1st (8) ![]() Quian |
11/1(-120%) | (8) Quian 11/1, Not disgraced when fourth of 7 in 2m Musselburgh handicap on his recent first outing for the Lizzie Quinlan stable. Needs to build on that now stepping back up in trip. Below par on recent stable debut but a case can be made on his late 2024 form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) ![]() Reforme |
14/1(+58%) | (1) Reforme 14/1, Fair form when reaching the frame on his first 2 outings over hurdles for Lucinda Russell but well held in handicaps at Taunton and Windsor for new stable in recent months. Down the field at big odds in both handicaps and needs to leave those runs miles behind. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) ![]() Limerick Leader |
4/1(+56%) | (4) Limerick Leader 4/1, Scored at Perth in September on his final run for Olly Murphy and has made a respectable start for his new yard when fourth in handicaps at Exeter and Ffos Las in recent weeks. Thereabouts. Respectable fourth on both outings for this yard and he might not be far away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) ![]() Present Fair |
12/1(+14%) | (3) Present Fair 12/1, Won a 2m Uttoxeter handicap hurdle in the mud last winter. Matched that form when third over 2½m at Worcester in June but he hasn't been at his best in 2 comeback runs in recent months. Down to a handy mark but tailed off the last twice and needs to turn things around. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) ![]() Be The Difference |
6/1(+14%) | (2) Be The Difference 6/1, Allowed to build up an insurmountable lead when winning an amateur riders' event over 25f here in December. Unable to poach as big a lead back here on New Year's Day and weakened into sixth. Drops back in trip now. Won here last month; tailed off here since but he's not written off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) ![]() Coco Lightning |
3/2(+33%) | (6) Coco Lightning 3/2, Took a step back in the right direction when third of 15 in 2½m Fairyhouse handicap hurdle for new trainer Cian Collins 15 days ago. Big player for a stable no stranger to success in Britain. 0-17 but good third on recent stable debut and this Irish raider is firmly in calculations. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) ![]() Dorcas Road |
8/1(+50%) | (9) Dorcas Road 8/1, Yet to trouble the judge after 7 attempts, including 2 handicaps for this yard towards the end of 2024. The stable is among the winners, though, so a market move would be interesting. Pulled up/soundly beaten on both starts for this yard and she's now 0-7. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (5) ![]() Blame Rose |
12/1(-243%) | (5) Blame Rose 12/1, Maiden but her in-frame efforts at Kelso and over C&D in recent months show that she can be competitive from her basement mark. Two wins last spring; key player if at the top of her game on this first run since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) ![]() Call Him Now |
20/1(-25%) | (7) Call Him Now 20/1, Went backwards from reappearance when down the field at Doncaster last Friday. The stable's good recent record in this race provides hope but he's hard to make a case for on form. Represents in-form yard but he was tailed off at Doncaster only last Friday. |
BLAME ROSE improved considerably at the end of last season by winning twice from her last three starts - at Carlisle and Hexham. This doesn't appear to be a contest with much depth on paper and it wouldn't be a surprise if she could make a successful return to action. Quian may step forward on his second start following wind surgery and a stable switch, while Limerick Leader and Be The Difference complete the shortlist.
Irish raider COCO LIGHTNING made a positive start for new trainer Cian Collins at Fairyhouse recently and is given a chance to confirm that promise. Fellow long-distance traveller Limerick Leader may give the selection most to do ahead of Blame Rose.
Irish raider COCO LIGHTNING is 0-17 but she was a promising third on her recent stable debut and this could be a good opportunity.

1st (4) ![]() Pierrot Jaguen |
2/9(+58%) | (4) Pierrot Jaguen 2/9, Point winner who fetched plenty both times he's gone through the ring (£200,000 latest) and shaped with plenty of promise when third in 2m4f maiden hurdle at Cheltenham on New Year's Day, travelling well for a long way. Sure to improve and fancied to take all the beating. £200,000 buy and his third at Cheltenham (2m4f, soft) is the best form in this; Gr1 entry. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) ![]() Better Off Alone |
100/1(-203%) | (1) Better Off Alone 100/1, €13,000 3-y-o, Ocovango gelding. Runner-up on second of 2 starts in Irish points and given a considerate introduction to hurdling at Worcester in October. Well beaten in the face of a stiff task at Cheltenham the following month. Beaten 40l at Worcester (2m4f, soft) and remote at Cheltenham (2m4f, good) next time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) ![]() Taita Hills |
13/2(-18%) | (6) Taita Hills 13/2, £35,000 purchase after getting off the mark in Irish points at the third time of asking and showed more than first time up over hurdles upped in trip when second in 12-runner novice at this course (19.5f) last month. The still longer trip promises to suit and probably hasn't shown all he can. Near-10l second here (extended 2m3f, soft) last month, with encouragement for longer trips. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) ![]() Seatoit |
6/1(+25%) | (5) Seatoit 6/1, Fair form in bumpers/maiden hurdles, running to a similar level as on hurdling debut when fourth in 10-runner maiden at Uttoxeter (23f, heavy) last month. Significant ability on good to soft in his two maiden hurdles, 2m7f at Uttoxeter last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) ![]() Just A Memory |
16/1(-220%) | (7) Just A Memory 16/1, Fitter for a run and showed more than first time up over hurdles upped markedly in trip when splitting a fairly useful pair at Southwell (3m) at the beginning of the month. May do better still. Clear best effort when second of six in novice hurdle at Southwell (3m, soft) last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) ![]() By George |
66/1(-230%) | (2) By George 66/1, Order of St George gelding. Well held only start in points and shaped like a stayer when third in 6-runner bumper at Fontwell on Rules debut last month, plugging on. Longer trip an obvious plus on this switch to hurdling but needs plenty of improvement all the same. Well beaten in his sole point and modest form in a Fontwell bumper. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) ![]() Diagon Alley |
200/1(-100%) | (3) Diagon Alley 200/1, Runner-up sole outing in Irish points but has made no impact in bumper/maiden hurdles (tongue tied last time). His three runs under rules have left a lot to be desired; blinkers go on. |
There was plenty of encouragement to be taken from PIERROT JAGUEN's third-placed Rules bow over an extended 2m4f at Cheltenham on New Year's Day and a breakthrough victory looms. Olly Murphy's gelding had little difficulty in scoring over 3m between the flags and he is hard to oppose. The biggest threat may emerge from Just A Memory, who arrives on the back of a respectable second at Southwell. Taita Hills and Seatoit are others to note.
PIERROT JAGUEN made a most promising start under Rules when third at Cheltenham on New Year's Day and will surely take all the beating with improvement on the cards. Taita Hills, Just A Memory and Seatoit can battle it out for minor honours.
Following a promising debut under rules at Cheltenham, PIERROT JAGUEN looks to have a good opportunity. Just A Memory is next best.

1st (8) ![]() Return With Gold |
10/1(+29%) | (8) Return With Gold 10/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 200/1, eighth of 10 in novice at this course (1m) 59 days ago. Up in trip. One of 2 handicap newcomers from the stable. Down the field in novices at long odds; not sure to stay this extra 2f on pedigree. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) ![]() Salaria |
18/1(-13%) | (5) Salaria 18/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Fifth of 9 in novice (200/1) at Southwell (1m) 71 days ago, left with lot to do. Up in trip. Makes handicap debut. Didn't progress in 7f/1m races but could take form to higher level now up in distance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) ![]() Flaine |
9/1(+25%) | (7) Flaine 9/1, Latest win at Southwell (1m) in December but ran poorly at Wolverhampton (8.6f) later that month, racing lazily. Bounce back needed. Disappointing latest start but in fine form before then; longer distance should be fine. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) ![]() Rosco Rogers |
5/4(+58%) | (4) Rosco Rogers 5/4, Fair form. Good third of 9 in handicap at Kempton (1½m, 7/1) 16 days ago. Considered under Billy Loughnane. Knocking at the door, beaten narrowly at Wolverhampton and Kempton; leading contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) ![]() Sweet Cicely |
15/2(-25%) | (3) Sweet Cicely 15/2, Creditable fourth of 8 in handicap at this course (7f, 6/1) 20 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Should be thereabouts if her stamina holds. Fourth over 7f here three weeks ago; bred to be suited by today's extra yardage. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) ![]() Antiquity |
2/1(-33%) | (1) Antiquity 2/1, Career best when winning 11-runner handicap (6/1) at Lingfield (1m) 9 days ago. Did that readily and should be very competitive under a 6 lb penalty. Improvement on handicap debut when winning at Lingfield; big player under 6lb penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) ![]() Sopelana |
16/1(+20%) | (6) Sopelana 16/1, Modest form. Tenth of 13 in handicap at Chelmsford (1m, 33/1) 22 days ago. Up in trip. Makes tapeta debut. Others are more persuasive. Seems to be treading water and today's longer trip isn't certain to suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) ![]() National Voice |
33/1(-106%) | (2) National Voice 33/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 150/1, fifth of 9 in novice at Lingfield (7f) 31 days ago. Significantly up in trip for handicap debut. Check the betting. Yet to make the frame but not without hope now tackling a handicap over a longer trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) ![]() General Gordon |
50/1(-52%) | (9) General Gordon 50/1, Poor form. Fourth of 7 in handicap at this course (7f, 20/1) 10 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Looks exposed as poor; needs this longer trip to bring about some improvement. |
ANTIQUITY came in for sustained market support ahead of his handicap debut and rewarded it with a one-length triumph at Lingfield last week. A 6lb penalty means he competes off a mark 2lb higher than his revised figure, but he should have plenty more to offer. Rosco Rogers has gone desperately close to breaking his duck the last twice and his turn will surely come sooner rather than later. Sweet Cicely is also expected to find herself in the winner's circle before too long.
ANTIQUITY ran out a pretty comfortable winner on last week's 1m handicap debut and a 6 lb penalty may not prevent him following up with further progress possible. Rosco Rogers has gone close in both handicaps and heads the dangers along with Richard Fahey's Sweet Cicely.
Recent Lingfield scorer Antiquity is an obvious candidate but preference is for ROSCO ROGERS who has been knocking at the door.

1st (5) ![]() Valence D'aumont |
8/1(+33%) | (5) Valence D'aumont 8/1, Tumbled down the weights and finished a well-beaten third on both outings in November. Fitted with cheekpieces and beaten before stamina for 3m came into play at Southwell. Down in the weights and yard going better now. A long time since this 11yo has been competitive but he's down to a dangerous mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) ![]() Kings Justice |
15/2(+25%) | (6) Kings Justice 15/2, Did well over fences last season, winning once and runner-up on 3 other occasions (including in this race). Almost certainly needed the run back hurdling last month and this will reveal more. Good C&D form last season and he could leave last month's return to action well behind. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) ![]() Shattered Soldier |
5/2(+44%) | (2) Shattered Soldier 5/2, Wide-margin winner on fifth start in Irish points and showed ability sent hurdling when third of 4 in novice at Musselburgh (19.8f, good to soft) in November. Not quite in the same form at Catterick a month later but connections quick to tackle fences switched to handicaps. Point winner who is sent straight over fences for his handicap debut; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) ![]() One Last Glance |
5/1(-100%) | (4) One Last Glance 5/1, Belatedly off the mark in handicap hurdle at Stratford (16.3f, heavy) on return in October and also opened chase account at Fakenham despite a few mistakes a month ago. 6 lb rise asks for more but he's clearly in good order. Won by 7l at Fakenham; race looked weak but he could have more to offer in the cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) ![]() Halpha Soleil |
9/2(+25%) | (3) Halpha Soleil 9/2, Looked better than ever when winning over hurdles at Hexham in June. Probably needed the run in a handicap there on chase debut in December and merely matched that form at Newcastle a fortnight ago. Brian Hughes takes over. Fair 5th at Newcastle last time in better race than this; trainer has won last 2 runnings. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) ![]() Whoshotthesheriff |
13/2(-86%) | (1) Whoshotthesheriff 13/2, Useful chaser in his prime. Lost his way for Phil Kirby but shaped as though retaining a portion of his ability from his much-reduced mark both outings for this yard. Off 2 months on the back of a breathing op and he now looks a major player. On a long losing run but hints of spark in the autumn and perhaps the wind op will help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) ![]() Cudgel |
16/1(+0%) | (7) Cudgel 16/1, All 6 career wins have been registered at Hexham but always behind there on return and never able to land a blow over C&D a month ago. On a handy mark on form as recent as last June but well beaten on both outings this winter. |
One Last Glance won in decisive fashion when gaining a first success over the larger obstacles at Fakenham on New Year's Day and hasn't been too harshly treated with a 6lb rise. Halpha Soleil didn't run badly when fifth at Newcastle and may have more to offer in this sphere, but chasing newcomer SHATTERED SOLDIER gets the vote. The six-year-old didn't build on the promise of his Musselburgh third when ridden more forcefully here last month, but he comes from a stable that does particularly well with their chasers and his point-to-point experience should prove valuable.
Having tumbled in the weights, WHOSHOTTHESHERIFF hasn't looked a lost cause for new connections and with a breathing op perhaps helping him in the finishing department, he's worth risking. One Last Glance is feared as a last-time-out winner, while a case of sorts can be made for Shattered Soldier and Valence D'aumont.
Kings Justice is tempting but preference is for HALPHA SOLEIL, who was a fair fifth at Newcastle recently in a higher grade.

1st (3) ![]() Havaila |
11/2(+39%) | (3) Havaila 11/2, Fair winner at 20f over hurdles. 15/2 and visored for 1st time, creditable third of 5 in handicap chase at Exeter (19.2f, heavy) 30 days ago. Back up in trip and in the mix. No impact in his three chases (one C&D) but he's been dropped 9lb as a result. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) ![]() Fortunefavorsdbold |
5/2(+67%) | (5) Fortunefavorsdbold 5/2, C&D winner who posted a solid third of 7 in handicap chase (22/1) at Chepstow (26.2f, heavy) 26 days ago. Needs considering. Well treated judged on her Huntingdon and C&D wins in the mud last February/March. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) ![]() Racing Snake |
40/1(-150%) | (8) Racing Snake 40/1, Points winner but lightly-raced maiden under Rules and pulled up in handicap chase at Leicester (22.7f, soft, 11/1) 34 days ago. Cheekpieces on for 1st time. No solid form under rules; 756 days off before latest outing; tries headgear first time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) ![]() Good Friday Fairy |
6/1(+25%) | (2) Good Friday Fairy 6/1, Ridden more patiently than usual when a good second of 10 in handicap chase at Exeter (24.2f, heavy) 30 days ago. Holds solid claims off an unchanged mark. 12l second of ten at Exeter (first 3m form, soft) on latest outing, coming from last. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) ![]() Haut Folin |
4/1(-60%) | (1) Haut Folin 4/1, Has made a very positive start to present campaign, runner-up over C&D and in 3m1f handicap chase at Ffos Las when hindered by a blunder 3 out. Big shout. Just 1-14 in Britain, the win first time out last term; 2nd both starts this term, though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) ![]() Always Busy |
5/2(-33%) | (4) Always Busy 5/2, 2/1, career best when easily winning 10-runner handicap chase at Warwick (25.4f, good to soft) 11 days ago. Likely player under a 7 lb penalty. Two 2nds before 10l win at Warwick (3m1f, good to soft) 11 days ago; well in with penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) ![]() Imperial Hurricane |
10/1(+44%) | (7) Imperial Hurricane 10/1, Off 21 months before coming in only tenth of 11 in handicap chase at this C&D (soft) 53 days ago. Needs to take a major step forward. No serious impact in a bumper, five hurdle races or two chases; 627 days off before latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) ![]() Mister Murchan |
22/1(+33%) | (6) Mister Murchan 22/1, Seventeen runs since his last win in 2021 and pulled up in handicap chase at Fontwell (21.6f, soft, 50/1) 52 days ago, behind from early final circuit. Hard to warm to. 2-21 over fences, latest win January 2021; twice a runner-up on heavy ground last March. |
Having filled the runner-up spot both here and at Ffos Las last month, Haut Folin should give another good account. However, a 5lb rise may be enough to prevent him from landing the spoils and recent Warwick winner ALWAYS BUSY gets the vote. Christian Williams' inmate scored with plenty in hand 11 days ago and looks capable of defying a 7lb penalty. Good Friday Fairy is another to note.
HAUT FOLIN was well clear of the rest when runner-up at Ffos Las last time out and can gain a deserved first victory of the season here, at the chief expense of Good Friday Fairy who also shaped well when second at Exeter recently and is a big threat to Venetia Williams' top-weight. Recent Warwick scorer Always Busy is another who can have a say in a competitive handicap.
Standout claims belong to ALWAYS BUSY thanks to his impressive win at Warwick 11 days ago, for which he is given a 7lb penalty today.

