12:45 Ludlow Conditions Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Having made a winning racecourse debut over C&D last month, Blue Moon Lady warrants respect in her follow-up bid. However, a 7lb penalty and being outside of fillies-only company will make life tougher so the claims of WALLQUATARI are slightly more compelling. Donald McCain's gelding only faltered in the closing stages on his first completed outing at Doncaster and a race of this nature looks within his compass. Market support for newcomer Laughing John would be interesting.

BLUE MOON LADY created a favourable impression when making a winning debut over C&D 18 days ago and with further progress likely, hopes are high that she can defy a penalty. Wallquatari is second choice on form, with Laughing John an interesting newcomer given the yard he represents.

Doncaster runner-up WALLQUATARI has a particularly good chance at the weights. Laughing John is a noteworthy newcomer.

Built on that returned to fences when runner-up at Newcastle (23.4f, good to soft) recently but he's 6 lb out the weights back hurdling.

13:00 Ayr Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Ideal De Romay produced a better effort to fill the runner-up spot over fences at Newcastle and should go well, but he will need to transfer that form to this sphere. REAGROVE LORD had Teddy Mac (fifth) behind when making the frame in this grade at Hexham on his most recent start and the handicapper might have been kind to leave his mark alone. If he can run to a similar level, he could be the one to beat. Boolamore Classic completes the shortlist.

ROB ROY MACGREGOR was out of sorts when last seen in the spring but, having been given a chance by the handicapper, Sandy Thomson's 7-y-o is afforded the tentative nod to open his account in this sphere. The main danger may emerge from Reagrove Lord, who ran close to best fitted in a first-time visor at Hexham last month and could well build on that here. Teddy Mac and Blended Stealth can fight out third.

All of these come with an element of risk. Marginal preference is for REAGROVE LORD who ran well in the new visor at Hexham.

13:15 Ludlow Handicap Chase (Class 5) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

IRON D'EX arrives on the back of a respectable fourth at Hereford and makes plenty of appeal returning to the C&D of his sole previous success. The seven-year-old is just 1lb higher than for that victory in class 4 company in October and this class 5 contest looks a decent opportunity for him. Although Dunstall Rambler scored at Wincanton 20 days ago, that was over an extended 1m7f and his stamina is far from proven over this trip. With that in mind, a bigger threat may emerge from stable debutant Stony Man.

Several in with a squeak but the suggestion is MY MATE POLLY, who remains low mileage in this sphere and arrives on the back of a couple of good efforts since the cheekpieces were reapplied. Dunstall Rambler kept mistakes to a minimum when scoring readily at Wincanton recently, so he heads up the opposition, with Iron d'Ex and Garitsa Bay taken to fight out third.

Preference is for MY MATE POLLY, who has solid recent form and may still have more to offer. Iron d'Ex is second pick.

13:30 Ayr Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Reflection Of You beat Royal Creek (sixth) when third at Kelso and is expected to confirm her authority over that rival to go close. However, it might prove significant that Derek Fox is booked for her stablemate GOLDEN POINT. Lucinda Russell's six-year-old took a step forward from her first start over hurdles to make the frame at Carlisle and she could find the improvement required to get off the mark. Any market support behind Just Her Type would be interesting.

GOLDEN POINT stuck to her task pretty well when third at Carlisle a month ago and with this slight step up in trip sure to suit, she's capable of winning a novice against her own sex. Holly Bird and Royal Creek are a couple of potential threats.

This looks a good opportunity for HOLLY BIRD who ran perfectly well behind the classy Country Mile on her final start.

13:45 Ludlow Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

MALINIFICENT offered plenty to work with when third on his Rules bow over an inadequate trip at Leicester last month. This distance looks ideal for Warren Greatrex's point-to-point recruit and he is taken to open his account. The biggest danger may emerge in the shape of hurdles debutant Dunskay, who cannot be taken lightly after landing a couple of bumpers last season. Aviation must also enter calculations after filling the runner-up spot at Warwick.

Several to consider in what has the makings of an informative novice. DUNSKAY is just about the most interesting of the shortlisted candidates, with the form of his latest bumper success at Huntingdon working out well. Sole Solution stepped up on his hurdles debut when runner-up at Leicester last month and he is feared most ahead of Aviation and Malinificent. As regards the runners who already have hurdles form, AVIATION holds particularly solid claims. Dunskay is second choice.

