![]() East India Dock |
(3) 5/4(+38%) | (3) East India Dock 5/4, Useful staying handicapper on the Flat for James Fanshawe. Has looked a fine prospect over hurdles, totally dominant when going 3-3 in Triumph Hurdle Trial over C&D in January. A fluent jumper and he'll take plenty of stopping. 3-3 hurdling, with wide-margin wins in Grade 2 races here on last two; sets good standard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Lulamba |
(7) 11/4(-10%) | (7) Lulamba 11/4, Looked a fine prospect when a debut scorer at Auteuil and again for his new connections when impressively landing Ascot juvenile in January. A major player with promise of lots more to come. Won at Auteuil; major reputation preceded his highly promising win at Ascot on yard debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Hello Neighbour |
(5) 7/2(+30%) | (5) Hello Neighbour 7/2, Has taken extremely well to hurdling, landing Leopardstown Grade 2 on his debut before following up there (hooded) in Spring Juvenile Hurdle by ¾ length from Galileo Dame. This useful Flat winner has more to offer and is well in the mix. Unbeaten on Flat and in two Graded races as hurdler; travelled much the best in Gr1 latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Blue Lemons |
(1) 12/1(+64%) | (1) Blue Lemons 12/1, Useful 7f/1m performer on Flat for Richard Hannon and looked a good prospect for his new handler when ready winner of juvenile hurdle at Gowran Park last month. Has lots of potential so shouldn't be underestimated. Useful on Flat and asserted in clearcut style on hurdle debut at Gowran Park (2m, soft). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Lady Vega Allen |
(14) 14/1(-17%) | (14) Lady Vega Allen 14/1, Debut hurdle winner in France and has shown very useful form for his new yard when twice placed, beaten 1½ lengths by Hello Neighbour in Spring Juvenile Hurdle at Leopardstown (16f) on latter occasion. One of 11 for his trainer and not taken lightly with Paul Townend up. Seemingly the pick of the Mullins multitude and a greater stamina test here should suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Gibbs Island |
(4) 28/1(-56%) | (4) Gibbs Island 28/1, Fairly useful Flat winner for Andrew Oliver in Ireland and he has looked a smart prospect when bagging maiden hurdle at Sedgefield and juvenile at Haydock for his new handler. Free-going sort can do better still. Possibilities. Fairly useful on Flat; scored at Sedgefield and Haydock (impressive) over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Larzac |
(6) 33/1(+0%) | (6) Larzac 33/1, 3/1 and tongue tied, made a highly promising start when a short-head second of 17 in newcomers hurdle at Auteuil in October. This son of No Risk At All has since joined top connections and rates an interesting prospect. Favourite at Auteuil (2m2f, heavy) in October and looked in charge until final strides. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Mondo Man |
(9) 33/1(+0%) | (9) Mondo Man 33/1, Smart on the Flat in France (fifth in the Prix du Jockey Club) and picked up for €520,000 in October. Shaped very well when runner-up to Lulamba on hurdles debut at Ascot before an excellent third of 5 in Adonis at Kempton. Has more to offer. Enters calculations. Flat class; needs to settle; stronger pace in this should assist, as might the new hood. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Willy De Houelle |
(13) 40/1(-21%) | (13) Willy De Houelle 40/1, A very useful winning hurdler in France but yet to kick on for his current yard, despite posting a solid fourth to Hello Neighbour in Spring Juvenile Hurdle at Leopardstown last time. No forlorn hope. Two supporting roles when hooded in Graded races won by Hello Neighbour; ran on last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Sainte Lucie |
(18) 50/1(-100%) | (18) Sainte Lucie 50/1, French recruit who made a highly impressive winning stable debut in Punchestown juvenile in December. Went as if amiss when last of 8 to Hello Neighbour in Spring Juvenile Hurdle at Leopardstown since and well worth another chance. Impressive Irish debut; flopped when favourite for Grade 1 latest and a hood is enlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Too Bossy For Us |
(12) 50/1(+0%) | (12) Too Bossy For Us 50/1, A useful 10f scorer on Flat (stays 1¾m) this summer for Kevin Philippart de Foy. Changed hands for 330,000 gns in the autumn and he's another newcomer for top yard that can't be discounted now going hurdling. Useful at 1m6f on Flat; sold for 330,000gns in October and gelded; makes hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Charlus |
(2) 66/1(-100%) | (2) Charlus 66/1, Won 3 of his 4 starts on the Flat in France and made a winning debut over hurdles for his new yard after 8 months off in 16-runner juvenile at Naas in January. Potentially a very useful recruit. Considered. Useful on Flat; scored at Naas on hurdling debut but form leaves him with plenty to find. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Poniros |
(11) 100/1(-100%) | (11) Poniros 100/1, A useful handicapper on Flat (stays 1½m) for Ralph Beckett this summer. Changed hands for 200,000 gns in October and he brings a lot of potential to this sphere. No forlorn hope for top connections. Useful Flat form at up to 1m4f; 200,000gns buy in October; unraced over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Place De La Nation |
(17) 100/1(-100%) | (17) Place De La Nation 100/1, Fairly useful form shown when placed over hurdles at Auteuil in September and Fairyhouse nearly 5 months later. Can do better still but he needs to in this company. 2nd to stablemate last time; should improve but that doesn't make her a Triumph principal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Opec |
(16) 150/1(+0%) | (16) Opec 150/1, Has left her Flat form behind since switched to hurdles, winning first 3 completed starts in this sphere, including a fillies' listed race at Newbury in November. Well-beaten last of 5 in Adonis Juvenile Hurdle at Kempton last time though so needs to bounce back. Won fillies' Listed event at Newbury (2m, soft); major backward steps in Grade 2s since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Pappano |
(10) 150/1(-275%) | (10) Pappano 150/1, A useful 14f Flat scorer who signed off for John & Thady Gosden with a very good third in listed race at Ascot in October. This is a tough introduction but he brings lots of potential to this sphere for his top yard. Useful form twice at 1m6f in September/October; 200,000gns buy in October; hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Marche D'aligre |
(8) 150/1(-88%) | (8) Marche D'aligre 150/1, Fairly useful Flat winner in France and struck at the first time of asking over hurdles in 2m Wetherby juvenile in November. Pitched into a Grade 2 and ran a cracker when second at Chepstow a month later but well beaten at Haydock since. More needed. Won easily on hurdle debut; 2nd in Grade 2 at Chepstow but disappointing at Haydock latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Lumiere Du Large |
(15) 200/1(-300%) | (15) Lumiere Du Large 200/1, Made a winning debut in 13f minor event on Flat in October before posting a useful effort on his hurdling bow when second in newcomers race at Pau (17f) in December. Not without interest on his debut for top yard. Won a French bumper in October; second of eight in maiden hurdle at Pau in December. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
Willie Mullins has dominated this race in recent years and the master of Closutton saddles a whopping 11 runners, although he doesn't appear to have a standout candidate, with Lady Vega Allen possibly his best chance. She has twice been beaten by Hello Neighbour, including at the Dublin Racing Festival, and could struggle to reverse form with Gavin Cromwell's gelding, while French import Larzac is interesting but you would like to see more market support behind him. The home team perhaps have a stronger hand, with EAST INDIA DOCK looking the most solid option. A smart operator on the Flat for James Fanshawe, the son of Golden Horn hasn't looked back since being switched to timber, clocking up three wins and improving with each start. He has won on both the New and Old Courses here, seemingly goes on any ground, and is a straightforward ride. His main danger could be Lulamba, who arrived from France with a big reputation and made light work of beating Mondo Man at Ascot. Tom Lacey's unbeaten hurdler Gibbs Island could go well at longer odds.
James Owen continues on the rise in the training ranks and his likeable front-runner EAST INDIA DOCK can showcase his undoubted talents further by gaining his biggest prize yet and extending his unbeaten run to four. Nicky Henderson has an excellent record in this and his unexposed French recruit Lulamba could emerge as the biggest danger. although Irish-challengers Hello Neighbour and Lady Vega Allen both bring very solid form to the table and can also have a say in a fascinating Triumph.
Preference is for the major Cheltenham achievements of EAST INDIA DOCK over the high promise of Lulamba.

![]() Dinofromberlais |
(1) 11/5(+60%) | (1) Dinofromberlais 11/5, Encouraging fourth of 8 in novice hurdle at Southwell (15.8f, good, 11/2) on hurdles bow in November. Looked tricky even before crashing out at Huntingdon subsequently but still needs considering in a weak affair. In front when unseating at Huntingdon latest; player on previous Southwell fourth.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Zafaan |
(6) 10/3(-67%) | (6) Zafaan 10/3, Modest handicapper on Flat (stays 1m) who very much exceeded expectations when third of 13 on his Southwell hurdles debut (15.8f). Not quite in same form when filling same spot here on New Year's Day but still sets the standard. Narrow pick on hurdling RPRs, but does need to settle and jump better to progress.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Organic |
(8) 4/1(+11%) | (8) Organic 4/1, A 3-time winner on Flat at up to 1¼m for George Boughey in 2024. Changed hands for 32,000 gns and showed aptitude for hurdling before conditions possibly found her out on her Taunton hurdle debut. Showed a bit more back there last time and could improve further now faced with less testing ground. Replication of form of Taunton fifth latest won't suffice; likely drier ground may help.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Crown Of India |
(7) 9/2(+18%) | (7) Crown Of India 9/2, A fairly useful maiden on the Flat who showed more than first time up over hurdles when fourth of 8 at Market Rasen in February. Not in same form when filling same spot at Huntingdon, however. No stamina issues; could have lots more to offer over hurdles if only settling better.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Mount Olympus |
(4) 6/1(+8%) | (4) Mount Olympus 6/1, Fair handicapper on Flat who wasn't seen to best effect last time. Showed a bit more than first time up over hurdles when eighth of 15 at Ludlow in February and may do better again. 1m3f-1m6f Flat winner, but hasn't seen out a sharp 2m on either previous hurdling start.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Linden Lane |
(3) 14/1(+13%) | (3) Linden Lane 14/1, €9,500 3-y-o, Linda's Lad gelding. Dam unraced. Failed to complete all 4 starts in Irish points, fell latest (Jan 18). Market for clues on Rules debut. Non-finisher in all four Irish points (3m); very different challenge on British debut.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Global Resolve |
(2) 80/1(-60%) | (2) Global Resolve 80/1, Modest maiden handicapper on Flat (stays 1¼m), raced too freely last time. Likely outsider on hurdle debut. 0-9 and exposed as moderate on the Flat; loses visor ahead of this hurdling debut.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
ZAFAAN sets the standard with an official rating on 106 and two solid third-placed efforts, the latest coming over C&D, and he appears to have been found a great opportunity to open his account. Dinofromberlais unseated his rider early on at Huntingdon, but previously shaped encouragingly on his hurdling bow at Southwell. He rates the biggest threat ahead of Crown Of India, who has a chance on his Market Rasen effort.
ORGANIC has made a low-key start to her hurdling career, but it's worth remembering she was fairly useful on the Flat and could well prove a different proposition now faced with less testing ground for the first time in this sphere. Zafaan and Dinofromberlais rate the principal threats.
He may need further, but an assertive ride from the front may suffice for DINOFROMBERLAIS, barring mishap. Zafaan is next best.

![]() Polkaface |
(6) SP(+100%) | (6) Polkaface SP, Little to shout about in 3 bumpers runs but her pedigree suggests she could do better now switched to hurdling. Fair form in bumpers; half-sister to three hurdle winners; may improve now going jumping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Irish Chorus |
(3) SP(+100%) | (3) Irish Chorus SP, Promise in her qualifying runs over hurdles, not ideally placed after 6 months off when third in maiden at Uttoxeter (15.8f, good to soft) in November. Didn't see things out upped in trip on her completed start since, but obvious player back in maiden company returned to 2m. Second over 2m at Warwick in May; below par over 2m4f latest; conditions will suit; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Keep On Cobbling |
(4) SP(+100%) | (4) Keep On Cobbling SP, Unplaced in a couple of bumpers in 2024 and was beaten when falling at the last on recent Market Rasen hurdling debut. Bumper fourth on debut but well held when falling at the last on first hurdles run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() The Pit Popsy |
(7) SP(+100%) | (7) The Pit Popsy SP, Tailed off in 2 bumpers. Well beaten in two bumpers in 2023; watching brief advised on hurdles debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Generous Scorpion |
(2) SP(+100%) | (2) Generous Scorpion SP, Maiden pointer who showed a bit when fourth of 9 in novice hurdle at Sedgefield (19.8f, soft, 16/1) on debut 47 days ago, carrying head awkwardly from 2 out and unable to sustain effort. 3,000euros buy after two places in Irish points; fair hurdles debut (2m4f); 2m a concern. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Annie Don |
(1) SP(+100%) | (1) Annie Don SP, Placed in Irish points but well held in bumper/pair of novice hurdles. Has had a breathing operation since last seen. Second in an Irish point; ordinary form in a bumper and two hurdles; back after wind op. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Plus Point |
(5) SP(+100%) | (5) Plus Point SP, Fairly useful handicapper on Flat for Harry Eustace (stays 2m), successful once in 2024, good second last time. Notable hurdling debutant in the context of this race. Three-time Flat winner for Harry Eustace; cost 40,000gns; interesting on hurdles debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Our Lil |
(8) SP(+100%) | (8) Our Lil SP, Fair maiden on Flat (stays 1½m). Stepped up on hurdling debut form when third in 8-runner juvenile at Kempton (2m) in November. Good claims. Has had a breathing operation. Ex-Irish; fair form on the Flat and over jumps; had wind surgery since last run; chance. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
OUR LIL has shown promise on both starts since switching to hurdles and Dan Skelton's filly merits plenty of respect, especially as she may improve for a wind operation since her last appearance. On the pick of her form, Irish Chorus would be the most likely threat to the selection but she does have some questions to answer right now. Others to note are Plus Point and Generous Scorpion.
IRISH CHORUS shaped perfectly fine behind 2 above-average ones at Uttoxeter back in November and is well worth another on that form now returning to 2m. Our Lil is an obvious threat, with Plus Point an interesting hurdling debutante given her fairly useful Flat form.
In an ordinary race OUR LIL, who is back after wind surgery, is taken to confirm the promise of her two runs over hurdles in November.

![]() Kargese |
(7) 3/1(+14%) | (7) Kargese 3/1, Strong-travelling mare was runner-up in 2024 Triumph prior to chasing home Sir Gino at Aintree before securing further Grade 1 success in Champion Juvenile at Punchestown. Showed plenty on reappearance at Ascot and is likely to improve with a big-field handicap expected to bring out the best in her. Last season's Triumph H'dle runner-up; may have needed comeback run; could be on good mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Absurde |
(2) 5/1(+0%) | (2) Absurde 5/1, Very useful in both codes, enjoyed a stellar 2024 winning this corresponding race (heavy) under an ice-cool ride before a productive spell on the Flat, culminating in an excellent fifth in the Melbourne Cup. Has been targeted at this race again and he's a major player on even more favourable ground. Won this 12 months ago; should still have mileage in his mark judged on classy Flat form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Lark In The Mornin |
(13) 11/2(-10%) | (13) Lark In The Mornin 11/2, Travelled powerfully when a decisive winner of last year's Boodles but not seen to best effect on final run of last season when fifth in the Swinton faced with much quicker conditions. Reappearance at Leopardstown gave the impression he'll spot on again for this meeting. Big chance. Last year's Fred Winter winner; no threat on either run since but remains of interest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Valgrand |
(12) 8/1(-7%) | (12) Valgrand 8/1, Emphatic winner of Grade 2 hurdle at Cheltenham's October meeting, putting on a fine display of jumping under a front-running ride while also clocking an impressive timefigure. Hasn't been able to match that form in 3 runs since but this will have been his long-term target. Bold showing anticipated. Hasn't kicked on since Grade 2 novice win here but trainer has excellent record in race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Mclaurey |
(10) 17/2(-21%) | (10) Mclaurey 17/2, Followed up his December maiden success in impressive fashion, landing a 2m Listed handicap hurdle at Leopardstown last month, justifying strong support and looking value for more than the winning margin in the process. Appeals as the type to go on improving and merits serious consideration. Won warm race on handicap debut at Leopardstown and could have lots more left in the tank. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Irish Panther |
(14) 12/1(+40%) | (14) Irish Panther 12/1, Lightly-raced for his age and has made an encouraging start for new connections, placing on stable debut at Leopardstown (2m) before a very creditable third (wore first-time hood) behind McLaurey over the same C&D last month. Tongue tie added and patiently-ridden type could well run into a place. Third at Leopardstown this winter in first two handicaps and each-way claims once more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Pinot Gris |
(5) 14/1(+30%) | (5) Pinot Gris 14/1, Useful on the Flat and has proved progressive over hurdles, notably since the addition of blinkers (retained). Runner-up on only second start in a handicap (Leopardstown, 2m), having been ridden aggressively from the front. He's in very good hands and there could well be more improvement to come. Improved form in these blinkers the last twice, going close at Leopardstown when last seen. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Daddy Long Legs |
(1) 14/1(+44%) | (1) Daddy Long Legs 14/1, Handicap hurdle winner at the Punchestown Festival last season and bagged a Grade 3 hurdle at Tipperary (16.2f) in October. Has fallen short in Grade 1 company on his last couple of outings, flattered when chasing home State Man at Leopardstown last month. Tough ask off top weight. Mixed form since impressive handicap win at Punchestown last April, but in with a chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Our Champ |
(11) 14/1(+72%) | (11) Our Champ 14/1, Back to his best to win 2m Ascot handicap in November before very creditable third in the Gerry Feilden later that month. Not in the same form on two subsequent starts and this looks a tough ask stepping into a better race off a career-high mark. Tongue tie back on. Front-runner; excuses last twice; has run well on both his visits here; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Ethical Diamond |
(4) 16/1(-33%) | (4) Ethical Diamond 16/1, Useful winner on the Flat (placed in the Duke of Edinburgh handicap at Royal Ascot) and is proving equally as good in this code, putting up a no-nonsense display to break his hurdles duck last month. Remains unexposed in this sphere and one to consider. Easy maiden win at Punchestown; tough task back in handicap but could have more to offer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Hansard |
(6) 16/1(+20%) | (6) Hansard 16/1, 2023 Gerry Feilden winner shaped well on reappearance at Kempton, but disappointed in a valuable Windsor handicap next time. Not disgraced when third of 4 in the Grade 2 Kingwell Hurdle (15.2f) last month and will be much better suited by this test. Makes each-way appeal in first-time cheekpieces. Ran well in Grade 2 Kingwell Hurdle at Wincanton last month and he's a possible player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Cracking Rhapsody |
(9) 20/1(+39%) | (9) Cracking Rhapsody 20/1, Improving sort enhanced his Kelso record to 4 wins from 5 visits when digging in to defend his Morebattle crown from a 13 lb higher mark earlier this month. Has a fine attitude but more on his plate under a penalty here. Won the Morebattle a fortnight ago but loves Kelso; down the field on sole visit here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Ndaawi |
(8) 25/1(-79%) | (8) Ndaawi 25/1, Useful Flat performer who goes well in big fields in this sphere, third in last year's Boodles and most recent effort over hurdles was a very creditable second in a Grade 3 at the Galway Festival. Each-way claims if back to his best. Placed in two big h'caps last year; back from a break but could be an each-way contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Norman Fletcher |
(16) 40/1(+39%) | (16) Norman Fletcher 40/1, Useful novice hurdler has proved an even better handicapper, resuming winning ways at Huntingdon in November and losing little in defeat when third at Doncaster (16.6f) a month later. Seemingly tapped for toe in a weaker race at Musselburgh (15.6f) last time. Tough ask stepping up in class. In good form towards end of last year (including here) but two lesser runs have followed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Fils D'oudairies |
(3) 80/1(-60%) | (3) Fils D'oudairies 80/1, Grade 3 hurdle winner in October 2023 but hasn't been in that kind of form this season, albeit mixing it in Grade 1 company, well held behind State Man at Leopardstown last month. He doesn't look obviously well-handicapped and appears to be the stable second string. 10yo who hasn't been at his best this season following an absence and others appeal more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Spirit D'aunou |
(15) 80/1(-21%) | (15) Spirit D'aunou 80/1, Landed a 2m Sandown handicap (off 1 lb lower) on heavy ground last season and finished his campaign with a creditable fifth of 19 at Aintree (2m4f), seeing out the extra distance well. Has shown he retains plenty of ability this season but dropping back in distance, he may find this test too sharp. Has dropped down the weights but hasn't really shone this term; others make greater appeal. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
Absurde is 8lb higher than his last-to-first success in this 12 months ago and was last seen running with a huge amount of credit when fifth in the Melbourne Cup. The drier conditions this year would make his life a bit easier, but giving 5lb to his stable companion KARGESE might prove too much. The choice of Paul Townend, her juvenile form behind Majborough in the Triumph and Sir Gino at Aintree speaks for itself and she is expected to have stepped forward plenty from her comeback at Ascot in January. Last year's Fred Winter hero Lark In The Mornin caught the eye at Leopardstown over Christmas and has to be a huge threat, especially with the yard among the winners this week. The improving pair of Mclaurey and Ethical Diamond are others likely to be in the mix.
This could be run to suit the strong-travelling KARGESE who would benefit from a similarly ice-cool ride as Absurde was given when landing this race 12 months ago. It's a vote of confidence that Paul Townend switches allegiances and she can give Willie Mullins an unprecedented eighth County Hurdle. 2024 Boodles winner Lark In The Morning looks primed to run another huge race at the Festival, while Valgrand may fare best of the home team.
Last year's stylish winner ABSURDE (nap) earns the vote. His classy Flat form suggests he remains well treated despite an 8lb rise.

