9/2(+31%) | (18) Mo Ghille Mar 9/2, Fairly useful winner at 11f on flat. Offered more than on debut over timber when third at Fairyhouse (16f) in January. Likely best watched. Won on heavy ground and on AW for Jean Claude Rouget last season, potentially interesting. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (7) ![]() Hudson |
15/2(-7%) | (7) Hudson 15/2, Promising sort. 6/1, first run since leaving Christophe Ferland when fifth of 16 in juvenile hurdle at Leopardstown (16f, good) on NH debut 83 days ago. Tongue strap on for 1st time. Likely improver. French import shaped quite well at Leopardstown, tongue-tie fitted, improvement likely. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) ![]() Memories Maker |
125/1(-279%) | (10) Memories Maker 125/1, Fair maiden on the Flat, making GB/IRE jumps debut. 11/1, last of 5 in handicap at Windsor (11.4f, heavy). Off 10 months. First run for yard after leaving Charlie Johnston. Best of five runs in Britain when second in a 1m4f handicap on soft, best watched. |

150/1(-200%) | (12) Pourquoi Poi 150/1, Ocovango gelding. Half-brother to useful hurdler First Assignment and fair hurdler Bridane Rebel, stayed 25f. Half-brother to useful staying hurdler First Assignment, stout pedigree, may need further. |
The form of CARRIED WITH LOVE's fourth place in a big field at Cork looks strong now. Several horses have gone in since then, including the winner, who followed up in good style in the juvenile handicap hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival last week. Mo Ghille Mar has contested two decent hurdle races and could find maiden company more to her liking. Sundance Sioux couldn't make an impression on the winner at Fairyhouse, but did take the runner-up berth which gives him claims. Blake is one for a market check on jumping debut for Noel Meade. He won twice on the Flat in Britain and signed off there with a sixth place in a valuable staying handicap. Sixtripleeight and Bruant are others to consider.
SUNDANCE SIOUX has run well in both his starts over hurdles and gets the nod in an open-looking contest. Carried With Love and Mo Ghille Mar head the list of dangers.
Dropped to maiden company for her third hurdles start MO GHILLE MAR can make her experience count in a likely clash with Blake

![]() Celestial Reign |
(7) 9/1(-100%) | (7) Celestial Reign 9/1, Fair maiden on the Flat for Joseph O'Brien when last seen out in September. Much respected starting out for a new yard in this sphere. Showed ability in light Flat career for Joseph O'Brien; not ruled out on hurdle/yard debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (2) ![]() Lawmans Blis |
4/1(-14%) | (2) Lawmans Blis 4/1, Fair winner at 14f on flat for Ivan Furtado. Not disgraced for his new yard when sixth of 7 in claiming hurdle at Catterick (15.7f, good to firm) 15 days ago, hindered by an error 2 out. Can go well. 5-time Flat winner; fair effort in claiming hurdle at Catterick recently; possible player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) ![]() Mr Globalist |
28/1(+44%) | (5) Mr Globalist 28/1, Remains a maiden after 16 hurdle runs and only tenth of 11 in handicap hurdle at Newcastle (16.9f, good) 26 days ago. Hard to warm to. Longstanding maiden who was tailed off in two ordinary handicaps last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) ![]() Long Time Listener |
28/1(-12%) | (3) Long Time Listener 28/1, Point bumper winner but no real impact on NH debut 12 months ago or on switch to hurdling at Newcastle and Carlisle. More is required. Has shown ability in the past but well beaten at 80-1 in recent Carlisle novice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) ![]() Macho Sun |
200/1(-100%) | (4) Macho Sun 200/1, Modest maiden on the Flat but pulled up in novice hurdle at Catterick (15.7f, good to soft) 23 days ago. Needs a subsequent wind op to spark major improvement. Regressive maiden on the Flat and tailed off/pulled up on first two hurdle starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (1) ![]() Paddys Policy |
1/2(+6%) | (1) Paddys Policy 1/2, Runner-up only outing in Irish points and got off the mark under Rules over C&D in Boxing Day. Only fourth of 6 in the mud in 2m Bangor novice last month but has the form to be a big player back under these less testing conditions. C&D win in December; well beaten at Bangor since but in a warm novice; leading claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (6) ![]() Cap Ricochet |
12/1(+40%) | (6) Cap Ricochet 12/1, 22/1, fifth of 6 in juvenile at Carlisle (17f, good to soft) on hurdles bow 11 days ago. Lots more is required. Fair fourth of nine on debut in bumper in December but well beaten the next twice. |
PADDYS POLICY may have been well beaten at Bangor but he sets the standard on his previous success at Sedgefield, where he made all to score comfortably. Celestial Reign showed some ability on the level and could be interesting on his first run for Micky Hammond. Lawmans Blis makes his second appearance since returning to the in-form Jennie Candlish team and cannot be ruled out.
PADDY'S POLICY holds the edge on form and can boast a C&D success so is taken to quickly resume winning ways having performed below expectations in the mud at Bangor last time. Lawmans Blis rates the chief threat for his new handler, although hurdling newcomer Celestial Reign could also have a say, especially if the market vibes are positive.
This could be a good opportunity for C&D winner PADDYS POLICY to defy a penalty. Lawmans Blis is the obvious danger.

1st (1) ![]() My Friend Sean |
8/11(+47%) | (1) My Friend Sean 8/11, Followed brace of 2m Uttoxeter wins with a creditable third at Lingfield (16f, heavy) last month, doing well in the circumstances having got racing far too early, the form franked subsequently. Very much of interest off the same mark, albeit facing quicker conditions. Has turned a major corner; big shout if the same on the forecast good ground here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) ![]() Victor Haze |
33/1(+50%) | (7) Victor Haze 33/1, Well-held in maiden/novice hurdles and fared no better when 7 lb out of the weights on handicap hurdle debut earlier this month. Again races from out of the handicap and this looks an uphill task. 22l sixth of nine on handicap debut at Hereford (2m, good) when 7lb wrong, as he is today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) ![]() Robins Field |
9/1(+44%) | (5) Robins Field 9/1, Maiden has been pulled up on 4 of his 6 starts over hurdles and despite a respectable second at Lingfield over fences on reappearance in December, failed to back that up when disappointing at the same venue 9 days on, for all the race may have come too soon. Reverts to hurdling with a bit to prove. 0-20 under rules; runner-up seven times but they were all over fences (from 14 chases). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) ![]() Port Or Starboard |
5/2(+50%) | (2) Port Or Starboard 5/2, Gained sole hurdles win at Exeter in March 2023 and has remained a fairly consistent performer at this level, wasn't disgraced after 8 weeks off when fifth of 9 in a handicap hurdle at Ludlow (15.8f, soft) three weeks ago, having not been suited by the emphasis on speed. Entitled to be in the mix. Just one win from his 30 races; six seconds includes his penultimate start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) ![]() Jackson's Bay |
15/2(0%) | (4) Jackson's Bay 15/2, Half-brother to 6 winners, including smart hurdler Marsh Warbler. Showed more than on debut when fifth at Taunton in December and shaped better than the bare result when fourth of 6 in a juvenile hurdle at this venue in January. May do better now handicapping and one to note in the betting. 4yo who needs markedly better but worth a market check on handicap debut. |
Now that the penny has dropped over hurdles for REMARKABLE FLIGHT after a comfortable success at Fakenham last week, Jennie Candlish's charge is likely to have plenty more improvement forthcoming and she can follow up under a 7lb penalty. A winner of two of his last three starts, My Friend Sean is expected to be thereabouts, along with Port Or Starboard, who has dropped to a mark 3lb lower than his last victory.
MY FRIEND SEAN lost little in defeat when foiled in his bid for a hat-trick last month, doing well to finish third having got racing too early. The pair that finished ahead of him have franked that form since, and this looks a good opportunity to regain the winning thread in an ordinary 0-100 handicap. Port Or Starboard is a fairly consistent operator at this level and has won off a higher mark than this, while last-time out winner Remarkable Flight may prefer this more galloping track.
Slight preference ahead of Remarkable Flight is for MY FRIEND SEAN, who's strung together a solid sequence in his last three starts.

1st (3) ![]() Ciao Adios |
9/1(+18%) | (3) Ciao Adios 9/1, Ran respectably making handicap bow (after 7 months off) when eighth of 16 in handicap hurdle at Clonmel (16f, heavy) 21 days ago, considerably handled once her chance had gone. Should be sharper for that run and holds each-way claims. Good form in maiden hurdles last summer, heavy to blame latest, contender for red-hot yard. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (18) ![]() Cramers Valley |
6/1(+57%) | (18) Cramers Valley 6/1, Back to form when fourth of 16 in handicap hurdle at Gowran (16f, soft) in January but paid the price for doing too much too soon when pulled up at Clonmel last month. Chance if he can race more efficiently. Good runs last summer; needs to improve on recent form and best form in testing conditions. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) ![]() Phoenix Cowboy |
7/1(+0%) | (6) Phoenix Cowboy 7/1, Fairly useful on Flat and has shown enough to suggest he is capable of winning a race in this sphere. Failed to see out his race when fourth of 13 in handicap hurdle (5/1) at Clonmel (19f, soft) 35 days ago. Drops back to extended 2m and makes appeal now racing off a career-low mark. Moderate fourth at Clonmel latest and might have to settle for a minor role again. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (11) ![]() Who's In Midfield |
17/2(-6%) | (11) Who's In Midfield 17/2, Left behind maiden hurdle form with much improved effort on handicap debut, Third of 20 in at Down Royal (16.8f, good to soft, 28/1) in May. Off 10 months but no surprise to see him resume progress on his return. Third of 20 at Down Royal on handicap bow last May; absence to overcome but Slevin booked. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) ![]() Brianna Lily |
25/1(+50%) | (2) Brianna Lily 25/1, Well-beaten in a pair of handicaps last month, latest tenth of 23 in handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse (20f, soft) 26 days ago. Drop in trip not guaranteed to suit and others preferred on recent evidence. Recent efforts leave her with a fair bit to find and likely to be outpaced over this trip. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (17) ![]() Opera Point |
20/1(+0%) | (17) Opera Point 20/1, Maiden left behind a series of disappointing efforts when showing much improved form in a claiming hurdle last month (fifth of 10, 16f, Clonmel). Question is whether she can back it up in a stronger race. Never closer than 10th in 7 starts over hurdles prior to moderate fifth in claiming hurdle. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) ![]() Dream Shaper |
33/1(-65%) | (1) Dream Shaper 33/1, In decent form at the beginning on the season, running creditably in a big-field Galway handicap and maiden, but well below form when last seen eleventh of 15 in handicap hurdle at Tipperary (20.4f, soft) 118 days ago. One to note in the betting on his return. 0-17 under rules, best effort at Galway in September off 102 but has regressed since. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (16) ![]() Added Bonus |
18/1(-80%) | (16) Added Bonus 18/1, Ran one of his better races in this sphere when second of 19 in handicap hurdle at Naas (16.2f, good to soft, 33/1) in December but failed to reproduce that over fences seventh of 13 in handicap chase at Thurles (16f, good) 42 days ago. Isn't totally dismissed back over the smaller obstacles. Beaten a neck in amateur handicap at Naas in December; risky profile but has ability. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (14) ![]() Tremaine |
14/1(+58%) | (14) Tremaine 14/1, Flat winner over 9f in France and looked to have been brought along with handicaps in mind, but disappointed with cheekpieces on for first time, twelfth of 17 on handicap debut at Leopardstown (16f, good to soft, 25/1) 18 days ago. Bit to prove on the back of that effort. Headgear combination didn't help matters in Leopardstown handicap latest; hard to fancy. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (7) ![]() Gino Bella |
11/4(+77%) | (7) Gino Bella 11/4, Lightly-raced sort not seen to best effect on final qualifying run, sixth of 14 in novice hurdle at Naas (18.7f, heavy, 150/1) 53 days ago having raced too keenly. Makes handicap hurdle debut and this test should suit her better. Sixth behind some good types at Naas latest; better expected from her now on handicap bow. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (9) ![]() Smallcraftwarning |
12/1(+25%) | (9) Smallcraftwarning 12/1, Hurdle winner at Thurles (16f, soft) last season and backed up that form with some creditable placed efforts. Not seen to best effect latest (after 5 months off) having been hampered at the first hurdle. Each-way prospects. Thurles handicap winner last year looked in need of the run on latest, not discounted. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (20) ![]() Internet Biddy |
25/1(+38%) | (20) Internet Biddy 25/1, Modest performer has made slightly more impact this season. 150/1, seventh of 14 in handicap hurdle at Clonmel (16.1f, soft) 35 days ago but likely to again find a few too good in this contest. Better when beaten around 15l in Clonmel handicap on latest but still has plenty to find. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (8) ![]() Park Rules |
40/1(+20%) | (8) Park Rules 40/1, Walk In The Park mare showed enough in three starts in maiden company to suggest she is capable of making an impact in handicaps, though the market should guide expectations on handicap hurdle debut. Moderate ability in 3 maiden hurdle starts; needs to find much more but market will guide. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (4) ![]() Our Uncle Jack |
20/1(-25%) | (4) Our Uncle Jack 20/1, Got off the mark over hurdles at the second attempt in first-time tongue strap (Tramore, 2m, heavy) and best not judged on most recent outing, when failing to see out the longer trip on handicap debut at Punchestown (20f), made too much use of after 7-months off. Place claims back in trip. 2m maiden win at Tramore in Oct' 2023, big lead on return but weakened, this trip a help. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (19) ![]() A Family Affair |
16/1(+36%) | (19) A Family Affair 16/1, Well-held at long odds in maiden company and was too free to do herself justice on handicap debut when finishing down the field at Clonmel (16f) three weeks ago. Needs to settle better if she's to have a say on second start in handicap company. Very free when again well beaten at Clonmel on handicap bow; she will want further. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (10) ![]() Sandyman |
22/1(-38%) | (10) Sandyman 22/1, Maiden in this sphere after 9 attempts. Latest was first run since leaving John McConnell when respectable seventh of 14 in handicap hurdle (10/1) at Fairyhouse (20.5f, good) 124 days ago, typically finding less than looked likely. Needs to step up on that performance. Three-time Flat winner; never in the first three over hurdles; needs to improve. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
15th (21) ![]() Roxboro River |
16/1(-78%) | (21) Roxboro River 16/1, Back on track on final start in maidens, sixth of 14 in novice hurdle at Thurles (20f, good to soft, 14/1) 14 days ago. Makes handicap hurdle debut and would be of interest if support comes his way. RESERVE. Good run on first start for Shark Hanlon at Thurles; player on handicap bow; reserve. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) ![]() Comanche Moon |
12/1(-140%) | (5) Comanche Moon 12/1, Lightly-raced maiden didn't achieve much in qualifying runs, but very much caught the eye on handicap debut when not given a hard time finishing fifth of 19 in handicap hurdle at Naas (16f, soft, 28/1) 11 days ago. One to be interested in if the market vibes are positive. Good fifth of 19 at Naas on handicap debut 11 days ago; shrewd yard so watch the betting. |
ADDED BONUS has been chasing, but was a close second on a rare venture over hurdles at Naas in December. He stayed on well to strongly press the winner which bodes well for another crack at the smaller obstacles. Comanche Moon made up late ground for fifth on his handicap debut in Naas this month and looks dangerous on the back of that run. Who's In Midfield didn't fare badly at all in third at Down Royal but that run was in May last year, so the market should be informative on his return to action. Reserves Silent Dawn and Bal Kauto would be of interest if getting a run.
Once fairly useful on the Flat, PHOENIX COWBOY is racing from a career-low hurdles mark and having failed to see out his race over a longer trip last time, he may be seen to better effect back at this extended 2 miles. Go Gill Go needs to bounce back from a disappointing effort, but the booking of Rachael Blackmore suggests a better run could be in the offing, while Comanche Moon could be very interesting on second start in handicaps if the market vibes are positive.
The vote goes to CIAO ADIOS, whose trainer Adrian Murray is in red-hot form both on the Flat and over jumps

