(8) Venerated 25/1, Foaled January 31. Kodi Bear filly. Dam, French 2-y-o 6f winner, half-sister to smart 1m winner (stayed 1¼m) Paris Winds.
Dam won in France at two, a rare runner in this sphere for this jumping yard.
LTO Selection:

Adrian Murray has won this race for the past two years with smart juveniles and riding arrangements suggest POWER BLUE is the pick of his trio. The Space Blues colt from a useful Italian family cost 44,000 pounds as a yearling. Jim Bolger has had many sharp early two-year-olds over the years and he relies on Slaney View, who is by Mehmas and out of a Vocalised mare who has already produced two winners. Zaltan, by Lucky Vega and out of a Listed winner, and the Supremacy filly Ski Supreme are others to consider.

Adrian Murray has won the last 2 runnings of this with smart sorts so it might be best to focus on his trio, with POWER BLUE preferred to Leblon Beach and Stonezilian before any betting clues are known. Slaney View also makes paper appeal in a race where the market should help to shape things.

Three runners here for Adrian Murray who has won the last two editions of the race. David Egan's mount POWER BLUE gets the vote

1/2(-100%)
(2) Star Of Guiting 1/2, Made a winning hurdling debut in a similar race at Exeter in December and has bettered that form in defeat under a penalty at Newbury and Hereford, finding less than looked likely last time. Excellent opportunity with Lundi Noir coming out.
Successful hurdle debut at Exeter and since placed at Newbury and Hereford; contender.

Mad Maxios

2/1(+64%)
(3) Mad Maxios 2/1, Maxios gelding from the family of smart hurdler/useful chaser (stays 2½m) Le Patriote. Attracted some support but held back by inexperience when well held on debut at Hereford (Star of Guiting clear in third) 3 weeks ago. Needs to leave that behind now tongue tied.
25l fourth of five on Hereford debut (11-4), 22l behind Star of Guiting; likely improver.
4
3rd (4) Popa Rich (12/1 -33%)
Popa Rich

12
12/1(-33%)
(4) Popa Rich 12/1, Shaped a bit better than first time up given a more patient ride when second back at Sedgefield in October. Plenty more needed against the penalised winner, though.
Well beaten both starts, last time finishing 19l second at Sedgefield; others stronger.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content,

STAR OF GUITING, who won a similar event at Exeter in December, has been consistent and probably has further success within range. He can put his superior experience to good use. Popa Rich and Mad Maxios have both been well held in previous starts but perhaps the latter can make some progress with a tongue-tie added for just his second start.

An excellent opportunity for STAR OF GUITING to resume winning ways under a penalty. Popa Rich can follow him home.

Exeter winner STAR OF GUITING is taken to confirm Hereford form with Max Maxios who should improve for that run.

1/2(-25%)
(6) Jena D'oudairies 1/2, Bumper winner last spring. Fair form when placed in mares' maiden/novice hurdles this winter and while she was disappointing on handicap debut last month, this looks a very good opening.

Point/useful bumper winner; things yet to go to plan over hurdles but still early days.

(3) Carro Attrezzi 40/1, Blue Bresil mare out of a maiden hurdler who stayed 2¾m, herself a half-sister to smart chaser (stayed 21f) Easter Meteor. Yard is hardly a regular source of winning newcomers and others make more appeal.

Dropped away in the straight in an Exeter bumper (2m, heavy); can do better in time.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

JENA D'OUDAIRIES failed to fire at Kempton last time but Paul Nicholls' mare is the one to beat based on her two previous placed efforts, including a good second at Wincanton on Boxing Day. The main threat may prove to be Bellas Bridge, who also disappointed when last seen but the first-time application of a hood may see an improved effort. Benignitas is the pick of the remainder.

JENA D'OUDAIRIES isn't totally bombproof on the back of a tame handicap debut but with credible rivals very thin on the ground, she really should land this. Bellas Bridge would be a major threat if able to get near her bumper form.