![]() Rock On Rita |
(4) SP(+100%) | (4) Rock On Rita SP, Point winner who won 2 mares' handicap hurdles in 2022 but has yet to show much in chases, absent 23 months prior to this season. Well held after another 3 months off at Fontwell (21.6f, heavy) 19 days ago and she looks to be up against it. Yet to see what she's still fully capable of since returning from 22-month absence.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Taxus Baccata |
(1) 11/10(-51%) | (1) Taxus Baccata 11/10, Successful only start in bumpers but didn't fulfill that promise over hurdles. However, this Irish point winner proved a different proposition sent chasing when scoring in novice handicap at Plumpton (19.8f, good to soft) 4 days ago. The one to beat under a penalty. Dotted up on Monday's Plumpton chase debut (2m4f, good); penalty ought not contain her.. |

![]() It's Easy |
(2) 11/4(-10%) | (2) It's Easy 11/4, Started the season off over hurdles for current yard, before running well returned to chasing when second in novice handicap at Taunton (16.1f) in January. Suited by the step back up in trip when going one better at Leicester (20.1f, heavy) last time and she's respected. Belated first chase win last time (2m4f, soft), albeit the race fell apart; more needed.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Call Blue |
(3) 11/1(+8%) | (3) Call Blue 11/1, Remains a maiden and disappointing on first 2 starts over fences in November. Hasn't fared much better back hurdling last 2 outings, in first-time cheekpieces when tailed off at Leicester (20.5f, heavy) in January. Lightly raced in this sphere but she has work to do. 0-17; gone wrong way since initially fair return from big layoff; cheekpieces ditched.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
TAXUS BACCATA made the perfect start to her chasing career when dotting up over an extended 2m3f at Plumpton on Monday and, providing this doesn't come too soon, she can follow up under a 7lb penalty. It's Easy looks the only realistic danger following her victory at Leicester a month ago. The other pair run from out of the handicap, but Call Blue can beat Rock On Rita to third.
A winner in Irish points, TAXUS BACCATA left her hurdles form behind when a 10-length winner on chasing debut at Plumpton 4 days ago and she looks to hold leading claims under a penalty. The biggest threat could come from It's Easy, who recorded a first success in Britain at Leicester on her latest outing.
Assuming this doesn't come too soon, Monday's easy chase debut scorer TAXUS BACCATA can make short work of It's Easy et al.

![]() Reallyntruthfully |
(3) 8/13(+67%) | (3) Reallyntruthfully 8/13, Runner-up sole outing in points last spring and showed promise in a Huntingdon bumper/maiden hurdle before opening his account at Warwick (21f). Solid fifth on handicap debut at Windsor before going close at Hereford (19.7f). The one to beat. Scored at Warwick in December; second at Hereford last month when looking unlucky.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Dramatic Encore |
(4) 5/2(-11%) | (4) Dramatic Encore 5/2, Is progressing by the run and found enough improvement to make a winning switch to hurdles in 15-runner mares novice at Huntingdon (20.7f) 22 days ago, asserting gradually. Sure to progress further. Made a winning debut over hurdles at Huntingdon last month but will need to improve.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() De Kingpin |
(1) 5/1(+33%) | (1) De Kingpin 5/1, Point recruit who looked suited by the increased emphasis on stamina when making it third time lucky over hurdles in 20.5f Newbury novice (soft) in December. Ran poorly on handicap debut at Sandown subsequently but possibly failed to handle extreme conditions. Awarded the race at Newbury in December; unsuited by heavy ground last time.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Cases can be made for all of these, but none more so than REALLYNTRUTHFULLY following his short-head second in handicap company at Hereford a month ago. Dramatic Encore took a big step forwards when upped in trip at Huntingdon last time and further improvement cannot be ruled out. Last Rodeo edges out De Kingpin to be best of the rest.
REALLYNTRUTHFULLY resumed his progress when collared only in the dying strides in a Hereford handicap the previous month and sets the standard on that form. Dramatic Encore and Last Rodeo are also progressing well, though, and merit respect in an interesting small-field novice.
A tight little heat. Preference is for REALLYNTRUTHFULLY to land his second win over hurdles. The biggest danger is Last Rodeo.

![]() Dinoblue |
(1) 6/4(-36%) | (1) Dinoblue 6/4, Very smart chaser who shaped best when runner-up to Limerick Lace in this last year (conceded first run). Has been mixing it with Grade 1 two milers this season before resuming winning ways back down in class in listed mares race at Naas last month. The one to beat despite a Grade 1 penalty. Close 2nd in this race last year on rare 2m4f run; in form; major chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Limerick Lace |
(3) 7/2(+42%) | (3) Limerick Lace 7/2, Had an excellent campaign last season, winning 3 times, notably when getting first run on Dinoblue in this. However, well below par both starts this term, hinting at temperament when remote second to Allegorie de Vassy in Grade 3 at Fairyhouse 10 weeks ago. Bit to prove now with headgear applied. Held Dinoblue at bay in this race in 2024; not nearly that standard on last 2 starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Allegorie De Vassy |
(4) 4/1(-14%) | (4) Allegorie De Vassy 4/1, Failed to meet expectations in this last year but back to best with front-running tactics readopted when winning Grade 3 at Fairyhouse. Emerged with plenty of credit when edged out by Dinoblue in listed chase at Naas since. 1 lb worse off with winner here but this longer trip more suitable. Second and a slightly below-par 4th in the last 2 runnings; solid chance on best form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Brides Hill |
(2) 9/2(+44%) | (2) Brides Hill 9/2, Smart chaser who completed 4-timer with another career best in Grade 2 at Punchestown in May. Excuses both starts this season and no surprise if she put up a good show. Four 2m4f wins before turned over twice at short prices; may yet improve further. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Shecouldbeanything |
(9) 12/1(+52%) | (9) Shecouldbeanything 12/1, Taken well to fences this season, completing 4-timer in listed event at Bangor in November. Not disgraced upped in class both starts since but has a bit to find with the principals here. Had a great spell when first chasing; good effort on most recent 2m4f run; this is harder. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Royale Margaux |
(8) 28/1(+58%) | (8) Royale Margaux 28/1, Prolific in France but took 15 goes to get off the mark for this yard when surprise winner of listed hurdle at Warwick last month. Chucked into the deep end back over fences now and easy to oppose. Has shown up well on this track; in good form over hurdles; tough task at the weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Mayhem Mya |
(7) 50/1(+60%) | (7) Mayhem Mya 50/1, Fairly useful chaser who arrives in form but is out of her depth at this level. Capable and effective over hurdles/fences; sole chase win in mares' novice in late 2023. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Fontaine Collonges |
(5) 66/1(-65%) | (5) Fontaine Collonges 66/1, Recorded a smart handicap performance when easy winner at Haydock (25.5f, heavy) in November. However, has an all-or-nothing profile and ran poorly in high-end marathon events since. Plenty to prove dropped markedly in trip with headgear applied. Never better than 3m1f win in November; pulled up twice since; difficult at the weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Je T'ai Porte |
(6) 66/1(+18%) | (6) Je T'ai Porte 66/1, Enthusiastic front runner who is a much better chaser than hurdler. However, not seen since falling at Listowel in September and this is a tough ask even if at her best. Fell in September; all jumps wins at 2m/2m1f; new trip and unlikely to be staying on best. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
Limerick Lace accounted for Dinoblue (second) and ALLEGORIE DE VASSY (fourth) in last year's renewal, but she hasn't pulled up any trees since and connections now reach for first-time cheekpieces. Allegorie De Vassy gained her revenge when beating Gavin Cromwell's mare by no less than 25 lengths in a Grade 3 at Fairyhouse prior to her neck defeat to Dinoblue at Naas. The Willie Mullins-trained eight-year-old will relish this step back up in trip and that will play to her strengths in her bid to get the better of her stablemate. Brides Hill was beaten at short odds in Listed company at Huntingdon, but she is a previous winner at this level and isn't out of it.
DINOBLUE would likely have defied her Grade 1 penalty in this last year had she not conceded first run to Limerick Lace and she's fancied to make amends having looked as good as ever this season. Allegorie de Vassy pushed her stablemate close at Naas 5 weeks ago so rates the main threat, while Brides Hill looks the pick of Gavin Cromwell's trio with last year's winner Limerick Lace arriving on the back of a couple of lacklustre efforts.
The outcome can lie between Allegorie De Vassy and DINOBLUE with the latter preferred on her good second in this race last year.

![]() Jackpot Cash |
(1) 5/2(+100%) | (1) Jackpot Cash 5/2, Showed promise in novice hurdles and over fences when trained by Evan Williams. Improved to score over smaller obstacles on stable debut (20.4f) and unlucky not to finish closer on best chase effort to date when runner-up at Bangor (17.4f) last month. May well gain compensation back over hurdles. Made winning stable debut at Southwell and second over fences at Bangor; plenty of appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Busy Being Busy |
(3) 7/2(+13%) | (3) Busy Being Busy 7/2, Showed promise on first of 2 starts in maiden hurdles for Neil McKnight in Ireland and spared a hard race on final qualifying run for new yard at Kempton (2m). Matched the best of his maiden form on handicap debut at Doncaster (16.5f) earlier this month and should be suited by this step up in trip. Better when fifth at Doncaster 13 days ago; shaped as though he would appreciate further. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Getoverthathill |
(6) 9/2(+0%) | (6) Getoverthathill 9/2, Proved a different proposition sent handicapping after 7 weeks off when landing 22f novice contest at Fontwell (good) in November, travelling well and drawing clear. The soft ground might have been his undoing when disappointing back in trip subsequently and may get back on track on better ground. Disappointing on soft ground last time, but has won well on good ground the time before. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Lightning Flash |
(2) 13/2(+28%) | (2) Lightning Flash 13/2, Won a Hexham novice hurdle for this yard prior to plying his trade in France with Noel George yard, regressing on final couple of starts. May have needed the run after 11 weeks off when well-held at Warwick 3 weeks ago but needs to rediscover his form on second run since rejoining this yard. Won at Hexham last May, but well held back with this yard three weeks ago; up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Bobby's Fortune |
(5) 7/1(+50%) | (5) Bobby's Fortune 7/1, Bumper winner was campaigned with handicaps in mind but failed to get home on handicap debut at Exeter (21.6f, heavy), although did take a step back in the right direction when fourth of 8 at Lingfield (2m) over an inadequate test. Longer trip should help but little room for error off current mark. Bumper winner; shaped as though worth another go over this far last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Gloire D'athon |
(4) 18/1(+10%) | (4) Gloire D'athon 18/1, Prolific early in his chasing career (winning 5 of his first 6 starts) but has lost his way over fences and fared little better in two starts over hurdles this season, for all he may be sharper for his latest run which came after a 3-month absence. Others have stronger claims. Has regressed since winning over fences off a 28lb higher mark in May 2023; blinkers on. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
JACKPOT CASH comfortably accounted for a subsequent winner on his latest hurdles start at Southwell and backed that up with a solid placed effort over fences at Bangor. The six-year-old has a lot more to give, certainly in this sphere, and he can get the better of Getoverthathill, who won well at Fontwell two starts ago. Bobby's Fortune might fare best of the remainder.
The strong-travelling JACKPOT CASH should be well suited to the sharp nature of this track, and he can make it 2 wins from 3 starts for his new yard. Getoverthathill may be able to bounce back from a disappointing effort returned to a sounder surface, while Bobby's Fortune and Gloire d'Athon could improve for the step up in trip.
The vote goes to JACKPOT CASH (nap) back over hurdles with the form of last month's Southwell win having been franked.

![]() Burrows Hall |
(5) 11/8(+39%) | (5) Burrows Hall 11/8, Is thriving and arrives on a hat-trick following recent handicap wins at Uttoxeter (2m4f) and Market Rasen (23f). Up another 6 lb but he's not taken lightly in his current mood. On a hat-trick having won his last two races, latest over 2m7f; conditions fine; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Rialannah |
(6) 4/1(+38%) | (6) Rialannah 4/1, Remains a maiden and she was pulled up for the second time in her last three starts in 23f handicap at Market Rasen last time when tried in cheekpieces. Needs to bounce back with headgear dispensed with. Maiden; placed in five of her 12 races over hurdles including a 2nd over C&D; a possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Shared |
(3) 9/2(-29%) | (3) Shared 9/2, Course winner who posted a good second of 12 in handicap hurdle at Wetherby (24.1f, heavy) 16 days ago. Handily weighted but he's an unreliable sort overall though. 2m winner here in 2023; 13l second on first try at 3m last time; could go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Bold Recruit |
(4) 5/1(-43%) | (4) Bold Recruit 5/1, Gained a deserved breakthrough win in 7-runner novice hurdle at Ludlow (23.8f, good to soft) 23 days ago. May do better still now handicapping. Much respected. 7Placed in two Irish points and two bumpers; won 3m maiden hurdle latest; not out of it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Curley Finger |
(2) 10/1(-33%) | (2) Curley Finger 10/1, A three-time 3m hurdles winner last season and he took a big step back in the right direction after 3 months off when fourth of 12 in 3m Wetherby handicap 16 days ago. Interesting off a 2 lb lower mark. Three wins in headgear last term; not so good this season; headgear back on; going a worry. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Pinot Rouge |
(1) 12/1(+45%) | (1) Pinot Rouge 12/1, C&D winner but pulled up in handicap hurdle at Wetherby (19.7f, heavy) 30 days ago. Needs to get back on track. Good 4th in Aintree Grade 1 last term; best form on soft ground so today's going not ideal. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
BURROWS HALL arrives here on the back of two victories last month and even a 6lb rise for the most recent of those wins at Market Rasen may not be enough to stop him here. Bold Recruit got off the mark in a 3m Ludlow maiden hurdle last time and the consistent gelding could improve now switched to handicaps, while Shared completes the shortlist.
None of these can be ruled out but CURLEY FINGER hinted at a revival after a break when fourth at Wetherby and can capitalise on a reduced mark here. Hat-trick seeking Burrows Hall rates the obvious threat, although handicap debutant Bold Recruit can't be discounted along with the enigmatic Shared.
The Joel Parkinson/Sue Smith team can land a one-two here with BURROWS HALL (nap) taken to beat stablemate Rialannah.

