1st (14) (7/1 +83%) The Lord Maid |
7/1(+83%) | (14) The Lord Maid 7/1, Twice-raced maiden. Third of 12 in bumper at Punchestown (16.2f, soft, 66/1) 31 days ago, unsuited by drop in trip. Makes hurdles debut. Third in a mares bumper at Punchestown last month; more needed on her hurdles debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (12/1 +33%) Lep Around |
12/1(+33%) | (8) Lep Around 12/1, Promising individual. Hooded, second of 10 in novice hurdle at Limerick (16f, heavy, 11/1) on NH debut 16 days ago. Likely to improve and she's one to consider. Limerick runner-up; much more needed here but she should improve for that debut effort. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (3/1 +40%) Gaillimh A Run |
3/1(+40%) | (2) Gaillimh A Run 3/1, Fairly useful 2m bumper winner. Fifth of 17 in novice hurdle at Naas (16f, soft, 13/2) on hurdles bow 63 days ago. Should improve. Did not run badly on her hurdles debut at Naas in December after eight months off; player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (7/2 +53%) Kiltealy Park |
7/2(+53%) | (7) Kiltealy Park 7/2, Promising type. Third of 11 in novice hurdle (12/1) at Punchestown (20.2f, soft) on NH debut 31 days ago. Not taken lightly with improvement anticipated. Probably more to come from her but the drop back in trip is not an obvious plus. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (80/1 -21%) Molly Hall |
80/1(-21%) | (3) Molly Hall 80/1, Modest Flat winner. Thrice-raced maiden under Rules. 80/1, eighth of 11 in novice hurdle at Punchestown (20f, heavy) 17 days ago. Two runs over hurdles and has been let down by her jumping both times; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (200/1 -60%) Mrs Millionaire |
200/1(-60%) | (10) Mrs Millionaire 200/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Tenth of 11 in novice hurdle (250/1) at Naas (18.5f, soft) 18 days ago. Beaten out of sight in three maiden hurdles; safe to look elsewhere. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (11) (150/1 -582%) Noriska De La Mare |
150/1(-582%) | (11) Noriska De La Mare 150/1, 14/1, eighth of 10 in novice hurdle at Limerick (16f, heavy) on hurdles bow 16 days ago. Well beaten on her hurdles debut at Limerick last month and no obvious chance on that form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (13/2 +19%) Joya Del Mar |
13/2(+19%) | (6) Joya Del Mar 13/2, Lightly-raced maiden under Rules. 9/4, bit below form third of 14 in novice hurdle at Fairyhouse (18.2f, soft) 33 days ago. Has good chance on form. Respected here but shapes like a proper staying type and might just fall short. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (12) (2/1 +33%) Pallas Athene |
2/1(+33%) | (12) Pallas Athene 2/1, Promising sort. 7/4, fourth of 11 in novice hurdle at Punchestown (20.2f, soft) 31 days ago. Looks competitive on form. Slight drop back in trip could well suit although more is needed in a better race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (25/1 +11%) Ixigreczed |
25/1(+11%) | (5) Ixigreczed 25/1, Twice-raced maiden under Rules. Third of 10 in novice hurdle at Limerick (16f, heavy, 50/1) on hurdles bow 16 days ago. Needs a couple of these to falter. Faded into third after several jumping errors at Limerick; this looks a tough ask. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (66/1 -136%) Chatterbox |
66/1(-136%) | (4) Chatterbox 66/1, Fair maiden on the Flat. Twice-raced maiden in this sphere. 17/2 and hooded for 1st time, fell in novice hurdle at Limerick (16f, heavy) 16 days ago (looked held in fourth place at the time of his departure). Would have been placed but for a last flight fall at Limerick last month; more needed here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (150/1 +40%) Mountrivers Lass |
150/1(+40%) | (9) Mountrivers Lass 150/1, Twice-raced maiden. 150/1, eleventh of 12 in bumper at Punchestown (16.2f, soft) 31 days ago. Makes hurdles debut. Well beaten in two bumpers and makes no appeal in this company on her hurdles debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

200/1(+60%) | (13) Princess Fiadh 200/1, Twice-raced maiden under Rules. 200/1, seventh of 10 in novice hurdle at Limerick (16f, heavy) on hurdles bow 16 days ago. Beaten a total of 220 lengths in a bumper and a maiden hurdle; makes no appeal. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
CUTA DES AS gets the vote on her hurdling debut. The daughter of It's Gino was a bumper winner last season and ended that campaign with a fine effort to finish third in Grade 3 company at Fairyhouse. She already has jumping experience, having won a point-to-point, and this looks like a nice place to start off over timber. Kiltealy Park and Pallas Athene were third and fourth in a tight finish behind Annalecka at Punchestown a month ago. The former finished off really strongly then and is fancied to confirm placings. That was her track debut and she may have scope for a bit more improvement.
PALLAS ATHENE was just behind the re-opposing Kiltealy Park when fourth at Punchestown last month but the result may have been different had Gordon Elliott's charge met the final flight on a better stride. She is taken to reverse the placings with that rival and emerge on top here. That said, Kiltealy Park is entitled to build on that Rules debut effort and she is feared, along with the Willie Mullins-trained hurdling debutante Cuta Des As, Joya Del Mar and Lep Around.
A good standard is set on her bumper form by CUTA DES AS and she can overcome a 10 month absence on her hurdles debut

