1st (3) (9/4 +10%) Mick's Spirit |
9/4(+10%) | (3) Mick's Spirit 9/4, 5-time C&D winner. Improved on recent efforts to win 8-runner handicap at this C&D (AW, 6/1) 9 days ago, always holding on. Not taken lightly despite a 2 lb rise. Won over C&D last Friday (his fifth win here); back up just 2lb and could be bang there. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (7/2 +10%) Confederation |
7/2(+10%) | (7) Confederation 7/2, Sixteen runs since last win in 2022. 4/1, good second of 6 in handicap at this C&D (AW) 7 days ago. Unreliable type. Tricky to win with but good second over C&D last Sunday off this career-low mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (11/4 +21%) Thismydream |
11/4(+21%) | (4) Thismydream 11/4, Thirteen runs since last win in 2023. 11/4, respectable third of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 27 days ago. Has good chance on pick of form. Poor strike-rate but close third last time off this career-low mark; Simon Walker a plus. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (11/2 -38%) Phoenix Beach |
11/2(-38%) | (2) Phoenix Beach 11/2, Latest win at Newcastle in November. 7/2, last of 8 in handicap at Southwell (6.1f) 24 days ago. Makes polytrack debut. Needs a couple of these to falter. Won at Newcastle in November but below best the last twice; Polytrack debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (14/1 -56%) Boom The Groom |
14/1(-56%) | (1) Boom The Groom 14/1, 3-time C&D winner, latest in November. Last of 8 in handicap (18/1) at this C&D (AW) 42 days ago so needs to bounce back. Not quite at best over C&D last time but likes it here and could bounce back with bold bid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (6/1 +0%) Josies Kid |
6/1(+0%) | (5) Josies Kid 6/1, Creditable third of 6 in handicap (6/1) at Chelmsford City (5f) 2 days ago. 2lb lower than for November win; close third of six at Chelmsford on Friday. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Already a five-time course and distance winner, MICK'S SPIRIT seems to come alive at this venue and the Conrad Allen-trained gelding ticks too many boxes to be ignored. The recent Wolverhampton third Thismydream looks to be a big player with the irrepressible Simon Walker in the saddle, while Confederation is another who makes the shortlist from the foot of the handicap.
MICK'S SPIRIT took his form up a notch when garnering his fifth C&D success last week and a 2 lb rise doesn't look sufficient to prevent him from going in once more. Thismydream is weighted to go well and could be the danger.
The 13yo BOOM THE GROOM is a four-time winner on the Polytrack here and gets the nod ahead of recent C&D winner Mick's Spirit.

1st (7) (11/2 +21%) Helvic Dream |
11/2(+21%) | (7) Helvic Dream 11/2, Useful Flat winner. 20/1, fifth of 23 in novice hurdle at Leopardstown (16f, good to soft) 47 days ago. Should have plenty more to offer in this sphere given ability on the level. Smart flat performer hasn't quite stayed in two maiden hurdle runs; more needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (7/1 +0%) Angostura |
7/1(+0%) | (1) Angostura 7/1, Malinas gelding. Dam, fair 2m hurdle winner, half-sister to useful hurdler (stayed 25f) Knight Bachelor. Placed on second of 2 starts in points and joined a top yard. Placed in Boulta 4yo maiden point-in December (heavy); rules debut for top yard now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (10/1 +0%) Claude Du Val |
10/1(+0%) | (4) Claude Du Val 10/1, €54,000 3-y-o, Masked Marvel gelding. Half-brother to 4 winners, including fairly useful hurdler Hygrove Percy. Dam 12.6f winner. Interesting newcomer. 54,000euros half-brother to winning hurdler; market best guide on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (7/2 -115%) Gaucher |
7/2(-115%) | (5) Gaucher 7/2, Fairly useful Flat winner, making jumps debut. 43/10, won 7-runner minor event at Longchamp (9.9f, good). Off 16 months. First run for yard after leaving C. Laffon-Parias but he's definitely in the right hands. Market may guide as to expectations. French flat winner has Supreme Novices' entry so obvious respect from top yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (4/5 +57%) Ascending |
4/5(+57%) | (2) Ascending 4/5, Flat winner but yet to score over hurdles. Bit below form third of 28 in novice hurdle at Leopardstown (16f, good to soft, 6/4) 47 days ago. Yard in good form. Sets the bar pretty high having finished fifth in the 2023 Triumph. Maintaining a decent level of form and sure to be thereabouts again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (13) (28/1 +44%) Karacole |
28/1(+44%) | (13) Karacole 28/1, Flat winner but lightly-raced maiden under NH rules. 18/1, fell in novice hurdle at Punchestown (16.7f, soft) 6 days ago. Standout effort hurdling when fourth at Punchestown; first-flight faller at Leopardstown. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (100/1 +0%) Harveys Point |
100/1(+0%) | (6) Harveys Point 100/1, Thrice-raced maiden under NH rules. Ninth of 22 in novice hurdle at Punchestown (16.7f, soft, 80/1) 28 days ago. Two low-key maiden hurdles runs this term and likely to be of more interest in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (80/1 -220%) Barton Snow |
80/1(-220%) | (3) Barton Snow 80/1, Modest hurdler. Sixth of 9 in bumper (40/1) at Limerick (18f, heavy) 45 days ago. Switches from bumpers to hurdles. Hooded for first time. Didn't run badly in Galway maiden two starts back; of more interest in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (200/1 -100%) Not My Problem |
200/1(-100%) | (10) Not My Problem 200/1, 100/1, fourteenth of 16 in novice hurdle at Naas (19f, soft) on NH debut 59 days ago. No show on debut in 2m3f Naas maiden in December, likely to need more time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (14) (40/1 -233%) Lazy Bones |
40/1(-233%) | (14) Lazy Bones 40/1, Fourth of 9 in bumper (7/1) at Down Royal (17f, soft) on NH debut 47 days ago, going in snatches. Makes hurdles debut. Encouraging enough Down Royal debut; much more expected of here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) (100/1 -733%) Hypersonic Missile |
100/1(-733%) | (8) Hypersonic Missile 100/1, Lightly-raced winner under NH rules. 7/1, first run since leaving John McConnell when fifth of 12 in novice hurdle at Punchestown (16.1f, heavy) on hurdles bow 13 days ago. Stable in good form. Bumper form on better ground and struggled on heavy at Leopardstown recently. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (9) (200/1 -300%) Mister Vic |
200/1(-300%) | (9) Mister Vic 200/1, Lightly-raced maiden under NH rules. Tongue strap on for 1st time, eighth of 12 in novice hurdle at Down Royal (20.2f, soft, 150/1) on hurdles bow 47 days ago. Down in trip. Lots to find on recent hurdles debut and may want better ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (11) (200/1 -203%) Borora River |
200/1(-203%) | (11) Borora River 200/1, Golden Lariat mare. Half-sister to fair hurdler Cornakill Rose. Dam unraced. Half-sister to 2m4f hurdle winner Cornakill Rose; newcomer likely best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (12) (200/1 -300%) Crimlin Rose |
200/1(-300%) | (12) Crimlin Rose 200/1, €2,200 3-y-o, Pour Moi mare. Dam, pulled up sole start over hurdles, half-sister to fairly useful 21f hurdle winner Amrons Sage. Debutante likely all the better for the experience. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
GAUCHER somewhat belatedly debuts over jumps and contests a useful maiden but notably has a Supreme Novices Hurdle entry and has good French flat form. By Frankel and out of a Dubawi mare, he was a 260,000-euro purchase in November 2022 having won two middle-distance races including once at Longchamp, and while he runs in a first-time tongue-tie and wears his usual hood, is one of his trainer's 23 entries for Cheltenham's opener next month. Ascending finished fifth in last season's Triumph Hurdle and while he is reliable, race-fit and his form is in hot races, has nonetheless been beaten in three maidens and is vulnerable to a smarter type. Group 1 Tattersalls Gold Cup winner Helvic Dream has run two satisfactory races over hurdles but needs to improve to win while Angostura showed good form at Boulta in December but faces a tough task and notably skips bumpers. Claude Du Val is a half-brother to four French winners and is by Teahuppo's sire.
ASCENDING has been a shade disappointing both starts this term having finished an excellent fifth in the 2023 Triumph Hurdle but this looks a really good chance for him to open his account in this sphere. Helvic Dream isn't going to be matching his Flat form over hurdles but he's still open to progress and is a threat, while the market will help assess Gaucher on his return to the track.
From a yard mopping up maiden hurdles of late, French flat winner GAUCHER should be up to making a winning start over hurdles