![]() Jet Blue |
(11) 5/1(+38%) | (11) Jet Blue 5/1, Very useful French hurdler who bagged a third success on his first outing for David Cottin in Grade 2 Bristol Novice Hurdle over C&D in December. ![]() Jasmin De Vaux |
(9) 6/1(+25%) | (9) Jasmin De Vaux 6/1, 2024 Champion Bumper winner and he made a winning hurdling debut in maiden at Navan in December. Cheekpieces on when a solid fourth in Nathaniel Lacy & Partners Solicitors Novices' Hurdle at Leopardstown (22.2f) last time. The choice of Paul Townend from his yard's half dozen and he can go well. Won the bumper here last year but 3m could now suit should his jumping stand the test. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Wingmen |
(18) 6/1(+25%) | (18) Wingmen 6/1, Smart bumper winner who got off to the perfect start over hurdles at Navan in November. Has improved with each of his three runs since, though no match for Final Demand when runner-up in Nathaniel Lacy & Partners Solicitors Novices' Hurdle at Leopardstown (22.2f) last time. Holds solid claims. Second in a 2m6f Grade 1 last time and gives the impression that he'll stay all day. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Derryhassen Paddy |
(3) 10/1(+17%) | (3) Derryhassen Paddy 10/1, Won his sole start in Irish points/bumpers and has looked a bright prospect in going 2-2 over hurdles at Uttoxeter and Windsor. Battled well on latter occasion and is the sort to go on improving. Lively outsider. Has raced on only soft or heavy ground but he's 4-4 and looking a hot prospect. |

![]() Argento Boy |
(1) 14/1(+13%) | (1) Argento Boy 14/1, Debut bumper winner who was gaining his first win since landing the odds in 23f Punchestown maiden hurdle last month. Needs to step forward to figure here though. His jumping hasn't been pretty and all his best form is in the mud, but ability respected. |

![]() Intense Approach |
(8) 14/1(+13%) | (8) Intense Approach 14/1, Enjoyed an excellent summer/autumn when three times a hurdles scorer and also a fine second in Persian War at Chepstow. (17) 16/1(-60%) | (17) Wendigo 16/1, Has quickly made up into a very useful hurdler, 4¾ lengths second to The New Lion in Challow Novices' Hurdle at Newbury before easily landing the odds in 2m4f Wetherby novice last month. Needs considering now stepping up to 3m. The form of his 2nd in the 2m4f Grade 1 Challow brings him into this and he was staying on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Sounds Victorius |
(16) 20/1(+9%) | (16) Sounds Victorius 20/1, Fourth in Champion bumper and improving over hurdles, scoring at Fairyhouse (20f) on New Year's Day before a very good fifth of 12 in Nathaniel Lacy and Partners' Hurdle at Leopardstown (22f). A real staying type who has more to offer here. Fourth in last year's bumper here but opposable on what he's shown over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Ballybow |
(2) 22/1(-57%) | (2) Ballybow 22/1, Son of Flemensfirth has improved with each of his four runs in this sphere, bagging maiden at Naas (2m3f) and Grade 3 at Clonmel (3m) in 2025. Capable of better still so he's one to consider with his stamina proven. Grade 3 winner over 3m; willing attitude and that can count for plenty in this race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Jax Junior |
(10) 22/1(+21%) | (10) Jax Junior 22/1, Hasn't looked back since undergoing breathing surgery, making all in novice events at Doncaster and Ascot either side of Christmas. Advanced his form when third of 6 in listed hurdle at Huntingdon (2m4f) last month. Likeable sort who hasn't stopped improving yet. Could improve for 3m but this is a tough race in which to make all (that's his style). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Flicker Of Hope |
(6) 25/1(-56%) | (6) Flicker Of Hope 25/1, Is enjoying a fine season and garnered his fourth handicap success at Navan (25f) in December. ![]() Ma Shantou |
(13) 25/1(+24%) | (13) Ma Shantou 25/1, Progessive sort who bagged novice hurdles (around 2m4f) at Warwick and Windsor before Christmas before posting an excellent third of 6 in River Don Novices' Hurdle (3m) in January. No forlorn hope. Beaten favourite over this far at Doncaster but could have done with a more truly run race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Yellow Car |
(19) 33/1(+0%) | (19) Yellow Car 33/1, Point winner who has progressed steadily over hurdles, winning 2 of his first 3 starts at Newton Abbot and Fontwell. Took another step forward when narrowly landing River Don Novices' Hurdle at Doncaster (3m) in January and this likeable sort is respected. Progressive but has plenty to find with Jet Blue on their clash here in December. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Fishery Lane |
(5) 50/1(-100%) | (5) Fishery Lane 50/1, Very useful bumper performer who built on his hurdling promise to land 20f Fairyhouse novice in January. This represents a big step up but he's open to further progress. 5th in last year's bumper here; recent 2m4f winner; stamina could be his forte. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Port Joulain |
(15) 50/1(-52%) | (15) Port Joulain 50/1, Useful bumper scorer who got off the mark at the third attempt in this sphere in 5-runner novice hurdle at Punchestown (19.2f) in January. ![]() Jig's Forge |
(12) 50/1(-25%) | (12) Jig's Forge 50/1, Winning Irish pointer who made a successful start in this sphere in 2m4f novice at Ffos Las in November. Not disgraced when a well-held fourth of 6 in River Don Novices' Hurdle at Doncaster (3m). Remains with potential. Gave up the ghost quite tamely when behind some of these in a 3m Grade 2 at Doncaster. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() First Confession |
(4) 50/1(+0%) | (4) First Confession 50/1, Points winner came in last of 7 in the Challow Hurdle at Newbury but bounced back to make it 2-4 in this sphere in 2m3f Ascot novice hurdle last month. This step up in trip shoudl suit but others possess better form. Dual 2m3f Ascot winner; trainer describes him as a relentless galloper; could improve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Inn At The Park |
(7) 66/1(-65%) | (7) Inn At The Park 66/1, Walk In The Park gelding got off to a successful start in 23f novice hurdle at Fairyhouse in December. Failed to build on that in the expected manner when fourth of 5 in 22f novice at Thurles following month. Shouldn't be written off for top stable though. Below form on latest start; looked a stayer in winning over 2m7f the time before. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Nativehill |
(14) 66/1(-65%) | (14) Nativehill 66/1, Changed hands for £260,000 after winning between the flags and he built on a promising hurdling debut Newbury second when landing the odds in 2m5f novice at Huntingdon 12 days ago. That form leaves him with lots to find here but remains with considerable potential now his stamina is unlocked more. Looks in need of 3m but wouldn't be the obvious answer on what he's shown to date. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
THE BIG WESTERNER had little difficulty in landing a Grade 2 at Limerick on Boxing Day, with that contest a useful stepping stone for previous winners of this contest in Weapon's Amnesty, Martello Tower, Penhill, Vanillier and last year's hero Stellar Story. Although Henry De Bromhead's six-year-old is aiming to become the first mare to land this event since its inception in 2005, she ticks plenty of the right boxes and could be set for the top. French raider Jet Blue stamped his claims when outstaying his rivals in a Grade 2 over C&D in December and won't lack for stamina in what is typically a war of attrition. Wingmen arrives on the back of two solid placed efforts in Grade 1 company and improvement cannot be ruled out now stepping up further in trip.
This looks wide open but Henry de Bromhead last won this with his Gold Cup hero Minella Indo and his smart mare THE BIG WESTERNER can use her 7 lb sex allowance to telling effect and retain her unbeaten record over hurdles. Gordon Elliott's Wingmen found only Final Demand too good in a Leopardstown Grade 1 last time and heads the list of dangers, although Jasmin de Vaux (choice of Paul Townend), Wendigo and Ballybow all command plenty of respect too. Derryhassen Paddy completes the shortlist.
Stamina usually wins the day and DERRYHASSEN PADDY is a staying chaser in the making and held in the highest regard.

(1) 3/1(-100%) | (1) Little Soiree 3/1, Maiden but she didn't make too bad a start to her handicap career when third at Windsor in December. Improved switched to more aggressive tactics when narrowly denied at Plumpton (15.9f, soft) last month (in front everywhere bar the line) and her turn looks imminent. Only just failed to break her duck at Plumpton last time; solid claims with a repeat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Sawpit Sienna |
(5) 18/5(+55%) | (5) Sawpit Sienna 18/5, Operating below her best at present, fifth of 6 in handicap at Plumpton (15.9f, soft) last month. Blinkers replace the usual cheekpieces and handicapper has given her a squeak. Market check advisable with talented 7 lb conditional booked. Dual 2m4f winner here; 5lb below last winning mark but a bit to find with Little Soiree. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Solid Silver |
(2) 11/2(+73%) | (2) Solid Silver 11/2, Fair bumper performer who showed similar form on the Flat without winning for Sir Mark Prescott. Only poor form in 3 qualifying runs over hurdles for new yard and proved a real handful switched to a handicap at Huntingdon (19.6f, good to soft) just over 3 weeks ago (jumped left). 0-15 under rules; a sharp 2m on likely good ground may not be ideal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Arenas Del Tiempo |
(4) 13/2(-63%) | (4) Arenas Del Tiempo 13/2, Fared better than on hurdles debut when third of 8 in maiden at Plumpton (2m, good) last April and shaped better than the bare result at Fontwell the following month. Campaigned solely on the Flat since but fancied to make her mark on handicap debut in this sphere. Losing run up to 28, but her best effort over hurdles last spring came on good ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() What U Wanna Do Is |
(3) 17/2(+0%) | (3) What U Wanna Do Is 17/2, Produced best effort to date when third of 10 in novice hurdle at Exeter (16.7f, good to soft) last week. The return to handicap company looks the way to go and she could well have a say in proceedings. Best effort when third in good ground at Exeter a week ago; player if conditions similar. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Having only been collared in the dying strides at Plumpton last month, LITTLE SOIREE looks a winner in waiting at this level. Chris Gordon's mare makes plenty of appeal racing off an unchanged mark and a breakthrough victory could be on the cards. The biggest threat may emerge from Remarkable Flight, who returned to form with a respectable second in her first handicap over hurdles at Southwell. Arenas Del Tiempo is the pick of the remainder.
This is tricky but the suggestion is LITTLE SOIREE, who was in front everywhere bar where it mattered at Plumpton last month and Chris Gordon's mare can make amends from the same mark. Arenas del Tiempo heads up the dangers making her handicap debut in this sphere, with Remarkable Flight another to consider having found only another handicap first-timer too good last time.
If again ridden positively on this sharp track as when just caught at Plumpton last month, LITTLE SOIREE could prove hard to catch.

![]() I Ain't Your Mate |
(9) 15/8(+25%) | (9) I Ain't Your Mate 15/8, Bought for £120,000 after placing in a couple of Irish points and appears to be gradually getting the hang of things in this sphere judged on his latest fourth of 14 in a 15.2f Wincanton maiden. Very much the type to improve now faced with a stiffer test on this handicap debut. Ran his best race over hurdles when fourth of 14 at Wincanton last month.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Diamond Dealer |
(7) 11/4(+61%) | (7) Diamond Dealer 11/4, Equipped with first-time tongue strap (also hooded) when opening his account at Uttoxeter in October. Well held both subsequent starts, including with hood discarded (omitted again here) in a Wetherby handicap (19.7f, soft) when last seen on Boxing Day. Claims with drying ground in his favour. Maiden winner; last of six finishers on handicap debut last time but not written off.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Saligo Bay |
(8) 10/3(+58%) | (8) Saligo Bay 10/3, Runner-up final start for Gary & Joshua Moore at Plumpton in October and bettered previous efforts for this yard when third of 9 in 16.8f Sedgefield handicap in January. Latest effort here 13 days ago was respectable but he didn't appear to get home upped to 19.3f at Catterick on penultimate start. Won three times over hurdles but yet to hit form this year for current connections.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Pure Carbon |
(4) 5/1(+0%) | (4) Pure Carbon 5/1, Placed on the second of his 2 starts in bumpers and promising start over hurdles when runner-up in a 2m Warwick novice on return in October. Has failed to build on that in 2 subsequent starts but this 6-y-o may well take a step forward now upped in trip for this handicap debut. Unexposed 6yo who is respected now back on better ground for his handicap debut.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Let's Go Joe |
(10) 11/2(0%) | (10) Let's Go Joe 11/2, Ended a losing sequence with a career best in 13-runner handicap here (19.4f, good) in November. Stamina seemingly stretched upped to 3m next time but excuses for latest effort at Sedgefield (finished third but was beaten 26 lengths) are not so easty to find. Won here off 4lb lower mark in November but beaten favourite twice since.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Gilbertina |
(5) 8/1(-23%) | (5) Gilbertina 8/1, Has done most of her racing at Market Rasen during the last 15 months or so, placed twice in 20.6f handicaps there this season. Plenty of decent form here on Town Moor earlier in her career, too, including a maiden hurdle success back in March 2021, and she's one for the shortlist. Won here in 2021 but tends to save her best form for Market Rasen (two wins).. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Ashington |
(1) 17/2(+39%) | (1) Ashington 17/2, Dual winner of handicap hurdles in 2024, latterly over 21f at Kelso in September. Below par since but this represents a step down compared to the quality of handicaps that he usually contests and, now just 1 lb above that Kelso mark, he needs considering. Well beaten on the Flat and over hurdles since returning from a break; more required.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Guy |
(2) 16/1(-14%) | (2) Guy 16/1, Better known as a chaser and offered little back hurdling at Hereford last month, on what was his first run in this sphere since landing a Ludlow novice almost 2 years ago. Best over fences and well held on his return to hurdles last month; hard to fancy.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Juan Bermudez |
(3) 22/1(-57%) | (3) Juan Bermudez 22/1, Fairly useful handicapper on the Flat and landed a brace of 18.7f novice events for Dan Skelton at Stratford last June. However, no impact in handicaps since and probably best watched back from 6 months (has undergone a wind on in the interim) on this debut for new yard. Won two novice h'dles for Dan Skelton at Stratford last June but poor runs the last twice.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Quickbuck |
(11) 100/1(+0%) | (11) Quickbuck 100/1, Fair hurdler at his best but has completely lost his way, pulled up both starts for new yard since returning from a 10-month absence in September. Now tried in a hood. Pulled up when 100-1 on two runs for current stable.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
GILBERTINA wasn't disgraced in third in this grade at Market Rasen last month and competes off an unchanged mark. Nick Kent's eight-year-old is a previous course winner and she looks to have been found a suitable opportunity to get her head back in front. Ashington finished midfield in a warmer contest at Newcastle last time and should go well, while Pure Carbon is another to watch out for.
With improvement likely now upped in trip for this handicap debut, I AIN'T YOUR MATE is not short of appeal. Diamond Dealer needs to get back on track following a couple of low-key efforts but that's entirely possible now back on better ground. Pure Carbon is another who could be seen in a better light now handicapping, while Ashington and Gilbertina are others to consider.
Handicap debutant I AIN'T YOUR MATE is selected now up in trip, while Pure Carbon is second choice.

![]() Galopin Des Champs |
(4) 8/13(-15%) | (4) Galopin Des Champs 8/13, Dual Cheltenham Gold Cup winner. Only third on 2½m Punchestown reappearance but has comfortably won a pair of Grade 1s at Leopardstown since returned to 3m. Sure to take all the beating as he bids to become only the fifth three-time winner of this race. Outstanding stayer who has won the last two Gold Cups; big chance of making it three. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Banbridge |
(2) 13/2(-44%) | (2) Banbridge 13/2, Raced mostly at shorter but there's stamina in his pedigree and he proved suited by the return to 3m when overhauling Il Est Francais in the King George at Kempton. This race asks a different question but he's good enough to ensure Galopin Des Champs doesn't have things all his own way. First 3m chase run when winning King George; has further to go on a much stiffer finish. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Inothewayurthinkin |
(6) 15/2(+0%) | (6) Inothewayurthinkin 15/2, Won the Kim Muir at this meeting last year before adding a Grade 1 novice at Aintree. Has found life tougher in top open company since but he did stay on well when 7¼ lengths fourth to Galopin Des Champs in the Irish Gold Cup (3m) 6 weeks ago and this longer trip will play to his strengths. Big improver when winning the Kim Muir and a Grade 1 last spring; coming to hand; a threat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Monty's Star |
(7) 10/1(+17%) | (7) Monty's Star 10/1, Second to Fact To File and Spillane's Tower in Grade 1 novices here and at Punchestown last spring. Better effort this season when 7½ length fifth (Inothewayurthinkin neck ahead in fourth) to Galopin Des Champs in the Irish Gold Cup at Leopardstown last month. Longer trip now should suit. High class as novice; just two runs this term; creditable show latest; open to improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Corbetts Cross |
(3) 14/1(+22%) | (3) Corbetts Cross 14/1, High-class chaser who landed the National Hunt Chase at last year's Festival before a fine third to Gerri Colombe in Bowl at Aintree (25f, soft) in April. Operating a little below that level this season but will at least find this test more suitable than the 21f he ran over at Ascot last time. Won at 3m6f here last March; strong form at Aintree after; return to staying trip helpful. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() The Real Whacker |
(9) 28/1(+44%) | (9) The Real Whacker 28/1, Won the Brown Advisory at the 2023 Festival. Back to that sort of level when making all in the Charlie Hall at Wetherby (3m, good) in November and respectable fourth of 11 in King George since. If he's allowed to get into a good rhythm in front he might outrun big odds. Won 3m novice here in 2023; life harder since; more needed than Grade 2 win in November. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Ahoy Senor |
(1) 28/1(+58%) | (1) Ahoy Senor 28/1, Not a fluent jumper of fences but top-class on his day. Shaped as if as good as ever when third in Old Roan at Aintree on reappearance but has pulled up on both runs since. Has had wind surgery. Latest win was Grade 2 here in early 2023; Aintree is his safe haven now; has had wind op. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Gentlemansgame |
(5) 40/1(+20%) | (5) Gentlemansgame 40/1, Landed the 2023 Charlie Hall at Wetherby. Back to that sort of form when third of 9 to Galopin Des Champs in Savills at Leopardstown (3m) just after Christmas but below par when a well-held third in the Cotswold Chase here in January. Pulled up in this last year. Pulled up in 2024 Gold Cup; form needs improvement; others can cope better with this test. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Royale Pagaille |
(8) 80/1(-21%) | (8) Royale Pagaille 80/1, Mud lover who landed a second Betfair Chase at Haydock in November. Not so good away from testing ground when a remote sixth in the Grand National Trial there last month and he's unlikely to get his ideal conditions here this afternoon. Just respectable form in three previous Gold Cups; down on his luck in latest two starts. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
GALOPIN DES CHAMPS is almost impossible to oppose in his bid to join a select band of equine legends as a three-time Gold Cup winner. The imperious nine-year-old is as tough and consistent as he is classy and has looked better than ever this season in landing a second Savills Chase and a third Irish Gold Cup. He is seemingly bombproof. Connections of Fact To File admitted defeat after his clashes with Willie Mullins' superstar at Leopardstown and diverted to the Ryanair, with owner JP McManus represented instead by the supplemented Inothewayurthinkin, who was so good in the Kim Muir last year but only fourth in the Irish Gold Cup. Corbetts Cross, another 2024 Festival hero, also carries the famous green and gold silks, although he has plenty of ground to make up on Banbridge from their Kempton meeting. Providing he stays the trip, the Joseph O'Brien-trained King George hero looks the one for the forecast.
GALOPIN DES CHAMPS landed a third Irish Gold Cup last month and can cement his place among the greats by repeating that feat in chasing's blue riband event. Banbridge is a top-class chaser in his own right and December's King George hero has the potential to give the reigning champion plenty to think about with ground conditions likely to be ideal for him. Inothewayurthinkin, who was supplemented for £25,000 last weekend, can complete his Grand National preparations by staying on for third.
The latest challengers crowd round but GALOPIN DES CHAMPS has stood the test of time so well and he can take home his third Gold Cup.

