1st (4) ![]() Makes Me Wonder |
13/2(+13%) | (4) Makes Me Wonder 13/2, Only beaten about 3l off 57 penultimate start in a handicap, but below that last time when 7th of 8 at Southwell last time; not proven trip; off a short-break Out of the frame in all six starts on the AW; bred to be better than he has shown. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) ![]() Zappata |
11/2(+45%) | (9) Zappata 11/2, Well held all starts and never a factor in first-time tongue-tie in a novice over 7f at Kempton last time; cheekpieces first time may help a bit The longer trip should suit on handicap debut and worth a market check; cheekpieces on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) ![]() Me Tarzan |
2/1(+0%) | (3) Me Tarzan 2/1, Ran to form beaten 1 1/4l off 52 over 7f at Kempton last time; up in trip; as good on turf and looks nicely weighted Steadily progressing at a modest level; has shaped as though 1m will suit; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) ![]() Latona |
7/1(+22%) | (1) Latona 7/1, Well beaten back on turf 5 1/4l 6th in a handicap here last time; fair effort on AW previous start and not badly handicapped on that 0-6 but ran better than it may have looked over C&D last time and this is a drop in class. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) ![]() No Gain |
28/1(-40%) | (10) No Gain 28/1, Only beaten 3/4l off 45 at Wolverhampton penultimate start and did not get a clear run beaten 6l in a handicap over 7f at Chelmsford last time; tongue-tie first time; could figure, but needs to settle Close fourth on handicap debut at Wolverhampton in February but not so good last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) ![]() Amber Honey |
12/1(-9%) | (2) Amber Honey 12/1, Raced freely beaten 3 1/2l off 53 at Redcar last time; generally progressive though mark is not that generous based on achievements so far Ran better when fifth on handicap/turf debut at Redcar 15 days go; may progress a bit more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) ![]() All Cost |
7/1(-56%) | (5) All Cost 7/1, Consistent at a low level on the AW; not proven in turf, but can contend places if handles it Narrowly failed to land a gamble on handicap debut at Kempton but held three times since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) ![]() Tiana Rose |
33/1(+34%) | (8) Tiana Rose 33/1, Beaten 2 3/4l in a nursery off 56 in September; nicely weighted on that, but very poor since, twice recently; hard to fancy Third on nursery debut at Brighton in September but well held in three starts on AW since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) ![]() Sir Kenny |
12/1(+14%) | (7) Sir Kenny 12/1, Pretty well beaten all starts; trainer in form; tongue-tie tried having had wind operation; lots to prove Probably of interest only if attracting support on handicap debut; tongue-tie on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (11) ![]() Runnindown A Dream |
150/1(-127%) | (11) Runnindown A Dream 150/1, Well beaten all starts, largely in very low grade events; can't be considered until showing some ability Has beaten just one rival in four starts over 5f-7f on the AW; best to look elsewhere. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (12) ![]() Late Star |
40/1(-60%) | (12) Late Star 40/1, No worthwhile form; up in trip; plenty more needed Beat a total of one rival in three starts over 7f last year; major improvement required. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (6) ![]() In The Sunshine |
11/1(+56%) | (6) In The Sunshine 11/1, Poor form in novices; probably fair mark for handicap debut, but plenty to prove off a break Improvement needed on handicap debut after six months off. |
ME TARZAN returned from a 183-day break to make the frame at Kempton earlier in the month and competes off the same mark here. James Fanshawe's gelding looks to have been found a good opportunity to get off the mark. Amber Honey showed more when fifth on her first start in a handicap at Redcar last time and may get into contention off a 1lb lower rating. Latona is the pick of the remainder.
The vote goes to LATONA whose latest effort here could be forgiven. She travelled well into that race and this is a drop in class.

1st (2) ![]() Big Interest |
10/3(-11%) | (2) Big Interest 10/3, Yard has won 2 of last 9 runnings of race; looked to want further 7l third in a hunter chase over 2m4f at Down Royal most recent run; step up in trip a plus; danger if ground not too testing Has failed to build on a fine Down Royal win in December but remains a promising sort. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) ![]() Hollow Games |
5/1(-11%) | (4) Hollow Games 5/1, Second beaten 3l in a conditions race over 3m at Portrush latest; in good form under rules prior; form franked at Aintree; in the mix Needs to step up on the form of hunters' chase outings at Haydock and Gowran, may do so. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) ![]() Run Wild Fred |
8/1(+33%) | (5) Run Wild Fred 8/1, Second beaten 1 1/2l in a novice over 3m at Bandon latest; cheekpieces first time; off a short-break; formerly useful staying handicap chaser; needs to prove ability remains Former Troytown winner, has become regressive, plenty to prove, cheekpieces tried now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) ![]() Balkito |
66/1(+34%) | (1) Balkito 66/1, Raced freely down the field in a hunter chase at Gowran Park most recent; inconsistent; more needed to get involved Out of form during the autumn points campaign, no encouragement from recent form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) ![]() Go Another One |
66/1(-230%) | (3) Go Another One 66/1, 32l third in a conditions race over 3m at Tattersalls Farm most recent run; needs quicker ground; opposed Winner of 14 races under rules, no success in 12 starts in points since last October. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) ![]() Ryehill |
5/6(+8%) | (6) Ryehill 5/6, Down the field in a hunter chase over 3m2f at Cheltenham most recent where found ground too quick; this much easier; trainer in form; big chance back on softer surface Down the field at Cheltenham, every chance on the strength of his Naas win in February. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) ![]() Step Up Son |
16/1(-60%) | (7) Step Up Son 16/1, Below par comfortably held in a maiden chase over 3m at Downpatrick last time where ground too quick; in good form prior; each way player Outran odds of 100-1 when second at Gowran, flopped on good ground at Downpatrick. |
RYEHILL arrives on the back of a 10th on good to soft ground at Cheltenham but it is hard to forget his penultimate outing in Naas, where the mud was flying. He put the field to the sword by 12 lengths and gets the nod on that basis. Run Wild Fred could build upon a runner-up spot at Bandon point-to-point last month. That was just his second run back after an absence and he gets first-time cheekpieces. Hollow Games showed more in second behind a prolific winner at Portrush, while deep ground doesn't look ideal for Big Interest.
The going will pose no problem to St James's Place also-ran RYEHILL whose two wide-margin hunter chase wins have come on soft