1st (2) (8/1 -60%) Smooth Silesie |
8/1(-60%) | (2) Smooth Silesie 8/1, 20/1, second of 7 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 5 days ago, no match for winner. Makes polytrack debut. More required but she should at least give her running. Second at Wolverhampton on Tuesday, soundly beaten but still on the shortlist today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (9/2 +44%) Ten O'clock |
9/2(+44%) | (5) Ten O'clock 9/2, Lightly-raced maiden. Seventh of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f, 13/2) 29 days ago. Makes polytrack debut. Needs to show more. Has shown little but there's potential in her pedigree and she's not written off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (Evens -10%) Unavailable |
Evens(-10%) | (3) Unavailable Evens, Good second of 5 in handicap at this C&D (AW, 5/1) 16 days ago. Can go one better in a weak race if she's in the same form. A first win may well be imminent and this weak race could be an excellent opportunity. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (11/2 -22%) Talking Rubbish |
11/2(-22%) | (1) Talking Rubbish 11/2, Ninth of 10 in nursery at Chelmsford City (5f, 9/1) 52 days ago. Blinkers on 1st time. Claims if she can bounce back to the sort of form she showed on penultimate outing. Made it 0-7 when below par last time but perhaps the blinkers will give her a boost. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (20/1 +50%) Rosadilly |
20/1(+50%) | (6) Rosadilly 20/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Last of 9 in nursery (100/1) at Chelmsford City (7f) 52 days ago. Down in trip. Blinkered for 1st time. Hard to make a case for. Drops in trip but well beaten on all four starts and it's hard to be confident. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (10/1 -25%) Orange Rosetta |
10/1(-25%) | (7) Orange Rosetta 10/1, Fourth of 7 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f, 33/1) 5 days ago. Looks limited. Fair efforts the last twice (over C&D initially) and she's not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (20/1 -25%) Tiliana |
20/1(-25%) | (4) Tiliana 20/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 33/1, ninth of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 29 days ago. Visor on 1st time. Needs headgear to perk her up. Still early days but well beaten on last month's handicap debut at Wolverhampton. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
This moderate event presents UNAVAILABLE with a golden opportunity to register a first career win. The Chelsea Banham-trained three-year-old arrives on the back of three respectable placed efforts under Joey Haynes and, having just been mugged near the line in a deeper race over C&D 16 days ago, is hard to oppose in this weaker company. Smooth Silesie is feared most, having shown promise since joining her current yard, while the unexposed Ten O'clock completes the shortlist.
UNAVAILABLE arrives on the back of a solid showing here and should get the lead in a weak affair, so she's a solid choice. Talking Rubbish is a big threat if she bounces back in first-time blinkers and Smooth Silesie could be on the premises.
This weak race could provide an excellent opportunity for the in-form UNAVAILABLE (nap) to get off the mark at the ninth attempt.

1st (4) (5/2 -25%) Crebilly |
5/2(-25%) | (4) Crebilly 5/2, Enjoyed a positive season over hurdles last term, signing off with career-best display to score at Sandown (19.8f) in April. Going best when falling 2 out on return/chase debut at Cheltenham (20.2f) in November but jumping again cost him when fourth back there a month later. Just over 2l behind Trelawne at Cheltenham (2m4f, soft) last time on same terms as today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (7/5 +30%) Tahmuras |
7/5(+30%) | (1) Tahmuras 7/5, Created a good impression when winning his first 3 starts over hurdles, including the Grade 1 Tolworth at Sandown. Found out in Grade 1 company in the spring festivals but cast aside a tame chase debut in no uncertain terms when scoring in first-time cheekpieces at Aintree. Huge revival in cheekpieces last time, winning a novice handicap at Aintree (2m4f, soft). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (13/8 +1%) Trelawne |
13/8(+1%) | (3) Trelawne 13/8, Winner of 3 of his 4 starts over hurdles and immediately improved on that form as he made a successful debut over fences after 8 months off at Carlisle (2½m, soft) in November. Excellent efforts on the figures both starts since and cheekpieces should really help him. The one to beat. Cheekpieces go on; if they have no adverse effect he should be bang there once again. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
A switch back to going right-handed should play to TRELAWNE's strengths given he hung right throughout in the Towton Novices' Chase at Wetherby on his most recent outing. The eight-year-old is clearly a talented chaser and he should have too much for Grade 1 winner (hurdles) Tahmuras, who did it well when scoring at Aintree in December. Crebilly has just over two lengths to find with the selection from their meeting at Cheltenham.
TRELAWNE has taken pretty well to fences and very much appeals as the type to benefit from first-time cheekpieces, so he looks the way to go on these terms. Crebilly receives weight all round and these slightly less-demanding fences may help him jump with more fluency. He's feared most.
The Aintree win by Tahmuras makes him the one to beat but TRELAWNE, who has first-time cheekpieces himself today, is a worthy rival.

