(8) Truly Yours 10/1, €23,000 3-y-o, Ol' Man River mare. Half-sister to fairly useful hurdler Milliner, stayed 3m, and fair hurdler Do Ya Feel Lucky, stayed 3¼m. Dam, ran once in bumper, half-sister to useful hurdler/smart chaser (stayed 2½m) Carthalawn. Interesting newcomer.
23,000euros 3yo; half-sister to two winners; no surprise to see a good run on debut.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content,

A promising second on her debut at Wetherby, AMELIA'S STAR is likely to have plenty more improvement forthcoming and she can put that experience to good use on this occasion. She gets the vote ahead of newcomer Ce Mi Run, who is out of a winning jumper in France and hails from a yard that knows how to ready one first time out. The Nigel Twiston-Davies stable has been in excellent form of late, which bodes well for another debutant in the shape of Truly Yours.

AMELIA'S STAR had to come from further back than ideal when second in a bumper at Wetherby a couple of months ago and there's a good chance she can go one better with a performance of similar merit. Ce Mi Run makes plenty of appeal on paper first time out and Arctic Duchess is quite closely matched with the selection on form.

Ce Mi Run is an interesting newcomer but preference is for AMELIA'S STAR, who was a promising second on her debut at Wetherby.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

ELLAAT hasn't run in 349 days but showed form last season and returns in a weak race. He has led a colourful life and could still retain ability aged nine, with connections likely to have had this race in mind for some weeks. Hascoeur Clermont is an able staying chaser on his day, but was well held on recent runs and has appeared just once over hurdles since September 2022. Optional Mix is rated 124 over fences and while she needs to recapture her old form, first-time cheekpieces are applied and her rider claims 7lb. Away He Goes, runner-up in the 2021 Goodwood Cup, tries hurdling but is a light of former years.

EMBITTERED isn't the easiest to weigh up at present but this represents a big drop in class. Ellaat is a potential player on his belated return to hurdles, with Hascoeur Clermont and Away He Goes best of the others.

A chance is taken on HASCOEUR CLERMONT who has won on heavy ground and his trainer has a 25% strike rate in claimers.

(3) Walkinthecotswolds 6/1, Showed ability in maiden/novice company prior to finishing second on Southwell handicap debut last March. Good reappearance fourth at Ffos Las was followed by a poor effort at the same course but there was a valid excuse (said to have had a breathing problem) and she has since undergone a wind op.

Failed to build on that at the same course next time but it's far too soon to write this 5-y-o off.

Three-time AW winner but has been soundly beaten on all nine starts over hurdles..
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

NIGHT JET is probably the safest option after posting a couple of more assured efforts since he clipped heels and fell at Stratford three starts back, with last month's second-placed finish over 2m at Uttoxeter creating hope for another decent showing. Although well held by the winner that day, he did his best work at the finish and stepping back up in trip should be a good move. Arctic Angel and Home And Dry can give Tom Symonds' gelding the most to think about.

It's fair to say that NIGHT JET has already had plenty of chances but he is nevertheless appealing in a race of this nature. Indeed, he at least arrives here in good form whereas many of his rivals have questions to answer for one reason or another. Home And Dry could be a threat on his handicap debut in this sphere and is second choice ahead of Walkinthecotswolds, for whom there was a valid excuse at Ffos Las last time, and Taritino.

This looks to be a golden opportunity for NIGHT JET to get off the mark over hurdles. The main danger could be Walkinthecotswolds.

(9) Wats On Lady 80/1, Rajasinghe filly. Dam maiden on Flat (stayed 11f). Not much to go on pedigree wise and stable not renowned for debut winners.
Fourth foal; dam placed 1m3f/1m4f AW (RPR 71); she's probably best watched on debut.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content,

A 90,000-pounds purchase as a two-year-old, BLUE BETTY looks to have been found a nice opportunity on debut by shrewd connections and she can strike at the first time of asking. Girl Of Gold showed a modicum of improvement from her first to her second start when fifth at Doncaster in November and is likely to have a say, along with Scavengers Reign, who comes from the point-to-point scene.

BLUE BETTY is from a good family and with a yard that can get one ready first time out, so she's worth a chance to make a winning debut. Scavengers Reign is an interesting recruit from points and Centurion's Sister should be able to better her debut at Carlisle.