1st (1) ![]() Alkuwarrior |
5/1(-11%) | (1) Alkuwarrior 5/1, Three fair efforts and probably made too much use of fourth beaten 2l in a maiden at Brighton latest; light-framed, fast action and has shown plenty of speed; behind Justice Twice in the Brocklesby Has shown ability the last twice but also his limitations; vulnerable to a newcomer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) ![]() Justice Twice |
9/2(-13%) | (5) Justice Twice 9/2, Finished 9th of the 17 in the Brocklesb, but was only beaten 3 1/2l; should improve for that run and down in class here; opportunity Midfield in the Brocklesby at Doncaster last month; open to improvement but needs it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) ![]() Moretons |
13/8(+41%) | (4) Moretons 13/8, 11 Mar; 100,000gns Cotai Glory colt; half-brother to Rescue Mission, useful at 7f; dam half-sister to 5f Group 2 winner; not cheap by any means and one to watch in the market Something to like on breeding; stable does have 2yo winners first time out; watch market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) ![]() Booziebrunch |
8/1(+20%) | (2) Booziebrunch 8/1, 27 Mar; 40,000gns Coulsty colt; dam smart (Listed-placed) at 6f at 2yo and half-sister to a couple of winners; worth a look in the market Enough to like on breeding and stable can get them ready first time; market informative. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) ![]() Greek Gold |
16/1(-60%) | (3) Greek Gold 16/1, 6 May; Magna Grecia colt; first foal; dam very useful at 7f at 2yo, half-sister to top-class 10f mare Arabian Queen; probably need further and time Stable has few go in first time and being such a late foal he may be one for later on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) ![]() Magic Box |
7/2(-40%) | (6) Magic Box 7/2, 4 Apr; £34,000 Showcasing filly; half-sister to Boy Browning, very useful at 6f; dam fair at 7f at 2yo; top course trainer; one to consider, but looks a lesser light of yard on pedigree and price Top stable has a good record with 2yo newcomers; market will be revealing. |
MAGIC BOX cost 34,000 pounds as a yearling and is a half-sister to Boy Browning, who was a winner over 6f as a juvenile. With William Haggas' string starting the season in fine order, it would be no surprise to see her make an instant impression in a winnable contest. Greek Gold's dam is a half-sister to Group 1 winner Arabian Queen, so he may be seen in a better light as he takes a step up in trip. Alkuwarrior brings the most experience to the table and will be looking to put that to good use.
This may go to MORETONS who cost a bit as a yearling and has more than enough in his pedigree to make him of interest.