1st (4) ![]() Scorsese |
5/6(+58%) | (4) Scorsese 5/6, Shaped well, in first-time blinkers, when fourth of 12 in handicap hurdle (9/2) at Exeter (23.1f, good to soft) 13 days ago. Has dropped to an attractive mark and holds strong claims. 0-9 under rules but hinted at promise in these blinkers latest; going left-handed can help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) ![]() Benefit Ben |
10/3(+0%) | (2) Benefit Ben 10/3, Landed gamble when capitalising on falling mark in C&D handicap last month. Nowhere near that level at Newcastle since, however, and others appeal more. Disappointing last time but that may have come too soon after easy win over this C&D. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) ![]() Ballela Blaze |
8/1(+60%) | (5) Ballela Blaze 8/1, Easy winner sole start in Irish points in March 2023 but comfortably held in a bumper and 4 hurdles under Rules since, latest on handicap debut at Huntingdon last month. Improvement possible now up in trip but well beaten at 50-1 on last month's handicap debut. |

18/1(+45%) | (7) Jysuis 18/1, Placed all 3 starts in bumpers in France but yet to make an impact on Flat or over hurdles for current yard. Plenty to prove at present. He's dropped down the weights but unable to pose a threat in handicap hurdles last year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) ![]() Grand Scheme |
10/1(-150%) | (9) Grand Scheme 10/1, Fairly useful handicapper on the Flat for Richard Hannon. Below that level in 3 runs over hurdles back in 2023 but ran respectably on level earlier this month and is worth monitoring in market on handicap hurdle debut. Regressive on the Flat but one to watch in the market now up in trip on h'cap hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) ![]() Reel Her In |
18/1(-125%) | (3) Reel Her In 18/1, Just poor form so far over hurdles but was progressive on the Flat last autumn, winning a brace of handicaps and can't be ruled out back over timber here. 0-6 over hurdles but today's trip could suit this two-time Flat winner; possible contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) ![]() East Eagle |
22/1(-57%) | (8) East Eagle 22/1, Remains a maiden and arrives on back of disappointing effort at Market Rasen. May do better now faced with a sounder surface, though. Runner-up at Market Rasen in October but he's struggled since and is now 0-10. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) ![]() Bamboo Bay |
40/1(-60%) | (6) Bamboo Bay 40/1, Well held and pulled up when last seen over hurdles and latest Flat effort doesn't inspire any confidence of a revival. Pulled up in November on last hurdle start; hasn't shone on AW over the winter. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) ![]() Bobby J |
80/1(-220%) | (10) Bobby J 80/1, No show in 3 hurdles starts in mud thus far. Faces different conditions here but he remains hard to recommend with any confidence on switch to handicaps. Has shown very little but goes handicapping off a basement mark; check the betting. |
A chance can be taken on BENEFIT BEN to bounce back to the form of his easy success over C&D, having subsequently disappointed over shorter at Newcastle. Danny McMenamin returning to the saddle is a plus and he is narrowly preferred to Scorsese, who showed more for in-form connections when fourth at Exeter. A recruit from the Irish point-to-point scene, Scar Bridge is likely to improve for her first run in this sphere and may relish the step up in trip.
SCORSESE has ran with promise the last twice and figures off a handy mark. He makes plenty of appeal. Grand Scheme and Scar Bridge can also make their presence felt.
The drop back in trip and return to a left-handed track could be ideal for SCORSESE, who is unexposed in the blinkers.

![]() Not Now Nathaniel |
(2) SP(+100%) | (2) Not Now Nathaniel SP, Successful on sole outing in bumpers and also won first 2 starts over hurdles. Similar form in defeat kept to novice company next 2 outings but was comfortably held from a stiff-looking mark over C&D on most recent start. 5 lb claimer takes over in the saddle. Has form figures of 112 on good ground; could be set for a productive spring campaign. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (1) ![]() Ascending Lark |
SP(+100%) | (1) Ascending Lark SP, Made it 4-4 over hurdles since joining Harry Derham in a thinly-contested handicap at Exeter (16.7f, heavy) 27 days ago, driven out. Thriving and sure to go well again. 4-4 since joining new yard and switched to hurdles; beat two rivals at Exeter last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) ![]() Plantaroma |
SP(+100%) | (3) Plantaroma SP, Fair in bumpers and similar form when making the frame first 3 starts over hurdles. Too free when a well beaten third at Kempton in February but had made progress into a prominent position when falling 3 out at Huntingdon last week. Good claims if none the worse. Consistent maiden; in a handy position when stumbling and falling at Huntingdon last week. |
ASCENDING LARK is unbeaten in four starts since joining Harry Derham and the seven-year-old has been found another excellent opportunity to continue her winning run. Her victories this season at Newcastle and Exeter have been in handicap company and another 4lb rise doesn't appear to be insurmountable. Plantaroma was unlucky at Huntingdon on her first run after a wind operation and looks more of a threat than Not Now Nathaniel.
Some of PLANTAROMA's earlier form reads well, so she's taken to get off the mark providing she's none the worse for her recent fall at Huntingdon. Ascending Lark is thriving and seems sure to give another good account.
The assessor has possibly not yet caught up with ASCENDING LARK, who continues to progress. Plantaroma is second choice.

![]() Totowolfe |
(9) 20/1(+39%) | (9) Totowolfe 20/1, Irish point winner who has shown only poor form over hurdles and fences, pulled up in 3m1f handicap chase at Hereford last time. Hard to warm to. 0-9 under rules and well behind Puddlesinthepark and Lock Out last time at Hereford. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (1) ![]() Redbridge Rambler |
15/2(-88%) | (1) Redbridge Rambler 15/2, Fair winner at 24f over hurdles but yet to match that form in this sphere, fourth of 9 in handicap chase at Uttoxeter (20f, soft) 54 days ago. Needs to step forward after a break. Winning hurdler and he's on a good mark should it ever come together over fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) ![]() Jessmae |
9/2(+36%) | (7) Jessmae 9/2, Still a maiden and he recorded a fair third of 6 in handicap chase at Market Rasen (23.9f, good to soft) 30 days ago. Possibilities. Kept finding for pressure to be 11l off the winner last time at Market Rasen. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) ![]() Puddlesinthepark |
4/1(+11%) | (4) Puddlesinthepark 4/1, Scored at Hereford in February and yet to be asked for his effort when unseated rider 5 out in handicap chase at Ffos Las (23.8f, heavy) 20 days ago. Not ruled out. Running well until a mid-race unseat last time; should be involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) ![]() Unspeakable |
4/1(+11%) | (5) Unspeakable 4/1, On al losing run but he comes here on the back of a good second of 10 in handicap chase at Taunton (26.3f, good to soft) 80 days ago. A likely player after a break. Off since December but met an improver last time and he's off an untouched mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) ![]() Lock Out |
7/2(+36%) | (3) Lock Out 7/2, C&D winner but he came in a well-held second of 7 in handicap chase at Wincanton (25.1f, soft) 14 days ago. Weighted to go well though if back on his A-game. C&D winner and capable on his day but can be up and own; not the percentage call. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) ![]() Frankie Roy |
12/1(+25%) | (6) Frankie Roy 12/1, Lightly-raced maiden who was pulled up in handicap chase at Ffos Las (23.8f, heavy) on his debut over fences 42 days ago. Cheekpieces are reached for now. Poor so far (including chase debut) but completely unexposed away from soft/heavy ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) ![]() Macfin |
11/1(-47%) | (2) Macfin 11/1, Placed all 3 starts over fences for Nigel Twiston-Davies in 2021/22. Won 4 starts between the flags since but pulled up in 3m Southwell handicap chase in January. Needs a big step forward. Multiple point winner; hasn't offered much in two chases following a long absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) ![]() Janeslittlevoice |
25/1(-194%) | (8) Janeslittlevoice 25/1, Maiden hurdler but she took really well to fences, bagging 3m1f handicaps at Newton Abbot and Wincanton when last seen out 17 months ago. No forlorn hope despite her lengthy absence. In cracking form when last seen but an 11yo now and has been off since October 2023. |
Lightly raced for an 11-year-old, JANESLITTLEVOICE comes in here fresh having not run since scoring over 3m1f at Wincanton in October 2023. She was in good nick that year and, if picking up from where she left off, she could get the better of Puddlesinthepark, who has strong claims on his penultimate second at Ludlow last month. Jessmae and Unspeakable are capable of being in the shake-up as well.
UNSPEAKABLE posted a good second at Taunton last time out and is taken to gain a deserved first win in this sphere at the chief expense of in-form Puddlesinthepark. Lock Out is another who can have a say if on song.
This looks very open. Marginal preference is for REDBRIDGE RAMBLER who should be on a good mark and it's still early days over fences.

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (21) ![]() You'llfindandsee |
200/1(0%) | (21) You'llfindandsee 200/1, Modest winner at 12f on flat. 33/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time in this code, unseated rider 3rd in novice hurdle at this course (16f, heavy). Off over 5 years. Last seen unseating rider over hurdles at this track in November 2019; impossible to fancy. |
BRIGHT LEGEND ran well for a long way before dropping to fourth over further in a Grade 2 novices' hurdle at Haydock last month. Furthermore, he has plenty of placed form in good races to advertise his chance. The 118-rated St Cuthbert's Cave is a worthy rival. Gordon Elliott's charge has been placed in his last two maiden hurdles, including when held by a neck in second at Clonmel last time out. Sporting Glance makes his hurdle debut off a break, but is a former point-to-point winner and finished runner-up in a Galway bumper last summer. Saint Le Fort has been keen in his couple of runs over flights, but was a notable third in a Listed bumper at Limerick around a year ago.
BRIGHT LEGEND is still to get his head in front in this sphere but rates the clear form pick and will benefit from this drop back in trip too so gets the nod. In-form maiden St Cuthbert's Cave is next on the list ahead of Saint Le Fort, Our Soldier and Promontory who can fight it out for minor honours.
Preference is for ST CUTHBERT'S CAVE, who stuck on gamely when beaten a neck at Clonmel last month and he won a bumper on decent ground

![]() Ballydisco |
(3) 4/1(+0%) | (3) Ballydisco 4/1, Losing run is mounting up and remains a maiden over fences, though went close in small field at Wetherby in November. Not beaten far on his last couple of starts and this step back up in trip looks the way to go. First-time tongue tie applied. 0-10 over fences but has posted some good efforts and he could be in the mix. |

1st (6) ![]() Old Page |
6/1(+40%) | (6) Old Page 6/1, Belatedly off the mark over C&D in November and acquitted himself well all 3 starts since, latest when second of 4 at this C&D (good to soft) 9 days ago. 5 lb out of the weights here but ought to give another good account. Some good runs here this term despite jumping to the right, but he's 5lb wrong today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) ![]() Siberian Star |
7/4(-27%) | (4) Siberian Star 7/4, Point winner who got off the mark at fourth time of asking for current yard when narrowly taking 6-runner handicap chase at Catterick in January. Looked in control for much of the straight back chasing at Doncaster (24f, good) earlier in the month and remains well treated from just 1 lb higher. Won at Catterick in January and went close at Doncaster this month; solid claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) ![]() Super Citizen |
9/2(+18%) | (5) Super Citizen 9/2, Largely consistent since bagging a Kelso hunter 14 months ago. Dipped below his recent form at Doncaster (26f, good) last month and fancied to quickly get back on track. Below-par 5th at Doncaster last time but in pretty good form previously; could bounce back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) ![]() Topofthecotswolds |
16/1(-129%) | (2) Topofthecotswolds 16/1, Very much in the doldrums over fences for Nigel Twiston-Davies during second half of last year. Went with little encouragement on first completed start for the yard at Market Rasen (20.6f, good) 16 days ago and the handicapper given him a chance back chasing. Cheekpieces reapplied. 11yo whose form has deteriorated but he's not discounted off a dangerous mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) ![]() Yippee Ki Yay |
5/1(+17%) | (1) Yippee Ki Yay 5/1, Dual-hunter chase winner who was fit from points and didn't shape too badly switched to handicap company when mid-field at Windsor (28.7f, good to soft) in January. Could well build on that down in class. Two hunter wins last spring and should appreciate drop back in grade on second h'cap start. |
Caught close home at Doncaster, SIBERIAN STAR looks the one to beat off just 1lb higher, with Sean Bowen taking over in the saddle. The step up in trip should not inconvenience him and it may be Ballydisco who gives him the most to think about, having bounced back to form with a placed effort at Ayr. Progressive in hunter chases last season, Yippee Ki Yay is proven over this distance and is another to consider.
Preference is for SIBERIAN STAR, who looked in control for much of the straight before being collared late in the piece by a subsequent winner at Doncaster earlier in the month. Remaining well treated nudged up just 1 lb, Peter & Mickey Bowen's 10-y-o can double his tally for the season at the expense of Ballydisco, who should appreciate this step back up in trip. Yippee Ki Yay looks best of the remainder.
With the form of his clear second at Doncaster this month having been franked by the winner, SIBERIAN STAR (nap) can go one better.

