LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

SPECULATRIX won a Punchestown bumper on debut but certainly hasn't enjoyed much luck over hurdles. The selection was set to score when falling at the last in Killarney last autumn and following two disappointing efforts, suffered another final flight exit at Navan earlier this month. The Gordon Elliott-trained mare held a slight advantage when again falling at the last in the maiden won by stablemate Swing Davis, with Magic Day beaten over 20 lengths in third. Cork bumper winner Ufouria and Billie Frechette are others to consider.

A excellent chance for SPECULATRIX to make amends for her last-flight fall at Navan last time when set to win. Magic Day is next best ahead of Ufouria in a thin event.

It looked as if SPECULATRIX was gaining the upper hand when exiting at the last at Navan and she is tipped to make amends

Bumper winner, fine effort on hurdles debut at Naas, sounder surface fine, big chance.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

WALK ON THE BEACH won a Killarney bumper last summer and created a good impression on his return when tacking hurdles for the first time at Naas last month. Runner-up that day to a Willie Mullins-trained odds-on favourite, the six-year-old is expected to have improved for the run and this slight step up in trip will suit too. Krak's third to Ballybow is good form and he must enter calculations for a shrewd yard, while Hello Jack boasts a similar profile and point-to-point winner Sporting Glance could get closer to the selection now sent hurdling after a break.

KRAK shaped well in a couple of similar events around the turn of the year and can make it third time lucky. Bumper winner Walk On The Beach rates an obvious danger on the back of his hurdle debut second last month, while Hello Jack should have more to offer for Gordon Elliott.

WALK ON THE BEACH is preferred, he shaped well on his hurdling debut at Naas and he should improve for this better ground

Has benefited from November wind surgery but he's probably one for the longer term..
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

A relatively promising second on his UK debut here last month, LE GALLI BIER is likely to improve for going up in trip and this represents an ideal opportunity for him to get off the mark. Now in the hands of Karen Jewell after going winless in six starts over hurdles in Ireland, John The Spark is not to be underestimated. Sonification is another to note for the in-form Harry Derham team.

LE GALLI BIER can step up on his run here last time and make it second time lucky for new connections. John The Spark could pose a threat if reproducing the pick of his Irish form, while Sonification can also play a prominent role if shrugging off a couple of lesser runs in handicaps.

Dwight K Schrute is respected but the suggestion is the relatively unexposed 4yo LE GALLI BIER.

SMALL DOSES stepped up on the form of his first two runs over hurdles and caught the attention of the stewards when staying on into fourth behind Ethical Diamond at Punchestown last month. The selection is reportedly a temperamental gelding but may have found a good opportunity to open his account in this race for horses that have yet to finish in the first three. Beckistine has been soundly beaten in three bumper outings but is an obvious threat judged on his only hurdle run at Limerick, where he'd just struck the front when falling at the final flight. Half Past Tipsy and Ned In The Park look the pick of the remainder.

BECKISTINE again failed to threaten in a bumper last time but he's the clear pick returned to this sphere. Indeed, he looked set to make a winning hurdles debut prior to falling at the last at Limerick in January. Small Doses appears to be getting the hang of things judged on his improved effort at Punchestown and he is preferred to Catchabird, Lambay Island and Ned In The Park for forecast purposes.

Given a home reputation as a temperamental sort, SMALL DOSES is possibly a risky proposition but his Punchetrown run was promising

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

ALI STAR BERT produced another fair effort to only be denied by two lengths into second at this venue last month, and he's only 2lb higher. The nine-year-old has two previous course victories to his name and it would be no surprise to see him get his head back in front. Impatient failed to back up his success at Ffos Las when only fourth at Leicester in November, but he might be worth another chance after a break. Dr Kananga is next best.

ALI STAR BERT enhanced his fine record at this course with another solid placed effort 4 weeks ago and Shaun Harris' 9-y-o is fancied to go one better at the expense of Ultra Beat, who has made a promising start to his chasing career but needs to shrug a lesser effort at Chepstow last time. Impatient, who is returning from 4 months off, rounds off the shortlist.