![]() Bluegrass |
(2) 11/8(+69%) | (2) Bluegrass 11/8, Put reappearance to good use when successful over C&D in first-time cheekpieces in November. Followed up at Huntingdon a month later and having disappointed here on New Year's Day, looked better than ever when runner-up at Doncaster just under 2 weeks ago. Player nudged up 2 lb. 2-2 over C&D; versatile as regards ground and seems likely to make his presence felt. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Admiralty House |
(4) 5/1(+64%) | (4) Admiralty House 5/1, Lightly-raced winner who was a good third of 8 in 2m Haydock handicap in the mud in December. Ran below form after 7 weeks off when well beaten at Taunton (16.5f, soft) since so needs to bounce back quickly. Ran poorly at Taunton last month, but the return to good ground should suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Casi Crudo |
(7) 11/2(-100%) | (7) Casi Crudo 11/2, Not stood much racing since runner-up twice in handicap company in 2023 but last 2 efforts represented a step in the right direction, worth marking up slightly when third of 12 in handicap hurdle at Warwick (16f, heavy) 3 weeks ago. Every chance he can add to his sole previous win. Comes into this after a couple of solid placed efforts at Warwick; cannot be dismissed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() For Pleasure |
(1) 6/1(-140%) | (1) For Pleasure 6/1, Fine start for this yard in winter 2023, winning over C&D/at Fontwell prior to scoring on the Flat at Chelmsford last April. Added another victory to his tally when making all at Haydock in December and arrives fit from a spin on the Flat at Southwell just over 5 weeks ago. Plenty to like. Seven hurdle wins include one over C&D; should be fine on good ground; player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Ip Up |
(5) 15/2(-25%) | (5) Ip Up 15/2, Added to an underwhelming season so far when well-beaten last of 4 in handicap chase at Uttoxeter (16f, soft) in January. Has dropped back to her last winning mark now reverted to hurdles but needs to show more before becoming of interest. C&D winner who returns to hurdles off her last winning mark; possibilities. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Secret Des Dieux |
(3) 10/1(-82%) | (3) Secret Des Dieux 10/1, Fair form in bumpers and odds-on winner of C&D maiden/Hereford novice on first 2 starts of this season. Emphasis on stamina counted against him when third on handicap debut here on New Year's Day and found listed company all too much at Huntingdon (19.6f, good to soft) last month. Two hurdle wins late last year including over C&D, but ran poorly last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Max Of Stars |
(6) 16/1(+52%) | (6) Max Of Stars 16/1, Took very well to hurdling in the first half of last season, winning 4 times, and back to that sort of form when second over C&D last summer. Not in same form on Flat or in this sphere since, though, so it's easy enough to look elsewhere. Not in much form lately, but 3lb lower than when second of five over C&D last summer. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
For Pleasure regained the winning thread at Haydock in December and a subsequent spin on the Flat when third at Southwell should have kept him warmed up for another bold showing. However, a 4lb higher mark in this sphere does demand more from Olly Murphy's veteran and BLUEGRASS is slightly more compelling. The six-year-old arrives on the back of a close-up second at Doncaster and a 2lb nudge up the ratings may prove inconsequential. Casi Crudo is also noted up in class.
CASI CRUDO is knocking firmly on the door, so Alex Hales' 6-y-o is worth chancing to add to his sole previous success. The main threat may emerge from For Pleasure, who was last seen in this sphere when winning at Haydock in December and arrives fit from a spin on the Flat. Bluegrass looks best of the remainder.
Preference is for BLUEGRASS who is 2-2 over C&D and showed this sort of mark wasn't beyond him when just beaten at Doncaster last time.

(8) 4/1(+11%) | (8) Sibling Rivelry 4/1, 22/1 and hooded, showed ability amidst obvious greenness when fourth of 13 in novice at Chelmsford (8f) on debut 15 days ago. Open to improvement. Staying-on fourth at Chelsmford on her debut; she can take a step forward. |

(5) 17/2(-209%) | (5) Papa Mango 17/2, 40,000 gns foal, €20,000 yearling, Magna Grecia gelding. Closely related to 1m winner Stratocracy and half-brother to several winners, including useful winner up to 8.6f Shawaahid and 6f winner Gallanticus (by Galileo Gold). Dam unraced. This Magna Grecia gelding needs considering, especially if the market vibes are positive. |

![]() Bigfield Dreams |
(6) 40/1(-21%) | (6) Bigfield Dreams 40/1, 80/1, went with little promise when tenth of 13 in novice at Chelmsford (8f) on debut 15 days ago. Debut tenth at Chelmsford 15 days ago; plenty more needed from daughter of Golden Horn. |

![]() Hazy Bela |
(7) 66/1(-65%) | (7) Hazy Bela 66/1, €1,000 yearling, Belardo filly. Dam, placed at 7f/1m, out of useful 2-y-o 6f winner Sweet Cecily. The market can guide for this daughter of Belardo on her first run. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Expected to come on for her debut at Chelmsford, Sibling Rivelry may be the pick of those with experience after keeping on for a distant fourth over 1m that day, but she doesn't set the bar very high at all and it could pay to concentrate on interesting newcomers Papa Mango and CAPTAIN PARMA. Both make appeal at this level on pedigree and represent in-form yards but narrow preference is for the latter, whose dam won over 6f on dirt at Meydan and was also placed in a 1m Listed contest there.
Those with experience on the track don't set a tall standard to aim at so, with his yard flying, CAPTAIN PARMA gets the vote to make a winning start for James Owen. Sibling Rivelry showed ability amidst obvious greenness when fourth on debut at Chelmsford recently so heads up the dangers, with another debutant Papa Mango taken to round off the shortlist.
Little form to go on here and it could pay to side with James Owen's Iffraaj colt CAPTAIN PARMA who is taken to make a winning start.

![]() Baby Chou |
(3) 85/40(+23%) | (3) Baby Chou 85/40, Point winner who has yet to get her head in front under Rules but it's surely a matter of time before she puts that right having found just one too good in 25.2f handicap chases at Catterick the last twice. In the mix. Irish point winner; runner-up in two Catterick handicaps on last two starts; contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Loud And Proud |
(2) 3/1(-100%) | (2) Loud And Proud 3/1, Winless following 8 attempts between the flags and failed to make much of an impact in 4 starts over hurdles. However, there were more positive signs when third of 8 on chase debut at Warwick (3m, soft) 3 weeks ago and she looks capable of winning races in this sphere on that evidence. Placed in 2 Irish points; best run for this yard when third on chase debut latest; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() You Say Its Over |
(5) 10/3(+61%) | (5) You Say Its Over 10/3, Yet to win a race of any description following 19 attempts under Rules and she was around 7 lengths adrift of the second-placed Baby Chou when fourth at Catterick last month. Looks vulnerable, for all that she's on a good mark judged on pick of her hurdles form. 0-19; fair 4th from 7lb wrong latest (Baby Chou 2nd but is now worse off); not out of it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Ann D'arabie |
(4) 5/1(-11%) | (4) Ann D'arabie 5/1, Considerately handled in trio of novice hurdles last season and stepped up on her low-key handicap debut/reappearance when fourth of 10 at Wincanton (24.7f, heavy) in December. Half-sister to a couple of winning chasers and perhaps she will be seen in a better light herself now switched to fences. Unexposed; fair fourth in novice handicap hurdle latest; quite interesting on chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Intersky Sunset |
(1) 11/1(-83%) | (1) Intersky Sunset 11/1, Just the one win from 12 hurdling starts to her name and record in this sphere stands at 0-7. Will likely come up short once again, unless the first-time cheekpieces/refitted tongue strap have a positive effect. Ex-Irish; poor runs over hurdles for new yard; headgear tried on return to chasing. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
BABY CHOU only found a subsequent winner too good at Catterick on her most recent start and the handicapper might have been kind to leave her mark alone. Sam England's seven-year-old may only need to reproduce that level of form in order to go one better. Loud And Proud wasn't beaten far into third at Warwick last time and she could have more to offer on only her second chase start. You Say Its Over is the pick of the remainder.
This looks ripe for LOUD AND PROUD, who immediately left her hurdles form behind when third on recent chase debut at Warwick and she is open to improvement. Baby Chou is second choice ahead of chase debutante Ann d'Arabie.
Runner-up on her last two starts, BABY CHOU is taken to go one better by beating Loud And Proud and You Say Its Over.

(5) 13/2(+19%) | (5) Hastily 13/2, Course winner. Latest win here in December. Respectable seventh of 13 in handicap at this course (6f, 11/1) 30 days ago, not knocked about. Possibilities. Tricky sort can be slowly away which could be fatal down to minimum trip here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Turn Up The Beat |
(7) 8/1(-60%) | (7) Turn Up The Beat 8/1, Tenth of 13 in handicap at this C&D (3/1) 46 days ago. Can give a good account if shrugging off latest effort. Excuses last time, previous C&D second to Crystal Luna puts him in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Sam's Xpress |
(2) 10/1(0%) | (2) Sam's Xpress 10/1, C&D winner. Latest win here in November. 10/1, ninth of 11 in handicap at this C&D 28 days ago. Blinkers/tongue strap back on and not ruled out. C&D win in November but safely held since; opposable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Crystal Luna |
(1) 10/1(-67%) | (1) Crystal Luna 10/1, C&D winner. Winner here in December. 6/1, respectable fourth of 11 in handicap at this C&D 28 days ago. One for the shortlist. Struggled since C&D win in December off 2lb lower; inexperienced 10lb claimer now booked. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() No Speed Limit |
(6) 10/1(-25%) | (6) No Speed Limit 10/1, 4-time course winner. Good fourth of 6 in handicap (14/1) at Newcastle (5f) 7 days ago. In the picture. Front-runner with solid recent form; should run his race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Historical Fact |
(10) 33/1(+0%) | (10) Historical Fact 33/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Hooded for 1st time, eleventh of 12 in maiden at this C&D (100/1) 44 days ago. Cheekpieces on for 1st time. Makes handicap debut. Shown little in 4 maidens, latest over C&D; cheekpieces on for handicap debut; 8lb wrong. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Hezahunk |
(8) 50/1(-25%) | (8) Hezahunk 50/1, Course winner. 66/1, last of 13 in handicap at this course (6f) 30 days ago. Hard to make a case for. Claiming winner has since gone off the boil; 7lb wrong here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
MY GIRL SIOUX has filled the runner-up spot on her latest two starts over C&D and had No Speed Limit close behind in third, Crystal Luna fourth with Beano Power and Sam's Xpress further behind when beating all bar Sporting Hero last month. The winner has boosted the form by scoring again since and the selection can add to a 5f victory here last November. The front-running No Speed Limit has been kept busy with three outings since including when beaten about a length at Newcastle last Friday, while Eric Lock is probably best at this trip and has dropped down to a competitive mark.
MY GIRL SIOUX signalled she is ready to go in again when runner-up over C&D last time and with the winner having franked the form she looks the way to go. Crystal Luna also has winning form over C&D and heads the list of dangers, with course-specialist No Speed Limit and the handily-weighted Sam's Xpress also in the mix.
Despite a poor strike rate MY GIRL SIOUX can take a second career win here, at the expense of No Speed Limit

![]() Angels Dawn |
(24) 3/1(+25%) | (24) Angels Dawn 3/1, Career highlight when winning the 2023 Kim Muir and would have been placed in last year's renewal when falling 2 out (both under this rider). Successful both starts in points this winter, beating Ryehill by 6 lengths on second of them and she's a very classy recruit to this sphere. Leading claims. 2023 Kim Muir winner who hasn't been overly pressed to win her points this term. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Its On The Line |
(10) 4/1(+20%) | (10) Its On The Line 4/1, Dual winner of the Champion Hunters Chase at Punchestown, latterly in May. Below that level when odds-on twice to add to his tally in that sphere during the winter but he's twice finished runner-up in this race so is more than capable of making his presence felt. Runner-up the last two years; below par in last two races but too talented to be ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Shearer |
(18) 6/1(+57%) | (18) Shearer 6/1, Took well to fences with 2 novice handicap wins in summer 2023 and showed he's still very talented when scoring easily in a Ffos Las hunter back from a long absence in February. Turned out 12 days later and workmanlike at Taunton but he's a player with this trip expected to suit. Unbeaten over regulation fences; 2-2 in handicaps and likewise in hunter chases. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Willitgoahead |
(22) 13/2(-44%) | (22) Willitgoahead 13/2, Multiple point winner and plenty to like about his switch to Rules this winter, shaping best when second at Limerick before readily going one place better at Thurles 8 weeks ago. Jumped and travelled with plenty of purpose that day and well worth a shot at this for Gordon Elliott. Impressed at Thurles; a rising force and has now been snapped up to join Gordon Elliott. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Ryehill |
(17) 17/2(+15%) | (17) Ryehill 17/2, Chased home Angel's Dawn in a point in December and left previous hunter form trailing in his wake when forging clear to land 9-runner contest at Naas from Ontheropes. These stiffer fences ask a new challenge but he brings untapped potential to the table. A scopey, lightly raced 8yo who impressed last time at Naas and he's on the up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Fairly Famous |
(7) 17/2(+58%) | (7) Fairly Famous 17/2, Prolific in points and produced his best effort in this sphere when readily landing C&D event in May. Warmed up for this with another success between the flags in January and this thorough stayer can go well. 2-2 here and this lightly raced 8yo has looked in good order in his latest points. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Rocky's Howya |
(16) 12/1(+33%) | (16) Rocky's Howya 12/1, Looked limited for most of his career but hit a purple patch in points and carried on the excellent work when fourth in the 2023 renewal of this race. Failed to meet expectations only Rules start since at Limerick in December. Added to tally between the flags in January. Fourth in this two years ago when at the top of his game; that might not be the case now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Allmankind |
(1) 20/1(-43%) | (1) Allmankind 20/1, Smart hurdler and high-class chaser during his time with Dan Skelton. Missed 20 months but fair bit of ability remains judged on his 3 efforts in handicaps this term. Successful both starts in points, soundly beating only other finisher on second of them, but stamina a concern here. Stamina could be tested with this extra yardage and he's back in far stronger company. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Wonderwall |
(23) 28/1(-12%) | (23) Wonderwall 28/1, Fairly useful hurdler/lightly raced over fences. Sold for £33,000 and successful both starts in points in late-2024 and now tackles this discipline for the first time. Tongue tie goes on and this probably on the limit of his stamina. Off since early November but has a positive jockey booking and brings each-way hopes. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Music Drive |
(13) 33/1(-136%) | (13) Music Drive 33/1, Fairly useful in bumpers and bright start over hurdles in 2022, off the mark in a Galway maiden (19f) prior to improved efforts in defeat at Cheltenham. Left Gordon Elliott and has no chasing experience to call upon under Rules but has won both starts in points this year. Impressive enough in his recent points to be quite a market mover for this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Ontheropes |
(14) 33/1(-50%) | (14) Ontheropes 33/1, Smart handicap chaser at best for Willie Mullins and having won a point, he stuck to his task pretty well when runner-up to Ryehill on hunter debut at Naas last month, Task is to now build on that. Last season's Scottish National fifth and assured stamina ticks a big box in this race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Lift Me Up |
(11) 33/1(+18%) | (11) Lift Me Up 33/1, Multiple-point winner who took a step forward on just his fourth start under Rules when second to What A Glance in a good-quality hunter at Stratford in May. Fitted with cheekpieces and matched that form when scoring at Warwick in January. This asks a different question. Recent Warwick winner but on the balance of form a minor role looks on the cards. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() What A Glance |
(21) 40/1(-21%) | (21) What A Glance 40/1, Progressive form in hunters for this yard, supplementing his Cheltenham win at Stratford (both in May). Failed to win last 2 starts in points and this demands a career best. Course winner last May and followed up at Stratford; stays further so should be running on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Go On Chez |
(8) 66/1(+47%) | (8) Go On Chez 66/1, Back-to-back hunter winner last spring. Jumped right and folded quite tamely, even allowing for fact he may have needed the run on last month's return to action for new handler. Doesn't always look straightforward. Excuses at Fakenham last time but his overall form credentials are not persuasive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Bardenstown Lad |
(4) 66/1(-100%) | (4) Bardenstown Lad 66/1, Winner of a handicap hurdle and maiden chase for Gavin Cromwell at Kilbeggan in 2024 and displayed a willing attitude from the front when landing 5-runner hunter for new yard last month. This a different examination. Won a point and a hunter chase within the space of 12 days last month; lots more required. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Angels Breath |
(2) 66/1(-32%) | (2) Angels Breath 66/1, Ended last season with a heavy defeat in the Martin Pipe but having warmed up with a run between the flags in December, he made a winning reappearance for new yard back chasing in a Taunton hunter (21.7f) in January. Disappointing at Ffos Las since. Hammered by Shearer at Ffos Las when heavy ground was no excuse. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Plan Of Attack |
(15) 66/1(-32%) | (15) Plan Of Attack 66/1, Very useful chaser at his peak for leading yard. Didn't really take to the cross-country discipline in 2023 but fit from a point win last month. Jury out as to how much ability he retains. Has been holding his own in points but he's no longer the force of old; opposable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Haven't Time |
(9) 66/1(0%) | (9) Haven't Time 66/1, Won a Southwell hunter this time last year and stuck to his task really well when second to Shearer having made a bad mistake at Taunton last month. Should stay this far but huge career best required. Has the form to run a good race but he's an 11yo now and doesn't rate a likely winner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Carnfunnock |
(5) 100/1(-203%) | (5) Carnfunnock 100/1, Fairly useful hurdles winner who has made an encouraging start over fences, making the frame at Down Royal (19.7f) in May before bumping into a good prospect at Wexford. Won 2 of last 3 starts in points but this a tough ask tackling a new trip. Had to dig pretty deep to win this year's two points in Ireland; shouldn't be good enough. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() West Of Carrig |
(20) 125/1(-213%) | (20) West Of Carrig 125/1, Surpassed hurdles form in this code this winter with a brace of third-place finishes this winter. 16-length winner of a point last month and he's unexposed, but this is a tall order. Has won his last two points but he's punching above his weight in this company. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Take All |
(19) 125/1(-150%) | (19) Take All 125/1, Useful chaser in Ireland at his peak and confirmed he retains a chunk of his ability when second on hunter debut at Taunton in January. Won a point after but failed to jump with much fluency back under Rules at Haydock last month. Up in trip. Recent point winner but beaten in hunter chases on either side of that; this looks tough. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() D'jango |
(6) 150/1(0%) | (6) D'jango 150/1, Had plenty of exposure over fences and won a hunter for this yard in January 2024. Mixed bag since but he did finish fourth at huge odds in this a year ago. Well-held fourth 12 months ago; returns on the back of some underwhelming efforts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Lisleigh Lad |
(12) 200/1(-100%) | (12) Lisleigh Lad 200/1, Lightly-raced 7-y-o who got off the mark in 6-runner hunter at Fairyhouse in November. Held back by jumping 2 months later and this a different environment to what he's used to. Behind Willitgoahead last time and has little hope of reversing those placings. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Au Fleuron |
(3) 200/1(+0%) | (3) Au Fleuron 200/1, Fairly useful hurdler for Gordon Elliott and a point winner, but little to shout about of late. He has no realistic chance here on what he's achieved in Irish points; new yard. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
ANGELS DAWN brings a high level of form to the table having landed the Kim Muir in 2023 before falling two out last year when arriving to challenge Gold Cup contender Inothewayurthinkin. A comfortable winner of a point-to-point in December, the daughter of Yeats may prefer softer ground but her class can see her through to a second Festival success. Runner-up last year as a short-priced favourite, Its On The Line has plenty of ground to make up with the reopposing Ryehill from their clash at Naas last month, but he has the services of Derek O'Connor and that's a big positive around here. Well backed in the lead up to this race, Willitgoahead looks to have been laid out for this having joined Gordon Elliott since impressing over 3m1f at Thurles in January. Of the British contingent, Music Drive is unbeaten in point-to-points since joining the Kelly Morgan stable and is one to consider, along with course winner Shearer, who is on a five-timer.
ANGELS DAWN is the class act and her Cheltenham Festival form under Patrick King stacks up, having been successful in the 2023 Kim Muir over C&D and in the process of running well when departing 2 out bidding for the follow-up last year. She ticks all the boxes and can come out on top. Willitgoahead is unexposed and very interesting for Gordon Elliott after his Thurles success. C&D winner Fairly Famous is a player at bigger odds while Its On The Line, second in 2023 and 2024, must be feared.
It could be third-time lucky in this race for ITS ON THE LINE who has been second the last two years. Angels Dawn is solid.