1st (1) ![]() Flying Scotsman |
11/2(-10%) | (1) Flying Scotsman 11/2, Twelve runs since last win in 2022. 15/2, respectable fourth of 9 in handicap at this course (2m), never nearer. Off 95 days. Back down in trip. Blinkers back on. Dropped a long way in weights; creditable 4th in better C&D race on penultimate start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) ![]() Duchess |
17/2(+66%) | (8) Duchess 17/2, Eighth of 12 in handicap (33/1) at Wolverhampton (1½m) 35 days ago. Needs a couple of these to falter. Won on return to action last May (1m); stays 1m2f but still has stamina questions at 1m4f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) ![]() Opticality |
5/1(+0%) | (3) Opticality 5/1, Last of 10 in handicap at Southwell (1½m) 42 days ago but had been runner-up on both starts prior to that. Capable of bouncing back with Billy Loughnane taking the reins. Both wins on Tapeta elsewhere; running well for new yard until poor at Southwell latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) ![]() Yakhabar |
20/1(-25%) | (4) Yakhabar 20/1, C&D winner. Sixth of 7 in C&D handicap 17 days ago. Others are more persuasive. Two C&D wins in 2024; well treated now but twice beaten out of sight since back from break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) ![]() Letmeseethecolts |
8/11(+42%) | (5) Letmeseethecolts 8/11, Career best when winning 7-runner classified event (5/2) at Southwell (11f) 17 days ago, well on top finish. Looks on a good mark back in a handicap. Improved since back from a break, cosy winner of 1m3f classified latest; may do better yet. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) ![]() Star Of Markinch |
18/1(-125%) | (7) Star Of Markinch 18/1, 9-y-o maiden. 14/1, creditable third of 9 in handicap at this course (2m) 21 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Back down in trip. Place claims again. Maiden; close call over 2m here in December; not quite as good next time; now back at 1m4f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) ![]() Pilgrim Of Culture |
125/1(-279%) | (2) Pilgrim Of Culture 125/1, 100/1, first run since leaving Karl Burke when last of 9 in handicap at Southwell (1½m) 28 days ago. Can only watch after that. Has form at this trip but finished remote on debut for new yard after a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) ![]() Typewritten |
11/1(+31%) | (6) Typewritten 11/1, Unreliable sort. Twenty one runs since last win in 2022. Respectable sixth of 11 in handicap (9/1) at Wolverhampton (16.5f) 13 days ago, left poorly placed. Back down in trip. Never threatened at Wolverhampton latest but two fair efforts at 1m4f/2m here previously. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) ![]() Cage Rattler |
16/1(-14%) | (9) Cage Rattler 16/1, Just poor on the Flat these days, beaten 11 lengths when second of 7 in C&D handicap (80/1) 17 days ago. Others are preferred. Won over 7f in Ireland; well held more often than not in Britain; recent 2nd was remote. |
LETMESEETHECOLTS boosted her confidence with a breakthrough victory in a classified event at Southwell and is capable of making an impact in handicap company off this sort of figure. Cage Rattler occupied the runner-up berth over C&D but he was beaten a long way and a bigger threat might come in the shape of Star Of Markinch, who has shown she retains plenty of enthusiasm for the game with placed efforts over the extended two miles here.
Recent Southwell classified winner LETMESEETHECOLTS looks well treated back in a handicap from a mark in the low-50s. Opticality's latest effort was too bad to be true and she could provide the chief threat if back to the form she showed when runner-up twice in the autumn. Star of Markinch may prove best of the rest.
A few of these have plenty to prove but LETMESEETHECOLTS won a minor race at Southwell in pleasing style and may improve further.

1st (6) ![]() Turn And Finish |
2/9(+44%) | (6) Turn And Finish 2/9, Fairly useful form when placed in 3 juvenile hurdles for Joseph O'Brien in Ireland towards the end of 2024. Has joined another good stable and sets a high standard. Tough to beat on stable debut if reproducing anything like his best Irish form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) ![]() Maple |
5/1(+38%) | (4) Maple 5/1, Has reached the frame on all 3 completed starts in juvenile hurdles for this yard, on the latest finishing second of 8 at Musselburgh (soft) on New Year's Day. Ought to be on the premises again. Runner-up on two of his four hurdle starts and has the second-best form in this field. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) ![]() Bursinel |
16/1(+0%) | (1) Bursinel 16/1, Fair maiden on the Flat for William Haggas. Off 5 months, might have needed the run when eleventh of 20 in juvenile at Punchestown (16.5f, soft) on hurdle debut 26 days ago. May do better. Well beaten on hurdle debut but fair on the Flat and he's not ruled out for a place. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) ![]() Zenato |
6/1(+8%) | (7) Zenato 6/1, Won in the mud on the Flat at Nottingham (1¼m) for Ed Dunlop in October. Showed an aptitude for hurdling when third in Taunton juvenile for new stable 2 months later. May do better. 1m2f Flat winner; fair third on hurdle debut; can be firmly involved in battle for places. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) ![]() Miaswell |
80/1(-142%) | (5) Miaswell 80/1, Fair dual 1m Flat winner for David O'Meara. Offered something to work on when fifth of 11 on C&D hurdle debut but disappointingly failed to build on that when well behind the reopposing Maple at Musselburgh on New Year's Day. Fair two-time Flat winner but unable to threaten this winter on first two hurdle starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) ![]() Likleman |
150/1(-200%) | (3) Likleman 150/1, Modest miler on the Flat and far from an obvious type to make a winning start over hurdles. Just 1-25 on the Flat and very modest in that code nowadays; he would be a surprise winner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) ![]() Remarkable Flight |
33/1(-65%) | (8) Remarkable Flight 33/1, Fair winner on the Flat for Charlie Hills. Achieved very little when second of 2 finishers on Leicester hurdle debut in November and will need to step up considerably to trouble Turn And Finish. Two Flat wins but at an ordinary level, and her hurdle debut form looks very modest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) ![]() Delayed Charm |
150/1(-50%) | (2) Delayed Charm 150/1, Showed little on the Flat for Anthony Carson and pulled up on Sedgefield hurdle debut in October. Outsider again. Showed very little on the Flat and pulled up on hurdle debut at Sedgefield in October. |
Harry Derham has had a welcome return to the winner's enclosure after a difficult period and recent acquisition TURN AND FINISH is expected to continue the upturn in yard form. Placed on three occasions in Irish juvenile hurdles for Joseph O'Brien, his second at Cork in December to a former stable companion was arguably his best effort to date and he wouldn't need to be anywhere near that level to get off the mark. Maple and Zenato can fight it out for the minor honours.
TURN AND FINISH should prove very hard to beat on his first outing for Harry Derham. Maple and Zenato are taken to fill the places.
This revolves around TURN AND FINISH, who showed strong form in Ireland for Joseph O'Brien and stands out as the one to beat.

1st (3) ![]() Disco Davis |
4/5(+73%) | (3) Disco Davis 4/5, Looked the likeliest winner on first 2 starts over hurdles, going best when falling at the last at Uttoxeter (19.9f) in October. Completed for the first time when fifth of 13 in an Exeter novice (16.7f, heavy) last time and remains capable of better. Fell late on twice; Exeter fifth is the best form but he faces some with potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) ![]() Drayton Flyer |
10/3(-142%) | (4) Drayton Flyer 10/3, Good sort physically who shaped with plenty of encouragement when finding only another promising newcomer from the same stable too good in a Wetherby bumper (2m) on Rules debut over the Christmas period. Interesting hurdling debutant. 8-1, stayed on encouragingly for 2nd of 12 in Wetherby bumper (good to soft) at Christmas. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) ![]() Blue Bellamy |
4/1(+20%) | (2) Blue Bellamy 4/1, Placed 3 times from 4 completed starts in points and fair form when placed all 3 outings in bumpers. Could go well on hurdling debut. Placed in three of his points and minor honours in three bumpers (two on soft); in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) ![]() Passing Pleasure |
80/1(-21%) | (7) Passing Pleasure 80/1, Runner-up on last of 3 starts in Irish points in April but little promise in 2 runs over hurdles. Tailed off from early stage when 80-1 at Newbury (2m, soft) last time; looks one for later. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) ![]() One Million Dreams |
5/1(+58%) | (6) One Million Dreams 5/1, Modest form only outing on Flat in France and similar form over hurdles, shaping better than the distance beaten suggests when third in 6-runner maiden at Fakenham (20f) last month, weakening from 2 out. Has shown some ability in France and Britain; markedly better is surely needed, though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) ![]() Bertie The Rebel |
66/1(+34%) | (1) Bertie The Rebel 66/1, Better effort in bumpers when third of 5 at Stratford on debut in October but went backwards at Southwell 10 weeks on. 11l third of five at Stratford (soft) but tailed off in another bumper at Southwell. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) ![]() One For Hadley |
100/1(-203%) | (5) One For Hadley 100/1, Hooded and showed rather more temperament than ability when well held in a Plumpton bumper on debut early last month, going in snatches. Easy enough to oppose making a quick switch to hurdling. 25-1 and hooded when no show in bumper at Plumpton (good to soft) two months ago. |
DRAYTON FLYER should have learned plenty from his second-placed debut in a bumper at Wetherby last month and he looks just the type to excel over obstacles. This looks a good starting point for the son of Lauro and he may possess enough ability to overpower the experienced Disco Davis. Dan Skelton's charge completed over timber for the first time when fifth at Exeter and the six-year-old isn't taken lightly. Blue Bellamy may fare best of the remainder.
DISCO DAVIS has had a mightily unlucky start to his hurdling career having looked the likely winner when falling late on his first 2 outings and, with his completed start in this sphere at Exeter certainly no backwards step either, he’s taken to record a deserved success. Drayton Flyer made a highly promising start to his career when runner-up to a stablemate in a Wetherby bumper and rates the main threat ahead of Elforleather and Blue Bellamy.
It would not be a great shock were DRAYTON FLYER to find the improvement he needs after his second in a Wetherby bumper.

1st (4) ![]() Buzz Box |
9/4(+25%) | (4) Buzz Box 9/4, Course winner. Shaped better than the result when fifth of 9 over C&D (16/5) 34 days ago, not clear run. Shortlist material. Good second here in December and repeatedly met trouble next time; might be the answer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) ![]() Darlo Pride |
7/2(+22%) | (6) Darlo Pride 7/2, Three wins from 17 runs last year, including C&D last month. Badly hampered and can have latest C&D run ignored. One to consider. Reliable sort who had an excuse when a beaten favourite last time; has to be considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) ![]() Our Absent Friends |
5/2(+64%) | (1) Our Absent Friends 5/2, C&D winner. Respectable fourth of 10 in C&D handicap 6 days ago. Tongue strap back on. Mostly in good form of late and better than bare result last time; unlikely to be far away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) ![]() Sugar Baby |
28/1(+30%) | (9) Sugar Baby 28/1, C&D winner but last of 8 on recent return from a 14-month absence. Can only be watched after that. Should come on for C&D reappearance run (80-1) but might need today's as well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) ![]() Winter Crown |
9/1(+18%) | (3) Winter Crown 9/1, C&D winner. Eighth of 10 on C&D reappearance 6 days ago. Needs to have come on a lot in a short time. 0-8 since 3yo win and no threat here on reappearance; others have less to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) ![]() Ramon Di Loria |
9/1(+36%) | (10) Ramon Di Loria 9/1, C&D winner. 25/1, fifth of 8 in C&D handicap C&D 21 days ago. Could strip fitter for that first outing in over 3 months. Hood back on. Encouraging reappearance when fifth over C&D; has dropped below his last winning mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) ![]() Strong Johnson |
4/1(+0%) | (2) Strong Johnson 4/1, C&D winner in November. Creditable second of 7 in handicap (15/2) at this C&D 23 days ago. Likely to be in the mix again. Found only the revitalised Mondammej too strong over C&D; fair chance off unchanged mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) ![]() Cast No Shadow |
18/1(-64%) | (5) Cast No Shadow 18/1, C&D winner. Visored first time, third of 6 in C&D handicap 17 days ago. Blinkers on now. Signs of return to form when third over C&D 17 days ago; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) ![]() Wrestling Revenue |
28/1(-100%) | (7) Wrestling Revenue 28/1, 17/2, first run since leaving Tony Carroll when last of 7 in C&D handicap 29 days ago. Needs to leave that behind. Didn't show much on stable debut four weeks ago and his AW record is modest. |
Strong Johnson is still a reliable sprinter at the age of nine and is likely to go hard from the stalls again. Our Absent Friends' C&D fourth was a step back in the right direction, but CAST NO SHADOW also showed more signs of life when third over track and trip and the visor that was fitted there is now replaced by blinkers. If they inspire just a touch more improvement, he can capitalise on a sliding rating. Darlo Pride is noted too.
BUZZ BOX didn't get much room to work with over C&D last time and gets another chance to show he's on a good mark with Billy Loughnane in the saddle for the first time. Darlo Pride and Strong Johnson have been in good heart this winter and head the dangers.
The vote goes to the lightly raced BUZZ BOX who found only a resurgent Mondammej too strong two outings ago and met trouble last time.

