LTO Selection:

14:00 Fontwell Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

DOUBLE CLICK, who is a half-brother to a hurdles winner over this trip and is out of a half-sister to the unforgettable Best Mate, looks worth chancing in an ordinary-looking event. He debuts under Rules at a realistic level and could make an immediate impact for an in-form yard. Rocco Royale is improving and completes the shortlist alongside Scene One, who may be better than he was able to show last time.

ROCCO ROYALE is going the right way and this looks a good opportunity for him to get off the mark with further improvement anticipated over this longer trip. Double Click was unplaced in 3 Irish points but has joined a respected yard and needs taking seriously on his Rules debut, especially if the market speaks in his favour. Scene One returns from a break with something to prove but isn't completely dismissed based on his earlier promise.

Scene One sets the form standard but he comes here under a cloud and ROCCO ROYALE has the potential to improve past him anyway.

LTO Selection:

14:15 Thirsk Maiden (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Anjo Bonita has finished in the frame in all bar one of her five previous starts (twice here) and can go well again, while Liberalist also showed promise in two runs last season and is respected on her return. However, CLASSIC PUZZLE, who is a half-sister to the Group 3-winning sprinter Tabdeed, appeals on pedigree and could make a winning start on her debut.

LIBERALIST shaped well when third at Newmarket in the autumn and should prove a tough nut to crack. Anjo Bonita was consistent at 2 and gets the nod for the forecast spot ahead of Congruent.

This looks between Anjo Bonita and LIBERALIST with the latter, a good third at Newmarket on her second start, just preferred.

LTO Selection:

14:30 Fontwell Handicap Chase (Class 4) 18f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

SHAW'S CROSS has gone well at this course before and looks worth chancing in what is likely to be a tactical contest. He should have little to fear from marginally stepping back up in trip on forecast going that should ideally suit. Blacko is dangerous to underestimate despite a poor showing last time out, while the well-handicapped Ben Brody is not dismissed.

HECTOR JAGUEN is still low mileage and gets the nod in a race which may not take a great deal of winning. Ballingers Corner will be dangerous if improving her fencing.

Not much has gone to plan for BALLINGERS CORNER since her winning hurdle debut but it might pay to give her another chance here.

LTO Selection:

14:45 Thirsk Maiden (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Stella Blue finished fourth of five in a similar contest at Southwell 35 days ago and merits respect. However, GEMINI STAR showed plenty of promise on debut and, given how well that form has panned out, the daughter of Starspangledbanner looks the pick of this bunch. Bangles Joe and Aclaim To Fame are interesting debutants and should be noted in the betting.

GEMINI STAR acquitted herself well on debut at Haydock in the autumn and can get off the mark here. Stella Blue and Chattel Village look the likeliest dangers.

After her promising debut in the autumn, GEMINI STAR is by far the most appealing option in this modest maiden.

LTO Selection:

15:00 Fontwell Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 18f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having won a bumper on her racecourse bow last season, MISTRAL NELL is the only one that has previously won a race under Rules and she edges the nomination on account of her good rapport with Bryony Frost. Her latest third behind a couple of unexposed individuals was a respectable performance. Yesnosorry improved with a tongue-tie (retained) fitted last time and looks the chief threat, while Somespring Special is also respected.

YESNOSORRY offered much more than previously over hurdles when runner-up at Plumpton recently and, with that effort suggesting there could yet be more to come at this sort of level, she earns the vote to build on that and come out on top. Handicap debutante Somespring Special and Mistral Nell are feared in that order.

This looks good for handicap debutante SOMESPRING SPECIAL (nap), who comes here after two very promising 2m5f runs at Wincanton.

LTO Selection:

15:15 Thirsk Handicap (Class 6) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

This presents PHILOS with a good chance to get off the mark if he can cope with the switch back to turf. The gelding was keen on his latest outing but his stamina is more proven than most, which could be a vital asset here. Others to consider are Stelios and Oskar, who are open to improvement over this distance, while Wilpena Pound is noted on debut for a new yard.

