1st (1) (9/1 -50%) Double Click |
9/1(-50%) | (1) Double Click 9/1, Dual hurdles winner who bounced back to form fitted with cheekpieces when runner-up at Leicester (15.5f) in January but headgear didn't work so well at Lingfield the following month. Needs to bounce back. Dual winner; can't be sure what to expect but ability is respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (3/1 +0%) Hawk Stone |
3/1(+0%) | (2) Hawk Stone 3/1, Showed improved form switched to a handicap when second in 11-runner event at Wincanton (15.2f, heavy) 14 days ago. Must enter calculations from only 1 lb higher. Lightly raced and chased home a well-backed favourite on handicap debut at Wincanton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (20/1 -25%) Mac Be Lucky |
20/1(-25%) | (7) Mac Be Lucky 20/1, Got off the mark at Sedgefield in May 2022 but ran poorly final 3 starts that season. Returns from 15 months off with plenty to prove. Off a long time but close to his winning mark and the yard won this last year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (7/2 -17%) Queen Of Steel |
7/2(-17%) | (8) Queen Of Steel 7/2, Poor maiden on the Flat and just a similar level as a hurdler, though pulled clear of the remainder behind a completely unexposed rival at Exeter (16.7f, heavy) last time. Can give another good account. Looked a non-stayer at 2m3f in her second handicap but placed in the other two at 2m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (13/2 +0%) My Granny Lily |
13/2(+0%) | (6) My Granny Lily 13/2, Suited by more patient tactics when off the mark in 11-runner handicap hurdle (15/2) at Ffos Las (15.8f, heavy) in February and shaped as if still in good form when third of 8 at Exeter (16.7f) subsequently. In form and should give her running but perhaps vulnerable off current mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (18/1 -50%) Naturally High |
18/1(-50%) | (5) Naturally High 18/1, Had to settle for a share of the spoils after proving wayward on run-in here (19.2f) on Boxing Day. Ran to a similar level when third at Huntingdon next time but checked out tamely in first-time cheekpieces back at Fontwell last time. Has left Gary Moore. Dead-heated at Fontwell on Boxing Day (2m3f, good to soft); well held next time; new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (8/1 +0%) Come To Pass |
8/1(+0%) | (4) Come To Pass 8/1, Modest handicapper on Flat (stays 10f) and similar form when in the frame both starts over hurdles, not unduly punished at Plumpton last time. Makes a quick switch to handicaps but opening mark demands more. Dual AW winner; beaten 20l in two hurdles and this mark is not obviously lenient. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (17/2 -42%) Dance Havana |
17/2(-42%) | (9) Dance Havana 17/2, Fair on the Flat and showed some aptitude for hurdling when placed in a pair of juveniles for Alice Haynes last summer. Easy to back and probably needed the run after 5 months off when fourth of 7 in a handicap at Taunton 3 weeks ago. Respected. Two Flat wins; stable debut when not getting home in a 2m3f handicap at Taunton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (8/1 +33%) Schelem |
8/1(+33%) | (3) Schelem 8/1, Winner of a juvenile event on debut in France back in September 2020 but has offered little both starts for current yard 16 months apart. Still early days but a good bit of guesswork involved to make a case. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
HAWK STONE put in a career best when finishing second on his handicap debut at Wincanton a couple of weeks ago and the unexposed five-year-old merits the utmost respect off a 1lb higher mark here. Queen Of Steel also found only one too strong on her most recent outing and is an obvious threat to the selection. My Granny Lily and Double Click should not be discounted either.
HAWK STONE took a step forward when runner-up on his handicap debut at Wincanton 2 weeks ago and is selected to go one better with the galloping nature of this track promising to suit him well. Dance Havana probably needed the run after 5 months off at Taunton 3 weeks ago and remains interesting from a lowly mark based on her Flat form, while My Granny Lily is expected to give another good account.
Harriet Dickin's HAWK STONE (nap) is a scopey sort who looks progressive after chasing home the right horse on his handicap debut.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (19) (10/3 +17%) Jeaniemacaroney |
10/3(+17%) | (19) Jeaniemacaroney 10/3, Lightly-raced maiden. Respectable seventh of 18 in juvenile hurdle (12/1) at Punchestown (16.2f, soft) 66 days ago. Shown ability in 4 hurdle runs; more required to get her head in front but can be involved. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (13) (5/1 -11%) Roboreti |
5/1(-11%) | (13) Roboreti 5/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 4/1 and blinkered for 1st time, fourth of 6 in juvenile hurdle at Fairyhouse (16f, heavy) 26 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Only narrowly denied in maiden hurdle last month; lesser effort in h'cap company since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (10/1 +9%) Mack The Chemist |
10/1(+9%) | (7) Mack The Chemist 10/1, Mastercraftsman gelding. Half-brother to 6f winner Soller Bay. Dam unraced. One to note. Mastercraftsman gelding; related to winners on the level; market probably best guide. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (16) (12/1 -9%) Votre Homme |
12/1(-9%) | (16) Votre Homme 12/1, Fairly useful maiden on the Flat, making GB/IRE jumps debut. Second of 14 in handicap (8/1) at Down Royal (18f, good to firm). Off 6 months. One to note. 2nd on h'cap bow on Flat when last seen; can be a player if transforming all that ability. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

200/1(+0%) | (6) Kobalt St Georges 200/1, Once-raced maiden. Ninth of 13 in juvenile hurdle at Gowran (16f, heavy, 125/1) on NH debut 33 days ago. Showed nothing when 125-1 on debut at Gowran; may do better when stepped up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (200/1 +0%) Getting There |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (3) (100/1 +0%) Happy Me |
100/1(+0%) | (3) Happy Me 100/1, €3,500 3-y-o, Leading Light gelding. Dam, mid-division at best in bumpers, closely related to high-class hurdler/smart chaser (stayed 25f) L'Ami Serge. Leading Light gelding; 3,500eur 3yo; likely to need this on debut; may want further. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (1) (100/1 +0%) Burren Breeze |
100/1(+0%) | (1) Burren Breeze 100/1, Casamento gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to bumper winner Crystal Earth. Casamento gelding; dam half-sister to 2 bumper winners; unlikely to play a part on debut. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (18) (100/1 +0%) You're Kidding Me |
100/1(+0%) | (18) You're Kidding Me 100/1, Getaway gelding. Dam (h92), maiden hurdler (stayed 2½m), closely related to useful hurdler/high-class chaser (stayed 23f) Royal Rendezvous. Getaway gelding; dam sister to Centurion Steel; may want further and more time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
15th (5) (66/1 +0%) Kir Royal Blou |
66/1(+0%) | (5) Kir Royal Blou 66/1, €16,000 3-y-o, Stormy River gelding. Half-brother to 3 winners on Flat, including 8.5f-10.5f winner in France La Starton. Dam 11f winner in Germany. 16,000eur 3yo; one of three for that yard, probably second-string. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
16th (12) (25/1 -56%) Redcliff Glen |
25/1(-56%) | (12) Redcliff Glen 25/1, Fair maiden on the Flat, making GB/IRE jumps debut. 20/1, third of 13 in handicap at Bath (8f, soft). First run for yard after leaving Clive Cox. Placed twice on Flat in Britain on AW; not really bred for this; worth market check. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
17th (17) (200/1 +0%) Wing Back |
200/1(+0%) | (17) Wing Back 200/1, Twice-raced maiden. Tenth of 14 in juvenile hurdle at Navan (16f, heavy, 100/1) 19 days ago. Shown nothing in two starts at triple figure odds so far. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

33/1(+0%) | (20) Queenofthelodge 33/1, Soldier of Fortune filly. Closely related to bumper winner Penniless and modest chaser Lisloran, and half-sister to useful hurdler/chase winner Kissesforkatie. Soldier Of Fortune filly; closely related to 2 winners over further; may need further. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

25/1(-56%) | (8) Market House 25/1, Modest maiden on the Flat, making GB/IRE jumps debut. Tenth of 12 in maiden (125/1) at Leopardstown (12.8f, good). Off 9 months. Best of 3 Flat runs came when stepped up to 1m5f; related to jumps winners; interesting. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
JEANIEMACARONEY is a nine-race maiden but has shown glimpses of nice ability. Rated just 65 on the flat, she was beaten 22-lengths by Storm Heart in December but that rival was subsequently Grade 1-placed while third-placed Eagles Reign finished second at Cheltenham recently. The selection again ran quite nicely at Punchestown in January, in a race where Fred Winter-winner Lark In The Morning finishing third. Immutable was beaten 49 lengths on hurdling debut in January but is rated 92 on the flat and likes heavy ground. Despite being well held at Fairyhouse, he was with the leaders turning-in before tiring and being eased. He should improve from that run. Flat-bred Mack The Chemist is a half-brother to a German flat winner and could ideally prefer summer ground while soft-ground flat winner Pinot Gris had a flat rating of 83 but was well beaten at Gowran in February. Votre Homme's flat form is on a sound surface and is possibly best watched on jumps debut. Roboreti disappointed in first-time blinkers last month and has been upgraded to cheekpieces.
IMMUTABLE was looked after once his chance had gone starting out over hurdles at Fairyhouse and big improvement is expected at some point given his useful form on the Flat. Pinot Gris was progressive on the level so is worth another chance to build on his promising hurdles bow, while Mack The Chemist is a newcomer to keep an eye on.
This can go the way of ROBORETI (nap) who has achieved more than the rest of his rivals and may eke out a bit more

1st (2) (5/6 +9%) Go To War |
5/6(+9%) | (2) Go To War 5/6, Uttoxeter bumper winner last term and off the mark at the third time of asking over hurdles in C&D novice in December. Has had wind surgery in the 3 months since (also tongue tied first time). Should have more to offer. Comfortable win over C&D in December and he's a strong contender under a 7lb penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (5/4 +17%) Court In The Act |
5/4(+17%) | (1) Court In The Act 5/4, Bumper winner and translated that ability to hurdles, second at Hereford before going one better at Kempton (2m, good) on Boxing Day. Leading claims with further progress likely. Made all at Kempton on Boxing Day; leading claims if ground suits (unproven on slow going). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (20/1 -25%) Express Surprise |
20/1(-25%) | (4) Express Surprise 20/1, Runner-up sole outing in Irish point. Hinted at ability in a bumper and novice hurdle on first 2 starts under Rules. Unseated early latest. Probably more one for handicaps. Runner-up in Irish maiden point last February but yet to really shine under rules. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (100/1 +0%) Mambo Beat |
100/1(+0%) | (5) Mambo Beat 100/1, Fair on Flat (stays 1¼m) for Clive Cox but changed hands cheaply last autumn and has offered little in 2 hurdles for current yard. Flat winner but well beaten at massive odds on both hurdle starts (2m, good/soft). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (20/1 +0%) Take A Hike |
20/1(+0%) | (8) Take A Hike 20/1, Runner-up both completed starts in Irish points (latest Jan 21). Betting should guide on hurdle debut. Runner-up in two Irish mares' maiden points; no surprise to see a good run on rules debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (18/1 -29%) No More Bolero |
18/1(-29%) | (6) No More Bolero 18/1, Fairly useful Flat winner in Germany. Hinted at promise on his hurdle/yard debut at Sandown last month but disappointed with his finishing effort when only fifth at Huntingdon 4 weeks later. Useful Flat form on the continent but soundly beaten on first two hurdle starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (200/1 +0%) Bettwyn |
200/1(+0%) | (7) Bettwyn 200/1, Well held in a Bangor bumper last May and pulled up on 21f course hurdle debut 9 months later. Triple-figure odds and tailed off/pulled up on her two starts. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
GO TO WAR backed up the promise he showed on his debut at Taunton when putting a subsequent winner in their place by seven and a half lengths over C&D in December. Fergal O'Brien's six-year-old has since undergone wind surgery and, with further improvement likely in a first-time tongue-tie, he can defy his 7lb penalty. Court In The Act, who struck by a neck at Kempton on Boxing Day, has progressed nicely since joining the Harry Derham yard and also has to be considered. Of the remainder, Blueberry Wine appeals most.
It's likely this will develop into a straight fight between last-time-out hurdle winners COURT IN THE ACT and Go To War, with preference for the former.
Having won in good style over C&D on soft ground in December last time out, GO TO WAR is taken to defy a penalty and follow up.

