LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

Dual French bumper winner KOKTAIL DIVIN has shown nice ability in two Irish hurdle runs and contests a lesser maiden than when finishing third in January. While beaten 24 lengths at Fairyhouse, that was a fast-run race and he was beaten by high-class types, but now faces a lesser task reverting to 2m4f. Similarly, Zillow has been beaten by Kopek Des Bordes and Kawaboomga during Christmas and was then well held by promising Karbau last month. He is also a dual French winner and should give the selection a race. Champion jockey Jack Kennedy returns to ride the reappearing good-ground performer Arabian Diamond, which shouldn't be too far away.

KOKTAIL DIVIN was beaten some way by the first two when third at Fairyhouse but the pair that beat him that day could be smart and, in any case, a reproduction of his C&D second over Christmas would make him hard to beat. Arabian Diamond could be the one to follow the selection home if fully tuned-up following a seven-month absence. Zillow and Koktail Divin's stablemate Quantum Quest are both open to improvement and merit respect.

Preference is for KOKTAIL DIVIN (nap) on the strength of his C&D effort behind Kaid d'Authie in December

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

QUALIMITA is unlikely to live up to expectations having cost 500,000 euro following a point-to-point win but has, nonetheless, shown ability and ran well here last month. Listed-placed in one bumper run last season, she has shown consistent hurdles form this term and a reproduction of her Listed handicap third at the Dublin Racing Festival might prove enough to win here. Miss Mini Bee has seven lengths to find with the selection on December form and she in turn finished ahead of Full Of Life at Punchestown in January. Barnahash Primrose was slowly away when running no race on her Christmas comeback and while smart in bumpers, is lightly-raced and needs to recapture old form.

QUALIMITA progressed again making her handicap debut when third here 4 weeks ago and sets a decent standard back in a maiden. Barnahash Primrose failed to meet expectations on her hurdling bow at Limerick but seems sure to do better, while useful German Flat recruit Colonia Victoria is an interesting newcomer.

This is a good opportunity for QUALIMITA who has run five times since fetching an eye-watering 500,000 euros in April 2023

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content,

LAWRENNY found only a potentially useful sort too good when second in a deeper race over 2m at Sandown last month and, eased in grade having gone well over C&D before that, he gets the vote to return to winning ways. Smokeringinthedark did it well when scoring over 2m4f at Musselburgh on his penultimate start and he could run well, for all that he will need to bounce back from a low-key effort over 3m most recently. Cruden is also noteworthy.

SMOKERINGINTHEDARK was possibly unsuited by the lack of a true gallop ridden with more restraint over a longer trip at Musselburgh on his most recent outing, so he's well worth another chance having shown a good attitude to fend off a promising sort on his Rules debut the time before. Lawrenny sets the standard and has obvious claims, with Cruden and Ailt An Chorrain taken to battle it out for minor honours.

The unexposed SMOKERINGINTHEDARK (nap) looked threatening last time at Musselburgh until his stamina seemingly failed him over 3m.

(5) Always Busy 5/1, Career best when easily winning 10-runner handicap chase at Warwick. Might have found next run coming too soon under a penalty but new mark has kicked in now.
Best to forgive latest effort; scored easily at Warwick the time before; not written off.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

FINN LOUGH made amends for a disappointing effort when getting his head back in front over C&D at the start of last month and the consistent six-year-old doesn't appear to have finished his progression just yet. The dry forecast is likely to suit Always Busy after being pulled up on heavy ground at Lingfield in January, while Jeffery's Cross is worth another chance following his latest effort.

AWAYTHELAD got back on track in a change of headgear when second at Doncaster and looks capable of going one better off his current mark. Shillanavogy is worth another chance back on better ground so is next best ahead of last-time-out winner Finn Lough.

The vote goes to FINN LOUGH (nap) who could have more to offer in the retained cheekpieces. Awaythelad is second choice.

