Miss Tempo |
(4) (4/6 -8%)4/6(-8%) | (4) Miss Tempo 4/6, Fairly useful hurdler. 9/1, good second of 14 in handicap hurdle at Naas (18.5f, soft) 32 days ago. Makes chase debut with her stable in good form. Big player. Fair 119-rated hurdler, a good run on latest, will be hard to beat if jumping adequately. |

Something Abouther |
(6) (10/3 -21%)10/3(-21%) | (6) Something Abouther 10/3, Fairly useful winner at 22f over hurdles. 4/1, held in third when unseated rider 4 out in novice chase at Fairyhouse (21.3f, heavy) on debut over fences 22 days ago. Not ruled out if building on it. Useful bumper and hurdles, unseated on chase debut, should be a factor with a clear round. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Missiee |
(5) (9/2 -29%)9/2(-29%) | (5) Missiee 9/2, Fairly useful winner at 21f over hurdles. 10/1, remote third of 6 in novice chase at Fairyhouse (21.3f, heavy) on debut over fences 22 days ago. Needs to take a step forward. 4-19 over hurdles, tailed off last of three on chase debut, ought to be capable of better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Kilashee |
(2) (12/1 +52%)12/1(+52%) | (2) Kilashee 12/1, Unreliable type. 300/1, stiff task when pulled up in Grade 2 chase at Thurles (20.2f, heavy) 39 days ago. Not taken lightly if on her A-game. Two wins over hurdles, 0-16 over fences but second on four occasions, others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Ma Hoey |
(3) (50/1 +0%)50/1(+0%) | (3) Ma Hoey 50/1, Poor chaser. 25/1, pulled up in handicap hurdle at Limerick (21f, heavy) 30 days ago, losing touch 3 out. Switches from hurdles to chase with others preferred. Two wins and five places from nine starts in points, moderate form on the track. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Barbaha Queen |
(1) (66/1 -32%)66/1(-32%) | (1) Barbaha Queen 66/1, Sixteen runs since last win in 2022. Modest winner at 16f over hurdles. 14/1, below form sixth of 10 in handicap chase at this course (16.5f, heavy) 49 days ago. Back up in trip. Best form at this track but inconsistent and faces a tough task at these weights. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
SOMETHING ABOUTHER finished ahead of principal rival Miss Tempo on a previous meeting last August. The selection might prefer a sounder surface and her jumping was novicey when falling on chase debut but might benefit from that experience. Miss Tempo would also prefer better ground and while her form has been hit-and-miss, her Naas run was encouraging. A debut point-to-point winner, she is rated 3lb higher than the selection (at 119) over hurdles but disappointed behind her at the Galway festival. Four-time winning hurdler Missiee was well held in the race in which the selection fell last month. Kilashee defeated Miss Tempo in a November 2021 hurdle but is a 16-race chase maiden while stablemate Barbaha Queen has a low rating. Dual point-to-point winner Ma Hoey, out of a half-sister to Lady Rebecca, has already had a foal and her recent racecourse form is poor.
MISS TEMPO has some fairly useful form to her name over hurdles so is taken to go in at the first time of asking over fences in a maiden where lots arrive with big question marks against them. Something Abouther can chase home Henry de Bromhead's mare if building on her Fairyhouse debut chasing effort.
This is a good opportunity for MISS TEMPO to make a winning chase debut. She was the best of these over hurdles and won a maiden point

Imperial Measure |
(3) (10/3 +17%)10/3(+17%) | (3) Imperial Measure 10/3, Successful from a 6 lb lower mark at Newton Abbot (16.7f) last summer and made the frame on 3 of his 4 starts since, 4 lengths second of 12 in C&D handicap 9 days ago. Nicely clear of remainder then and has more races in him from this sort of mark. Bled on Boxing Day but reliable in handicaps either side of that; C&D second last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Whynotnowroy |
(6) (4/1 +27%)4/1(+27%) | (6) Whynotnowroy 4/1, Maiden who is from a reasonable jumping family and caught the eye (in first-time hood) from out of weights when sixth in 16-runner C&D handicap 23 days ago, seeming to finish with more to give. Worth keeping an eye on from such a low mark. First-time hood seemed to help when much more encouraging run over C&D latest; can improve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Activist |
(1) (9/2 -157%)9/2(-157%) | (1) Activist 9/2, Fairly useful on Flat in France and, despite going in snatches, produced best effort in this sphere when taking 6-runner handicap hurdle at Plumpton (15.9f) 3 days ago. Return to further won't inconvenience him on that evidence and respected under a penalty. Improved form when winning 3rd handicap, over 2m at Plumpton on Monday; form chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Wellwillya |
(7) (11/2 +0%)11/2(+0%) | (7) Wellwillya 11/2, More encouraging signs in novice/handicap contests upon returning late last year and ran as well as could be expected in face of stiff task at Fontwell (19.2f, soft) 32 days ago. Likely he can be more competitive back in this more suitable grade. Not far behind a subsequent winner in latest handicap start (2m2f, soft); not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Come On Paddy Mac |
(9) (13/2 +54%)13/2(+54%) | (9) Come On Paddy Mac 13/2, Winning Irish pointer but not offered much in handful of starts over hurdles, including upon returning from a lengthy absence for new yard in recent weeks. Does at least start life in handicaps from a very low base but would need to see market support to make him of interest. Irish point winner in 2022; poor results in novice hurdles; check market on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Spicy Nelson |
(8) (12/1 -33%)12/1(-33%) | (8) Spicy Nelson 12/1, Offered little so far, labouring along way out when pulled up on 3m Wincanton handicap debut in December. A subsequent wind operation needs to have made a big difference but he does come here with his yard amongst the winners. Not yet shown much and pulled up on handicap debut over 3m; wind op since; now tongue tied. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Sarsen |
(2) (14/1 -17%)14/1(-17%) | (2) Sarsen 14/1, Placed twice in maiden hurdles for Alan King in summer 2022 but was unable to make an impact in 2 starts for new stable late last year. Handicapper has afforded him a chance if this marked step back up in trip/65-day break has positive effect. Promise in good-ground hurdles at 2m/2m4f; handicap form not yet matched up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Pivotal Sky |
(10) (14/1 +30%)14/1(+30%) | (10) Pivotal Sky 14/1, Achieved little in juvenile hurdles and fared no better when tenth of 14 on handicap hurdle debut at Wincanton (15.2f, soft) 48 days ago. Up in trip. Visor on 1st time. Modest handicap debut at Wincanton and needs lots more for the new trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Come On Nia |
(4) (20/1 -67%)20/1(-67%) | (4) Come On Nia 20/1, Telescope mare who was never involved down in trip but did finish clear of the rest when sixth of 12 in mares' novice at Chepstow (2m, heavy) 4 weeks ago. Switch to handicaps/return to further a plus here. Not disgraced on final qualifying run; may well do better now handicapping. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
ACTIVIST took a nice step forward after his runner-up effort at Lingfield to score in comfortable fashion at Plumpton on Monday. David Pipe's gelding has a 7lb penalty to shoulder and takes a step back up in trip, but that is unlikely to prevent him from going in again. The main threat might be Imperial Measure, who put in a promising display when hitting the crossbar over C&D and is turned out again before his revised mark kicks in. Wellwillya has claims judged on his third at Exeter two starts ago.
This looks fairly competitive but there was enough encouragement in his finishing effort over C&D last time to suggest WHYNOTNOWROY could just be worth chancing to build on that run operating from such a lowly mark. Imperial Measure has more races in him judged on his recent C&D second and is feared. Plumpton-scorer Activist back up in trip and Wellwillya also command respect.
A first-time hood seemed to help WHYNOTNOWROY last time and he looks capable of better. Monday winner Activist is hard to leave out.