1st (11) (9/4 -29%) Love Tree |
9/4(-29%) | (11) Love Tree 9/4, Runner-up twice in bumpers prior to scoring readily on her Ludlow hurdle debut just before Christmas. Hasn't built on that in 2 subsequent outings but it's still early days and a first-time hood may help her to settle better. Interesting on her winning form and perhaps a hood can enable her to get back on track. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (5/4 +9%) Largy Force |
5/4(+9%) | (8) Largy Force 5/4, Fetched £85,000 after winning sole point start in April 2022 and runner-up in a Catterick bumper and 2m Hereford maiden hurdle for her new connections. Capable of better and should make a bold bid here. Runner-up in both runs under rules and Chepstow should suit on a few counts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (12/1 +0%) Jackeline |
12/1(+0%) | (7) Jackeline 12/1, Well beaten in 2 bumpers but showed a bit when fourth on Lingfield hurdle debut in December. In process of running well when falling 3 out at Exeter 7 weeks later but well beaten at Bangor 3 weeks ago. Nice promise in two runs before looking unsuited by the heavy ground at Bangor. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (4/1 -14%) Miss Hunky Dory |
4/1(-14%) | (9) Miss Hunky Dory 4/1, Third on Exeter bumper debut on New Year's Day but the form is modest. Beaten a long way on Lingfield hurdle debut 6 weeks later but much better signs with a tongue strap added when second at Wincanton (15f, heavy) 14 days ago. This stiffer test could see her to better effect. Second in a weakish race at Wincanton; she's bred to come into her own over further. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (10/1 -43%) Coco Brave |
10/1(-43%) | (3) Coco Brave 10/1, Encouraging third on Exeter hurdle debut (17f, heavy) and looked set to be placed again when falling heavily at the last at Hereford (2m, soft) 25 days ago. Should be thereabouts if none the worse. Not far behind Largy Force when taking a late tumble at Hereford. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (100/1 +0%) Eile Tara |
100/1(+0%) | (5) Eile Tara 100/1, Well in 2 hurdles last spring and best to look elsewhere on this rather belated return to action. Beaten 102l and 35l in her first two maidens and she's hard to make a case for. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (100/1 -100%) Barbie Girlz |
100/1(-100%) | (1) Barbie Girlz 100/1, Poor form in a couple of Irish bumpers and no show in 2 hurdles for new yard. Has had wind surgery. Has no solid claims on her form in Ireland or Britain; returns from wind surgery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (100/1 -52%) Nan Brady |
100/1(-52%) | (10) Nan Brady 100/1, Pulled up only start in Irish points and no encouragement as yet under Rules. Well behind some of these on her last two starts and has been going off at big prices. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (100/1 +0%) Elyssia |
100/1(+0%) | (6) Elyssia 100/1, Has no more than hinted at ability in 2 bumpers this winter. Some promise in an AW bumper before finishing tailed off in another at Taunton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) (100/1 +0%) Bresilliantly So |
100/1(+0%) | (2) Bresilliantly So 100/1, Big prices when pulled up in novice hurdles over 3 months apart. First-time cheekpieces will need to transform her. A couple of non-completions at huge odds and headgear is soon turned to. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (100/1 +0%) Don't Cheddar Tear |
100/1(+0%) | (4) Don't Cheddar Tear 100/1, Tailed off in a course bumper on her debut 26 days ago. Can only watch after that. First foal from a staying chaser; 50-1 for heavy-ground bumper here and was tailed off. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
LARGY FORCE has filled second place on both of her starts under Rules and this appears to be an ideal opportunity for the Warren Greatrex-trained six-year-old to go one better. The drop in grade should help Love Tree after she was well held in Listed company at Doncaster and she should not be underestimated. Others to consider are Miss Hunky Dory and Coco Brave.
LARGY FORCE should have more to come on the back of her encouraging first effort over hurdles at Hereford last month so she gets the vote. Love Tree is second choice ahead of Ben Clarke's Wincanton runner-up Miss Hunky Dory.
The favourable impression that LOVE TREE made at Ludlow is not forgotten and she's taken to get back on track in a first-time hood.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (7/2 -5%) Big Stage |
7/2(-5%) | (1) Big Stage 7/2, 16/1, ran to a fair level when third of 6 in maiden at Punchestown (20.2f, heavy) on hurdles bow 29 days ago, held when blundering last. Should improve. Point winner, improved from a bumper run when third on hurdling debut, should go close. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (12) (11/2 -38%) Walk Away Harry |
11/2(-38%) | (12) Walk Away Harry 11/2, Bumper winner last April. 7/2, failed to build on previous promise when fifth of 8 in maiden hurdle at Limerick (21f, heavy) 3 months ago. Likely sort in this. Won 2m2f Punchestown festival bumper last April, hurdles form relatively unconvincing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (14) (50/1 -79%) Cappacurry Ealu |
50/1(-79%) | (14) Cappacurry Ealu 50/1, 40/1, hinted at temperament 4 months on from her debut when seventh of 9 in bumper at Naas (15.5f, heavy) 11 days ago. Makes hurdles debut. Up in trip. Promising in first bumper at Naas, failed to reproduce that form at same venue 11 days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (13/8 +7%) Cadoudal Saint |
13/8(+7%) | (2) Cadoudal Saint 13/8, Successful on sole outing in points but failed to land the odds in a Limerick bumper 3 months ago, not beaten far having set a steady pace. Warrants considerable respect now hurdling. Point winner, odds-on loser in a bumper when slow pace may not have suited, obvious chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (7/4 -17%) Killaney King |
7/4(-17%) | (6) Killaney King 7/4, Easy winner of his sole outing in points and made a promising hurdling debut when runner-up at Punchestown in December. Disappointing when tailed off at Navan (20f, heavy) next time, but he's worth another chance following a couple of months off. Second to a stablemate of Cadoudal Saint at Punchestown, moderate Navan run in January. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (80/1 -21%) Graigue Corner |
80/1(-21%) | (5) Graigue Corner 80/1, Soldier of Fortune gelding. Dam, placed in point/over hurdles (stayed 2½m), sister to fair hurdler/fairly useful chase winner around 2m Royal Flight. Successful on last of 7 starts in points (Feb 25). Was having his seventh run in points when winning at Lisronagh last month, vulnerable here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (250/1 +0%) Oneforbaz |
250/1(+0%) | (8) Oneforbaz 250/1, Yet to show any ability in 3 maiden hurdles. Massive prices on all three starts and has run accordingly, safe to rule out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (13) (80/1 -21%) West Clare |
80/1(-21%) | (13) West Clare 80/1, Showed modest form in bumpers in the first half of the 2022/23. 14/1, showed nothing making a belated hurdling bow when eighth of 13 in maiden at Thurles (20.6f, soft) 16 days ago. Fair bumpers form in 2022, entitled to need his recent hurdles debut but was tailed off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

250/1(+0%) | (9) Pharney Soldier 250/1, 150/1, showed nothing when pulled up in maiden hurdle at Limerick (16f, heavy) on debut 5 months ago. Up in trip. Tongue strap on for 1st time. Huge price when pulled up on debut at Limerick last October, tried with a tongue-tie now.. |

250/1(+0%) | (10) Play The Knave 250/1, Tailed off in bumper/maiden hurdles back in 2020/21. Can only be watched on return. Off since April 2021, impossible to fancy despite trainer's fine record with older horses. |

12th (7) (200/1 +0%) Kinski |
200/1(+0%) | (7) Kinski 200/1, Vision D'etat gelding. Half-brother to useful hurdler/fairly useful chase winner in France Kakoline and French 2¼m hurdle winner Kotkibed. Dam, maiden over hurdles/fences in France, half-sister to useful hurdler/smart chaser in France (stayed 21f) Kotkikova. Ninth foal, half-brother to two French winners, dam had weak form over hurdles. |

250/1(+0%) | (4) Glasgow Dan 250/1, Showed more than he had in points when fifth of 15 in maiden hurdle at Gowran (16f, heavy, 125/1) on NH debut 12 days ago. Up in trip. Not disgraced in fifth on hurdling debut at Gowran, this extra half-mile should help. |

|PU| (11) (25/1 -25%) The Pooka |
25/1(-25%) | (11) The Pooka 25/1, Walk In The Park gelding. Half-brother to fair hurdler Hot Rod Lincoln. Dam unraced half-sister to fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser who became temperamental (stayed 2½m) I Hear A Symphony. Won sole start in points (Nov 2023). Maiden point winner in November, runner-up Tory Hill has gone close on all three starts. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Point-to-point winner BIG STAGE ran well over this distance last month. He was reported by his rider to have hung left in the straight at Punchestown but was beaten by two useful types while the fourth-horse finished second subsequently. Cadoudal Saint won a point-to-point winner on debut for Gerald Quinn last February and again showed nice ability on bumper debut. He represents a yard in amazing form but returns from an 84-day break against an in-form selection. Another point winner Killaney King disappointed in a smart January maiden but previously ran well behind a capable type at Punchestown in December. Walk With Harry won a Punchestown festival bumper last April and ran well in a smart Cork maiden in March but returns from a break having disappointed last Christmas. Freeman Bay finished 3.75 lengths behind Cadoudal Saint during Christmas while The Pooka won a point for Riceal Dunne and has joined a new yard.
Only a handful of these make any serious appeal and it's KILLANEY KING who gets the nod to build on his debut promise at the second attempt. Cadoudal Saint failed to land the odds in a Limerick bumper over Christmas but warrants considerable respect for the red-hot Willie Mullins yard, with Big Stage and Walk Away Harry another couple fancied to be involved.
Gordon Elliott's BIG STAGE can be expected to build on his hurdling debut at Punchestown. He is just preferred to Cadoudal Saint