1st (1) (1/3 +34%) Brighterdaysahead |
1/3(+34%) | (1) Brighterdaysahead 1/3, Promising individual. 2/1, career best when winning 12-runner Gr 3 hurdle at Down Royal (16.9f, soft) 93 days ago by 4¾ lengths from Banntown Girl, going clear. Looks an excellent prospect and longer trip should suit, so boasts leading claims. Unbeaten mare with promise of more to come now upped in trip; the one to beat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (16/1 -45%) Pastorale |
16/1(-45%) | (6) Pastorale 16/1, Fairly useful hurdler. 4 lengths third of 9 to Birdie Or Bust in listed hurdle (28/1) at Thurles (15.9f, good to soft) 56 days ago, running on. Another bold show likely. Thurles third promising and this longer trip could see more improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (5/1 +0%) Mel Monroe |
5/1(+0%) | (5) Mel Monroe 5/1, Fairly useful hurdler. Fifth of 8 in handicap hurdle at Warwick (25f, soft, 5/1) 29 days ago. Can get back on track returned to a more suitable trip. Didn't seem to stay 3m1f latest, strong place claims on earlier form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (33/1 -32%) Butty O Brien |
33/1(-32%) | (4) Butty O Brien 33/1, Fair hurdler. 2 wins from 6 runs this season. Career best when winning 14-runner handicap hurdle at this course (20f, heavy, 5/1) 22 days ago. Dual 2m4f handicap winner here but much more on her plate here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (10/1 -33%) Annalecka |
10/1(-33%) | (2) Annalecka 10/1, Twice-raced winner under NH rules. 2/1, won 11-runner novice hurdle at Punchestown (20.2f, soft) on hurdles bow 27 days ago by nose from Ashdale Flyer, just holding on. Open to progress. Just held Ashdale Flyer at Punchestown; should appreciate going left-handed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (50/1 -317%) Ashdale Flyer |
50/1(-317%) | (3) Ashdale Flyer 50/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Very good nose second of 11 to Annalecka in novice hurdle at Punchestown (20.2f, soft, 5/1) 27 days ago. Has plenty to find. Stiffer test should give her every chance of reversing Punchestown form with Annalecka. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
The beautifully-bred BRIGHTERDAYSAHEAD returns from a break and concedes weight but can maintain the winning thread. A 310,000-euro store purchase and a half-sister to one Caldwell Potter, Mighty Potter and two other black-type performers, her form is consistently strong and while her big target is likely to be Cheltenham's 2m2f mares' novice, should also be suited by today's distance. Stablemate Mel Monroe was well held at Warwick last month but had previously run well in defeat in smart races. She lacks the selection's ability but might finish second. Annalecka defeated Ashdale Flyer by a nose to win last month but is now 7lb better off and should confirm placings, although each need to improve. Pastorale, which won a Pau chase in January 2023, has run well in two useful hurdles this winter but also needs to improve to win. Dual handicap winner Butty O Brien throws her hat into the ring looking for black-type.
BRIGHTERDAYSAHEAD was highly impressive in Grade 3 company last time and, although the 3-month absence is a slight concern, she's likely to defy a penalty back down in grade. Mel Monroe should bounce back to form and is considered a danger while Pastorale looks open to further improvement.
Upped in trip, BRIGHTERDAYSAHEAD can maintain her unbeaten record

1st (3) (3/1 -84%) Sennockian |
3/1(-84%) | (3) Sennockian 3/1, 11/4, career best when winning 5-runner handicap at Newcastle (8f) 9 days ago. Makes polytrack debut. Still unexposed and did well to get up last time, so big player. Head win in five-runner handicap at Newcastle (1m, Tapeta), always front rank and rallying. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (9/2 +0%) Ippotheos |
9/2(+0%) | (2) Ippotheos 9/2, Winner at Wolverhampton in December. 17/2, seventh of 8 in handicap at Kempton (6f) 39 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Tongue strap back on, cheekpieces on 1st time. Should benefit from the return to a left-handed track and stable is going well. Wolverhampton 6f win in December; backward steps both runs since; plenty of changes today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (10/1 -54%) Reveal |
10/1(-54%) | (5) Reveal 10/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 12/1, first run since leaving Ralph Beckett when fifth of 9 in minor event at Newcastle (7.1f) 20 days ago. Makes handicap debut and could do better for yard having good year. Bred to stay 1m and this unexposed sort is worth a second look on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (12/1 -71%) Kapparis Kid |
12/1(-71%) | (4) Kapparis Kid 12/1, Temperamental sort. Winner at Chelmsford City in December. Last of 6 in handicap at Kempton (6f, 5/1) 8 days ago. Significantly back up in trip. Mark demands improvement. Won Chelmsford novice but last of six in Kempton handicap; worth another go beyond 6f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (10/11 +60%) Aljezur |
10/11(+60%) | (1) Aljezur 10/11, Lightly-raced maiden. Creditable third of 10 in maiden (evens) at Kempton (7f) 20 days ago. Makes handicap debut and could do better now. Fair form all four runs; 1m plausible; may still be open to improvement, which he needs. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
The handicapper has taken no chances with ALJEZUR, but the son of Galileo Gold showed stacks of promise in his four previous starts and can score on his handicap debut. Assuming he handles the sharp nature of this course, stepping up to a mile could bring about improvement from the selection. Sennockian is the biggest danger given his Newcastle success was well advertised when the third won next time. Handicap debutant Reveal is the pick of the rest.
SENNOCKIAN has few miles on the clock and upped his game to score at Newcastle last time, so he's comfortably the most appealing proposition. Ippotheos could return to form back on a left-handed track and handicap debutant Reveal may not have reached his limit at this stage.
The most solid claims seem to belong to SENNOCKIAN, given the revival for a 1m win on his reappearance, but there are dangers.