Magical King |
(5) (8/15 +65%)8/15(+65%) | (5) Magical King 8/15, Fairly useful and consistent maiden hurdler who wasn't disgraced when fifth of 10 in handicap hurdle at Sandown (19.8f, good to soft) 26 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time. The form choice back in maiden company. 0-5 over hurdles but strong form in today's context and he's a leading candidate. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Willsburg |
(2) (9/4 -29%)9/4(-29%) | (2) Willsburg 9/4, Progressive sort who got off the mark in this sphere in 8-runner novice hurdle at Ffos Las (20f, heavy) 28 days ago, staying on well. Cheekpieces on 1st time and well in the mix with more improvement on the cards. Won at Ffos Las four weeks ago and the first-time cheekpieces could help with his jumping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Tommy Time |
(1) (13/2 -63%)13/2(-63%) | (1) Tommy Time 13/2, Irish bumper winner who matched that form at the second time of asking for new yard when runner-up under a penalty at Sedgefield in October. Failed to build on that when fourth of 7 in conditions event here (16f, heavy) 103 days ago but remains with potential up in trip after a wind op. Sedgefield winner; beaten here since but pedigree suggests the step up in trip will suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Brother Boris |
(4) (18/1 -80%)18/1(-80%) | (4) Brother Boris 18/1, Fifth of 11 in bumper (17/2) at this course on debut 26 days ago. Goes hurdling stepped up in trip now and he's no forlorn hope. Merely fifth here on sole bumper start but not ruled out now up in trip on hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Para Handy |
(8) (66/1 -100%)66/1(-100%) | (8) Para Handy 66/1, 18/1, seventh of 11 in bumper at this course (16f, heavy) on NH debut 26 days ago. Makes hurdles debut stepped up in trip. Possibilities. Well beaten on debut in bumper here four weeks ago and may be best watched now hurdling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Red Sam |
(6) (100/1 -400%)100/1(-400%) | (6) Red Sam 100/1, 10/1, pulled up in novice hurdle at Newcastle (20.3f, heavy) on debut 30 days ago. Lots more is required. There's potential in his pedigree but he was pulled up on debut at Newcastle in January. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Black Bart |
(3) (125/1 -525%)125/1(-525%) | (3) Black Bart 125/1, Cloudings gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to useful hurdler/very smart chaser (stayed 25f) Texas Jack. Market can prove a good guide. 10,000euros yearling; market check advised on debut but may be one for further down line. |

Zuul |
(7) (150/1 -200%)150/1(-200%) | (7) Zuul 150/1, Fair form shown in bumpers for Michael Appleby in 2022. Well below that level for new yard following an 18-month absence in a pair of 2m4f novice hurdles at Newcastle though. Well beaten in seventh this year on first two hurdle/stable starts (2m4f, heavy). |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
WILLSBURG benefited from stepping up in trip when getting off the mark over timber at Ffos Las at the start of the month. His jumping wasn't particularly fluent on that occasion and it is hoped the application of cheekpieces might aid his cause in that regard. Similar comments apply to Magical King, who also boasts the same headgear for the first time, while Tommy Time is expected to be competitive following wind surgery.
MAGICAL KING possesses much the best form on show so this reliable sort is taken to gain a deserved breakthrough success back in these calmer waters. Recent Ffos Las scorer Willsburg rates the main threat, with Tommy Time not discounted either if resurgent after breathing surgery.
Stuart Edmunds' Croft Farm stable is in tremendous form and this looks a good opportunity for MAGICAL KING to get off the mark.

He Fitz In |
(1) (3/1 -20%)3/1(-20%) | (1) He Fitz In 3/1, Latest win in hurdle at Navan in September. 9/2, creditable second of 11 in handicap chase at Punchestown (24.7f, soft) 105 days ago. Merits consideration. Runner-up in a 3m1f handicap chase at Punchestown in November; has a leading chance here. |

Tangental |
(5) (3/1 -20%)3/1(-20%) | (5) Tangental 3/1, Fair winner at 24f over hurdles. Fourth of 13 in handicap chase (9/2) at Navan (24f, heavy) 40 days ago. Probably has more to offer in this sphere and he's well treated on hurdling form. Ran okay when fourth in a 3m handicap chase at Navan last month; could be more to come. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Starlight Cato |
(4) (7/2 -5%)7/2(-5%) | (4) Starlight Cato 7/2, Lightly-raced maiden. 20/1, good second of 13 in handicap chase at Navan (24f, heavy) 40 days ago. Has good chance on form. Most recently runner-up in a 3m handicap chase at Navan last month; should go close. |

Lilian Bland |
(2) (6/1 -9%)6/1(-9%) | (2) Lilian Bland 6/1, Bit below form sixth of 14 in handicap hurdle (10/1) at Punchestown (20.2f, heavy) 8 days ago. Switches from hurdles to chase. Others more persuasive. 14-race maiden; more needed here but might be good enough to get into the frame. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Eddies Pride |
(7) (13/2 +13%)13/2(+13%) | (7) Eddies Pride 13/2, One win from 34 NH runs. Creditable third of 9 in handicap chase (18/1) at Fairyhouse (26f, heavy) 33 days ago. Should give another good account. Solid third in a 3m2f handicap chase at Fairyhouse last month; each-way chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Well Polly |

Father Jed |

Thegoaheadman |

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
STARLIGHT CATO failed to win from six point-to-point runs but showed improvement when finishing second in a recent handicap chase. His pointing form was satisfactory but having shown himself in a better light at Naas, looks likely to win from his revised 1lb higher mark. Tangental finished fourth in that recent race and while lightly-raced over fences and is rated 12lb higher over hurdles, is nonetheless quite well exposed in that sphere. He Fitz In neatly competes from 1lb below the race's ceiling rating and while consistent and suited by conditions, doesn't look ahead of the handicapper. Ten-year-old mare Eddies Pride has won just once from 34 runs but is an able soft-ground stayer.
TANGENTAL shaped with some encouragement at Navan last time and he's on a lower chasing mark than hurdling, so he's worth taking a chance on to get the better of Starlight Cato, who finished ahead of him (second) in the same race. He Fitz In is another one to consider.
There is a good chance though that Navan fourth TANGENTAL might come on enough for that run to turn the tables on Starlight Cato

