1.5/1(+20%) | (2) Eight Mile 1.5/1, 5/2, run best excused when fifth of 11 in handicap at this course (7f, AW) 4 days ago, having hopeless task from position. Major player upped in trip.
2nd (4) (6/1 -118%) Doves Of Peace |
6/1(-118%) | (4) Doves Of Peace 6/1, Hooded for 1st time, never involved when seventh of 8 in maiden at this course (5f, AW, 125/1) 34 days ago. May do better upped in trip on his handicap debut.
3rd (6) (9/1 +68%) Deep Spirit |
9/1(+68%) | (6) Deep Spirit 9/1, 22/1, failed to improve for longer trip when seventh of 12 in handicap at this course (1m2f, AW) 28 days ago. Could still have more to offer back down in distance.
4th (7) (6/1 -33%) Empire Of The Sun |
6/1(-33%) | (7) Empire Of The Sun 6/1, Off 4 months (gelded), fifth of 7 in maiden at Chelmsford City (6f, 15/8) 34 days ago, never nearer. Interesting contender as he goes up in distance now handicapping.

14/1(-27%) | (3) Vaudevillian 14/1, Always behind when tenth of 12 at Wolverhampton on handicap debut (8.6f) 20 days ago. Has work to do. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
With the majority of the field having something to prove at present, the most solid proposition appears to be EIGHT MILE. George Scott's inmate has been shaping as if this step up to a mile could unlock some potential and he looks ready to capitalise. Twilight Kiss's stamina, on the other hand, appeared to be stretched by the 1m2f trip here earlier in the month and she is feared most now returned to this distance. Handicap debutant Doves Of Peace is worth noting in the market.
EIGHT MILE had placed on his first 2 starts of the year before having a hopeless task from his position last time, so he is taken to get back on track and open his account upped in trip. A pair of handicap debutants could be the main dangers, with Empire of The Sun feared most ahead of Doves of Peace.
He may have let his supporters down thus far but EIGHT MILE has more than enough ability to win a race of this nature.

1st (8) (1.88/1 -25%) Pougne Aminta |
1.88/1(-25%) | (8) Pougne Aminta 1.88/1, Irish point winner at the fourth attempt who showed more than in her sole bumper under a forceful rude when second in 7-runner mares novice at Southwell (20.4f, good) on her hurdle debut 51 days ago. She's unlikely to improve greatly, but a reproduction of that form will put her firmly in the mix.
2nd (3) (2/1 +40%) Bridget Breeze |
2/1(+40%) | (3) Bridget Breeze 2/1, From a good family and was the pick of the paddock before making a successful start in a Kelso bumper. Similar form in defeat next 2 starts and made an encouraging hurdling debut when third od 9 at Ayr (20.4f) 3 weeks ago. Likely to improve, especially now upped a bit further in trip.
3rd (7) (2.75/1 +66%) Ol'river Shine |
2.75/1(+66%) | (7) Ol'river Shine 2.75/1, Third in her sole point and offered something to work on sent hurdling when fourth in 10-runner maiden at Plumpton in January. Entitled to improve.
4th (5) (25/1 -79%) Heneryetta Bay |
25/1(-79%) | (5) Heneryetta Bay 25/1, Won her sole start in Irish points but showed disappointingly little switched to Rules in a maiden hurdle at Ffos Las last week.
5th (9) (6.5/1 +19%) Visite Officielle |
6.5/1(+19%) | (9) Visite Officielle 6.5/1, Fair stayer on Flat and ran to a similar level with her hurdling debut under her belt when third in a 19.7f novice here on Boxing Day. Refused to race at Hexham last time, however. Visor replaces cheekpieces.
6th (4) (28/1 -56%) Elmley Lovett |
28/1(-56%) | (4) Elmley Lovett 28/1, Elusive Pimpernel mare. Dam unraced half-sister to 2m hurdle winner/useful chaser (stays 23f) Deans Road. One to note in the betting.
7th (2) (200/1 -33%) Blooming Fortune |
200/1(-33%) | (2) Blooming Fortune 200/1, Maiden Irish pointer who has offered little in a course bumper/Sedgefield novice hurdle. Up in trip.
|PU| (6) (150/1 +0%) Not Your Choice |
150/1(+0%) | (6) Not Your Choice 150/1, Showed little in 2 bumpers/Hexham novice hurdle in late 2020. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
This can go the way of POUGNE AMINTA, who ran a cracker on her hurdles debut at Southwell and should be open to plenty more improvement on just her third start under Rules. Bridget Breeze ran a promising race when third at Ayr and she is likely to be thereabouts, along with Ol'river Shine, who was behind a couple of subsequent winners at Plumpton on her hurdles bow.
BRIDGET BREEZE is from a good family and seems sure to build on an encouraging hurdling debut at Ayr 3 weeks ago, especially now that her stamina is drawn out a bit further, so she's put forward as the selection. Pougne Aminta is sure to be in the thick of the action if reproducing her Southwell form, with Ol'River Shine another possible threat having shaped with some encouragement on her Rules debut at Plumpton in January.
Point winner POUGNE AMINTA was a promising second on last month's hurdle debut at Southwell and is taken to go one better.

1st (3) (20/1 -11%) Shot |
20/1(-11%) | (3) Shot 20/1, Shaped well enough when fifth at Kempton on debut for Tom Ward in January but was disappointing on 2 subsequent outings for that yard (weak in market both occasions). Another stable switch needs to spark resurgence.
2nd (4) (1.5/1 +20%) Kitbag |
1.5/1(+20%) | (4) Kitbag 1.5/1, C&D winner. Good second of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f, 18/5) 18 days ago, faring best of those ridden prominently. Remains well treated on best form and he should go well.
3rd (8) (3.6/1 -8%) Mucky Mulconry |
3.6/1(-8%) | (8) Mucky Mulconry 3.6/1, Shaped encouragingly on first run since leaving G. M. Lyons when sixth of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 20 days ago, not at all given hard time. Looks capable of winning from this sort of mark with step back up in trip also likely to suit,
4th (1) (2.25/1 +55%) Ghost Lights |
2.25/1(+55%) | (1) Ghost Lights 2.25/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 11/2, still didn't quite look the finished article when fourth of 9 in maiden at this course (7f, AW) 30 days ago. Respected now handicapping.
5th (2) (28/1 -133%) Victory House |
28/1(-133%) | (2) Victory House 28/1, Runner-up over 9.5f at Wolverhampton in December and filled same position in 3-runner event at Southwell the following month. Looked hard ride under this claimer last time, but possible that drop to sprint trip could see him to better effect.
6th (6) (9/1 +25%) Sajwaan |
9/1(+25%) | (6) Sajwaan 9/1, Bit below form fifth of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f, 10/1) 18 days ago, doing too much too soon. Has a couple of respectable efforts from this sort of mark to his name and he's not ruled out making the frame.
7th (7) (16/1 -45%) Lashes |
16/1(-45%) | (7) Lashes 16/1, MId-field at best across 8 starts for 3 different trainers in Ireland. Worth a market check with hood applied on debut for another new yard.
8th (5) (50/1 -25%) Penny Be |
50/1(-25%) | (5) Penny Be 50/1, Promise when fifth in minor event at Salisbury on debut but it's been backwards steps both starts since and others are preferred on her handicap bow. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
A 1lb rise in the handicap for KITBAG's runner-up effort at Wolverhampton earlier this month looks more than fair and Jack Channon's gelding is fancied to add a second C&D win to his name. Sumac wasn't disgraced when second in a classified stakes contest at Southwell recently and he should remain competitive on this return to handicap company, while Sajwaan could prove dangerous if allowed to dictate on the front end.
MUCKY MULCONRY caught the eye on his debut for Michael Wigham at Wolverhampton earlier in the month and he could well be one to keep on side at this low level, with the extra furlong here likely to suit. Charles Hills' handicap newcomer Ghost Lights heads the dangers ahead of Kitbag and Sumac.
After an eyecatching stable debut three weeks ago MUCKY MULCONRY can take a big step forward. Kitbag looks best of the rest.