This looks decidedly trappy and the betting is likely to prove a good guide. TEN BOB NOTE displayed only minor promise in a trio of novice events last term but now gets his first crack at handicaps (also been gelded) and could well take a step forward. Edwina Sheeran and Philos are others to consider, whilst market support for Spare Rib and Wadacre Inca would also look significant.

Roger Fell's EDWINA SHEERAN posted a good fourth at Southwell and can return from a break in style, with first-time cheekpieces a plus.

LTO Selection:

15:30 Fontwell Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 18f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Red Windsor bumped into an improver when filling the runner-up spot here in February and he could be fairly treated from an opening mark of 121, but marginal preference is for the hat-trick seeking MONJULES. The five-year-old has thrived in the care of Harry Fry, winning three of his four starts for the yard, and his latest 6lb rise in the handicap might not be enough to halt his progression. Gardener is another to consider.

MONJULES can pull out a bit more and make it 4 wins in only 5 starts since joining the Harry Fry stable. Astromachia was a bit better than the result at Sandown last time and is feared most having been dropped another 2 lb. Red Windsor brings unexposed potential to this handicap debut.

Progressive 5yo MONJULES has done very well for his new stable this season and is attempting to complete a C&D hat-trick.

15:45 Thirsk Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

A fiendishly wide-open contest, in which it might pay dividends to side with JACKMEISTER RUDI. The son of Churchill has been running with credit on the all-weather of late, but he should relish the return to turf. He's now 4lb lower than when a good second on soft ground at Catterick in October and a relatively low draw could further aid his chances. Others to note include Martin's Brig, Enderman, and Rain Cap.

Plenty in with a shout and it could just be worth chancing LOCKDOWN LASS. She wasn't at her best on all weather late last year but did run well following a break last spring and with her rider taking off a handy 5 lb, she could bounce back. Martin's Brig and Jackmeister Rudi are others to consider, along with Miss Calculation.

This can go to MISS CALCULATION back on turf, perhaps at the chief expense of Martin's Brig.

16:00 Fontwell Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 22f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

FLINTARA bolted up over 3m2f on her return to action last month and, with the drop in trip unlikely to be an issue, Richard Bandey's charge is fancied to repeat the dose. Star Flyer showed ability in novice company and he could take a step forward on handicap debut, while the consistent Just Loose Change might not be far away either.

FLINTARA has returned an all-round improved model, building on her December victory at Uttoxeter in comfortable fashion here (25.7f) 4 weeks ago. She earns the vote to defy another rise in the weights and complete the hat-trick, with Just Loose Change and Chloe's Court heading up the dangers. Star Flyer is also worth keeping an eye on.

The pick is JUST LOOSE CHANGE, who won in good style on his handicap debut last autumn and has performed well on both starts this year.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

HOOTS TOOTS was in good form when last seen, notching up a brace of victories at Southwell, and the latest of those came off a 5lb lower mark. He showed promise on turf last year and the son of Outstrip might have more to offer after a 194-day break. Spartakos is only 1lb higher than when finishing a good second at Catterick in October and, with conditions to suit, he should be on the premises. Darbucks can chase them home.

Preference is for DARBUCKS, who has run well in both starts this year and is back on his last winning mark. Hoots Toots and Spartakos can also make their presence felt.

There is a fitness query but HOOTS TOOTS (nap) was going the right way in the autumn and should have another good year.

16:30 Fontwell Handicap Chase (Class 5) 26f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

In not the strongest of contests, a chance can be taken with the Polly Gundry-trained WIND TOR. She secured a fair third over 3m at Exeter on her latest outing last month and can improve, especially given Chloe Emsley knocks 7lb off her back due to her claim. William Philo is feared most in first-time blinkers, while The Boat is another to bear in mind.

WILLIAM PHILO offered more in this sphere when third at Chepstow last month and is fancied to land the spoils. Wind Tor looks the likeliest danger.

Preference is for WILLIAM PHILO, who ran well in a big field at Chepstow 12 days ago and remains well treated on earlier hurdle form.

