1st (6) ![]() Handle With Care |
4/1(-20%) | (6) Handle With Care 4/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 8/1, very good fourth of 12 in handicap at Kempton (6f) 19 days ago, nearest finish. That was a promising effort and she's of strong interest off the same mark here. Progressed with racing last summer and is entitled to have come on for Kempton fourth. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) ![]() Toughly |
6/1(-50%) | (5) Toughly 6/1, Promising sort. Winner at Southwell in January. Sixth of 12 in handicap at Kempton (6f, 7/2) 19 days ago. Likely to improve, especially if she settles better, and a bold show could be on the way. Pleasing handicap/Polytrack debut behind Handle With Care last time; open to improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) ![]() So Sassy |
10/11(+60%) | (3) So Sassy 10/11, Thrice-raced maiden. 11/2, fourth of 10 in novice at Kempton (6f) when last seen in October. Improvement anticipated now that she goes down the handicap route and booking of Oisin Murphy adds to her appeal. Showed enough last autumn to warrant consideration, especially with Oisin Murphy booked. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) ![]() Commendation |
22/1(-120%) | (8) Commendation 22/1, Winner here in February. Fourth of 7 in handicap (11/1) at Chelmsford City (5f) 16 days ago, faring best of those held up. Likely to find a few of these too good. The race didn't pan out her way last time and she won't mind going back up to 6f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) ![]() Baileys Jubilation |
13/2(-86%) | (2) Baileys Jubilation 13/2, 12/1, creditable second of 12 in nursery at Wolverhampton (6.1f), well positioned. Off 128 days ahead of this polytrack debut but mark untouched and she's certainly one to consider. Easier course again won't hurt under an experienced 5lb claimer; is shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) ![]() Alcazan |
14/1(+44%) | (1) Alcazan 14/1, C&D winner. Three wins from 13 runs last year. Latest win at Ascot in October. 50/1, seventh of 8 in handicap at Southwell (7.1f) 10 days ago. Now 1 lb below last winning mark but she needs to bounce back in a major way. The return to sprinting will help but she hasn't offered much in two runs back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) ![]() Spiritualism |
28/1(-12%) | (4) Spiritualism 28/1, Winner at Kempton in October. First run since leaving Amy Murphy when last of 10 in handicap (33/1) at Southwell (6.1f) 23 days ago. Refitting of blinkers may help (performed well both previous starts in the headgear) but others preferred all the same. Blinkers return, having been left off for her low-key comeback; ought to fare better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) ![]() Beautiful Things |
150/1(-355%) | (7) Beautiful Things 150/1, 50/1, last of 12 in handicap at Kempton (6f) 19 days ago and she is readily passed over. Has gone the wrong way for this yard, hanging left throughout last time. |
BAILEYS JUBILATION went agonisingly close at Wolverhampton and goes off an unchanged rating. With Archie Young claiming a handy 5lb, Charlie Johnston's filly could be the one to beat. Toughly only managed to finish in midfield on her handicap debut at Kempton, but there will be plenty who give her another chance off a 1lb lower rating. Of the remainder, Handle With Care makes the most appeal.
Several to consider in this competitive handicap. HANDLE WITH CARE and Toughly were separated by less than a length when fourth and sixth respectively at Kempton and they both make plenty of appeal. The latter may go on to prove the pick of them in due course but Handle With Care looks closer to the finished article at this stage and is taken to emerge on top here. So Sassy brings potential to this handicap bow and she is feared, along with Baileys Jubilation.
A few open to improvement, headed by SO SASSY, who shaped nicely in all three runs last backend. Handle With Care is second choice.

1st (3) ![]() Obsidian Knight |
9/1(-64%) | (3) Obsidian Knight 9/1, Three-time C&D winner, the latest in November. Sixth of 9 in handicap at this C&D (AW, 5/1) 24 days ago. That run can be overlooked (stuck wide throughout from a high draw) and claims judged on his good second here on penultimate start. Four-time winner over 1m2f around here; had excuses last time; shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) ![]() Risen Again |
9/1(+25%) | (6) Risen Again 9/1, 15/2 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, fifth of 8 in handicap at Southwell (11.1f) 20 days ago, better placed than most. Blinkers now tried and he looks vulnerable from a win point of view. Placed five times but now 0-11 and not progressing; blinkers on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) ![]() Newfangled |
11/2(-10%) | (9) Newfangled 11/2, C&D winner. Three wins from 10 runs last year, the latest at Wolverhampton in September. 11/4, good second of 11 in handicap back at that course (9.5f) when last seen 150 days ago. Needs considering. Fine form in cheekpieces in second half of 2024, but off five months and no headgear today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) ![]() Etretat |
18/1(-80%) | (1) Etretat 18/1, C&D winner in January. 14/1, eighth of 9 in handicap at Southwell (8.1f) 10 days ago. Back up in trip and while stall 11 isn't ideal, he would have an each-way chance if back to his best. 2lb higher than when winning over C&D in January, but below form lately and drawn widest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) ![]() Foreseen |
12/1(+70%) | (4) Foreseen 12/1, First run since leaving Adam West when ninth of 13 in handicap (100/1) at Kempton (8f) 19 days ago. Back up in trip and it's easy enough to look elsewhere. Won in France and second at Newmarket in November, but poor since; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) ![]() Prince Rasam |
4/1(-60%) | (2) Prince Rasam 4/1, Lightly-raced winner. Sixth of 8 in handicap (7/1) at Kempton (12f) when last seen 7 months ago. Bit to prove but, on the upside, the handicapper has given him a chance and the refitting of the hood may help (performed with credit sole previous run in this headgear). Lightly raced since winning sole start at two; back from another absence; plenty to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) ![]() Imperial Cult |
10/1(+17%) | (7) Imperial Cult 10/1, Course winner. Three wins from 14 runs last year. Latest win at Epsom in September. 8/1, respectable third of 14 in handicap at Newmarket (9f, good to soft) on final 2024 appearance. Place possibilities if fully tuned-up. Won twice over 1m4f here last year; off five months but can go well fresh; considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (11) ![]() Molly Valentine |
12/1(+40%) | (11) Molly Valentine 12/1, Course winner. Latest win at Wolverhampton in December. Ninth of 11 in handicap there (9.5f, 10/1) 79 days ago. Opposable. Ended a 13-race losing run at Wolverhampton in December, but well held there last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) ![]() Coolree |
25/1(-25%) | (10) Coolree 25/1, 22/1, first run since leaving Amy Murphy when fifth of 6 in handicap at Chelmsford City (8f) 11 days ago. Back up in trip and others are more persuasive. 2lb below last winning mark, but 0-10 on the AW so he does need to find a bit more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) ![]() Crafter |
16/5(+47%) | (8) Crafter 16/5, C&D winner in November. 7/1, good second of 9 in handicap at this C&D (AW) 24 days ago. High on the shortlist. Record over C&D reads 21242; another big effort seems likely. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (5) ![]() Ellexis |
18/1(-29%) | (5) Ellexis 18/1, C&D winner in January. 9/1, seventh of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 28 days ago. Cheekpieces now given a whirl and she could have a say if the new headgear has the desired effect. C&D winner off 1lb lower in January; respected back here; cheekpieces on. |
Newfangled is a previous C&D winner who hasn't finished out of the top two in each of his last five starts, so he should remain competitive off a 2lb higher mark than his most recent second at Wolverhampton. However, the vote goes to CRAFTER, who hit the crossbar over track and trip last month and is just 1lb higher. The seven-year-old might only need to reproduce that level of form in order to go one better. Ellexis sports first-time cheekpieces and completes the shortlist.
A chance is taken on PRINCE RASAM, who clearly didn't stay 1½m at Kempton on his most recent appearance in July and had previously shaped well in a first-time hood (refitted here) at Wolverhampton where he wasn't beaten far in a decent handicap off a mark 7 lb higher than he'll be racing off here. Newfangled steps up to 0-70 company for the first time but he looks solid and is feared most ahead of respected C&D winners Crafter and Obsidian Knight.
The vote goes to CRAFTER whose record over C&D reads 21242. Another big run appears likely.