A chance is taken with PENELOPE'S CHARM, whose recent form reads badly but she debuts in handicaps wearing first-time cheekpieces and can better her current rating. Admittedly a very in-and-out performer, the selection attained a Listed bumper-placing last March and finished out her race reasonably well when defeating plenty rivals at Clonmel last month. Today's extra furlong can help and this is a very winnable handicap. Mount Shenshan has obvious claims having won at Clonmel last month, although he is 5lb higher and without her rider's 7lb claim today. Ex-Willie Mullins-trained Marie's March drops markedly in grade from her Fairyhouse maiden hurdle run and can compete on her handicap debut.

WENDELL'S LASS has yet to hit the target but she was in the process of running a big race when exiting at the second-last at Punchestown last time, a race she may well have won had she stayed on all fours. The 6-y-o is taken to atone for that and get the better of recent Clonmel scorer Mount Shenshan. Cases can also be made for Goodie Girl and Slim Marvel.

BACKFROMTHERACES shaped with promise in her first two handicaps and she had a valid excuse for her disappointing run on latest

This doesn't look the deepest race of it's type and a tentative vote goes to LOOKING SPLENDID. He was far from disgraced when third over 2m4f at Musselburgh last month and it would be no surprise if he were up to the task racing off an unchanged mark. On The Go hasn't cut much ice in his three qualifying runs but better can be expected now pitched into handicap company for the first time. Lathan is another for the shortlist, although his inconsistency is a concern.

LADY'S PRESENT is fairly lightly raced for her age and has proven that she can be competitive from a lowly handicap mark. She won't need to improve to win this modest event and makes appeal with Brian Hughes taking over in the saddle for the first time. Looking Splendid is a standout danger having posted a couple of solid efforts at Musselburgh this winter, while Silverbridge is well-treated if first-time blinkers can awaken him from his recent slumber.

A chance is taken on LADY'S PRESENT who hasn't been getting home over longer trips since her close fourth at Catterick in December.

WE GOT YOUR BACK had been a revelation when dropped to the minimum distance with a brace of victories at Leicester and Catterick before the wheels fell off back at 2m4f when returning to the former venue. Laura Morgan's gelding deserves another chance to get his head back in front, despite being 6lb higher than his most recent success. Sangiovese won on handicap debut over hurdles here and is a fascinating contender now switched to fences. Others to note are Harel Du Marais and Extraordinary Man.

WE GOT YOUR BACK was thriving before his flop over further at Leicester last time so is worth another chance back down in trip. Abaya du Mathan won off a similar mark over C&D in December and is feared most.

Back at Southwell, chase debutant SANGIOVESE gets the vote. Extraordinary Man is second pick.

MONEY HEIST has had training setbacks in his career but is a useful chaser who reverts to hurdling from a favourable rating. His three previous wins have come over shorter distances but, nonetheless, he stays well. While well beaten on his previous hurdles start in November 2023, that was a comeback run and, today, he is rated 18lb lower in this sphere than over fences. John Storey and Sammy Smart each has recent winning form at this level and stay well but nonetheless each faces a tougher task, upped in the weights. The Miracle Man was held in second place when exiting at the final flight at Navan last month and has solid place claims.

MONEY HEIST has made the frame off significantly higher marks over fences the last twice and is appealing back in this sphere and back up in trip. Indeed, he was a good third in a Down Royal handicap chase on his sole previous attempt at 3m under Rules. Next on the list is John Storey, who has gradually got the hang of things and opened his account at Fairyhouse last time. Game And Glory, Sammy Smart and The Miracle Man are others to consider.

It is hard to look beyond MONEY HEIST, whose hurdles mark is very appealing when set in the context of his recent form over fences.

(9) Fancy Nancy Pants 33/1, Poor novice hurdler may have been flattered by finishing position when creditable fourth of 10 in handicap hurdle (66/1) at Carlisle (19.3f, good to soft) 14 days ago. Others have stronger form claims.
Lightly raced and never nearer than at the finish last time at Carlisle (2m3f).

PASSENGERONTHESHIP shaped with plenty of promise when finishing runner-up over this trip at Southwell last time out and, upped 3lb since, he could prove tough to stop with a repeat of that effort. Jingle Jangle Jet arrives on the back of a couple of solid placed efforts and another prominent showing looks likely, while the relatively unexposed The Dark Edge looks the pick of the remainder.