Jena D'Oudairies has the best hurdle form but BELLAS BRIDGE was of similar ability in bumpers and may yet do better in this sphere.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

CLEVER AND CUTE was placed twice in maidens on testing ground last year and this is effectively her first handicap having unseated rider when hitting a rail soon after the start on her latest start at Listowel. She hails from a family that the yard has done well with in the past including Group 3 winner Clever And Cool. Tai Tam Bay got a hefty rise for an impressive win on her reappearance at Naas last spring but held her form well throughout the year, while course winner Back Down Under and New Theory are others to note.

NEVER SHOUT NEVER has been in top form at Dundalk (third on Friday) and has some good runs here to his name so could be the way to go. New Theory is very interesting on her return/handicap debut having opened her account when last seen and chased home the now 112-rated Camille Pissarro first time up as a 2-y-o. Rathbranchurch is another to note having gone well fresh, while Clever And Cute could have more to offer for Jim Bolger this term.

It could pay to take a chance with NEW THEORY who signed off last season with a 5f maiden win at Navan. Clonmacash is a danger

(8) Lady Fortune 250/1, Looks very limited on early evidence.
Modest efforts in a bumper and two maiden hurdles; tongue-tie tried; hard to fancy.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

Mikimoto showed promise in his earlier starts and it would be harsh to judge him on the face value of being pulled up the last twice. Those efforts came in stiffer-looking races and the son of Scorpion could fare better dropping back in trip with a visor added. However, preference is for GROOVY BLUE, who sets the standard according to the official ratings and can progress further on just his second start after wind surgery. El Rayo also commands respect.

JOINING FORCE promises to relish this step up in trip and with the scope to do better over hurdles given the promise of his bumper run, he could be the answer to what is an open race. Groovy Blue and Mikimoto have achieved the most of these over obstacles and look the main threats.

This can go to GROOVY BLUE, who ran creditably when third in what looked a strong, small-field novice at Ascot last time.

Runner-up both starts in Irish points in spring 2024 and had a breathing op ahead of Rules debut for successful yard. Tongue tie on.
Runner-up in both his Irish points, latterly behind one who is now with Paul Nicholls.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content,

NEWTON TORNADO arrives here on the back of three seconds and that includes a narrow defeat over 2m7f at Uttoxeter last time. A reproduction of either of those efforts would give him a big chance here. Histrionic was a place behind the selection at Uttoxeter and could chase him home once again, although Gaelic Rambler has to be noted on his Rules debut.

With drying ground likely to help NEWTON TORNADO see this out, he can get it right at the fifth time of asking. Histrionic finished behind the selection last time and may chase him home again unless Gaelic Rambler is an above-average point recruit.

Gaelic Rambler is the unknown but NEWTON TORNADO should confirm Uttoxeter placings with Histrionic.

Does have a bit to prove off his current mark, even with a 7lb claimer up top.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

BIG GOSSEY continues to hold his form well despite his advancing years and returns to his favourite track with strong claims. The selection has won seven times at this venue including three premier handicaps over C&D and having signed off on a winning note on the turf here last November, he's performed with credit on three outings at Dundalk this year. Merisi Diamond and Stag Night both handle soft ground well and are two for the shortlist, while Love Billy Boy won on testing ground at Chester last year for Richard Hannon and is an interesting addition to Ger O'Leary's yard.

It might be worth taking a chance on the class-dropping GO ATHLETICO, with the booking of Colin Keane taking the eye. This former C&D Group 3 winner is also equipped with a first-time headgear combination and confidence in his chance would be increased if the betting vibes are strong. Laugh A Minute should be primed for this after a decent reappearance effort at Dundalk and is second choice ahead of Stag Night and the other Ado McGuinness runner Apache Outlaw.

This looks very open. MERISI DIAMOND returned from a similar break to win on this card 12 months ago.

Fair form in Irish points; mixed efforts over hurdles for this yard; handicap/chase debut.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

SMART CASUAL, who has been consistent since switching to chasing, earns the vote based on his reliability and potential to make further progress from a workable mark. Ballywood has a similar recent profile to the selection and the veteran is another must for consideration, while Mutual Respect appeals with the drop back to this trip noted as a positive factor.