Looks capable of following up. Played late to edge out a previous winner with the pair clear at Market Rasen. |

Night Jet |
(7) (7/2 +75%)7/2(+75%) | (7) Night Jet 7/2, Poor maiden who was again below form in a first-time visor when fifth of 11 at Ffos Las (15.8f, heavy) 28 days ago. Now 0-11 and has had a few chances in handicaps, failing to finish closer than 15l. |

Churchman |
(5) (11/2 +8%)11/2(+8%) | (5) Churchman 11/2, Made a much better fist of it on his second handicap start back down markedly in trip when fourth over C&D in November, late headway under considerate handling. Must enter calculations from 1 lb lower. Outpaced over C&D here last time but ran well and soft ground could well benefit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Odin's Quest |
(4) (6/1 -100%)6/1(-100%) | (4) Odin's Quest 6/1, Bumper winner who built on earlier promise when landing a weak Wincanton maiden hurdle in April and belatedly backed that up when third of 15 at Taunton (16.5f) in November. Good third at Taunton last time and his yard is 2-4 here this season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Duneomeno |
(8) (7/1 +72%)7/1(+72%) | (8) Duneomeno 7/1, Showed much improved form when off the mark on chase/handicap debut here (2m) in February 2022. Disappointing after, leaving Christian Williams after finishing a well-held fifth of 6 at Fontwell that September. Reverts to hurdles now setting out for a new yard after long absence. Could be on a good mark and he's with a new yard now returning from a long absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Pollyonesock |
(6) (20/1 -208%)20/1(-208%) | (6) Pollyonesock 20/1, Modest in bumpers and hasn't shaped without promise in maiden/novice hurdles. First run for yard after leaving Alastair Ralph and remains capable of better now switched to a handicap. Poor so far but handicapped accordingly and market may well guide on this handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Lady Alex |
(3) (25/1 -213%)25/1(-213%) | (3) Lady Alex 25/1, Promising start over hurdles when third in 2m Uttoxeter maiden in October 2022 but offered little after 14 months off at Wetherby on Boxing Day and was on the retreat when departing at the last back there last time. Makes handicap debut. Modest so far but this is her handicap debut and the yard is going very well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Wrong Way Harry |
(2) (40/1 -344%)40/1(-344%) | (2) Wrong Way Harry 40/1, Suited by a sound pace when off the mark in a Huntingdon handicap (20.7f) in December 2021. Not disgraced in the face of a stiff task on his stable debut at Clairefontaine 18 months later and would have run creditably had he completed there when last seen in July. Heavy-ground UK winner; beaten when falling in his latest French race last July. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Last-time-out winner HARA KIRI managed to get the better of what appeared a handicap blot at Market Rasen earlier this month. Olly Murphy's charge is effectively only 5lb higher in the ratings if taking Dylan Johnston's 3lb claim into account and the seven-year-old should take all the beating. Churchman caught the eye when a staying-on fourth over C&D in November and the Dunaden gelding may give the selection most to think about, shortly followed by Odin's Quest.
HARA KIRI did well to sustain his run from so far back to overhaul another thrown-in rival at Market Rasen 23 days ago and looks capable of defying an 8 lb rise on that evidence. Churchman caught the eye making late headway under considerate handling on just his second handicap start over C&D in November and must enter calculations, with handicap-debutante Pollyonesock another to consider.
Gary Moore's ODIN'S QUEST has to go right handed (blind in left eye) and he brings solid claims after a staying-on third at Taunton.

Try The Money |
(9) (9/4 +89%)9/4(+89%) | (9) Try The Money 9/4, Showed precious little in 3 quick qualifying runs during the spring but his pedigree provides hope for better now heading into handicaps at a low level. Nothing noteworthy in three hurdles at up to 2m4f; low mark now switched to handicap. |

Starts life in handicaps on a potentially good mark based on Flat exploits. Two 1m4f wins for the Charltons; not an instant hit over hurdles but handicaps more likely. |

Johannes |
(7) (10/3 +5%)10/3(+5%) | (7) Johannes 10/3, Fair 2m winner on the Flat in France. Has yet to get anywhere near that level over hurdles but is a potential improver now handicapping up in trip. Wide-margin 2m Flat winner in France; modest hurdle form but handicaps offer more scope. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Dance Havana |
(8) (13/2 -30%)13/2(-30%) | (8) Dance Havana 13/2, Showed some aptitude for hurdling when placed in a pair of juveniles last summer and is potentially well treated on her Flat form contesting her first handicap in this sphere for a new yard (left Alice Haynes). Early bumper promise; not yet shone over hurdles but probably needed handicap debut. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
This looks like a tricky puzzle to solve, so only a tentative vote goes to TRY THE MONEY. Henry Oliver's gelding has had excuses on two of his career starts so far, losing a shoe on debut and the ground possibly being too quick last time. Although he hasn't shown a great deal, better is anticipated now he enters the handicap ranks. Amalfi Bay, who produced his best NH effort to finish second at Exeter on his latest outing, could also have a say on his handicap bow, along with Johannes.
JOHANNES has been well held on all 3 starts over hurdles to date but, given he's a fair 2m winner on the Flat, it's reasonable to assume he can do much better now tackling a longer trip on handicap debut. Dance Havana and Amalfi Bay are other interesting handicap debutants, and they are feared most.
Johannes, Dance Havana and AMALFI BAY are all of interest on their handicap debuts with the last-named just preferred.

Not taken lightly. In fine form at Southwell on last three runs; also effective elsewhere; major player. |

Le Grand Vert |
(5) (7/2 +50%)7/2(+50%) | (5) Le Grand Vert 7/2, Matched previous best for current yard when third at Musselburgh (23.6f, soft) in January and shaped better than result at Sedgefield last time, headway when mistake fourteenth. Not discounted having eased further in the weights (visor on first time with tongue strap back on). 0-10 in Britain but fair run two starts ago and now 5lb lower; not written off. |

Da Vinci Hand |
(3) (9/1 -13%)9/1(-13%) | (3) Da Vinci Hand 9/1, After 6 months off, took a step back in the right direction when runner-up at Market Rasen (21.4f, good to soft) in November. Stamina stretched at Catterick (25.2f, soft) last time and he still needs to prove himself at 3m with hood now reached for. Step back in the right direction in November but weakened quickly over 3m1f last time. |

Sigurd |
(7) (10/1 +29%)10/1(+29%) | (7) Sigurd 10/1, Three-time C&D winner but his form has been going the wrong way, finishing well beaten when fourth of 9 in handicap at Catterick (25.2f, soft) last time. Others preferred. 12yo who has struggled at Catterick the last twice but the return to Wetherby may help. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Eveque finally gained a first success on his most recent outing at Sedgefield when proving too strong for COOLMOYNE (second). However, the former would have to command plenty of respect as the winner's improvement may well have come from stepping up to 3m3f and a 10lb pull at the weights could see Simon Waugh's gelding reverse the form over this distance. Le Grand Vert didn't appear to get home in the same contest and could bounce back in a first-time visor.
EVEQUE built on his second at Musselburgh in January when getting off the mark at Sedgefield next time and can score again now that he's up and running. Ali Star Bert has also been in good form and is respected, while Coolmoyne was runner-up to Eveque last month and could be thereabouts once more.
The 10yo EVEQUE got off the mark in fine style at Sedgefield in January and he is taken to defy a 6lb rise.