PASSENGERONTHESHIP travelled well when chasing home a rejuvenated rival last month and, still on a fair handicap mark, she's taken to go one better on this occasion. Jingle Jangle Jet has improved for the switch to handicap company and should be in the mix once again, while Breadalbane Lass is interesting now stepped up in distance.

The Dark Edge should go well but he's high in the weights and preference is for KILLYBEGS JET LADY who seems mildly progressive.

Willewonga had the benefit of fitness on his side when runner-up to Eva's Oskar at Ludlow with MINELLA TRUMP back in fourth. However, Donald McCain's veteran shaped well before getting tired and has every chance of reversing that form. Percussion was a beaten favourite at Ludlow last time but he remains capable of being in the mix, while any market support for Linelee King would make him of significant interest.

PERCUSSION was close up behind a couple of useful types when third on his Ludlow hunter debut last month and might prove the answer to what looks quite an open race. Willewonga, Master Templar, Minella Trump and the returning Linelee King are others with good claims.

Belatedly returned to Southwell, PERCUSSION is taken to regain the winning thread. Willewonga is feared most.

MAJESTIC FORCE may be able to bounce back after a disappointing effort on her last outing, in early January when the yard was under a bit of a cloud. The Workforce mare weakened tamely then behind Fun Fun Fun at Naas. She had run a big race previously when going down by half a length to Spindleberry at Cork and that form looks very strong with the winner taking a Listed event recently in impressive fashion. Golden Joy ran with promise when fifth on his chase debut at Thurles and with improvement he could prove a danger. Lisnagar Fortune has been well beaten on both outing over fences but it wouldn't be a surprise if he could get closer now.

Something can't have been right with MAJESTIC FORCE last time and she's given another chance to confirm the promise of her opening second over fences. Gordon Elliott's Golden Joy made a promising start to his chase career in a warm race at Thurles and is second choice ahead of Black Bamboo.

MAJESTIC FORCE might have won on her chasing debut only for a late mistake and this looks a good chance for her to make amends.

Fourth at Carlisle (soft) where 3m appeared to stretch him; considered.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

LOW MILEAGE was only beaten a neck into second over 2m4f at Musselburgh a couple of weeks ago and a 2lb rise may not be enough to stop him from going one better here. Ceolwulf also hit the crossbar on his most recent outing and could prove to be the main threat to the selection, although Diamond Mix and Flash Du Pistolet should not be discounted.

DIAMOND MIX proved that all can't have been well on his chasing debut when finding just one way ahead of its mark too good at this track last month and, with further progress over fences on the cards, he gets the nod to go one better. Ceolwulf hasn't stood much racing of late but, provided there's no bounce factor from his recent Leicester second, he looks an obvious threat. Low Mileage and Cave Hill round off the shortlist.

This is wide open. CEOLWULF bumped into one on last month's belated return to action and hopefully he will avoid the 'bounce'.

JACK HYDE has shown plenty of promise in two hurdles starts to date and this appears to be an ideal opportunity for the seven-year-old to get off the mark over timber. Cobbler's Boy disappointed on his Rules debut but it is far too soon to be writing him off, while any market support for Syllabus or Surrey Lord would have to be noted.

JACK HYDE has shaped with encouragement on both his starts over hurdles and, with his latest form proving strong, he's selected to mirror his bumper exploits by making it third time lucky in this sphere. Cobbler's Boy and Syllabus, a fair and consistent maiden on the Flat, are a pair of interesting hurdling debutants.

The form pick is JACK HYDE whose latest race featured a notable winner and two subsequent scorers. Cobbler's Boy is second choice.

A WAVE OF THE SEA ran a cracker at Navan back in December and may be able to score now off just a pound higher mark. The Born To Sea gelding has had a little break since and the form of that race has worked out well. The third horse has been placed a couple of times since while the fifth, Don't Talk, has won his last two. Clonbury Bridge comes here in winning form and looks the danger. The Presenting gelding was value for a bit more than his winning margin at Fairyhouse last time and a 4lb rise doesn't look harsh. Philip Rothwell has his team in fine form and Prince Zaltar is another for the shortlist.

