9/2(-80%)
(5) Everyonesacritic 9/2, Winning hurdler who matched pick of form in that sphere when winning 11-runner handicap chase at Hereford (20.9f) 2 weeks ago. A repeat should see him thereabouts again up 5 lb.
Hereford success took his record in the month of February to 2-2; major player.

Dark Mix

8.5
17/2(+15%)
(1) Dark Mix 17/2, Bumper winner who failed to progress from hurdling debut in 2 subsequent runs in that sphere and produced a low-key display when pulled up on chase debut at Market Rasen (23.9f) 3 weeks ago. Has it to prove now.
Bred to do better still, being from a family that has served his trainer well.

16/1(-14%)
(4) Fine Investment 16/1, Point winner who unseated in a Cheltenham hunter in May and did too much in front when last of 4 at Perth (23.8f) later that month. Returns from 9 months off having rejoined former stable but more needed if he's to open his account under Rules.
Ran creditably on this card last year; unconvincing form otherwise under rules.

River Run Free

0.4
2/5(+40%)
(2) River Run Free 2/5, Well held in novice/maiden hurdles towards the end of 2024 but different proposition sent chasing with a tongue strap added, following up his Lingfield victory with the minimum fuss in 8-runner C&D handicap 12 days ago. Lead claims fin hat-trick bid from 6 lb higher mark.
Two from two since switched to chasing; recorded the latest win over C&D; respected.
3
5th (3) Ultra Viers (28/1 +44%)
Ultra Viers

28
28/1(+44%)
(3) Ultra Viers 28/1, Runner-up twice in hunter chases over C&D. However, remains a long-standing maiden under Rules and he offered little back from 9 months off when pulled up in race won by River Run Free here 12 days ago. Passed over.
Pulled up in the C&D contest won by River Run Free; usual hood now removed.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

RIVER RUN FREE continues to go from strength to strength and a 6lb rise for his most recent success over C&D may not be enough to prevent him from landing the hat-trick. Conditions look to be in his favour once more and it may be that comfortable Hereford winner Everyonesacritic gives him the most to think about on the slight drop in trip. Fine Investment can pick up the pieces if the aforementioned pair falter.

RIVER RUN FREE has looked a different proposition switched to larger obstacles, following up his breakthrough Lingfield victory with the minimum of fuss over C&D 12 days ago. He holds obvious claims again with further progress distinctly possible. Fellow last-time-out winner Everyonesacritic comfortably rates the chief threat.

With further progress plausible, RIVER RUN FREE is taken to complete a hat-trick. Everyonesacritic is feared most.

(3) Throne Hall 66/1, Useful sort at his best on Flat and fairly useful hurdler. However, he was very disappointing on level in Britain at the end of 2024 and went with no encouragement back over timber at Ffos Las earlier this month.
Won over hurdles in Sweden in September; ordinary efforts, Flat and jumps, since.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

A step up in trip worked just a treat for QUIAN when scoring a shade cosily over C&D 25 days ago. A 5lb rise in the ratings looks more than fair and a brace could be on the cards. The biggest threat may emerge from fellow last-time-out winner Upfordebate, who is having only his fourth start in handicap company. Knacker Trapper could also feature.

QUIAN was having just his second start for Lizzie Quinlan when scoring over C&D last month and remains nicely treated on old form. He can follow up. Tarbet Ness and Present Fair are feared most.

This can go to UPFORDEBATE, who showed improved form with a tongue-tie fitted last time. Quian looks his main threat.

(5) Ronnies Reflection 11/2, Little show over hurdles but he got off the mark in 6-runner handicap over C&D in December. Shaped better than the distance beaten suggests at Uttoxeter subsequently.

(2) Jumper Madrik 6/5, Didn't offer much in novice/maiden hurdles, but left those efforts behind sent chasing when winning 9-runner handicap at Leicester (20.1f, soft) in December. Did well under the circumstances when following up at Wetherby and capable of better still over this longer trip.
Two from two since switched to fences and handicap level; capable of further progress.