1st (4) (11/10 -21%) Malaita |
11/10(-21%) | (4) Malaita 11/10, Won back-to-back handicap hurdles at Carlisle and Cheltenham last term and holding her form well over fences this season, putting a Cheltenham fall behind her when runner-up at Ludlow last 2 starts. Big shout. Runner-up over C&D the last twice and a reproduction might be enough to win this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (3/1 +25%) Keep Running |
3/1(+25%) | (1) Keep Running 3/1, Better than ever sent chasing for his current yard this season, making all in novice handicap at Taunton. Can't have been right at Sandown and wasted no time getting back to form in a refitted tongue strap when third at Hereford. Stamina a slight concern up in trip (free-going front runner). Made all at Taunton in January and fair third at Hereford last time; in with a chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (7/2 -5%) Zertakt |
7/2(-5%) | (2) Zertakt 7/2, Low-mileage sort who landed 3 of his 6 starts in France. Acquired for €195,000 but ran poorly on UK debut at Ffos Las after 8 months off. Not seen since (13 months) but trainer rarely fails to find the key to her new recruits. Market should reveal expectations sent chasing. Returns from long absence but this three-time French hurdle winner could play leading role. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (7/1 -40%) Kings Keeper |
7/1(-40%) | (3) Kings Keeper 7/1, Irish import who made a good start for this yard in 2022/23, placing twice prior to scoring in decisive fashion over hurdles at Ffos Las. However, well held all 3 starts over fences this season. Change of headgear. Well handicapped on hurdle form but a long way below that level this season over fences. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
MALAITA has failed to justify favouritism in each of her last two starts over this C&D but she has been far from disgraced by finishing second in both of them. The daughter of Malinas has dropped a total of 3lb for those efforts and she can go one better on this occasion. Keep Running attempted to make all when beaten nine lengths into third in this grade at Hereford last month and he could have a say off a 1lb lower rating, while Kings Keeper sports first-time blinkers and can beat the returning Zertakt home for third.
MALAITA continues to shape like a winner in waiting and this could be her day with stamina doubts surrounding Keep Running. Expensive French-recruit Zertakt made a low-key start for this yard over a year ago but his absence since suggests all was not well so he's an interesting contender switched to fences.
A long absence is frequently not an issue when it comes to Venetia Williams' horses and ZERTAKT earns the vote on his chase debut.

1st (6) (5/2 +0%) Leissieres Express |
5/2(+0%) | (6) Leissieres Express 5/2, Much improved switched to chasing, off the mark at Exeter (24.2f) on New Year's Day. Unseated at this venue next start but quickly back on track when third at Wincanton (25f) 33 days ago. Overall record in this sphere is solid and increase in trip now may help. Respected. Consistent 3m winner; the obvious worry is that he's unraced beyond 3m1f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (9/2 -13%) Shot Boii |
9/2(-13%) | (4) Shot Boii 9/2, Healthy strike rate over hurdles (4-14) and scored at the third attempt in this sphere at Hereford (25.2f, soft) in January. Good second at Warwick next time but hasn't been foot perfect in the jumping department in 2 starts since. Still, not out of things tackling this marathon trip. Even if back on song, he'll be into unknown territory a long way from home here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (7/1 -27%) Lyrical Genius |
7/1(-27%) | (5) Lyrical Genius 7/1, Has an unattractive style (takes plenty of riding) and record stands at 0-9 over fences, disappointing when tailed-off fourth in Devon National at Exeter (30.7f, heavy) in February. Needs to get back on track. Placings read okay but he's been beaten a good way in his last three appearances. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (15/2 +12%) Silver In Disguise |
15/2(+12%) | (2) Silver In Disguise 15/2, Scored at Wetherby (24.2f) this time last year prior to a big effort when second in the Highland National at Perth (30.5f). Mixed bag in handful of starts so far this term but his mark is easing all the time if he can shrug off a lesser effort at Lingfield in February. Wellbeing an issue but he's better equipped than most to cope with a test of this nature. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (11/2 +15%) Golden Sovereign |
11/2(+15%) | (3) Golden Sovereign 11/2, Opened chase account at Wincanton on final start of 2020/21 campaign and placed both completed starts at that course last term. However, he hasn't put his best foot forward in 3 starts since returning to action in December and he needs to bounce back. 3m2f winner on soft ground but hasn't offered a great deal when sent further. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (7/2 -5%) Movethechains |
7/2(-5%) | (1) Movethechains 7/2, All 5 career victories have come at Lingfield, the latest when enhancing his yard's good record in the Surrey National (28.8f) in January. Respectable third back at that venue a month later and probably best not judged on his hurdles run earlier this month. Better known for Lingfield exploits but he's got the tools for a test of this nature. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
LEISSIERES EXPRESS was third off this mark at Wincanton a month ago and he is only 5lb higher than when winning at Exeter on New Year's Day. A reproduction of either of those efforts would give the seven-year-old a big chance here. Shot Boii has not been at his very best of late but is a player based on his victory at Hereford in January, while Golden Sovereign is next best.
LEISSIERES EXPRESS has taken well to the switch to chasing, opening his account at Exeter in January, and lines up here on the back of a good third at Wincanton 33 days ago. Still unexposed granted this sort of test, he could be worth siding with to continue the good work. Movethechains and Shot Boii are others to consider.
If SILVER IN DISGUISE can rediscover some form then he'd have as good a chance as any with no stamina issues to contend with.

22/1(+0%) | (7) Knockbrack Rambler 22/1, 7/1, below form eighth of 16 in handicap hurdle at Clonmel (16f, heavy) 35 days ago. Back up in trip. Not a bad effort at Punchestown on the second of three handicap starts, others preferred. |

2nd (6) (5/1 -25%) Shana Cloon |
5/1(-25%) | (6) Shana Cloon 5/1, Creditable third of 14 in handicap hurdle (11/4) at Punchestown (20.2f, heavy) 29 days ago. Not out of things in a race lacking depth. Has made the frame on her last four starts, faded from the last over this trip last time. |

3rd (1) (10/1 +0%) Gold Haven |
10/1(+0%) | (1) Gold Haven 10/1, Maiden who took a step back in right direction when sixth of 14 in handicap hurdle (4/1) at Punchestown (20f, heavy) 52 days ago, in contention before 2 out and weakening. Not out of things. Decent form in December including over C&D, excuse at Fairyhouse, below best last time. |

4th (14) (33/1 -32%) Cornmarket |
33/1(-32%) | (14) Cornmarket 33/1, 14/1, twelfth of 14 in handicap hurdle at Clonmel (19.1f, heavy) 105 days ago. Others more persuasive. Exposed low-grade maiden but ran well in a 2m4f Wexford handicap on penultimate start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (12) (9/1 +0%) Imbolc |
9/1(+0%) | (12) Imbolc 9/1, 9/1, creditable second of 18 in handicap hurdle at Limerick (22.3f, heavy) 11 days ago, headed between last 2 and no extra. Remains less exposed than most and this ease back in trip may help on that evidence. Second over a longer trip at Limerick last time, beaten 13l so needs to find a bit more. |

6th (9) (16/1 +52%) Rewrite The Script |
16/1(+52%) | (9) Rewrite The Script 16/1, Modest hurdler who ran poorly equipped with first-time blinkers when pulled up in a Listowel maiden (2m) in September, tailed off after 3 out. Starts out for new yard now. Placed in a Ballinrobe maiden hurdle for his previous trainer, first outing for this yard. |

7th (5) (4/1 +0%) Junot |
4/1(+0%) | (5) Junot 4/1, 4/1, third of 10 in handicap chase at Clonmel (16.4f, heavy) on debut over fences 35 days ago, suited by way race developed. Switches from chase to hurdles and one of the lead players on balance. Definite signs that he can make a breakthrough, went very close on his penultimate start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (3/1 -20%) Moonlight Getaway |
3/1(-20%) | (2) Moonlight Getaway 3/1, Second of 12 in handicap chase at Thurles (22.1f, soft, 7/2) on debut over fences 28 days ago. Previous hurdles effort was a solid one and he's a big player returned to this sphere. Should be hard to beat following two seconds though his most recent start was over fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (12/1 +0%) Depeche Mo |
12/1(+0%) | (8) Depeche Mo 12/1, 7/1, good second of 15 in handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse (16f, soft) 166 days ago. Back up in trip. In good form when last seen last autumn, place chance if reappearing in similar shape. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (11) (25/1 +0%) Falcon Park |
25/1(+0%) | (11) Falcon Park 25/1, Remains a maiden after 18 NH runs. Sixth of 7 in novice hurdle at Punchestown (19.9f, soft, 125/1) 45 days ago, always behind after 4 months off in face of stiff task. This more suitable at least. Good second in a 2m4f handicap at Gowran last September, struggled in a maiden on latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (16) (100/1 +0%) Justakeg |
100/1(+0%) | (16) Justakeg 100/1, Remains a maiden after 17 NH runs. 25/1 and tongue strap on for 1st time, third of 9 in handicap chase at Sligo (25.8f, heavy) 176 days ago. Switches from chase to hurdles. Back down in trip. Yard traditionally does well with old horses, hard to make a case for him otherwise. |

33/1(-50%) | (10) Three Comets 33/1, 25/1, thirteenth of 14 in handicap at Dundalk (12f) 27 days ago. Switches from Flat to hurdles. 8/23 on last hurdle run. Out of form on the Flat since last seen over hurdles a year ago, probably safe to rule out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (15) (20/1 -25%) Golden Symphony |
20/1(-25%) | (15) Golden Symphony 20/1, 12/1 and blinkered for 1st time, failed to complete in handicap hurdle at Limerick (21f, heavy) 51 days ago, held when unseating last. Others more persuasive. Long-priced third over 2m6f at Limerick last July, two failures to complete since then. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
This race is confined to maidens and MOONLIGHT GETAWAY was gambled on when finishing second in a distance handicap hurdle in January and again ran well over fences subsequently. A lightly-raced eight-year-old, he is 5lb higher than at Punchestown but the third-placed horse won subsequently while the Thurles winner scored again afterwards. Ex-flat Junot has done well recently and while he is a 12-race maiden, is well suited by conditions and represents an in-form yard. Shana Cloon has been running well but competes from a career high mark while Depeche Mo has useful handicap form but would returns from a winter's break and would probably prefer better ground. Imbolc ran well at Limerick recently but drops slightly in distance while Tingarren Express ran well at Clonmel and steps back up in distance.
MOONLIGHT GETAWAY has found only fellow improving sorts too strong on each of his last 2 starts over hurdles/fences and can make another bold bid despite his mark creeping up. Junot and Shana Cloon are others to consider, whilst Gold Haven is another not out of things on the pick of her form.
This looks like a suitable opportunity for MOONLIGHT GAMBLE to open his account after two seconds, the most recent over fences