SMART CASUAL ran well in first-time cheekpieces at Leicester last week and could finally open his account if the headgear works as well again. An improved showing from Too Cool Forshrule now chasing for his burgeoning yard could be on the cards, while veteran Ballywood should give his running here once more.

This looks a trappy race in which the suggestion is MUTUAL RESPECT, who won two chases in the autumn. Ballywood is next best.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

The in-form Safe Destination has to be of interest once again, although he could be vulnerable off his current mark. As a result, preference is for MILITAIRE, who was only beaten a length when second over 2m4f at Southwell last time. This step up in trip may bring about the required improvement to go one better. The Midwife is also noted.

THE MIDWIFE has made a fine start over fences and can deliver again at Chepstow. Militaire ran well at Southwell last time and is respected up in trip. Safe Destination is another to consider.

Most of them look handicapped about right but MILITAIRE has the potential to improve for this longer distance.

WIN ME OVER is Aidan O'Brien's sole representative from three entries at the five-day stage and the Kingman filly is bred to be smart, being a sister to top-class miler Palace Pier. Saol Nios Gile and Bint Queen Kindly are other newcomers to keep an eye on in the market. Murkala made a promising debut over C&D but didn't really progress in two subsequent starts, while Wannabe Royal was placed on both outings at Dundalk over the winter. Kitty Rickets showed promise in three maidens last year, while Copacabana Sands was unlucky in running when a close third in a valuable Naas event over this trip last autumn.

WIN ME OVER ticks plenty of boxes on paper as a full sister to the mighty Palace Pier and she can make a successful debut for Ballydoyle. Bint Queen Kindly is another well-bred newcomer for a top yard and interestingly holds a Guineas entry, so she must be respected. Wannabe Royal might be the pick of those with experience and the betting may point the way.

Some of those with experience have already performed to a good level, notably COPACABANA SANDS, Kitty Rickets and Murkala.

HARDY BUCK failed to land a blow on last month's chasing debut and has subsequently switched trainers. Alexander Gibbons' new charge gets another chance reverting to the smaller obstacles, only 2lb higher than when finishing a creditable runner-up over timber at Fakenham in December. Gms Prince has been threatening to finally open his account and finished a respectable third over a longer trip here on his latest start, while Seek Him There may prove best of the remainder.

In a modest affair, GMS PRINCE may prove the most solid option arriving on the back of three creditable placed efforts, and this looks a decent opportunity for him to break his maiden tag while earning a welcome winner for the yard. Seek Him There is next best, having offered some promise in novice company, and he could improve back up in trip, while the inconsistent Hardy Buck could feature on stable debut, if on a going day.

This unappealing novice handicap looks an ideal opportunity for GMS PRINCE (nap) to get off the mark on his 15th run over hurdles.

Didn't run too badly at Ludlow two runs back on her latest run in this discipline.

BLUE LAS has progressed well over hurdles with a victory at Ffos Las backed up by the seven-year-old finishing third in a Grade 2 at Sandown last month. An opening mark of 121 doesn't appear to be overly harsh and she may prove a tough nut to crack. Shantwopointfive performed with credit after an 8lb rise when second at Exeter, while Love Of Neymore isn't discounted dropping back in trip.

The lightly-raced BLUE LAS has the potential for better again now handicapping for the first time and might prove the answer to what looks quite a tight mares event. The return to a longer trip should benefit Shantwopointfive and she's second choice ahead of Love of Neymore. Pawapuri is also an interesting runner on her first outing for Dan Skelton.

This looks competitive. Marginal preference is for SHANTWOPOINTFIVE who bumped into a sharp improver last time.

Another wide-open renewal and 2022 winner RAADOBARG may be worth a shot. He won this off a mark of 98 and is now 3lb lower. The Night Of Thunder gelding was third 12 months ago off a mark of 105 and slipped down the handicap last season, despite a few good efforts. Chris Hayes has won the race twice in the last four years and Independent Expert is an interesting runner on her first outing for Stephen Thorne. She was just edged out in the Irish Cambridgeshire and handles cut in the ground. Rhythm King ended last season in fine form and is another to consider.

