the third year in succession. Ryanair fourth French Dynamite is taken to edge out Janidil for the forecast spot.

Going for three in a row in this, Easy Game is sure to be popular but a peak form JANIDIL would beat him.

It might be worth siding with easy point winner ROCK HOUSE, who is an interesting contender now switched to rules for Dan Skelton.

Life Of Dreams posted some creditable efforts in defeat last season, but she may find this drop in trip to 1m on the sharp side, so a bigger threat may emerge from Sound Angela, who remains unbeaten on the all-weather.

It's hard to look beyond LAUREL, who was impressive when winning novice events on her first 2 starts before going close in the Sun Chariot at Newmarket during the autumn. She possesses the potential to develop into a top filly this season and should have little trouble dispatching with these rivals. Sound Angela and Life of Dreams can fill the places.

It would be disappointing if LAUREL cannot win this and win it well. Sound Angela can prove best of the rest.

FLEMEN'S TIPPLE produced his best effort to date when runner-up over C&D last month and this appears to be an excellent chance for him to go one better, especially with the handicapper not changing his mark. One For The Wall also finished second here when last seen in February and the seven-year-old is expected to uphold that form against the fourth, Hilltown, who may have more to offer on his second start over this distance.

ONE FOR THE WALL was firmly back on track when second over C&D 6 weeks ago and looks the obvious choice. Dear Ralphy is an interesting rival with the longer trip sure to suit on his handicap debut. Hilltown is another to note.

A chance is taken on DEAR RALPHY. His best form has come in bumpers but this longer trip could make a difference to him.

ULTIMATE OPTIMIST is a particularly exciting hunter chaser among an excellent crop that David Christie has. The seven-year-old Fame And Glory gelding has been on a winning spree since May last year incorporating three point-to-points and two hunters' chases (by healthy margins). He is very hard to oppose in the current mood. Somptueux was a 137-rated chaser this time last year. He is entitled to come on from his runner-up berth in a Lisronagh point-to-point in February and gets first-time cheekpieces. Grange Island brings solid form to the contest, but found another Christie inmate much too hot in Gowran Park.

ULTIMATE OPTIMIST is firmly one to be positive about in hunters and can make it 3-3 in this sphere. Somptueux and Russian Diamond are interesting alternatives.

Held in high regard, ULTIMATE OPTIMIST has turned into a real winning machine and he can continue the trend here

Janika would hold outstanding claims if back to the form which saw him finish a respectable fourth in a handicap at Ascot in November, but he does have something to prove having since put in a below-par effort at Kempton in December and in a point-to-point in February. With that in mind, FIRAK is the safe play. The eight-year-old romped home at Warwick recently and is evidently on good terms with himself. Twilight Girl is another to note.

FIRAK made a successful return to Rules 11 days ago and if the race doesn't come too soon he should be hard to beat once more. Janika and Rebel Dawn Rising look the main dangers.

The lightly raced 8yo FIRAK was an easy winner of a point and a hunter chase last month and is a big player again in his hat-trick bid.

ISAAC DES OBEAUX appeared to find conditions on the tough side when third here on Welsh National day and the return to a sounder surface, which had seen him make a winning debut at this track the month before, could see him take a step in the right direction. Yes Day sold for 80,000 pounds at the Cheltenham sale in December, having won his sole point outing in Ireland, and makes considerable appeal on his Rules debut, while Vincenzo is likely to prove better than his first run at Bangor.

ISAAC DES OBEAUX sets the standard and should be able to gain a second win in quite a thin race. His stablemate Don't Tell Su is a danger and Law of Supply looks an interesting recruit from points.

The most interesting one is arguably Irish point winner LAW OF SUPPLY, who has the right type of pedigree for bumpers.

STUMPTOWN is a stout stayer who races off a lovely light weight in this valuable showpiece. He wasn't stopping at the end of 3m2f in the Kim Muir at the Cheltenham Festival when held in second by a neck. Prior to that, he was a decisive winner of staying chases in Thurles and Sandown. Thedevilscoachman brings a touch of class to proceedings. He has landed three of his six chases including at Grade 3 level in his last couple of starts in Naas and Limerick. He is up in trip by about half a mile, but would be particularly dangerous if getting into a good rhythm with his jumping. Chemical Energy was caught over an extended 3m5f in the National Hunt Chase at Cheltenham. There was still a lot of credit in his runner-up finish and he is a solid contender. Angels Dawn would welcome plenty of rain. She was the horse that beat Stumptown by a neck at Cheltenham and there's an awful lot to like about her recent exploits. She is well up for a battle at the business end. Defi Bleu and Champagne Platinum could go better than their odds suggest. Amirite is inexperienced, but has talent.