13/2(-18%) | (4) In D'or 13/2, Placed both starts over hurdles in France but lightly raced for his current yard, having only the one run in 2022/23. Took a step forward from this season's return when third in handicap at Hereford (19.7f, soft) last month, so his task is now to build on that. Fair 3rd on h'cap debut at Hereford & this lightly raced 6yo is in good hands to progress. |

2nd (1) (7/4 -27%) Immortal Fame |
7/4(-27%) | (1) Immortal Fame 7/4, Has shown improved form this season, getting back to winning ways at Doncaster in November before scoring readily at Ascot (21.6f, good) a month later. Off since but he has gone well fresh before and he looks a major player. Won final two starts of last year and key player if fine form continues following a break. |

3rd (2) (7/1 +22%) World Of Dreams |
7/1(+22%) | (2) World Of Dreams 7/1, Won his first 2 starts in bumpers and also made a successful hurdles debut at Fontwell back in November 2021. Improved on his subsequent 2 outings that season, adding to his tally in a Plumpton novice (20.5f, heavy) when last seen. Off over 2 years ahead of his handicap bow. Two novice hurdle wins in 2021-22; has potential off this mark if retaining his promise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (7/1 -8%) New Found Fame |
7/1(-8%) | (5) New Found Fame 7/1, Fair winning hurdler who has been held back by his jumping in 3 starts over fences this season, going repeatedly to his right when second of 5 at Sedgefield (21.1f, heavy) in January. Could fare better back hurdling having edged down further in the weights. Jumping has been holding him back over fences; reverts to hurdles on a handy mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (4/1 -20%) Down Around |
4/1(-20%) | (6) Down Around 4/1, Fairly useful bumper performer but hasn't quite matched that level over hurdles so far this season. sixth of 22 on handicap debut at Punchestown (20f, good) on his latest outing in October. Makes first run for yard after leaving N. Dooly with cheekpieces back on. 0-12 but this Irish challenger has run some good races and may well be a serious contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (5/1 +44%) Cape Vidal |
5/1(+44%) | (3) Cape Vidal 5/1, Didn't go on as hoped in bumpers after a winning debut, but showed some encouragement sent hurdling when runner-up at Plumpton last April. Went one better in novice at Fontwell (19.2f, good) on his return and he's open to further progress now handicapping. Won at Fontwell last October when last seen and one to be interested in on handicap debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
World Of Dreams hasn't been seen since making it two wins out of three hurdle starts at Plumpton in January 2022, and he is an interesting contender on his return from a long absence on his handicap bow. However, the Anthony Honeyball yard have strike-rate of 0-9 in the last 14 days (at the time of writing), so the hat-trick seeking IMMORTAL FAME makes the most appeal. The eight-year-old secured victory in good fashion in a class 3 event at Ascot in December and while he was hit with a 9lb rise for that success, it is unlikely to prevent him from going in again. In D'or completes the shortlist.
IMMORTAL FAME has been thriving this season, finishing clear with a handicap debutant when winning at Ascot in December, and he can make a bold bid for the hat-trick back down in grade. Cape Vidal is feared most with the potential of better still to come as he makes his handicap bow, with New Found Fame also considered returned to hurdling.
Anthony Honeyball's horses often go well when fresh and WORLD OF DREAMS is the pick on his return from an absence.

Not discounted back from a break. Infrequent winner; ran okay the last time but lengthy break in the meantime reduces appeal. |

11/2(-22%) | (2) Valens Bruyee 11/2, Left previous efforts in this sphere well behind when off the mark in a course novice in January and wasn't disgraced in a handicap at Sandown last time. 11/2(+0%) | (4) Jo Lescribaa 11/2, Placed in a couple of bumpers in France and bettered previous hurdles efforts when third in a 6-runner novice at Leicester on penultimate outing. The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
LADY BALKO completed her hat-trick in emphatic fashion at Taunton 10 days ago and David Pipe's mare, who is 5lb well-in under a 7lb penalty, looks set to take all the beating once again. Course winner Valens Bruyee was far from disgraced on his handicap debut at Sandown last time out and he is the main danger now eased 2lb in the ratings. Jo Lescribaa could prove to be best of the remainder.
LADY BALKO got the hat-trick up in ready fashion at Taunton 10 days ago and she's capable of going in again for all that Jo Lescribaa is a formidable danger with improvement on the cards. Valens Bruyee is another one to note returning to the scene of his novice win in January.
Lady Balko has obvious claims but JO LESCRIBAA ran better than the margins imply at Leicester and has more to offer.

Not seen to best effect (not ideally placed) when fifth of 8 at Thurles (16.7f, soft, 9/2) 28 days ago and is potentially well treated back over hurdles. Won either side of summer last year; improved for fences this term; 15lb lower over timber. |

8th (18) (10/1 +0%) John The Diva |
10/1(+0%) | (18) John The Diva 10/1, Confirmed the promise of last run when winning 13-runner maiden hurdle at Thurles (20.6f, soft, 11/2) 16 days ago. Should remain competitive back in handicap company. Stayed on well to win maiden hurdle at Thurles latest and only up 2lb back in h'cap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (25/1 -39%) Rebel Early |
25/1(-39%) | (5) Rebel Early 25/1, C&D winner. Seventeen runs since last win in 2022 and was pulled up in handicap hurdle at Gowran (20.1f, heavy) 33 days ago. Bounce back required. Hasn't beaten a rival in 5 of last 6 starts but did finish a head 2nd over C&D 2 runs ago. |

10th (10) (17/2 -13%) Housemartin |
17/2(-13%) | (10) Housemartin 17/2, Showed much improved form to get off the mark at Clonmel in October and ran at least as well in defeat at this course (2m, heavy) next time. Up in trip. Merits consideration. Back to form with tongue-tie at Clonmel in October; good 2nd since; up 1lb; off 116 days. |

12th (7) (20/1 -25%) Noble Talent |
20/1(-25%) | (7) Noble Talent 20/1, Showed improved form to get off the mark at Limerick in January. Weakening when unseating rider in handicap hurdle (11/1) at Punchestown (22.8f, heavy) 32 days ago. Took form to new level with January h'cap win; unseated when beaten since; early days. |

14th (12) (5/1 +23%) Harveys Point |
5/1(+23%) | (12) Harveys Point 5/1, Lightly-raced maiden under NH rules who caught the eye on handicap debut when sixth of 16 in handicap hurdle at Naas (15.6f, heavy) 25 days ago, not knocked about. Up in trip and remains open to improvement. 0-5 but respectable h'cap debut latest; mark only fair; new trip may bring improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
15th (13) (33/1 -18%) Port Nelson |
33/1(-18%) | (13) Port Nelson 33/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Tenth of 13 in a maiden hurdle at Thurles (16.2f, soft, 33/1) 119 days ago. Upped in trip for handicap debut and remains capable of better. Point winner; showed ability at Ballinrobe last April but poor runs either side; h'cap bow. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
16th (21) (50/1 +0%) Shes So Glorious |
50/1(+0%) | (21) Shes So Glorious 50/1, Took a small step forward when seventh of 16 in a maiden hurdle at Listowel (20f, soft). Off 6 months. First run for yard after leaving Paul O'Flynn. Makes handicap hurdle debut and may do better. 0-6; one of her better runs when 6th at Listowel 185 days ago; h'cap/yard debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
17th (11) (12/1 -9%) Rolly Bowley Boy |
12/1(-9%) | (11) Rolly Bowley Boy 12/1, Turned in a rare poor effort in a first-time tongue strap when seventh of 10 in handicap chase at Gowran (20f, heavy) 33 days ago. Switches from chase to hurdles. Type to bounce back quickly. Hit the crossbar in 4 chase starts this term and interesting from his lower hurdle mark. |

18th (14) (22/1 -57%) Sammy Smart |
22/1(-57%) | (14) Sammy Smart 22/1, 200/1, seventh of 10 in maiden chase at Leopardstown (17f, heavy) 17 days ago. Switches from chase to hurdles. Makes handicap hurdle debut. 0-8; showed ability in 2022; missed 2023; shown nothing over fences lately; fairly treated. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (16/1 -33%) Thegraveyardbookie |
16/1(-33%) | (4) Thegraveyardbookie 16/1, Winner at Limerick in December but made no impact in better company at Naas last time and on a stiff-looking opening mark. Improved for further when winning a maiden hurdle at Limerick in December; tough ask since. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
HARVEYS POINT should better his 102 rating. Runner-up to Grade 3 winner Largy Hill on bumper debut in December 2022, he subsequently lost his way but was found finishing well at Naas last month, suggesting today's extra yardage will do the trick. John The Diva was beaten 16 lengths by recent Grand Annual-third Path D'oroux on career debut in a 2021 point-to-point and having won a recent unplaced maiden, can progress. Battle Of Ridgeway reverts to hurdling rated 15lb lower than fences and while he disappointed on his most recent hurdle run, won a 2m3f hurdle last May. Progressive Carlas Big Jim competes from a career high rating but is suited by conditions while Housemartin ran well in a course November handicap but is absent since. Rolly Bowley Boy was well beaten over fences last month but is rated 9lb lower in this sphere. Noble Talent was beaten when ejecting his rider at Punchestown while Clonbury Bridge has some recent form. Ebasari hasn't won since July 2022 while Striking would prefer better ground.
BATTLE OF RIDGEWAY is potentially well treated on his chase form back over hurdles, so he gets the nod in a competitive event. Housemartin, Carlas Big Jim and Harveys Point complete the shortlist.
BATTLE OF RIDGEWAY shades the vote. He's been running well over fences this season and may go well from a 15lb lower hurdle mark