16:45 Thirsk Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

HOLLY BLACKMORE was far from disgraced at Chelmsford in February, where she finished a creditable third despite racing freely. The daughter of Kessaar is bred to be much better than a mark of 49 and she could take a step forward now racing on turf for the first time. Bedazzling merits respect on her stable debut, along with Mystical Dreams, who has dropped to an attractive mark. Teresa Grace should not be underestimated either.

DEBYDINKS again went close to breaking his duck when runner-up at Newcastle 3 weeks ago and in the hope underfoot conditions don't prove an issue, he could be up to getting off the mark. Teresa Grace, Cheyenne Nation and Fortunate Star head up the dangers.

Having finished a good third on her handicap debut at Chelmsford, HOLLY BLACKMORE is selected to win this weak sprint handicap.

17:00 Fontwell NH Flat Race (Class 5) 14f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A facile winner of a point-to-point in January, it could be worth siding with TAITA HILLS on his debut for Gary Moore. The fact he kept on to win by six lengths during the aforementioned contest suggests there could be more to come from the gelded son of Workforce, but All Authorized boasts an appealing pedigree and should not be taken lightly on his racecourse bow. Bing Belle completes the shortlist.

ALL AUTHORIZED has a good pedigree for a race like this and is selected to make a winning debut, with confidence in his chance increased should the betting vibes be strong. Dotties Star is unlikely to be too far away if recapturing his debut form, while Bing Belle is also respected for a stable with a very healthy 17-41 record in bumpers here.

The suggestion is DOTTIES STAR, who made a pleasing debut at Huntingdon in the autumn and wasn't disgraced in a Listed race last time.

17:15 Thirsk Handicap (Class 6) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

A facile winner over this trip at Leicester on his most recent outing in October, it could be worth siding with FEN TIGER on his return from a break. He has gone up 5lb for the aforementioned success, but the fact that Frederick Larson negates most of that rise courtesy of his 3lb claim must make the five-year-old of significant interest. Marbuzet and Victoriano are the main dangers.

C&D winner FEN TIGER had a fine campaign last year and returns on a workable mark. He gets the nod in a tricky-looking handicap. Poster Child and Purple Ice should also go well.

A chance is taken on the fitness of POSTER CHILD, who was competitive in all her three runs for this yard last season.

17:30 Southwell Handicap (Class 6) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Only narrowly denied over this trip at Wolverhampton last month, preference is for the John Quinn-trained HAVEN LADY. She finished a decent second over 1m6f at this track on her penultimate outing and should not be taken lightly given she's off the same mark. Habanero Star was a comfortable winner over 1m3f here last time out and is feared most, while Hashtagmetoo completes the shortlist.

HAVEN LADY has been holding her form well for some time and was thwarted only by one who had dropped to a good mark at Wolverhampton last week, so she remains one to be interested in. Franco Grasso and Defence Treaty head the dangers.

The choice is HAVEN LADY who has won over C&D and found only a well-handicapped rival just too strong at Wolverhampton a week ago.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Runner-up at Southwell on his most recent start, Freedom Flyer can have a big say in proceedings back on turf, but it could be worth taking a chance on ZOOM STAR. Although she disappointed on the all-weather in January, she is rated just 1lb above her last winning turf mark which came over this trip at Catterick in October. Rockley Point is another who cannot be dismissed.

TANTASTIC has been given a chance by the handicapper and arrives on the back of a good fourth in a stronger contest at Doncaster. He gets the nod in the finale. Freedom Flyer and Astapor head the list of dangers.

Roger Fell's PRIMO scored three times last term and didn't enjoy the rub of the green at Newcastle last time, so he gets the vote.

18:00 Southwell Stakes (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Covey is an interesting newcomer for John and Thady Gosden and the son of Frankel should not be taken lightly here, but ZOOLOGY gets the vote. He makes his return to action having struggled in the Middle Park at Newmarket in September, but kept on well to score on his debut at Yarmouth the time before. He beat subsequent French-Listed winner Proverb on that occasion and is entitled to have improved again from two to three years. Themainprotagonist also warrants a market check.