A WAVE OF THE SEA looked rejuvenated when going close at Navan in December and is one to be interested in now. Prince Zaltar remains with potential in this sphere on hurdles form and is next best ahead of last-time-out winner Clonbury Bridge.

Shane Broderick can pick up a race with the former Joseph O'Brien-trained A WAVE OF THE SEA after a lively effort at Navan in December

0-10 under both codes since leaving Ben Pauling; something to prove after last time.

Capable Flat stayer but last month's return to hurdling was forgettable.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

The Grafter has been knocking hard on the door of late and has to be of interest once again but marginal preference is for TRAVIS WHEATLEY. The five-year-old has shown promise in novice company this season and an opening mark of 105 should be workable on his handicap bow. Others who make the shortlist are Bathgate, Fostered Phil and Russian Virtue.

The vote goes to BATHGATE, who has been at the top of his game of late and appears to still be on a competitive mark judged on his latest effort at Catterick. Rory The Cat has been given a chance by the handicapper and will be a big threat if able to get back on track. The lightly-raced veteran Fostered Phil commands respect on the back of an encouraging comeback run at Musselburgh, while handicap debutants Old But Gold and Travis Wheatley both need a second look in the betting.

Travis Wheatley and Old But Gold are interesting, while RUSSIAN VIRTUE, Bathgate and The Grafter are all running well.

In a moderate event a chance can be taken with RONNIES RULES, who has unseated his rider on both hurdles starts to date but has more than enough ability to win this if putting in a clear round of jumping. Jack The Nipper is the main danger after his career-best effort last time, while Whatsyourproblem edges out Moonshine Man to be best of the rest.

MOONSHINE MAN was better than the result in a big-field Musselburgh handicap on his most recent outing, having helped force a sound gallop, so he could well be the answer back in maiden company. Whatsyourproblem stepped up on his 2 previous efforts for his current yard when fourth in a handicap here the previous month and should go well again. I Play County and Ronnies Rules' hurdling careers haven't started too promisingly but they shouldn't be written off given their bumper form.

Back at the scene of his best finishing position, MOONSHINE MAN gets the vote. Whatsyourproblem is second choice.

SUGAR COOKIE has to defy a lengthy absence but that wouldn't be a major worry coming from the Willie Mullins yard. The French-bred filly makes her first start for the champion trainer having chased home a smart sort in the Mullins-trained Arctic Fly on her debut in this same race two years ago. Champagne Venture was no match for stunning winner Aqua Force at Gowran last time but it was still a solid effort to fill the runner-up spot and she should be thereabouts again here having been placed in her last two. Jem's Lilly ran well on her debut, when second at Punchestown, and is another for the shortlist.

SUGAR COOKIE hasn't been seen finishing second in this race on her debut 2 years ago but she's joined Willie Mullins and is seemingly preferred by Patrick Mullins to stablemate Hello Jean, who is also likely to figure prominently on debut. Joseph O'Brien newcomer Moon Eclipse is another interesting runner, while Jem's Lilly also makes the shortlist after her debut second.

A chance is taken on the debutante MOON ECLIPSE who is related to bumper winners and whose yard has a solid strike rate in bumpers

CITY ESCAPE did it well when scoring comfortably over C&D last time out and, despite the burden of a 4lb penalty, this apprentice handicap looks like an ideal opportunity for her to follow up. The form of her stable is another plus and he may have too much for the consistent Sir Laurence Graff, as well as Busby, who regained the winning thread with a taking success over track and trip last week, for which he also has a 4lb penalty to overcome.

CITY ESCAPE and Busby both won over C&D at the beginning of last week and might be the pair to focus on again, with a narrow preference for the former. Sir Laurence Graff may prove best of the remainder.

Busby and CITY ESCAPE both won over C&D last week. but the latter's success came in a stronger race so she is preferred.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

Having HARJO regained the winning thread with a determined success over slightly further at Doncaster last time out, the eight-year-old looks more than capable of following up off 3lb higher for his in-form trainer. A winner of two of his last three starts, The Paddy Pie is a key player, along with Court At Slip, who wasn't beaten far over 3m6f at Catterick in January and scored over C&D on his penultimate outing.