1st (5) (14/1 +0%) Airshow |
14/1(+0%) | (5) Airshow 14/1, Course winner. Four wins from 17 runs last year. Took a step back in the right direction when sixth of 10 in handicap (18/1) at Kempton (6f) 23 days ago. Has finished well held on both previous starts over 7f though, so others appeal more with the usual cheekpieces left off.
2nd (2) (3.33/1 +63%) Barney's Bay |
3.33/1(+63%) | (2) Barney's Bay 3.33/1, Course winner. Twenty three runs since last win in 2021. 6/1, fourth of 7 in handicap at Newcastle (7.1f) 4 weeks ago. More required.
3rd (1) (3.33/1 -11%) Ring Of Gold |
3.33/1(-11%) | (1) Ring Of Gold 3.33/1, Latest win at Kempton in November. 9/4, shaped as if still in good form when third of 9 in handicap at Kempton (7f) 30 days ago, never nearer after forced to switch entering final 1f. Shortlist material.
4th (9) (16/1 +68%) Bayraat |
16/1(+68%) | (9) Bayraat 16/1, Lightly-raced maiden on Flat. 12/1, ran poorly when twelfth of 13 in handicap at Newcastle (7.1f) over 4 months ago. Others look stronger.
5th (6) (3/1 +45%) Big Narstie |
3/1(+45%) | (6) Big Narstie 3/1, C&D winner in February. Creditable sixth of 10 in handicap (14/1) at Lingfield (10f, AW) 23 days ago, carrying head awkwardly early in straight. Back down in trip. Cheekpieces back on and the booking of Murphy catches the eye.
6th (10) (11/1 -175%) Split Elevens |
11/1(-175%) | (10) Split Elevens 11/1, Unreliable type. Three wins from 12 runs last year. 8/1, career best when winning 9-runner handicap at this course (8.1f) 17 days ago, helped by being held up in strongly-run race. Needs things to drop right but certainly not out of things.
7th (4) (8/1 -60%) Saisons D'Or |
8/1(-60%) | (4) Saisons D'Or 8/1, 5/1, built on his reappearance promise to win 9-runner handicap at this C&D 15 days ago, rallying to lead close home after headed 1f out. Nudged up 3 lb and still looks well enough treated.
8th (7) (7/1 +13%) Rogue Star |
7/1(+13%) | (7) Rogue Star 7/1, Ran well when third of 11 in handicap at this C&D (9/1) 17 days ago. Not long with this yard and is interesting from this sort of mark.
9th (3) (28/1 -12%) Amber Dew |
28/1(-12%) | (3) Amber Dew 28/1, One win from 21 Flat runs. Too free when last of 6 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 14/1) 52 days ago. Hood on 1st time but tough to see her featuring.
10th (12) (66/1 -100%) Sweet Bertie |
66/1(-100%) | (12) Sweet Bertie 66/1, Hooded for 1st time, ran no better than on return when eighth of 9 in handicap at Lingfield (8f, AW, 22/1) 23 days ago. Best watched.
11th (11) (66/1 -136%) Caesar Nero |
66/1(-136%) | (11) Caesar Nero 66/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Seemed unsuited by the track when fifth of 6 in minor event at Brighton (8f, good, 6/1). Off 10 months. First run for yard after leaving Charles Hills (2,000 gns) and has been gelded ahead of this handicap debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Saisons D'Or battled on gamely to land the spoils here last time out, but a wide draw isn't ideal and a chance can be taken on BIG NARSTIE. Michael Appleby's gelding is well treated judged on past exploits and he should appreciate the return to 7f having won over C&D on his last attempt at the trip, while the booking of Oisin Murphy would appear to signal a statement of intent. Ring Of Gold remains in good form and he should not be underestimated.
Cases can be made for several but the most persuasive is for RING OF GOLD, who wasn't ideally placed when a staying-on third at Kempton earlier this month and, reunited with usual pilot Joanna Mason, he can notch career victory number 4. Both Saisons d'Or and Split Elevens were back to winning ways at this track recently, so they head up the dangers, with Rogue Star rounding off the shortlist.
The consistent Ring Of Gold should go well again but this might fall ideally for SPLIT ELEVENS, who arrives in top form.

1st (4) (2.5/1 +50%) Beat The Edge |
2.5/1(+50%) | (4) Beat The Edge 2.5/1, Plenty of placed efforts this season but this long-standing maiden is not the most straightforward and needs to shrug off a poor run at Hexham.
2nd (2) (2.25/1 +59%) Patagonia |
2.25/1(+59%) | (2) Patagonia 2.25/1, Showed ability over hurdles and far from disgraced when fourth of 4 in handicap chase at Newcastle (20.1f, good, 2/1) on debut over fences in November (reportedly bled). Since joined new yard and remains open to progress in this sphere.
3rd (1) (2.5/1 -150%) Somewhat Cloudy |
2.5/1(-150%) | (1) Somewhat Cloudy 2.5/1, In good form over hurdles prior to making a winning chase bow at Market Rasen on debut over fences 19 days ago by 3 lengths from Howyouplaythegame. Likely to progress in this sphere given the way she travelled/jumped that day.
4th (6) (28/1 +72%) Robins Field |
28/1(+72%) | (6) Robins Field 28/1, No worthwhile form.
5th (3) (3.6/1 -20%) Getaway Jewel |
3.6/1(-20%) | (3) Getaway Jewel 3.6/1, Landed a Market Rasen double in July and latest third at Catterick was a good effort. This race looks weaker, so big shout eased 1 lb. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
A taking winner on his chase debut at Market Rasen earlier in the month, there should be plenty more improvement forthcoming from SOMEWHAT CLOUDY as she looks to follow up off a 5lb higher mark. Donald McCain's mare may not be inconvenienced by the drop in trip and gets the vote ahead of Beat The Edge, who can bounce back from his latest effort, and Getaway Jewel, who has dropped down 1lb below his last winning mark.
GETAWAY JEWEL has plenty of experience for a novice and looks ready to strike again having dipped below his last winning mark. Somewhat Cloudy and Howyouplaythegame made a positive start over fences when 1-2 at Market Rasen so are the obvious threats.
The Donald McCain-trained SOMEWHAT CLOUDY created a good impression when winning by 3l at Market Rasen on her recent chase debut.