Recent Doncaster third DR KANANGA is taken to get the better of Ultra Beat, who is visored for the first time.

TIMMY TUESDAY was a ready winner at Ayr before recording a respectable third in a class 2 novice hurdle at Exeter. Those two runs look to be the strongest pieces of form and Gordon Elliott's lightly-raced seven-year-old is taken to defy top weight. Kinbara Firstdraft was an eyecatcher when fourth in that race at Ayr and is dangerous to rule out. Fellow class-dropper Savante is another must for the shortlist. Smooth Scotch and Grann's Boy are each-way contenders.

Lots with chances but the vote goes to SAVANTE who shaped well when a running-on eighth at Leopardstown last time out and can gain a second success in this sphere now. Grann's Boy starts life in handicaps on a decent mark so rates the chief threat ahead of Iamagetaway, Timmy Tuesday and Smooth Scotch.

Preference is for SAVANTE (nap). This is easier than the race she contested at Leopardstown last time and she is 2-3 going right-handed

(1) Flamelco 12/1, Opened chase account on third start for current yard at Catterick in December and back in winners circle at Huntingdon in January, despite tendency to jump left. However, he's developed an all-or-nothing profile, and he ran a shocker back at latter course last month. Hard to trust.
Convincing wins at 1m7f/2m this winter; below best of late, jumping repeatedly left latest.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

DAVIDOC might not have been at his best on his last two starts but returning to good ground is a major plus, with the seven-year-old remaining unexposed in this sphere. Stepping back up in trip should not inconvenience either and he is narrowly preferred to Diplomatic Ash, who has been raised 3lb for a determined success over slightly further here recently. A Moments Madness has undergone wind surgery since his last run, which may bring about improvement.

A tricky puzzle to solve despite the small field but preference is for A MOMENTS MADNESS, who was unable to build on a promising chasing debut last time, but he's had a wind operation since last seen and Warren Greatrex's 6-y-o remains open to improvement in this sphere. Davidoc heads up the dangers returning from a 2-month break, with last-time-out winner Diplomatic Ash rounding off the shortlist.

Diplomatic Ash is respected but the drop in trip can suit A MOMENTS MADNESS who gets the vote on his first start since a wind op.

IMADPOUR won a Cork maiden as a juvenile for Mick Halford but has been generally disappointing since under both codes until running a cracker on just his second start for Ian Donoghue at Leopardstown earlier this month, when beaten just over two lengths in third behind the well-backed Darcy's Friend. Solsbury Hill showed improved form to land an 18-runner maiden on the same Leopardstown card, while Onlymammycanloveme has a similar profile having won a maiden last time at Clonmel and also tackles handicap company for the first time. The Dawn has been placed on his latest two starts including when runner-up to Apologise over this trip at Clonmel, while others for the shortlist include Tyson and Mercury Mission.

The two who appeal most are THE DAWN and Tyson, both of whom have fewer miles on the clock than sixteen-race maiden Mercury Mission. The last-named is respected despite his 0-16 record and a strongly-run race at this trip would certainly aid his cause, but The Dawn found just one too good on his handicap debut at Clonmel and is taken to get his head in front this time. Tyson failed to fire at Naas but has to be of interest judged on his improved effort at Fairyhouse on New Year's Day.

In an open-looking race ONEBRIGHTBLUEROSE gets an each-way vote on the strength of her course form last summer

HAREL DU MARAIS made his way through the field to score in good style over track and trip earlier in the month and the handicapper might have been kind to only put him up 5lb. With a repeat of that performance, he will prove very tough to beat. Gwennie May Jem is the obvious danger after his respectable second at Leicester and Harry Skelton is back on board. Previous C&D winner Jolyjump is noted too.

GWENNIE MAY JEM has the potential to build on his recent Leicester chase debut and is narrowly preferred to last-time-out C&D scorer Harel du Marais.

These conditions are ideal for JOLYJUMP who is taken to come back to form by beating Gwennie May Jem and Harel Du Marais.