200/1(-33%) | (4) Absolute Steel 200/1, No impact in a Market Rasen bumper and a novice hurdle. Tailed off at 200-1 on hurdle debut at Chepstow and is best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (4/9 +65%) Lowry's Bar |
4/9(+65%) | (3) Lowry's Bar 4/9, Irish point winner who readily maintained his unbeaten record over hurdles when completing the 4-timer at Chepstow 18 days ago, confirming his stamina for 10.5f in the process. Strong traveller and looks well on the way to becoming useful. 4-4 over h'dles and has achieved strong level of form; leading claims under double penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (25/1 +62%) Diamatiste |
25/1(+62%) | (6) Diamatiste 25/1, Fourth both starts in points and a fair sort physically. Positives to draw from both starts so far and this trip will suit but he meets a trio of interesting rivals here. Has shown some ability but not enough to suggest he'll be winning this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (28/1 +58%) Pirates' Tale |
28/1(+58%) | (8) Pirates' Tale 28/1, Excellent start when runner-up in a bumper at Newton Abbot in October but disappointing that he couldn't get close to that form here a month later. Hurdles debut up in trip. Promise on first of two bumper runs; retains potential but now goes hurdling in warm race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (7/4 +30%) Josh The Boss |
7/4(+30%) | (2) Josh The Boss 7/4, Fair in bumpers but surpassed that form when routing the opposition on return/debut in this sphere at Warwick (21f, good). Defied a penalty in an unconventional race at Aintree next time and looked set to finish second before unseating in Grade 2 company at Sandown latest. Won on first two hurdle starts and running well in Grade 2 when unseating at final flight. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (22/1 +56%) Senor Diaz |
22/1(+56%) | (9) Senor Diaz 22/1, Isn't bred to need a trip but stuck to his task when runner-up at Chepstow 3 weeks ago. Meets classier opposition here. 2nd at Chepstow but form is relatively modest; others have more substance to their claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (100/1 +0%) Bredon Hill Dart |
100/1(+0%) | (5) Bredon Hill Dart 100/1, Merely hinted at ability in a brace of course bumpers. Soundly beaten in bumpers here on first two starts and hard to fancy on hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (50/1 +24%) Totowolfe |
50/1(+24%) | (10) Totowolfe 50/1, Off mark in Irish points at third attempt. Shaped as if he'd be better for the run when fifth of 16 in maiden hurdle here in December but dropped away tamely at Chepstow since. Point winner; fifth on hurdle debut but needs bigger run today and tailed off latest. |

LOWRY'S BAR hasn't put a foot wrong this season and this is another step up the ladder as he looks to bring up the five-timer for his in-form connections. The slight drop in trip should not inconvenience him, with the progressive Josh The Boss looking best placed to chase him home if he's none the worse for his unseat in Grade 2 company at Sandown. A promising third on his hurdling debut behind a talented sort of Ben Pauling's, Home Free is open to improvement and can also get involved.
Separating LOWRY'S BAR, Hasthing and Josh The Boss isn't easy given they've already won 8 hurdles races between them but the first-named runner looks a very professional and useful novice in the making, so he gets the nod in favour of the Jonjo O'Neill representative.
Having made it 4-4 over hurdles when winning a handicap at Chepstow, LOWRY'S BAR is taken to maintain his unbeaten rules record.

2nd (5) (16/5 +57%) Beacon Edge |
16/5(+57%) | (5) Beacon Edge 16/5, Very smart chaser. C&D winner. 1 win from 3 runs this season. 40/1, 13½ lengths fourth of 6 to Irish Point in Christmas Hurdle at Leopardstown (23.4f, heavy) 45 days ago. Won this race and Drinmore Chase in 2021, sights lowered now after Grade 1 run on latest. |

3rd (6) (6/1 +33%) Da Capo Glory |
6/1(+33%) | (6) Da Capo Glory 6/1, Useful hurdler. 2 wins from 4 runs this season. 9/2, career best when winning 8-runner handicap hurdle at Cork (20f, heavy) 36 days ago. Likely to find at least one too good. Return from after a break to win a 2m4f handicap at Cork last month, stepping up in class. |

4th (8) (25/1 -108%) Galvin |
25/1(-108%) | (8) Galvin 25/1, Very smart chaser. Course winner. Respectable fifth of 13 in Cross Country handicap chase at Cheltenham (29.2f, good to soft, 11/2) 58 days ago. Switches from chase to hurdles. Down in trip. Not ruled out. Former top-class staying chaser, below his best in two cross-country runs this season. |

5th (4) (11/2 -57%) Ashdale Bob |
11/2(-57%) | (4) Ashdale Bob 11/2, Smart hurdler. Course winner. Sixteen runs since last win in 2021. 6/1, 13½ lengths third of 4 to Monkfish in John Mulhern Galmoy Hurdle at Gowran (24f, heavy) 17 days ago. Worth considering. His losing sequence stretches back to April 2021, hard to be confident on recent evidence. |

6th (7) (33/1 -136%) Delta Work |
33/1(-136%) | (7) Delta Work 33/1, High-class chaser. Eleven wins from 33 NH runs. 4/1, below form sixth of 13 in Cross Country handicap chase at Cheltenham (29.2f, good to soft) 86 days ago. Switches from chase to hurdles. Back down in trip. Warming up for the cross-country race he has won at the last two Cheltenham Festivals. |

7th (1) (12/1 -20%) Sire Du Berlais |
12/1(-20%) | (1) Sire Du Berlais 12/1, High-class hurdler. Course winner. Respectable ¾-length third of 9 to Klassical Dream in Champion Stayers' Hurdle at Punchestown (23.6f, good to soft, 7/1) when last seen. Off 9 months. Might need this but still has plenty of class and got to go well. Fourth behind Blazing Khal here last year before two Grade 1 wins, makes seasonal debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (4/1 -60%) Blazing Khal |
4/1(-60%) | (2) Blazing Khal 4/1, Very smart hurdler. C&D winner. 9/2, bit below form 11¼ lengths sixth of 11 to Sire Du Berlais in Stayers' Hurdle at Cheltenham (24f, good to soft) when last seen. Can make a successful comeback in this race once again. Defied a long absence to win this race last year, good chance of a repeat success. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
BLAZING KHAL has reportedly had a stop-start preparation despite being in since July but won this race on reappearance following a long layoff last year. A triple Grade 2 winner - including twice at Cheltenham, he smartly won last year's renewal and while well beaten in the subsequent Stayers Hurdle, probably underperformed. 2021 Drinmore Chase winner Beacon Edge finished six-and-a-half-lengths third in last year's renewal of this race and while he lacks a gear to be high-class, should run well and be placed. Ashdale Bob is dependable but might bump into a few too good while De Capo Glory steps up from a recent handicap win. Sire Du Berlais won last year's Stayers Hurdle but is now 12, finished fourth in last year's renewal and will have bigger spring targets ahead - with his trainer recently downplaying today's chances. Hiddenvalley Lake's chase career has been put on hold and faces a tough task on hurdling return while Cheltenham's cross country candidates Galvin and Delta Work will be sharper for today's outing.
BLAZING KHAL wasn't disgraced in the Stayers' Hurdle when last seen and can make a winning return in this race for the second year running. Old rival Sire du Berlais, who beat the selection at Cheltenham, may need the run but he's still the obvious danger, while Ashdale Bob can't be dismissed.
Winner of this event last year after an absence of 14 months, BLAZING KHAL is tipped to record a repeat success.