1st (2) ![]() Bethpage |
11/4(+39%) | (2) Bethpage 11/4, Progressive mare who completed the hat-trick in good style at Southwell in June. Good efforts in defeat on her next couple of starts but ran too badly to be true when tailed-off last of 12 to Larchmont Lass at this course (21.4f, good) back in November. Bounce back needed (has had a wind op). Did well over shorter trip last year but absent since disappointing run here in November. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) ![]() Larchmont Lass |
5/4(+33%) | (1) Larchmont Lass 5/4, Returned from wind surgery to land a 21f course handicap on reappearance. Let down by her jumping when third at Sandown a month later and put together another error-strewn round without her usual hood at Kempton (24.6f, good to soft) when last seen 3 months ago. Leap of faith required. Below form at Kempton Christmas meeting but landed a good prize here (2m5f) in November. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) ![]() Briefly |
7/4(-92%) | (3) Briefly 7/4, Steadily progressive in bumpers and is following a similar path over hurdles, coming good in 19.5f Bangor maiden at the end of June. Ran well switched to a handicap in a tongue strap after 6 months off when second over C&D (soft) just over 5 weeks ago and every chance she can go one better. Close/clear second to a next-time-out winner over C&D on last month's handicap debut. |
Briefly finished 12 lengths clear of the third when hitting the woodwork over C&D and is likely to be thereabouts. However, a 6lb rise looks harsh and might open the door for LARCHMONT LASS. Paul Nicholls' mare ran too badly to be true as favourite when a well-beaten seventh at Kempton in December, but she is fresh from a break and could take advantage of the drop in grade. Bethpage isn't out of it based on her second at Ludlow two starts ago.
Preference is for BRIEFLY, who ran a cracker on return/handicap debut when runner-up to a subsequent winner over C&D last month and Anthony Honeyball's 5-y-o can go one better at the expense of Larchmont Lass, who was let down by her jumping on both starts in December but should find this assignment easier. Bethpage has had a wind operation since last seen and needs to get back on track.
Anthony Honeyball's BRIEFLY (nap) bumped into a much-improved subsequent winner when second over C&D last month and gets the nod today.

1st (4) ![]() Mister Mojito |
9/2(+44%) | (4) Mister Mojito 9/2, Course winner. Underwent breathing surgery before coming in seventh of 8 in handicap at Kempton (8f) 26 days ago. Tongue strap on 1st time. Others more persuasive. Probably needed last month's Kempton return having been gelded and undergone wind surgery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) ![]() Saturnalia |
7/1(-17%) | (1) Saturnalia 7/1, Course winner. 8/1, creditable fourth of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 42 days ago. Fifteen runs since last win in 2023. Has been running consistently well in defeat lately, but a losing run of 15 is a concern. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) ![]() Francesi |
9/2(+10%) | (6) Francesi 9/2, C&D winner. 7/1, respectable third of 11 in handicap at this course (10f, AW), not ideally placed. Off 131 days but he can make his presence felt. C&D winner, but just 1-32 and he may need a stiffer test than this now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (10) ![]() River Alwen |
12/1(-20%) | (10) River Alwen 12/1, Latest win at Chelmsford City in November. 22/1, creditable 2 lengths fifth of 11 to Love Your Work in handicap at Chelmsford City (8f) 16 days ago. Needs considering. Didn't seem suited by the drop to 1m at Chelmsford last time and this is even sharper. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) ![]() Taskheer |
7/1(+56%) | (11) Taskheer 7/1, C&D winner. Latest win here in February. 12/1, creditable 3½ lengths sixth of 11 to Love Your Work in handicap at Chelmsford City (8f) 16 days ago. Ought to be thereabouts. Dual C&D winner, but finished behind a couple of these at Chelmsford last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) ![]() Fat Gladiator |
7/2(+22%) | (8) Fat Gladiator 7/2, Off over 2 years but he shaped encouragingly when fourth of 8 in handicap at Kempton (7f) 19 days ago, racing closer to pace than ideal. Can take a step forward now and not without interest. Has only raced ten times in almost four years, but the ability remains; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) ![]() Love Your Work |
14/1(-211%) | (3) Love Your Work 14/1, Three wins from 19 runs last year. 25/1, won 11-runner handicap at Chelmsford City (8f) 16 days ago. Can give another good account. 4lb higher then when winning at Chelmsford last time; no surprise if he again goes well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) ![]() Rabinal |
20/1(-100%) | (9) Rabinal 20/1, C&D winner. 15/2, respectable fifth of 10 in handicap at this course (7f, AW) 19 days ago, never nearer. Unreliable sort overall though. Best form has come here, but his record in Class 5 handicaps or higher reads 5864097. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) ![]() Masterofgreygoose |
9/1(-13%) | (7) Masterofgreygoose 9/1, 4/1, respectable third of 7 in handicap at Kempton (8f) 26 days ago. Not ruled out in his bid for a maiden victory. 0-7 but has made the frame five times and may still may have a bigger performance in him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) ![]() South Kensington |
100/1(-150%) | (5) South Kensington 100/1, First run since leaving Hugo Palmer when last of 9 in handicap (66/1) at Southwell (7.1f). Off 101 days. Makes polytrack debut with something to prove. 0-8 and lightly raced since autumn 2023; best watched unless the market suggests otherwise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (2) ![]() Lincoln Legacy |
28/1(+15%) | (2) Lincoln Legacy 28/1, Latest win at Newcastle in November. Had wind op/first run since leaving Charlie Johnston when last of 7 in handicap at Newcastle (8f) 12 days ago. Plenty more is needed. 3-11 for previous yard but tailed off on stable debut 12 days ago; enough to prove. |
Love Your Work sprung a 25/1 surprise when scoring at Chelmsford earlier in the month and holds an obvious chance. However, a 4lb rise for that triumph might catch him out and, with that in mind, SATURNALIA gets the vote. The son of Holy Roman Emperor wasn't disgraced in fourth at Wolverhampton and has kindly been dropped 1lb. He can regain the winning thread, while Francesi is another to keep an eye on.
An open handicap and it could go the way of FAT GLADIATOR who shaped well after a long absence when fourth at Kempton recently and could build on it for his in-form yard. Francesi is on a long losing run but this C&D scorer could emerge as the main danger ahead of River Alwen, Love Your Work and Taskheer.
A chance is taken with FAT GLADIATOR despite only having raced ten times since May 2021. His recent return suggests the ablity remains.

1st (3) ![]() Mr Mackay |
2/1(+11%) | (3) Mr Mackay 2/1, Fairly useful sort has been in good form over hurdles and fences this season, another respectable effort when fifth of 10 in handicap hurdle at Doncaster (16.6f, good) 23 days ago. Interesting racing off career-low mark and although yet to prove his stamina for this trip, drying ground should help. Consistent over fences/hurdles on goodish ground this season and has slipped to good mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) ![]() Shengai Enki |
7/4(+7%) | (1) Shengai Enki 7/4, Has proved better than ever with cheekpieces refitted, landing 6-runner handicap hurdle at Fontwell (21.7f, heavy) in February before running well under a penalty facing very different ground conditions 20 days ago, third of 10 at Market Rasen (20.6f). Should give another good account. Placed off today's mark since last month's Fontwell win; likely contender again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) ![]() George Henry |
9/2(-50%) | (2) George Henry 9/2, Placed in a bumper before going with plenty of encouragement on seasonal/hurdling debut when mid-field at Exeter (16.3f, heavy) in December. Yet to recapture that form in subsequent qualifying runs but could prove a different proposition now sent handicapping over a longer trip. Unexposed 6yo who has shown promise in three novice hurdles this season; handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) ![]() Rascal |
7/2(+42%) | (4) Rascal 7/2, Notable runners-up effort behind Wreckless Eric last season would give him every chance but hasn't been anywhere near that level in three starts since, below form after 9 months off when well-held at Ludlow (15.8f) last month. Steps back up in trip with a bit to prove at present. Ran okay last month, after a layoff, and remains quite lightly raced; major player. |
SHENGAI ENKI made the frame at Market Rasen earlier in the month and the handicapper might have been kind to leave his mark alone. The six-year-old has lots in his favour and could make it two wins out of his last three outings. Mr Mackay was beaten into fifth at Doncaster, but he could improve for this step up in distance and has to be considered. George Henry can beat Rascal home for third.
MR MACKAY has been performing with credit all season and although he's yet to prove his stamina for this trip, it may well be within his reach on drying ground in a small field. He's taken to land this 4-runner event from a career-low handicap mark, with the consistent and versatile Shengai Enki next best. George Henry is an interesting contender over this longer trip on handicap debut, while Rascal has claims on last season's form, but arguably has the most to prove of the quartet.
The suggestion is RASCAL, who returned from a layoff with a satisfactory 2m run last month and is unexposed over this sort of trip.