1st (1) ![]() Double Digits |
8/11(+71%) | (1) Double Digits 8/11, Won a maiden hurdle at Carlisle over 2m1f by 9l last time; good ground suits; likely alternative Much improved form on last two outings, latterly when winning at Carlisle this month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) ![]() Evaluation |
11/4(+63%) | (2) Evaluation 11/4, Ran to form comfortably held in a novice hurdle at Musselburgh last time; inconsistent; off a short-break; more to come judged on flat form but stamina to prove Easily won uncompetitive race on hurdling debut but two lesser efforts have followed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) ![]() Fiver Friday |
5/2(-400%) | (4) Fiver Friday 5/2, Something in hand won a maiden hurdle at Naas by 3l last time; useful on flat previously; can follow up Useful Flat racer who won 20-runner Navan maiden on recent hurdling debut; good chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) ![]() Top Flight Century |
40/1(+39%) | (9) Top Flight Century 40/1, Probably needed race well beaten in a novice hurdle over 2m2f here latest; generally out of form on flat prior; trainer in form; not proven trip; all to do Lowly rated Flat maiden; soundly beaten here on recent stable/hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) ![]() Thunder Gap |
100/1(+0%) | (6) Thunder Gap 100/1, Probably needed race comfortably held in a novice hurdle over 2m2f here last time; generally out of form; not proven trip; all to do 0-14 under all codes and faces another tough task today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) ![]() Clan Chieftain |
22/1(+73%) | (3) Clan Chieftain 22/1, Down the field in a maiden hurdle here most recent; returning from a break; all to do Fairly useful on the Flat but safely held on both hurdling starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) ![]() Delayed Charm |
200/1(-33%) | (7) Delayed Charm 200/1, Below par well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Catterick latest; generally out of form; not proven trip; off a short-break; all to do Showed very little on the Flat and has struggled on both hurdling starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) ![]() Nae Bother At A' |
100/1(0%) | (5) Nae Bother At A' 100/1, Looked unenthusiastic comfortably held in a novice hurdle over 2m6f at Newcastle last time; generally out of form; not proven trip; all to do Well beaten at triple-digit odds on all three hurdling starts last year; had wind op since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) ![]() Keady Town |
100/1(-400%) | (8) Keady Town 100/1, Raced freely well beaten in a handicap over 10f at Doncaster latest; in good form prior; up in trip; market may prove best guide on hurdle debut Fair on the Flat at his best but last summer's stable debut was very disappointing. |
Fiver Friday got off the mark on her first start over hurdles at Naas and if she improves for that, her journey over from Ireland may easily prove worthwhile. DOUBLE DIGITS has to give her 7lb but has an experience edge with four starts over timber, winning the latest at odds-on at Carlisle. On ground that is expected to suit, he could come out on top. Keady Town returns from a wind operation for his hurdling debut and he might prove best of the rest.
Useful Flat racer FIVER FRIDAY beat a big field on last month's hurdling debut and could have a very good future over jumps.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (10) ![]() Sea Aster |
25/1(-39%) | (10) Sea Aster 25/1, Landed a handicap by 3/4l off 110 over 3m2f at Down Royal last time appreciating the quicker ground; down in trip; needs to improve and may find conditions on the soft side 2-10 from fences after 3m2f win on good ground at Down Royal nine days ago, up 7lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) ![]() La Malmason |
14/1(-27%) | (1) La Malmason 14/1, Down the field in Plate Handicap Chase at Cheltenham most recent where let down by jumping; top jockey back on board; each way claims off top weight Course winner in December, sights lowered again after Exeter and Cheltenham ventures. |
ZENTA bounced back to winning ways with a lovely performance over a similar trip in a mares' beginners' chase at this track in February. Attritional ground holds no fears for her and it is worth noting that she was a Grade 1 winner over flights, so there could be more to come from her in this sphere now that she has got her head in front. La Malmason didn't feature in the Plate at the Cheltenham Festival but has claims on her previous efforts, including when third in a Listed mares' chase at Exeter. Majestic Force is a lightly-raced seven-year-old who knows how to win and appreciated a staying test at Wexford on St Patrick's Day.
The vote goes to MAJESTIC FORCE who won on heavy ground over hurdles and has chase form linked to Sunday's Grade 1 winner Spindleberry

1st (4) ![]() Queen Of Thieves |
5/6(-25%) | (4) Queen Of Thieves 5/6, Promise debut at 2yo and beaten favourite in what was probably quite a good fillies' maiden over 10f at Newbury second start; trainer in form; should stay up in trip; the one to beat Sister to top-class Cracksman; entitled to improve and should appreciate the stiffer test. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) ![]() Miss Wong |
11/10(+12%) | (3) Miss Wong 11/10, Staying on when 2 1/2l third in a maiden over 8f at Nottingham in heavy second start; longer trip could suit, but may need run off a break Dam was a 1m4f Listed winner for the yard; step up in trip looks sure to suit this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) ![]() Bovey Belle |
200/1(-33%) | (1) Bovey Belle 200/1, Yet to show any real signs of ability; blinkers first time; all to do Started massive prices for two AW starts, finishing a tailed-off last on each occasion. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) ![]() Highland Midge |
25/1(-14%) | (2) Highland Midge 25/1, Golden Horn filly; first foal; dam very useful at 10f; trip should suit, may need a bit of time First foal of trainer's 1m2f winner The Jean Genie; yard still to get rolling for the year. |
QUEEN OF THIEVES finished a fair third on her return to action at Newbury earlier in the month and it would be no surprise to see her take a big step forward from that effort. This step up in trip could unlock further improvement and she looks the one to beat. Miss Wong showed ability on both of her starts as a juvenile and needs to be taken seriously, while Highland Midge faces a tough task on debut.
The step up to middle distances can only suit MISS WONG this year and she's preferred to Queen Of Thieves in what looks a match.

16/1(+11%) | (10) She Won't Mind 16/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 2m7f at Fakenham latest when well backed; down in trip; returning from a break; good mark on novice form; of interest Pulled up on handicap debut (2m7f); drops back in trip with hood refitted here. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (1) ![]() Isabel De Clare |
28/1(-56%) | (1) Isabel De Clare 28/1, Down the field in a maiden hurdle over 2m4f at Wetherby most recent; cheekpieces first time; form going the wrong way Safely held on handicap debut in February and well beaten in maiden since; cheekpieces on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) ![]() Park Hind |
66/1(-164%) | (2) Park Hind 66/1, 5l third in a conditions race over 2m4f at Overton most recent run; not one to rely on back under rules Recently won a five-runner maiden point; has a lot more on her plate here. |
Tread Softly Now is the only course winner in this field after she scored narrowly over shorter last time out, but her record over 2m4f-plus isn't good and she may have to settle for a top-three spot. Isabel De Clare is coming down the handicap and could be of interest if first-time cheekpieces bring any improvement, although WINDS OF WINTER is still preferred. Second to Tread Softly Now earlier in the month, she is better off with the winner, which can help her turn that form around.
Third in a big-field series final at Musselburgh last month, ANAMANDA might open her hurdling account in this easier race.