8th (9) (10/1 +29%) Rebel Redemption |
10/1(+29%) | (9) Rebel Redemption 10/1, Eighteen runs since last win in 2022 but he posted a creditable 2½ lengths fifth of 12 to Neptune Legend in minor event (18/1) at this course (7f, AW) 6 days ago. No forlorn hope. The drop back in trip may help but losing run goes back 18 races to August 2022. |

9th (3) (12/1 +25%) Autumn Flight |
12/1(+25%) | (3) Autumn Flight 12/1, Modest gelding. C&D winner. 33/1, last of 12 in minor event at Newcastle (6f) 7 days ago, racing closer to pace than ideal. Can give a good account. C&D winner who was close third over C&D two starts ago and is one to consider. |

10th (5) (50/1 -100%) Furnicoe |
50/1(-100%) | (5) Furnicoe 50/1, Modest filly. 66/1 and visored for 1st time, ninth of 11 in handicap at Southwell (5f) 17 days ago. Back up in trip. Cheekpieces back on. Not easy to make a case for. Below best on her three starts last month and is now 0-21. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
SAVANNAH SMILES fared best of those held up when fourth over C&D last week and she can make a bold bid for the gold medal here. Neptune Legend won over 7f here last time and can make his presence felt once again, although his draw could have been kinder. I'm Mable should appreciate this step back up to 6f and is another to consider.
Little between the principals at these weights so at the likely odds it is worth siding with SAVANNAH SMILES to bag a second C&D success having not enjoyed the rub of the green when a close fourth here last time. Repartee heads the list of dangers on the back of his good recent course second, with Admirable Lad and Neptune Legend also well in the mix.
The return to Lingfield could be ideal for C&D winner AUTUMN FLIGHT and he is the selection ahead of I'm Mable.

1st (5) (6/4 +20%) Fun Fun Fun |
6/4(+20%) | (5) Fun Fun Fun 6/4, Ready winner of first two starts in bumpers, including Grade 2 at Leopardstown a year ago. Easily landed the odds in Thurles maiden on her hurdling bow in November, before making a bad mistake at the last in listed mares' novice back at Thurles last time. Leading claims. Set to win Listed mares' novice at Thurles until final-flight error; lots to like. |

2nd (2) (11/8 +39%) Favour And Fortune |
11/8(+39%) | (2) Favour And Fortune 11/8, Easy winner of 2 bumpers last season before finding it tougher in the Champion Bumper. However, he had no problem landing the odds on his first 2 starts over hurdles and took another step forward when runner-up in the Grade 1 Formby at Aintree last time. Respected. Highly likeable prospect who was Grade 1 runner-up last time; firmly in calculations. |

3rd (3) (11/4 +17%) Insurrection |
11/4(+17%) | (3) Insurrection 11/4, Showed plenty in a bumper on his Rules debut and, following wind surgery, scored on his seasonal/hurdles bow at this C&D in November. Good second in Grade 2 at Sandown next time, but only third back in novice company at Taunton last month. Needs to get back on the up. Grade 2 runner-up whose last-time-out 3rd at Taunton has been firmly boosted by front two. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
This can go the way of FAVOUR AND FORTUNE, who ran an excellent race when only collared late in the piece in a Grade 1 at Aintree on Boxing Day. Alan King's charge is proven under these conditions, which bodes well ahead of a clash with Irish raider Fun Fun Fun, who may well be unbeaten in this sphere but for a costly mistake at the last at Thurles. Insurrection has the form to get involved, while Lookaway would have been a key player but struggled in the Betfair Hurdle on Saturday.
FUN FUN FUN looked unlucky not to make it 2 from 2 over hurdles when making a bad mistake at the last in a listed event at Thurles in December, in control at the time, and she can make Willie Mullins' first runner at this track a winning one. Favour And Fortune is feared most after his Grade 1 second last time, while Lookaway is also one to consider if taking up this engagement.
The Willie Mullins-trained mare FUN FUN FUN can make amends for Thurles last time, when she blundered at the final flight.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Zeeband makes a quick reappearance after beating all bar Dancing Jeremy at Fairyhouse on Wednesday and should go close if none the worse for those exertions. However, this will be the Flat-bred gelding's third run on testing ground in just over two weeks and GRACE FARADAY gets slight preference. She made a creditable start in handicaps when upped to 2m5f at the Limerick Christmas meeting and the form of that race has been working out with the runner-up going one better and the third also running well next time. Padraigs Boy held every chance when falling on his handicap debut at Cork last time, while Aodhan May won a 3m1f handicap chase at Wexford last spring and probably ran better than her finishing position would suggest at Fairyhouse last month. Stockdale and Clear The Clouds are others to consider.
CLEAR THE CLOUDS shaped well after 6 months off when sixth at Punchestown despite racing on the unfavoured inside so could be the answer off the same mark. Zeeband and Grace Faraday head the dangers.
Normal improvement from her first handicap attempt at Limerick might be enough to see GRACE FARADAY win a race of this standard

6th (4) (3/1 +25%) Hystery Bere |
3/1(+25%) | (4) Hystery Bere 3/1, Fairly useful winner at 16f in chases. 3/1, pulled up in handicap chase at Newbury (16.4f, soft) 19 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Modest on the Flat, good on last Flat run. Unexposed on Flat; mark is very appealing if he's judged on ability as a hurdler or chaser. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Hystery Bere posted a laboured effort over fences at Newbury last month but, off what looks a workable Flat mark, he can make his presence felt on his return to this sphere. However, THE BUNT is unexposed and looks a more solid proposition. Simon Pearce's gelding arrives on the back of an excellent second on his first try over 2m and up 3lb, he may be tough to stop. The Craftymaster was last seen scoring over C&D earlier this month and he can make his presence felt, although a 4lb rise may make life tougher for him.
A decent race for the grade with the vote going to the unexposed THE BUNT, who pulled clear of the rest when second on his handicap debut at Kempton. Thriving pair The Craftymaster and Destinado head the dangers.
A small field in which all should be taken seriously. Improvement from THE BUNT may prevent The Craftymaster's five-timer.