1st (2) ![]() Mount Mogan |
6/1(-71%) | (2) Mount Mogan 6/1, 3-time C&D winner, latest in 10-runner minor event 59 days ago. Can go well again back in handicap company. Landed a third course win when last seen in January; more on his plate off this mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) ![]() Lord Danielson |
10/1(-54%) | (6) Lord Danielson 10/1, Bagged his second win of 2025 at Chelmsford City in January. Possibly found the run coming too soon when seventh of 8 in handicap (9/2) at Chelmsford City (7f) 53 days ago. Expected to be bang there at these weights after a break. Patchy record at best at beyond 6f; stall 10 isn't ideal for one happiest on the sharp end. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) ![]() Seas Of Elzaam |
10/3(+26%) | (8) Seas Of Elzaam 10/3, Nineteen runs since last win in 2022 but he recorded a creditable second of 9 in minor event (5/1) at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 13 days ago. Can make his presence felt. Doesn't always find as much as looks likely but he'll rightly be popular once more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) ![]() Ya Rayah |
6/1(+40%) | (3) Ya Rayah 6/1, 18/1, tenth of 12 in handicap at Nottingham (8.3f, heavy). Off 151 days. First run for yard after leaving Sean Woods and needs a couple of these to falter. Maiden who hung left a few times for Sean Woods; has been gelded and the market will guide. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) ![]() Ashford Hill |
9/2(+10%) | (5) Ashford Hill 9/2, C&D winner. 10/1, respectable fourth of 10 in handicap at this C&D (AW) 19 days ago. Ought to be in the shake-up. Pulled hard from the outside stall here last time and is capable back at this lower level. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) ![]() Royal Jet |
17/2(+58%) | (1) Royal Jet 17/2, 80/1, last of 8 in handicap at Kempton (7f) 19 days ago. Hooded for 1st time with work to do. Handicapper quick to ease off but a first-time hood will need to make a difference. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) ![]() Kessaar Power |
10/1(-43%) | (4) Kessaar Power 10/1, 20/1, ninth of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 12 days ago. Others appeal more. Likes Chelmsford and will be happier back on Polytrack but needs to bounce back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) ![]() Blue Collar Lad |
33/1(-32%) | (7) Blue Collar Lad 33/1, Course winner. Latest win at Chelmsford City in September. Last of 9 in handicap at Kempton (7f, 50/1) 40 days ago. Cheekpieces back on with lots more needed. Returns from a break on a career-low mark having struggled in three runs in the winter. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) ![]() Repartee |
11/1(+31%) | (10) Repartee 11/1, Thirty two runs since last win in 2020. Tenth of 11 in handicap at Chelmsford City (8f, 14/1) 16 days ago. Hard to make a case for. Useful in his day but is inconsistent and poor now; again only holds outside claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (9) ![]() Alyara |
16/1(-33%) | (9) Alyara 16/1, 15/2, creditable third of 8 in minor event at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 13 days ago. Visor on 1st time and she's one for the shortlist. Needs to settle better; does most racing over further and has never found winning easy. |
Mount Mogan has to be of interest following his win in a classified event over C&D last time, but he faces a much stiffer task now. As a result, preference is for SEAS OF ELZAAM, who has been running consistently well in defeat of late and appears to be on a workable mark. Alyara is another to note in a first-time visor.
LORD DANIELSON, already a dual scorer this year, is worth forgiving his latest Chelmsford City seventh when possibly finding a busy spell catching up with him and taken to bounce back in style after a break. Seas of Elzaam is weighted to go well and next on the list, while Mount Mogan and Ashford Hill can have a say too in this open handicap.
There will always be risks with ASHFORD HILL but this company is softer than she's faced of late. Seas Of Elzaam is feared most.

1st (7) ![]() Zaochen Enki |
1/1(-100%) | (7) Zaochen Enki 1/1, Runner-up in a juvenile hurdle in France last summer. Joined a top stable for his career in Britain and this looks an excellent opportunity for him to get off to a winning start. Second over hurdles in France last summer and makes British debut in very ordinary race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) ![]() Disguisedlimit |
5/4(+38%) | (2) Disguisedlimit 5/4, Point winner and placed on all 3 outings in maiden hurdles, showing fair form the last twice. The obvious one to follow home Zaochen Enki. Irish point winner who was placed on first three hurdling starts; leading contender here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) ![]() Barford Groover |
25/1(-25%) | (5) Barford Groover 25/1, Runner-up in a bumper for Mitchell Hunt in spring 2023 but not seen again until beaten in a similar race at Huntingdon for Tim Vaughan in January. Now switches to hurdles for another new stable. Nearly caused 150-1 shock in a bumper in 2023 but well beaten on only subsequent start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) ![]() Lusso Milan |
40/1(-21%) | (6) Lusso Milan 40/1, Encouraging start when runner-up in bumper at Plumpton last winter but hasn't built on that since, including 3 mares' novice hurdles in November/December. Has left the Jonjo & A.J. O'Neill stable ahead of this first outing for 3 months. Began hurdling career with three disappointing runs for O'Neill stable; now in new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) ![]() Saddlers Dream |
150/1(-88%) | (4) Saddlers Dream 150/1, Well beaten in 2 bumpers and a maiden hurdle. Showed no significant promise in his two bumpers or when 300-1 for a recent maiden hurdle. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) ![]() Bara Tara |
8/1(+50%) | (1) Bara Tara 8/1, Well beaten in a course bumper in January, although the fact he went off at 9/2 suggests that better was expected. Hurdle debut. Unable to justify prominence in betting when well beaten in course bumper in January. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|RR| (3) ![]() Now I Know |
80/1(+20%) | (3) Now I Know 80/1, Well held in 2 bumpers last spring and a pair of Kempton hurdles this winter. More one for handicaps after this. Well beaten at triple-digit odds in two Kempton novice/maiden hurdles this season. |
ZAOCHEN ENKI finished second on his sole start in France and now has his first outing for the Paul Nicholls team. The juvenile is related to plenty of winners and it would be no surprise to see him make an instant impression. Disguisedlimit has shown ability in each of his three appearances over hurdles and would be foolish to dismiss. Bara Tara is another to note.
French-recruit ZAOCHEN ENKI should prove very hard to beat on his British debut, with Disguisedlimit the obvious one to follow him home.
Paul Nicholls' new recruit ZAOCHEN ENKI came second over hurdles in France last summer and is taken to strike on his British debut.

1st (6) ![]() Mashaan |
4/1(+33%) | (6) Mashaan 4/1, Back to winning ways at Wolverhampton in December and shaped as if still in good form when fourth of 10 in handicap (10/1) at Chelmsford City (7f) 16 days ago, racing closer to pace than ideal. Could be thereabouts. Previous C&D winner who arrives in form; remains consistent and a case could be made. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) ![]() Comedian Leader |
3/1(+60%) | (8) Comedian Leader 3/1, Seventeen runs since last win in 2024 but got back on track when third of 9 in minor event at Wolverhampton (8.6f, 25/1) a week ago, coming from further back than the front pair. Task is now to build on her latest effort. Could well have this set up for her if she gets the breaks from a wide stall; player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) ![]() Ravensbourne |
9/1(-100%) | (3) Ravensbourne 9/1, Finally off the mark at Chelmsford City in January. After 5 weeks off, did too much too soon when sixth of 10 in handicap at Chelmsford City (7f, 17/2) 16 days ago, so she could fare better with visor reapplied. Has run well here before and is drawn to attack but others make more appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) ![]() Bear To Dream |
12/1(-50%) | (5) Bear To Dream 12/1, Creditable third here (6f) on return and run best excused when sixth of 10 in handicap at Chelmsford City (6f, 25/1) 16 days ago, hampered final 1f. Not ruled out having dropped back down to her last winning mark. Two fair efforts back from a break, without much luck, and an easy 7f is fine; considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) ![]() Edergole's Gift |
25/1(+24%) | (9) Edergole's Gift 25/1, Sole success at this C&D last summer. Her form has gone the wrong way, though, last of 11 in minor event at Chelmsford City (6f, 33/1) a month ago. Blinkers discarded as she goes back up in trip. The blinkers come off and, despite a further 3lb drop, she's hard to make a case for. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) ![]() Porfin |
16/1(-45%) | (4) Porfin 16/1, Four-time course winner, with latest success in January. However, well below form last 3 starts, last of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 14/1) 12 days ago, so he needs to bounce back returned to this venue. Has run poorly a few times since forced out of 0-50 company; has other pace around him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) ![]() Outreach |
10/1(+29%) | (7) Outreach 10/1, Successful in minor event at Wolverhampton in February. Failed to repeat that effort when sixth of 11 in another minor event at Chelmsford City (6f, 16/1) a month ago, though raced wide with no cover. Others still more persuasive. AW wins have come at Wolverhampton and he's high in the weights now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) ![]() Neptune Legend |
10/3(-11%) | (2) Neptune Legend 10/3, Opened account for the year in minor event at Southwell in February and has continued in good heart since, third of 10 in handicap (7/1) at Newcastle (7.1f) 2 weeks ago. Major player with blinkers back on. Has enjoyed a consistent start to the year and looks set to go well once more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) ![]() Regal Glory |
6/1(+63%) | (10) Regal Glory 6/1, Only victory came at this C&D back in 2022, but she stepped forward from her recent run when fourth of 9 in handicap at Kempton (7f, 25/1) 40 days ago. More needed, though, if she's to get her head back in front. Had plenty of chances in weak races; only holds each-way claims. |
The in-form NEPTUNE LEGEND has made the frame on his last couple of starts in handicap company and this appears to be an ideal opportunity for the six-year-old to return to winning ways. Comedian Leader could prove to be the main threat following her placed effort at Wolverhampton last week, although Mashaan and Regal Glory are others with valid form claims.
NEPTUNE LEGEND has yet to finish outside of the placings this year, successful at Southwell in February and running well back up in trip when third at Newcastle last time, so he is taken to resume winning ways with blinkers reapplied. Galel promises to be suited by a return to this longer distance and could be the main danger, with Mashaan also in the mix.
This might be set up for COMEDIAN LEADER off a career-low mark. Galel will find this easier and she's worth a look too.