8.5/1(-21%) | (2) Dark Design 8.5/1, 4/1, not discredited when fourth of 11 in handicap at Chelmsford City (6f) 20 days ago. Can give his running again.

8.5/1(+6%) | (9) Cappananty Con 8.5/1, 3-time C&D winner. Thirty four runs since last win in 2021. Not seen to best effect when fourth of 8 in handicap (4/1) at this C&D (AW) 24 days ago, denied clear run final 1f. Lurks on a dangerous mark.

18/1(-350%) | (4) Toplight 18/1, Continued run of good form when winning 7-runner handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f, 5/6) 21 days ago by length from Autumn Flight. Not taken lightly in his current mood.

3.5/1(+56%) | (1) Champagne Supanova 3.5/1, C&D winner. Left poorly placed when third of 7 in handicap at this course (7f, AW, 28/1) 79 days ago. Blinkers back on and is 2 lb below his last winning mark. Task is to build on his latest effort.
11th (3) (3.5/1 +7%) My Boy Jack |
3.5/1(+7%) | (3) My Boy Jack 3.5/1, In first-time blinkers, off the mark at Wolverhampton in February. Again ran well when second of 9 in handicap at Southwell (6.1f, 7/2) 17 days ago. Leading contender.
12th (6) (11/1 -10%) Real Estate |
11/1(-10%) | (6) Real Estate 11/1, 3-time C&D winner, including in January. 28/1, ran well when second of 11 in handicap at Chelmsford City (6f) 20 days ago, nearest finish having been drawn widest. Merits consideration back here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Toplight regained the winning thread over 5f at Wolverhampton a few weeks ago and clearly arrives in fine fettle. Nevertheless, he hasn't convinced over this distance of 6f in the past and may prove worth taking on. REAL ESTATE found himself with too much to do when a never-nearer second at Chelmsford recently and makes most appeal now returned to the C&D of his last success. Dark Design and Champagne Supanova also merit consideration.
With blinkers applied, MY BOY JACK has bounced back to his best on his last 2 starts, getting off the mark at Wolverhampton before running at least as well when runner-up at Southwell. The 4-y-o can score again in his current form, though Viewfromthestars is respected despite his wide draw. Toplight completes the shortlist.
Plenty of possibles in an open sprint. REAL ESTATE is marginally preferred to Dark Design.

It looks best to side with the in-form KISS MY FACE, who kept on strongly to land a similar contest at Newcastle two weeks ago. The gelded son of Nathaniel remains unexposed in this sphere and is open to further progress, so a 5lb rise could prove lenient. Alchemystique bumped into a progressive rival when finishing a good second on her return and she ought to hold every chance if running to a similar level. Others to note include Buford and Bird For Life.
KISS MY FACE didn't need to improve to get off the mark in this sphere at Newcastle a fortnight ago and, given his current mood, a 5 lb rise may not be enough to prevent the follow up. He gets the nod ahead of Alchemystique, who ran well back on the Flat returning from 9 months off when second at Newcastle earlier this month. King Charles and Chef de Troupe can fight out minor honours.
The most likely winner is KISS MY FACE (nap), who has not seen much Flat action but won on Tapeta last time.

0.3/1(+9%) | (1) Cruz Control 0.3/1, Fairly useful in bumpers (a winner on second start) and made the perfect start in this sphere with a stylish victory at Newcastle (16.9f, soft) on Boxing Day. 7.5/1(-25%) | (3) God's Own Getaway 7.5/1, Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser Indian Hawk. Stepped up on low-key debut effort despite still looking rough around the edges when midfield in 14-runner C&D bumper in February and interesting what the market makes of him now sent hurdling.

33/1(+34%) | (5) Montmartin 33/1, £75,000 3-y-o, Montmartre gelding. Brother to French 17f hurdle winner Fannybis. 5th (10) (25/1 +24%) Delgany Dreamer |

CRUZ CONTROL may have not run up to scratch when last seen in Grade 2 company at Cheltenham in January, but this represents a steep drop in grade as the six-year-old looks to bounce back to the form that saw him win easily at Newcastle on his hurdles debut. Thistlebuffs may have been beaten a long way at Kelso, but the form of that race has worked out well and must enter calculations alongside newcomer Nab Wood.
An impressive winner on hurdles debut at Newcastle in December, CRUZ CONTROL jumped none too fluently and ultimately never figured at Grade 2 level at Cheltenham a month later. However, the return to calmer waters rates an obvious plus and he ought to play a lead role despite conceding weight all round. Thistlebuffs, on the back of his encouraging debut effort at Kelso, newcomer Nab Wood and God's Own Getaway head up the dangers.
This looks an ideal opportunity for CRUZ CONTROL to return to winning ways. Thistlebuffs could be best of the rest.

SHARP POWER bumped into a couple of nice prospects when finishing a good third at Southwell earlier this month. The son of Churchill kept on well over 6f that occasion and he should open his account, with improvement likely at this longer trip. Andrew Balding's string often improve for their initial racecourse experience and that could be the case with Sceptic, who was far from disgraced on his debut at Newmarket last October. Sugar Hill makes plenty of appeal on paper and is worth monitoring in the betting ahead of his first start.
SCEPTIC was popular in the betting when fourth in a Newmarket maiden and he could take a big step forward 154 days on with the benefit of that experience, so he's marginally preferred to Sharp Power, who has the best form on show. Newcomer Sugar Hill also makes plenty of appeal on paper.
Sharp Power is a big threat upped to 7f but SCEPTIC shaped well in a Newmarket novice on his one run last season and gets the nod.