1st (4) (7/2 +75%) Kamaxos |
7/2(+75%) | (4) Kamaxos 7/2, Some solid efforts in handicaps prior to making the most of a good opportunity back in maiden company at Market Rasen (20.5f, good) in March 2022. Ran well back in a 0-145 handicap on final start that season when last seen and good claims from his reduced mark if retaining most of his ability. Big shout on most form two seasons back but he has not been seen for 663 days. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (14/1 -115%) Pozo Emery |
14/1(-115%) | (6) Pozo Emery 14/1, Promising novice hurdler for Paul Nicholls in 2021. Pulled up in 2 chase starts for new yard since returning from a long absence but proved he retains some ability in a first-time visor and tongue strap dropped in grade/returned to hurdling when third in a claimer at Leicester 15 days ago. Off 993 days before this term, with new yard; his third of five last time was in a claimer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (15/2 -88%) Douglas Dc |
15/2(-88%) | (5) Douglas Dc 15/2, A fairly useful hurdler in Ireland for Gordon Elliott who shaped well on his yard debut when fourth in a handicap at Ascot (15.7f) in December. Beat only one home at Kempton next time but shaped as if straight back in form when no match for a subsequent winner over C&D last month. 1-24; this season's efforts for new yard were his best for a while. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (17/2 -89%) Sizing Pottsie |
17/2(-89%) | (3) Sizing Pottsie 17/2, Smart chaser for Jessica Harrington in 2021/22 and, on his first run following another breathing op, he hit the crossbar in a 2m Uttoxeter handicap (heavy) in November. That form hasn't worked out, though, and he's run poorly on both subsequent starts. Enough to prove. Close second on heavy ground in November; one place behind Made For You on latest start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (12/1 -260%) Made For You |
12/1(-260%) | (2) Made For You 12/1, Fairly useful handicap hurdler who's back down to his last winning mark and ran respectably when third in 6-runner handicap at Leicester (15.5f, heavy) on his most recent outing. Should give another good account. No win since December 2022; respectable third both starts this term, latest on heavy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (15/2 -88%) Word Has It |
15/2(-88%) | (1) Word Has It 15/2, Came out on top after 7 months off to land weak Fontwell handicap in November and essentially had no excuses from a 1 lb higher mark when fourth a Warwick subsequently. 3-13 over hurdles and largely reliable, with no ground worries. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (11/8 +72%) Celtic Ned |
11/8(+72%) | (7) Celtic Ned 11/8, Improved again but was somewhat flattered by his proximity to the winner when runner-up in a 2m Lingfield novice in late November. Ran to a similar level on handicap debut there just under 2 weeks later and found a late error costing him valuable momentum here on most recent outing. Can go well. Looked stretched by 2m4f here; lot more lightly raced and less exposed than today's rivals. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Kamaxos showed a fair level of ability when last seen in 2022 and, off what looks to be a workable mark, Roger Teal's charge warrants respect on his return. That said, preference is for WORD HAS IT, who arrives on the back of a creditable fourth over 2m at Warwick and eased 2lb, he gets the tentative nod. Made For You represents a trainer firmly on the hot list and he too warrants serious consideration.
A late error cost CELTIC NED valuable momentum into a quickening pace here on his most recent outing, so he's well worth another chance in what looks an ordinary race for the grade given his previous promise. Kamaxos has been absence since April 2022, but has form in stronger company, including at this track, and could have a say from his reduced mark if retaining most of his ability. Made For You is next best.
The drop back in trip could spark improvement from CELTIC NED, who made a move from off the pace before two out in a 2m4f race here.

10/3(+26%) | (2) Emily's Choice 10/3, Kalanisi mare. Half-sister to fair hurdler Clody Flyer. Dam (c86), maiden chaser, half-sister to useful hurdler/chaser (stays 25f) Wishing And Hoping. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (5/6 -34%) Spit Spot |
5/6(-34%) | (5) Spit Spot 5/6, Fair staying performer on the level for James Fanshawe. Acquired by new connections for 9,000 gns in October and stepped up on her first effort over hurdles when runner-up at Wetherby (16f, heavy) 33 days ago. Tongue tie on and every chance she can go one better. Fair Flat-racer; battled on gamely for second in soft-ground hurdle last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (11/1 +31%) Touch Of A Dragon |
11/1(+31%) | (6) Touch Of A Dragon 11/1, Showed modest form when third on her first 2 starts in bumpers without looking blessed with a lot of speed and it was a similar story on her hurdling debut (hooded) when down the field at Sedgefield (16.8f, good to soft) 4 months ago. Considerable step forward required. Placed in two bumpers last season; not disgraced on hurdle debut; ground a worry here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (10/3 -21%) Vanilla Dancer |
10/3(-21%) | (7) Vanilla Dancer 10/3, Showed ability at long odds at Sedgefield on debut in October and built on that effort to get off the mark there in November. Found out under a penalty at same track on Boxing Day, but no surprise should she have a say now hurdling. Soft-ground Sedgefield bumper winner; ought to make her presence felt on hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (125/1 +38%) Western Glen |
125/1(+38%) | (8) Western Glen 125/1, Well held in 2 bumpers and tailed-off last on both hurdles starts. Impossible to fancy. A well-beaten outsider in both bumpers and on both hurdling starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (33/1 +34%) Princess Of Mercia |
33/1(+34%) | (4) Princess Of Mercia 33/1, Hinted at ability despite beaten a long way when third of 5 in a mares' novice hurdle at Hexham (16.2f) on debut but well down the field over C&D (16.9f) 40 days ago. Lots more is required. Soundly beaten on both hurdling starts; stable's other one has much more obvious chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (16/1 +36%) Audreys Pride |
16/1(+36%) | (1) Audreys Pride 16/1, Kayf Tara mare. Closely related to 2 winners, including fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser Victor Hewgo. Dam dual bumper winner. From a good jumping family but best watched on belated debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (40/1 -21%) Lillistar |
40/1(-21%) | (9) Lillistar 40/1, Fair maiden on Flat (stays 1¼m) for Harry & Roger Charlton but sold pretty cheaply and made a discouraging debut in this sphere returning from 4 months off when tailed off at Wetherby (16f, heavy) 3 weeks ago. Placed on the Flat last year but floundered on soft ground over hurdles last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (200/1 -100%) Naughty Nancie |
200/1(-100%) | (3) Naughty Nancie 200/1, Bahri filly. Dam winning pointer. Sent off at 50/1 and went with no promise on bumper debut at Sedgefield (16.8f) in March 2019. Can only be watched making her hurdling debut after almost 5 years off the track. Beaten about 58l when 50-1 for Sedgefield bumper in March 2019 and not seen again since. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
SPIT SPOT has shown promise since switching codes and on the back of a respectable second-placed finish at Wetherby last month, the Lucinda Russell-trained mare is presented with a decent opportunity to go one better, with a first-time tongue-tie a potential prompt for improvement. Sedgefield bumper scorer Vanilla Dancer in an appealing option on her hurdles debut, while point-to-point winner Emily's Choice can also figure if the trip doesn't catch her out.
This can go to SPIT SPOT, who showed more like her Flat form with her hurdling debut under her belt when runner-up at Wetherby last month and with a first-time tongue tie applied, Lucinda Russell's mare may well prove difficult to stop. Bumper winner Vanilla Dancer heads up the dangers, with Emily's Choice (who took 7 attempts to get off the mark in Irish points) also considered.
Fair Flat stayer SPIT SPOT saw her race out very well when second in a soft-ground hurdle at Wetherby last month.

