LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

KARBAU, a wide-margin winner of a French bumper, is entitled to come on from his fourth place on hurdling debut at Naas last month. He holds a couple of possible engagements at the Cheltenham Festival for Willie Mullins. Sticwiththeprocess outran his odds when fifth at Naas and can build upon that. Mullins also saddles Zillow, who was fifth at Punchestown and fourth at Leopardstown. Further progress could be on the cards. Paul Collins was found to be lame when he was a beaten favourite in fourth at Thurles in November so he is not out of it, while Henry de Bromhead's newcomer Adaliz is one for a market check.

French import KARBAU shaped well on debut for the Willie Mullins yard at Naas and he rates a confident selection with the strong possibility of better to come. Zillow, another representative from the Mullins stable, gets the nod for forecast purposes ahead of the Henry de Bromhead-trained pair, Adaliz and Captain Ryan Matt. Park That and Sticwiththeprocess should both do better in time.

KARBAU may have to settle a bit better than at Naas but the softer ground should suit and he gets the nod over stablemate Zillow

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

OUT FOR A STROLL made the breakthrough at Limerick and has a shot at following up in receipt of plenty of weight from Total Look. Joseph O'Brien's Churchill filly travelled well in the first-time cheekpieces to score at Limerick and the runner-up franked the form on his next start. Total Look has to shoulder top weight after a close third at Cheltenham. The form of his Navan victory is working out well and he is a significant threat. Slurricane is a consistent sort who should be in there pitching for prize money. He was a place ahead of Out For A Stroll when they were third and fourth respectively in Punchestown in November.

A deserved first taste of success over hurdles beckons for SLURRICANE, who again found just one too good in a Fairyhouse maiden last month and his opening mark in this sphere could be a handy one. Out For A Stroll had Lakota Blue back in third when landing a Limerick maiden hurdle during the Christmas period and she is feared most ahead of that re-opposing rival and top-weight Total Look.

On his C&D maiden second, LAKOTA BLUE has a big chance at the weights

(3) Drumheller 40/1, Fair third on his better bumper run last season but has been well held both starts over hurdles and will be of more interest in handicaps after this run.
Well held in both hurdle runs this winter and minor handicaps will be more suitable.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

GOLAN LOOP was running with credit before being brought down in the latter stages at Ascot 38 days ago and this looks a suitable opportunity for him to open his account under Rules. Warren Greatrex' gelding had previously finished third over this C&D and he rates as the one to beat. The biggest threat may emerge from Serious Challenge, who can build on his fifth-placed hurdles bow at Huntingdon earlier this month, ahead of Big Bert.

SERIOUS CHALLENGE was smart on the Flat for Jim Bolger and should prove all the better for his hurdles debut, so can find the required improvement to beat standard-setter Golan Loop.

The vote goes to Irish point winner GOLAN LOOP, who has shown clear promise in his two hurdle runs and sets a fair standard here.

J J MOON produced his best effort to date over timber when runner-up at Wincanton last month and a replication of that display might see the six-year-old go one better. Ben Solo has the ability to be competitive and any rain in the forecast would further enhance his credentials, while Libre De Choeur shaped well on his hurdling debut at Warwick and is open to improvement.

J J MOON ran much his best race to date over hurdles when going close at Wincanton 6 weeks ago and should take the beating on that form. Libre de Choeur made a decent start when third at Warwick and is next best ahead of the penalised Ben Solo.

Having bounced back last time, J J MOON could well build on that effort and open his hurdles account. Ben Solo is second choice.

This contest features a very interesting clash between Familiar Dreams and MAUGHREEN. Familiar Dreams cut a swathe through bumpers when handled by Anthony McCann and her winning spree culminated in a Grade 3 success at the Punchestown Festival. She makes her hurdling debut for Gordon Elliott and is a very talented mare. Slight preference is for Maughreen, who represents Willie Mullins. She was impressive on bumper debut at this track just over a year ago when powering 11 lengths clear of her rivals. She met with a minor setback last season, but was the subject of a favourable report in a stable tour. Clody Diamond's point-to-point victory is working out nicely ahead of her track debut.