1st (6) ![]() We Got Your Back |
9/4(+18%) | (6) We Got Your Back 9/4, Fallen to a basement mark and, back from 4 months off/refitted with a hood, got off the mark when taking 5-runner handicap chase at Leicester (15.9f) 5 weeks ago. 3 lb rise looks fair and he's expected to be firmly in the mix again. Off the mark in first-time hood at Leicester and a 3lb rise could prove lenient. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) ![]() Stick With Me Sam |
3/1(+40%) | (4) Stick With Me Sam 3/1, Related to plenty of winners and made more impact than previously with a tongue tie fitted when runner-up on second chase start at Warwick (16.2, soft) 31 days ago. Worth bearing in mind from his lowly mark. Runner-up at Warwick on second chase start and in the mix if backing that up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) ![]() Flash Du Pistolet |
11/2(+39%) | (1) Flash Du Pistolet 11/2, Ex-pointer who is winless under Rules but leaves the impression there's a bigger effort in his locker, losing his place at a vital stage before keeping on again late when fifth at Market Rasen (17.2f) 2 weeks ago. Eased 3 lb ahead of this and he's one to bear in mind. A couple of fair efforts over fences this season but soundly beaten in fifth last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) ![]() Pescatorius |
4/1(-20%) | (5) Pescatorius 4/1, Getaway gelding who capitalised on falling mark to shed maiden tag in 6-runner C&D handicap over Christmas. Got no further than the second when unseating at Warwick (16.2f) 3 days later but he remains lightly raced in this sphere and may yet have a little more to offer. Won in good style over C&D last month and could still be well treated up 7lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) ![]() Hazard Collonges |
6/1(+14%) | (3) Hazard Collonges 6/1, Still looking for first success but turned in another creditable display from his reduced mark, finding only a lower-mileage chaser too strong at Sedgefield (16.3f) last week. Each-way claims again from unchanged mark. Fair effort at Sedgefield on Sunday but remains a maiden and takes on progressive types. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) ![]() Badlands Boy |
18/1(-13%) | (2) Badlands Boy 18/1, Improved for fitting of cheekpieces when keeping on for second at Ludlow (15.7f) in November. However, ended up finishing well beaten at Taunton next time and a 50-day break/switch to chasing needs to have positive effect now. Cheekpieces retained. Patchy form over hurdles but runner-up two starts ago and may make a better chaser. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) ![]() Cofficionado |
9/1(-80%) | (7) Cofficionado 9/1, Failed to kick on from a promising handicap debut effort over hurdles but back on track switched to chasing, keeping on under a patient ride when chasing home Pescatorius over C&D 5 weeks ago. This appeals as a tougher assignment, however. No match for Pescatorius over C&D last time but he's 7lb better off with the winner today. |
A drop in trip worked the oracle for WE GOT YOUR BACK, who was able to record a first career success at Leicester last month. Laura Morgan's charge is only 3lb higher and, in a race lacking depth, he wouldn't need much more to go in again. Pescatorius bolted up over C&D before unseating at Warwick three days later, but he remains of interest along with Hazard Collonges, whose form has been largely consistent since being switched to fences.
A competitive contest with the narrow vote in favour of STICK WITH ME SAM. Tom Gretton's 6-y-o stepped up markedly on his chase debut when chasing home a next-time-out winner at Warwick 31 days ago and that effort confirmed he's one to be interested in from this sort of mark. We Got Your Back was never stronger than at the finish when successful at Leicester on his latest outing and he's a big threat. Flash du Pistolet and Pescatorius also enter the reckoning.
Having impressed over C&D last month, PESCATORIUS earns the vote for the in-form Harriet Dickin. Stick With Me Sam is a danger.

11/2(+61%) | (9) Sporting Ace 11/2, Visored for 1st time, below-form fifth of 11 in handicap chase at Exeter (24.2f, soft, 22/1) 43 days ago. Not ruled out with the headgear dispensed with. Fair second on reappearance but heavy defeats both starts since; headgear is removed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) ![]() Passing Well |
10/3(+49%) | (5) Passing Well 10/3, Arrives in good nick, cheekpieces on for 1st time when third of 5 in handicap chase at Wincanton (25.1f, soft) 36 days ago. This course scorer needs considering. Unraced beyond an extended 3m1f but it looks worth a go after his rallying 3rd last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) ![]() Hudson De Grugy |
13/2(+46%) | (6) Hudson De Grugy 13/2, Resumed winning ways at Fontwell in December but pulled up in handicap chase at Newbury (26f, good to soft, 12/1) 34 days ago. Needs to get back on track. Won at Fontwell (extended 2m3f) last month; pulled up either side, upped to 3m2f on latest. |

4th (13) ![]() Saint Xavier |
12/1(-20%) | (13) Saint Xavier 12/1, Veteran resumed winning ways in 7-runner handicap chase at Haydock (28.4f, soft) 32 days ago by 2¾ lengths from The Two Amigos. Up 6 lb but can't be discounted in his current mood. Won from The Two Amigos at Haydock (3m4f, soft); back up 6lb but considered seriously. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) ![]() Christopher Wood |
9/1(-20%) | (8) Christopher Wood 9/1, Seventeen runs since his last win in 2021 but he looked rusty after 9 months off when fifth of 6 in handicap chase at Ludlow (23.8f, soft, 10/3) 44 days ago. Could take a sizeable step forward now. Third to a runaway winner over 3m7f at Musselburgh last February but out of form since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (12) ![]() Everything'sontick |
18/1(-29%) | (12) Everything'sontick 18/1, Scored at Leicester and Plumpton last season but off 10 months since a poor fifth of 7 in handicap chase at Market Rasen (23.9f). Needs to hit the ground running. Has shaped as if he could be an out-and-out stayer; also has a good first-time-out record. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) ![]() Here Comes Mccoy |
5/1(+0%) | (3) Here Comes Mccoy 5/1, Made a promising return when second of 9 in handicap chase at Uttoxeter (24f, soft) 52 days ago, looking the likely winner until blundering at the last. Up in trip and well in the mix. The furthest he's been was 3m2f on heavy at Uttoxeter last January and he won that by 11l. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) ![]() Dr Kananga |
7/1(+36%) | (10) Dr Kananga 7/1, Reliable sort who comes here on the back of a solid sixth of 10 in handicap chase at Sandown (28.7f, soft, 22/1) 55 days ago. Possibilities. Front-running sixth at Sandown (3m4f) wasn't a bad reappearance; stamina not proven. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) ![]() Lady Balko |
10/1(-67%) | (1) Lady Balko 10/1, On the up switched to fences this term, completing hat-trick of handicap wins at Hereford last month, until coming in last of 5 in Newbury Listed event last time. Sort to bounce back. Fine run ended latest; needs to resume improvement and moves into the unknown stamina-wise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) ![]() Major Dundee |
12/1(-118%) | (2) Major Dundee 12/1, Career best when landing the Midlands Grand National in 2023. In the process of running creditably when unseating 2 out in the Eider at Newcastle and should strip fitter with his Bangor reappearance sixth behind him. Weighted to go well. Well suited by extreme tests of stamina and twice ran close to his best last term. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) ![]() The Two Amigos |
15/2(+32%) | (4) The Two Amigos 15/2, 2022 Welsh National victor. Only thrice raced since but posted a good second of 7 to Saint Xavier in handicap chase (20/1) at Haydock (28.4f, soft) 32 days ago. Must enter calculations. Absent 627 days before this season but front-running 2nd to Saint Xavier at Haydock (3m4f). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) ![]() Foxboro |
40/1(-21%) | (11) Foxboro 40/1, Scored at Exeter (30.7f) last December but laboured efforts since, leaving Robert Walford prior to latest outings at Plumpton and Kelso. Others are more appealing. 20l win off 4lb higher at Exeter (3m6f, soft) in December 2023; not nearly so good since. |
Saint Xavier must have a good chance sneaking into this marathon contest off bottom weight following his last-start success over 3m4f at Haydock. The much younger legs of LADY BALKO may prevail, though, as she was in really good form in handicap company prior to having an off-day when upped in class at Newbury just over a fortnight ago. Here Comes McCoy should run his usual honest race and course scorer Passing Well is another to keep an eye on.
Alan King's MAJOR DUNDEE should be all the better for his reappearance Bangor sixth and this former Midlands Grand National victor can capitalise on a handy-looking mark now returned to a marathon trip. Here Comes McCoy is next on the list on the back of his promising Uttoxeter return, with veterans The Two Amigos and Saint Xavier also in the mix in a very open Surrey National.
Hopes for THE TWO AMIGOS have been rekindled by his second at Haydock. Here Comes McCoy, moving up in trip, is feared most.

2nd (4) ![]() Pallas Lord |
5/2(+44%) | (4) Pallas Lord 5/2, 3-time C&D winner. Five wins from 16 runs last year. Respectable fourth of 10 in handicap (9/1) at this C&D 23 days ago. Tongue strap back on. Becoming well treated. Now well handicapped again, shaped nicely last time and most recent win came over C&D. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) ![]() Al Baahy |
10/3(+26%) | (1) Al Baahy 10/3, One win from 35 Flat runs. Nineteen runs since last win in 2023. Seventh of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f, 5/1) 11 days ago. Hood back on. Not taken lightly if shrugging off latest effort. 1-35 but was a good second after Christmas and had an excuse last time; high on the list. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) ![]() Odd Socks Havana |
7/1(+0%) | (5) Odd Socks Havana 7/1, 5-time course winner. 10/1, not disgraced when eighth of 12 in handicap at this course (8f) 59 days ago. Cheekpieces back on now and weighted to go close. No impact recently but return of headgear is a positive; interesting from a reduced mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) ![]() Top Gun Tina |
25/1(-56%) | (9) Top Gun Tina 25/1, Ninth of 11 in minor event at this course (8f, 11/1) 8 days ago. Others appeal more. 12-race maiden; well held over 1m here last week; unconvincing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) ![]() Drakeholes |
9/1(+10%) | (2) Drakeholes 9/1, 4-time C&D winner. Three wins from 14 runs last year. Latest win here in November. Last of 10 in handicap (12/1) at this C&D 23 days ago so needs to bounce back. Two C&D wins last autumn but last two runs have been below par (especially poor on latest). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) ![]() Lumenbourg |
7/1(-40%) | (3) Lumenbourg 7/1, Winner at Doncaster in August. 4/1, seventh of 9 in handicap at Ayr (7.2f, good). Off 113 days. Something to find on form. 7f specialist; winner at Doncaster in 2024; has had four months off since below-par run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) ![]() Yaahobby |
7/1(-8%) | (8) Yaahobby 7/1, C&D winner. 9/1, creditable second of 11 in minor event at this C&D 21 days ago, running on. In the mix again. Won two C&D handicaps last autumn and has remained in form; should be thereabouts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) ![]() Bitacora |
12/1(+0%) | (6) Bitacora 12/1, Lightly-raced maiden on Flat. 125/1 and tongue strap on for 1st time in this code, tailed off when fell 3 out in juvenile hurdle at Fairyhouse (16f, heavy). Off 15 months. First run for yard after leaving Joe Conlon. Watch the betting. Lightly raced and hard to weigh up but needs watching in market for new yard after absence. |
Yaahobby occupied the runner-up berth in a classified stakes over C&D earlier in the month and should remain competitive now that he steps back into the handicap ranks. However, PALLAS LORD gets the nod. Donald Whillans' seven-year-old returned to some sort of form when fourth over track and trip and is now 2lb lower. He competes off 5lb below his last winning mark and could record his eighth course success. Our Dagger completes the shortlist.
ODD SOCKS HAVANA goes really well here and is fancied to bag a sixth success at the track now he is refitted with cheekpieces off a handy-looking mark. C&D winner Yaahobby appeals as the one to chase home Rebecca Menzies' 7-y-o ahead of Pallas Lord and Al Baahy.
This looks a solid opportunity for PALLAS LORD to regain the winning thread. Odd Socks Havana is second choice.

18/1(+28%) | (5) Baby Chou 18/1, Point winner. Yet to get her head in front under Rules but she's not long with this yard and was caught too far back when a remote third over 19f here last month. Worth a betting check stepping up in trip. Won a point-to-point last March but soundly beaten under rules on last three starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) ![]() Cave Article |
7/4(+30%) | (7) Cave Article 7/4, Strong in the betting and made it second time lucky over fences in Sedgefield staying handicap under Brian Hughes 56 days ago. Raised 7 lb but unexposed as a stayer and there's likely more to come. Won when upped to 3m2f at Sedgefield latest; this unexposed 6yo could continue to progress. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) ![]() Archie Brown |
80/1(-142%) | (3) Archie Brown 80/1, Landed a 3m Market Rasen handicap chase in February 2021 but seen out just 4 times since, pulling up over C&D back from his latest absence 5 weeks ago. Pulled up over C&D last month when back from latest long absence and has plenty to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) ![]() Beat The Edge |
15/2(-88%) | (4) Beat The Edge 15/2, In good form for new yard, including a 19f course win on New Year's Day. However, that was a weak 4-runner affair and he's worth taking on for win purposes back up in trip off 4 lb higher. Won over 2m3f here on New Year's Day and ran well over this C&D earlier in his career. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) ![]() Jumbo Veste Verte |
18/1(-80%) | (9) Jumbo Veste Verte 18/1, Poor maiden hurdler who has been comfortably held in handicaps at up to 21f at Leicester and Market Rasen switched to fences in recent months. It remains to be seen whether the step up in trip sparks the necessary improvement. Well treated on best hurdle form but soundly beaten on first two chase starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) ![]() Williamdeconqueror |
11/2(+66%) | (6) Williamdeconqueror 11/2, Placed in handicap chases last winter and made a respectable return from 10 months off when fourth over 22.5f at Leicester last month. Has a first-time tongue tie added to regular cheekpieces now. Respected with the yard going well. Remains a maiden but some good form last season and can build on reappearance run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (1) ![]() Ribeye |
5/1(-11%) | (1) Ribeye 5/1, Better than ever when readily accounting for 9 rivals at Musselburgh (3m, good to soft) last month. Backed that up when second of 13 over C&D just after Christmas. Winners have emerged from that race and he's a major player from an unchanged mark. Won at Musselburgh last month and runner-up over this C&D since; he's one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (8) ![]() Jessmae |
7/2(+30%) | (8) Jessmae 7/2, Stamina is his forte judged on the manner in which he stayed on for third over 3m at Southwell last month. That was only his second handicap chase so he's unexposed. Placed on his first two chase starts and could be thereabouts once more. |
CAVE ARTICLE showed promise on his chasing debut at Wincanton and found real improvement when sent over an extended 3m2f at Sedgefield last month, coming out on top in a similar contest. A 7lb rise looks a little harsh given the winning distance, but there should be more to come from the six-year-old and it would be no surprise were he up to this task. Ribeye was no match for an impressive winner over C&D but holds every chance, while The Paddy Pie is also noted.
RIBEYE has had the form of his latest C&D second boosted and is narrowly preferred to Sedgefield scorer Cave Article, who should have more to come as a lightly-raced 6-y-o. Harriet Dickin's Williamdeconqueror may prove best of the remainder.
The lightly raced 6yo CAVE ARTICLE (nap) was suited by the step up to 3m2f when winning at Sedgefield last month and can follow up.