Robinstown |
(2) (7/4 -17%)7/4(-17%) | (2) Robinstown 7/4, Fairly useful hurdler. Course winner. Much improved when winning 8-runner claiming hurdle at Limerick (21f, heavy, 8/1) 30 days ago, unchallenged. Down in trip. Should go well again. Unlikely to get such an easy lead here as at Limerick but still has a favourite's chance. |

Good effort on last outing in this sphere, so not dismissed. No show in cheekpieces in a Dundalk handicap but good chance on his Punchestown run prior. |

Ballyadam Destiny |
(7) (11/2 +0%)11/2(+0%) | (7) Ballyadam Destiny 11/2, Fairly useful hurdler. Twelve runs since last win in 2022. Well-beaten fifth of 8 to Robinstown in claiming hurdle at Limerick (21f, heavy, 10/11) 30 days ago. Down in trip. Bit to prove after that but stands out on form, so he's still the one to beat. Ran no race on the inner track at Limerick behind Robinstown last time; can expect better. |

Answering |

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Seven-time winner ELLAAT might benefit from a recent all-weather outing and is better suited by this distance than most. His 2023 form was good, ran well in a November hurdle and likes heavy ground. Answering ran well in two recent useful maidens. The winner, runner-up and fourth-placed horses from his December run won subsequently and he indeed chased home that same runner-up when finishing second over course-and-distance recently. He concedes 4lb to the selection. Three-time winner Robinstown won a similar claimer by 25 lengths in January but dropping in distance is a concern. Ballyadam Destiny flopped in that Limerick claimer and now runs over an inadequate distance. Politicise hasn't won since October 2020 and is another which lacks pace at this trip. Cosmic Rock runs in first-time cheekpieces while veteran Magnium pulled up recently. Routine Excellence pulled up in a recent Musselburgh handicap chase on February 3, seems to have lost his way and would prefer further.
BALLYADAM DESTINY disappointed at Limerick a month ago but he had been in reasonable form prior to that and, if back on his game he should be capable of landing this. Robinstown won that race easily and will likely capitalise if the selection fluffs his lines again. Ellaat is also respected.
The vote goes to ELLAAT\ despite a disappointing effort at Dundalk. A repeat of his previous Punchestown run could be good enough

Jean De Monts |
(9) (28/1 -250%)28/1(-250%) | (9) Jean De Monts 28/1, Showed some ability when sixth in 2m minor event on his only outing on Flat in France but has been well held all three hurdling starts for his new yard. Needs this switch to fences to spark a big improvement. Poor hurdler but goes chasing for handicap debut and over a much longer distance. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
ON THE PLATFORM shaped better than the beaten distance suggests when third at Hereford last month. The eight-year-old races off the same mark as his C&D second in November and he could be ready to strike at this level. Market support for the returning Supervisor would be interesting, with Venetia Williams' veteran unexposed over this distance. Barrakhov also has the form to feature and he isn't easily dismissed having undergone a wind procedure since a third-placed finish at Huntingdon five weeks ago.
ON THE PLATFORM is proving a reliable sort and is weighted to gain his first success over fences. Supervisor could have a big say on his return, while Come On du Berlais is another to note now going chasing.
He's had some more time out but SUPERVISOR has races in him off his current mark if his jumping can stand the test.

Jackpot D'athou |
(1) (6/5 +13%)6/5(+13%) | (1) Jackpot D'athou 6/5, Fairly useful form in bumpers. Underwent breathing surgery before making a winning hurdles debut at Chepstow in November but only fourth in similar company there following month. (7) (200/1 -100%)200/1(-100%) | (7) Miss Popalong 200/1, Tailed off sole outing in bumpers and has offered little in a pair of novice hurdles at Taunton and Warwick this winter. Shown little in a bumper and 2 novice hurdles; yard has strong contender in Livin On Luco. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
More was expected from Jackpot D'athou when he could only manage fourth at Chepstow in December, and he will need to improve upon that display if he wants to deny LIVIN ON LUCO. The six-year-old beat a well-fancied Nicky Henderson runner by a neck at Chepstow, putting a fall at the same venue behind him. He could easily take another step forward and record a double. Mistral Milly can fight it out for the minor honours after her fourth at Lingfield's Winter Million fixture.
LIVIN ON LUCO possesses the best form on show so is taken to supplement his Chepstow victory at the chief expense of Jackpot d'Athou, who rates a major threat if getting back on the up after a break for a stable which has farmed this contest in recent years. Hurdling newcomer Barley Gin can't be ruled out either, especially if the market vibes are positive for Neil Mullholland's mare.
Just two serious form contenders and LIVIN ON LUCO is preferred to Jackpot D'Athou who ran flat last time out.

WRECKLESS ERIC represents a stable which is currently in excellent form and he's taken to build on a promising start to his career when finishing second at Newbury. I Wish You has placed on both starts to date and is entitled to improve on his latest effort as that was his debut over timber. Rockola makes her first appearance over hurdles and is respected along with Speiriuil, who has hit the frame on all three outings.
An interesting clash between promising pair WRECKLESS ERIC and I Wish You, with the excellent form of the Ben Pauling stable in February tipping things in the former's favour. Jonjo O'Neill newcomer Glimpse of Glory would also need considering should the betting vibes be strong.
Preference is for Newbury runner-up WRECKLESS ERIC, who sets a good form standard and can be expected to improve.

