1st (7) (50/1 -150%) Behind The Curtain |
50/1(-150%) | (7) Behind The Curtain 50/1, Fair maiden hurdler in Ireland. Has failed to complete in a pair of staying handicap chases for new yard since returning from a long absence, although he did lead for a long way at Fontwell on Boxing Day. Reverts to hurdles and a shorter trip back from a break. Worth a precautionary betting check. Has failed to complete in two chases for new yard after a long time off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (7/2 +13%) Regal Renaissance |
7/2(+13%) | (4) Regal Renaissance 7/2, Back to winning ways over 19.5f at Chepstow (heavy) 10 days ago. Player under a 7 lb penalty if showing up in a similar mood. Penalised for her recent easy win at Chepstow and she doesn't need the mud. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (33/1 -175%) Fautinette |
33/1(-175%) | (3) Fautinette 33/1, Unbeaten all 3 starts over hurdles in France but has failed to make an impact in Britain, albeit she may have needed the outing when a remote fourth on her 2m Hereford reappearance 18 days ago. Steps up in trip now. Three wins in France; 0-5 in Britain but the handicapper is doing his best to help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (10) (11/2 -10%) Seasett |
11/2(-10%) | (10) Seasett 11/2, Fairly useful Flat winner who left his previous hurdles efforts behind when taking a 19f Carlisle handicap (soft) 3 weeks ago. Up 4 lb but his Flat ability provides the hope for better again. Won with a bit in hand at Carlisle and must have a chance off just 4lb higher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (9/2 +55%) Honneur D'ajonc |
9/2(+55%) | (1) Honneur D'ajonc 9/2, Multiple hurdles winner who opened his account over fences at Hereford (22f) last winter. Easily best effort this term when runner-up back hurdling at Ludlow (21f, heavy) 35 days ago. Claims if he can build on that. Returned to this discipline he ran better behind an easy winner at Ludlow. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (3/1 +40%) Banteer |
3/1(+40%) | (6) Banteer 3/1, Fairly useful form when runner-up on the first of 2 starts in bumpers. Also a promising third in a 2m novice hurdle here in December. Only fifth at Doncaster later that month but retains potential now handicapping for a top stable which won this race last year. Handicap debut and potentially well handicapped for last year's winning combination. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (9/2 +36%) The Bomber Liston |
9/2(+36%) | (2) The Bomber Liston 9/2, Placed twice at Ludlow before Christmas but needs to shrug off a poor effort at Newbury at the beginning of this month. Stable still not out of the woods after their recent troubles but he's hard to discount. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (66/1 -313%) Ragamuffin |
66/1(-313%) | (9) Ragamuffin 66/1, Three-time chase winner in 2022 and placed twice over hurdles this season. Off since a below-par run at Plumpton in November. Four-time hurdle winner who can deal with this mark if ready to go after his absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (17/2 +15%) Odin's Quest |
17/2(+15%) | (11) Odin's Quest 17/2, Bumper winner who built on earlier promise when landing a weak course maiden hurdle last spring. Pulled up in his first 2 handicaps but back to form when third over 2m at Taunton and Ludlow since. Significantly up in trip. Has to go right handed; gave it a good go from the front when a rallying third at Ludlow. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Stanley Pincombe goes well for Molly Landau and with the rider's 7lb allowance a handy asset, this three-time hurdles winner holds solid claims. So does Regal Renaissance, who was comfortably on top when landing a mares' handicap at Chepstow, with Archie Jones' claim effectively cancelling out the 7lb penalty. However, BANTEER surely has more to offer than he managed at Doncaster and given his previous third behind subsequent Dovecote winner Lump Sum here reads particularly well, this longer trip can prompt further progress from the Paul Nicholls-trained handicap debutant.
Paul and Olive Nicholls combined to win this 12 months ago and it might be worth siding with unexposed handicap debutant BANTEER to repeat the feat. Regal Renaissance will be a threat if backing up her recent Chepstow success. Seasett, Bataillon and the consistent Stanley Pinchcombe are others who could play a part in a competitive opener.
Paul Nicholls and daughter Olive combined to win this last year and they can repeat the trick with BANTEER (nap), who could be well in.

1st (3) (13/2 -117%) Abingworth |
13/2(-117%) | (3) Abingworth 13/2, Progressive over fences, off the mark at Taunton (18.2f, good to soft) on third start. Good runner-up efforts next 2 starts, meeting some trouble at Hereford last time. Remains of interest. The winner got first run at a crucial stage when runner-up at Hereford (2m3f). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (11/4 +45%) Sherborne |
11/4(+45%) | (5) Sherborne 11/4, Won twice over hurdles and confirmed the promise of previous starts in this sphere when winning C&D event in December. Pulled up at Exeter next time but wasted no time getting back on track when third at Lingfield, 2 lengths down when stumbled on landing last (not recover). Player. C&D winner who should have finished appreciably closer than 9l last time at Lingfield. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (5/4 +69%) Moytier |
5/4(+69%) | (6) Moytier 5/4, Had been shaping up well prior to opening his account in ready fashion over C&D (heavy) 4 weeks ago. Handicapper has reacted but no surprise to see him go well once more with Harry Cobden onboard again. Engaged 3.50 Taunton Tuesday. Convincing C&D winner latest but wouldn't want to be flattered by that as up 9lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (7/2 +0%) Hatos |
7/2(+0%) | (4) Hatos 7/2, Off the mark in this sphere at Ffos Las (16f) last month and improved on that when following up in 4-runner handicap here (15.7f, heavy). Not in same form at Leicester since but was having third run on heavy ground within the space of 4 weeks. Change of headgear. Unproven beyond 2m. No match for an improver last time but he's worth another go over this far. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (33/1 -560%) Begin The Luck |
33/1(-560%) | (2) Begin The Luck 33/1, Found wins hard to come by over hurdles but took well to chasing, winning 4 of his last 5 starts, improving again when wide-margin winner of 4-runner event at Stratford when last seen in June. That race rather fell apart and 7 lb higher now but respected all the same. His latest wins came in races that fell apart; makes stable debut after quite an absence. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
The hat-trick seeking Begin The Luck posted a wide-margin Stratford success when last seen and is noteworthy back on a right-handed track on debut for a new yard, while previous course winner Hatos is respected going back up in trip with a first-time visor added. However, preference is for SHERBORNE, who is also a C&D winner but seems more suited to this sort of distance than his two main rivals. The state of the ground has also come up trumps for the selection and a big run is expected off just 5lb above his last winning mark.
A case can be made for most but it might be worth chancing SHERBORNE, who was a good winner over this C&D in December and shaped better than the bare result at Lingfield 6 weeks ago. Abingworth is having a good first season over fences and remains on a fair mark, so is next best ahead of the returning Begin The Luck.
This looks open. SHERBORNE is a C&D winner who was unfortunate not to finish considerably closer last time at Lingfield.