(12) (100/1 -52%)100/1(-52%) | (12) Heidi's Frontiere 100/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Seventh of 8 in bumper at Cork (16f, heavy, 12/1) 40 days ago. Makes hurdles debut. Others preferred here but should be worth watching for future reference. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (10) (8/13 +55%) Undeniable Alibi |
8/13(+55%) | (10) Undeniable Alibi 8/13, Promising type. Third of 11 in maiden at Fairyhouse (16f, heavy, 16/5) on hurdles bow 19 days ago. Likely to improve and leading claims. Highly regarded and could be capable of a lot better especially with improved jumping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (11) (7/2 +83%) Whatsyourproblem |
7/2(+83%) | (11) Whatsyourproblem 7/2, Well Chosen gelding. Brother to 2¼m bumper winner Chosen Witness. Dam (b87) bumper winner. One to note in the betting on debut. Best watched but could well be capable of a good run on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (6/1 +70%) Stickman |
6/1(+70%) | (9) Stickman 6/1, Maiden pointer. Showed ability in a maiden hurdle and bumper in the autumn but probably won't be of real interest until handicapping. Improved effort in a Thurles bumper in November when last seen; cheekpieces tried here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (10/1 +38%) Interieur Cuir |
10/1(+38%) | (3) Interieur Cuir 10/1, Twice-raced maiden. 22/1, fifth of 15 in maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse (16f, heavy) 22 days ago. In good hands but probably more one for handicaps after this. Soundly beaten in two maiden hurdles; needs this for a handicap mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (13) (125/1 -25%) Tenacious Tess |
125/1(-25%) | (13) Tenacious Tess 125/1, Once-raced maiden. Tenth of 16 in juvenile hurdle at Killarney (17f, good to soft, 200/1) on NH debut. Off 9 months. Didn't jump well when 200-1 for her debut at Killarney in May; off 277 days. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (125/1 -25%) Spavango |
125/1(-25%) | (8) Spavango 125/1, Twice-raced maiden. 250/1, seventh of 14 in novice hurdle at Limerick (16f, heavy) 16 days ago. Soundly beaten in two maiden hurdles and unlikely to be a factor here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (18/1 +64%) King Of Cong |
18/1(+64%) | (5) King Of Cong 18/1, Twice-raced maiden. Ninth of 14 in novice hurdle at Limerick (16f, heavy, 66/1) 16 days ago. Looks the stable second string here and qualifies for a mark after this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (50/1 +50%) John Coffey |
50/1(+50%) | (4) John Coffey 50/1, Watar gelding. Dam runner-up in point. A watching brief is advised on debut. Stoutly bred newcomer likely to improve for whatever he does here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (18/1 +28%) Beechfield |
18/1(+28%) | (1) Beechfield 18/1, Won sole start in points (Apr 2023). The betting should help guide to expectations now hurdling. Winner of his sole point at Dromahane in April; likely to need further and best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (100/1 -203%) Imperial Chief |
100/1(-203%) | (2) Imperial Chief 100/1, Arcadio gelding. Half-brother to a point winner. Dam, point winner, half-sister to Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Imperial Commander. Third in sole point in December 2022. Off 14 months ahead of this switch to hurdles. Not seen since third in a point-to-point 14 months ago; best watched. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
MAROTO ran a nice race on his belated debut at Fairyhouse just over three weeks ago and is entitled to improve for the experience. The Sholokhov gelding looked set to finish fifth before a mistake at the last and a stumble soon after saw him eased up on the run-in. That was in a decent enough heat won by stablemate O'Moore Park. Undeniable Alibi looks the obvious danger having been third in a stronger maiden hurdle, won by Western Diego, at Fairyhouse 19 days ago. Milo Lises, stablemate of the selection, was disappointing at Limerick last time but is capable of better and can't be discounted.
UNDENIABLE ALIBI is taken to build on his Fairyhouse third last month and strike at the second time of asking over hurdles. The main threat will likely come from Willie Mullins pair Maroto and Milo Lises unless the betting vibes are strong surrounding John Queally newcomer Whatsyourproblem.
The one to beat should be MAROTO, who was too keen and did not jump well on debut. He should improve hugely for that experience

1st (6) (4/6 +78%) Etalon |
4/6(+78%) | (6) Etalon 4/6, Hurdles winner who looked potentially smart as he made a winning return/chase debut at Newbury (16.4f) in December. Made little fuss following up in a match at Warwick last month, jumping boldly and going clear quickly. Big player in hat-trick bid. Acts on heavy; 2-2 chasing; his mark may well be lenient and he has stacks of potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (9/1 -80%) Gunsight Ridge |
9/1(-80%) | (1) Gunsight Ridge 9/1, C&D winner who was successful on return last season and quite possible he'd of given of the winner something to think about back from 14 months off at Wetherby (15f) in January, falling 4 out. Fairly low mileage for a 9-y-o and no surprise to see him thereabouts. He was off 406 days but disputing the lead when he fell four out at Wetherby last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (9/1 -64%) Hardy Du Seuil |
9/1(-64%) | (4) Hardy Du Seuil 9/1, Dual winner over fences during 2021/22 season and enjoyed a good spell campaigned over hurdles last term, successful here 13 months ago and signing off with pair of runners-up efforts in the spring. Possible this first start for 9 months will be needed back over larger obstacles. In good form over hurdles last spring; not seen since but has to be given a close look. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (28/1 -180%) The Last Day |
28/1(-180%) | (7) The Last Day 28/1, Sparingly campaigned veteran who fell on return at Ascot and, despite early mistakes, ran well to finish second at Wetherby (15f) 33 days ago. Mark has eased a little more and he's one to monitor, particularly with spring festivals in mind. Aintree brings out the best in him and he was below form on his only start at Sandown. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (22/1 -214%) Le Ligerien |
22/1(-214%) | (3) Le Ligerien 22/1, Built up an impressive strike rate for present yard, adding small-field C&D veterans' chase to his tally at Kempton in November. Placed both subsequent starts, latterly chasing home a progressive youngster back at Kempton, and should give another good account. With this yard over the last year, clocking up a very solid record for them; not far away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (8/1 +20%) Xcitations |
8/1(+20%) | (2) Xcitations 8/1, Returned to something like his best with a run under his belt when scoring over C&D in November (now 2-2 here). Mixed bag in trio of starts subsequently but his mark is beginning to steadily ease at least as a result. 2-2 at Sandown, latest in November; ran respectably in a warm race on latest; considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (11/1 +0%) Red Rookie |
11/1(+0%) | (5) Red Rookie 11/1, Returned to pick of his chase form to land final start of last term at Warwick (16.2f, heavy) in March. However, yet to truly fire this season, finishing last of those to complete in a C&D handicap 12 days ago. 3rd of five in first-time cheekpieces over C&D 12 days ago, easily his best show this term. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (18/1 -200%) Fast Buck |
18/1(-200%) | (8) Fast Buck 18/1, Belatedly doubled his tally over fences when landing a small-field Wincanton handicap (15.7f, heavy) from the front last month. Remains feasibly treated nudged up 2 lb. Surged back near his best to win a four-runner race at Wincanton (2m, heavy); back up 2lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (22/1 -57%) Not Available |
22/1(-57%) | (10) Not Available 22/1, Hit the target 3 times at around 2m last term but his attitude has appeared to hold him back over both sets of obstacles in recent months, again racing indolently when third of 6 in handicap chase at Newbury (16.4f) 23 days ago. Visor replaces blinkers now. Looks tricky ride nowadays; latest start was his best show this season but he needs better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (33/1 -230%) Man Again |
33/1(-230%) | (9) Man Again 33/1, Winning hurdler who displayed fairly useful form over fences in France, landing minor events at Beaupreau and Moulins, and claimer at Auteuil (17.4f) in November 2022. Absent since but underfoot conditions will hold no fears on yard debut and the betting should guide. 3-5 over French fences, last seen with a heavy-ground win in November 2022; one to note. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
ETALON has made a perfect start to life over fences, notching up two ready victories, and he can make a bold bid to bring up the hat-trick off a 4lb higher mark than his latest Warwick win. Hardy Du Seuil has been running over hurdles on his most recent outings, but he has demonstrated an aptitude for jumping fences in the past and is respected on his return to the larger obstacles. Gunsight Ridge came to grief four from home at Wetherby most recently, but Olly Murphy's gelding has the ability to get involved if his jumping holds up and he can fill the frame.
ETALON has been quick to mark himself down as a potentially smart novice with back-to-back victories over fences upon returning to action this winter and Dan Skelton's charge is fancied to defy another small rise in the weights and complete the hat-trick. Gunsight Ridge was firmly in the mix when falling 4 out at Wetherby in January and he's a danger. Xcitations, who is 2-2 over this C&D, and Fast Buck complete the shortlist.