1st (9) ![]() Just Aidan |
9/4(+63%) | (9) Just Aidan 9/4, Maiden hurdler from eight attempts but returned to form when third at Wincanton (15.3f, soft) earlier this month. Entitled to build on that and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him get his head in front in this kind of company. Won point bumper in 2023; low-key hurdle form but more competitive latest; yard in form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) ![]() Diamond Days |
6/1(+25%) | (4) Diamond Days 6/1, Showed minor promise when seventh of 14 in a novice hurdle (80/1) at Exeter (16.7f, heavy) 18 days ago and looks another who will improve for the switch to handicaps. Minor form in a bumper and novice/maiden hurdles; betting can offer some clues. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (11) ![]() Simon The Seagull |
12/1(+82%) | (11) Simon The Seagull 12/1, Lightly-raced maiden hurdler who was pulled up on final run of last season and returned with a disappointing effort when ninth of 11 in a handicap hurdle at Plumpton (20.5f, good to soft) 46 days ago. Down in trip and wears blinkers for the first time but easy to look elsewhere. Modest form in handicaps at 3m1f and 2m4f; fitting blinkers needs to make a big difference. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) ![]() Out Out |
9/1(-157%) | (3) Out Out 9/1, Shaped well when runner-up in bumper at Warwick in October 2023 and although not seen to best effect in novice hurdles, he's been given a realistic mark (his dam won off 122 for this yard). Merits serious consideration on handicap debut, particularly if the market speaks in his favour. Dam won 3 hurdles for yard; bumper promise; worth a good look in ordinary handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) ![]() Roxhill |
22/1(-10%) | (2) Roxhill 22/1, No great shakes in a couple of points and efforts in this sphere to date have been underwhelming. Down in trip for handicap debut and others preferred. Well-connected 6yo; has ability; should be capable of better but bred for longer trips. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) ![]() Missy Mole |
11/1(+21%) | (8) Missy Mole 11/1, Runner-up completed start in Irish points but little to shout about in all five outings over hurdles. Failed to improve for stiffer test (21.6f, Exeter) when pulled up 30 days ago and has a bit to prove back down in distance. Runner-up in Irish point last spring but modest handicap form over hurdles this winter. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) ![]() Bredon Hill Dart |
9/1(+64%) | (5) Bredon Hill Dart 9/1, Never featured in 2 bumpers but some promise in novice/maiden hurdles during second half of last term. Shaped as if needing the run switched to handicap company at Leicester on return last month and entitled to strip much fitter today. Claims. Faded on handicap debut but was entitled to need the run and may yet do better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) ![]() Inion Tiogair |
18/1(+45%) | (7) Inion Tiogair 18/1, Bumper winner but has yet to reach that level over hurdles. Showed up for a while in first-time blinkers when seventh of 8 in a novice hurdle at Leicester (15.5f, heavy, 50/1) but faded badly after 2 out. Needs more. Won soft-ground bumper but it's been a long haul in handicaps, latest last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) ![]() Rapid Mission |
22/1(-560%) | (10) Rapid Mission 22/1, Fair handicapper on Flat (stays 12.5f) but has shown little in 3 starts over hurdles this term. Needs this switch to handicaps to spark major improvement. Quite useful on Flat in 2024; goes handicapping off modest mark; soft ground query. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) ![]() Culligran |
11/8(+73%) | (6) Culligran 11/8, Found improvement when getting off the mark in 8-runner handicap hurdle at Hereford (16.2f) in November. Respectable efforts from inflated mark both starts subsequently around there and subsequently dropped 2 lb. That could give her a squeak with top jockey taking over in the saddle. Reliable in handicaps at 2m; unraced on slower than good to soft; can play part again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (12) ![]() Charles Morin |
25/1(-39%) | (12) Charles Morin 25/1, Modest handicapper on Flat and well held in novice/maiden hurdles. Tough ask on handicap hurdle debut racing from 4 lb out of the weights. Won 1m1f handicap here (good) last May; had wind op since latest hurdle run; ground query. |
RAPID MISSION was a winner on the Flat when trained by Joseph O'Brien and could be well treated on his handicap debut in this sphere. He's struggled to land a blow in three juvenile hurdles but has come up against some smart types in the process and the jockey booking of Callum Pritchard is a really positive one. Warwick bumper second Out Out boasts a similar profile now sent handicapping and must be respected for a powerful yard, likewise Culligran.
It would be significant if there is any strong market support for handicap debutantes OUT OUT and Donald Llewellyn and Dan Skelton's charge is preferred with race-fitness on his side making only the fifth start of his career for the yard, who won three races with the dam of this gelding. Of those with handicap form, Bredon Hill Dart and Just Aidan have both shown enough to suggest they are capable of going close in a race of this nature.
A few of these have hopes of better having secured lowly marks for their handicap debuts and OUT OUT is interesting on his bumper form.

1st (8) ![]() Tickets |
4/1(+50%) | (8) Tickets 4/1, Course winner. Latest win here in October. respectable third of 7 in handicap at this C&D 17 days ago. Can make presence felt. Needs to bounce back from two below-par runs but Billy Loughnane is a positive booking. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) ![]() Hierarchy |
10/3(-21%) | (2) Hierarchy 10/3, Readily ended a long losing run in handicap at Lingfield (6f, AW) 9 days ago but subsequently disqualified for weighing in light. Up 5 lb here but still a big player. First past post over this trip at Lingfield (weighed in light); unlikely to be far away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) ![]() Muscika |
7/1(-56%) | (3) Muscika 7/1, 15/2, resumed winning ways in 6-runner handicap at this C&D 20 days ago. Had run of race there but this veteran can give another good account. Admirable veteran who retains vim and verve; C&D winner last time; in the mix again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) ![]() Momaer |
14/1(-65%) | (1) Momaer 14/1, 16/1, not seen to best effect when sixth of 8 in handicap at Chelmsford City (5f) 15 days ago. Can take a step forward back over 6f here. Well handicapped and her last run was a step in the right direction; not without interest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) ![]() Respectful |
28/1(-12%) | (5) Respectful 28/1, 28/1, last of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 42 days ago. Significantly down in trip. First run for yard after leaving Dr Richard Newland & Jamie Insole. Showed little in 2024 but new stable has a good record with recruits from other yards. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) ![]() Sibyl Charm |
7/2(+65%) | (6) Sibyl Charm 7/2, C&D winner. Three wins from 13 runs last year. Seventh of 9 in handicap at this C&D (13/2) 14 days ago, not knocked about. Needs considering. 3-9 here, 0-14 elsewhere; might have needed latest run; well treated if building on that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) ![]() Kitaab |
11/4(+21%) | (4) Kitaab 11/4, C&D winner. Latest win here in October. 6/1, creditable second of 7 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 18 days ago, nearest finish. Ought to be in the shake-up again. Respectable second at Wolverhampton 18 days ago and could have a say again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) ![]() Bellagio Man |
9/1(-13%) | (7) Bellagio Man 9/1, 3-time C&D winner. Latest win here in December. Fifth of 8 in handicap (7/2) at Southwell (6.1f) 16 days ago, very slowly away. Not discounted. Can blow start, and was withdrawn after running loose eight days ago; in form before then. |
KITAAB only found a subsequent winner too good in a deeper event than this at Wolverhampton on his most recent start and competes off an unchanged rating. Philip Kirby's six-year-old has a previous C&D victory on his profile and can regain the winning thread. Muscika struck over track and trip earlier in the month and holds an obvious chance off just 1lb higher, while Hierarchy is another to keep an eye on.
A few with chances but HIERARCHY ended a losing sequence in fine style at Lingfield last week only to lose the room in the stewards' room and can gain compensation here. Veteran Muscika arrives in very good nick and could emerge as the main danger ahead of Kitaab and Momaer.
A chance is taken on MOMAER who improved plenty on her second run back from an absence and can build on that again.

1st (4) ![]() Crossing The Bar |
7/2(+0%) | (4) Crossing The Bar 7/2, On a lengthy losing run but hit the frame all starts in Ireland upon joining Cian Michael Collins. Higher British mark but he can give it another good go. Second of 21 at Fairyhouse last time and a return to winning ways could be imminent. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) ![]() Icare Allen |
9/1(-50%) | (1) Icare Allen 9/1, Confirmed the promise of his Uttoxeter run when taking advantage of falling handicap mark when returning to that venue (upped to 3m) in November, well backed and winning with something in hand. Isn't the most consistent and in nothing like the same form at Carlisle. Well beaten a lot more often than not nowadays but won nicely at Uttoxeter two starts ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) ![]() Champ Royal |
10/1(+60%) | (6) Champ Royal 10/1, Much improved since joining Susan Corbett, scoring 4 times (at up to 25.3f) over hurdles last season. Failed to take to chasing and fared no better back over hurdles at Haydock. Struggled on his two runs last month but this two-time C&D winner shouldn't be written off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) ![]() Piaff Bubbles |
3/1(+40%) | (7) Piaff Bubbles 3/1, Resumed from 21 months off with a solid fifth of 11 in handicap hurdle at Hexham (20.1f, soft) 24 days ago, not ideally placed. Upped to 3m and built on that when third at Ayr and that puts him in the mix. Close 3rd at Ayr last Tuesday and could be bang there once more in first-time cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) ![]() Pike Road |
5/1(-50%) | (5) Pike Road 5/1, Runner-up in a point and progressive form in 3 starts under Rules, runner-up over 23.3f at Uttoxeter last month. Switches to handicaps and limit not yet reached. Runner-up on both hurdle starts and could play a leading role on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) ![]() Fingal's Hill |
7/1(0%) | (3) Fingal's Hill 7/1, Consistent and likeable hurdler who looked and shaped as though in need of the run in first-time cheekpieces at Carlisle on comeback. Progressed with each run since and now likely to be at peak fitness, he's well weighted back up in distance. Fair efforts over 2m3f/2m6f the last twice; this longer trip poses a question. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) ![]() Kap De Triomphe |
28/1(-180%) | (8) Kap De Triomphe 28/1, Bumper winner in Ireland. Quiet start over hurdles but needs a market check upped markedly in distance now handicapping. Bumper winner; hasn't shone over hurdles but takes a big step up in trip on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) ![]() Ballygeary |
13/2(-8%) | (2) Ballygeary 13/2, Resumed winning ways at Market Rasen in June. Limited impact next 3 outings but eased in class, he showed a lot more when second at Musselburgh a month ago. Eased further 1 lb so he needs considering trying this trip for the first time. Back to form when runner-up at Musselburgh and in with a chance if staying this new trip. |
BALLYGEARY produced a much better effort when second in a stronger event at Musselburgh and the handicapper might have been kind to drop him 1lb. With this step up in trip a possible source of improvement, he looks the way to go. Crossing The Bar finished seven lengths clear of the third when filling the runner-up spot at Fairyhouse and has to be taken seriously. Of the remainder, Piaff Bubbles makes the most appeal after his third at Ayr.
PIKE ROAD displayed ability in both his qualifying runs and upped in trip for this quick switch to a handicap, he could be the answer. Fingal's Hill is a very solid alternative, while market support for Kap de Triomphe would look significant given his mark could be lenient based on his bumper win.
Irish challenger CROSSING THE BAR ran really well when second of 21 at Fairyhouse last time and is taken to go one better today.

1st (9) ![]() River Run Free |
4/1(+20%) | (9) River Run Free 4/1, Placed both completed starts in Irish points but well held in a trio of hurdling events this winter. Tongue tie added for his chase debut under Rules. Some ability in points; tailed off in three hurdle races; tongue tied for this h'cap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) ![]() Joe Cotton |
5/1(+29%) | (3) Joe Cotton 5/1, Unreliable type but he came in a respectable second of 5 in handicap chase at Exeter (19.2f, heavy) 30 days ago, finding little. Needs to back it up. Runner-up on last three outings; place chance again but others are preferred for the win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) ![]() Inedit De Mee |
11/1(-83%) | (1) Inedit De Mee 11/1, Ex-French maiden who posted his best effort here when fourth of 8 in handicap chase (12/1) at Uttoxeter (20f, heavy) 68 days ago. Not ruled out off a falling mark. Following a long absence, he has not shown a great deal on his four British starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (11) ![]() Shaw's Cross |
40/1(-60%) | (11) Shaw's Cross 40/1, Seventeen runs since his last win in 2023 but he posted a creditable fourth of 11 in handicap chase at Fakenham (21.2f, good to soft) 12 days ago. One to consider. 2lb out of the weights but regularly shows enough to be given a place chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) ![]() Pawpaw |
22/1(-57%) | (5) Pawpaw 22/1, Put his best foot forward when resuming winning ways at Fontwell in November but has long been inconsistent and was well beaten at Carlisle next time. Very inconsistent this term; Fontwell win (good ground) on penultimate start was over 3m2f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) ![]() Watchoutitscookie |
4/1(+11%) | (7) Watchoutitscookie 4/1, Built on earlier promise to get off the mark over fences in 7-runner handicap at Newcastle (23.4f, good to soft) 48 days ago, going with enthusiasm. Not taken lightly in his current mood. Made all at Newcastle (extended 2m7f, good to soft) with a taking performance; back up 6lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) ![]() Bobbi's Beauty |
3/1(-9%) | (4) Bobbi's Beauty 3/1, Much improved form when a convincing winner over 2m here in December. Record now stands at 2 from 4 in chases and she can add to her tally with more still to offer. 6l win here (2m, soft) six weeks ago and last February's win was over 2m4f on heavy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) ![]() El Bandido Pancho |
4/1(+60%) | (10) El Bandido Pancho 4/1, Lightly-raced maiden hurdler who was still upsides the winner when fell 2 out in handicap here (19.5f) 64 days ago. Much respected now going chasing. Fell when challenging two out on handicap hurdle debut here (extended 2m3f, soft) latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) ![]() Chosen Hero |
28/1(-133%) | (2) Chosen Hero 28/1, Fair winner at 16f over hurdles but last of 6 in handicap chase at Fontwell (17.8f, soft) 36 days ago. Much more is needed. Best hurdle form needs respect but chasing did not go well in her two attempts in December. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) ![]() Tommy Dillion |
50/1(-257%) | (6) Tommy Dillion 50/1, Off 8 months before pulled up in handicap chase here (16f, good to soft) on his debut over fences, pulled up before 2 out. Off another 13 months here with his fitness to prove. Pulled up here on chase debut on his only start last season; off 417 days. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (12) ![]() Killard Point |
100/1(+0%) | (12) Killard Point 100/1, Lightly-raced maiden under NH rules. Had a wind op before pulled up in handicap chase (50/1) at Wincanton (25.1f, soft) on debut over fences 45 days ago. Cheekpieces on for 1st time. Achieved very little in his three hurdle races and handicap chase; 9lb out of the handicap. |
BOBBI'S BEAUTY won with any amount in hand over 2m here before Christmas and, up 8lb for that, the step up in trip can ensure she remains a step ahead of the assessor and she's still open to more improvement over fences (2-4). Watchoutitscookie also comes in here on the back of a win and he too was impressive at Newcastle. Joe Cotton might have to settle for another supporting role.
BOBBI'S BEAUTY has taken really well to this sphere and an 8 lb rise for her emphatic success here last time out doesn't look sufficient to prevent her from going 3-5 over fences. Watchoutitscookie is feared most on the back of his Newcastle victory, with Inedit de Mee also firmly in the picture if, as expected, building on his Uttoxeter fourth. Chasing newcomer El Bandido Pancho completes the shortlist.
The vote goes to BOBBI'S BEAUTY (nap) given the style of her win here last time. Watchoutitscookie and Thirsty Farmer are next.