1st (6) (12/1 +14%) Chloe's Court |
12/1(+14%) | (6) Chloe's Court 12/1, Back to form when signing off last season on a winning note at Chepstow and followed up at Exeter on reappearance in November. Shaped as if still in good form but would have benefited from a stronger pace when third back there (23.1f, heavy) last month so she's one to consider. Couldn't rule out, though has little margin for error off current mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (9/2 -64%) Gaye Legacy |
9/2(-64%) | (2) Gaye Legacy 9/2, Steady improver in handicaps this season, showing an excellent attitude to resume winning ways in 16-runner event at Newbury (24.2f, soft) in January. Ran well up in grade when fifth in listed event at Doncaster (24.4f, heavy) earlier this month and should give her running once again. Newbury win brings her into it; got going all too late at Doncaster but again ran well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (11/1 +8%) Just Go For It |
11/1(+8%) | (8) Just Go For It 11/1, Dual 2m5f scorer last term who proved better than ever when landing 14-runner handicap at Taunton (19f, soft) 16 days ago, quickly putting the race to bed in the straight. Handicapper taken a swipe with a 10 lb rise but this is a stronger race back against her own sex. Easy Taunton winner; now 10lb higher in a stronger race and has a bit to prove at 3m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (6/1 +33%) Fortuna Ligna |
6/1(+33%) | (7) Fortuna Ligna 6/1, Sole win came at cramped odds in mares' maiden at Chepstow (19.5f) last spring. Creditable efforts in handicaps around 3m on 4 of her 5 starts this term but she'll need to find a bit more to win. Cobden back on board a positive. Needs to raise her game but the new visor (replacing cheekpieces) could trigger something. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (14/1 -100%) Tequila Blaze |
14/1(-100%) | (4) Tequila Blaze 14/1, Fair handicap hurdler who stepped up markedly on her reappearance run 7 weeks earlier to finally capitalise on a falling mark at Southwell (24.3f, soft) just under 8 weeks ago, well suited by the way the race developed. Up 7 lb but remains well treated on old form. Hadn't been firing at all but she fairly bolted up over this far at Southwell; back up 7lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (5/2 -25%) Elle Est Beau |
5/2(-25%) | (9) Elle Est Beau 5/2, Lightly-raced sort from a top yard who stayed on for third on handicap debut at Sandown in December when well backed. Looked set to open her account before departing late back there (19.8f, heavy) 2 months ago and she can gain compensation provided she sees out the extra distance. Every chance when falling at Sandown and looks a handicap winner waiting to happen. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (7/1 +56%) Great Snow |
7/1(+56%) | (5) Great Snow 7/1, Fair novice hurdler for Neil Mulholland last term. Strong in the betting but made a disappointing return for her new stable at Wincanton in November and again ran poorly in a first-time tongue tie at Newbury (24.2f, soft) in January. Mark tumbling but has plenty to prove now. Well treated and likely to stage a revival sooner or later but comes with risks for now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (11/1 -83%) Sabrina |
11/1(-83%) | (1) Sabrina 11/1, Enjoyed a productive 2022/23 campaign, culminating with a 3m handicap win at the Ayr Scottish National meeting last April. Ran up to her best with her reappearance under her belt when third over C&D (soft) 3 months ago and ought to give another good account. Respectable against the boys over C&D when last seen on Boxing Day; stuck on a tough mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (17/2 +29%) Royale Dance |
17/2(+29%) | (3) Royale Dance 17/2, Fair winner at 2m for Dan Skelton last term and quick to make her mark for current yard with success in 5-runner handicap hurdle at Leicester (20.5f, heavy) in January. Possibly found the race coming too soon when down the field at Market Rasen next time, so needs to bounce back. Impressed at Leicester and didn't appear to be quite on her game at Market Rasen. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
TEQUILA BLAZE had plenty left in the locker when scoring at Southwell last month and she is hardly overburdened, despite stepping up in class, off a 7lb higher mark. The manner of that success created the impression the 10-year-old is more than capable of holding her own back at this sort of level and another big run is expected. Just Go For It wasn't hard pressed to score over 2m3f at Taunton and is feared as a potential improver over this longer distance. Sabrina and Chloe's Court complete the shortlist.
ELLE EST BEAU looked to have taken the measure of her rivals only to crash out at the last at Sandown a couple of months ago so, provided she's none the worse for that spill, she can gain compensation at the expense of Chloe's Court, who is nearly twice as old as the selection but arrives in the form of her life. Sabrina and last-time-out scorer Tequila Blaze can fight out minor honours.
January's Newbury winner GAYE LEGACY gives the impression that she stays all day and is better than she showed last time at Doncaster.