|U| (13) ![]() Rusheen |
17/2(+47%) | (13) Rusheen 17/2, Ran to form comfortably held in a handicap chase over 3m at Navan last time; cheekpieces first time; down in trip; off a short-break; bit to find Good effort at Limerick in December, two more recent runs have been much less encouraging. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) ![]() Potters Party |
8/1(-14%) | (3) Potters Party 8/1, Ran to form second beaten 6l in a handicap chase over 2m6f at Thurles latest; ahead of Secrecies Of Stone that day; off a short-break; threat Course 3m1f winner on heavy, solid chance based on Thurles second in January. |
SECRECIES OF STONE is up in class but the way he travelled to win in Leopardstown, he could be up to the challenge. He kept wide and strode in by eight and a half lengths, so a 7lb rise doesn't look excessive. The hike is offset by Georgie Benson's claim and, if he can get into a similar rhythm, she should get a good spin. Ik's Man powered home to win by a big margin over further at Clonmel, so looks threatening. Aine O'Connor is a notable booking for Potters Party, while in-form British raider The Boola Boss would prefer better ground.
The groun should be fine bVAUREAL\p who reverts to handicap company after a satisfactory run in a beginners' event on stable debut

6/1(-9%) | (1) Babylon 6/1, Well backed beaten 2l in a novice over 7f at Wolverhampton last time; consistent; up in trip; off a short-break; not out of it The longer trip should suit on breeding and he's worth a second look on handicap debut. |

10/3(+17%) | (8) Something Splendid 10/3, Did not get a clear run beaten 2l off 66 over 8f at Nottingham last time; up in trip; one good run as a novice and would contend if finding that form Looked unfortunate not to go even closer when third on his seasonal/stable debut. |

9th (2) ![]() Sonic Pioneer |
25/1(-257%) | (2) Sonic Pioneer 25/1, Suited by step-up to 9f when scored by a length off 60 over at Wolverhampton penultimate start and got 10f last time; not the easiest mark, but in good form and contender First and second in two handicaps on the AW; respected if transferring that form to turf. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) ![]() Beachborough Girl |
50/1(-52%) | (10) Beachborough Girl 50/1, Did not get a clear run well beaten in a novice over 9f at Wolverhampton latest; up in trip; bit to find, but open to improvement Out of frame in three starts; makes handicap debut; bred to be better than she has shown. |
Sonic Pioneer arrives in good form and if he takes to the turf at the first attempt he could go well. Divot looks interesting ahead of his handicap debut with the step up in trip expected to bring improvement, but SOMETHING SPLENDID might be the one. Third on his first start for Peter Chapple-Hyam over shorter at Nottingham last month, he was repeatedly denied a clear run that day but was still beaten less than two lengths.
It may be worth siding with handicap debutant REQUIEM, whose seven winning siblings include three with triple-figure RPRs.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) ![]() Duty Calls |
40/1(-186%) | (5) Duty Calls 40/1, Below par fourth beaten 38l in a handicap chase over 2m1f here latest; goes well here; up in trip; form going the wrong way Runs this track well but has been out of form this season and is best on soft ground. |
It may pay to take a chance on top-weight TOPOFTHECOTSWOLDS, who won seven races for Nigel Twiston-Davies and was last seen coming home fourth at Sedgefield on his third appearance since joining Ollie Pears. A mark of 105 is a massive 37lb lower than his highest rating, and even at the age of 11 there may be one more victory in him. Instinct D'ainay is an obvious danger on his handicap and chasing debut, and is a bit of an unknown quantity. Pure Surf arrives in good form and is another to consider.
The one with least to prove is PURE SURF, who has her limitations but has posted two good efforts under Pippa Brown this month.

150/1(-355%) | (1) Annilogs Force 150/1, Pulled up in a maiden over 3m at Belharbour latest; cheekpieces first time; back in trip; off a short-break; all to do Modest form in 3 point-to-points; cheekpieces on for rules debut and can only be watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) ![]() Lord Raven |
150/1(-50%) | (10) Lord Raven 150/1, Below par down the field in a handicap over 10f at Curragh most recent; up in trip; unproven on slow ground; all to do Fair Flat maiden, tailed off only previous attempt hurdling back in September. |
The 125-rated KAINSBOURG has shown ability on rain-softened ground. The Doctor Dino gelding won twice in his native France on very testing ground and four outings over hurdles in Ireland have yielded a couple of runner-up berths at Limerick and Punchestown, and two fourth-placed runs. Kir is a potential improver up in trip, while Letos has plenty of solid form in France and began life in Ireland with a fourth over fences at Wexford. It is interesting that he reverts to hurdles, so a market check is advised.
A maiden which may not take much winning and a good opportunity for KAINSBOURG (nap) whose previous runs have been in stronger maidens

1st (6) ![]() Rebel Star |
5/2(-100%) | (6) Rebel Star 5/2, Well backed beaten a head off 54 at Chelmsford last time and has been knocking on the door; looks well handicapped based on last two starts; the one to beat if takes to turf (only one inconclusive run on debut) 2nd on last three starts; the visor has helped and she's on the shortlist up a fair 2lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) ![]() Coolagh Magic |
6/1(-33%) | (4) Coolagh Magic 6/1, Game when scored by 1 1/4l off 60 at Lingfield in February; bit below that form since though running fairly consistently; hasn't raced on turf since 2022 and that is a worry Hasn't run on turf since 2022; in fair form of late and has a 5lb lower mark on grass. |