Raised 6 lb but there could easily be more to come. Big shout. 2-3 in handicaps; has plenty of potential and shapes as if he has major stamina reserves. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (12/1 -85%) My Drogo |
12/1(-85%) | (1) My Drogo 12/1, Smart winning hurdler/chaser in 2020/21 but off for 23 months before only ninth of 11 in handicap chase at Aintree (19.9f, soft) 105 days ago. Switches to hurdles and not written off on his handicap debut in this sphere. Looked a top prospect in 2021; always towards rear in Aintree chase (October) after layoff. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (20/1 -25%) Carbon King |
20/1(-25%) | (9) Carbon King 20/1, Progressive when winning 3 handicap hurdles in Ireland last season and, making his first start over fences for his current yard, returned to form when winning handicap at Ffos Las (19.4f) in December. Stiff task in Grade 2 at Warwick last time so he could bounce back now hurdling again. Back from chasing; not proven over this sort of trip and needs a career best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (33/1 -32%) Third Wind |
33/1(-32%) | (3) Third Wind 33/1, Back to his very best when landing the final of this series at the 2022 Cheltenham Festival. Off 22 months before pulled up in handicap hurdle at Warwick (25f, soft) 29 days ago. Can build on it now. Won the Pertemps Final (3m, soft) in 2022; absent since until pulled up four weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (33/1 -32%) Captain Morgs |
33/1(-32%) | (7) Captain Morgs 33/1, Useful but not the most straightforward, hanging left off the bridle (also flashed tail) when second over fences at Huntingdon in November. Pulled up at Cheltenham back hurdling since so others appeal more. Has something to prove on soft and heavy ground, as shown when pulled up on latest outing. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
GOWEL ROAD produced an encouraging display when finishing third in this grade at Lingfield last month and he remains on the same mark. The son of Flemensfirth is still relatively lightly raced for his age and goes in a first-time tongue-tie, which could eke out the improvement needed. Mill Green hit the frame over fences at Warwick last time and he has to be considered back over the smaller obstacles, while Goshhowposh is in cracking form and is another to note.
GOSHHOWPOSH displayed a good attitude when going in at Wincanton on Boxing Day and with few miles still on the clock he can defy a 6 lb rise and bag a third success of the season. Course scorer Hititi is feared most on the back of a good Plumpton second, with veteran Mill Green another who could have a say reverted to this sphere. Gowel Road completes the shortlist.
Very lightly raced and all set to find further improvement with tests of stamina, GOSHHOWPOSH (nap) is the one to beat.

1st (2) (7/2 +65%) American Mike |
7/2(+65%) | (2) American Mike 7/2, Useful chaser (successful return here). 25 lengths fourth of 5 to Gaelic Warrior in Faugheen Novices' Chase (13/2) at Limerick (19.4f, heavy) 45 days ago, finishing weakly. Up in trip. Bit to prove now once more. Beat the talented Fact To File here on chase debut, faded tamely at Limerick, may rebound. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (6/4 -65%) Nick Rockett |
6/4(-65%) | (4) Nick Rockett 6/4, Smart hurdler. 2/7, improved when winning 5-runner novice chase at Fairyhouse (21.4f, heavy) 41 days ago, readily. More to come up in trip and lots to like. Lightly raced, looks capable of making a top chaser, Townend prefers to Minella Cocooner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (11/8 +21%) Minella Cocooner |
11/8(+21%) | (3) Minella Cocooner 11/8, Smart winner at 22f over hurdles. 11/10, didn't need to be at best when winning 6-runner novice chase at this C&D (heavy) 22 days ago, comfortably. The 2022 Albert Bartlett second seems sure to go well. Remote third behind Fact To File before comfortable C&D win last month, Townend deserts. |

4th (1) (14/1 -65%) Favori De Champdou |
14/1(-65%) | (1) Favori De Champdou 14/1, Winner of 3 of his 6 starts over hurdles and impressive when taking the Florida Pearl at Punchestown in November. Poor when 33¾ lengths fifth of 6 to Grangeclare West in Neville Hotels Novices' Chase at Leopardstown (24.4f, soft, 3/1) 44 days ago. Can bounce back. Struggled in Grade 1 at Leopardstown at Christmas, Jack Kennedy prefers American Mike. |

66/1(-32%) | (5) Senecia 66/1, Useful chaser. 200/1, 39¼ lengths last of 6 to Il Etait Temps in Irish Arkle Novices' Chase at Leopardstown (17f, soft) 8 days ago, refusing to settle. Significantly up in trip. Hood on 1st time. Would be a surprising winner. Out of his depth in the Arkle eight days ago, hooded now, faces another stiff task. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Riding arrangements suggest NICK ROCKETT is preferred to C&D winner Minella Cocooner. The selection progressed really well last term completing a hat-trick in a Grade 2 novice hurdle at the Fairyhouse Easter meeting and showed the benefit of a run over fences when easily beating Tactical Move (won since) over 2m5f also at Fairyhouse on New Year's Day. This longer trip should play to his strengths. Minella Cocooner was the pick of these over hurdles and rates a serious threat after jumping well when successful here last month. American Mike made a bright start over fences beating Fact To File over 2m4f here in November but needs to bounce back after a disappointing effort at Limerick while stablemate Favori De Champdou won a Punchestown Grade 2 in good style before being soundly beaten behind Grangeclare West at Leopardstown.
An interesting renewal of this Grade 2 staying novice with Willie Mullins surely holding the aces, MINELLA COCOONER just preferred over Nick Rockett with very little between them.
If AMERICAN MIKE can reproduce the form of a course 2m4f win in November he may prove superior to the Willie Mullins-trained pair

6/4(+40%) | (6) Kento 6/4, Off 8 months (gelded), improved on his debut form when third of 8 in maiden at Chelmsford City (6f, 9/2) 31 days ago. Enters calculations. Promising 3rd at Chelmsford last month on second start and that run makes him a key player. |

125/1(-25%) | (3) Tenet 125/1, Well held in his 2 starts to date, eighth of 9 in minor event at this course (7f, 200/1) 18 days ago. Looks to be up against it. Big odds and beaten 20l last month on first two runs (6f/7f, Polytrack). |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
SOVEREIGN KNIGHT produced his best performance to date when filling the runner-up spot over 7f here last month. Given the fact he weakened late on that day, the drop to 6f could suit, with the addition of first-time cheekpieces another potential source of improvement. Kento, who hit the frame at Chelmsford a month ago, looks the most likely threat. Radiant Angel warrants close inspection in the betting ahead of his racecourse bow.
SOVEREIGN KNIGHT has been thereabouts in all 3 of his starts so far, no extra only late on when runner-up at this course last time, so he is taken to get off the mark as he drops in trip with cheekpieces applied. Kento progressed from his debut when third at Chelmsford a month ago and looks the biggest threat, with Radiant Angel the pick of the newcomers.
Having reappeared with a close third at Chelmsford last month on his second start, KENTO is open to further improvement and is the pick.