![]() I'll Give It A Go |
(5) 2/1(-6%) | (5) I'll Give It A Go 2/1, Improved on debut form when second of 9 in maiden at Lingfield (8f, AW) 9 days ago, not knocked about. Open to further progress. Runner-up in both starts, over C&D on debut and behind a hotpot latest; solid contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Daddy Chill |
(2) 5/2(+55%) | (2) Daddy Chill 5/2, Offered something to work on when third of 13 in novice at Chelmsford City (8f, 11/1) on debut 15 days ago. Open to progress. Remote third on debut but the first two are promising; can do better with that behind him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() My Kind Of Way |
(4) 13/2(+54%) | (4) My Kind Of Way 13/2, 10,000 gns yearling, Kameko colt. Closely related to 1m-1¼m winner Maderas. Dam, 2-y-o 6f winner, half-sister to useful winner up to 1m System. Worth a market check. 10,000gns yearling; closely related to a winner in Spain out of useful mare; check market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Live Aid |
(1) 17/2(-13%) | (1) Live Aid 17/2, Showed a bit in bumpers and left his first effort in this sphere well behind when second of 7 in maiden (100/1) at Newcastle (8f) 22 days ago. Second at Newcastle when 100-1 last month (1m); can do better but needs to. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Dance No More |
(6) 18/1(+64%) | (6) Dance No More 18/1, 12,000 gns 2-y-o, Ghaiyyath filly. Half-sister to 3 winners, including 1m winner Tell William and 6f winner Wrought Iron. 12,000gns half-sister to three winners; doesn't have a demanding standard to aim at. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Grande Armee |
(7) 66/1(+34%) | (7) Grande Armee 66/1, 80/1, very green when eighth of 13 in novice at Chelmsford City (8f) on debut 15 days ago, slowly away. Debut effort not devoid of promise but she looks one for further down the line. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Wayward Daughter |
(8) 150/1(-50%) | (8) Wayward Daughter 150/1, 150/1, ninth of 10 in novice at this course (7.1f) on debut 14 days ago. 150-1 when always in rear over 7f here two weeks ago; one for the longer term. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Live Aid led for a while when runner-up at 100/1 over 1m at Newcastle last month, but failed to beat a rival home over this C&D the time before and FULFORD CROSS looks a much more reliable option. David Simcock's gelding did well to finish within a head of the winner after a slow start on his debut over 7f at Kempton, an experience that won't have been lost on him and this extra furlong should really suit on that evidence. Second on both starts to date, including over this track and trip first time out, I'll Give It A Go also warrants consideration.
FULFORD CROSS showed plenty of ability despite inexperience and a less-than-ideal position when second at Kempton on his debut last month, so he has to be considered the one to beat with improvement on the cards. I'll Give It A Go should do better again, with Daddy Chill likely to take a step forward from his initial outing.
Fulford Cross was eyecatching on debut but Daddy Chill and I'LL GIVE IT A GO may have his measure this time.

![]() Go Go Geronimo |
(4) SP(+100%) | (4) Go Go Geronimo SP, Multiple point winner who posted fairly useful form when runner-up in a pair of hunters in early 2022. Not at that level when third at Stratford last May but arrives in form from points and probably the one to beat. Never misses the first three when completing; easiest task in a hunter chase to date.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Amenon |
(2) SP(+100%) | (2) Amenon SP, Fair hurdler/chaser at best. Lost his way in Ireland but found a weak race to open his account in this sphere at Huntingdon (3m, good to soft) last May. Should be sharper for a recent run in a point. Showed little at Charm Park on recent return; likelier one for later on this spring.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Cooldine Bog |
(3) SP(+100%) | (3) Cooldine Bog SP, Won a small-field point last month but has struggled to make an impact in hunters and could only manage a well-held fifth at Leicester last Friday. All out to snap very long losing run last month; tailed off in a hunter chase since.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Janika |
(1) SP(+100%) | (1) Janika SP, Useful hurdler/chaser for Nicky Henderson who won on C&D hunter debut in April 2023. Pulled up in this race last year on his only subsequent start under Rules but he did win a point 19 days ago. C&D winner in 2023 (soft); recent 2m4f point score on easier ground than may await here.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Although JANIKA was pulled up in last year's renewal, he faces a much easier assignment this time round. The 12-year-old arrives on the back of a point-to-point victory, and a seventh success under Rules is on the cards. Go Go Geronimo wasn't disgraced when finishing third in the Champion Novices' Hunters' Chase at Stratford last May and a reproduction of recent efforts between the flags should see him involved. Amenon can chase them home.
GO GO GERONIMO has been in reasonable form in the pointing field lately and can make it fifth time lucky in hunters, most likely at the main expense of former C&D scorer Janika.
A hunter chase victory for the super-consistent front-runner GO GO GERONIMO over locally trained Janika would not be out of turn.

![]() Jaffa Cake |
(2) 15/8(+6%) | (2) Jaffa Cake 15/8, Order of St George gelding. Half-brother to useful 2m hurdler/chaser Tetlami. Dam 1¼m winner. Of plenty of interest for yard capable of readying a newcomer. Half-brother to a useful bumper and 2m hurdle/chase winner; interesting newcomer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Noble George |
(4) 11/4(+17%) | (4) Noble George 11/4, Offered something to work on when second in a Sedgefield bumper on debut and ran to similar level when filling the same position at Carlisle last month, collared inside the final 1f. Can make another bold bid. Runner-up in bumpers at Sedgefield and Carlisle; hood now tried; sets the standard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Known Warrior |
(3) 5/1(+80%) | (3) Known Warrior 5/1, €65,000 3-y-o, Karaktar gelding. Half-brother to fair hurdler/chase winner Jouster. Dam, French bumper winner, half-sister to useful hurdler/chaser (stays 21f) Cut The Mustard. Fourth on completed start in Irish points (Dec 2024). Has had wind op ahead of Rules debut. Fourth in an Irish point in December; wind op since; rules debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Queen Kate |
(7) 6/1(+0%) | (7) Queen Kate 6/1, Frontiersman mare. Half-sister to bumper winner/fair 23f hurdle winner King Roly. Dam (h108) bumper/3m hurdle winner. One to note if the market speaks in her favour. Half-sister to a bumper/2m7f hurdle winner; worth a market check on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Dartmouth Castle |
(1) 10/1(-150%) | (1) Dartmouth Castle 10/1, Dartmouth gelding. Dam (h106) 2m hurdle winner, also 7.4f-8.6f winner on Flat. Shortlisted for trainer who enjoys success in this sphere. Home-bred by Dartmouth out of 7.5f/9f Flat winner (also won over 2m over hurdles); debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Roll Tide |
(5) 14/1(+58%) | (5) Roll Tide 14/1, Telescope gelding. Half-brother to useful chaser Numitor. Dam (b74) ran twice in bumpers. May just be one for the longer term. Half-brother to useful chase winner; stable's newcomers usually come on for a run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Brooklynese |
(6) 20/1(-186%) | (6) Brooklynese 20/1, Scorpion mare. Dam, fair hurdler (2m winner, stayed 2½m), half-sister to bumper winner/fairly useful hurdler (2m winner) Steel City. Runner-up on first of 2 starts in point bumpers, so she could be in the mix. Second in a point bumper at Alnwick on debut; not so good next time; this is stronger.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
NOBLE GEORGE has shown ability when finishing second on both of his starts to date and he is likely to have more improvement in him. The five-year-old sports a first-time hood and could put his experience to good use. 90,000-euro purchase Jaffa Cake is half-brother to useful bumper winner Tetlami and will need to be monitored in the market with David Bass booked for his debut. Brooklynese completes the shortlist.
JAFFA CAKE makes plenty of appeal on paper and, representing a yard that does well in bumpers, he could be up to making a winning debut. He is preferred to Noble George, who has shown encouragement when finishing runner-up both starts so far, while Dartmouth Castle is another newcomer to consider.
Although Noble George sets the standard, the Ben Pauling-trained newcomer JAFFA CAKE is taken to make a winning debut.

![]() Hightimeyouwon |
(1) 5/6(-25%) | (1) Hightimeyouwon 5/6, Useful gelding. 4-time course winner. Not seen to best effect when eighth of 11 in handicap (9/2) at this course (8f) 21 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Hard to beat on these terms. Nine-time winner up to 1m; should be too good for these provided he lasts the trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Darkened |
(5) 11/2(-10%) | (5) Darkened 11/2, Fair gelding. Improved on recent efforts to win 14-runner handicap at this C&D (6/1) 21 days ago, keeping on well. Respected. Has plenty to find with Hightimeyouwon but can be in the mix for the placings. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Comfort Line |
(3) 6/1(+20%) | (3) Comfort Line 6/1, Fair gelding. 5-time course winner. Three wins from 24 runs last year. 4/1, creditable second of 10 in handicap at this course (8f) 7 days ago, nearest finish. Significantly back up in trip. Respected. Has a fair bit to find with Hightimeyouwon on these terms; has run well over this trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Signor Ferrari |
(2) 6/1(+25%) | (2) Signor Ferrari 6/1, Fairly useful gelding. C&D winner. Latest win here in February. Respectable 8¼ lengths sixth of 14 to Darkened in handicap at this C&D (4/1) 21 days ago, doing too much too soon. Poor run behind Darkened last time; has a tough task at the weights with that rival today. |

(4) 13/2(+46%) | (4) Cousin Shay 13/2, Fair gelding. 5-time course winner. Latest win here in January. Respectable seventh of 12 in handicap at Southwell (8.1f, 8/1) 20 days ago. Significantly back up in trip. Below form back at 1m the last twice and has loads to find with Hightimeyouwon. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Streetscape |
(9) 20/1(+70%) | (9) Streetscape 20/1, Modest gelding. Remains a maiden after 18 Flat runs. Blinkered for 1st time, bit below form 10½ lengths eighth of 14 to Darkened in handicap at this C&D (12/1) 21 days ago. Poor in blinkers last time but left off today; plenty to find with the best of these. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Man Is King |
(11) 40/1(-21%) | (11) Man Is King 40/1, Fair gelding. Remains a maiden after 29 Flat runs. 33/1, creditable 4 lengths sixth of 13 to Hightimeyouwon in claimer at this course (8f) 28 days ago, going off too hard. Significantly up in trip. Consistent in defeat this winter until two lesser runs lately; has a bit to find. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Shining Aitch |
(6) 66/1(+0%) | (6) Shining Aitch 66/1, Modest gelding. C&D winner. Twelve runs since last win in 2024. 40/1, ninth of 13 in handicap at this C&D 42 days ago. Below form on last number of starts so isn't easy to fancy on these terms today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Magyar |
(10) 200/1(-100%) | (10) Magyar 200/1, 150/1, eleventh of 12 in claimer at Tipperary (7.5f, good). Off 21 months. Significantly up in trip. Rejoined yard after leaving PaulJohnGilligan. Hooded for 1st time. Poor form for different trainers and can't be fancied. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
HIGHTIMEYOUWON takes a step into the unknown over this trip but is very well treated at the weights. The Stephen Thorne-trained gelding has been in good form this year winning twice, the latest when beating Comfort Line by just over a length in a mile claimer, and he now meets that rival on considerably better terms. The dual purpose Darkened comes here in good form having recorded a seventh career win with an easy C&D success last month, with the hat-trick seeking Signor Ferrari over eight lengths adrift. Cousin Shay has progressed well since joining Natalia Lupini last autumn winning three times at this venue.
An excellent opportunity for HIGHTIMEYOUWON to resume winning ways on these terms. Comfort Line and Darkened can fill the places.
Even though HIGHTIMEYOUWON is unproven over this trip it is difficult to oppose him, so much has he in hand over these.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
HOODIE HOO displayed plenty of promise when a close third on his racecourse bow at Windsor in July and he merits plenty of respect on his return to action. Dream Out Loud only found one too good on his debut at Southwell last month and Andrew Balding's gelding should not be discounted. Any market support for Topwarrior or Blue Rc would have to be noted.
HOODIE HOO showed plenty when a close third at Windsor in the summer and sets a clear standard. Dream Out Loud was unable to land a gamble at Southwell on debut but still offered something to work on, while Topwarrior and Blue Rc are a couple of interesting newcomers.
Hoodie Hoo sets the standard among those with experience, but the well-related TOPWARRIOR is the one who most draws the eye.

![]() Kopeck De Mee |
(8) 5/2(+0%) | (8) Kopeck De Mee 5/2, Progressive over hurdles in France last spring, completing a hat-trick when driven 4½ lengths clear in 2¼m Auteuil listed race last May. Subsequently purchased by J P McManus and seemingly saved for this day since. No surprise were he to be well ahead of his mark . Progressive in France (won last three races); very interesting on debut for Willie Mullins. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() East India Express |
(22) 4/1(+67%) | (22) East India Express 4/1, Lightly-raced 5-y-o who returned to win twice in quick succession around 21f at Ascot and Kempton (both good to soft) in December. Has seemingly been kept fresh for this since. Likely type and part of a strong hand for his stable. 2-2 since switched to handicap level, both wins in December; open to further improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Wodhooh |
(2) 9/2(+0%) | (2) Wodhooh 9/2, Unbeaten in 6 runs over hurdles since joining this yard, making light of an 11-month absence as she came clear readily in mares' handicap over C&D in December. Presumably saved for this since and can make a bold bid for 7 in a row. Scored over C&D in sole start this season and that form is very strong; 6-6 over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Taponthego |
(9) 8/1(+20%) | (9) Taponthego 8/1, Useful form, winning a 20.5f Tipperary maiden in November and good placed efforts on his next 2 starts. Below par when 24 lengths third in 2m Punchestown listed novice last month but this step back up in trip should suit now handicapping. Should relish this step back up in trip; solid form in two attempts over 2m4f; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() No Ordinary Joe |
(3) 11/1(+8%) | (3) No Ordinary Joe 11/1, Lightly raced 9-y-o who was second in this in 2023 and shaped a lot better than result when seventh 12 months ago. Latest 21f Warwick fourth suggests he's coming to the boil again. Worth chancing in a first-time tongue tie. Second off 1lb higher in this race in 2023 and had an excuse last year; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Nurse Susan |
(13) 16/1(+60%) | (13) Nurse Susan 16/1, Lightly raced but talented mare, returning from an absence to win handicaps over C&D and at Lingfield (23f) last winter. Off a further 13 months but still no surprise were she to make her presence felt. Record of 2-2 since handicapping includes a C&D win; absent for 14 months. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Minella Sixo |
(5) 22/1(-38%) | (5) Minella Sixo 22/1, Maiden/novice hurdle winner who recorded good placed efforts in a pair of Graded novices in December. Fourth when falling 3 out on 3m Haydock handicap debut 4 weeks ago. The drop in trip isn't sure to suit but still not discounted. Faller last time; consistent otherwise; solid second in sole Cheltenham attempt; player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Karafon |
(10) 25/1(-127%) | (10) Karafon 25/1, French recruit who returned from 11 months off to open his account at Clonmel in December. Ran to similar level when fourth in Grade 1 novice at Leopardstown in December but well beaten in a similar race there at the Dublin Racing Festival. Steps back up in trip for handicap debut. Back down in class after two Grade 1 defeats; may show progress on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Park Of Kings |
(16) 25/1(-56%) | (16) Park Of Kings 25/1, Winner over 2½m at Gowran in October and even better form when runner-up in listed handicaps at Naas and Leopardstown (both 2½m again) at the end of 2024. Presumably saved for this since and got to be high on the shortlist. Good second in Listed handicaps the last twice, finishing strongly at Leopardstown latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() The Enabler |
(6) 25/1(-39%) | (6) The Enabler 25/1, Fairly useful hurdler, winning a 2½m maiden at the Leopardstown Christmas meeting. Well beaten in a 2m handicap there at the Dublin Racing Festival but this return to a longer trip may see him in a better light. Scored over 2m4f on penultimate outing but was all out and only just held on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Raglan Road |
(17) 25/1(+50%) | (17) Raglan Road 25/1, Improved to win a 19f Naas handicap last March. Pulled up at Fairyhouse final start but made a sound return to action with a tongue tie added (off now) when fifth of 19 at Navan (2½m) in January. Not fully exposed. Encouraging form in two handicaps at this sort of distance; still unexposed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() No Questions Asked |
(4) 28/1(-12%) | (4) No Questions Asked 28/1, Point winner who showed useful form in bumpers last term and has won 3 of his 5 starts in novice hurdles this winter. Unexposed now moving into his first handicap but this demands further improvement. Seems harshly treated, having been put up 14lb for his Listed effort two starts ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Act Of Authority |
(12) 28/1(+30%) | (12) Act Of Authority 28/1, Three-time winner as a novice and improved again to land 2½m handicaps at Sandown and Wetherby within the space of 6 days in November. Creditable efforts in defeat at Aintree and Warwick since. Possible a big-field scenario will suit this hold-up performer. Has a solid record under Lewis Saunders but faces a tougher task in this field. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Electric Mason |
(15) 33/1(+0%) | (15) Electric Mason 33/1, Bumper winner who has landed maiden/novice hurdles at Fontwell this winter. Useful effort when 9 lengths fifth of 7 in Grade 1 Challow at Newbury (20.5f, good to soft) in December. Potential improver in handicaps. Raised a total of 15lb for two Newbury efforts that may not be entirely solid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Doyen Quest |
(14) 40/1(+20%) | (14) Doyen Quest 40/1, Improved again when landing a 3m course handicap in November but found out off marks in the 130s 3 times since. Needs to find some improvement for first-time cheekpieces. Disappointing last time; headgear now applied; difficult task off current mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Punctuation |
(19) 40/1(+20%) | (19) Punctuation 40/1, Five-time hurdle winner for Fergal O'Brien and ended his time with that yard with victory in 2m Flat handicap at Goodwood last May. Has started out for Nicky Henderson with creditable in-frame efforts at Doncaster (19.5f) and Kempton (21f) in recent months. Encouraging effort last time; won a race of this nature at Aintree two years ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Tounsivator |
(1) 50/1(+0%) | (1) Tounsivator 50/1, Saw off Tuesday's Supreme third Romeo Coolio to win the Grade 2 Royal Bond at Fairyhouse in December. Has only managed midfield finishes in a couple of hot Leopardstown handicaps since and will require a really smart effort under top weight. Interesting on his 2m Grade 2 win but failed to convince with stamina in sole 2m4f run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Uncle Bert |
(7) 50/1(+0%) | (7) Uncle Bert 50/1, Useful hurdler who has done his winning on soft/heavy ground. including over 3m at Haydock in January. Creditable fifth of 13 back there (3m again) since but it underlines that he needs more off this mark. Record of 3-7 under James Turner but has to overcome a career-high mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Mordor |
(21) 66/1(+34%) | (21) Mordor 66/1, In good form in the summer, winning 2 hurdles and a Flat maiden. Didn't appear to stay 3m in a handicap at the Dublin Racing Festival on last month's return from a break. Should find this test more suitable. The form of his summer wins is a world away from Cheltenham Festival standard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Stormbreaker |
(20) 80/1(-60%) | (20) Stormbreaker 80/1, Lightly-raced winner over hurdles. Good second in 19f Punchestown handicap at the turn of the year and possibly unsuited by the drop to 2m when well held in Leopardstown handicap last month. Lacked fluency and ran poorly in Dublin Racing Festival handicap (2m) last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Push The Button |
(11) 80/1(-21%) | (11) Push The Button 80/1, Bumper winner and went 2-3 in novice hurdles last season. Has struggled for consistency in handicaps this time round but his penultimate 3m Windsor second is solid form. Inconsistent this term but it's worth nothing that he's 2-2 under Finn Lambert. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Harsh |
(23) 100/1(-52%) | (23) Harsh 100/1, Some decent efforts in handicaps to end 2024 but needs to shrug off 2 poor runs last month. The stable has more obvious candidates elsewhere. Fourth in the 4yo handicap here last year; inconsistent since joining current yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Wilde About Oscar |
(24) 150/1(-50%) | (24) Wilde About Oscar 150/1, Useful at his best for Dan Skelton butt well beaten in France in June 2023 (only run for Rebecca Menzies) and not seen since. Has cheekpieces and a tongue tie combined for the first time. Would be a shock winner. Absent since June 2023; makes debut for new stable; best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Flash Collonges |
(18) 150/1(-88%) | (18) Flash Collonges 150/1, Useful chase winner for Paul Nicholls in March 2023 but lost his way badly last season and has plenty to prove back hurdling for new yard after 11 months off. Lost his form over fences last term for Paul Nicholls; belated reappearance. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
Kopeck De Mee might well be the next potential star performer to emerge from a contest that has thrown up Galopin Des Champs (2021) and Banbridge (2022) in recent seasons. All of his hurdle runs to date have come in France and the handicapper is taking a big chance with a mark of 136. The vote, though, goes to WODHOOH after she maintained her unbeaten record over hurdles over C&D in December when proving too strong for subsequent William Hill Hurdle winner Joyeuse and Take No Chances, who placed in the Mares Hurdle earlier in the week. Connections thought about supplementing her for the latter contest, so the fact they have opted to remain in handicaps suggests there could be further improvement to come. East India Express and 2023 runner-up No Ordinary Joe are both of huge interest with the former seeking a hat-trick following a quick-fire double at Ascot and Kempton in December. The latter warmed up for this with an eye-catching fourth at Warwick.
NO ORDINARY JOE has shaped well in the last 2 runnings of this and is selected to make it third time lucky. His ownermate Kopeck de Mee is very much an unknown quantity and it would be no surprise were he to be well ahead of his mark. Park of Kings completes a very strong hand for J P McManus and is next on the list ahead of the unbeaten Wodhooh and the selection's stablemate East India Express.
Kopeck De Mee and Wodhooh are highly obvious players. TAPONTHEGO and Minella Sixo are interesting alternatives.