Coal Fire

9/2(+40%)
(4) Coal Fire 9/2, Twice a winner over hurdles for Peter Bowen in 2023 and proved he retains a large bulk of his ability back over fences when fifth of 11 in handicap at Ludlow (23.8f) 20 days ago. Possibilities if building on that.
Could go well off a handy mark with Ludlow reappearance under his belt.

|PU| (1) Mixedwave (5/1 -25%)
Mixedwave

5
5/1(-25%)
(1) Mixedwave 5/1, Won 2 of his 7 starts last term. Yet to fully fire this time round but not discredited when fifth at Doncaster on most recent outing and can't be written off from an easing mark.
Scored off 1lb higher on last attempt in this grade; 1-1 at Leicester; interesting.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

It is difficult to look past JUMPER MADRIK, who scored comfortably over 2m4f here in December before doubling up at Wetherby earlier in the month. A further 7lb rise will make life difficult, but he should improve for going up in distance, with the capable Mixedwave looking best placed to chase him home off a mark 1lb lower than his last success. Making his second start for new connections, Coal Fire cannot be ruled out on the drop in distance.

JUMPER MADRIK did well to recover from an unpromising position to follow up his success here at Wetherby last time and, with further progress on the cards over this longer trip, he's taken to bring up the hat-trick. Mixedwave has slipped to a good mark and seems to be coming to the boil, so is feared most.

Hat-trick seeker JUMPER MADRIK (nap) looks capable of further improvement and is first choice ahead of Ronnies Reflection.

3
3/1(+25%)
(4) My Portia 3/1, Justified good support in going one better than at Leicester when scoring at Market Rasen last month. Lost all hope with a serious error back at former course 12 days ago and well worth another chance.
Market Rasen winner in December; excuses for poor run latest; best form going right-handed.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

A drop in distance saw a much-improved performance from recent Sedgefield runner-up BEAT THE EDGE and another bold bid is forecast. Micky Hammond's inmate only gave way in the closing stages over an extended 2m3f that day and this trip could really suit. Treaty Boy's stamina also appeared to ebb away when finishing sixth over an extended 2m4f at Newcastle latest and he isn't taken lightly racing off his last winning mark. Fearless Action is also noted.

MY PORTIA is clearly an improved model all of a sudden and can quickly resume winning ways after a serious jumping error cost her all chance at Leicester 12 days ago. Fearless Action and Beat The Edge both have risks attached to them for different reasons but are also capable, too.

The suggestion is FATHERS ADVICE, who has yet to win over jumps but has run creditably on several occasions including last time.

May prove resurgent dropped in class; won off 4lb higher over hurdles last February.

Nancy Till

50/1(+0%)
(5) Nancy Till 50/1, Made frame both starts in Irish points but hasn't offered a great deal under Rules and arrives on back of poor effort over hurdles at Bangor. 3 lb out of the handicap.
Has the weakest form claims in this field.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

The suggestion is OVERABOTTLEOFRED, who showed improvement from first to second start over fences when runner-up over further here last time out. The form of that race has worked out well since and Tom Gretton's charge may be able to get off the mark on the drop in trip. Lady Pretender has strong claims on her penultimate second here over 2m, while Shesupincourt looks to build upon a respectable placed effort over further at Huntingdon last time out.

Preference is for OVERABOTTLEOFRED, who bettered her hurdles form at the first time of asking in this discipline here in December and is entitled to build on that. Lady Pretender rates the chief threat.

Lightly raced OVERABOTTLEOFRED could well take another step forward and open her account. Lady Pretender is feared most.

The Last Cloud offered more encouragement on his third-placed effort over an extended 3m1f at this venue 15 days ago and he's heading in the right direction. However, this marked drop in distance is an obvious concern, so BALLYVANGO rates the one to be with. Martin Keighley's gelding has filled the runner-up spot on his last two outings and a breakthrough victory looks imminent. Solent Gateway could figure too.