THE BIG CLOUD has losses to recoup following two recent defeats but was an unlucky loser on New Year's Eve. Gambled-on when finishing second here in early December, she met trouble in-running over this distance at Punchestown subsequently and while she is another frustrating 4lb-higher, should win from her mark. Cian Quirke returns from injury on Bonnie Kellie, which appears well handicapped in this sphere, being rated 23lb higher over fences. She has winning form at this distance in the past (in January 2022) but has been running in staying chases recently, which is concerning. Mag Dillane won a recent heavy-ground maiden hurdle but had previously been well held in handicaps and has plenty weight. Tingarren Express is a 20-race maiden but ran well behind a nicely-in winner over course-and-distance recently.
BONNIE KELLIE has been an improved mare over fences this season so looks interesting from her much lower hurdle mark. The Big Cloud heads the dangers on the back of 2 good placed efforts in December. Limerick maiden winner Mag Dillane should also play a part, while Tingarran Express was a good second over C&D on her latest start.
This could go to bottom-weight TINGARRAN EXPRESS, who saves her best form for here and can go one better than two weeks ago

Posted a solid fifth of 11 in handicap hurdle at Kempton (3m, heavy) over Christmas but pulled up at Newbury since. Needs first-time cheekpieces to help spark a revival. Yard won this race last year. Quiet season with the exception of her Kempton fifth and cheekpieces are now called on. |

Midnightreflection |
(2) (12/1 -33%)12/1(-33%) | (2) Midnightreflection 12/1, Registered a fifth career success with battling victory at Ascot (3m, good) in November. Shaped better than the result when sixth of 11 at Kempton (3m) over Christmas but her run of good form came to a halt at Lingfield last month. Running well until last time; ideally she probably prefers quicker ground than this. |

Phillapa Sue |
(4) (16/1 -60%)16/1(-60%) | (4) Phillapa Sue 16/1, Winner of a 3m Doncaster (good to soft) before Christmas but failed to reproduce that when only seventh of 16 at Newbury since. Never got into it from off the pace at Newbury but she's better than that. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
DELLA CASA LUNGA was an impressive winner over an extended 2m5f here earlier in the month and she is effectively 1lb better off today with Cameron Iles' claim taken into consideration. The only concern for the Champs Elysees mare is this longer trip, but a double could be on the horizon if her stamina doesn't ebb away. Recent Wincanton runner-up Time In The Sun is heading in the right direction and further improvement cannot be ruled out on her handicap debut, while Fortuna Ligna also holds claims.
7 lb-conditional Cameron Iles has a very healthy strike-rate in handicap hurdles this season and can boost that further on DELLA CASA LUNGA, who looks fairly treated up 6 lb for her course win 3 weeks ago even before her rider's allowance is taken into account. Handicap newcomer Time in The Sun is an interesting opponent, while Pretending should also have a say if her stamina holds now stepping up to 3m.
If she stays this longer trip, and Ludlow is a good place to try it, then the consistent PRETENDING (nap) can play a major role.

Good second at Lingfield next time and likely to give another good account. Led close home at 2m3f; kept on well over 2m4f since; ready for another go at staying trip. |

Art Decco |
(1) (10/3 -48%)10/3(-48%) | (1) Art Decco 10/3, Quickly back on track and looked well suited by the trip when scoring in first-time cheekpieces at Fontwell last time. May do better again, so worth considering. Won both Fontwell starts, latest at 3m2f in first-time cheekpieces this month; up 7lb. |

Cloudy Flamingo |
(6) (7/2 +83%)7/2(+83%) | (6) Cloudy Flamingo 7/2, Winning pointer who has made little impact under Rules and looks set for another struggle. 1-7 in points; nothing to show for hurdle runs; handicap chases should suit; 9lb wrong. |

Imperial Joe |
(4) (4/1 +50%)4/1(+50%) | (4) Imperial Joe 4/1, Most consistent last term, winning three times (twice here, including this race). Seemingly working his way back to peak form this season and step back up in trip should suit, so he's not without hope. Good C&D record and won this last year; 4lb higher than latest win here; solid show likely. |

Star Flyer |
(3) (5/1 -166%)5/1(-166%) | (3) Star Flyer 5/1, Promising sort. 15/2 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, career best when winning 12-runner handicap chase at Southwell (20.4f, soft) 27 days ago. Open to further improvement as a chaser and strong claims of following up. Three promising chase runs of late, over 2m4f and 3m; up 9lb for Southwell win; improve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Mortens Leam |
(5) (28/1 -75%)28/1(-75%) | (5) Mortens Leam 28/1, Five-time winner over fences but doesn't appear to retain much ability. Last won in April 2021 and struggled badly since back from absence in December 2022. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Star Flyer was sporting first-time cheekpieces (retained) when running out a ready winner over an extended 2m4f at Southwell and even with a 9lb hike to contend with, he warrants consideration. That said, preference is for KINGOFTHEWEST, who shaped like he was ready for this step back up in trip when finishing a staying-on second at Lingfield and, off an unchanged mark, he may take some stopping. Art Decco was a comfortable winner over 3m2f at Fontwell and, bidding to defy a 7lb rise, he commands attention too.
STAR FLYER reacted well to first-time headgear and jumped accurately when scoring at Southwell last time and a 9-lb rise might not be enough to stop him following up. He gets the nod over fellow last-time-out winner Art Decco, with Kingofthewest another one to consider.
Art Decco and STAR FLYER (nap) had good wins last time but the latter is particularly respected after a taking Southwell success.

(4) (11/2 -38%)11/2(-38%) | (4) Heros 11/2, Made a successful debut over fences at Taunton (18f) in November before following up over that same C&D the subsequent month. Laboured effort when last seen at Wincanton (20.2f, soft, 11/4) 48 days ago and yard are quieter now, so bounce back called for. Interesting down in trip if able to step forward in first-time cheekpieces. Multiple French winner; yet to shine in Britain but the drop back down in trip could help. |

(5) (18/1 -125%)18/1(-125%) | (5) Geryville 18/1, Winless last season but he kept his form well and resumed with a solid fourth in handicap chase at Sedgefield (29f) in October. Below par both starts since, though, and he's tricky to assess despite reapplication of cheekpieces. Has dropped down the weights but has struggled the last twice and has something to prove. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
EATON COLLINA could not have won any easier over C&D last time out and a 7lb rise for that success could prove lenient as he looks to follow up for his in-form connections. Ground conditions are in his favour once more and he should have too much for the capable Heros, as well as Will Sting, who was a creditable second at Leicester last month.
EATON COLLINA represents the in-form Kerry Lee team and can follow up his recent C&D success. Will Sting made life difficult for himself last time but still posted a creditable second-placed effort, with Placenet also intriguing down in trip with 2 runs for his current yard under his belt.
There was a lot to like about the comfortable win of EATON COLLINA over C&D four weeks ago and he can defy a 7lb rise.

OLYMPIC MAN won't excite everyone but has shown enough in two Irish runs to suggest he can win this. Beaten 18 lengths by now-stablemate Haut En Couleurs on Auteuil debut in 2020, he finished second in a Compiegne hurdle the following year but was then absent for 845 days prior to running well at the Galway festival in August. His jumping can be problematic however and made many errors when beaten at that course in October. He returns form a break but has heavy-ground form. Heavy-ground bumper winner The Story So Far was well beaten in two maiden hurdles but caught the eye when staying on behind a useful winner at Punchestown. He is eligible to make his mark. Stablemate On Your Way himself runs in his third hurdle and needs to improve to win. Hollow Rodger showed some ability at Thurles while Oakley is a good-ground flat performer who has his third run over hurdles.
OLYMPIC MAN stands out on form in this line-up and can make light of a 5-month absence with further progress expected for his top yard. Hollow Rodger and The Story So Far can fill the placings.
This should go to OLYMPIC MAN, beaten at 2-5 when runner-up at Galway in October, but is likely to be too good for these

