The four-year-old CLERMONT FERRAND outran odds of 50/1 when she was a good second to a smart prospect on her belated debut at Yarmouth earlier this month. The daughter of Kodiac had plenty in hand over the reopposing Regal Agenda (fourth) in that race and can cement her authority. Camzara could be the biggest danger now she steps up from a mile on just her third career start.

Regal Agenda's second last October is comparable form but CLERMONT FERRAND beat her by 5l over this trip three weeks ago.

Coma Cluster is highly notable after finishing a close second on her handicap debut at Nottingham. Turned out relatively quickly, another bold showing is expected off just 2lb higher but QUESTIONABLE could be too wily at this stage. The Kublers' filly is versatile regarding ground preference and shades the vote given she is already a winner over 1m2f. Bintabuha also has a big chance.

With a good run under her belt and today's step up in trip, the well-related COMA CLUSTER may well get off the mark.

ANDERSEN has an appealing pedigree and although he was unsold at 80,000 euros as a breeze-up juvenile, he showed promise when introduced over 1m2f at Chelmsford last month. The son of Kameko ran green and got tired as that race unfolded, but can improve greatly over this shorter trip. Gloriously Sassy and Arabian Force represent high-profile yards and are respected as such. Hymnbook completes the shortlist.

A tricky choice. The extra 1f looks sure to benefit GLORIOUSLY SASSY, who gets the vote ahead of Arabian Force.

Drifts Away is bidding to complete the four-timer after his victory at Chelmsford last month, but has another 3lb to contend with. With that in mind, GIORGIO M gets the vote. The son of Profitable had Feel The Need (third) behind when just touched off into second over C&D last time and can defy his 1lb rise for that performance. How Impressive has Oisin Murphy back in the plate and is another to note.

The vote goes to dual C&D winner HOW IMPRESSIVE who has only just missed out here the last twice and remains favourably treated.

A promising third on his return over 7f at Redcar, STRATOCRACY should appreciate the step up back up to a mile, having won over the trip twice last season. He is preferred to Paris Lights, who had the reopposing Power Of Gold (third) narrowly behind when runner-up at Pontefract recently. Placed on his last two starts at Wolverhampton, Cosmos Raj is expected to be thereabouts as well.

The vote goes to STRATOCRACY (nap) who travelled well for a long way at Redcar and may have just needed it after five months off.

However, TOURIST struck at the same venue by a length when making his first start for the Robert Cowell yard and only has a 6lb higher mark to contend with. If the four-year-old can run at a similar level, he could prove tough to beat. Sugar Hill Babe completes the shortlist.

True Promise can go well back on AW but TOURIST (nap) looked a natural over 5f on his stable debut and can defy his 6lb rise.

The daughter of Cracksman could have lots more to offer this year and can defy an opening mark of 84. The main threat might be Orchard Keeper, who made the frame at Leicester earlier in the month and should remain competitive off an unchanged mark. Overture completed a four-timer when last seen and isn't out of it either.

Fitness may be key so the vote goes to ORCHARD KEEPER who made an encouraging return when third at Leicester this month.

A taking winner over C&D last June in the midst of an excellent winning sequence, YAZAMAN returned to action with a respectable effort over slightly shorter at Leicester, which should have him primed for this assignment. First Company could be well suited by the trip, having shown plenty of pace over further on the all-weather. Northcliff is another to note in the first-time visor.

A case can be argued for most of these but his record fresh, allied to a lowly handicap mark, tips the scales in favour of HAIL SEZER.

Only 2lb higher today, Kevin Ryan's filly looks on a workable mark and gets the speculative vote in an open contest. Several make their handicap debuts representing powerful yards and the market may offer valuable clues as to the chances of the novice winners Morrophore and Bintjeddah, while Waardah is another worthy of respect.

CUDA BEEN A ROWLEX's stamina just held out when he landed the spoils over 1m2f at Redcar earlier this month. Roger Fell's gelding makes plenty of appeal reverting to 1m and a 2lb nudge up the ratings is more than workable. The biggest threat may emerge from the unexposed Pretty Spirited, who so nearly sprung a big surprise on her handicap bow at Southwell, while Tuesday's Yarmouth runner-up Zappata has a very similar profile.

This can go to ZAPPATA who took a big step forward when a close second on handicap/turf debut at Yarmouth on Tuesday.

However, he is effectively 11lb higher without Cian Horgan's 3lb claim so MISS WILLOWS shades the vote. Simon Whitaker's mare has a 10lb hike of her own to overcome, but she looked one to follow when making all on her seasonal bow at Catterick. The down-in-grade Naval Academy is worth a second look off a career-low mark.

Queens Road Revue and NAVAL ACADEMY are both weighted to go well, with marginal preference for the latter.

DON PACIFICO ran into a wall of horses at the All-Weather Championships at Newcastle and that effort can be safely ignored. The son of Night Of Thunder won a novices race here at the end of last year and can show his true colours today with normal luck in-running. Handcuffed finished a creditable fourth in a competitive nursery at York last term and can make her presence felt with a similar effort, while Noble Victory has solid form on the all-weather surfaces and could also land a blow.

A competitive race in which NOBLE VICTORY could take a step forward from his promising handicap debut. Don Pacifico is feared most.

Having produced another career-best performance when completing a hat-trick at Lingfield nine days ago, WESTMORIAN may still be a step ahead of the handicapper. A 6lb rise looks workable for Grant Tuer's progressive six-year-old and he's preferred to Dutch Kingdom. The son of Iffraaj is only 2lb higher than last month's 7f course triumph and another bold bid is forecast. The downgraded Bergerac is also noted reverting to 6f.

Badri, Northern Spirit and DRAMA look the three to focus on. The selection still has more to offer on synthetic surfaces.

However, a further 6lb higher mark and rise in class/trip could be enough to trip the four-year-old up. CHARGING THUNDER supplemented his C&D triumph with a close-up second in a competitive affair at Newbury 16 days ago and James Owen's inmate makes most appeal, closely followed by Cesarewitch runner-up Manxman.

A strong field, but it could be decided by GIBSIDE reversing this month's 1m6f placings with Caballo De Mar.