Reel Prospect |
(1) (12/1 -20%)12/1(-20%) | (1) Reel Prospect 12/1, Winner at Newcastle in October. 20/1, creditable fourth of 12 in handicap back at that venue (1m) 11 days ago, keeping on well final 1f. Not discounted eased 1 lb ahead of this. Behind Sycamore last time when was doing all his work late after starting slowly. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (5) (14/1 -75%) Al Suil Eile |
14/1(-75%) | (5) Al Suil Eile 14/1, 5-time course winner. Won 9-runner handicap at this C&D (22/1) 16 days ago, edging ahead final 50 yds. Should give another good account. Goes well here and was given a well-judged ride to lead late on over C&D last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (11/2 +45%) Devasboy |
11/2(+45%) | (4) Devasboy 11/2, Twenty two runs since last win in 2022. Good fifth of 10 in handicap at this course (7.1f, 10/1) 10 days ago. Others more persuasive. Close up behind Sycamore at Newcastle before not running too badly here ten days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (11) (9/1 -200%) Big Narstie |
9/1(-200%) | (11) Big Narstie 9/1, Course winner. Latest win at Wolverhampton in January. 7/4, creditable second of 8 in minor event at this C&D 21 days ago, every chance 1f out and keeping on. Entitled to be thereabouts again. Form figures of 212 since the blinkers were added and has form around here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (13/2 +0%) Sycamore |
13/2(+0%) | (2) Sycamore 13/2, C&D winner. Latest win at Newcastle in January. Creditable second of 12 in handicap at Newcastle (8f, 11/1) 11 days ago. Not taken lightly. Recent Newcastle winner and second to a comfortable winner back there 11 days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (15/8 +62%) Love Your Work |
15/8(+62%) | (3) Love Your Work 15/8, 5-time C&D winner who again found the test wholly inadequate when fifth of 7 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 9 days ago. Made encouraging late headway then and he's one to be very interested in returned to this much more suitable trip. Stays 1m2f so it was a good run to be only 2l away over 5f last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (8/1 -100%) Intoxicata |
8/1(-100%) | (6) Intoxicata 8/1, Three wins from 16 runs last year. Latest win at Newcastle in January. Creditable third of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f, 10/1) 17 days ago. Return to class 6 company rates a plus now. Consistent in Class 6 h'caps and ran well to be only 3l away in a Class 5 at Wolverhampton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (200/1 -150%) Mickey Mongoose |
200/1(-150%) | (9) Mickey Mongoose 200/1, Last of 11 in handicap (150/1) at this course (11.1f) 56 days ago. Back down in trip now but hard to warm to despite easing mark. Has shown no worthwhile form since leaving the Johnstons for 6,000gns. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (5/1 +69%) Locked N' Loaded |
5/1(+69%) | (10) Locked N' Loaded 5/1, Eighteen runs since last win in 2022. Seventh of 10 in handicap (12/1) at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 9 days ago, weakening home turn. However, not one to completely write off and worth noting if the market speaks in his favour. Ex-French; best runs for this yard have been here but not in great form the last twice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (11/1 -22%) Give A Little Back |
11/1(-22%) | (8) Give A Little Back 11/1, One win from 24 Flat runs. 7/1 and tongue strap on for 1st time, creditable third of 7 in handicap at Chelmsford City (8f) 6 days ago, switched last ½f and keeping on. Needs to build on that now. Best run yet for current connections when beaten a length in this new headgear combination. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Not beaten far over C&D last time out, where hanging left may have cost him in the final furlong, the in-form BIG NARSTIE can bounce back to winning ways on this occasion, with Luke Morris taking over in the saddle. A narrow winner at Newcastle over this distance on her penultimate outing, Intoxicata is a key threat, along with Sycamore, who remains on a workable mark.
LOVE YOUR WORK has fallen a long way in the weights and signalled he's ready to strike when finishing off strongly over an inadequate trip at Wolverhampton 9 days ago and this 5-time C&D winner could well be the way to go. Al Suile Eile and Big Narstie head up the dangers along with Sycamore.
Sycamore is solid in his current run of form but INTOXICATA gets the nod after holding her own in a Class 5 last time.

10/1(+29%) | (4) Yes Indeed 10/1, Fairly useful winning chaser in France and some decent placed efforts for this yard, though needs to bounce back from 2 poor runs in December. Several minor honours last year; backward steps on his last two outings are offputting. |

16/1(-14%) | (5) I See You Well 16/1, Plumpton specialist who gained his latest success over this C&D in December 2022. Reproduction of that form would put him firmly in the picture but he's rather up-and-down nowadays and others look safer. C&D winner; his second at Plumpton in November has been followed by three lesser efforts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (18/1 -414%) Placenet |
18/1(-414%) | (1) Placenet 18/1, Useful hurdler/chaser in France who looks to have been handed a lenient opening mark on his UK/stable debut but was pulled up in 3m Cheltenham handicap hurdle in November. Subsequent breathing surgery needs to spark a resurgence. Has had wind surgery since the flop when well backed at Cheltenham on his British debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (3) (7/2 +30%) Hudson De Grugy |
7/2(+30%) | (3) Hudson De Grugy 7/2, Course winner who resumed after 7 months off/wind surgery with a respectable third of 8 in handicap chase here (15.4f, soft, 9/2) 69 days ago. Merits consideration now back up in distance. 4-9 at Sandown; his only race beyond about 2m4f was not conclusive proof of his stamina. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (14/1 -17%) Fern Hill |
14/1(-17%) | (2) Fern Hill 14/1, Deservedly got his head in front over fences at Uttoxeter (22.5f) over a year ago. Finally returned to that level when third at Chepstow on his comeback but pulled up (had wind op and tongue tied) at Lingfield since. Needs to get back on track. Wind op and tongue tied when pulled up last month, perhaps with 3m5f playing a part. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
C&D winner ANIMAL arrives here on the back of a highly-encouraging second in the Surrey National at Lingfield last month and he can race off the same rating here. Suzy Smith's gelding is in great heart and could be the one to beat. Hudson De Grugy returned from a 223-day break, after undergoing wind surgery, to finish a fair third over an extended 1m7f here last time and is an interesting contender taking a big step up in distance. Special Acceptance is worth a second look in first-time blinkers.
A few of these arrive with question marks against them so this looks a good opportunity for ANIMAL to quickly resume winning ways and bag a second C&D success. Course-scorer Hudson de Grugy is feared most if, as expected, building on his reappearance third here over a much shorter trip, while the consistent duo Copperhead and Special Acceptance need factoring in too.
Placenet returns after the flop on his British debut and he's had wind surgery. The solid alternative is the in-form ANIMAL.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
SASSY REDHEAD continued her fine form when striking by a half-length over this trip at Lingfield earlier in the month and she was only put up 2lb for that success. William Stone's filly is progressing well and can make it three out of her last four. May Remain was involved in a tight finish when second at Newcastle and could get into contention off a 2lb higher mark. Come On Girl has Luke Morris booked and might also get involved.
The thriving SASSY REDHEAD might be good for another win. Come On Girl may not have won for a while but she regularly hits the frame and is second choice ahead of Ivan Furtado's May Remain.
Having had something up her sleeve last time, SASSY REDHEAD can win again provided she is as effective here as on Polytrack.