1st (2) (5/6 +17%) Juniper |
5/6(+17%) | (2) Juniper 5/6, Won twice for Harry Whittington in 2022/23 and left yard/reappearance effort in her wake when readily landing 4-runner mares' handicap at Taunton (21.7f) 4 weeks ago, going well when left clear 3 out. Remains low mileage for her age and big shout back up in trip. Has very mixed record over fences but looked in excellent nick when winning last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (9/2 +18%) Shirocco's Dream |
9/2(+18%) | (4) Shirocco's Dream 9/2, Enhanced good record fresh when making all at Hereford (25.2f) in November. Found things tougher in class 2 company next time and probably didn't go off fast enough when done for speed back down in trip at Huntingdon since. Not taken lightly back from a break. Dual chase winner on good ground; has form on soft but others appeal more all the same. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (7/1 -27%) Lilith |
7/1(-27%) | (1) Lilith 7/1, Notched third success over fences at Carlisle last term and resumed winning ways in unimpressive fashion in that corresponding event last month, looking held 2 out. In process of running below that form when departing at Taunton since, weakening behind stablemate Juniper when falling heavily 3 out. Won two starts ago but was struggling to keep up with Juniper before falling last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (3) (7/1 -40%) Touchy Feely |
7/1(-40%) | (3) Touchy Feely 7/1, Won first 2 starts over hurdles last season. Not up to Grade 2 company at Sandown next time but disappointed following a breathing operation and a 12-week break at Ffos Las in May. Struck into when pulled up on chase bow at Kempton in November on return so worth another chance. Up in trip. Off since pulled up on chase debut in November but could still have significant potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (5) (15/2 -36%) Whatsdastory |
15/2(-36%) | (5) Whatsdastory 15/2, Often gives her running so no surprise to see her back on track when 11 lengths second of 4 to Juniper in handicap chase (5/1) at Taunton (21.7f, heavy) 27 days ago. Let down by jumping on that occasion and 6 lb better off with the winner here, so entitled to finish a bit closer. On a good mark now but was unable to lay a glove on Juniper when second last month. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
JUNIPER beat Whatsdastory (second) and stablemate Lilith (fell three out when weakening) when returning from a 133-day break to bolt up over an extended 2m5f at Taunton, and she has only been put up 4lb. Anthony Honeyball's mare is fairly unexposed for her age and looks the one to beat again. Touchy Feely had excuses when pulled up at Kempton in November and she would be foolish to dismiss on only her second chase start off the same rating.
JUNIPER impressed with her jumping when resuming winning ways on just her second start for this yard at Taunton last month and a 4 lb rise may well underestimate this low-mileage 10-y-o. Shirocco's Dream has had excuses since making a winning return at Hereford so may pose the biggest threat.
She's not one to rely upon too heavily but JUNIPER comes here after a dominant performance over 2m5f at Taunton last month.

1st (2) (9/2 -50%) Denemethy |
9/2(-50%) | (2) Denemethy 9/2, Irish point winner who was strong in betting and produced a promising first effort under Rules when second in a Carlisle bumper in November. Entitled to come on for his hurdles debut effort at Chepstow in January and return to a right-handed track may also help. Tongue strap on/had wind op. Point winner; ability in a bumper; quiet hurdle debut but had wind surgery since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (4/9 +56%) Goonhilly |
4/9(+56%) | (3) Goonhilly 4/9, Fairly useful form in pair of bumpers and done enough to think a race of this nature is within his grasp, second in a C&D maiden before a respectable sixth in Imperial Cup at Sandown 18 days ago. Big player back in maiden company with cheekpieces now enlisted. Three times a runner-up over hurdles and he was midfield in the Imperial Cup last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (9/1 -29%) Rangatira Jack |
9/1(-29%) | (4) Rangatira Jack 9/1, Well held in 2 bumpers last spring but he did surpass his previous hurdles exploits when 9 lengths fourth of 12 in a C&D maiden last month, under a more positive ride. Can get involved with a repeat. Much improved here last month when beaten under 10l behind respected opposition. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (10) (16/1 -33%) Gold For Alec |
16/1(-33%) | (10) Gold For Alec 16/1, Showed some promise in 2 bumpers and similar story when fourth in 4-y-o hurdle on debut in this sphere at Hereford (16.2f) 31 days ago. Feasible to think he can build on that and gets weight all round. Didn't run too badly to be a 12l fourth at Hereford after making an early mistake. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (50/1 -25%) Snapdance |
50/1(-25%) | (5) Snapdance 50/1, Dragon Dancer gelding who didn't offer much in a couple of starts in bumpers and he'll need to settle better now his attentions switch to timber. Beaten more than 20l in his two bumpers (heavy/soft) and he wouldn't be the obvious answer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (10/1 -67%) Golden Millie |
10/1(-67%) | (8) Golden Millie 10/1, Fair bumper winner last season who offered something to work on starting out over hurdles when fifth in mares' novice company at Lingfield (2m) back in December. Likely she can do better again in this sphere as she gains experience. Fair level of ability in bumpers; beaten 12l on hurdle debut after some novicey jumping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (150/1 -200%) Barley Gin |
150/1(-200%) | (6) Barley Gin 150/1, No short-term promise in a bumper/pair of novice hurdle runs so far this term. No worthwhile form in a bumper and two hurdles at Taunton; one for handicaps later on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (125/1 -150%) Admiral Fitz |
125/1(-150%) | (1) Admiral Fitz 125/1, 6-y-o who is bred more for the Flat but finished runner-up on completed start in points (April 2023). However, easy to back and never figured when fourth of 5 on C&D hurdles debut 4 weeks ago. Hood worn then retained here. 50-1 and finished a long way behind Goonhilly here last month; no appeal for now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) (200/1 -203%) Bollywollywotsit |
200/1(-203%) | (7) Bollywollywotsit 200/1, Big prices and no promise to glean from pair of hurdle runs last summer. Easy enough to look elsewhere on return to action. Pulled up on hurdle debut and tailed off at Stratford when 150-1 and tried in cheekpieces. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Point-to-point winner Maryollie makes her debut under Rules after changing hands for 45,000 pounds last month and it would be no surprise to see her get into contention. However, the vote goes to DENEMETHY, who ran too badly to be true on his hurdling bow at Chepstow and has since undergone wind surgery. Fergal O'Brien has his string in good order at present and he could add another to the tally. Rangatira Jack is noted after his fourth over track and trip.
GOONHILLY was far from disgraced when sixth in the Imperial Cup at Sandown earlier this month and this looks a good opportunity for Dan Skelton's 6-y-o to get off the mark returned to calmer waters with cheekpieces enlisted. Denemethy and Golden Millie are others to consider, with Rules newcomer Maryollie one to monitor in the betting for clues.
After performing respectably in the Imperial Cup, GOONHILLY has been found a good opportunity. Denemethy retains potential.