The sight of Qatar Racing's silks over jumps is a rare one but in FAMILIAR DREAMS the operation has a nice prospect on its books. A winner of four of her nine starts in bumpers for Anthony McCann and successful on the second of her three starts on the Flat for Gordon Elliott, she will likely be holding her own at a higher level in this sphere before long, provided that her jumping passes the test. Maughreen, an impressive winner of a bumper last winter, is feared most ahead of Clody Diamond.

Though she has only run once, MAUGHREEN created such a favourable impression in that course bumper win a year ago and can win on return

Although a 12-race maiden, SMART CASUAL has proved a model of consistency throughout the past year and compensation could be on the cards. The seven-year-old arrives on the back of a solid second at Lingfield and a similar performance may prove sufficient. Diplomatic Ash shouldn't be inconvenienced by today's shorter trip and he must enter the reckoning in these calmer waters, while first-time blinkers could spark some improvement in Extraordinary Man.

SMART CASUAL was a beaten favourite (not for the first time) at Lingfield last month but that was a creditable effort nonetheless and he has shown more than enough to suggest that a race of this nature will be within his grasp. Extraordinary Man should make his presence felt if taking well to the new headgear and Bumpy Evans merits respect, despite being 10 lb 'wrong' on this handicap/chase debut for new yard, on the back of two wins between the flags.

Diplomatic Ash is open to progress but might struggle giving so much weight away to the equally progressive SMART CASUAL.

Sole success over a trip shy of 2½m was gained back in 2018 and he will almost certainly find things happening too quickly returned to 2m.
Veteran who seemingly isn't the force of old; on a three-year losing spell.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

Connections appeared to find the key to RATH GAUL HILL at the end of last season with a drop back to 2m seeing him record back-to-back victories at Newbury and Ayr. The seven-year-old remains unexposed over this distance and it wouldn't be a major surprise if he could improve further. Duhallow Tommy chased home the selection at Newbury and has performed with credit on both outings this season, while Famoso can beat Cat Tiger for third.

The vote goes to DUHALLOW TOMMY, who chased home the progressive Hasthing (winner again since) over 20.2f at Windsor last month. He is likely to benefit from this drop back in trip and he meets the hat-trick seeking Rath Gaul Hill on significantly better terms compared to when beaten 1¼ lengths by that rival at Newbury last spring. The latter should make his presence felt all the same but the selection may have most to fear from Famoso, who boasts a good record round here.

Armed with a 10lb pull, DUHALLOW TOMMY (nap) could well reverse Newbury placings with Rath Gaul Hill who is nevertheless respected.

PORT JOULAIN won a point-to-point and a Gowran bumper on testing ground and, having suffered an overreach when disappointing here on his hurdle debut, advertised his claims when third to The Enabler in a 2m4f Leopardstown maiden. The selection had Bossofthebrownies about two lengths behind in fourth on that occasion and may now have most to fear from Sermandzarak. The Gordon Elliott-trained gelding won the valuable Goffs Defender Bumper at the Festival here last April and made a pleasing start over hurdles when narrowly denied by Butch Cassidy over C&D. He was found to be coughing when disappointing subsequently at the Leopardstown Christmas meeting.

PORT JOULAIN's career hasn't quite gone to plan as yet but he arrives on the back of a good effort and there may well be more to come, so he's preferred to Sermandzara and Bossofthebrownies, who are closely matched on form.

PORT JOULAIN bounced back from two poor efforts with a solid third at Leopardstown last time and can hold Sermandzarak

Having opened his account in good style at Southwell last month, Land Of Moon must enter the reckoning in his follow-up bid. However, a 7lb winner's penalty will make life tougher for the son of Spanish Moon and RISK IT ALL is preferred. The four-year-old looked a likely improver on his third-placed hurdles bow at Kempton 31 days ago and he could take advantage of a handy 13lb weight-for-age allowance. Rogue Tornado is also noted.

French Flat winner RISK IT ALL made a pleasing start to hurdling when third in a juvenile at Kempton a month ago and, having been found a good opportunity, he can probably open his account in this sphere now. Land of Moon is the biggest threat, although Rogue Tornado would be a player if able to replicate his Flat form.

With his age allowance, this looks an inviting opportunity for RISK IT ALL to open his account over hurdles.