15/8(+25%) | (4) Sun Art 15/8, Masked Marvel gelding who improved on hurdles debut form when third in a Southwell maiden (15.8f) in December. Still too raw and unable to sustain his effort when fifth on handicap debut at Huntingdon (15.8f) 6 weeks ago and he remains capable of better. Tongue strap on 1st time. Chance of winning partly depends on how well he responds to tongue-tie. |

2nd (5) ![]() Marche D'aligre |
4/5(-10%) | (5) Marche D'aligre 4/5, Fairly useful Flat winner in France and struck at the first time of asking over hurdles in 2m Wetherby juvenile in November. Excellent second in Chepstow Grade 2 next time and clearly not 100% when well beaten at Haydock last month. Sets a clear standard here. Fairly useful juvenile hurdler; Grade 2 runner-up; respected back down in class. |

33/1(+0%) | (6) Bluenose Belle 33/1, Fair AW Flat winner who shaped much better than first time up in this sphere when fourth in an 8-runner Southwell maiden (15.8f) 17 days ago, too keen to last out but making good mid-race progress. Another to note once her attentions switch to handicaps. Only a modest fourth at Southwell last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) ![]() Millsbridge |
200/1(+0%) | (2) Millsbridge 200/1, Little encouragement when well-beaten only start in bumpers in April and, having pulled his way through the field early, he unseated first on hurdles debut at Taunton 10 days ago. Best watched. Got no further than the first hurdle at Taunton. |

|PU| (1) ![]() Blackijo Dagrostis |
40/1(+60%) | (1) Blackijo Dagrostis 40/1, Brave Mansonnien gelding. Maiden pointer, last of 5 finishers last time (Feb 16). Wears a tongue strap for Rules debut and percentage call is to look elsewhere. Rules debutante who appears to have limitations, with point record 0-8. |
MARCHE D'ALIGRE sets the standard based on his second in the Finale at Chepstow and the four-year-old, who was subsequently disappointing at Haydock, is more than capable of returning to winning ways. Rascallion filled the runner-up spot over C&D in November and would have to enter calculations on his first appearance for Henrietta Knight, while a first-time tongue-tie might aid the cause of Sun Art.
MARCHE D'ALIGRE sets a clear standard on his Grade 2 second at Chepstow over Christmas and, with his latest effort at Haydock best overlooked, he rates an obvious player returned to calmer waters. Sun Art and Rascallion can give Jamie Snowden's 4-y-o most to think about.
Finale runner-up Marche d'Aligre holds leading claims provided the ground is suitable. RASCALLION is a solid alternative.

Early days but improvement will be needed back from a break on quicker ground. Won Irish point; well beaten in bumper and maiden hurdle but pretty useful jumps pedigree. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) ![]() Hard As Nails |
SP(+100%) | (1) Hard As Nails SP, Dual bumper/hurdle winner. Possibly unsuited by testing ground when below par in Wetherby handicap last month and should find these conditions more to her liking. Twice made all; 2m4f may help to explain the two heavy defeats among her last four starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) ![]() Put A Lid On It |
50/1(-150%) | (5) Put A Lid On It 50/1, In good hands but didn't achieve a great deal in 2 bumpers last summer. Hard As Nails looks the stable first string unless the betting hints otherwise. Modest in bumpers at Worcester (good) in July and Fontwell (good to soft) in September. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) ![]() Chique Angel |
5/1(-82%) | (3) Chique Angel 5/1, Reached the frame in 2 bumpers a year apart. Seemingly stretched by 21f on heavy ground when a remote fourth on Wincanton hurdle debut 7 weeks ago. Could leave that form well behind back at shorter. In the frame in bumpers; 4-1 for hurdle debut at Wincanton (2m5f, heavy) but beaten 28l. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) ![]() Seventeenothree |
150/1(-127%) | (6) Seventeenothree 150/1, Made the frame in 2 bumpers in January but always behind in a pair of Wincanton hurdles in recent weeks. Fourth in January in her two bumpers but tailed off at Wincanton in her two hurdle races. |
This can go the way of HARD AS NAILS, who disappointed over further at Wetherby last time out but is better judged on her penultimate second at Newcastle when only beaten a length. Fergal O'Brien's mare should have no issues on this sounder surface and it may be that Jaminska gives her the most to think about dropping in distance. Chique Angel has yet to show much in three starts, but she remains unexposed and open to improvement.
The Paul Nicholls-trained CHIQUE ANGEL is faced with a very different test than when a remote fourth on her hurdle debut and is taken to leave that form well behind and prove too strong for more-established pair Hard As Nails and Jaminska, who could both benefit from the return to quicker ground.
Hard As Nails and Jaminska are the form picks. There is also the chance of improvement from HARD DEALT and Chique Angel.

7/1(-8%) | (8) Luminous Light 7/1, Course winner. 7/1, didn't need to improve to win 13-runner handicap chase at Clonmel (16.7f, soft) 35 days ago, well ridden. Switches from chase to hurdles. Has good chance on form. Recent chase winner should handle ground; one to consider off 5lb lower hurdles mark. |

100/1(-100%) | (2) Cafe Con Leche 100/1, Course winner. Ninth of 10 in claiming hurdle (33/1) at Clonmel (16f, heavy) 21 days ago. Up in trip. Better for recent comeback run but ideally wants it softer. |

3rd (15) ![]() Jolie Jewel |
12/1(+14%) | (15) Jolie Jewel 12/1, 4/1, below form ninth of 17 in handicap hurdle at Leopardstown (16f, good to soft) 18 days ago. Back up in trip. Hood back on. Can give a good account without posing serious threat to principals. Positive tactics backfired on recent comeback run but remains of interest off this mark. |

5th (20) ![]() Mount Mandela |
20/1(-67%) | (20) Mount Mandela 20/1, Lightly-raced maiden under Rules. Bit below form fifth of 14 in novice hurdle at Wexford (16.4f, heavy, 6/1) 143 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time. 18/1(-13%) | (10) Paradise Lost 18/1, Bit below form ninth of 20 in handicap hurdle at Gowran (19.8f, heavy, 12/1) 33 days ago. Others preferred. Soft ground Flat form last autumn but recent hurdles run leave him with plenty to find. |

12/1(+25%) | (21) The Diddler 12/1, 7/1, last of 16 in handicap hurdle at Punchestown (20.6f, heavy) 67 days ago, folding tamely. Has work to do. Soft may have been against her latest; better ground here should suit. |

|F| (5) ![]() Jacovec Cavern |
6/1(+57%) | (5) Jacovec Cavern 6/1, 16/1, respectable tenth of 19 in handicap hurdle at Naas (23.1f, heavy) 25 days ago. Merits consideration. Ground too testing at Naas latest; better ground should suit but others still preferred. |

18/1(-50%) | (9) Housemartin 18/1, Latest win in hurdle at Roscommon in August. Creditable sixth of 20 in handicap hurdle at Gowran (19.8f, heavy, 16/1) 33 days ago. Can make presence felt. Better for recent comeback run and handles good ground so don't rule out. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (14) ![]() Desert Friend |
18/1(+28%) | (14) Desert Friend 18/1, Bit below form fifth of 17 in handicap hurdle (28/1) at Leopardstown (16f, good to soft) 18 days ago. Up in trip. Better for recent comeback run although yet to totally convince over this far. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (11) ![]() Well Del |
33/1(+0%) | (11) Well Del 33/1, Fair winner at 19f in chases. Last of 9 in novice hurdle (28/1) at Thurles (23.2f, good) 89 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Liam G. O'Brien. Makes handicap hurdle debut. Changed yards since December run and market may be best guide to readiness. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (3) ![]() Quest With Speed |
33/1(-32%) | (3) Quest With Speed 33/1, Possibly amiss when pulled up in novice chase at Kilbeggan (20.2f, good to soft, 11/2), labouring some way out. Off 6 months. Switches from chase to hurdles. Others more persuasive. Absent since pulled up over fences at Kilbeggan in September and may just need this. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (1) ![]() Cobra Queen |
6/1(+25%) | (1) Cobra Queen 6/1, C&D winner. 2 wins from 5 runs this season. 13/2, respectable 13½ lengths fourth of 8 to World of Fortunes in listed hurdle at Limerick (21f, good to soft) 152 days ago. Yard having good spell. Topweight back from a break with ground to suit; yard in fine form too. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (7) ![]() One Big Boum |
12/1(+25%) | (7) One Big Boum 12/1, C&D winner. Latest win in hurdle here in December. Sixteenth of 20 in handicap hurdle at Gowran (19.8f, heavy, 13/2) 33 days ago, finding nothing. Dual winner earlier in the season but out of sorts the last twice; needs to bounce back. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (19) ![]() Doctor Nightingale |
66/1(-65%) | (19) Doctor Nightingale 66/1, 14/1, seventh of 9 in handicap hurdle at Down Royal (17.2f, soft) 58 days ago. Opposable. Remains unconvincing in handicaps; others preferred. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (6) ![]() Jody Ted |
18/1(+64%) | (6) Jody Ted 18/1, Twelfth of 19 in handicap hurdle at Naas (23.1f, heavy, 50/1) 25 days ago. Difficult ask. Remains out of form and hard to be confident in despite reduced mark. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (16) ![]() Quint Major |
10/1(-43%) | (16) Quint Major 10/1, Winner in bumper at Clonmel in October. 13/2, creditable sixth of 18 in novice hurdle at Leopardstown (16f, good to soft) 18 days ago. Back up in trip. Makes handicap hurdle debut. Open to progress. Promise in maidens; potential improver upped in trip for handicap debut. |
MOYLUSSA ran a solid race in second behind a gambled-on winner at Leopardstown and could build upon that. This trip ought to be within his compass as he has a runner-up spot in a point-to-point in the book. Beggars Rock reverts to flights after a placed effort in a beginners' chase at Thurles. He was successful over a similar trip at Limerick in December. Cobra Queen is coming off a break and has plenty of weight, but she is a C&D winner and obliged in Ballinrobe on her penultimate start. Luminous Light won over fences at Clonmel and could have a say, while Quint Major is a handicap debutant lurking with intent.
LUMINOUS LIGHT made it third time lucky over fences at Clonmel last month and is appealing returned to hurdles off the same mark. With improvement likely, Quint Major is second choice ahead of Beggars Rock and Moylussa.
Wide open, a chance taken on MASTER OTIS, a winner here in the past and now upped in trip on his favoured ground

1st (1) ![]() Musique De Fee |
5/1(-150%) | (1) Musique De Fee 5/1, Arrives in good nick, doubling her career tally with a dominant display after just 6 days off at Hereford (25.5f, good) 12 days ago. Hit hard with an 11 lb rise but she may have a bit more yet to offer as a thorough stayer so is shortlisted. Easy win last time; hit with 11lb rise but strong claims if backing up that improved run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) ![]() Born In The West |
6/5(+56%) | (3) Born In The West 6/5, Found improvement since sent handicapping, putting up a complete performance to open his account in 8-runner handicap at Catterick (19.3f, good to firm) just over 2 weeks ago. 4 lb higher here and hiked significantly up in trip, he's sure to have more to offer. Won at Catterick recently and this progressive 6yo can have a big say if he stays the trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) ![]() Ocean Legacy |
11/2(+61%) | (7) Ocean Legacy 11/2, Dual chase winner who finally got the job done over hurdles (and snapped a losing run stretching back to May 2023 in the process) when landing a C&D handicap last month. Said to have bled at Southwell 12 days later (failed to see her race out) so needs to bounce back. Convincing C&D win last month; pulled up since but with excuses; not written off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) ![]() The Wise Traveller |
20/1(+20%) | (4) The Wise Traveller 20/1, Scored at Fakenham in April but both efforts following 3 months off at Southwell/Hereford in October were poor. Handicapper relinquishes his grip (now 2 lb below last winning mark) but may well need this returning from a break. Down to a handy mark but a return to form is needed on the back of a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) ![]() Maura Jeanne |
11/2(-83%) | (5) Maura Jeanne 11/2, Finally off the mark at Kelso (3¼m) in October and proved better than ever after 11 weeks off when doubling her tally in 13-runner handicap at Ayr (24.3f, soft) last month. Up 8 lb for that and needs to prove she can back it up. Has won two of her last four and stamina seems a strong suit; today's test should be ideal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) ![]() Malago Rose |
6/1(-20%) | (2) Malago Rose 6/1, Beaten a fair way on return/debut for new yard at Ludlow in November but back to winning ways in 7-runner Fakenham handicap (23.4f, soft) on New Year's Day. Ran poorly next time, but back on song when second at Plumpton last month, just taking a tad too long to hit top gear. Won at Fakenham in January and went close at Plumpton last time; on the shortlist. |
Of the three last-time-out winners, MAURA JEANNE is suggested as the principal player on the back of cosily landing a deeper race at Ayr. Alan Doyle retains the ride and another bold bid is expected, despite an 8lb higher mark. Musique De Fee jumped a bit left, but was still a wide-margin winner at Hereford. Going left-handed could prompt more, but an 11lb rise does seem harsh. Born In The West is open to improvement, but he has a mile further to travel than for his Catterick victory.
A tricky staying contest to solve but the vote goes to BORN IN THE WEST, who put up a complete performance to open his account at Catterick just over 2 weeks ago and this significant step up in trip could unlock further improvement. Heading up the dangers is Musique de Fee, who bolted up at Hereford earlier this month and may have more to offer as a thorough stayer. Another last-time-out winner Maura Jeanne rounds off the shortlist.
Last month's Ayr winner MAURA JEANNE should prove well suited by the test of stamina and can follow up.