SPACEPORT, a fairly useful dual winner on the Flat, is a most interesting hurdling debutant in the context of this race and is selected to get his career in this sphere off to the perfect start. Ballyvango hasn't looked totally straightforward but has shown a fair level of ability on all 3 hurdle starts to date and should go well once more. Solent Gateway can fill the places if going the right way from his Wetherby hurdle bow.

Fairly useful recruit SPACEPORT holds a leading chance provided he takes well to hurdles. Ballyvango is a solid danger.

LUCKY LUGGER had been a model of consistency since being sent over fences prior to his recent Uttoxeter romp. Matt Sheppard's gelding was raised 5lb for that performance but he's tasked with a similar scenario today, and looks to have outstanding claims once again. Diamond Dice will have frustrated favourite backers when whipping round and unseating his rider at the start last time but he should go very close if behaving himself today. Mr Grey Sky can chase the pair home.

LUCKY LUGGER gained reward for his consistency when scoring at Uttoxeter earlier this month and looks the safest option in a tricky-looking contest. Diamond Dice rather blotted his copybook at Carlisle last time but will be dangerous if putting his best foot forward.

Well-handicapped 11yo MR GREY SKY returned to form with a pretty good effort last month and might dominate from the front here.

(1) Classic Maestro 8/11, Is enjoying a fine season and he readily bagged his fourth success (cheekpieces fitted) in 5-runner handicap chase at Leicester (15.9f, heavy) 12 days ago. Really likeable sort who is a player once more.
Winner of two of his five races over fences; could go well but best form is at about 2m.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content,

CLASSIC MAESTRO sets a fair standard and appeals strongly after notching a ready success over 2m at Leicester 12 days ago. With the same jockey retained and a 3lb higher mark looking fair, a quick double is within reach. Not Staying Long is feared most after a brace of C&D wins in December, although a 15lb hike demands a lot more. Sedgefield winner Master Breffni appeals more than Matchless.

CLASSIC MAESTRO jumped superbly when going in at Leicester recently and Jennie Candlish's likeable sort is taken to bag a fifth win of the campaign and edge out the hat-trick seeking Not Staying Long. Sedgefield victor Master Breffin also needs factoring in.

Although up 25lb NOT STAYING LONG (nap), who is 2-2 over fences, has plenty in her favour and is taken to beat Master Breffni.

(5) Fine Dining 50/1, Winless in points and went with little encouragement on Rules debut here 12 days ago.
0-5 in points; 40-1 when pulled up here on recent rules debut.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content,

Most of these have yet to race under Rules, so it might pay to side with FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY. He lacked fluency over 3m at Bangor recently, but cheekpieces are reached for this time around and a drop in trip could be more to his liking. Pyleigh Court showed some promise over an extended 2m6f here latest having been off the track for 650 days so he might step forward now, while three-time point winner Important Notice is another to consider.

Those with Rules experience haven't shown a great deal so a couple of well-bred newcomers from the pointing field could well dominate, with Denman's nephew IMPORTANT NOTICE preferred to Bob Olinger's half-brother Wallace Olinger.

The most appealing option is rules debutant IMPORTANT NOTICE, who has finished first past the post in five of his last six points.

(6) Poetry Man 13/8, Failed to trouble the judge over hurdles but improved on previous chase exploits back from 8 months off when winning 13-runner C&D handicap chase in December, drawing clear straight. Handicapper has reacted with an 8 lb rise but he could yet have more to offer on that evidence.
Off the mark over fences in C&D event last time; 8lb higher here so needs to improve again.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

The Irish raider From The Ashes adds a touch of intrigue and warrants close inspection given he is suited by a good stamina test and wasn't beaten too far at Windsor last month. However, POETRY MAN got his act together when making all over C&D in December and could again be hard to reel in if showing the same level of zest on the front end. Musselburgh winner One More Stroke is the pick of the remainder.

FROM THE ASHES' strike rate tempers enthusiasm but he returned to form when third at Windsor on his latest outing 37 days ago, doing well to recover from a serious mid-race error. He gets the narrow vote to come out on top, with last-time-out winners One More Stroke and Poetry Man others of interest.