1st (3) ![]() Moviddy |
2/1(+20%) | (3) Moviddy 2/1, Winning hurdler but without a win over fences. However, there has been better signs of late off this career-low mark, beaten only by progressive types at Fakenham last 2 starts. 0-10 over regulation fences but chased home a subsequent winner at Fakenham last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) ![]() Space Voyage |
6/4(-80%) | (1) Space Voyage 6/4, Multiple winning hurdler who has improved switched to fences this year, winning 2 of her 3 starts, including when a wide-margin winner at Market Rasen last week. Obvious claims under a penalty. Made it 2-4 over fences with a 15l success at Market Rasen eight days ago; major player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) ![]() Getbazoutofhere |
7/2(+22%) | (4) Getbazoutofhere 7/2, Belatedly opened her account at Hereford in May and has advanced her form this season, scoring again there before good-placed efforts at Leicester and Cheltenham. However, needs to shrug off a poor run at Fakenham 9 weeks ago. Dual winner on good ground last year; pulled up last time but has bounced back before. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|RR| (2) ![]() Legends Ryde |
11/2(+45%) | (2) Legends Ryde 11/2, Three-time chase winner in 2021/22 but she looked very rusty after more than 2 years off at Taunton last month (had refused to race at Cheltenham prior to absence). On the plus side, she's potentially well handicapped and her yard are in terrific form. Tongue strap back on. Off for 761 days before finishing a well-beaten fourth of five at Taunton last month. |
SPACE VOYAGE bounced back to form in no uncertain terms when bolting up in first-time blinkers at Market Rasen. Olly Murphy's charge must shoulder a penalty but a couple of her rivals arrive with something to prove, and Beau Morgan's 5lb claim will ease the burden. The consistent Moviddy should keep the selection honest, while Getbazoutofhere drops in class having been pulled up at Fakenham in January and appeals most of the remaining pair.
SPACE VOYAGE has taken very well to fences this calendar year and she looks capable of defying a penalty given how much she had in hand at Market Rasen last week. It shouldn't be long before Moviddy breaks her duck over fences, but she may find a progressive rival too strong for the third consecutive outing.
A chance is taken with GETBAZOUTOFHERE who was pulled up last time but has bounced back form a similar performance before.

1st (1) ![]() Diablo Rojo |
6/4(+40%) | (1) Diablo Rojo 6/4, Impressive when winning on debut at Redcar, before shaping better than result when 10½ lengths sixth of 11 to The Lion In Winter in Acomb Stakes at York (7f, good to firm, 22/1). Respected with tongue strap applied (has had a wind op). Useful form on turf last year; watch market on return after wind surgery; tongue-tie on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) ![]() Hello Zaman |
7/2(+13%) | (4) Hello Zaman 7/2, Some encouragement on debut and left that form well behind when scoring in convincing fashion in 8-runner novice (8/11) at this C&D 59 days ago, making running and keeping on well. Could make another bold bid. Won a C&D novice with plenty of authority in January; this is harder but still respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) ![]() Don Pacifico |
7/2(+13%) | (2) Don Pacifico 7/2, Still in need of the experience but took a step forward when landing the odds (8/13) in 9-runner novice at Southwell (6.1f) in December, racing freely but quickening to lead over 1f out. Open to further improvement. Off the mark at Southwell in December, but he may need a stiffer test than this now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) ![]() Gallant |
9/4(-88%) | (3) Gallant 9/4, Showed ability on debut last summer and, in first-time tongue strap, improved from that effort when winning 11-runner novice at Kempton (6f, 5/2) in October, well on top finish. Leading contender with further progress to come. Won at Kempton in October and the form of that race has worked out very well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) ![]() Maury |
125/1(+0%) | (6) Maury 125/1, €72,000 foal, 220,000 gns yearling, 16,000 gns 2-y-o, Earthlight gelding. Half-brother to useful winner up to 7f Pipsy. One of 2 newcomers in the line-up for yard, but he looks to face a difficult ask. Faces a daunting task in this field on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) ![]() Pure Imagination |
250/1(-100%) | (7) Pure Imagination 250/1, Making her first start, was slowly away and never involved when eighth of 10 in novice at Southwell (7.1f, 28/1) 24 days ago. Looks to be one for the longer term. Well beaten on debut; handicaps over further should suit in due course. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) ![]() Sassy Sprezzatura |
250/1(-67%) | (8) Sassy Sprezzatura 250/1, In need of the experience in 2 outings last summer, slowly away before racing freely when tenth of 12 in novice at Kempton (6f, 125/1) in July. Major improvement required after 8 months off. Out the back in both starts at Kempton last summer; no appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) ![]() Luzon Prince |
200/1(-60%) | (5) Luzon Prince 200/1, 4,000 gns 2-y-o, Pinatubo gelding. Half-brother to 5f-1m winner Silver Jubilee and 8.6f winner Specialisation. Has a useful standard to aim at on debut. Unraced for Godolphin; this looks a hot race in which to make his debut. |
GALLANT accounted for a high-quality field, including a subsequent Group 2 winner in second, when getting off the mark over this trip at Kempton in October. With that in mind, Andrew Balding's colt is hard to oppose here. Diablo Rojo was out of his depth in the Acomb last time but should not be underestimated on his return to action. Don Pacifico edges out Hello Zaman to be best of the rest.
An interesting-looking novice, with preference for GALLANT who built on his debut promise when winning in good style at Kempton in October, form which has been boosted by the second and third since. He can continue his progression to make a winning return, though Diablo Rojo isn't taken lightly back down in grade, with Don Pacifico also one to note.
The vote goes to GALLANT who hasn't been seen since winning at Kempton in October, but the form of that race has worked out very well.

1st (3) ![]() Somespring Special |
4/5(+71%) | (3) Somespring Special 4/5, Scored last April at Plumpton and Cheltenham for Anthony Honeyball but he came in only 10th on his sole start for Chris Gordon in 2m4f Lingfield handicap in July. Starts out for a yard among the winners here off a lenient mark so not without interest. Out of form when last seen last summer but may have been refreshed by latest stable switch. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) ![]() Jaramillo |
3/1(-85%) | (1) Jaramillo 3/1, Scored at Sedgefield in September and matched his hurdles form on his chasing debut when third of 10 in 2m4f Southwell handicap in Decembr. Off since but he must enter calculations eased 1 lb. Dual hurdle winner; ran well from the front when placed on chase debut at Southwell. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) ![]() Pepe Le Moko |
11/4(-10%) | (2) Pepe Le Moko 11/4, Yet to score this term and he came in only sixth of 8 in handicap chase at Warwick (20f, soft) 31 days ago. Proving expensive to follow despite a falling mark. Penultimate run hinted at possible return to form but he was lacklustre last time. |
Jaramillo finished a creditable third on his chasing bow at Southwell and is likely to prove popular with progress on the cards, but a chance can be taken on SOMESPRING SPECIAL. Her last few performances haven't been anything to write home about, but she starts out for the Philip Hobbs and Johnson White team from a competitive mark. She has gone well fresh and ground conditions will be no problem. Pepe Le Moko is also noted.
Not the easiest race to asess and it could be worth siding with the returning SOMESPRING SPECIAL to capitalise on a handy mark now starting out with the in-form Philip Hobbs and Johnson White team. Jaramillo rates the pick of the remaining trio if, as expected, building on an encouraging chasing debut third at Southwell.
The one with least to prove is JARAMILLO, who is not bred for fences but made a pretty good start to his chasing career in December.