66/1(-65%) | (9) Neverbatsaneyelid 66/1, Last of 10 in handicap (50/1) at Newcastle (8f) 22 days ago, weakening over 2f out. Needs to step up if she's to play a part here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
NIVELLE'S MAGIC defied odds of 150/1 to finish a close-up fourth on her handicap/stable debut at Lingfield following an eight-month absence, and she can shed the maiden tag with any further improvement. Tom Tulliver has been thriving in classified contests lately and he must be respected back in a handicap. Kodebreaker, who continues to run well in defeat, is fancied to hit the frame.
A number in with a shout including KODEBREAKER who has been acquitting himself with credit from this sort of mark in recent months and this is arguably a shade less demanding than the competition he has faced of late. Tom Tulliver comes here in good order and is feared, along with Urban Road and the returning Doomsday.
In a trappy handicap in which it's hard to be sure where the pace is coming from, the vote goes to the lightly raced NIVELLE'S MAGIC.

1st (4) (7.5/1 -50%) Albert's Back |
7.5/1(-50%) | (4) Albert's Back 7.5/1, Can boast a good Wetherby record, finding only one too good back here on reappearance in October. Disappointing both starts since 4 months apart but another who could easily revive from a falling mark back at this venue.
2nd (3) (3.5/1 +22%) Hardy Du Seuil |
3.5/1(+22%) | (3) Hardy Du Seuil 3.5/1, Took well to chasing for his current yard last season, winning twice, and added a hurdles success to his tally at Sandown in January. Turned in a laboured effort back that that venue 3 weeks ago but cheekpieces may help him travel with a bit more zest.
3rd (2) (20/1 -122%) Fransham |
20/1(-122%) | (2) Fransham 20/1, Multiple-C&D winner who went close to adding to his tally on his reappearance in October. Hasn't reproduced that form since but he's now down to an attractive mark if he can revive.
4th (10) (7.5/1 +6%) Pyramid Place |
7.5/1(+6%) | (10) Pyramid Place 7.5/1, Took advantage of reduced mark to score here (19.7f) last month. Ran at least as well in defeat when third in a similar event next time and way he shaped at Fontwell latest suggests he's well worth another go at 2m.
5th (9) (6.5/1 +46%) Dancewiththewind |
6.5/1(+46%) | (9) Dancewiththewind 6.5/1, Showed he retains all his ability on third outing back from a long absence when winning C&D handicap on Boxing Day. 6th (8) (10/1 +55%) Uhtred |
10/1(+55%) | (8) Uhtred 10/1, Useful hurdler who ended time with Joseph O'Brien in good heart, successful in 19.3f beginners chase at Downpatrick in August. Hasn't made much of an impact for present connections, though.
7th (6) (3/1 -20%) Dare To Shout |
3/1(-20%) | (6) Dare To Shout 3/1, Winning pointer who built on hurdling debut promise when quickening clear from a previous winner at Kelso in February. 8th (1) (50/1 -25%) Celestial Horizon |
50/1(-25%) | (1) Celestial Horizon 50/1, Doubled hurdles tally in fine style at Kilbeggan (17f) in May but not in anything like the same form when pulled up next 3 starts for Joseph O'Brien during the summer. Didn't do any better on stable debut but seemed to show a lot more at this venue 19.7f last month. Task is to now build on that.
9th (7) (25/1 -108%) Sizing Pottsie |
25/1(-108%) | (7) Sizing Pottsie 25/1, Smart chaser for Jessica Harrington last season but long way below that level for this yard so big leap of faith required, even from lower hurdles mark.
|U| (5) (8/1 -7%) Front View |
8/1(-7%) | (5) Front View 8/1, Useful hurdler/chaser in Ireland for Joseph O'Brien but absent for nearly 2 years. Understandably given a considerate ride on stable debut at Cheltenham in January but unable to build on that here the following month. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Dancewiththewind is interesting dropping back in distance with Ryan Mania returning to the saddle, but Pyramid Place is higher on the shortlist having had both Celestial Horizon (sixth) and Front View (last) in behind him when he was a good third on his penulitmate start here. However, preference is for the class-dropping HARDY DU SEUIL, who is likely to find this is much more to his liking, after struggling in Sandown's Imperial Cup last time out, and first-time cheekpieces further aid his claims.
DARE TO SHOUT needs to improve to complete the hat-trick switched to handicap company but that is very much on the cards judged on the excellent impression he's created so far. Fransham and Albert's Back can count 7 C&D wins between them and they head the opposition.
Dare To Shout is respected but HARDY DU SEUIL has very solid claims if judged on his Sandown win two starts ago.

4th (5) (0.8/1 +33%) Cantora |
0.8/1(+33%) | (5) Cantora 0.8/1, Promising sort. Two wins from 5 runs last year. 8/11, career best when winning 10-runner nursery at Redcar (8f, heavy), slowly away. Off 150 days. Up in trip. Open to further improvement and should take the beating. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
George Boughey has enjoyed a fairly productive start to the campaign and it would be no surprise were Cantora to land her hat-trick following a 150-day absence. However, preference is for RUBINA ROSE, who took a significant step forward when winning over an extended 1m1f at Wolverhampton last month and a further step up in trip shouldn't be an issue for the lightly-raced daughter of Nathaniel. Recent Chelmsford scorer Star From Afarhh can chase them home.
CANTORA won both her outings in nurseries last year and promises to be well suited by this longer trip, so she's preferred to Rubina Rose, who is also on the up. Star From Afarhh is the clear pick of the remaining trio.
The three-year-olds CANTORA and Rubina Rose may well have too much potential for their older rivals.

16/1(-60%) | (7) Arlo's Sunshine 16/1, Won twice over 7f here for Robert Eddery last March. Not seen since summer but on a good mark if new yard has him primed after his break. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
A 3lb rise for Written Broadcast's victory at Wolverhampton is unlikely to prevent another bold bid. Ollie Pears' inmate, however, is yet to triumph over a mile so C&D winner INEXPLICABLE shades the vote. The son of Dark Angel returned to form when runner-up at Wolverhampton on Saturday and is turned out quickly before his revised mark kicks in. Crazy Spin should remain competitive on this return to handicap company and is another who warrants consideration.
WRITTEN BROADCAST is in his best form for a couple of years and can defy the handicapper again kept to a 0-55. Inexplicable goes off the same mark as when runner-up at Wolverhampton last week and is second choice. Arlo's Sunshine is also handicapped to go close if his new stable has him ready to roll after 7 months off.
The return to 1m won't hurt WRITTEN BROADCAST, having twice chased home a progressive rival over C&D this year.