Very little in the way of winning form to go on, with a notable exception being AR NOS NA GAOITHE's breakthrough triumph at Clonmel last month. Philip Rothwell's mare travelled well and stayed on strongly, and there should be more to come from her. Navy Waves returned to action with an encouraging Thurles second and might do even better for the extra half-mile. Knocknagoran Lady has claims now back in a handicap, with Cher Tara another to consider.

AR NOS NA GAOITHE showed much-improved form when scoring under this rider at Clonmel last month and an 8 lb rise doesn't look insurmountable. Millyupdahilly and Navy Waves head the dangers.

Last month's Clonmel winner AR NOS GAOITHE is taken to defy an 8lb rise on ground which could suit

Hurdle wins at 2m on heavy/soft; close 2nd latest; surface switch is a query.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

A taking winner at Ludlow last time out, having run out when leading at Catterick on his penultimate start, CONTINUANCE is going the right way and the Martin Keighley-trained juvenile can follow up. Runner-up on his last two outings, Snapius may prefer softer ground but he is still a key player. Lunar Sovereign should be monitored for market support on his first appearance for new connections.

Each of the quintet holds realistic claims, with marginal preference for ONEWAYWEST who looked on the up when splitting two subsequent winners on his penultimate run and can be forgiven his most recent effort having sustained a cut. Lunar Sovereign is well-handicapped if rediscovering his best form on stable debut and any market support would be worth noting, while last-time out winner Continuance could still be improving having only his fifth start over hurdles.

Onewaywest has to stay on the radar but CONTINUANCE (nap) can defy an 8lb rise for his recent Ludlow win.

CAPPUCINO won a bumper in good style at the Listowel Festival and again made all the following month in a Punchestown maiden hurdle. The selection ran a bit too keenly last time when sixth to McLaurey in a valuable handicap at the Dublin Racing Festival and should appreciate this drop in class. Addragoole gained a deserved win when scoring easily at Clonmel last month, while others to consider include Balko D'ange and Fiveonefive. The latter won a decent handicap at Cartmel last summer and while no match for Clarens at Navan last time, may have benefitted from a four-month break.

WALNUT BEACH is potentially well treated in this sphere on chase form so gets the vote. Addragoole won his maiden in good style at Clonmel so is next best ahead of Balko d'Ange.

The returning hood may help \CAPPUCINO\p whose fifth at Leopardstown over Christmas suggests there's a handicap in him if he settles better

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

Escapologist was far from disgraced when hitting the crossbar at Fakenham last month and he holds an obvious chance boasting a rating of 121. However, it may pay to side with SOUTH OMO ZONE, who ran too bad to be true when pulled up on heavy ground at Exeter last time. If he can build on his victory at Wincanton prior to that, then he could be the one to beat. Jack Hyde is another to note.

ESCAPOLOGIST has looked a different proposition since joining James Owen and with more improvement anticipated, he looks the one they all have to beat. A winner on hurdles debut, the lightly-raced South Omo Zone could pose a threat if back on song after disappointing on testing ground at Exeter last month, while Jack Hyde should appreciate this step up in distance.

In what looks quite a warm race the vote goes to course winner JACK HYDE, who should be suited by this step up to 2m4f.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content,

FAVORI DE CHAMPDOU has produced good efforts to run into the money in hot handicaps on each of his last two starts, most recently in the Grand National Trial at Punchestown. Gordon Elliott's 10-year-old sets the standard with a rating of 143 and will prove difficult to beat. The main threat is Gold Cup Bailly, who has cheekpieces applied for the first time and, with all three of his career victories coming in this sphere, he has to be respected. Jumping Jet can beat Marronstown home for third.

FAVORI DE CHAMPDOU arrives at the top of his game and looks the most solid option. Gold Cup Bailly faced a stiff task over hurdles last time and is feared most back chasing.