![]() River Robe |
(4) 9/1(-50%) | (4) River Robe 9/1, Winning start for Dan Skelton in a handicap hurdle at Market Rasen last summer and matched previous best for present yard when third in handicap chase at that venue (21.4f) 16 days ago. Again operating from out of weights here but no forlorn hope with a repeat. Overall strike-rate is just 1-25 and chase record is 0-6; the least productive contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (1) ![]() Idy Wood |
11/8(+45%) | (1) Idy Wood 11/8, Consistent in the main over hurdles last term and made a winning start in this sphere when landing 6-runner novice handicap at Kempton on return. However, hasn't quite gone on as expected in trio of starts since, so drop in class/return to further needs to have positive effect here. Interesting returned to Class 4, being 4-5 at this level; form of most recent win is solid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) ![]() Ostrava Du Berlais |
9/2(-100%) | (3) Ostrava Du Berlais 9/2, Scored over fences here and at Taunton before Christmas and lines up here having run with credit on last 2 starts, second in 3-runner mares' handicap chase at Warwick (16.2f) 11 days ago. Not out of things operating from same mark. Possibilities if back to her December form, which comprised easy wins at Ludlow/Taunton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) ![]() Rock House |
7/4(+22%) | (2) Rock House 7/4, Successful on debut in points and repeated the feat in bumpers/over hurdles during 2023. Returned this winter with good placed efforts in handicaps before running below best in Morebattle Hurdle at Kelso 19 days ago. Appealing now chasing. Frustrating sort over hurdles but may improve for this switch to chasing; point winner. |
ROCK HOUSE had been running with credit this season over hurdles before finding the Morebattle at Kelso a step too far. The combination of a switch to fences and a drop in class may well help Dan Skelton's gelding in what appears to be a winnable contest on paper. Idy Wood should be a lot happier back on a sounder surface after his latest effort at Chepstow. Ostrava Du Berlais completes the shortlist.
A trappy small-field affair with a chance taken on ROCK HOUSE. He's ran well on 2 of his 3 starts in handicap hurdles this season and a switch to chasing could well suit this former point winner. Course scorer Ostrava du Berlais can also give a good account.
Back in this grade and returned to better ground, IDY WOOD (nap) is taken to defy top weight. Rock House is second choice.

![]() Fashion's Model |
(7) 10/3(0%) | (7) Fashion's Model 10/3, Opened Rules account in Wincanton handicap chase on final start of last term and back in the winning groove at Warwick (3m, soft) 27 days ago. 5 lb rise fair enough and while one couldn't be sure that she'll be in the same form given her patchy profile, she will be a danger to all if again on-song. Emerged from the doldrums to score at Warwick (3m, soft) in second-time blinkers latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (1) ![]() Gats And Co |
7/1(-75%) | (1) Gats And Co 7/1, Three of his 4 wins over fences were gained here at up to 3¼m in 2022. Hasn't tasted success since but down to an attractive mark as a result and duly left his tame reappearance run behind when runner-up at Hereford (25.2f, soft) in December. Not discounted. Second again in a 3m1f handicap in December when last seen, but hard to predict. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) ![]() Spotty Dog |
6/1(+57%) | (8) Spotty Dog 6/1, Step back in the right direction when fifth of 14 at Taunton (23f, good to soft) in January but deficiencies in the jumping department have since resurfaced. Hopes pinned on the first-time blinkers helping to spark a revival. Soundly beaten when placed in small fields on last two outings, at 3m5f on first occasion. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) ![]() Pottlerath |
15/2(+25%) | (6) Pottlerath 15/2, Completed a chase hat-trick at the start of summer 2023 but not at his best in 2024 and didn't show much back from a break over hurdles at Ludlow last month. Cheekpieces refitted now reverting to fences. Second run after six months off; usual cheekpieces return (absent last time). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) ![]() Felton Bellevue |
10/1(-82%) | (3) Felton Bellevue 10/1, Had dropped below last winning mark and took advantage in emphatic fashion when bolting up in 8-runner event at Lingfield (23.5f, soft) last month. Safely held off this revised mark at Ludlow a week later and while that race may have come too soon, he looks vulnerable. 11l win at Lingfield (2m7f, soft) last month from Twilight Glory; not so good week later. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) ![]() Dysania |
20/1(+50%) | (9) Dysania 20/1, Just the one win to his name from 25 starts overall and he's 13 lb 'wrong' at the weights. Position 13lb out of the handicap confirms this as a tough task. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) ![]() Tide Times |
28/1(+44%) | (4) Tide Times 28/1, Fairly useful handicap chaser at best but has completely lost the plot, beaten a country mile back over hurdles at Doncaster last time. Failed to complete in 2024; again looked out of sorts when back over hurdles this January. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (2) ![]() Stellar Stream |
11/4(+8%) | (2) Stellar Stream 11/4, Back on track in first-time cheekpieces when a running-on second of 7 to Katate Dori here (26.2f, heavy) in January (form boosted when the winner subsequently bolted up in a major handicap at Kempton). Blinkers now replace cheekpieces and this 8-y-o is of strong interest off the same mark. Bangor win (3m6f) last February and 2nd here (3m2f) latest, both on heavy; first blinkers. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) ![]() Twilight Glory |
5/1(+29%) | (5) Twilight Glory 5/1, Won back-to-back handicaps here last winter and stepped up on his reappearance when recording a second success at Lingfield (23.5f, soft) in December. Placed both subsequent starts, latterly beaten 10 lengths by Felton Bellevue back at Lingfield and now 7 lb better off with that rival. More to prove on good than in the mud, but this first run beyond 3m2f makes some appeal. |
GATS AND CO showed a lot more when taking the silver medal home over 3m1f at Hereford in December and was dropped 1lb. David Brace's 10-year-old is likely to relish the return to a left-handed track and he could get his head back in front. Stellar Stream sports first-time blinkers after his runner-up effort here in January and can go well, while Twilight Glory is another to watch out for.
The vote goes to STELLAR STREAM, who came up against one well ahead of his mark in Katate Dori here in January and the combination of this step back up in trip and new headgear could prove to be a winning recipe. Fashion's Model did the job well at Warwick and a reproduction of that would make her a serious player, while Twilight Glory is taken to reverse Lingfield placings with Felton Bellevue and also emerge as a threat. Gats And Co is worthy of mention, too.
The one with proven stamina is STELLAR STREAM (nap) and that may well win the day, for all that there are other questions to answer.

1st (8) ![]() Hitak |
9/1(-20%) | (8) Hitak 9/1, Lightly-raced maiden under NH rules. Has shown promise in qualifying runs over shorter trips and the step up to 3m should suit now handicapping. Potential improver who needs monitoring closely in the betting. Well-backed when close fifth at Clonmel last time out; can go well on handicap debut. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) ![]() Getaway Charlie |
14/1(+65%) | (3) Getaway Charlie 14/1, One win from 21 NH runs. 80/1, pulled up in handicap hurdle at Gowran (24.3f, heavy) 56 days ago. Others are preferred. Sole win came at Punchestown off 109 in October 2023; hard to fancy at present. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (12) ![]() Betty Dutton |
9/2(+55%) | (12) Betty Dutton 9/2, One win from 23 NH runs. Fifth of 7 in handicap hurdle (13/2) at Thurles (22.2f, good to soft) 14 days ago, better placed than most. Looks competitive on form. 2nd to Lucky Viv at Punchestown in February but no excuses behind Machismo at Thurles. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (11) ![]() Nelson County |
3/1(+40%) | (11) Nelson County 3/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 14/1, excellent third of 23 in handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse (20f, soft) 26 days ago. Up in trip. Stable having good spell. Should have more to offer. Third of 23 at Fairyhouse last month; upped in trip again and remains unexposed. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) ![]() Machismo |
5/1(-25%) | (2) Machismo 5/1, Winner in hurdle at Tramore in January. Creditable second of 7 in handicap hurdle at Thurles (22.2f, good to soft, 8/1) 14 days ago. Can make presence felt again. Showed likeness for good ground when runner-up to the well-treated Rushmount at Thurles. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) ![]() Sir Bob |
4/1(+67%) | (6) Sir Bob 4/1, Won this race last year and best effort of the current campaign when creditable fourth of 8 in handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse (24f, good to soft, 18/1) 68 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Can make a bold bid to defend his crown. Won this race last year from 3lb lower; now a 13yo but this race clearly the target. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) ![]() Lucky Viv |
9/1(-50%) | (10) Lucky Viv 9/1, Latest win in hurdle at Punchestown in February. Good third of 12 in handicap hurdle (17/2) at Punchestown (24.8f, heavy) 24 days ago. Should give another good account. Punchestown handicap winner in February remains in form; closely matched with Betty Dutton. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) ![]() Lady Bluebird |
28/1(+30%) | (9) Lady Bluebird 28/1, 33/1, 36¾ lengths tenth of 12 to Lucky Viv in handicap hurdle at Punchestown (23.3f, soft) 45 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Tailed off on her three starts since her maiden hurdle success at Down Royal last season. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) ![]() Workinonadream |
9/1(+10%) | (7) Workinonadream 9/1, 17¾ lengths fifth of 6 to Tareze in listed hurdle at Navan (20f, heavy, 18/1) 39 days ago. Back up in trip. Makes handicap hurdle debut. Fairyhouse winner was outclassed in Listed grade at Navan; interesting on her handicap bow. |
MACHISMO was clearly outgunned in second behind a 129-rated winner at Thurles, but doesn't meet the same calibre of horse here. Finn Brickley's 7lb claim should have him heavily involved in this staying assignment. Nelson County faced tough tasks in maiden hurdles, but there was definite promise in his third-placed finish on handicap debut at Fairyhouse. Flemensface has shown more than enough to get in the mix albeit but he has been performing on slower ground. Rachael Blackmore is a notable booking for Arion Soldier, who has been off track since October, while Lucky Viv has been acquitting herself well on heavy ground. Last year's winner Sir Bob and Toor Khov cannot be ruled out.
Plenty with chances in a competitive race. NELSON COUNTY shaped well when third on his 2½m Fairyhouse handicap debut last month and can come good with today's longer trip expected to be in his favour. Gordon Elliott's Machismo rates an obvious danger after finishing second off this mark last time. Last year's winner Sir Bob is another who could go well, while Flemensface and Hitak rate potential improvers now moving into handicap company for the first time.
MACHISMO showed enough when runner-up on good ground at Thurles two weeks ago to suggest he can take this from an unchanged mark