1st (4) (4/1 +38%) One True King |
4/1(+38%) | (4) One True King 4/1, Runner-up over 3m here on his last 2 outings, producing a typically sketchy round of jumping in a 5-runner contest 3 weeks ago. Looks on a fairer mark than most if proving as effective over this much shorter trip. Runner-up over 3m here the last twice; major trip re-think but could be thereabouts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (11/1 -22%) Fire Dancer |
11/1(-22%) | (6) Fire Dancer 11/1, Fair hurdler/chaser in France for Guillaume Macaire and made a winning start for this yard on the back of a lengthy absence over 20f here 13 months ago. Has looked one with problems since, though, folding tamely at Hereford last time and is hard to have much faith in. Won on British debut here in January 2023; has struggled this season but could bounce back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (13/2 -63%) Fast Buck |
13/2(-63%) | (1) Fast Buck 13/2, Belatedly doubled his tally over fences when landing a small-field Wincanton handicap (15.7f) in January. Little impact since though and others make more appeal. Back to form to win 4-runner h'cap at Wincanton in January but well beaten the next twice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (17/2 -70%) Moonlighter |
17/2(-70%) | (5) Moonlighter 17/2, Winner at Chepstow in January 2023. Yet to hit the same heights this season and failed to build on a couple of more encouraging efforts when fifth of 7 in handicap chase at Ayr (16.5f, heavy, 15/2) 37 days ago. Others preferred. 11yo who was disappointing last time but has been given a chance by the handicapper. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (7/4 +0%) Greenrock Abbey |
7/4(+0%) | (7) Greenrock Abbey 7/4, Yet to finish outside of the placings in 9 starts over fences, albeit somewhat flattered when second of 8 in handicap chase at Uttoxeter (20f, heavy) 54 days ago. More solid than most in this contest and could resume winning ways back over 2m. Lucky to finish 2nd last time but form has worked out well & the drop back to 2m can help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (17/2 -6%) Stormin Crossgales |
17/2(-6%) | (2) Stormin Crossgales 17/2, Headstrong sort is yet to add to his chase debut success, though did return with an irregular heartbeat when pulling up at early at Hereford last time. Has slipped to a workable mark but others more solid. Pulled up last time but had excuse; down to a dangerous mark and not written off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (14/1 -75%) Not Available |
14/1(-75%) | (3) Not Available 14/1, Useful sort at his best, winning 3 times last season, but has looked completely unenthusiastic this term and he's opposable again. Hint of a revival at Newbury two starts ago but tailed off at Sandown since. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
GREENROCK ABBEY has shown a good level of consistency over fences and is a highly appealing option back at over 2m, with ground conditions expected to be in his favour. The class-dropping Fast Buck also commands respect but concedes 11lb to the selection, so a bigger threat may be posed by the attractively-weighted One True King. The latter has recently posted some respectable efforts over longer distances and his previous experience of this tricky course will help now eased in trip.
Hard to have much faith in any of these, with the consistent GREENROCK ABBEY given the nod to get off the mark for the season. One True King has ran well over further here on his last 2 outings and can pose the biggest threat ahead of Moonlighter.
The 11yo MOONLIGHTER wasn't at his best at Ayr last time but was in fair form previously and is taken to capitalise on a reduced mark.

1st (5) (6/1 -20%) Shady B |
6/1(-20%) | (5) Shady B 6/1, Minor promise in trio of starts over hurdles at around 2m this winter. More of an impact sent chasing/handicapping when second at Leicester (20.1f, heavy) 2 weeks ago and should have more to offer stepping up in trip. Doubt he improved for going over fences when a well-held second at Leicester. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (5/1 -11%) Puddlesinthepark |
5/1(-11%) | (3) Puddlesinthepark 5/1, Fair hurdles winner who has shown similar form in this sphere this term, third of 5 in handicap chase at Plumpton (25.7f, soft, 7/2) 17 days ago, no extra run-in. Headgear on 1st time. Not taken lightly eased another 2 lb and back down in trip. Has been running well in defeat and he's in the mix now tried in cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (7/1 -17%) Robsam |
7/1(-17%) | (6) Robsam 7/1, Modest maiden hurdler. Lame when pulled up in handicap hurdle when last seen in 2021/22. Makes chase debut. Best watched. Makes chase debut after an absence but he threatened in two of his handicap hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (33/1 +0%) Vetoncall |
33/1(+0%) | (7) Vetoncall 33/1, Low-mileage veteran who made a winning return at Fakenham last season and signed that campaign off with a creditable third in a handicap over 26.2f at Chepstow in April. Well held after 9 months off there 51 days ago, however. Now a 12yo and after a break he was pulled up over C&D in January when 50-1. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (3/1 +0%) Leading Swoop |
3/1(+0%) | (2) Leading Swoop 3/1, Fair maiden hurdler who was all the better for return when third at Lingfield. Decent start over fences when second at Fontwell and entitled to come on for that. Pushed an in-form rival to within 2l on his belated chase debut at Fontwell (2m5f). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (7/4 +0%) Twilight Glory |
7/4(+0%) | (4) Twilight Glory 7/4, Off the mark in a handicap chase at Lingfield last season and back to form when doubling his career tally over C&D in January. Backed that up when defying 6 lb rise in clear-cut fashion here (26.2f, heavy) last month and hat-trick looks entirely possible. Sound jumper who has won his last two here; looks sure to be involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (16/1 -14%) The Lion Dancer |
16/1(-14%) | (1) The Lion Dancer 16/1, Four-time winner over fences for Charlie Mann who produced his best effort for some time when making a winning return from 9 months off at Uttoxeter (3m, heavy) on sole start last season. However, dropped away quickly both starts this season after another absence. Change of headgear. Pulled up the last twice and hard to know what he'll make of a visor (replacing blinkers). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (66/1 +0%) Earcomesbob |
66/1(+0%) | (8) Earcomesbob 66/1, Pulled up on 5 of his last 6 starts and it's hard to envisage him sparking back to life after a number of sour efforts. 3 lb out of handicap. Point winner but 0-15 under rules and has pulled up in his last four; too much to prove. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Twilight Glory is 7lb higher after completing a course double, but he still merits respect on his hat-trick mission. However, a chance can be taken on LEADING SWOOP, who bumped into a progressive rival when occupying the runner-up spot on his chasing debut at Fontwell. From an unchanged mark and with the prospect of more to come, he can go one better. Puddlesinthepark continues to run quite well in defeat and could find more for the addition of first-time cheekpieces.
TWILIGHT GLORY is clearly thriving all of a sudden and the manner of last month's win here suggests he can complete a course hat-trick. Leading Swoop and Shady B both made good starts to their chase careers when runner-up at Fontwell and Leicester respectively, so they head the dangers.
Hat-trick seeker Twilight Glory might meet his match in LEADING SWOOP, who pushed an in-form rival close on his chase debut.

Switches from chase to hurdles. Blinkers back on. Not discounted. C&D winner; 5-time winner under rules; rated lower over timber but with good reason. |

2nd (8) (11/4 -10%) Aodhan May |
11/4(-10%) | (8) Aodhan May 11/4, 3 wins from 6 runs this season. Career best when winning 9-runner handicap hurdle at Navan (20f, heavy, 10/3) 19 days ago. Back up in trip. Thriving and should make a bold bid for the four-timer. Bids for 4-timer; latest success came in deep contest for the grade; may be hard to beat. |

3rd (10) (16/1 -45%) Jeriko De Baune |
16/1(-45%) | (10) Jeriko De Baune 16/1, Latest win in hurdle at Fairyhouse in January. 10/1, creditable sixth of 12 in handicap hurdle at Punchestown (22.8f, heavy) 32 days ago. Has work to do. Career best with second hurdle success 2 starts ago; may build on that from 8lb higher. |

4th (5) (9/2 -29%) Waittillitellyou |
9/2(-29%) | (5) Waittillitellyou 9/2, 15/2 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, creditable fifth of 14 in handicap hurdle at Naas (22.7f, heavy) 25 days ago, caught further back than ideal. Booking of Gilligan a plus. Shortlist material. Won this last year but arrived in better form but he's struggled from his revised mark. |

10/1(+9%) | (6) Shotgun Jack 10/1, Latest win in hurdle at Limerick in November. Pulled up in handicap hurdle (9/2) at Limerick (24f, heavy) 84 days ago, folding. Something to prove. Too keen last time on h'cap debut but had won in good style 2 previously starts; respected. |

16/1(-33%) | (2) Champagne Platinum 16/1, Pulled up in handicap chase at Punchestown (27f, heavy, 16/1) 32 days ago, dropping away before 3 out. Switches from chase to hurdles. Others make more appeal. Pulled up in National trial last month but bounced back to form over timber prior to that. |

11/1(+0%) | (12) Chance The Robin 11/1, Promising sort. Good second of 11 in handicap hurdle at Thurles (22.9f, heavy, 12/1) 5 days ago. Going the right way and makes plenty of appeal despite the quick turnaround. Won twice in Britain last year; back to best when 2nd at Thurles last week; respected. |

|PU| (4) (5/1 +0%) Emancipator |
5/1(+0%) | (4) Emancipator 5/1, 2 wins from 6 runs this season. Latest win in chase at Fairyhouse in December. Creditable fourth of 14 in handicap hurdle at Naas (22.7f, heavy, 12/1) 25 days ago. Must improve. Best form has come over fences at this trip on similar ground; okay 4th latest; up in trip. |

16/1(+0%) | (11) Regina Dracones 16/1, Thirteen runs since last win in 2022. 33/1, below form ninth of 15 in handicap chase at Punchestown (27f, heavy) 32 days ago. Switches from chase to hurdles. Not seen in this sphere since 2021 and arrives on the back of two poor runs at Punchestown. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Four-timer chasing AODHAN MAY is ideally suited by heavy ground and this distance. She seemed to be exposed prior to winning at Navan in February and while she has risen 28lb for three wins, further progression is indeed possible. Will Do has top weight but drops from Listed company and, being suited by conditions, should compete. Chance The Robin is also well suited by heavy ground and while he ran well at Thurles on Saturday, steps up in grade. Emancipator and Waittillitellyou are closely matched on a recent Naas race (Capilano Bridge finished seventh) and are able types while five-year-old Jeriko De Baune has recent form and might progress. Veteran Sir Bob was well held in recent hurdle races while Champagne Platinum pulled up recently but was a winner previously over hurdles. Out of form Regina Dracones is rated 10lb lower than over fences and hasn't raced over hurdles since April 2021.
AODHAN MAY is a thriving mare who found plenty to complete the hat-trick at Navan last time so, with further improvement on the cards back up in trip, she's fancied to get the better of Chance The Robin, who also boasts a positive profile. Waittillitellyou is another one to consider.
It's hard to oppose AODHAN MAY in her bid for a four-timer after winning a deep contest at Navan last time and further will suit

1st (4) (3/1 -33%) Dromlac Jury |
3/1(-33%) | (4) Dromlac Jury 3/1, Quite a costly buy out of points and showed more than first time up under Rules when fourth of 12 in a Carlisle novice (17f, soft, 66/1) in February, needing stiffer test. Ran to a similar level at Hereford last time and should be capable of making her presence felt on handicap bow. Has improved with each of her 3 h'dle runs; could take another step forward in first h'cap. |