Any number to consider but fresh could be the time to catch RAADOBARG starting out for a new yard from a much-reduced mark compared to when third in this a year ago. Gleneagle Bay brings potential to the table so he's on the shortlist, along with Rhythm King at the foot of the weights.

One of the less exposed runners GLENEAGLE BAY can emerge best in a remathc of a C&D clash wit Rhythm King and Orandi

Had excuse for handicap debut but possibilities on 2m4f novice form now back hurdling.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

A dual winner over hurdles, SPRINGS A GIRL just failed to reel in the winner when runner-up at Ludlow on her handicap debut. She will appreciate this extra distance based on that evidence and gets the vote to take advantage of a potentially lenient mark. Placed here on his penultimate outing, Ithaka struggled in a much tougher contest at Ascot last month and will be more at home back in this grade, while Geordie Night isn't without a squeak.

GEORDIE NIGHT boasts some very creditable form at this level and despite not being seen to best effect when third over C&D last month (following an 8-week absence), he looks worth another chance. Springs A Girl is steadily progressive and there may be more improvement to come over this longer trip, while lightly-raced Serious Chat isn't discounted on first run after a breathing operation.

This looks highly competitive and SPITALFIELD is marginally preferred after returning to form at Doncaster last time out.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

TORNEO has built up a consistent profile over fences and the return to a sounder surface is unlikely to be an inconvenience to Jamie Snowden's gelding in a contest that appears to be winnable on paper. Alien Storm will find this a much easier assignment than the one he was set at Musselburgh latest and is capable of being in the mix, along with chasing debutant Sao Carlos.

TORNEO has a solid record in similar races and might be up to notching a second win of the campaign. Olly Murphy's Sao Carlos might be the one to give him most to do if taking to chasing at the first time of asking.

With the drying ground in his favour ALIEN STORM is narrowly preferred to Torneo. Sao Carlos may make a better chaser.

The 90-rated FIRST WAVE sets a good standard and should prove the one to beat if stripping fit. The Wootton Bassett colt was pipped close home on his debut here in October before another solid effort to chase home stablemate Serengeti at Dundalk later that month. Former Cheltenham Champion Bumper winner A Dream To Share is a fascinating runner. He has had his issues and hasn't set the world alight in two hurdle runs this winter, but has the ability to make a nice Flat horse. Admiral Churchill chased home a smart horse in Rock Of Cashel in a Galway maiden last July and is another for the shortlist.

FIRST WAVE has a lot to live up to given his pedigree and sales price but he's sure to make a better 3-y-o so is taken to open his account at the third time of asking. Admiral Churchill is another key form player, while it will be fascinating to see what very talented bumper performer A Dream To Share can do in this code.

Runner-up to stablemates on both starts last year, including at this track, FIRST WAVE (nap) can be suited by the step up to this trip

LAGONDA lost little in defeat when finishing runner-up in her bid to complete a double at Hereford three weeks ago. Venetia Williams' veteran finished just over nine lengths ahead of the third and a 1lb rise in the ratings may prove lenient. The biggest threat may emerge from Space Voyage, who was too bad to be true when last of five at Taunton last month. The in-form Gazette Bourgeoise is the pick of the remainder.

GAZETTE BOURGEOISE recorded a first success over fences in clear-cut fashion at Fakenham to start the year and has run well both subsequent outings, so she is taken to score again from what remains a workable mark based on old form. Lagonda also arrives in good heart and is feared most, ahead of Space Voyage.

A chance is taken on MOONLIT POTTER coming back to form after two poor efforts on her last two starts. Lagonda is next best.

Still a maiden; chase debut here; his placed efforts over hurdles were at 3m+.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

PALAWAN DU MAZET proved a different proposition when making a winning chase bow at Taunton last month. A 6lb higher mark could prove to be on the lenient side and he's taken to double his tally. Ideallko was unable to successfully shoulder a 7lb penalty at Catterick 34 days ago, but the quick turnaround may have caught him out. The son of Cokoriko is feared most, ahead of El Rojo Grande.