1st (1) (1/4 +14%) Don't Tell Su |
1/4(+14%) | (1) Don't Tell Su 1/4, Successful in bumpers and fairly useful form shown when runner-up in novice hurdles around 2m4f at Chepstow and Hereford. The clear form choice. Bumper winner and placed in all his hurdles; this looks his best opportunity yet. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (22/1 +33%) Victory Club |
22/1(+33%) | (5) Victory Club 22/1, Point winner who also landed a bumper for Dan Skelton in spring 2022. Off 19 months before coming in only tenth for his new yard in novice hurdle at Taunton (16.5f, soft) 16 days ago. Lots more required. Point/bumper winner; back with Harriet Dickin he was tailed off at Taunton when 50-1. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (8/1 +50%) Jacobs Acre |
8/1(+50%) | (3) Jacobs Acre 8/1, Fair form shown in bumpers, fifth of 10 at Exeter (16.7f, heavy) 45 days ago. No forlorn hope on his hurdles debut. Positives to take from bumper debut but hasn't built on that; hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (22/1 +12%) Basman Palace |
22/1(+12%) | (7) Basman Palace 22/1, Poor hurdler who posted a good third of 8 in novice hurdle at this C&D 55 days ago. More is needed here, however. Questionable what he achieved here last time and probably one for handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (66/1 -32%) Meraki Mist |
66/1(-32%) | (4) Meraki Mist 66/1, Down the field in 2 bumpers and also in 2 starts over hurdles (latest after 14 months off at Chepstow in December), jumping sketchily both occasions. Impossible to fancy. Ran okay in one bumper but nothing else to shout about, including two novice hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (4/1 -33%) Zoeman |
4/1(-33%) | (6) Zoeman 4/1, Made a promising start when runner-up in juvenile hurdle at Ffos Las and built on it after 17 months off when fifth of 15 in novice at Ludlow (15.8f, heavy) 35 days ago. In the mix. Back from an absence to finish fifth at Ludlow and that race is working out well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (100/1 -52%) Square Du Roule |
100/1(-52%) | (9) Square Du Roule 100/1, Midfield in 2 bumpers towards the end of 2023 and well held both starts over hurdles this year. Easy to look elsewhere. Beaten 27l in his first bumper and a lot further since then, the last twice over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (66/1 +0%) Bella Cavalla |
66/1(+0%) | (8) Bella Cavalla 66/1, Milan mare who has failed to show much both starts over hurdles. Others appeal more. Beaten a long way in a bumper and two hurdles; one for further down the line. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
DON'T TELL SU looks to have been found the perfect opportunity to open his account over hurdles. The Paul Nicholls-trained six-year-old has filled the frame on all three outings in this discipline and, with his opposition having plenty to prove, he's hard to oppose. Zoeman offered something to work with on his fifth-placed return at Ludlow last month. He may give the selection most to think about, ahead of Jacobs Acre.
DON'T TELL SU possesses much the best form on show and looks to have been found an excellent opportunity to get off the mark in this sphere. The progressive Zoeman rates much the biggest threat to Paul Nicholls' fairly useful sort, with newcomer Jacobs Acre appealing as the pick of the rest for minor honours.
It's extremely difficult to see past DON'T TELL SU who has been competitive in appreciably better races than this one.

5/2(-11%) | (1) Plaisir Des Flos 5/2, Took a big step forward upped in trip on handicap debut when winning 10-runner event at Sedgefield (19.8f, heavy) 15 days ago, going clear. More to come now up and running. Up 9lb for his easy Sedgefield win but he's far from exposed. |

2nd (10) (5/2 +58%) Jasmin De Grugy |
5/2(+58%) | (10) Jasmin De Grugy 5/2, In frame completed start in Irish points but has offered little in a trio of outings over hurdles and a transformation required if he's to start his handicap career with a bang over this longer trip. Tongue strap on for 1st time. Poor so far but tongue-tie added now he goes handicapping off a basement mark. |

22/1(-38%) | (5) Just Aidan 22/1, Winner of sole outing in points. Finished tailed off in his only start in bumpers but has hinted at ability in 3 quick runs over hurdles and may do better now upped in trip on handicap debut. Beaten 21l in his latest maiden and that offers some hope ahead of this handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (80/1 -142%) Royal Regard |
80/1(-142%) | (8) Royal Regard 80/1, Lightly-raced maiden on Flat who has made little impact over hurdles, including in handicaps the last twice. Significantly up in trip. Gets away from heavy ground but he has been beaten 56l and 35l in his two handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (12) (40/1 -60%) Milton Boy |
40/1(-60%) | (12) Milton Boy 40/1, Is yet to show any ability, including in handicaps. First run after a breathing op. Very minor form in his five runs and goes handicapping after wind surgery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (11) (80/1 -300%) Onnaroll |
80/1(-300%) | (11) Onnaroll 80/1, Poor maiden who remains with one standout effort. Back up in trip and fitted with a first-time tongue strap. Not living up to his name as a 14-race maiden; can be keen and inconsistent. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (8/1 +0%) The Cox Express |
8/1(+0%) | (6) The Cox Express 8/1, Won Warwick bumper in January for Tom Lacey. Largely disappointing over hurdles but showed his first worthwhile form when third in 8-runner handicap at Fontwell (19.2f, heavy) 6 weeks ago. Cheekpieces on for 1st time and good chance if building on that. Some light at the end of the tunnel after running third over this trip at Fontwell. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (4) (18/1 -29%) Bala Brook |
18/1(-29%) | (4) Bala Brook 18/1, Modest in bumpers and similar form when runner-up first 2 starts over hurdles but has made no impact in handicaps the last twice and has something to prove following a breathing operation. Tongue strap also fitted. Stopped quickly in his handicaps; does have ability and he's had a wind op. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (7/2 +13%) Johannes |
7/2(+13%) | (7) Johannes 7/2, Fair 2m winner on the Flat in France who stepped up considerably on his previous hurdling efforts upped in trip when making all on handicap debut at Taunton (19f, heavy) 27 days ago. Up 6 lb but may do better still. Improved for 2m3f when making all for a successful handicap debut at Taunton; up 6lb. |