A poor turnout, perhaps a welcome opportunity for FAVORI DE CHAMPDOU if handling this quicker ground

(5) Vendant 11/1, Placed in points and left previous form in this sphere a long way behind when a fine second over this C&D (soft) in January. Step up to 25f didn't quite work out at Plumpton next time but this lightly-raced 7-y-o is of strong interest back at this trip.
In better form than most and a player here with the drop in trip a plus..
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

VENDANT went close to getting off the mark over C&D in January before not quite lasting home over a longer trip when fourth at Plumpton last time. Everything appears to be in favour for Richard Rowe's gelding to gain a first career success. Ask Her Out and Eliza Dolittle are both capable of returning to form after below-par efforts when last seen.

Perhaps the return to hurdles will give PROPER TWELVE a lift following a couple of potentially confidence-damaging scenarios in the early stages of handicap chases at Taunton (unseated at the first) and here (lost his position after being slammed into at the first fence) the last twice. He is now 1 lb lower compared to when scoring over hurdles in May 2023 and the first-time cheekpieces may aid his cause. Vendant is feared back down in trip, while Ivane is of interest on debut for James Owen.

Vendant is worth considering but a chance is taken on IVANE on his debut for James Owen having shown ability in Ireland.

MAJESTIC FORCE was useful over hurdles last season winning a Punchestown maiden and far from disgraced when fifth to Golden Ace at the Cheltenham Festival. The point-to-point winner made a bright start switching to fences this term over 2m5f at Cork when only caught close home by Spindleberry, who went on to score at Listed level. A disappointing run subsequently at Naas can be forgiven as the yard was out of form. Cuta Des As was well held in fourth behind the selection in the aforementioned Cork event, while point-to-point winner Zefiro Dodville hasn't been seen since landing a Down Royal maiden hurdle 16 months ago.

MAJESTIC FORCE fluffed her lines when sixth at Naas last time but holds the clear edge on form so is taken to bounce back in style here. Chasing newcomers Zefiro Dodville and Jeriko De Baune could emerge as the main threats to Henry de Bromhead's mare.

Judged on her second at Cork on her chasing debut, MAJESTIC FORCE can win a race of this standard. Her jumping let her down at Naas

ALEXANDRA LAROSE was narrowly denied on her handicap debut at Leicester but she made no mistake when on target at Huntingdon last time, and a subsequent 7lb rise should be no barrier to further success. Viva Valentina is pitched in at a moderate level for her handicap bow so must be of interest off an opening mark of 95, and Time Was should not be overlooked.

Not as competitive as the numbers suggest and ALEXANDRA LAROSE is taken to continue on the up and follow up her breakthrough Huntingdon victory. Jessie Jump Jet could emerge as the chief threat now her stamina is unlocked more with handicap debutantes My Dream and Viva Valentina also in the mix.

With a tongue-tie back on, a chance is taken on VIVA VALENTINA breaking her duck on handicap debut. Alexandra Larose is next best.

CLIFFTOP was in consistent form last summer, with the nine-year-old chasing home subsequent Grand Annual winner Jazzy Matty at Wexford in August. He went one better on his next start at Tramore and is fancied to make a successful return to action, having last been seen on the Flat in October. Brucio finished last of three on her chase debut at Ayr and may benefit from stepping up in trip, while Listentillitellyea appears best of the remainder.

LISTENTILLITELLYEA is favoured at these weights so gets a tentative vote from Clifftop who also holds good form claims if on song. Spirit Of Legend can also have a say, especially if his jumping does not hold him back.

LISTENTILLITELLYA has still to prove his stamina but this ground should give him every chance chance of seeing it out

LEADING SWOOP has been in more consistent form this season having reached the frame on all four starts at this track. Robert Walford's nine-year-old is worth another try up in distance and his pedigree does suggest that it ought to suit. Getupearly may return to form after a wind operation, while Elpologreg and Hobb's Delight appear best of the remainder.

A tight-knit handicap in which marginal preference is for the reliable HOBB'S DELIGHT who didn't enjoy the rub of the green when sixth at Uttoxeter last time and can capitalise on a 1 lb lower mark here to gain a deserved first win of the season. In-form maiden Leading Swoop heads the list of dangers, although Getupearly and Elpologreg can both have a say too.