Shortlisted from 7 lb higher mark with form of that contest already working out well. Won readily by 10l when upped to 2m4f at Ayr last month and remains lightly raced. |

9/1(+55%) | (9) Bonne Vitesse 9/1, Fair dual-purpose performer wasn't disgraced when sixth of 10 in handicap hurdle (15/2) at Catterick (25.3f, soft) 35 days ago but likely needs a couple of her rivals to underperform if she's to make any greater appeal. Ought to benefit from today's drop back in trip but others appeal more all the same. |

7th (11) (40/1 -60%) Star Vantage |
40/1(-60%) | (11) Star Vantage 40/1, Would have likely made the frame at worst if not for departing at the final flight at Newcastle in April but little encouragement from either effort since, weakening when taking another fall at Carlisle in October. 0-8 over hurdles but was in front before final-flight fall over C&D last April. |

6/1(+0%) | (4) Forged Well 6/1, Placed on his completed start in Irish points and created a good impression to make a successful Rules debut in a Carlisle novice (19.3f) in December. Seemed unsuited by the drop in trip when third in 17f event here last month and his opening mark looks workable going back up in trip. Unexposed 5yo who won on rules debut in December; makes handicap debut today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (33/1 +0%) Moonlight Spirit |
33/1(+0%) | (1) Moonlight Spirit 33/1, Smart stayer on Flat in 2019 for Charlie Appleby and made a winning hurdles debut at Carlisle in December 2021. Little promise since and remains opposable despite recent wind-op. Out of form when last seen last summer; had wind op during his break; hard to weigh up. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
NORTH PARADE overcame a less-than-fluent round of jumping when staying on to score over C&D for a second time in December. A further 6lb rise in the ratings may not be enough to prevent a hat-trick, with the nine-year-old marginally preferred to the unexposed Yealand. Jennie Candlish's gelding appeared to idle in front on his breakthrough victory here last month and he isn't taken lightly, while fellow last-time-out winner Follow Charlie likely has more to come over this distance too.
YEALAND was value for extra when scoring over C&D last month and he gets the nod to take his record in handicaps to 2-2, though fellow last-time-out winner Follow Charlie should prove a stern rival having relished the return to a longer trip when successful at Ayr last time. Handicap newcomer Forged Well can complete the placings.
The suggestion is NORTH PARADE, who has won his last two over C&D and might still be on the upgrade.

10/3(-67%) | (4) Joshua Webb 10/3, Fairly useful chaser. Eleven runs since last win in 2020. Creditable third of 7 in handicap chase at Down Royal (24f, heavy, 5/1) 23 days ago. Can make presence felt. Did not get home over 3m at Down Royal last month and dropping back in trip should suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (15/2 +66%) The Gradual Slope |
15/2(+66%) | (8) The Gradual Slope 15/2, Fairly useful hurdler. Fairly useful winner at 18f over hurdles. 10/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, fourth of 9 in novice chase at Fairyhouse (16.2f, heavy) 22 days ago. Back up in trip. Might get a bit closer to Macdermott here but looks to have place prospects at best. |

4th (7) (13/2 +28%) Quest With Speed |
13/2(+28%) | (7) Quest With Speed 13/2, Fairly useful hurdler. Winner in hurdle at Limerick in November. Good third of 14 in handicap hurdle (20/1) at Naas (18.5f, soft) 18 days ago. Makes chase debut. Solid third in a Naas handicap hurdle last month; best watched switched to fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (5/1 +55%) Petit King |
5/1(+55%) | (6) Petit King 5/1, Fairly useful hurdler. Cheekpieces on for 1st time, good third of 8 in handicap hurdle (13/2) at Punchestown (19.9f, soft) 10 days ago, closing all way to line. Switches from hurdles to chase. Cheekpieces are retained and no surprise if he did better this time returning to fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (28/1 +30%) Another Ocana |
28/1(+30%) | (1) Another Ocana 28/1, Fair hurdler. Career best when winning 14-runner handicap hurdle at Limerick (19f, heavy, 9/1) 48 days ago. Makes chase debut. Won at Limerick over Christmas; hurdle rating leaves him with plenty to find here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (125/1 -56%) Fort Randall |
125/1(-56%) | (9) Fort Randall 125/1, 200/1, twelfth of 14 in novice hurdle at Fairyhouse (20f, heavy) 22 days ago. Makes chase debut. Bumper winner but soundly beaten in maiden hurdles and makes no appeal on his chase debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
JOSHUA WEBB has been lightly raced since winning a bumper and maiden hurdle both on heavy ground at Navan in his younger days but has given plenty of encouragement that he can add to that tally over fences this term. The Noel Meade-trained gelding has filled the runner-up spot twice over similar trips including behind subsequent Paddy Power Chase winner Meetingofthewaters at Cork with Hartur D'arc ten lengths back in third and MacDermott sixth. Hartur D'arc previously went close at Galway, while MacDermott was again let down by his jumping when second to Farmers Lodge at Fairyhouse last month. Petit King was soundly beaten on both chase outings last autumn but has been in good form since over hurdles.
HARTUR D'ARC and Joshua Webb are closely matched on form but the former has made a positive stable switch and is likely to improve, so he's preferred. Petit King is able to get involved if he can replicate his hurdling form in this sphere.
The one to beat is JOSHUA WEBB (nap) after two solid runner-up efforts at Cork and Down Royal before not getting home over 3m last time