LEAVE OF ABSENCE showed a good attitude when runner-up to Iberico Lord at Kempton in November, returning from over two years off the track. Given enough time to recover, Anthony Honeyball's gelding is likely to appreciate a step up in trip and can prove a cut above the opposition. El Rio is respected following his third at Kempton on Boxing Day, while Don't Tell Su was a useful type over hurdles and is likely to progress further over the larger obstacles.

MOULINS CLERMONT proved a completely different proposition on his second attempt over fences after an absence when second at Newbury and should come on again. He gets the vote over the progressive El Rio and chase-debutant Don't Tell Su.

Most of the runners hold solid-looking claims. The percentage call goes to MOULINS CLERMONT, ahead of Don't Tell Su.

The Gavin Cromwell-trained MYWAYOFTHINKIN and Fenway Park both need to bounce back after disappointing last time and preference is for the former. The well-bred son of Flemensfirth showed promise in bumpers before winning a 2m maiden when switched to hurdles here last spring and was found to be lame after pulling up on his reappearance in a Grade 3 at Navan. Fenway Park also won a maiden hurdle here last May but was let down by his jumping last month at Leopardstown. Bayrann gained reward for his consistency when taking a 2m Thurles maiden just before Christmas, while Goraibhmaithagat also won a Navan maiden over 2m and has plenty of scope for improvement.

GORAIBHMAITHAGAT had something up his sleeve when scoring at Navan 51 days ago and it will probably be a while before he finishes improving, so he gets the nod in an interesting affair. The Great Nudie could pose a threat to the selection with another step forward and Mywayofthinkin can't be ruled out after one poor run.

Found to be lame after being pulled-up last time, MYWAYOFTHINKIN is the pick of Mark Walsh and can bounce back

River Tyne reverts to hurdles on a 5lb lower mark than when landing a Fontwell chase on Boxing Day, but she is winless from six previous outings over timber and slight preference is for SQUIGGLES. A 5lb rise for a neck success over Doncaster's extended 3m last month may seem a little harsh, but James Owen's lightly-raced mare has scope for improvement. C&D winner Midnightreflection showed a bit more promise when not beaten too far at Market Rasen 10 days ago.

Lightly-raced Squiggles and prolific chaser River Tyne will both need to be ridden aggressively to bring their stamina into the mix and that could play into the hands of live outsider GATA BAN who has shown signs of promise on his last two runs and will be nursed into the race by a jockey who excels under patient tactics. Fortuna Ligna and Midnightreflection have both operated at a higher level than this, and a revival from either would not come as a surprise.

Squiggles is respected but a chance is taken on FORTUNA LIGNA who ran well in a higher grade last time.

Refused to race once; has consistent form at Hereford; could go well.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

Maxcel failed to complete a hat-trick when well beaten in a stronger event at Market Rasen last July, but he is an interesting contender on his seasonal return. However, HMS PRESIDENT gets the nod. Alan King's eight-year-old justified short odds at Kempton before hitting the crossbar at Huntingdon next time and he now makes his first start in a handicap in this sphere. Black Hawk Eagle is next best.

A competitive enough handicap and this can go to CLAP OF THUNDER who caught the eye when fifth in a decent Cheltenham handicap on his penultimate run. He was too keen last time and with a hood to help him relax, he's expected to relish this sharper test. Luttrell Lad is back down to an appealing handicap mark and could be a big danger having shown more last time. Kerry Lee saddles two interesting runners, and it could be significant that Richard Patrick has chosen to ride Wasthatok.

Last year's winner BLACK HAWK EAGLE is first choice ahead of HMS President, Imaginarium and Clap Of Thunder.

BRIDIE'S BEAU was placed on both bumper starts for Paul Nicholls and kept on into fifth on his first handicap outing at Limerick last month. That 2m event has thrown up a couple of subsequent winners and the selection is bred to appreciate this longer trip. Silas Marner has yet to score in 16 career starts but did give some encouragement when fourth to Duffys Hodey in a similar 2m4f Fairyhouse handicap earlier this month, while Klassman was placed a number of times in November before going off favourite when unseating rider three out here on New Year's Eve. Mighty Soldier, Mywayorthehighway and Dolly Watkins are others to consider.