1st (1) ![]() Avarice |
15/2(+0%) | (1) Avarice 15/2, Showed more than of late when fifth of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (12.2f, 20/1) 3 weeks ago, keeping on when edged left/met some trouble over 1f out. Cheekpieces back on and the market should guide expectations. Has C&D form; shaped as if retaining ability latest; of interest dropped to a classified. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) ![]() Nasim |
11/2(+54%) | (7) Nasim 11/2, Course winner. Tongue strap on for 1st time, wasn't seen to best effect and finished a bit closer than for a while when fifth of 9 in handicap at this course (10f, AW, 9/2) just over 5 weeks ago, no room 2f out. Needs to build on that dropped into this company for the first time. Has run well at 1m3f in better races than this; trip query upped to 1m4f; classified debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) ![]() National Health |
12/1(-200%) | (8) National Health 12/1, Shaped much better than the bare result when sixth of 9 in minor event (15/8) at Wolverhampton (12.2f) 9 days ago, finishing with running left after not clear run from early in straight. Merits consideration granted better luck. Maiden; several good AW runs of late, 2nd to Cosmic View in February; path blocked latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) ![]() Foinix |
13/2(-30%) | (4) Foinix 13/2, 9/1, best effort of the season when fourth of 12 in handicap at Chelmsford (13.3f) 25 days ago. Not taken lightly back in this grade. Two 1m4f classified wins on turf in August; first run at this level since; can be involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) ![]() Walk The Moon |
11/1(-100%) | (9) Walk The Moon 11/1, Remains a maiden after 18 Flat runs. 7/2, ran a typical race when second of 9 in minor event at Wolverhampton (12.2f) 9 days ago, no match for winner. Solid Tapeta form this year but dropped out in sole Polytrack run, over C&D last summer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) ![]() Cosmic View |
7/2(+42%) | (2) Cosmic View 7/2, Finally off the mark in 11-runner minor event at Wolverhampton (12.2f, 14/1) 6 weeks ago by ½ length from National Health, leading again final 100 yds Has good chance on form. Chequered career but has C&D form and off the mark over 1m4f at Wolverhampton latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (12) ![]() Sapphire Sirocco |
9/1(+64%) | (12) Sapphire Sirocco 9/1, Had her work cut out from her position in a steadily-run race after 3 months off when fifth of 10 in minor event at this C&D (AW, 13/2) 59 days ago. Not without hope in this grade. Lightly raced; poorly positioned when well adrift here latest; probably capable of better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) ![]() Dee's Dream |
10/1(0%) | (3) Dee's Dream 10/1, One win from 24 Flat runs. 5/2, below form back down in trip when fifth of 7 in minor event at Newcastle (10.2f) 11 days ago. Others more persuasive. 0-13 on AW but useful 1m4f third at Newcastle in January and she acts on Polytrack. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) ![]() Honrado |
9/2(+50%) | (11) Honrado 9/2, 15/8, wasn't in the same form as previously when seventh of 9 in handicap at this course (10f, AW) just over 5 weeks ago. Claims on 1m4f form here and on turf in 2024; ahead of Largo Bay over C&D in January. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) ![]() Emperor Dream |
125/1(-89%) | (10) Emperor Dream 125/1, Ninth of 12 in handicap at this course (10f, AW, 33/1) 2 months ago. Looks of little account. Had very few chances but his form needs a boost on these unfavourable terms. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (5) ![]() Largo Bay |
14/1(-56%) | (5) Largo Bay 14/1, Respectable third of 10 in minor event (7/1) at this C&D (AW) 59 days ago, well positioned. Cheekpieces back on. Four course wins; excuses for recent defeats; cheekpieces refitted; thereabouts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (6) ![]() Mi Sueno |
200/1(-203%) | (6) Mi Sueno 200/1, Continued out of sorts when last of 8 in handicap hurdle at Lingfield (16f, heavy, 40/1) just under 6 weeks ago. Can only be watched. Two hurdle wins last spring but has gone off the rails since, including on turf/AW. |
COSMIC VIEW showed his appreciation for the drop out of handicaps when beating National Health in a similar event to this at Wolverhampton. That return to form could also have been prompted by the reapplication of cheekpieces and he will be hard to reel in, especially now his confidence has been buoyed. Largo Bay has made the frame in two appearances in classified company this year and has to be feared. National Health was behind Walk The Moon when favourite last time, but got no luck and can be forgiven.
COSMIC VIEW belatedly opened his account dropped into this company for the first time at Wolverhampton 6 weeks ago and he's fancied to follow up at the expense of Foinix, who turned in his best effort of the season when fourth at Chelmsford last month and can build on that back in this grade. National Health, who was narrowly beaten by the selection last month and finished a luckless sixth last time, rounds off the shortlist.
This is open but perhaps COSMIC VIEW can add to his recent Wolverhampton win over National Health and Walk The Moon.

1st (4) ![]() Basman Palace |
5/2(+64%) | (4) Basman Palace 5/2, Has gone backwards since finishing fourth of 12 (Taunton, 16.5f) on handicap debut last April, faring no better when a well-held eighth of 15 at this course in January. Steps back up in trip after 67-day absence and has a bit to prove at present. 0-9 over hurdles and needs to find something extra over this new trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) ![]() Prairie Queen |
18/1(+28%) | (9) Prairie Queen 18/1, Poor form at best in bumpers and over hurdles, looking a hard ride (hung badly right) when fifth of 10 in 19.5f Bangor handicap in February and ran even worse when well-beaten at Exeter (18.5f) 17 days ago. Races from 3 lb out of handicap and is difficult to fancy, Ran well for a long way two starts ago but was quickly back in the doldrums last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) ![]() Flash In The Pan |
17/2(-6%) | (3) Flash In The Pan 17/2, Showed glimpses of ability in his qualifying runs, latest effort a respectable fourth of 9 in juvenile hurdle at Taunton (16.5f, good), but remains to be seen whether that proves strong form. Needs to find improvement now stepped up in trip on handicap debut. Just a modest fourth in a junior hurdle this month; improvement needed on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) ![]() Mach Ten |
5/2(+17%) | (2) Mach Ten 5/2, Fair Flat maiden finished third in a Leicester maiden hurdle (15.5f) in December but disappointed on next couple of starts. Back on track when decent third in a handicap at Taunton (19f) 2 weeks ago, albeit off the bridle a long way out. Addition of visor should help and is one for the shortlist. Bettered poor handicap debut when third at Taunton this month; visor may aid more progress. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) ![]() Breccia |
4/1(+33%) | (7) Breccia 4/1, A fair winner at 17f on Flat and remains lightly raced in this sphere, fourth of 8 on handicap hurdle debut at Newton Abbot back in August. Ran quite well over 2m1f on last year's handicap hurdle debut; 2m Flat winner in December. |

40/1(-300%) | (8) Bradman 40/1, Dual winner of 1½m AW handicaps on the Flat for Charlie Fellowes last winter but no short-term promise to glean from 3 hurdle runs for new stable in recent months. Needs to improve significantly for step up in trip and switch to handicaps. Dual Flat winner; well beaten at big odds on all three hurdling starts; up in trip today. |

18/1(+45%) | (5) J'ventile 18/1, Little impact in a variety of events, latest when pulled-up on chase debut 6 months ago. Makes limited appeal returning to hurdles sporting a first-time hood. Pulled up in first two handicaps (hurdle/chase); returns from seven-month absence today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) ![]() Albert Park |
7/1(-40%) | (1) Albert Park 7/1, Fairly useful ex-Irish Flat maiden finished a creditable third in 16.5f Market Rasen handicap hurdle last June before finding stiff track probably against him at Hexham later that month. Likely needed the run on reappearance 2 weeks ago and entitled to be in the mix if he can step forward. Placed twice off higher marks last spring and might have needed recent return run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) ![]() Crest Of Honour |
16/1(-14%) | (10) Crest Of Honour 16/1, Limited signs of ability to date, lacking fluency in his jumping. Cheekpieces fitted for handicap debut but looks up against it from 4 lb out of the handicap. Did not show much in four junior hurdles in the autumn but may improve in handicaps. |
Third seemed unlikely for MACH TEN when under pressure before four out at Taunton, so it was to his credit that he was able to stay on in the closing stages. Talented conditional Callum Pritchard takes off a handy 5lb and, with a visor applied for the first time, it would come as no surprise were he to find the necessary improvement. Flash In The Pan should benefit from a stiffer test of stamina on his handicap bow and must enter the reckoning along with Breccia, who wasn't disgraced on the Flat latest.
In a modest event, GORCOMBE MOONSHINE may well be suited by stepping up in trip and he can bounce back from a rare disappointing effort to record his first hurdles success. Breccia is lightly-raced in this sphere and wouldn't need to improve much to take a hand in the finish, while Mach Ten could well have more to offer now fitted with a first-time visor.
Preference is for ALBERT PARK, who is quite well handicapped on last spring's 2m form and might have needed his recent run.