4/5(+60%) | (5) Power Fizz 4/5, Twice-raced colt. 9/2, fifth of 13 in novice at Yarmouth (7f, soft), not knocked about. Off 108 days and has had a wind op so needs considering. Stepped up on debut form when fifth at Yarmouth; had wind op; type to progress with racing. |

18/1(-13%) | (4) Political Power 18/1, Fair gelding. 40/1, eighth of 12 in maiden at the Curragh (7f, good to firm). Off 6 months. First run for yard after leaving Adrian Murray and needs to hit the ground running. Up and down in four runs last year; now makes stable debut having been gelded. |

3rd (3) ![]() Miami Matrix |
8/1(-33%) | (3) Miami Matrix 8/1, €48,000 yearling, 80,000 gns 2-y-o, Invincible Spirit colt. Half-brother to 12.3f winner Ob La Di. Noteworthy newcomer. Fetched 80,000gns at breeze-ups; wouldn't have to be anything special to make an impact. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) ![]() A War Eagle |
10/3(+5%) | (2) A War Eagle 10/3, Make Believe colt shaped well when third of 7 in maiden (22/1) at Wolverhampton (8.6f) on debut 42 days ago, left poorly placed. Sure to improve. Player. Encouraging third in maiden at Wolverhampton on debut; ought to make his presence felt. |

5th (8) ![]() Dream Illusion |
28/1(-40%) | (8) Dream Illusion 28/1, Once-raced filly. 25/1, seventh of 10 in novice at Southwell (6.1f) on debut 16 days ago. Needs a big step forward. Slowly away and no threat on debut; in good hands but has plenty of improvement to find. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) ![]() Target Man |
11/2(-144%) | (6) Target Man 11/2, Lightly-raced gelding. Gelded/off 12 weeks before coming in last of 3 in novice (11/8) at Chelmsford City (5f) 15 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Can take a step forward. Second or third all five runs, although a beaten favourite on latest; sets form standard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) ![]() Variance |
17/2(+39%) | (7) Variance 17/2, €70,000 yearling, Dark Angel colt. Dam 6f winner (including at 2 yrs). Market can prove a good guide. 70,000euros yearling; has quite a classy pedigree and should be monitored in the market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) ![]() Chantilly Moon |
150/1(+25%) | (1) Chantilly Moon 150/1, Twice-raced gelding on Flat. Seventh of 9 in novice (250/1) at this course (8f) 21 days ago so more is required. Pulled up in three maiden hurdles and little impact in two Flat outings; hard to fancy. |
Target Man arrives with something to prove after finishing last of three when favourite at Chelmsford. Stepping up from 5f might aid his cause but the same owners' POLITICAL POWER may have his measure. Gelded after running down the field in a Curragh maiden won by leading Classic contender The Lion In Winter, he was previously placed over a mile at Bellewstown and his proven stamina could prove the deciding factor. A War Eagle is capable of being in the mix after a promising start at Wolverhampton.
Ed Bethell's A WAR EAGLE made a promising start when third at Wolverhampton and is fancied to build on it here to get off the mark. Power Fizz rates the chief threat if, as expected, building on his Yarmouth fifth after breathing surgery. Target Man also has the form to play a part and newcomer Miami Matrix is worth monitoring in the betting in an intriguing maiden.
Target Man sets the form standard but several could improve past him, in particular A WAR EAGLE (preferred) and Power Fizz.

1st (2) ![]() Balcomie Breeze |
9/4(+72%) | (2) Balcomie Breeze 9/4, Lightly raced 7-y-o who was placed in bumpers. Down the field in novice/maiden hurdles but caught the eye with his move from the rear when sixth of 13 on handicap bow at Musselburgh (19.8f) in December. Appeals as the type to do better still. Had wind op. Well beaten on all four hurdle starts; the wind op could be a help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) ![]() Lahire |
2/1(+100%) | (3) Lahire 2/1, Did well to last as long as he did when fourth under an aggressive ride at Wetherby (2m) on penultimate start. First past post (subsequently demoted for causing interference) at Market Rasen (16.6f) 2 weeks ago and he's of interest provided he keeps the errors at bay. First past the post at Market Rasen (demoted due to interference); could well make amends. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) ![]() Inoue |
11/2(+83%) | (8) Inoue 11/2, Down the field both starts in bumpers and has fared little better over hurdles, his effort proving short-lived when eighth of 12 in a C&D handicap 9 days ago. Likely to find a few too good again. He's shown very little worthwhile form in eight-race career and is 7lb out of the handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) ![]() Admiral Fitz |
10/3(+52%) | (7) Admiral Fitz 10/3, Lightly-raced 7-y-o who showed more than previously under Rules when fourth of 7 in handicap hurdle at Ludlow (15.7f, soft) in November, a late error costing him the chance of making the frame. Possible he could yet have more to offer. Cheekpieces/tongue tie on. Fair fourth at Ludlow last time; lightly raced and open to improvement for in-form yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) ![]() Kuma Beach |
50/1(-127%) | (6) Kuma Beach 50/1, Little form in a bumper/first 3 starts over hurdles and fared no better switched to a handicap/after 6 months off when pulled up at Southwell (20.4f, good to soft) 46 days ago. Has enough to prove back down in trip with cheekpieces now reached for. Pulled up at 66-1 on handicap debut; a transformation is needed in first-time cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) ![]() Little Pi |
14/1(-75%) | (4) Little Pi 14/1, Improved initially from a low base in handicaps last winter, registering back-to-back victories at Ludlow/Wincanton. Final 2 efforts proved to be disappointing for Matt Sheppard and he needs to hit the ground running on stable debut/following 11 months off. Won two in a row last term but flopped on final two starts; yard debut after 345 days off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) ![]() Kellie's Dream |
11/1(-10%) | (5) Kellie's Dream 11/1, Dual hurdles winner when campaigned in Ireland (at up to 18f) and best effort for present yard when fourth at Perth (16.2f) in April. Ran below that level in 2 starts thereafter during the summer and others appeal more returning from 7 months off. Wasn't threatening when last seen but has slipped to a handy mark; each-way possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) ![]() Kazar Forez |
20/1(-122%) | (1) Kazar Forez 20/1, Fair maiden hurdler in France, going close in Auteuil handicap on final start there in June. Never figured on considerate return from 7 months off for new yard when ninth of 11 in handicap hurdle at Newcastle (16.9f) 2 weeks ago and this promises to reveal more. No impact on recent British debut but this two-time French runner-up is not ruled out. |
LAHIRE was demoted to second in the stewards' room after making all at Market Rasen and only has a 2lb higher mark to contend with. With Brian Hughes taking over in the plate, he will prove very tough to beat. Admiral Fitz finished a well-held fourth at Ludlow in November, but he could get closer off 1lb lower on only his third handicap start. Kellie's Dream lurks on an appealing rating and is another to consider.
LAHIRE confirmed the promise of his previous effort only to lose the race in the stewards' room having hampered the runner-up at Market Rasen 2 weeks ago. Recent displays underline he's capable of defying this sort of mark and he makes the most appeal. Admiral Fitz and Balcomie Breeze are less exposed than most and head the dangers. Market confidence behind top weight Kazar Forez would also look significant.
The 5yo LAHIRE finished first past the post at Market Rasen recently only to be demoted due to interference, and he can make amends.

1st (3) ![]() Clonmacash |
9/2(+55%) | (3) Clonmacash 9/2, Fair gelding. Course winner. Twelve runs since last win in 2023. 13/2, good second of 14 in C&D handicap on Wednesday. Respected for McGuinness. Fourth behind Fly To Glory here last month, good run when second here on Wednesday. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) ![]() Ferrari Desert |
11/2(+50%) | (4) Ferrari Desert 11/2, Fair mare. C&D winner. Winner here in October. Creditable sixth of 14 in C&D handicap on Wednesday. Has a bit to find on these terms. Twice close up in third since breakthrough C&D win in October, unplaced here on Wednesday. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (13) ![]() Half Nutz |
11/1(+8%) | (13) Half Nutz 11/1, Fair gelding. Thirty two runs since last win in 2022. 9/2, below form sixth of 14 in handicap at this C&D 44 days ago, left poorly placed. Can make presence felt. Six-time turf winner with 0-12 AW record, others preferred based on course suitability. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) ![]() Fly To Glory |
11/8(+50%) | (8) Fly To Glory 11/8, Fair gelding. 11/2, improved on recent efforts to win 14-runner handicap at this course (6f) 17 days ago. Has good chance on form. Bidding for a hat-trick after two handicap wins, revised mark suggests he can score again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) ![]() Devil's Angel |
7/1(0%) | (1) Devil's Angel 7/1, Fair gelding. Twenty one runs since last win in 2022. Creditable 2 lengths third of 14 to Fly To Glory in handicap at this course (6f, 5/1) 17 days ago. Third behind Fly To Glory on his last two starts, faces tough task against that rival. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (11) ![]() Higher Kingdom |
10/1(-11%) | (11) Higher Kingdom 10/1, Fair gelding. 4-time course winner. Latest win here in November. Creditable fifth of 12 in handicap (10/3) at this course (8f) 21 days ago. One to consider dropped to a claimer. Decent form over 1m here in recent months, this trip is possibly a bit short of optimum. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) ![]() Superior Force |
40/1(-150%) | (7) Superior Force 40/1, Fair gelding. Twenty runs since last win in 2021. 50/1, below form seventh of 13 in handicap at this C&D 21 days ago. Good placed form for Adrian Murray early last year at this venue, recent form is weak. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) ![]() Jackandthefox |
100/1(+0%) | (5) Jackandthefox 100/1, Seventh of 12 in handicap (66/1) at this course (8f) 21 days ago. Never in the first six in ten attempts, makes no appeal at these weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (12) ![]() Man Is King |
13/2(+0%) | (12) Man Is King 13/2, Fair gelding. Remains a maiden after 27 Flat runs. Creditable second of 14 in handicap at this course (8f, 7/2) 49 days ago. Maiden has been consistent in defeat over 1m on his last four starts here; needs extra. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) ![]() Cross Border |
13/2(+0%) | (10) Cross Border 13/2, Unreliable sort. Course winner. Bit below form seventh of 12 in handicap at this course (5f, 9/4) 63 days ago, having hopeless task from position. Significantly back up in trip. Course winner at 5f, decent form at 6f, credentials for 7f success are not as strong. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (6) ![]() Spitfire Fighter |
50/1(-150%) | (6) Spitfire Fighter 50/1, Thrice-raced maiden on Flat. Tongue strap on for 1st time in this code, eighth of 15 in novice hurdle at Down Royal (17.2f, soft, 25/1) 10 days ago, not knocked about. Has the benefit of a recent hurdles run, lacks AW experience, could feature if adapting. |
In-form FLY TO GLORY stands out here in claiming company. The Pat Murphy-trained gelding has won his last two handicaps and looks nicely treated in this 7f contest, where he is top rated with a mark of 69. Next best at the weights is the Gavin Cromwell-trained Cross Border and he could be a danger. The Expert Eye gelding steps up in trip again and has run well over 7f here in the past. Man Is King is another to consider.
If FLY TO GLORY is in the same form as when landing a C&D handicap earlier in the month he looks weighted to win again. Higher Kingdom heads the dangers along with Ado McGuinness pair Clonmacash, who ran well here on Wednesday, and Half Nutz.
This looks like a good opportunity for FLY TO GLORY (nap) to complete a hat-trick after two handicap wins at this venue

1st (8) ![]() Eaton Anne |
11/8(+27%) | (8) Eaton Anne 11/8, Successful sole outing in Irish points and confirmed promise of her qualifying runs when landing an 11-runner handicap hurdle (following wind surgery) at Uttoxeter (15.8f, heavy), still last two out but found plenty under strong drive. Step up in trip should help and looks open to improvement. Up 6lb but surely a good chance he's better than that, given style of his 2m Uttoxeter win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) ![]() Godot |
5/1(+38%) | (4) Godot 5/1, C&D winner is a fair hurdler/chaser. Can race on and off the bridle but on a going day last twice, latest when running well in defeat behind Pearly Island (Fakenham, 20f, soft) 23 days ago. Clearly in good heart and hasn't finished out of the frame in three starts here. Partial revival on last two starts; needs better to win this contest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) ![]() Honneur D'ajonc |
8/1(+11%) | (1) Honneur D'ajonc 8/1, Proved inconsistent since joining James Owen and below-form when pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Haydock (21.2f, soft) 13 days ago. May find a couple too good here, even if on a going day. Not the force of old, and inconsistent with it; second on penultimate start (2m3f, heavy). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) ![]() Cast's Tasha |
11/2(0%) | (5) Cast's Tasha 11/2, Smooth traveller who returned better than ever when scoring at Ffos Las (21.9f, heavy) in November. Ran at least as well when second at Sandown (19.8f, heavy) last month and she can give another good account in her current form. Made a cracking start to this campaign with Ffos Las win (2m6f) and Sandown second (2m4f). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) ![]() Aggagio |
5/1(+38%) | (7) Aggagio 5/1, Landed decent pot over hurdles at Haydock in March 2023, but runs in this sphere since have been well below that. However, there were signs of promise on his latest run (fifth of 8 at Lingfield 19.5f, soft) when not given hard time. On a handy mark now and market should reveal what's expected. C&D fifth on latest outing suggested he can't be totally ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) ![]() Ilot De L'isle |
11/1(-22%) | (3) Ilot De L'isle 11/1, Fairly useful bumper winner who made a successful hurdling debut in 4-y-o event at Strasbourg (17.9f, heavy) in November 2022. First run for yard after leaving Emmanuel Clayeux and market may guide what's expected on U.K./stable debut following over 2 years off the track. Won well in France in 2022 in a bumper and hurdles debut; withdrawn twice in April 2023. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) ![]() Knowwhentoholdem |
17/2(-6%) | (2) Knowwhentoholdem 17/2, Hurdles winner for Anthony Charlton at Newbury in March and ran to similar level on debut for this yard when fourth of 11 in handicap at Wetherby later that month. Not taken to chasing on two starts this year and returning to hurdles in first-time cheekpieces should see him in a better light. Heavy defeats switched to chasing, with tongue tied last time and cheekpieces added today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) ![]() Bert Wilson |
22/1(+12%) | (9) Bert Wilson 22/1, Won handicap hurdles at Plumpton and Chepstow in 2023 but more miss than hit since, losing form towards the end of last season, sixth of 7 in a handicap hurdle at Ffos Las (20f soft). Races from 1 lb out of the handicap and hard to make a strong case for on comeback following another wind operation. Last season was disappointing but he's since had wind surgery (second time). |
Success had looked unlikely for EATON ANNE approaching two from home at Uttoxeter on New Year's Eve, but Olly Murphy's charge kept on powerfully to record what was ultimately a comfortable triumph. The lightly-raced gelding is 6lb higher but with scope for further improvement, that may not inconvenience him. Cast's Tasha hit the woodwork in a 0-125 at Sandown last time out and she is a real player, along with Godot.
The strong-travelling CAST'S TASHA has proved better than ever on her last two outings, and she is taken to regain the winning thread on ground that suits. AGGAGIO has fallen to a very tempting handicap mark, and he would be a big danger if the market suggests that a return to form is in the offing. Lightly-raced Eaton Anne should appreciate the step up in trip and he remains open to improvement.
First choice has to be EATON ANNE, a freakish winner at Uttoxeter last time out. Handicap newcomer Kalhandrion is feared most.