PALAWAN DU MAZET showed improved form sent chasing when getting off the mark at Taunton last month, form boosted by the runner-up winning next time, so he is taken to follow up with further improvement to come. Ideallko has been thriving this season and isn't taken lightly, while Orbys River could fare better as she goes back up in trip.

Palawan Du Mazet won the race but there's good reason to believe that EL ROJO GRANDE (nap) can leave his Taunton form behind.

PANDION POWER may be able to pick up the winning thread again on his return to action. The Footstepsinthesand gelding won twice in soft ground in October and ended his campaign by finishing a solid third at Galway. That final run was his third in a fortnight. Off the same mark, there may be another race in him. Escape Act was a winner in soft ground in England and is one to note on his first outing for Richard O'Brien. English horses can be well handicapped coming to Ireland. Matthew Smith saddles La La Lucrative, a winner at Leicester when last seen, and he's another to note.

PANDION POWER showed improved form on his final 3 starts last season, making another bold bid from the front when finishing third at Galway in his hat-trick bid, so he is taken to resume winning ways on his return. He can see off the challenge of Goldrush Kid, who is respected back on the level, with Martinelli completing the shortlist.

A chance is taken on GOLDRUSH KID who goes well on soft and is fit from hurdling over the winter.

(3) Osterberg 8/1, Comfortably held in bumpers at Cheltenham and Southwell towards the end of 2024.
Fair run on Cheltenham debut but well beaten at Southwell latest; plenty to prove.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content,

Having posted a solid third on his debut at Wincanton in January, Constantinian is likely to give another good account. Oliver Signy's gelding should be bang there, but SHABALKO D'HERM could prove a shade too classy. The son of Balko ran out a ready winner on his sole point-to-point outing in Ireland and his pedigree possesses enough speed to think he'll be effective in this sphere. Osterberg can chase them home.

SHABALKO D'HERM cost plenty after easily winning a point and is taken to see off Wincanton-third Constantinian in what will likely develop into a straight fight between the pair.

Constantinian commands respect but the choice is SHABALKO D'HERM, who was bought for £140,000 after his easy point win in October.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content,

Having showed signs of inexperience in the final furlongs at Uttoxeter in November, KARONACHO should have learned plenty from that opening second. The five-year-old should prove tough to beat if finding any improvement and a first career victory may beckon. Penalised winner Doctor Blue will find this easier than when fifth in a Listed bumper at Ascot 86 days ago and he's a viable alternative, along with the Paul Nicholls-trained newcomer Grand Garcon.

An interesting bumper to conclude. There was plenty to like about the way DOCTOR BLUE travelled for a long way in an Ascot listed bumper in December and he can defy a penalty back in a lower grade. Karonacho made an encouraging start to his career when runner-up at Uttoxeter in November and is second choice ahead of Dan Skelton Worcester winner Tormund Giantsbane. The newcomers also need monitoring in the betting, notably Grand Garcon.

Karonacho can improve from his debut run but DOCTOR BLUE is down in grade and looks up to defying a penalty.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

CHESTER NIMITZ ran a big race on his debut at Navan last season when pushing Majestic Wave to half a length, and it was a solid effort to finish third at Dundalk three weeks later. Back on turf, there looks scope for further improvement. Alfred Tennyson is rated a couple of pounds superior and had some solid form last season. He's a leading contender on the pick of his juvenile form. Mathan ran well with cut in the ground when second to Bodhi Bear at Navan and is another who has to come into calculations.

An expensive purchase, MATHAN has shown plenty on the track having only been bettered by a useful-looking rival when runner-up on his second start, and he is taken to make a winning return. Alfred Tennyson has already shown a fair level of ability and may improve as a 3-y-o, as might Passing Phase following a gelding operation, while Chester Nimitz could be a different proposition returned to the turf.

Having finished a close third to a pair of smart sorts on his final start last year, ALFRED TENNYSON can take this.