Fergal O'Brien does very well in mares' bumpers and his debutante BLUE BETTY earns the vote ahead of Scavengers Reign.

BIRDSANDTHEBEES has failed to win in nine previous hurdle attempts, but managed a chase victory last October and now reverts to an ordinary race in this discipline. Her timber form is unexciting and she wouldn't like really testing ground but she has a chase rating of 97, is in-form, and her rider claims 7lb. Maciver was left clear at the final fence when scoring by 25 lengths at Thurles but although he scored over hurdles in 2022, seems a better chaser nowadays. Annamaymurt finished second in a course unplaced horses' maiden over Christmas and should compete, despite struggling in one previous handicap attempt.

Chase-scorer BIRDSANDTHEBEES is able to run off a much lower mark in this sphere and having highlighted her well-being with a good second over larger obstacles here 33 days ago, she could well be the answer. Handicap-debutant Roc My Haarth and Gracon Doux head up the dangers ahead of Maciver.

Preference is for ANNAMAYMURT who shaped well in a maiden over 2m3f here last time and he should appreciate this longer trip.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

INTOSOMETHINGGOOD appeals after outrunning triple-figure odds to finish third in a Listed bumper at Cheltenham's New Year's Day fixture. With jumps winners in his pedigree and his yard in excellent form, the son of Dragon Dancer should be primed for another big run on his hurdles bow. Shareyourbiscuits is noteworthy on debut for a powerful yard, while Livingit Du Large failed to land a gamble when introduced at Warwick but should be wiser for the run and also commands respect.

LIVINGIT DU LARGE failed to justify strong support on his Warwick hurdling debut back in November but offered plenty to work on nonetheless and, with a good chunk of improvement anticipated, he's fancied to get off the mark at the second attempt. Intosomethinggood finished a good third under a change of tactics in a listed bumper at Cheltenham on New Year's Day and must enter calculations now switching to hurdling, with Shareyourbiscuits feared most of the newcomers before market clues.

Placed in a big-field Listed bumper four weeks ago, INTOSOMETHINGGOOD is taken to make a winning start to his hurdling career.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

FROMHERETOETERNITY looked to be booked for a highly creditable second in Listed company at Haydock before falling at the last and compensation may await. A taking winner at Hexham on her previous start, Jennie Candlish's eight-year-old should appreciate the drop back in trip, with the hat-trick-seeking Ascending Lark looking best placed to chase her home on handicap debut, despite having not run since last April. A respectable second over slightly further at Kelso, She's Notjoeking is another to consider.

Successful on each of her 2 starts in mares' maiden/novice hurdles upon joining Harry Derham last spring, ASCENDING LARK appeals as the type to progress further in handicaps this season, and she earns the vote to complete the hat-trick back from 9 months off. Fromheretoeternity and She's Notjoeking head up the dangers.

The very lightly raced 7yo ASCENDING LARK is 2-2 for Harry Derham and is taken to complete a hat-trick on her handicap debut.

SAINTE TARTARE ran well on her belated career debut in November and showed nice ability in a useful course maiden over Christmas. That form has worked out well, with the runner-up and fourth-placed horses scoring subsequently, and while she drops in distance, she has soft ground in her favour and seems to be reliable. Karamoja was placed in an Auteuil Listed hurdle in September 2023 and is closely matched with the selection on a strict formline through Uhavemeinstitches (at Clonmel). However, she is on a retrieval mission having pulled up here at the Festive meeting. Nastya has shown ability but needs to improve to win.

SAINTE TARTARE cemented the positive start made on debut at Tramore when finishing a good third in a mares' maiden over further here 32 days ago and she looks a big player here with further progress distinctly possible. Karamoja, another Willie Mullins' representative, holds solid claims on her best form and she's the lead threat. Nastya is fancied to emerge best of the others.

Willie Mullins is doubly represented. SAINTE TARTARE has shown enough in her two starts to get the vote over Karamoja

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

A winner over a similar trip at Taunton on his penultimate start, KING OF THE ROAD filled the runner-up spot in a decent-looking contest at Kempton on Boxing Day and is an attractive option bidding to add to his tally off just 2lb higher. Rula Bula, who arguably eclipsed her hurdles debut win at Market Rasen when she was second in a Listed race for mares at Newbury most recently, is feared most. Lanesborough is on a workable rating and can go well if building on his near miss at Hereford.