(1) 17/2(+58%) | (1) Cantalice 17/2, €32,000 Cracksman half-sister to 16.2f/16.5f winner Zephlyn and 1m-11f winner Thunder Girl. Dam, 13.3f winner, closely related to smart 7f-9f winner Baraweez. The fitting of headgear on debut is always offputting but still worth a precautionary betting check. 32,000euros half-sister to three winners; bred to stay well but wears blinkers on debut. |

![]() Dojin |
(2) 10/1(+38%) | (2) Dojin 10/1, 50/1, third of 13 in novice at Chelmsford (1m) on debut 85 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Open to progress. Third behind two useful males at Chelmsford in December (1m); should stay; can do better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Lady Odette |
(4) 10/1(+44%) | (4) Lady Odette 10/1, Twice-raced maiden. Stepped up on debut when a fair third at Chelmsford (1¼m) 29 days ago but this demands more again. Promise in both runs (1m and 1m2f) this year; form claims but vulnerable to improvers. |

![]() Kintbury |
(3) 12/1(-33%) | (3) Kintbury 12/1, 10/1, third of 8 in maiden (10/1) at Wolverhampton (9.5f) on debut 25 days ago. In good hands and may well do better. Promise when 3rd over 9.5f on last month's debut; can do better but progress is a must. |

![]() Maundy Thursday |
(5) 50/1(+24%) | (5) Maundy Thursday 50/1, 18/1, eighth of 9 in novice at this course (1m) on debut 30 days ago, very slowly away. Significantly up in trip. Step up in trip should suit but others bring more compelling claims. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Charlie Appleby has an impressive 32 per cent strike-rate at this venue in the last five years and he saddles newcomer Wishful Spirit, a full-sister to a dual 7f juvenile winner, and Romantic Opera. The latter found one too good when sent off at odds-on over this trip at Kempton last time and could be worth another chance, but ZABEEL RAIN made eye-catching late headway when fifth over a mile here last month and she is perhaps the most interesting now stepped up in trip. Dojin also looked in need of further when third over 1m on debut.
Godolphin may dominate, with ROMANTIC OPERA, the mount of William Buick, taken to get the better of newcomer Wishful Spirit. Kintbury looks best of the remainder.
Dojin looks a likely big improver but the newcomer WISHFUL SPIRIT is bred to be useful and can make a winning start to her career.

DOCTOR GRACE has gained two of her three career wins at this venue and is slipping down the ratings to a competitive mark. She has lost ground at the start on both outings since joining Ado McGuinness this year but has still shaped quite well and had both Latin and Spirit Of Paradise behind when fourth to Tara Power last time. Guest Star opened his account over C&D last time in a claimer for Mark Fahey, while any market move for top-weight Metamorpheus would be interesting. There isn't much to choose between Hope And Innocence and Saxon Kingdom on running behind Little Keilee over a mile here last month but both are unlikely to appreciate this longer trip.
Low mileage 7-y-o SAY YOU'RE SORRY had been shaping well here when last seen in the summer and has been given a chance by the handicapper if ready to go. Doctor Grace and Saxon Kingdom are feared most.
An opportunity perhaps for LATIN to make the breakthrough and confirm recent form with Doctor Grace

![]() Our 'enery |
(2) 13/8(+46%) | (2) Our 'enery 13/8, Sea The Stars colt cost 140,000 gns as a yearling and likely needed the run when showing some ability in a decent maiden at Newmarket (1m, soft) back in October. There could well be improvement to come on reappearance and he is bred to appreciate this longer trip. 140,000gns yearling who shaped fairly in one run last autumn; bred for this sort of trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Padre Bay |
(3) 5/2(+100%) | (3) Padre Bay 5/2, Teofilo gelding. Dam, ran once in France, half-sister to top-class winner up to 1½m Adayar (won Derby/King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes), out of smart French 1m winner Anna Salai, herself runner-up in Irish 1000 Guineas. Top-class pedigree and makes plenty of appeal on racecourse bow. Gelded second foal of a half-sister to Derby winner Adayar; a likely looking newcomer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Atlantic Sunset |
(1) 9/2(-13%) | (1) Atlantic Sunset 9/2, Thrice-raced maiden has benefitted from step up in trip and addition of blinkers on previous couple of starts, only better by a useful prospect when second of 5 in novice (11/1) at Southwell (12.1f) 35 days ago. One to be interested in. Twice well beaten by stablemates of Padre Bay this year; could well be the same again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Wise Counsellor |
(4) 18/1(-100%) | (4) Wise Counsellor 18/1, Nathaniel gelding was sent off at long odds for his debut but did show some ability when sixth of 10 in novice at Southwell (11.1f) 2 weeks ago, likely would have benefitted from a stronger gallop. This greater test of stamina should suit and entitled to step forward on his second racecourse outing. 50-1 for his recent Southwell debut; Our 'Enery looks his trainer's best chance. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Atlantic Sunset is likely to be in the mix once again but he could be vulnerable having been a well-held second on his last two starts. With that in mind, preference is for OUR 'ENERY, who showed ability when fifth on debut in a decent novice event at Newmarket in October. Padre Bay has already been gelded but should not be underestimated on his racecourse bow.
PADRE BAY makes plenty of appeal on paper and this well-bred son of Teofilo may not have to be anything out of the ordinary to take this 4-runner contest on racecourse debut. Atlantic Sunset sets the standard of those with experience and could be a big danger with some creditable recent runs under his belt, while the once-raced Our Enery is an interesting contender who may well improve now stepped up in distance.
Our 'Enery shaped fairly on debut, but PADRE BAY may well be able to further boost Charlie Appleby's impressive 2025 strike-rate.

![]() The Organiser |
(1) 8/13(+65%) | (1) The Organiser 8/13, Fair ex-Irish winner who capitalised on a reduced mark for his new yard in 9-runner handicap over C&D 3 days ago. Saddles a 5 lb penalty but remains handily weighted on past exploits. Big shout. C&D 0-72 scorer on Tuesday night's stable/Tapeta debut; player if over those exertions. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() King Of York |
(9) 11/2(+15%) | (9) King Of York 11/2, 9/1, improved on recent efforts to gain a third C&D win in 9-runner handicap 21 days ago by 2¾ lengths from Billy Mcgarry. Must enter calculations. Mowed down Billy McGarry latest (C&D); still 11lb lower than for 2024 win in this race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Billy Mcgarry |
(10) 17/2(-6%) | (10) Billy Mcgarry 17/2, Course winner who recorded a creditable 2¾ lengths second of 9 to King of York in handicap over C&D 21 days ago. One for the shortlist. 6lb swing (ignoring claims that day) with King Of York for almost 3l latest (C&D); chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Serenity Dream |
(2) 10/1(+17%) | (2) Serenity Dream 10/1, 14/1, eleventh of 12 in handicap at this course (8.1f) 20 days ago. Others have achieved more. Player on form of two Tapeta efforts before Christmas, but not so on more recent evidence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Soames Forsyte |
(3) 12/1(-20%) | (3) Soames Forsyte 12/1, C&D winner. Latest win here in February. Below-par third of 5 in handicap (7/4) at this C&D 14 days ago so needs to bounce back. Would not settle over C&D latest, but race not run to suit; remains of interest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Emily Post |
(6) 12/1(+14%) | (6) Emily Post 12/1, Sixteen runs since last win in 2023. Creditable fourth of 12 in handicap at this C&D (9/1) 10 days ago. Can make her presence felt. Outran her mark despite pace bias against her over C&D latest; turn inching closer again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Thanks Dad |
(8) 20/1(-67%) | (8) Thanks Dad 20/1, Visored for 1st time, good third of 9 in handicap at this C&D (9/1) 36 days ago. Needs considering. Back on track with a close C&D third in first-time visor latest; enters calculations. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Blufferonthebus |
(4) 40/1(-186%) | (4) Blufferonthebus 40/1, Three wins from 16 runs last year. Good second of 6 in claimer (7/4) at Leicester (7f, heavy). Off 137 days but not ruled out. Mark 3lb above last winning one seems conquerable; eyecatching 6f fourth here a year ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Embarked |
(11) 50/1(+0%) | (11) Embarked 50/1, C&D winner. Only sixth of 9 to King of York in handicap at this C&D 21 days ago. Blinkers back on. Eleven runs since last win in 2024. 10lb below last winning mark (C&D), but needs returning blinkers to provoke a revival. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Guy Fawkes |
(5) 66/1(-164%) | (5) Guy Fawkes 66/1, 14/1 and tongue strap on for 1st time, first run since leaving George Scott when last of 5 in handicap at this C&D 14 days ago. Can give a good account if shrugging off latest effort. Yet to reproduce level of C&D novice debut win of late 2023; behind Soames Forsyte latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Woodleigh |
(7) 100/1(-150%) | (7) Woodleigh 100/1, 12/1, seventh of 8 in handicap at this C&D 43 days ago. Has work to do. Best Tapeta RPR is 16lb shy of the turf equivalent; refused to settle again latest (C&D). |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Now that KING OF YORK has regained the winning thread after a taking performance over C&D last month, Scott Dixon's charge looks capable of going in again off 6lb higher, with Kieran O'Neill getting the mount this time around. Only beaten a neck when last seen at Leicester in October, Blufferonthebus is one to consider on her return, while The Organiser is turned out again quickly under a 5lb penalty after scoring over C&D on Tuesday.
THE ORGANISER made the perfect start for Ed Bethell when going in over C&D only three days ago and can make light of a 5 lb penalty. Fellow C&D scorer King of York appeals as the one to chase him home ahead of Emily Post, Billy McGarry and Thanks Dad.
If The Organiser isn't over Tuesday's exertions, KING OF YORK could follow up 2024's race win ahead of stablemate Thanks Dad.

(5) 5/2(+25%) | (5) Theophilos 5/2, Good second of 7 in handicap at this C&D (8/1) 21 days ago, just failing. Big shout. Just denied over C&D last month; holds Pavilion End on that run so big chance. |

(1) 3/1(-9%) | (1) Pavilion End 3/1, C&D winner in January. 6/4, fourth of 7 in handicap at this C&D 21 days ago, suited by drop back in trip. Can go well. Left with fair bit to do when fourth over this trip latest; down in grade and respected. |

![]() Pearl Jewel |
(4) 3/1(+60%) | (4) Pearl Jewel 3/1, C&D winner. Winner here in November. Good third of 6 in handicap at this course (16f, 11/2) 35 days ago. Back down in trip. C&D winner closely matched with Pavilion End on 2m run since. |

![]() Migdam |
(3) 13/2(+46%) | (3) Migdam 13/2, Course winner. 33/1, seventh of 11 in handicap at this course (8f) 21 days ago. Significantly back up in trip. Four wins all over shorter; hasn't convinced at this trip in the past, opposable. |

![]() Polemon |
(2) 12/1(-140%) | (2) Polemon 12/1, Cheekpieces on for 1st time in this code, bit below form fifth of 18 in novice hurdle at Leopardstown (16f, good to soft, 5/1) 12 days ago. One to consider back on the level under 10 lb claimer. 0-9 on AW but couple of decent C&D runs over the winter; claims. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
THEOPHILOS won over 1m1f for Johnny Murtagh and was campaigned over hurdles after joining Gerry Keane last summer until placed on both outings here this year. The selection was only just touched off by Sir Callisto over C&D last month with Pavilion End nearly three lengths back in fourth. Gracesolution made a promising return to the Polytrack when third to Koniag over 1m4f in January and any progress from that run would see her go close, while Pearl Jewel won a maiden over C&D on her penultimate start and may have found two miles just a shade too far last time.
THEOPHILOS was denied a first victory in almost 2 years on the nod in a C&D handicap 3 weeks ago and can go one better. Pavilion End wasn't far behind him on that occasion and should be in the mix again. Gracesolution is another to note.
GRACESOLUTION (nap) ran a fine race on her comeback, form which is working out well, and gets the vote over Theophilos

![]() Tempus |
(3) 15/8(+53%) | (3) Tempus 15/8, C&D winner. Twenty four runs since last win in 2022. 7/1, again not seen to best effect when last of 8 in handicap at Chelmsford City (8f) 15 days ago, slowly away. Cheekpieces back on. Becoming well treated. Losing run now stands at 24 but is undeniably well handicapped having been dropped 4lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Bravo Zulu |
(2) 5/2(+25%) | (2) Bravo Zulu 5/2, Three wins from 11 runs last year. Cheekpieces on for 1st time, career best when winning 9-runner handicap (9/2) at Lingfield (8f, AW) 26 days ago, better placed than most. 3 from 3 for this rider. Currently 5-11 on the AW and 3-5 in headgear; shows a good attitude and is shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Hitched |
(4) 4/1(+27%) | (4) Hitched 4/1, C&D winner. Fourth of 6 in handicap (7/4) at Southwell (12.1f) 14 days ago, unsuited by way race developed. Back down in trip. Can give a good account. Enjoyed a good winter, winning four times and going 20lb up the weights; needs more again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Pearl Eye |
(1) 15/2(+32%) | (1) Pearl Eye 15/2, Course winner. 8/1, fifth of 8 in handicap at Haydock (8.2f, heavy), merely passing beaten rivals. Off 147 days. Cheekpieces back on. Others more persuasive. Goes well fresh and is ideally suited by easy, left-handed courses; is one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Urban Road |
(6) 15/2(-67%) | (6) Urban Road 15/2, 7/2, career best when winning 9-runner handicap at this course (9.5f) 18 days ago, easily. Can make presence felt. Goes up in class tonight as he chases a four-timer off a 6lb higher mark; more needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Eden Storm |
(7) 12/1(-20%) | (7) Eden Storm 12/1, Course winner. Close fourth of 7 in handicap at Newcastle (8f, 6/1) 13 days ago, running on. Can make presence felt. Often blows the start; another hold-up performer who'll be reliant on getting the breaks. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Super Over |
(8) 80/1(-300%) | (8) Super Over 80/1, 80/1, seventh of 8 in handicap at this course (9.5f) 2 days ago. Struggled in three runs for his current trainer-jockey, including here on Wednesday night. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
The in-form Urban Road has to be high on the shortlist but this step up in grade off a 6lb higher mark is a concern. With that in mind, the vote goes to HITCHED, who failed to fire over 1m4f last time but his previous second over 1m2f at Lingfield gives him a big chance. Bravo Zulu and Chola Empire are others who arrive here with strong form claims.
TEMPUS is in better form than this recent form figures suggest so could be worth chancing from an easing mark. Urban Road completed the hat-trick in style here last month and is the obvious threat, while Eden Storm is finding some form now off his reduced mark.
A number of these tend to be held up and this looks good for BRAVO ZULU (nap), who's currently 3-3 for Rossa Ryan.