1st (6) ![]() Volenti |
5/2(+0%) | (6) Volenti 5/2, 3-time C&D winner. Three wins from 8 runs last year. 5/1, good third of 12 in handicap at this C&D 10 days ago, having hopeless task from position. Likely player. Won three times over C&D last year and returned to form when third last time; solid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) ![]() Paris Lights |
6/1(+0%) | (1) Paris Lights 6/1, Unreliable sort. C&D winner. Latest win here in December. Below form 5¼ lengths fifth of 9 to Cusack in handicap (7/2) at this C&D 17 days ago. Others more persuasive. Respectable fifth to Cusack here last time; more required if he's to turn the tables. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) ![]() Drafted |
20/1(-100%) | (9) Drafted 20/1, Course winner. Latest win here in November. 8/1, below form fifth of 10 in handicap at this course (7.1f) 23 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Danny Brooke and needs to bounce back. Changed stables after below-par run last time; bit to prove, including stamina for 1m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) ![]() Rebecca's Girl |
9/2(-13%) | (8) Rebecca's Girl 9/2, Course winner. Latest win here in December. Respectable third of 10 in handicap at this course (7.1f, 3/1) 23 days ago. Can make presence felt. Likeable mare, made all here in December; rallied for third latest; should go well again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) ![]() Wyvern |
9/2(+31%) | (5) Wyvern 9/2, C&D winner. Latest win here in November. Creditable sixth of 12 in handicap at this C&D (12/1) 10 days ago, slowly away. One to consider. Wasn't beaten far when sixth of 12 here ten days ago; should be in the mix again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) ![]() Mambha |
28/1(-100%) | (3) Mambha 28/1, C&D winner. Latest win here in November. 25/1, 18¾ lengths last of 9 to Cusack in handicap at this C&D 17 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Second C&D win in November but has failed to repeat the form; needs to get back on track. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) ![]() Cusack |
5/2(+44%) | (2) Cusack 5/2, 4-time C&D winner. 17/2, creditable fifth of 12 in handicap at this C&D 10 days ago. Can give a good account. Has seven course wins to his name; arrives in form and Kaiya Fraser's claim is a bonus. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) ![]() Bird Of Play |
28/1(+15%) | (4) Bird Of Play 28/1, 100/1, 8¼ lengths sixth of 9 to Cusack in handicap at this C&D 17 days ago, slowly away. More is required. Well held after absences on last two starts; difficult to recommend. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) ![]() Royal Blaze |
22/1(+12%) | (7) Royal Blaze 22/1, Sixth of 8 in handicap at this course (10.2f, 66/1) 20 days ago. Back down in trip with work to do. Mark has tumbled for current yard; dangerous if getting away on terms. |
REBECCA'S GIRL has been dropped 2lb for her recent third here over 7f and that performance suggested that returning to a mile could see her back to winning ways. Cusack has to enter calculations having run creditably last time under a penalty, and Kaiya Fraser's 3lb claim is another positive to aid his cause. Others for the shortlist include Volenti and Paris Lights.
VOLENTI didn't enjoy the rub of the green when a recent C&D third and can bag a fourth C&D victory now off an unchanged mark. Cusack also goes really well round here and is next on the list ahead of another course scorer Rebecca's Girl.
Course regular CUSACK (nap) can run off a lower mark than when fifth here last week and has the added bonus of Kaiya Fraser's claim.

2nd (6) ![]() Merchants Arch |
4/1(+67%) | (6) Merchants Arch 4/1, Creditable sixth of 14 in nursery at this course (8f, 40/1) 58 days ago, not ideally placed. Struggled in opening handicaps; better effort here over 1m but the drop in trip won't suit. |

5/2(+17%) | (9) Senior Montecristo 5/2, 5/2 and visored for first time, creditable second of 10 in handicap at this course (8f) 17 days ago. Not taken lightly. Runner-up here over 1m latest, only passed inside the final furlong; big player back at 7f. |

14th (11) ![]() Legendsoftheland |
40/1(-21%) | (11) Legendsoftheland 40/1, Tongue strap on for first time, tenth of 13 in nursery at this course (8f, 100/1) 77 days ago. Well beaten in some good maidens; failed to get involved in a trio of handicaps to date. |
SENIOR MONTECRISTO bumped into an improver when runner-up on his last visit and can go one better now. The Havana Gold gelding was well-backed that day but had to settle for second behind Lost President, who went on to frank the form here on Monday. The selection may again be able to hold Movin And Groovin, who was two lengths behind in third last time. She is 4lb better off on ratings now but doesn't have a claimer on board this time. Brigid's Cloak ran a big race on her handicap debut here in October and is another to note on her return from a little break.
SENIOR MONTECRISTO shaped well when runner-up to a next-time-out winner ober 1m here 3 weeks ago and with the return to 7f not expected to be a problem, he makes plenty of appeal. Movin ans Groovin arrives in excellent order so she's a threat, while Roaming Eyes lurks on a dangerous mark if she can bounce back to form.
SENIOR MONTECRISTO was only reeled in late here over 1m on his last start and can go one better dropping back in trip

3/1(+50%) | (10) Jesse Luc 3/1, Winner at Chelmsford City in January. 8/11, creditable second of 7 in minor event at Chelmsford City (6f) 15 days ago, pulling hard. May benefit from a first-time hood. Solid record in classified races this year; faces a tougher task back at handicap level. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) ![]() Call Glory |
10/1(+38%) | (3) Call Glory 10/1, Seventeen runs since last win in 2023. 5/1, respectable fourth of 8 in handicap at this C&D 16 days ago. 0-5 for new yard but has a fighting chance off current mark and with rider taking off 5lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) ![]() Wee Fat Mac |
5/2(+50%) | (4) Wee Fat Mac 5/2, Twenty runs since last win in 2023. Good third of 9 in handicap at Newcastle (6f, 5/2) 8 days ago. Can make presence felt once more. Went very close on latest start and remains on last winning mark; firmly in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (12) ![]() Vivency |
28/1(+15%) | (12) Vivency 28/1, Seventeen runs since last win in 2022. Bit below form when third of 8 in handicap at this course (7.1f, 40/1) 8 days ago. Placed in 7f contest here last week but ran to a meagre RPR. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) ![]() Man On A Mission |
14/1(-17%) | (8) Man On A Mission 14/1, Latest win at Kempton in December. 3/1, respectable 4 lengths second of 9 to Court Drive in handicap at Kempton (6f) 11 days ago, slowly away. Cheekpieces back on. Won at Kempton in December; held by Court Drive on form there last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) ![]() Court Drive |
7/2(-17%) | (1) Court Drive 7/2, Career best when winning 9-runner handicap (4/1) at Kempton (6f) 11 days ago by 4 lengths from Man On A Mission, comfortably. Much respected under a 5 lb penalty. Won well at Kempton last week; great chance under a penalty (future mark 3lb higher). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) ![]() Arc Shadowfax |
7/1(+42%) | (7) Arc Shadowfax 7/1, 7/1, creditable third of 8 in handicap at this C&D 16 days ago, very slowly away. Interesting from slipping mark. Steadily finding his form for new yard; good third over C&D last time despite tardy start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) ![]() Em Jay Kay |
4/1(+50%) | (2) Em Jay Kay 4/1, C&D winner. Latest win at Wolverhampton in November. 5/1, creditable third of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 11 days ago. Will continue to give a good account. Won at Wolverhampton in November; has remained in form since; solid claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) ![]() Fortunate Star |
14/1(-40%) | (6) Fortunate Star 14/1, Course winner who found run of good form coming to a halt when fourth of 8 in handicap at this course (5f, 5/4) 16 days ago. Back up in trip. Below-par favourite here last time but solid otherwise of late and may rebound. |
A few with chances, but the vote goes to COURT DRIVE. The Inns Of Court filly must shoulder a 5lb penalty having bolted up at Kempton recently, but that might not be enough to stop her, especially given that she's drawn handily again. Man On A Mission finished second behind the selection that day but with cheekpieces applied for the first time, he might be able to close the gap. That being said, Wee Fat Mac has been knocking hard at the door recently and he could be the bigger threat.
Plenty with chances but COOPERATION edges the vote having shaped well from an attractive mark over C&D last week. There seemed to be no fluke about Court Drive's performance at Kempton 11 days ago and she's much respected under a 5 lb penalty, with Em Jay Kay completing the shortlist.
Preference is for COOPERATION, who finished nicely for second over C&D last week. Court Drive is feared most.

10/1(+50%) | (7) Widely Acclaimed 10/1, 5,000 gns foal, Aclaim colt. Dam, maiden (raced only at 6f), half-sister to useful sprinter Autumn Pearl. Possibilities. Cheap purchase who is bred to be speedy so the trip could turn out to be a stretch. |

40/1(-60%) | (11) Madam Zen 40/1, €1,500 yearling, Sands of Mali filly. Half-sister to 7f-1½m winner Come On The Lads. Dam winner up to 7f (including at 2 yrs) out of useful 2-y-o 7.5f/1m winner Hucking Hot. Cheap purchase but bred to go on this surface so monitor the betting on her debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (10) ![]() Lady Plimsoll |
7/1(-40%) | (10) Lady Plimsoll 7/1, Twice-raced filly, good second of 10 in maiden (25/1) at this C&D 21 days ago. Holds solid form claims. Runner-up behind 50-1 winner over C&D latest; decent chance of getting involved again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (8) ![]() Heaven's On Fire |
150/1(0%) | (8) Heaven's On Fire 150/1, Twice-raced filly. Last of 12 in maiden (200/1) at this C&D 21 days ago. Hooded for 1st time. Failed to beat a single rival home in two maidens around here; tried in a hood now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (3) ![]() Cooee Call |
125/1(-89%) | (3) Cooee Call 125/1, Twice-raced colt. 150/1, sixth of 7 in minor event at this course (6f) 17 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Slowly away and never a factor in a pair of 6f races here; easily passed over. |
SHAMANKA stepped forward nicely on her second outing here last month and may be able to open her account now. The Shaman filly improved from her debut run a month previously when third to Honeysuckle Rose and looks the pick of those with form in the book. There are a couple of interesting newcomers in opposition. Ten Sovereigns gelding Snapaurum is a half-brother to Snapraeterea, who has won three Listed races for the yard. Adrian Murray introduces Umala, a Saxon Warrior filly who cost 120,000 euro as a yearling. She is a half-sister to a Listed winner in Germany.
The betting should reveal plenty here but the vote goes to Ten Sovereigns gelding SNAPAURUM who fetched £105,000 as a yearling and is bred to be well above average. Lady Plimsoll and Shamanka rate the pick of those with experience and can chase home Joseph O'Brien's newcomer in that order.
\bUMALA\ gets the nod. Adrian Murray's filly is bred to be above-average and she might prove to be up to the job on her debut

1st (3) ![]() Marchogion |
8/11(-82%) | (3) Marchogion 8/11, Fairly useful maiden who was runner-up in minor events final 2 starts in 2024. Shaped as if needing the run after 4 months off when last of 9 at Newcastle a fortnight ago and sets a good standard. Drops back to a much easier level; the clear pick on his 2yo form, which stacks up well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) ![]() Adversary |
2/1(+80%) | (1) Adversary 2/1, £90,000 yearling, Pinatubo colt. Half-brother to 2 winners, including useful 7f winner Sea of Thieves. Showed only greenness when down the field in a 7f Kempton novice on debut in September. Has been gelded subsequently. Always behind in sole 2yo start; gelded since; in good hands and may do better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) ![]() Ancient State |
200/1(-203%) | (2) Ancient State 200/1, Well held in minor event/maiden. Poor chance on form; drops in trip. |

4/1(+60%) | (5) Snow Creek 4/1, 16,000 gns 2-y-o, Wootton Bassett gelding. Dam, runner-up both starts at 1m-1¼m, half-sister to high-class Ribchester, champion older miler in Europe. Trainer has made a good start and worth a market check. 16,000gns 2yo; by Wootton Bassett out of a well-related dam; attractively bred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) ![]() Secret Sausage |
80/1(-220%) | (4) Secret Sausage 80/1, Has offered little both starts to date. Lot to find with the chief form contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) ![]() Fidget Lady |
11/1(-144%) | (8) Fidget Lady 11/1, Territories filly. Closely related to useful 7f winner Maywake. Dam maiden who should have stayed 7f. Respected newcomer. Closely related to her yard's useful 7f winner Maywake; interesting newcomer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) ![]() Adaay's Grace |
66/1(-32%) | (6) Adaay's Grace 66/1, 100/1 and cheekpieces on, ninth of 10 in novice at this C&D on debut 16 days ago, slowly away. Soundly beaten in C&D contest 16 days ago. |
MARCHOGION made little impact on his handicap debut at Newcastle a fortnight ago, but the Mehmas colt sets a useful standard with an official rating of 85 and he is expected to prove too strong back in novice company. Fidget Lady wouldn't need to be anything out of the ordinary to be involved and she warrants a market check ahead of her first start, while Secret Sausage heads the remainder.
MARCHOGION sets a good standard and is taken to make the most of a good opportunity. Market checks are advised on Fidget Lady and Snow Creek, who are a couple of newcomers who both make some appeal on paper.
The withdrawal of chief form rival Kewmill leaves MARCHOGION a long way clear on the figures. Fidget Lady is second choice.