LANESBOROUGH readily surpassed the form shown in maidens and almost overcame an unfavourable position when a strong finishing second on handicap debut at Hereford 2 weeks ago. He's one to be firmly interested in on the back of that effort with the step up in trip here also expected to suit. Rula Bula rates a big threat following her listed Newbury second, with last-time-out winner Castelfort and King of The Road others considered in a competitive heat.

This may go to LANESBOROUGH who so nearly went from last to first when strong in the market for his handicap debut.

Although Aboutdamntime never threatened when finishing last in a Grade 2 at Cheltenham, the six-year-old must enter calculations if judged on his previous victory at Carlisle. Lawrenny scored at the second time of asking over hurdles at Wetherby and another bold bid looks assured. However, they may be worth taking on with hurdles/stable debutant JUPITER DES MOTTES, who created a fine impression when landing a Wetherby bumper in March last year.

LAWRENNY showed the benefit of his initial experience when landing a Wetherby novice last month and, with further improvement in the pipeline now stepping back up in trip, he's taken to defy a penalty. Young Getaway and Jupiter des Mottes are a couple of the others who deserve respect.

The step up in trip looks to be the right move for YOUNG GETAWAY, who has been a promising third on both hurdle starts.

The complexion of this race will change if second reserve Soir De Garde gets a run as the hurdling debutant holds a couple of entries at the Cheltenham Festival. There was a lot to like about BOWENSONFIRE's first crack at hurdling in Naas when he kept on to get up for third. He was beaten further into third at Punchestown, however, that winner is very smart. This looks an appropriate opportunity for him. Leeside Rock is an interesting newcomer as his half-brother is two from three over flights, while Kentucky Beach could build upon a third in a Tramore maiden hurdle.

It could be worth chancing point-winner YOULITA, who did all he could from his position when third in a steadily-run bumper at Fairyhouse in November and he appeals as the type to make his mark now hurdling for his new stable. Bowensonfire sets the form standard and is an obvious danger for all he may find this trip on the short side. Arch Hall and Kentucky Beach can also make the frame.

The well-bred KENTUCKY BEACH ran well on heavy ground on his hurdling debut after an absence at Tramore and he should improve plenty

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

Not beaten far on his first run back from wind surgery when second at Aintree last month, BOOSTER BOB is likely to improve for that effort and he remains unexposed over the larger obstacles. A mark of 126 may still underestimate him and he is narrowly preferred to Cabhfuilfungi, who could not have won any easier at Southwell on New Year's Day. Runner-up over further at Doncaster last time out, Idy Wood may have the pace to handle the drop in distance on this occasion.

CABHFUILFUNGI has improved for the switch to fences this season and looks the way to go after his easy win at Southwell on New Year's Day. Booster Bob is another who has made a positive start in this sphere and is feared most.

The pick is CABHFUILFUNGI (nap), who recorded a good time when winning a three-runner race by a wide margin this month.

TORNEO has been a model of consistency since being sent over fences and the five-year-old was able to record a deserved first chasing success at Taunton. Jamie Snowden's charge may well have more in his locker so a 5lb rise does not look harsh and he is taken to go in again. Cold Sobar finished third behind King Of Tara at Carlisle last month and although the latter has subsequently disappointed, neither should be underestimated.

TORNEO confirmed himself progressive in this sphere when scoring quite comfortably at Taunton and can strike again. The lightly-raced Cold Sobar was a good third to King of Tara at Carlisle on his chase bow after a lay-off and will surely improve on that.

The most progressive contender is the 5yo TORNEO (nap) who won last time and can go in again. The main danger is King Of Tara.

SNOW PUNT appeals on the back of a creditable second at Limerick over Christmas. He was only collared in the closing stages and the horse behind him in third came out and won in a higher grade at Navan. Moudan has been placed in his last couple of handicap hurdles at Tipperary and Clonmel, so has to be respected for Ciaran Murphy and Eoin Walsh. Road To The Weir has a decent third over C&D in November in the book, while Fernhill Fling's third at Wexford in October gives him a chance. The Sugarhill Lady dips her toes into handicap company for the first time and isn't without hope.

