|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
19th (11) ![]() Sparrow Wings |
150/1(-50%) | (11) Sparrow Wings 150/1, Wings of Eagles gelding. Dam fairly useful bumper/17f-2¾m hurdle winner. Dam bumper/hurdles winner for Warren Greatrex; plenty of stamina in the pedigree. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
20th (14) ![]() Way Down We Go |
250/1(-25%) | (14) Way Down We Go 250/1, Where Or When gelding. Dam lightly raced over hurdles. Home-bred gelding from a small County Tipperary yard, dam showed little, belated debut. |
Ballinrobe bumper winner KALIX DELABARRIERE was too keen and made a bad mistake when starting off over hurdles in a 2m4f Leopardstown maiden. The Galiway gelding couldn't find any extra in the closing stages when runner-up to a subsequent winner on testing ground here last month and now takes a further drop in trip with a hood and tongue-tie applied for the first time. Walk On The Beach won a bumper on yielding ground in August after which connections reported that he had been jumping well at home. He is an interesting hurdling debutant but may not want the ground as testing as this. Hello Jack has been well held in both hurdle outings but has place claims again.
Willie Mullins' KALIX DELABARRIERE looked a hurdles winner in waiting when an excellent runner-up here last time so gets the vote ahead of his stablemate Road To Home who remains with potential despite running out late here last time out. Joseph O'Brien introduces an interesting sort in Walk On The Beach and this fairly useful bumper scorer needs considering for minor honours along with the unexposed Gordon Elliott-trained duo Hello Jack and Son of Anarchy.
Down in trip and with a double helping of headgear, KALIX DELABARRIERE should deliver now on his third start over hurdles.

1st (1) ![]() Glynn Brae |
4/5(+12%) | (1) Glynn Brae 4/5, £130,000 purchase on the back of a bumper success at Leopardstown in the spring and made it 2-4 over hurdles when easily landing the odds in 5-runner novice over C&D last month. Player despite conceding weight all round. Carries a double penalty but this recent C&D winner is looking above average. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) ![]() Le Galli Bier |
11/2(-100%) | (4) Le Galli Bier 11/2, Fair maiden hurdler/chaser in France this winter, posting a good second in 2m2f claiming chase at Fontainebleau before Christmas. Changed hands for €30,000 after and holds very good form claims for his new handler. Hard to assess his French form but showed ability and he's receiving plenty of weight. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) ![]() Lord Maher |
66/1(-65%) | (3) Lord Maher 66/1, Made a winning hurdling debut at Roscommon in June but he beat only one for his new yard in 2m novice at Plumpton in October. Has something to prove after a break here. Has the least compelling claims despite winning a maiden hurdle in Ireland. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) ![]() Champagne Chic |
15/8(+46%) | (2) Champagne Chic 15/8, Shirocco gedling who built on debut promsie to readily land 7-runner novice hurdle at Wincanton (15.2f, heavy) 24 days ago. Can improve further so must enter calculations. For one having only his second start he did well to beat respected opposition at Wincanton. |
Even though he tended to jump to the right, GLYNN BRAE had plenty in hand when winning a similar race over this C&D last month and, having previously won over timber at Stratford last October, the progressive five-year-old appears well equipped to cope with a double penalty. Fellow hurdle winners Champagne Chic and Lord Maher are the most obvious dangers, with the former feared most after a heavy-ground success at Wincanton.
GLYNN BRAE posted a fairly useful effort when easily going in over C&D last time so is fancied to successfully concede weight all round here and garner a third hurdles victory from five runs. Gary and Josh Moore's French recruit Le Galli Bier has the form to play a big part though and rates a big threat while the progressive Champagne Chic also warrants plenty of respect on the back of his stylish Wincanton success.
An interesting race despite the smal field. GLYNN BRAE is looking above average and taken to defy the double penalty.

1st (1) ![]() Nollyador |
7/4(+30%) | (1) Nollyador 7/4, Reached a decent level in bumpers but has yet to better modest form over hurdles, albeit his third in a Huntingdon handicap in December goes down as a decent effort considering he'd been off for nearly 2 years ago. He's been given time to get over that and merits consideration. Placed on handicap debut in December, after a long layoff; should have more to offer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) ![]() Seahouses |
3/1(+57%) | (5) Seahouses 3/1, Caused a surprise when scoring under an enterprising ride at Market Rasen 19 days ago (20.6f, good to soft) making-all having poached a healthy lead at the start. Respected as the only runner to have won a race over hurdles, though he's unlikely to be gifted such an easy lead again. Made all for surprise win at Market Rasen this month; rain will reduce his appeal here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) ![]() Lelant |
5/1(+17%) | (4) Lelant 5/1, Struggled over fences this season (beaten when departing 3 out latest) but returns to smaller obstacles from a 16 lb lower mark than when last seen in this sphere (March 2024). Doesn't look a winner in waiting on recent form, but it might be significant if any market support comes his way. Largely disappointing over fences since last April but reverts to hurdling on a good mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) ![]() Home And Dry |
22/1(-214%) | (2) Home And Dry 22/1, Fair 2m Flat winner who showed ability in 2m maiden/novice hurdles at this venue last spring. Misfired on return from a break on the level at Kempton in October but remains of some interest back hurdling, especially now tackling a longer trip. Displayed some hurdling promise here last spring but absent since poor Flat run in October. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) ![]() Sullivan Bay |
4/1(-129%) | (6) Sullivan Bay 4/1, Showed next to nothing for Henrietta Knight but back to winning ways on first start for this yard on the Flat at Chelmsford (2m) in October. Placed on all 4 outings since, including a narrow second in a 20.5f handicap hurdle at Plumpton in December. Remains very interesting from a 3 lb higher mark. Went close at Plumpton in December and has also been in good form on AW for new stable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) ![]() Clover Pass |
10/1(+75%) | (7) Clover Pass 10/1, Half-sister to fairly useful hurdler but she's shown little in the way of promise herself so far, including on handicap hurdle debut in June last year. Needs to take a signficant step forward on reappearance racing from 3 lb out of the handicap. Tailed off when 40-1 for handicap debut last spring (2m7f); not seen again since. |
SEAHOUSES sprung a 33/1 surprise when making all of the running to score by over two lengths in this class at Market Rasen earlier in the month and he is only 4lb higher today. The five-year-old might only need a repeat of that effort in order to record the double. Sullivan Bay occupied the runner-up berth when last seen in this sphere at Plumpton in December and could get involved off a 3lb higher rating. Of the remainder, Lelant makes most appeal.
SULLIVAN BAY has been in great heart since joining current connections, underlined by a narrow defeat when last seen over hurdles, having looked the winner for a long way. He's still feasibly treated and could take advantage of his lowly handicap mark at the expense of Seahouses who is the only one of these to have won a hurdles race, while it will be interesting to see if any support comes for Lelant, whose mark has plummeted. Nollyador is respected now, having missed Exeter on Friday.
The suggestion is NOLLYADOR, who is very lightly raced for his age and returned from a long absence with a pleasing run in December.