1st (4) ![]() The Paddy Pie |
13/2(-44%) | (4) The Paddy Pie 13/2, C&D winner who arrives in fine heart having scored in 3 of his last 4 starts, latest a 5-runner handicap chase at Newcastle (23.4f, good) 17 days ago, finding extra. 2 lb rise is fair and he looks sure to go well again. Two-time course winner; has won elsewhere the last twice; could play another leading role. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) ![]() Tom Creen |
11/1(+31%) | (1) Tom Creen 11/1, Made it 5 wins at this course in December but not been in same form the last twice and others are more convincing. Soundly beaten at Wetherby latest but entitled to respect now back at his favourite venue. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) ![]() Beat The Edge |
10/1(+0%) | (6) Beat The Edge 10/1, In decent form for new yard, including a 19.2f win at Catterick. However, isn't straightforward and arrives on back of poor effort at same course last month. Has some good form here but he's hard to win with; soundly beaten last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) ![]() Bebside Banter |
10/3(+49%) | (8) Bebside Banter 10/3, Made a winning reappearance over C&D in November and has acquitted himself well here twice since, latest when 1¾ lengths third of 6 to Pilgrims King in handicap chase (19.3f, soft) 43 days ago. Should give another good account. All three wins have come here, the latest over C&D (good) in November; could be involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) ![]() Pilgrims King |
6/1(-9%) | (5) Pilgrims King 6/1, Dual 19f chase winner last term. Pulled up on his first 4 outings this season but more like it when third at Fakenham prior to resuming winning ways at this course (19.3f, soft) last month. That wasn't a strong contest but claims nevertheless from 4 lb higher mark. Defied slipped saddle to win here latest, albeit with Beat The Edge throwing the race away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (7) ![]() Kings Justice |
12/1(+14%) | (7) Kings Justice 12/1, Below form at Hereford last month but was only narrowly denied at Catterick (19.2f) previously and would be a player if in same form here. Inconsistent; well beaten at Hereford latest but went very close at Catterick previously. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) ![]() No But I Will |
3/1(+25%) | (2) No But I Will 3/1, Fared much better for current yard the last twice, latest when good second of 8 in handicap chase at Taunton (16f, good) 10 days ago. Return to this longer trip should suit and he is one for the shortlist. Went very close at Taunton last Monday and he's a strong contender now back up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) ![]() Shattered Soldier |
17/2(-70%) | (3) Shattered Soldier 17/2, Point winner who showed ability in a couple of runs over hurdles and made an encouraging start in this sphere when third of 7 in handicap chase at Catterick (19.2f, good to soft, 9/4) 48 days ago. There may be more to come yet. Hood/tongue strap on first time. Third on handicap/chase debut at Catterick and this point winner could have more to offer. |
Considering the saddle slipped early, Pilgrims King posted a commendable effort to go in over the extended 2m3f here and rates a player off just 4lb higher. However, this course also brings the best out of TOM CREEN, who is just 1lb higher than when he struck at the Boxing Day fixture. Furthermore, as a previous C&D winner with juice in the ground, Sam England's 10-year-old ticks all the right boxes. The hat-trick seeking The Paddy Pie and No But I Will complete the shortlist.
NO BUT I WILL confirmed his return to form when runner-up at Taunton earlier this month and remains fairly treated. He can go one better here. The Paddy Pie and Shattered Soldier are feared most.
Last week's Taunton runner-up NO BUT I WILL could build on that performance now he's back up in trip and he gets the nod.

![]() Pinnacle Peak |
(5) 14/1(+44%) | (5) Pinnacle Peak 14/1, Productive over hurdles during a light 2023 campaign, winning twice (once at Cheltenham) but things have not gone to plans since and it's concerning that he was found to be suffering from an irregular heartbeat when pulled up at Ascot on most recent start. Plenty to prove. Competitively treated provided he stages a revival. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (2) ![]() Porter In The Park |
11/2(-57%) | (2) Porter In The Park 11/2, Better than ever when notching a third career win at Stratford in June and fitter for her return at Huntingdon when finding only an improver too good at Wincanton (21.4f) in November. Ran poorly in a higher grade at Kempton on final start but it would come as no surprise were she to bounce back. Off since November; returns to the scene of her success last spring. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) ![]() Ballybegg |
12/1(-85%) | (3) Ballybegg 12/1, Veteran who has disappointed back chasing the last twice but has possibilities from this sort of mark back over hurdles if putting his best foot forward. Possibilities off current mark if helped by the return of headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) ![]() Kado De Joie |
1/1(+33%) | (1) Kado De Joie 1/1, Progressive young hurdler who came from an unpromising position to follow up his Fontwell success in 8-runner handicap at Lingfield (19.5f) in December. Not seen to best effect under exaggerated waiting tactics at Wincanton last time and well worth another chance. Ran creditably at Wincanton in hat-trick attempt; remains of interest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) ![]() Queens Venture |
16/1(-100%) | (7) Queens Venture 16/1, Much improved since sent handicapping, winning in good style at Market Rasen (23.1f, good) before following up in similarly dominant fashion at Southwell (20.4f). Pulled up at Ascot on final start but a subsequent break could have done her good. Resumption of progress looks possible on return from layoff. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) ![]() Mostly Sunny |
9/2(+31%) | (6) Mostly Sunny 9/2, A 3-time winner on the Flat who struck twice over hurdles for Dan Skelton at the start of the season. Hasn't offered much in 3 starts since returning from a break but his mark has eased further and he's one to note with conditions in his favour. Flat record suggests he's worth another crack at this trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) ![]() Jazz King |
9/1(-20%) | (4) Jazz King 9/1, Bounced back to his best when scoring at Hereford in November. Ran at least as well in defeat at Newbury next time but found his good run coming to a surprise halt when pulled up at Huntingdon latest. Best to forgive latest effort; in good form otherwise this season. |
KADO DE JOIE and Porter In The Park look the pair to focus on. The latter commands respect on the drop down from Listed company, but Nicky Henderson's top-weight may be better suited to this trip and it's feasible that he could have too much toe for his likely main rival. Jazz King, who is a probable pace angle, had been in good form prior to pulling up on his latest start and should not be underestimated with ground conditions ideal.
KADO DE JOIE is a progressive youngster who's well worth another chance to prove this mark isn't beyond him having been left with too much to do at Wincanton. Porter In The Park can bounce back now returning to more suitable company after a break, with Mostly Sunny another to note having eased further in the weights.
Henderson runner Kado De Joie holds obvious claims. JAZZ KING looks a plausible alternative.

![]() Lake's Aventurine |
(9) 40/1(0%) | (9) Lake's Aventurine 40/1, Made the frame on first of 2 starts in bumpers but little impact in maiden hurdles, well-beaten eleventh of 14 at Ffos Las (15.8f, heavy) on latest completion in November. Fell at the first on handicap debut 8 days ago and needs more (now hooded) on second start in handicap company. Modest form and was 25-1 when departing early on last week's handicap debut; now hooded. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (3) ![]() Copper Jack |
3/1(+73%) | (3) Copper Jack 3/1, Irish point winner has shown ability in novice company, likely not best suited by the sharper test on final qualifying run, fifth of 7 in novice hurdle at Wincanton (15.2f, heavy) and may well be capable of better now switched to handicaps and stepping back up in distance. Possible improver on handicap debut following a wind operation; tongue-tie added. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) ![]() Getuptheyard |
9/2(+72%) | (7) Getuptheyard 9/2, Best effort to date came when fourth over this C&D last spring but has been underwhelming since, faring little better after wind surgery/11-week absence when down the field at Taunton last month. Needs to step forward from that run but not ruled out back at this venue off career-low mark. 0-6 in handicaps and hasn't progressed from running okay in two of his first three. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) ![]() Myfanwy's Magic |
6/1(0%) | (2) Myfanwy's Magic 6/1, Fair maiden hurdler didn't look a natural chaser and went with more fluency when reverted to hurdles in first-time cheekpieces last month when fourth of 12 at Warwick (26f, heavy), weakening. Could go well under a positive ride back in trip if headgear has same impact. Repeat of his second at Ludlow in November would give him a shout, though that was at 3m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) ![]() Small Town Hero |
8/1(-33%) | (8) Small Town Hero 8/1, Point winner showed some promise in qualifying runs but little impact on two starts in handicaps, latest when dropping significantly in trip finishing well-held at Southwell (15.8f). Step back up in distance needs to bring about improvement. Performed beneath market expectations in two handicaps; may yet do better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) ![]() Greenrock Abbey |
16/1(-113%) | (6) Greenrock Abbey 16/1, Dual winner over fences at Hereford during 2022/23 and placed twice last season but has been disappointing so far this campaign. Not best judged on most recent effort when making a bad mistake and is potentially well-treated if return to hurdles/first-time blinkers can spark a revival. Has been out of form over fences this season and blinkers now replace cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) ![]() Tillaway |
16/1(-33%) | (5) Tillaway 16/1, Some promise in qualifying runs, but seemingly handed a stiff opening mark, well-beaten over a longer trip on handicap debut (although bred to stay that far) fifth of 6 at Ffos Las (23.9f, heavy) 20 days ago. Bit to prove now dropping back in trip. Qualifying runs not devoid of promise; tailed off on h'cap debut but the ground was heavy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) ![]() Sergeant Fury |
4/1(-100%) | (1) Sergeant Fury 4/1, Successful sole outing in points and showed plenty to work on in a bumper at Wincanton and on hurdles debut at Southwell. Posted a couple of below-par efforts in between but seemingly back on track when third on handicap debut 18 days ago, travelled well. Lightly-raced and likely has more to offer. Only beaten 6l on recent handicap debut and dropping back in trip could be beneficial. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) ![]() Touquet |
5/1(+29%) | (4) Touquet 5/1, Bumper winner on debut and made successful start over hurdles (Plumpton, 15.9f) in October, but failed to progress from that run, often racing too freely to finish off his races, as was the case when pulling up on handicap debut (after 7-weeks off). Remain to be seen if he can put it all together. Disappointing since winning his novice but this handicap looks easier than his first. |
Sergeant Fury made the frame over 2m5f at Doncaster on his most recent start, shaping as if this slight drop in trip may help. However, it may pay to side with TOUQUET, who was way too free to do himself justice when being pulled up on his handicap debut at Kempton last month. With Harry Cobden booked and a 5lb lower mark to compete off dropping in grade, he looks the way to go. Myfanwy's Magic completes the shortlist.
Quite a few runners have something to prove, and the most solid option looks to be Harry Derham's lightly-raced SERGEANT FURY, who showed improved form on handicap debut earlier this month and a repeat of that effort may see him go close here. Greenrock Abbey is potentially well-treated on return to this sphere if rediscovering his form in first-time blinkers. while Myfanwy's Magic shaped with promise back over hurdles and is a player if in the same mood over this sharper test.
Harry Derham's SERGEANT FURY was perhaps stretched by a longer trip when third on his recent handicap debut.

![]() Siul Molly Siul |
(6) 4/1(+11%) | (6) Siul Molly Siul 4/1, 10/1, creditable sixth of 16 in handicap hurdle at Clonmel (16f, heavy) 21 days ago, unsuited by drop in trip. Significantly up in trip. Interesting runner. Good second over 2m3f at Clonmel last month, fair sixth over 2m at same venue last time. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (8) ![]() Cullig |
12/1(-9%) | (8) Cullig 12/1, Tongue strap on for 1st time, sixth of 9 in novice hurdle (80/1) at Punchestown (22.8f, heavy) 24 days ago. Makes handicap hurdle debut. Weak form in bumper and maidens, decent pedigree, could find her level in handicaps. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) ![]() Not May |
16/1(-167%) | (5) Not May 16/1, Placed in handicap hurdle/chase at the start of last summer. Off 9 months. Back up in trip. Claims if ready to roll after a break. Fair placed form last year including in a 2m7f handicap hurdle, lacks a recent outing. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) ![]() Kalnoo |
3/1(+0%) | (10) Kalnoo 3/1, Remains a maiden after 18 NH runs. 11/1, creditable third of 16 in handicap hurdle at Clonmel (24f, heavy) 21 days ago. Can give a good account. Last month's third over 3m at Clonmel suggests a breakthrough win is feasible. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) ![]() Mullanour |
6/1(-9%) | (3) Mullanour 6/1, 9/2, bit below form eighth of 16 in handicap hurdle at Clonmel (24f, heavy) 21 days ago but had been a good second at Limerick prior to that. Much-improved when second at Limerick, failed to reproduce form at Clonmel, held by Kalnoo. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) ![]() Milan Dollar Lady |
18/1(+10%) | (9) Milan Dollar Lady 18/1, 50/1 and visored for 1st time, thirteenth of 16 in handicap hurdle at Leopardstown (24f, good to soft) 17 days ago. Booking of Doyle a plus. Reported coughing after Fairyhouse run, no apparent excuse at Leopardstown, up against it. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) ![]() Ar Aghaidh |
25/1(-108%) | (7) Ar Aghaidh 25/1, Fell in handicap hurdle (12/1) at Sligo (25.8f, good to soft). Off since. Point winner, absent since falling at Sligo last summer, trainer also runs Not May. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) ![]() God Help Us |
14/1(+30%) | (4) God Help Us 14/1, Hooded for 1st time, pulled up in handicap hurdle at Limerick (21f, heavy, 33/1) 51 days ago, struggling when pulled up end of back straight. Others more persuasive. Pulled up at Limerick in January on seasonal debut, best form was early in his career. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (11) ![]() Glorious Singer |
10/1(+60%) | (11) Glorious Singer 10/1, Remains a maiden after 35 NH runs. 50/1, bit below form ninth of 16 in handicap hurdle at Clonmel (24f, heavy) 21 days ago. 35-race maiden, recent form suggests she is unlikely to experience a change of fortune. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (2) ![]() Ain't No Sunshine |
25/1(0%) | (2) Ain't No Sunshine 25/1, Bumper winner earlier in career but largely struggled on Flat/over hurdles since, including handicap hurdle debut latest. Bumper winner, needs to jump much better than at Punchestown in his first handicap hurdle. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) ![]() Twoplustwo Equals |
5/1(+0%) | (1) Twoplustwo Equals 5/1, Hooded for 1st time, creditable third of 18 in C&D handicap hurdle in May, ridden too aggressively. Claims if resuming from 10 months off in similar form. Showed that she could run well when fresh when third over C&D last May, off for ten months. |
Adam Ryan looks a good booking for KALNOO in this qualified riders' handicap hurdle. She posted a third-placed finish at Clonmel last month which gives her every chance of a first racecourse success. Ar Aghaidh has gone nicely off a break before and is a lightly-raced mare with brighter prospects than most in this contest. Not May will appreciate this ground and, if ready to go on her first outing since June, should contend for prize money. Twoplustwo Equals has been off for a long time, but still holds a chance after finishing third in Cork last May. The hood that brought about improvement has been retained.
SIUL MOLLY SIUL looks sure to much better suited by this test than the 2m she ran over at Clonmel and can come good at the fifth time of asking in handicaps. Kalnoo was a creditable third off this mark at the end of February and is second choice. Not May and Twoplustwo Equals could also have a say if fully primed after breaks.
From the stable responsible for last year's winner, KALNOO has good prospects of a breakthrough win following her Clonmel third