SIX ONE NINE could be worth chancing off a winning mark over a trip which may suit him nowadays. Similar Story was back to form at Carlisle last time so is feared, while Court At Slip returns from an absence off a handy mark so needs keeping an eye on.

Harjo was back to form at Doncaster but THE PADDY PIE's stout staying effort at Catterick opens some new doors for him.

LA PINSONNIERE was doing her best work late on when scoring readily over 2m at Huntingdon last time out and this promising mare could take another step forward with her stamina drawn out further here. Jasmine Bliss won over 2m5f at Ludlow last month and the daughter of Blue Bresil merits the utmost respect, while Jakana is also one for the shortlist.

This will likely rest between JASMINE BLISS and La Pinsonniere, with preference for the former who appeared to have a bit left up her sleeve when scoring at Ludlow and she remains with potential. Jakana and I Am The Moon are both talented mares in their own right but, chances are, they will be doing battle for minor honours this time.

If the runners with marks were in a handicap, LA PINSONNIERE would be conceding weight to the others so she is preferred.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

Stepping back up in trip looks like a good move for KHANGAI, having been a creditable third over C&D last month, and he can regain the winning thread for his in-form connections. That may be at the main expense of fellow previous track-and-trip scorer Mirabello Bay, who has slipped to 3lb below his last winning mark and may be suited by dropping back in distance. Douglas Dc and Mhajim are entitled to be thereabouts as well.

DOUGLAS DC arrives out of sorts but would likely have finished a bit closer granted a smoother passage over C&D recently, so Tony Carroll's 7-y-o gets the tentative nod from a career-low mark with blinkers replacing his usual cheekpieces. Second choice is Khangai, who is taking his racing well and wasted no time confirming he's still in good form here last week. Disquietude and Virtaul Hug can fight out third.

Tthe vote goes to VIRTUAL HUG who is lower in the weights than when winning twice over C&D early last year.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content,

GEORDIE MACKEM improved from his first to second start when a promising second over C&D last time out, and he sets the standard on the back of that effort. Point-to-point winner Tiptoptim didn't shaped with encouragement when third over further at Plumpton on debut and he should be thereabouts, along with Big Wigg and Luckie Devil, who look to be the pick of the newcomers.

TIPTOPTIM gets the nod on the back of his promising third at Plumpton in December. Geordie Mackem was second over C&D last time and should go well again, while Daly Boy and Luckie Devil are interesting newcomers.

Lambourn-based Jamie Snowden's only runner on the card is TIPTOPTIM who has serious claims on the strength of his Plumpton run.

Seemed to need her stable/seasonal debut run here last month.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

TIGERS MOON shaped with promise when third on his handicap debut over 2m at Market Rasen last month and he looks the one to side with off an unchanged mark. Eric Carmen did it well when landing the spoils over the larger obstacles at Bangor recently and he merits the utmost respect back hurdling off the same mark. Rhiannon Ring is respected most out of the remainder.

In a very moderate race, TIGERS MOON appeals most having shown much improved form on handicap debut, particularly as he's bred to be much better than his current mark. Eric Carmen is the only runner to have won a hurdles race, so he's respected if able to back up his recent chase win, while Synchronist could be open to progress now sent handicapping.

Eric Carmen appears to hold a leading chance back over hurdles, while TIGERS MOON and Small Town Hero are interesting types.

LEDNIKOV was not for catching when making all in style over this distance at Southwell last time out and a 3lb rise could prove lenient as he looks to notch up a fifth career success. Well behind him on that occasion was Come On John (sixth), who subsequently improved to finish second over shorter here last week, while National Health is another to note, having been placed on his last three starts here.

Preference is for COME ON JOHN, who has hit the crossbar on several occasions since opening his account for this yard back in October and James Owen's 6-y-o deserves to get the rub of the green (caught further back than ideal here last week). Heading up the dangers is Lednikov, who responded well to front-running tactics to end a long losing run at Southwell recently, while Bloodhound and Desert Guest both warrant a second look, too.

This can go to COME ON JOHN who has been consistent since his last win and is off the same mark as when a close second six days ago.