0.8/1(+73%) | (1) Feivel 0.8/1, Fairly useful hurdler/chaser who made a winning start for the Stuart Edmunds yard in a C&D handicap last month. Bettered that form when second in a Sandown Class 3 20 days ago and a 2 lb nudge is unlikely to prevent another prominent showing.
|PU| (2) (16/1 -113%) Shetland Bus |
16/1(-113%) | (2) Shetland Bus 16/1, It all clikcked for him over fences with cheekpieces added in the autumn, winning at Stratford and Fakenham. Another 5 lb higher now bidding for the hat-trick but still much respected if ready to roll after his break. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
East Street (fourth) wasn't quite at his best here last month and it would come as no surprise to see him bounce back to give FEIVEL (winner) more of a test today. However, the latter showed a touch of quality under pressure before eventually asserting to emerge as a comfortable winner on the day. The eight-year-old wasn't disgraced when second in a higher grade at Sandown and he is taken to resume winning ways. Shetland Bus and Lounge Lizard complete the shortlist.
FEIVEL bumped into an improving sort at Sandown last time and is taken to go one better than last time back at the scene of his win last month. Lounge Lizard will be a danger if the blinkers work as well a second time, while East Street ran poorly behind the selection here last time but will have a say if back to the form he showed when just edged out over C&D prior to that.
Topweight FEIVEL (nap) has been in fine form since joining Stuart Edmunds and can add to last month's C&D win.

20/1(+9%) | (3) Lunar Shadow 20/1, C&D winner. Dual hurdles scorer in the summer was possibly amiss when pulled up in handicap hurdle at Worcester (20f, good to soft) last time. Market good guide on return from 6-month absence.

7.5/1(-7%) | (5) Hooves Like Jagger 7.5/1, Twelve runs since last win in 2022. 6/1, creditable third of 7 in handicap at Wolverhampton (16.6f) 18 days ago. Consistent sort should give another good account down in trip.
5th (9) (11/1 -10%) Hill Station |
11/1(-10%) | (9) Hill Station 11/1, Again ran creditably when 1½ lengths second of 5 to Abstract in handicap at this C&D (AW) 23 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Gary Moore. Place claims.
6th (7) (20/1 +9%) Abstract |
20/1(+9%) | (7) Abstract 20/1, Sole career win came over C&D in March. Found life tougher under a penalty when fifth of 7 in handicap at Wolverhampton (12.2f) 14 days ago. Others make more appeal.
7th (6) (14/1 +36%) Broad Appeal |
14/1(+36%) | (6) Broad Appeal 14/1, Fourteen runs since last win in 2020. Bit below form fifth of 10 in handicap at Southwell (12.1f, 12/1) 72 days ago. Needs a couple of these to falter. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
There has been no stopping the Gary Moore-trained SAUSALITO, who arrives here on a six-timer following a facile success over C&D earlier this month. He has to shoulder a 5lb penalty for that win, but that may not be enough to hold him back here. Hooves Like Jagger could benefit from a shorter stamina test having lost second inside the final furlong over an extended 2m last time out and is feared ahead of Abstract.
SAUSALITO is on a real roll at present and a 5 lb penalty shouldn't be enough to stop him extending his winning sequence to six. Anisoptera didn't give her running behind the selection last time but her overall profile is positive for this type of event, whilst Hooves Like Jagger is a reliable sort and can also make the placings.
The addition of a visor has been revelatory for SAUSALITO (nap) and Gary Moore's thriving 4yo can make it six wins on the bounce.

DEMANDRIVINGDOUVAN has some smart bumper form in the book, most notably when finishing second in behind Supreme winner Marine Nationale. He was slightly underwhelming when a beaten favourite on his hurdling debut, but the winner went on to finish third in the Albert Bartlett. He's entitled to improve for the experience and it's unlikely he'll bump into anything of that calibre here. Free Flowing should go well having hit the crossbar at Thurles, as should Arthor, who has experience on his side. Any market support should be noted for Applicationofcash ahead of his Rules debut.
FREE FLOWING displayed plenty of ability when runner-up in a Thurles maiden on hurdles debut recently and with progress anticipated, including now tackling this longer trip, he gets the nod to build on that and go one place better. Demandrivingdouvan rates a big threat though judged on his exploits for Gordon Elliott, with Ik's Man completing the shortlist.
A fine recent comeback run at Thurles when a 50-1 shot puts FREE FLOWING to the forefront here, although facing a sterner stamina test

33/1(-83%) | (7) Wonderful World 33/1, Dual winner at 2. His 3-y-o campaign was nothing to write home about but his mark has a come down as a result so he might make more of an impact this time round.

33/1(-18%) | (4) Jojo Rabbit 33/1, Eighth of 9 in handicap at Newcastle (5f, 22/1) 29 days ago. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
ANGLE LAND has really found her stride since late December, winning three of her last four appearances, and a 4lb rise for her recent success at Chelmsford may not be enough to derail her progress. Mr Beaufort struck on his return from a 104-day absence at Goodwood in September and having won on his sole start on the all-weather, is feared most now under the tutelage of David O'Meara. C&D winner Khabib is on a handy mark and completes the shortlist.
MR BEAUFORT has had only 6 starts so there should be more to come this year and it might be worth chancing his fitness on this first outing for the excellent David O'Meara yard. Bert Kibbler and the thriving Angle Land were 1-2 in a similarly competitive C&D handicap 3 weeks ago and rate obvious threats. The booking of Oisin Murphy for Spring Is Sprung takes the eye and he'd come into it if the betting vibes are strong on his first outing for the Paul Midgley stable.
The suggestion is KHABIB, who was denied a clear run just at the wrong time on his latest outing and is very well suited by this C&D.

9/1(-6%) | (5) Chris Cool 9/1, Made a successful debut over hurdles at Bangor in 2021 and clearly learnt plenty from chasing debut to match that form when runner-up at this track (24.2f, good) in January. Disappointing last time but too soon to write off.
|PU| (1) (7.5/1 -200%) Rostello |
7.5/1(-200%) | (1) Rostello 7.5/1, Down in grade/back to form when scoring unchallenged in 9-runner handicap at Southwell last time. Should go well again under a penalty. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
ROSTELLO impressed despite jumping to the left when getting back to winning ways at Southwell last week and he is taken to follow up turned out quickly under a 7lb penalty. No Regrets is unexposed at the trip and rates as a possible improver in first-time cheekpieces, while Where's Hector also has the potential to step forward now faced with a sterner test of stamina. Ballynagran has won over C&D in the past and is another that could enter calculations.
ROSTELLO bounced back in no uncertain terms when scoring at Southwell 11 days ago and he's expected to go well again. Point winner Divine Inspiration could prove a different proposition now switched to chasing, so he's regarded as a danger along with the well treated No Regrets.
Having been well suited by the return to a left-handed track when winning by 14l at Southwell recently, ROSTELLO can defy a penalty.