3rd (8) ![]() Banana |
9/1(+36%) | (8) Banana 9/1, Below par beaten 6l in a handicap over 6f at Wolverhampton last time; better judged on 2 3/4l defeat off 46 previous start; bit to find at the weights based on that Longstanding, low-level maiden who hasn't run on turf in almost three years; hard to fancy. |

4th (3) ![]() Hint Of The Jungle |
17/2(+58%) | (3) Hint Of The Jungle 17/2, Probably needed race down the field in a handicap at Southwell on reappearance; has regressed badly since September 2023 and very hard to fancy until showing signs of return to form Pulled hard when a well-beaten last for his new yard (AW) last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) ![]() It's Showtime |
13/2(+35%) | (5) It's Showtime 13/2, Below par beaten 3 1/4l off 58 at Southwell last time and tongue-tie first time here; chance based on 1/2l defeat off 57 previous start and level of form similar on turf Well treated back on turf; the return of the usual headgear/tongue-tie is a positive too. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) ![]() Cabeza De Llave |
7/1(+50%) | (2) Cabeza De Llave 7/1, Probably needed race beaten 8 1/4l in a handicap at Wolverhampton on seasonal debut; in good form prior on AW and turf last year; only fair mark, but likely to run race and be thereabouts Hasn't shone in his two starts here; didn't offer any immediate promise on comeback. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) ![]() Sir Rodneyredblood |
14/1(-56%) | (7) Sir Rodneyredblood 14/1, Very well treated on recent narrow Chelmsford win off 57, but didn't look nearly as good on turf last term; chance, but clearly very risky Doesn't run often on turf but likes it here and is better treated than on the AW; chance. |
Rebel Star is an obvious contender after coming home second on her last three starts, going down by half a length, a short head and a head, but a chance is taken on IT'S SHOWTIME. Conrad Allen does well with his small string and, with Taryn Langley claiming 7lb off the four-year-old's back, she can go close back in this class on her return to grass. Although last of 10 on his return at Wolverhampton, Cabeza De Llave missed the break and is easily forgiven.
Rebel Star remains open to improvement but IT'S SHOWTIME returns to grass on a handy mark and gets the nod back in headgear.

|PU| (6) ![]() Sauce Of Life |
4/1(+0%) | (6) Sauce Of Life 4/1, Well treated at weights when landing a handicap by a neck off 101 over 2m3f at Doncaster last time; trainer in form; not fully exposed; major player Lightly raced 10yo; rallied for narrow win in December; may still have potential. |
STARLYTE made her way through the field to run out a ready scorer over track and trip last month and this looks a slightly easier assignment. The eight-year-old is only 7lb higher and can make it four victories from her last five starts. Sauce Of Life broke his hurdling duck at Doncaster in December and should go well again, while Imperial Data is another to note after his second behind the selection last time.
Left with a lot to do from the third-last flight, IMPERIAL DATA (nap) did very well to take second in a competitive C&D race in March.

9th (6) ![]() Runninwild |
18/1(-80%) | (6) Runninwild 18/1, Below par beaten 3 1/4l off 70 at Redcar last time; returning from long layoff; enjoys making it; contender if fit and ready to go Won two in a row at Carlisle last July but may improve for today's reappearance run. |
Back to form with a strong runner-up effort over 5f at Doncaster last month, ABATE looks the one to beat off a mark 7lb lower than his most recent success at Newmarket in September 2023. A revelation since joining the Ruth Carr team with three wins from three starts on the all-weather, Kats Bob must enter calculations, along with Profiteer, who was a determined winner at Pontefract on his penultimate outing.
Kats Bob is unbeaten for Ruth Carr but preference is for ABATE, who went close in a big field at Doncaster on last month's return.

A very competitive contest. Willie Mullins is well represented and his FISHERY LANE could be the answer. The Grade 1 Albert Bartlett proved too hot for him at Cheltenham, but his best form has been on rain-softened ground and his decisive maiden hurdle success at this track in January merits plenty of respect. Blaze The Way has been mixing in good company and his second at Navan and fourth in Uttoxeter read well. Custom Taylor arrives in rude health from a cruise around Limerick and he very rarely runs a below-par race, so is one for the shortlist. Autoportrait is a very consistent horse for Mouse Morris, while Stuart Crawford's Ayiko is another to consider.
Tramore maiden winner FAIRYLAND OPERA could be ahead of the handicapper at this longer distance and she gets a tentative vote

COORAMOOK was weak in the betting ahead of her Chelmsford return, but she finished a pleasing third. The Harry Eustace-trained daughter of Mehmas goes handicapping from a potentially lenient mark and given that she's a half-sister to useful sprinter Eminny, she could find progress back on turf. Maelstrom flattered to deceive at times last year, but he is in good hands and much better is expected. Others to note include Blue Empress and Maids Head.
Cooramook is worth a look but this can go to MAELSTROM, who's evidently thought capable of better.