|PU| (9) (15/2 +53%) Ballymagee |
15/2(+53%) | (9) Ballymagee 15/2, Often let down by his jumping over fences and looks best watched on this return to hurdling. Ability is there to run well off this low a mark and he's not had much racing over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (33/1 -230%) Dances On The Sand |
33/1(-230%) | (3) Dances On The Sand 33/1, Showed promise in novice/maiden hurdles back in the spring of 2022 and remains capable of better in handicaps despite his long absence. Watch betting. Handicap newcomer who needs checking in the betting on this belated return. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Johannes and Plaisir Des Flos are sure to have their supporters having created a fine impression on their respective handicap bow victories at Taunton and Sedgefield, but they may play second fiddle to CLINTON LANE. Mark Gillard's charge toppled a 111-rated rival when opening his account in a maiden hurdle at Fontwell last week. A wind procedure appeared to unlock his true potential that day and the six-year-old is fancied to defy his penalty.
There's surely more to come from PLAISIR DES FLOS now up and running, so he's taken to defy a 9 lb rise for Sedgefield and make it 2 wins from as many starts in handicaps. Clinton Lane pulled off a shock win at Fontwell last week and is well-in if reproducing that effort back in a handicap, while Johannes represents the in-form David Pipe team and could also have more to offer.
A chance is taken on JASMIN DE GRUGY in the hope that market vibes bode well ahead of his handicap debut in a first-time tongue-tie.

1st (5) (7/2 -17%) Imperial Guard |
7/2(-17%) | (5) Imperial Guard 7/2, Shaped well when placed both starts in 7f novices here, possibly kicking for home too early when beaten by a smart prospect in October. Drop to 6f could well suit at this stage and he's a big player. Placed in two 7f runs here as a 2yo, behind smart sorts on both occasions; solid contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (13/2 -86%) Sky Wizard |
13/2(-86%) | (3) Sky Wizard 13/2, Confirmed debut promise when landing odds in 7-runner novice event (5/6) at Salisbury (6f, firm) in June, responding well. Off since but player with more to come. Strong at the finish when winning at Salisbury 288 days ago; absent since; more to come. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (5/2 -11%) Gamekeeper |
5/2(-11%) | (1) Gamekeeper 5/2, Blue Point colt who very much caught the eye at York on debut in October before landing the odds with plenty to spare in Wolverhampton maiden 10 days later. In top hands so must be respected. Promising York debut before a ready Wolverhampton win (both 6f) last October; more to come. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (5/4 +50%) Mukaafah |
5/4(+50%) | (2) Mukaafah 5/4, Failed to meet expectations when heavily backed for debut but made no mistake when blitzing his rivals in C&D novice in November. Rates a useful prospect. Impressive front-running win over C&D in Nov (good Topspeed figure); leading contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (150/1 -200%) Baroque Buoy |
150/1(-200%) | (4) Baroque Buoy 150/1, Twice-raced maiden. Seventh of 12 in maiden (100/1) at Southwell (7.1f) 13 days ago. More promise than the result suggested last time; likely one for handicaps after this. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
SKY WIZARD confirmed the promise he showed on his debut at Windsor to justify favouritism by two lengths at Salisbury back in June, and now makes his return to action. Clive Cox's colt is expected to make up into a better three-year-old and with any amount of improvement to come, he can defy his penalty. Gamekeeper and Mukaafah are also last-time-out winners, with preference for the former to pose the biggest threat to the selection after his comfortable triumph at Wolverhampton in October.
IMPERIAL GUARD possibly went for home too soon when picked off by a smart prospect here in October and the weight he receives from penalised winners Mukaafah, Sky Wizard and Gamekeeper may prove decisive in what looks a strong novice.
Mukaafah looks the pick of the penalised winners but IMPERIAL GUARD can capitalise on the weight he receives.

1st (5) (6/4 +0%) So Quiet |
6/4(+0%) | (5) So Quiet 6/4, Zoustar gelding who shaped promisingly when fourth of 12 in minor event at this C&D on debut 25 days ago, caught further back than ideal. That race has substance and with improvement expected he's of definite interest despite a less-than-ideal draw. Promising debut (close fourth, clear of rest) in C&D event 25 days ago; leading claims. |

2nd (9) (9/2 -13%) Cuban Melody |
9/2(-13%) | (9) Cuban Melody 9/2, 155,000 gns yearling, Havana Grey filly. Dam unreliable winner up to 7f (2-y-o 6f winner). Likely type for very good stable. 155,000gns yearling; major stable had a winning 3yo newcomer here two weeks ago. |

4th (13) (25/1 -56%) Midnight Drive |
25/1(-56%) | (13) Midnight Drive 25/1, Twice-raced maiden. Fifth of 10 in minor event at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 50/1) 58 days ago, hanging left over 1f out and weakening. In good hands and handicaps entitled to be more her bag. Gives the impression that handicaps will be her ideal scene. |