2nd (3) (2/1 -33%) Brendas Asking |
2/1(-33%) | (3) Brendas Asking 2/1, Showed ability in points/bumpers and built on her hurdling debut promise when fourth in a 10-runner novice at Kempton (2m, good to soft) in January. Similar form when fourth to subsequent Grade 2 winner Golden Ace at Taunton subsequently and should go well on handicap debut. Some solid efforts on first three hurdle starts and open to improvement on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (5/2 +9%) Queshi Bridge |
5/2(+9%) | (2) Queshi Bridge 5/2, Lightly-raced 8-y-o who improved further on first run since leaving Edmond Kent when second of 13 in a maiden at this course (21.2f, soft) 43 days ago. That form has been franked since and she's a key player back down in trip on handicap debut. Runner-up in maiden hurdle here on stable debut; likely player now handicapping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (9/1 -20%) Cottie |
9/1(-20%) | (1) Cottie 9/1, Scored at Downpatrick last June for Henry de Bromhead. Has been well held both starts for Dan Skelton, though, and will likely be of more interest when returned to less testing ground. Two-time winner for Henry de Bromhead but she's struggled on her last three starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (14/1 +44%) Spyfall |
14/1(+44%) | (5) Spyfall 14/1, Lightly-raced maiden who shaped a bit better than the distance beaten suggests in first-time cheekpieces and tongue strap when fifth of 9 in handicap hurdle at Down Royal (17.2f, heavy) 58 days ago. More needed, though. No impact on handicap hurdle debut but has travelled from Ireland; one to watch in betting. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Queshi Bridge posted a respectable effort when second over 2m5f on debut for the Alastair Ralph yard here last month and, having previously shown ability over this trip during her time in Ireland, the eight-year-old is a notable contender. Nevertheless, the distance is a concern and, with that in mind, the less-exposed BRENDAS ASKING, who represents a resurgent yard, is preferred. She can utilise her speed to make a winning handicap debut, while the low-mileage Dromlac Jury also warrants a betting check.
QUESHI BRIDGE improved on first outing for Alastair Ralph when runner-up at this course last month and, with that form proving strong, she's taken to make a successful handicap bow back down in trip. Brendas Asking and Dromlac Jury are two other lightly-raced sorts who warrant respect on their handicap debuts.
The 5yo DROMLAC JURY (nap) has got better with each of her three hurdle outings and can make a winning start in handicaps.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (7/2 -17%) Grigio |
7/2(-17%) | (4) Grigio 7/2, Career best when winning 7-runner handicap (6/4) at Kempton (12f) 36 days ago, getting first run. Makes tapeta debut. In top form and should go well again. Off the mark at Kempton last month and could continue to progress; respected up 3lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (8/1 +0%) For Pleasure |
8/1(+0%) | (3) For Pleasure 8/1, Fifth of 7 in handicap hurdle at Catterick (15.7f, soft, 5/2) 38 days ago. Makes tapeta debut. Fair on the Flat, poor on last Flat run. Others preferred. Rejuvenated over hurdles in December; interesting on this first Flat run for a long time. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
TORTURED SOUL is in the form of his life at present and the five-timer looks very much on the cards following another taking success at Kempton last week. Tony Carroll's charge should have too much for Grigio, who is still a leading contender after getting off the mark at the Sunbury circuit last month. Militry Decoration and Oyamal are capable of being in the shake-up as well.
TORTURED SOUL has been one of the most progressive horses on the AW this year and, having quickened to score with something in hand at Kempton 8 days ago, he's an obvious choice to extend his winning sequence to five. Grigio also arrives at the top of his game and looks the obvious threat, while Win Win Power is an interesting one upped in trip.
Winning machine TORTURED SOUL has thrived since joining Tony Carroll and can complete a five-timer, having done it cosily last time.

1st (2) (9/4 -38%) La Marquise |
9/4(-38%) | (2) La Marquise 9/4, Had a bit in hand when winning on her debut at Stratford (2m, heavy) at the start of November but went backwards from that when seventh in listed event at Cheltenham (14f, soft) on New Year's Day, off the bridle before most. Tongue tied and can get back on track in this grade. Impressed at Stratford before a little disappointing in a Listed race at Cheltenham. |

2nd (5) (9/4 +0%) Briefly |
9/4(+0%) | (5) Briefly 9/4, Better effort in bumpers when third at Wincanton (15.2f, soft) 7 weeks ago. 1 of 2 for this yard and a repeat should see her go close. Positives to take from both runs, last time finishing behind promising horses at Wincanton. |

3rd (4) (25/1 +0%) Barrabool |
25/1(+0%) | (4) Barrabool 25/1, Jack Hobbs filly. Third foal. Dam little show in bumpers/over hurdles, half-sister to bumper winner/useful hurdler (stayed 3m) On Raglan Road and bumper winner/fairly useful hurdler (stayed 2½m) Overthetop. Dam runner-up in bumper/well held over hurdles, sister to bumper winner Megabill. |

4th (1) (8/1 -14%) Just A Memory |
8/1(-14%) | (1) Just A Memory 8/1, Out of a chase winner in France but just glimmers of promise in 2 starts in bumpers so far, her latest fourth at Huntingdon coming after a 12-week break/breathing op. A weakener in both her runs but showed ability on good to soft at Aintree and Huntingdon. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (40/1 +0%) Banny Hill Lass |
40/1(+0%) | (3) Banny Hill Lass 40/1, Blue Bresil filly who offered little in a Newbury bumper (16.3f, soft) on debut earlier this month. Perhaps failed to cope with the heavy ground when finishing last at Newbury (33-1). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (33/1 -32%) Ocean Frontier |
33/1(-32%) | (8) Ocean Frontier 33/1, Frontiersman filly who failed to make an impact in a C&D bumper (heavy) last month. Best watched. 22-1 and from off the pace she made no telling impression on heavy ground here a month ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (66/1 -100%) Mistress Fox |
66/1(-100%) | (7) Mistress Fox 66/1, Order of St George filly. Dam well beaten sole start in bumpers. Likely outsider on debut. Winners in the family but a rare bumper runner for the yard and probably best watched. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Stratford scorer LA MARQUISE failed to make an impact at Listed level last time out, but the fact she was sent off joint-favourite would suggest much better was expected. Jamie Snowden's filly must saddle a penalty, but this does not look the strongest of contests and she is taken to regain the winning thread. Anthony Honeyball enjoys his fair share of success in bumpers and his pair Getaways Gift and Briefly ought to be capable of mounting a stern challenge.
LA MARQUISE scored with a bit in hand on debut at Stratford back in November so, having found listed company too much at Cheltenham next time, Jamie Snowdon's filly gets the nod fitted with a tongue tie and back in much calmer waters. Anthony Honeyball saddles a couple and it's Briefly who shades the vote over Getaways Gift for the silver medal.
La Marquise is respected but GETAWAYS GIFT is taken to reverse Newbury placings with stablemate Briefly.

|PU| (15) (100/1 -52%) Stradbally Village |
100/1(-52%) | (15) Stradbally Village 100/1, 125/1, pulled up in handicap hurdle at Punchestown (19.4f, good to soft), behind when awkward on landing 3 out. Off 10 months. Up in trip. Very little to recommend apart from a good rider, hard to fancy after a ten-month absence. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
SCARBROOK returned from 353-days off to win on yard debut last month and might progress. Well suited by conditions, he is 8lb higher than winning at Thurles but today's Irish Student Derby-winning jockey claims 7lb, and has ridden two UK jump winners. Danny The Fence has useful handicap form, is suited by this distance and should compete while ten-year-old Not May bumped into a well-handicapped winner in January and ran ok subsequently over fences at Thurles. Ivane should also compete while veterans Thedancingfarrier and Likable Chancer have been running well. Dual point-to-point winner Imperial Fox runs in cheekpieces on handicap debut while another dual points winner Majestic Design was found to have 'blood at both nostrils' when last seen in November but could be nicely treated, under a 5lb claimer, on best form. One For Daisy beat a bumper-placed mare to win a Tralee point-to-point last April and debuts in handicaps.
SCARBROOK made an impressive start for his new stable when landing a big-field event at Thurles last month and he's worth a chance to defy a rise with the potential for better still. Danny The Fence could pose the main threat, while Likable Chancer should give his running again.
A winner at Thurles on his stable debut after a year off, SCARBROOK has a realistic chance of following up from his revised mark

1st (1) (17/2 -31%) Captain Tommy |
17/2(-31%) | (1) Captain Tommy 17/2, First run since leaving Ian Williams and improved to win 5-runner hunter chase (20/1) at this course (23.8f, soft) 43 days ago by 3 lengths from Shang Tang, very much having run of race. Has more on his plate after a disappointing run in a point since. Won here (3m, soft) last month and subsequent point-to-point run may have come too soon. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (10/11 +24%) Espoir De Guye |
10/11(+24%) | (2) Espoir De Guye 10/11, Useful chaser at his best and, returned to positive tactics, looked to retain all of that ability when scoring at Wincanton 22 days ago and is worth a chance to follow up. Smart in his prime and won hunter chase at Wincanton last month; strong claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (14/1 +30%) Missed Tee |
14/1(+30%) | (8) Missed Tee 14/1, Fair hurdler. Fair winner at 20f over hurdles. First run since leaving Dan Skelton when pulled up in hunter chase at Stratford (20.9f, heavy, 9/2) 10 days ago. Others make more appeal. Pulled up on both runs this year (hunter chase last time) and others are preferred. |

4th (5) (50/1 -25%) Dalahast |
50/1(-25%) | (5) Dalahast 50/1, Multiple chase winner in France but obviously not the force of old and is easily passed over on the back of some tame efforts in points. No impact under rules last term; pulled up in points the last twice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (7) (12/1 +0%) Shang Tang |
12/1(+0%) | (7) Shang Tang 12/1, Fairly useful chaser who produced his best effort since joining this yard when second in a 5-runner affair here (23.8f, soft). Disappointed at Leicester next time but won a point recently. Second over 3m here last month and this shorter trip may be a better fit; each-way claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (66/1 -32%) Hazard Collonges |
66/1(-32%) | (6) Hazard Collonges 66/1, Fair at best but hasn't been seen for 22 months under Rules and has shown little in points, so hard to make a case for. Displayed some ability over hurdles earlier in career but 0-7 in points since. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Before Midnight is a classy recruit to the hunters' chase scene and commands respect on his debut run in this sphere. However, ESPOIR DE GUYE displayed battling qualities when landing a similar race at Wincanton last month and another show of determination could suffice here. Recent point-to-point winner Shang Tang (second) is also noteworthy back over regulation fences. Captain Tommy (winner) is closely matched with the last- named based on their encounter here last month, but has something to prove after flopping between the flags since.
Having bounced back to make all at Wincanton 22 days ago, ESPOIR DE GUYE makes plenty of appeal in another thin race. Before Midnight has the slightly better recent form but has a poor run to put behind him, while there's hope for Captain Tommy if the aforementioned pair aren't quite on their game.
Having returned to form with a hunter chase win at Wincanton three weeks ago, ESPOIR DE GUYE is selected to make it two in a row.