The novices usually hold their own in Ireland's premier handicap chase and AMIRITE is a very interesting contender for Henry de Bromhead. He looked one to follow when making a winning start here in October and hasn't had much luck since. This sort of trip should suit him well on his handicap debut and a big run could be on the cards. Kim Muir 1-2 Angels Dawn and Stumptown, National Hunt Chase-second Chemical Energy, The Goffer, and Now Where Or When are among the other key players.

Thedevilscoachman is a worthy favourite but AMIRITE (nap) promises to be well served by the demands of this race.

EDMUND IRONSIDE was consistent in nurseries at the back end of last season, with his final effort seeing him finish second over C&D, and his pedigree suggests he could have more to offer going forward. Camacho Star has the benefit of a recent run under his belt following a second-placed finish at Newcastle last month, while any market support for Concorde would make him of interest.

EDMUND IRONSIDE rates the pick of these weights so is taken to go one better than when an excellent C&D second last time out and open his account. Camacho Star is feared most on the back of his good Newcastle second, with handicap-debutants Concorde and Roaring Ralph two more to consider in an open-looking handicap.

Roaring Ralph and Concorde are handicap debutants of note but EDMUND IRONSIDE should relish the conditions.

El Hombre is respected based on his recent success at Lingfield, while Murbih and Newyorkstateofmind are both capable of returning to form after disappointing on their latest efforts.

GISELLES IZZY produced a career best when only narrowly denied at Southwell in February and she can build on that effort to go one better this time around. El Hombre recorded his second win of the year last time and could be the main danger, with Mellys Flyer completing the shortlist.

A chance is taken with WESTMORIAN who wasn't beaten far in a better race last time and doesn't have many miles on the clock.

He's only 3lb higher than his last success and could be a safer option than Excel Power, who ran too bad to be true at Newcastle when last seen in January but would have strong claims if back on song. Sir Dancealot continues to slide down the ratings and is beginning to look feasibly treated again.

A tricky contest to unravel despite the small field but with AL MARMAR's latest effort easy to excuse, Andrew Balding's 4-y-o gets the tentative nod to notch a third career victory. Excel Power disappointed on the straight track at Newcastle earlier in the year but he may emerge as the main threat going back round a bend given his run-style, with Austrian Theory completing the shortlist.

The 4yos Austrian Theory and AL MARMAR may be the pair to focus on and Andrew Balding's runner is marginally preferred.

With that in mind, it may pay to take a chance on DELGANY MONARCH, who arrives in good heart and found only a progressive rival too good over C&D last month. Who Is That and My Bad Lucy also warrant consideration.

MY BAD LUCY wasn't disgraced in a better race than this at Doncaster last time and can quickly resume winning ways back down in class. Delgany Monarch is next best ahead of River Tyne.

River Tyne and My Bad Lucy give Nick Gifford a strong hand but DELGANY MONARCH may scupper them both.

He won a point-to-point by 13 lengths in December for John Costello and subsequent winners 'between the flags' have come out of that race. He is a brother of a four-time winner. Marv Michael was also successful in a point-to-point and commences his track career for Henry de Bromhead. He is a danger. The trainer has a strong hand as he also saddles point-to-point runner-up Doonbeg Don. Eugene O'Sullivan's Beltown Lake rallied to justify favouritism in a point-to-point in February and has his chance.

WHAT'S UP DARLING clearly impressed when a ready winner of his point given powerful connections went to £280,000 to acquire him and he rates the percentage call on Rules. The Henry de Bromhead-trained pair Doonbeg Don and Marv Michael also make plenty of appeal on paper.

HIGH TREASON shaped with a fair amount of promise when runner-up on his first attempt at Ffos Las and the four-year-old is expected to step forward from that performance, especially at a track with an emphasis on stamina. Divilskin returns from a wind operation due to him making a noise on his debut for Paul Nicholls when fourth at Southwell in November. It wouldn't be a surprise if he left that effort behind, while Doncaster winner Inoui Machin and Pic Roc complete the shortlist.

HIGH TREASON is out of a bumper winner and showed enough when second at Ffos Las to think he can go one better this time. Point winner Divilskin can't be dismissed despite an uninspiring Rules debut and Pic Roc is likely to be on the premises.

Winning Irish pointer DIVILSKIN was a warm order for his bumper debut but made a respiratory noise and has had wind surgery since.