Having shown ability on each of her three starts in maiden company, THE SUGARHILL LADY has the look of a sure-fire improver now moving into a handicap off what looks a realistic opening mark. She earns the vote ahead of Snow Punt, who went down fighting in a big-field C&D handicap during the Christmas period and he will be a big threat if backing that up. Moudan is also shortlisted.

The form of the two races contested by MOUDAN (nap) this season suggests that he can win a race of this standard for Ciaran Murphy.

THE SCORPION KING continues to go from strength to strength and a 9lb rise for his most recent success over further at Ffos Las may not be enough to prevent Oliver Signy's charge from landing the hat-trick. That may be at the main expense of recent Lingfield winner Twilight Glory, who won here twice last year, including this contest off 16lb lower. Jo Lescribaa and My Mate Polly have the form to get involved in proceedings as well.

JO LESCRIBAA is already proving to be a much better chaser than hurdler and the way he went through the race when scoring at Uttoxeter 4 weeks ago suggests there's more to come from him in this sphere. The Scorpion King is thriving at the moment and is an obvious threat, with last year's winner Twilight Glory another who arrives at the top of their game.

Preference for JO LESCRIBAA who has low mileage and should have more to offer. Twilight Glory looks to be the main danger.

(5) If Not For Dylan 14/1, Multiple winner in this sphere for Andrew Hamilton, running right up to his best when scoring at Perth (30.5f) off 1 lb higher in spring 2023. Given a considerate ride following a 20-month layoff when starting out for this yard at Haydock and should come on for that.

Made a likeable start for this yard until bleeding last time; chance if the wheels stay on.

Cutting back in trip can assist JACKS PARROT, who was outstayed by the winner when finishing a clear second over an extended 3m1f in the Tommy Whittle at Haydock. Nudged up 1lb, the six-year-old has plenty more to offer and can gain a third success over fences since connections recruited him from France last year. Jet Legs is a notable threat with first-time cheekpieces potentially a source of improvement. Choosethenews also has the ability to figure, but needs to bounce back from a no-show at Carlisle.

JACKS PARROT confirmed himself still on the upgrade when an excellent second in the Tommy Whittle at Haydock and can resume winning ways back down in class. Prince des Fichaux and If Not For Dylan are both lurking on dangerous marks and rate the main threats.

Jacks Parrot is solid but a chance is taken on SANTONITO who had an excuse last time and his previous run reads really well.

THE DANCING TREE ploughed through testing ground to win his bumper by a healthy margin at this venue last year. He has faced tricky tasks in three maiden hurdles, but looks dangerous in his first handicap hurdle. Ballybrittas found the waters a bit deep when sixth in Leopardstown, but ought to be on the premises in this company. On his penultimate start, he won a maiden hurdle over a similar trip at this track. You Done Well gets first-time cheekpieces after two sixth places in big fields at Punchestown and Cork. He is in the hunt for a cheque.

YOU DONE WELL has already shown himself to be a better hurdler than he was on the Flat and the 4-y-o may well find a bit more now pitched into a handicap for the first time in this sphere. The Dancing Tree is also of interest now handicapping on the back of an encouraging effort at Punchestown and he is just about second choice ahead of Ballybrittas.

Course bumper winner THE DANCING TREE relished heavy ground here 12 months ago and can make a winning handicap debut

Picked up for 140,000 euros after landing a point-to-point at Ballysteen in April, and initially in the care of Laura Morgan before switching to Dan Skelton, QUEENS WISH made an impressive start to her career under Rules when bolting up at Newcastle recently. This isn't the deepest of contests in which to shoulder a penalty and she can repeat the dose with progress on the cards. Blazeon Five could build on her hurdling debut and is perhaps one of the main threats, while Paradise Park must also be considered.

BLAZEON FIVE, a progressive stayer on the Flat, understandably shaped as if better for the outing after more than a year off when fourth at Wincanton on last month's hurdling debut, and with much better to come as a hurdler with that run behind her, she's expected to lower the colours of likely favourite Queens Wish, who looked very professional when making a winning hurdling debut at Newcastle recently. Volakes could be the one to fill the places.