1st (3) (8/11 +73%) Titan Discovery |
8/11(+73%) | (3) Titan Discovery 8/11, Runner-up in 2 bumpers last spring and going the right way over hurdles, making a successful switch to handicaps at Ascot (2m, good to soft) in December and finding only the thrown-in Jingko Blue too strong over C&D subsequently. Every chance of resuming winning ways. Found only a Henderson-trained favourite too hot in ten-runner C&D handicap (good to soft). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (8/1 -33%) Classic Lord |
8/1(-33%) | (1) Classic Lord 8/1, Useful on Flat and came good over hurdles for his new yard when landing a brace of novices at Fontwell (2¼m) and Bangor (2m) before Christmas. A shade underwhelming when fifth on his handicap debut at Aintree but he was racing from 5 lb out of the weights that day. Twice in novices at 2m1f/2m on heavy; faded markedly in 2m4f handicap on soft, however. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (22/1 -389%) Valens Bruyee |
22/1(-389%) | (6) Valens Bruyee 22/1, Left previous efforts in this sphere well behind back down markedly in trip when getting off the mark in a 11-runner novice at Chepstow (2m, heavy) 22 days ago. That form is nothing out of the ordinary, though, and more will be needed to follow up on handicap debut. 50-1 when he won by nearly 10l in 11-runner novice at Chepstow (2m, heavy) three weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (4/1 -78%) Wal Buck's |
4/1(-78%) | (5) Wal Buck's 4/1, Has made an encouraging start to his hurdle career, again shaping well when neck second of 6 in novice hurdle (9/4) at Leicester (15.5f, heavy) 36 days ago. Makes handicap debut up in trip and open to further improvement. Beaten a neck in Leicester novice (1m7f, heavy) last time, making most and keeping on well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (7/1 -40%) Storming Nelson |
7/1(-40%) | (2) Storming Nelson 7/1, Unpromising in points but going the right way under Rules, showing much improved form to get off the mark in 10-runner novice at Exeter (16.7f) 45 days ago. Into handicaps now and may do better still. Exeter novice win (2m, heavy); the sort to gallop on and there's stamina on the dam's side. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (20/1 -100%) Hard Rain |
20/1(-100%) | (4) Hard Rain 20/1, Shed his maiden status in a 17f Limerick handicap hurdle in July. Proved as good as ever when runner-up back there in October but found run of good form coming to a halt at Thurles the following month and has since left Padraig Butler. Off the mark at Limerick in July and three places in the mud over 2m7f, 2m5f and 2m since. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
VALENS BRUYEE was mightily impressive when bolting up by nine-and-a-half lengths over 2m at Chepstow last month at a big price. Rebecca Curtis' gelding could have plenty more to offer now that he has got his head in front and is taken to defy his opening mark of 107. Titan Discovery has finished in the top two on each of his last three starts and is likely to be in contention once more, while Wal Buck's is an interesting contender on his handicap debut.
TITAN DISCOVERY has upped his game appreciably since being switched to handicaps and, having found only a thrown-in rival too good over C&D on his most outing, he's well worth siding with to resume winning ways. Wal Buck's and Storming Nelson are a pair of interesting handicap debutants, particularly the former who again shaped with plenty of promise when narrowly denied at Leicester last month.
C&D runner-up Titan Discovery faces some promising graduates from novice hurdles, with STORMING NELSON preferred to Wal Buck's.

11/8(+54%) | (4) Tortured Soul 11/8, C&D winner on yard debut in December and followed up at Wolverhampton 5 weeks later. 2nd (1) (8/1 +50%) Lawmans Blis |
8/1(+50%) | (1) Lawmans Blis 8/1, AW Flat winner for Alex French last autumn. Modest form over hurdle hurdles for Jennie Candlish this winter. Has changed yards again of this return to AW Flat. Returns to this code after moderate hurdling efforts; needs market check on stable debut.. |

5th (6) (17/2 -113%) Billy Bathgate |
17/2(-113%) | (6) Billy Bathgate 17/2, One win from 22 Flat runs. 7/1, very good second of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton 9 days ago, no match for winner. Back down in trip. Enters calculations. 1-31; respectable 2l second at Wolverhampton (1m6f, Tapeta) latest; each-way player.. |

6th (2) (16/1 -100%) Daytona Beach |
16/1(-100%) | (2) Daytona Beach 16/1, Bumper winner. Barely modest form in 3 outings on AW Flat in recent months but she rates a potential improver in handicaps. Should be suited by the return to further for h'cap debut; no surprise if she shows more.. |

7th (10) (16/1 -100%) Uther Pendragon |
16/1(-100%) | (10) Uther Pendragon 16/1, C&D winner. Eleven runs since last win in 2023. Respectable sixth of 12 in classified event here 10 days ago. Needs a couple of these to falter. C&D winner; below par in his last three starts but it's dangerous to write him off.. |

10th (8) (100/1 -203%) Duke Of Vienna |
100/1(-203%) | (8) Duke Of Vienna 100/1, 40/1, last of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton 9 days ago. Back down in trip. Not easy to make a case for. Unable to make a serious impact in four starts for this trainer; watching brief advised.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
TRUSTY SCOUT hasn't been beaten far into second on each of his last two outings, including behind a warm favourite at Kempton last time, and he is only 1lb higher now. The son of Gleneagles is achieving a decent level of consistency and looks a solid choice. Tortured Soul, who is two from three for the Tony Carroll stable, comes here after finishing a close-up third over 1m5f at Lingfield and should remain competitive off 1lb higher. Billy Bathgate completes the shortlist after his second at Wolverhampton.
TORTURED SOUL has made an excellent start to life with Tony Carroll and can make it 3 wins from 4 starts. Trusty Scout arrives at the top of his game and is second choice ahead of Billy Bathgate. Daytona Beach is a handicap newcomer to monitor in the betting.
Several others hold claims but they may not be able to handle the improving TORTURED SOUL (nap), who can make it a second C&D success.

1st (3) (12/1 -20%) Cinque Verde |
12/1(-20%) | (3) Cinque Verde 12/1, Made the frame twice since joining current yard and caught wide when respectable fifth of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f, 10/1) in October. More needed as she makes polytrack debut. Best efforts have come over 5f at Wolverhampton; others look better treated. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (7/2 -17%) Moulin Booj |
7/2(-17%) | (1) Moulin Booj 7/2, Won twice in handicaps last year, with latest success at Bath in September. Continued in good heart when fourth of 10 in handicap at Newcastle (5f, 9/2) when last seen the following month. Could go well again with hood back on. Won twice last year and should do better as a 4yo; back from a break but he's a contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (6/1 -50%) The Defiant |
6/1(-50%) | (4) The Defiant 6/1, C&D winner. After 4 months off, shaped well when third of 8 in handicap at Lingfield (5f, 16/1) 13 days ago, no extra only close home. Now 5 lb below his last winning mark and could be ready to take advantage. C&D winner off 5lb higher last summer; 3rd on recent return, form that's been well franked. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (10/11 +27%) Night On Earth |
10/11(+27%) | (2) Night On Earth 10/11, Gained first victory for current yard at Lingfield (5f) in January and again ran well when second of 8 in handicap (11/8) at the same C&D a week ago. Not taken lightly. Comes here in good form and could take some pegging back around here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (6/1 +0%) Nazca |
6/1(+0%) | (5) Nazca 6/1, Course winner. Racked up a 4-timer last year and resumed winning ways at Newcastle (6f) in January. However, below form tenth of 12 in handicap (7/2) at the same C&D 27 days ago, so bounce back called for dropped in trip. Flourished since dropped to 6f; held latest; drop to 5f needs to have a positive effect. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
A progressive sort in the second half of last year, MOULIN BOOJ should have a bit more to come as a four-year-old and a mark of 73 could still underestimate his ability. George Scott's charge gets the vote ahead of Nazca, who is better than he showed at Newcastle last time. Night On Earth has been in excellent form of late, finishing in the first two at Lingfield on his last three starts, so he has to be considered as well.
THE DEFIANT shaped encouragingly on his return when third at Lingfield (the winner and runner-up have both scored since) and he can build on that effort to resume winning ways. Night On Earth is going through a good spell at present and is feared most, ahead of Moulin Booj.
Night On Earth has obvious claims but THE DEFIANT ran well behind subsequent winners last time and is a well-treated C&D winner.