14:00 Ayr Handicap Chase (Class 4) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

TRAVAIL D'ORFEVRE made the frame in the Borders National at Kelso and could be the answer having been dropped 1lb since that effort. Today's shorter trip is unlikely to pose him any problems and this appears a good opportunity for the bottom-weight to get his head back in front. Shighness is entitled to be sharper for her return at Carlisle last month, while C&D winner Destiny Is All is also respected.

The consistent TRAVAIL D'ORFEVRE could be the answer on his first attempt at 3m following a highly respectable effort over a marathon trip in the Borders National. It took a few runs before Prince des Fichaux was able to do himself justice last season and he will be a real threat if able to reproduce the form he showed at Newcastle last winter. Monochromix also makes some appeal.

This can go to TRAVAIL D'ORFEVRE, who usually runs over shorter trips but gave a very good account over 4m last month.

14:15 Ludlow Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

GUSTOSO showed a big chunk of improvement when stepping up in distance to score comfortably at Hereford and a 5lb rise might prove to be on the lenient side. Henry Daly's six-year-old should have plenty more to offer and could prove hard to beat again. Solar System made it two wins from his last three starts when justifying favouritism here and he should go well again, providing his stamina holds out over this longer trip. Planet Legend is another to consider.

GUSTOSO could have more to offer as a stayer and is taken to defy the handicapper. The thriving Solar System will be a danger if his stamina holds now stepping up to around 3m for the first time. James Jet could also have a say if new trainer Jamie Snowden has him primed after a 7-month break.

This could be another good opportunity for SOLAR SYSTEM (nap), who continued his improvement with a 2m5f course success 19 days ago.

14:35 Ayr Handicap Chase (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Now that the penny has dropped for TOMMY COMBATS after a relatively comfortable breakthrough success at Hexham, the Martin Todhunter-trained six-year-old is likely to have plenty more to come off 5lb higher. He can uphold form with Raffles Wonder (third) and Heeztheboy (fourth) from that contest, with Flash Du Pistolet another to consider now that he drops back in distance.

RAFFLES WONDER is appealing in this rematch with Tommy Combats, having finished just over 2 lengths adrift of that rival on his chase debut at Hexham last month and now meets that rival on 5 lb better terms. Tommy Combats had race-fitness and experience over fences to draw upon that day, factors which help strengthen the case for the selection, who should be sharper here. Heeztheboy was a good fourth in the same Hexham handicap and should also make his presence felt.

Top of the list is the lightly raced 6yo TOMMY COMBATS, who made it second-time lucky over fences when scoring at Hexham last month.

14:50 Ludlow Handicap Chase (Class 3) 26f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

ROGER POL backed up his victory at Southwell with a fair third over 2m3f at Doncaster and goes off an unchanged rating. With Gavin Sheehan back on board and the step up in trip a possible source of improvement, he could be the one to beat. Smiling Getaway could only manage a well-held fifth in Listed company at Warwick, but this is an easier assignment and she might have more to offer on only her third chase start. Balkardy isn't out of it either.

ROGER POL, having made a winning start to chasing, found the trip too sharp last time, so he's fancied to get back on the up returned to a suitable distance. Smiling Getaway still has more to offer in this sphere and Ramo looks a fascinating chasing debutant.

Back at Ludlow, chase debutant RAMO is particularly interesting. Roger Pol and Smiling Getaway look the chief threats.

15:10 Ayr Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Turned out again quickly after an easy success on his handicap hurdle debut at Catterick last week, MAGHLAAK looks more than capable of following up under a 7lb penalty for his in-form connections. That may be at the main expense of Yorkshire Lady, who should come on plenty for just her second start over timber at Wetherby. Placed on each of his three starts since joining George Bewley, Rock On Jet is expected to be thereabouts as well.

A race which essentially revolves around MAGHLAAK, who will be hard to beat under a penalty if over his New Year's Day exertions. Yorkshire Lady could be wiser with her first experience of a handicap hurdle behind her and is second choice ahead of handicap newcomer Rock On Jet.

With him so useful on the Flat, it's no surprise to see MAGHLAAK now doing well over hurdles and he can bring up the hat-trick.

15:25 Ludlow Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SULLIVAN BAY has been much improved since joining current connections and, narrowly denied at Plumpton on his most recent start in this sphere, the five-year-old looks the one to beat. The booking of Sean Bowen is another plus and he is preferred to recent Southwell third De Vega's Warrior, as well as Churchman, who has decent claims on his penultimate effort at Uttoxeter. Dublin To Milan and Von Hallers cannot be ruled out either.