50/1(-100%) | (8) Tribal Chief 50/1, Once-raced maiden. Tongue strap on, eighth of 12 in minor event at this C&D (28/1) on debut 25 days ago, merely passing beaten rivals. Finished about 10l behind So Quiet here on debut; needs to improve plenty. |

6th (11) (11/4 +21%) Golden Myrrh |
11/4(+21%) | (11) Golden Myrrh 11/4, 200,000 gns yearling, Frankel filly. In need of the experience but was definitely getting the hang of things late on when fifth of 10 in maiden (13/2) at Newbury (6.5f, firm) on debut back in June. Absent/undergone wind surgery since and highly likely there's more to come. Frankel filly who made promising late headway at Newbury on sole 2yo start; shortlisted. |

7th (6) (33/1 -32%) Spartan Warrior |
33/1(-32%) | (6) Spartan Warrior 33/1, Twice-raced maiden. Tenth of 12 in minor event at Wolverhampton (9.5f) in December, running green straight and one paced. Gelded since but handicaps promise to be more his thing this term. Down the field in both 2yo starts; gelded since. |

8th (12) (125/1 -279%) Loose Tongue |
125/1(-279%) | (12) Loose Tongue 125/1, Once-raced maiden. 50/1 and hooded, fifth of 8 in minor event at Wolverhampton (7.2f) on debut 18 days ago, slowly into stride and never a threat. One for later on. Ran to a modest figure at Wolverhampton 18 days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) (200/1 -506%) Time To Roll |
200/1(-506%) | (7) Time To Roll 200/1, Time Test gelding. Looked badly in need of the experience when seventh of 9 in maiden at this course (1m) on debut 53 days ago, off bridle long way out. This should reveal more. Ran to a meagre RPR at this course (1m) on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (10) (200/1 -506%) Garden View |
200/1(-506%) | (10) Garden View 200/1, Twice-raced maiden. 8/1, went backwards from her debut when seventh of 9 in maiden at Southwell (7.1f) in October. Changed hands for 6,000 gns later that month and she's another likely to be better served by handicaps in due course. Needs improvement on debut for new stable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (4) (13/2 +54%) Show Me A Hero |
13/2(+54%) | (4) Show Me A Hero 13/2, Twice-raced maiden. Improved on debut form when fourth of 8 in minor event at Chelmsford (7f) in November, keeping on without being knocked about. Gelded subsequently and no surprise to see him capable of better still. Eyecatching fourth at Chelmsford when last seen; open to further improvement. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
SO QUIET would have gone into many notebooks after his highly encouraging fourth over C&D, especially as he was slowly away. With that experience under his belt and with normal progression, he can deliver on that debut promise. Show Me A Hero improved on his underwhelming introduction to finish an eyecatching fourth at Chelmsford in November and he has been gelded since, so has to be respected under James Doyle. Cuban Melody, a 155,000gns yearling, needs monitoring in the market.
SO QUIET has a tricky draw to contend with but he shaped with definite promise when fourth on debut in a C&D novice that looks solid form and with progress anticipated, he gets the nod to build on that. Golden Myrrh looks another sure-fire improver following her encouraging Newbury run last June and is respected on return. Cuban Melody and Nazionale are a couple of interesting newcomers to monitor.
Preference is for SO QUIET, ahead of Golden Myrrh. Newcomers Nazionale and Cuban Melody look interesting.

2nd (1) (5/6 +49%) Cracking Gold |
5/6(+49%) | (1) Cracking Gold 5/6, Off the mark over C&D in January and improved on that when taking 7-runner minor event at Lingfield (7f, AW) 37 days ago. Likely more to come on handicap debut. Promising colt who is two from two; strongly respected with further progress on the cards. |

9/2(+10%) | (6) Juantorena 9/2, Lightly-raced maiden. 5/2 and visored for 1st time, respectable third of 8 in minor event at Epsom (7f, good to firm). Off 6 months. Gelded since last run and may do better now sent handicapping. This switch to handicap level may suit and he gets weight all round. |

20/1(-82%) | (4) Nazalan 20/1, 5/1, fourth of 6 in nursery at York (6f, good). Off 6 months. Makes polytrack debut. Others look better treated. Gelded since last start. Something to prove in this new scenario (upped to 7f on AW debut). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (10/1 -82%) Dr Foster |
10/1(-82%) | (3) Dr Foster 10/1, Course winner (8f) in October. Creditable third of 6 in handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f, 11/4) 12 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Likely to give another good account. Consistent sort who has posted two sound efforts this year; likely to go well. |

6th (5) (28/1 -300%) Commander Crouch |
28/1(-300%) | (5) Commander Crouch 28/1, Winner at Southwell in September. 12/1, seventh of 9 in nursery at Newmarket (7f, good to soft), never nearer. Off 165 days. Looks vulnerable on first outing for new yard. Gelded since last start. Return to AW looks the angle with him (1-1 in this sphere); new stable. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
CRACKING GOLD has really impressed in both of his triumphs to date, including when making all to defy a penalty by over five lengths at Lingfield last month. Clive Cox's colt could have plenty more to offer and can strike off an opening mark of 88. Dr Foster was denied by the smallest of margins over an extended mile at Wolverhampton two starts ago and a reproduction of that effort will put him bang there off 3lb higher. Commander Crouch warrants a market check on his first start for the Jim Boyle stable.
It's hard to get away from CRACKING GOLD, who easily followed up his course debut victory at Lingfield last month and remains open to improvement. Dr Foster may give him most to think about.
The signs are that CRACKING GOLD has the talent to defy top weight now handicapping. Havanagreattime is feared most.