3/1(+0%) | (8) Invincible Aura 3/1, Fair performer who ran up to best on final start at 2 yrs when third of 12 in novice event at Chelmsford (6f) in October, leading final 1f and headed late on. Gelded subsequently and returns with yard in good form. One to consider under Hollie Doyle. Promise as 2yo but expensive to follow; gelded since last seen; stamina to be proven. |

2nd (2) (9/4 +0%) Castle In The Sand |
9/4(+0%) | (2) Castle In The Sand 9/4, Lightly-raced colt. 11/8, matched previous best (fairly useful form) when second of 6 in novice event at Brighton (1m, heavy) in October, no extra final 50 yds. Sets the standard on return/AW debut and shortlisted. RPR of 82 when second on soft twice last autumn; dam useful on AW; obvious claims. |

3rd (11) (5/1 -11%) Blake |
5/1(-11%) | (11) Blake 5/1, Zoffany colt who stepped up on debut run when third of 9 in a Kempton novice (1m) in October without being unduly punished. 4th (6) (14/1 +0%) Rock City Falls |
14/1(+0%) | (6) Rock City Falls 14/1, Once-raced colt. Shaped as if in need of the experience when sixth of 12 in novice event (12/1) at Kempton (8f) on debut 22 days ago, plugging on. Should improve. Green and outpaced in the straight on last month's debut (1m, Polytrack); can do better. |

5th (3) (8/1 -14%) Corrales |
8/1(-14%) | (3) Corrales 8/1, 45,000 gns yearling, Dark Angel colt. Offered plenty to work on when fourth of 13 in maiden (11/1) at Kempton (7f) on debut 32 days ago, keeping on without being knocked about. In very good hands and he looks sure to progress. Promise over 7f on last month's debut; this trip will suit and he's got more to offer. |

6th (10) (14/1 +0%) Spanish Vega |
14/1(+0%) | (10) Spanish Vega 14/1, Son of Phoenix of Spain who was easy to back and ran to only a modest level when ninth of 13 in novice event at Kempton (1m) on debut in December. Subsequently gelded and likelihood is he can do better for good stable. Dropped away in the straight on his Kempton debut; gelded since; others stronger today. |

7th (5) (14/1 -100%) Memories Maker |
14/1(-100%) | (5) Memories Maker 14/1, Makes plenty of appeal on paper and shaped promisingly amidst greenness when 1 length third of 8 in maiden at Newcastle (1m) in February. Didn't build on promise of his Newcastle debut when 4th over C&D latest; still early days. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
CASTLE IN THE SAND improved as the season went on last year and this looks like an ideal opportunity on his first start as a three-year-old. The son of New Approach sets the standard on form and is preferred to Invincible Aura and Blake, who was slightly unlucky when not getting a clear run and finishing third at Kempton back in October. Corrales and Memories Maker cannot be ruled out either.
CASTLE IN THE SAND matched his previous best (fairly useful form) when runner-up on his final start at 2 yrs at Brighton in October and he could be the one to side with on return/making his AW debut. Invincible Aura returning for the in-form Marco Botti yard, and Corrales head up the dangers. Blake rates another likely improver now embarking on his 3-y-o campaign.
Corrales can go well upped in trip but BLAKE is fancied to build on his two promising runs last autumn.

1st (3) (6/4 +0%) Mozzies Sister |
6/4(+0%) | (3) Mozzies Sister 6/4, Winner of her completed starts in points. Tongue tie fitted on Rules debut. Respected, particularly if the betting vibes are strong. Beat a subsequent winner in a maiden point, leading chance for strong trainer/rider team. |

2nd (2) (13/8 -9%) Lep Around |
13/8(-9%) | (2) Lep Around 13/8, Point winner who has finished runner-up in a couple of maiden hurdles in recent months. Leading claims on bumper debut. Two good runs in mares' maiden hurdles since winning a point, might prefer further. |

5/1(-11%) | (4) Slip Jig 5/1, Well backed (went off at 100/30) and showed ability when seventh of 17 on C&D debut in May 2022. Absent since but returns in a race lacking depth and it'll be interesting to see whether her supporters' return. Seventh of 17 over C&D on debut in May 2022, long absence to overcome, Jody Townend rides. |

4th (7) (25/1 +0%) Mother Ship |
25/1(+0%) | (7) Mother Ship 25/1, Affinisea filly. Half-sister to fairly useful hurdler Orchard Grove, stays 2½m. The betting should guide to expectations with this one on debut. Half-sister to Orchard Grove who has won five hurdle races for Kerry Lee all on good going. |

5th (1) (25/1 +0%) Erindale |
25/1(+0%) | (1) Erindale 25/1, 80/1, seventh of 8 in bumper at Leopardstown (16f, heavy) on NH debut 17 days ago. Finished with only one behind her when the rank outsider first time out at Leopardstown. |

28/1(+44%) | (6) Walk In The Shadow 28/1, Twice-raced maiden under NH rules. Eighth of 14 in maiden at Fairyhouse (18.2f, soft, 66/1) on hurdles bow 68 days ago. Switches from hurdles to bumpers. Tailed off in a bumper at Galway on debut, down the field in a maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (25/1 +0%) Snowshaan |
25/1(+0%) | (5) Snowshaan 25/1, Snow Sky mare. Dam unplaced in points. Probably best watched on debut. Not much of note in the pedigree but the stable's two most recent runners have been placed. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
MOZZIES SISTER won a January point-to-point in style and looks capable. A half-sister to two winners, including useful Vee Dancer, she showed ability when brought down on debut last year and quickened smartly to win at Dungarvan. The runner-up won subsequently, while the four other runners were each subsequently placed in point-to-points. Another wide-margin point-to-point winner, Lep Around has racecourse form but might struggle to beat the selection. Slip Jig was well supported on course debut in May 2022 and while absent since, it is encouraging that she reappears in another bumper. Snowshaan's pedigree is light but her trainer does well in bumpers, while Mother Ship is a half-sister to a five-time winner. Walk in The Shadow has twice been well beaten but is from a good family, with all six of her siblings being winners.
LEP AROUND is the percentage call after finishing runner-up twice over hurdles this year. Point winner Mozzies Sister would rate a possible threat if the market vibes are strong, while it'll also be interesting to see what the betting makes of the returning Slip Jig, who went off at only 100/30 in a big-field race on her C&D debut in May 2022 but hasn't been seen since.
The Queally yard is flying in points (18 wins at a 47% strike rate) and Dungarvan scorer MOZZIES SISTER may be equal to the task

3/1(+33%) | (3) Daring Legend 3/1, Improved when winning 7-runner handicap at Newcastle (6f, 11/8) 14 days ago, keeping on well. That was only his second start for current connections and sure to go well again. Made bright start for yard, close 3rd over 7f then impressive at 6f; up 8lb; improve. |

4th (2) (8/1 -33%) Drama |
8/1(-33%) | (2) Drama 8/1, Lightly-raced winner. 20/1, good fourth of 22 in valuable sales event at Newmarket (6f, good to firm), helped by being held up in strongly-run race. Off 166 days/gelded. Makes tapeta debut. Opening mark looks high enough. Two useful 6f runs on turf as a juvenile; open to improvement over 7f on AW debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (18/1 -13%) Commander Of Life |
18/1(-13%) | (7) Commander Of Life 18/1, Eighth of 12 in nursery (18/1) at Kempton (6f). Off 134 days/gelded. Makes tapeta debut. First run for yard after leaving S. P. C. Woods. Easy to look elsewhere. Best form at 6f as 2yo; sold 18,000gns since; likely best watched back from break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (8/1 -45%) Runaround Sioux |
8/1(-45%) | (10) Runaround Sioux 8/1, Improved when winning 8-runner event on handicap bow at Chelmsford City (6f, 5/1) 26 days ago, overcoming positional bias. Makes tapeta debut. Remains unexposed and likely to go well again. All races at about 6f; made up plenty of ground for ready Polytrack win; first Tapeta run. |

7th (1) (11/2 +21%) Engineer |
11/2(+21%) | (1) Engineer 11/2, One win from 3 runs last year. Winner at Wolverhampton in November. Cheekpieces on for 1st time, good fourth of 10 in handicap (9/2) at Kempton (6f) 32 days ago. Off the mark in 6f Wolverhampton maiden; fair efforts in two handicaps; more needed for 7f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (12/1 -33%) Flag Carrier |
12/1(-33%) | (4) Flag Carrier 12/1, 3/1, career best when winning 11-runner handicap at Kempton (7f) 59 days ago, leading 1f out then hanging right (also unruly to post and unseated rider). First run for yard after leaving Harry Eustace. Acts here; found plenty when 7f winner at Kempton; good contender up just 3lb; new trainer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (4/1 +20%) Smart Vision |
4/1(+20%) | (5) Smart Vision 4/1, Improved when winning 8-runner event on handicap bow (11/4) at Newcastle (7.1f) 28 days ago, plenty in hand. Expected to be bang there. Made the running and never looked like being headed at Newcastle (7f); up just 3lb. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
A comfortable winner when getting off the mark at Wolverhampton in January, INNER TEMPLE remains unexposed and could be well treated off a mark of 76 on his handicap debut. Archie Watson's charge has been gelded since that run and he gets the vote ahead of Newcastle scorer Daring Legend and Flag Carrier, who must be noted on his first start for Brian Toomey. Drama ended his two-year-old campaign with a highly creditable fourth in a valuable auction race at Newmarket so has to enter the reckoning.
SMART VISION had plenty in hand when making a winning handicap bow at Newcastle 4 weeks ago so can defy a 3 lb rise. Runaround Sioux has a similar profile to the selection so is feared most ahead of Daring Legend and Inner Temple.
This looks open, with half the field having won last time. DARING LEGEND impressed over 6f recently and gets the vote back at 7f.