1st (4) (11/1 +8%) Carole's Pass |
11/1(+8%) | (4) Carole's Pass 11/1, Fairly useful winning hurdler has shown promise when placed in a pair of listed contests over fences so far, latterly when a place ahead of Pink Legend at Doncaster (20.5f, soft) in December. All but brought down by that rival at Huntingdon last time and she remains with potential. Going beyond 2m4f is worth a go but she needs three of these to underperform in major way. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (7/2 -133%) Malina Girl |
7/2(-133%) | (2) Malina Girl 7/2, Resumed progress when scoring at Cheltenham (27.3f, soft) in November and may well have followed up if not for a late fall there the next month. Down the field at Warwick last time (Galia des Liteaux second) but she still rates as a leading player in this company. Looked good twice at Cheltenham this term; problem is her performance in Classic Chase. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (12/1 +14%) Kestrel Valley |
12/1(+14%) | (5) Kestrel Valley 12/1, Likeable front runner who is two from three for her current yard, proving she's still on the up with an authoritative display at Ludlow in January. Well worth a crack in this grade for all it's clearly her stiffest task to date. 2-3 for current stable and thoroughly proven at this sort of trip, but plenty to find. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (4/5 +36%) Galia Des Liteaux |
4/5(+36%) | (1) Galia Des Liteaux 4/5, Quickly developed into a smart chaser last term, the highlight coming when wining Grade 2 novice at Warwick. Landed odds in mares listed race on return and produced a fine effort in defeat upped to staying trip when runner-up in the Classic Chase there (29.2f, soft) 29 days ago. Should go well. Cheekpieces on when second in 3m5f Classic Chase; sets the standard on her best form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (11/2 +21%) Pink Legend |
11/2(+21%) | (3) Pink Legend 11/2, Tough and dependable sort made the most of a good opportunity when scoring in this grade again at Newbury in December. Never really going well before departing in a similar contest at Huntingdon last month, though, and this looks a hot race of the type. Made all in this race last year and there have been three wins since, latest in December. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
GALIA DES LITEAUX (second) had Malina Girl (seventh) behind when showing great heart to battle all the way to the line over 3m5f in a premier handicap at Warwick last month. She is now rated 146, which makes her joint top-rated in this contest. As for the latter, she is 4lb better off at the weights this time around, so could get closer. Pink Legend is more than capable at this level and is another to watch out for.
GALIA DES LITEAUX only narrowly failed to concede 20 lb to another mare in the Classic Chase at Warwick last time and her overall profile at this level is solid, so she's fancied to notch her second win of the season at the chief expense of Irish raider Malina Girl, who wasn't quite at her best behind the selection last time but is talented enough to pose a real threat on a going day. Likeable front-runner Kestrel Valley is up in grade but gets the nod for third.
Last year's winner Pink Legend returns but will probably be up against it if GALIA DES LITEAUX or Malina Girl are on their game.

4/1(+0%) | (6) Rolly Bowley Boy 4/1, 3/1, creditable second of 6 in novice chase at Punchestown (22.7f, soft) 28 days ago. Can give a good account. Placed on all five starts this season, closely matched with Atacanter on Punchestown run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (5/2 -25%) Positive Thinker |
5/2(-25%) | (2) Positive Thinker 5/2, Latest win in hurdle at Limerick in October. Excellent second of 7 in handicap chase at Down Royal (24f, heavy, 6/4) 19 days ago. Has to be taken seriously despite a 2 lb rise. Holding his form well, two wins/four places since last autumn, should be involved again. |

4th (3) (7/2 +30%) Neveradullmoment |
7/2(+30%) | (3) Neveradullmoment 7/2, Winner in hurdle at Galway in July. 15/8, creditable fourth of 6 in minor event chase at Fairyhouse (21.8f, soft) 29 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Enters calculations. Below best in a rated contest last time but has a fair chance in a race of this standard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (6/1 +0%) Atacanter |
6/1(+0%) | (7) Atacanter 6/1, 8/1, good third of 6 in novice chase at Punchestown (22.7f, soft) 28 days ago. Makes handicap chase debut. Ought to be in the shake-up. Only 1 3/4l behind Rolly Bowley Boy when they met on level terms at Punchestown, gets 4lb. |

6th (8) (66/1 -100%) Thegoaheadman |

Switches to chasing with work to do. Well-beaten over hurdles on recent stable debut, 7lb out of the handicap, makes no appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (11/2 -38%) So Des Flos |
11/2(-38%) | (1) So Des Flos 11/2, Latest win in chase at Fairyhouse in December. Good fourth of 9 in handicap chase (4/1) at Fairyhouse (24.3f, heavy) 57 days ago. Needs considering. Went up 8l for a handicap debut win, 6l behind Positive Thinker when fourth on latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (4) (12/1 +14%) Old Soul |
12/1(+14%) | (4) Old Soul 12/1, 9/2, only fifth of 6 in handicap chase at Cork (20f, heavy) 36 days ago so needs to bounce back. Not progressive, looks held by Positive Thinker and So Des Flos on at Fairyhouse running. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
ROLLY BOWLEY BOY won a 2m4f handicap hurdle on testing ground at Clonmel just over a year ago and can gain a deserved success over fences following a series of placed efforts this term. The selection beat all bar Bushmans Pass over 2m7f at the Limerick Christmas meeting and had Atacanter (now 4lb better off) back in third when just denied by Kates Hill at Punchestown last month. Positive Thinker won over both hurdles and fences last autumn and has continued in good form since including when just edged out by Emancipator over this trip at Fairyhouse with So Des Flos and Old Soul both behind. So Des Flos previously won over a shorter distance at Fairyhouse and has a chance at the weights.
POSITIVE THINKER arrives on the up and a 2 lb rise for his excellent recent Down Royal second looks insufficient to prevent him from going one better. Gordon Elliott's top-weight So des Flos is next on the list with in-form pair Rolly Bowley Boy and Neveradullmoment also in the picture.
This trip may prove within the range of NEVERADULLMOMENT who was not beaten far in his first handicap and has had another race since

Three months off (wind surgery) before second in a C&D classified 18 days ago; in the mix. |

9th (7) (40/1 -150%) Miss Tiki |
40/1(-150%) | (7) Miss Tiki 40/1, Modest mare. 10/1, respectable seventh of 12 in minor event at Kempton (12f) 11 months ago. Not seen for almost a year and is dropped back in trip; probably best watched. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
The vote goes to MOON OVER THE SEA, who was on target in handicap company at Wolverhampton last month. He's favoured on these terms, especially when taking into account Jack Doughty's 7lb claim, so the five-year-old can repeat the dose. Following wind surgery, Tawtheef finished a creditable second in a similar C&D event when last seen. If Patrick Chamings' charge can take another step forward he's unlikely to be far away, along with Forever Proud, who was behind him in third that day.
MOON OVER THE SEA has been notably more prolific than his opposition here in recent years and Tony Carroll's gelding can follow up his latest Wolverhampton success. Stopnsearch has shaped as if back in form on his last couple of outings and can get involved, with Tawtheef taken to complete the placings.
The principal players may be TAWTHEEF, Moon Over The Sea and Stopnsearch.