1st (1) (6/5 +52%) Mount Athos |
6/5(+52%) | (1) Mount Athos 6/5, 3-time C&D winner, including in this event 12 months ago. Disappointing when an odds-on fifth of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 92 days ago but no surprise to see him bounce back. Useful front-runner; 3-3 at Kempton, including a success in this race last year; respected. |

2nd (4) (25/1 -233%) Mums Tipple |
25/1(-233%) | (4) Mums Tipple 25/1, Smart gelding at his best but he came in last of 6 in listed race at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 11/1) 18 days ago. Needs to bounce back. Won off this mark at Chelmsford last March; inconsistent since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (5/2 +17%) Mostabshir |
5/2(+17%) | (3) Mostabshir 5/2, Course winner who was gelded before recording a very good fifth of 9 in handicap at Chelmsford City (8f) 144 days ago. Blinkers back on and looks to have more to offer. Player. Return to 7f is worth exploring; impressive on two occasions; may yet fulfil that promise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (9/1 -125%) Rohaan |
9/1(-125%) | (2) Rohaan 9/1, C&D winner who posted a good fifth of 12 in handicap at Lingfield (6f, AW, 14/1) 26 days ago. Can give another good account. Good 6f performer; on a handy mark; won over C&D early in career and enters the reckoning. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (7/2 -17%) Arabian Storm |
7/2(-17%) | (5) Arabian Storm 7/2, Lightly-raced winner in 2023 but not seen after a very good ¾-length third of 8 to Shouldvebeenaring in listed race at Newmarket (7f, good) in May. Much respected all the same on his return/handicap debut. Lightly raced; ran well in Listed grade at Newmarket last May; the type to improve further. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (40/1 -100%) Soar Above |
40/1(-100%) | (6) Soar Above 40/1, 3-time C&D winner and a good second of 7 in handicap at this C&D (9/1) 60 days ago. It's now 16 runs since his last win in 2022 though. Vulnerable back up in grade and he's on a two-year losing spell. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
The unexposed ARABIAN STORM finished an excellent third in a hot Listed race at Newmarket when last seen and, off a mark of 95 on his handicap bow, the impeccably-bred son of Kingman may prove tough to peg back if adopting his usual positive tactics. Mostabshir could only manage fifth in a Chelmsford handicap over a mile in November, but better is anticipated and he is feared most for his in-form stable. Classy sprinter Rohaan should appreciate the expected strong pace and he will be trying to score with his customary late bid.
None of these can be ruled out but the lightly-raced 4-y-o MOSTABSHIR appeals as a likely improver in 2024 so is taken to make a winning return on just his second handicap start. Last year's victor Mount Athos could emerge as the chief threat, although both Rohaan and Arabian Storm also need factoring into this useful handicap.
Being 3-3 at Kempton and under James Doyle, MOUNT ATHOS (nap) has particularly strong claims. Arabian Storm is second choice.

13/8(+54%) | (4) Break The Bank 13/8, Fair maiden. Good third of 7 in minor event at Newbury (7f, heavy) 6 months ago. Gelded and appeals as sort to do better now handicapping. Improvement needed to defy this mark now handicapping but that would seem quite likely. |

2nd (6) (5/1 -43%) Beauty Generation |
5/1(-43%) | (6) Beauty Generation 5/1, Fair winner at 2 yrs. Gelded having slipped in weights and resumed with a very good neck second of 11 to Rey De La Batalla in handicap (17/2) at this C&D 25 days ago. Can go well again. Career best when 2nd to Rey De La Batalla over C&D 25 days ago; needs more up 3lb. |

3rd (1) (6/1 +0%) Cocktail Dress |
6/1(+0%) | (1) Cocktail Dress 6/1, Lightly-raced winner. Winner at Chelmsford City in February. 3/1, fourth of 6 in handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 12 days ago, left poorly placed. One to consider. 1m novice winner last month; dropped away on recent handicap debut; career best required. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (7/1 -133%) Rey De La Batalla |
7/1(-133%) | (5) Rey De La Batalla 7/1, Much improved since sent into handicaps and he arrives on a hat-trick after recent wins at Lingfield and C&D. Firmly in the picture despite taking a 4 lb rise. Won his last two, latterly over C&D this month; up 4lb but he's going the right way. |

5th (2) (7/1 +65%) Sonmarg |
7/1(+65%) | (2) Sonmarg 7/1, Lightly-raced winner. Tongue strap on for 1st time, last of 11 in nursery at Newmarket (7f, good to soft, 50/1). Off 154 days/gelded. More needed on his polytrack debut. Flopped on soft when last seen but fair ability beforehand; should do better this year. |

7th (7) (22/1 -214%) Sovereign Nation |
22/1(-214%) | (7) Sovereign Nation 22/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Off 8 months before coming in fifth of 6 in maiden at Chelmsford City (7f, 2/1) 34 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Others have achieved more. A shade disappointing on his return but up in trip for handicap debut & still low mileage. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
COCKTAIL DRESS was the subject of market support ahead of her handicap debut at Wolverhampton and although she could only manage fourth after racing wide and hanging in the straight, it may pay to be in a forgiving mood with her turned out again quickly. The hat-trick seeking Rey De La Batalla warrants respect, but a 4lb rise for a narrow victory over C&D asks a question of him. Burdett has shown enough ability to suggest that he can play a hand in a race of this nature and he commands attention on his return.
REY DE LA BATALLA hasn't looked back since sent into handicaps and is fancied to rattle off a quick hat-trick despite having a career-high mark to overcome. Both Burdett (second choice) and Cocktail Dress have better days ahead of them too in this company and can ensure Simon Dow's upwardly-mobile colt doesn't have things all his own way.
Burdett and Sonmarg are interesting after a break but so is the well-related BREAK THE BANK and he's tentatively preferred.