More needed with blinkers replacing cheekpieces for the first time. Veteran who has only won the once, when in first-time cheekpieces in 2020; new headgear. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
The Stuart Edmunds stable can do little wrong at present and ARIZONA CARDINAL looked back to his best when scoring comfortably at Leicester last month. A 5lb rise for that success could prove lenient, and stepping back up in trip should be of no issue as he looks to see off the likes of One True King, who was a solid runner-up over C&D recently. Midnight Mary is another to consider dropped in grade.
ARIZONA CARDINAL's overall profile hints at consistency issues but, given the manner of his victory at Leicester last month, Stuart Edmunds' 8-y-o is fancied to make light of a 5 lb rise and record a fourth success over the larger obstacles. Duke of Deception kept mistakes to a minimum back over fences when runner-up at Aintree on Boxing Day, so he heads up the opposition, with Midnight Mary and One True King taken to fight out minor honours.
The 8yo ARIZONA CARDINA readily accounted for an in-form horse at Leicester and his stable continues on the crest of a wave.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
SPITALFIELD travelled like the winner for a long way before fading into third close home in testing conditions over 3m1f at Huntingdon and, nudged up 1lb with his stable in good form, he gets the vote to go two places better. My Last Oscar fairly bolted up at Hexham in December, but his inconsistent profile tempers enthusiasm. Rivers Corner clearly benefited from the step up to an extended 3m when winning readily at Wincanton and although raised 10lb, he can get involved again.
RIVERS CORNER had a lot in hand when stepping up to 3m for the first time at Wincanton so even a 10 lb rise may not stop him. Fellow last-time-out scorer The Midwife also looks feasibly treated from her revised mark so she's second choice ahead of Spitalfield, who travelled notably well for a long way over a slightly longer trip last time. There are also a few unexposed sorts to note in the betting in an interesting race for the level.
Rivers Corner won't mind how soft it gets but Market Rasen winner THE MIDWIFE is preferred in the hope the ground isn't too testing.

(9) (14/1 -27%)14/1(-27%) | (9) Paddy O'mahler 14/1, Showed ability in 3 qualifying runs before Christmas but made a disappointing start to his handicap career when down the field over 3m here last month. Yet to be asked for effort when falling fifth at Carlisle subsequently. 2 lb out of the weights. Back in trip after weakening over 3m here on handicap debut; others are more compelling. |

El Jefe |
(8) (22/1 -267%)22/1(-267%) | (8) El Jefe 22/1, Better than ever this season, completing a hat-trick in handicap hurdles at Haydock (18.9f) in December. Has shaped as if still in good form both starts since and Brian Hughes seems likely to suit his strong-travelling style. 1 lb out of the weights. Landed a hat-trick towards the end of last year but has finished held the last twice. |

Ubetya |
(6) (33/1 -50%)33/1(-50%) | (6) Ubetya 33/1, Capitalised on a falling mark over fences at Cartmel in May but has been pulled up on his last 2 outings. First hurdle start since February 2020. Well treated on chase exploits but reverts to hurdles with major doubt about current form. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
An impressive winner over C&D earlier in the season and an early faller on her most recent start at Haydock, WINDTOTHELIGHTNING could still be well treated off a mark of 132 and looks capable of regaining the winning thread. There was just under two lengths between War Soldier (first) and The Four Sixes (third) when they met over C&D earlier in the month and both are likely to be thereabouts again. North Parade and Uncle Bert are noted too.
A competitive handicap with the tentative vote going to UNCLE BERT. He stuck to his task behind a progressive one at Chepstow on his most recent outing and a capable 7-lb conditional now takes over in the saddle. War Soldier and The Four Sixes are closely matched on their running over C&D last time and they head the dangers.
Preference is for the thriving NORTH PARADE (nap), who completed a Newcastle hat-trick in good style a fortnight ago.

Open to progress. Player. Has a 16lb rise to cope with and the drop in trip is not a plus but has to be respected. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
FOLLY MASTER has been penalised 16lb for winning easily at Punchestown recently but might defy the hike. A point-to-point winner last May, he isn't ideally suited by dropping down in distance today but testing conditions will suit. Carlas Big Jim is 7lb higher than his recent course-and-distance win and while he has obvious claims, competes from a career high rating and is more exposed than the selection. Four-year-old Tranquil Sea improved on his handicap debut last month and while 4lb higher, can progress further. Mr Social has been running well but doesn't look ahead of the handicapper while Housemartin returns from a small break but likes testing ground. Whateys Quest was reported to be post race normal when pulling up here recently.
A case can be made for a few of these but TRANQUIL SEA signalled he's ready to get off the mark when a very good Punchestown second last time out and is weighted to go one better now. Folly Master rates a big threat however on the back of his comfortable success at the same track, while Housemartin, Carlas Big Jim and Whateys Quest can all have a say too.
Preference is for HOUSEMARTIN(nap), a winner on heavy ground here and unlucky under his penalty at Cork when last seen

Jour D'evasion |
(5) (11/10 +33%)11/10(+33%) | (5) Jour D'evasion 11/10, Shaped quite well in a bumper on debut and has steadily improved with each start over hurdles, second of 14 in Huntingdon maiden (15.8f) 5 weeks ago. Entitled to be in the mix again on that evidence. Has bumped into some good opposition and this looks his best opportunity yet. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Fourtowns |
(4) (7/4 -27%)7/4(-27%) | (4) Fourtowns 7/4, Steadily progressive in bumpers for Stuart Crawford and encouraging yard/hurdles debut display when fourth of 13 in novice at Newbury (16.3f) 3 weeks ago. Yard have been in great nick and respected with progress anticipated. Plenty to like about his fourth at Newbury, especially as he raced freely on heavy ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Schmilsson |
(1) (10/3 -48%)10/3(-48%) | (1) Schmilsson 10/3, Fairly useful on Flat for Andrew Balding and going the right way over hurdles, confirming abundant promise from Southwell with a smooth success in maiden company at Sedgefield (16.8f) 3 weeks ago. Penalised now but highly likely there's more to come. Looks to have more on his plate here with a penalty but unlikely to go down quietly. |

Karakoy |
(8) (50/1 -52%)50/1(-52%) | (8) Karakoy 50/1, Fair form on Flat, won minor event in 2023, but well held in handicaps last 2 starts. Sold from Harry & Roger Charlton 30,000 gns later in October and he offered little when tenth of 11 in a C&D juvenile 3 weeks ago. Hood reached for now. Raced freely and dropped right out when 20-1 for his hurdling debut on soft; hood goes on. |