9th (9) (22/1 -57%) Storm Melody |
22/1(-57%) | (9) Storm Melody 22/1, 3-time C&D winner. 8/1, won 8-runner handicap at this C&D (AW) 27 days ago. One to consider. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
A comfortable winner over C&D earlier this month, STORM MELODY can have another big say in proceedings now rated 3lb higher for that success and the gelded son of Royal Applause should not be taken lightly. Pablo Del Pueblo is likely to enter the reckoning, despite having to shoulder top-weight, while Lynns Boy and Bezzas Lad add further spice to the mix.
MAN ON A MISSION has been thriving for a while and did well in the circumstances when third at Southwell last time, so a chance is taken on him returned to the track that suits him well. Pablo Del Pueblo beat the selection here last time and is an obvious danger, while Lynns Boy can't be ruled out.
Pablo Del Pueblo might not get his own way up front and perhaps MAN ON A MISSION can pick up the pieces if a pace duel ensues.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Down in class, this looks a gilt-edged opportunity for the Henry De Bromhead-trained MUSIC OF TARA to open her account, having filled the runner-up spot in handicap company at Navan last time out. Her main danger might come in the form of Roccos Inspiration, who lost nothing in defeat when runner-up to an odds-on favourite at Clonmel last month. Desert Heather and Emily Roebling are both capable of throwing down a stern challenge, while Silent Approach, who finished a staying-on second over 2m at Gowran, could find improvement up in trip.
MUSIC OF TARA would have won had she jumped better in the straight at Navan and is fancied to make amends. Emily Roebling and Desert Heather can place again.
Back in maiden company this looks a good opportunity for MUSIC OF TARA providing she avoids serious error

11th (3) (4/1 +11%) King Francis |
4/1(+11%) | (3) King Francis 4/1, Won on his 2022 reappearance and was competitive off higher marks last year so he's feasibly treated if primed for his first run of the season again. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
The application of cheekpieces has unlocked some improvement in First Charge and a 4lb rise for his win at Wolverhampton last month is unlikely to prevent another bold bid. Slight preference, however, is for JUBILEE GIRL, who was collared close home over an extended 2m at this circuit and the combination of a drop in distance with first-time headgear may help Karl Burke's consistent filly regain the winning thread. Prince Abu makes most appeal of the remaining opposition.
FIRST CHARGE snapped a losing run with Oisin Murphy taking over in the saddle last time and Laurence Bellman's 6-y-o might be able to follow up as he has won off this mark before. Jubilee Girl has thrived lately and ought to give another good account, while King Francis is back on a workable mark and won on his reappearance last year.
Preference is for FIRST CHARGE, just ahead of serious rivals Jubilee Girl and Notimeforanother.

300/1(-20%) | (1) Bubbles'n'troubles 300/1, 100/1, last of 12 in bumper at Newcastle (16.2f, good to soft) on NH debut. Off 12 months with work to do. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
AMARBELLE'S DREAM will need to put her Warwick disappointment behind her, but Fergal O'Brien's filly would hold leading claims judged on her debut second here in December and a first-time tongue tie may help the four-year-old get back on track. Storm Spirit was only just denied when promoted to second on her racecourse bow at Newcastle last month and is feared most, while any market support for unraced duo Perfect Poli and Miss Goldfire should be heeded.
The market should reveal plenty here but SMURFETTE showed up really well when fifth on her Warwick debut and can return from a break in style. Amarbelle's Dream is worth another chance to confirm her debut promise so could emerge as the chief threat to Dan Skelton's Blue Bresil mare. Newcomers Miss Goldfire and Unsinkable Molly B are two more who need factoring into an open-looking bumper.
The Dan Skelton-trained SMURFETTE was a promising fifth of 18 on her debut at Warwick last November and gets the nod.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
It took a while for Pure Sirloin to get the hang of things but he's started this year in better form and hinted that he's a stayer in the making with a respectable third in a Leopardstown handicap, which was his first attempt at this trip. There is likely to be more to come and he is taken seriously, but JUMPING JET stayed on well to win over 2m4f at the same course a day earlier and she edges preference now she steps up in distance. Hardy Bloke is dropped in class and also warrants respect.
Not much to choose between the sextet but PURE SIRLOIN is the progressive one so could be the way to go. Hardy Bloke has improved for the step up to 3m and is next best.
This is a big drop in class for HARDY BLOKE (nap) and a reproduction of either of his last two runs should suffice

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
PALLAS LORD has not been beaten far on each of his last two starts over C&D and this looks like as good an opportunity as any to regain the winning thread. The five-year-old gets the vote ahead of Captain St Lucifer, who deserves a change in luck having finished runner-up on his last three starts at Wolverhampton. Soaring Star has dropped down to a very workable mark and cannot be ruled out either.
PALLAS LORD can boast a course win and is able to race off the same mark as when a good recent C&D second so looks the way to go. Captain St Lucifer's record stands at 1-27 but he is still feared most on the back of his good Wolverhampton second, with course-scorer Bobby Shaftoe another who can have a say in an open handicap.
Ahead of the assessor and holding solid claims on his recent course form, PALLAS LORD (nap) looks poised to regain the winning thread.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Forge Valley Lad failed to defy a 3lb raised mark, settling for second when on a hat-trick over 1m2f at Lingfield. He could easily bounce back but preference lies instead with CITIZEN GENERAL, who is on a three-timer of his own. Ed Dunlop's charge kept on well to score by almost four lengths over an extended 1m4f at Newcastle when last seen in October and can pick up where he left off. Skye Breeze is another to bear in mind.
DOWN TO THE KID is compiling an excellent record at Southwell and having shaped as though in top form at Wolverhampton 3 weeks ago, he has a lot going for him. The dangers are headed by Forge Valley Lad and Skye Breeze.
Competitive. The vote goes to CITIZEN GENERAL, despite his layoff, because he looked so firmly on the upgrade last July-October.

The market should prove informative given the majority of these rivals are making their debuts, with DUNDRUM given a tentative vote. The selection's dam was a two-year-old winner over 6f and he makes slightly more appeal on his breeding than his rivals. Lightening Army, a son of Solder's Call, merits consideration, despite his trainer not having a two-year-old winner on the all-weather since 2016. Ger Lyons has no problems on that front in recent times and Dandy Lichious, therefore, may prove the biggest threat.
Bearing in mind LIGHTENING ARMY's connections, he's likely to be tuned up for his debut, so he gets the nod ahead of Dandy Lichious, who represents an excellent stable. Guns And Flowers, a stablemate of the selection, showed something at the Curragh on debut and his experience will obviously come in useful
LIGHTENING ARMY is a likely type on breeding and is the choice for a yard that has their juveniles primed.