GATEAU DE MIEL won a beginners' chase by 12 lengths over a similar trip at this track in November. He disappointed on his next outing at Leopardstown, but that was also the case when he ran in a bumper there on his track debut. He is worth another chance back at this venue. The Dabbler was scratched from the Randox Ulster National at Downpatrick this month due to transport difficulties. He is capable of getting involved as he has a fourth place in a good handicap chase at Galway in his locker. Pont Aval hasn't been getting the job done over shorter trips since returning this year off a lengthy absence, so you can see why a step up in distance is tried. Happy Dreams and Sir Bob are others eyeing a cheque.

SIR BOB gets the nod on the assumption that Gain de Cause won't be going to post following his decisive breakthrough success over fences here on Saturday. The selection was toppled when bidding for the hat-trick at Navan but that was still a solid effort. Gateau de Miel failed to land a blow at Leopardstown when last seen in December but was impressive over this C&D previously and he remains of interest. Macs Charm and Pont Aval both make some each-way appeal.

An open race but MACS CHARM is an interesting handicap debutant after running well behind a smart horse in his final qualifying run.

Second at Thirsk on Tuesday, he clearly showed improvement from last season and the return to 6f is unlikely to be an inconvenience. Bridge Water and Smooth Red complete the shortlist.

CHEYENNE NATION made a promising return when a strong-finishing second at Thirsk and looks the way to go here off the same mark with this longer trip also a plus. Ruth Carr has her string in good nick and her returning Dresden Green is feared most ahead of handily-weighted Smile And Pay.

This looks good for CHEYENNE NATION who only found one too good on his Thirsk return in soft ground six days ago.

Ingra Tor has been running well in defeat, while Fernando Rah can improve for a promising seasonal debut in February.

The vote goes to PROP FORWARD, who lost little caste in defeat when third off this mark in a similarly competitive C&D handicap last August. He didn't enjoy the best of runs that day and should go close granted better luck this time. Stablemate Fernando Rah is in with an each-way shout but bigger threats may be posed by Silver Samurai and Blackrod.

Prop Forward still has unfinished business but DUBAI STATION is still handicapped to win if the cards fall right.

HIGHWAY ONE O FIVE made an encouraging start to his racing career when weakening late on into third in a bumper at Kempton in February and, with the runner-up subsequently bolting up at Wetherby on Thursday, compensation could await Chris Gordon's charge today. 3m point-to-point winner Carrigmoorna Rowan likely found the extended 2m at Exeter on the sharp side and Harry Fry's charge is feared most now faced with a stiffer test, while Ikalimix and Country Lady are also open to improvement.

HIGHWAY ONE O FIVE is well related and made a positive start when third at Kempton. This race doesn't look as strong and he takes preference over Carrigmoorna Rowan and Country Lady, who also made encouraging Rules debuts.

It was a traditionally good bumper (already franked) in which the well-related HIGHWAY ONE O FIVE finished third at Kempton.

Yeats mare STRAIGHT HOME made a bright start to her point-to-point career when winning on debut at Kildorrery. She was in charge before the last and was left clear when her main rival fell. There should be more to come from her. Miss Oreo's third place in a Borris House point-to-point last month has a solid look to it. The winner has since finished third in a handicap hurdle and the runner-up has landed a point-to-point. Miss Drussell enjoyed herself on testing ground at Ballycrystal when winning a mares' maiden point-to-point by an eased down 20 lengths. That was a big step forward and she has to be respected.

This probably won't be a deep race with MISS OREO the tentative call given she's displayed ability in points, winning once and placed last month. Straight Home also arrives on the back of a win between the flags and she's a potential danger.

This makes almost no punting appeal. The declarations cut up badly and STRAIGHT HOME might be a rare bumper winner for Timothy Townend

FIREFOX was impressive in scooting home by 10 lengths in a Navan bumper. He had previously shown ability when fourth in a maiden hurdle and second in a bumper, and is clearly going the right way. Fascile Mode created quite an impression in winning a bumper on debut at Leopardstown. There are questions to answer after his next two starts, however, they came in Grade 2 and Grade 1 contests. He is likely to have a say here. Willie Mullins' Ile Atlantique travelled supremely well off the front in Naas, but didn't find as much as expected when asked for more and was beaten into second. That was just his second start after winning a Leopardstown bumper and he is learning the game. His stablemate, Ballyburn, is a threat. He won his point-to-point and graduated to the track with aplomb in winning a Punchestown bumper in February.

BALLYBURN won his only start in points and maintained his unbeaten record when landing a bumper at Punchestown on Rules debut. There's more to come from him and he's marginally preferred to stablemate Ile Atlantique, who is actually the preference of Patrick Mullins. Firefox is also a player.

Patrick Mullins prefers Ile Atlantique over Ballyburn but one who might beat them both is impressive Navan winner FIREFOX.