Implied |
(7) (125/1 -150%)125/1(-150%) | (7) Implied 125/1, Oasis Dream gelding. Brother to a winner and half-brother to 3 winners on Flat, including smart 1m-9f winner Pocket Square. Modest form at best in handful of outings on the level and he's likely best watched now tackling hurdles for the first time. It was low-level stuff in his four runs on the Flat, all on the AW from 1m4f to 1m6f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Mambo Beat |
(6) (150/1 +0%)150/1(+0%) | (6) Mambo Beat 150/1, Fair on Flat (stays 1¼m) for Clive Cox but changed hands cheaply (2,000 gns) and he offered little starting out over hurdles at Hereford (16.2f) in November. Can only be watched back from 3 months off. Low-grade Flat winner who made a forgettable start over hurdles at Hereford. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Fixed Wing |
(3) (150/1 -127%)150/1(-127%) | (3) Fixed Wing 150/1, No better than mid-field in a pair of bumpers and ran only to a poor level on first of 2 starts over hurdles since the turn of the year. Rates a likely type for low-grade handicaps moving forward. 80-1 when tailed off behind Schmillson at Sedgefield and opposable on the back of that. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
An eye-catcher at Newbury on his hurdles debut, FOURTOWNS should have plenty more improvement to come on what is just his second start for the Ben Pauling yard. The five-year-old gets the vote ahead of Jour D'evasion, who was runner-up to a subsequent winner at Huntingdon while also finishing second over C&D on his penultimate start. A penalty for an easy success at Sedgefield will make life tougher for Schmilsson, but he is entitled to be thereabouts as well.
JOUR D'EVASION again ran well when finding only one too good in novice company at Huntingdon 5 weeks ago and a repeat should see him thereabouts again. Sedgefield scorer Schmilsson is improving nicely and he's feared under a penalty, with Fourtowns another expected to figure following an encouraging fourth at Newbury in a good contest.
There was a 50-1 winner last year but this looks good for one of the three form horses, of whom JOUR D'EVASION appeals most.

Walk In Clover |
(1) (2/1 +40%)2/1(+40%) | (1) Walk In Clover 2/1, Recorded back-to-back chase victories last spring and plenty of good efforts in defeat have followed, fourth in mares' handicap at Cheltenham (20.6f) in December. Doncaster assignment thereafter was a stiff task (pulled up) and this much more suitable. Useful handicap form at 2m and 2m4f this winter; out of depth latest; good claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Juniper |
(3) (2/1 +50%)2/1(+50%) | (3) Juniper 2/1, Won twice for Harry Whittington in 2022/23 and ended the campaign with good second in handicap chase at Cheltenham (25.2f) last April (form has worked out well). Shaped as if amiss on stable debut/return in first-time tongue tie in October, but she could bounce back returned to this grade. Two 3m chase wins; low-key start for new yard in October; first run on soft for 2 years. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Lilith |
(2) (3/1 -117%)3/1(-117%) | (2) Lilith 3/1, Notched her third success over fences at Carlisle last season and in a change of headgear, resumed winning ways in unimpressive fashion in that corresponding event earlier this month, rallying to lead run-in after looking held 2 out. Yard also saddles Juniper. Made it 2-2 at Carlisle last time; acts on sharp right-handed tracks too; on winning mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Whatsdastory |
(4) (5/1 +9%)5/1(+9%) | (4) Whatsdastory 5/1, Wasn't discredited on return from 6 months off when third at Hereford (25.2f) in November but wasn't in the same form in veterans' event at Doncaster next time. Needs to leave her latest effort behind back against her younger rivals. Winner and twice 2nd in three C&D starts, latest in this race last year; good mark now. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
The tongue-tie/visor combination (both worn today) appeared to do the trick for LILITH at Carlisle earlier this month and a 4lb rise might not be enough to anchor her if arriving in the same mood. Walk In Clover drops into class 4 company for the first time since April last year, when successful at Southwell, and she rates the biggest threat. Whatsdastory has yet to run a bad race in three visits here and she cannot be ruled out either.
Anthony Honeyball fires a couple of darts in this mares' handicap and it's JUNIPER who makes most appeal dropping in grade and with title-chasing Harry Cobden booked. Stablemate Lilith is sure to be popular having resumed winning ways at Carlisle last month, but the biggest threat may emerge from Walk In Clover, who faced a stiff task in listed company at Doncaster in December and will surely appreciate this easier assignment.
Lilith is likely to be dangerous but WALK IN CLOVER has strong handicap form this winter and this is a drop in class.

Beaumesnil |
(6) (5/1 -11%)5/1(-11%) | (6) Beaumesnil 5/1, Unreliable sort. 4/1 and blinkered for 1st time, creditable second of 6 in handicap hurdle at Catterick (19.3f, soft) 27 days ago, outbattled. Ballynagran |
(10) (40/1 -21%)40/1(-21%) | (10) Ballynagran 40/1, Notched second success when narrowly landing a Hexham handicap chase off this mark last May. However, he's none too consistent and has offered little in subsequent starts. Returns to hurdling, now. Course chase winner but has struggled in that discipline on his last five starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Righteous Ruane |
(9) (80/1 -60%)80/1(-60%) | (9) Righteous Ruane 80/1, Poor hurdler who didn't show much on debut for new yard at Carlisle 88 days ago. Needs to up his game on handicap debut. Goes h'capping off lowly mark but hasn't achieved much & others have more pressing claims. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Runner-up on two of his last three starts over fences, HERITIER has done well since joining new connections and it may be that a return to the smaller obstacles prompts a return to winning ways. Narrowly denied at Catterick, Beaumesnil can give him the most to think about and is noted along with Sailed Away, who wasn't beaten far on his penultimate start at Huntingdon. Others to note include Brandt, Play By The Rules and Western Jill.
HERITIER was runner-up having attracted support over fences at Sedgefield and he's back off his lower hurdles mark now, so he's fancied to open his account for his current yard. Sailed Away is a big threat dropped back in trip and Brandt is one to note on his first handicap outing.
The vote goes to HERITIER, who won over hurdles in November and has run some good races over fences for his new yard this winter.

(5) (25/1 -56%)25/1(-56%) | (5) Sky Tempest 25/1, Well held in bumper/completed starts in maiden hurdles but could improve now switched to a handicap. Perhaps just a hint of promise from the most recent of her four maiden hurdle runs. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
This looks weak and MADE IN THE WOODS might take advantage of bottom-weight. Successful once from 19 previous starts, she is rated 15lb higher over fences and is capable in that sphere. She was well held by the easy winner at Punchestown recently but defeated plenty horses and is ideally suited by today's stamina test. Glorious Singer is a 26-race maiden who ran well in a recent Thurles handicap but was well held behind the selection in January. Recent point-to-point winner Aleish Lass, which is out of a half-sister to smart Dedigout, is interesting on her return to hurdling but has enough weight. Dual points winner Majestic Designs could be nicely treated on her best form but was found to have 'blood at both nostrils' on her most recent run.
MADE IN THE WOODS is well treated on his chase form and, having fared best of those ridden prominently in a contest that became a bit of a slog at Punchestown on his most recent outing, he's put forward as the answer. Glorious Singer is a long-standing maiden but is sure to pose a big threat if reproducing her latest effort, while Sky Tempest could show more now switched to a low-grade handicap.
In a weak race, it may be worth taking the risk with recent Thurles third GLORIOUS SINGER, a maiden having her 25th run over hurdles