PREANKA won in decent style on her debut at Windsor before finding Listed company a step too far at Ripon in August. She sets a decent standard for this grade and is expected to be a tough nut to crack, having switched to Stuart Williams since her last run. Magna Grecia Star ran with promise to finish third at Kempton and she is likely to enter the reckoning, while others to consider include Wise Stars and Up The Monk.

PREANKA had an excuse when well held in a listed race on only her second start and can resume her progression and make a winning return for new trainer Stuart Williams. Wise Stars and Magna Grecia Star showed promise when placed on the same card at Kempton recently and look the main threats unless the betting speaks in the favour of Marco Botti newcomer Aviano.

Two of these finished third on debut at Kempton 12 days ago. MAGNA GRECIA STAR is preferred as the time of her race was much quicker.

The switch to front-running tactics appeared to make a difference to AUTUMN ANGEL, with Tony Carroll's mare only beaten a neck over C&D last Tuesday. The six-year-old is able to race off a 2lb lower mark here and a repeat of that latest performance should be enough for her to record a sixth career success. Zepparella produced her best effort so far when going close at Kempton last month and she is respected along with Back Tomorrow, who finished third here a fortnight ago.

AUTUMN ANGEL is able to run off 2lb lower than when narrowly denied over C&D last week and must go well is showing up in similar form. Last-time-out Southwell scorer Lady Wingalong should play a prominent role again, while a lightly-raced profile suggests Zepparella could build on a promising first run over 6f at Kempton 12 days ago.

The vote goes to dual C&D scorer AUTUMN ANGEL who is 2lb lower than when beaten a neck back here last Tuesday.

ROGUE THUNDER has been running consistently well in handicap company in recent months and this drop into classified company represents a fine opportunity for him to come out on top. Kapparis Kid won at Southwell when last seen and the four-year-old is likely to enter calculations. Tilsworth Ony Ta has benefited from the drop to this level recently and is expected to be competitive.

KAPPARIS KID has already won a couple of similar events this year and has the form to make a winning start for this yard. Rogue Thunder and Tilsworth Ony Ta are others to consider.

The choice is ROGUE THUNDER (nap) who has been running well in handicaps over C&D lately. He drops to this level for the first time.

In what looks a trappy affair, NORDIC GLORY gets the tentative vote. He was far from disgraced when third after being keen over C&D last month and, provided he races more economically this time, the six-year-old could prove tough to peg back. Second Collection shaped with promise when third over 5f here recently and another bold bid looks likely upped to 6f, while Available Angel can fill the frame.

STAR OF ATLANTIS made a positive start for this yard when fourth in a C&D handicap 3 weeks ago and looks a big player if building on that. Second Collection and Nordic Glory should also be bang there.

The vote goes to NORDIC GLORY who finished third from the outside stall in a handicap here a fortnight ago and now drops in class.

COLLUSION scored comfortably over this track and trip last time out and a reproduction of that effort may well suffice off 4lb higher. Arlecchino's Gift impressed when making all over this trip at Kempton last month and commands respect off 2lb higher, despite an unfavourable draw. Roman Emperor lost little in defeat when a narrow second at Kempton last time out and another bold bid off an unchanged mark would come as no surprise.

COLLUSION found plenty for pressure when proving 1½ lengths too strong for Alafdhal over this C&D at the end of January and a 4 lb rise may not stop him. Having put in a good shift at Kempton recently, Roman Emperor has to be respected and he is feared most ahead of Arlecchino's Gift and Mighty Gurkha.

Despite being 6lb worse off with his old rival, the less-exposed COLLUSION can confirm January's C&D form with Alafdhal.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

NELSON GAY would have finished a lot closer but for being denied a clear run at a crucial stage over this track and trip last month, and he gets the vote to atone for that luckless display here. Basholo was a close second at this venue recently and another prominent showing looks likely upped 2lb, while each-way players may want to keep Buraback on side.

BURABACK did well to finish as close as he did in a Class 4 handicap at Chelmsford recently and he is appealing back down in class off the same mark here. If Basholo reproduces the form of her latest C&D second she won't be far away, while Beaumadier and Gustav Graves are others to consider.

This can go to BURABACK who knows his way around here and will find this easier than when third in a Class 4 at Chelmsford last time.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