4/1(+33%) | (2) Klitschko 4/1, Not straightforward and he failed to build on earlier promise when fourth of 9 to Telhimlisten in handicap hurdle over C&D (heavy) 53 days ago. Needs to get back on track. Encouraging run at Catterick in December but 13l fourth to Telhimlisten here since. |

2nd (6) ![]() Synchronist |
10/3(-33%) | (6) Synchronist 10/3, Advanced his form on his handicap debut when scoring in 10-runner race at Southwell (15.8f, good) 17 days ago. Up 8 lb but runner-up has gone in since so he's not taken lightly with few miles still on the clock. Up 8lb for handicap debut win but this lightly raced 6yo could have more left in the tank. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) ![]() Russian Virtue |
10/1(+50%) | (3) Russian Virtue 10/1, Six-time hurdles winner for Rebecca Menzies, including over C&D, but he hasn't set the world alight in 5 starts for present yard, including over C&D last time. Others appeal more. Six-time hurdle winner but soundly beaten third of four over C&D last Tuesday. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) ![]() Allbetsoff |
6/1(+50%) | (7) Allbetsoff 6/1, A dual winner last summer who returned to form when fifth of 10 in handicap hurdle (40/1) at Market Rasen (20.6f, good) 16 days ago. Must enter calculations off a 2 lb lower mark. Encouraging signs at Market Rasen recently and could benefit from the drop back in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) ![]() Inferno Sacree |
11/4(+31%) | (5) Inferno Sacree 11/4, It's now 14 runs since his last win in 2023 but he got back on track when second of 4 in handicap hurdle over C&D (good to soft) 9 days ago. Big shout off an unchanged mark. Second of four to well-handicapped winner over C&D last week; on the shortlist. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) ![]() Caldwell |
4/1(+20%) | (4) Caldwell 4/1, A three-time hurdles/chase winner this season but he came in last of 4 in handicap chase at Newcastle (16.3f, good, 9/4) 26 days ago. Sort to bounce back though. Underwhelming over fences last time but won over hurdles prior to that; could bounce back. |
A C&D winner on his return from the sidelines, TELHIMLISTEN was unlucky not to back up that success when headed near the finish over the extended 2m4f at Plumpton. Reverting to this trip could be a key factor and the joint top-weight merits serious thought. His stable companion Caldwell helps Jennie Candlish play a strong hand, while Inferno Sacree and unexposed Southwell scorer Synchronist are others to keep an eye on.
INFERNO SACREE is on a losing run but rates the pick of these weights on the back of a resurgent C&D second last week so edges the vote. Southwell scorer Synchronist rates a big danger though, with Allbetsoff and Telhimlisten also in the picture.
This can go to SYNCHRONIST who won with something to spare on his handicap debut at Southwell and that form has been franked.

11/2(-57%) | (3) Keep Me Stable 11/2, Returned to form the last twice, latest when good second of 10 in handicap over C&D (6/1) 10 days ago, well positioned. Remains 2 lb below his last winning mark. Three-time C&D winner; runner-up here last week; future mark 1lb higher; major player. |

11/1(-10%) | (4) Spartan Fighter 11/1, 7-time course winner. Eleven runs since last win in 2024. Eighth of 9 in handicap at this course (6f, 8/1) 10 days ago. Work to do. Seven course wins; has lacked consistency this year and ran poorly the last twice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) ![]() Yorkstone |
5/2(+58%) | (5) Yorkstone 5/2, Arrives on back of respectable fifth of 7 in handicap over C&D (10/1) 19 days ago but hasn't scored since 2023. Something to find on recent form but is attractively handicapped. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) ![]() Art Fantastique |
14/1(-17%) | (6) Art Fantastique 14/1, Seventh of 9 in handicap at Lingfield (6f, AW, 9/2) 55 days ago. Blinkers on 1st time/tongue strap back on. Others more appealing. Possibilities off current mark provided he's helped by first-time blinkers. |
KEEP ME STABLE arrives here on the back of a narrow C&D defeat 10 days ago and the five-year-old merits plenty of respect off the same mark. Reginald Charles is an obvious threat to the selection following his success at Southwell last time, although a 3lb rise is a concern. War Memorial is another who appears to have valid form claims.
REGINALD CHARLES made a winning start for Geoff Oldroyd at Southwell in January and remains nicely treated on old form. He can score again. War Memorial may give him most to think about.
Having made a winning start for his new stable, REGINALD CHARLES could well follow up. Keep Me Stable is feared most.

(5) 40/1(+39%) | (5) Time To Dazzle 40/1, Modest hurdles winner who readily surpassed previous efforts in this discipline (following a wind op) when runner-up over C&D in December. However, little to shout about in 3 subsequent starts and hopes pinned on the addition of cheekpieces sparking a return to form. Far from solid on chase form; needs help from the cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (2) ![]() Homme D'un Soir |
3/1(0%) | (2) Homme D'un Soir 3/1, Largely creditable efforts over hurdles/fences since joining this yard, making it 2-5 in this sphere with a narrow all-the-way success at Market Rasen (17.2f, good) recently. Nudged up just 2 lb and should make his presence felt. Made all for hurdle/chase wins at Market Rasen in two of last three outings. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) ![]() Demoiselle Kap |
SP(+100%) | (1) Demoiselle Kap SP, Thriving over hurdles/fences for her new yard, completing the 4-timer when taking a small-field handicap hurdle at Sedgefield (16.8f, good to soft) last week. 10 lb higher returned to this sphere but, with further progress entirely possible, she is still very much the one to beat. Record of 4-4 since joining new yard comprises two wins apiece over fences and hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) ![]() Famoso |
11/2(-10%) | (3) Famoso 11/2, Won 3 on the bounce in November/December, the final leg of which was a handicap over this C&D. Has found things tougher since but he's now just 1 lb above that C&D winning mark, so there is cause for optimism. Possibilities if back to the form of his C&D success (off 1lb lower) in December. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) ![]() Dexter |
14/1(+0%) | (4) Dexter 14/1, Multiple winner in France but yet to shine for present yard and absent since September 2023 (gelded in the meantime). 0-5 for current yard; absent for 18 months; market may prove helpful. |
The versatile DEMOISELLE KAP hasn't looked back since joining Jennie Candlish and is hard to ignore on the back of four consecutive successes over both hurdles and fences. Reverting to the larger obstacles shouldn't really be much of an issue, with her current rating of 119 fair given her resurgent form. Recent Market Rasen scorer Homme D'Un Soir is an obvious option for forecast players to consider. Dual C&D winner Famoso is a viable alternative running off a competitive mark.
DEMOISELLE KAP has sprouted wings since joining the Jennie Candlish yard and is taken to register her fifth win on the bounce. Recent Market Rasen scorer Homme d'Un Soir is preferred to Famoso for forecast purposes.
Thriving mare DEMOISELLE KAP could well defy her new mark and extend her winning sequence. Homme d'Un Soir is second pick.

![]() Largy Valley |
(10) 20/1(+39%) | (10) Largy Valley 20/1, Won Ayr bumper for Stuart Crawford in 2022 but has offered little for current yard since, pulling up in 19.5f course handicap last month. It remains to be seen whether a step up in trip helps. Given wind surgery before pulled up this winter in his only two handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (2) ![]() Five Quarters |
9/4(+59%) | (2) Five Quarters 9/4, Runner-up sole start in points and placed in maiden hurdles at Taunton and here (19.5f, soft) in recent months. Potential improver now making a quick switch to handicaps over a longer trip. Placed in maidens at Taunton and Chepstow; this step up in trip can help on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) ![]() Ri Na Cuirte |
11/2(+45%) | (7) Ri Na Cuirte 11/2, Well backed and much improved after 6 months off when narrowly landing a 3¼m Fontwell handicap hurdle in November. Matched that form with third in stronger race at Ascot (first 2 winners next time) 2 weeks later but 2 lesser runs have followed. The refitting of cheekpieces needs to spark a revival. Chase debut brought good form to an abrupt halt; tailed off when back hurdling 13 days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) ![]() Keppel Queen |
6/1(-140%) | (1) Keppel Queen 6/1, Still a maiden but runner-up in all 3 handicap hurdles, including C&D. Another bold show is on the cards. 2nd in all her three handicap hurdles, two under Benjamin Macey; firmly in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) ![]() Iron Heart |
33/1(-136%) | (4) Iron Heart 33/1, Four-time hurdle winner. Struggled over fences when last seen in the autumn but could fare better back hurdling if ready to roll after 134 days off. Won on good over hurdles last May/July; needs a second look on first run since November. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) ![]() Melton Mossy |
15/2(+0%) | (3) Melton Mossy 15/2, Gained a fourth win of a very productive first half of the season when striking under Eleanor Williams at Ludlow (21f, good to soft) in November. Placed on his next 2 starts but not so good the last twice. Bounce back needed. Four handicap wins last May-November; first backward steps for a while on last two starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) ![]() Fortunate Fella |
6/1(-50%) | (6) Fortunate Fella 6/1, Placed all 3 starts in Irish points. Little better than modest form in maiden/novice hurdles around 19f but he hails from a leading yard and could easily prove a different proposition now handicapping up in trip. Some ability and this handicap debut over a longer trip should offer more possibilities. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) ![]() Archie Macdart |
17/2(+66%) | (9) Archie Macdart 17/2, Modest maiden hurdler. Off 16 months, showed enough to suggest some ability remains when seventh of 10 in 19.5f course handicap 26 days ago. Up in trip. Entitled to come on for the run. 487 days off before showing some ability remains here (extended 2m3f; 80-1) latest start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) ![]() Camps Bay |
16/1(-113%) | (5) Camps Bay 16/1, Has shown ability on 2 of his 3 qualifying runs and rates a possible improver now handicapping in a first-time visor. Needs marked improvement on this handicap debut in first headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) ![]() Coal Fire |
9/1(+10%) | (8) Coal Fire 9/1, Twice a winner over hurdles for Peter Bowen in 2023 and showed enough to suggest he retains his ability in 2 chase outings for new trainer Robbie Llewellyn last month. Back on his last winning mark in this sphere. Interesting runner. Missed 2024 and ran over fences on both starts for new yard; good mark on peak hurdle form. |
Keppel Queen has been knocking on the door recently and she is one of the leading candidates. Preference, however, is for FIVE QUARTERS, who plugged on for third over the extended 2m3f here last month. The son of Shantou enters handicaps off a potentially workable mark and the step up in trip could be key. Coal Fire hasn't made much impact over fences but he's on a competitive mark reverting to hurdles.
KEPPEL QUEEN is taken to deservedly get her head in front with Benjamin Macey taking a handy 7 lb off her back. Fortunate Fella and Five Quarters appeal as potential improvers now handicapping over a longer trip and head the dangers. Coal Fire could also pose a threat if a return to hurdles helps him to recapture his best form.
Keppel Queen is probably the most solid option but handicap newcomer FIVE QUARTERS brings potential and may prove good enough.

Can feature. Got tired late when fifth at Leopardstown; closely matched with Early Bird, clear chance. |

Placed 2 of 3 starts in points, including latest (Nov 2024). Wears hood. Worth monitoring in the market. Placed form in points is nothing special but in good hands with a top rider booked. |

15/2(+46%) | (1) Alaskan View 15/2, 33/1, matched previous form after 6 months off when ninth of 18 in bumper at Thurles (15.6f, good to soft) 2 weeks ago. Unplaced twice but still entitled to respect on account of debut second at Tramore. |

6th (11) ![]() Cinnabar Moth |
4/1(+20%) | (11) Cinnabar Moth 4/1, €16,000 3-y-o, Poet's Word filly. Half-sister to 2 winners, including fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser Frere d'Armes. Dam unraced. Check betting. Half-sister to six-time winner Frere D'Armes, booking of Jody Townend is a positive.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) ![]() Phiddlesticks |
22/1(+45%) | (7) Phiddlesticks 22/1, Vendangeur mare. Half-sister to poor hurdler/chaser Watchoutitscookie. Dam, little impact over hurdles, sister to useful chaser who became ungenuine (stayed 3¾m) Straidnahanna. Pulled up both starts in points (latest Nov 2024). Pulled up on both starts in points, well-related dam showed little on the track.. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) ![]() Shake The Bag |
125/1(-89%) | (8) Shake The Bag 125/1, 100/1, tailed-off seventeenth of 18 in bumper at Thurles (15.6f, good to soft) on debut 2 weeks ago. 100-1, started slowly and never competitive on debut at Thurles two weeks ago. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) ![]() Watch Your Step |
22/1(+12%) | (10) Watch Your Step 22/1, €3,000 3-y-o, Kingston Hill mare. Dam, point winner, half-sister useful chaser who became ungenuine (stayed 25f) Loch Ba. Dam won a point, half-sister to bumper/hurdle winner Our Girl Salley and to a chase winner. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (3) ![]() Ginny Weasley |
150/1(+0%) | (3) Ginny Weasley 150/1, Tailed off in 4 bumpers. Triple-figure odds for all four bumper starts and has run accordingly, can be ruled out. |
TRICKSOFTHETRADE is one to take seriously on her racecourse debut for Emmet Mullins. This Order Of St George mare showed improvement in her second point-to-point to finish a close second at Quakerstown. She is sure to be well schooled for her track career. Early Bird and Jo's Secret are closely matched from a Leopardstown bumper where they came home fourth and fifth respectively. Considering Early Bird has gone off favourite in both bumpers she has contested, there may be much more to come from her for shrewd connections. Jody Townend is an eye-catching booking for Liz Doyle's newcomer Cinnabar Moth, who should be checked for market strength.
JO'S SECRET showed plenty on her Rules debut when fifth in a Leopardstown bumper earlier this month and with improvement on the cards, Tony Martin's 5-y-o can get the better of Early Bird, who was sent off favourite and finished a place ahead of the selection that day. Debutantes Tricksofthetrade and Cinnabar Moth both tick plenty of boxes on paper, so they can fight out minor honours.
Twice a beaten favourite, EARLY BIRD is worth another chance after a close-up fourth at Leopardstown