Preference is for well-handicapped 8yo GETUPEARLY, who bumped into a very well-handicapped rival when second over C&D in September.

Track and trip winner PARADOXICAL is on a roll at present and hard to oppose under a 5lb penalty imposed for the latest of his three course wins posted over the extended 1m1f here last week. Urban Road, who registered a hat-trick in February, is another key player even though he has a tricky wide draw to contend with. However, Kingdom Of Time is far less exposed and could be the biggest danger to the selection from a workable rating on his third start in a handicap.

A few in with a squeak but the prolific PARADOXICAL gets the nod to add a sixth all-weather success of the winter to his tally having bolted up over 9.5f here last Wednesday. Kingdom of Time has been firmly knocking on the door, so Archie Watson's charge heads up the opposition, with Urban Road and Urban Sprawl taken to fight out minor honours.

Kingdom Of Time is respected, but URBAN ROAD (nap) is better than ever, with last Friday's second over C&D arguably a career best.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

LETTERS TO JULIET switches to fences having been let down by jumping errors on her latest two starts over hurdles. She has been poised to challenge on both occasions and hopefully will have a bit more respect for fences. Bite That is bidding to bridge a long gap since winning over hurdles at Tramore and the Pat Flynn-trained gelding has filled the runner-up spot on his last four outings, including behind the progressive Portarlington at Tramore last time with Da Big Fella well held in sixth. Junot was placed on his only previous run over fences and was a creditable fifth last time in a 22-runner Cork handicap hurdle.

BITE THAT's strike-rate hardly makes him bet compelling but he enjoyed a good spell when last seen at the end of 2024 and have his consistency rewarded now. Recent Clonmel third Da Big Fella should get involved again, while Volez Vous should also have a say if taking to chasing at the first time of asking.

It's hard to fancy MALTON GROOVE on recent efforts but he twice ran well over C&D last summer and will be suited by the ground

Unsuited by the way the race developed at Newcastle the following month, but back on track when recently landing a 10-runner Market Rasen handicap (20.6f, good) in decisive fashion and 4 lb rise fair enough.
Came good at Market Rasen a fortnight ago and further progress is possible.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

An opening mark of 104 proved to be lenient for Market Rasen winner INISHNABRO, who looked strongest in the closing stages of that extended 2m2f contest. A step up in trip ought to suit Henry Oliver's gelding on that evidence and he is taken to defy a 3lb higher mark. Aggagio recorded a commanding success at Warwick recently and, given he escapes a penalty, he's a real danger. Foreverwalking finished 13 lengths behind Albert Bartlett fifth Wendigo at Wetherby latest and also commands respect.

Point winner INISHNABRO improved for the step up to 18.5f when opening his Rules account at Market Rasen and, with this further increase in trip likely to bring about more improvement, he could be the answer. Thank You Blue's recent form figures make for grim reading but he's of interest back in this sphere and may emerge as the main danger ahead of Aggagio, who escapes a penalty for his recent Warwick success and is greatly respected, for all that he's an infrequent winner nowadays.

Preference is for INISHNABRO (nap), who scored on his handicap debut in December and has plenty of scope for further progress.

BIG INTEREST came well clear of Cheltenham Festival runner-up Its On The Line over 3m here in December and although he's been disappointing twice since then, the six-year-old will be difficult to beat if finding a return to form. That being said, Clonmel scorer Milan Forth has been running well between the flags and looks to be a real threat. Others to note include Ballyphilip and Drumnasoo.

BIG INTEREST looked one to follow when making a wining Rules debut here on Boxing Day and that remains the case, despite his two subsequent defeats on soft/heavy going. He is taken to get back on track with the forecast quicker ground and drop in trip both likely plus points. Having shaped well both starts between the flags, Beg To Differ is interesting on his Rules debut and, given his connections, it will look significant if he's strong in thebetting. Milan Forth is also shortlisted.