2nd (7) (3/1 -33%) Rockley Point |
3/1(-33%) | (7) Rockley Point 3/1, Course winner who raced very keenly when posting a respectable fourth of 9 in minor event at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 6 days ago. Player. Running well in defeat this year and he's more solid than most of these. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (13/8 +28%) I'm Mable |
13/8(+28%) | (5) I'm Mable 13/8, C&D winner. Eleven runs since last win in 2023. Creditable fifth of 10 in minor event at Lingfield (6f, AW, 8/1) 4 days ago. Every chance if back to best. Two C&D wins; running well in defeat this winter and Rossa Ryan a positive booking; solid. |

4th (1) (11/2 +54%) Arzaak |
11/2(+54%) | (1) Arzaak 11/2, Modest gelding. 66/1, eighth of 11 in handicap at Southwell (5f) 21 days ago. Visor on 1st time. Can give a good account if shrugging off latest effort. Ages since last win but he's effective over C&D and holds each-way claims at this level. |

40/1(-60%) | (6) Perfect Symphony 40/1, Course winner. Fifth of 6 in handicap at this C&D (50/1) 6 days ago. Twelve runs since last win in 2023. Seven-time winner but recent efforts haven't suggested he's ready to make it eight. |

6th (4) (13/2 +19%) Hard Nut |
13/2(+19%) | (4) Hard Nut 13/2, Course winner. Seventeen runs since last win in 2019. 11/1 and hooded for 1st time, eighth of 12 in minor event at Newcastle (5f) 13 days ago, finishing well. No forlorn hope. Limited but latest run offered hope that he isn't a lost cause; can't be ruled out in this. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
An eyecatcher when not getting the clearest of runs and staying on well late in the day at Lingfield last weekend, I'M MABLE is turned out again quickly in the hope that she may be able to get her head in front for the first time since June. She can get the better of consistent veteran Rockley Point, as well as Arzaak, who was narrowly denied on his last appearance over this C&D.
Course-scorer ROCKLEY POINT went too freely when fourth at Wolverhampton last time and is favoured by these weights so can resume winning ways at the chief expense of Desert Swirl who arrives on the back of a very good Newcastle third. C&D winner I'm Mable can also have a say in an open handicap.
Hard Nut is in better form than his figures suggest but I'M MABLE (nap) may well be the answer with Rossa Ryan a good booking.

15/2(+46%) | (2) Seraphic 15/2, 40/1, sixth of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton (12.2f) 26 days ago, left poorly placed. Significantly up in trip. No forlorn hope. Winning hurdler in France; has poor claims on British form (Flat/hurdles). |

11/8(+15%) | (5) Sullivan Bay 11/8, Lightly-raced sort who made a winning start on his handicap debut in 8-runner event here (13.3f) 28 days ago with a bit in hand. Up 3 lb but another bold showing is on the cards stepping up in trip. Won handicap debut at Chelmsford; just 3lb higher and there's probably better to come. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
SULLIVAN BAY was a major improver on the step up to an extended 1m5f when making a successful handicap debut here last month, and a further rise in distance could eke out even more improvement as he attempts to follow up off 3lb higher. Not beaten far at Kempton last time out and runner-up over C&D on a couple of occasions, Socially Shady is a key player, along with Tables Turned.
SULLIVAN BAY scored with a bit left in the locker here last time so is fancied to make light of a 3 lb rise in the weights on his first go over 2m. Tables Turned is also worth considering on his first go over this marathon trip, with Seraphic also in the mix having not enjoyed the rub of the green when sixth at Wolverhampton last time out.
There was probably no fluke about SULLIVAN BAY's successful handicap debut and he can follow up.

SHALLOW made a debut full of promise at Kempton when only beaten by Fair Angellica, who has struck twice subsequently, and she would have learned a great deal from the experience. Richard Spencer's filly should have any amount of improvement forthcoming and looks the one to beat. Raffles Angel was no match for the front pair over 5f here last month, but could easily take a step forward. Of the remainder, Wild Saffron appeals most after her course second over 7f.
SHALLOW is taken to build on her promising debut second at Kempton in the autumn and prove too strong for recent 7f course runner-up Wild Saffron, who should be fine back at 6f, and Rae Guest's Raffles Angel.
Raffles Angel should leave her debut behind her but SHALLOW can confirm the promise of last season's Kempton debut.

11/1(+8%) | (3) Conquistador 11/1, 22/1 and eyeshields on for 1st time, ninth of 12 in handicap at this C&D 25 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Has a bit to prove. Faces a marked drop in grade today and new headgear is tried; considered. |

5th (6) (11/2 -38%) Maharajas Express |
11/2(-38%) | (6) Maharajas Express 11/2, Latest win at Wolverhampton in December. 5/4, creditable second of 7 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 9 days ago, slowly away. Should be on the premises again. 5f win at Wolverhampton in December; near miss back there last week; contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (20/1 -67%) Golden Passport |
20/1(-67%) | (4) Golden Passport 20/1, Seventh of 8 in handicap (12/1) at Southwell (6.1f) 23 days ago. Blinkers on 1st time. Others make more appeal. Has not built on promising stable debut in December; blinkers could help; not dismissed. |

7th (7) (50/1 -213%) Libra Tiger |
50/1(-213%) | (7) Libra Tiger 50/1, Good second of 8 in handicap at Kempton (6f, 17/2) 43 days ago. On a good mark if he can build on that. Good 2nd at Kempton six weeks ago; this is a stronger race and others are more appealing. |

8th (9) (28/1 -40%) Pablo Del Pueblo |
28/1(-40%) | (9) Pablo Del Pueblo 28/1, Fourteen runs since last win in 2023. 11/2, fifth of 8 in handicap at Lingfield (5f, AW) 13 days ago. Risky proposition at present. On a good mark but he's quirky and hasn't been at his best this winter. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (13/2 +7%) Bang On The Bell |
13/2(+7%) | (2) Bang On The Bell 13/2, Four wins from 16 runs last year. Didn't need to improve to win 8-runner handicap (4/1) at Lingfield (5f, AW) 46 days ago by neck from Pablo Del Pueblo. Another bold showing expected. Best at 5f but has C&D form & comes here on the back of a Lingfield win; Rossa Ryan booked. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
BANG ON THE BELL made amends for two consecutive seconds when getting up by a neck over 5f at Lingfield on New Year's Eve, and he is just 3lb higher so could prove a tough nut to crack. Maharajas Express, fifth in that race, was then only denied by a short head at Wolverhampton and competes off the same mark so has to be considered. Libra Tiger hit the crossbar at Kempton and also warrants plenty of respect.
HOW IMPRESSIVE was better than ever when scoring at Lingfield 10 days ago and followed up at Kempton on Wednesday, so he's a likely candidate to defy a penalty if in the same form. Maharajas Express and Masterclass are two of several dangers in a warm race for the grade.
Conquistador and How Impressive have claims but BLACKJACK has been threatening and this could be his day.