SULLIVAN BAY has had a good spell since joining Jim & Suzi Best and is the most solid option in a race featuring a few who haven't shown much so far but could take a step forward in handicaps. The good recent form of the Henrietta Knight stable earns De Vega's Warrior a place on the shortlist, along with handicap newcomers Babatunde and Les's Jersey Royal.

It's hard to get away from SULLIVAN BAY, who has done really under both codes for his new yard including a near miss at Plumpton.

15:45 Ayr NH Flat Race (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A promising third when going from the front and only headed inside the final furlong at Musselburgh, KEVLAR is entitled to improve plenty for the experience and he can strike with Brian Hughes taking over in the saddle. A well-related sort by Champs Elysees for a leading owner, Auchinlek is a newcomer to note, as is Baratablet, who has a decent NH pedigree. The Lucinda Russell yard is in fine form, and Kelvin Forlonge wasn't disgraced on debut at Hexham.

BARATABLET is likely to need further in time but makes appeal on pedigree and represents a stable that does well in this sphere, so he could be worth chancing if the market speaks in his favour. Point winner Parish Quiz is another one to note and Kevlar is the clear pick of those with bumper form.

A chance is taken on BARATABLET, representing a yard that's won this bumper twice since 2019.

15:55 Ludlow NH Flat Race (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A highly encouraging third on debut when keeping on from off the pace in an Aintree race that has worked out well, CLAIM DU BRIZAIS arguably sets the standard on form and can get off the mark. Blue Betty hails from a yard that knows how to ready one first time, while fellow newcomers Celestron Star and Elusive Feeling should also be monitored for market support. Fresh As A Daisy was set a stiff task first time out and will be much happier here.

Point winner CLAIM DU BRIZAIS arrives on the back of a solid Rules debut at Aintree and is fancied to open her account at the possible expense of Fresh As A Daisy, who should have learned from her initial outing in listed company at Huntingdon. Blue Betty is the pick of the newcomers on paper.

Dan Skelton's CLAIM DU BRIZAIS finished third at Aintree in a race that's worked out well and she looks the one to be with.

17:00 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

LEQUINTO went into plenty of notebooks when finishing a never-nearer third at Lingfield six days ago. The veteran was denied a clear run at a crucial point and, granted some better luck, compensation could be on the cards. A first-time hood appeared to improve 5f track scorer Classy Clarets last month and he isn't taken lightly now nudged up 3lb in the handicap. C&D winner Em Jay Kay is also worth a second look.

LEQUINTO shaped well when third in a better handicap than this at Lingfield last week and he's of strong interest down in class. Em Jay Kay and Classy Clarets head the opposition.

The vote goes to LEQUINTO, who is on a much reduced mark and didn't get any luck when an eyecatching third at Lingfield last Tuesday.

17:30 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 4) 9f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Having scored a shade cosily over 7f here last time out, ENOLA GREY looks more than capable of defying a 2lb higher mark. A return to an extended mile should pose little issue for Gemma Tutty's mare and, dropping in class, she rates as the one to beat. Radiant Beauty arrives on the back of a narrow C&D defeat and she may serve the most resistance to the selection, ahead of the lightly-raced Samra Star.

ENOLA GREY was arguably value for extra given she was held up in a steadily-run race when successful over 7.2f here a fortnight ago and a 2 lb rise should be within range. A case of sorts can be made for each of these, with Radiant Beauty and Jazzy Angel feared most.

It's hard to rule out any of these but recent course winner ENOLA GREY gets the vote ahead of Radiant Beauty.

18:00 Wolverhampton Maiden (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

ORANGESANDLEMONS has done little wrong in her two runner-up efforts at Newcastle to date and a breakthrough victory looks imminent. Ed Bethell's filly ticks plenty of the right boxes and she can repel chief threat Sweet Couture, who only gave way in the closing stages when third over a mile at Kempton so a return to 7f is probably in her favour. Song Of Dubai looks the pick of the newcomers and a market check is advised.

Though ORANGESANDLEMONS failed to land the odds at Newcastle recently having shaped with plenty of promise on debut there in November, she is probably capable of better and this looks like a good opportunity for the Edward Bethell-trained filly to get off the mark. Newcomer Song of Dubai could be the one for the forecast, given that George Boughey's duo Sweet Couture and Sixteen One are both starting to look a shade exposed.