A chance is taken on BEG TO DIFFER who shaped nicely in points on easy ground and he could improve plenty for this sounder surface

ARFURSGAL shaped with plenty of promise when runner-up on her first appearance at Newbury in December and the four-year-old, who travelled well on that occasion, is expected to benefit from a drop in trip. Edward Sexton and Catchintsavo are both capable of a decent showing on what they have achieved so far, while Roi Du Risk showed a good attitude here in January but may prove vulnerable under a penalty.

ARFURSGAL made a positive start when second at Newbury and can take advantage of her age/sex allowance. Her stablemate Catchinsavo is next best ahead of Edward Sexton.

The Moore-trained EDWARD SEXTON sets a far standard and looks the one to beat, with Arfursgal feared most.

It's safe to say all of these carry some form of risk. Sir Benedict rates a player off 4lb lower than his last winning mark but has the worst of the draw, while similar comments apply to Second Collection, whose current mark would be attractive where it not for a berth in the next stall down. Conversely, KIPP KELLY has landed a position on the inner rail and, after a luckless run at Newcastle last week, this keen-going sort could finally have things unfold to ideally suit.

MY TURN NOW had excuses for her below-par effort behind Bankrupt back in January so, better judged on her winning effort at Chelmsford the time before, Michael Attwater's 5-y-o gets the nod to resume winning ways at the expense of Kipp Kelly, who shaped better than the bare result at Newcastle last week and isn't one to write off in this company. The aforementioned Bankrupt can edge out Sir Benedict for third.

Kipp Kelly hasn't had much luck of late, but Rossa Ryan is a positive booking for SECOND COLLECTION, who gets the nod.

THEFLYINGKING won a point-to-point for Donnchadh Doyle and has gone close on both bumper starts for current connections. The selection was caught close home at Fairyhouse last time and the form of that race has worked out well since. Hank West is an obvious threat having easily won a Lisronagh point-to-point in November and was bought later that month for 195,000 pounds. Kilgame has shown promise on both hurdle starts, including behind Kel Histoire at Cork, while Faithful Follower merits respect if reproducing his second to the long odds-on Classical Creek at Down Royal.

HANK WEST fetched £195,000 as a 4-y-o and is under the care of top trainer Willie Mullins so this son of Westerner is fancied to make a winning start at the chief expense of form pick Theflyingking who may have to settle for runner-up spot once more. Kilgame and Duke's County are other newcomers who command respect.

Three top yards with contenders; THEFLYINGKING, narrowly beaten by decent rivals in both bumpers, sets a good standard and is preferred

(1) Defence Witness 11/2, Bumper winner who hasn't kicked on as might have been expected over jumps, proving expensive to follow. However, looks competitive on form and makes a fresh start for new yard in a first-time tongue strap (has had wind op).
0-7 over hurdles for Sandy Thomson but ended 2024 with a good run; now with new stable.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

It's hard to get too excited about any of these, so only a tentative vote can go the way of DEFENCE WITNESS. His two latest efforts, both at Musselburgh, have been relatively encouraging and any further progress might suffice in a contest lacking depth. Trevor's Lad hit the frame here last time out and boasts place claims on that basis. Lady's Present is another to consider.

DEFENCE WITNESS has been expensive to follow but he's had a breathing operation since last seen so is worth another chance starting out for an in-form yard with a tongue strap applied. Lady's Present and Churchman head the dangers.

This rather uncompetitive finale could provide a good opportunity for DEFENCE WITNESS to open his account over hurdles.

410,000-euro purchase ECHOING SILENCE failed to live up to market expectations when only fifth on her hurdling debut at Navan in December, but she looks well worth another chance. It's interesting connections have now switched to this sphere, but it would be no surprise to see her make her first bumper start a winning one. Aisling Rose is a half-sister to bumper winner Queenohearts and if the market speaks in her favour, she would be of interest, along with point-to-point winner Broomfield Aderra.

ECHOING SILENCE should promise in a maiden hurdle before Christmas and this former point winner can strike at the second time of asking for Henry de Bromhead. Aisling Rose makes paper appeal for a stable no stranger to bumper success, while Kenisa Sport and Kabylia hail from good stables and could easily leave their debut efforts behind.