1st (2) (7/4 +22%) Sighter |
7/4(+22%) | (2) Sighter 7/4, Promising individual. Third of 7 in maiden (40/1) at Lingfield (7f, AW) 13 days ago, not knocked about. Makes her handicap debut off a lenient mark so she has to be taken seriously. Improved effort when 3rd at Lingfield last time; moves into handicaps with some potential. |

2nd (1) (5/1 +38%) Crocus Time |
5/1(+38%) | (1) Crocus Time 5/1, Seventh of 8 in handicap (40/1) at this course (5f) 25 days ago. Significantly back up in trip. Has work to do. Yet to sparkle in handicaps but she's down in class and returning to 7f will suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (15/2 -7%) Rhasidat |
15/2(-7%) | (5) Rhasidat 15/2, Latest win at Kempton in January. 13/2, tenth of 11 in handicap at Southwell (7.1f) 16 days ago. Needs a couple of these to falter. Two 7f wins on AW but she flopped last time and needs a new high to come out on top. |

4th (6) (4/1 -14%) Ocean Bliss |
4/1(-14%) | (6) Ocean Bliss 4/1, Ex-Irish filly who shaped as if still in need of the experience when seventh of 10 in maiden (11/1) at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 12 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Should improve. Well in the mix. Third over C&D on stable debut last month; less good over 6f latest; handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (8/1 -33%) Moreginplease |
8/1(-33%) | (4) Moreginplease 8/1, Blinkered for 1st time, creditable fourth of 8 in handicap (12/1) at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 12 days ago. Not discounted with headgear again sported. 0-13; often placed but she's not progressing and looks vulnerable to an improver. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (11/2 -38%) Keen Interest |
11/2(-38%) | (3) Keen Interest 11/2, 6/1, below form sixth of 11 in handicap at Southwell (7.1f) 16 days ago on his final run for William Haggas. Makes polytrack debut with hood/tongue strap on and more required. No progress for W Haggas; sold 6,500gns this month; new accessories tried on stable debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Richard Hannon launches a twin-pronged attack and while Crocus Time has dropped to a handy enough mark to warrant consideration, her stable companion SIGHTER possesses more scope for progression and could be the yard's principal player. The daughter of Expert Eye debuts in a handicap from a highly workable mark and has a live chance at the weights, with Alec Voikhansky's 5lb claim a notable factor. Rhasidat is also feared if judged on her Kempton triumph rather than her subsequent Southwell no-show.
A few with chances but SIGHTER looks to start life in handicaps off a handy mark so gets the vote. Ocean Bliss also warrants plenty of respect on his debut in this sphere with Moreginplease appealing as the pick of the rest for minor honours.
A drop into Class 6 and step back up in trip could see CROCUS TIME break her duck. Stablemate Sighter could be the biggest danger.

12/1(+25%) | (6) Awtaad Prince 12/1, Twelve runs since last win in 2022. 17/2, eighth of 11 in handicap at Kempton (8f) 22 days ago. Back up in trip. Hood on 1st time. Others make more appeal. Mark is tumbling but he needs to turn things around in new headgear. |

2nd (3) (25/1 +24%) Platinum Jubilee |
25/1(+24%) | (3) Platinum Jubilee 25/1, 25/1, last of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 17 days ago. Hard to make a case for. Out the back in her last three handicaps and has plenty to prove at this new trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (9/2 +10%) Graffiti |
9/2(+10%) | (1) Graffiti 9/2, Two wins from 5 runs last year. Latest win at Wolverhampton in November. 5/1, creditable second of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 26 days ago. Can make presence felt. Clearcut win at Wolverhampton in November and he went close there last month; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (7/1 +13%) Urban Road |
7/1(+13%) | (2) Urban Road 7/1, Four wins from 15 runs last year. Latest win at Newcastle in January. 11/2, ninth of 12 in handicap at Newcastle (8f) 11 days ago, not knocked about. Had an excuse last time, so can get back on track. Won at Newcastle (1m2f) last month and has claims if he can recapture that form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (11/2 +21%) Jenson Benson |
11/2(+21%) | (5) Jenson Benson 11/2, 4-time course winner. Fourth of 6 in handicap at this course (7f, 15/2) 14 days ago, left poorly placed. Very much one to note back up in distance. C&D winner; on a dangerous mark and looks interesting on this big step back up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (2/1 +11%) At Liberty |
2/1(+11%) | (4) At Liberty 2/1, 12/1, good second of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (12.2f) 6 days ago. Handicapped to win and a bold showing is expected. Had a near miss at Wolverhampton (1m4f) last week and he's on same mark here; big player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (12/1 +52%) Hotspur Harry |
12/1(+52%) | (8) Hotspur Harry 12/1, Unreliable individual. Sixteen runs since last win in 2022. Seventh of 11 in handicap (22/1) at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 39 days ago, merely passing beaten rivals. Cheekpieces back on. Others make more appeal. Well handicapped on best form last year but he's a slow starter who has not won since 2022. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (6/1 -50%) Curtiz |
6/1(-50%) | (9) Curtiz 6/1, 5/1, won 10-runner handicap at this C&D 28 days ago, well positioned. Should give another good account. Ended long losing over C&D last month and he remains well treated on old form; shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (33/1 -106%) Zooks |
33/1(-106%) | (7) Zooks 33/1, 11/1, fifth of 7 in handicap at Kempton (11f) 12 days ago. May yet have a bigger effort in her. Nine-race maiden who has been well held back on the Flat the last twice; others preferred. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
With all three of his previous career wins registered at this trip, AT LIBERTY is presented with a good opportunity to add an all-weather success to his profile. A respectable third over this course and distance on his penultimate start, prior to a Wolverhampton near-miss, the five-year-old seems unfazed by Polytrack and another bold showing is predicted given he is officially 1lb well-in. Jenson Benson and Graffiti are the pick of the rest.
AT LIBERTY is well treated and produced his best effort for this stable when runner-up at Wolverhampton 6 days ago, so he's worth chancing to go one better. Jenson Benson looks a danger back up to a suitable distance and Graffiti warrants plenty of respect.
Top of the list is AT LIBERTY, who was only just caught at Wolverhampton last week and is on the same mark on this drop back to 1m2f.
Ths is the racecard key.