1st (10) ![]() The Ormer Gatherer |
80/1(+20%) | (10) The Ormer Gatherer 80/1, First run since leaving Mrs A. Malzard when 200/1, pulled up in novice hurdle at Ludlow (15.8f, good to soft) on NH debut 151 days ago, struck into when. Off 151 days. Poor on last Flat run. 0-18 under rules and has only been placed once; hard to make a case for him. |

2nd (11) ![]() Venus Slipper |
17/2(-143%) | (11) Venus Slipper 17/2, Modest filly. Didn't need to improve to win 9-runner handicap (6/1) at this C&D (AW) 36 days ago, always holding on. Merits consideration. Made it 14th-time lucky in a 0-55 handicap over C&D last month; ought to go well again. |

5th (12) ![]() We'renotreallyhere |
16/1(0%) | (12) We'renotreallyhere 16/1, Poor gelding. Course winner. 10/1, last of 11 in handicap at Chelmsford City (8f) 16 days ago. Back up in trip. Drops to this level for the first time, but latest efforts raise doubts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) ![]() Mr Trick |
10/1(-18%) | (7) Mr Trick 10/1, Modest gelding. Sixth of 8 in handicap (18/1) at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 10 days ago. Blinkers back on. Each-way claims on form, but a record of 3-53 means that others are preferred for the win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) ![]() Brinton |
7/1(-75%) | (2) Brinton 7/1, Modest filly. Winner at Southwell in February. Creditable second of 11 in minor event at Wolverhampton (8.6f, 5/1) 7 days ago. Has good chance on form. Consistent since returned to AW; slight stamina doubt, but should stay on this sharp track. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) ![]() Danehill Star |
9/2(+31%) | (4) Danehill Star 9/2, Modest gelding. C&D winner. Latest win at Newcastle in March. 9/2, creditable third of 11 in minor event at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 7 days ago. Respected. C&D winner, but he has finished behind Brinton on all three occasions they have met. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) ![]() Poles Apart |
5/1(+38%) | (8) Poles Apart 5/1, Modest gelding. 11/2, creditable fifth of 9 in handicap at Chelmsford City (8f) 30 days ago. Up in trip. Others more persuasive. From a respected stable, but now 0-13 and stamina a big question over this far. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) ![]() Iftikhaar |
11/2(+45%) | (5) Iftikhaar 11/2, Modest gelding. Remains a maiden after 27 Flat runs. Respectable fifth of 12 in minor event at Southwell (8.1f, 10/1) 20 days ago. Back up in trip. Now 0-27 and has the widest draw. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (3) ![]() Crazy Maisie |
66/1(-32%) | (3) Crazy Maisie 66/1, Eleven runs since last win in 2023. Last of 10 in handicap at this C&D (AW, 50/1) 61 days ago, very slowly away. Hasn't shown any worthwhile form in over a year; hard to fancy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (6) ![]() Laurentia |
5/1(+29%) | (6) Laurentia 5/1, Modest mare. C&D winner. 12/1, good second of 11 in handicap at Chelmsford City (8f) 16 days ago. Back up in trip. Not taken lightly. Six AW wins including three here; needs a good pace to run at, but she may well get it. |
BRINTON maintained her excellent level of consistency when occupying the runner-up berth at Wolverhampton last week, finishing a position and more than a length ahead of Danehill Star. She tackles a mile and a quarter for the first time, but her reliability earns her the nod. Venus Slipper broke her duck with a C&D triumph in handicap company so should be a force at this level. Laurentia also slips down into a classified event, on the back of a close-up Chelmsford second.
BRINTON came from much further back than the others in the frame when second in a similar event at Wolverhampton last week so tops the shortlist ahead of Venus Slipper and Laurentia.
The choice is three-time course winner LAURENTIA who ran very well when runner-up over an inadequate 1m last time.

1st (1) ![]() Queen All Star |
11/4(-38%) | (1) Queen All Star 11/4, Promising sort. One win from 2 runs last year. 9/4, third of 8 in novice at Goodwood (6f, good). Off 7 months. Should progress again and the one to beat under a penalty. Win and good third in her two 2yo runs and she sets the standard on return; key player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) ![]() Our Planet |
85/40(+65%) | (3) Our Planet 85/40, €220,000 yearling, Earthlight colt. Half-brother to several winners, including smart winner up to 1m Primo Bacio and useful 7f/1m winner Smile of Love. Dam 7f winner who stayed 1m. 16/1, sixth of 12 in novice at Kempton (7f) on debut. Off 159 days. Down in trip. Should have more to offer. Showed promise on Kempton debut (7f) in October and he needs watching in market on return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) ![]() Vamp |
7/2(+0%) | (7) Vamp 7/2, £85,000 yearling, Mehmas filly. Dam 6.5f winner in France (later raced in US) who stayed 9.5f. 22/1, sixth of 11 in maiden at Kempton (6f) on debut. Off 9 months. May well do better. Showed ability on her Kempton debut (6f) last summer; needs checking in market on comeback. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) ![]() Alondra |

5th (5) ![]() Bint Elnadim Star |
17/2(-143%) | (5) Bint Elnadim Star 17/2, Dark Angel filly. Closely related to 6f winner Hello Queen. Dam, winner up to 5.5f (including at 2 yrs), half-sister to useful 5f-6f winner Red Pike. One to note. Plenty to like on paper and needs a close look on debut; owner also runs Queen All Star. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) ![]() Art Of Fox |
9/1(+44%) | (2) Art Of Fox 9/1, Mehmas gelding. Half-brother to 1¼m winner Fox Avatar. Dam 2-y-o 5f/6f winner. 12/1, sixth of 8 in novice at this course (7.2f) on debut 16 days ago, doing too much too soon. Down in trip. Likely to improve. Went off too fast on recent 7f debut and he looks interesting on this drop in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) ![]() Hyzenthlay Rah |
200/1(-300%) | (6) Hyzenthlay Rah 200/1, 3,500 gns yearling, Rumble Inthejungle filly. Half-sister to several winners, including 7f-1m winner Sea Chariot and winner up to 7f If I Say So. Dam winner up to 7f (2-y-o 6f winner). 3,500gns yearling; has fair standard to aim at on debut and is best watched. |
QUEEN ALL STAR made a winning debut over 6f at Windsor in August and was far from disgraced when third under a penalty at Goodwood later that month. Jack Channon's filly could prove to be too good for this field on her return to action. Our Planet and Vamp both showed ability on their racecourse bows and have to be of interest, while any market support for Bint Elnadim Star must be noted.
QUEEN ALL STAR should have the speed for this trip so looks the one to beat as she bids to defy a penalty on her return. Vamp offered something to work on in a decent maiden at Kempton in June so is a potential threat along with the usefully-bred newcomer Bint Elnadim Star.
The vote goes to QUEEN ALL STAR, who sets the standard on her return and is open to more progress on this drop to 5f.

1st (6) ![]() L'immortale |
11/2(+8%) | (6) L'immortale 11/2, First run since leaving Thomas Dowling in Ireland when creditable second of 9 in minor event (5/2) at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 7 days ago. Didn't look the easiest of rides on that occasion and refitted cheekpieces may help. Thereabouts. Runner-up on stable debut last time, but now 1-17 and more is needed. |

2nd (1) ![]() Big Narstie |
14/1(-133%) | (1) Big Narstie 14/1, Quirky sort. Course winner. 15/8, first run since leaving Mick Appleby when fifth of 8 in classified event at Wolverhampton (7f) 13 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Five wins over 7f/1m on the AW; hasn't shone in two previous goes over this far. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) ![]() Sunset In Paris |
16/1(-60%) | (10) Sunset In Paris 16/1, Won 2 AW classified events last summer. Lost his form subsequently but took a step back in the right direction when fourth of 9 in classified event at Wolverhampton last time. Claims if he can build on that. Four wins at this level last year including two over C&D; better effort last time; player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) ![]() Sir Laurence Graff |
7/2(+56%) | (8) Sir Laurence Graff 7/2, C&D winner in September. 15/2, creditable fourth of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 21 days ago, running on. Merits consideration. Return here looks to be a positive (0122); shortlist material. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) ![]() Sun Festival |
20/1(-67%) | (9) Sun Festival 20/1, Twelve runs since last win in 2023. Eighth of 9 in classified event at Wolverhampton (9.5f, 10/3) 28 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Twice second at Wolverhampton before finishing lame last time; each-way claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) ![]() Fascinating Lips |
2/1(+43%) | (3) Fascinating Lips 2/1, C&D winner. Blinkered first time, good second of 8 in handicap (11/2) at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 21 days ago. Good shout if the headgear works as well a second time. 2-5 over C&D and drops to this level for the first time; high on the list back here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) ![]() Rainbow Sign |
18/1(-29%) | (7) Rainbow Sign 18/1, Course winner. Two wins from 49 runs. 7/2, respectable fourth of 8 in classified event at this course (1m) 36 days ago. Back up in trip. Seems best at shorter while a record of 2-49 does sound a note of caution. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) ![]() Fullforward |
9/2(+0%) | (4) Fullforward 9/2, Latest win at Brighton in October. 10/1, creditable third of 9 in handicap at this course (1½m) 19 days ago. Visor back on. 0-16 on the AW and this trip looks on the sharp side for him now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) ![]() Vitruvian Dawn |
80/1(-220%) | (11) Vitruvian Dawn 80/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 50/1, tenth of 12 in handicap at Chelmsford (13f) 25 days ago. Back down in trip. Hasn't beaten many in five outings over 1m-1m5f on the AW; hard to recommend. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) ![]() Cherry Hill |
28/1(-100%) | (2) Cherry Hill 28/1, Modest performer. 10/1, seventh of 11 in handicap at Southwell (1m) when last seen in December. Up in trip. Needs a couple of these to falter. Drops to this level for the first time, but this is her first attempt beyond 1m. |
Fascinating Lips finished a couple of places in front of Sir Laurence Graff when second in a Wolverhampton handicap and, in theory, this should be easier but he hasn't managed to get his head in front since September 2022. L'immortale made a pleasing beginning for the Jack Jones team when runner-up at Dunstall Park last week, but FULLFORWARD has been acquitting himself well over 1m4f in handicap company and may just prove too strong at the business end.
FASCINATING LIPS reacted well to blinkers when second at Wolverhampton last time and is taken to resume winning ways. Sir Laurence Graff goes well here and shaped as if still in form when finishing a couple of places behind the selection at Wolverhampton and is second choice ahead of L'immortale.
The selection is FASCINATING LIPS (nap) who is 2-5 over C&D and who drops into one of these for the first time.