After cruising clear at Newcastle 12 days ago, QUEENS WISH can defy her penalty here before moving up in grade.

None of these are rock-solid, but perhaps REAGROVE LORD could be the answer if building on a near-miss under today's rider in a similar event at Ayr. His 4lb higher mark may look harsh on face value but, considering he was well clear of the rest in that race, this could still be well within reach. Authorized Mission and Lucky Soldier, who tries a first-time tongue-tie, lack consistency but can also figure prominently if on a going day.

This step up in trip could be just the ticket for WAINWRIGHT, who is entitled to come on for his handicap debut spin at Ayr where he was returning from a nine-month absence and, with just four runs under his belt, his best days are surely ahead of him. Glen Road is also likely to benefit from this stiffer test and he is feared most, although Authorized Mission is yet another who promises to be suited by going up in distance and is shortlisted, along with Lucky Soldier and Reagrove Lord.

Topweight GLEN ROAD is open to improvement now up in trip on his second handicap start and he earns the vote ahead of Reagrove Lord.

Point-to-point winner ROAD EXILE very nearly made a winning start to his track career when just pipped by a nose in a bumper over further at this track in December. He looks the one to beat in this field. Found A Diamond contested more than decent maiden hurdles at Punchestown and Leopardstown where he finished sixth and fifth respectively. He should be heavily involved reverting to a bumper. Spread Your Wings took fourth in an auction maiden hurdle at Listowel in September and that form is working out well. Mount Nelson gelding Watchful Protector starts out for Emmet Mullins and is well worth checking for market strength.

ROAD EXILE sets the standard based on his narrow second here a month ago and, if in the same form, he should be capable of going one better. Spread Your Wings is a player based on what she's achieved over hurdles and Watchful Protector is a notable newcomer for a shrewd outfit.

Unless Watchful Protector is above-average, this should be straightforward for ROAD EXILE, just denied here a month ago

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content,

A chance can be taken on MOSSY FEN ROAD, who is related to a couple of useful types, perhaps most notably Fury Road. Both were successful in bumpers and it would come as no surprise were he up to the task, although recent form of the Harry Derham yard would have to be a cause for concern. Big Cadillac fetched 95,000 pounds at the sales last February and is yet another interesting contender for the Skeltons, while others to note include Harmony Heights and the penalised Gentleman Toboot.

GENTLEMAN TOBOOT's Rules debut is strong form and he readily opened his account at Fontwell last time, so he's fancied to defy a penalty for all that this looks like much sterner opposition. Big Cadillac and Mossy Fen Road, both fellow point winners, could pose a big threat to the selection.

An interesting bumper. GENTLEMAN TOBOOT carries a penalty but it was very easy for him last time at Fontwell. He looks useful.

BEARAWAY struck at Lingfield last month and he went agonisingly close over the same C&D when 4lb higher recently. Simon Pearce's gelding has since been hit with a further 3lb hike but, given that he remains in such good form, the son of Kodiac ought to hold every chance of going one place better. Yeoman continues to knock at the door but although he is unlikely to be far away, Partisan Hero might be a bigger threat.

BEARAWAY was successful at Lingfield on his penultimate outing and shaped as if still ahead of his mark when runner-up there last time. He's marginally preferred to Yeoman and Partisan Hero, who also arrive at the top of their game.

Ex-Irish PARTISAN HERO is taken to record a first win since joining his new stable. Yeoman is second choice.

This is an excellent opportunity for TREASURE FLEET to double his tally, having won over C&D on his debut three weeks ago. The 800,000gns son of Kingman does not appear to have too much in the way of opposition and a penalty shouldn't be enough to stop him. Thermal Energy makes appeal on paper and warrants a market check. Island Hero, who shaped with some promise on his racecourse bow, heads the remainder.

TREASURE FLEET cost a good amount at the Breeze-Ups and overcame a pace bias to make a winning start over C&D with more in hand than the bare result. He's expected to defy the penalty unless Thermal Energy or Aqab prove to be above-average first time out.