1st (6) ![]() Vierson |
10/11(+74%) | (6) Vierson 10/11, Fair filly. Twelfth of 18 in handicap (16/1) at Galway (11.8f, heavy), meeting some trouble. Off 95 days. Significantly back down in trip and better showing anticipated. Ran well in a strong 7f fillies' maiden here; return to a sounder surface should suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) ![]() Quatrain |
3/2(+14%) | (5) Quatrain 3/2, Fair filly. Remains a maiden after 8 Flat runs. Ran well below best when eighth of 12 in maiden at this course (10.7f, 13/2) 21 days ago. Back down in trip and pick of her efforts give her sound claims here. Has placed five times from eight starts; sets a high bar here and should go close. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) ![]() Bahama Bear |
12/1(-200%) | (1) Bahama Bear 12/1, Twice-raced filly. 28/1, fifth of 9 in maiden at this course (7f) 86 days ago, left behind over 1f out. However, debut effort wasn't devoid of encouragement and she's not out of things with a repeat of that. Never involved in a 7f maiden here when last seen; this is easier but she has work to do. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) ![]() Ocean Diamond |
13/2(-117%) | (4) Ocean Diamond 13/2, Siyouni filly. Attracted support but ran green and not persevered with when held when seventh of 14 in maiden (9/4) at this course (7f) on debut 49 days ago. That experience won't have been wasted on her and better showing anticipated. Heavily backed for her debut here; she's well worth another chance in a weak contest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) ![]() Clifton Light |
22/1(-38%) | (2) Clifton Light 22/1, National Defense filly. 150/1, ran to just a poor level when tenth of 14 in maiden at this course (7f, 150/1) on debut 49 days ago. Needs to step up plenty on that if she's to figure. Around 2l behind Ocean Diamond on debut; yard went close with one here on Monday. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) ![]() Gers Shadow |
100/1(-203%) | (3) Gers Shadow 100/1, Vadamos mare who was sent off at long odds and never figured when twelfth of 16 in bumper at Cork (2m, soft, 66/1) on NH debut 14 days ago. Made little impression when well beaten in Cork bumper a fortnight ago; unlikely to figure. |
QUATRAIN worryingly disappointed here earlier this month but contests a weak race and had previously shown nice form. She needs to return to the form shown in maidens in 2024 but seems ideally suited by this distance and also likes this all-weather surface. Ocean Diamond made her belated career debut here in December wearing a tongue-tie and while she started a strong favourite, seemed to disappoint. That tongue-tie is notably left off today and improvement should be expected. Vierson was probably unsuited by heavy ground when disappointing on her previous run last October. She had shown form earlier that month at Bellewstown but now reverts down to a much shorter distance and lacks race-fitness.
QUATRAIN needs to dispel a lesser effort over further here 12 days ago, yet the pick of her exploits, including on this surface, give her solid claims in a maiden lacking depth and she's selected to bounce back. Bahama Bear and Vierson rate next best.
A modest affair can go the way of OCEAN DIAMOND, an expensive purchase who was sent off a well-backed favourite on her debut

1st (2) ![]() Pleasant Man |
4/1(+43%) | (2) Pleasant Man 4/1, Flat/hurdles scorer who ran best race since joining present yard when second of 8 in handicap at this course (11.1f) 7 days ago. Rider takes off a handy 7 lb if he can build on that back up in trip. Went close here last week and he's due to go back up 1lb in future; fighting chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) ![]() Robusto |
13/2(-86%) | (1) Robusto 13/2, Added to his tally at Kempton (2m) last summer. Ended last year below best but showed benefit of a 4-month break when runner-up back at aforementioned venue 23 days ago. Respected from unchanged mark with a repeat. Rebounded with close second at Kempton on reappearance; likely player off same mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) ![]() Swinging London |
5/2(+17%) | (7) Swinging London 5/2, Enjoying a very productive winter, capitalising on the drop back down in grade when making it 3 wins from his last 4 starts in a C&D handicap 7 days ago, always fending off a progressive rival (the pair clear). Possibilities under a penalty. Incurs 4lb penalty and goes back up in grade but warrants respect in current form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) ![]() Sir Geoff Hurst |
11/2(+54%) | (5) Sir Geoff Hurst 11/2, Showed much more than previously after 13 months off when runner-up on qualifying run at Newcastle (12.5f) in December. Not seen to best effect when ninth of 11 on handicap debut at Kempton 2 weeks later but his mark does demand more in any case. Possibly bounced last time; rested 44 days since and may progress. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) ![]() Nibiru |
16/1(-167%) | (3) Nibiru 16/1, Temperamental but capable sort who resumed winning ways with a tongue tie refitted in 7-runner handicap here (16.5f) 6 weeks ago, leading final 100 yds. Nudged up only 1 lb and drop back in trip will hold no fears. Scored here last month on second Flat run for new yard; may remain competitive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) ![]() Optician |
11/4(+45%) | (4) Optician 11/4, All 5 career victories have come at Wolverhampton, the latest over this sort of trip in December. Wasn't disgraced when third of 7 in handicap at that venue 4 weeks ago and, boasting an excellent record when partnered by Rossa Ryan, he's fancied to be in the shake up. Recent form includes a December win that took his record under Rossa Ryan to 3-4. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) ![]() Educator |
16/1(-60%) | (6) Educator 16/1, Twice a winner earlier in his career but winless in this sphere for Mick Appleby and no better than modest form in trio of maiden hurdle runs for present yard this winter. Returns to the Flat operating from career-low mark though, and booking of Hollie Doyle an obvious plus. 0-5 on AW but finished second off 3lb higher over C&D on last attempt. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) ![]() Percy Willis |
18/1(-50%) | (8) Percy Willis 18/1, Course winner. 10/1, creditable third of 6 in handicap at Newcastle (12.4f) 8 days ago. Present mark looks about right and this trip is probably at the limit of his stamina. Has done his winning at about 1m4f; stamina to prove back up in distance. |
SWINGING LONDON made it three wins from his last four appearances when defeating a progressive rival over C&D last Friday. The pair pulled well clear that day, so, despite having never defied a mark this high previously, the 4lb penalty incurred for that victory might not halt his progress. Recent course winner Nibiru is feared most, while others to consider include Robusto and Optician.
SWINGING LONDON capitalised on the drop back in class and continued his fine form when making it 3 wins from his last 4 starts over C&D 7 days ago and, in what looks an ordinary race for the grade, he may well be up to going in again under a penalty. Robusto and Optician may well be the pair to give John Mackie's charge most to think about.
Lawrence Mullaney's last two runners have won, which gives hope that PLEASANT MAN can build on last Friday's effort and go one better.

Should remain competitive. C&D winner won't have the services of 7lb claimer here so has a tough task at the weights. |

2nd (7) ![]() Elegant Madame |
12/1(+14%) | (7) Elegant Madame 12/1, 6/1, respectable fourth of 14 in handicap at this course (6f) 63 days ago. Significantly back up in trip which looks sure to suit and could go well. Stuck to her task well here when fourth over 6f in November; back up in trip should suit. |

3rd (9) ![]() Ransom |
16/1(+20%) | (9) Ransom 16/1, Unreliable individual. 3-time C&D winner. Bit below form fifth of 13 in handicap (14/1) at this course (7f) 21 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Well treated on the pick of his older form but he hasn't looked like a winner in waiting. |

6/1(+40%) | (10) Free Solo 6/1, Course winner. Creditable fourth of 13 in handicap at this C&D (7/2) 4 days ago. Likely to give another good account. Form closely tied in with Cousin Shay; respectable fourth here on Monday but needs more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) ![]() Comfort Line |
14/1(+0%) | (6) Comfort Line 14/1, 4-time C&D winner who wasn't on a going day when only seventh of 8 in handicap at this C&D 14 days ago. Bounce back needed. Below his best over C&D when last seen but went close when third off this mark last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (3) ![]() Punk Poet |
12/1(+25%) | (3) Punk Poet 12/1, 5-time C&D winner who is operating below his best at present, only eighth of 9 in handicap at this course (7f) 44 days ago. Five wins over C&D; down the field in a hot handicap latest; this is a big drop in class. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (13) ![]() Cousin Shay |
10/3(+17%) | (13) Cousin Shay 10/3, 3-time C&D winner. Career best when winning 11-runner handicap at this course (10.7f, 11/10) 17 days ago, comfortably. Back down in trip and likely to go well again. Comes here in fine form; further 8lb hike combined with a wide draw makes life tougher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (2) ![]() Zipster |
7/2(+42%) | (2) Zipster 7/2, Latest win at Southwell in August. 10/3, good fourth of 11 in handicap at Southwell (8.1f) 102 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Simon & Ed Crisford. Shortlist material. Two wins last year; 1st run for stable that landed a double here two weeks ago; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (14) ![]() Nika Pika |
33/1(+18%) | (14) Nika Pika 33/1, Fourteen runs since last win in 2023. 16/1, eighth of 10 in handicap at this course (7f) 14 days ago. 3rd over 1m4f here on penultimate start but never a factor here over 7f a fortnight ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (4) ![]() Tribal Moon |
15/2(-25%) | (4) Tribal Moon 15/2, Career best when winning 10-runner handicap at this C&D (11/2) 17 days ago by ½ length from Morning Approach, keeping on well. Should remain competitive. Dual C&D winner effectively only 1lb higher here as Harnett claims 5lb; likes to lead. |
TRIBAL MOON has done well at this venue in recent runs and might follow up his two recent course-and-distance wins. He defeated Morning Approach by a half-length to win here earlier this month and while now 4lb worse off and competing from a career high rating, is just a four-year-old so might continue to progress some more. Morning Approach has obvious claims and is able at this level but is more exposed. Cousin Shay has been in excellent form and won over a longer distance recently but the six-year-old must now compete from a career-high mark.
ZIPSTER looked unlucky not to finish closer on his final outing for the Crisfords at Southwell in October and remains of firm interest on his first start for his new yard. Cousin Shay and Free Solo are a couple of potential threats in a highly competitive big-field handicap.
Ger O'Leary has hit the ground running at Dundalk this year and ZIPSTER can get off the mark on his Irish/stable debut

1st (5) ![]() Champagne Prince |
1/1(+9%) | (5) Champagne Prince 1/1, Smart colt. Course winner. 2/1, career best when winning 5-runner listed race at Kempton (12f) 51 days ago by ¾ length from Eydon, having run of race but always holding the runner-up. 2 lb worse off but may uphold the form. Saw off Eydon in Listed event at Kempton in December; goes well on AW and could follow up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) ![]() Eydon |
10/11(+24%) | (2) Eydon 10/11, Smart horse. 13/8, bit below form ¾-length second of 5 to Champagne Prince in listed race at Kempton (12f) 51 days ago. Shouldn't be much between them again. Second to Champagne Prince at Kempton last time and closely matched with that rival again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) ![]() Claymore |
14/1(+0%) | (1) Claymore 14/1, Useful gelding. Fourteen runs since last win in 2022. Last of 9 in handicap (18/1) at Newcastle (10.2f) 14 days ago. Has a fair amount to prove at present. Last two runs have been poor and his losing sequence stretches back to June 2022. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) ![]() Intinso |
20/1(-25%) | (3) Intinso 20/1, Useful gelding. 14/1, first run since leaving John & Thady Gosden cheaply when creditable third of 6 in handicap at Wolverhampton (12.2f) 36 days ago. May strip fitter with that under his belt. Fair third at Wolverhampton on stable debut; not without hope if building on that. |
Although EYDON arrives on the back of a close-up second behind reopposing winner Champagne Prince in a Listed event at Kempton, a 2lb pull could make all the difference. The six-year-old was given too much to do in a short space of time on that occasion and a more aggressive ride may see Andrew Balding's inmate coming out on top. Fellow in-form rival Intinso may chase the aforementioned pair home.
CHAMPAGNE PRINCE was better than ever when seeing off Eydon at Kempton last month and while he came in for a good ride on the day and is 2 lb worse off, he may well come out on top again.
Runner-up Eydon has a 2lb pull at the weights but CHAMPAGNE PRINCE is improving and taken to follow up his recent Kempton win.

1st (3) ![]() Persian Bliss |
9/4(+55%) | (3) Persian Bliss 9/4, Thrice-raced course winner (at 10.7f) who quickly dispelled a lesser effort when third of 7 in handicap at this course (16f) 63 days ago. Down in trip and he could yet have more to offer. Won over C&D on debut in October, stamina was stretched over 2m here last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) ![]() Golden Temple |
11/4(+50%) | (5) Golden Temple 11/4, Fairly useful gelding. Nineteenth of 20 in handicap hurdle at Leopardstown (23.4f, good, 25/1) 34 days ago. Blinkers/tongue tie worn for his 3 career victories refitted here and bounce back anticipated. Useful overall credentials but needs to bounce back from a poor handicap hurdle run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) ![]() Migdam |
8/1(+0%) | (2) Migdam 8/1, Fairly useful gelding. Course winner. Last of 8 in handicap at this course (8f, 17/2) 14 days ago. Significantly back up in trip. Visor on 1st time. Best form early in career, weak handicap form here lately over a range of distances. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) ![]() Polemon |
9/4(+65%) | (4) Polemon 9/4, Fairly useful gelding. 18/1, good fourth of 11 in handicap at this C&D 21 days ago, left poorly placed. Another entitled to be in the mix in a competitive heat. Has won three of his nine Flat starts since joining Denis Hogan, fourth three weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) ![]() Mo Ghille Mar |
5/1(-82%) | (1) Mo Ghille Mar 5/1, Fairly useful filly who improved on hurdles debut form without looking a natural when third of 6 in a Fairyhouse juvenile (2m) 3 weeks ago. Respected back in this sphere making polytrack debut. Useful middle-distance performer, suited by good ground, fit from hurdling in good races. |
MO GHILLE MAR debuts on the all-weather but is race-fit from hurdling and had shown good form on the Flat last year. The selection was suited by fast ground on turf so should handle this surface and while well held on her latest Flat runs, those were in smart races and her latest hurdle run at Fairyhouse proved her well-being. Persian Bliss defeated Pearl Jewel to win on his debut here in October and while well beaten long distances in better races since then, he finished third and ahead of plenty rivals here in November over a longer distance. Polemon wasn't beaten far in a recent course-and-distance handicap.
GOLDEN TEMPLE clearly wasn't himself on his latest hurdles run 5 weeks ago but he'd previously ran well at this venue so, with his usual headgear combination refitted, he's given the vote to quickly bounce back. Pearl Jewel and Mo Ghille Mar are others to consider in a tricky contest to unravel.
The two fillies may dominate here. PEARL JEWEL is an established performer at this venue and may have the measure of Mo Ghille Mar

1st (4) ![]() Rubellite |
7/2(-75%) | (4) Rubellite 7/2, Modest mare. Latest win at Newcastle in January. Respectable second of 9 in minor event (15/8) at this course (11.1f) 17 days ago, no match for winner. Shortlist material for in-form yard. In good form, winning 1m4f classified at Newcastle before catching a tartar here since. |

2nd (7) ![]() Zooks |
7/4(+61%) | (7) Zooks 7/4, Modest mare. Good second of 11 in handicap (13/2) at Chelmsford City (14f) 22 days ago, no match for winner. Cheekpieces on first time and he can make his presence felt. No win yet but not far away in last 5 handicaps, including here (1m3f/1m6f); down in class. |

25/1(+24%) | (9) Leon Trotsky 25/1, Modest gelding. Last of 11 in handicap at Chelmsford City (14f, 14/1) 22 days ago, slowly away. Makes tapeta debut. Best effort so far when a close 3rd over 1m6f at Chelmsford; moderate since; Tapeta debut. |

4th (5) ![]() Snapius |
10/3(+58%) | (5) Snapius 10/3, Poor gelding. Eleven runs since last win in 2022. 11/2, eighth of 10 in handicap hurdle at Leicester (15.5f, heavy) 10 days ago, finding little. Back on the level and he's certainly in the right hands. Hurdle winner in December; not ruled out back at 1m4f and down in grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) ![]() Pittsburg |
11/1(-57%) | (2) Pittsburg 11/1, Modest gelding. One win from 22 Flat runs. Very good fourth of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (12.2f, 40/1) 25 days ago. Task is to now back that up. No standout at the weights but in form and he acts well on this surface; not dismissed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) ![]() Velvet Vulcan |
17/2(+58%) | (6) Velvet Vulcan 17/2, Modest gelding. 20/1, tenth of 12 in handicap at this C&D 90 days ago. Good chance on the pick of his form in early 2024 but at rather low ebb in recent starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) ![]() Bay Of Naples |
5/1(+44%) | (1) Bay Of Naples 5/1, Modest gelding. C&D winner. Eighteen runs since last win in 2023. Seventh of 10 in handicap (8/1) at Wolverhampton (12.2f) 46 days ago. Since undergone a breathing op. Infrequent winner now but consistent and went close over 1m3f here in October; had wind op. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) ![]() Recorwoman |
50/1(-525%) | (3) Recorwoman 50/1, Unreliable individual. 16/1, respectable third of 9 in minor event at this course (11.1f) 17 days ago, very slowly away. Needs everything to fall right. Both wins on testing turf; encouraging 3rd to an improver and Rubellite over 1m3f latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) ![]() Lady Birdie |
40/1(-150%) | (8) Lady Birdie 40/1, Modest filly. Eighth of 10 in minor event at Kempton (11f, 16/1) 23 days ago. Cheekpieces added to tongue tie. In the frame 4 times; vulnerable in classifieds so far; now goes in cheekpieces. |
RUBELLITE did little wrong when finding only a subsequent winner too strong over 1m3f here 17 days ago. An extra furlong is likely to suit Stella Barclay's mare if judged on her penultimate victory over an extended 1m4f distance at Newcastle and compensation could be in the offing. Bay Of Naples should prove more competitive now pitched into classified company and the veteran is likely to enter calculations along with Zooks.
RUBELLITE represents an in-form yard and having backed up her Newcastle win when runner-up here last week, she will take some stopping. Zooks should be a factor again, while Bay of Naples is also dangerous in this grade if a breathing operation has had the desired effect.
If his latest wind surgery has helped, then BAY OF NAPLES would have good claims on the pick of his course form this winter.