Having run better when third at Windsor last time, Irish raider FROM THE ASHES looks the one to beat. One More Stroke is next best.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

Gracchus De Balme lost little in defeat when finishing second to My Drogo in a similar event at Haydock last time out, but although respected, it is GIVEGA that shades preference. A winner between the flags on his first start for Luca Morgan before bolting up over C&D just 12 days ago, he looks sure to have more in the locker. 14-year-old Bennys King landed the corresponding event 12 months ago and last month's Warwick second would suggest he can go close again.

GRACCHUS DE BALME rates the pick of the weights on the back of his good recent Haydock second so edges the vote from C&D scorer Givega who looks to have more to offer in this sphere and rates a big threat. Last year's victor Bennys King can also have a say in this competitive hunter chase.

Gracchus De Balme is respected but slight preference is for GIVEGA, who was a wide-margin C&D winner 12 days ago.

Three AW wins in 2025; handy mark again but needs to leave recent efforts behind him.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

Now that the penny has dropped for STAR OF JUPITER after a comfortable success in a classified contest over C&D recently, the four-year-old is likely to have plenty more improvement forthcoming and a mark of 53 could underestimate him on handicap debut. Not beaten far over 7f at Newcastle last time out, Al Baahy is of interest, while Khangai is another to note.

MY BROTHER MIKE bounced back to form reverting back to patient tactics when finishing a close-up fifth over shorter here 2 weeks ago and, back on his last winning mark, he could be worth chancing to build on that run back up in trip. Al Baahy, Star of Jupiter and Khangai are others to consider.

The form of MY BROTHER MIKE's latest fifth has been well advertised and he can get the better of the unexposed Star Of Jupiter.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

The hat-trick seeking ASA is the most obvious starting point and won't need to raise her game by much to brush aside the 7lb penalty imposed for a facile 27-length victory notched at Southwell last week. Forest Blaze and Clondaw Royale are a couple of solid options, and Rumble B represents some each-way value given the veteran tends to go well for Lewis Dobb.

ASA is going from strength to strength and hard to oppose under a 7 lb penalty for her recent easy Southwell victory. Forest Blaze could emerge as the main danger to Philip Kirby's thriving mare now his stamina is unlocked more with Clondaw Royale, Grove Road and King Casey in the picture for minor honours.

Thriving mare ASA was a wide-margin winner when back over hurdles last week and has now collected three wins since Boxing Day.

Ex-Irish filly who has lost her form since last June; debut for new yard.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

Not beaten far over further here the last twice when travelling well towards the front, HARLINGTON is likely to be suited by a drop in trip having scored over C&D last September. The son of Hunter's Light may be able to dictate and gets the nod ahead of unexposed handicap debutant Fazen, and Olympic Quest, who returns to action after going close over track and trip in October.

HARLINGTON is threatening to come good so gets the vote with his latest third here looking solid form. Come On John is next best back down in trip ahead of Opticality.

Consistent HARLINGTON (nap) holds particularly solid claims and is first choice ahead of Olympic Quest.

Poor effort last time took her AW record to 0-14.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

ARTS OF WAR has yet to live up to her costly price tag, but Roger Varian's charge could be well treated off a mark of 70 on her handicap bow and she may be able to see off the more experienced Runaround Sioux going up in trip a furlong. Placed on two starts here previously, Storm Valley has done very well since those efforts and must be high on the shortlist too.

STORM VALLEY did well for this yard last year so remains of interest having likely needed her comeback 3 weeks ago. It looks significant that connections are persevering with the well-bred Arts of War back from an absence so she may emerge as the biggest threat on handicap bow. Granary Queen is another who is expected to benefit for her recent return.

Interesting handicap debutante ARTS OF WAR is preferred even though she's been absent for over a year. Next Trick is second pick.

HAVANA JOY did herself no favours by running keenly on her racecourse debut at Kempton 20 days ago and did well to finish third under the circumstances. Sure to be wiser and open to any amount of improvement, the daughter of Havana Grey is an attractive proposition. Cemlyn and Star Zia are the clear pick of the remainder, with the latter feared most as she sets the standard on official ratings.