It may pay to persevere with ECHOING SILENCE, a disappointing favourite on hurdles debut, having won a point this time last year

PRINCE OF INDIA would be conceding weight all round of this were a handicap and could make a winning return with a first-time tongue-tie applied. The official ratings suggest Political Power should also be a player on these terms, while Nad Alshiba Rain is not ruled out with the step back to 7f worth a try. Carron, who cost 135,000gns as a two-year-old, merits a betting check on just his second career start/all-weather debut.

POLITICAL POWER has race fitness on his side and that swings the vote his way in favour of the returning Prince of India. Nad Alshiba Rain looks best of the remainder.

An ordinary-looking novice in which PRINCE OF INDIA about sets the standard, ahead of Political Power and Nad Alshiba Rain.

A half-brother to multiple Listed-winner Sparks Fly, THE SWEET ESCAPE hails from a family that the David Loughnane stable has done very well with and he could be primed to strike first time out. He is preferred to fellow newcomer Excellent Believe, who is well related and hails from a yard that could not be in better form. Of those with experience, Arizona Rock showed improvement from first to second start when fourth at Wolverhampton and he cannot be ruled out.

ARIZONA ROCK gets the vote but Excellent Believe, The Sweet Escape and Warrior Mode are newcomers who make appeal on paper and could pose big threats if the betting speaks for them.

Fourth in a truly run and quite competitive C&D contest nine days ago, ARIZONA ROCK is selected to put his experience to good use.

0-13 on AW and looks unlikely back from break over inadequate trip.

Not beaten far in his attempt to land the double at Kempton last month, SOUTH DAKOTA SIOUX has been in excellent form of late and a mark of 62 still looks manageable for the son of Sioux Nation. A winner of three of his last four starts, including twice over C&D, Ash Wednesday must enter calculations, as well as Capuchinero, who bounced back to form with a solid runner-up effort at Wolverhampton most recently.

Having rattled off a hat-trick of wins, ASH WEDNESDAY wasn't seen to best effect back at 6f in a stronger race last time and with regular tongue-tie now refitted, he can make his return to this trip, grade and course a winning one. South Dakato Sioux arrives in great heart following a victory and very creditable second in his last two starts, while Macanudo makes some appeal dropped into a 0-65 handicap back at 7f.

South Dakota Sioux is running really well but ASH WEDNESDAY will be suited by the return to 7f and is preferred.

(4) Not Just Yet 9/1, Often runs creditably at this venue and although twenty-three runs since his last win, he did return to form when creditable fourth of 8 in handicap at this C&D (17/2) two weeks ago. That effort gives him a chance in an open race.
0-15 on AW and becoming frustrating but ran well over C&D a fortnight ago.

(5) Kensington Agent 16/5, C&D winner ran creditably when fourth of 8 at this venue after 4-months off but failed to come on for that run when a below-form fifth of 8 in handicap at this C&D 14 days ago. Still 3 lb above his latest winning mark and may need some leniency from the handicapper.
Close fourth over C&D last month, after a break, but a shade disappointing here since.

Alafdhal

8
8/1(-33%)
(3) Alafdhal 8/1, C&D winner can be headstrong, as it proved when too keen to do himself justice when fifth of 8 in handicap at this C&D 14 days ago, also not helped by having to make his challenge widest of all. Only 1 lb above his last winning mark and has each-way claims if he can settle better.
Raced too freely here last time but now 3lb lower than when second over C&D in January.

(2) Francisco 4/1, Has developed a tendency to be slowly away from the stalls, again tardy when second of 9 in handicap at Chelmsford City (6f) 18 days ago. Lightly-raced sort isn't ruled out but needs to brush up on his starting issues.
Slow starts are an issue but he's lightly raced and will be dangerous if breaking on terms.

(8) Red Walls 22/1, Not in same form as when winning over C&D in January, although hasn't enjoyed much luck on last couple of starts, poorly drawn on penultimate run before encountering trouble in running when down the field at this venue on Friday. Others preferred.
Not very reliable but won off today's basement mark over C&D in January; can't rule out.