1st (1) ![]() Bacchanalian |
6/4(+0%) | (1) Bacchanalian 6/4, Two wins from 5 runs this season. Useful effort to win 7-runner C&D juvenile 15 days ago and should go well again. Experienced sort, has a small penalty, ran in a Grade 1 before C&D win on latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) ![]() Kool One |
11/2(+21%) | (3) Kool One 11/2, Fair Flat winner. Placed both starts in juvenile hurdles (C&D first occasion). A bit more will be needed stepping up in class. Flat winner has shown a good standard of form in two maiden runs, needs to settle better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) ![]() Shoda |
10/3(-11%) | (5) Shoda 10/3, Fairly useful Flat winner. Shaped well when third of 16 in juvenile at Limerick (2m, soft) on hurdle debut over Christmas. Should improve. Solid third at Limerick on hurdling debut, runner-up Bacchanalian is more experienced now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) ![]() Good To Be Alive |
5/2(+0%) | (2) Good To Be Alive 5/2, 9/1, won 13-runner juvenile hurdle at Fairyhouse (2m, soft) on debut 18 days ago, comfortably. Looks a useful prospect for leading connections. Made a winning debut at Fairyhouse, more on his plate now but may hold his own. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) ![]() Space Warrior |
66/1(-65%) | (4) Space Warrior 66/1, Made a winning start over hurdles at Fairyhouse in November but has found life tougher since. Likely booked for another struggle. Disappointing since maiden win, last of six in Fairyhouse race won by Bacchanalian. |
KOOL ONE has been placed behind Willie Mullins-trained winners in both starts over hurdles, including over C&D, and makes a quick reappearance after finishing second at Gowran Park last weekend behind a rival who was rated much superior to him on the Flat. Conor Maxwell's prominent racer relishes testing ground and his amateur rider is again likely to make plenty of use of him. Shoda had useful Flat form over 1m4f and made a promising jumping debut when a place behind Bacchanalian at Limerick over Christmas. She may be able to improve past her former stablemate, who had the run of the race when winning here last month but is, nonetheless, a progressive and experienced juvenile.
GOOD TO BE ALIVE ran out a comprehensive winner on his Fairyhouse debut and might be able to improve past Declan Queally's Bacchanalain, who has concede weight all round.
A 4lb penalty may not be enough to prevent BACCHANALIAN from upholding Limerick form with Shoda who rates a serious threat.

1st (8) ![]() Wellwillya |
7/1(+22%) | (8) Wellwillya 7/1, Took form up a notch when getting off the mark on chasing bow in 12-runner handicap at Exeter in October. Best effort since when respectable fourth there in December and had a hopeless task from miles out of the weights last time. Not taken lightly. Some encouraging form this season after switch to fences; faced very tough task last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) ![]() Leading Swoop |
4/1(-14%) | (4) Leading Swoop 4/1, Modest maiden hurdler/chaser. Disappointed here last time but bits of his form gives him a chance off current mark in a change of headgear. 9yo who remains a maiden but was a good second over C&D two starts ago; possible player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) ![]() Elpologreg |
9/2(+18%) | (10) Elpologreg 9/2, Got off the mark in 2m handicap chase at Fakenham a year ago but that was an unsatisfactory contest and has failed to back it up subsequently. 5 lb out of the weights. Well beaten more often than not but fair 2nd over C&D last month; could have part to play. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) ![]() Valirann Gold |
5/1(+9%) | (5) Valirann Gold 5/1, Modest chaser who recorded his best effort this season when 1¾ lengths second at Exeter, though was possibly flattered from 8 lb out of the handicap. Failed to confirm that form off the same mark there since and only 1 lb lower here. Headgear off. Inconsistent but won here last February and good second at Exeter two starts ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) ![]() No Drama |
15/2(+46%) | (9) No Drama 15/2, No surprise that he looked in need of the run when safely held on chase/yard debut following more than 3 years at Fontwell in October but failed to progress from that there next time. Got no further than the second at Hereford since. 2 lb out of weights. Encouraging run here when back from huge absence; yet to build on it but not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) ![]() Celtic Ned |
11/2(+8%) | (2) Celtic Ned 11/2, Fair hurdler who has made an underwhelming start to his chasing career. However, has the physique and pedigree for fences so seems sure to do better at some stage. Soundly beaten on both chase starts but latest form has worked out well and this is weak. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) ![]() Doc Mccoy |
16/1(-14%) | (1) Doc Mccoy 16/1, Impressive winner on sole start in points and successful start to hurdle career at Huntingdon on return last season. Struggled under a penalty next 2 starts, however, and has offered little switched to fences this winter. Headgear on. Mark continues to tumble but he's been well beaten on his first three chase starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) ![]() Rock On Rita |
14/1(+0%) | (6) Rock On Rita 14/1, Point winner who won 2 mares' handicap hurdles in 2022 but has yet to make an impact over the larger obstacles, including after a long absence at Ffos Las in November. Hard to warm to. Market check advised on second start back from absence but well beaten so far over fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) ![]() Master Mikey Dee |
20/1(+39%) | (11) Master Mikey Dee 20/1, Generally struggled since making a winning chase bow almost 3 years ago and showed little after 21 months off at Exeter in December. Did offer a little bit more when fourth over C&D next time but needs to step up again. Not disgraced over C&D last time but out of the handicap and his claims aren't compelling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) ![]() Tommy Dillion |
50/1(-100%) | (7) Tommy Dillion 50/1, Winning hurdler but has clearly been difficult to train and well held both starts over fences 14 months apart. Won over hurdles but pulled up on both chase starts, with a long absence in between. |
The chase course can be tricky to negotiate here and with that in mind, LEADING SWOOP's familiarity with the layout can be a big asset if the first-time blinkers sharpen up his attack. Likely to be front rank, the Robert Walford-trained gelding could be well positioned to dominate. Having been cut some slack by the handicapper, Celtic Ned has scope to progress in this discipline and is noted along with Valirann Gold and Elpologreg.
A weak event but at least CELTIC NED has some potential in this sphere. Leading Swoop and Wellwillya are both capable of going close off their current mark so are others to consider.
There have been promising signs from WELLWILLYA in this first chase campaign and he had an impossible mission at Exeter last time.

1st (6) ![]() Zestful Hope |
15/8(+69%) | (6) Zestful Hope 15/8, Fair handicap hurdler/chaser who's posted some good placed efforts this season but needs to shrug off a poor run at Southwell 3 weeks ago. Placed three times this season (once here) but didn't fire last time; now 0-10 over fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) ![]() Intimate |
9/2(-29%) | (1) Intimate 9/2, Made a promising start over fences when runner-up at Sandown on return but has gone backwards next 2 starts. Something to prove now. Two lesser efforts followed his pleasing seasonal/chase debut; not written off yet, though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) ![]() Jaipaletemps |
9/1(-50%) | (3) Jaipaletemps 9/1, Won 3 claiming chases in France but low-key start for this yard at Taunton (over hurdles) 3 weeks ago. Potentially well treated back over fences on French form but difficult to assess on the back of that uninspiring British debut. 3-12 over fences in France but made low-key British debut in a recent novice hurdle. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) ![]() Greenrock Abbey |
7/1(+18%) | (7) Greenrock Abbey 7/1, Dual winner over fences at Hereford during 2022/23 and placed twice last season. Below par this term, however, On good mark and runs this track well but out of form this season; revival needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) ![]() Gris Majeur |
9/4(-29%) | (4) Gris Majeur 9/4, Point/bumper winner who capitalised on falling mark when registering a third career success over hurdles at Hereford in October. Back to form when just denied over fences at Ffos Las 17 days ago and claims with a repeat. Dual course winner over hurdles; returns here after good second over fences at Ffos Las. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) ![]() Golden Whisky |
18/1(-50%) | (5) Golden Whisky 18/1, Veteran who has shown further signs of decline this season and latest run was particularly poor. Others preferred. Not firing on all cylinders since returning from long absence in the autumn (four runs). |
The one to be on is GRIS MAJEUR. The son of Gris De Gris was beaten a neck into second at Ffos Las last time and boasts two previous course victories (over hurdles) to further aid his cause. Intimate isn't ruled out as he's also a previous winner at this track, while Jaipaletemps is another expected to go well in a first-time tongue-tie.
GOOD FRIDAY FAIRY was back to his very best when an easy all-the-way winner at Wincanton last week and can defy an 8 lb rise. Gris Majeur went close at Ffos Las last time so looks the obvious threat.
Preference is for GRIS MAJEUR, who got his act together over fences and ran a big race in defeat at Ffos Las this month.