11/2(+31%) | (3) Roger Rarebit 11/2, Not disgraced beaten 12l in a handicap chase over 2m4f at Haydock latest; up in trip; off a short-break; outside chance Ran well from the front on both outings this season but may need significant rain here. |
ROGER RAREBIT finished a well-held fourth at Haydock in January, but may appreciate this step back up in trip judged on his second at Warwick two starts ago. Tom Lacey's eight-year-old remains on a workable mark and can regain the winning thread. Super Citizen beat Whosmydaddy by just under a length at Carlisle and is expected to confirm that form to go close. Achille Des Rocs sports first-time cheekpieces and isn't out of it either.
Chasing debutant ACHILLE DES ROCS won twice over hurdles in late 2024 and has plenty of Irish pointing experience to call upon.

10/3(+56%) | (4) Sailor Batt 10/3, 13 Feb; 60,000gns Coulsty colt; half-brother to Jer Batt, very useful at 5f; dam useful at 5f at 2yo; top course jockey; probably need the experience 60,000gns yearling; siblings include a useful 5f performer for his connections. |
Trainer Karl Burke and Amo Racing look like a potent combination for an early season two-year-old contest like this, and the well-bred JAN STEEN is taken to get off the mark at the first time of asking. Related to a couple of useful sprinters, Bring It On is likely to know his job on debut, while the same can be said of Sailor Batt, who hails from a family that connections know well.
Judged on breeding and other factors, JAN STEEN is particularly interesting. Sailor Batt is the suggested second choice.

18/1(+0%) | (14) Zillow 18/1, Yard has won 4 of last 9 runnings of race; appeared not to stay well beaten in a maiden hurdle over 2m4f at Leopardstown latest; usually consistent; French flat winner; needs more Didn't appear to stay 2m4f last time; back to 2m for handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
16th (10) ![]() Kalix Delabarriere |
10/3(-33%) | (10) Kalix Delabarriere 10/3, Yard has won 4 of last 9 runnings of race; won a maiden hurdle at Naas by 1 1/2l last time; stable first string on jockey bookings; should show some improvement on handicap debut Progressive novice with likely more to offer on handicap debut; Townend's pick. |
A host of winners have come out of the maiden hurdle that KALIX DELABARRIERE won at Naas in February and he looks like a horse who could begin to move through the grades for Willie Mullins. There wouldn't be many deeper races to make a handicap debut in, but he has considerable upside and holds two Grade 1 entries for Punchestown. Nicky Henderson's Joyeuse was very impressive on her penultimate start in the William Hill Hurdle at Newbury. She faced a tough task in sixth behind Lossiemouth at Cheltenham, but has to be given plenty of respect here. Grand Annual hero Jazzy Matty could be very dangerous off a mark of 125, while Le Grand Peinture couldn't have won any more easily in Navan.
A chance is taken on SERIENMOND. He won going away on debut for Gavin Cromwell at Leopardstown and could well have more to offer

33/1(+34%) | (6) Fan Magnet 33/1, Below par down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m here most recent; generally out of form; not proven trip; returning from a break; bit to find Nothing so far over hurdles, including handicap debut here in December. |
MR ZEE opened his account over hurdles with a cosy victory at Taunton last month. Michael Blake's charge had a subsequent winner back in third, so another bold bid looks on the cards on the strength of that form. Pooroldmackley makes a quick reappearance having won over fences on heavy ground at Newton Abbot just three days ago. He makes less appeal reverting to hurdling, and handicap debutant Zarhanya could prove a bigger threat with a conditional rider taking 10lb off her back.
Michael Blake's MR ZEE is consistent, versatile ground-wise and a winner last time out. He's preferred over Pooroldmackley.

9/2(+10%) | (2) Corundum 9/2, Good form in novices last term; looks on fair opening mark; trainer in form; down in trip and may just need the run Closing novice second on the AW (9.5f) didn't amount to much; needs more on comeback. |

5th (5) ![]() La Fleur Petrus |
10/1(+29%) | (5) La Fleur Petrus 10/1, Probably needed race down the field in a handicap over 7f at Kempton on reappearance; in good form prior at the end of 2024; tongue-tie first time; up in trip; bit to prove Needs to settle better, going without the hood this time and upped in trip; bit to prove. |
A slow start might have made the difference to GINCIDENT's finishing position because he was beaten just three-quarters of a length into third at Wolverhampton on Saturday. James Owen's charge tackles an extra furlong, which should suit, and provided he can break on terms, he ought to go very close. Zariela wasn't disgraced on her reappearance at Lingfield and could step forward with a visor applied for the first time. Corundum heads the remainder.
A slow start over an easier 7f did for GINCIDENT (nap) on the AW at the weekend and he's selected to bounce back.

Point-to-point winner CHANONRY POINT made a strong impression when scoring comfortably on her bumper debut at Musselburgh and will have lots of improvement in her. Lucinda Russell's mare may only need to produce a similar performance in order to defy her 7lb penalty. Jimmy Hurdstrom improved from his first start under Rules to fill the runner-up spot at Wetherby and would be foolish to dismiss. Any market support behind newcomer Abbey Scope would be interesting.
Chanonry Point created a good visual impression at Musselburgh but preference is for Wetherby runner-up JIMMY HURDSTROM.

Despite displaying a shade of greenness when pulling hard, TEROOMM was always in control when scoring over this distance at Bath last time out, and a 7lb penalty for that success may not be enough to prevent him from going in again. A comfortable winner at Epsom last August, Parole D'oro is also a key player, as well as Four Fifty, who was a taking scorer first time out at Newcastle recently.
Having won tidily at Bath 18 days ago on his second start, TEROOMM is taken to follow up. Parole d'Oro is another useful prospect.