![]() Harappan |
(5) 12/1(-9%) | (5) Harappan 12/1, Lightly-raced winner. Last of 9 in handicap (7/1) at York (11.8f, soft) 18 months ago. Rejoined yard after leaving Iain Jardine with his fitness to prove. Record is 2-4; absent since September 2023 when something looked amiss; market useful. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (8) ![]() Midnight Lion |
15/2(-114%) | (8) Midnight Lion 15/2, 4-time C&D winner. Latest win here in January. Good third of 7 in handicap at this C&D (11/4) 19 days ago. Not taken lightly. Has form figures of 1114323, all at Newcastle, for current yard; solid claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) ![]() Lord Protector |
28/1(+0%) | (4) Lord Protector 28/1, Eleven runs since last win in 2023. Thirteenth of 17 in handicap (40/1) at York (10.2f, good to firm). Off 6 months. Difficult ask. 0-9 for current stable but is well treated on best form and this is a drop in grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) ![]() Beraz |
5/2(+29%) | (3) Beraz 5/2, Had wind op/off 11 weeks before an encouraging fifth of 7 in handicap at this C&D 19 days ago. A likely player off a falling mark. Finished behind two of these rivals on reappearance but may come on for that run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) ![]() Saturn Five |
7/1(+36%) | (7) Saturn Five 7/1, Lightly-raced winner. 10/1 and hooded for 1st time, below form seventh of 18 in handicap at York (11.8f, good to firm). Off 22 months. Makes tapeta debut. Has good chance on pick of form. Lightly raced 6yo who has been absent since spring 2023; check the betting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) ![]() Charlie's Choice |
11/2(-10%) | (6) Charlie's Choice 11/2, Three wins from 13 runs last year. Latest win at Wolverhampton in February. 15/2, good third of 8 in handicap at Southwell (11.1f) 6 days ago. Needs considering. Record of 5-20 on AW includes three wins this winter; ran creditably last week; in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) ![]() Asgard's Captain |
5/2(0%) | (1) Asgard's Captain 5/2, 3-time C&D winner, including in this 12 months ago. 7/1, good second of 7 in handicap at this C&D 19 days ago. Can give another good account. Good effort last time took his C&D record to 211142; won this race last year; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) ![]() Value Added |
125/1(-89%) | (9) Value Added 125/1, First run since leaving Jamie Snowden when last of 12 in handicap at Southwell (8.1f, 150/1) 26 days ago. Up in trip. Finished last at Southwell on stable/seasonal debut; best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (11) ![]() Elemental Eye |
18/1(+0%) | (11) Elemental Eye 18/1, Creditable sixth of 10 in handicap at this course (12.4f, 12/1) 33 days ago, not knocked about. One for the shortlist. Something to find on 2025 efforts and is the only maiden in this field. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) ![]() Cougar |
25/1(+50%) | (2) Cougar 25/1, 50/1 and visored for 1st time, last of 9 in handicap hurdle at Catterick (19.3f, good to soft) 38 days ago. Makes tapeta debut. First run for yard after leaving Ben Haslam with more needed. Hurdles form has deteriorated; revival needed back on Flat; new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) ![]() Simple Star |
66/1(-32%) | (10) Simple Star 66/1, Last of 8 in handicap (5/2) at Musselburgh (18.1f, good), slowly away. Off 6 months. Significantly down in trip. Others more persuasive. Lacks recent match practice and this his first AW run for three years; others preferred. |
ASGARD'S CAPTAIN was only denied by a nose when second over C&D a few weeks ago and Dylan Cunha's gelding sets the standard on that evidence, despite a 2lb rise. Midnight Lion was third on that occasion and could chase the selection home once again, while Charlie's Choice edges out Elemental Eye and Lord Protector to be the pick of the remainder.
A few with chances but BERAZ caught the eye on the back of breathing surgery when a recent C&D fifth and edges the vote from mulitple C&D scorer Midnight Lion. Saturn Five resumes from a lay-off on a lenient mark and also needs factoring in along with last year's winner Asgard's Captain.
There's a strong case to be made for last year's winner ASGARD'S CAPTAIN, who is first choice ahead of Midnight Lion.

![]() Miladygrace |
(5) 28/1(+58%) | (5) Miladygrace 28/1, It's been over 2 years since she last got her head in front and was put firmly in her place at Taunton last time. Ordinary mare who faces another stiff task on the figures. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (1) ![]() Captain Tommy |
11/4(+0%) | (1) Captain Tommy 11/4, Has won twice round here, including this race in 12 months ago, and warmed up for a repeat bid with a narrow verdict at Catterick (25.2f, good to firm) recently. Likely to emerge as the main danger to Frere d'Armes. Record of 2-2 in hunter chases at Ludlow includes a win in this race last year; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) ![]() Walkin Out |
4/1(+0%) | (6) Walkin Out 4/1, No show in a couple of hunters last season but she has since gone on a winning spree between the flags, recording her fifth win on the bounce back from a break last month. Couldn't rule out. On a roll, having won last five points (8-12 in that sphere overall); interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) ![]() Frere D'armes |
10/11(+9%) | (2) Frere D'armes 10/11, Disappointed on hunter debut at Taunton in January but put that behind him when landing a small-field C&D contest last month. Clear of the rest when finding one too strong at Fakenham (24.2f, good) next time and he will take plenty of stopping. Fairly useful form last month, winning at Ludlow then second at Fakenham; top on ratings. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) ![]() The Creadan Rogue |
100/1(-300%) | (4) The Creadan Rogue 100/1, Six-time winner between the flags but he has yet to make an impact following half-a-dozen runs under Rules. Six-time point winner; holds weak claims on rules form, as ratings reflect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) ![]() Solomon Grey |
12/1(+14%) | (3) Solomon Grey 12/1, Back-to-back hunter winner in April 2022 but hasn't tasted success since and this 13-y-o is opposable following 9 months off the track. Has declined with age and losing spell goes back to 2022; absent since last May. |
The winner of a similar race over 3m here on his penultimate start, FRERE D'ARMES looks the most obvious starting point given his course experience and proven ability to be effective back over this sort of trip. Last year's winner Captain Tommy is respected in his bid for a repeat after a hard-fought victory over 3m1f at Catterick. Prolific point-to-pointer Walkin Out and The Creadan Rogue also add depth to a decent contest.
This drop back in trip looks a good move where FRERE D'ARMES is concerned and he will prove a tough nut to crack. Captain Tommy bagged this race last year and is an obvious threat having returned to form when adding to his tally at Catterick, while Walkin Out arrives here on the back of five consecutive victories between the flags and she also enters calculations.
Having shown that he's capable of beating higher-rated rivals, last year's winner CAPTAIN TOMMY gets the vote over Frere d'Armes.

![]() El Arco |
(7) 33/1(+18%) | (7) El Arco 33/1, Pillar Coral gelding. Dam, 10.5f winner in France, sister to fairly useful hurdler/chaser (stayed 3m) Saint Arvans. Best watched on debut unless the betting suggests otherwise. Third foal; dam French 10.5f winner; stable not noted for having bumper winners. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (1) ![]() Hurricane Pat |
8/11(+34%) | (1) Hurricane Pat 8/11, Runner-up in a pair of Irish points last spring and looked a good prospect when landing a good-ground Sandown bumper in November. Much softer ground just seemed to stretch him when third there last month and big player back on a sounder surface. Ran well under a penalty at Sandown (heavy) and his form sets the standard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) ![]() Three Pikes |
15/2(-67%) | (5) Three Pikes 15/2, Jack Hobbs gelding who showed a fair level of ability when fifth of 12 on Huntingdon debut in January, staying on as the penny dropped. May do better. Close up at Huntingdon behind a previous winner and should have more to offer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) ![]() Crossgales King |
17/2(-13%) | (3) Crossgales King 17/2, Cost £85,000 after finishing runner-up on both completed starts in Irish points. Interesting runner. Finished runner-up in two Irish points and changed hands for £85,000. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) ![]() Money To Burn |
12/1(+70%) | (4) Money To Burn 12/1, Promise on debut for Shark Hanlon in July 2023 but not seen again until well held at Huntingdon in January (for Clare Ellam). Fitted with a hood this time and can only watch after another stable change. Unruly before finishing tailed off at Huntingdon; new trainer fits a hood. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) ![]() Robin Blue Breast |
80/1(-60%) | (6) Robin Blue Breast 80/1, €3,000 Blue Bresil mare. Dam bumper winner who is a half-sister to a couple of useful sorts. Yard 0-6 in bumpers in the last 5 seasons. It's almost certainly best to look elsewhere. 3,000euros 3yo; first foal out of a bumper winner; stable 0-6 in bumpers recent seasons. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) ![]() Calvino |
4/1(-14%) | (2) Calvino 4/1, €130,000 Walk In The Park gelding who offered something to work on when fourth of 6 on his Ascot debut in November. Given a bit of time since and rates a potential improver for a top stable in a good vein of form. They went very steady at Ascot and he got outpaced; still ran a promising race. |
CALVINO was perhaps a little disappointing at Ascot on his racecourse bow in November, but he's been off the track since and progress looks likely, especially given the stable's current form. Hurricane Pat wasn't disgraced under a penalty at Sandown latest and he should mount another stern challenge, while Three Pikes, who shaped with promise on his first start, appeals most of the remainder.
HURRICANE PAT looked good under the sort of ground conditions he's likely to face here when scoring at Sandown back in November and can land a second bumper win. The Paul Nicholls-trained Calvino can give him most to do unless the betting vibes are strong surrounding Irish point recruit Crossgales King.
Hurricane Pat will be hard to beat but CALVINO is bred to win races and could easily leave his Ascot form behind.

4/1(-33%) | (3) Diamont Katie 4/1, Promising type who proved more professional with debut run under her belt when a cosy winner from the front in 7-runner novice at Chelmsford City (6f, 7/4) 49 days ago. Appeals as the type to progress further switched to handicaps. Won fillies' novice at Chelmsford in January; open to improvement for handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) ![]() Tolerance |
3/1(+45%) | (4) Tolerance 3/1, Promise in trio of novice events (notably sole AW run) during first half of last year. Absent since finishing down the field in Windsor nursery (6f) 8 months ago but undergone wind surgery/fitted with a tongue strap and likely he still has more to offer. Best effort came at Lingfield last June; off since following month but has had wind op. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) ![]() Laurens Dream |
11/1(-29%) | (6) Laurens Dream 11/1, C&D winner. Latest win here in November. 6/1, seventh of 10 in nursery at this C&D 82 days ago, keeping on when denied a run final 1f. Each-way possibilities back from a break. Dual course winner but below best last time (met trouble); more needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) ![]() Tarlac |
5/1(+69%) | (5) Tarlac 5/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 14/1, first run since leaving Kevin Ryan when eighth of 10 in handicap at Southwell (6.1f) 19 days ago, running green but plugging on. Entitled to be sharper for that but this sort of test may well be on the sharp side again. Has shown ability but needs to raise game if he's to win this. |
The in-form Frankies Dream merits plenty of respect following his short-head defeat over 5f here last week. That said, marginal preference is for DIAMONT KATIE, who got off the mark over 6f at Chelmsford in January and an opening mark of 70 may underestimate Karl Burke's unexposed filly. Cases can be made for most of the remainder, but Platinum Crystal is arguably the pick of them.
Having bagged a fourth success since the turn of the year over C&D on his penultimate start, FRANKIES DREAM again ran well when just denied over the minimum trip back here 7 days ago. The return to 6f will suit and he's a big player again under a penalty. Chelmsford scorer Diamont Katie and the returning Tolerance are a couple expected to do better still and also command a second look.
Tolerance is likely better than he's shown but preference is for the solid claims of FRANKIE'S DREAM, who is 2lb ahead of his mark.