1st (4) ![]() Jacob's Ladder |
3/1(-9%) | (4) Jacob's Ladder 3/1, Bumper winner who struck at the second time of asking over hurdles in 4-runner Navan maiden (20f, soft) 36 days ago. Looks capable of better again. Won four-runner 2m4f maiden at Navan, stiff task against Fleur In The Park at the weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) ![]() Joystick |
5/2(+38%) | (5) Joystick 5/2, Bumper winner who got off the mark over hurdles at the second attempt in 21-runner maiden hurdle here (2m, heavy) in January. Pulled up in a Grade 1 novice at the Dublin Racing Festival 3 weeks ago but retains potential back in slightly calmer waters. Bumper winner over this, 2m course winner over hurdles, struggled in a Grade 1 on latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) ![]() A Tipp For Gold |
12/1(-20%) | (2) A Tipp For Gold 12/1, Fairly useful hurdler. Winner in hurdle at Listowel in September. 7/2, fourth of 7 in novice hurdle at this course (18.5f, good to soft) 15 days ago. Mixed form since maiden win, meets Fleur In The Park on 13lb worse than handicap terms. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) ![]() Fleur In The Park |
7/5(+14%) | (3) Fleur In The Park 7/5, Useful hurdler. Latest win in hurdle at Wexford in October. 10 lengths fourth of 6 to The Big Westerner in Grade 2 novice at Limerick (23f, soft) over Christmas. Sets the standard. Has picked up valuable experience in Graded races, well suited by the race conditions. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) ![]() Brave Fortune |
11/2(+0%) | (1) Brave Fortune 11/2, Fairly useful hurdler. 2 wins from 5 runs this season. Career best when winning 9-runner novice hurdle at Thurles (23.2f, good, 2/1) 64 days ago, staying on well. Relatively experienced novice, career-best when winning over 2m7f at Thurles last time. |
Heavy ground is a concern for FLEUR IN THE PARK but he looks the one to beat. 2m7f may have stretched his stamina at Limerick last time and the six-year-old should be suited by a return to the distance, over which he was narrowly beaten in a Grade 2 at Navan. He might be flattered by that bare formline having been given a fine tactical ride but, nonetheless, looks to have a few pounds to spare if handling conditions, which he did to reasonable effect in bumpers. Course winner Joystick, who was outclassed in a Grade 1 last time, will relish conditions and may leave that run behind, while Jacob's Ladder may improve further after landing a maiden over this trip.
FLEUR IN THE PARK brings some useful form to the table and can see off last month's Navan maiden winner Jacob's Ladder in this Grade 3 contest.
With an official rating of 137 based on form in Graded races, FLEUR IN THE PARK looks clearly superior to his four rivals

1st (2) ![]() Nemean Lion |
2/1(-14%) | (2) Nemean Lion 2/1, Has taken his form up a level this year and followed a Hereford handicap success with victory in 5-runner conditions event at Windsor (20f) last month by ½ length from Salver. Concedes 3 lb to that rival here but still not taken lightly. Completed a double at Windsor and this highly admirable 8yo will be a tough nut to crack. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) ![]() Steel Ally |
11/2(+39%) | (5) Steel Ally 11/2, Looked a progressive front-runner when bagging 2m3f handicap at Haydock in November but he was pulled up in 2m Ascot handicap following month. Sort to bounce back after a break though. Pulled up last time but made all in competitive Haydock handicap previously; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) ![]() Salver |
13/8(-18%) | (3) Salver 13/8, Won 4 times last season and has continued on the up this winter, running well when falling last in Grade 2 Relkeel at Cheltenham before coming in an excellent ½-length second of 5 to Nemean Lion in conditions event at Windsor (20f). Enjoys a 3 lb weights pull now so big shout. Close second to Nemean Lion at Windsor last time and now 3lb better off with the winner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) ![]() Blueking D'oroux |
5/1(0%) | (1) Blueking D'oroux 5/1, Yet to to score this term but this smart hurdler arrives in good nick, sixth in Grade 1 Long Walk at Ascot before a solid third of five in 2m4f Windsor conditions event last month. Ought to be in the shake-up once more. Behind Nemean Lion and Salver at Windsor last time but he's better than that; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) ![]() Punta Del Este |
40/1(-21%) | (4) Punta Del Este 40/1, Dual winner last season who has posted a trio of useful efforts this term, latest when third of 11 in 3m handicap hurdle at Haydock on his final run for Dan Skelton. This demands more but he's no forlorn hope starting out for a new stable. Talented handicapper but considerable improvement is needed now up in grade on yard debut. |
Still a lively outsider in the ante-post markets for the Stayers' Hurdle at Cheltenham, a race of this nature should be well within the grasp of NEMEAN LION, who is a strong fancy to complete a hat-trick. That is not to underestimate the challenges presented by old rivals Salver and Blueking D'oroux, who are both very capable of capitalising if Kerry Lee's gelding doesn't fire on all cylinders.
The likeable SALVER is taken to gain a deserved first victory of the season and turn the tables on his recent Windsor conqueror Nemean Lion on these more advantageous terms. Kerry Lee's hat-trick seeker still rates a big danger though, while the consistent Blueking d'Oroux also has the form to go close in an intriguing National Spirit.
Salver is 3lb better off, but half-length Windsor winner NEMEAN LION could have more left in the tank and is preferred.

1st (3) ![]() Le Soleil Reve |
13/2(-30%) | (3) Le Soleil Reve 13/2, 11/8, 8¾ lengths third of 5 to the reopposing Star of Guiting on Exeter debut in December. His strength in the betting on that occasion suggests he's thought capable of better and the yard won the race last year. Shaped with promise when third to Star Of Guiting on debut; 7lb better off with him here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) ![]() Laughing John |
2/1(+0%) | (2) Laughing John 2/1, Postponed gelding who shaped well amidst inexperience when 6 lengths third of 7 on his Newbury debut 39 days ago. Can be expected to improve but has 3¾ lengths to make up on Star of Guiting from that race. Behind Star Of Guiting but still displayed considerable promise when third on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) ![]() Star Of Guiting |
7/4(+0%) | (1) Star Of Guiting 7/4, Made a winning hurdling debut in a similar race at Exeter in December and bettered that form when second under a penalty at Newbury last month, with the reopposing Laughing John 3¾ lengths back in third. Open to further progress and leading claims. Won cosily at Exeter in December and ran well in defeat at Newbury last month; big player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) ![]() Mad Maxios |
11/4(+66%) | (4) Mad Maxios 11/4, Maxios gelding. Dam, pulled up sole start in bumpers, sister to smart hurdler/useful chaser (stays 2½m) Le Patriote. Newcomer from a good stable and market support would look significant. Fifth foal from well-connected mare; has good standard to reach on debut; still considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) ![]() Pink Breeze |
66/1(-560%) | (5) Pink Breeze 66/1, Could only manage a remote fifth of 6 on her Ludlow debut in December but the fact she went off at 5/4 suggests she'd been showing up well at home. Did not look straightforward and flopped badly when warm favourite for debut. |
LAUGHING JOHN finished just under four lengths behind Star Of Guiting (second) when third on his hurdling debut at Newbury last month and he could improve past that more exposed rival. Le Soleil Reve failed to justify favouritism on his first start at Exeter in December (a race won by Star Of Guiting) but he might be worth another chance, while any market confidence behind newcomer Mad Maxios would be interesting.
STAR OF GUITING is taken to confirm last month's Newbury superiority over Laughing John, although this is a contest where nothing can be safely ruled out as Mad Maxios is a newcomer from a powerful stable, while the fact Le Soleil Reve and Pink Breeze went off short prices on debut suggests that they are thought capable of better than they showed.
Star Of Guiting has the best form but LAUGHING JOHN and Le Soleil Reve may both have the potential to improve past him.