15th (6) ![]() Doing It In Style |
20/1(+0%) | (6) Doing It In Style 20/1, Third beaten 34l in a Mares bumper over 2m1f at Gowran Park debut; up in trip; off a short-break; bit to find Remote third on debut at Gowran, trainer also runs the more experienced Lau And Shaz. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) ![]() Blue Pearl Bay |
150/1(+25%) | (2) Blue Pearl Bay 150/1, 8 1/2l fourth in a Mares bumper over 2m3f at Limerick first-time out where poorly placed; bit to find Showed nothing in a bumper at Tipperary last year, pulled up in a maiden hurdle last month. |
ZANOOSH has an each-way chance at a price. Colm Murphy's charge was beaten a fair way into fourth in a maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse in January, but that form has been very well franked. Hello Jean was beaten less than a length into third on debut at Leopardstown and there should be plenty more to come from her considering she did her best work in the latter stages. She is sure to be popular. Derryville's second at Punchestown in December received a massive boost when the winner landed the Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival. Lau And Shaz has been mixing hurdling and bumpers and has shown enough to play a part.
It could pay to take a chance on debut point winner SOLDIERSTOWN. Her dam has a good record, and her rider claims a valuable 7lb

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) ![]() Monteria |
150/1(-355%) | (6) Monteria 150/1, Unseated in a handicap over 10f at Doncaster latest; not proven trip; plenty more needed Dual Flat winner but will need to run better than on his hurdling debut at Taunton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) ![]() You Moved On |
400/1(-167%) | (10) You Moved On 400/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle at Southwell latest; should come on for that; off a short-break; all to do Well beaten in a bumper for Olly Murphy and was pulled up at 300-1 on stable/hurdle debut. |
Doctor Love may well have finished closer than fourth at Ludlow if settling better in the early stages. He could be on the premises, but GOD OF FIRE is marginally preferred. A fair handicapper on the Flat with four wins to his name, the five-year-old made a promising debut over timber when runner-up at Plumpton and he should prove a more potent force with that experience under his belt. Jackstell makes most appeal of the remainder.
Jamie Snowden's JACKSTELL was strong in the market last time at Ascot and didn't run badly behind one who got loose on the lead.

4/1(-45%) | (3) Highland Olly 4/1, Raced freely beaten 1 1/2l off 66 over 7f at Redcar last time; should come on for that; up in trip; unproven on fast ground; place claims Stayed on for second over 7f at Redcar recently and 1m is well worth a go; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) ![]() Makalu |
9/1(-64%) | (5) Makalu 9/1, Ideally suited by trip when landing a handicap by 1/2l off 60 at Southwell last time; quick ground no issue; usually held up; in the mix Three wins on turf last May-July and back on the scoresheet on AW last month; solid claims. |
HIGHLAND OLLY returned to the fray with a determined effort over 7f at Redcar. He rallied late to grab second place that day, and the four-year-old will likely have more to offer attempting this longer distance for the first time. Makalu scored four times last season and resumed winning ways with a victory at Southwell on his reappearance. He can feature again, along with Jez Bomb.
Having bumped into a progressive rival when runner-up at Southwell last month, JEZ BOMB can go one better. Highland Olly is feared.

4th (5) ![]() Face D'music |
11/2(+45%) | (5) Face D'music 11/2, Below par fourth beaten 29l in a handicap chase here latest; goes well here; returning from a break; bit to find on these terms C&D winner in November and wind surgery could enable him to get back on track. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) ![]() Atlanta Brave |
4/1(+43%) | (4) Atlanta Brave 4/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase over 3m at Exeter latest; off a short-break; inconsistent of late; could do with some rain Dangerously well handicapped if he can turn a corner after wind surgery. |
The highly progressive CAMINO ROCIO will likely prove hard to stop. The winner of five of his last six starts, he recorded his most impressive success so far when scoring easily at Huntingdon last month and is taken to defy a 10lb hike. A Definite Getaway faces a more difficult task than when successful at Exeter, but he ran out a convincing winner on that occasion and is not out of it. Kempton scorer Climbing will appreciate conditions on his return from a break.
If a wind operation has had a positive effect on ATLANTA BRAVE then he is extremely well handicapped and the chance is worth taking.

10/1(-54%) | (9) Little Ted 10/1, Did not get a clear run beaten 4l off 58 at Newcastle last time; top course trainer; admirable veteran; on the premises Two wins at Musselburgh last summer; a player if at the top of his game on reappearance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) ![]() Crownthorpe |
14/1(+13%) | (5) Crownthorpe 14/1, Probably needed race down the field in a handicap at Doncaster most recent; generally out of form; may not relish fast ground; best watched at present Regressive 10yo who was well beaten at Doncaster last month when back from an absence. |
SWIFT SALIAN has eased to an attractive mark and is taken to build on his comeback fourth at Musselburgh. He ran out of steam inside the final furlong on that occasion, but should have come on plenty for the outing and could be bang there at the finish. Harlem Nights returns to the turf, having shown promise at Wolverhampton on his first start after a wind operation. He could have a say in the outcome, while Tees George is worth noting on his reappearance.
The returning cheekpieces and drop back in trip could be major positives for TEES GEORGE and he can make a winning return.