ZOOLOGY found the step up to Group 1 company all too much so early in his career in the Middle Park Stakes, but the manner of his Yarmouth debut success is still fresh in the memory, so he's difficult to oppose back in much calmer waters on his return. Covey is a respected newcomer from a top yard, while Elwasme's debut form worked out well and he has strong each-way claims.

This can go to ZOOLOGY who sets a useful standard. He will find this somewhat easier than when last seen contesting the Middle Park.

18:30 Southwell Handicap (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Only narrowly denied at Leicester on her most recent outing in October, DEAR DAPHNE is fancied to make a winning switch to the all-weather. Her dam was a Listed winner and Group 3-placed in Italy during her career so there could be more in the locker this year. Twilight Dancer finished a good second over this trip at Wolverhampton last month and heads the list of dangers from the unexposed Shine Honey Shine.

The drop back to 6f should suit ALL IN THE HIPS who can strike again with Oisin Murphy back in the saddle. Dear Daphne is one who is likely capable of better and she's feared most ahead of Lumacho for the George Boughey/William Buick combination.

The vote goes to LADY NAGIN who did it in good style when winning over C&D in January and that form has worked out well.

19:00 Southwell Handicap (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

DOUBLE MARCH atoned for a couple of near misses when winning over 7f here in October, and it would be no surprise were she to follow up back over 1m. Dayzee made a winning stable debut for the Meade team last time out and she merits respect, along with the Charlie Appleby-trained Mountain Song, who gains the services of champion jockey William Buick for the first time. Others to note include Too Much and Scenic.

Quite an interesting handicap. TOO MUCH did it nicely over C&D last month and may be able to defy the handicapper. Mountain Song is an obvious danger for the Charlie Appleby team. Dayzee and Scenic are others who should have a part to play.

The choice is TOO MUCH who did it well when making a winning handicap debut over C&D last month. She may be up to defying a 5lb rise.

19:30 Southwell Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

CAVALLUCCIO overcame traffic problems to score here last Friday and the gelded son of Caravaggio might have what it takes to deal with a 5lb penalty, providing this race doesn't come too soon. How Bizarre was narrowly denied by the selection that day and he must go on the shortlist. Tom Tulliver remains in good form and is more than capable of mounting another serious challenge.

Assuming a recent busy spell hasn't caught up with him, TOM TULLIVER might be up to landing another win. Oisin Murphy takes the ride on Dreams Delivered who can bounce straight back from a lesser run last time and provide the chief threat ahead of Masham Moor.

This can be the day HOW BIZARRE ends the drought, being 5lb better off with Cavalluccio for a nose defeat over C&D on Friday.

LTO Selection:

20:00 Southwell Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

URBAN DANDY won with something in hand at Newcastle 20 days ago and is an appealing option in his bid to follow up off just a 3lb higher mark. Doctor Mozart also merits serious consideration given his recent improvement, while Exceed (fourth) is open to improvement and is worth a betting check having met trouble at the start behind the selection last time.

URBAN DANDY had a few of these in behind him when scoring at Newcastle last month and can defy the handicapper again and make it 3-4 for the year. Exceed was having his first outing in a handicap when fourth to the selection at Newcastle and he might get a bit closer to him this time. South Dakota Sioux also makes the shortlist.

This looks good for URBAN DANDY (nap) to make it 3-4 since switching to the AW. He had three of these behind when successful last time.

LTO Selection:

20:30 Southwell Handicap (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The return to 7f is a positive for ONE MORE DREAM, who has shown zest since he returned from a short break and appeals on these terms with Taylor Fisher's 5lb claim easing the burden of top weight. Perfect Swiss also rates as a player but he likes to be delivered late and, as he is yet to win over this trip, he needs everything to fall right. Ebury and Rogue Star complete the shortlist.

RUMNOTRED needs to shrug off a lesser display over 1m here in February but he had previously been shaping up encouragingly and this low-mileage sort may well be up to getting back on track returned to this shorter trip. Perfect Swiss and One More Dream are a couple of others to consider.

Perfect Swiss will be dangerous if getting the start right but NORTHBOUND can go well fresh and has more to give on Tapeta.