1st (8) ![]() Duke Of Leggagh |
9/2(+18%) | (8) Duke Of Leggagh 9/2, Lightly-raced winner over hurdles. Fairly useful winner at 10f on flat. Career best when winning 11-runner handicap hurdle (11/1) at this course (15.7f, good to soft) 15 days ago, digging deep. Not taken lightly in his current mood. Won over C&D latest, likes heavy ground, 7lb rise negated by rider's claim, chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) ![]() Gabbys Cross |
16/1(-45%) | (1) Gabbys Cross 16/1, Eleven runs since last win in 2022. Respectable eighth of 25 in handicap hurdle (20/1) at Punchestown (23.5f, good to soft). Off 9 months. Significantly down in trip. No forlorn hope. Well beaten when last seen and just 1lb lower now, lacks a run, may prefer better ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) ![]() American Money |
10/1(+38%) | (4) American Money 10/1, C&D winner. 11/1, below form fifth of 11 in handicap chase at this course (20.1f, heavy) 28 days ago. Switches from chase to hurdles. Back down in trip. Must improve. Last year's winner, 9lb higher now, will be suited by the drop in trip, can't discount. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) ![]() Balko D'ange |
7/2(0%) | (2) Balko D'ange 7/2, Winner in hurdle at Limerick in December. Good second of 7 in handicap hurdle at Punchestown (19.4f, soft, 9/4) 20 days ago, going with enthusiasm. Back down in trip. Progressing recently. Consistent, won h'cap debut on penultimate, trip may have been too far latest, chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) ![]() Semblance Of Order |
25/1(+0%) | (7) Semblance Of Order 25/1, Lightly-raced winner over hurdles. Fairly useful winner at 8f on flat. Eighth of 12 in handicap hurdle at Punchestown (19f, heavy, 33/1) 54 days ago. Possibilities. Two-time Flat winner, has struggled since maiden hurdle win, hard to fancy on recent form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) ![]() Miss Gherkin |
12/1(+0%) | (9) Miss Gherkin 12/1, Creditable 9½ lengths fifth of 11 to Duke of Leggagh in handicap hurdle (11/1) at this course (15.7f, good to soft) 15 days ago. Can make presence felt. Finished 9.75l behind Duke Of Leggagh latest, heavy ground a worry, 14lb above last win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) ![]() Captains Nephew |
7/2(+13%) | (5) Captains Nephew 7/2, Respectable sixth of 14 in handicap chase at Leopardstown (17f, good to soft, 6/1) 22 days ago. Switches from chase to hurdles. Can give a good account. Running respectably in valuable h'cap chases, rated 14lb lower over hurdles, interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) ![]() Ballystone |
40/1(-21%) | (3) Ballystone 40/1, First run since leaving T. Gibney when below form eleventh of 19 in handicap hurdle at Leopardstown (16f, good, 80/1) 58 days ago. Very hard to make a case for. Won a Ballinrobe maiden on good, has struggled both starts on heavy, others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) ![]() Kimy |
6/1(-9%) | (10) Kimy 6/1, Winner in hurdle at Tramore in September. Good second of 19 in handicap hurdle (28/1) at Leopardstown (18f, good to soft) 21 days ago. Firmly in the picture. Up 2lb for excellent effort at the DRF, unproven on heavy, chance if she handles it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) ![]() San Aer |
7/1(+13%) | (11) San Aer 7/1, Creditable third of 9 in handicap hurdle (13/2) at Thurles (15.5f, good) 35 days ago. Needs considering again. Sound efforts the last twice, same mark here and likes testing ground, contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) ![]() The Names Jock |
66/1(-450%) | (6) The Names Jock 66/1, Twenty first of 22 in handicap at Leopardstown (13f, good, 33/1). Switches from Flat to hurdles. Fairly useful hurdler, but needs a couple of these to falter. Dual-purpose, 1-11 over hurdles, most of best form is on good ground, others preferred. |
A decisive winner on handicap debut at Limerick, BALKO D'ANGE made a few mistakes before being outstayed by an in-form rival over 2m3f at Punchestown last time. Philip Fenton's five-year-old, who handles heavy ground, should be suited by dropping back in trip and is open to further improvement. Despite making mistakes at the last two hurdles, Duke Of Leggagh knuckled down well to win over C&D earlier this month. The front pair drew clear of the remainder, including fifth-placed Miss Gherkin, on that occasion and better jumping can see the winner contend again. Kimy was not unfancied when second in a valuable mares' handicap at Leopardstown but her stablemate, San Aer, is more likely to handle underfoot conditions.
Plenty with chances but recent course scorer DUKE OF LEGGAGH rates just the pick of these weights so edges the vote from good Leopardstown runner-up Kimy. Balko d'Ange and Miss Gherkin both need factoring in too with Captains Nephew completing the shortlist.
Preference is for last time out C&D winner DUKE OF LEGGAGH. His 7lb rise is negated by his jockey's claim and he relishes heavy ground

1st (5) ![]() Shengai Enki |
7/1(+56%) | (5) Shengai Enki 7/1, Versatile performer landed a 23f Uttoxeter handicap in May and followed by a 2m Worcester novice a month later. Has found things tougher since, finishing fifth of 9 at Market Rasen (23f) last month. Returned from a break with fair fifth at Market Rasen and he's not discounted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) ![]() Monjules |
12/1(+14%) | (4) Monjules 12/1, Three-time hurdle winner since joining Harry Fry. Back to form after a break when third of 11 at Taunton in November but not in the same form at Wincanton 7 weeks later. Others are more persuasive. Below par last time but fair 3rd previously and his last two wins came here; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) ![]() Batwomen |
4/1(-20%) | (3) Batwomen 4/1, Made a successful switch to handicaps over 19f here in October. Good placed efforts on both starts since and this strong traveller may have even bigger performances in her. Won here on handicap debut and solid efforts both starts since; could play a leading role. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) ![]() Kalif D'airy |
6/4(0%) | (6) Kalif D'airy 6/4, Good runner-up efforts in handicaps on his last 3 outings, including at this venue. Well clear with an improver at Sandown last time and could still be treated even after a further 4 lb rise. Has first-time cheekpieces added to his regular tongue tie. Lightly raced 5yo who has been second on his last three runs; wears first-time cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) ![]() Rockadenn |
14/1(+13%) | (2) Rockadenn 14/1, Useful hurdler/chaser at his best but never in it on last month's return from a long absence for a new yard ay Haydock. Can only watch. Well handicapped on old form and could improve for last month's fair comeback run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) ![]() Kruger Park |
3/1(-20%) | (1) Kruger Park 3/1, Creditable in-frame efforts in handicaps around 3m on his last 2 outings and shouldn't be inconvenienced by the return to slightly shorter. Respected. Ran well in defeat at about 3m the last twice and this trip could be just what he needs. |
KALIF D'AIRY bumped into an in-form rival when finishing runner-up in a deeper race over 2m4f at Sandown earlier this month and, upped 4lb sporting cheekpieces for the first time, he could go one place better. Batwomen shaped with promise when third at Ludlow last time out and a bold bid off 1lb higher looks likely. This drop in trip should help Kruger Park and he completes the shortlist.
Although KALIF D'AIRY has gone up 11 lb in his last 3 starts he was 21 lengths clear of the third when going down only to a progressive one at Sandown 3 weeks ago and could still be on a good mark. Batwomen and Kruger Park look the main dangers.
Today's trip could be ideal for KRUGER PARK (nap), who has been outstayed over about 3m the last twice.