9/4(+10%) | (2) Green Team 9/4, Didn't need to improve to win 7-runner handicap at this course (12.2f, 11/2) 9 days ago, well positioned. Can go well again. Bounced back with a strong-finishing win here (1m4f) last Saturday and he's a key player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) ![]() Wannabe Brave |
9/2(-100%) | (1) Wannabe Brave 9/2, Course winner. Four wins from 8 runs last year. Latest win at Lingfield in September. Creditable second of 6 in handicap (10/3) at Chelmsford City (14f). Off 165 days. Has to be taken seriously. Four AW wins last year and he's respected back on Tapeta on his return. |

3rd (5) ![]() Incan Empire |
5/1(-25%) | (5) Incan Empire 5/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 10/1, creditable fourth of 10 in handicap at this course (12.2f) 51 days ago. Very lightly raced 4yo but he needs improvement on this step up to 1m6f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) ![]() Fashionelle |
5/1(+29%) | (6) Fashionelle 5/1, Lightly-raced winner on Flat. Course winner. Winner here in January. Fair winner at 20f over hurdles. Creditable third of 10 in handicap at Southwell (14.1f, 12/1) 13 days ago. Hurdle and Flat winner who was placed over C&D last time; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) ![]() Show No Fear |
10/3(+52%) | (3) Show No Fear 10/3, Latest win at Newcastle in February. Last of 6 in handicap (15/2) at Newcastle (16.2f) 12 days ago. Visor back on. Others more persuasive. Emphatic win at Newcastle (2m) last month but was disappointing back there last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) ![]() Sea Appeal |
20/1(-25%) | (4) Sea Appeal 20/1, 7/2, second of 5 in handicap at this C&D. Off 20 months. First run for yard after leaving Richard Hughes. Returns after a long absence and he's probably best watched on stable debut. |
Green Team has to be of interest following his 1m4f success at Wolverhampton earlier in the month. That said, marginal preference is for WANNABE BRAVE, who was second off this mark when last seen at Chelmsford in October and that followed a victory at Lingfield the month before. Others who merit places on the shortlist are Fashionelle and Incan Empire.
GREEN TEAM and Wannabe Brave makes the most appeal with the race-fit Green Team shading the vote.
Top of the list is GREEN TEAM, who won here last Saturday and is a big player again if he can repeat that form back up in trip.

1st (2) ![]() Kate O'riley |
6/5(+47%) | (2) Kate O'riley 6/5, Thrice-raced winner. 13/2, won 12-runner maiden at this course (8.6f) in November, despite looking unsuited by the drop in trip. This significantly longer trip should suit on handicap debut. Open to improvement. Won here in November and she looks interesting now upped to 1m4f on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) ![]() Ray Gun |
3/1(+10%) | (4) Ray Gun 3/1, Winner at Kempton (1½m) in February. Good second over C&D and at Southwell since. No reason why he won't go well again. Kempton winner who went close at Southwell (1m4f) last Saturday; respected up 2lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) ![]() Tuscan Star |
9/4(+100%) | (1) Tuscan Star 9/4, Maiden/novice winner who improved again to complete an AW hat-trick in 2025 on 11f Kempton handicap debut 26 days ago. Looks capable of even better so a 4 lb rise may not stop him. Ran green in sole 2yo run but he's 3-3 this year and is open to more progress; big player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) ![]() Magna Gee Gee |
17/2(+39%) | (3) Magna Gee Gee 17/2, Course winner over 9.5f in December. 2¾ lengths fifth of 6 to Tuscan Star in handicap at Kempton (11f, 17/2) 26 days ago. 5 lb better off with Andrew Balding's charge now but it doesn't look enough. Won on handicap debut here in November but he's not gone on from that in two runs since. |
Cases can be made for all of these but none more so than TUSCAN STAR, who has won three times this year already and a 4lb rise for the most recent of those triumphs may still underestimate him. The progressive Kate O'Riley has to be noted on her handicap debut having got off the mark at Wolverhampton in November. Ray Gun edges out Magna Gee Gee to be next best.
TUSCAN STAR was quite a comfortable winner on his Kempton handicap debut last month and a 4 lb rise doesn't look enough to prevent him making it a perfect 4-4 in 2025. This trip should suit November's course maiden winner Kate O'Riley and she can follow Andrew Balding's charge home in a race of interest despite the small field.
Preference is for TUSCAN STAR, who has found stacks of improvement with his three wins this year. Kate O'Riley is feared most.

40/1(-21%) | (9) Rebelsontherun 40/1, AW winner for Michael O'Callaghan in Ireland last February but lost his way badly in 3 subsequent starts. Best watched on return for a new yard unless the betting hints otherwise. Lost his way in Ireland and has lots to prove on return for new yard; equipment removed. |
ASH WEDNESDAY returned to winning ways over C&D on his latest outing and is quickly turned out under a 5lb penalty. Heather Main's four-year-old continues to rise up the ranks and boasts every chance of going in again. City Cyclone filled the runner-up spot at Kempton earlier in the month and remains on a workable mark so has to be respected, along with the hat-trick seeking Bobby Joe Leg.
The return to 7f looks sure to suit G'DAAY, who is back on a favourable mark and might be worth siding with to see off thriving pair Ash Wednesday and Bobby Joe Leg.
The most striking contender is ASH WEDNESDAY (nap), who made it four wins from his last five runs when scoring over C&D last Monday.

1st (10) ![]() Jungle Land |
4/1(+60%) | (10) Jungle Land 4/1, 9/1, seventh of 9 in handicap at Nottingham (5f, soft). Off 138 days and back up in trip. Needs a couple of these to falter. 0-6 in handicaps and has tough draw back on AW on his return; down the list. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) ![]() Supreme King |
9/2(+18%) | (7) Supreme King 9/2, Career best when winning 11-runner handicap (16/5) at Kempton (6f) 19 days ago. Appeared to have a fair bit left up his sleeve there, so a 4 lb rise may not stop him. Has won two of his last five starts and he was as good as ever at Kempton (6f) last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (11) ![]() Rebel Path |
14/1(+13%) | (11) Rebel Path 14/1, Latest win at Chelmsford City in February. Fourth of 7 in handicap (5/2) at Chelmsford City (5f) 30 days ago. Back up in trip and needs to raise his game. Two wins during the winter but wasn't at his best last time and he has a tough draw here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) ![]() Ziggy's Condor |
10/3(+5%) | (6) Ziggy's Condor 10/3, 3/1 and visored for 1st time, career best when winning 9-runner handicap at Southwell (6.1f) 24 days ago, always holding on. 3 lb rise fair enough and he should be on the premises once again. Ended a lengthy losing run when making all at Southwell; respected off 3lb higher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) ![]() Twilight Romance |
9/2(+63%) | (5) Twilight Romance 9/2, Respectable fifth of 10 in handicap at this C&D (12/1) 16 days ago, slowly away. Can give a good account without posing serious threat to principals. Sole win was as a 2yo but he was an eyecatcher over C&D last time; in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) ![]() American Bay |
28/1(-155%) | (8) American Bay 28/1, Winner at Redcar in September. Respectable fifth of 9 in handicap (9/4) at Chelmsford City (6f), nearest finish. Off 163 days ahead of this tapeta/yard debut. Others look stronger. Still unexposed on AW but he needs to find more on return for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) ![]() Many A Star |
11/2(+45%) | (1) Many A Star 11/2, C&D winner. Latest win at Southwell in February. 16/1, respectable fifth of 11 in handicap at Southwell (6.1f) 10 days ago, finishing with running left. Eased in class here but others are more appealing for win purposes nonetheless. Three 6f wins this year and he didn't get any luck in a Class 2 last time; possibilities. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) ![]() Gunfighter |
16/1(-14%) | (3) Gunfighter 16/1, Course winner. 12/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, fifth of 7 in handicap at Chester (7f, good). Off 8 months. First run for yard after leaving Hugo Palmer and looks vulnerable off present mark. Still above his last winning mark and has something to prove back at 6f for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) ![]() Blind Beggar |
9/1(+25%) | (4) Blind Beggar 9/1, Eleven runs since last win in 2024. Fifth of 7 in handicap at Southwell (5f, 17/2) 23 days ago, running on. Back up in trip and he's not without each-way hope. Plenty of good runs since October and he's respected back up in trip. |
Supreme King went in by a length at Kempton on his most recent start and is likely to have his supporters off only a 4lb higher rating. However, it may pay to side with ZIGGY'S CONDOR, who appreciated the application of a visor when making all at Southwell and a 3lb rise might underestimate his authority that day. With a repeat of that performance, he could prove tough to beat. Gressington is more than capable at this level and is another to note on his return to action.
The return to 6f will, if anything, be a good thing for BRAZILIAN ROSE, who scored three times on the bounce over this trip at Newcastle in January. She was just touched off in a 7f handicap there recently and remains on a workable mark following a 1 lb nudge. Supreme King did the job well at Kempton earlier this month and a 4 lb rise looks more than manageable, so he is greatly respected. Gressington and Ziggy's Condor are others to consider.
A competitive race in which the vote goes to BRAZILIAN ROSE, who is 4-10 on AW and had a near miss at Southwell last time.