(5) (17/2 +70%)17/2(+70%) | (5) Moon Eagle 17/2, Patchy form for Gavin Cromwell in Ireland and she hasn't pulled up any trees so far for this yard. Hard to fancy. 16-race maiden who is 0-10 over fences and faces a stiff task from 13lb out of the weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Hamartia |
(3) (10/1 -43%)10/1(-43%) | (3) Hamartia 10/1, Placed twice in maiden company in Ireland for Colm Murphy but offered little in a couple of starts for current yard. Needs the switch to chasing to spark a revival. Quiet for this yard but was placed in Ireland and chasing could trigger a revival. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
GAME ON FOR GLORY has yet to strike over fences, but two runner-up efforts have been highly creditable and this looks like as good an opportunity as any to open her account. Lucy Wadham's charge is preferred to Lime Drop, who arrives with a similar profile and hails from the in-form Henry Daly outfit. Hamartia has yet to find her way for new connections but cannot be ruled out on some of her best Irish form.
This could develop into a match between in-form pair LIME DROP and Game On For Glory, with marginal preference for the former, who should be well suited by the step back up in trip.
This looks uncompetitive and much easier than the races GAME ON FOR GLORY has been contesting. Lime Drop is the danger.

Preference is for CINQUE VERDE, who was on target over C&D a fortnight ago. She was nudged up 2lb for that effort, but this looks a good opportunity given Jack Doughty can claim his full 7lb. Twilight Madness is the main danger as he has held his form well since winning at Lingfield on New Year's Eve, while Dubai Station rates best of the rest.
CINQUE VERDE won well under her promising rider here on her return a fortnight ago and can strike again. Twilight Madness might be the danger.
This looks good for CINQUE VERDE (nap), whose success two weeks ago came over C&D under today's claiming rider Jack Doughty.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
SORCELEUR brings the strongest form to the table, twice finishing third behind a winner who has since gone on to complete the hat-trick on his jumping bow, and Paul Nicholls' youngster is difficult to oppose. Harry Cobden has seemingly chosen to ride him over stablemate Berliath, a nicely-bred gelding who cost 65,000 pounds as a three-year-old. Calli Black rates best of the rest.
SORCELEUR has shown plenty behind a very promising one in a couple of bumpers and is the one to beat under Harry Cobden. Stablemate Berliath is an interesting newcomer, as is Whynotnowbart.
This looks all about SORCELEUR who has finished within close proximity of a smart prospect in bumpers at Exeter and Cheltenham.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
A few with chances, so only a tentative vote can go to DARK SIDE PRINCE. Jessica Macey's gelding struggled last time out, but he drops in class and is now 4lb below his last winning mark. Stall one ought to work in his favour too and it would come as no surprise were he to return to form. Cabeza De Llave did well to come from off the pace to win here 20 days ago, while Araifjan must also be taken seriously.
If CABEZA DE LLAVE is in the same form as when scoring here 3 weeks ago a 3 lb rise may not stop him. Araifjan has gained his 4 course wins over 6f but he is effective at the minimum trip and is second choice ahead of the reliable Mehmo.
This can go to DARK SIDE PRINCE, who was below form in a tongue-tie last time and that equipment is now left off.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Cocktail Dress kept on powerfully when narrowly denied over 7f here last week and she is likely to mount a serious challenge now sent over the mile. However, there has been no stopping Charlie Appleby of late and his newcomer MAGICAL HOPE gets the nod. Bred in the purple, she is likely to thrive over further in time but this looks a good starting point. More Than A Feelin shaped with promise on her debut and is noted too.
The well-bred MAGICAL HOPE is taken to make a successful start. Orchard Keeper is a big player after her much-improved showing at Wolverhampton, while Cocktail Dress just failed on her return here last week having been easy to back and can progress further up in trip.
Magical Hope is a fascinating newcomer but this can go to ORCHARD KEEPER, who showed improved form last time. There's more to come.

Flat winner in France; disappointing in Britain and needs to raise game if he's to win. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Stepping up to a mile was a key factor in an improved effort from IVASECRET when the gelding comfortably landed a class 5 handicap at Kempton last week and, given he has won off much higher marks in the past, a 5lb penalty might not be enough to prevent him following up here. Roscioli can also figure if building on his recent near-miss at the same venue, while Lunarscape is also respected.
It could be worth siding with the penalised IVASECRET, who found the return to this trip firmly in his favour when running out a good winner at Kempton 8 days ago and he remains with plenty of scope from a handicapping perspective on old form. Monkmoor Pip following a good run at Wolverhampton/re-united with Oisin Murphy rates the lead danger, ahead of Lunarscape.
The step up to this trip enabled IVASECRET to break a losing run last time and he can follow up under his penalty.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
The handicapper has given the consistent DOVES OF PEACE a chance despite him finishing third in six of his last eight starts. With track and trip both ideal, the Michael Bell-trained gelding holds a strong chance of gaining a first career success. Ballybaymoonshiner won over 7f at Kempton two starts ago and commands respect, while Captain Wentworth can also figure back over this trip.
A tight-knit handicap in which marginal preference is for UNITED FORCE who reverts to handicap company on a handy-looking mark and can end a lengthy losing sequence. Captain Wentworth is feared most now reverted to his optimum distance ahead of in-form pair Ballybaymoonshiner and Doves Of Peace.
Doves Of Peace is a player but he's yet to win and preference is for CAPTAIN WENTWORTH, who should be suited by the return to 7f.

Q TWENTY BOY's last appearance in a classified event saw him victorious at Wolverhampton last month and the nine-year-old makes plenty of appeal based on his recent second at the same venue in handicap company. Admirable Lad has been in mostly consistent form since the beginning of the year and is expected to be competitive once again, while Viewfromthestars is capable of going close.
Q TWENTY BOY has been in pretty good form since the autumn and might be good for another win here. The chief threat may come from stablemate Viewfromthestars. Universal Grace and Admirable Lad are others likely to be on the premises.
A chance is taken with SUMAC, who could get the run of the race from his low draw and is taken to beat Q Twenty Boy.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Hotspur Harry arrives here 2lb well-in following his C&D second last week when he was well supported. Robert Eddery's gelding is likely to go well once again, but he may play second fiddle to MR TRICK. A winner here off 1lb lower in December, he took a step back in the right direction when third at Wolverhampton latest and it would be no surprise to see him get back to winning ways. Curtiz and Twilight Guest are also noted.
HOTSPUR HARRY isn't entirely straightforward but he attracted support and shaped well over C&D a week ago and is worth a chance to go one better from a reduced mark. Mr Trick is in good order and looks a danger, while Twilight Guest could feature if he's ready to go after 4 months off.
There are a few to consider but it could be going with MARION'S BOY, who is on a good mark, is down in grade and gets Rossa Ryan.
Ths is the racecard key.