1st (1) ![]() Champagnesuperover |
9/4(-50%) | (1) Champagnesuperover 9/4, Dual chase winner at around 3m in spring 2022. Lightly raced and has failed to trouble the judge since but was starting to get going and travelling well when unseating rider at the twelfth fence at Catterick (25.2f, good) last month. One to consider off the same mark. Heavily backed last time but unseated rider; remains very well handicapped on old form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) ![]() Lagonda |
3/1(-9%) | (5) Lagonda 3/1, Point/hurdles winner who gained reward for her consistency this season when recording her first success over fences at Bangor 16 days ago, jumping well from the front. Should go well again. Second in valuable C&D mares' race in December and made all at Bangor this month; a player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) ![]() Christopher Wood |
5/1(+38%) | (4) Christopher Wood 5/1, Losing run is mounting up and could hardly have shown any less at Lingfield latest. Blinkered for 1st time. Inconsistent and regressive 10yo; well beaten last month; blinkers tried here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) ![]() Almazhar Garde |
4/1(-14%) | (2) Almazhar Garde 4/1, Going through his most consistent spell ever even if his merit is some way removed from his useful peak, runner-up again at Leicester latest. Respected back from a break. Second three times off this mark in the autumn; returns from three-month break today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) ![]() Grillon De Monty |
25/1(+75%) | (9) Grillon De Monty 25/1, Winner of 3 cross-country chases in France and hurdles winner for Dan Skelton but has shown nothing both starts for this yard after 20 months off. Struggled on both hurdling starts for new stable this winter; now back over fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) ![]() Cap Du Nord |
11/1(-38%) | (3) Cap Du Nord 11/1, Successful twice in 2024, bagging handicaps at Plumpton and Perth (latter success gained off a mark 7 lb higher than his current one) but he has struggled in 5 appearances since returning from a break in October. Tends to revive around this time of year, though, so could be worth chancing. Won off 7lb higher last summer but recent efforts have been very disappointing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) ![]() Born At Midnight |
14/1(+58%) | (7) Born At Midnight 14/1, Ended last season in top form but well held both starts this term so plenty to prove currently. Won twice at Plumpton last March but has been out of form there this season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) ![]() Foxboro |
33/1(+18%) | (6) Foxboro 33/1, Scored at Exeter (30.7f) last winter for Robert Walford but laboured efforts for this yard this season and easy enough to look elsewhere. Four-time chase winner for Robert Walford but out of form for new stable this season. |
LAGONDA returned to winning ways over 3m at Bangor a couple of weeks ago and a 5lb rise may not be enough to stop the 10-year-old from following up. That said, Almazhar Garde has been knocking hard on the door of late and is likely to be in the mix once again, while Champagnesuperover has the ability to go well if putting in a clear round of jumping.
CAP DU NORD is difficult to assess at present but he tends to come good at this time of year (6 wins in February/March) and has been given a big chance by the handicapper, so he could be worth risking here with his stable back among the winners. Champagnesuperover let down his supporters at Catterick but he's threatening to come good, while Lagonda arrives on the back of a career-best win at Bangor.
The suggestion is LAGONDA (nap), who ran very well in a competitive C&D mares' race in December and returns here after a recent win.

12th (15) ![]() Jody Ted |
50/1(+24%) | (15) Jody Ted 50/1, Continues out of sorts and is difficult to recommend at present. Lost form since back-to-back wins in 2023, hard to fancy on recent form. |

13th (5) ![]() Waittillitellyou |
14/1(-56%) | (5) Waittillitellyou 14/1, Still lightly-raced for his age and prove better than ever when winning 12-runner handicap hurdle (11/1) at Navan (21.8f, heavy) 14 days ago. Open to more improvement. Wide margin win on seasonal return latest, up 11lb, another career best needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (8) ![]() Falcon Eight |
18/1(+18%) | (8) Falcon Eight 18/1, Creditable seventh of 24 in a handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse on latest run in this sphere, before having a spin on the Flat last month. May need a good gallop to be seen to best effect. Fine effort on the Flat here in October, decent effort latest over hurdles, can't discount. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
15th (13) ![]() Bridie's Beau |
17/2(-21%) | (13) Bridie's Beau 17/2, Thriving at present, shrugged off a 14lb rise to land a 20-runner handicap hurdle (9/1) at Gowran (19.8f, heavy) 8 days ago, better value than the winning margin. Up a further 9 lb but more improvement could be on the cards. Progressive, up 23lb for wins at Punchestown and Gowran, new trip, career best needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
16th (18) ![]() West Is Awake |
33/1(+50%) | (18) West Is Awake 33/1, Continues below form and is hard to fancy on recent evidence. Course winner over shorter, out of form this season, others hold more pressing claims. |

17th (11) ![]() Ms Agartha Yeats |
16/1(+52%) | (11) Ms Agartha Yeats 16/1, 1 win from 2 runs this season. Latest win in hurdle at Wexford in October. 33/1, sixteenth of 20 in handicap hurdle at Leopardstown (19.8f, good) 56 days ago and needs to bounce back from that poor run. Two-time winner at Wexford, struggled returned to h'cap latest, others appeal more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
18th (9) ![]() Millstream Lady |
22/1(-100%) | (9) Millstream Lady 22/1, Course winner. Career best when winning 12-runner handicap hurdle at Limerick (20f, soft, 9/1) 59 days ago, responding well to pressure. Still relatively low-mileage but will need to improve again now into a stronger race. 3-14, won off 7lb lower on latest, handles heavy, chance if she stays the trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
19th (6) ![]() Harsh |
20/1(+39%) | (6) Harsh 20/1, Disappointing last of 12 in handicap hurdle at Exeter (23.1f, soft) 14 days ago and yet to prove he stays this far. Poor effort on latest, stayed on well over 2m4f previously, chance if repeating that. |
With the Gavin Cromwell yard continuing to fire in the winners, WILL THE WISE could prove the horse to beat on his handicap debut. Unbeaten in a point-to-point and bumper, the six-year-old has run with credit on three of his four starts over hurdles. Runner-up on his jumping debut at Punchestown in November, he was considered good enough to contest a Grade 2 hurdle at Navan on his next start. Although finding that a bridge too far at that stage of his career, he has looked much more like the finished article in two subsequent starts. Stablemate Bridie's Beau remains of interest despite a further hike in the weights, while Cato's Revenge is another worthy of consideration for trainer Philip Rothwell.
BRIDIE'S BEAU is thriving at present and in a race without an abundance of pace, he won't be inconvenienced if this becomes a relative test of speed. He can land the hat-trick ahead of main danger and handicap debutant Will The Wise who is interesting stepping up in trip, while Heliko Conti could yet have more to offer as a staying hurdler.
A chance is taken on JERIKO DE BAUNE. He'll like the ground and if he repeats his staying on sixth at Navan he should be thereabouts