7/2(+42%)
(7) Asadjumeirah 7/2, Four-time C&D winner arrives on the back of two creditable runners-up efforts at Newcastle, unable to peg back a front-runner on his latest outing a week ago. Fairly consistent sort should run his race again.
Dual winner at Newcastle this year and runner-up twice off this mark there this month.

Smasher

8/1(-60%)
(6) Smasher 8/1, 3-time C&D winner was able to settle better when recording a fourth career win on his most recent outing, landing a 9-runner handicap at Kempton (6f) 26 days ago. No surprise if he were to enhance his fine course record from only 1 lb higher.
Nudged up only 1lb for recent Kempton win and also suited by this C&D; in the mix again.

7th (1) Beauzon (6/1 -9%)
Beauzon

6
6/1(-9%)
(1) Beauzon 6/1, 7-time C&D winner has been below form on last couple of outings, latest when seventh of 9 in handicap at this C&D 56 days ago. However, he drops in class and was only narrowly defeated when last racing off this mark. Freshened up for this contest and looks an interesting contender.
Six-time C&D winner in 2024; given short break after two below-par runs in January.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

FRANCISCO has done well since joining the Patrick Chamings stable and this could be the day that the son of Zoustar gets his head in front, having run a creditable race in defeat at Chelmsford when green towards the finish. The four-year-old gets the vote ahead of Smasher, who forced his way back to the winner's enclosure with a gutsy performance at Kempton last month, and the consistent Asadjumeirah.

Down in grade and having gone close from this mark earlier in this season, BEAUZON is taken to land an eighth C&D success. Not Just Yet often runs with credit at this venue and makes appeal having bounced back to form last time, with Alafdhal not ruled out from only 1 lb above his latest winning mark.

This might go to ALAFDHAL, who needs to settle better than last time but has remained in pretty good form since his 5f win in January.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

CAPTAIN BRETT failed to fire in three starts in maiden/novice company last year, but he showed a little more when fourth on his handicap debut at Kempton last month. With Luke Morris booked and a 1lb lower mark to contend with, he might be up to taking this weak event. Infantry Officer has been gelded since a trio of poor efforts in his last campaign, but this is a big step up in distance and he could prove a different proposition on his handicap bow. Magic Topissima is the pick of the remainder.

An open handicap but CURRAHEE took a step forward when an encouraging fifth on his handicap debut at Lingfield last time and with further progress on the cards he looks the way to go. Captain Brett also has better days ahead of him and could emerge as the main danger ahead of Bear Baby and Itsgottobefun.

Well-bred handicap debutant INFANTRY OFFICER showed very little over 6f/7f as a 2yo but could be a completely proposition this year.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

DANEHILL STAR bounced back to form when all out to score over a mile at Newcastle earlier in the month and provided he can back that performance up, he will prove difficult to beat. Brinton has been thereabouts in each of her six starts this year, winning once, and she has to be respected again. Of the remainder, previous C&D winner Quick Away makes the most appeal.

BRINTON has found some improvement of late and looks the pick on these terms. Danehill Star is feared most ahead of Yaahobby.

The switch to classified level may enable KING OF THE DANCE to regain the winning thread. Brinton is second choice.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

INEXPLICABLE was far from disgraced when third in a handicap over C&D last month and if he remains in similar form, then he could record his ninth course success. Alice's Impact finished a fair fourth at Southwell earlier in the month and she has to enter the reckoning with Billy Loughnane booked, along with Ocean Odyssey after his fourth at Lingfield last month.

OCEAN ODYSSEY attracted plenty of support ahead of his debut for new connections at Lingfield and, having shaped with plenty of encouragement in that 1m handicap, he makes plenty of appeal. Next on the list is Comedian Leader, who will have a serious chance at this level if able to get back on track. Fifty Sent is best of the rest.

This might go to OCEAN ODYSSEY, who drops in grade after making the frame in a Lingfield handicap on his stable debut

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