1st (2) ![]() Commanding Prince |
1/8(+75%) | (2) Commanding Prince 1/8, Has plenty to recommend him on paper and duly built on debut promise when taking 5-runner novice at this course (1m, 6/1) 10 days ago, well on top finish. Very much the type to progress further and lots to like back down in trip. Much-improved form to win over 1m here last time; claims, despite penalty and drop in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) ![]() Toralou |
11/1(-100%) | (6) Toralou 11/1, Showed plenty of ability when runner-up in a Haydock novice (6f) only start as a 2-y-o. However, missed 2024 and shaped as if better for the run after 18 months off when last of 4 in novice at Wolverhampton (6.1f, evens) 61 days ago. This should reveal more. Disappointing after long absence on AW debut in January; plenty to prove for now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) ![]() Sogannie |
25/1(+24%) | (5) Sogannie 25/1, Sogann filly. Half-sister to several winners, including 6f-7f winner Bobby Joe Leg and 2-y-o 7f winner Mostashreqah. Dam 6f winner. Likely she'll be better for this initial experience. Half-sister to Newcastle specialist Bobby Joe Leg but yard not noted for debut winners. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) ![]() Woodrafff |
150/1(+0%) | (4) Woodrafff 150/1, Eqtidaar gelding who offered little in pair of course novice events last month. Low-grade handicaps will be more suitable after this. Low-grade form so far and makes no appeal on these terms. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) ![]() Environment |
15/2(+63%) | (3) Environment 15/2, €22,000 yearling, Zoffany gelding. Brother to 7f winner Zampo and half-brother to 7f-9f winner Lady McQueen. Dam, winner up to 1m (2-y-o 7f winner), half-sister to useful 2-y-o 6f winner Secret Angel. Related to a couple of winners in Spain; market should be best guide to prospects on debut. |
COMMANDING PRINCE took a pleasing step forward from his debut second to beat a previous winner in good style over a mile here last time and this drop in distance shouldn't pose him any problems. Archie Watson's four-year-old showed a gutsy attitude on that occasion and can defy his 7lb penalty. Believe The Storm made a good impression when going in on his racecourse bow at Wolverhampton in December and has to be considered. Any market confidence behind newcomer Environment would be interesting.
COMMANDING PRINCE confirmed debut promise when running out a good winner of a 1m novice here 10 days ago and Archie Watson's well-bred 4-y-o can handle the drop in trip and follow up. Debut scorer Believe The Storm is next best, whilst it will be interesting to see how Toralou fares with her belated reappearance effort behind her.
This can go the way of COMMANDING PRINCE, who created a decent impression over 1m here last time and can follow up

1st (5) ![]() Paddy's Day |
7/2(+30%) | (5) Paddy's Day 7/2, 4-time C&D winner. 8/1, career best when winning 10-runner handicap at this C&D 28 days ago. Ought to be in the shake-up again. Has won last three starts over C&D and, although up in weights/grade, is a player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) ![]() Ventura Express |
14/1(+0%) | (6) Ventura Express 14/1, Off since posting a good third of 14 in handicap at this C&D 149 days ago. Has won when fresh though so he's expected to be bang there off a handy-looking mark. Ran well over C&D in October; off since but, although goes well fresh, needs to raise game. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) ![]() Fahrenheit Seven |
7/1(+0%) | (9) Fahrenheit Seven 7/1, Three wins from 8 runs last year. Career best when winning 8-runner handicap (7/2) at this course (6f) 118 days ago. Up 3 lb but he's one for the shortlist. Off since November and up in weights/grade but was on the up in sprints when last seen. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) ![]() Miss Attitude |
3/1(+10%) | (2) Miss Attitude 3/1, Tongue strap on for 1st time, career best when winning 7-runner handicap at Southwell (5f, 5/1) 16 days ago. Merits serious consideration despite a 3 lb rise. Best effort to win on AW debut at Southwell last time; player from 3lb higher mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) ![]() Prince Of Pillo |
8/1(+33%) | (3) Prince Of Pillo 8/1, Latest win at Lingfield in February. 10/1, last of 9 in handicap at Lingfield (6f, AW) 20 days ago so needs to bounce back. Back to winning ways after lay off last month but below that last time; more needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) ![]() Mondammej |
9/1(+55%) | (8) Mondammej 9/1, 3-time C&D winner. Latest win here in January. No disgraced when last of 4 in handicap at this course (6f) 7 days ago. In the mix. Already a four-time winner this winter but patchy form since last win; more needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) ![]() Bergerac |
7/2(+13%) | (4) Bergerac 7/2, C&D winner. 15/8, respectable fifth of 10 in handicap at this C&D. Off 118 days. Cheekpieces back on. Can give a good account. Was in decent heart in autumn but off since and may find one or two too strong. |
Paddy's Day is bidding to make it four-in-a-row over track and trip and judged on his most recent success, he boasts every chance off a 3lb higher rating. However, the vote goes to BUZZ BOX, who beat a subsequent winner by just over a length over C&D earlier in the month and looks ready for this step up in grade. Bryan Smart's four-year-old could have more scope for improvement than most of his rivals and might prove tough to beat. Last-time-out Southwell scorer Miss Attitude is another to consider.
A competitive sprint but BUZZ BOX arrives on an upward curve so is fancied to defy a career-high mark and complete his hat-trick at the chief expense of the handily-weighted Ventura Express who has won when fresh. Multiple C&D victor Paddy's Day and recent Southwell scorer Miss Attitude can both have a say too.
A few of these can be given a chance but it may be worth siding with BUZZ BOX, who is up in the weights/grade but can do better.

![]() Orchestral Wave |
(5) 80/1(-60%) | (5) Orchestral Wave 80/1, Well beaten in 2 Southwell handicaps for new stable in recent weeks, finishing well behind Antiquity latterly. Could only consider if the betting suggests a lot better is expected now. Promise at an ordinary level in maiden/novice events but well beaten in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (3) ![]() Antiquity |
9/5(+28%) | (3) Antiquity 9/5, Winner at Lingfield in January. Good runner-up efforts over 1m at Southwell on last 2 outings. Likely to be in the thick of things again. Steadily progressive over this trip and should give another good account. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) ![]() Hock Eye The Noo |
9/2(-29%) | (4) Hock Eye The Noo 9/2, Career best when winning 6-runner handicap (11/2) at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 9 days ago, helped by being able to control things from the front. Should be very competitive under the penalty. First win when beating two previous winners at Wolverhampton last week; claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) ![]() Stay Around |
11/2(+61%) | (7) Stay Around 11/2, Modest form. 8/1, tenth of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 24 days ago, left poorly placed. Early days but will need improvement. Below best on handicap debut last time but there were mitigating factors; can't rule out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) ![]() Mayor Of Maghera |
12/1(+0%) | (2) Mayor Of Maghera 12/1, Sixth of 8 in handicap (10/1) at Southwell (1m) 16 days ago, unable to sustain effort. First-time blinkers need to give him a bit extra. Yet to match form of Musselburgh win last summer; well beaten last time and blinkers go on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) ![]() Salaria |
7/1(+13%) | (6) Salaria 7/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Improved second of 9 on 1¼m course handicap debut 48 days ago. Back down in trip. Back down in trip. Has to enter calculations. Ran well over 1m2f on handicap debut; 3lb higher and back in trip but has a chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) ![]() Manton Road |
6/1(-71%) | (1) Manton Road 6/1, Pair of 7f wins in recent weeks, the latter here. Respectable 3¼ lengths third of 6 to reopposing Hock Eye The Noo at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 9 days ago, not helping his cause by hanging left. Four-time winner this year but not seen to best effect in muddling event last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) ![]() Harry Palmer |
10/1(-25%) | (8) Harry Palmer 10/1, Modest maiden. Creditable 5¾ lengths third of 10 to Manton Road in handicap at this course (7f, 16/5) on reappearance 16 days ago. Cheekpieces are added now. Respectable effort over 7f here last time; should be suited by 1m and gets cheekpieces. |
Hock Eye The Noo had Manton Road (third) behind when she benefitted from a canny ride by Callum Shepherd to score after setting slow fractions from the front. The daughter of Bow Creek might find it tough to defy her 6lb penalty for that success and, with that in mind, ANTIQUITY gets the nod. Jamie Osborne's three-year-old has occupied the runner-up berth in each of his last two starts over a mile at Southwell and could go one better today. Salaria completes the shortlist.
ANTIQUITY has been knocking on the door at Southwell recently and is taken to prove too strong for last week's Wolverhampton 1-3 Hock Eye The Noo and Manton Road.
A few to consider but the suggestion is HARRY PALMER, who ran respectably over 7f last time. 1m should suit and he now tries headgear.

1st (5) ![]() Korroor |
5/4(+29%) | (5) Korroor 5/4, Modest gelding. Course winner. Cheekpieces on for 1st time, third of 11 in handicap at this C&D (10/1) 14 days ago. Visor on 1st time and he looks sure to be involved in the finish. Back to form over C&D last time, yard going well and interesting in first-time visor. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) ![]() Mumcat |
11/2(+31%) | (7) Mumcat 11/2, Modest mare. C&D winner. 28/1, seventh of 10 in minor event at Southwell (6.1f) 34 days ago. Every chance if back to best. Form uneven since winning at Wolverhampton nearly a year ago but claims if back to best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) ![]() Bernie The Bear |
8/1(-60%) | (2) Bernie The Bear 8/1, Modest gelding. C&D winner. Twenty-five runs since last win in 2023. 10/3, ninth of 11 in minor event at this course (5f) 10 days ago. Cheekpieces back on and claims if he puts his best foot forward. Below best in classified events on three of last four starts; losing run is mounting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) ![]() My Boy Jack |
9/1(-20%) | (8) My Boy Jack 9/1, Modest gelding. Three wins from 64 Flat runs. Nineteen runs since last win in 2024. Creditable fifth of 9 in minor event (12/1) at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 9 days ago. Opposable from a win point of view. Infrequent winner who hasn't been at best of late; easy enough to take on again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) ![]() Blackcurrent |
5/1(-43%) | (3) Blackcurrent 5/1, Modest gelding. 6-time course winner. 10/1, seventh of 9 in handicap at this C&D 10 days ago, going off too hard. Cheekpieces back on. Place possibilities. Disappointing last time and not won for a while but good chance on pick of 2025 form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) ![]() Max Stripes |
25/1(+38%) | (6) Max Stripes 25/1, Poor gelding. Seventh of 9 in handicap at Southwell (7.1f, 66/1) 19 days ago. Has work to do. Regressive maiden; may have needed the run last time but good deal more required. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) ![]() Glory Call |
17/2(-6%) | (4) Glory Call 17/2, Poor gelding. Last of 9 in handicap (9/1) at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 31 days ago, left poorly placed. Looks set for another struggle. Likes Wolverhampton but ran respectably here last month; wide draw no help last time. |
KORROOR returned to form when finishing a close-up third in a C&D handicap a fortnight ago. With a visor applied for the first time and eased into classified level, Julie Camacho's gelding ought to go close. Blackcurrent has six course wins (two over track and trip) on his CV and is another that is weighted to go well, while Max Stripes, who drops to 6f for the first time since October, is also noted.
KORROOR took a step back in the right direction equipped with first-time cheekpieces when third over C&D a fortnight ago and, if the change of headgear again has a positive effect (visored this time), he could be the answer. Mumcat needs to bounce back but she will be a serious player off this reduced mark if able to do so, while both Bernie The Bear and Blackcurrent are likely to be on the premises.
The one who stands out is KORROOR (nap), who shaped well over C&D last time. His yard is in fine form and he now gets a visor.

1st (2) ![]() Doon The Glen |
3/1(+14%) | (2) Doon The Glen 3/1, Modest gelding. Remains a maiden after 24 Flat runs. Creditable fourth of 11 in handicap at this C&D (17/2) 14 days ago. Each-way shout. Yet to win but running respectably of late in handicaps and claims back in this grade. |

2nd (1) ![]() Arlington |
5/2(+29%) | (1) Arlington 5/2, Modest gelding. C&D winner. 4/1, seventh of 11 in handicap at this C&D 14 days ago. Live each-way cjudged on his good effort here on penultimate start. Dual C&D winner last year; below best last time but claims on form of previous C&D run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) ![]() She'sashambles |
11/4(-22%) | (8) She'sashambles 11/4, Modest filly. One win from 21 Flat runs. 10/1, respectable sixth of 11 in handicap at this C&D 14 days ago, never nearer. Obvious chance on these terms. Classified turf winner in August but hasn't added to tally since; decent chance at weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) ![]() Sadiiki |
11/1(+31%) | (6) Sadiiki 11/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 100/1 and hooded for 1st time, fourth of 9 in minor event at this C&D 21 days ago, slowly away. Big step forward required. First sign of ability on AW debut after a break last time and may be able to raise game. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) ![]() Secret Daay |
25/1(+24%) | (7) Secret Daay 25/1, Poor gelding. Remains a maiden after 32 Flat runs. 33/1, sixth of 7 in minor event at this course (7.1f) 13 days ago. Easy to look elsewhere. Longstanding maiden who has a tough task at the weights; opposable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) ![]() Rockley Point |
14/1(-87%) | (5) Rockley Point 14/1, Modest gelding. 4-time course winner. Forty runs since last win in 2023. 13/2, last of 11 in minor event at this course (5f) 10 days ago. Not without each-way hope. Has had a stack of chances since last win; form uneven of late but claims if mood takes. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) ![]() Magic Fluke |
11/2(+0%) | (4) Magic Fluke 11/2, Poor gelding. C&D winner. Fourteen runs since last win in 2023. Creditable fifth of 9 in minor event at Southwell (6.1f, 5/1) 41 days ago. Every chance if back to best. Not disgraced in classified events of late but will have to raise game if he's to win this. |
The draw has been kind to ARLINGTON, who finished behind Doon The Glen (fourth) and She'sashambles (sixth) in a handicap over track and trip recently. Bryan Smart's charge doesn't have much ground to make up with the pair, though, and on these terms he looks more than capable of reversing the form. Sadiiki shaped with promise on her return from a 163-day absence three weeks ago, and further progress would bring her into the reckoning.
SHE'SASHAMBLES wasn't beaten far in a C&D handicap a fortnight ago and she has a clear chance at the weights now eased in grade. The Phillip Makin-trained filly is taken to strike, perhaps at the chief expense of Arlington, while each-way cases can be made for both Doon The Glen and Rockley Point.
A tricky finale can go to ARLINGTON, who wasn't at his best last time but he's a dual C&D winner with a good chance at the weights
Ths is the racecard key.

This is the 16:15 Kempton race from the video above backed at 28/1 earlier in the day.
Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