1st (7) ![]() Je Suis Sacre |
7/4(+88%) | (7) Je Suis Sacre 7/4, Lightly-raced maiden has been well-held on two starts in handicap company. Step up in trip offers some cause for optimism, but he's hard to recommend on recent evidence. Tailed off in his first two handicaps and dramatic improvement is needed now up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) ![]() Ami Bondhu |
4/1(-20%) | (1) Ami Bondhu 4/1, Bumper winner made a promising handicap debut when third at Lingfield (16f) in December, shaping as though he might have a race in him at this level. Proved a little disappointing when only finishing 4th at Market Rasen (20f) earlier this month but still remains of interest in a moderate contest. Bumper winner who has posted fair performances in both handicaps; might not be far away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) ![]() Atlantic Power |
9/1(+64%) | (9) Atlantic Power 9/1, Placed on last of 3 starts in Irish points but showed little sign of ability in a bumper and 3 hurdles under Rules. Step up in trip on handicap debut offers only faint hope of improvement. Has struggled under rules but the step up in trip could suit on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) ![]() Millies Mite |
33/1(-83%) | (8) Millies Mite 33/1, Seemed suited by the switch to prominent tactics when breaking longstanding maiden tag at this venue over fences (19.5f) in April, however she has failed to fire this season. Wears first-time hood back over the smaller obstacles and return to scene of her sole victory needs to spark a revival. A return to form is needed but she's often run well here and is not written off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) ![]() Military Tycoon |
18/1(+10%) | (5) Military Tycoon 18/1, Fairly useful Flat winner but has underachieved over hurdles so far, again showing little on handicap debut at Doncaster (19.4f, good to soft) 16 days ago. Needs to improve for the step up in trip, but he's one to note in the market for a yard that have a knack of improving low-grade handicappers. Flat winner whose hurdle mark continues to fall, but for good reason. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|B| (10) ![]() Nowyouvebinandunit |
9/1(-13%) | (10) Nowyouvebinandunit 9/1, Maiden placed in a couple of 2m4f handicap hurdles in the summer of 2023 but returned well-below form (after 16 months off) when fifth of 11 in handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter (19.9f, soft) in 75 days ago. Makes debut for very capable yard but one only to be interested in if market vibes are positive. Failed to threaten on comeback but has gone close in the past; watch betting on yard debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (3) ![]() Just Go For It |
12/1(-41%) | (3) Just Go For It 12/1, Veteran performer had yet to really fire this season, although not disgraced when fifth of 16 in handicap hurdle (33/1) at Taunton (19f, good to soft) 36 days ago. He's now back down to his last winning mark and it wouldn't be a surprise to see an improved effort. Runs off last winning mark and ran okay at Taunton last month; each-way contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (2) ![]() Bobalot |
7/2(-17%) | (2) Bobalot 7/2, C&D winner bounced back to form with headgear discarded on his first outing since leaving Ben Clarke (after 8 months off) when second at Chepstow (19.4f, heavy) 2 weeks ago, shaping as though this longer trip will suit. If he can build on that effort, he is one of the more likely types in this field C&D winner who returned to form with second at Chepstow and is firmly in calculations. |
LIGHTONTHEWING pulled clear with the eventual runner-up when gamely scoring over an extended 2m7f at Chepstow on his return to hurdles duty earlier this month, and the suspicion is that a 5lb rise may not be enough to anchor him. Bobalot shaped with promise when second over an extended 2m3f at Chepstow recently and he looks the main danger, ahead of Ami Bondhu.
AMI BONDHU has shown enough in a brace of handicap starts to suggest he is capable of winning a modest race such as this. Lightonthewing is the only runner to have won a race this season, and he has claims of making it back-to-back victories, while Bobalot has a chance if in the same form as when finishing second on his reappearance/stable debut 2 weeks ago.
Course chase winner LIGHTONTHEWING exploited a lower hurdle mark at Chepstow a fortnight ago and remains well treated in this sphere.

1st (2) ![]() Crying Lightning |
11/8(+86%) | (2) Crying Lightning 11/8, Fair form shown in a trio of bumpers, sixth in listed event at Market Rasen 37 days ago. Very much one to consider on her hurdles debut. Not beaten far in a Listed bumper last month and should have a future over jumps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) ![]() Youhadmeathello |
9/4(-266%) | (8) Youhadmeathello 9/4, €55,000 3-y-o, £90,000 4-y-o, Pour Moi mare. Half-sister to 5 winners, including useful hurdler/fairly useful chaser Blacklough and fairly useful hurdler Banjo Girl. Winning Irish pointer. Interesting hurdling debutante. Not seen since Irish point win in November 2023 but makes rules debut in a modest race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) ![]() Jackie Diamond |
125/1(-25%) | (3) Jackie Diamond 125/1, Modest maiden on Flat and off for 9 months since only ninth in 1m handicap at Beverley. Needs to hit the ground running now going hurdling. Lowly rated Flat maiden who never built upon her promising 2yo debut; hurdle debut today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) ![]() Mini Fortune |
33/1(+34%) | (4) Mini Fortune 33/1, 16/1, ninth of 12 in novice hurdle at Chepstow (16f, heavy) on her NH debut 14 days ago. Lots more is required. Five-time point winner in early 2024 but never competitive in a recent novice hurdle. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) ![]() Picture Of You |
6/4(-9%) | (6) Picture Of You 6/4, Still a maiden but she's posted some fairly useful efforts for Henry de Bromhead, second of 14 in 2m novice hurdle at Tramore in September. Has an absence to overcome but she's the clear form pick for her new stable. Second in two Irish maiden hurdles in September and has good chance on this stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) ![]() Our Rosie |
200/1(-33%) | (5) Our Rosie 200/1, 250/1, pulled up in novice hurdle at Wetherby (19.7f, heavy) on her hurdles bow 11 days ago. Major step forward is required. Pulled up when 250-1 for last month's hurdling debut; drops back from 2m3f today. |
Picture Of You has to be noted on her debut for new connections as she was second on her final two starts in Ireland. However, a chance can be taken on YOUHADMEATHELLO, who won between the flags in November 2023 and was bought for 90,000 pounds subsequently. The break is a slight concern but she could prove to be a class above. The rest all have questions to answer, but Crying Lightning is the pick of them.
The betting should reveal plenty but Alastair Ralph's new ex-Irish recruit PICTURE OF YOU has some fairly useful form to her name so is taken to make light of an absence and get off the mark. Both Crying Lightning and Youhadmeathello offer potential starting out in this sphere though and could emerge as big threats in that order.
Alastair Ralph's PICTURE OF YOU does not have an entirely convincing profile but her best Irish form makes her the one to beat.

5/2(+9%) | (2) I'll Sort That 5/2, Only seventh in a maiden hurdle on debut but left that well behind to win a 7-runner bumper (11/1) at Fairyhouse (2m, soft) 29 days ago, driven out. Should go well. : Built on debut promise when winning at Fairyhouse, claims if handling heavy. |

2nd (4) ![]() Strong Link |
7/2(+46%) | (4) Strong Link 7/2, Twice-raced maiden. Ran below the form of his debut second when third of 14 in bumper at Down Royal (17.2f, good to soft) 59 days ago. Solid efforts in first two bumpers, more needed and has to prove he handles heavy ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) ![]() Black Heather |
14/1(-100%) | (1) Black Heather 14/1, Won 15-runner bumper at Ballinrobe (15.5f, good) in July. Creditable third of 7 under a penalty at Listowel in September. Off since. Good ground winner at Ballinrobe, below par three runs on soft-heavy, others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) ![]() Spinningayarn |
1/1(-37%) | (3) Spinningayarn 1/1, Won sole start in points and followed up in a Navan bumper on Rules debut. The one to beat for top stable with an excellent record in this race. Point winner on heavy, won a bumper on soft at Navan last month, could follow up. |
With plenty of chat about both the runner-up and third horse, the bumper SPINNINGAYARN won at Navan is likely to have been well above average. The Gordon Elliott-trained gelding showed real battling qualities to get back up close home to edge the verdict on that occasion and the five-year-old can book his Cheltenham ticket here by maintaining his unbeaten record. I'll Sort That benefited from a spin over hurdles before landing a Fairyhouse bumper on his second start. Although more is required now, the gelding is open to improvement. Strong Link will need to step up on previous efforts but has crucial race experience which should stand to him against more unexposed opposition in this contest.
The Gordon Elliott stable is traditionally very strong in this bumper and SPINNINGAYARN is selected to remain unbeaten. Last month's Fairyhouse winner I'll Sort That is the obvious danger.
SPINNINGAYARN is narrowly preferred. He won his point on heavy ground and he showed a good attitude when winning at Navan last month.