BRIDIE'S BEAU looks to have been building up to something and, having not had a hard race last time, he's worth a chance to defy a mark of 95 at the possible expense of Klassman, who had been knocking on the door prior to unseating at this course last time. Silas Mariner is also respected.

Having run a solid race on handicap debut at Fairyhouse last time over a similar trip, SILAS MARNER could improve enough to take this

C&D winner who was a good second over C&D latest but the forecast rain would be a concern..
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

Invincible Nao is very interesting now upped in trip and the 2m5f winner has shaped as though it may suit, but the safer option appears to be C&D winner NORTHERN POET. Nick Gifford's 10-year-old returned from seven months off and wind surgery to chase home a progressive sort over this track and trip last month, and he can improve for that pipe-opener. Whydah Gally may be best of the remainder off a tumbling mark.

INVINCIBLE NAO was clear of the others when runner-up to a subsequent winner at Leicester and can go one better having been eased 1 lb. Northern Poet has been beaten only by a couple of progressive sorts on his last 2 starts here and is the obvious threat.

A few to consider but it could be worth chancing FANTASTIKAS now down to a class 4 with a capable amateur booked.

FAMOUS CLERMONT went in by three lengths in a deeper contest than this at Stratford last May and this looks a good starting point. If the veteran retains that same enthusiasm, he will prove very hard to beat. Take All accounted for Joker De Mai (third) when filling the runner-up spot at Taunton earlier in the month and can confirm his authority over that rival. Jet Plane is the pick of the remainder.

FAMOUS CLERMONT is a veteran now but he showed there's plenty of life in him when last seen and he's worth a chance to make a winning return for all that Joker de Mai arrives on the back of a positive start to chasing. Jet Plane is another one to consider having his first go in this sphere.

Preference is for PERCUSSION, who ran well before tiring in a 3m1f Haydock slog last month and ought to find this race easier.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

A chance is taken on the fitness of THAT'S ME FINISHED, who left all previous known form behind when getting off the mark at Sligo last summer. There is the potential for plenty more to come and he can pick up where he left off. Point-to-point winner Master Of The Sums caught the eye when keeping on into third in a 2m3f Limerick maiden last month and any market move would be interesting on his handicap debut. Stellar Symphony has won twice at around 3m and still looks on a competitive mark, while Westernersunrise is another to note.

COMEONARCHIE has found just one too good over similar trips to this here on his last two starts and is taken to get his head in front this time. With improvement likely now making the switch to handicap company, Master of The Sums may emerge as the main danger, while Person of Interest and Phoenix Cowboy may both have a say in the finish, too.

Not too many appeal. Perhaps COMEONARCHIE (nap) can go one better than on his two recent visits here

Has struggled since his C&D win last March and he needs a big turnaround.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

Eliza Dolittle must be respected following her game success over the extended 2m4f here last month, but she's 3lb higher now and a drop in trip may not be ideal either. With that in mind, the vote goes to TARA ITI, who has been knocking on the door of late and has two C&D wins to his name, including one off 5lb higher than his current mark. This looks competitive, though, with Grasshopper Time, Gorcombe Moonshine and Rapid Mission also in with a shout.

Back down in trip and with a 2 lb pull at the weights, TARA ITI can reverse the form with Eliza Dolittle who narrowly came out on top when the pair met here last month. Grasshopper Time and Sawpit Samantha can fight it out for a place on the podium. Mount Washinhton has been hit and miss but would be of interest if the market spoke in his favour.

This looks a bit trappy but it might be worth sticking with ELIZA DOLITTLE (nap), who got off the mark with a brave win here last time.

Kitaro Kich wasn't winning out of turn over C&D last week and is expected to go well again. However, a 5lb penalty makes life tougher and on 5lb worse terms, he isn't guaranteed to confirm that form with runner-up PESSOA, who has been knocking hard on the door of late. It will be interesting to see how Marioento fares in the betting now he swaps novice company for handicaps.

A good opportunity for PESSOA, who has gained all four of his career wins at this course and can deservedly add to that having found just one too good on each of his last two starts. He was beaten 1½ lengths by Kitaro Kich last time and is weighed to reverse those placings, now 5 lb better off with that rival. Kitaro Kich should give a good account, though, and is clear second choice ahead of My Brother Mike.