1st (1) (7/4 -17%) Medici Pass |
7/4(-17%) | (1) Medici Pass 7/4, Produced a career best on first run since leaving Michael O'Meara when winning 7-runner handicap at Newcastle (7.1f) 9 days ago. Obvious claims under a 5-lb penalty. Hacked up on debut for this yard and she's 4lb well-in even with the penalty. |

2nd (10) (11/2 -10%) Van Zant |
11/2(-10%) | (10) Van Zant 11/2, One win from 26 Flat runs. 11/4, creditable fourth of 9 in minor event at this C&D 7 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. One to consider. Only 1-26 but has continued in good form since that breakthrough win at Wolverhampton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (6/1 -20%) Locked N' Loaded |
6/1(-20%) | (6) Locked N' Loaded 6/1, Nineteen runs since last win in 2022, though latest run over C&D is best excused, keeping on when badly hampered and snatched up final 100 yds. Infrequent winner (4-47) and often compromises his chances by racing too freely. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (18/1 +0%) Total Lockdown |
18/1(+0%) | (5) Total Lockdown 18/1, Unreliable sort. One win from 22 Flat runs. Blinkered for 1st time, last of 9 in handicap (28/1) at Kempton (12f) 22 days ago. Significantly back down in trip. Hood back on. Fitting blinkers backfired last time; a hood returns but still opposable in current form. |

5th (7) (16/1 -60%) Twistaline |
16/1(-60%) | (7) Twistaline 16/1, C&D winner in January but is merely ticking over at present, only seventh of 8 in handicap (18/1) at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 10 days ago. Plenty went wrong last time; of interest back here off what remains a competitive mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (16/1 +0%) Anif |
16/1(+0%) | (2) Anif 16/1, Course winner. 25/1, sixth of 12 in handicap at Newcastle (8f) 20 days ago, unsuited by way race developed. Blinkers back on. Multiple winner but has been struggling for a while with slow starts an unwelcome habit. |

7th (4) (5/1 -25%) Neptune Legend |
5/1(-25%) | (4) Neptune Legend 5/1, Latest win at Wolverhampton in February. Creditable fourth of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f, 10/3) 19 days ago, though it was all very laboured. Significantly back up in trip. Running well elsewhere over shorter trips and worth another go over this far. |

8th (9) (28/1 +0%) Tacitus |
28/1(+0%) | (9) Tacitus 28/1, One win from 23 Flat runs. Ninth of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f, 50/1). Off 150 days. 0-8 on the AW; out of form when last seen in October. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (16/1 +0%) Mr Marvlos |
16/1(+0%) | (8) Mr Marvlos 16/1, Unreliable type. Remains a maiden after 18 Flat runs. Seventh of 9 in handicap (12/1) at Kempton (7f) 15 days ago, nearest finish. Cheekpieces back on and will prove suited by a return to this trip. 0-18; only seventh of nine runners over 7f at Kempton on his return from a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (3) (14/1 +0%) Rocklyn |
14/1(+0%) | (3) Rocklyn 14/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Eighth of 9 in maiden at this C&D (33/1) 58 days ago, slowly away. Makes handicap debut and may have better still to offer at some stage. Shown some ability; could have potential lurking now sent into handicaps. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Rocklyn was never in contention in a maiden over C&D in January but based on her first two starts, she could have a say on her handicap bow off a rating of 57. However, it's hard to get away from MEDICI PASS' impressive four-length victory over 7f at Newcastle on her first outing for the Iain Jardine stable. The daughter of Raven's Pass remains in the same grade and can defy her penalty to record a double. Neptune Legend should remain competitive off his mark and fight it out for the minor honours.
MEDICI PASS got off the mark in emphatic fashion on her first start for Iain Jardine at Newcastle last week and will take a bit of stopping under a penalty if turning up in similar form. Locked N' Loaded had little go right at Wolverhampton last time and is second choice ahead of Van Zant.
There's no strong temptation to see past the easy Newcastle winner MEDICI PASS, who looks to have turned a major corner.

2nd (7) (3/1 +14%) Urban Dandy |
3/1(+14%) | (7) Urban Dandy 3/1, Course winner. Thirteen runs since last win in 2023. 7/1, creditable close second of 9 in C&D handicap 11 days ago. Has to be taken seriously off the same mark. Unlucky second over C&D 11 days ago and he's a major player off the same mark today. |

16/1(-14%) | (9) Rockin Rosa 16/1, Won at Newcastle (7f) last August. Best run since when fifth of 12 in handicap at Newcastle (7f) in October. Off 156 days. Inconsistent but capable of having a say if she's on song on this return from a break. |

5th (6) (11/2 +0%) Meng Tian |
11/2(+0%) | (6) Meng Tian 11/2, Twenty runs since last win in 2022. 9/5, creditable second of 6 in handicap at Chelmsford (1m) when last seen in November. On 20-race losing sequence but posted some good runs last year; returns from a break. |

6th (3) (13/2 -18%) Handel |
13/2(-18%) | (3) Handel 13/2, One win from 29 Flat runs. 12/1, creditable second of 12 in handicap at Kempton (1m) 19 days ago, left poorly placed. Not taken lightly. Poor strike-rate and not straightforward, but in good form and might not be far away. |

7th (2) (11/1 -57%) Fieldsman |
11/1(-57%) | (2) Fieldsman 11/1, C&D winner in December and went in again at Wolverhampton in January. Below form seventh of 12 in handicap (7/2) at this course (1m) 9 days ago, ridden too aggressively. Did too much too soon here last time; running consistently well previously (including C&D). |

8th (8) (10/1 -100%) Mine That Ship |
10/1(-100%) | (8) Mine That Ship 10/1, 18/1, first run since leaving Alice Haynes when good second of 8 in handicap at Chelmsford (6f) on reappearance 12 days ago. Claims if in similar form. Close second on recent stable debut at Chelmsford and could have more to offer for yard. |

9th (5) (12/1 +14%) Major Gatsby |
12/1(+14%) | (5) Major Gatsby 12/1, Latest win at Wolverhampton in October. 12/1, bit below form sixth of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7f) 27 days ago, ridden too aggressively. Won off 2lb higher at Wolverhampton last October but not at the same level this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (4) (40/1 -21%) Ishani |
40/1(-21%) | (4) Ishani 40/1, Last of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7f, 40/1) 69 days ago. A refitted tongue strap and first-time cheekpieces combination needs to spark improvement. Well beaten on her two runs this winter but the recent form of the stable catches the eye. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Mine That Ship made a highly encouraging start to life in the care of Michael Wigham when hitting the crossbar over 6f at Chelmsford, and she could get involved now up in trip off an unchanged rating. However, URBAN DANDY overcame interference at a vital stage over C&D to just get touched off recently. The son of Dandy Man is able to compete off the same mark and could prove very hard to beat with a clearer passage. Meng Tian and Handel are others to consider.
URBAN DANDY looked unlucky when just failing to get up over C&D last time and should take a bit of stopping off the same mark if showing up in similar form. Handel needs things to drop right the way he's ridden but can go close off his mark if they do. Meng Tian and Mine That Ship are others who should have a say in a competitive race for the level.
This can go to URBAN DANDY (nap), who was having his first crack at 7f when denied a clear run and short-headed over C&D 11 days ago.

Could be ready to return to winning ways. Near miss at Newcastle last week on first run back with this yard; leading contender. |

2nd (1) (8/1 -14%) Alfred Cove |
8/1(-14%) | (1) Alfred Cove 8/1, One win from 27 Flat runs. Went backwards from recent run when eleventh of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f, 11/) 19 days ago. Drops in grade but others still more persuasive. Yet to fire this year but drops in grade and of interest on last year's best. |

3rd (2) (8/1 +0%) Bluebells Boy |
8/1(+0%) | (2) Bluebells Boy 8/1, Thirteen runs since his sole success back in 2022. After 4 months off, shaped as if needing the run when last of 10 in handicap at Newcastle (6f, 9/1) 2 weeks ago. Could fare better with the blinkers back on. Low-key return but drops into his first 0-50 and can't be discounted. |

4th (5) (9/1 -13%) Lil Wade |
9/1(-13%) | (5) Lil Wade 9/1, After 8 weeks off, ran well when fourth of 9 in handicap at this course (5f, 16/1) a week ago. never nearer. Should be suited by going back up in trip and he can make his presence felt. Not beaten far in a 5f handicap here last week; contender dropped into his first 0-50. |

5th (4) (6/1 -50%) Fantasy Navigator |

Below that level next 2 starts, but bounced back to form when fourth of 9 in handicap at this course (7.1f, 6/1) 11 days ago. Merits consideration. 6f win at Newcastle last month and ran creditably here (7f) last time; one to consider. |

8/1(-14%) | (8) Trulie Good 8/1, In first-time visor, off the mark at this course (5f) in February. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (10/1 +0%) My Boy Jack |
10/1(+0%) | (6) My Boy Jack 10/1, Thirteen runs since last win in 2023, but creditable effort when fifth of 9 in minor event at this course (7.1f, 17/2) 5 days ago. Cheekpieces reapplied. Will need things to drop right returned to 6f. Not beaten far over 7f here last week but others appeal more for win purposes. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
LIL WADE hit the line well for fourth over 5f here off a mark of 50 last week and he now tries classified company for the first time in his career. Scott Dixon's four-year-old is joint top-rated with four others in this contest, but that most recent run just gives him the edge. Catherine Chroi was only denied by a head at this level at Newcastle and it would be no surprise to see her get into contention once more. Fantasy Navigator is also a player.
CATHERINE CHROI made a promising return when narrowly denied at Newcastle 6 days ago and she can go one better making only her second start back with Iain Jardine. The main danger could be Lil Wade, who shaped as if he should benefit from going back up to 6f when fourth here last week, ahead of Fantasy Navigator.
A few possibles but CATHERINE CHROI is fancied to go one better than at Newcastle last week.

1st (4) (6/1 -20%) Hard Solution |
6/1(-20%) | (4) Hard Solution 6/1, Modest gelding. Arguably unlucky not to win when third of 8 in handicap (16/1) at Chelmsford City (6f) 12 days ago, meeting trouble at a crucial stage. Not the easiest to score with but player if in same form. Better recent effort when third at Chelmsford 12 days ago; in the mix if backing it up. |

7th (2) (11/1 -38%) Bama Lama |
11/1(-38%) | (2) Bama Lama 11/1, Modest mare. Creditable fourth of 12 in handicap at Kempton (6f, 7/1), faring best of those ridden prominently. Off 134 days. Place claims if ready to roll after break. Unplaced in all eight AW runs and likely vulnerable back from a break. |

11/2(+31%) | (6) Liv Lucky 11/2, Modest mare. One win from 29 Flat runs. Last of 8 in minor event at this course (8.1f, 17/2) 56 days ago. Peak form would see her in the mix but she needs to bounce back with visor on 1st time. Hard to win with but this is her level and the new visor could give her a lift. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
ADMIRABLE LAD won a similar contest over this distance at Chelmsford three weeks ago and the six-year-old is hard to oppose on the back of that performance. Hard Solution was a close third in handicap company on his most recent outing and he should not be underestimated as a result, while Higher Law and Bama Lama are others who make the shortlist.
ADMIRABLE LAD resumed winning ways in a similar contest at Chelmsford last month and sets the standard on that form. Higher Law is a long-standing maiden but his recent form over this trip is better than the 5f he raced at here last week, so should give a good account, whilst Hard Solution also merits respect after getting little luck in-running last time.
Higher Law and Admirable Lad are serious players but perhaps HARD SOLUTION can build on the promise of his latest run.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
NEY was an impressive winner over C&D two starts ago and he was third off this mark at Newcastle subsequently. The Danny Brooke-trained six-year-old clearly remains on a workable rating and just gets the vote ahead of Young Endless, who scored over 1m6f at this venue earlier in the month and has since switched yards. Others to consider are Zephlyn, Prince Abu and Stolen Encounter.
Last month's C&D winner NEY ran another solid race when third at Newcastle and might be able to resume winning ways back here. Zephlyn is another who arrives at the top of his game and can fill the forecast spot ahead of last month's 1¾m course scorer Young Endless and Archie Watson's Stolen Encounter.
This can go to NEY who was a convincing winner of his first C&D start last month and can prove suited by the return to this track.
Ths is the racecard key.