7/2(+65%) | (15) Darkened 7/2, C&D winner. Three wins from 63 Flat runs. 10/1, respectable fifth of 10 in handicap at this course (12f) 4 days ago. RESERVE. Versatile sort, fifth over 1m4f here on Monday, stable in good form; reserve. |

5th (1) ![]() Doctor Grace |
14/1(-40%) | (1) Doctor Grace 14/1, C&D winner. Respectable fifth of 10 in handicap (10/1) at this C&D 17 days ago. Fifth on last two starts, potentially interesting with former pony racing star aboard. |

6th (4) ![]() Reclaim |
5/1(+17%) | (4) Reclaim 5/1, 4/1, creditable fourth of 10 in handicap at this C&D 17 days ago. One to consider., Becoming expensive to follow but a breakthrough win is not out of the question. |

7th (9) ![]() Is She Now |
14/1(+50%) | (9) Is She Now 14/1, Bit below form seventh of 14 in handicap (28/1) at this course (12f) 42 days ago. Not taken lightly. Fair third over C&D in December, not as good over 1m4f six weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (13) ![]() Together Aclaim |
16/1(-167%) | (13) Together Aclaim 16/1, C&D winner. One win from 32 Flat runs. One win from 3 runs last year. Creditable third of 11 in handicap at this C&D (28/1) 17 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Was having his 30th start when opening his account a year ago, ran well on reappearance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) ![]() Shining Aitch |
28/1(+15%) | (2) Shining Aitch 28/1, C&D winner. Eleven runs since last win in 2024. 50/1, tenth of 13 in claimer at this C&D 4 days ago. Blinkers back on. Big price when down the field in a claimer on Monday, four AW wins to his name. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (14) ![]() Wayside Lady |
20/1(+39%) | (14) Wayside Lady 20/1, 40/1, respectable fifth of 11 in handicap at this C&D 51 days ago. Has work to do. Yet to make the frame in 15 races, one of her better efforts when fifth over C&D on latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (12) ![]() Hialeah |
11/1(+21%) | (12) Hialeah 11/1, Respectable sixth of 12 in handicap at this course (8f, 11/1) 21 days ago. Significantly back up in trip. Runner-up on turf in 2023 but regressive since, sixth and not disgraced on last two runs. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (11) ![]() Gear Flat |
14/1(+13%) | (11) Gear Flat 14/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 28/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, creditable sixth of 13 in handicap at this C&D 79 days ago. Modest maiden form, some encouragement may stem from her sixth over C&D on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (6) ![]() Snag It |
14/1(-40%) | (6) Snag It 14/1, C&D winner. Eleven runs since last win in 2023. 11/1, ninth of 13 in claimer at this C&D 4 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Down the field in a claimer on Monday, previous handicap fourth was respectable. |
RECLAIM seemed to show a little more when upped to this distance here earlier this month and should compete. The selection is a 10-race maiden and did once try 1m2f on turf, but this surface seems to suit him and he looks sure to run another consistent race. Si Senior himself tried this distance for the first time when running well in a recent course claimer. He reverts back to handicaps now and should again compete. Three-time winner Doctor Grace is ideally suited by this distance and has been running well enough from similar ratings recently and can get involved under his 10lb claimer.
RANKO EXPRESS had an excuse here last time and is given another chance to confirm the promise of his close third over C&D prior to that. Chopsticks, Reclaim and Together Aclaim complete the shortlist in a competitive finale.
Plenty to consider here. A hopeful vote goes to RANKO EXPRESS who went close over C&D on his penultimate start

2nd (6) ![]() Zafaan |
5/2(+58%) | (6) Zafaan 5/2, Modest gelding. 7/2, respectable third of 9 in novice hurdle at Fakenham (16f, soft) 30 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Modest on the Flat and now goes up in trip. Placed in two maiden hurdles for new stable; likely player on these terms. |

5/2(0%) | (1) Dee's Dream 5/2, Modest mare. One win from 22 Flat runs. 9/2, good third of 12 in minor event at Newcastle (12.4f) 29 days ago. This looks her optimum trip and she has to be taken seriously. Close third in similar event at Newcastle last month on classified debut; possibilities. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) ![]() Uther Pendragon |
40/1(-150%) | (5) Uther Pendragon 40/1, Modest gelding. Course winner. Twenty five runs since last win in 2023. 66/1, tenth of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (16.6f) 36 days ago. Back down in trip. On a long losing sequence; others preferred. |

5th (7) ![]() Cookie Queen |
10/1(+17%) | (7) Cookie Queen 10/1, Modest filly. First run since leaving Tony Coyle & Kaine Wood when fourth of 7 in handicap at Newcastle (12.4f, 10/1) 17 days ago. Not easy to make a case for. Has something to find on ratings but may improve; second run for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) ![]() Gentle Fire |
33/1(-175%) | (2) Gentle Fire 33/1, Modest mare. Twelve runs since last win in 2023. 66/1, ninth of 11 in handicap at Lingfield (12f, AW) 31 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Has achieved little in two runs for new stable; opposed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) ![]() Winding Road |
80/1(-220%) | (9) Winding Road 80/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Last of 7 in novice at Newcastle (12.4f, 200/1) 23 days ago. More needed. Far from solid on her novice form; could improve for this drop in grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) ![]() The Resdev Way |
7/2(-75%) | (4) The Resdev Way 7/2, Modest gelding. Course winner. Latest win at Wolverhampton in November. 15/2, good third of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (12.2f) 25 days ago, needing stiffer test. Has good chance on form. Still capable of being competitive despite his advancing years; in the mix. |
THE RESDEV WAY returned to form with a solid third in a class 6 handicap at Wolverhampton earlier this month and he makes plenty of appeal reverting to classified company. The majority of these have something to prove at present, so this looks a suitable opportunity for the veteran to land a 14th career victory. Dee's Dream appreciated the step up in trip when hitting the frame at Newcastle and she's worth a second look, along with Zafaan.
THE RESDEV WAY needs a good test of stamina over this trip but this veteran should be a major player in this grade. Dee's Dream is second choice, ahead of Zafaan back on the level.
Kept to this level, DEE'S DREAM may build on her latest effort and record a first AW win. Smokey Malone is second choice.

1st (10) ![]() Joolianoss |
5/4(+58%) | (10) Joolianoss 5/4, C&D winner arrives here chasing a hat-trick. Career best when winning 9-runner handicap (7/4) at Newcastle (10.2f) 10 days ago, winning with a bit in hand and now carries a 5 lb penalty for his troubles. Back down to a mile today and should give another good account. Form figures of 311 since handicapping; badly treated under a penalty but he's progressive. |

2nd (8) ![]() Kingdom Of Time |
40/1(-300%) | (8) Kingdom Of Time 40/1, Fair form in pair of turf maidens for Charlie Appleby in 2023. Gelded for new yard but only moderate form shown in two starts, latest when fifth of 9 in novice at Newcastle (8f) 21 days ago. Needs to improve now handicapping. Has steadily regressive RPRs; could turn things around now handicapping. |

3rd (6) ![]() Mr Mistoffelees |
33/1(+0%) | (6) Mr Mistoffelees 33/1, Lost his way for Hughie Morrison having been fairly useful on the Flat. Reported to have had breathing problem when pulled-up on hurdles bow for new yard and returns to the Level today with something to prove. Pulled up (made a respiratory noise) in novice hurdle last month on debut for new yard. |

4th (1) ![]() Not Me |
10/3(+44%) | (1) Not Me 10/3, Thrice-raced maiden. Second of 10 in a maiden at Kempton (8f, 4/1), having been well-backed. Off 10 months and one to note in the betting on handicap debut. Solid effort in Kempton maiden when last seen; open to progress in handicaps; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) ![]() The Cookstown Cafu |
14/1(-40%) | (2) The Cookstown Cafu 14/1, Latest win at Newcastle in October. Sixth of 8 in handicap at Newcastle (8f, 9/2) 41 days ago, made little impression from 2f out. Visor on first time and that needs to spark an improvement. Below par last twice; chance of rebound depends on how well he responds to new headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) ![]() Youarenotforgiven |
9/1(+10%) | (9) Youarenotforgiven 9/1, Has been giving himself too much to do in races, often starting slowly. 14/1 and cheekpieces on for first time when fifth of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 35 days ago, running on from the rear. Capable but needs to avoid another tardy start. Yet to win on AW; chance of improvement depends on whether the cards drop right. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) ![]() Commander Of Life |
13/2(-44%) | (5) Commander Of Life 13/2, Has finished in the frame on his last three visits to this track. Cheekpieces on for first time seemingly made the difference last time, produced a career-best when winning 11-runner handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 13 days ago. Has to enter calculations again on the back of that effort. Took well to cheekpieces at Wolverhampton two weeks ago; respected in retained headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) ![]() Dawn Of Liberation |
12/1(+25%) | (7) Dawn Of Liberation 12/1, Twenty runs since last win in 2022. Forgivable effort when bit below form sixth of 10 in a handicap (9/1) at Wolverhampton (8.6f) at the end of last season. He has gone well fresh in the past and cannot be dismissed making his reappearance. Stagnated towards the end of last term but market support should be heeded on reappearance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) ![]() Master Of Combat |
7/2(+13%) | (4) Master Of Combat 7/2, Enjoyed most of his success at Wolverhampton, another solid effort when second of 6 in handicap at Lingfield (8f, AW), having been well-placed in a steadily run affair. Arrives here in good heart and can run well again for yard that is going well. Creditable second at Lingfield last time; has a consistent record at Southwell; solid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (3) ![]() Warren Hill |
40/1(-300%) | (3) Warren Hill 40/1, Latest win at Windsor in July. Ran better under today's jockey when fifth of 7 (10f Chelmsford) earlier this month and has each-way claims dropping back in trip, representing yard in good form. All wins over 1m2f; drops back to 1m for first time since 2023; not the percentage call. |
Joolianoss struck by half a length over 1m2f at Newcastle after his C&D victory and should mount a bold bid in his attempt to complete a hat-trick. However, the vote goes to MASTER OF COMBAT, who has filled the runner-up spot on each of his last two starts, most recently in this grade at Lingfield. Kevin Frost's seven-year-old goes off a 1lb higher mark and could be the one to beat. The Cookstown Cafu isn't out of it either.
COMMANDER OF LIFE was seemingly reinvigorated by first-time cheekpieces when winning at Wolverhampton 13 days ago and a 3 lb rise from the handicapper may not be enough to stop him here. C&D winner JOOLIANOSS carries a 5 lb penalty for his latest win but is respected in his bid for a hat-trick, while Youarenotforgiven would hold every chance if able break on terms. Dawn of Liberation has gone well fresh in the past and could outrun his odds in what looks a competitive affair.
Judged on the strength of his maiden form, interesting handicap debutant NOT ME (nap) looks capable of defying top weight.

1st (6) ![]() Legal Reform |
9/4(+68%) | (6) Legal Reform 9/4, 3-time C&D winner. Latest win here in January. 15/2, good second of 11 in handicap at this C&D 16 days ago, bumping into a well-treated rival. One for the shortlist. Three C&D wins, the most recent on penultimate start; ran well here latest; solid chance. |

2nd (3) ![]() Diamondonthehill |
9/1(+0%) | (3) Diamondonthehill 9/1, Had excuses on first run since leaving Michael Dods but bounced back last-time when third of 7 in handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f, 66/1) 27 days ago, travelled well and good claims if he can prove as effective back at 7f. Belied his 66-1 odds at Wolverhampton last time, seeming to produce his best AW effort. |

3rd (8) ![]() Abruzzo Mia |
25/1(-79%) | (8) Abruzzo Mia 25/1, Latest win at Thirsk in July. 9/1, respectable sixth of 13 in handicap at Ayr (7.2f, good) and seemingly finding life tough off this kind of mark. Off 113 days but has run well fresh in the past. Competitively weighted but nearly all of his AW form is at Newcastle; bit to prove. |

4th (2) ![]() Brasil Power |
13/2(+54%) | (2) Brasil Power 13/2, Latest win at Kempton in August. 20/1, respectable sixth of 12 in handicap at Lingfield (8f, AW) 13 days ago, hampered and not seen to best effect. Blinkers on first time but needs to step up on latest effort. Out of the money in better races this winter; should benefit from this drop back in grade. |

5th (1) ![]() Tiger Crusade |
3/1(-50%) | (1) Tiger Crusade 3/1, C&D winner. ended a long losing run with a bit to spare last time, making the most of a drop in grade to win a 9-runner handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 24 days ago, well on top at finish. Excellent chance running in the same grade off 3 lb higher mark. Won at Wolverhampton last time and still looks favourably treated on historical data. |

6th (5) ![]() Ziggy's Condor |
8/1(0%) | (5) Ziggy's Condor 8/1, Not disgraced when 5 lengths fourth of 12 to Legal Reform in handicap at this C&D 28 days ago. Cheekpieces back on today and holds each-way prospects. Back in better form since switched to AW, making the frame over C&D most recently. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) ![]() Wilde And Dandy |
4/1(+20%) | (9) Wilde And Dandy 4/1, C&D winner. Latest win here in December. 9/4, creditable second of 12 in handicap at this C&D 34 days ago and entitled to be in the mix again. Ran well over C&D last time and that form has worked out nicely; respected off same mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) ![]() Mitrosonfire |
16/1(-60%) | (4) Mitrosonfire 16/1, Twenty two runs since last win in 2022. Below form fifth of 10 in a handicap at Newmarket (7f, good to firm, 9/2) back in June. Off 7 months and tough ask to take this on comeback. Losing spell goes back to 2022; absent since last June; not the percentage call. |
Wilde And Dandy remains in good heart after taking the silver medal home over C&D on his latest outing and is likely to be thereabouts off an unchanged mark. However, it may pay to side with LEGAL REFORM, who finished second over track and trip earlier in the month and is only 1lb higher. If he can run to a similar level, then he may prove hard to beat. Last-time-out Wolverhampton scorer Tiger Crusade is another to watch out for.
TIGER CRUSADE scored in this grade earlier this month and faced with another 0-85 handicap here, he looks to have an excellent chance of following up that victory. Richard Kingscote is 1-1 on C&D winner Legal Reform, so he should run well along with Diamondonthehill who looks interesting dropped back to 7f having travelled well over an extended mile last time.
With the form of his latest C&D effort working out well, WILDE AND DANDY is preferred. Legal Reform is second choice.
Ths is the racecard key.