7/2(+13%) | (4) Two Past Eight 7/2, Visored when good fourth of 9 in C&D handicap 35 days ago. Blinkers the headgear of choice this time. Largely consistent. Very close fourth over C&D last time; respected off the same mark in new headgear. |

7th (1) (50/1 -317%) Seahouses |
50/1(-317%) | (1) Seahouses 50/1, Fairly useful but temperamental maiden for Ralph Beckett on the Flat last year. No impact in 3 juvenile hurdles for new yard and a watching brief is advised back on the level. Chance of winning partly depends on how well he takes to new scenario (AW debut). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (28/1 -100%) Smart Champion |
28/1(-100%) | (6) Smart Champion 28/1, C&D winner. Fifteen runs since last win in 2022. Sixth of 9 in C&D handicap 35 days ago, although he was set a lot to do. Eased another 2 lb since. Finished behind two of these rivals here five weeks ago; not the likely winner. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
ABRAAJ has shown improvement in two starts since undergoing wind surgery and on the back of comfortably accounting for a subsequent winner at Newcastle, the Simon Pearce-trained six-year-old is hard to oppose, despite a 4lb higher mark. C&D winner Zivaniya is suggested as the pick of the rest, although it will be interesting to see where Two Past Eight figures in the market with first-time blinkers added.
ABRAAJ has had the form of his latest Newcastle win franked so might be well treated up 4 lb. Something presumably can't have been right with Lawmaker at Wolverhampton and he can bounce back returned to this venue and provide the chief threat ahead of Zivaniya.
Abraaj and Two Past Eight are set for an interesting rematch, while a solid alternative is ZIVANIYA.

1st (2) (8/1 +0%) Libra Tiger |
8/1(+0%) | (2) Libra Tiger 8/1, C&D winner. 6/1, bit below form fourth of 8 in C&D handicap 21 days ago. On a good mark if staging a revival. Conditions fine and dropping into a Class 6 should help; each-way shout. |

2nd (3) (10/3 +52%) Abolish |
10/3(+52%) | (3) Abolish 10/3, One win from 28 Flat runs. Nineteen runs since last win in 2022. Fourth of 7 in handicap (10/3) at Southwell (5f) 7 days ago. Back up in trip. On a lowly mark and should make his presence felt down into a Class 6 for the first time. |

3rd (7) (12/1 +14%) Profit And Loss |
12/1(+14%) | (7) Profit And Loss 12/1, Three wins over sprint trips on Jersey last year. Looks on a competitive mark back in Britain for new trainer George Baker. 3 wins in Jersey last summer; had wind surgery prior to his stable debut; betting to guide. |

4th (5) (9/4 +36%) Revolucion |
9/4(+36%) | (5) Revolucion 9/4, Won over 6f at Wolverhampton in December. Two good runner-up efforts over 7f at Lingfield in cheekpieces this month. Won't need to pull out much more for a change of headgear (first-time blinkers now). This mark not beyond him & comes here in form; not easy to win with though; new headgear. |

5th (1) (9/2 -29%) First Company |
9/2(-29%) | (1) First Company 9/2, C&D winner in January. 10/1, creditable second of 7 over C&D 14 days ago. Respected. Two C&D wins this winter & ran well behind one who's followed up since 2 weeks ago; solid. |

6th (11) (18/1 -13%) South Dakota Sioux |
18/1(-13%) | (11) South Dakota Sioux 18/1, Ended 2023 with some creditable placed efforts but has struggled in 3 outings this year. Best to look elsewhere unless the betting hints that a revival is anticipated. Possesses more ability than his current mark; chance if the race sets up favourably. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (9/1 -29%) Starsong |
9/1(-29%) | (4) Starsong 9/1, Latest win at Wolverhampton in February. Runner-up twice this month (including C&D) but needs to shrug off a lesser run at Newcastle (5f, 14/1) last week. Hood back on. Form dipped over 5f last week but she'd been threatening another win beforehand. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (12) (9/1 -29%) Beauen Arrows |
9/1(-29%) | (12) Beauen Arrows 9/1, Remains a maiden after 18 starts but he has been a good second over 7f here on his last 2 outings. Enters calculations back at 6f. Runner-up over 7f here on his last two starts; 0-18 but should make another bold bid. |

9th (9) (33/1 -106%) Many A Year |
33/1(-106%) | (9) Many A Year 33/1, Fifth of 8 in handicap (80/1) in C&D 21 days ago. One of 3 runners for the stable. Best watched unless the betting says otherwise. Not shone for new yard but tumbling down the weights; betting likely to predict a revival. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (33/1 -106%) Lady Nagin |
33/1(-106%) | (10) Lady Nagin 33/1, 9/2, below form fourth of 8 in handicap at Chelmsford (6f) when last seen in October. First run for yard after leaving Sean Woods. Hood back on. Won two 6f AW handicaps for S Woods last year; lowly mark for stable debut; check betting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (6) (66/1 -450%) Batchelor Boy |
66/1(-450%) | (6) Batchelor Boy 66/1, Latest win at Brighton in October. Fourth of 5 in handicap (9/4) at Brighton (5.3f, heavy). Off 160 days. Should be winning more races this season but perhaps not this one back from a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (8) (66/1 -313%) Sounds Of Spring |
66/1(-313%) | (8) Sounds Of Spring 66/1, Fairly useful at his best in Ireland but hasn't beaten a rival in 2 outings in Britain for new trainer John Butler. Could only consider if backed. No impact in two runs for new yard (who run three here) this year; now tried in a hood. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Swapping cheekpieces for blinkers could be a shrewd move by the connections of REVOLUCION as he bids to atone for a couple of near-misses over 7f. With the new headgear tried, dropping back in trip could also be key in the four-year-old's attempt to gain an overdue second career success. First Company is a dual C&D winner and rates a big threat off a competitive mark. Abolish holds solid place claims now dropped to a class 6 for the first time.
REVOLUCION has been knocking on the door over 7f here and can come good back down in trip in new headgear. Beauen Arrows has been runner-up over slightly further here on his last 2 starts and rates an obvious threat, while First Company has 2 wins, 2 seconds and a fourth to show for his last 5 outings over C&D so is also a must for the shortlist.
First Company is a solid option but ABOLISH may capitalise on this first foray into Class 6 company.