1st (2) ![]() Record High |
9/4(+10%) | (2) Record High 9/4, A fairly useful bumper winner in 2022. Raced only once in 2 years after but back to form when placed over fences here last 2 starts and must have every chance in this field. Not far away in slow-ground chases here the last twice and his mark was left alone. |

2nd (5) ![]() Jukebox D'eddy |
5/1(0%) | (5) Jukebox D'eddy 5/1, Fair maiden hurdler who reached the frame in a couple of handicap chases at up to 3m in the autumn. Not at best last 2 starts but capable of being involved in a change of headgear. Not in bad form but only three completed last time and he's still a maiden. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) ![]() Dear Ralphy |
9/1(-260%) | (1) Dear Ralphy 9/1, Made an inauspicious start over fences when falling at the sixth at Wincanton over a year ago but was in top form over hurdles when last seen in the summer. Can go well fresh and interesting that connections are willing to have another go in this sphere. Capable staying hurdler but has steered clear of fences since falling 13 months ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) ![]() Abbeyhill |
9/4(+55%) | (4) Abbeyhill 9/4, Dual hurdles scorer around 3m last term. Best efforts over fences this season when making the frame in this headgear at Market Rasen/Ffos Las last 2 starts and there's still an air of unfinished business over fences with him. Below par this campaign but the upside is that he's back on a very good mark. |
RECORD HIGH only found one too good off this mark over an extended 3m3f at this venue a month ago and Suzy Smith's eight-year-old has to be of interest on the back of that performance. Jukebox D'eddy also hit the crossbar on his most recent outing, albeit over hurdles, and he has to be noted. Any market support for Dear Ralphy on his return would be interesting.
RECORD HIGH is threatening to win over fences and this could be it. Dear Ralphy made an inauspicious start over fences over a year ago but he was in top form over hurdles in the summer and can go well fresh, so may emerge as the biggest threat with connections willing to have another go in this sphere.
All of these carry some doubts but RECORD HIGH has rediscovered some form of late and that's come at this track.

1st (7) ![]() Pawpaw |
8/1(+43%) | (7) Pawpaw 8/1, Put his best foot forward when resuming winning ways at Fontwell in November but has long been inconsistent and not in same form next 2 starts. Others preferred. Probably wants drier ground and none too reliable these days at the best of times. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) ![]() Micro Millions |
12/1(+64%) | (5) Micro Millions 12/1, Won an Irish point and made the frame 3 times over hurdles at up to 25f for Dan Skelton last term. However, low-key efforts in 3 chases for this yard this season. Others appeal more. Ability for Dan Skelton but minor form in three chase starts for current operation. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) ![]() Jo Lescribaa |
6/5(+100%) | (1) Jo Lescribaa 6/5, Improving young staying chaser who arrives on a hat-trick after recent 3m handicap wins at Uttoxeter and Chepstow. Up another 8 lb but he still looks the one to beat for his top yard. Has made all for his recent wins and looks progressive; raised 8lb for last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) ![]() Haut Folin |
4/1(+43%) | (2) Haut Folin 4/1, In good form this term until pulled up in handicap chase at Lingfield (23.5f, soft) 23 days ago, folding tamely from home turn. Sort to get back on track. Seemingly deserted by Charlie Deutsch after a disappointing run last time out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) ![]() Iron D'ex |
8/1(-7%) | (6) Iron D'ex 8/1, Made a winning start over fences at Ludlow in October and decent efforts in defeat last 3 starts, third of 11 at Ludlow (3m) last time. In the mix once more. 1-5 over fences; looking handicapped about right but has an each-way chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) ![]() What A Time |
100/1(-100%) | (8) What A Time 100/1, Lightly-raced maiden hurdler/chaser. Cheekpieces tried when a remote fourth of 5 in handicap chase (28/1) at Uttoxeter (16f, heavy) 15 days ago. Very hard to warm to. Has shown pretty much zilch in two runs over fences, both handicaps. |
This looks a good opportunity for JO LESCRIBAA to complete the hat-trick. The Venetia Williams-trained gelding shaped as though this extra yardage would suit when completing the double in good style over an extended 2m7f at Chepstow last month and, with scope for further progress, an 8lb hike for that victory may not be enough to halt him. Chasing newcomer Minniemum sits on a decent mark and returned to form with a good third over hurdles at Warwick last time. She could prove the main threat, ahead of Iron D'ex.
JO LESCRIBAA's form is on an upward curve so Venetia Williams' young chaser is fancied to make light of an 8 lb weight hike and complete his hat-trick here. Henry Daly's chasing newcomer Minniemum arrives in good nick over hurdles and could prove the pick of the rest, although Iron d'Ex, Shillanavogy and Haut Folin all command respect too.
Chasing newcomer MINNIEMUM ran well off this mark in a competitive hurdle last time and is an alternative to Jo Lescribaa.

![]() No Flies On Him |
(3) 5/2(+0%) | (3) No Flies On Him 5/2, Useful winner at 16f over hurdles. 16/1, bit below form eighth of 15 in novice chase at Thurles (16f, good) 17 days ago. Back up in trip. Makes handicap debut. Leopardstown third good enough to suggest he could feature, moderate run at Thurles latest. |

![]() Shannon Royale |
(1) 4/1(+0%) | (1) Shannon Royale 4/1, Latest win in chase at Punchestown in December. 9/1, pulled up in handicap chase at Gowran (25f, soft) 31 days ago, pulled up before 3 out. Can bounce back in this smaller field. Good form in beginners' chases, thrown in at the deep end in the Thyestes, can feature now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Fascile Mode |
(2) 8/1(+6%) | (2) Fascile Mode 8/1, Latest win in chase at Punchestown in October. Pulled up in handicap chase at Leopardstown (17f, good to soft, 4/1) 22 days ago, tailed off when pulled up 4 out. Jumping issues have stalled his progress since he claimed a good scalp at Punchestown. |

![]() Nas Na Riogh |
(4) 8/1(+6%) | (4) Nas Na Riogh 8/1, Seventh of 9 in novice chase at Down Royal (16.5f, good to soft, 14/1) 33 days ago. Back up in trip. Makes handicap chase debut. Open to improvement. Two hurdle wins last spring were gained on better ground, unconvincing chase form so far. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Global Export |
(5) 10/1(+9%) | (5) Global Export 10/1, Latest win in chase at Down Royal in December. Fairly useful winner at 16f over hurdles. 6/1, respectable fifth of 9 in handicap chase at Cork (20f, soft) 37 days ago. Needs to jump better than in his first handicap, stablemate Theonewedreamof appeals more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Silver King |
(8) 33/1(+0%) | (8) Silver King 33/1, Ninth of 13 in handicap chase at Navan (23.8f, heavy, 17/2) 14 days ago. 0-8 over fences, second over 2m at this venue three starts ago, 9lb out of the handicap. |
Although having a bit to prove having been pulled up last time, SHANNON ROYALE rates the percentage call. The Gordon Elliott-trained seven-year-old had been in excellent form prior to that lapse, stepping up on two second placed finishes to come home in front at Punchestown in December. Connections have wisely decided to claim off the top-weight here, with the excellent James Smith easing the burden by 5lb. Point-to-point winner No Flies On Him looked a smart prospect earlier in his hurdling career but failed to build on initial promise. He remains of considerable interest over fences, while Fascile Mode is another that needs to step up on previous chasing efforts but is certainly capable of getting into the mix here.
SHANNON ROYALE found his first experience of a large-field handicap chase a shock to the system in the Thyestes at Gowran and is expected to bounce back in this lesser event. Theonewedreamof resumed her progress when scoring at Punchestown and is next best ahead of Nas Na Riogh, who should make more of an impact now handicapping.
Conor Stone-Walsh's claim can compensate for the fact that THEONEWEDREAMOF (nap) is 2lb wrong. She can add to her Punchestown win