Kitaro Kich and the unexposed Marioento are of interest but there could be a bigger effort forthcoming from I CAN'T BELIEVE.

State Of Fame made the frame in this grade at Taunton on his latest outing and it would be no surprise to see him play a leading role off only 1lb higher. However, it may pay to side with NOLLYADOR, who finished third at Huntingdon last month and goes off an unchanged mark. With the booking of Harry Cobden catching the eye, he could make his second handicap start a successful one. Sangiovese completes the shortlist.

With plenty of pace on paper, this could suit the patiently-ridden DRASH ON RUBY who was still going well when making a significant error 3 out last time and she looks very fairly treated off this mark. State of Fame ran well under today's rider 9 days ago and should be staying on at the business end of the race. Rock Hurley has fallen to a workable mark and he can finish in the money today.

The suggestion is STATE OF FAME, who did well to finish third at Taunton recently and will be suited by today's longer trip.

TURN UP THE BEAT ran really well back at Dundalk last month and may be able to go one better now. The Outstrip gelding stuck on well when headed inside the final furlong and was only beaten a head by Crystal Luna. Off just a 2lb higher mark, he's expected to run a big race again. Livingston Range is a candidate to race prominently as well and could be a danger. He drops back in trip after a solid run to finish third here last month. Leblon Girl showed some ability in England and is one to note on her first outing for Adrian Murray.

LIVINGSTON RANGE was beaten in the C&D handicaps won by re-opposing pair My Girl Sioux and Sam's Xpress respectively in November, but he has clear prospects of reversing the placings with those rivals on these revised terms. Moreover, the 7-y-o left the strong impression that his turn is near when third here last time. Turn Up The Beat put in a good shift back at this course last month and he is a threat, while Sam's Xpress is third choice ahead of Cuban Grey.

The tentative vote goes to LIVINGSTON RANGE, who ran a huge race from a terrible draw here last time and is handicapped to strike

Going back up to a mile really helped GAIETY MUSICAL when she scored at Kempton recently and there could be more to come. Her supporters will be pleased to see that Richard Kingscote keeps the ride and she can confirm form with Top Of The Class (second), with this extra half a furlong potentially a source of further improvement. Keep an eye on Celebrating Ethel too.

TOP OF THE CLASS wasn't ideally placed when chasing home Gaiety Musical earlier this month and with a 2 lb pull at the weights, Mark Loughnane's mare may be able to reverse the form. Celebrating Ethel should run well again having only gone up 1 lb for finishing second here two weeks ago.

Top Of The Class is 2lb better off with GAIETY MUSICAL today but the result may be the same as at Kempton 12 days ago.

BEAUTY BELLA has some solid handicap form here in recent weeks and looks up to landing a claimer. The daughter of Buratino is top-rated in the field, with a mark of 64, and appears to be nicely treated at the weights. Belles Feuilles comes here in winning form, having posted a C&D success last month, and she looks to have a big shout. Deed Pole has been knocking on the door in handicap company and is another to consider.

BELLES FEUILLES made a winning start for this yard over C&D last month and, still on a good mark up 5 lb, she is taken to strike again. Next on the list is Beauty Bella, who was below par on her latest start but she performed well on first two starts for this yard and has a leading chance on these terms. Jawhary is best of the rest.

Preference is for BEAUTY BELLA, consistent in handicaps of late and well enough treated at the weights.

The eye is immediately drawn to DANCING COLOURS, who represents the powerhouse Charlie Appleby yard and she improved from her first to second run when taking the silver medal at Kempton last month. Entitled to have progressed again since, she gets the nod ahead of Chelmsford debut fifth Dance In The Storm, a potential improver for another top yard. Phrygia makes the most appeal of the remainder.

DANCE IN THE STORM made a very pleasing start to her career, in a race that had some substance, and she lose her maiden tag today. Dancing Colours is progressive and should go close again, while Phrygia is open to improvement having showed plenty to work with on debut.

Dancing Colours still has more to offer but DANCE IN THE STORM is preferred after her promising Chelmsford debut in November

KONIAG has been knocking on the door during the winter months and compensation could be on the cards. The four-year-old is only 1lb higher than when finishing second here 38 days ago and Paddy Harnett's 5lb claim could prove decisive. Vivacious Lady has filled the runner-up spot on her last couple of visits here and she may serve the most resistance to the selection, ahead of Darkened, who hasn't been disgraced over timber of late.