The bare form of TREASURE FLEET's winning debut over C&D can't be rated too highly but the manner of it promised much better.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

Dash Power arrives following back-to-back second-placed efforts and he's entitled to go close once again, but the vote is handed to TWISTALINE. Mick Appleby's mare struggled at handicap level at Southwell a fortnight ago, but she filled the runner-up spot in a similar event there previously and this ease in grade could hold the key. Tenyatta has a chance on these terms and may well get involved on her stable debut.

A good opportunity for DASH POWER to finally get off the mark having been knocking on the door of late. Storm Asset is next best ahead of Twistaline.

In-form maiden DASH POWER is taken to get off the mark. Twistaline looks a danger returned to this grade.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

The runner-up in two similar events before again going close in a handicap most recently, CHERRY KING is the clear form pick and holds obvious claims back in a classified stakes. Lady Ava should also be suited by the terms of the race and is notable on her first run in an event of this nature. However, the less-exposed Melsmay could pose a bigger threat to the selection if building on a respectable third at this level at Southwell.

MARVELLOUS LADY has joined a trainer who has an excellent record with new recruits so she shades the vote over Cherry King, who continues to run well. Melsmay ran her best race when third at Southwell and has place claims.

Cherry King is the solid option but MARVELLOUS LADY offered flashes of ability in Ireland and is intriguing on her stable debut.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

DESTRUCTIVE, a comfortable winner of a maiden over C&D 17 days ago who also ran well in a Listed event for three-year-olds in the UAE last year, could be a blot on the handicap from a rating of 85 after that convincing return. Fast Society has scope to progress this year and is dangerous to underestimate on just his second attempt in handicap company. Invincible Aura and Road To Wembley are others to consider.

INVINCIBLE AURA has looked better than ever since returning from a short break, resuming winning ways at Lingfield (1m) prior to finishing a solid third back at that track/trip 10 days ago. He looks to hold solid claims again and shades the vote ahead of recent C&D maiden winner Destructive. Low-mileage 4-y-o Fast Society could also have more to offer with a recent run under his belt.

Destructive can go well back in a handicap but FAST SOCIETY is unexposed and can leave last month's reappearance behind him.

(6) Standput 5/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 150/1, third of 10 in novice at Kempton (7f) 48 days ago, plugging on. Needs to find some improvement for the switch to handicaps.
Improved run when third of ten at Kempton (7f) seven weeks ago; can do better but needs to.

(7) Bad Habits 18/1, Kodiac gelding. 22/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, ninth of 11 in handicap at Kempton (7f) 13 days ago. Probably too soon to be writing him off, so interesting if market vibes proved positive with blinkers now the headgear of choice.
Not progressed from a debut third, including on handicap debut latest; new headgear today.

9/4(+32%)
(1) This Farh 9/4, Far Above gelding who ran his best race when again finding only one too good in 7-runner maiden at Chelmsford (6f) 19 days ago. Step back up in trip will hold no fears and he's respected on handicap debut with Rossa Ryan booked.
Second in three of his four starts; Rossa Ryan booked for handicap debut; may do better.

(9) Eva Dickson 9/1, Study Of Man filly. Seventh of 11 in nursery at this C&D (20/1) 33 days ago, not clear run home turn and again final 1f. Bred to be suited by middle distances but her latest effort certainly contained encouragement. Worth a look.
Consistent rather than progressive to date; improvement may come when upped in trip.

(2) Rokuni 5/1, First run since leaving Eve Johnson Houghton when creditable sixth of 12 in nursery (50/1) at Lingfield (7f, AW) 55 days ago, racing closer to pace than ideal. Still, he needs to conclusively prove he truly wants this far.
Beat This Farh on turf (6f) last summer; fair run on stable debut but more is needed here.

(4) Blue Secret 5/1, Respectable sixth of 10 in handicap at Southwell (8.1f, 7/2) 11 days ago, weakening final 1f. Fitted with a tongue strap for the first time here and return to 7f expected to suit, so she's one to consider.
Not made significant progress in handicaps as yet; new tongue tie needs to help.