![]() Legal Reform |
(4) 9/2(-35%) | (4) Legal Reform 9/2, A 4-time C&D winner. latest coming in 8-runner handicap 42 days ago when making all. Up 3 lb but merits serious consideration. Two wins and a second in three C&D runs this year; career-high mark but still respected. |

(2) 6/1(-9%) | (2) Zip 6/1, C&D winner. Latest win at Newcastle in November. 6/1, respectable third of 10 in handicap at Newcastle (7.1f) 28 days ago. Ought to be in the shake-up. Newcastle win in Nov is strong form; respectable since; dangerous if left alone up front. |

![]() Alcazan |
(7) 50/1(-100%) | (7) Alcazan 50/1, Three wins from 13 runs last year. Latest win at Ascot in October. Seventh of 11 in handicap at Lingfield (7f, AW, 40/1) 14 days ago. Needs to take a step forward. Low-key reappearance at Lingfield two weeks ago; others look more persuasive. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
A winner of two of his last three starts over C&D, including last time out off 3lb lower, LEGAL REFORM still looks well treated and he can score once more for the in-form Michael Herrington outfit. Feared most is Abduction, who was an eye-catcher on his first run in 119 days when third over track and trip last month. A capable sort on his day, Zip must also enter calculations off a mark of 84.
LEGAL REFORM garnered a fourth C&D victory last time out and a 3 lb rise doesn't look sufficient to prevent him from going in once more. Invincible Aura figures on a handy-looking mark and is next on the list with Abduction and Zip in the picture too.
Much better is expected from Tropez Power today but ABDUCTION shaped well on his seasonal return and he gets the vote.

![]() Chavajod |
(3) 16/1(+20%) | (3) Chavajod 16/1, C&D winner. Eleven runs since last win in 2024. Last of 9 in handicap at this course (10.7f, 20/1). Off 100 days and back down in trip. Dual C&D winner; recent runs poor but handicapper giving him a chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Hurricane Helen |
(9) 20/1(-43%) | (9) Hurricane Helen 20/1, C&D winner. 12/1, eighth of 9 in handicap at this C&D 35 days ago, very slowly away. Can give a good account without posing serious threat to principals. Dual C&D winner went close over 1m2f in November but fair bit to find on two efforts since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Feature This |
(12) 28/1(-75%) | (12) Feature This 28/1, Four-time C&D winner. 8/1, 7¾ lengths last of 11 to Daonethatgotaway in handicap at this C&D, slowly away. Off 91 days and again likely to come up short. Last year's winner; back from a short break after poor run here in December. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Rampage |
(10) 40/1(-21%) | (10) Rampage 40/1, C&D winner. Latest win here in September. 33/1, thirteenth of 14 in handicap at this course (7f) 84 days ago. Cheekpieces back on and needs to get back on track. C&D success in September but well held later in year; may just need this after a break. |

![]() Serengeti Sunrise |
(14) 50/1(+0%) | (14) Serengeti Sunrise 50/1, Visored for 1st time, twelfth of 14 in handicap (80/1) at this course (10.7f) 28 days ago. Back down in trip and sports first-time blinkers and tongue strap. Needs to raise his game. Has struggled in four runs here for this stable; visor replaced by headgear combination. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
PUNK POET has dropped down to an attractive mark and gave encouragement over 7f here last month that he can add to five C&D wins. The Eddie Lynam-trained gelding was never a threat on that latest start but did put in some good work at the finish to be placed and will appreciate the step back up to a mile. Daonethatgotaway is on a hat-trick after two wins here over a mile and remains in this grade despite a combined rise of 11lb for those victories, while Pink Oxalis, Altimara and Rockbury Lad are others to consider. The latter always comes from off the pace and went close on his penultimate start over a mile.
With a strong gallop likely this drop back to a mile shouldn't inconvenience SETI, who has low-mileage for a 4-y-o and wasn't beaten far off this mark over 10.7f here last month. Pink Oxalis has been knocking on the door of late and is feared most ahead of Punk Poet and the hat-trick seeking Daonethatgotaway, who is perhaps now a shade too high in the weights following a 5 lb rise for his latest success.
Wide open with a tentative vote going to ROCKBURY LAD back down to 1m

![]() Midnightattheoasis |
(10) 6/4(+75%) | (10) Midnightattheoasis 6/4, One win from 23 Flat runs. Twenty runs since last win in 2023. Eighth of 11 in handicap at Newcastle (6f, 12/1) 8 days ago. Regressive gelding who rarely dips below 6f these days; Rossa Ryan is a positive booking. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Stroxx |
(1) 7/1(-8%) | (1) Stroxx 7/1, Two wins from 60 Flat runs. Latest win at Newcastle in January. Third of 5 in handicap (9/1) at Newcastle (5f) 13 days ago. Respected. In good form and is well drawn for one who's all about speed; has a good bit in his favour. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Red Walls |
(8) 7/1(+50%) | (8) Red Walls 7/1, 3-time C&D winner. Three wins from 21 runs last year. Latest win here in January. Eighth of 11 in handicap at this course (6.1f, 33/1) 17 days ago. Latest effort here from stall 11 best overlooked but another furlong would have been ideal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() War Zone |
(2) 7/1(-100%) | (2) War Zone 7/1, Latest win at Chelmsford City in February. 7/2, creditable fourth of 8 in handicap at Chelmsford City (5f) 15 days ago. Player. Been in good form round Chelmsford since his C&D second; should go well once more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Starshot |
(7) 8/1(-45%) | (7) Starshot 8/1, Remains a maiden after 28 Flat runs. Blinkered for 1st time, 2 lengths fifth of 7 to War Zone in minor event (9/2) at Chelmsford City (5f) 29 days ago. On good mark on pick of recent form. Longstanding maiden (5f-1m4f) who's done better since returned to sprint trips; player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Second Collection |
(5) 9/1(-64%) | (5) Second Collection 9/1, 4-time course winner. Creditable second of 7 in minor event (7/2) at this course (6.1f) 11 days ago. Can make presence felt. Won't mind drop from 6f; is adaptable regarding tactics; one to consider despite stall 10. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Admirable Lad |
(9) 11/1(+0%) | (9) Admirable Lad 11/1, C&D winner. 10/1, fifth of 10 in minor event at this C&D 17 days ago. Three-time course winner who can miss the break; only holds each-way claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Street Life |
(3) 14/1(+13%) | (3) Street Life 14/1, C&D winner. Three wins from 22 runs last year. 40/1, last of 10 in handicap at Newcastle (5f) 28 days ago. Rarely runs badly over C&D; doesn't arrive in any form but a better showing wouldn't shock. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Himawari |
(6) 28/1(-133%) | (6) Himawari 28/1, Respectable fourth of 9 in minor event at this course (6.1f, 33/1) 11 days ago. Regressive maiden; needs to find a bit more, minus the hood tonight, if she's to take this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Hi Hoh Tonto |
(11) 28/1(+30%) | (11) Hi Hoh Tonto 28/1, Remains a maiden after 17 Flat runs. Eighth of 9 in handicap (66/1) at this course (6.1f) 31 days ago. Few costly defeats for Matt Crawley last autumn; has offered little in three runs back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Astapor |
(4) 66/1(-100%) | (4) Astapor 66/1, 13/2, eleventh of 12 in handicap at Newcastle (5f). Off 164 days. Doesn't boast a good record first time out and stall 11 isn't ideal for a front-runnner. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Second Collection occupied the runner-up berth in a classified stakes over 6f here last time and she has to be respected back in handicap company. However, the slight concern is her draw in stall 10 and with that in mind, STROXX gets the vote. Liam Bailey's eight-year-old finished a fair third over this trip at Newcastle at the start of the month and was kindly dropped 1lb for that effort, so he might be able to get his head back in front. Of the remainder, War Zone makes the most appeal.
SECOND COLLECTION continues to hold her form and looks the most solid option back in a handicap. Starshot is a long-standing maiden but is on a nice mark on the pick of his recent form, while Stroxx is also shortlisted back down in class.
On a career-low mark, SECOND COLLECTION has always liked it here and has Molly Gunn taking off 7lb. Stroxx is next best.

![]() Our Havana |
(3) 5/4(+29%) | (3) Our Havana 5/4, C&D winner. One win from 3 runs last year. Latest win here in January. 13/2, bit below form sixth of 11 in handicap at this C&D 28 days ago. Expected to be bang there back in 0-85 company. Taken well to AW, winning easily over C&D in January; fair run in hot race here last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Feel The Need |
(5) 10/3(+5%) | (5) Feel The Need 10/3, Course winner in December. Creditable third of 12 in handicap (9/2) at this C&D 20 days ago. Evidently likes it here and should be on the premises once more. 1m win here in December; placed on his last two Southwell runs; each-way shout. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Way To Dubai |
(4) 9/2(+59%) | (4) Way To Dubai 9/2, Fourteen runs since last win in 2023. 10/1, last of 8 in handicap at Newbury (6f, heavy). Off 140 days ahead of this yard debut but he's dipped to a potentially handy mark and is one to note in the betting. 0-13 in Britain for C Fellowes but starts out for new yard off reduced mark; check market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Diamondonthehill |
(2) 6/1(-9%) | (2) Diamondonthehill 6/1, Eleven runs since last win in 2024. 14/1, creditable fourth of 9 in handicap at Lingfield (8f, AW) 26 days ago, better placed than most. Shouldn't be too far away. Good runs in defeat in three starts this year; should be in the thick of it once again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Eligible |
(7) 11/1(-83%) | (7) Eligible 11/1, Three-time C&D winner. Three wins from 14 runs last year. Respectable sixth of 12 in handicap at this course (8.1f, 11/2) 20 days ago, not ideally placed. Looks competitive on form. Wouldn't judge him harshly on last two runs; dangerous mark if getting a pace to run at. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Tough Enough |
(1) 33/1(+0%) | (1) Tough Enough 33/1, 15/2, twelfth of 14 in handicap at Haydock (6f, good to firm). Off 9 months ahead of this debut for new yard and probably best watched on this occasion. Three wins for J Tate; gelded prior to stable debut but has a nine-month absence to defy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Ten Commitments |
(8) 33/1(-371%) | (8) Ten Commitments 33/1, Career best when winning 14-runner handicap (5/1) at Kempton (8f) when last seen in October/final run for Jamie Osborne. This 6 lb higher mark could find him out back from a break for new connections. Won twice for Jamie Osborne last year but in a lower grade; best watched on stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Court Of Session |
(6) 80/1(-142%) | (6) Court Of Session 80/1, Creditable fourth of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 66/1) 6 days ago but will need to step up on that if he's to to have a say in the finish. Not beaten far at Wolverhampton last week; easy lead a possibility but others are stronger. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
This can go the way of OUR HAVANA, who performed with credit when upped in grade over C&D last time and he should be much more at home at this level. The four-year-old won over C&D on his penultimate outing and he may have too much for Feel The Need, who came from off the pace when not beaten far over track and trip on his latest start. Diamondonthehill also merits a place on the shortlist.
It could be worth rolling the dice with WAY TO DUBAI, who struggled for the most part in 2024 but he spent that campaign contesting higher-grade handicaps off higher marks than this. The 6-y-o makes his debut for a yard that is no stranger to success with recruits from rival stables and it will look significant if the market speaks in his favour. Our Havana is next on the list ahead of Eligible and Feel The Need.
Diamondonthehill should go well but OUR HAVANA (nap) won well over C&D in January and ran well in a hot Class 2 last time.

![]() Your Call |
(5) 5/2(-11%) | (5) Your Call 5/2, Career best when winning 14-runner nursery (10/3) at this course (7f) 86 days ago. Beat a next-time-out winner then and can go well again back over this longer trip. A 7f win here in December looks good form; 5lb rise plenty fair; big player back at 1m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() In The Minus |
(7) 3/1(+79%) | (7) In The Minus 3/1, 100/1, tenth of 14 in nursery at this C&D 100 days ago. Booking of McAteer a plus. Soundly beaten off what looked a harsh initial mark; down 10lb now but remains opposable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Amber Blossom |
(3) 7/2(+13%) | (3) Amber Blossom 7/2, Winner here in November. Creditable second of 7 in handicap at this C&D (12/1) 46 days ago. One to take seriously. Rallying second over C&D in January, albeit hanging left; should be thereabouts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Sunriseontheboyne |
(4) 13/2(-95%) | (4) Sunriseontheboyne 13/2, C&D winner in November. 10/1, creditable fifth of 10 in handicap at this course (7f) 14 days ago. Encouraging comeback run over inadequate 7f; more expected of now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() All Right By Me |
(1) 13/2(-8%) | (1) All Right By Me 13/2, Thrice-raced maiden. Tenth of 14 in maiden at the Curragh (6f, good to firm, 50/1) 8 months ago. Significantly up in trip. Blinkers on 1st time. Makes handicap debut. Could have more to offer for leading yard. Initial debut promise last year not built on; blinkered for AW/handicap debut here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Faithlegg Lodge |
(2) 12/1(-100%) | (2) Faithlegg Lodge 12/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Fifth of 11 in maiden (33/1) at this C&D 21 days ago. Makes handicap debut and could progress. Likely more to offer now entering handicaps although opening mark a tad high. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Esque Elegance |
(6) 33/1(-106%) | (6) Esque Elegance 33/1, 16/1, bit below form seventh of 14 in handicap at this course (7f) 42 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Fourth behind Your Call over 7f but two runs since not nearly as good; cheekpieces tried. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Hooz In Court |
(8) 40/1(-21%) | (8) Hooz In Court 40/1, 33/1, below form eighth of 14 in handicap at this course (7f) 42 days ago. Best form over this trip; return to 1m to suit but 3lb wrong. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
SUNRISEONTHEBOYNE beat Your Call by half a length over C&D last November and now meets that rival on slightly better terms. The Mick Mulvany-trained gelding hasn't been disgraced in two outings since over 7f and will appreciate the step back up to a mile. The form of Your Call's subsequent course win, with Esque Elegance back in fourth, has worked out well since, while Amber Blossom also won here over 7f as a juvenile. Johnny Murtagh's charge ran a cracker when runner-up to Lost President over a mile last time and probably rates the chief threat.
YOUR CALL had taken well to this surface when last seen, beating a subsequent winner in a 7f nursery, and he can give another good account back over 1m on his return. Amber Blossom is respected, while All Right By Me and Faithlegg Lodge are potential improvers now handicapping for leading yards.
An interesting rematch between Sunriseontheboyne and YOUR CALL, the latter taken to exact revenge

![]() Knockbrex |
(1) 9/4(+55%) | (1) Knockbrex 9/4, Latest win at Lingfield in January. Creditable fourth of 11 in handicap (11/1) at Southwell (12.1f) 20 days ago. Has only gone this far once and is a strong traveller who has stamina to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Rogue Tornado |
(5) 3/1(-50%) | (5) Rogue Tornado 3/1, Career best when winning 9-runner handicap (5/1) at Southwell (14.1f) 13 days ago, keeping on well. Good chance again at this trip. Hasn't had many runs over this trip, or on Tapeta, and could well be up to it upped 4lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Optician |
(6) 7/2(+13%) | (6) Optician 7/2, 5-time course winner. Creditable second of 6 in handicap at this C&D (5/1) 31 days ago, no match for improved winner. One to consider. Always been best round here; is straightforward and reliable, and should go well again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Tradesman |
(7) 17/2(-6%) | (7) Tradesman 17/2, Unreliable type. Eleven runs since last win in 2023. Second of 3 in handicap at Southwell (16.5f, 7/1) 10 days ago, again very slowly away. Long odds-on to blow the start and doesn't come without risk, minus headgear tonight. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Pleasant Man |
(2) 10/1(-11%) | (2) Pleasant Man 10/1, First run since leaving Lawrence Mullaney when 10½ lengths fifth of 7 to Royal Champion in Winter Derby (150/1) at Southwell (11.1f) 20 days ago. Handicap winner before that and respected back in this class. Out of his depth for his new trainer three weeks ago; is high enough in the weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Robusto |
(3) 10/1(-11%) | (3) Robusto 10/1, Eighth of 9 in handicap (13/2) at Southwell (16.5f) 20 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Hung right when well below previous levels last time; is ultimately weighted to his best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Cardano |
(4) 12/1(+0%) | (4) Cardano 12/1, Fairly useful winner. 11 lengths sixth of 7 to Optician in handicap at this C&D (7/1) 84 days ago. Break will have helped. Hard to win with now and become inconsistent; nothing to suggest he's best caught fresh. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
ROGUE TORNADO made his way through the field to score in good style over this trip at Southwell on his most recent start and is only 4lb higher for that triumph. If the son of Cracksman remains in similar form, then he will prove difficult to beat. Optician took the silver medal home in a similar track-and-trip event last month and would be foolish to dismiss off only a 1lb higher rating. Tradesman appears next best.
ROGUE TORNADO scored in good style over this trip at Southwell a fortnight ago and can follow up. Optician is feared most ahead of Pleasant Man.
Optician should go well again, but ROGUE TORNADO turned in a career-best effort on his first crack at 1m6f on Tapeta last time.

![]() Badri |
(5) 5/2(+69%) | (5) Badri 5/2, Bounced back to winning ways at this C&D in January and backed up that effort when second of 10 in handicap at Newcastle (5f, 4/1) 22 days ago. Can give his running again returned to this longer trip. Two fine runs this year, winning over C&D before a second at Newcastle (5f); big player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Shartash |
(1) 11/4(-38%) | (1) Shartash 11/4, Won first 2 starts last year, including listed race at Haydock. After 4 months off, shaped promisingly making belated handicap debut when third of 9 at Lingfield (6f, 11/4) 2 weeks ago, finishing well. Major player. Found Lingfield too sharp after a break last month; still ran well and this track can help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() We Never Stop |
(7) 6/1(+70%) | (7) We Never Stop 6/1, Won twice last year, including at this C&D in November. Not seen to best effect when seventh of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f, 6/1) 34 days ago, though he does have another wide draw to contend with this time around. Two fine C&D runs in late 2024; bad draw over 5f latest; dangerous if getting an easy lead. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Rohaan |
(11) 13/2(+64%) | (11) Rohaan 13/2, Runner-up at this C&D on penultimate start but failed to build on that promise when seventh of 9 in handicap at Lingfield (6f, 11/1) 2 weeks ago, albeit unsuited by way race developed given his hold-up style. Lurks on dangerous mark. Handicapped to win & went close over C&D last month; another who could do with a good pace. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Fivethousandtoone |
(2) 11/1(-10%) | (2) Fivethousandtoone 11/1, Smart performer who has shaped well both starts for current yard, doing some good late work when 3 lengths fourth of 11 to Clarendon House in listed race at this course (5f, 14/1) 20 days ago. One to note back up in trip. Has high-class AW form; retains all his ability for new yard; drawn wide but e-w shout. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Havanagreattime |
(9) 11/1(+31%) | (9) Havanagreattime 11/1, Gained a third career success when making all at Lingfield in December but, in first-time cheekpieces, was unable to lead when ninth of 11 in handicap at this course (7.1f, 16/1) 28 days ago. More needed back down in trip. 7f win at Lingfield in December; below par here in cheekpieces last month; others stronger. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Rosario |
(3) 14/1(-100%) | (3) Rosario 14/1, Without a win since debut but has returned to his best in 2 outings this year, beaten ¾ length when third of 10 in handicap at Kempton (6f, 11/1) 30 days ago. Can make his presence felt in this current form. No win since debut; close third at Kempton last time but was well positioned. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Many A Star |
(8) 16/1(+43%) | (8) Many A Star 16/1, Three-time winner already this year, including twice over C&D. However, below form when seventh of 9 in handicap here (4/1) 3 weeks ago and this is a tougher contest in which to bounce back in. Three 6f wins this year, two of them at this track; looks high in the weights now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Tiger Crusade |
(10) 18/1(-13%) | (10) Tiger Crusade 18/1, Scored with a bit to spare at Wolverhampton in January and has run at least as well on his last 2 starts, only narrowly denied when second of 9 in handicap at Kempton (7f, 10/1) 16 days ago. Merits consideration. 6f win at Wolverhampton in January; fair efforts since; drawn widest but not discounted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Mums Tipple |
(6) 33/1(+0%) | (6) Mums Tipple 33/1, Seventeen runs since last win in 2023 and ended last year on a low-key note. After 3 months off, probably needed the run when fifth of 9 in handicap (22/1) at Lingfield (6f) 2 weeks ago, but others still more persuasive. Down in the weights but hasn't been shaping as though he was ready to capitalise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Juan Les Pins |
(12) 40/1(+0%) | (12) Juan Les Pins 40/1, Eighteen runs since last win in 2023 and has been struggling for form of late, eighth of 10 in handicap at Newcastle (7.1f, 16/1) 28 days ago. Cheekpieces back on but has enough to prove at present. Well short of his best this winter; tumbled down the weights but others are safer. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
ROHAAN remains on a dangerous mark judged on his last couple of starts at this venue and the seven-year-old is given a chance to bounce back from his most recent appearance at Lingfield two weeks ago when unable to land a blow. Mums Tipple finished ahead of the selection in the aforementioned contest and is entitled to have stepped forward, especially with that being his first run since November. Others to note are Badri and Fivethousandtoone.
Making his return from 4 months off, SHARTASH looked unlucky not to finish closer when third at Lingfield 2 weeks ago, left poorly placed, and he can build on his recent run to get back to winning ways. Rosario hasn't been beaten far in his 2 starts this year and could be the main danger, while Tiger Crusade also arrives in good form and completes the shortlist.
We Never Stop won't be easy to peg back but BADRI loves it around here, is in top form and can win again.