(5) 13/8(+41%) | (5) General Briar 13/8, £55,000 recruit from the Irish point field at the end of 2023. It's taken a bit of time to get him to the track but this close relation to the yard's smart chaser Annual Invictus would still enter the reckoning if the betting vibes are strong. Point runner-up; makes bumper debut after absence but with trainer in good form. |

(6) 40/1(-21%) | (6) Khalife Des Obeaux 40/1, 12/1, down the field on his Hereford debut in December. Well beaten at 12-1 on debut at Hereford (good to soft) in December; transformation needed. |

![]() Mistress Fox |
(8) 80/1(+20%) | (8) Mistress Fox 80/1, 40/1, last of 7 in bumper at Chepstow on debut last March. Has a tongue strap added on return. Can only watch. 40-1 when always behind on debut at Chepstow (2m, soft) last March; absent since. |

![]() Sure To Be Sure |
(7) 100/1(+0%) | (7) Sure To Be Sure 100/1, Half-brother to 3 winners, including dual bumper winner Gaillimh A Chroi, but showed little in 2 bumpers in the autumn (62 lengths last of 3 at Exeter latterly). Tailed off at big odds in the autumn on his first two runs. |
CINQUENTA confirmed the promise that he displayed on debut when third again in a competitive event at Warwick in December. With further improvement likely, the five-year-old just tops the shortlist. Gaelic Pride is an Irish point-to-point winner who has to be noted on his Rules debut following his 50,000-pound purchase. General Briar and Crossgales King are others to consider in an open event.
The vote goes to Harry Cobden's mount GAELIC PRIDE, with confidence in this point winner's chance increased should the betting vibes be strong. Crossgales King and General Briar are other interesting recruits from the Irish point scene, while Cinquenta has shown a fair level of ability when twice third in similar races.
Chris Gordon won the last running of this race in 2023 and point runner-up GENERAL BRIAR is taken to defy an absence on bumper debut.

![]() Emerald Warrior |
(3) 13/8(+84%) | (3) Emerald Warrior 13/8, £45,000 Elusive Pimpernel gelding. The betting should help guide to expectations with this newcomer. Dam second in a bumper and a half-sister to top-class chaser Simonsig. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Donttellyamumjack |
(2) 7/2(-5%) | (2) Donttellyamumjack 7/2, Dariyan gelding. Half-brother to 6 winners, including bumper winner Mazyad. Dam 1½m winner who stayed 1¾m. Likely type on paper for a yard which does well in bumpers. Half-brother to six winners, including useful Flat performers and a bumper winner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Hay Macleod |
(5) 4/1(-60%) | (5) Hay Macleod 4/1, £60,000 Maxios gelding. Half-brother to fair hurdler Hawk Stone. Dam unraced sister to useful hurdler (stayed 25f) Orbys Legend. Respected debutant. £60,000 3yo; fourth foal; half-brother to 2m hurdle winner Hawk Stone. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Forthfactor |
(4) 5/1(+55%) | (4) Forthfactor 5/1, Wings of Eagles gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to fairly useful hurdler/chaser who became ungenuine (stayed 29f) Capard King. His trainer has tasted some success in bumpers this season so a market move would be interesting. Dam a point winner and stable's bumper runners are commanding a second look this season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Our Super Six |
(6) 6/1(-20%) | (6) Our Super Six 6/1, This Frankel gelding was picked up unraced out of the Owen Burrows for 20,000 gns last year. It'll be interesting to see what the betting makes of him. Bought for 20,000gns as a 3yo but he has a high-class Flat pedigree. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Bohemond Antioch |
(1) 7/1(+30%) | (1) Bohemond Antioch 7/1, Achieved little better than modest form when second and fourth in bumpers before Christmas and vulnerable to newcomers with potential. Modest form so far and no surprise should one of the newcomers have his measure. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Pearl Smoke |
(8) 10/1(-67%) | (8) Pearl Smoke 10/1, Dartmouth filly. Sister to 3m chase winner Pearl Island. The stable won this race in 2022 and she's another for whom the market will provide more clues. Sister to 3m chase winner Pearl Island; dam 2m6f-3m hurdle winner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Deauville Lady |
(7) 33/1(+0%) | (7) Deauville Lady 33/1, Scalo filly. Dam (c129/h123) 2m-23f hurdle/chase winner, also 1m winner who stayed 1¼m on Flat. Would be a rare bumper winner for the stable. Dam 1m 2yo winner in Germany and fairly useful hurdler/chaser for these connections. |
Bohemond Antioch is the only runner with previous experience but he doesn't set the bar very high and this could go to one of the interesting newcomers. Donttellyamumjack falls into that category as a half-brother to six winners and hailing from a respected yard, while it would be no surprise to see Pearl Smoke go well, but narrow preference is for HAY MACLEOD. A half-brother to 2m hurdle winner Hawk Stone, Alan King's gelding cost 60,000 pounds as a three-year-old and connections look to have found a good chance to recoup some of that outlay at the first attempt.
The suggestion is Alan King's HAY MACLEOD before any betting clues are known. Donttellyamumjack is another obvious one for a stable which gets plenty of bumper winners, while a market move for Forthfactor would be interesting given Tom Weston has done well in similar races this season.
Watch the betting but as things stand PEARL SMOKE is preferred over Hay Macleod and Donttellyamumjack.

![]() Blood Destiny |
(1) 4/11(+9%) | (1) Blood Destiny 4/11, Smart chaser. Creditable 8½ lengths third of 7 to Appreciate It in Kinloch Brae Chase at Thurles (20.9f, good, 7/4) 35 days ago. Tongue strap back on. Solid claims. Solid novice form in Gr 3s and a Gr 1 last season, ideal conditions here, hard to beat. |

![]() Espanito Bello |
(3) 6/1(+8%) | (3) Espanito Bello 6/1, Smart chaser. Course winner. 16/1, fifteenth of 19 in handicap hurdle at Navan (20f, soft) 36 days ago. Switches from hurdles to chase. Player on best form. Five-time course winner, third in this last year, better over further, others appeal more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Senecia |
(5) 7/1(+13%) | (5) Senecia 7/1, Useful chaser. Out of his depth in Dublin Chase at Leopardstown (17f, good to soft, 150/1) 21 days ago. Inconsistent but talented on his day, smart form at Navan on penultimate, ground a worry. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Rebel Gold |
(4) 8/1(-14%) | (4) Rebel Gold 8/1, Useful chaser. C&D winner. Creditable sixth of 12 in handicap chase (18/1) at Fairyhouse (17.2f, soft) 43 days ago. Won this in 2023, return to heavy ground a plus and might get an easy lead, place chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Arctic Skua |
(2) 200/1(+20%) | (2) Arctic Skua 200/1, Winning pointer. Little promise in chases (woefully out of depth last 2 outings). Rated 100 and looks well out of his depth here, stable holds better claims with Senecia. |
BLOOD DESTINY should appreciate returning to the minimum trip having been outstayed at Thurles on his reappearance. The Willie Mullins-trained gelding boasts some very smart novice form from last season, including a win at this track. A win here could see him book his Cheltenham ticket, where he would hold live chances in one of the handicaps. The veteran Espanito Bello loves it here but faces a stiff task if he is to record another success at his favourite track. At the same time, the 11-year-old looks the biggest threat to the Mullins contender. Rebel Gold, another in the twilight years of a successful career, might be good enough to take minor honours.
BLOOD DESTINY shaped encouragingly after 9 months off when third in a Grade 2 at Thurles and this looks a good opportunity for him to resume winning ways. Espanito Bello can follow him home.
BLOOD DESTINY is the one to beat. He will be suited by the return to 2m and heavy ground and he has rock solid novice form in the book.
Ths is the racecard key.