(5) Thurso 40/1, Dutch Art colt. Cheekpieces on for 1st time, never figured when seventh of 9 in novice (33/1) at Kempton (6f) 13 days ago, pushed along over 2f out and fading. Switch to handicaps in his favour and worth noting if the market speaks in his favour.
Not easily recommended on racecourse achievement but likely capable of more at some point.

(3) Lovesick 8/1, Improved from debut effort when off the mark in a C&D maiden in December and stepped up again when third of 8 in novice at Chelmsford City (8f) 17 days ago. No reason why she won't be thereabouts again on handicap debut.
C&D win last month was followed by a better effort when 3rd at Chelmsford; still improving.

Marvelously

25/1(-79%)
(8) Marvelously 25/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Blinkered for 1st time, showed more than previously when fifth of 8 in handicap at Kempton (6f, 3/1) 8 days ago, no extra final 1f. Entitled to strip fitter given that was her first run for 10 weeks and she now tackles 7f for the first time.
Well backed on last week's handicap debut but could only manage fifth; new trip today.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

THIS FARH has posted two improved efforts in novice/maiden company since being gelded and can make the breakthrough with another step forward now he goes handicapping off a workable mark. Lovesick has also shown fair promise, most notably when landing a maiden over C&D on her penultimate start. Having also run well in a novice stakes at Chelmsford most recently, Richard Spencer's filly is a must for the shortlist. Standput and Blue Secret are other appealing options.

BLUE SECRET failed to convince with her stamina tackling 1m for the first time at Southwell 11 days ago and, with the return to 7f looking a plus, she's given another chance equipped with a first-time tongue strap. Eva Dickson never had chance to fully open up on her latest outing over C&D 33 days ago and better can be expected from her. This Farh and Lovesick complete the shortlist.

This Farh can go well now handicapping but LOVESICK has a C&D win on her record and still looks to be improving.

Chance on her best form but well held the last twice and she's not progressive.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

Now that the penny has dropped for BLUE SEEKER after a comfortable success on his handicap debut over C&D, there is likely to be plenty more improvement forthcoming from the son of Blue Point and he can follow up off 8lb higher. A highly creditable third on his handicap bow at Kempton, Panama Black is a key player, as is Blue Empress, who has the potential to improve for going up in distance.

There was much to like about the way BLUE SEEKER did the job on his handicap debut last month and an 8 lb rise is unlikely to be enough to prevent this unexposed gelding from going in again. Panama Black is gradually progressing and he could be the one for the forecast, though McKenna is also a viable candidate for that role.

An 8lb rise against stronger opposition asks more of BLUE SEEKER but he won impressively here last month and can follow up.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

This can go the way of GALEL, who arrives on the back of a career-best effort when narrowly denied over 7f here. John Butler's filly showed enough pace to suggest that she can handle the drop back in trip and she may have too much for Alafdhal, who has a 4lb penalty to overcome for a success over 5f here last week. Less than a length behind him in that contest was State Of Madness (second), who must enter calculations on the revised terms.

STATE OF MADNESS finished strongly when beaten under a length by Alafdhal over 5f here last week and, now 4 lb better off with that rival and back up to 6f, he is taken to emerge on top this time. The latter shouldn't be far away but Conquest of Power, who wasn't seen to best effect over C&D recently, and Rogue Thunder may emerge as the main dangers.

A competitive sprint in which the lightly raced GALEL is marginally preferred to Red Walls and Alafdhal.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

INIT TOGETHER has been a revelation since joining the Tony Carroll yard and a further 3lb rise for his most recent success at Lingfield could prove lenient as he looks to land the hat-trick. The seven-year-old scored over C&D on his penultimate start and it may be that stablemate Cryptos Dream gives him the most to think about, having got up to win over C&D herself back in November. City Escape has dropped 7lb below her last winning mark and is capable of being in the shake-up as well.

CRYPTOS DREAM is taken to thwart stablemate Init Together in his bid to make it 3-3 for the yard. The latter will rightly be popular following his decisive victories over this C&D and most recently at Lingfield, but Cryptos Dream remains on an attractive mark up 3 lb for her C&D success in November and is marginally preferred. Arenas del Tiempo is also feasibly treated and will be a threat if on a going day.

Not many of these arrive in top form but INIT TOGETHER (nap) is a glaring exception and he can make it 3-3 for Tony Carroll.