VIVACIOUS LADY is on a fair mark and arrives on the back of two likeable performances, so she's fancied to go one better than her second over C&D last month, Koniag looks the main threat and Someone's Wish should give his running back on the Flat.

The one to be on should be VIVACIOUS LADY (nap) who narrowly failed over C&D last month and has more to offer.

GALILEO GLASS pulled hard when sporting first-time blinkers and fading into sixth over this trip at Chelmsford on his first start for the Darryll Holland stable. If the six-year-old can settle better off a 3lb lower mark, then he could record his second course-and-distance victory. Bossy Parker ran below par when fourth over track and trip last time, but he is a player based on his second here prior to that display. Of the remainder, Plumette makes the most appeal after her third over this C&D.

PLUMETTE is the only one to arrive on the back of a solid effort, so she's taken to go two better than when third over C&D recently. Bossy Parker is expected to bounce back and is feared most, while Galileo Glass would be of interest if the market spoke in his favour.

This looks a good opportunity for BOSSY PARKER (nap) to record a third C&D win. Galileo Glass may provide the stiffest resistance.

FREE SOLO has run really well on his last couple of outings here and may be able to collect, despite creeping up a few pounds. He bumped into an in-form horse in Cousin Shay over C&D on his penultimate outing before another solid run to chase home Volatile Analyst 10 days ago. He wouldn't be winning out of turn. Daonethatgotaway got 6lb for his win here last month, but may still be competitive off his revised rating. Harry The Rogue has been runner-up on his last two starts and steps up to a mile. He is another who has to be on the shortlist in a competitive contest for the grade.

FREE SOLO is well handicapped and has been threatening to capitalise lately, finishing clear of the remainder when runner-up here 10 days ago, so he gets the nod ahead of last-time-out C&D winner Daonethatgotaway. Harry The Rogue is also of interest.

Sam Coen's claim will ease the burden aboard FREE SOLO and he can get his head in front for in-form trainer Pat Murphy

More was expected of RAVENGLASS when only managing fifth over track and trip earlier in the month, but he is 1lb lower now and has Cam Hardie back on board. The six-year-old made the frame in two starts at this venue prior to that most recent effort and a reproduction of either of those displays might be good enough here. Kranjcar wasn't beaten far into sixth over 6f at Newcastle last Tuesday and might appreciate this step back up in trip off an unchanged mark. Big Narstie isn't out of it either.

There might not be much pace on here, and the emphasis on speed might suit lightly-raced KRANJCAR more than it does Ravenglass, who needs a truly run 7 furlongs to be seen to best effect. Sam's Hope could be gearing up for a better effort from her falling handicap mark.

Several possibles despite the small field. Returning to 7f could suit SAM'S HOPE and she's marginally preferred to Ravenglass.

LOST PRESIDENT looked like a horse who could improve again after his win here 13 days ago and may be able to follow up. He made up a nice bit of ground turning for home and claimed the well-backed Senior Montecristo inside the final furlong to secure success. A 7lb hike doesn't look harsh. Fortuna Vera is another with upside and it will be interesting to see how she fares on her handicap debut. The Footstepsinthesand filly stepped forward from a promising debut run to win her maiden in November. Habari wears cheekpieces for his handicap debut and is one to note having hinted at ability in maidens.

LOST PRESIDENT relished the step up in trip when off the mark over C&D 2 weeks ago and he had enough in hand that day to suggest he can defy a 7 lb rise. Fortuna Vera confirmed debut promise whe scoring here in November and should have more to offer still, while Habari is a potential improver switched to a handicap.

Marginal preference is for surface debutant SAINT BRANDON, progressive last year and on a reasonable mark for an in-form outfit.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

City Cyclone completed a course double on his latest outing and only has a 4lb higher mark to contend with, but this drop in trip might open the door for ROYAL MUSKETEER. Steph Hollinshead's seven-year-old competes off 4lb higher than his C&D success earlier in the month, but that is unlikely to prevent him from going in again. Last-time-out Newcastle scorer Jimmy Knocker is another to watch out for.