1st (3) ![]() Shamardia |
6/1(+45%) | (3) Shamardia 6/1, C&D winner. 18/1, good second of 10 in handicap at Chelmsford City (7f) 16 days ago, no match for winner. Likely to be on the premises once again. Clear second at Chelmsford and has claims if she can back that up off an unchanged mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) ![]() Papa Don't Preach |
7/1(+13%) | (6) Papa Don't Preach 7/1, Course winner. Creditable second of 10 in handicap at Chelmsford City (6f, 4/1) 16 days ago, slowly away. Place possibilities. Has ordinary strike-rate but he's gone close over C&D and at Chelmsford in last two runs. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) ![]() Gis A Sub |
25/1(-25%) | (1) Gis A Sub 25/1, Seventh of 9 in handicap (7/1) at Pontefract (6f, good to firm). Off 6 months and it's probably best to look elsewhere on this occasion. Struggled in his final two runs last year and has something to prove after six months off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) ![]() Southbank |
9/2(+44%) | (2) Southbank 9/2, C&D winner. Four wins from 17 runs last year. Below form third of 6 in handicap at Chelmsford City (6f, 7/4) 11 days ago, left poorly placed. Has to be taken seriously. Won at Chelmsford in December and he had a tough task there last time; in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) ![]() Radiant Angel |
17/2(-55%) | (4) Radiant Angel 17/2, 11/1, didn't need to improve to win 11-runner handicap at this C&D 27 days ago, slowly away. 3 lb rise fair enough and he's in with an each-way shout. Made his breakthrough over C&D last month and a 3lb rise looks fair; shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) ![]() Raft Up |
2/1(+43%) | (8) Raft Up 2/1, 7/2, won 11-runner handicap at Newcastle (6f) 18 days ago. 3 lb rise by no means harsh and should make a bold bid to complete the hat-trick. Made it 2-2 in a hood when completing a Newcastle double 18 days ago; big player again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) ![]() Heartrate |
9/2(-29%) | (9) Heartrate 9/2, 7/2, didn't need to improve to win 9-runner handicap at this C&D 35 days ago. Nudged 3 lb and won't be far away if in a similar mood. Snapped a long losing run over C&D last month; up 3lb but has claims if he gets some luck. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) ![]() Red Walls |
16/1(+36%) | (10) Red Walls 16/1, Five-time course winner. Three wins from 21 runs last year. Creditable fourth of 8 in handicap at this C&D (22/1) 7 days ago. Looks vulnerable. Ten-time AW winner who ran well over C&D latest and he could make a bold bid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) ![]() Carmarthen |
40/1(-60%) | (7) Carmarthen 40/1, C&D winner. 28/1, first run since leaving Jack Channon when seventh of 11 in handicap at Hamilton (5f, good). Off 6 months and needs to get back on track now upped in trip. One win from 11 starts and has something to prove after six months off. |
A few of these arrive in excellent form but perhaps none more so than RAFT UP, who is two from two since having a hood applied last month. His latest Newcastle success was cosier than the margin of victory would suggest, and the hat-trick looks a very real possibility from a 3lb higher mark. Heartrate and Radiant Angel, both on target over C&D recently, ought to go close again. Papa Don't Preach, who was narrowly denied at Chelmsford last time out, is another to consider.
SOUTHBANK is a solid operator at this level and is taken to deservedley get his head back in front. He wasn't seen to best effect at Chelmsford but still managed to finish third and has twice found just one too good off slightly higher marks than this over C&D in recent months. The hat-trick seeking Raft Up is next on the list ahead of fellow last-time-out winners Heartrate and Radiant Angel.
The vote goes to the resurgent RAFT UP, who made it 2-2 in a hood when completing a Newcastle double 18 days ago.

1st (1) ![]() Mr Baloo |
13/8(+51%) | (1) Mr Baloo 13/8, Gained a second win of 2025 with a career best in 10-runner handicap at Newcastle (7.1f) 11 days ago. Back up in trip and anonther bold showing is on the cards despite a 2 lb rise. Made it 4-11 on AW with last-gasp win at Newcastle 11 days ago; respected off 2lb higher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) ![]() Paradoxical |
3/1(-33%) | (4) Paradoxical 3/1, 5-time course winner. latest coming in 10-runner handicap at this C&D 7 days ago, despite conceding first run. A likely player under a 5 lb penalty. Improver who has won here in his last four starts; big player under another penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) ![]() Caelan |
12/1(-100%) | (7) Caelan 12/1, Course winner who really caught the eye when fifth of 7 in handicap (40/1) at Southwell (11.1f) 20 days ago, running on late under considerate handling. Very much one to consider back down in trip. On dangerous mark and he caught the eye of the stewards at Southwell last time; in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) ![]() Eden Storm |
11/1(+56%) | (8) Eden Storm 11/1, Course winner. 12/1, respectable third of 6 in handicap at this C&D 10 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time and needs considering. Dual course winner but both wins were in 2023 and he didn't really fire over C&D last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) ![]() Hitched |
11/1(-10%) | (5) Hitched 11/1, C&D winner. Last of 6 in handicap (4/1) at this C&D 10 days ago so needs to get back on track. Four wins during the winter but he was disappointing over C&D ten days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) ![]() Way To Dubai |
15/2(-25%) | (2) Way To Dubai 15/2, Fifteen runs since last win in 2023. First run since leaving Charlie Fellowes when a respectable third of 8 in handicap at Southwell (7.1f, 9/2) 10 days ago. Up in trip. Not taken lightly. Last win was in Germany in 2023 and he needs to find more back up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) ![]() High Point |
10/1(+29%) | (3) High Point 10/1, One win from 3 runs last year. First run since leaving Eve Johnson Houghton when seventh of 8 in handicap at Chelmsford City (8f, 20/1) 25 days ago. Makes tapeta debut with more required. Record of 3-6 on turf but he's been well held in three AW runs; down the list. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) ![]() How's The Guvnor |
12/1(-20%) | (6) How's The Guvnor 12/1, Creditable fourth of 14 in handicap (9/1) at Newbury (8f) 6 months ago on his final run for Clive Cox. Needs considering on his yard/tapeta debut. Unexposed on AW and he needs checking in market on return for new yard. |
PARADOXICAL continued his defiance of the handicapper with a narrow C&D victory last Monday and, like on that occasion, a penalty might not be enough to prevent Jennie Candlish's in-form gelding. If anybody can thwart the five-timer though, it might be Mr Baloo, who was only raised 2lb for a recent Newcastle success. The addition of first-time cheekpieces could aid Eden Storm, having been far from discredited when third over track and trip last time out.
A case can be made for virtually all of these but the vote goes to MR BALOO who is enjoying a fine start to the year and is weighted to bag a third success here. Recent C&D scorer Paradoxical heads the list of dangers, atlhough Caelan is also feared on the back of a promising Southwell fifth. Way To Dubai and Eden Storm need factoring in too.
The vote goes to progressive PARADOXICAL who has won six times since December including at this track in his last four runs.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance.