66/1(-32%) | (7) Clashmore Banter 66/1, Raced freely well beaten in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f here latest; generally out of form; not proven trip; more needed Limited hurdler who goes chasing from 7lb out of the weights and she's hard to recommend. |
EVERYONESACRITIC struck the woodwork when in search of his hat-trick over C&D last month. The winner has gone in again subsequently and Evan Williams' six-year-old looks set to mount a bold bid from an unchanged mark. Chestnut Pete was raised 7lb for a facile success over 2m here, but will be a player as long as he proves as effective over this longer trip. Greenrock Abbey is another to consider.
It was good to see Chestnut Pete finally get his head in front last time but EVERYONESACRITIC (nap) can deny his follow-up bid.

10th (4) ![]() Cavern Club |
5/2(-25%) | (4) Cavern Club 5/2, Landed a handicap hurdle by 1/2l off 114 over 2m1f at Doncaster last time; down in trip; off a short-break; good mark on hurdle form; leading claims with SDS booked Scored last month for the second time over hurdles and has to be in serious calculations. |
CAVERN CLUB has won twice over hurdles since joining James Owen's yard, including at Doncaster last month, and looks to have every chance off his current mark if translating that improved form back to this sphere. A winner over 1m2f, Perfectly Timed will likely stay this extra distance and can land a blow if doing so, while The Crafty Mole goes well here and could also be in the mix.
Cavern Club is a major threat after his hurdles win last time but PERFECTLY TIMED may make this first attempt at 1m4f a winning one.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) ![]() Tapley |
5/1(+64%) | (1) Tapley 5/1, Ran to form comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Aintree last time; generally out of form; enjoys making it; others appeal more Defied a higher mark earlier this season and he's been highly tried the last twice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) ![]() Magic Seven |
11/1(+8%) | (5) Magic Seven 11/1, Below par down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m1f at Cheltenham most recent; in good form prior; goes well here; returning from a break; bit more needed 4lb above last winning mark so needs to return from a break in top order. |

18/1(-80%) | (6) Cornish Storm 18/1, Slowly away beaten 3 1/2l off 52 over 1m6f at Bath last time; up in trip; consistent in this sphere; danger Maiden winner who returns to an easier track after finishing third at Exeter. |

|F| (9) ![]() Zhang Fei |
11/1(-144%) | (9) Zhang Fei 11/1, Well backed when landing a handicap by 7l off 101 at Fakenham last time; returning from a break; probably bit to come judged on flat form This looks tougher after 5lb rise and record after a break isn't overly encouraging. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) ![]() Clearance |
150/1(-436%) | (8) Clearance 150/1, Probably needed race comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m3f at Taunton last time; usually held up; down in trip; saves best for Newton Abbot A Newton Abbot specialist who was tailed off at Taunton after a lengthy break. |
Zhang Fei bolted up at Fakenham when last seen in December and he merits respect, as does Prolific Profile, who finished a creditable second at Kempton three weeks ago. Tapley has faced some stiff assignments so is not to be underestimated now afforded an ease in grade, but the vote goes to CORNISH STORM. Stuart Kittow's gelding has been in good form under both codes recently and, with scope for further progress, he could offer some value.
A very open race. BLACK HAWK EAGLE was a dual winner last season and, bar one blip, this campaign has been going okay.

This is competitive and only a tentative vote can go to NEYTIRI TE TSKAHA. Stuart Williams' filly signed off last season with a C&D win and has shaped with promise on two outings on the all-weather since returning in February. With race-fitness on her side and from a potentially handy draw, it would come as no surprise were she to take another step forward. Fuji Mountain, Balzarini and Against The Wind are all afforded an ease in class and must be given the utmost respect.
With Adrian Keatley's horses running well preference is for DO IT NOW, for whom a good case can be made on his Super Sprint fifth.

Point-to-point winner RACE TO BASE showed promise at Aintree on Boxing Day before progressing to fill the runner-up spot over this C&D. Nigel Twiston-Davies' charge sets a clear standard and any further improvement will make him difficult to beat. Nathaniel gelding No Panic makes some appeal on paper and market support would be noteworthy, while Emerald Time heads the remainder.
Race To Base could be hard to beat but CAPTAIN HUGO is bred to have a future and his yard's bumper horses have been going well.

40/1(+0%) | (8) Desert Dream 40/1, Probably needed race down the field in a handicap at Catterick most recent; may not relish fast ground; risky May have needed reappearance run but needs to be an entirely different proposition today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (2) ![]() Heroism |
12/1(-20%) | (2) Heroism 12/1, Did not get a clear run beaten 6l in a handicap over 6f at Southwell last time; should come on for that; not proven trip; others preferred His mark continues to fall but he's dropped down the weights for good reason. |
EMERALD ARMY kept on well to score over 6f here on his reappearance earlier this month. Just 3lb higher now and with a return to further seemingly in his favour, the son of Invincible Army is fancied to go in again. Heroism continues to tumble down the ratings and he can't be overlooked despite needing to improve on recent efforts. Captain Vallo ought to go close, and Without Delay is another to be interested in.
This can go to EMERALD ARMY (nap), who was progressive over 7f last autumn and goes back up in trip after his recent 6f win here.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