MYLESTOWN UPPER showed marked improvement to land a beginners chase at Thurles on his most recent outing and he is taken to cope with the burden of top weight on his handicap debut. Chief amongst the opposition is Mercury Lane, who drops in distance after fending off one of the selection's stablemates at Wexford and he can go well again if the trip isn't an issue. Baldur's Gate is lightly raced under Rules and also rates as a serious threat after a near-miss in a handicap chase at Thurles.
BRIDESWELL LAD has the race at his mercy when unseating the rider at the last in novice company 4 weeks ago. He was set to show much-improved form in the process so now looks well treated back in a handicap. Mercury Lane landed a gamble last time, while Mylestown Upper wasted no time surpassing his hurdles form switced to fences and he remains of interest.
Rachael Blackmore got a good tune out of BALDUR'S GATE when he was second at Thurles and the unexposed bottom weight can go one better

RHYTHM N HOOVES must hold every chance if building on a strong runner-up effort on debut at Wolverhampton. Plenty of improvement can be expected on the back of that and he is taken to see off Jack Of Clubs, who should be well suited by dropping back in trip, and Oneforsue, who hasn't been seen since October. Beau Roc and One Of Our Own are capable of being in the mix as well.
ONEFORSUE possesses much the best form on offer so is fancied to make a winning start for Paul Midgley at the chief expense of Rhythm N Hooves, who can build on his promising debut second at Wolverhampton. Beau Roc and Jack of Clubs also look to have better days ahead of them and need factoring into an intriguing novice.
A tight race on the figures but the runner who looks open to the most progress is RHYTHM N HOOVES. Second choice is Beau Roc.

Only narrowly denied over C&D earlier this month, FIGHTING POET is fancied to go one better. The application of cheekpieces seemed to have the desired effect and he can break his duck with the headgear retained. Breguet Boy justified favouritism in a Newcastle classified event and should not be underestimated on his return to handicapping. King Athelstan completes the shortlist.
It hasn't taken long for BREGUET BOY to find his form back with Keith Dalgleish, and given he retains plenty of handicap scope on old form, he's a very persuasive candidate. King Athelstan and Fighting Poet head the opposition.
With a bit to prove on the Flat stamina of Breguet Boy, preference is for FIGHTING POET who battled on well over C&D last time.

ROCKY DREAMS has been far from disgraced in handicap company of late and looks to be favourably treated by the terms in this claiming race. James McCauley's inmate won't be inconvenienced by the return to 7f and rates as the one to beat. His biggest threat appears to be ex-stablemate Inflection Point, who has been shaping as if the return to this longer distance would suit. Yester may find this smaller field easier to dictate and, despite only finishing ninth over C&D last week, he shouldn't be underestimated.
ROCKY DREAMS is always to be feared round here and rates the pick of the weights too so looks the way to go. Yester is another weighted to have a say if on his A-game, with Hypernova appealing as the pick of the rest for place purposes.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
BIG DEBATES appeared to hold every chance when falling late on at Gowran Park earlier in the month, and compensation could await in these calmer waters. Darver Star found the Hatton's Grace at Fairyhouse beyond him in December and is better judged on his hat-trick of wins over hurdles prior to that defeat. The handicapper has given Gavin Cromwell's 2020 Champion Hurdle third some respite over fences and he isn't taken lightly. Impact Factor is worth a check in the market on this return from a long absence.
GLAMORGAN DUKE failed to cut much ice in the Ultima at the recent Cheltenham Festival but should find life easier in these calmer waters and he's well treated on the form he showed when second in a competitive race at the Dublin Racing Festival. Impact Factor hasn't been seen for over 2 years but that success came after a lay-off so it would be no surprise were new trainer Henry de Bromhead to have him primed for a big run.
This is tricky but maybe R'EVELYN PLEASURE, tried for the first time in blinkers, can repeat last year's success off the same mark

This can go the way of OUR ABSENT FRIENDS, who disappointed at Chelmsford last time out but was an easy winner over C&D on his penultimate start. The son of Camacho remains unexposed and should have too much for course specialist Kraken Power and Golden Rainbow, who should improve on his first run for new connections. Others to note include Glory Hallelujah, Murbih and Sir Benedict.
KRAKEN POWER is enjoying an excellent 2023 and is taken to bag a third C&D success on the back of his good recent second here. Murbih posted a career best when going in at Wolverhampton only three days ago and rates a big threat under a 5 lb penalty, while Golden Rainbow appeals as the pick of Paul Midgley's trio and can claim minor honours.
In-form KRAKEN POWER holds particularly solid claims. Our Absent Friends is feared most.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
VEE DANCER returned from a 128-day break to win a shade comfortably over C&D last month and there is no reason to suggest why he can't continue on an upward curve. Fellow C&D winner Mephisto was only just behind him in second and will be dangerous again, while Sea Oscar has done well since joining the Joseph O'Brien stable and may well improve for the step up in trip. Similar comments apply to Curious Bride as she returns to this distance, while Fenomeno and Foreign Policy remain unexposed.
VEE DANCER proved well suited by the step up in trip when scoring over C&D last time and still looks ahead of his mark despite taking a 9 lb hike in the weights. Sea Oscar is feared most on the back of his good course second, with the handily-weighted Foreign Policy and course scorer Guild completing the shortlist.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
FOX LE BEL comes with risks attached given that he remains a maiden after 24 appearances, but there was little wrong with his latest third at Clonmel. The second went on to win 10 days later, and a first success could be on the cards for the Liz Doyle-trained eight-year-old. Finnians Row has been performing with credit over 2m4f of late and looks a potential improver on this step up in trip, while Coolcullen failed to fire on his handicap debut over fences at Fairyhouse but it's still relatively early days and this should reveal more.
FOX LE BEL shaped quite well at Clonmel last time and perhaps this can be the day he finally gets off the mark. Aodhan May can have a line put through her run here last time and rates an obvious threat on her Down Royal second prior to that. The shortlist is completed by Finnians Row who ran well for fourth over a shorter trip here last time.
Her Down Royal second suggested AODHAN MAY could come into her own over this longer trip

0.83/1(+17%) | (3) Elim 0.83/1, Promising sort who filled runners-up spot in a 7f novice in October and matched that level when filling same spot in a C&D event 17 days ago. Feasible to think she can come on for that effort and she's high on the shortlist.
2nd (8) (2.75/1 +39%) Violeta |
2.75/1(+39%) | (8) Violeta 2.75/1, Fair filly who ran up to best (on back of 4 months off) when third in 5-runner C&D handicap 17 days ago. Boasts benefit of plenty of experience and good chance she can make her presence felt again.