Preference is for ORANGESANDLEMONS who has shown plenty of promise with her two runner-up efforts at Newcastle and sets the standard.

18:30 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 2) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

BOBBY BENNU showed a liking for a first-time hood when scoring by a length at Lingfield in November and he is only 3lb higher. Roger Varian's four-year-old could take another step forward in order to score off a career-high mark. Royal Zabeel comfortably made his second start for the Mick Appleby stable a victorious one at Southwell and it would be no surprise to see him get involved off 6lb higher. Of the remainder, Brewing makes the most appeal.

The manner of ROYAL ZABEEL's Southwell success last month suggested that his best days are still ahead of him and he is taken defy a 6 lb rise in the weights by following up here. Fellow last-time-out scorer Bobby Bennu is likely to offer stern resistance, while Brewing will also be a threat if responding well to the new headgear. Havanagreattime is another to consider.

Southwell winner ROYAL ZABEEL looks the type to rack up a sequence and is first choice ahead of Bobby Bennu.

19:00 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

HAVANA FORCE picked her way through the field to run out a three-length victor over track and trip on her latest outing and her confidence will be boosted now that she has got her head in front. The daughter of Havana Grey can defy her 7lb rise and complete a double. Fools Rush In returned to winning ways at Southwell and should remain competitive off 2lb higher, while Mesaafi is another to keep an eye on.

FOOLS RUSH IN was only nudged up 2 lb for his recent Southwell win and may be able to follow up. Where's Freddy wasn't seen to best effect at Chelmsford last month and is a possible threat under Sean Levey, who is often a good booking for the Stuart Williams stable. Mesaafi ended his time for Charlie Fellowes with 3 creditable placed efforts on AW (including C&D) and is also respected starting out for Simon Pearce.

Granted better luck, WHERE'S FREDDY may well be the answer back down in grade. Havana Force is second choice.

19:30 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

THISMYDREAM finished fifth in this grade at Chelmsford in September and competes off a 1lb lower rating. With a plum draw in stall one, he could regain the winning thread. Gustav Graves' four C&D victories include this contest 12 months ago and he showed a little more when fifth at Newcastle last week, while Alafdhal is also a player based on his third at Lingfield two starts ago.

Last year's winner GUSTRAV GRAVES showed better signs at Newcastle last Thursday and is given a chance to build on that as he's dipped to 14 lb below the mark he defied at Newcastle last March. Basholo knows where the winning post is here and is second choice ahead of Apache Star, who might have just needed it back from a short break here over Christmas.

The vote goes to GUSTAV GRAVES off an enticing mark. There were encouraging signs in a better race at Newcastle last Thursday.

20:00 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

MUHALHEL hinted at a return to form with a respectable effort at Dundalk last time out, and stepping back up in trip seems like a big plus. A winner over C&D in April off this mark, the seven-year-old looks primed to go close again, with fellow track-and-trip scorers Starfighter and The Resdev Way looking best placed to chase him home. Ocean Ridge and Virtual Hug, also successful over C&D, enter the reckoning as well.

Having scored here in November, THE RESDEV WAY wasn't seen to best effect on his only subsequent start so, after a short break, he's worth chancing in this decidedly weak contest. Muhalhel deserves plenty of respect having taken a positive step last time and Virtual Hug can't be ruled out.

Slight peference is for three-time course winner STARFIGHTER who drops into a 0-52 for the first time

20:30 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

This can go the way of HIGH COURT JUDGE, who didn't show much in a spin over hurdles at Windsor last month but ran with plenty of credit over this distance at Southwell on his penultimate outing. James Owen's charge may have too much for Enzos Angel, who is still feared on the rise in trip. Smokey Malone has dropped to a mark 8lb below his last success so has to be considered, while Desiderata would come right into the reckoning if turning up after Saturday's shock triumph here.

DESIDERATA caused a shock when scoring on his first outing for this yard at the weekend and, despite the very quick turnaroud, he's worth a chance to follow up under a penalty, with most of his rivals out of form. Wannabeawallaby and Enzos Angel have both slipped in the weights and shaped as if back in form last time, so they can be considered serious dangers.

The lightly raced 5yo DESIDERATA was an easy winner here on Saturday and may well be able to defy a penalty back in a handicap.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