HAVANA JOY offered something to work on when third at Kempton 3 weeks ago and shades the vote over Mayday Mayday, who was too green to do herself justice over C&D early this month. Cemlyn and Star Zia should also be bang there.

Cemlyn should go well but MAYDAY MAYDAY can leave her debut effort behind her and she is preferred.

Modest strike-rate and better known for 5f exploits; placed over C&D last time though.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

SISTERS IN THE SKY boasts the most convincing recent profile and, still well treated on his past exploits, has a decent chance of extending his run of good form by posting back-to-back C&D wins within the calendar month. Under Curfew is feared most under a 4lb penalty for his own track and trip success from last week. Fellow course winners Shamardia, who wears first-time cheekpieces, and Thismydream can also figure off competitive ratings.

The likelihood of a well-run race will play firmly into the hands of recent C&D winner SISTERS IN THE SKY, so he's selected to come out on top again operating from a 1 lb higher mark. Similar comments apply to fellow last-time-out scorer Under Curfew and he's respected. Radiant Angel is another worth a second look having eased in the weights of late.

Sisters In The Sky is high on the list but cheekpieces could spark a revival from the well-treated SHAMARDIA.

(1) Just Typical 4/1, 4-y-o who posted a career-best display to make it 2 wins from last 3 starts in 11-runner handicap at Newcastle (1m) 5 days ago. Possibilities again turned out quickly under a penalty.
Won two of his last three; penalty for last week's win demands another career best.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

It is hard to ignore JUST TYPICAL, who has won two of his last three starts and has thrived on being kept busy since the turn of the year. Ian Williams' four-year-old escapes a penalty for last week's mile success in a restricted riders' race at Newcastle and must have every chance of following up with Ryan Kavanagh retaining the ride. Pessoa is hard to get right, yet is notable with first-time cheekpieces tried. Inexplicable and Plumette are other course winners who at least merit betting checks.

CHARLATAN again ran well and possibly would have come out the right side of a tight finish with a clearer run through when second over C&D last week. Clear of the remainder then, he holds sound claims operating from the same mark. Just Typical arrives on the back of a career-best success at Newcastle and he's feared, with Pessoa and Carey Street others worthy of a second look.

Charlatan is a solid contender but the booking of Rossa Ryan suggests this is D-Day for NIGHT ARC and a revival seems likely.

Sense Of Worth appreciated a return to 1m4f when scoring over C&D seven days ago and another bold bid looks likely. However, a 4lb penalty could be enough to thwart the veteran in his follow-up bid and preference is for the rejuvenated INIT TOGETHER. The seven-year-old has proved triumphant on four of his five outings since racing under the Tony Carroll banner in January and there still looks to be more to come. Upepo is also worth a second look.

A few with chances but EARLY MORNING DEW wasn't seen to ideal effect when fifth at Lingfield last time out and can capitalise on a handy-looking mark. Aiming High heads the list of dangers now his stamina is unlocked more, with in-form duo Upepo and Sense of Worth also firmly in the picture.

Back up in distance, AIMING HIGH could well take advantage of a handy mark. Star Time is second choice.

Having returned to form when runner-up in a similar contest at Southwell 13 days ago, a breakthrough victory could be on the horizon for MAVERIC'S MAGIC. The introduction of a tongue-tie and hood could eke out some improvement in the Bungle Inthejungle gelding and he won't find many weaker contests. The biggest threat may emerge from Second Collection, who holds leading claims if shaking off a last-placed finish over C&D a fortnight ago, ahead of Battle Point.

SECOND COLLECTION rates the pick of these weights and is best forgiven his latest C&D run when caught wide so gets the vote. Maveric's Magic is next on the list on the back of a good Southwell second. C&D scorer My Turn Now can also have a say if back on her A-game.

Admirable Lad is likely to fare better today but SECOND COLLECTION is taken to come out on top dropped into 0-50 company.