![]() Arizona Blaze |
(1) 4/9(+39%) | (1) Arizona Blaze 4/9, Very useful colt. 271/10, good ½-length second of 12 to Magnum Force in Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint at Del Mar (5f, firm) in November. The one to beat on return. Well clear of these rivals and his yard has been in fine form so is difficult to oppose. |

![]() Sir Yoshi |
(3) 6/1(+40%) | (3) Sir Yoshi 6/1, Useful gelding. 8/1, 5¼ lengths tenth of 13 to Lady With The Lamp in listed race at this course (5f) in October, hampered over 1f out. Off since. Doesn't have much to find with Arizona Blaze on these terms but needs his best form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Songhai |
(6) 9/1(-50%) | (6) Songhai 9/1, Won 13-runner C&D maiden on debut 14 days ago, driven out. Should improve. C&D winner; tough task against Arizona Blaze but should be in the shake-up behind him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Beauty Queen |
(4) 14/1(-17%) | (4) Beauty Queen 14/1, Lightly-raced winner. 7/2, career best when winning 9-runner novice at Southwell (5f) in October . Subsequently sold out of Kevin Ryan's yard for 60,000 gns. Has a bit to find at the weights on return for a new yard. She has a tough task against Arizona Blaze but should be in the shake-up behind him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Li Ban |
(5) 16/1(+0%) | (5) Li Ban 16/1, Fairly useful filly. First run since leaving Raphael Freire when fifth of 6 in handicap (13/2) at this course (5f) 35 days ago. Arizona Blaze looks the stable first string. Needs her stablemate to run well below form to have a winning chance. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
ARIZONA BLAZE was a high-class juvenile, and the talented sprinter should be able to make a winning reappearance. The son of Sergei Prokofiev won twice last year including the Group 3 Marble Hill Stakes at the Curragh and was also placed on two occasions at the top table, including when runner-up in the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint at Del Mar. Tipperary maiden winner Sir Yoshi ran his best race when third in the Listed Roses Stakes at York, while Songhai made a winning debut over C&D last month and looks a nice prospect. Dark Ace has improved since switched to this surface while Beauty Queen won twice for Kevin Ryan last year.
If ARIZONA BLAZE can reproduce anything like the form he showed when second at the Breeders' Cup when last seen he should make a successful return to action. Dark Ace took really well to this surface in the autumn and may provide the chief threat ahead of David Marnane's listed-placed performer Sir Yoshi.
The classy ARIZONA BLAZE will have to run a fair bit below his best not to win so is difficult to oppose

(3) 9/4(+0%) | (3) City Escape 9/4, 5-time C&D winner. Respectable second of 11 in handicap at this C&D (5/1) 3 days ago, race not run ideally to suit and bumping into a very well-treated rival. Obvious chance from the same mark. Unlucky here on Tuesday; will be 4lb higher from tomorrow and holds obvious claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() My Brother Mike |
(1) 13/2(+0%) | (1) My Brother Mike 13/2, 4-time course winner. Latest win here in February. 8/1, seventh of 11 in handicap at this C&D 3 days ago, not ideally placed. Comfortably held behind City Escape here on Tuesday; has his good and bad days now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Port Noir |
(6) 10/1(-33%) | (6) Port Noir 10/1, 6-time course winner. Three wins from 29 runs last year. 15/2, creditable 1½ lengths third of 9 to My Brother Mike in handicap at this C&D 17 days ago, not ideally placed. One to consider. Solid effort back from a second round of wind surgery last time; rarely runs badly here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() The Pug |
(7) 11/1(+56%) | (7) The Pug 11/1, Unreliable type. Fourteen runs since last win in 2023. 50/1, tenth of 12 in handicap at Kempton (12f) 30 days ago. Back down in trip. Cheekpieces back on. Down to a career-low mark under Hollie Doyle, but has become wildly inconsistent. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Strategic Fortune |
(5) 14/1(-133%) | (5) Strategic Fortune 14/1, 3-time C&D winner. Fifteen runs since last win in 2023. 13/2, respectable fourth of 12 in handicap at Newcastle (12.4f) 15 days ago. Back down in trip. Pulled hard and didn't see out 1m4f last time and will be happier back round here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Mr Trick |
(9) 18/1(-50%) | (9) Mr Trick 18/1, Course winner. Seventeen runs since last win in 2023. Creditable second of 9 in minor event at this C&D (13/2) 18 days ago, no match for winner. Place claims. Latest second came in a 0-50 classified event and he's no certainty to repeat the effort. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Bird Of Play |
(2) 66/1(-230%) | (2) Bird Of Play 66/1, 12/1, fifth of 6 in handicap at Newcastle (10.2f) 22 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time. 1m2f may have been beyond him last time and he's another 3lb lower in first-time headgear. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Having looked somewhat of an unlucky loser when rattling home for second over track and trip on Tuesday, CITY ESCAPE makes plenty of appeal racing off an unchanged mark. Mark Loughnane's mare is 4lb well-in on her future mark and she should take all the beating if coping with a quick turnaround. The biggest threat may emerge from the three-time C&D winner Strategic Fortune, who should appreciate this drop back in distance, while last month's C&D third Port Noir is unlikely to be far away either.
CITY ESCAPE remains in top form having bumped into a very well-treated rival here on Tuesday and can resume winning ways. Port Noir and Mr Trick are a couple of the other more likely sorts.
4lb well-in, CITY ESCAPE can make amends for an unlucky defeat here on Tuesday before her new mark kicks in tomorrow.

(3) 6/1(+14%) | (3) Humble Spark 6/1, Latest win here in February. 7/1, creditable sixth of 11 in handicap back at this course (12.1f) 20 days ago, left poorly placed. In the mix. Solid sixth here 20 days ago when not ideally placed; can go well off a 1lb lower mark. |

![]() Charlie's Choice |
(4) 15/2(+6%) | (4) Charlie's Choice 15/2, C&D winner. Three wins from 13 runs last year. 4/1, below form 15¼ lengths third of 6 to Sax Appeal in handicap at this course (12.1f) 14 days ago, having hopeless task from position. Work to do. C&D winner and a good third here two weeks ago; ought to be thereabouts again. |

(7) 8/1(+50%) | (7) Tortured Soul 8/1, C&D winner. Eight wins from 25 Flat runs. Six wins from 15 runs last year. ![]() Tides Of War |
(1) 22/1(+12%) | (1) Tides Of War 22/1, Ninth of 11 in handicap at this course (12.1f, 40/1) 20 days ago, needing stiffer test. Needs to bounce back. Yard also saddles Charlie's Choice. Only ninth here 20 days ago; still can't be discounted off an easing mark though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Annexation |
(9) 33/1(-32%) | (9) Annexation 33/1, 14/1, sixth of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 18 days ago. Down to a workable mark and, though not getting any younger, he could have a part to play. Fair sixth at Wolver 18 days ago; remains one to consider though off an easing mark. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
SAX APPEAL arrives very much at the top of his game having backed up a brace of Wolverhampton successes with a 14-length rout over 1m4f here a fortnight ago. The handicapper may have been kind to only raise him 5lb and Charlie Johnston's gelding is expected to prove a tough nut to crack. Not Me may improve for a step up in trip, while Charlie's Choice and Humble Spark complete the shortlist.
The handicapper hasn't overreacted to SAX APPEAL's demolition job here a fortnight ago, handing him a 5 lb rise for that 14-length victory, and a fourth win on the bounce could be in the offing for Charlie Johnston's charge. Lightly-raced maiden Not Me promises to be suited by this step up in trip and is taken to emerge as the main danger ahead of the Tony Carroll-trained duo, Annexation and Tortured Soul.
It's very hard to ignore the claims of SAX APPEAL, who still looks ahead of his mark raised 5lb for his easy success here two weeks ago.

![]() Mehman |
(3) 5/4(+64%) | (3) Mehman 5/4, Four-time course winner. 5/6, career best when winning 6-runner C&D handicap C&D 56 days ago, readily. Should go well again. Was hit with an 11lb rise for easy last win but still has to be high on the list. |

![]() Daamberdiplomat |
(1) 10/3(-33%) | (1) Daamberdiplomat 10/3, Three-time C&D winner. 2/1, career best when winning 11-runner C&D handicap in December by a nose from the reopposing Mehman. Respected. Beat several of these rivals recently; raised another 3lb but looks a major player again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Harry's Bar |
(2) 9/2(+18%) | (2) Harry's Bar 9/2, Four-time C&D winner. Eleven runs since last win in 2023. Below form second of 11 in C&D claimer (4/7) 14 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Has been given a chance by the handicapper. Below his best in a C&D claimer last time so will have to improve upon that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Never Shout Never |
(7) 5/1(+0%) | (7) Never Shout Never 5/1, Course winner over 5f in December. 2/1, creditable third of 8 in handicap at this course (5f) 21 days ago. One of 2 runners for an in-form stable. Consistent here over the winter, mostly over 5f; this trip isn't an issue; contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Collective Power |
(5) 14/1(+13%) | (5) Collective Power 14/1, Four-time course winner. Fourteen runs since last win in 2024. 11/2, sixth of 9 in handicap at Navan (5f, good to soft) in October. Absent since so there's a chance he'll need this. Four AW wins; returning from a lengthy layoff and will have to be at his best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Inishmot Prince |
(4) 20/1(-25%) | (4) Inishmot Prince 20/1, Three-time C&D winner. 12/1, creditable 1¾ lengths sixth of 11 to Daamberdiplomat in C&D handicap in December. Off since. Not beaten far by Daamberdiplomat last time and is down 1lb so is likely to be in the mix. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
DAAMBERDIPLOMAT has gained all four of his career wins over 6f with three of them coming at this track including last time when just getting the better of Mehman by a nose. The form of that race has been very well advertised since and the selection, who also beat Harry's Bar and Dontspoilasale back in November, meets Mehman on 9lb better terms. The latter got a hefty hike for a decisive win also over C&D, while Never Shout Never has progressed well since switched here this winter. The Stephen Thorne-trained gelding has shown plenty of pace including when successful over 5f but has also gone close over this trip.
MEHMAN was a very comfortable winner over C&D in January and might be able to cope with a rise in the weights. Daamberdiplomat edged out the selection here in December and is feared most ahead of Stephen Thorne veteran Harry's Bar.
DONTSPOILASALE is worth taking a chance on as he is only 2lb higher than when winning over C&D earlier in the season

Up in trip now handicapping and sure to do better again. Revelation on his return from wind surgery last month; likely there's improvement in him. |

![]() Enrolled |
(1) 7/2(+50%) | (1) Enrolled 7/2, Lightly-raced maiden. Good third of 13 in nursery at Kempton (7f, 4/1) when last seen, again racing freely. Off 135 days. Up in trip. Could have more to offer this year. Much better on his nursery debut (7f) last autumn; stable going well and he's shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() War Hawk |
(3) 4/1(+27%) | (3) War Hawk 4/1, Promising individual. Second of 10 in maiden at Southwell (8.1f, 3/1) 56 days ago, no match for winner. Gelded after and now makes handicap debut. Should do better once more. Better back on Tapeta last time and that gave something to build on now handicapping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Hot Frank |
(8) 11/2(+35%) | (8) Hot Frank 11/2, Thrice-raced maiden. Seventh of 13 in novice at Windsor (6f, soft, 66/1) 6 months ago, not knocked about. Has been gelded/had breathing operation since last seen. Potential improver now handicapping and upped in trip. Been gelded and undergone wind surgery; the market will be the best guide under Rossa Ryan. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Ventura Dream |
(5) 10/1(-122%) | (5) Ventura Dream 10/1, Gelded, improved when winning 8-runner handicap at Southwell (8.1f, 16/1) 27 days ago, always holding on from a subsequent winner. Should progress further. 8lb higher now but latest win been boosted by the clear runner-up going in since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Blue Seeker |
(7) 28/1(-211%) | (7) Blue Seeker 28/1, Winner here in December. 3/1, fifth of 8 in handicap at Southwell (7.1f) 30 days ago. Up in trip. Held since course win; needs to settle better if he's to see out this longest trip to date. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Sorbus |
(4) 33/1(-32%) | (4) Sorbus 33/1, Winner at Kempton in January. First run since leaving Ed Walker when seventh of 9 in handicap at Southwell (8.1f, 8/1) 21 days ago, not clear run. Tongue strap back on. Tongue-tie returns off the back of an ordinary handicap debut for new yard three weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Master Of Zest |
(2) 40/1(-43%) | (2) Master Of Zest 40/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Last of 11 in maiden (5/2) at Yarmouth (8f, good to firm) 176 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Makes handicap debut. Promise first two starts but has to improve to defy this mark in first-time cheekpieces. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
The combination of a wind procedure and 117-day break did the trick for last month's Kempton scorer TUCO SALAMANCA. Ollie Sangster's three-year-old opened his account with something in hand and a mark of 70 could prove lenient on his first handicap outing. Ventura Dream scored a shade cosily on his handicap bow at Southwell 27 days ago and, despite an 8lb higher mark, he isn't taken lightly. Enrolled and Blue Seeker are others to consider.
A 3-y-o handicap featuring several promising ones, with Kempton winner TUCO SALAMANCA taken to go in again now handicapping. He was well on top when opening his account 3 weeks ago and this longer trip is sure to suit. War Hawk, Ventura Dream and Hot Frank are all ones to keep on side too.
The vote goes to ENROLLED, who ran well in the face of adversity when last seen. Tuco Salamanca is unexposed and next best.

![]() Overnight Oats |
(3) 7/2(+30%) | (3) Overnight Oats 7/2, C&D winner in February. Fifth of 7 in handicap at Newcastle (8f, 5/1) 8 days ago, slowly away. Will probably need to come down the weights a bit before adding to his tally. C&D winner; pulled hard when solid fifth at Newcastle eight days ago; one to consider. |

![]() Commander Of Life |
(1) 5/1(+38%) | (1) Commander Of Life 5/1, Latest win at Wolverhampton in January. Good fourth of 12 in handicap at this C&D (14/1) 20 days ago, not ideally placed. Has good chance on form. Good fourth over C&D latest when doing best of those held up; likely player eased 1lb. |

![]() Yeoman |
(6) 6/1(-50%) | (6) Yeoman 6/1, Thirteen runs since last win in 2023. Visored for 1st time, creditable third of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f, 3/1) 34 days ago, left poorly placed. One to consider. Now 13 runs since his last success but he arrives in good nick; bold showing on the cards. |

![]() Wilde And Dandy |
(7) 17/2(-21%) | (7) Wilde And Dandy 17/2, Course winner in December. 13/2, creditable second of 8 in handicap at Chelmsford City (7f) 20 days ago, slowly away. Each-way chance. Got back on track when second at Chelmsford 20 days ago; can go well again nudged up 1lb. |

![]() Etretat |
(4) 14/1(-40%) | (4) Etretat 14/1, Latest win at Lingfield in January. Respectable sixth of 10 in handicap (16/1) at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 6 days ago. Opposable from a win point of view. Not disgraced when sixth in 9.5f Wolverhampton handicap six days ago; shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Shaw Park |
(5) 20/1(-167%) | (5) Shaw Park 20/1, Three wins from 23 runs last year. 9/2, won 12-runner handicap at this course (7.1f) 10 days ago, well positioned. More needed under a penalty this time. Ended losing sequence in 7f h'cap here ten days ago; not taken lightly under 5lb penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Visibility |
(8) 25/1(-56%) | (8) Visibility 25/1, Tricky customer. C&D winner. Respectable fourth of 12 in handicap at this C&D (3/1) 3 days ago. Will be a danger to all if on-song. Arrives in good form, fourth over C&D three days ago; ought to be thereabouts once more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Down To The Kid |
(9) 25/1(-25%) | (9) Down To The Kid 25/1, Course winner. Eleven runs since last win in 2023. Second of 10 in handicap (25/1) at this C&D 36 days ago, no match for winner. Couldn't be entirely sure that he'll back that effort up. Course scorer who recorded a good C&D second last month; enters calculations. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Shaw Park returned to winning ways on his latest start here over 7f but Scott Dixon's gelding will need to improve on that effort given he's 3lb wrong under a penalty. With that in mind, the vote goes to WILDE AND DANDY. The five-year-old ran on to finish second over 7f at Chelmsford latest and the return to a mile may help. Mr Mistoffelees and Yeoman appear best of the remainder.
This looks pretty open and preference is for COMMANDER OF LIFE, who put in a good shift when fourth over C&D off a 1 lb higher mark last month. Mr Mistoffelees deserves to get his head in front following a couple of solid placed efforts and he is expected to offer stren resistance, while Visibility looks the pick of the two trained by Scott Dixon and he also enters calculations, along with Yeoman.
Jessica Macey's COMMANDER OF LIFE wasn't seen to ideal effect when fourth over C&D last time and can resume winning ways eased 1lb.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