6/1(-20%) | (8) Ramses De Teillee 6/1, Creditable fourth of 14 in handicap chase (8/1) at Warwick (24f, soft) 29 days ago, going with enthusiasm. Back down to last winning mark and shaped well in this event last season. Strong claims. Creditable fourth in last month's Veterans' Final and has become well handicapped. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (13) (9/1 +18%) Wayfinder |
9/1(+18%) | (13) Wayfinder 9/1, Back on track initially this season after wind surgery. Pulled up in the Welsh National last time but might well bounce back and looks a player in this company. Ran well at favourite track Chepstow in December; going right-handed may not be ideal here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (12/1 +57%) Fiddlerontheroof |
12/1(+57%) | (2) Fiddlerontheroof 12/1, Class act at his peak and, while he's been off 14 months since leaving Joe Tizzard, the handicapper has given him a chance, so he's an interesting runner on his first go in veterans' company. Smart for the Tizzard stable but absent since a disappointing run in November 2022. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (18/1 -112%) Remastered |
18/1(-112%) | (3) Remastered 18/1, Smart handicap chaser on his day and, while he hasn't fired for a while, he at least had an excuse at Newbury 71 days ago. Could bounce back after a break. Collected good prize off this mark last season but pulled up on three of last four outings. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (20/1 -11%) Cepage |
20/1(-11%) | (5) Cepage 20/1, Useful chaser nowadays. Lightly raced in recent seasons and back to form fitted in this headgear when winning 20.5f Cheltenham veterans' event in December. Ran no sort of race at Warwick next time, however. Could feature if he's in the mood. Emphatic winner in first-time cheekpieces in December but ran very poorly on latest outing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (25/1 -39%) Two For Gold |
25/1(-39%) | (1) Two For Gold 25/1, Signed off last season with success in a veterans' handicap at Ascot and returned with an excellent second at the same track in November. Sub-par efforts both starts since, though. Proved he retains most of his ability when second in major handicap in November. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (40/1 -43%) Broken Quest |
40/1(-43%) | (9) Broken Quest 40/1, Won 3 on the bounce during spring 2022 but failed to get his head in front last season and entitled to need the run following 13 months off. Not seen since respectable sixth in 2023 Veterans' Final but resumes on 7lb lower mark. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
There was enough encouragement to be taken from RAMSES DE TEILLEE's reappearance fourth at Warwick last month to suggest that he has a race of this nature in him. The five-time chase winner now races off his last winning mark and he's taken to do the business. Musical Slave, who landed the spoils in last year's renewal, should appreciate a return to this course. The Getaway gelding is feared most, ahead of Good Boy Bobby.
RAMSES DE TEILLEE is on an appealing mark and is likely to strip fitter for his comeback run, so he's worth supporting to build on his excellent effort in the 2023 renewal of this. Wayfinder and Fiddlerontheroof, both debutants in veterans' races, are also of interest.
Thorough stayer RAMSES DE TEILLEE ran well for a long way in last month's Veterans' Final and might dominate from the front here.

1st (1) (4/11 +37%) Cantico |
4/11(+37%) | (1) Cantico 4/11, Won sole start in points before a promising third of 12 in bumper at Leopardstown (16f, good to soft, 5/4) on NH debut 47 days ago. Has more to offer and rates a big player. Clear Leopardstown third a Cheltenham possible and should take plenty of beating now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (13/2 -18%) Olympy De Cerisy |
13/2(-18%) | (4) Olympy De Cerisy 13/2, Easy winner sole start in points but he failed to land the odds when third of 5 in bumper at Limerick (16f, heavy) on NH debut 12 days ago. Capable of better. Recent staying-on Limerick third will relish this stiffer stamina test. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (9/1 -64%) Lough Owel |
9/1(-64%) | (3) Lough Owel 9/1, Cost €255,000 after striking at the third time of asking in points last April. Made an encouraging start under Rules when runner-up in Limerick bumper 46 days ago and looks open to improvement. Limerick second needs to up his game to go one better here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (16/1 -60%) On The Steel |
16/1(-60%) | (5) On The Steel 16/1, Mount Nelson gelding who came in third of 8 in bumper (15/2) at Roscommon (15.9f, soft) on NH debut 139 days ago. Considered. Roscommon debut promise but lack of a recent run a concern in these conditions. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (9/1 +0%) Holddoor |
9/1(+0%) | (2) Holddoor 9/1, El Salvador gelding. Dam lightly raced/little show on Flat. Trainer going well and represents top owner but market can prove a good guide. Belated debut for homebred 8yo son of El Salvador and the first foal of a modest maiden. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
CANTICO won a Liscarroll point-to-point for Andy Slattery last spring and was well-backed on his debut under Rules in a bumper at the Leopardstown Christmas meeting when third to Goldinthemountains. The son of Diamond Boy should benefit from that run and is taken to beat Lough Owel, who also won between the flags last season but was no match for the selection's stablemate Hens Tooth on his bumper debut at Limerick. Holddoor is an interesting newcomer and one to note in the market with John Gleeson booked, while point winner Olympy De Cerisy has loses to recover after finishing third at Limerick recently.
CANTICO shaped well on his debut for Willie Mullins when third in a Leopardstown bumper and this winning pointer can build on it and prove too strong for Gordon Elliott's Lough Owel, who also looks to have better days ahead of him judged on his Limerick bumper second.
Still a Cheltenham possible CANTICO shouldn't need to improve on his debut Leopardstown third to land this

8/1(+0%) | (1) Ben Solo 8/1, £60,000 purchase after winning an Irish point last February. His half-brother Top Dog was a useful bumper winner. 9/1, encouraging third of 6 in bumper at Wincanton (15.2f, soft) on NH debut 30 days ago. Irish point winner; pretty good start to rules career when third at Wincanton last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) (66/1 +18%) Nelson's Shadow |
66/1(+18%) | (6) Nelson's Shadow 66/1, Well held in 2 bumpers. A well-beaten outsider in two bumpers towards end of last year; can't be recommended. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
Staff Sergeant Len almost defied market expectations when a close-up second at Fontwell a fortnight ago and the four-year-old will be out to put his experience to good use. However, there are some intriguing newcomers on show, with Rules debutant TEESHAN topping the bill. The gelded son of Westerner romped home by a staggering 41 lengths on his sole point-to-point start and really could be anything. Sawdust boasts a similar profile and isn't taken lightly.
TEESHAN was an easy winner of his sole start in Irish points so is taken to make a winning debut under Rules for top connections. Staff Sergeant Len only just failed at Fontwell 2 weeks ago so rates a threat along with newcomers Sawdust and Thomas Rainwater.
The most interesting runner is TEESHAN, who impressed on his Irish point debut in October.
Ths is the racecard key.