20/1(+39%) | (5) Forever Proud 20/1, Twice-raced filly. Seventh of 11 in maiden at Wolverhampton (7.2f) in November, pushed along over 2f out and late headway. Another likely type for handicaps.

Dam 2-y-o 5f winner who stayed 7f from family of July Cup winner Owington. Makes appeal on paper and interesting what the market makes of her on debut.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Violeta and Elim set the standard of those with previous experience and are likely to be thereabouts. However, it may be worth siding with UBETTABEQUICK, who looks the most appealing of the newcomers. At 350,000 euros, the daughter of Wootton Bassett was by far the most expensive purchase in here and, given that she is a half-sister to useful 6f/7f winner Above, she ticks the right boxes on paper. Dome Of Stars is also noted on debut.
ELIM has shaped with promise in filling the runner-up spot both starts to date, latterly in a C&D novice event 17 days ago, and, with the prospect of more to come, she gets the nod to make it third time lucky. Violeta has established herself as a fair performer and is feared, whilst the market should prove useful in assessing the chances of newcomers Dome of Stars and Ubettabequick.
Ubettabequick and Dome Of Stars are interesting newcomers. ELIM and Violeta are best of the runners with experience.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
RELEVANT RANGE has hit the crossbar twice since joining new connections and this looks like as good an opportunity as any to finally break the maiden. Course experience can count for a lot around here and that may give him the edge over consistent eight-race maiden Rick Dalton, who returns from a 214-day break, although he is officially rated 6lb higher than the selection. Expound has been behind Relevant Range the last twice but remains open to improvement, while the same can be said of Areana and El Campeador.
RICK DALTON achieved quite a useful level of form last season and should be tough to beat on his return to action for the Ger Lyons/Colin Keane combination. Relevant Range has recorded 2 solid runner-up effforts here since joining Gillian Scott and is the obvious threat. Expound looks best of the remainder.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
MADE IN THE WOODS deservedly got off the mark at the chief expense of a subsequent winner at Limerick, and an 8lb rise may not be enough to prevent him from following up. The six-year-old had been runner-up on his four previous runs, so consistency is not an issue, and he can overturn form with Trickey Trix (first) from their meeting at Clonmel. A winner of two of her last three over hurdles, Birdie Blitz is a key player off a comparatively lenient figure. Stolen Moment is also of interest on her chasing bow.
BIRDIE BLITZ won comfortably off a 5 lb higher mark over hurdles last time so is potentially well handicapped back chasing. Last-time-out scorers Made In The Woods and Trickey Trix can battle it out for minor honours.
The more competitive division but hurdles winner BIRDIE BLITZ could prove thrown in on this mark on handicap chase debut

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
ST ANDREW'S CASTLE, a winner here two starts ago, is 1lb well-in at the weights and could have a bit in hand over the opposition, some of whom are rivals that already have something to find. Hardy (fourth) is one of those, as he was a little over five lengths behind the selection when they met here 22 days ago. Elladora also comes into calculations.
ST ANDREW'S CASTLE has presumably been helped by the reapplication of cheekpieces and can strike again while the iron is hot. Hardy and Elladora head the opposition.
Judged on his recent C&D form, ST ANDREW'S CASTLE has the strongest chance. Hardy is second choice.

FEATURE THIS (third) has shown a liking for the Polytrack and appears to have struck up an affinity with Robert Whearty, who has won and finished a good second from just two rides aboard the filly. The jockey's 7lb claim is a valuable tool in this company and another big run is expected. Royal Tribute (fourth) was just behind the selection when they met here last week and has a feasible chance of reversing the form on 1lb better terms, while Wonder Spirit is a regular here and is highly respected now dropped in trip.
ROYAL TRIBUTE has been knocking on the door for James McAuley and having shaped as though still in good form over C&D last week, he gets the nod. Feature This and Wonder Spirit are a couple of potential threats.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Papa Cocktail is dangerously well handicapped and should be monitored in the betting, while Satin Snake and Anif are closely matched judged on their recent efforts. However, LORD ABAMA caught the eye when he finished to good effect behind a progressive rival last week and he may do better now returned to this trip. A bold showing from the Profitable gelding looks assured.
PAPA COCKTAIL was a big eye-catcher off his much-reduced mark when third at Southwell 7 weeks ago (ran on strongly from a poor position), so looks ready to strike. This does look competitive, though, with Streak Lightning and Novak heading the dangers.

125/1(-150%) | (4) Jarvis Brook 125/1, Twice-raced gelding. 200/1, fourth of 12 in maiden at this C&D 28 days ago. Others are more persuasive. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
It has to be of interest that GLAZUNOV was sent-off favourite for a Curragh maiden won by subsequent French Group 1 scorer Proud And Regal, and this son of Frankel is the first port of call for a punt on his return to action. His pedigree suggests a synthetic surface won't be much of an issue and he is one to follow from here on. San Antonio looks the pick of Aidan O'Brien's two entrants and may improve now upped in trip, while Giselles Defence should be a lot wiser after his debut third here.
JUST AN HOUR offered plenty to work on when runner-up at this course on debut and, with the longer trip in his favour, he takes preference over Cape Bridgewater, who also promises to be well suited by the longer trip. San Antonio also warrants serious consideration.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
SLAINTE MHATH wasn't disgraced when fifth here earlier in the month on her first run since October, and the mare is capable of building on that performance especially with the cheekpieces reapplied. Final Account's recent course form, which includes a victory at the beginning of last month, gives him strong credentials, while others for the shortlist include One Hart and Tathmeen.
JEMS BOND quickly bounced back to her best when a close third here last week and should make another bold bid off the same mark. One Hart remains on a tempting mark on the pick of his recent form so is next best ahead of Final Account.
With the return to 6f looking ideal, ONE HART may be the answer. Final Account is second choice.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Emeric was almost able to capitalise on his sliding handicap mark when finishing a good second over C&D in December and he's worthy of consideration following a brief break, but a chance is taken on MISS UPBEAT. She was an eyecatcher on her handicap debut having been slowly away before making up plenty of ground in the closing stages, despite being denied a clear run. John McConnell's filly is able to compete from an unchanged mark and she should be open to further improvement. Others to note include Evening Verse and Deluca Chop.
A few with chances but MISS UPBEAT still looked inexperienced when posting a good C&D fourth last time and can build on that to get off the mark. In-form Dark Street is next on the list, with fellow C&D scorer Kartayaz another who can have a say in a very open handicap.
Ths is the racecard key.

This is the 16:15 Kempton race from the video above backed at 28/1 earlier in the day.
Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