CITY CYCLONE was well backed to land a brace here, most recently when racing with plenty of zest and scoring with something to spare over 7f. The drop back to 6f shouldn't pose a problem and he should make a bold bid for the hat-trick today. The consistent Em Jay Kay should give another good account, while Jimmy Knocker earns plenty of respect, with the form of his recent win having been franked.

With the form of his Newcastle win having been handsomely advertised since, the unexposed JIMMY KNOCKER is taken to follow up.

Gillian Scott has done well with horses from yards associated with her brother Billy Lee in the past and RED HUGH O'DONNELL is an interesting acquisition for her. The Dark Angel gelding showed ability in three runs for Paddy Twomey, particularly when second to Emerald Harmony in Tipperary last August. He is top-rated in a moderate enough maiden here. Prince Of Eyeries was collared late on over C&D last month and is an obvious contender on that run. Alhather was placed a couple of times in England and is another for the shortlist on his first start for Eoghan O'Neill.

RED HUGH O'DONNELL might have found his last coming too soon so is worth another chance to confirm his Tipperary form starting out for a new yard. Prince of Eyeries and Alhather are others to consider.

ALHATHER faced some stiff opposition when running well for Andrew Balding last year. He should take some beating if ready to roll.

HAWA JUMEIRAH benefited from his return at Kempton when scoring over C&D last Monday, with Starfighter back in third on that occasion. The four-year-old was making his second appearance on the all-weather and remains with the scope for a fair amount of improvement under a 5lb penalty. The aforementioned Starfighter is likely to enter calculations, while first-time cheekpieces and stepping up in distance looks an interesting move for Tancredi.

HAWA JUMEIRAH found improvement upped in trip when scoring over C&D a week ago and a penalty might not be enough to stop him following up at the possible expense of Starfighter, who was a place behind him last time. MIrabello Bay is not dismissed.

This can go to the lightly raced 4yo HAWA JUMEIRAH, who got off the mark with a comfortable success over C&D last Monday.

ZE DO ASFALTO looks the best of those with form and may prove the pick. The Ardad colt chased home a decent yardstick in William F Browne in a claimer here in late November and is open to a bit more improvement on just his third career outing. Joseph O'Brien runs a couple of newcomers and it would be no surprise if they played big roles. Thunder Song was a 90,000gns yearling and the yard won a maiden first time out with his half-sister Sluice. Letters Of Love is a half-sister to the Listed-placed Elliptic.

Joseph O'Brien saddles a couple of interesting newcomers in THUNDER SONG and Letters of Love and they could be the pair to focus on in what looks a weak maiden. After Love offered something to work on over C&D 13 weeks ago and may prove best of those with experience.

Marginal preference is for SOTTSANDS, who made a nice impression when beating a good horse in a barrier trial here in July.

DISQUIETUDE has appreciated the switch to classified company on her last couple of starts, with placed efforts here and at Kempton. The four-year-old drops back in trip which looks to be the right move and the daughter of Tamayuz gets the vote to shed the maiden tag. Lhebayeb has shown some competitive handicap form in recent months and is capable of being in the mix. Others to note are National Health and Advindi.

LHEBAYEB has a good chance on these terms if building on her last run. Back From Dubai offered something to work on starting out for this yard at Southwell 2 weeks ago and is next best ahead of Disquietude.

The most appealing contenders are DISQUIETUDE and National Health who both have respectable recent C&D form at this level.

SPARTAN TIMES wasn't disgraced in finishing fifth on handicap debut over C&D a fortnight ago and, off a 1lb lower mark, the four-year-old appears to have been found an excellent opportunity to gain a first career success. Northstead Gardens has been running consistently well in recent months and looks to be a leading threat. Pop Noodle didn't have much luck at the start here earlier in the month and may be worth another chance.

NORTHSTEAD GARDENS has been competitive in better races than this so can make a winning start for a yard that is in decent form. The unexposed Spartan Times took a big step forward when fifth on her handicap bow over C&D 2 weeks ago and is feared most ahead of Enzos Angel, who is back over a more suitable trip.

Unexposed SPARTAN TIMES can build on his latest effort and emulate his dam by winning at this venue. Pop Noodle is second pick.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
